I’m looking forward to it and I hope you’ll. You know, the ministry of Christ changed after Israel rejected him as their Messiah. And we find here that Jesus in Matthew chapter 16 goes up to northern Israel. If you go with me on the triple, get a chance to go up here to Caesarea Philippi, one of the ten cities of the Decapolis of the Holy Spirit.

which the Romans used these cities to control that whole area with a small garrisons of soldiers which could react quickly to any disturbance or problem. And it says in verse 13 of Matthew 16 when Jesus was coming to the coast of Caesarea Philippi that’s in northern Israel and it says here he asked his disciples saying, whom do men say that I, the Son of Man am? And they said, some say that thou art John the Baptist, some say that you’re Elijah, and some say Jeremiah, or one of the prophets, and then he said unto them, but whom say ye that I am?

And Simon Peter answered and said, thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. This is a great confession of faith here. And Peter had it right on. Jesus was the Christ. That means he’s the Messiah. He’s the Messiah of Israel that had been promised. The anointed one is what it means. And the word Messiah and the word Christ are equivalent words from two different languages. The Messiah, Mishaq is from the Hebrew and Christos is from the Greek and the English form is Christ and they’re completely equivalent.

So we can talk about Messiah and the Tea and it would be completely equivalent to Christianity. Those are equivalent words and Jesus is the promised Savior that we come into the world that all the prophets spoke about. And Peter tells us that all the prophets spoke about Christ and he’s there throughout your Old Testament. I’m amazed when people tell me, where is Christ in the Old Testament? They’ve never seen him there. If you haven’t seen Christ in Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, Ruth, then you need to take a fresh look.

He’s there. We just looked at some verses in some services here at my church where in Daniel we see in chapter 7, Jesus, the Son of Man, they’re coming and a picture and prophecy of his receiving the millennial kingdom from the Father before he comes back to rule and reign. We see him in the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego as they are cast into the burning fiery furnace and King Nebuchadnezzar says, did not we cast three men bound into the fire?

And they said yes, O King, that is exactly right. He says, well I see four and one like unto the Son of God. Jesus was in that burning fiery furnace with Shadrach Meshach at Abednego and he obviously kept them from burning. That fire was so hot that all of the men that cast them into the fire were killed because of the heat but Shadrach Meshach and Abednego stepped out of that fire and they didn’t even have the smell of smoke.

Not one bit of their clothing was burnt or sinched from fire. Wow! The story is of course Christians just don’t burn. You know it’s amazing the Bible teaches us that believers will never be hurt by the eternal lake of fire. We’ll never perish. Jesus said in John 1028 it says in Revelation 2 11 you will not be hurt of the second death which is to be cast into the lake of fire in Revelation 20 verse 14 it says they were cast into the everlasting lake of fire.

This is the second death. So Peter here gives a wonderful confession of faith, thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And that of course refers to his humanity that he came and took on flesh and became the God-man who had become the savior of the world. And then Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed Art thou Simon Bargeona, or Simon Son of Jonah for flesh and blood have not revealed it to thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

So this is a revelation where God revealed Himself to mankind in a human flesh body. And then Jesus says to Peter, Thou art Peter, and upon this rock I’ll build my church. It’s interesting here. He introduces the church in a Gentile city which is Caesarea Philippine. So he goes up in the northern Galilee to a Gentile city to announce the church because the church is comprised of Jews and Gentiles but primarily. God has turned to us Gentiles for the past 2000 years to be his witnesses and that is exactly what has happened over the past 2000 years that pretty much Gentiles are those that comprise the body of Christ which is called the church.

But guess what? He’s not saying he’s building the church upon Peter. That has been a common, uh, misteaching out there. There’s a play here in the words here, uh, Thou art Peter. The word there, Peter, is Petros, literally a little rock. And then Jesus says upon this rock which the Greek word is Petra, I will build my church. In other words, he doesn’t promise to build his church upon Peter, but upon himself, as Peter himself is careful to tell us if you read his epistle over in 1 Peter chapter 2.

Peter tells us that Jesus Christ is the chief cornerstone. Jesus Christ is that stone that became a stumbling stone to the Jewish people and they stumbled over him and missed him as being the Messiah. In 1 Corinthians 3, 11 it says, For other foundation can no man lay than that which is laid which is Jesus Christ. The stone is Christ. And Christ is the one that the Old Testament prophets spoke about too. This stone that would come in the last days and fall upon the nations of this world and defeat them and then become a kingdom that would never ever be destroyed.

I think this is very significant because the Roman Catholic Church in particular has played heavily upon Peter being the one upon which the church was built and that has given them carte blanche permission to supposedly change doctrines as they go. That is absolutely wrong. We are not to change the word of God. We’re not to add to it or subtract from it, but because they claim an apostolic succession for Peter, they say that they have the authority that changed the rules as we go along.

It’s interesting, isn’t it? Several rules have been changed as of late. Wasn’t too long ago here that they changed the rule about eating meat on Friday. That used to be a mortal sin. In other words, you’d go to hell if you ate meat on Friday, but now it’s no longer a mortal sin. Don’t you feel sorry for those who lived prior to just about 25 or 30 years ago? Because they went to hell for eating meat on Friday, but now you don’t go to hell because of eating meat on Friday.

The Catholic Church is changing every day, changing the rules as they go, but truth doesn’t change. The Bible never changes. It says in Psalm 119, 89, forever, O Lord thy word is settled in heaven, God will never change his word. It’s set in concrete. And when God makes a promise, as he does throughout the Bible, for example, John 3, 16, God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Christ should not perish but have everlasting life.

That’s a wonderful promise. If you believe, according to that promise, in Christ as your Savior, that means you trust him as the one who died and shed his blood to pay for your sin. The Bible says you’ll not perish because Christ perished in your place but that you’ll have everlasting life. I hope you’ve done that. When the only way you can get to have it is to trust Christ, there is no other way. We’re not saved by our works, by our conduct, by our obedience.

We’re not saved by our behavior. We’re saved by what Christ did at the cross. And when you trust in His finished work, God saves you. I’m Dr. Anklinz from This is Bibleline. Great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning in. You can call us and ask your question if you have one on the air by calling 1-800-5-6-7. 576-3771. 1-800-576-3771, I invite you to give us a call right now. We’re going to take off-air questions and on-air questions and you’re welcome to call in with whatever question you might have and we’ll try to answer those for you.

We find here off the air we have Reginald in Sarasota, Florida calls in just now and He says, why did the two disciples on the Emanse road not recognize Jesus as he walked and talked with him? And did they recognize Jesus? And I… They didn’t recognize him because it says Christ held back there being able to understand or see who he was. But they recognized him later when they broke bread with him and they realized that this was indeed to the side.

This was the day that Christ came back from the dead. You can read about it in Luke chapter 24. There these two men were sat as they walked along that road to a mass which is a small town, not far from Jerusalem and Christ kind of walked alongside of them and they were sad in Christ, asked them why they were sad and they said because they had really put their trust that Christ was the Messiah but now he was dead and three days had passed and he was still dead and they obviously were disheartened and then Christ tells them old fools and so of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken and he tells them that there would be two comings of the Messiah.

The first coming was predicted that he would suffer and he would die. Then of course come back from the dead. Then he showed himself later that day alive to all the disciples and asked them to handle him and see him. Apparently he prevented them from understanding who he was until that moment. We have off the air anonymous in Plant City calling in and anonymous says few chosen, I’m not too sure if I understand the question before the foundation of the world.

Is this for salvation? Well it says a many are called but few are chosen and yes that is probably talking about salvation. Many are called means that he invites everybody to be saved. the whosoever of John 3 16. But God only chooses to save those that believe. So it says in John 3 16, for God’s love the world, that’s everybody. So everybody’s invited. He gave Christ as a Savior to die to pay for our sins, that whosoever anyone and everyone is invited to believe, they’re many are called, but then God’s chooses to save only those that believe, that whosoever believe it in him should not perish but have everlasting life.

But if you don’t believe, if you don’t trust Christ, then you will perish and not have eternal life. We have Jeff in Venice, Florida and Jeff, welcome to the Bible. Good morning, Dr. Hank. I’m going to be writing what you were just talking about. I was reading a theology book and it was talking about predestination versus free will. And it brought Matthew 11, 25, 27. I was wondering if you can explain those to me where Jesus is praying, thanking the Father for hiding the truth.

Well, that is the truth. He hides the truth from those that are not really wanting to know truth. So if you don’t want to know the truth and you’re rejecting light, then you’ll be headed for further darkness. But yet he makes it very clear to somebody who’s seeking the key is if you seek me, the Bible says you shall find me when you shall search me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29, 13. But a person who is not seeking and doesn’t want an other Lord, they will go into further darkness.

That principle is plainly put in Romans chapter 1 where it says that God plants a knowledge of himself, the fact that he exists in every individual. Because that which may be known of God is made known in them, for God has showed it to them Romans chapter 1 verse 19. But then it says, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were they thankful and they became vain in their imaginations and their foolish heart was darkened.

So when a person knows that there’s a God, they become responsible, but if they don’t want to find him, then they will ultimately find themselves in greater darkness and they’ll miss the truth. And what a sad thing. But God wants for everybody to be saved. The Holy Spirit is convicting every man of the fact that he’s lost. is seeking every man that they might be saved, but if you don’t want to know the truth, then God will hide the truth from you.

Okay. On the heels of that, are you under the impression? I don’t know if this is right or wrong because it appears in some areas of scripture like the Pharaoh and stuff that people that are denying the truth and do not want to truth have their hearts hardened further. Well you know in Pharaoh’s case God never hardened his heart concerning salvation. if no verse says that he hardened his heart as concerning letting the children of Israel go. And you see that quite clearly in those passages back in Exodus that God was He said, I’m going to bring a judgment upon Egypt and all the gods of Egypt.

In fact, all the 10 plagues were in attack, each one of them directly against the gods of Egypt. But it says here in Exodus 14, verse 4, for example, I will harden Pharaoh’s heart that he should follow after them, and I’ll be honored upon Pharaoh and upon all of his hosts that the Egyptians may know that I am the Lord. really got ahead of mine here evangelism and wanting the Egyptians to come to know who the true and living God was.

He attacked all the gods of Egypt with the 10 plays and then he hardens Pharaoh’s heart not about his salvation. It doesn’t say, I’ll harden Pharaoh’s heart so that it’ll go to hell. But he says, I’ll harden Pharaoh’s heart, that he shall follow after the Jews that is across the Red Sea and I’ll be honored upon Pharaoh and upon all of his army that the Egyptians may know that I am the Lord. So God really never hardens your heart so you don’t come to trust him, but he hardens his heart relationship too.

And the whole point was so that the whole nation of Egypt would realize they were worshiping false gods. They had been terribly misled and now they needed to know that the God of Israel was the true and living God and that in him was salvation. You know that word spreads throughout all the known world at that time. In fact when they came to Jericho, Rahab said, we heard and fears spread throughout the land about your God being the true God after he had destroyed the superpower of the world at that time.

She obviously became a believer and was a woman of faith in the Messiah prior to their ever coming to spy out the city of Jericho. She says, I know and believe that your God is the true living God and you see the scarlet rope hung out her window, a picture of the blood of Christ throughout the Old Testament that brings us right up to Christ and the shed blood that he shed at the cross. Okay. Can I ask one more question on the subject?

Sure. I forget where I read this because I’ve been studying this topic and there was a group of individuals were predestined for damnation. And I think it might have been in one of John’s letters. Do you know where that is and could you explain that if you know what I’m talking about with verse? Well, I think he’s talking about maybe you might be talking about something in Peter, I might imagine. But basically he’s talking about those that had rejected the Savior.

Let me see if this might be it. It says verse 17 of 2 Peter 2, These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with the tempest, to whom the midst of darkness is reserved forever. I don’t know if that sounds like the verse or not. But basically, if you read the first part of the chapter, it says, These are people who bring in false teachings, even damnable heresies, and then it says they deny the Lord that bought them.

That speaks about Calvary and it says, bring upon themselves swift destruction. So yes indeed they will go to hell and hell is reserved for them because they have rejected the Savior and they bring this destruction of hell upon themselves because they reject him. But then Peter goes on to make it very clear in 2 Peter 3 that the Lord is not slacked verse 9 of chapter 3 concerning his promise as men can slackness but is long suffering or patient to us were not willing that any should perish.

He doesn’t say not willing that many might perish, but he says any. God doesn’t want anybody to perish, but that all ALL should come to repentance or change of mind where they trust Christ as their Savior. Yeah, I get into this study and with these topics, and with this one, the dog chasing my tail, because I end right back at the same spot, but I just kind of figured in any case is still the exact same foundation. So salvation to play.

So exactly. Well, if you come up with that verse, call me back. Jeff. Yes, sir. Thank you. All right. That was just down in the Venice and Venice is south here of Tampa, Florida. And we welcome you to call us here at Bible. By the way, if you’ve never trusted Christ, that is the most important thing facing you because your whole eternity It is based upon whether or not you know Jesus as your Savior. All that believe on Him are chosen to go to heaven.

All that reject Christ are lost for all eternity. And that is obviously very, very important for you to know. Unless you trust Christ, you will not make heaven. You will be lost for all eternity. You can just whisper prayer right now and receive the Lord as your Savior. You can just say, God, I’m a sinner. I don’t understand much about the Bible. But I believe Jesus Christ died for me, paid for my sins, wise death and shit but was buried and rose again from the dead.

The moment you trust Him, God, up in heaven, saves you. Then there’s a second choice. to be made, and that is of service. And that brings about reward and blessings, both here and in eternity. So salvation is a gift, but rewards are earned. And by the way, unbelievers go to hell because of unbelief, but they’ll also be judged according to their works, and the result for them will be the degree of punishment in hell. Don’t die without Christ. And if you do, you’ll regret it for all eternity because there’s no way that you had to go to hell because Christ died for everyone.

And God doesn’t want anyone to perish. He wants everyone to have everlasting life. Again, give our 800 number a call and you might want to inquire about the trip to Israel. Maybe you’d like to give a gift to Bible and help assure this program stays on the air where you’re listening right now. Obviously, this is a listener-supported program, and we don’t have the revenue to do all that we’re doing. We are counting on our listeners, and we’re counting on you.

Pray about that, and certainly pray for Bibleline, but also we hope that you will give a gift to Bibleline, and assure that this program continues and we can expand outward. Well, we’re going to go to break now, and then we’ll come back and be Bibleline part too. So don’t go away. I’ll be right back. Go away Bibleline will be back in a moment. We hope that you’ll come out tonight. That’s at 7 till 9 and we’re teaching the class called meeting the challenge. We’re going to teach another class following this and I’ll announce probably what that course is maybe tomorrow. I’m trying to find lines in my mind which of course we’re going to go for, but I think you’re going to find it very fascinating. We also want you to know that Bibleline is lister supported. We don’t have the resources to be able to do what we’re doing and we are counting on our listers.

That’s right. It’s people just like you who love the program who say, I’d like to help and we can use your help right now. We really can. And if you can send me a gift to Bibleline, it would be greatly appreciated. And you can do that by mail. You can call our printers. And again, we’re all volunteers here, myself included. We don’t pay any salaries to anybody related to Bible. And this is a ministry we believe there’s an urgency and real importance to getting this message out. And that’s what we are attempting to do here.

We’re going to take your call if you call in. And we’ll also try to catch the offer of questions and get those all taken care of as well. We have Mike in Tampa, Florida, and Mike, welcome to Bible End, thanks for being patient and waiting through the break. Mike, you’re on the air. Hello? Hello? Yes. You’re on the air. Oh, hey, my name’s Mike. I was wondering if you could explain the concept of predestination, the Bible talks in some places about you are predestined before the foundation of the earth.

I just care, so I’m having a problem but working that out, so that being ridden in the book of the Land’s Book of Life before the foundation, I want to keep you just explaining it. I’m driving, so what I’m going to do is hang out, but I listen to it. I appreciate it. All right, Mike, and thank you for that call. Well, the answer is that God has, before the foundations of the world, chosen to save all that would believe.

And so God has not made your choice for you. John 3 16 is a bona fide offer. God so loved the whole human race, the world, and He gave Christ to die for everyone in the human race. That whosoever any that would believe, they would not perish because God has determined before the foundations of the world to save all that would believe. Theo Moody said it well. He said the whosoever wills are the elect and the whosoever won’t are the non-elect.

and some of the… And some of the verses though obviously catch people off guard, but in Ephesians 1,4, a that is so often quoted, it says that God has chosen you. Before the foundation of the world in him and the key phrase there is in him because to be in Christ in him which is used throughout your entire New Testament, it is something that you do when you trust Christ. Philippians 3 9 says be found in Christ by faith.

So when we place our trust in Christ, we are then taken by the Holy Spirit and placed into the body of Christ, which is the body called the church. The Bible says that God has chosen before the foundation of the world to save everybody that is in Christ. The illustration I like is, let’s say there’s an airplane leaving this afternoon from Tampa International Airport, and it’s going to go non-stop to Los Angeles, California. Well, the airline is long before determined where that airplane is going to go.

and you can go online or you can call up their reservation number, and you can book passage on that particular flight. But the airline has determined that that particular flight number, leaving at such and such a time this afternoon from Tampa International Airport, which is right one block away from where we are right this moment here in Tampa, Florida, that that plane will arrive after it leaves here nonstop in Los Angeles. Well, guess what? Let’s call it Flight Jesus, but God has determined that everybody in Flight Jesus goes to heaven.

And you have opportunity to book passage in Flight Jesus by trusting Christ as your Savior. So God has already determined before the foundation of the world that everybody in Flight Christ or Flight Jesus will go to heaven. But you are found in Christ when you place your faith in Christ, Flip Pins 39. So it’s really quite that simple. And by the way, everybody’s name is written in the Book of Life before the foundation of the earth because God intended for everybody to be saved.

That’s right. We’re taught wrong about this Book of Life thing. But if you become a believer, according to Revelation 3.5, God makes a promise that from that point on, once you become a believer, your name will never come out of the book. But if you die as an unbeliever, your name is stricken at death from the book of life. So God actually gives us an opportunity to go to heaven. He wants for everybody to be saved. Christ died for everybody in the human race.

God’s the love of the world, every human being, that whosoever would believe, and when you believe your name is guaranteed to never come out of the book but if you die as an unbeliever it’s a death your name is stricken from the book. Thank you so much Mike in Tampa Florida and we hope that answered your question for you. We have Stephen, Sarah son of Florida. Steve welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hello, how you doing today? Good.

It seems like we’re a Christian founded as a Christian nation and people of other faiths or expand it seems like they’re almost invited to do it without open arms and christian is being choked out in particular things like islam you went to a mobile nation you couldn’t really seems like bill the church or you have to be a part of why are we doing allowing them to do that in this country maybe kind of talk about that well the muscles are are set on world domination that is their purpose in fact our media doesn’t show the pictures of what they do in other countries and They had a recent march in London and they said that England will be the first country they take over in Europe.

So they’re planning on world domination and it says they have on their placards and their signs that Israel rather that Islam will dominate the world. They also say that behead those who insult Islam. So they’re going to be beheading people that don’t become Islamic. And you know, when we read the book of Revelation, when it talks about people being beheaded, I think we have the answer for the first time here that obviously once the rapture happens, Islam will become a real monster and everybody that confesses Christ will have their head chopped off by Islam.

I think they are the ones that will be doing that and they’re already all over Europe and they’re getting a foothold everywhere in the world and they claim in the next 25 years they will control the entire world. Obviously they don’t know that God has a plan that will cut them off at the past and every unbeliever, no matter whether Buddhist or Hindus or Muslim, will be killed by Christ at the second coming, and all of them will spend eternity in hell.

The only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ, and obviously the Bible is very plain about that. So we know obviously they’re on a wrong path and they need to be led to Christ. But they are out. Thank you very much. Thank you Steve. That was Steve down in Sarasota, Florida and we have some off air questions. Augusto in Tampa, Florida calls in and 1 Corinthians 13 it reads about those gifts ending. What then is that which is perfect?

Is this Jesus? Well you’re talking You’re talking about 1 Corinthians 13 verses 8 through 10 where it talks about three gifts in particular, the gift of knowledge, the gift of prophecy, and the gift of tongues would come to a complete halt when that which is perfect is come, which we believe is the New Testament record. And it can’t be Jesus. It’s interesting that in Greek we don’t have periods and commas and exclamation points and so on. sentence construction is built on the gender endings given to verbs, adverbs, nouns and so on.

So everything there in verse 10 is all neuter in Greek. It doesn’t have a male or female gender. So that means it has to refer to a neuter subject, that which is perfect. Well, it can’t refer to Christ because the Greek word for Christ is Christos which is masculine and so therefore that doesn’t match up. Some say well it’s love, this is the love chapter 1st Corinthians 13, but love in the Greek is feminine, it can’t refer to love.

It has to refer to the Bible. You know back in Psalms 19 verse 5 says the law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul, making wise the simple. James, written before 1 Corinthians, calls the Word of God in James 1.25, that which is perfect. So we believe when the New Testament record was completed, these gifts of tongues, prophecy and knowledge all ceased. And those that are claiming to do it today are out of order and wrong. They don’t exist today.

What is being done today is a gibberish that is not a known foreign language. The real gift was a known foreign language and was given in order to evangelize the lost. It says in 1 Corinthians 14, 22, wherefore tongues are for a sign not to those that believe, not to those that believe, not to those that believe, but a sign to those that do not believe. I have challenged people now for years and years. I’ve never had one taker yet.

And that is, if you have the gift of tons, get in my car, let’s go find a crowd of people in a park, in a mall, I’ll round them up. If I have to freak out and stand on my head, I’ll get a crowd together, then I’ll introduce you. And if you have the real gift of tons, it’s assigned to unbelievers, we’re going to have revival. I can’t wait. Let’s go. And I’ll buy you a steak dinner when we get all done.

Nobody has ever gone with me at all. wants to use it in public. The gibberish that they do they know is not assigned to unbelievers. What we have today is a counterfeit. This is not the real gift. The real gift has ceased 2,000 years ago. When the New Testament record, the book of Revelation was written, that ended it and church history verifies that and we have obviously even the Pentecostals admit this in 1906. The Azusa Street incident out in California was the revival of this modern day a tongues movement which is a gibberish and is done by all the war religions.

It is not from God. God, the Mormons do the gibberish. They’re not even close to being Christians. If you read Mormon theology, they all claim to be aliens. They all claim they migrated here from the planet Cola. I’m serious. I didn’t make that up. They migrated here to earth from the planet Cola. They’re aliens. all in their belief system. So obviously, why did God give these aliens this gibberish? Well, it’s not the real gift. In any case, thank you for that question, Agusto, in Tampa.

We’re now going to go to Mike in Tampa, Florida, and Mike, off air, leaves this question. since those in Matthew 722 are saying in thy name are they non-believers? Are there many today saying in thy name that are not believers also? And the answer is yes. Matthew 722 says many. We’ll say to me in that day. That’s really in the context. They’re the great white-thrown judgment at the end of the Millennial Kingdom of Christ when the lost are about to be slain or test into the eternal lake of fire.

Christ… He says that they will say to him, Lord, Lord, and then they will brag about what they had done for Christ in His name, and you can’t do anything for Christ to be saved. You have to trust in what Christ did for you. That’s the exact opposite. It was Christ, death, and shed blood to purchase our salvation. But these people are bragging and saying, why we preached in your name? Why we healed in your name? And why we did many wonderful works in your name?

Christ’s wrong answer verse 23 of Matthew 7 says and I will say to them I never knew you. I never knew you. None I once knew you and I lost you. That’s impossible. He said I never knew you. Depart for me you that work iniquity. So these are people that are claiming to be Christian but yet are trusting in their works to be saved. They’re trusting in what is called Lordship Salvation. They say Lord, Lord. They acknowledge the Lordship of Christ and notice they practice Lordship and they say, look at what we did, why we preached in your name, we healed in your name, and we did wonderful works in your name.

Christ, the answer to that is hell. It says, depart from me, ye cursed in the everlasting fire. And so these are lost because they never trusted Christ in his shed blood as the means of their salvation. We have Wilburn in Richmond, Virginia and Wilburn. Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Good morning, Dr. Hank. Good morning. We’re questions talk about our souls becoming born again. But my question is when is the soul born if multiple births come from a single fertilized egg?

Well, obviously each soul, if her twins or triplets, each one of them obviously have soul and it happens at conception, my view. So life begins at conception and that’s why abortion is wrong. And when you become born again, it’s when that person receives a new birth into the family of God. We, by our physical birth, are entering into the human race, but the new birth, which Christ spoke about, takes us into God’s family. The Bible says that we become the sons of God when we are born again.

In John 1-12 it says to as many as received Christ, to them God gave authority for them to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name, which were born, and then it says at the last of verse 13 there of God. They are born of God, the new birth brings you into God’s family, the physical birth brings you into the human race. Thank you Wilbur, do we now have Adam in Tampa, Florida? Adam, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air.

Yes, my question just kind of has to do with what that previous call from Venice is talking about the hardening of hearts. The Jewish people are, I’m getting this from 1 Peter chapter 2 and verse 8. They don’t because they disobeyed the message, which is also what they were destined for. Well, we know. Well, not individually, but corporately they have rejected the Messiah, but yet percentage wise I believe they’re probably and have always been more Jews that know Christ the Savior than our Gentiles.

only perhaps 30 million Jews in the world and there are as of this morning, I understand I didn’t see it happen, but they said the 300th million person in the United States was born and our world population is exceeding, I guess, now 6 billion people. So if you subtract the Jews from off this whole planet, you still have 5 billion, 970 many in Gentiles, and I have a number of Jewish people that are members of my church that have accepted Jesus as their Messiah that are Jewish.

And so if you talk about percentages and brought that out to the world, there are obviously many more Jewish people that know Christ is Savior than Gentiles. But as a nation, they have rejected the Messiah, and it’s because they obviously have not sought after him but the Bible does tell us that there will be a remnant after the rapture that will believe on Christ and they will be the ones that will enter into the thousand year millennial kingdom. But you’ll notice they were cut off according to the book of Romans because of their unbelief.

Its belief and unbelief and they certainly had the opportunity to believe and they still do and as I find it many Jewish people still are trusting the Lord and I’ve led many to Christ here in this country and in Israel and other places. In Romans chapter 10, I love this passage. Paul says, brethren, my heart’s desire. And prayer to God for Israel is that they might be saved. I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.

And this is the same trap that Gentiles fall into as well. Verse 3 says, for they going about to, for they being ignorant of God’s righteousness and going about to establish their own righteousness. In other words, they’re trying to earn their way to heaven by works, have not submitted themselves under the righteousness of God for Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believes in God. So it’s clear here that salvation is by faith, whether it’s for Jews or Gentiles.

It goes on to say later here in this chapter 10 of Romans, which is wonderful. It says in verse 12, there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek. The same Lord overall is rich into all that call upon him, for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. So Jews people will save the same way, and I find that many of them are trusting the Lord right now. right now. And certainly no one is eternally damned to hell because God chose them to go to hell.

He chooses not to save those that reject Christ, but he chooses to save all those who do believe on Christ. And that decision was made before the foundation of the earth, Well, just one more question that kind of ties in with is in Romans 9 verse 18 says, for God and mercy on who we want to have mercy. That’s true. harden to me wants to heart right and he’s talking there about well I don’t know if it says exactly that it says in verse yeah verse 18 is the one you’re talking about therefore he have mercy on whom he’ll have mercy and that is he decided before the foundation of the earth I’ll have mercy on all those that trust Christ the Savior and for those who reject that message he said yes he would harden them but again if you look further down he tells us in for the end

of chapter 9 says what shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which did not follow after righteousness, have attained righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith. But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, have not attained to the law of righteousness, wherefore verse 32 says why? Because they sought it not by faith. They sought it as it were by the works of the law, for they stumbled at that stumbling stone. So here again, God chose, yes, to save or have mercy on those who need to have mercy on, but the ones who need to have mercy on were the ones that would trust Christ.

By grace it says in Ephesians, are you saved through faith in Christ? So God’s mercy is displayed upon those who put their trust in Christ who died for their sins, and God’s grace is not upon those who attempt to be saved by works. In Romans 11 it says, if it be of works, then it’s no more of grace. Otherwise grace is not grace. So God bestows his grace upon all that would believe on Christ, but those who do not will not have his mercy and will go to hell.

But the choice is much. Thank you. That clear is about. Thank you. Okay. Beautiful. Thank you for that tall. And that was Adam in Tampa. Elaine in the land, Florida just called in and she said, why are there so many different translations of the Bible? is because every publisher wants to have their own which they have the exclusive copyright on so they can make money. When the Good News Bible came out years ago now, I call it by the way the bad news Bible, it’s terrible, but when the Good News Bible came out they sold 200 million New Testaments of the Good News Bible.

Think about it, if they made 50 cents a Bible and they sold 200 million Bibles, how much that they make. The profit was $100 million. Does that answer your question? Well, some of these new ones are terrible. The NIV that you’ve asked about is equivalent to the Jehovah’s Witness Bible. Even the title is the same. New world translation is what the Jehovah’s Witnesses call their Bible. The NIV is the new international version, new and new international and world are the same, version and translation are the same.

Same title. There are 44 verses that the NIV drops in their entirety. Did you know that the Jehovah’s Witness Bible drops the same 44 verses? Did they get together, maybe? And the same themes run through both of them. You can take a Jehovah’s Witness Bible and the NIV and compare and they’re almost alike. The New King James also jumps in there and I wish they had just changed the visa vows, but they didn’t. They changed the text and they had works, the salvation and changed everything.

The message Bible I don’t even want to discuss. That is so disrespectful toward God in the Lord’s Prayer. I could never pray that prayer. Give me three squares every day instead of thanking God for our daily bread. It seems like in God’s face, a disrespectful Bible and it changes in some places the meaning totally away from what the text is really talking about. Thank you for that question Elaine and we have a great book in our resource center here called New Age Bible Versions that will show you where these Bibles go off.

It covers about 20 of the most recent ones and why you shouldn’t. It’s about 800 page book for a gift of about $15 that will really just help you. You can also call and we can send you the NIV quiz, which is a quiz on those 44 verses that are not in the NIV and you’ll get a zero if you use the NIV. It’s a real wake up for those who have the NIV. Look for Acts 8.37. It’s not there in your Bible.

You’ll find verse 36 verse 37. 8, but verse 37 is gone. Acts 8.37 is missing. Key verse in Acts chapter 8 and they drop key verses. I wouldn’t want the NIV. I’m Dr. Anglinschirm.
