Lynch from teaching for today. I’m not going to change the message to please anybody because there’s only one person that we should please and that is the Lord and he’s the one who will have to get an account to one day, not any other group or body here on the search. First Corinthians chapter 1, page 12, 12, if you have the right kind of Bible, I’m putting pressure on you to get a skill fill. First Corinthians chapter 1, look at you on the verse 26.

He’s not talking to the Corinthian believers about choosing to serve the living God. He says in verse 26, you see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. What God is saying here is that he chooses guys like Daniel. He chooses like those 300 men of Gideon, and he delights in using the weak and those that are not quite so bright or not so physically strong. Verse 27, God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty, and the best things of the world and the things which are despised have God chosen, and things which are not to bring to not things that are, verse 29, what does it say, that no flesh

should glory in his presence? It’s so that we have to say, God did it. This is a miracle of God because I couldn’t have done it. I couldn’t have pulled it off. I was not able to ever do what God has enabled me to do. We all ought to be able to say it was God who gets glory. It’s God who has given the victory. He is the one that we have to praise because it was not because of our wisdom or because of our strength or because of the unique privilege that we had that made it possible, it was God.

Notice, not many wise men, verse 26, not many mighty, not many noble. Who does God choose? You know, deal moody, you know, he was a shoe salesman. A shoe salesman. And he had a voice that was a little high and effeminate. And who would have ever thought that God would use Deol Moody to be such a great evangelist, to reach people on the American continent and even on the European continent. He never was formally educated. When asked about his degrees, he says, I have an O and O degree.

And they said, what’s an O and O degree? out and out for God. You know? Asked about his being ordained. He said that it was just empty hands being laid on an empty head. He was a humble man who saw with good perspective his position in God’s scheme of things, that it wasn’t D.L. Moody’s intellect or his wisdom or his strength or his educational background or anything else, but it was his out and out forgot that God blessed and God used the old Moody.

I believe any and everyone here can be used in a mighty way. Let me warn you that 99% at least of Gideon’s army were sent home. Only 1% and didn’t that summon. And I think that sometimes we have to face that and as I did in my engineering, which I went on to graduate in electrical engineering, I made a decision that day that Dean got my attention and I made a decision I’m going finish, I’m going to do whatever it WRITE to be able to pass this course.

And then when I was faced a little while later with my decision to serve the Lord, it was 🙂 for me. I said, S. I have to be Paul, of course, at the end of his life says I’ve finished my course. He finished. He graduated, and I believe he got an A. I’m pretty sure I haven’t seen Paul’s report card, but I believe the Apostle Paul probably got an A. And he talked about how through his life that he wanted to finish his course at the end of his life.

In his last letter that he writes before he dies, he says I’ve finished my course. And he says I fought the fight. I’ve kept the faith. And Paul had lived out faithfully for the Lord that he had determined to do that. And everybody has to make that kind of decision, which is not the salvation decision. That’s based upon what God did for you. All we do is simply receive what he has done and he saves us. Just like he saved the dying thief.

The dying thief could contribute nothing, but simply believed. And Christ said, today thou shall be with me in paradise. But then we confronted as believers with a second decision. And that’s where you have to decide that you’re going to stick with the program because it costs to be a disciple. The cost for salvation was paid for by God through Christ. And there’s no cost to us. It’s the gift of God. Truly it is with no strings attached. But the thing of serving the Lord is going to cost.

you’ll find that not many people become disciples. When you’re thinking about the ministry of Christ and all those others that he engaged in helping him, including his 12, when it was all said and done at the cross, even those closest to him fled and hid, didn’t they? All the disciples fled and they forsook him. And the Bible said back in Isaiah that he’d be forsaken and they would just leave him to die alone. What happened to the thousands that he had fed?

What happened to the many that got the free lunch along the way? When it came down to standing when they should have stood, they ran, they hid. Peter denies three times it even knows the Lord. He used, I’m sure, some of that fisherman language from his past and I doesn’t tell us in the Bible what curse words he used, but I’m sure he had a pretty good vocabulary in that area and probably used the best that he knew how to deliver.

I don’t know the blankity blank blank blank man. I’m not one of his disciples and he is in pretty coarse language, I’m sure, to make his point. It’s interesting, isn’t it? But on the day of Pentecost, when the disciples were there to receive the blessing of the Holy Spirit on that day, how many were there? It says in Acts 1 there were 120. Wow. Now when you think about 120 out of the many thousands that Christ had won the Christ, the many thousands that he had fed and helped, well that’s a small number isn’t it?

It’s almost disappointing. It’s almost embarrassing. I read Acts 1 and 2. Whoa! After the ministry of Christ, who can do better than he? For three years you boil it down to 120 people that receive the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost Adinida but then what happened with that small group as you read the book of Acts and what happened that the Holy Spirit working in these men turned and women of course turned that world of that day upside down.

So I think sometimes we ought to be lean and mean. I think sometimes we can accomplish more with a few than with the many. Because the many are holding us back. The many are saying, no, let’s not go forward. Let’s not do this. Let’s not embarrass us. Let’s go another direction. Let’s go that way. And sometimes the smaller group who is dedicated, who really cares, will accomplish more than a large group. that isn’t sold out for Christ. So don’t ever be embarrassed if you’re just a small group.

And all it took for David was one stone to take out the life. I’ve been to the brook where they, David got the stones to kill the client in Israel. And I said, Lord, I always, I collect stones. I got up into rocks down the hall. And I found a rock. I said, I need one I need one that’s unique from this, because I want to remember this incident, this place where David selected that rock. And I picked one, and I came back on our tour bus and announced a group that I found, a stone exactly like what David used.

And they looked at me like, what do you mean? How would you pick out a stone like that? And anyway, it turned out to be worn by the water and it was smooth, but it was square in shape. And I said because David hit Goliath square in the head. I’ve got it in my office. I wrote it on David’s stone. But of course, I’m teasing about that. But did you know he picked up five stones and say, why did he pick up five stones?

Did he think you would miss and you’d have to reload? The answer is that Goliath, if you read the Bible carefully, had four brothers. He was ready to take them all out. One stone per each guy. Clap, you’re number one. Brothers, you want to come on? We’ll take you out too. It just takes one stone per guy to take him out. Anyway, we’re through with chapter one, but I wanted to leave the foundation, hopefully, that we’ve said something here that we’ve heard you to mean business.

I think if you really are serious, you’re going to be serious about learning. I’m going to pick on you again, but I had a call this afternoon from the young man, and he said, what do the classes start? said tonight. He said, what am I going to get out of it? I said, what are you looking to get out of it? He says, I want to know as much as you do. And I said, well, it won’t happen in one night and it won’t happen in this 10 weeks.

But I said, this is a place to start because it’s going to take you off. And he’s here that’s smiling. But I enjoyed that comment because, you know, it’s great to have great expectations. But if you’re You’re going to get through this thing, it’s a day by day, week by week, month by month, stay with it, keep learning, keep pushing, keep going forward, and God is going to give you some great victories in your life. But again, don’t be like the many that will not ever grow.

I’ve been a pastor for a long time. I’ve watched some people sit in the same pew in the same spot for decades. It seems like what’s changed here? getting older, but I don’t see much else changing their life. Some people just don’t ever make that choice. That I am not going to stand still. I’m going to move forward. I’m not going to be defiled with the King’s meat. I’m going to dedicate my life to be upright and sincere to live and serve him.

And I’m going to take advantage of the everyday that God gives me to do that and God will wish you for it. Thank you for joining us. We hope that you are enjoying today’s teaching on the book of Daniel. You are listening to Bibleline with your host, Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Now please join us for a segment featuring Dr. Lindstrom answering questions from callers. Hey, how are you doing, Dr. Hank? Good. My question is, I want to know are all Jews going to be saved? Well, the answer is all the Jews believe on Jesus Christ as their Savior. You know, in Romans 10 you might want to write this down. Paul says, my brother and my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they might be saved. And then he points out the mistake that they make, the same mistake that we Gentiles make.

And that is we go about to establish our own right. righteousness and have not responded to the righteousness of God that we need to have to enter heaven. Then in verse 4 Romans 10 he tells us the answers to believe on Christ. When you trust Christ then you have God’s righteousness credited to your account and then you are able to enter heaven. And Paul is saying here his heart’s desire was for Jewish people to go to heaven. He says I bear the record that they have a zeal for God but not according to knowledge and And they don’t realize that they have to have God’s righteousness to go to heaven unless they have that righteousness to not make it in.

So just like we were talking about in Revelation 3, 5 a moment ago, you’ll be clothed with a robe of righteousness, this garment of salvation when you trust Christ as your Savior. And it’s only that righteousness that gets you in. So no, it says there’s no difference Romans 10, 12 between the Jew and the Gentile, every Every one of us are condemned because of our sin, need a Savior, and then it says, who’s the reverently call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved, whether you’re Jewish or whether you’re Gentile.

What I do appreciate that. Thank you, sir. All right. Thank you so much. That’s Romans, Chapter 10, a great chapter that talks about there’s no difference. Choosing Gentiles alike are lost without Christ. You need to trust Him to be saved. We’re now going to go to Bob in Tampa, Florida, and Bob, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the year. uh… a doctor and how you do it good uh… a question about revelation seventeen nine seven or eight came there uh…

i can’t look up to have a different interpretation other than the one i had thought where they’re basically making a case that the the seven kings are the uh… seven pope’s and that john paul is basically the uh… the beef that’s going to come back at the sempomonic one of the best man Well, that’s not the case at all. It says here in verse 9, Revelation 17, and here’s the mind which has wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains or seven hills.

Actually, the Greek word is auras. And the seven, the city, verse 18, the woman is also a city. Verse 18 says, the woman which sells sauce is that great city which reigneth over the kings of the earth. And we believe that the city built upon seven hills is Rome. Even the Roman Catholic Bibles that I have here in my library all say that this is talking about Rome. And it says here there’s a double meaning because it says not only are they seven hills the one on which the city sits which is Rome but in verse 10 there it says they are also seven kings or kingdoms it should read, five are fallen, one is and the others not yet come.

Well when John wrote this he was living during the reign of the Roman empire. He says that that time one is that was Rome and there were five world powers before that. They begin with Egypt. You read about that early in Genesis. Then Assyria, then the third one was Babylon. The fourth was the Medo-Persian Empire. The fifth was Greece. All those were fallen at the time that John writes this in the book of Revelation. The one that was presently ruling at the time John writes this was Rome.

Then he says there’s another yet to come and we believe that is at the end of this age which we’re living now to see that and that is the nations of Europe coming together and then it tells us here and the beast that was and is not even he is the eighth and is of the seven and he goes into predition so he’s talking here about the Antichrist and actually when he comes along I believe he’ll be the head of this country, the United States of America.

And so the seventh is the nations of Europe coming together, which you’ve already seen. And after the rapture, when the Antichrist comes to power, he’s going to militarily take over Europe, and that’ll be the eighth. And he will, of course, be destroyed by the return of Christ and be cast into hell. And obviously, this is not yet happened because it says here that these 10 will give their power over to the the Antichrist, verse 13, they’ll have one mind and give their power and strength unto the beast, thus the Antichrist, the 8th kingdom.

And it says these shall make war with the lamb, that’s Christ, and the lamb shall overcome them. I don’t ever remember reading where 10 nations out under the leadership of 11th nations make war against Jesus and loose, but that’s going to happen at Armageddon and Christ will win because he’s the Lord of Lords and King of Kings and they that are with him. That’s us who are going to come back with him are called and chosen and faithful and will rule and reign with Christ on this earth for a thousand years.

As a quick summary of what I believe is talking about and it certainly is not talking about Pope’s here. I guess their point was that when John was in the vision he was looking at the sixth Pope, John Paul, and then the seventh which is going to rain for a short time and then he comes back after. So completely different. No, it can’t be that. He’s really talking about one was presently ruling at the time he wrote this. That couldn’t be John Paul.

It couldn’t be a pope is talking about world kingdoms. And five of them were fallen. That was Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, the Medipersonan Empire, the Grecian Empire. And Rome was in charge and was the present tense ruling power at the time of John. And then the next one would be the in-time form of Rome coming back to life, which has happened in the European coming market. So the kings are being misinterpreted. it should be kingdoms i can’t correct we now have keith in jackson bill florida keep welcome to my blood from jackson bill florida good morning doctor hang good morning praise god for graces jesus christ a man a i’ve got a question for you sir uh…

talk about my pastor you let yesterday we’re talking about the age of accountability and how uh… i was trying to find some scripture on it when i went home last night and i’m having a little problem with it the Bible says that we’re all born in the sin and that the wages of sin is death. We’re trying to reconcile that, sir. All right. It’s not on every page of the Bible, but children that die before the age of accountability we will go to heaven.

We have a great passage there in 2 Samuel 1223 when David’s child became ill after seven days the child died. And David said in verse 23 of 2 Samuel 12, the child will not return to me, but I’ll going to be with that child. Now we know David was saved and David said in the 23rd Psalm, I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. So David was saying he would see his child again and that he would go to be with the child.

So we know the child obviously was saved because David was saved and David was going to see his child again. As far as to the age of accountability, I think the only passage that really made any sense to me and I searched and searched for years and years and finally I found it and it’s really the last verse in the book of Jonah. And God tells Jonah that there were 120,000 children in the city of Denovin. That was a huge city, well over a million people.

And 120,000 there were children and he defines where the break is I think by saying that they couldn’t tell their left hand from their right hand. So apparently this would allow for the development of the child to be different in every child and when a child becomes of age where they could discern the left hand from the right hand they then are accountable and I think it’s pretty young. Although I know some adults that can’t tell that I have from the right hand.

So maybe they’re good. What other questions? What about a mentally retarded people? Well I think they’ve never become accountable. Some of them would be accountable but some of them got to know only those which are which but some of them I think are never going to be accountable at all. They just can’t make the choice. Well I appreciate your help sir and I enjoy your program. Well beautiful thank you for listening up there in Jacksonville, Florida. I want to turn to the prophet Hosea for just a minute. And in the prophet Hosea, there’s an interesting hint as to when Jesus will return. It says here in verse 15 of chapter 5 of Hosea, and I believe it is a prophetic utterance here of Christ. And it’s exactly like the words he spoke in the New Testament. He says, I will go and return to my place till they acknowledge their offense and seek my face in their f- In their affliction they will seek me early.

Here it tells about Jesus leaving after being rejected. It is first coming and that he would return back to heaven to his place till they, the Jewish people would acknowledge their offense, that is rejection of Christ as they rejected him. Then it says here, and till they seek my face they want to see the Messiah come and I believe it will happen during the tribulation period. And it says, in their affliction will they seek me early? And here it talks about affliction prior to.

And I think we’ve already seen that around the world, Jewish people being afflicted in particular during World War II, 6 million Jews being killed by Hitler in his extermination camps. Chapter 6 verse 1 goes on to say, the Jewish peoples cry, come and let us return unto the Lord. people have returned back to the state of Israel and became a nation in 1948. This year they’ll be celebrating their 60th anniversary. That’s right. Israel has been a nation now for 60 years.

Wow. And so it’s interesting that we’re coming up on the end of a whole generation. You know, if a generation is 70 years, then we’ve got 10 more years to see that conclude. When Christ would come back in the generation that would be living when Christ would become a nation again. So maybe we’re getting very, very close. I think we are. I really believe we’re getting close. And here the Jewish people will cry out and this has been their cry.

Come and let us return unto the Lord for he hath torn and he will heal us. He hath smitten and he will bind us up. So here it talks about the affliction that the Jewish people have gone through and what happened with Hitler and in Europe in World War II. obviously caused the beginning of the existence of the state of Israel. The world was shocked when they discovered the concentration camps and the Holocaust was unveiled. And in 1947, the United Nations voted unanimously, catch that, unanimously, for the state of Israel to be founded and they took the land that was controlled by the British for World War and divided it and allowed the state of Israel to be established.

And then it says here in verse 2, and this is the remarkable verse. If you have your Bible open to Hosea chapter 6 verse 2, if not, go back and look at it later. It says, after two days will he revive us? In the third day he will raise us up and we shall live in a sight. What it’s saying here is after two days the Jewish nation would be revived, and in the third day he would live in our sight.

It says in the third day we shall live in his sight. Now we know the length of that third day. That’s the millennium. When the Jewish people will be back in the state of Israel and Christ will come back as their king and rule and reign over this earth and rule over the Jews as the king of the Jews. And over all the rest of the world is king of kings and Lord of lords. Wow. So if we know the length of the third day, a thousand years, then obviously the length of the first two days also must each be a thousand years.

So what it’s saying here in Hosea chapter 6 and verse 2 is after two thousand years, will He revive us? And in the third thousand years He’ll raise us up and we shall live in His sight. Oh my goodness, Jesus of course in Matthew 23 says exactly the same words that we read in chapter 5 verse 15 of Hosea that he says, I’m leaving, I’m going. I’m going to return to my place. That means he’s been here. And then he will return to his place till they acknowledge their offense and seek my face.

And here we come up on the end of the age and that’s exactly what’s going to happen. Christ will return and they will be raised up and live in this site. We’re at the end of the 2000 years right now. Again, if you can help us financially, we are totally listeners supported. We don’t have any other means of support and we would appreciate hearing from you in that way because we have no other way to be able to stay on the air, so to continue and to grow and to reach forward, we need your help.

Now please join us as we return to our question and answer segment and then we’ll return for more Bible teaching from Dr. Lindstrom. We are now going to violet down in Miami, Florida and violet welcome to the Bible when you’re on the air.

Hi, thank you for taking my calls. I was raised in the church and I’ve always been taught that you can lose your salvation. So hearing you quote scripture and saying that no, you can’t bring flight to me. But doesn’t the Bible say that quality chambers won’t be able to see the kingdom of God? you are absolutely right, but it talks about when you trust Christ that then God sees you as being righteous. So a sinner, no matter what sins you have committed, can be saved and they are saved for everyone they trust Christ.

So if you read that passage that you are referring to and it is in 1 Corinthians 6, 9 through 11, you have to read verse 11 where it says, and such were some of you, but you are washed, you are sanctified, you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the spirit of our God. So if you remained lost without Christ, any sin, including fordication or even telling a lie, would cause you to go to hell.

But when you trust Christ, the Bible says you’re washed. We’re washed in the blood. Don’t you love that hymn? I’m washed in the blood. Nothing but the blood can wash away in my sin. And when you trust Christ, the blood of Christ cleanses us from all sin. So in essence, let’s say you keep on standing and you know you’re standing but at some point in your life you did receive and you did not do this Christ as your Lord and Savior, you still could get saved.

That’s right, when you trust Christ you’re saved forever. Now if you continue to sin, God will spank you if you’re delinquent believer and in 1 Corinthians 5 you have an illustration of this where a man is saved. He is living in a, in fornication with his mother. It’s probably a stepmother. He’s proud, he’s not willing to stop. And it says in verse 5 there, to deliver such a one unto Satan, for the destruction of the flesh, that the Spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

So apparently God would allow Satan to take his life, and he’d go to heaven early, but he’d still be saved. So in other words, God can spank you, and he might even take you home to heaven soon and you plan on going violent. But you’re still saved. I think I lost violet there. But once you’re saved, you’re saved forever. John 637, get this. I talked to one woman and I told her she couldn’t lose her salvation. She says, but pastor, you don’t realize what I have done.

If I told you, if you only knew the sins that I’ve committed, you’d agree with me that God would cast me out. And I said, well, let’s look at the Scripture. In John 637, Jesus sayeth there, him that cometh to me, I will in no wise cast out. And so I asked her, I said, have you trusted Christ as your Savior? Have you come to him? Yes. Well, notice what it says here. If you’ve come to him, I will in no wise cast you out, except they commit the sins that you’ve committed.

No, there’s no exception clause. In other words, once you trust Christ, he will in no wise or in no case under no circumstance would he ever cast you out Nato? And then some people say, well, okay, he won’t cast me out, but I can cast myself out. If I sin or if I don’t want salvation anymore, that’s not even possible. Look at you, will it, John 639. Jesus said, this is the Father’s will. You can’t go any higher than God the Father as far as the chain of command.

This is the Father’s will, Jesus says, in John 639. That of all which have given me, I should lose none. N-O-N-E, none, but raise them all up again at the last day. He’s not going to lose one person. If one person in all of history were ever lost after they came to know Christ of Savior, Jesus would be a liar. Theuably wouldn’t be true, but Christ will never cast out anyone. Well thank you, Violet. I hope that helps. And write those verses down.

John 6-37, John 6-39. We’re going to Darnell in St. Petersburg. darnell welcome to bible on your own the air they don’t have to do it with more good good yeah i’ll just want to go to work on my mother called me last night she worked at a motel around here and she was like baby what happened she said on there’s a lot of jewish people here they’re acting really good also what do you talk about you know he’s going to go to a water path over and then on why explain to our personal what that’s over what was a lot of that but she said the light candles and they want like candles and that’s what the light candles that’s what opened up doors and arm uh…

something that but they can’t bring their own food in there they have to eat the food that they have enough now i thought they only did stuff like that on on the Sabbath while they doing that stuff during pats over time well all these uh… feast days got gave to israel there seven are high holy days and they’re also considered sabbaths even though they don’t fall on saturday so yet they follow the the same rules and so they can’t really do any kind of work they are not allowed to cook food and uh…

so they have to eat food they already have had prepared uh… from before the uh… the uh… holy day of passover so uh… you’re exactly right there you’re serving the old testament law uh… and of course uh… uh… i’m afraid that most of the miss the fact that the real point of Passover was that the lamb had to be slain, the blood had to be shed, the blood had to be applied, and those who applied the blood to the doorpost, when the angel of the Lord came to it midnight, would spare them, he would come and pass over their home in judgment.

And the same is true of us when we trust in Christ as the Passover lamb, that God passes over us in judgment, and we’re spared going to hell because of what Christ did for us by by his substitutionary death on the cross for our sins. So that’s what’s going on, Darnell. One more thing. Now she said they supposed to be doing something else. What is that? Well, this week, of course, is also leading up to the feast of first fruits.

And then 50 days after that, the feast of Pentecost, this is a special time of the year for the Jews. And they’ll be celebrating several of these high holy They’re all listed there in Leviticus 23 for you to read. And so it’s interesting to learn about. And obviously these are prophetic pictures that were fulfilled in Christ’s first coming. He died as the Pass Overlam was buried during the Feast of Ed and Levon Bread, rose from the dead on the Feast of First Fruits Day.

And then 50 days later, the Holy Spirit came at Pentecost and began this present age. you have a beautiful outline of what would happen uh… that has already not been fulfilled in those feast days okay thank you darnell that was great and uh… to talk to you we’re not going to go to gerome in richmond virginia and that your own welcome to buy one year yes uh… the morning doctor hank let me show on the question i have people christian art that i have been a back in state um…

well they will they still do they will do their salvation if they died in a back-set lit state and the answer is no they would not in fact let me give you this work this is worth money we are to stop and pass an offering plate no i’m teasing but he bears chapter ten has a great verse on this and you might want to write this one down and i’m turning there right now in my bible almost there i mean he bears chapter ten and it says in verse 35, but we, that is Christians, this is verse 39, excuse me, Hebrews 1039, the writer of Hebrews is obviously saved and includes himself in this we, but we are not of them who draw back, excuse me, or backslide unto perdition, that’s help.

So we as believers are not of them who backslide He said, I’m not going to say unto hell or into hell, but of them that what? Believe to the saving or the deliverance of the soul. So when we believe we are delivered from hell forever. And even if we backslide, which is what is talking about here, we cannot backslide into hell. That’s impossible. Once you cut trust Christ, you are passed from death on the life you’ve received the gift of eternal life and you will never wind up in hell.

Now you’ll suffer the loss of reward in eternity. for those things that you’ve done. And you’ll be embarrassed and I think you’ll be ashamed and I think you’ll experience regret, but you’ll never go to hell. Hello. Excuse me? Yeah. Thank you, thank you, I think. Okay, I hope that helps. And thank you, Jerome. That was Jerome up in Richmond, Virginia. This wraps up today’s question and answer segment about the Bible, featuring Dr. Hank Lindstrom. We hope that you’ve enjoyed it and that you are growing in your knowledge about the Word of God.

Alright, we’re going to turn to the Book of Daniel and we are glad that you are here. And thanks for coming. Daniel, I’m not there yet myself, so hold on here. We’re going to be here. We last were covering chapter 1, and we have the life here of Daniel, his personal life, and what made Daniel great, as we said last time, is that in verse 8, he purposed in his heart that he He would not file himself.

And we talked about God is looking for people just like that that He can use in a mighty way as His eyes run to and fro throughout all the earth. And we read that in 1st Chronicles 16, verse 9, where He’s looking for those that He can be strong on their behalf. And the Lord opens doors and He can take somebody who doesn’t have much talent or much ability and use them in a mighty way, and I believe God delights in using those things which are not, as we said last week, the weak things, the base things, the things that are not, so that no flesh is going to get glory, but God will get glory for it, and God is going to be seen as the one who pulled it off.

And so I believe all of us can see God do great things in us if we’ll only allow Him to use us. And if we are going to do as Daniel did in purpose in our hearts, we would not defile him. So we found at the end of this test where he stood for being true to his belief in God and the Bible and the God of the Bible. It says in verse 20, in all matters of wisdom and understanding that the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.

Daniel continued even under the first year of King Cyrus. So he continued as a great leader for God in the political realm. So he was one that did not compromise his life. Chapter 2 verse 1, In the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, where with his spirit was troubled and his sleep break from him. And the king commanded to call the magicians and the astrologers and the sorcerers and the Chaldeans for to show the king his dreams, So they came and stood before the king.

We still have those kinds of folks around today, don’t we? They’re forbidden to you and me as a Christian. We know it tells us in Isaiah 47, 13, that we’re not to consult with astrologers and those who read your future, your palm readers and those who prognosticate the future like the horoscopes and so on. We’re to flee all of that. And here they were around then, they’re still around today. And personally, I really don’t, I really don’t, people don’t believe me, and I really don’t know what my so-called astrological sign is.

Because I just don’t want to… So, when people ask me what sign were youFINE under, I tell them the sign of the cross. If you want to see a neat reaction from people, just tell them when they ask you what your sign is or what sign were youborne under, that you’reborne the sign of the cross. It almost causes a short circuit in their brain and they don’t know that quite how to respond. It’s a great opportunity to witness because that is the correct answer for us as believers.

Alright, it says verse 3, the king said unto them, I’ve dreamed a dream and my spirit was troubled to know the dream. Then speak the Chaldeans to the king in the Syrian language. Oh, king, live forever. Tell thy servants the dream and we’ll show you the interpretation. Boy, they were ready to spin a tale for him if he could only tell him the dream. And then the king answered and said to the Chaldeans, the thing is gone for me.

If you will not make known unto me the dream with the interpretation thereof, you’re going to take a pay cut. No, you’ll be cut in pieces and your houses shall be made a dunnhill. Whoa, their lives are going to be over-finished if they couldn’t tell the dream. If you show the dream and the interpretation thereof, you shall receive of me gifts and rewards and great honor. Therefore show me the dream and the interpretation thereof. Notice their response. Then it says here in verse 7 they answered again and said, let the king tell his servants the dream and and we’ll show the interpretation.

And the king answered and said, I know of a certainty that you would gain time because you see that the thing is gone from me. But if you will not make known unto me the dream, there is but one decree for you. For you have prepared lying in corrupt words to speak unto me till the time be changed. Therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that you can tell me the interpretation thereof. And then the Chaldeans answered and said before the king, There is not a man upon the earth that can show the king’s matter.

And that was true. God alone could have told him the answer, and of course we find he does that through the mandaniel. Therefore, there is no king, Lord, nor ruler that asks us such things that any magician or astrologer or Chaldean. And it is a rare thing that the king requires. There is none othersoType that can show it before the king except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh. For this cause the king was angry and very furious and commanded to destroy all the wise men of Babylon.

And the decree went forth that the wise men should be slain. And they sought Daniel and his fellows to be slain. Well Daniel hears about it and Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Ariak the captain of the king’s guard, which was gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon. And he answered and said to Ariak the king’s captain, why is the decree so hasty from the king? Then Ariak made the thing known to Daniel. And then Daniel went in and desired of the king that he would give him time and that he would show the king the interpretation.

Now notice now beginning verse 17, what does Daniel do? He has a prayer meeting. He gets his friends together and he prays. Then Daniel went into his house and made the thing known to Hanania, Mishael, and Azariah. Those were the Jewish names. Remember last week we gave you the Babylonian names that they were given to ween them away from the God of the Bible. Satan always wants to do that and that was an attempt to bring them away from the true God that they believed in.

And so they came together, verse 18, that they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning the secret, and that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. And notice as they prayed, in verse 19 it says, then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then notice Daniel’s response when he got the answer to the dream. Daniel blessed the God of heaven. And Daniel answered and said, blessed be the name of God forever and ever for wisdom and might are his.

And he changed at the times and the seasons. He removed with kings and set up kings. He giveth wisdom unto the wise and knowledge to them that no understanding. He revealeth the deep and secret things. He knoweth what is in the darkness and the light dwelleth with him. What a response here. We learn here about God is the one who establishes leaders in the political realm and allows sometimes for evil men to rule and we find that he’s the one that removes kings and sets up kings and He’s the one that changes the times in the seasons and Sometimes we forget that God is in charge ultimately even though Satan is the God of this world Satan can’t do anything except God would allow it and God is sovereign overall.

Verse 23, I thank thee and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hath given me wisdom and might, and hath made known unto me now what we desire to thee, for thou hast made known unto us the king’s matter. So that was a prayer of thanksgiving and sometimes maybe we forget to give thanks to God, because he’s the one that we really owe the credit to for really everything and everything that we might be able to accomplish in this world because he allows it.

He’s the one that gives us the ability the Bible says to make a living, to make wealth. He gives us the talents and the abilities that we have, our health. Everything is dependent upon God at any moment. Any one of us could be taken and no longer be here on the planet another day. Verse 24, therefore Daniel went in unto Ariak whom the king had ordained to destroy the wise men of Babylon. He went and said thus unto him, destroy not the wise men of Babylon or the wise men of Babylon.

But bring me in before the king and I will show the king the interpretation. Then Ariak brought in Daniel before the king in haste and I have found a man of the captives of Judah, a Jew, that will make known under the king the interpretation. The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belchazar, are thou able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen and the interpretation thereof? Look at what Daniel says here, which is an interesting beginning as he reminds the king that his own guys, his wise men could not reveal the secret.

Daniel answered in the presence of the king and said, the secret which the king had demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the souslayers show one of the king. Hey, what happened to your best guys? What’s going on here? And obviously he now informs the king that there There is a God, the true and living God, that can answer these kinds of things. There is a God in heaven that reveals secrets and make it known unto the King Nebuchadnezzar what shall be marked this in your Bible if you’re marking your Bible, what shall be in the what?

Later days. I believe today we are living in the latter days. And what here Daniel saw then as to the interpretation of that dream takes us down to the latter days which I believe we’re living in now. And soShipping are really, really exciting passages because they really lay out God’s plan. And what we are seeing today, we believe, is at the wind-up of all of the Daniel had seen here in his dream. It says here, I dream and the visions of the head upon my bed are these.

As for thee, O King, thy thoughts came into mind upon thy bed, here again you might want to mark this phrase, what should come to pass hereafter? God’s word is truthfulness and God gives the challenge in Isaiah to all of the false religions of the world to tell the future they can’t. They can’t even get the past right, much less the future. We’d like to continue with Dr. Lindstrom’s teaching, but we are almost out of time for today. Next time on Bibleline, we’ll continue the teaching on the Book of Daniel.

Christ will return and they will be raised up and live in this site. We’re at the end of the 2000 years right now. Can you imagine? After 2000 years the Jewish people would be revived. They would be raised up and live in his site for a third thousand years, which is the millennium. Well, I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. This is Bibleline and I hope you’re a believer because if you’re not a believer you’re in trouble. You’ll be left behind for the darkest hours of human history which are about to happen here on this earth and we can see it coming as you read the headlines every day.

I’m leaving at the Rapture and if you are a believer you’ll be leaving at the Rapture also and we’ll meet in the air and I’ll be glad to give you a high five on the way up. I’m looking forward to it and could be. It could be and I’m not a date etc. But it could be he would come this year. Wouldn’t that be something? The Lord could snatch us out. And as soon as that happens, the church age will have ended, which began at Pentecost and ends at the Rapture.

And then the seven years of tribulation that the Bible talks about , , in so many portions of the Bible will then be underway. And during that time the Antichrist will rise to power, and Jesus will come back at the end of the seven years and defeat him and set up his Kingdom and rule and reign here on this planet. We have a number of wonderful things in our Resource Center here. Let me just say that I recommend the Strong’s Concordance and we have that available here and we could give it out to you.

That’s fatter than a phone book but it has every word, every the thou and and but and shout that it’s in the Bible and it will buy a number code system. Give the original Greek or Hebrew word depending on whether it’s the older New Testament. And it’s a wonderful way to do some real study in your Bible. If you know one word in a verse, you can look up that one word and in the strong and cordents will quote every verse in the Bible where that word occurs, a part of the verse.

So you’ll be able to find a verse you’ve been looking for real quickly. And then it will give you by number code system and you’ll have access to the scholarship of 200 Hebrew Greek scholars but you’ll be able to look up the actual Hebrew or Greek word and what it meant and how it is translated throughout the Bible. Wonderful tool, we have that. We also have the Vines expository Bible dictionary which gives you more of theRose root meanings of the words and really helps you understand Bible passages by going back to the original language.

If you go to your regular English dictionary, you will not find that you will get necessarily the meaning that comes from the original words into our English Bible. But you don’t have to know any Hebrew or Greek to figure this one out. it’s a wonderful tool, we have that. And also we have the Scofield Bible. The old Scofield is becoming more and more scarce. If you go to your bookstore, they generally don’t carry it. But we have it in stock here.

And that’s the only one. In fact that we recommend as the old Scofield Reference Bible, we have that available. And we have it in a soft, hardback and leather and a large print. So you might want to call and talk to our operators about that. We have the two commentaries that I love so much, the Jameson Fosse Brown three volume, three volume underbridge commentary has a comment on every scripture. And so you really got it made with that. Plus, we have the Jay Vernon McGee comedy five volumes.

It’s a wonderful set of details. We have about 200. We have it for a gift of 100. And that has something on every chapter in the Bible. So, James and Bernard McGee will get you launched in the right direction. And usually you can move forward from there with that. God bless. Keep looking up. Jesus is coming. And we believe He’s coming soon. You’ve been listening to Bibleline, a presentation of Bibleline Ministries of Tampa, Florida.
