Forty years (a generation) into this dispensation in AD 70 the Romans slaughtered millions of Jews and dispersed them among the nations. There is another forty-year (a generation) prophecy at the end of this dispensation. Jesus spoke of the resurrection of Israel, as the Jews would become a nation again, in the parable of the fig tree. He says, “…Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, til all these things be fulfilled.”

and we hope you’ll take advantage of that. No doubt about it, we’re living in an exciting time in history when we believe Jesus Christ is about ready to return to the planet Earth. The major sign is the return of the Jewish people to the state of Israel. In case you didn’t know, in 8070, when the Romans besieged Jerusalem, the Jewish people lost their homeland and they lost their capital city of Jerusalem. For two thousand years the Jewish people have been scattered around the nations of the world.
And in 1948 Israel became a nation again for the first time in two thousand years. Back in Isaiah there’s a prophecy where it says that Israel would become born in one day and obviously that must be a reference to the date in May of 1948 when Israel declared its independence and became a nation again. We are living obviously in the last days as they are defined by the Jewish people returning back to the state of Israel and the Jews are going to be readied to receive their king, Messiah who will rule over them as King of the Jews, but also over all the nations of the earth as King of kings and Lord of lords.
But Jerusalem is going to become the world’s capital. That’s right. This is the city that the Bible says will become the capital of the world, and Jesus will become the ruler over the whole planet and the earth will finally be at peace for a thousand year earthly kingdom. Back in Zechariah the prophet in chapter 2 there is an incredible verse where Jerusalem is told to rejoice about a future event which really is the second coming of Christ. It says, Sing and Rejoice O daughter of Zion, for lo I come.
And this is the Lord Himself saying He is going to come to the earth and of course He will come in the person of Jesus Christ and rule over the earth as King of Kings in Lord of Lords. He says, Sing and rejoice O daughter of Zion, for lo I come and I will dwell in the midst of the saith of the Lord. So the Lord Himself will come and He will actually dwell in Jerusalem. Also Jerusalem is to rejoice and sing because the king is coming.
Jesus Christ is that king. We find it says in verse 11, and many nations shall be joined to the Lord in that day. And shall be my people. I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the Lord of Host has sent me unto you. A clear reference to Jesus being sent by the Father and Jesus the Son will come and dwell in the midst of the Jewish people and in the midst of Jerusalem. In verse 12 it says, and the Lord shall inherit Judah, his portion in the Holy Land, and shall choose Jerusalem again.
So Jerusalem will be the world’s capital and God will choose Jerusalem as the place where He will rule the earth from. Then it says in verse 13, Be silent, O all flesh, before the Lord, for He is raised up out of His holy habitation. A lot of churches sing a opening hymn to begin the service that talks about being silent. And of course that is not really the true application. This is when Jesus comes back, the whole earth needs to recognize that God himself has come to the earth and he comes out of his holy habitation to rule and to reign on the planet earth from Jerusalem over Israel and over all the nations of the world.
We are about ready to see that happen. The Bible tells us that before it happens, the rapture will take place. And all believers will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air. And from that point on we’ll be forever with the Lord. Meanwhile, back on the earth, the last seven years of the Old Testament. The age of law will tick off the clock and will be back on Jewish territory and the Jews will go through a time of trouble called in Jeremiah chapter 30, the time of Jacob’s trouble where Jacob or Israel will be tried through the fires of the tribulation period and ready to receive their Messiah.
And this second go round they will accept Jesus as their Savior and Christ will come back and rule and reign over them from Jerusalem. Exciting days and certainly we see the world lining itself up for the tribulation period. Wars and rumors of wars, North Korea certainly got our attention. Apparently they’re going to launch some more rockets today so we’re watching what is happening here as we read the Bible. It tells us that there would be distress of nations without solution.
It would be wars and rumors of wars and numerous other things that would be happening and they’re all happening right now. They’re beginning to take place and of course once the rapture happens then they’ll become full-blown and blossom as the tribulation period will be underway once the church is raptured out. But we’re getting close. I’m not a date-setter, but I don’t think we have a whole lot of time left until Jesus comes back. How many signs have to be present?
Signs in the Sun. We talked to you about the exclamation point that’s right there on the surface of the Sun. Go to spaceweather.com and look up the picture that they displayed for June 26th and you’ll see that exclamation point 150,000 miles long right on the face of the Sun. Wow, that’s an interesting sign. Plus the rocket’s going into space, the space shuttle going up to launch rather to rendezvous with the space station out in space and we’re just seeing signs in our heavens and on the earth, distress of nations and of course the weather patterns that we see incredible.
All right, we’re going to go to the callers in just a second. I’m Dr. Englands from this Bibleline. We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida, and we look forward to being with you each and every day. Thanks again for tuning in. And by the way, you can now go and catch our radio programs and our television programs on the internet by going to my website, BibleLineMinistries.org.com. Click on either the spinning globe which takes you to the radio or the little TV set that will take you to the television programs and we hope that you’ll enjoy.
Call us and let us know what you’re thinking about that if you are trying it and enjoying that that will give you a chance to watch our television programs actually in advance of when they’re actually aired on the air on television. So take a look at it. Alright we’re going to go ahead and open up the phone lines here. The phone number is 1-800-100-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. Alright we have off the air, Ray in Lakeland, Florida calls in and he says, if you deny me I will deny you in front of the Father.
Before Christ, how were these people saved? Well, I’m not too sure what this question is really saying, but in Matthew chapter 10, you have that phrase, if you deny me, I’ll deny you. It has to do with rewards. It has to do with witnessing. If you fail to witness to people and tell them about Christ as being Savior, then Christ will have to deny your rewards. You’ll notice the word reward occurs five times at the end of Matthew 10 and that’s what he’s talking about.
So if you are witnessing and acknowledging the Lord and telling people how to be saved by simply trusting in his death and shed blood that he was buried, that he rose again from the dead as the only means of their salvation, then Christ will contest you to the Father. The Father will acknowledge your witnessing and your living for Christ and he will reward you. you deny them, then you’ll be denied any rewards and that’s what it’s talking about. But everybody’s always been saved from Genesis to Revelation through faith alone in Christ alone.
Off the earth, Chris in Tampa, Florida calls in, she says in the book of Proverbs, wisdom is a person. Is that Jesus Christ? And the answer is yes. that’s in Proverbs chapter 8 and obviously wisdom is personified there and that is really a glimpse of Jesus who is wisdom. Alright we have off the air, Alberta. From Albany County, New York saying, in John 21-20, it says betray us. Who? Well, let me take a look at the verse and see what it’s saying there.
John’s Gospel, chapter 21, I’m turning there as we speak. And I’m almost there. John chapter 21 verse 20, almost there. John 21, it says, then Peter turning about, see if the disciple whom Jesus loved following that was John, which also leaned on his breast at the supper and said, Lord, who was he that betrayed thee? And of course that’s talking about Judas, and Judas was the one who would betray Jesus Christ, and of course Judas was never a believer in that incredible.
And Judas went to hell not because he betrayed Christ but because he never ever trusted Christ as his Savior. So, the reference is to Judas and you’ll find if a good cross-reference is John 664 to the end of the chapter where Judas is described as the one who would betray Christ but also in John 664 it tells us that Jesus knew from the beginning who it was that believed not and who should betray him speaking of you this is just never a believer all right we’re gonna go now to donna in for waltin beach and on a welcome to bible and you’re on the air morning dot hank good morning well i’m really enjoying your uh…
bible line tv shows on light for dot com one of the morning and last night and it was really good on daniel prophecy And the clarity of the on the internet screening is very good. It’s just top notch and I’m just thrilled that it’s up and running now. Well, that’s going to be a blessing. I think for a lot of our listeners, they’re going to be able to use their internet access and get our TV programs out 24-7 just like they have been able to get the radio programs.
And we’re very excited about that. and I’m glad you’re the first person to report into us that you have seen it and enjoyed it. It’s just great and I hope a lot of people will check it out and just click on that television icon and sit at the globe and you’ll go right to it. There you go. I just have a quick question. I know that prophecy and parables and the whole book of Revelation being prophecy, how is it as a Bible scholar?
were you able to interpret the meanings of what they were actually saying i know the bible bible supposed to be interpreted literally but uh… things like danielle and the parables and most all of revelation how were you able to do that well it’s called right the dividing the word of truth according to the second to fifty and the bible is the best commentary on the bible and obviously whatever interpretation you have has to bring all of the Bible verses into harmony so that you come out with agreement because the Bible doesn’t contradict itself.
God is obviously the author of the Bible and therefore if it is indeed his book which it is, he’s not going to contradict himself. So the interpretation has to match up with the rest of God’s word. I know a lot of commentaries that I read give interpretations that really cannot be right because they contradict other passages. So the rule has to be that everything has to harmonize. But also I think as Dr. Scofia points out, you do have to also recognize, and we have this on our website where you can read his whole booklet on how to interpret the Bible rightly divided into word of truth.
He talks about the different dispensations and that you obviously need to recognize that there are certain things that are not for us today that are part of a closed dispensation. For example, we are not to offer animal sacrifices today. That was under the age or dispensation of law. Now we are under grace and we are no longer under the law. were no longer obligated to offer up animal sacrifices. Of course, they were all pointing to Jesus and he came and fulfilled those sacrifices by himself becoming our sacrifice and so on.
So I think you have to really… A lot of people are going to come out just fine. A lot of people are going to come out just fine. A lot of people are going to come out just fine. Daniel is exposed or revealed or explained by many of the passages in Revelation and other places. It’s like working your way through a math book. When you get to the final chapters, you can’t read the most famous final chapters unless you have worked your way through the first chapter.
chapters. So some of the things that are difficult take time. Right. And luckily we ran across YouTube as someone to teach us and listen to it because I just love the way you go verse by verse and our paragraph and then explain it. It’s been real helpful for me and I’m sure to others too. But anyway we’re just all behind you and we’re just thrilled about this new part of Bibleline. And hopefully, there will be a lot of people that will not only enjoy it, but contribute financially because I believe your ministry is very specially blessed and could use the funding to keep it going.
Amen. Well, thank you Donna for that. And you all have a wonderful day up there in Fort Walton Beach. Basically, we’ll be all in you two. All right. And that was done in Fort Walton Beach and we are excited about bringing now the television to you. It costs money to be on the air. It costs money for us to put this out there. And we certainly could use your help, especially as we have just launched this new ministry. It costs considerable sum.
So maybe you could help us with a special gift to get this up and go on. We just reached out and grabbed this opportunity because we felt it was so worthwhile and we really don’t have the funds to pay for it. So we are trusting God to supply and maybe some of you that are listening might say I’ll be a part of that I’ll help and we really could use your help and it is expensive. I don’t get paid nor does our staff to be on the radio or television but we send all of our money out to reach out as far as we can and we really put ourselves risk in a way that we leap beyond what we have, but we trust that God can supply, and so maybe you’d like to help us, which would be great.
You can send a gift to Bibleline by mail, or you can give a gift by credit card over the phone. If you call or 800-Never, we’ll be glad to give you the address, or you can get that off of our Internet site, Bibleline Ministries.org. We’re going to go to Jerry in Newport, Ritchie, and Jerry, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Good morning, Hank. Hank, God bless you sir, appreciate your ministry. I wanted to just make a comment about the subject that came up quite a bit yesterday and that was speaking in tongues.
When I was 16 years old I got saved and I was dating a Pentecostal girl and so I was quite familiar with tongues and so forth and then she and I could never get together because of the eternal security because I was going to a different church and different Sunday school and believe in the internal security. But I quite familiar with Pentecostal Church and the speaking in tongues and so forth and observe these folks over the years and have made many great friendships with Pentecostal folks who believe in speaking in tongues.
What I’ve noticed is those that are slain in the Spirit and those that speak in tongues and so forth and so on. When the tragedies come into their lives, just like they do everybody else, even though they seem they think they’re maybe on a higher level because they’ve spoken in tongues and a poor fellow like me never did that, you know. I was never slaying the spirit. But when tragedies or hard times come to life, they fall apart. Many of them fall by the wayside just like everybody else.
And so why they feel that they’ve got something that everybody else does not have, and yet it doesn’t pay off when hard times come. Well, you’re right. And I think they are just sidetracked by the devil. The gibberish they’re doing is not tongue. And of course the major doctrinal error is that they can lose their salvation, which which really means that they are working to get it and keep it, which means therefore Because salvation is not a work that they’re not saved at all.
And that’s the scary part is that they think they’re saved and think they’re on their way to heaven. But if you’re trusting in your works, you can’t be saved because the Bible says salvation is not a works. It’s the gift of God. And unless you trust Christ alone, as the only means of your salvation, you’re really trusting yourself, and you become the Savior, not Christ. And therefore you’re not saved. And that’s the scary part. I think we need to pray that their eyes can be opened and with their chasing tongues, and it keeps them preoccupied where they’re not seeing the truth of salvation, which is the major thing they need to take a look at.
I certainly agree. My heart goes out to these folks. It really does. Because I’ve just seen them fall apart, the marriages fall apart and so forth and so on. Yet they always told me, wow, we’ve got something that you don’t have. I know it’s on here. They’re very condescending. I’ve had them come to me and say, have you received the… the baptism of the Holy Spirit. And of course I always say absolutely every believer does at the moment. Amen.
But they’re trying to make us think that they have something that we don’t have something that they have. Can I just make one more comment? Yeah, go ahead. In my job I retired in the Sheriff’s office and went over to Barco area time and time and time again. over there on the route to Barco. There’s a sign at a church that says you can upgrade your salvation. And that just flew all over me. Like God couldn’t get it right so you had to go to that church to upgrade it.
You know, it just drives me nuts. I agree with you. Thanks a lot Jerry for calling in. We’re not going to go to our station break and then come back and do Bible and Part Two. So don’t go away. Don’t change that now. I’ll be right back after this short break. So stay tuned right here. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Alright, I’m Dr. Englund. It’s great to be with you today.
Thanks for tuning in to the broadcast. If you are listening up in Richmond, Virginia, I know we have a caller waiting from Richmond, the station to be the BDK has been sold. And so in one more week we will no longer be on the air on that station. But we are on in Chester, Virginia, 820 on the AM dial. You need to mark that down if you’re in Richmond because you’ll be able to hear that station, I believe WGGM820 on the AM dial and that’s Chester, Virginia and that’s on every day right now and you might have to switch over and so you don’t lose us because the 1380 station will go silent as far as Bible and is concerned in just one more week.
So all of you people in Richmond, please make a note of switching over to listen to 820 WGGM in Chester, Virginia, which is heard there in Richmond. And we hope that you won’t miss a beat. And also remember our internet site where you can catch us 24 hours a day, seven days a week from anywhere in the world. And certainly there in Richmond, you’ll be able to get our radio program on the internet. So check all that out. Of course, with the internet, you can listen to it at your pleasure anytime of day that fits your schedule.
We’re so excited about now our television programs being offered on the internet. If you just go to my website, BibleLineMinistries.org.com, you can click on the little TV set up in the right-hand corner beneath the spinning globe and that will connect you to the television programs and the archives. You’ll be able to watch quite a number of shows as we build up the archives there and you’ll be able to watch the latest show even before it airs on television. Today is our television day.
We were on the dish early this morning at 7 a.m. Eastern time. We’ll be on direct TV at 6.30 this evening and we hope that you’ll take advantage of watching it on channel 321 World Harvest Television Channel 321 on Direct TV at 6.30 p.m. Eastern time tonight. That’s nationwide so everybody could catch that show. if they watch it at six thirty eastern time. We’re going to be. You can go to the Internet and catch the full program, which I hope you will do, but also pray for Bibleline and consider helping us as we are expanding outward and we can use your prayers and your financial gift.
So keep your radio dial tuned right where it is. We are going to rejoin the stations that have been on break and will do Bibleline Part Two. So don’t go with that. Bible and Part 2. So don’t go away. Keep it tuned right here. This is Bible and I’m Dr. Anker Lindstrom and we’re going to do the second half hour. Would you like to call Bible and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771.
That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. All right, we’re through that break and this is Bible and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios at the Calvary Community Church and we look forward to being with you each and every day brand new We are streaming our television programs now on Bible and and just go to the website BibleLineMinistries.org You’re calm click on the little TV set up in the top right hand corner and you’ll be connected and and you might have to download the Flash Media Player to be able to see the video part, but that’s something hopefully you’ll be able to figure out how to do, and we’re going to try to make it easier for you on our website so that you can download that if you don’t have that feature, because you need that to be able to watch it.
But we just heard from a caller, Donna, up in Fort Walton Beach who said the quality is great, and they’re excited about being able to watch the television programs as well as hear the radio programs and you’ll have the capacity to download those into your video ipods so you’ll be able to carry the programs with you and play them wherever you go. That’s exciting and again you can do that at your leisure and we’re excited about that. Tonight our television program is on at 630 on Direct TV nationwide, 630 Eastern Standard time on Channel 321 World Harvest Television and of course at 7 o’clock in the Tampa Bay area we’re on Channel 22 WCLF which is the Christian television network and that’s on all over the West Coast of Florida on broadcast television or on cable so take a look at that tonight at 7 and of course we’re excited about next
Tuesday July 11th we’re going to be starting those classes again that I’d like to teach and we’ll be teaching first and second thessalonians beginning Tuesday night the 11th of July from 7 till 9 for five weeks. We’d love to have you in the classroom. There is a charge but if that is an obstacle and you’re within driving distance I’ll be glad to give you a scholarship. We’re trying to use that as an opportunity to also meet Bible and expenses but if you can’t afford it we don’t want to keep you out of the classroom, that’s for sure.
So just come and whisper in my ear and we’ll let you sit in even if you don’t have the finances because it’s not about money. We’re really not trying to get your money. We really are trying to get the gospel out and we don’t want to hinder you from being able to get in these great classes. We are going to record them. They will be available for anybody who would like to get those classes. And so beginning July for five weeks.
We’ll teach ten hours on these wonderful eight chapters in first and second pestilonians what a great two books they are and you’ll I believe greatly benefit by listening to these classes if you can’t come in person get the CDs. Again we thank all of you who give to Bibleline and pray for Bibleline. This would be a great time to pitch and help us. We’ve launched out with this broadcasting our TV programs on the internet. Here’s something else where you get your pen ready.
Get ready to jot this down. You can also go to Google and type in video and then you’ll get another window where you can either type in Bibleline or my name Hank Lindstrom or Dr. Hank Lindstrom and there you’ll get a bunch more of our television programs on Google. You might want to try that out. So there’s all kinds of places where we’re putting ourselves out there. Again, go to Google, type in video, and then when you get the next little window there, type in Bibleline or Dr.
Englunds from or Hanklunds from, and there you go. You’ll be getting a lot of our video television right there on Google. We’re trying to get ourselves out everywhere and we certainly need your prayers as we expand outward. And again, nothing is free. And so we trust that God will supply through our listeners, which this is a good time for you to help us. We have launched where we really don’t have the funds to pay for it, but we are trusting that God will supply through people just like you who are concerned about our world today.
and we’re concerned as well. Worldnut Daily broke a story today that apparently there is a plan that’s been kind of hidden behind the scenes to join Mexico and Canada as a part of an American Union and build a super highway across our country connecting the two and how that lots of goods will be brought in from Asia and from China and offloaded into Mexico and then driven across the super highway to Pointe, in America and also Canada. And obviously this is something that will put a lot of Americans out of jobs and a lot of things are going to be changing in this rapidly changing world we’re living in.
Interesting, you might want to take a look at that front page article on World that Daily today is a brand new breakthrough on what is happening behind the scenes. No wonder the borders they don’t want to close them because this is going to be an open border deal where we will be like one country with Mexico and Canada under this new plan that’s kind of being exposed at this very moment. That’s on today’s World Not Daily front page. Anyway, I know So Jesus is coming and things are happening so rapidly, things are changing so quickly that it’s hard to keep up with all of it, but we do know that the major signs are in place for the return of Christ, the Jews are back in the state of Israel and we see the nations align themselves like the Bible said that they would.
We obviously see Satan’s attempt to bring about one world government one world order and You see all of these barriers through trade agreements and other agreements, reducing the world to one world government. And obviously the ecumenical movement bringing about a one world church. And we are seeing what the Bible said would happen thousands of years ago, actually happening in our age right now. Pray for Bibleline. And we certainly pray for our audience. We appreciate each and every one of you.
And remember again, if you’re up in Richmond, Virginia, you will no longer be able to hear us on 1380 in another week and you need to switch over to 820 on your dial to WGGM in Chester, which can be heard there in Richmond. So we’re now going to go to Wilburn in Richmond, Virginia and Wilburn. Welcome to Bible End. Good morning, Dr. Hank. Have you tried the Chester station? Can you hear where you are? Yes, but the one that’s going off there, I did call that station and try to inquire who was going to sort of take it over what not.
And it kind of seemed like it wasn’t going to be really a viable based program. No, the whole format is changing. So Christian programming will go off the air on that station. Well, I asked if it was going to remain a Christian station and the response was yes, But then I asked another question which I won’t go into and it led me to believe that it will not be a Bible based, you know, sound. Well anyway, we want our listeners to keep listening to Bible and so they’ll have to switch over to the Chester station.
Do you have a question for us, Wilbur? Yes, it’s just amazing. The amount of tremendous increase of false preaching that’s going on and the things that false creatures are promising people and telling them what type of experiences they can have with angels and so forth and what they should get in this world materially. So my question is for believers, what does the Bible promise in this life spiritually and materially in this life? Well, the Bible says that you might be poor.
It doesn’t, and you might get sick and you probably, you are going to die after about 70 or 80 years. So this world is not where it’s at. And I like what the old hymn writer wrote. This world is not my home. I’m just passing through. My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue. The Bible commends all those down through time that had that kind of perspective. In Hebrew chapter 11 when you read the so-called Hall of Fame chapter, it says these all died not having received the promises because they were future beyond death, but they looked for a city, a heavenly city, which is of course the New Jerusalem where all of this would come to pass and we’d ultimately be with the Lord and all of the treasures and the riches of heaven would become ours and will live in the presence of the
Lord forever and all of that. never, never. So if you’re looking for everything here, your perspective is wrong. And if anything, it says in 2 Timothy chapter 3 that the ye, all those who live godly in Christ Jesus, shall suffer persecution. So the Bible talks about if you’re going to live for Christ, you are going to experience some persecution and opposition because of that. And of course, Christ also said in the Gospel of Matthew, be aware when all men speak well of you because obviously you’re not going to be well spoken of by everybody if you are going to be speaking what God wants you to speak from his word.
And so there will be those who will criticize you and those who will reject what you have to say and those that will probably curse you for that. And so the Bible tells us to rejoice when we’re persecuted for Christ’s sake because great is our reward in heaven. So the rewards are in heaven and we need to not try to look for our rewards here. Are we promised the fruit of the Spirit here? Of course, anybody who yields themselves to obey the Lord can experience the Spirit’s fruit in our life.
And you see that in Galatians 5, 22, and 23, where the fruit of the Spirit is ninefold, but it’s the Spirit’s fruit. But also, we are also to bear fruit, which is to reproduce ourselves and the fruit of a Christian is to bear other Christians. So as we witness and lead people to Christ and we have spiritual children and that’s the fruit of the Christian, but the fruit of the spirit is also ours as we yield to obey. Okay.
Okay. Well, thank you for answering that. You’re very welcome. Thank you, Wilbur, and then he’s coming from Richmond. All of us in Richmond need to be alert to the change you’ll have to listen on the other station 820 on the AM dial of your radio. We have Jose in Seminole, Florida. Jose, welcome to Bibleline. Yes. Hi, Hank. How are you? Good. That’s good. I was just listening to a woman earlier who was talking about the Book of Daniel and the processes in it.
And I was thinking of calling you on a couple of other things, but one thing that was thick is saying in my mind that I really wanted to ask you about, and maybe you can answer this more appropriately later, but see if you can give me a quick hand. Quick answer now. Since you have other callers waiting. But my question is, the body of Christ, which is the church. Did any of those Old Testament prophets up until the apostles know about the body of Christ and the grace still church?
Yes. The answer is no. In Ephesians chapter 3, it tells us that this was hid in God from before the foundation of the earth and not revealed until after Israel had clearly rejected their Messiah because his offer to them of the kingdom when he came the first time was a bona fide offer. So God in his foreknowledge knew that they would turn him down and reject Christ and the kingdom would be postponed for two thousand years and God would turn to the Gentiles.
So if you read Ephesians chapter 3, it’s quite clear that it was not known, it was hid and they did not know it. So the church is not in the Old Testament except in type and picture. We can look back and see it pictured there. In Genesis chapter 22 you have Abraham offering up his son Isaac which is a picture of the crucifixion. In chapter 23 following that you have the death of Sarah, a picture of Israel being dead and buried for the past 2000 years.
And in chapter 24 of Genesis you have Isaac getting a bride as the Holy Spirit pictured by Elie Azer Abraham’s oldest servant going into a far country to get a bride for Isaac a picture of the church as the Holy Spirit is in dwelling the believers of this age and gathering together a body which is the bride of Christ for Christ when he comes back at the rapture. and then after The church is raptured out, which is pictured at the end of chapter 24.
In chapter 25 of Genesis, you have Abraham getting married again as Sarah had died to Katora, and that’s a picture of God going back to dealing with Israel again. And that’s exactly what will happen right after the rapture during the tribulation period. So those types are in many places in the Old Testament. That’s just one that came to my mind. But you can see how that it’s everywhere, but you wouldn’t have been. Yes, that if you didn’t know the New Testament record and go back and look for it There you can see plain as they got knew what was going to take place and they gave us that beautiful picture in the life of Abraham So this thing that we’re part of the Church, which is literally the body of Christ in the spirit, right?
Yeah, we are priced into… Oh absolutely unique thing in history even I mean even the apostles the 12 apostles the original 12 Had no idea to my grand. Even right after the resurrection they were saying, Lord will you at this time restore you the kingdom? And he tells them that they weren’t to know when the kingdom would be set up, but they were now to be a part of the brand new plan that the Holy Spirit would come upon all the believers and they would be witnesses unto him and all the world.
And of course it turns out that God is using Gentiles to be his witnesses during his 2000 years. And so God will return back to using the Jews as his witnesses once the rapture happens. And now I have another dilemma or question for you. He said, You know, the Bible is not a word in the Bible, but the Bible is not a word in the Bible. of the trial, recommendations or rules and laws that were given to the people who were saved but not part of the body of Christ.
Would you say that those are still applicable? Probably not, correct? Well, obviously God never intended us to break them, but we now approach them from a different perspective. not under the law, but we are now under, in a sense, a higher law, the law of love or the law of liberty, where we do things from the heart, not because we’re commanded. And if we love the Lord with all of our heart and if we love our neighbor as ourself, then we’re going to fulfill all the Old Testament law without even trying.
Because if you love your neighbor, you’re not going to steal from him. If you love your neighbor, you’re not going to lie to him. If you love your neighbor, you’re not going to murder him. And so the commandments are all fulfilled in the law of love. So as a believer, we’re under grace or under love. And we are not without law, but we are under a higher law, which we do it from the heart. So those teachings then, of course, but not to us then, would you say that to the Gentiles that as Christians, we should initially teach, since these quote are apostle, Well, just think that we’re in New Testament.
The New Testament is the 27 books are the fine print of the New Covenant. And the New Covenant came into effect by Christ’s death as he ratified that covenant that whereby he’d save all in the human race. It would simply trust Christ the Savior. The 27 books of the New Testament give us all the fine print. So some focus just on the writings of Paul, but we have Peter and we have the writings of John and all these apostles are giving us the fine print of the New Covenant.
Now what provided the Old Testament New Testament? Was it a what’s action or what’s wrong? It was a timeline. The Old Testament was finished 500 years before Christ. The New Testament wasn’t written until after Christ was already back in heaven. So obviously it was about 550 years between the completion of the Old Testament and the beginning of the New Testament. So it’s very clear that the Old Testament was a completed book, 39 books in one book long before Jesus ever came.
And then he said a timeline. What’s your first name? Uh, uh, divide dispensation? Well, I’m now you get me confused, but the Bible is divided by time, obviously. or completed until the end of the first century. Okay, so it’s just a matter of time. Thank you a lot Jose. I appreciate your time. All right. Thanks Jose and I get a little bit confused at the end there but to sure we were mixing up things here. This sensations each have a start in an ending for example the first dispensation that of innocence began in the garden and was ended by man’s failure in eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and then being expelled from the garden.
And then the second dispensation picks up at that particular point. We have George down in Palm Beach Gardens. George, welcome to Bible Inn. Thank you. Good morning. Have a question about a Bible, a particular thing. I have a friend who would like a Bible and I have a new believer’s Bible and a praise and worship study Bible. It’s in a new living translation by Tyndale. Well the new living translation is a paraphrase but also it’s terrible. It implies salvation by works in James 2 where it says you’re justified by or rather you’re saved by works which is a terrible phrase.
Justification by works before God in the way of rewards is taught in James 2 but not justification from our penalty of sin and death and our salvation is never wrought by our works. But also, wherever repent occurs, which the Greek word means change your mind. They just take a word processor. If you look at and compare some of them, you’ll find that they put every place, turn from your sin, turn from your sin, turn from your sin. That’s clearly absolutely wrong in poor scholarship because the Greek word does not ever mean turn from your sin.
It means to change your mind. Meta, Nail, Meta meaning change, Noya meaning mine. But they just took a word processor and turned from your sin. And in Ephesians 4, when it tells us about how Christ went down into the heart of the earth and delivered the saints out of paradise and took them up to heaven and the paradise was emptied out, it just completely deletes that story totally in the new living translation. I just think it’s terrible. You just don’t know where you’re going to be blind-slided and doctrines either rob from you as it does in Ephesians 4-8-10 or where it teaches you wrong doctrine on salvation where they mis-translate repentance, turn from your sin or what you’re going to get.
It’s just I think I wouldn’t have one myself. This new, new believer’s Bible is given out by a church. They have good intentions, I’m sure, but you know. But you know, Tim Taylor who is the author of the living Bible believed in evolution and You can see his influence even in Genesis 1-1 when he says in the beginning when God began all of his creation that phrase opens up a continuous evolutionary process to bring about animals and man and obviously that’s a clear rejection of what the Bible says that God created man right out of the dust of the ground there’s no evolutionary product that man is not the result of a An evolutionary conveyor belt with monkeys starting on at one end men popping off at the other end.
It’s absolutely terrible It’s just and and again, it’s a one man deal and he obviously didn’t get a lot of things right What you say to them what? Ken Taylor Oh, because this uh… He wrote the living Bible the new living. Oh, okay You know, I’m sure was taken and and taken the next step, but they still carry all of his errors with them Oh wow, so it’s one man It’s a it’s a paraphrase paraphrase paraphrase means you can take and express it however you want and obviously they do and they take great liberty and I don’t like the living translation or the new living translation at all.
Let me ask you another question here quick I hope. You see sometimes these bumper stickers you know in case of Rapture this car will be driverless which I don’t approve of stuff like that but you know the question comes up how do you suppose God’s going to work that rapture. I mean we’re all busy in our daily activities and then suddenly I seems to me there’d be more strategy. I don’t know about capable of anything but I don’t think he’ll take me out of a moving car if I’m driving it 70 miles an hour.
Well I think that it will be tragic accident it probably will occur because it’s going to happen. Yeah I mean I don’t think about it when it happens in the moment in the Twiglyman I, some people are going to be doing things that are driving a car and they’ll just be Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Of course, then the tribulation period enters and it enters with apparently a big bang. With lots of tragic events taking place, it will get the attention hopefully of the law.
What was the law that was left behind? I heard a pastor say the other day on the radio that he has studied the Bible. You know, he studied this particular part about being saved many, many times. And he says, if you’re not saved, that wraps you. And not going to get saved. He says he studied it and nobody is. is going to be saved during the tribulation. Well, he’s certainly right. That’s kind of great of what I read. Oh, sure.
I mean, absolutely. It’s made in simple. When you’re in Revelation between chapter 419, you’re in the tribulation period. And chapter 7 verse 9 says he saw a great multitude with no man good number of all nations and kidders and tongues that will become saved during the tribulation period.
