Bibleline Radio Show – 2006-08-23 – An Accursed Message

THE GRACE TEST. What is the grace test? This is an easy way of testing whether or not you have the true message of the gospel as it is given in the Bible. You simply ask, “Did Jesus pay for all my sins on the cross?” or “Do I have to do something or not do something in order to gain my salvation?”

If you have a question or would like to leave a question off here, you can call that 800 number 1-800-576-3771. 2 Corinthians Chapter 11 tells us that Satan has his ministers in pulpits around the world. It talks here about such our false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. How would you know when you are looking at a false apostle? Would you see 666 tattooed on their forehead? Would you see right out of the hairline, maybe horns growing out of their skull?

Would you see if you came around the back side of the tail with a barb on the end hanging out the back end of the pastor’s coat? No, none of those things. Would you see on his t-shirt, I love the Antichrist? No, none of those things. A false teacher is going to look and disguise himself as a true teacher. And so it’s very subtle and you need to know what people are preaching or saying or you’ll be deceived. Isaiah 8, 20 says, If they speak not according to this word, that is the word of God, it is because there is no light in them.

Verse 14 goes on to say in 1 Corinthians 11, And no marvel for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. So Satan is transformed into an angel of light, or he appears to have the truth. I believe that Satan probably could walk up and shake hands with us, and we wouldn’t know that we had met the devil himself. Most of us have this picture in our minds that he’s an ugly creature, hiding behind a bush, ready to jump out and scare us, and say, Boo!

And we’re supposed to jump. But that is, of course, not the case at all. Most of us have probably looked at those potted meat cans in the grocery store where you see the devil with his red suit and his barbed tail and his horns coming out of his head and obviously a scary looking guy. But the Bible tells us here in 1 Corinthians 11-14, no marvel, don’t be amazed, for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. So, he obviously is a beautiful creature.

We know in the Book of Isaiah and also in Ezekiel when it describes Satan, he was a beautiful, beautiful angel and obviously it was his beauty that caused pride and caused him to fall. Verse 15 says, as we look at 1 Corinthians 11 and 15, therefore it is no great thing if Satan’s ministers also be transformed as the ministers of what? Righteousness. Satan doesn’t go around telling people to rob and steal and kill, although he would love to have us do that, I’m sure.

But he knows that that wouldn’t sell. What does Satan tell people to do to go to heaven? He tells them to do good deeds, to go to church. Yes, and be active and live the Christian life and so on, because he knows that that will not get you to heaven. He knows that unless you trust Christ and believe the gospel that Christ died and shed His blood as the only means of your salvation, you will not make it into heaven.

So Satan’s ministers are ministers of righteousness. In other words, they preach yes, you need to keep the Ten Commandments. Yes, you need to go to church. Yes, you need to be a good person. Yes, you need to be a law abiding person. And all these things, because that is Satan’s counterfeit of the new birth. The Bible says that our best righteous deeds will not get us there, that we have to be born again in order to be saved. that new birth occurs when we trust in the finished work of Christ.

He also says here in 2nd Corinthians 11 verse 15, these are Satan’s ministers or ministers of righteousness, whose end shall be according to their works. Now what does that mean? In other words, they will not be judged on the basis of their having trusted Christ because they haven’t, but their judge based upon their works and anyone, anyone and everyone that is going to base their salvation on their works will not make heaven. The Bible says in Ephesians 2, 9, Salvation is not of works.

List any man should boast or brag. Ephesians 2, 8 says Salvation is not of yourself. It’s not as a result of anything that we do, and those that are judged by their works will wind up in hell. When we read about the Great White Throne Judgment in Revelation chapter 20 verses 11-15, we find those people are judged according to their works. And guess what? Every one of them are cast into hell because nobody can get into heaven based upon their works.

Satan is a clever devil and he works in a deceitful way. In fact, one of the most misused verses in the New Testament is 2 Corinthians 5 verse 17. I’ll never forget in the church I was raised in where I don’t believe anybody was saved. They would often quote this verse, therefore if any man be in Christ, this is 2 Corinthians 5, 17, therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creature. All things are passed away, the old all things are become new.

And usually the spin I would get on this was that I used to be a sinner, but now I’m wonderful. I used to commit these certain sins, but now I don’t sin anymore, and so on and so on. And that’s not what the verse is saying at all. Corinthians 5 17 speaks about how we are born again when we trust Christ and become a new creation. That’s the new birth. And what it’s saying here is that the old conditions that existed prior to your being saved are passed away, but now behold all brand new conditions exist the moment you trust the Lord as your Savior.

In other words, you were going to hell, but now you’re going to heaven. You were a child of Satan, but now you’re a child of God. You were lost, but now you’re saved. There are dozens of these things that have totally changed at the very moment that you trust the Lord as your Savior. The old conditions that existed prior to your salvation have passed away, but all new conditions now exist. That is what this verse is saying. and Corinthians 5 17 says The old conditions that existed prior to our salvation have passed away, but now all brand new conditions exist the moment we trust the Lord as our Savior.

So the devil uses that as a clever way to add works to salvation. And this is done by many of the large shakers and movers today. They are saying to us that unless your life continues to change, unless you are continually growing and changing, then you’re not saved. And that’s not true. You are a new creation, according to 2 Corinthians 5, 17, at the moment of the new birth, at the moment or the instant of belief. And at that instant, all the old conditions that existed for you as a lost person are now passed away and behold, all brand new conditions exist from that moment on into eternity.

I was lost, but now I’m saved. I was headed for hell, now I’m headed for heaven. I was a child of Satan, but now I’m the child of God. I was under the law, but now I’m under grace. And we could go on and on and on and on about all the brand new conditions that exist that have nothing to do with my behavior, that have nothing to do with how I live my life, that have nothing to do with my obedience, that has to do with what Christ did for me at the cross when I trusted Jesus as my Savior.

So Satan’s ministers really come on and fool us because they’re ministers of righteousness. would never be successful in the pulpit. If he told the congregation, the way to heaven is to go out and rob and steal. The way to heaven is to muggle little ladies in the dark. The way to get to heaven is to rape and plunder. Nobody would buy into that. They would know that that was obviously wrong. And so Satan gives the counterfeit of the new birth and says, you need to change your life.

Why? You need to straighten up. You need to tear over new leaf. You need to keep the commandments. You need to be a good person. Most people that are lost think they are on their way to heaven. They are religious, but they are lost because they have never trusted in the shed blood of Christ as the only means of their salvation. I am Dr. Englund’s room. This is by the line and we are going to go to the phone lines and take your calls.

The phone line is 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771, you’re welcome to call in with your question. We have a number of all fair questions and we’ll take a few of those. It says here Aaron in St. Petersburg just calls in and he says he has a question about the Trinity. Let us make man in our image in Genesis, chapter 1 verse 26. What does this mean? Well, it’s really referring to the fact that the whole Godhead was involved in the creation of man.

The words there in the Hebrew are plural, which mean three or more, and the word translated God, Elohim is plural. And what it’s saying here is that God, existing as three or more, obviously three, created us in the letter that says, let us create man in our image after our likeness, is speaking about God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Aaron also says, in our prayer, do we pray to the Father or do we pray to Jesus?

Very confusing. I don’t think it makes a whole lot of difference, but really the technical order is. We pray to the Father through Jesus Christ the Mediator through the instruction and power of the Holy Spirit. So the order is in Christ that our Father is the Mediator and unless you go to God through Christ you can’t get to God. For example 1 Timothy 2 5 says there is one God and one Mediator between God and men the man Christ Jesus.

To try to get to God by praying to Mary does it work. You will not get any prayers through to God through Mary. Mary is not the mediator, but yet many pray prayers thinking they are going to get a prayer to God through Mary and it does it work. Mary cannot receive your prayers. Again, 1 Timothy 2 5, there is one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus. We’re going to go now to Gary in Largo, Florida and Gary, welcome to Bibleline your own ear.

Yes, Dr. Lindstrom. I have a question on the dietary law of the scripture, Christian doctors. I know the book Leviticus says there’s some do’s and don’t. How to understand. Totally. Well, God gave some very good rules and they’re good for our health. For example, today they’ve learned why we shouldn’t eat pork, and today because we have regulations as to how the pork is raised and so on we don’t have the danger for you to have have. But obviously they can transmit worms to us and diseases.

And I remember always being told by my mom that they cook pork very thoroughly because of the danger of trigonosis and so on. And all of those kind of things can happen out in Texas. I had some people tell me that they, some kind of a tape worm would enter your body and they pulled one out of somebody’s brain 15 feet long. It came from port. So unless pork is really raised properly and cooked properly, you can really do yourself an awful great deal of harm.

And there are certain foods that are restricted to this because of the health reasons. But today we can eat them in moderation. Obviously, on your known list is lobster and clams and oysters. And of course again the reason why is because Because you can get, well in Florida, I think about two or three years ago, 12 people died by eating raw oysters. They can become contaminated. And if they’re cooked well, you’re fine. And of course, if they’re generally regulated by the government, and the bays in which oysters are harvested are usually monitored, and if there’s any kind of bacterial infestation into the bay.

They will quarantine that bay as far as harvesting clams or oysters for a time until it’s all cleared up. But those are scary scenarios. I remember I was traveling to Italy and I had to get a cholera vaccination because they said the shellfish in Italy had been contaminated in that way. And there was a great danger of getting cholera while in Italy. I didn’t like getting the shot, but I wanted to save my life. So I was forced to do that I couldn’t travel there.

So those are things that the Bible warns against because those are things that can be harmful to us. In first Timothy it tells us basically today we can eat anything as long as we give thanks and and of course I’m sure we need to eat carefully with moderation but there’s no real rules upon us in the New Testament we’ve been delivered from the law and it says every creature this is first Timothy 4 4 of God is good nothing to be refused if it be received with thanksgiving for it is sanctified by the word of God in prayer and So we’re not restricted and in fact it tells us there that to Forbidden people from eating meat is a doctrine of demons and so Obviously there are some Groups like the seven-dad business that generally are totally vegetarian I believe that it’s fine if you want to choose to be a vegetarian, but generally the cults

and different satanic groups and so on are all vegetarian. I think there’s something about mind control and being a vegetarian. There’s a connection there. That’s something that I kind of made a connection myself. I can’t prove it, but it seems like that those who are in groups where they’re under mind control, they generally are vegetarian. the bible says here it’s a doctor of demons to forbid people to eat meat i think there is a certain uh… not a meat needed in our diet absolutely and uh…

so uh… i uh… i try to be careful i’d i’d just uh… i would you know the bible says we’re not to eat the uh… scavengers uh… buzzards and i shouldn’t i’m just looking at a buzzer i don’t think i’d want to eat one of those things now but but i mean i i think you just mentioned the two things that confuses me that timothy verse and levittic worth is you know don’t eat pork don’t eat any fish that don’t have been that that you know i well i think the reason you were a convert on timothy override the book of the law that well i think so but i think you have to eat moderation for example uh…

tuna fish now they don’t have scales and what have we discovered they they usually have high levels of mercury and other uh… heavy metals and that’s why they’re dangerous to their recommending you cut back on your intake of tuna and we’re learning more and more medically today why god gave those rules and uh… obviously fish without scales our turn the scavengers uh… that fish uh… sharks there are scavengers whenever you have a dramp right It’s shrimp, right? It’s very high in triglycerides.

How do they know that back in Leviticus? God knew that. If you eat shrimp, I eat shrimp, but I don’t eat it every day. I think if you eat in moderation, you’re just fine. But if you fill yourself with shrimp every day, you’re probably going to have your blood vessels all clogged up and you’re going to die. God has just given you some good health rules. I think he’s not saying don’t eat it today under grace, but just be smart and don’t overeat.

or be indulging in summing all the time on a regular basis that is on the forbidden list because you’re asking for trouble. There’s something wrong there and God is warning us in advance that if you eat too much of this you’re going to have health problems. So everything in moderation well-cooked and then we shouldn’t feel too guilty about almost eating anything. There you go. One more final question I know the promised land has always met in the land of milk and I mean, have God used those types of too much honey?

Is no good? It’s too sweet, too much. Well, I think that, again, that today, you know, we have our cows are knucklated with all these antibiotics. Right. And we know in some countries that kids are reaching puberty at 9, 10, and 11 because of the antibiotics that are coming through the injections into the animals that they’re eating and so on. I mean we have a lot of problems today. But I think if we were to go back to Biblical days, things were so pure and not contaminated by modern antibiotics and pesticides and all the other things that we use on our food products and the soil was not so depleted as it might be today that we could probably eat about anything and just be in great shape.

In fact, every one time I trip to Israel, I think the fruits and the vegetables are just so delicious. It may be just my imagination, but I just feel like when I eat over there, I come back from a couple of weeks in the Middle East, eating, especially in Israel, I just feel like a new person. I don’t think it’s your imagination. I think it’s a fact. I think it is. The soil is so rich over there, and you can see the fruits and vegetables just just looks so beautiful and they taste great.

I mean they have such a wonderful taste. I just enjoy the food in Israel in particular. They use these pephas with all these different fruits and vegetables that it’s just marvelous. Well I think that’s where I’m blessed to be in good health. But the more I find to talk to Christian doctors and nutritionists and read the word, I’m getting very confused on what he did because not like he said, this is not biblical times, things are so much You know, fruit is contaminated.

You know, they say you should only eat, and it’s getting pretty confusing. I don’t think we can run away from the grocery store. No, I know it. We just have to do the best we can. Then you have to wash your fruits and vegetables and just everything. You have to be, you know, try to keep it as clean as you can. And a lot of people are going to organic foods, but I don’t know if we can totally escape the hand of man in his incursion into our food.

into our food chain here and mess this up. So we just have to bless it before we eat, I think. There you go. But the bottom line, Dr. Linton, it’s pretty much eat anything in balance. Yes, I think so. Eat a balance side, get all your food groups in, make sure you’re eating clean, washed foods that is cooked and just eat it in moderation. Well, that frees me up a little bit. Thank you. Alright, Gary and Largo, and some people really go overboard in some of these areas.

We’re going to go now to Todd in Tampa, Todd. Welcome to Vibelininger on the air. Hey, Dr. Lynch, how you doing? Good. It’s been about six months or more since I’ve seen you. I came in and get some information to witness to a job, a witness, a tall guy. Listen, I’m looking for the scripture where it says, the gifts are God or without repentance. and that would that would that’s Roman’s Roman’s 1129 Roman’s 1129 and that was translated from Metanoia yeah well actually no it’s it’s actually a metamilitas the Greek word means uh…

without repentance or without a change of mind okay and so we got this that changes Roman’s 1129 in other words when God gives you the gift to return life he never changes his mind about it you’re stuck you have to have a lady like right right that’s a good verse Romans 11, 20. Now you got a Romans 1129. Thank you very much. Have a good day. Alright, you too. That was Todd and Tampa and we’re now gonna go to Jerry in Brandon Florida.

Jerry, welcome to Bibleline. Turn your radio down. I was wondering about in the book, Revelations. Here comes out. Make sure that your name is not blotted out. Well, it doesn’t say that. It doesn’t say make sure there’s no verse that says make sure your name is not blotted out. I thought that’s how it ran. But no, but if you trust the Lord as your Savior, your name will never be brought it out. Revelation 3.5 says if your an overcomer is a believer, it says I will not blot out his name out of the book of life.

Revelation 3.5. My question was if something is already written down and it’s for eternity, how then could we possibly be blotted out? Well, the answer is if you, God put your name in there to begin with because He paid for your sin, but you must receive that before you die. And if you die as an unbeliever, your name will be blotted out. But God gives a guarantee from the moment you believe on that your name will never come Revelation 3.5.

Once you become a believer, which is the crime there as an overcomer, your name will never come out of the book. So you’re stuck once you get saved, you’re saved forever. Thank you for that call and we’re gonna go now on break for before our part two of Bible and so stay tuned right here and we’ll be right back for the second half of Bible and don’t go away. Stay tuned for Bible and part two. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment.

Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. All right, I’m Dr. Englund. It’s great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning in. I hope you’re enjoying the program. Today is Wednesday. Tomorrow is our television day. And we’re on tomorrow morning on the Dish Network nationwide at 7am on Angel 1 on Sky Angel. We’re on the Tampa Bay area on more television than 8 o’clock in the morning, it’s channel 32 in the west coast of Florida. And then we’re also on at 6.30 in the evening on direct TV, World Harvest Television channel 3.21.

That’s nationwide. And then at 7 o’clock we’re on CPN all over the west coast of Florida from Fort Myers to Crystal River over to Orlando on cable. So we’re on at least four different times on Thursday and two of those, the Dish Network and Direct TV Network are nationwide. You can go to my website and look up the times that we’re on the air and where we’re on the air. That’s BibleLineMinistries.org.com BibleLineMinistries.org.com And you can click on the page that says Television for our television programs and click on the page that says Radio for our radio programs.

Also, don’t forget that you can listen to our radio programs and television programs by clicking on the little TV set on the right-hand top corner of the home page. By the way, we have lots of people that have websites that are picking up on our flash intro. We have a six and a half minute presentation of the gospel that you’re welcome to add to your website as a means of getting the gospel to those who visit your website. Apparently lots of websites all across America are now adding that video presentation where I give the gospel a very simple presentation and you can add that to yours.

When you turn to my website, when it first comes up, you’ll see that flash video and to the writer bottom. There will be a place where it says if you have a website then this is for you and you can add it to yours by clicking on that and you can have that on your website as a means of reaching out with a gospel on your website to all those who visit your site. Check that out. If you’d like to help my Bible on you can send us a gift by mail or you can give a gift by credit card over the phone and also you can do it on our online bookstore on the website you can give a gift or water resources that will help by the line.

So give that a shot by the line ministries.org.com and click on The online bookstore you can give a gift there. Also, we’re going to rejoin now stations that have been on break. If your station doesn’t carry the second half, go to the website and you’ll get the full hour broadcast. We’re out now going to join them, so stay tuned right here.

Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is… and he is Dr. Hank Lynch from all right we’re back from that break and this is Bible and by the way this is our television day we are on the I mean tomorrow is our television day tomorrow morning we’ll be on the dish at 7 a.m. on Angel 1 on Sky Angel at 8 o’clock in the morning we’ll be on more television in the Tampa Bay West Coast the Florida area on Channel 32 at 6 30 in the evening We’re going to be on the direct TV, channel 321 World Harvest Television.

And at 7 o’clock tomorrow night, we’re going to be on the CTN Christian Television Network on cable all over the West Coast, from Port Miners to Crystal River over to Orlando. And we hope that you’ll catch at least one of those. But now on the internet, we’re streaming our television programs. You can catch those programs 24 hours a day, seven days a week. I hope you will do that. And take advantage of the website. If you’d like to help Bibleline, we could certainly use your help.

We are listeners supported. And some people have asked, how does Bibleline stay on the air? Well, I don’t get paid. My staff doesn’t get paid. We volunteer our times, but it’s very expensive to be on all the stations we’re on. And the other phone bills and equipment costs and satellite costs to put this program up on the satellite. And so we would really depend upon our listeners. Some people say, well, doesn’t your church support it? Well, they do, but if my church alone supported it, we’d have to drop off 90% of what we’re doing.

This is bigger than my church, and it’s bigger than me. It’s something the Lord has raised up, and he supports it through the generous giving of our listeners. If you’d like to be a partner and help us get this job done, get the gospel out to a world that so desperately needs to hear it, we could really use your help. And so please consider giving a gift to Bible and you can do that by credit card over the phone and that is you can now 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771.

We’ve got lots of callers and so we’re going to go to the phone lines. We have all fair questions as well. We’ll try to take them as quickly as we can. We have Gary in Bradenton, Florida. Gary, welcome to Bibleline your on the air. Good morning, doctor. A couple of things on the two previous callers, one regarding the Trinity and then the other regarding the food issue. Take the food issue first. I think it’s interesting because a lot of people struggle with this and obviously that gentleman was but in to me what is puzzling about this when you read Leviticus 11 for example it calls these things unclean detestable abhorrent to you yet somehow your explanation is that in moderation they somehow aren’t unclean detestable or abhorrent and that’s where the confusion lies.

I see well obviously you know without modern medicine modern technology and so on You were in danger of buying if you ate those unclean animals. And so God was saying that they needed a really fear eating them. And pork is a classic example of early death. A lot of people in the areas where a lot of pork is raised, their life span is very short compared to the rest of the country. And that’s because it’ll clog up your arteries and your veins and you’re doing yourself harm.

harm. So I think that we should be very careful. But obviously today we have health standards and the farmers are under those rules that give us a better, safer product today where we can eat some of those things. So a shrimp today is better because of medicine? No, I don’t think shrimp is. But our knowledge of the fact of what causes it maybe helps us realize, whoops, I better not eat too many shrimp because it’s going to mess up my triglycerides.

Or maybe it’s better not to eat any shrimp because God called it unclean, detestable, and abhorrent. Well, that’s a good idea, but we’re not under the law where we have to follow that rule today. We can eat anything. It says there are in Timothy. So, I don’t eat this shrimp very often, but I like shrimp every now and then. Yeah, but it’s not an issue of the law. Either shrimp is good for you or it’s not. And I would think there was a reason behind that command that God gave of the law that why it’s detestable unclean.

uncomfortable, unclean and abhorrent, is because it’s not good for you. So just because we have to… I would agree with you. I mean, I’m not here fighting against those rules. I think I’m trying to be careful to avoid most of those foods myself. Because I believe that you’re absolutely right. And there’s a problem when you eat them, and if you’re going to eat them, you better be careful. And as far as the Trinity is concerned, let us make man an hour image.

What I find interesting about that verse is two things. There are Jewish interpretation of that verse for 4,000 years and even the 2,000 years since Christ never interpreted that to mean that there’s more than one person in the Godhead. So I find that interesting and also there are Christian Trinitarian scholars that admit that that really isn’t a reference to the trinity it’s just talking about the majesty the plural majesty of god and how great he is and to use that as a trinitarian birth i think it goes against jewish dot pattern for thousands of years and also christians co-opo obviously the jewish people have up denied the fact that god exists is that trying being but yet the very word for god elohim is plural and the uh…

pronouns are all poor also It translated correctly that it is us creating men in our image and I believe that it really is the Trinity. Although the Jewish people in the Shema have missed the fact that the word at a cod means a composite unity. When they say the hero Israel, the Lord God is one Lord. The word wonder is a cod which is a composite unity and doesn’t mean absolute one as the Hebrew word yachid means. And so when they say that and they boast themselves about being monotheistic, they’ve missed the fact that God is a plurality.

And you’ll see the Holy Spirit mention in Genesis 1-2, the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters and we have the whole Godhead involved in the creation of men. When we go to the New Testament, we certainly see that reinforced that Christ is the Creator, that God the Father is the Creator and the Holy Spirit also is the Creator. you see how the Old Testament in the New Testament is really explained, whereas the New Testament in the Old Testament is contained.

I think they blend together to give us the full picture. When you just use the verse in early Genesis about the Spirit referring to the third person of the Trinity Holy Spirit, again it gets very confusing because if you read John 424 it defines who God is. God is Spirit. Are you saying in John 424 that’s only referring to the Holy Spirit or is that referring to God the Father? Well, obviously God except revealed in the human body of Christ is Spirit.

So God the Father is Spirit and God the Holy Spirit is Spirit. But obviously I believe that verse 2 of Genesis is a reference to the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God. It seems like when you follow the picture given to us that the Father is the decree maker, that the Holy Spirit is the power by which He enacts it out or the person of the Godhead that enacts it out. And the Christ is the one that God revealed in a way that man can see Him and reveals Him in a human flesh body.

as a very simplistic explanation, but obviously that each member of the God had apparently played a different role in carrying out the purposes of God, and that all three are mentioned there I think in Genesis 1-1. What I think is interesting is that nowhere in the Bible is the word Trinity ever used, there is not one verse that says these three persons are one God other than maybe 1 John which i think can be disputed as not part of the earlier uh…

greek manuscripts which you and i have talked about in the past right well the english word on trinity isn’t necessary uh… certainly uh… there’s so many verses uh… old and you can still like you know in i say sixty one one it says the spirit The Lord God is upon me, there you have all three members of the Godhead, and there Jesus in Luke 4 reads from that passage in the synagogue and declares that it was referring to him.

That he was the third person mentioned in that phrase, the spirit of Adonoy Elohino is upon me and that Jesus was present there and the Father was present and the Holy Spirit was there. He declares that he was the fulfillment of it. So you have the entire Godhead in that verse, and there are so many verses in the Old Testament that have all three members of the Godhead all in one verse. I think the Trinity is obvious, but we don’t use the English word Trinity as they occur in the Bible.

Two things. Why? Because I think there is a lot of confusion about this, and I think a lot of Christians have confusion about it, it would have been so much easier if God would have used the word Trinity specifically in the scriptures and clearly defined the Godhead. I think it’s also fair to say would you agree that if someone read the Bible from beginning to end one time or even two times, they aren’t going to conclude a three person Godhead.

It just doesn’t happen that way. You have to really piece things together and have other people tell you that it’s there. But is it fair to say if someone read the Bible twice from beginning to end, they would not come away with a Trinitarian view of God? That’s fair to say? I’m not too sure. Again, remember, the Bible tells us that the lost person, the unsafe person, the person that’s not been born again, really isn’t going to make sense out of the Bible at all.

1 Corinthians 2, 14 says the natural man, receiveeth not the things of the Spirit of God, near foolishness in him, neither can he know them because they’re spiritually discern. So I believe you can have a real high IQ, read the Bible and come out with about zero, and obviously there are people who are just in that category, and they’ll say it doesn’t make sense or it’s foolishness. And yet a child can read the Bible and understand it if they’re seeking and wanting to know the truth.

It seems like it comes right through. And I think as far as the word trinity not being there, the word God in the Old Testament that we read in the King James in spelled capital G, little O, little D from the Hebrew word Elohim is clearly a plural word and I know that Jewish people all know that but they just don’t connect to nots and when you ask them and plural in Hebrew is three or more. They have to conclude that they’re God is a plurality, not a composite unity but he is a plurality he’s more than one and it’s quite clear you would have to come up with a conclusion that he is a triune god if you just do that one word twenty five hundred times at least in the Old Testament you’ll find the word god Elohim is there well that one and that one improved a triune god all that

would prove is a plural god right but but a bit a bit of a minimum of three Why can’t 2 is more than 1? Yeah, 7 Hebrew words that are dual, that mean 2. Words that are singular that mean absolutely 1. And then all plural words in Hebrew begin with 3. So plural and English is 2 or more. But in Hebrew that’s not true. Okay, but what would the Hebrew word then for a dual God be? How would you say that in Hebrew if it meant 2?

I don’t think there is a word for a dual God. I think the only word the basic bottom line word is a plural word for God and that God and in some Places where they wrongly translated the translated gods because it is exactly that is gods. It’s plural and It must refer to more than one. Hey, good to talk to you. I’ve got to run over the next caller, but thank you so much for that call and We’re now gonna go to Bob in Sarasota Bob welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air Bob Bob Bob where are you hello Bob well I don’t know where Bob went but he was apparently listening to the radio we have less in the land Florida and less welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air oh very good I got a I don’t the question of observation going back to

Genesis 1.26. When it says let us make man in our image after our likeness. Okay. It is definitely the Trinity and man created us in the fullest. Absolutely. Okay. Now when you go to Genesis 3.22 after the fall When God said, man is become as one of us. So if you would look at it in the sense that, okay, we were the full image of God. Now we become a partial image. Okay, now if you think about it, he has, what has he given us back?

He’s given us back the word Jesus, and he’s given us back the Holy Spirit. So the only thing left would be Jehovah. Now if you go to I say at 46 verse 10 and you read in it that Goba got talking and say my counsel still stand and I will do all my pleasure. Now if that isn’t a picture of man, you know, saved or otherwise, I mean we’re kind of arrogant and our own question. I just kind of like your thoughts on that.

I think it’s a good point. You know, when it says, let us make men an hour image, I think it’s, there are multiple meanings there. Not only does Christ look like us, but we look like Christ God when He took on a human body and became like us. But also, we’re triune beings. We’re body, soul and spirit like God is a triune being. We’re also made a triune being. Also, I think, made in God’s image is that God is a rational God.

We’re made as rational beings. God is an emotional God, experiences emotions and we are obviously able to experience emotions. God is a volitional God, we are able to make choices and so is He. So there are so many different ways in which we are made in God’s image. But I do like what you just said. I thought that made a lot of good sense there. We have now taken on qualities that are reserved only to God himself, that we have tried to assert our will against the will of God, which is the essence of what sin is, when Adam and Eve decided to violate what God said and do what they chose to do, as opposed to what God instructed them to do.

That’s what sin is all about. Yeah, I just thought I was really curious from after the fall, he’s got to say that we had, you know, we had to become as one of us. You know, that’s what… That’s very, very interesting, yes. There’s nothing to ponder anyway. Absolutely. You stumble on the something good there. Thank you, Les. That’s all right. That was Les in the land, Florida. By the way, in the land, Florida, we also played again in the evenings from nine until 10.

If you’re listening on the station out of the land, Florida, all up in the east, northeast part of Florida there. We’re on again at nine o’clock till ten o’clock at night on that station. We now have Earl in Pensacola, Florida. Earl, welcome to Bibleline Your Own The Air. Yes, sir. It sounds to me on this project here. I got here. I would like to pose a question here. You know the strip is there, you know, up there, and I was there before you in Atlanta.

You know, God said that the guy with me there is no savior, you know, and you know that Jesus was in the beginning, I mean, where is the Savior? Amen. I think it’s a great strong point that Jesus has to be God or there can be no Savior because Jehovah says there, or Yahweh says in Isaiah 43, 10, and 11, I even I am the Savior and beside me there is no Savior. I am the Lord and beside me there is no Savior.

He is the Savior. He is the Lord and Jesus is the very same one when the angels announced in Luke 2 11 and he was born to stay in the city of David a Savior. Obviously he’s the Lord God who came and took on human flesh. Okay. Excellent. Well, yeah, because I mean I believe in the one that’s the most peaceful God. I don’t believe in polyticism. and you know power to the lost in the in him will all the fullness god it bodily so if he said all of the fullness well in Christ there’s father son holy ghost right there there you go in Christ man I agree the moment easy to all of the fullness of God well in Christ I agree with you thank you so much that’s all right that was a good one in Pensacola Florida we’re on up there in

Pensacola and in Mobile, Alabama, in Kansas City, Kansas, in Lexington, Kentucky, in Lansing, Michigan, Flint, and Saginaw, Michigan, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Cincinnati, Ohio, Memphis, Tennessee. We’re up in New York, in Albany, and Utica, New York, and I start naming stations and I can’t remember all of them that we’re on. Welcome to all of you to the Welcome to Bibleline program. We have Mike in Lakeland, Florida. Mike, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Hey Dr. Hank, I wanted to tell you I really appreciate what you’re doing, tremendous ministry.

And I’m just thankful that we have a fellow like you. We can listen to. I just wanted to call and respond to the fellow that was talking about the Trinity and how he didn’t find that in the scripture. I find just the opposite. I find it difficult to read the Bible. difficult to read the Bible and not find Trinity. There are other words such as rapture that are not in the Bible but clearly we believe in those. There are several instances with verses in the Bible that just really speak to all three parts of the Trinity.

Another proof I think would be human being and patterned after God. I just wanted to hear your thoughts about that and uh… and uh… just once again i’m gonna hang up and listen but i really appreciate what you’re doing we love you and appreciate you and support your ministry will go by the thank you mike and uh… that’s a good point and i think you’re right i think if you are honestly obviously matthew and uh… number of uh… books wind up even with a ben diction includes all three members of the godhead when you read the book of revelation as it’s introduced it’s from god the father and from god the sun and the full seven-fold Spirit of God.

So you have the book of Revelation being addressed to us from all three members of the Godhead. So it’s hard to escape that. Matthew in the Great Commission says we’re going to all the world and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. It would be difficult not to recognize that there is a triune God. I think you’re absolutely right on that. Thank you so much for that call.

We now have Jeff down in Venice, Florida and Jeff welcome to Iowa on your own year. Dr. Lindstrom, thank you for taking my call. I’m calling about a story that’s recently been in the news about the Sunday school teacher that was fired after 54 years and one of the main verses that they dismissed her for was First Timothy chapter 2 with a woman shall not usurp authority over a man. Now if you go through the scriptures, it’s also spoken of and I believe Ephesians and 1 Corinthians and then you go back to Genesis 3, 16, spoken of where man will have authority over the woman.

Now I’ve been on a Christian message board and there’s plenty of people trying to say that this does not exist anywhere but isn’t it fair to say that if nowhere in scripture something’s been canceled out, then it must stand as truth in these days. Well, I think it is true. I don’t know exactly the story. I heard a little bit about it, but not didn’t read the case. I think it’s talking primarily about where the women lead in leadership, for example, Pastor Deacon, Elder, and so on, and that women should not have those positions.

I don’t understand the position of a teacher in a school. Certainly the Bible teaches that the older women should teach younger women and women or to teach children, so I don’t understand the connection there as far as the firing of this woman. But certainly I do not believe that we should have women pastors. I think that’s in violation of that verse in 1st Timothy 2, 11 through 15. So that’s, I really wish I had read the story. I didn’t follow exactly what she was doing or what roles she had other than just teaching children.

It would cause her to get fired under that ruling. Now, according to Dr. Schofield, this was all brought about because sin was brought into the world and a head shift needed to be formed. Would you agree with that? I would agree. That’s what it says in First Timothy 2, that Adam was formed first and and then Eve. And so obviously there’s an order of creation and a chain of command that flows down in that way. And in 1 Corinthians 11 it mentions that there’s God the Father and there’s Christ and then there’s man and then there’s the woman under the man.

And then of course the children and the husband and wife, the children are going to obey their parents which is the order. Obviously there has to be structure and order. And then also So it tells us in the first Timothy that women that Eve was deceived, but Adam wasn’t. So apparently in spiritual matters women who think more emotionally. Then men who think more rationalline are more likely too as many of the cults have been found by women because for example a married Vicky said I just can’t believe in a guy that would send anybody to hell.

So she just wrote off. Hell. And said, There is no help because she couldn’t accept a God like that. So women are more likely to do that and I think that’s why God doesn’t want women to be the spiritual Fahms. Now, two things that Nielsen’s Bible commentary commented on about 1 Timothy 211 was, one, woman was deceived un-knowingly and she truly was deceived where Adam had sinned with his eyes open. Yes, yes, that’s true. And number two is they had also put a comment in there where women are allowed to exercise their spiritual gifts but it should be under the male authority.

Would you agree with that? Absolutely, yes. Okay, because I was just trying to get this straight because I was getting the chauvinistic type of comments on the message. No. You’re trying to read from God’s word. Women aren’t not to be able to do anything, but they certainly ought to be under male authority. Yeah, well, you know, in these days of people picking and choosing their verses that they want to live by, you know, I just felt that that was going on there.

And I just wanted, I studied it last night and just wanted to get your opinion. So I thank you. Thank you. out of time and boy the time goes by so quickly. I’m Dr. Englund, Mrs. Bible, and if you’ve never trusted the Lord I hope you would just say Lord I’m a sinner. I don’t understand much about the Bible but I trust Jesus right now as the means of my salvation, trusting that his death and shed blood purchase my salvation that he was buried in rose again from the dead.
