We’re going to get into the Bible for a little bit and then we’ll be taking our callers and we have callers from all over and we just got a very nice email from a listener in Swansboro, North Carolina. Michael writes in and says, God bless and protect and prosper Bibleline Ministries. Hank, please make your Sunday sermons available on DVD at a reasonable So we can collect them and we’re going to be doing that Mike and then he says thank you Again, thank you.
It’s because of your ministry that I found the truth and got saved and we hear stories like that every week of people getting saved through Bible and and that just really Thills us we’re gonna turn in our Bibles today to Mark’s gospel chapter three. I hear so many times people bring up the question what is the unpardonable sin and And this is a wonderful passage in Mark where we have the answer made so clear. Christ had healed a man that was blind and numb so that he both saw and spake.
The religious leaders couldn’t deny the miracle. And so rather than try to play down the miracle, they knew it had happened, they could deny it. They said that, yes, Christ heals, but he doesn’t find the power of basil bulb or the prince of the demons. Satan’s power and not by the power of the Holy Spirit. And so we find here that Christ says to these, verily I say unto you, verse 28 of Mark 3, all sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men and blasphemies, wherewith soever they shall blaspheme.
But it says, but he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit have never forgiven us, but is in danger of eternal damnation. And here’s your answer. It’s right here in the text, Mark 3.30 says, because, his reason why, because, because they said Christ hath an unclean spirit. In other words, the unpardonable sin is really the rejection of Christ, is to say that Christ was an imposter, a fraud, a counterfeit. He was a charlatan, a deceiver, not the Savior.
And so yes he could heal, but he wasn’t healing by the power of the Holy Spirit that came upon him at the baptism with John the Baptist, but he healed by the power of Satan. So it’s really the same as unbelief or rejection of Christ as Savior. So if you reject Christ, that is the part of sin. To say that Christ was not God and who took on flesh and that he did not heal by the power of the Holy Spirit.
To say that he was an imposter, a fraud, a counterfeit. That is the blasphemy here. So this sin cannot be committed by a believer. If you are a believer, then you cannot commit this blasphemy. It is only committed by an unsaved person. And It says here very clearly in verse 29 they are in danger of eternal damnation and that’s because they can still change your mind before they die and recognize who Christ is and trust Him as their Savior and be saved.
So they are in danger. A eternal damnation because they still have opportunity to get saved. If they get saved before they die, if they trust Christ, if they change their mind about who Christ is and receive Him as the Savior, they’re saved. But here was a religious crown that could not deny the miracle that Christ did. And they said that He heals, yes, but He doesn’t do it by the power of the Holy Spirit. He does it by the power of Bezabob.
or the prince of the demons or Satan. And that’s really, bottom line, a rejection of Jesus Christ and who He is. So if you die without Christ, you’ll go to hell. It says in John 3.18, he to believeeth on Christ is not condemned, but he to believeeth not is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten son of God. I’m Dr. Hank Vins from Mrs. Bibleline. I pray that you have trusted Christ as your Savior.
If you do, then you are saved and you could never commit the unpardonable sin. It’s only committed by those who are unbelievers. It’s the rejection of the person of Christ. It’s to say he is not the Son of God. He is not the Savior. He is not the one who paid for your sins at Calvary. And that is the blasphemy that the Bible talks about. Part 330 has an answer for you because they said Christ hath an unclean spirit.
The phone number here by blind is 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. Alright we’re going to go now to the phone lines here and we have Dale calling in from winter haven Florida and Dale welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yes sir, how you doing, Hank? Good you got a question? Yes, sir. First I’d say I appreciate the thing you do and I know Jesus is proud of you. And first question is my sister, she believes it’s been 20 years. And I’ve heard you say in your old three score and ten.
And she’s a big believer in being a hen if you could talk about that. All right. Yeah, if you the first people that call in and order the Sunday sermons, we’re going to give you years where the Sunday sermons on CD plus an extra three months of Sunday sermons. So you’ll get from July 2005 through last month, October 2006, 15 months of Sunday sermons. I think that’s about 70 something CDs and you’ll be do a lot of listening for 200, a gift of the Bible which will really help us out at this time, a gift of $250 to buy the one.
You’ll have to talk to our operators about that. But anyway, on the question of 120 years, they have to get that from Genesis chapter 6 where God gave the world 120 years to get saved while God was waiting for the completion of the Ark. It took 120 years for no one to build the Ark and God waited during those days to give people opportunity to get saved. As far as length of life, Psalm 90 tells us we have three score and ten.
Some people will live longer, some will live less, but that is the length of life that God has appointed for us to live since Noah’s flood. Prior to the flood they lived longer and length of life will be increased again in the millennial kingdom when Christ is back ruling here on the earth. But right now the length of life is pointed 70 years, 3 score and 10, Psalm chapter 90. And as far as Benny Henn, he believes in a works salvation, a looser salvation.
I actually heard him just a week ago on television and he said, what a real Christian is as someone and any quotes the passages in the Bible that have to do with discipleship, that you have to hate your father and your mother and your brothers and your sisters and your wife and your own life also. Of course, if you read the verse in Luke 14, 26, it says, if you don’t do that, you cannot be my disciple. Of course, the word hate there is a comparative term in the Greek and it means to love the the Lord so much that your love for others in contrast is hatred.
It doesn’t actually mean for you to hate your father and mother and so on. But anyway, he said, unless you do that, you couldn’t be saved. And then of course it goes on to say you have to deny yourself and take up Christ’s cross. And unless you do that, you cannot be, it says in the scripture in verse 27 of Mark, rather Luke 14, Mark 14, Luke chapter 14 verse 27, it It says that you cannot be my disciple, but it doesn’t say you can’t be saved.
So he mixes the Christian life with what is required for salvation. And obviously, unless you trust Christ alone, you cannot be saved. Oh, thank you very much. All right, you’re most welcome. Thanks a lot, Dale, for calling in from Winterhaven, Florida. I’m sure listening on AM 910, the station here, 570, 910, go together here in the Tampa Bay area. And thank you. We had Hugh Swift just called in and he said this works out great. He just got our sermons from Palm Harbor.
That’s wonderful. And anybody else that wants to get those, we got nine more sets to go. That’s 15 months of Sunday sermons on CD for a gift to help Bibleline up $250. And we have nine more sets ready to go. And so call in and give your gift of $250 and you’ll be able to get 15 months of Sunday sermons here. By the way, we’re webcasting now our Sunday sermons and they are now going to be available on DVD as well as CD.
And we’re going to be offering those at a good rate. So if you want to get them, we’ll offer the four Sunday messages for the month on DVD for a gift of $40, which I think will be wonderful. And they’re really nice. I’ve been watching how they’ve turned out. Sound and video is really quality. So we’re excited. We just got a donation of $500 from a listener for the CDs. And again, that’ll really help Bible and Bible and really could use your help as we close out this year.
And we need to do some catch up in some areas. And we want to keep all of our stations on the air. So that would help us a great deal. Thank you so much. Whoever that person was, it just gave that gift of $500 to Bible and. We want to get to your question so you can call us here at 1-800-576-3771. We have Tim in Tampa, Florida, says he and his girlfriend go to different churches and at times go to the same church.
Should they worship in the same church? Well, it seems logical that if you are a boy and girlfriend and perhaps thinking about marriage, you would hope that you’d want to attend the same church when you get married. So I think it would be great. Whatever the differences are, you need to be resolved before you get married. Certainly a believer is told to not marry an unbeliever. First Corinthians 739 says we’re to marry only in the Lord, which means that we as a believer would find another believer.
And then obviously then we are able to share in our belief system and not have things that are not that we’re not in agreement with. And of course there’s some great verses that we’ll talk about that. So I think if you’re doctrinally sound, you need to find a doctrinally sound church. And unfortunately today you have to work at that because more and more churches have really not endured sound doctrine as the Bible said. and they have let their itching ears attract them to churches that just entertain them rather than teach them the Word of God.
If you read I chapter 2 and verse 41, the early church was dynamic because they met together every week on the first day of the week and it says that they continued steadfastly. First at the top of the list was the Apostles’ Doctrine. They came together to study the Word of God. And of course it says the Apostles doctrine there because the New Testament as yet was not written and that was right at the very beginning of the church right after Pentecost.
And it was not till about 20 years later that the New Testament began to be written and was completed by the end of the first century around IAD 96 with the book of Revelation being the final book added to the New Testament, completing the 27 books that we have in our New Testament. But the first thing that they came together to do was not to have praise and worship. Their number one thing that they came to do was to study the Apostles’ Doctrine and to fellowship and to break bread and to pray.
And then of course they went out witnessing and shared the Gospel and that early church turned the world upside down. We have Bertie in St. Petersburg and Bertie, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hi, this is Bertie. Hi there, how are you? Good. I was talking to my daughter and grandson, living in South Florida where this radio station isn’t on anymore, and I’m not this radio station, your program. My program is not on. We’re hoping to get back on the air soon, and it looks like maybe in December we’ll get on the air down there.
Okay, well I was talking to him about believing with your, you know your mind and about not expecting into your heart because your heart is just a muscle and they both jumped on me real quick and said a lot of people are going to miss it by 18 inches. I hear that so often and it’s so wrong because they say that there’s 18 inches between heaven and hell the distance between your brain and your or your head and your heart and they say you might have a head knowledge but you have to have a heart knowledge and it’s just craziness because that’s just not even true.
We believe with our brain and it’s not you know it came out of the 1611s when when at that time they believed you actually fought with your heart and the Greek word translated heart really means the center of your thought processes and if they had been up to speed in their science they would have translated it brain and then we’d stay in say instead of I love you with all my heart, we would say I love you with all my brain.
That doesn’t sound very romantic because we’ve gotten caught up with that phrase of the heart, but we really do believe in our mind. The way I like to say it, and I think what they’re talking about is that you have to have not just mental ascent to historical facts about Christ, you have to actually trust that He died for you to be saved. And I say it like this, Christ died, that’s history. You can acknowledge the historical facts that Christ lived and died and go to hell.
But when you say Christ died for me, that is salvation. In other words, when you personally accept or trust that Jesus made that payment on the cross for your sins, that’s what God says. So in fact, I was raised in church and I never did ever not acknowledge the historical facts of the life of Christ. I believe he died. I believe he died to pay for sins. I believe he was buried. I believe he rose from the dead. I knew all those things, but I never had understood that salvation was a gift, and if I had personally trusted that Christ did that for me, I would be saved.
I was counting on my works to get me to heaven because that’s what my church taught. But when the night I got saved, I switched from just an intellectual knowledge about what Christ did to personally trusting that He did it for me, and that’s how I got saved. That’s what they’re trying to say, but they make it more confusing when they say this 18 inch thing between the head and the heart. Yeah, because it’s that the devil believes in Jesus, but I said, yeah, but that’s different.
Of course he believes them, because he knew. Well, there and James is talking about there the judgment of believers at the judgment of Christ and how the demons also are going to be assigned a degree of punishment and how at the Great White Throne Judgment and they are talking about fear and they tremble, they believe that there is judgment coming just like there will be, you know, that James is talking about the Judgement Seed of Christ and how the believers will have no profit if they have no works.
It doesn’t talk about you have to work to be saved. And it says there that the demons also recognize that they are going to be judged at the Great White Throne judgment and assigned a degree of punishment and help. And in 1 Corinthians 6 it actually says that we’re going to be there as a part of that judgment and help judge the angels and assign their degree of punishment. You and I as believers are going to be a part of that.
And so they fear and tremble that day of judgment when they’re going to give an account for what they have done as fallen angels, just like believers will have to give an account one day. But it’s not talking about salvation at all. need a passage. Angels that are fallen can’t become saved. It’s talking about they believe that there’s a judgment coming and they fear and tremble as a result. And just as believers, we ought to have a little bit of fear about that judgment that maybe we would suffer the loss of reward and be embarrassed when we stand before the Lord because we haven’t lived for Him.
Yeah, and then I’m worried about them thinking that about the tongues is being struck with the Holy Spirit. I grew up for quite a while with that. I told them I said be careful with that because people are going to believe that they’re not good enough to have the tongue. For a long time I knew that I was a Christian, but I thought I guess I’m not a good enough Christian to have the Holy Spirit. And I tried to explain to them about what you said about when we’re saved that we automatically have the Holy Spirit.
Absolutely. If you choose 113 says that it should really be the 10th, it’s not clear in the King James, it’s just having believed you were sealed. So we’re sealed at the moment of belief when we trust Christ as our Savior with the Holy Spirit. But it sounds like if they do the times they probably believe they can lose their salvation, which means they’re still trusting in their works. You’re really going to have to go back and point out that nothing in our future will undo our salvation.
You need to ask the question, can you lose it? They haven’t spoken tongues. I said, well, I just want you to be careful that you don’t let your children or their friends think, you know, that just because those people do and they don’t and I told them about what you told us about Peter and the tongues. That was so, back then, they could go and tell the world and that the Bible here now. That’s right, it was too evangelized.
Bernie, we have to go. It’s break time, but thank you for calling. Okay, I want to order those tapes. Great, all right, talk to my operators and I’m going to take you off the line here. We have some that have been so patient and been waiting here for quite a long time. The phone number is 1-800-576-3771 and we’re going to Tim in Tampa and Tim, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Hey, Dylan, Pastor. Good. You already asked my all-fair question about me and my girlfriend, the rewofo different churches. Yeah. We both believe we’re going to use Christ, we both say in everything. right now i’m looking for both looking for a church to be no the system to be thinking about marriage and we want to find a church that’s suitable for us first that we went last with a sunday talk about a woman in the pulpit and i’d try to planter wide and appreciate that because of the bible i know it’s a that will not preaching the pulpit or pre-tour party over men she doesn’t believe in that
my question is one of the scriptures that show her Well, the first Timothy chapter 2 is the classic passage where it says I’ll read it to you. I’ll turn it over there right now. First Timothy, are you familiar with that one? First Timothy? Yeah, chapter 2. I’m turning there right now. I’m almost there. First Timothy, chapter 2, makes it pretty plain. It says in verse 11, let the women learn in silence with all all subjection and then it says I suffer or allow not a woman to teach nor to usurp authority over the man but to be in silence it says.
So women are not to be preaching and then it gives the two reasons why verse 13 for Adam was first formed and then Eve. So God in the order of creation placed man first. If Eve was created first then she would be the preacher. God has established men as being the one who would be first in the chain of command and therefore he is the one who has a spiritual responsibility. Secondly, it says that Adam was not deceived but the woman was deceived.
So because men and women think differently and women think more emotionally, they are more easily deceived in spiritual matters and you see that through the Bible and that’s why I think Satan knew that and he approached Eve when she was alone apart from her husband and seduced her into taking of that fruit. So, but 1 Corinthians 14, if you want another one, it’s as powerful. 1 Corinthians 14, it says in verse 34, it says, let your women keep silence in the churches, for it is not permitted unto them to speak.
So that pretty much settles it too, I think. The next screen is 1434. So it’s an interesting thing that people just want to disobey the scripture or do whatever they want. I don’t believe that women are to be preachers. Okay. And my next, well, one of the questions I asked this question before I heard off the air though. Right now. I’m a Baptist. She’s a… and I know they have differences. And I know Ted Echossel believed in, they can lose their salvation.
I had a teacher that she couldn’t. But what else was more different do we have? Well, there are many differences, of course, on the gifts of the Holy Spirit. They believe in the spectacular gifts. They’re still here, which I believe have ceased, I believe, or temporary in nature. And basically they have a lot of misteaching, therefore concerning the Holy Spirit. A lot of Pentecostals believe that you receive the Holy Spirit as a subsequent experience to salvation. In other words, you get saved supposedly.
And then later you pray through or pray for the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit comes and that is a secondary experience and that’s certainly not true. Every believer receives the Holy Spirit at the moment you believe. Christ is in John 739 that he spoke in the passage about living waters flowing out of our belly that he’s taken the Holy Spirit which would be given to those that believe. So when you believe you receive the Holy Spirit and Ephesians 113 that we quoted in the first half of the program says having believed you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.
So every believer receives the Holy Spirit at the moment you believe. But mainly the Pentecostal Church generally believes in works for salvation. Although they might say they believe in grace, they teach you to lose it, which means that something in your future that you do or do not do will determine whether you make heaven. That makes you the Savior, not Christ. And ultimately how you behave or how you live your Christian life will determine whether you’re saving up. That’s clearly works.
And the Bible says salvation has nothing to do with our works. It has to do with the finished work of Christ. I call this the grace test. The grace means unmerited favor. It means mercy. But it actually is defined in the Bible in Romans 11.6 as the absence of any work or human contribution. So I tell people If you want to know whether you are hearing a message that is of God or not, you need to close your eyes and just ask yourself, am I being tugged to do something or not do something in my future that will determine my eternal life?
If you are, then that is a false message because then it is not of grace. The true message always points us back to the cross where Jesus said it is finished. So we don’t look forward to something in our future that will determine our salvation. The true message takes us back to the cross where Jesus said it’s finished and whosoever believeth on me should not perish but have everlasting life. So eternal life is God’s wonderful gift and is received forever.
But there are other differences usually in prophetic things and other things there are differences as well. So I hope you both can get on the same page Tim. Thank you, Pastor. You’re very welcome. That was Tim in Tampa, Florida. We have Laura in Lutz, Florida, and Laura, welcome to Bibleline Euro the year. Yes, I’m here. Well, hi, and welcome to Bibleline. Hi, there. Do you have a question for us? Yes, I do. It’s kind of what he’s talking about right now about the losing your salvation.
Yes. And my question is about the parables, and my phone is about to go get, so I’m going to try to do it real quick, about the parables when Jesus is talking about when the seed is sewn on different kinds of grounds, and that some receive it with joy, and some, you know, it falls on hard ground and the birds take it up, and then only a few are actually taking the word and it’s on good soil. So it would seem to me that the people who heard it in the beginning where they were joyous about it but then life situations or whatever happened and then they lost it.
It seems that that either it means that they lost their salvation or maybe they thought they had it and they never did. And that’s my question is if you can’t ever lose it and but yet when you supposedly put on Christ, you die to self, but there are so many Christians out there who they say they’re Christians but you would never know it by their behavior and God said that’s how Jesus said that’s how you can tell who is a believer is by the fruits of the spirit that they hold with gentleness and kindness and forgiveness and things like that that is very rare sometimes to see.
I’m great. What are your thoughts on that? Okay. Laura, really, the first group in that, the seeds on by the wayside of those that don’t get saved at all, they hear the word, but it says they don’t understand it. And therefore the devil comes along, takes away whatever they’ve heard, and they don’t get saved at all. The next groups are those that do get saved, but the first two are unfruitful because of the things of this life that choke out the word in their life and they don’t really grow and develop and bear fruit.
The last group is divided into three where you have a thirty-fold Christian, sixty-fold Christian and a hundred-fold Christian, which is those who are seeds on good ground. In other words, they’re very receptive and hungry to hear the word and they grow and produce fruit. The fruit, I believe, is us reproducing ourselves. When Christ said you shall know them by their fruits, it’s not by the fruit of the Spirit, but it’s really by the converts that they make. I believe when he talks about in Matthew 7, you’ll know them by their fruits, it’s talking about the people that the false teachers reach.
Well, obviously, if you examine them, you will learn that the teacher who taught them is also wrong. For example, when Jehovah’s Witnesses come to my door, I don’t have to go to Brooklyn, New York to the head of the Watchtars and decided to find out the witnesses are wrong. All I have to do is examine their fruit when they come and knock on my door. When I ask him a couple of good questions, I realize that they are false.
And that’s what he’s saying there. He says a good tree produces good fruit, but a corrupt fruit produces a corrupt fruit. And he says you’ll know them by their fruit. So he’s talking about false teachers that would come along and you can examine their fruit. If you talk to somebody that I have led to Christ and you examine them you would find them solid and in their teaching and Their belief system and and you’d say well, they’re good fruit because they hopefully came off a good tree But I you I examine a cult members a different thing But you should never really go to the parables to get your doctor in law and that’s really why we have Confusion usually comes when people rely upon them Jesus said he spoke in parables not to reveal truth, but to conceal truth.
And that usually throws people off. They don’t realize that. And in Mark 10- It can feel truth from the people who aren’t going to believe, but to reveal it to the people who do. Right. That’s exactly right. And he says in Mark 4, for example, he said when he had spoken the parable to the multiple, did the multitude that went away. In verse 10 of Mark 4, it says, when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve, asked him about the parable.
He said unto you, that is these that were believers, it is given to you that know the mystery of the kingdom of God, but unto them that are without that is the unsaved. All these things are done in parables that seeing they may see and not perceive and hearing they may hear and not understand lest at any time they should be converted and their sins should be forgiven So the Bible is written in such a way as to conceal truth from those that in their own pride are, they think that they’re wise and prudent, but God will reveal it to a child who is seeking the truth.
So, but parables are dangerous in a sense that unless you are careful, you might come up with any kind of meaning because you can usually work them around and will say whatever you want them to say. And most churches that don’t have sound doctrine do a lot of preaching from the parables because they can then make them say whatever they want them to say. And that’s why Christ warns us that they were never given to reveal truth. They were given to conceal truth.
So you have to interpret your parable in the light of other clear doctrinal passages. I always tell people the best rule of interpretation that I ever learned, which is the so-called study of hermeneutics, which is a Greek word that means how to interpret the Bible. You always interpret a difficult verse in the light of a clear one. the other way around. But a lot of people take a difficult verse or like a parable and they’ll come up with an interpretation.
Even though it contradicts other clear passages, they will try to force that interpretation upon the whole Bible. But if the Bible isn’t an agreement, then you’ve got a wrong interpretation because certainly God is the author. And if you have the right interpretation of a difficult passage, you’ll be in complete harmony with all the rest of scripture. But it certainly is not teaching in these parables that you can lose your salvation. It does teach that a person can be a believer and like seeds on the stonigrown or among the thorns can be choked out by those things and not produce any fruit but they are still saved even if you don’t have any fruit.
But then ideally it talks about us hopefully to becoming Christians who are sucking in God’s Word and nutrients that we need to grow and being foot-bearing Christians. Now the one thing that he did say in the end, I’m not sure where it is, I don’t have my Bible with me, I’m driving. Um He was talking about the if you ever have Christ and you believe in Him and then at some point you don’t believe in Him after you’ve tasted the gifts or I don’t remember the exact terminology.
You told him that He was six there. He tasted the gifts that God has given you and then you turn from Him that He will never take you back and I was thinking well that must be for people who had once believed and then turned from Him and no longer do. do and you would think that they could lose their salvation by deciding not to believe anymore or not to follow Christ. Well, that’s not even true. And that passage, by the way, is not talking about loss of salvation, but it’s talking about getting away from the Lord and losing out on rewards.
But it’s basically telling the believer there that you can’t go back and become saved again because once you’re saved, you’re saved forever. That’s Hebrews chapter 6. So it’s impossible for you to go back and go through the change of mind, the repentance it occurs when you trust Christ as683 Savior. But let me give you even a better verse. 2 Timothy talks about a person that says even if we believe not, yet God abides faithful, he cannot deny himself. So even if you stop believing, you’re still saved.
Once you get saved, God can’t deny the promise that he made. You see salvation occurs at an instant of time when you trust Christ. You’re born again. There is no provision in the Bible for you to become unborn once you are born. Even when you are born physically, you can’t become unborn. Now I was born many years ago now, but I can’t ever become unborn. And you can’t become unborn spiritually either. When you trust Christ, you are born again only once.
And that’s forever. You become a member of the family of God. And that’s forever. Now you can be a delinquent child and suffer loss of reward and incur God’s discipline upon your life or you can be an obedient child and have God’s blessing upon your life and rewards and so on that will come here in this life and in eternity. But you’re a child of God forever once you trust Christ. I hope that helps a little bit and we’ll go out more with you but keep listening to the Bible on.
Well thank you so much. And thank you for calling Thank you. Bye bye. That was Laura in Luke’s Florida and we have Skip now in Largo, Florida and Skip, welcome to my one. You’re on the air. Hi Dr. Hank, thanks for taking my call. I’m interested in about the people that called about saying believing in Neurices if we confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in our heart. They go in this raisin from the dead we shall be heart man believes unto the righteousness and with the mouth confession is made up to salvation.
The problem is that the New Testament is not written in English. It was written in Greek and the Greek word means the center of your thought processes. So if we were in 1611 when the translation was made, if we had been a little bit more advanced in our science, we would have translated that brain. But it means your mind or the center of your thought processes. So it doesn’t really mean the heart. Because of those expressions back in those days, as I said a moment ago, we sometimes say I love you with all my heart.
But you don’t love anybody with your heart. But it doesn’t sound very romantic if you tell your wife or your girlfriend I love you with all my brain. It just doesn’t get it. We’re so used to the others what I’m saying. But the Greek word really means your mind. And I think we pretty much understand that today. I think we have gotten over the heart thing. It’s just a pumping organ, and it’s a muscle that moves the blood through your body.
But we actually believe with our mind. Figuratively speaking. So it’s not, it’s someone who says, oh, I believe with all my heart. But they know that it’s. That’s exactly right. And some people make sense of what you make to do about it. This causes confusion. Actually what a lot of people are trying to clarify there it, you can accept the, you know, you can believe in George Washington and believe in Christ and neither one will save you if you just are talking about ascending to the historical facts about both of those men.
But when you trust Christ, which is a different ball game, then you become saved. Trusting George Washington won’t, you know, have it, but trusting Christ will. And when you trust that he died for you, then God saves you. that is different than ascending to the fact mentally to the facts, you have to personally put your trust or reliance upon Christ as the only means of your reaching heaven when you do that. God saves you.
Thank you very much. You’re so welcome. The way I like to say it is that Christ died. That’s a history fact. But Christ died for me. That’s salvation. So when I personally trust Christ, God will save you. Again, I want to throw out that offer today. We have 15 months of Sunday sermons on CD available for a gift of $250 to Bibleline.
