Most Christians are not aware of how serious it is to add to what Jesus Christ has finished! It is the difference between whether or not a person is saved. It is the difference between heaven and hell.

It says click here for Bible and Television. On the right it says click here for Bible and Radio. And it’s that simple. And we certainly hope that you will take advantage. We’re going to We’re going to read a couple of verses here from the book of Galatians and then we’ll get to our callers.
The phone number here, Bible and is 1-800-576-3771. By the way, if you’re in driving distance, we invite you to come worship with us this Sunday. We worship at 10-30 in the morning. We also worship on Wednesday night and Soon in September here will be announcing now the classes coming up that will offer some classes in the Bible We just finished first and second Thessalonians. Wow, that was a wonderful wonderful series and the final evening everybody broke into applause it was a great evening. Everybody just enjoyed the series. That’s available by the way on CD. You want to get the 10 hours of teaching on first and second Thessalonians. It is available and also about 40 other teachings of 10 or 12 hours that will really help you in your learning the The word can also facilitate a Bible study.
I can’t tell you how many Bible studies we hear about where they’re maybe using my CDs to teach the book of Revelation. They’ll play a half hour, have discussion, and have refreshments, and so on. They’ll play the next week, another half hour. We’ll keep you busy for a long time. We’ve got lots of series where you can study. We know a church in Pittsburgh called up and wanted the Romans series because they were studying Romans and one of the series as an aid.
So you might want to think about different ways that you can use the CD series or the DVD series. We have also television on DVD that you can also get on different doctrines of the Bible. Galatians chapter 1, what a wonderful book this one is and it says here, Grace verse be unto you and peace from God the Father and from our Lord Jesus Christ who gave himself for our sins. I love that phrase in Galatians 1-4, who gave himself.
You know, Jesus Christ voluntarily gave his life and he gave himself. You know, our salvation is based upon what he did for us, not what we do for him. And it says, who gave himself four-hour sins? You know, Christ died. But that’s not what is unique. The fact that he died for our sins is unique. No one else. Did you know that Muhammad didn’t die for your sins? That’s right. Buddha didn’t die for your sins. Confucius didn’t die for your sins.
Now they all died. But only Jesus died for your sins. That’s what it’s saying here. 1, verse 4, who gave himself for our sins that he might deliver us from this present evil world. This is the difference right here between the Bible and religion. Religion teaches you to work your way to bind the relationship between you and God by your works and by your deeds, whereas the Bible says that’s impossible, that our best works and best deeds are filthy rags, and certainly our sins have separated us from God.
But God did for man what man could not do for himself as this verse tells us that Jesus Christ gave himself for our sins that he might deliver us from this present evil world according to the will of God and our Father. God designed this plan before the foundations of the world, that God would give his only He begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, God in flesh, that He would be sinless and that He would go to the cross and give Himself for our sins.
What marks Jesus out as the real thing is the fact that He came back again from the dead. Muhammad is still dead. Confucius is still dead. Buddha is still dead. They can’t help you. You can go to the graves and holler out, Hey, Muhammad! You know what he’ll say? Nothing. He’s dead. He can’t help you. Hey, Buddha! You know what he’ll answer? Nothing. He’s dead. He can’t help you. Confucius! Help! You know what he’ll say? Nothing. He’s dead. You go to Christ’s grave.
It’s empty. I’ve been to Israel 13 times, leading groups over there. I’ve been to the Tomb of Christ every time. And you know it’s empty. I bear witness right now that I’ve seen the empty tomb that Jesus left as a witness of the fact that he’s gone, he’s risen, he’s alive, he’s alive forever more. We have arisen Savior. We have someone who can make good on his promises. You know, if somebody makes you a promise and then they die before they can fulfill it, you can just kiss that promise goodbye.
Generally, that will never ever take place. But Jesus came back from the dead and therefore he can make good on the promise that he made and he made a promise that whosoever believeth in him should not perish. But have everlasting life. What great news! I’ll tell you! It’s the best news anybody’s ever going to hear. What a great couple of verses here. Galatians chapter 1 verses 3 and 4. Grace, mercy, be to you and peace from God the Father and from our Lord Jesus Christ.
It’s based that grace, that mercy, that peace is based upon the fact that Jesus gave himself for our sins. Relations 1,4, that he might deliver us from this present evil world according to the will of God and our Father. That’s the message of the gospel. And by the way, the grace test, when you ask yourself, are you saved by grace, the grace test is, is there any works involved? You see, the message of the gospel is a message of grace, and the message of the gospel excludes any works or any human merit.
And so unless you are excluding all human contribution, all works, all church membership, baptism, confirmation, and whatever you might think you might have to do to be safe, you You need to exclude all that and simply trust Jesus alone, or you have bought into a perversion of the gospel, which is a false gospel. Let me quote now, Chapter 1 here in Verses 8 and 9, where Paul says in Verses 8, though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you, then that which we have preached unto you, let him be a cursed.
In other words, if you take a message that is a perversion of the true gospel which excludes all human works, and you say, well, it’s Christ plus water baptism, or Christ plus living a Christian life, my friend, that message is a cursed because it can’t save you and the one who delivers that message is a cursed, and the message is a cursed, and you’ll not get to heaven. Verse 9 Paul says again, as we said before, so now I say again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you, then that which you have received let him be a cursed.
While according to Galatians 1-7, an accursed message is a perversion of the gospel of Christ. It will sound like the real thing, but if you listen carefully. What I recommend is if you are hearing a message by some pastor, what you need to do is to do this, close your eyes and ask yourself, am I being tugged or pulled to do something or not do something that will affect my salvation? And if you sense that you are, you’re hearing a false message.
It’s that simple. Let me say that again. You just kind of close your eyes and say, am I being tugged in any way to do something or not do something that will affect my salvation? Then it’s a false message because you see we can do nothing. Christ gave Himself for our sins that He might deliver us from this present evil world, Galatians 1, 4. So if a pastor teaches that you have to turn from your sin to be saved, that’s not a cursed message.
If a pastor teaches that you have to invite Christ into your heart, that’s not a cursed message. If you have to give your heart or give your life to Christ, that’s not a cursed message. You’re required to do something. The Bible says we can do nothing. That’s why Christ died. That is why Christ died. He gave his life because there was nothing we could do. I love that hymn just as I am. I come without one plea, but that thy blood was shed for me.
Only the blood of Jesus could wash away your sin. Many faith alone in Christ can save you if you are trusting in anything in addition to Christ you have just made the message void and according to the Bible you will not be saved. The message you have embraced has accursed of God and you cannot interheaven. I am Dr. Hinckrens from Mrs. Bible and I am pleading for the souls of men. I am not splitting hairs. I am concerned about whether I will see you in heaven or not, and I know that most of Christianity today has allowed the message to be contaminated by human effort, that there is something that you must do in addition to faith in Christ, and that is the false message that Paul is this morning about.
In the book regulations. We have lots of people who have left the offer questions. We have live callers sitting on the line. Our lines are filling up right now. You can call 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. And we have Gary down in Bradenton, Florida. And Gary, welcome to Bibleline You are on the air. Good morning doctor. i am calling about uh… the trinity since it’s a hot topic appears anyway since uh… last few days we’ve been discussing it uh… the gentleman that called yesterday uh…
he brought up the kingdom of the cult uh… the other gentleman the other day brought up by the council of night cia and these are all good references certainly but uh… the best way to look at this issue is obviously to look at uh… the bible and what it has been and what i’m what i’m saying is that at a minimum i’m not saying it’s absolutely We put at a minimum this is not a clear doctrine, this Trinity doctrine.
And if you give me just about a minute to explain why I say it’s not clear. If you look at the beginnings of all of Paul’s epistles and you read one of them in Galatians, but let’s, you know, just if you start with 1 Corinthians 1, 3, grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, totally separating the two. Same thing in 1 Corinthians 1, 2, same type of, you also, you mentioned Galatians 1, 3, grace to you in peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
And just bear with me, Ephesians 1, 2, grace to you in peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, totally separating them. and Philippians, same thing in Colossians 1, 3 says, we give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ praying always for you. Now again what I’m saying is it’s not a clear text, the natural reading, it’s nowhere to read the Bible from beginning to end. They are not going to come away with the view of the Trinity.
In fact there’s not even, you know as we talked about the word Trinity is never used, I understand It’s just used as a conceptual thing, just like the word rapture is. But other than 1 John 5-7, which is a disputed text because scholars maintain that the earlier Greek manuscripts, and I know you disagree with this view, was not in the older Greek manuscripts. And yet there are specific other being God and Jesus separate from Him. And if you look at John 17-3, when Jesus is praying to the Father, He says, I pray that that they may know you the only true God and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
Totally separating himself from the one true God. Ephesians 4-6 there is one God and Father of all. First Corinthians 8-6 there is but one God and one Lord Jesus Christ. Again totally separating the two. So all I’m saying is you have the Trinitarian view it’s not a clear text. for people to call in and say it’s absolutely clear. I don’t think it’s a fair rendition of the readings of these scriptures. It’s not clear, and all I ask is people to be a little bit more open-minded instead of seeing things in there, because you have to piece it together.
And I don’t know if that is the proper way to do it, but I do know, reading it from beginning to end, people are not gonna just come away. It has to be taught to them and piece together your comments, doctor. Okay, thank you Gary. This is very good. In John 10 though, if you read the gospel of John in particular, Jesus of course says again what you’re saying in John 10, 20, I give unto them eternal life and they shall never perish.
Neither shall any pluck them out of my hand. Then he says in verse 29, my Father, which gave them me, is greater than all, and no one is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. But then he says in verse 30, I and my Father are one. And then you’ll notice the Jews took up stones again to stone him, and then Jesus, of course, says many good works, have I showed you for my Father, for which of those good works do you stone me?
the Jews answered saying, for a good work we stoned thee not, but for blasphemy and because that thou being a man make us thyself God. They clearly understood what he was saying. When he said, I am my father or one, and they said that, he could have said, wait a minute, now you misunderstood me. But he never ever said that you misunderstood me. He let it stand. He was saying that he was God and they attempted to kill him for that.
You’ll notice earlier in John chapter 5. Similarly, he had healed on the Sabbath and had broken their tradition concerning the Sabbath. They got upset. So Jesus makes this statement, which got them even more upset. In verse 17 of John 5, Jesus answered them and said, My Father worked at hitherto, and now He says, And I work. And then, notice verse 18 of John 5, therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him because he not only had broken the Sabbath, he broke their tradition of course, but because also he said that God was his father making himself equal, equal with God.
And that is the claim. And you see that in the epistles as well where it is clear if you read them in their entirety. For example, in the book of Philippians in chapter 2, it says, Let this mind in verse 5 be in you, which also was in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God, but made himself of no reputation, and took upon himself the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of Ben, and being fashioned as a man he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
So, very clearly here, he was in the form of God and he was equal with God. Yet he humbled himself and became a man. And obviously the Bible is telling us that Jesus Christ is separate, but yet he’s one and the same as God. And Jesus said in John 14, he that has seen me has seen the Father. Philip said, show us the Father. Philip was told by Christ, have I been so long a time with you and yet you don’t know who I am?
He that has seen me has seen the Father. So, I understand what you’re saying, but definitely the Bible does connect the dots for us. And if you do a simple reading, you’ll see that they are both God and that God does exist eternally as three separate eternal persons. We’re going down to Larry and Palm Harbor. Larry, welcome to the Bible and you’re on the air. Yes, Pastor. I’m doing a Bible study at home on Philippians and it was talking in there that actually I know there’s a lot of phrases in the Old Testament talking about the prophecy of Jesus coming on the second coming but it actually said that it had shortcomings in the Old Testament times.
Can you reflect on? on this? If you actually reference Genesis 8, but if I put the Genesis 8, I couldn’t get any help. Now, tell me the exact verse you’re talking about. I’m not getting the point of Philippians. I think it was what they’re talking about the same. Okay, but I mean, when in Philippians, you figured this that you’re talking about. Well, if they were saying that actually, you know, Jesus had short-coming in the Bible. I don’t see that here in Philippians.
It’s certainly not in the biblical text. You must be reading in somebody’s notes. What kind of Bible are you using? I’m using the scope. I was wondering if it was referencing with the dub that Noah was seeing or maybe into that chapter 8 where he’s talking about the Lord. I’m not sure exactly the words, but about the actual disposition period ending there. I’m not really sure what you’re asking. But certainly, if you mean Christ had short-tommings, that he was less than God or?
No, that he actually came to the earth in the Old Testament times. Oh, I should have said that there were many preincarnated appearances of Christ in the Old Testament. I believe Melchizedek that appeared to Abraham in Genesis 14 at the end of his victory over the kings of the Sodom and Malay. That Melchizedek met him and that Melchizedek is Christ. In Hebrews chapter 7 it tells that he has no father, he has no mother, he’s without descent, He has no beginning, no ending, and he’s made like unto the Son of God.
So we’d have definitely believed that Melchizedek was a pre-incarnate appearance of Christ. And of course in John 8 Jesus tells us that he did see Abraham and Abraham saw him and rejoiced. And when they looked at Jesus and they said, well you’re not even 50 years old, how can this be? In John 858 Jesus said, Before Abraham was. I am. And there he’s using that name that God used when he appeared to Moses at the burning bush in Exodus 3, where God said my name is I am.
Which really says that God is, whenever he appears in time, he always appears in the present tense. He never says I was. Oh my God, when he’s a husband, well I shall be. But he says I am. And Jesus loved that title and claims that he’s the same God that appeared to Moses. And he said, and as he amplifies it, he says, I am. the way i am the truth i’m the life and the door i am the light of the world and so on and so on he loved that phrase right well that explains it more to me that okay great larry thanks so much uh…
thank you sir larry calling in from paul harbor that ten the callers here and we seem to not be able to get through all of these uh… because the clock runs against us here uh… we have uh… Grace in Sun City Center calls in with an off-air question, but it says in Romans 2 that we’re asked not to judge. We do judge, but there are certain areas in which we’re not to judge, and that is we’re not to judge things that we can’t really know the answer to like motives and the inner thoughts of a person that are not revealed.
God will do all of that one day. We’re going to have to go to break and we’ll do Bible in part to you in just a moment. So keep your radio dial tuned right where it is. We’re going to be right back. Stay tuned right here. I’m Dr. Lynch from Mrs. Bible and we’ll be back in just one moment. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call call it one eight hundred five seven six three seven seven one that’s one eight hundred five seven six thirty seven seventy one well i’m dr england’s term and this is my line line and we’re excited about being able to be with you.
This is the end of another week but we’ll be back on Monday again live. But you know if you would like to hear by the line again you can hear it all throughout the weekend and every day by going to the internet we’re streaming and what that means is that our programs are up there on the internet in archive and this program today, the day’s program is live right now and we’ll be there for the next month and you can listen to it again and again and again.
As often as you You like any time of day 24 hours a day? You know, I have a sister in Ohio and I just spoke with her and she listened to some of yesterday’s program last evening. You can do this any time of day and it’s wonderful and so we have people around the world. But last month, 13,045 listeners to buy blind on the internet. Isn’t that remarkable? And now our television programs are there as well. You’ll have to do this good on our website, BibleLineMinistries.org.com.
Click on the television set on the home page up in the upper right hand corner. All of a sudden you’ll be connected to a page on the left side that will say, click here for Bible and television. On the right side it will say, click here for Bible and radio. You’re in! That’s just that simple. Tell your friends, would you help us expand our audience? And let me just say also, I want to thank all of you who pray for and give the Bible because we are listeners supported and we couldn’t be able to do what we’re doing without your help.
Shortly here we’re going to be expanding the ministry by bringing our morning worship service by the headquarters at the Calvary Community Church Farm and the pastor to you every Sunday and we’ll see if we just will loop that so it runs throughout the week but you’ll be able to attend my morning worship service and get the message as it’s delivered live. you might be on the planet Earth. I think that’s exciting. And new exciting things happen all the time, but all these things cost money and sometimes we’re hindered from moving out with ideas we think will be really a blessing to you because of that.
If you want to help us, you can send a gift to Bible I’m by mail. You can also give a gift by credit card over the phone. You can call our 800 number, our printers will be glad to recite the address to your send you an envelope with our address printed on it. You can also go to the internet and go to the online bookstore. There’s a place there to give the Bibleline on the internet and it’s very simple and it’s a secure site.
We’re going to rejoin the stations that have been on break and do the second half. If your station doesn’t carry the second half, go to the internet and catch the full program. Otherwise, keep your radio dial tuned right here as we now get ready to do the second half. And we’ll now rejoin stations across America. That have been on break. You know, here we are. Bibleline Part 2. Stay tuned. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question?
You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back for a break. This is Bible and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church where I’m the pastor where Bible and is headquartered. We’re right now in our studio coming to you live as we go directly from here with digital phone lines to Detroit and then up on the satellite that bird is circling the earth at 25,000 miles up and television radio stations across America pull us off the satellite.
That’s how we get this program to you. So that’s how it’s delivered. It goes from Tampa to Detroit and up to the satellite and then from the satellite above the equator back down to your radio station and then broadcast back out to you. And of course, they pulled directly off the satellite to do the video streaming. So if you’re listening on the internet, it’s getting to you again via the satellite kind of exciting the technology today. All of that costs money and we are listeners supported and it’s you listeners of Bible line that are keeping us going and alive and really expanding outward.
We’re so excited about that. You know, Bibleline, I don’t get paid. Our staff doesn’t get paid. We are as lean as we can possibly be. The money that comes in goes directly to pay the bills to be on the radio, to be on the satellite, to pay the phone and bills and the equipment bills and all the other things that come our way, sometimes unexpected. And whenever we want to expand to something new, it helps us move a little bit further out with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Right now, through the internet, we’re reaching the world. We have 142 countries that have logged on. We are actually broadcasting our Bible and Television program in Mongolia. They’re running it for free over there. All we have to do is do the production and get it to them. They’re going to be translating it into Mongolian. Can you imagine me speaking in Mongolian? I wouldn’t even know how to impersonate that. But somebody suggests that I grow a little full-in chume mustache or something to go with the part.
But apparently we’re being broadcast in Mongolia. So radio is on in Honduras. Isn’t that amazing? Central America, we never thought we’d get outside of Tampa, and God has brought us out to the world with this message and Bibleline programs, radio and television. Thank God for all of you listeners who have partnered with us to make this possible because without your partnership, it’s real. We couldn’t be on the air. That’s right. We don’t have a piggy bank. We don’t have a reserve account.
We don’t have anybody underwriting the program. We don’t have subscribers, we don’t have pledges. We have God. And guess what? He has used people like you. He’s raised up people just like you who say, I want to see this program go out to the world and they’re helping with their prayers and their gifts to keep my one going. You can send your gift to my blind at 4811 George Road, Tampa, Florida. The zip is 333634. I know that was rather quick.
you can call 800 number, they’ll recite it to you or they’ll send you an envelope with it already printed on it. And or you can give a gift by credit card over the phone. If you go to the website, our address is all over the place there and obviously there’s a place there to give on the online bookstore where you can give a gift by credit card through that means. But pray for us. We believe Jesus is coming. Who knows?
Maybe even this year. This might be some of the final programs that we bring to the world until Jesus snatches us out and we go to meet him in the air. Certainly signs are everywhere that Christ is coming and we believe as we say so often very soon. Would you consider helping Bibleline? Would you consider sending a gift to Bibleline? You could really help us at this time, especially during the summer. And we could use your help to launch into the fall and make sure that we have everything caught up in our current with all of our expenses.
So pray for us, and if you can give a gift, that would be great. If you can’t, if you just pray for us, we’re going to be delighted because we know God does hear and answer prayer. I love Jeremiah 33. God says, call unto me, and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things. Wow, what a great verse. And we believe that is true. We have a number of phone callers out there waiting and we’re going to try to get to them right now.
We have Jack in Chesterfield, Virginia. He’s been holding since before the break. And so, Jack, we’re not going to make you hold anymore. Here you go. You’re on the air. Hi, Pastor Hank. I have to take a task when you send a tree. There’s not a creature. You have to repent and be bat thin. Alright, let’s just stop right there because again, repent the English word doesn’t mean the same thing as the Greek word metanoia translated repent. And so if you go to your English dictionary, you’re going to get this answer that Satan must jump up and down and say, wow, turn from sin or sorrow from sin.
The Greek word meta means change. The word Noya in the Greek NOIA means mine. The two words together much Noya mean a change of mind. And Peter is really saying if we were to translate this correctly in English, change your mind. His whole message was that they had made a mistake. They had crucified the Lord of glory, the Messiah. They thought that they had an imposter, a frog. And that he was a blasphemer and deserved to die. But he says in verse 36 if you read it carefully in Acts 2, therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God hath made that same Jesus, which one the one whom you have crucified both Lord, that means deity that is God and Christ that means he is the Messiah.
They were pricked in their hearts verse 37 and verse 38 of Acts chapter 2. Peter said, change your mind, repent. And then he says, be baptized in the name. not water. This is the baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus. If you change your mind and are cleansed of your sin with the authority that Christ gave in his name that all that would believe on him would be saved, then you will receive the remission of your sins, two consequences and the gift of the Holy Spirit.
So there is no works in Acts chapter to. Amazingly, Satan has gotten kind of a victory there because that verse is used by many of the people who said that Peter preached a different message. His message is the same as Paul’s and Pentecost began this age and Peter was saying, change your mind and be cleansed in the name or the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ. If you think I’m a little bit nuts on that, read 1 Corinthians 6, 11, where there he tells the Corinthians blabbers that you were sinners, and such were some of you, but you are washed.
If you read what it goes on to say in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. So there is a cleansing of washing of our sins that occurs when you place your trust in Christ. So Peter is not preaching messages down of grace. Peter says in fact at the 1st Ecumenical Council he declares a result in the 1511 and we believe that through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ we Jews will be saved even as they the Gentiles.
What a great verse that one is. So Peter is in complete agreement. He says, we believe that we shall be saved by the grace of God. Just like those Gentiles are saved by the grace of God, there was no difference between Jew and Gentile in this age. And Peter says that began at Pentecost. I believe that I would disagree with what you said about that. Well, all right. And the second question I had was the fellow who talked about Trinity.
Paul never speaks of the Holy Spirit because first of all the Holy Spirit was within us. We don’t pray to the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit prays for us. Holy Spirit never glorifies His office. He glorifies Christ. So that’s why Paul never really mentions when praying to the Father and to Jesus. Because even as we don’t know how to pray the Holy Spirit prays for us. He doesn’t pray for himself He prays for us to Jesus and to the Holy for and to To the thought.
I agree with you. But of course, he taught about the Holy Spirit. You find the Holy Spirit mentioned in all of Paul’s writings, but in fact one of his conclusions in 2 Corinthians chapter 13 you have all three members of the Godhead as he says in verse 14 of chapter 13 of Corinthians the grace. The Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen as he concludes the book.
So he certainly talks about the Holy Spirit, but I agree with what you’re saying there in his prayers. Obviously we pray to the Father through Jesus and in the direction that God the Holy Spirit is easy. I think that big mistake is glorified. Always spirit. I couldn’t agree with you more. We never glorified us. The Holy Spirit and whatever. We’re right on with that. I agree with you. a hundred percent okay thanks jack all right but that was jack in Chesterfield and uh…
right on and uh… but uh… panic cost was the beginning of the church age and peter’s message was obviously the same as Paul’s and there’s no disagreement and uh… x-238 is misunderstood by many so they want to try to move it a little bit later but x-238 is saying repent the greek word metanoia You know the phrase repent of sin doesn’t even occur in the Bible. There are repences in the Bible, but I’m amazed at how many preachers say repent of sin as though it’s on every page of the Bible and when it’s not even there at all.
And they usually define it as turning from sin which is to add works to the predeceylvation. And at the same time that they preach that, they’ll have their choir singing just as I am I come without one play but that thy blood was shed for me. It’s almost like nobody connects the dots. The preacher is saying, turn from your sin and acquire, say no. Come just like you are. And then the preacher says, don’t listen to the choir. No, you got to turn from your sin or you can’t come.
And then the choir says, don’t listen to him. Just as I am I come without one plea, but that thy blood would shed for me. I cannot believe that people aren’t thinking enough to figure this out. I’ve been in churches where they do this. And the preacher is saying, turn from sin and acquire sings 50 stanzas of just as I am at the end of the service and there is no agreement there. If you had to turn from your sin to be saved, they ought to be singing at the invitation some hymn that would reflect that.
I think I could write it, turn, turn, turn, turn right now, turn or burn, forsake or bake, toil or boil. I heard all those things as a kid and that is contrary to the Bible. We are saved by grace and repentance is included in saving faith when you believe you do change your mind. So you repent when you trust Christ as your Savior. It’s automatic. It’s a part of the process of changing your mind from what if you’re previously trusting in the trusting in Christ and when you do that you become saved at the Oh moment you do that.
We have Edgar waiting patiently on the line from Petersburg up in Virginia and Edgar welcome to Bibleline I’m version of peace, Dr. Hank, a man that he should lie, neither the son of man that Well, I’m not sure what you’re saying that he should repent. Now, I’ve been doing your study in the repentance worry study, and it’s quite palpable that, you know, God does repent, but in this verse right in the Word of the truth, what doesn’t he repent about?
Well… Well basically, God doesn’t ever change his mind, but the Bible shows us that he gives the appearance of changing his mind. For example, he was going to destroy Nineveh. He sent Jonah preached Nineveh, but they received his message, and apparently it seems was changed his mind, but what he did was delay the destruction of Nineveh because that whole generation responded to the preaching of Jonah. And they obviously cleaned up their act. They obviously believed his message and it was several hundred years later that they reverted back to what they had done and God then judged Nineveh and destroyed it.
But it appeared that God changed his mind right there. And obviously we’re all headed for hell. And when we trust Christ, it appears that God changes his mind about sending us to hell. And it’s of course based upon the fact that Jesus paid our sin debt. And when we trust him, then we come under his forgiveness. And so we’re no longer condemned as we were, but now we’re seen in Christ. And the Bible says there is no condemnation to those which are in Christ Jesus Romans 8 1.
So basically there is just simply the appearance of a change of mind. God really doesn’t change his mind about anything. Okay, and you know us unique about this Dr. Hank. I don’t know if this is you know from my screw neither the Holy Spirit bespoke this this this though is upon me but in this verse it says neither the Son of Man right here God the Father Calls himself the Son of Man Beautiful Beautiful. Well, thanks an awful lot, guy, and we appreciate you and keep on listening and keep on calling.
And we’re now going to move on to… Let’s see here. Who do we have here? We have Brenda in St. Petersburg. Brenda, welcome to Vibon. You’re on the air. Good morning, Dr. Hank. Hi, Brenda. Hi, just one. Hold on a minute. We still have, I think, the other line there was still live. Okay, Brenda, are you there? Brenda, I hope I didn’t lose you. We had a phone problem and I think I did that. I apologize. You’ll have to call back Brenda.
Somehow I dropped everybody. Some days the deacons don’t beak and the speakers don’t speak and the buttons don’t push. And we just have to try all over again here. We have Jeff in Venice floor. They called in Othea. He says, you’re talking about salvation without works, which he says he’s in a thousand percent agreement. But he says, people come to Jesus with an open heart and they don’t know anything about works. Are they still saved without much knowledge about this?
I believe that they simply come and trust Jesus like the dying thief. I’m sure he didn’t know much theology, but he simply trusted in Christ. Jesus said to him, today, thou shall be with me in paradise. there are many who are taught wrong and are coming, really offering their works. They say, yeah, Jesus, you died, but I’m going to join the church and I’m going to keep the commandments and I’m going to try to live the Christian life to earn my way to heaven.
And that’s obviously wrong and you will not be saved if you’re doing that. All of our phone lines, by the way, went down temporarily. We’ll get them right back up. I think we’re resetting our phone system here. Something happened to take them all down at one time. So maybe I’m not the one that caused that problem. But Jeff and Vanessa, yes, there are people who simply trust Christ. They don’t know much. But they simply trust him. Of course, if you do that, you are saved.
Jane in Sarasota says, we lost Jane’s question here. Hold on. Jane, as Sarah says, is eating disorder a sin? Well, if you have a medical problem, I wouldn’t say so. But obviously, gluttony, the Bible teaches, is a sin. There’s a difference. So if you just have our compulsive eater, you probably need to get that under control somehow. But no doubt about it that we are to keep our bodies healthy and eat healthy and that we are to not overeat nor are we to starve ourselves either.
Anorexia is also a problem and needs to be dealt with and maybe you might need some help with that. Well, thank you for thatTextColor question and I think we’re getting our phone lines back up here where you can get in. I think I see Brenda coming back up on our line here. So Brenda, let me get back to you and I’m so sorry that we lost that call. We don’t really know why that happened. Brenda are you there? I’m there.
Alright, sorry about that. How are you? Good morning, Dr. Hank. I’m doing okay. Sometimes the phone lines frustrate me a little bit, but otherwise we do. I’m sure they do. You had put out a challenge, kind of, a small challenge and we studied the Gospel of John about how many times the word believers are believed to be. Yeah, all the different forms, yeah. Yeah, I can’t remember if it was a radio show or the CDs. Well I do it often whenever I talk about the Gospel of John.
That’s a kind of an neat way to keep you motivated as you read the Gospel of John to look for the many times that word occurs and it makes it stand out in the text which is great. Oh it does. Do you realize how many times it’s in there? I do. Over a hundred. I hate to tell them on the air because I lose my challenge as soon as I tell you. Oh okay. Maybe I better not tell them to my guess.
Well, you want to just call me off the air with that and I’ll tell you if you’re right or not. Okay, I have to point out just how well the deity sticks out in the Gospel of John. Oh, yeah. John’s Gospel in particular is written to showblow the deity of Christ that, and it begins with it. In the beginning was the word, the word was with God, and the word was with God. And we lost Brendan up somehow, and I don’t know what happened there, But Brendan, absolutely the Gospel John is rich that way.
We are… Having a phone problem thing. But anyway, we’re now going to go. Thank you, Brendan. I’m sorry we again didn’t get to conclude that but tell our operators and they’ll see. We’ll see if you get the right number of. It’s over a hundred times though. We’re now going to go to Gary. Let’s see here. Jose. We haven’t been Jose. Jose is in Seminole, Florida. Jose. Hey, how’s it going Hank? Good. Hey, I got it. I got in with a down phone.
I can’t believe it. It’s amazing. There’s been a lot of lightning strikes and we have a storm that’s been going on. Maybe that has something to do with it. But anyway, that’s neither here nor there. What is your question, Jose? Got a quick question. Okay, with the gentleman bringing up dispensation and I was thinking the other day after doing and studying, um, stumbled at Christ, right? They, they, they didn’t, they rejected Jesus. They rejected Christ and therefore that imitation, that, um, dispensation actually was put on pause because the last seven years of the dispensation of law still have to take off the clock.
That’s Daniel’s 70th week. Once the rapture happens, the last seven years take off the clock for that one. that one. So it hasn’t ended but it’s been put on pause. And that’s why the Jews are back in the state of Israel right now in anticipation of when we get raptured out, which who knows maybe it will be this year. If it is, then the next seven years will be back on Jewish territory with the Jewish people being God’s witnesses.
The 144,000 Jewish men will come online as his witnesses. God is going to send back two Old Testament prophets. I believe Moses and Elijah. The temple in Jerusalem will be rebuilt, blood sacrifices will be offered again and so on and so on. And then Jesus will come back and many Jews will have had the blinders come off and trust Jesus and say, blessed is he that come with the name of Yeshua or Jesus and Christ will come back as their king and he will accept them as their people and the thousand year rule of Christ will be established.
It’s exciting. exciting so we’re about there but uh… do you think you think that’s doubling stone right that he said that if you blast it against me uh… there’s forgiveness but if you blast him against the holy spirit then there is a medic forgiveness not the truth stumbled at krype steven steven said she blast him against the holy spirit right after that the change over you’ll see that you’re in the near and out of the paper commission correct no the great commission occurred right there on pentecost before pentecost reads christ said you uh…
shall receive power after that the whole spirit is come upon you that happened to pentecost and you shall be my witnesses in all the world so that in next one eight the great commission is given and he tells them that it becomes empowered they’re empowered to do it and this age which would begin when those three would come upon them as pentecost Okay, so the diminishing of Israel that Paul spoke about, I forget what book it’s in, but Israel diminishes so that you know…
you know to create that jealousy the gentiles were given moments after eleven okay didn’t occur when they blast the bike no they did not that that that is not what happened there at all in fact uh… it’s at that point obviously they they killed the first Christian deacon, the first Christian witness to them, but obviously the Jews continued exactly what they had been doing. They continued to reject Christ as a nation. But they had already done so. Christ told them back in Matthew 23 that I’m out of here before his death even.
He says, you’ve rejected me and your house is going to be left under you desolate or empty and I’m not coming back until the Jewish people will say blessed to see the coming in the name of Yeshua or Jesus and that’ll happen in the tribulation period. So he announced that before he even left. You know it’s interesting that the different program changes because a lot of Christians get mixed up like the unclean meats thing. At first with Adam you couldn’t eat meat, you just ate herb and then with Noah you could You need anything you could catch.
You know, after the flood, you’re allowed to eat anything and then after that with Moses, you’re told you couldn’t have, you know, certain meats. And then back to Paul, you could eat anything again. So the program changes, if you’re not careful, could mix you up. Well, exactly. For sure. You have to note, though, that the change took place at Pentecost, and that’s when we added it to the sage. And of course, the epistles give us clarification. But that happened on the day of Pentecost.
That’s when all of a sudden, now the Gentiles were in charge. That’s why the gift of tongues. So that Jewish people could be witness to in Gentile language from day one, when really all the first Christians there at Pentecost were Jews and in order for them to be able to witness in a Gentile language, God had to give that miraculous gift. We are at the end of the program. I hope everybody listening is trusted Jesus as their only hope of heaven that he died for you that he might deliver you from this present evil world.
And if you do trust him, then God saves you. Then you need to become a disciple and live for Christ. I certainly hope that you will make that second choice as well. Don’t forget to internet.
