Bibleline Radio Show – 2006-07-05 – Wars and Rumors of War

Are we seeing prophecy fulfilled? Are we in the latter days? Could Christ rapture us out at any moment? I believe the answer to all these questions is yes. When Jesus was asked, “What shall be the sign of thy coming?” He replied saying, “And you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that you be not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet (Matthew 24:6).”

We have many series that will help you learn your Bible. So we are excited to be able about being with you today. We’re going to take a look at the Bible for a few minutes and then of course we’re going to go to our Our callers, including all of you who want to call in today with a question or a comment, and we’re living in exciting days, aren’t we? Signs in the heavens! We watched that shuttle launch yesterday and then also North Korea firing off rockets into the sky.

All kinds of signs in the heavens and of course that huge exclamation point on the sun. You can go to spaceweather.com and go to June 26th and you’ll see a picture of this exclamation point. I mean with a little dot at the bottom and everything else, it’s like 150,000 miles long. That’s quite an interesting phenomena, isn’t it? Signs in the Sun, in the Moon, in the Stars, while we’re seeing heavenly things happening, aren’t we? And of course, on the Earth, nations with distress, with perplexity, without solution, Now look at the problems today with North Korea and other countries in the world.

You know the Bible says in the Prophet Joel that the weak nations would say, I am strong. And look at that. North Korea having some nuclear weapons and now the possibility of maybe delivering them in the near future are saying, look how strong we are. a little nation but strong and also Iran wants to do the same thing and obviously we have the weak nation saying I’m strong it was because of the uh… weapons of mass destruction that we do have available today and of course the weather pattern changes that we see and perhaps uh…

a more uh… dangerous storms coming our way through this hurricane season uh… that could strike the u.s. again as it did last year we’re uh… watching i think the signs of the times. Jesus said in Luke 21, 28, when these things begin to come to pass, then lift up your heads and look up because your redemption draws night. We are living, I think, in those times the Bible has spoken about. And look at what’s happening in Israel. Israel is having some real nightmarish problems, and it’s just the beginning.

We know that once the rapture happens, the Bible says that Israel will go through a time called Jacob’s trouble. Remember Jacob’s name was changed to Israel. His 12 sons became the 12 tribes of Israel and we know that the seven years of tribulation that follow the rapture that lead up to the return of Jesus Christ to rule over this earth will be the most difficult times the world has ever seen and Israel will go through a great time of trouble.

And obviously We are leading up to that right now. And I think this is a time to keep our eyes on Jerusalem and on Israel and what is happening there and how Israel is hated above all nations. Truly these are all in time science. Where are you going to go when you die? I find that most people have never heard a clear gospel presentation. It’s amazing to me how so many preachers and evangelists and those who are so-called witnessing are not giving it to their gospel.

They’re using phrases in terms that are not even biblical. You hear phrases like commit your life to Christ. Well that’s not a gospel invitation. That implies works. It implies that you’re going to live your life in a certain way to get to heaven when the Bible says salvation is not of works. It’s not of yourself, Ephesians 2, 8. And then we hear people say, give your heart or give your life to Christ. I heard an evangelist with a lot of children getting them to recite.

I give my heart to Jesus. I give my heart to Jesus. Supposedly that would save them. That’s not the gospel. The message is what Christ did for us that He died and shed His blood. And when we trust Christ, we don’t give anything to God to be saved. We trust what He has done for us, and when we trust Jesus Christ as our Savior, we become sane. Then you hear so many that say, open your heart’s door and invite Christ into your life or into your heart.

That’s not the gospel. The gospel is that Christ died and shed His blood was buried and rose again from the dead. You must trust that He did that for you. Nowhere in the Bible. Nowhere in the Bible doesn’t say for you to invite Christ into your heart or into your life. It’s amazing today how we have really departed from the biblical language. It’s amazing how the word believe occurs over a hundred times in the gospel of John. And yet it’s almost like a word that has been banished from Christianity today.

I seldom hear it. It’s usually some other false terminology that is replaced it. But the Bible says, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and now shall be saved. when you trust him. Then God saves you. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. This is Bibleline. We’re looking forward to hearing from you. You can dial us up at 1-800-576-3771. Off the air, Carol calls in from Boca Raton, Florida, and she says, where in the Bible is it told when Jesus calmed the waters?

Well, the family’s going through a difficult time, and her mother, who was a little bit older, and she was a little bit older. We’d like to find that verse. Well, it’s at all three of the first three gospels in Matthew 826. I hope you get your pen ready Matthew 826 mark 439 and Luke 824. Let me give you that one more time Mark 826. I hope you’re writing it down mark 439 and Luke 824 Jesus rebukes the storm and it becomes calm and that’s a beautiful passage in each of those three gals.

Matthew 826, Mark 439 and Luke 824. We’re not going to Venice, Florida and there we have Jeff on the line and Jeff welcome to Bible and you’re on the air. Hey Dr. Hank, how you doing? Question for you. How is it possible that a person receives the Holy Salvation, get the grace and does not have a complete makeover in his ways of acting and his attitude. Well, because the Holy Spirit doesn’t have all of you unless you yield yourself to obey the Holy Spirit.

You know, Paul said it, and this is a really great verse in Romans 7. He would say 25 to 30 years at the time when he writes this, and he says in verse 18 of Roman 7, I know that in me that is in my flesh twelve, no good thing. And how to perform that which is good I find not, but the evil that I would not that I do. So there’s a struggle between an old nature we have that is inherited from our birth from Adam and a new birth and a new nature that we have which is from God when we become saved.

And there’s a conflict where we have to make choices and we have to decide are we going obey the new nature and obey the Lord, or obey our old nature. The Bible says this is where the Christian has a conflict and we can have victory when we avail ourselves of the power of the Holy Spirit in our life. The Holy Spirit involves us, but he doesn’t force us to do anything. We have a free will and we can choose to obey our old nature or obey our new nature.

Paul says in Romans 7, 19, the good that I would, I would, I would, I would, I would, not, that I do. And he talks about this law, warring in his members against the new birth, the sinful nature that we’re born with. And he says, who is going to deliver me from the body of this death? And he says, Christ is the answer, of course. Ultimately, when we die or we’re raptured, we’ll no longer be capable of sinning because we’ll get rid of this old nature.

But in the meantime, there’s a struggle for every Christian until you day that a you died Okay, but we can have victory and obviously we have to Make a choice really the the best way to do this is make a lifetime choice and say whenever there’s an opportunity to say yes or no I’m always going to say yes, and that helps you make up your mind if you are one of those who decides on Sunday morning whether you’re going to go to church, you’re probably not a good church attender.

But if you’re already decided, whenever a Sunday comes along, I’m going to say yes, I’ll be there, rain or sleet or snow or sunshine or rain. And the person who’s made that decision about all the decisions he’ll make future hasn’t pretty easy then because you just say, well, there’s no choice here. I’ve already decided yes, and we obey the Lord whatever it might be. Okay, may I ask you one more question? Sure. The, uh, both Paul and John talked about the falling away from faith and it refers to, they refer back to they were never a part of us.

Now, is that? Now is that talking about people that had proclaimed the name of Christ and never really? You know, they were never truly believers. That’s 1 John 2 19 and it says they went out from us because they were not of us. If they’ve been with us, of us, they would have stayed and continued. So sometimes those who depart really are, were never saved. It’s kind of like the parable of the sore. That first group, which I’ve seen sewed them by the wayside, they seem to like what they’re hearing, but Satan comes along and steals that which they’ve heard and they really never get saved and they just go off on their merry way.

The devil is right there to try to prevent somebody from getting saved if he can. So, basically, there’s a lot of people in that category sometimes. We had one good fellow in my church here that for three years was a professed believer that everybody thought really truly was. And then he confessed finally on his own that he finally got saved. All along he just told us what we wanted to hear but then finally after three years I don’t know what brought him to that point, but he said I finally understand it I finally trusted Christ and we were all shocked because we thought this person At least he kept us all fooled we thought he was a genuine believer but apparently he was not Okay, well, I appreciate it dr.

Hank. You’re welcome and thank you Jeff down in Venice Florida and now we’re going to Larry in palm harbor for the and Larry welcome to by one yes doctor Hank good morning good morning yes I saw a bumper sticker the day and I want you to kind of give me a your opinion on it that Jesus was a liberal can you elaborate on this what they’re trying to say and hang up and listen to you on air all right well thank you Larry I I don’t know what they’re trying to say except that obviously Jesus didn’t stay with the traditions of the Pharisees and the scribes, but he really broke their tradition and really went back to the Bible and he explained, you have heard, but let me tell you what the Bible is really saying and you see that numerous times in Matthew 6, 7, 8, 10, 5, 6, 7, 8 where he says,

This is what you’ve heard, this is what you’ve been taught, but let me just tell you what’s really going on. I don’t think that’s what they mean though. I think that this is probably some kind of political statement perhaps, but religiously Christ obviously didn’t stay with the flow. He stayed with the truth of God’s word, and he would quote scripture and say, look, this is what you’ve been taught and this is what you’ve heard, but that’s not what God meant or said, and then he’ll quote the scripture for us.

So I believe that’s probably what really is taking place, but that’s probably not what the intent of the person with the bumper stickers trying to convey But who knows you’d have to ask them I guess to find out for sure. We’re now going to go to Craig down in Port Charlotte, Florida and Craig welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air Yeah, I was looking at Mark 6 East Seishia, Paul, and that believe in my name shall they cast out their devils and they shall speak with new tongues.

I’d like to know when was tongues that we stopped when there was stop manifestation of tongues in the Bible. I’d like to know where in the… Okay. Well, obviously you can see it historically by just reading the New Testament. You find that there are three mentions of tongues. First Corinthians chapter 12 through 14, Ephesians when it lists the gifts and then Romans and Tongues is no longer on the list when you get to Ephesians written later and then Romans written much later The gift is gone and it tells us in 1 Corinthians 13 verses 8 through 10 That it would cease when the New Testament record was complete and I believe that these five Spectacular gifts that you’re mentioning here in Mark 16 17 and 18, all were just temporary gifts.

It seems to give us the reason why they were given. It says then verse 19 of Mark 16, so then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven. That’s the ascension, 40 days after his resurrection, and he sat on the right hand of God. Then it says about the disciples, verse 20, they went forth, and they preached everywhere. The Lord working with them, and here’s the key word, confirming the word with signs following. So they were of a nature of confirming the spoken word and tell the New Testament record was written on a paper and people could read the Scriptures.

So it was a temporary gift to help the disciples as they proclaimed his word, tell the New test records complete. I hope that helps Craig and we do thank you for calling. Did that help a little bit or what? No, it didn’t sir. Okay. What would you like to say? I just don’t. The Bible says it would cease. Where did the Bible did it say that it did that tongues were stopped? I like to know where it says it would stop in 1st Corinthians 13, or 10, it says that tongues would cease that Prophecy would be rendered entirely unnecessary and the gift of knowledge would pass away.

And that would happen when that which is perfect is coming. That has to be the scriptures. The word perfect is used to describe the Bible in James 125 written earlier in 1 Corinthians. Also Psalms 19 says, all the Lord is perfect, the Word of God. And it makes wise the simple and converts the soul. And so we believe when the New Testament record was finished, the gift of tongues ceased, and that seems to be confirmed in history. You don’t see the second and third century Christians speaking in tongues.

You don’t see it during the rest of history up right through the dark ages. You don’t see it during the Reformation. Martin Luther, John Calvin, John Wesley, none of these people claim to speak in tongues. And then you don’t see it with the great of angelism that took place in the 18th century. And that’s when you all the great continents were opened up to the gospel and you have men like deal Moody and Charles Persian and all the other great evangelists that went out.

And it wasn’t until 1906 that we have the counterfeit gift of tongues resumed with the Azusa Street incident in 1906 out there in California. So it’s been gone for two thousand years. That’s not true, sir. Well, that’s not true. Do you speak in tongues? Yes, I do, sir. What language you think you get then right now on the Lord has not I don’t see anywhere in the Bible where it says that the Tongues have ceased okay. Well, let me just ask you this how many people have you led to Christ in your in your gift of Time not in the Bible.

They said that tongues have ceased Well, I’m sorry that you’re wrong It says in first Corinthians 13 8 that tongues would cease when that which is perfect is come and that has already happened And you see the historical history of tongues being gone, and what is happening today is a gibberish. Whatever you’re doing, I would suspect that it’s not the real gift because the real gift is gone. What is being done today is a gibberish, and the real gift was to be easily understood.

1 Corinthians 14-9 says, except you speak by the tongue words, easy to be understood. How shall it be known when it is spoken? You just simply waste your breath and you speak into the air. Verse 22 of 1 Corinthians 14 says tongues were for a sign not to believers but to unbelievers. It was to be used for evangelism. I don’t see anybody doing that today because nobody even understands the gibberish. And if you have the real gift, let’s go to them all together.

I’ll buy dinner afterward. Let’s see what happens. We should have a revival if you’ve got the real gift. Hello. Hello. I’m right here. I’d like to understand how, where is it says that? I have not found it yet. Well, how many times do I have to say it? First Corinthians chapter 13 verses 8 through 10 tell us the tongues would cease and then they obviously did as the later books of Ephesians and Romans, there’s no mention of them, they’re gone.

And so they slipped off the scene and read your history it’s not there for two thousand years not until these is the street incident which is a false movement and is a false uh… tons that it is not the known language the greek word dialectizes used in acts which speaks of a specific dialect of a specific language we have done now in four water del four to john welcome to bible and you’re on the air hi doctor and good morning good morning um…

i have a couple questions if you have the time to answer I was reading the article about Noah’s Ark finding that interesting waiting for a lot more news on it. But what would have been the, what would, what would, what would that have had a purpose with the dinosaurs? I mean, they were so long before, I, I, I believe they were so long before the Ark and, and isn’t there evidence of possibly two, two worlds to Earth? Well, I believe so.

I believe verse one tells us of the original creation and according to Isaiah 45, 18, which as a reference child to write down. When it talks about that original creation, it says that God created the earth perfect and inhabited. In fact, it says that He did not create it vain. The word vain there is the same word translated void in Genesis 1, 2. Apparently He did not create it void. It became void as a result of the judgment of Lucifer and the angels that followed him in an attempted overthrow of heaven.

The earth was judged, life was destroyed, And then we find, it says in Genesis 1-2, the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. That word moved in the Hebrew means to incubate or to brood upon the same of a mother hen or bird sitting on the nest, keeping the eggs warm and hatching them out. And so the Lord warmed up the earth, maybe thawed it out from a possible ice age, and in seven days made the earth inhabitable again, this time putting man on the planet.

So I believe that definitely the Bible teaches that and there are many more references than that. In fact, I have a CD that is very popular that goes through all those references that the Bible clearly I think teaches an original earth that was destroyed and then God made the earth inhabitable again. Yeah, they, in the Bible, it mentions about large animals, and I think something in Job mentions, I mean dinosaurs didn’t exist in those days. No, I know, I don’t believe that those are dinosaurs.

I think because most Bible commentators, right up until lately here, where a couple of people are trying to say they’re dinosaurs, have identified them as elephants or other large animals that we still have around today. In my other question, if you have a moment and somebody else who is trying to go against, I’m not quite sure. But in the creation and the beginning and in the businesses with Adam and Eve, if there are some passages somewhere in the air where they wander into a village or something where there’s other people, I was Adam and Eve I thought unless I was interpreting it wrong, we’re always the first man and woman.

But there’s something about them walking into a village with people. I can’t tell you with anything like that. Hold on and I’ll cover that as soon as we go right through this break part here. Hold on to it. Alright. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Have John done it for Lauderdale asking about going off into some villages, probably talking about in Genesis chapter 4 when Cain was banished.

He went into the land of God and it says he knew his wife. That phrase knew his wife meant he had a sexual relationship with her by where she conceived. He took her with him. She was already his wife and he went into this other land. People often misread that and think that he found this woman and married her in the land of God and that is not the case at all. Hopefully that answers the question for you. Again, I’m Dr.

Englinser. It’s wonderful to be able to be with you and thank you for listening in today. We’ve got lots of callers sitting waiting to get on the air and offer your questions that we’ll try to get to today. But we want to thank all of you who give to Bible and pray for us because you’re the ones who make this possible. It costs us to be on the air in your area. And for your station to continue, we have to be able to pay those bills.

And unless we have enough in your area that are contributing to that, then there’s always the possibility that we may not be able to continue the program in your area. We hate to ever cancel a station, but sometimes we have to do that because there doesn’t seem to be enough financial support in that area. Boy, we hate to do that. We want the gospel to continue to go out, but we have to, obviously, be able to pay the If we can’t pay the bill, we obviously can’t stay on the air.

I’m just telling you because we need people who will become partners with us here at Bible Eye and pray for and give to Bible Eye and that makes it possible for us to grow as we have and also to stay on the air in the areas where we have launched out. You might want to consider giving a gift to Bible Eye, especially during the summer time. to help us out and you can send that gift to Bible in at 4811 George Road in Tampa, Florida and the zip code is 33634.

Now if you call our 800 number, our operators will be glad to recite that address to you or send you an envelope with it already printed on it and or take your gift by credit card over the phone. Also, of course you can go to our online bookstore on our website BibleLineMinistries.org.com and there you can give a gift on our online bookstore. Consider that please. Again, if your station doesn’t carry the second half of this show, then you can call them up and tell them to clear that airtime so we can bring you the flower.

But you can also get our website and our full program and here at 24 hours a day. We’re going to rejoin stations down a little bit on break and do the second half of Bible. So keep your radio dial tuned right where it is and we’re going to do part two. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom.

Alright, we’re back from that break and this is Bibleline again. upheart to be with you and thank you for. Today in the Bible and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church. And we’re located right next to Tampa’s airport. We would love to have you drop by sometime. We’ve had people drop over from South Florida numerous times to visit with us on a weekend and join us for our services.

And of course we’ve had others who are coming in from north of here up as far as Ocala. around the to the east of Lakeland and Winter Haven and all those kinds of areas but we love to have you come and of course we’ve had people from out of state from Georgia and other places where they come in on vacation or business and they come by and visit us here at Byblanc. We love to have you. We have our Resource Center open every day till about 4.30.

You can come by in the morning and up until about 4.30, Monday through Friday, Eastern time and also you can come by on worship date and we’d love to have you come by and join us for Sunday Worship. We also have those classes now beginning July 11th. If you are available those are Tuesday nights for five weeks. We’ll be teaching first and second thessalonians eight dynamic chapters that deal with issues like the Rapture, the Tribulation period, the rebuilding of the third temple, the emergence of the Antichrist, the second coming of Christ, and of course many Christian life issues, wonderful two books that really are quite a wide range of wonderful doctrines from the Christian life and salvation to the coming of Jesus back to this earth.

I can’t wait. That will be this coming Tuesday, July 11th, and there is a charge and that will go to help pay for Bibleline. If finances would keep you from being in our classroom, then I’ll give you a scholarship. I don’t want anyone to not be in the class because they can’t afford to come, but we are trying to raise a little bit of money to make sure the Bible isn’t able to continue. I think you understand. That will be next Tuesday, July 11th.

We hope you’ll be in the classroom with us. If not, if you are too far to drive over or down or however you might get here, then you’ll be able to get the classes on CD as we’ll be recording them. can get all ten hours of teaching on the ten CDs when we conclude the class. Again we’re going to go now to the phone lines. We have Nancy in Richmond, Virginia and Nancy welcome to the Bible on your own ear.

Thank you Dr. Lindstrom. I have two questions. One I would like for you to describe or to explain predestination. We have a group of ladies that listen to you faithfully here. One other question that has come up. The scriptures say a woman should be heard through her husband. What happens when a widow wants to force an opinion in the church? Who does she go to? Well obviously she has to appeal to male leadership. In other words, if you’re going to give testimony or whatever, you need to line up with whoever would be in charge of the worship service.

If you’re going to do it in a service or in a Sunday school class, a Sunday school teacher, or whoever’s in charge. And if they give you permission to give testimony, I think that’s a perfectly legitimate. If that’s what you’re talking about, giving a testimony. Well, not just a testimony. If she has an opinion of something that’s going on I want to ask a question in a service. Well, sometimes the services don’t allow for that at all, and so that might be a problem.

So I think you just have to call and ask whoever in your church would be the one, the pastor, or assistant pastor to find out how that would be done. But there might not be a place in the worship service, but there might be in another class or in a church business meeting where definitely you’d be invited to. I’m sure you express your opinion or make a statement. That’s all I can tell you about that. As far as predestination is concerned, the Bible tells us that God is predestined, that all that believe would go to heaven, and He’s predestined that all that would not believe on Christ would go to hell.

So, deal Moody said it this way, the Whosoever wills are the elect, and the Whosoever won’ts are the non-elect. Even on John 3 16, even teaches that God’s soul of the world, that means all of mankind, that he gave Jesus to die for everybody in the human race, and that whosoever the invitation has extended everyone in the human race, that if you would believe you would not perish but you’d have eternal life, but the opposite is also true that if you do not believe, then you will perish and not have everlasting life.

God before the foundations of the earth determined, He would save the believer and not save the unbeliever. So in a real quick summary, that’s what it teaches. But nobody is. Well, what? Well, that doesn’t make you a choice for you. Everybody has a choice to accept to reject Christ. And it’s not predestined. Your choice is not predestined. That was the question we were discussing. I see. Very good. Well, thank you so much. I want to say hi to all of those in your Bible study group that are listening.

That’s wonderful. I’m glad that you all are enjoying us up there in Richmond, Virginia. We now have Sean in Richmond, Virginia. And Sean, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Good morning, sir. Good morning. How are you doing? I want to thank you for your ministry, thank you for what you’re doing here and the great ministry that you do. Thank you. You’re welcome. I have a comment first in a question, first a comment towards the gentleman about tongues. I believe these people are really sincere.

You know what they believe, but just really sincere is wrong. And if tongues was such a necessity, the Christian life, why did Jesus never speak in tongues? That’s a good point. Because of the pray, you know, baptize, get baptized, how to give all that, but never did he speak in tongues himself nor did he point that tongue was necessary. My question, Pastor, I believe I’m saved up and saved now, but I always had a question about those that are saved yet don’t change.

So I know in your sleep on that being that I was saved, deep pain and didn’t really change. We also in cereal was not getting better in my life. And then I did find my actually family’s on the church. And I joined the church and from there, the fundamental church’s preached that, you know, have salvation and, you know, the more that I learned study saying that well and I do believe that we are, we are, we are believes in Christ that we should be changed.

So I guess my question is what about those that are sincere, you know, really do. Right. Don’t see them. Well you see that in the parable of the sower you have the first group is not saved at all but the next two groups it tells you which are apparently large groups of believers that they don’t produce any fruit because one that cares of this world and the desire to become rich in this world and other things crowd out the word of God so that they don’t become productive at all.

And then there’s the other group seated on them on the thorns where they apparently are easily offended and if a little bit of persecution comes their way, they just say I quit and I’m out of here. But there are the others and they’re called good soil and it happens to be that they seem to be very receptive to what God is saying and they make the choice to grow and live for the Lord and that’s what the Christian life is all about.

It is a personal choice separate from our salvation decision when we trust Christ that he died for us and shed his blood we become saved. But for me I trusted Christ but it was a full year later that I made my second decision to serve him. And there was no progress of all of my Christian life for that whole year because I was not living for Christ. But I chose after a year to serve him and I have ever since I was 19.

So obviously somewhere along the line you have to make a second choice and decide that you’re going to grow and live for Christ. But if you are careful, you can be just like in the parable of the sower. But the things of this world just absolutely eat up all your time. And like a lot of people say, I don’t have time for God or I don’t have time for church. And you just don’t produce any fruit. You lose that on the rewards in heaven, but also you lose that on the joy and the happiness that comes by living for Christ here in this world.

But you believe that though, that’s right. Once you trust Christ, your saved period, whether you serve or don’t serve at all. Right, you do. Well, the Lord is going to chase him and the Lord is going to obviously try to get your attention, but you can harden your heart against that and not do anything. And you see examples in the Bible where Christians were obviously living a negative lifestyle and the Corinthian letters are certainly a case in point where they were committing all kinds of sins and the two letters are very lengthy because they’re written to point out the error of their lives.

ways in that they needed to choose to serve the Lord. And in there it certainly talks about the Lord’s chasing and how that many believers in Corinth were taken home to heaven early. It says in 1 Corinthians 1130, this caused many of your weak, many of your sickly, and many of you are dead. So the Lord had taken a lot of the Corinthian believers home because of their unwillingness to live for Christ, definitely became saved. But they were still saved, but they simply lost out on the rewards and the Lord obviously took them home early.

He also reminds us in Corinthians of giving in account one day for rewards. In 1 Corinthians 3 it talks about the judgment of Christ, where our works will be examined to determine the degree of reward we receive in heaven. Alright Sean, that was great. Thanks for calling in today. now we have a david in uh… st pittsburgh and they welcome the bible and you’re on the air yes uh… i wonder remind those people that keep pushing this they’re so delivered with this time’s business the matter like the matter how many times you tell them and quote scripture that the one guy would go will show me in the bible where it is you tell them for the fifteenth time this is like they don’t want some of them don’t want to get it deliberately on a subconscious level because their leader Like for instance, that’s the reason

I called. You put yourself out there on the line, on the radio. If you went to their church, and a lot of these churches are the columns of Baptists and Methodists, they’re just really Pentecostal churches, because if you go in there and you say what you’re saying, just like Pat Robinson, you won’t let you say what you have to say on his show, you’ll just be demonized and told to leave. Now, let me let you get it out once, but you can’t sit there and say something like, Hank Hanegrasp book like a he’s Pentecostal.

He put the history of Pentecostalism in his book and and and and Parham himself was a racist who started his Uzzus street who started Seymour who started his Uzzus street and and all the stuff that went on his Uzzus street was enough to us like a sideshow with a craft that went on there. They won’t see they won’t give you the facts of his Uzzus street. And the guy that wrote put the facts in his book is a believer in Pentecostalism.

He just doesn’t connect the dots. He puts them all on the book he just doesn’t connect them i heard you pushed a book before and when people call you they just don’t want they just they’re so into the ego and all that that proves to them on a subconscious level how spiritually are when they speak in time to all that it’s just it’s a high-fritter my thing is people there just a there just no better christians than anybody else because of that they may be better for other reasons but not because of that We are absolutely right and it gives them an emotional high for sure and in fact back in the days of the hippies a lot of the hippies began to use that expression.

I used to get high on drugs but now I get high on Jesus and they were talking about the emotional high that they got from this gibberish that was equivalent to what they were getting with their drugs and that was a big popular expression years ago. they do get emotionally high. There’s no doubt about that they enjoy it. Remember when they called or called a few minutes ago that Jesus never prayed in tongues? Yeah. Well, they would say to that, that, well, he’d probably pray, whenever they see pray in the Spirit to them, that means tongues.

Oh, I know it. I know. And so that’s their answer, that and all, and all, and all, they’re a legit, I’ll counter that with this. If tongues is so important, though Jesus never spoke in it, if you want that they did through praying in the spirit and that’s what they would say. I’d say this, how come Jesus never once said for anybody to pray in tongues? Now you may have said pray in the spirit, I don’t know if he said that or not.

So that’s the route, even though that’s not an intelligent one because the Bible says tongues, it mentions tongues in the Bible and it doesn’t mention praying in spirit that are the same. So Jesus never actually said, you want to be a better Christian, pray in tongues. I mean you think he’d said it once. I got a long list of things I wrote a long time ago how nutty it makes Jesus God look. I mean I thought I was a church down the street, the guy told me a pastor he fell off the ladder and he was protected because he baptized and all his spirit.

I think anybody else that was a Christian that fell off that ladder would be a room in the hospital. I mean I’ve heard so much nutty stuff on this stuff. It makes God and Jesus well the same thing. But it makes God look so… The Bible looks so nutty that people just got this merit badge of tongues. It looks like a Boy Scout thing. And they pick and they choose David because like in the Mark 16, 17 and 18 passage, they don’t choose the deadly snakes.

They don’t choose drinking the deadly drink. They just pick the one that they want and that seems to be tongues. But all five have ceased and I believe all five could have been had by anyone at the same time and I don’t see anybody choosing those other ones. I’ve said well why don’t you try the arsenic cocktail and nobody wants to do that and they don’t want to try the deadly cobra or the rattlesnake because they know that they’re going to get hurt.

Exactly. If you say what you’re saying they’ll think you’re the deadly cobra. You go to their church? Oh yeah. They’ll see horns coming out of your head. I was at a Baptist Church and I said, hey, you know, where I got this history about this Azusa Street, we started by, you know, I’m gonna get the fact that he was African-American. But the thing is, is I got this history from a guy who believes in the Pentecostal Movement. He just put the dots in the book, but he had to learn it through a white guy that was a clan supporter in a classroom and he had to sit outside because he wasn’t, you know, he was wrong color.

He couldn’t get inside. So how can you learn a spiritual gift from a racist clan supporter and and then go after getting that quote unquote spiritual gift in La Azuz, and taking it to Azuzu Street where you had all kinds of evil stuff going on there. See if the Pentecostal 100th anniversary comes along, if they don’t tell you the whole story and that’s the story there, I’m not giving you the whole story though, I’m giving you some of the bad stuff, they’re not telling you the whole story and I’m suspicious.

If they had the courage of their convictions like Pat Robbins or if they had the courage of their convictions, let’s hear it all, let’s hear all about Azuzu Street, not just the sanitized version. You’re absolutely right. David, thank you. Thank you. All right. That was David and the movement today is not biblical. If it were, then they should be doing what the Bible says would be done. I just evangelized the lost in the language that they’re born and raised with, and the person hearing should be able to hear in that language that they know and I’ve been raised with, but that’s not what’s happening.

Nobody is evangelizing anybody in the gift of times today because the day’s gift is a gibberish nobody understands. All right we have Debbie that just called in and Debbie is calling in from Chesterfield, Virginia and Debbie, welcome to Bible in. Hi, this is my first time calling and I appreciate your program and I’d like your comment on Revelation 2 of 11 a Bible teacher online mentioned that he believes that there is a special blessing from a church believers that God chose and he turned he passed You know families he knew who would respond to the gospel and placed those souls in individuals together as a family Well, that’s a that’s a big stretch to get that out of Revelation 2 11 Revelation 2, 11 says, He that hath a near, talking about spiritual hearing, let him hear what the Spirit safe unto the churches, and then it says,

He that overcometh. Now, this is what needs to be defined. Then, if you go to 1 John 5, 4, and 5, it says, For whatsoever is born of God, overcome with the world, and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. And in verse 5 is even better, it says, who is he that overcometh the world? Answer, he that believeeth that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. So every believer is one of these that are mentioned here, and it says, the one who is a believer that overcometh shall not be heard of the second death, which simply means you’ll never be cast into hell.

In Revelation 20 verse 14, to be cast into the everlasting lake of fire is defined in Revelation 20 verse 14 as being the second death. So it’s really saying here, if you’re a believer, and again, who is he that overcome with the world? The answer is if you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, if you’re born again, then you are an overcomer and it’s basically saying you’ll never go to hell. Oh, okay. You’re stuck. That is a spiritually mature believer.

No, no. And as your special blessing, you would be put in a family or… So most people mis-define that overcome of thing and they really imply works because they say that it’s because you are special. In fact, for quite a while as a young believer myself, I thought, well, I’m certainly not a net group because that’s a special Christian who’s really dynamic and living for Christ and it’s not to find that way at all in the Bible. Every believer is an overcomer by virtue of the type that Christ overcame on our behalf.

He overcame death, he overcame the penalty of sin, and he overcame the grave and he’s alive forevermore. When we trust him, we become by virtue what he did on our behalf. Overcomers. Thank you so much. I appreciate that. You’re welcome, Debbie. That’s first John 5, 4 and 5. You ought to write down someplace because the definition of an overcomer is a believer. And every believer has this promise count for them that they will never ever go to hell. By the way, all of you folks up in Richmond, Virginia, we’re going to be going off the air on WBDK1380 because that station has been sold.

And the format of the information is not available. is not going to be the same and so therefore they’re not going to continue to carry my broadcast. But we are on in Chester, Virginia at the same time. So just switch over on your dial to the other station and otherwise catch us on the internet. But we will not be on the station there in Richmond, WBDK 1380 on your dial. Just another week, I think the 16th or so of July, we go off the air and so make a note of that.

We now have John in Richmond, Virginia and John, welcome to Bibleline again, you’re probably one of those John that’s listing on WVDK that will be concluding in another week here. So switch over to the other station. Yeah, we are on right now in two stations in Richmond every day at 10 o’clock in the morning, Easter, stand in time, and you’ll need to find us on the other one because the station in Richmond, WVDK-1380, has been sold and they’re discontinuing my program and others that are religious in nature.

It’s going to be a different format for the station. You can find me, I forget the frequency, maybe my operators can find that for me, but the frequency of of the station there in Chester. In chapter? Yes. Yeah. But you can hear it in Richard there. But what’s the question, John? I was just one. Want to know if he had time to read a depth again from it. And explain it to me.

All right. Three first Corinthians three, 14. Three. Oh, chapter two. Seven, two. OK, that’s a big section there. but he’s saying basically in verse three that he didn’t let other people’s opinion affect his service for Christ. He says it’s a very small thing that I should be judged if you are of man’s judgment. Oh no, I got it wrong. Okay. Okay. Chapter 12. Okay. Let me go over there. First Corinthians 12. And what is the verse? Chapter 12 verse 3.

Therefore I give unto you to understand that no man speaking by the Spirit of God called Jesus a cursed and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord by the Holy Spirit. Is that what you mean? Yes. Yeah, basically, obviously if you’re going to be in agreement with what God the Holy Spirit says, then you could never call Jesus a cursed, nor could you know that Christ is the Lord that he is God except the Holy Spirit reveal that in Scripture.

So if you’re in your Bible you would obviously you can call Christ the curse but it wouldn’t be because the Holy Spirit said so in the Scripture because the Holy Spirit tells us that Jesus is God and he is to be worshiped and to be revered and so on. Now there are divisions of the gifts but the same spirit. There are differences of administration situations with the same Lord and their diversities of operations, but it’s the same God which worked with all at all.

Then it says, but the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit with all. That’s what we’re talking about and continue. Or to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom, to another the word of knowledge, by the same Spirit, to another faith, by the same Spirit, to another the gifts of healing, the same spirit to another working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the disowning of spirits, to another diverse kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues, but all these work of the one and the same self-same spirit, dividing to every man and several is he well.

What is the question? I just use combatic tones. Well, yeah, when Paul wrote this letter, the gift of terms was still present. But it ceased as he tells us in the next chapter when the New Testament record was complete. So the Holy Spirit gave the gift of tongues, but it was the least of the gifts, and not everybody had it. The false movement today says everybody should have it. That’s crazy because not even what it was really in operation.

operation did every believer have it only the Few that the Holy Spirit decided to give it to we’re out of time, and I hate to cut you off John but he picked it up Jesus is coming You’ve been listening to Bibleline a presentation of Bibleline ministries of Tampa, Florida Your donation to Bibleline makes it possible for this ministry to continue in your area Bible lines address is This is 4811 George Road, Tampa, Florida, 33634.
