Now open your Bible to the book of Revelation chapter 7 and join us for Dr. Lynchstrom’s teaching for today. Only the believers will survive. Only the believers will be able to stand. Every unbeliever will not be able to stand.
They’ll be cut down by Christ and they’ll be destroyed and killed. And no unbelievers will live to enter into the thousand year reign of Christ. And so here you have the Battle of Armageddon, you have the wind up, you have Christ coming back to judge the world and judge the unsaved. He destroys the unbelievers. They’ll try to hide, but even the mountains and their fortresses will not be able to spare them from the wrath of the Lamb. If you die without Christ or if you’re living with the Second Coming and you are without Christ, you’ll not escape.
You’ll not be able to stand. Only those that have Christ will stand and they’ll be invited to live in the thousand year earthly reign of Christ and they’ll enjoy a kingdom of peace on earth, good will toward men that Christ will establish at his second coming. So it’s an exciting chapter and we swept the whole tribulation period in one chapter. Isn’t that amazing? And we’re going to see the book of Revelation and then we’ll feed us more details about what fills in the blanks in between.
But now you’ve gotten an overview of how it begins. It begins with an antichrist. A man who will be promising peace, freedom, democracy to the world, as we’re already hearing those phrases being used, and people won’t ever suspect that he’s the evil man that he becomes. But he’s revealed coming on a white horse, appearing to be Christ-like, and then all of a sudden what happens, then a red horse. He begins to conquer, gets the taste of war, and he begins to control, and blood flows, and there’s a red horse.
And then we see the result of war which follows, and of the famines that will develop from perhaps Lucas Plagues and other things as well. And it will be famine and narration of food. It will start to get tough. And then we have the pestilence and death that follows war and famine. And we find incurable diseases sweeping across the world. And yet in Matthew it says, this is just the beginning of sorrows. And then we have the big when, when the Antichrist goes into the temple that will have been rebuilt, maybe Gershon Solomon will be the man to build it.
And that’s something, think about that. He’s the man that has had this purpose since the Six-Day War to build that Third Temple, preparing the stones and making ready. And after we leave at the Rapture, he’ll stay behind because he’s not a believer. He believes that Jesus has not yet come. And I’ve told him he’s lost. I’ve told him he’s in trouble. But he smiles and… And it moves on, but maybe the blinders will come off his eyes and get saved after the rapture.
That’d be wonderful. I’d like to see that happen for him. But in any case, he might be the very man who will build the temple. The Antichrist will desecrate and Jesus will come back and cleanse and establish his rule in. Isn’t that fascinating? It could be that way. I mean, that’s an exciting thought, isn’t it? We’re living that close. Well, I think we’re living in exciting days, and I don’t know that he’s going to live to do it, but I think we’re so close that he could, and I know if you read what he’s writing lately, all the things that have happened as of late have him really fired up.
He’s ready to build that third temple. So here we have an outline, and when we get into chapter 7, we’re going to have an interlude that will tell us what else will happen during the tribulation period that is quite significant, And then we’ll later get into more judgments and we’ll see how they lay out across this plan and I think you’ll get a pretty comprehensive view of what’s going to happen during the tribulation period. I’m glad I’m leaving at the rapture.
I really wouldn’t want to be here when all that’s taking place. But we’re moving fast and obviously we have a connection with the Middle East. Have you bought gas today? We’re connected to the oil, and the Bible says that he would put hooks in our jaws and drag us into the Middle East, and one of those hooks is the oil, I’m sure that we would ignore that wasteland over there if it weren’t for oil. But we’re going to be right in there, and the nations are being drawn to that oil because they have a big appetite for it.
You and I do too when we go to that gas pump. But I think that this is going to cause the whole thing to take place. It’s that drawing in the Middle East because of the treasure that’s buried beneath the sands over there in the Middle East that we’re all going to be involved. Now, Chapter 7, it says, and after these things, I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth. have said the Bible is not very scientific, talking about the earth having four corners.
But guess what? NASA from outer space has observed our earth is not a perfectly round ball and actually has four bulges that they call the four corners of the earth. Are you believing that? Yeah, the earth actually is not completely, totally, perfectly round. It has bulges to it. There are four bulges that they call the four corners of the earth. Isn’t it amazing? The Bible is an amazing book. It just always is right and men are sometimes slow to catch on to what the Bible already said.
So if somebody objects to the so-called four corners of the earth, tell them they don’t know what they’re talking about, that our latest technology has discovered that we do have four corners on the earth. Notice this as in verse 1 here, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth nor on the sea nor on any tree. So we have here somewhat of a lull in the action here as God now seals the 144,000.
This I believe takes place at the beginning of the tribulation, so now we’re backing up for getting the judgments of the seven seals. We’re now taking a look at what God is doing spiritually to bring people to Christ during the tribulation period during those judgments which are to get their attention so that they will be willing to listen. You hear the gospel. So he says, I saw another angel sending from the east having the seal of the living God.
He cried with a lot of voice to the four angels to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, saying, hurt not the earth. Neither the sea nor the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. So we believe that this is the 144,000. They’re about to seal. The seal is probably the seal of the Holy Spirit as the Holy Spirit actually empowers these to be great witnesses during the tribulation period.
Now, this is a passage that a lot of people seem to like to gravitate to. The Seventh Adventists say that the seal of the living God is to worship on Saturday. That the mark of the beast is to worship on Sunday. So all those who worship on Sunday have the mark of the beast and the Seventh Adventists because they worship on Saturday, have the seal of the living God. Of course, how they get that from the passage, y’all have no clue.
But they do all these kinds of things. And they also claim that they’re the 144,000. The Jehovah’s Witnesses claim that they’re the 144,000. Let’s read and see what it says. In verse 4, Revelation 7, I heard the number of them that were sealed and that were sealed on 140 and 4,000 of all the Jehovah’s Witnesses. No, excuse me, I misread that. It says here, they were sealed 140,000 and 4,000 of all the tribes of the children of Israel. So these are all Jewish.
Verse 5 of the tribe of Judah was still 12,000. Of the tribe of Reuben were still 12,000. Of the tribe of Gad were still 12,000. Of the tribe of Asr were still 12,000. Of the tribe of Nephelium were still 12,000. Of the tribe of Manasseh was still 12,000. Of the tribe of Simeon were still 12,000. Of the tribe of Levi were still 12,000. Of the tribe of Ishikar were still 12,000. Of the tribe of Zebulon were still 12,000. Of the tribe of Joseph were still 12,000.
the tribe of Benjamin would seal 12,000. 12 tribes times 12,000 is 144,000. We’re not going to turn over to chapter 14, but we also find that these are not only Jewish, but they’re all men, they’re virgin men. So if someone comes to your door and claims-‘to be, one of the 144,000, you have to say, oh, you must be Jewish. And if they say they’re not, then say, I’m sorry, you have to be Jewish to be one of the hundred four or thousand.
If it’s a female, you have to say, I’m sorry, they’re all men. And if the man is married, then sorry, and these are all virgin men. And so the hundred four or thousand are those three things. In chapter 14, and this we find they are Jewish 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes, they are male, and they’re male virgins. Okay, so these are the hundred four or thousand, they will witness during the first three and a half years of the tribulation and millions will get saved.
We find that in verse 9 it says after this I’d be holding low a great multitude which no man could number of all nations and kindreds and people and tongues stood before the throne before the lamb clothed with white robes and palms in their hands. Now we’re going to go to Steve in Richmond, Virginia. Steve, welcome to Bible Head. Oh, thank you. How you doing, Dr. Smith? Good. I’m going to ask you a question that I’ll hang up, but it’s something that’s always puzzled me.
Who has? Exactly. And my question was why did Satan, after Jesus was baptized, after demons knew who he was, why I didn’t Satan know who he was or did he know who he was? He absolutely knew who he was, and of course, if he had gotten Christ to sin, then hence he could not have been the Savior. Christ had to be sinless. Christ demonstrated that he was sinless, and we’ve seen that throughout his life, and even at the conclusion when Pilate was the last inquisitor, said, I find no fault of this man.
We find Jesus from the get-go. Was the sinless Lamb of God that would come and die to pay for the sins of the world. knew what he was doing, but Jesus of course was victorious. And what Jesus did was quote scripture to Satan and said, Satan, it is written and quotes the word of God and Satan has to of course, tuck his tail between his leg and move on. So that’s basically what that’s all about. We have Brady listening in Tallahassee, Florida, the state capital of Florida.
Brady, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hello, Dr. Lynch, how are you? Good. Okay, I wanted to make a comment on which we were talking about earlier about people being deceived. Okay, you can like 90% of Christianity is false. And like with me growing up throughout Christianity, one thing that I noticed, okay, is in a lot of settings or whatever, I’ve heard a lot of pastors say, know what the endisteed is, is when a person comes saying that they are Christ.
It would use his Matthew chapter 24 and go on into verse 4. And they start telling people, no, it’s when a person comes claiming themselves to be Christ. When one point when I read that, it was like I’m reading as if Christ is saying a lot of people are going to come saying that Jesus is the Christ. And that’s where the greatest deception is coming from. when you have people that go around saying that they’re christ or whatever they don’t deceive a lot of people because most people think that they’re crazy You know, but I think the biggest exception is when you go into these local churches or whatever and they’re using them by your blockade, but then they’re teaching them with their own spin.
You’re absolutely right. You know, and this is why it’s so subtle and I believe you have the right interpretation of that verse that there are churches and denominations that will say, yes, Jesus is the Christ, but then they really put a different spin on how you get to heaven and teach that you have to work your way. You have to be water baptized and keep the sacraments and do it. do penance and say prayers and go to confession and be confirmed and all these other things which are all human works and we’re not saved based upon our deeds but on the basis of Christ’s finished work at the cross.
Yeah, and I say it’s amazing what this Bible does, people take it and read it for themselves. You know and depend on Christ as being their teacher. You know any man. Amen. and because if you’ll get a whole lot out of here, that people just aren’t teaching. Well Brady, you must be listening on the internet. Is that how you’re getting us? Yes. I figured so. Well, I’m so glad you called in and keep on listening up there and telling your friends about it.
Yes, I will. All right, thank you. I’m glad. That was Brady in Tallahassee, Florida. And we have a lot of internet listeners that are getting Bibleline, as well as those that are actually hearing us on a live broadcast station. we have a s calling in from mobile alabama is welcome to bible hey how you doing today uh… i’m finding you good and glad you called how can we help you today aces are you still there ace yet okay we had a little bit of a phone problem here i’ll see that not a problem my question was uh…
actually i’ve uh… got away from reading my bible and and get back into it now and slowly relearning of course i know you never forget it but i know that in several parts of the bible that i’ve been covered it talks about uh… not passing judgment on other men our punishment or anything of that nature and my profession is a police officer and i was wondering uh… you know how the that’s a very good question i i believe that When the Bible talks about not judging, it’s talking about areas where we really are not capable of judging.
They’re motives, they’re inner thoughts, and things that we really have no knowledge of. So many times people do that. They’ll judge somebody and they’ll say, well, he came to church today just to show off that brand-new suit that he bought. And it might be true, but we’re not to make this kind of judgment. So unless the guy said, you know, I’ve been to church in three months, but I wanted to show off my brand-new suit. tells you that, then you know he’s guilty of it.
But if somebody breaks the law and you catch them in the act, obviously you can make a judgment this guy’s broken the law. Or if a person tells me that they’re trying to get to heaven by their works, I can say you’re not saved because if you’re trying to be saved by your works, then you’re not really trusting Christ and therefore you will not make heaven. So there are areas where we are allowed to judge. And I’m gonna give you a verse that I like in Corinthians, Chapter 4 is one of those passages where it says in verse 4, I know nothing against myself, yet I am not here by justified, but he that judges me is the Lord.
Therefore, judge nothing before the time until the Lord come who will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and will make manifest the counsels of the heart. So notice the areas that he talks here about that we’re not the judge. That’s the hidden things of darkness, the things that we don’t know about. We can accuse somebody falsely and say, well, boy, you don’t know what that person’s doing in the dark, you know? Or we’ll make manifest the counsels of the hearts, which is what is their true motivation and what is going on inside their mind?
And what are they thinking? That I can’t tell you. And we’re not to judge somebody like that. And it happens all the time I see it among Christians. they’ll say that person really did that because they wanted to do you know getting this advantage or that or whatever and they’re judging areas where they can’t they really can’t really know the answer to it. Otherwise you’re okay. Okay also one more quick question and I’ll jot it down as you tell me because it’s kind of important.
I’m newly married four years ago. Yes and she still has a real hard time with it and I’m trying to pointer some parts in the Bible because I know that. As a child growing up, we always, you know, rejoice after the funeral and everything because that person made it to heaven. And I need to point out some passages in the Bible that will help her to show that it’s okay to let go and, you know. Well, absolutely. You know, I think was her former husband a believer?
Did he go to heaven? Do you believe her? She’s he went to heaven. Yeah, then, you know, it’s I like Psalm one 16 15 Psalm one 16 15. It says precious in the sight of the Lord. is the death of his saints. So the Lord looks upon it as a homecoming for the believer. Like you said, you would rejoice after the departure of a loved one because you know they’re in heaven now. And I think that’s one of the great passages where you see God’s side of the picture.
We sorrow, we grieve and that grieving process will go on for a long, long time. But yet at the same time we could put it behind us and rejoice that they’re with the Lord. And the Lord is really excited that they’ve come home to be with Him. And so ultimately we’re all going to go there and He prepares us sometimes when others go before us to face that ourselves. We have Dwayne in Tampa. He says here, repent before you are saved.
That’s true, but biblical repentance is a change of mind. It’s included when you are saved with belief. Let me say it this way. The Greek word metanoia, which is translated repent in the New Testament, means to change your mind. Metamines change, noia means mine, the two words metanoia means to change your mind. And when the Bible says repent it means to change your mind. So write this down. If you get this Dwayne, you’ve got it made. You can repent without believing, but you cannot believe without repenting.
Got it? You can repent without believing, but you cannot believe without repenting. What did I say? You can repent or change your mind about salvation, about Christ or whatever, and still not believe or trust Christ as your Savior. But you cannot believe or trust Christ as Savior without repenting or changing your mind in the process. Whenever you trust Christ, it’s automatic. You have changed your mind in the process from whatever you were previously trusting in to now trusting in Christ.
So get that down and you’ll understand the doctor to repent. You can repent without believing, but you cannot believe without repenting. So it’s true, you have to change your mind from whatever you’re previously believing, and are trusting in, in order to be saved, and trust Christ, and God saves you. So yes, you change your mind and you believe, but you cannot believe without having repented in the process. Anthony in Virginia calls in, off air, and says, when did the Gentiles start witnessing the Jews.
Well that was this whole age from Pentecost till the Rapture is an age where God said he would witness to the Jews in Gentile languages. So it began almost immediately after Pentecost. Gentiles became the witnesses in this age. And number two from Anthony in Virginia is a bishop over an elder in the church or they’re the same. It’s the same. The Greek word is the same. It means overseer. and an elder or bishop is an overseer and that usually is a pastor but there can be other elders in addition to the pastor but a pastor would always be considered an elder or a bishop.

To pledge your support for Bibleline, give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. If you have your Bible, get it out and we’ll take a look at the Scriptures. You’ll find that the Word of God is an incredible book, not only does it claim to be the Word of God, but indeed it is the Word of God from cover to cover.
We believe all of the Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction, in righteousness, that the man of God might be completely furnished. Throughly furnished unto all good works, and so, if you are a believer, you need to get into your Bible, and you need to see what it has to say. There’s one unpardonable sin and most people have committed that sin that is the sin of unbelief. In John 3, 18 it says, he that believeth on Christ is not condemned.
He, that believeth not, is condemned already. And then it says because… because he hath not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God. What is so amazing is that the unpardonable sin is unbelief, its rejection of Christ. Jesus paid for every imaginable sin that you would ever commit in your lifetime. He paid for all your passage, your presence and your future sins. They’re all paid for. And when you trust Christ as your Savior, the Bible says at the moment you trust him, you are not condemned, nor will you be condemned any time in the future.
You’ll never come into condemnation if you are a believer. John 3 18, take a look. But if you’re not a believer, then you are condemned already. So the unbeliever is already living in a condemned state. You don’t have to wait till you die to find out you’re condemned. The Bible says the one who does not believe on Christ is condemned already because he hath not believed on the name of the only be gotten son of God. The only two groups in this world and they are our only believers and unbelievers.
So the whole world splits into these two groups. I tell people there’s two kinds of Catholics. They’re those who have trusted Christ as their only hope of heaven and are saved in going to heaven and there are those who have not trusted Christ as their savior and as the only means of their salvation and they’re going to help. There are two kinds of a Methodist. Those that have simply trusted Christ is their only hope of heaven and are saved going to heaven.
And there are those who are Methodists who have not trusted Christ as the only means of their salvation and are lost and are going to hell. And we could go down through every denomination. It’s not what denomination you belong to. It’s not what church you attend. It is whether or not you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior not. And all those that believe on Christ, that is trust on Him as Savior, they are not condemned, but the ones who are unbelievers are condemned already.
So which group are you in? Are you a believer? Have you trusted in Jesus Christ? The word believe comes from the Greek word postuo. It means to trust, to rely upon, to put your confidence in, to rest your weight upon. Once you trust Christ, according to the Bible, you possess everlasting life. Not only does it say that you’re not condemned in John 3 18, which is in a Greek tense that says you’re not condemned at the moment you believe, but also you’re forever thereafter not condemned.
But in John 3 16 it says, whosoever believeth or trusteth in Christ should not perish but have, have as a present tense verb that you would have at the moment you believe, you would possess presently everlasting life from the moment you You believe. Let me give you a quiz. If you have everlasting life, and according to the Bible, once you trust Christ is the only means of your salvation, you possess it presently from that moment on, what kind of life would you have tomorrow?
Well, the answer would be everlasting life. Very good. If you have everlasting life today, what kind of life would you have next week? Well, it would still be everlasting life, wouldn’t it? If you have everlasting life today, what kind of life would you have one year from now? Well, it would still be everlasting life. If you have everlasting life today, what kind of life would you have? 100 years of now well, it would still be everlasting life and if you have everlasting life right now What kind of life would you have a million years of now?
Well, obviously it’s forever and ever and ever and ever and according to the Bible It is a present possession received at the moment of belief So many people think that they have to wait until after they die to find out whether they’re going to heaven. Why? Because they have a false plan of salvation, which is based upon works, and as long as you’re thinking in terms of works, you have to wait until after you die, until all the works are added up or weighed in the scale, and then it is determined whether you make heaven or not.
We’re going to rejoin stations that have been on break into the second half hour by one, so don’t go away. Would you like to help Bibleline continue in your area? You can. Please make plans to join us and open your Bible as we also present in-depth studies covering a variety of biblical topics.
Now let’s return to our question and answer segment and then we’ll hear more Bible teaching from Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re going to now go to Carol in Richmond, Virginia. Carol, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the earth. Good morning, Dr. Hank. Good morning. I had a question, my granddaughter asked me and I did not know how to answer. She said that someone told her that only about 1% of the people on earth would get to heaven. And I told her I had no idea where that was in the Bible.
Well, it’s not. That’s a pure guess on her part or whoever’s part. The Bible says that narrow is the way that leads into life, which is Christ. He is the narrow way. you trust him there’s only one way to have in Christ and brought us away the leads to destruction and many are those in there in there at so it is true I believe that the majority will be lost and few will be saved but we don’t know how many but there’s nowhere in the Bible that indicate a certain number no no not at all yeah well I couldn’t find anything I told I’d never heard of anything no that’s a pure guess somebody said 1% and I guess everybody You know how they do.
But there’s nothing like that in the Bible at all. And I would pray that everybody would be saved. It’s certainly God’s intention that no one would go to hell. In 2 Peter 3.9 it says that God is not willing that any should perish. But that all should come to a change of mind repentance so that they might be saved. So God really desires that everybody would be saved. And Christ died for everyone so that no one has to go to hell.
The sad thing is that man in his nature sometimes willfully just says no, no, no. I’m not going to trust Christ and they die without Christ. Well I’ve got another question. Her daughter is into a church in Tennessee that believes in tongues heavily. Yes. And so we’ve been doing some research on that. And of course I know you’ve spoken of it several many times. But in 1 Corinthians 14, 2, where it’s speaking of tongues and it’s a false word in his spirit, speaks mysteries.
Well what he’s saying is that the person listening says what in the world is this guy saying? In other words I don’t understand it’s a mystery what he’s saying. So basically this is the misuse of the real gift. The word unknown is in italics it’s not in the original manuscripts and so when it says unknown tongue the translators added the word unknown to let you and me know it was a language unknown to the hearer and what the people are doing today in these churches is a gibberish that’s unknown to everybody, including the person speaking it.
So that’s not from God. The real gift was a known language understood by the hearer, but if it was misused, not understood by the listener. And so it’s important that if you did have the real gift to speak to somebody who could understand the language you spoke. If you spoke Russian, you should talk to people that speak Russian. And if you had the gift of Chinese and you know, to go speak to people that speak Chinese so that they would understand it.
But the gibberish is totally nonsense. We have a great book in our resource center and it’s called The New Testament Teaching on Tongues by Merle Unger. He’s the author of the Unger Bible Dictionary and many other real great books that he’s written. But that is a book that slammed dunks this whole thing from scripture. If you want to see a scholarly work that says, Tongues is no more, that’s a good one to plus I have a CD on tongues and also a DVD 60 something minutes of teaching on tongues where basically we we point out that what is being done today is a counterfeit it’s not the real thing so you might consider yeah information on to her yes you can call here and order that and it’ll be very helpful to her okay can I have one other question absolutely earlier today I’ll call a
a lot made reference to when Christ was on the cross and said, my father, why have you forsaken me? Yes. Well, I’ve heard and you kind of said that that was when he took on the sin of man and God could not really look at him or be associated with sin at that point. But I’m confused in the fact of how do I relate that to the Trinity, to God the Father? Right. Well, what you have to recognize here is that this, we’re not talking about Jesus the man.
When we talk about Calvary, God didn’t die at the cross, but it was the man Jesus who died. And God actually became a man and he was fully God and fully man. And the focus throughout the Bible is on the sacrifice. It was a man who died. It says in, for example, Hebrews chapter 10, 10, by God’s will, we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ. The man is the man of Christ Jesus. In contrast to the priests who would offer up sacrifices offered up one sacrifice for sins forever.
Then sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on High. So it was the man Christ Jesus. It says in Timothy 2, 5 that there’s one God and one mediator between God and men the man Christ Jesus. So the focus is on the fact that he’s a man. So the main is the right so as a man he was forsaken You know years ago it actually happened in a method of semi I mean seminary. I was about to say seminary they Said that if Jesus was God and then God died on or Christ out on the cross of Calvary Then God died and the whole God is dead movement began out of a seminary and then it’s tragic thing But again, they just don’t pay attention closer to what Scripture says.
God didn’t die. He’s not even sick. He’s very much alive, but the man Jesus died. And of course, God raised him back from the dead. Okay. Thank you so much for explaining that to me. All right, Carol. And keep listening up there in Richmond. We surely will. We love your program. Thank you so much. Thank you. All right. That was Carol in Richmond, Virginia. We’re now going to Don in Sarasota, Florida. Don, welcome to Bible Eye. Thank you. I have a question.
We’ve had a death in our family and I was just wondering, well, he… Was he a believer? Yes, he’s a believer. The answer is absolutely yes. Second Corinthians 5-8, you need to write it down. Second Corinthians 5-8 says, absent from the body, present with the Lord. You can’t get any clearer than that. So as soon as you die, your soul and spirit leave your body, which will be buried and return back to dust, but you’re immediately present with the Lord.
So it’s instantaneous. Yeah. Well, I was reading about the Rapture. Now, you don’t get your new body until the Rapture. You’re what? You don’t get your new body until the Rapture. You see, your friend is in heaven, but he’ll have to wait until Lord comes at the event of the Rapture to get his resurrection body. Okay. Okay. We have a wonderful book with that. Yeah. We have a wonderful book by Erwin Lutzer. Call one minute after you die and he does a wonderful job.
He’s the pastor of the Moody Church in Chicago. In fact, we have three books that are really good to comfort somebody who’s lost to loved one and explains the issues of what happens at the moment of death. And this book is pretty powerful one minute after you die and a lot of people have found it helpful to give to somebody who’s suffered a loss of a loved one and those that are asking the kind of questions you’re asking the book does a great job.
Yeah well his wife and son absolutely. Okay. No doubt about it. We’ll be together with our loved ones that have gone before us or if they’re still living they’ll eventually join him if they also are believers. Thank you very much. You’re very welcome. Thank you, Don, Don, and Sarah. So to Keith, welcome to my blind, you are on the air. Keith, are you there? Good morning. Good morning. This is Keith from Richmond. Yes, sir. I was calling a question that deals with the spirituality or the spiritual side of Christianity, not necessarily the religion side.
And I would like to know how does or if in fact it does, mysticism, if you could answer that have anything to do with Christianity. And also, I heard of minister, and he was speaking, and he was talking about the seven levels of spirituality. And it’s something that just interested me if it is indeed a fact. All right, first of all, Mrs. Sizum, you don’t want to get into that at all. We need to go directly to my God’s word, where God speaks quite plainly about what he’d have us to do or not do.
He doesn’t hide things from us. We can certainly know his will and he can guide and direct us. He’s quite plain about what we have to do to be saved and so on. Now seven levels of spirituality sounds like a preacher’s outline because there’s nowhere in the Bible that says there are seven levels of spirituality. You’re either spiritual or you’re not. The word or phrase spiritual means that your spirit controlled or controlled by the Spirit of God. If you are carnal or fleshly, you are controlled by your flesh.
The Bible tells us that we really need to… He is the author of scripture and directs our footsteps through his word. And so as you are obedient to the Word of God, you are spirit led or spiritually controlled or you are spiritual. But if you are following after your lusts and after your flesh, then you are carnal or fleshly and not spiritual. Basically, it’s that simple. As you’re obedient to the Word of God and doing what God would have you to do from his word, obeying the footsteps that God has outlined within his word, you are a spiritual person.
As you continue that, over a period of time, you become matured, where it becomes a habit and becomes routine, and you then are what the Bible talks about as being a mature spiritual person. I guess somebody might break it into levels, but the Bible doesn’t do that at all, and I hope that helps answer that question for you. Okay, thank you much. I think preachers like to make outlines, and sometimes they imply things that are really not there in the Bible, and people think that they’re outlined as somewhere in the Scriptures when it is not.
That wraps up today’s question and answer segment. They will witness during the first three and a half years of the tribulation, and millions will get saved. We find that in verse 9, it says, after this, I beheld in low a great multitude, which no man could number of all nations and kindreds and people and tongues, stood before the throne and before the lamb, clothed with white robes and palms in their hands.
These I believe are the result of the 104 or 4 thousands of angelism, and notice there will be millions. I think there will be millions of Jews, along with millions of Gentiles around the world of all different nations and different racial groups. We’ll come to know the Lord. All different kinds of nations, kindreds, people, tongues, stood before the throne. Verse 10, they cried with a loud voice saying, Salvation to our God, which siteth upon the throne and to the Lamb, the Lamb being Christ.
And all the angels stood round about the throne and about the elders and the four living creatures and fell down before the throne on their faces and worship God, saying that as angels don’t sing it’s always saying, not singing, blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be unto our God forever and ever, amen. And one of the elders answered saying into me, who are these that are raised in white robes? And whence came they?
I said unto him, sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, these are they which came out of what? Great tribulation and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the land. So I believe these are ones who get saved in the first three and a half years. And then during the intense time when the Antichrist will kill, remember we found under the fifth seal, he kills and martyrs, Jews and Christians. And we find that here we have many, many, many, many standing before the Lord that are martyred out of the great tribulation.
Notice they’ve washed the robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. How were we saved by being washed by the blood of the Lamb? What can wash away our sin? Nothing but the blood. The hymn writer said, nothing but the blood, nothing but the blood, nothing but the blood. And so our, their robes were washed, they were made white in the blood of the Lamb. Speaking of our sins being taken away and we’re seen by God as righteous in its sight due to what Christ did.
In chapter 5 you might remember when they spoke about the lamb being worthy to take the scroll out of the hand of the Father. It says here in verse 9, Thou was slain and that’s redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every… Kindred and tongue and people and nation. So the book of Revelation is the book of the blood. And every place we look, we see salvation is by the death and shed blood of Christ. Revelation 1, 5 says unto him that loved us and washed us from our sins in his own blood.
It’s the book of the blood, the Bible is the book of the blood. Without the shedding of blood, the Bible says in Hebrews, There is no remission for sin. Hebrews 922. So blood had to be shed, and only the blood of Christ could have washed away our sin. And He’s the one that saves them, the 144,000 bring the gospel to them, and they get saved. They get washed to their sins by the blood of Christ. Verse 15. It says, therefore are they before the throne of God?
And what? their harps sitting on a cloud, floating, you know, most people have that impression. But what is going to happen in heaven? What? They notice her before the throne of God and serve him, serve him, serve him day and night, no sleep necessary in our new bodies in heaven. And they will serve him day and night in his temple. And he that dwells on the throne shall dwell among them. So here we find that I believe all going to serve God will be given jobs, I think very rewarding, things that God will have us to do.
And even before the fall, even before men sinned the garden, they were given a job, weren’t they? They were to tend the garden, so they were gardeners. I’m sure very rewarding and fulfilling to do what God and ask them to do. Work is not the curse, but God placed a curse on the earth so that you would have to work harder under the curse to get the same type of benefit that you would before God cursed the earth. But work was never a curse.
You’re about the one guy who got fired because of illness. He said he was tired or sick of work. I think I read of him. verse 16, Paul I like the universe 15, it says he said of them the throne shall dwell among them. And that is, notice the intimacy here as the Lord comes down off of his throne and dwells among us. It’s going to be a wonderful time where the Lord mingles with us and wants to have intimacy with us.
Verse 16, they shall hunger no more, need the thirst anymore. And the Lord is of course, We won’t need to eat and heaven, but apparently we’ll eat for pleasure. It says that they won’t hunger, neither will they thirst. Neither shall the sun light on them nor any heat because the light in the New Jerusalem and in heaven will be from God himself. And then it says in verse 17, for the languages in the midst of the throne shall what feed them.
So I believe we’ll get to eat for enjoyment. We won’t need to eat to survive. And we won’t have to worry about indigestion, overweight, cholesterol, superfries, McDonald’s burgers, and all the things that are in the news today. We won’t worry about eating. But we will eat, apparently, the sandwiches in the midst of the room shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of water. So we’ll eat and drink in heaven, but I think it will be for enjoyment.
God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. So what a wonderful place that will be where we will have our tears wiped away. Chapter 8 verse 1. Chapter 7 was about God’s evangelism program during the tribulation period. 144,000 will become saved and millions will become saved as a result of their evangelism. Chapter 8 when you open the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. This is a law before the judgment sound that we’re about to read about in chapter 8.
So it says here now after this period of silence, verse 2 of chapter 8, I saw seven angels which stood before God, and two of them were given seven trumpets, and now we’re going to have the seven trumpet judgments. Another angel came and stood at the altar. This is of the true temple in heaven, which was the pattern for the temple made here on the earth. And it says here, having a golden sensor, that’s a golden shovel. Can you imagine a shovel made of pure gold?
And it was given in a much incense that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar, which was before the throne. In the tabernacle and in the temple there was an altar of incense. And the priest would offer this incense on the altar. And as the incense went up, the people outside would be praying. That happened with Zacharias in Luke chapter 1. Remember the story. Zacharias, who became the father of John the Baptist.
His duty was to serve at the altar of incense. And he went inside. The people outside were praying. it says in Luke 1, and he’s offering up the incense, and the incense goes up and it’s a picture of the prayers of the believers being carried up to God. And while he’s doing that, all of a sudden an angel appears to him and says, Zachariah, your prayer has been answered. You know? I would imagine he was fully concentrating on doing his job and the incense was going up and outside people were praying and the picture was their prayers going up and God answering the prayers of the people, and here Zechariah himself was going to have his prayer answered.
What was it that they would have a child? And the angel Gabriel told him that your wife Elizabeth is going to conceive and bear son and they’ll call his name John. That was John the Baptist, the last of the Old Testament prophets, and it was at the altar of incense when that happened. Now it says in verse 4, and the smoke of the incense which came with prayers of the saints. Notice it was symbolic and came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand.
So here are the instances going up, the people outside are praying, and this is a picture of the prayers ascending up before God. Thanks for listening to Bible Eye with Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Be sure to tune in to another edition of Bibleline from Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida. As long as you’re thinking in terms of works you have to wait until after you die till all the works are added up or or weighed in the scale and then it is determined whether you make heaven or not. But according to the Bible it’s not by works. It’s God’s gift that Jesus purchased it by His death at the cross and by His shed blood and so at the moment you believe you receive everlasting life and it’s a present possession.
And so I have eternal life right now. I I received it when I was 18 and I trusted Jesus Christ as my only means of reaching heaven. I still possess it and will next week, next year, 10 years from now, 100 years from now, a million years from now, a billion years from now, I’ll still have everlasting life because it’s eternal life. I don’t know why some people don’t really say what they’re really believing, but a lot of people believe that Christ gives temporary life.
If you go to some churches, they offer a trial period. If you go to some churches, they offer probation, not salvation. You see, according to the Bible, it’s eternal life, or God chose the wrong words to describe it. the Bible is called eternal life or everlasting life and it’s forever and ever and ever and ever and begins at the moment of belief when you receive everlasting life as a present possession. And if you believe on Christ as your Savior the word from the Greek means to trust that Christ died and shed his blood and paid your sin debt and full was buried in rose again from the dead.
When you trust him you receive it and then you’ll possess it from that moment on forever. How about you? If you believe you can lose it, then you’re teaching that Christ only gives temporary life. If you’re teaching that you can lose it, then you’re saying that Christ gives you probation, not salvation. You’re on trial. You are waiting for the results to come in. And that’s not what the Bible teaches at all. The results are already in. Jesus, 2000 years ago, said it is finished.
And that means paid in full. full satisfaction received for the sin dead. I love that old hymn. Jesus paid it all to Him. I owe sin had left a crimson stain, but He washed it as white as snow. Many churches would have to change the words of that hymn and sing, Jesus paid only part. I’ll pay part myself. Oh, I’d hate to be in that boat Because if you paid for part, let me just tell you what that would mean.
The Bible says in Romans 6, 23, the wages of sin singular is death. If you paid for just one sin, just one, you’d go to hell. The wages of sin singular is death. You don’t want to pay for one sin. Jesus paid for every sin that you would ever commit in your whole lifetime, and there’s one sin only that’s unpardonable. reject the provision that God has made for your sin in Christ, that He paid the pull and complete payment for your sin, and if you reject Him then there’s no hope.
Because you’ll stand before God without a Savior, without a provision for your sin. You’ll stand before God in your own good works which are filthy rags in God’s sight and you’ll never be admitted to heaven. Jesus said it very clearly in John 14, 6, I am the way he said, the truth and the life, and no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. How are you going to get to heaven? Unless it’s through Christ alone, and his death at the cross of Calvary, and his shed blood, and the fact that he was buried, and that he rose again from the dead, you will not make heaven.
It’s that simple. Why not take God at his word and trust him as your Savior right now? tell the Lord in a silent prayer, Lord, I am a sinner. We all are. But I trust Jesus Christ right now as the one who died for me, that he paid for my sin debt and full by his death, and shed blood was buried and rose again from the dead. I trust him to save me to forgive me right now. The moment you do that, God of the Heaven knows, and he saves you.
