And then 45 days out from the departure date of March 12th we’d need the other half. We’re going to the Bible and then we’ll take our questions today on air and off air. We are going to turn to Romans 10 and it says in verse 1, Brethren, My heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they might be saved.
For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness and going about to establish their own righteousness have not submitted themselves under the righteousness of God. Paul is telling us that he desires for the Jewish people. Paul was a Jew and he desires for them to come to know the Lord as their Savior. And so he says, brother, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they might be saved.
And he… He says, I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness and going about to establish their own righteousness have not submitted themselves under the righteousness of God. In other words, this is the same mistake most people make. That is, they’re trying to work their way to heaven. They’re trying to establish their own righteousness and therefore have not submitted themselves under their own righteousness. submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God, which is the requirement for salvation.
And then it says in verse 4 that Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeeth. When you believe the gospel message that Christ died and was buried in Rosigan from the dead, God saves you. And so the Jew is in the same boat with the Gentile. We’re all lost, all without salvation, until we come to Christ as our Savior. in this chapter in Romans 10 it says in verse 12, for there is no difference, no difference between the Jew and the Gentile for the same Lord overall is rich unto all them that call upon him.
So we find that both Jew and Gentile are lost and that the same Lord is rich unto all that will call upon him. So when you call upon the name of the Lord, God will save you. His name of course is Yeshua from the Hebrew in the English, it’s Jesus the exact equivalent. And so Yeshua is a contraction of two Hebrew words, God’s personal name which is YHWH. And in a second Hebrew word that is Yasha which means Solation.
And so Yahweh and Yasha the contraction is Yeshua. occurs over 130 times in the Old Testament. The English equivalent is Jesus. And so really you could substitute in the Old Testament the word Jesus over 130 times for the word Yeshua. And Jesus is Yeshua. He is God who would save you. And that is who Christ is. And when you trust in Him, the Bible says, who whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved and his name is Jesus or his name is Yeshua.
If you don’t trust Christ, you will one day worship him, but it will be too late because everybody in hell believes on Christ, but it’s too late. In the book of Philippians, it tells us that the name of Jesus has been exalted above every name. In other words, there is no name higher in authority than the name of Jesus. He is God. And it says here in verse 10 of Philippians chapter 2 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow of things in heaven and things in the earth and things under the earth.
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is the Lord, which means he is God, to the glory of God the Father. In other words, If you don’t trust Christ now, you will believe on Christ later, but it will be forever too late. I remember telling one young man when he told me he didn’t want to hear a thing about Jesus Christ. He said, just leave me alone, get away from me. I said, okay, but don’t stop breathing because the moment you stop breathing, you’ll be a believer.
And I said, see it. And as I walked away, he asked me to come back. He said, wait a minute. Wait a minute. Come back and explain what you’re saying. And I said, well, when you die, you’ll believe in Jesus Christ. in heaven. You’ll believe in hell. You’ll believe in Christ, but it will be too late. The Bible says that you will bow your knee and you’ll confess with your lips that Jesus Christ is God. He is Yahweh and He is the Savior and it will be forever too late.
All those in hell will bow their knee and confess that Christ is the Lord and that is a fact. So when do you want to believe on Christ on this side of death and go to heaven or do you want to believe on Christ after you die and then it’s too late. But everybody one day will believe in Jesus as the Savior, as the God of the universe, as the one who came and went to Calvary and died and shed his blood so that we can be saved.
And it’s a matter of time and you will be a believer, but you don’t want to wait until after you have died. Once you have died, then it’s sealed forever. You’ll be forever lost. You’ll be cast into the everlasting lake of fire where the Bible says you’ll be tormented day and night. For ever and ever. I didn’t write the Bible. I didn’t make the rules, but the Bible certainly teaches that there is an eternal hell, a place of flame and torment, where the Bible says in Revelation 20 verse 10 that Satan will be cast in and will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Wow, you know Satan’s not the ruler of hell. He’s the worst punished in hell. There are degrees of punishment in hell based upon our deeds and Satan will be the worst. punished in hell. If you are an unbeliever, you will go to hell, but you will be assigned a degree of punishment in hell based upon your deeds, your works. Believers, on the other hand, who trust Christ, are delivered from hell and will be assigned a degree of reward in heaven based upon their works or based upon their deeds.
As a believer, we have a mighty incentive to live for Christ. You know the Bible offers reward or incentive for doing the right thing as a believer. Christ said lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven. We do that every time we do something for God as a believer. We have our time, we have our talents, we have our treasures, I call them the three P’s and we can give of our time we can give up our time so give up our treasures to the Lord and guess what they’ll all be rewarded in heaven you’ll be compensated for whatever you do for the Lord and the Lord says he does this because he says where your treasure is there your heart will be also.
So if your treasures are in heaven then your mind will be heavenly minded and if your treasures on the earth, then your mind will be earthly minded. Is your mind focused on heaven? Are you thinking about the things with your eternal? Are you doing anything for Christ here on this earth, for heaven’s sake? Well, obviously, if you’re not, you could come out as a believer, suffering the loss of reward. By the way, 2 John has a very interesting verse and it tells us here that we are to look to ourselves that we lose not those things which we have wrought but that we receive a full reward.
And then it talks about Christ being the Savior and that without trusting Christ you don’t even have God. You will not go to heaven. be lost, but then it warns about those who teach differently that if we condone them, if we support them, if we endorse them, then God says in verse 11, he that beneath him God’s speed is a partaker of his evil deeds. Think about this, if you’re giving to a false church, if you’re giving to a ministry that has a false message, that could be a negative.
The Bible here talks about losing reward because you will be a partaker of their evil deeds. So rewards can be positive and negative here as far as your deeds are concerned. If you are living for Christ and doing the things in accordance with God’s Word, the Bible says you are a workman that need not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But here in 2nd John, if you support a ministry and give to a church that has a false doctor Then you’re a partaker of their evil deeds and verse 8 of 2nd John says that you can lose reward.
That’s right. It says look to yourselves that we lose not those things which we have wrought or worked for, but that we receive a full reward. So I believe there can be a negative factor. If you are not careful, you might say, well, I’m giving to the Lord, but if you’re giving to a ministry that is a false ministry or is a false message, And that’s a negative. You need to be very careful what you do while you’re here in this life because that’s why we need the Bible to guide us.
And if we are not doing it in accordance with God’s Word as 2 Timothy 2, 15 says, studied to show thyself approved unto God as a workman. God wants us to be working for him and he wants us to be workman that do not have to be ashamed when we stand before the judgment of christ when he hands up the rewards because some apparently will lose out on rewards maybe they thought they had earned and will not have because they obviously were not careful uh…
where they gave their time and their talents I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. This is Bibleline and it’s exciting to be able to be with you today. We’re going to go to the phone lines and that number is 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-5771. And we’re going to go to John in Tampa, Florida and John. Welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. I hear you’re coming back. I hear you’re coming back. John, you have a question for us. Yes, Pastor, I was listening this morning to a TV show that there’s a pastor that speaks, and he was…
he was just so adamant about um… the rapture if you read the greek properly that there is no rapture first that’s one of four seventeen i think that there is absolutely no rapture out we have to really read the greek and if you could just you know in your own one well absolutely uh… and obviously uh… Some of those that say that there is no rapture may not be raptured. Sometimes bad doctor and breathe bad doctor, and maybe he’ll be left behind.
But in any case, 1 Thessalonians 4, 17, says, we which are alive and remain shall be caught up. The word caught up is exactly the definition of the word rapture. In the Latin translation, the Latin word rapturo is used to defined caught up and so the English word rapture comes from that butHughes word rapture is not uint your Bible but the concept is certainly there. It says that we which are alive and remainourning shall be caught up.You can substitute the word rapture there for that.If you look up rapture in your dictionary it means to be caught up.That’s exactly what it means. So I’m glad that the English word rapture is not there because then you have to go to the dictionary and look it up because most people don’t know what that word rapture means, but here it’s very clear that we’re going to be caught up to meet the
Lord in the air and obviously that’s a very, very plain, simple explanation was going to happen. When Christ comes back it says He’ll bring with Him verse 14 of 1 Thessalonians 4, the souls of those that have already gone to be with Him that have died and He brings their souls back and their new bodies will rise up from the earth and meet their souls and soul and body they will be reunited at the event of the rapture. Then it says in verse 17 that we which are alive and remain and that means if we just stay alive a little bit longer maybe because I think we are close we could be in this event which would mean that you would never die.
Isn’t that exciting? There is going to be a group of people that will be exempted from death that will never die, they’ll be caught up to meet the Lord in the air. And this is what this verse is talking about, and it’s clear that we’re going to be caught up or snatched out to meet the Lord in the air, and that is clearly the Rapture. Those who don’t believe in the Rapture oftentimes have other doctrinal problems as well. And it seems like when your foundation is laid correctly from God’s word in doctrine, that everything builds on that very nicely and it all comes out very nice and clean.
And the Bible makes sense. But if you don’t have your doctrines right, then it seems like bad doctrine breeds bad doctrine and you don’t get a whole lot right at all. I hope that helps John, and thank you for your call. We have Peter and Peter is calling in from Tampa, Florida and Peter, welcome to the Bible and you’re on the earth. Hey Dr. Hank, thanks for taking my call. I wanted to thank you first for enlightening me on CS Lewis on Friday.
I’ve been directed to his writings by several well-meaning Christians but I was personally unaware of all the things that he believed in so I thank you for that. And the question I had was what is your point? point of view? Absolutely. The Bible tells us that God did predestinate before the foundations of the earth that He would save all those that would believe on Christ but He didn’t make your decision for you. As the old Moody said it and I believe he said it as simply as anybody will ever say it He said the whosoever wills are the elect and the whosoever Wants are the non-elect so God definitely chose To save all that would believe and not to save those that would not believe and you really see it Kind of veiled in all the wonderful verses in the Bible for God so love the world
John 3 16 That he gave his only begotten son Here’s what he chose to do. That whosoever believeth in Christ should not perish but have everlasting life. He determined that long before that verse was spoken. That was God’s plan. The Bible tells us in 1 Peter 1 before the foundation of the world. And he chose, and the negative is also there, that if you don’t believe, you will perish and you’ll not have eternal life. So the choice is yours, but God determined if you believe on Christ, he will be.
save you but if you don’t trust Christ you will not be saved. And there’s no verse to come. Thank you Dr. Hank, appreciate it. Well thank you Peter and thank you for calling him. This is Bible Adam, Dr. Englund’s from when we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida. If you are a listener and you would like to partner with us we could use your help at this time. We need your prayers and we need your financial support. You know we don’t have a piggy bank, we don’t have a reserve account.
We don’t have pledges, we don’t have subscribers, we just are trusting God and we trust that He will supply. He does through people just like you who are listening and if you have not given the Bible on, this would be a time that you could really help us here as we close out this year. We need your help at this time and if you could send a gift you could do it by mail or you could do that my credit card over the phone.
I hate to talk about money because I think so many people have really tried to get your money and we’re really not trying to get your money. We don’t pay any salaries here at my mine. I don’t get a salary nor does our staff. We volunteer ourselves for this program because we feel there’s an urgency and it needs to get done. But we do have a lot of bills as we are on a lot of radio stations and we have to pay internet cost to get our programs out on the internet.
Also to get our program up on the satellite, satellite time and satellite cost and phone bills and so on. In any case, if you could help us, that would be great. You could give a gift by credit card over the phone. You could also go on our online bookstore at BibleLineMinistries.org and you could also give a gift there on our secure website. But Bibleline can use your help and we certainly want you to pray for us. And if you pray for us, we don’t count answers prayer.
But if you could also be a financial partner by giving the Bible and it would be great. I love the verse in Philippians where Paul talked to the Philippian believers. He says, not that I desire a gift. Paul said, I’m not trying to get your money, but I desire a fruit that may abound your account. This program, whatever fruit comes from this program, we believe will accrue to your account account as you give to Bible and I think that’s an exciting concept and that burst forever changed my mind about giving.
I want to give where I’m going to get fruit bounding to my account in heaven and that comes as you invest in a good ministry. We are going to go to Roger in Mobile, Alabama. Roger, welcome to Bibleline I’ve been kind of contemplating in light of these elections When I was saved about 35, 40 years ago, I was saved by a little fundamentalist preacher up in, Baptist preacher up in Michigan. He not only led, and there was a lot of emphasis in the Baptist church on winning souls to Christ, passing out tracks.
This is the way he discipled me. And I see the Baptist church kind of falling away from that. And I’m wondering just how getting into politics might be hindering the gospel. So I heard a fellow get on TV the other day and say that he had a difficult time. It was a fellow from India. And he said he had a difficult time ministering to the Muslims because the political system in the United States, the Republican Party, put a face on Christ that might not be, might be the best things.
I’ve noticed with your ministry your very Christ-centered it reminds me of a good old fashioned Baptist religion that I was used to in times past. Thank you. Well you’re very welcome and thank you. You know it’s exciting. This is a great time to evangelize. The problems in the world cause people to really ask questions and what about my future and what about God and how does all this play together and this is a wonderful opportunity. I just had a…
A friend I led to Christ call me this morning. He just got back from Ecuador. He says, you’ve got grandchildren in Ecuador now. As he said, we let a lot of people to Christ. And so since he is my son and the Lord, those that he led to Christ in Ecuador this past week, he said are your grandchildren. So that’s exciting. In the concept of a believer, leading people to Christ, those become your children. And then those that they lead to Christ become your grandchildren.
And so he says, you’ve got grandchildren in Ecuador. What a sweet, sweet man. to share with me this morning. And obviously as believers we can all have spiritual children as we tell them the wonderful message of the gospel and how do we say, Roger, thank you for calling in from Mobile, Alabama. And we appreciate all of our listeners wherever you might be listening to this program from. And again, we hope that you will pray for us and if you can give a gift to Bible It would be greatly appreciated.
You can also order resources through Bible. We have some great stuff. I have a new track that I’ve written that’s very powerful called, Am I Going to Heaven? But a second, Am I Going to Heaven track with a new series of questions and answers that really I think helps clarify Christians even as to the terminology that they use in the wooden scene for Christ. Christ. So you might want to call and maybe have a sample sent to you of that track and you might make a decision to get some of those or the other tracks that we have.
God bless you and thank you for tuning in. We’re going to go to break down. We’ll come back into part two of Bible and so don’t go away. Stay tuned right here. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. Englund Schrupp and this is my blog. Great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning in to the broadcast. And we appreciate all of you who are listening from wherever you might be listening to.
And we want you to know we’re webcasting now our Sunday worship service. And you can go to the website and view the Sunday morning message delivered here at Calvary Community Church that I deliver each Sunday. And that’s a new feature, and I hope that’ll be a blessing to you. You can catch it live on Sunday morning, but then you can go back in the archive and and watch and listen to the message as it is given here on Sunday morning.
These are all new things that we’re trying to bring to you, and everything we do seems to cost money. I hate to talk about money. I really do. But we could use your help. If you would pray for us, we would be ever so grateful. And if you could give a gift to Bible, and no matter how small that gift is, it adds up and helps us. And we could use your help as we try to clear out this year as we go into the new year coming up soon.
And we hope that you will. And maybe you might want to give a special gift of thanksgiving as we approach thanksgiving coming up in a week and give a gift to Bible to help us through this tight time. You can do that by credit card over the phone or you can do it by mail and sending a gift to Bible and you can also do it on our secure website at Bible.ministries.org. I wouldn’t mention money if I didn’t have to if I had it all I’d pay for it myself and never tell you.
I think it’s God’s plan for you to get in on the blessing by investing in a ministry that bears fruit, that fruit would abound to your account according to Philippians 4.17. That fruit will abound to your account from the ministry that you invest in as you give. That’s an exciting concept. It forever changed my concept about giving when I learned that as I invest wisely in a ministry that is producing fruit, that that fruit of that ministry that I’m investing in will accrue to my account in heaven.
I wish I could have been living in the days of the Apostle Paul and supported his ministry and have the fruit that he bore, counting on my tab of in heaven. Wouldn’t that be great? In any case, God bless all of you. Thank you so much in advance for listening and for giving the Bible and for being there for us and praying for us. We know that you’re there and God bless you. That’s how we’re able to stay on the air.
of the heroes. // We’re going to rejoin the stations that have been on break due to the second half of Bibleline. If your station doesn’t carry it, you can go to the Internet and catch the full program. But hold on to your hats. We’re ready to link up now with the other stations that have been on break. And here we go Bibleline 2. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771.
That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back from that break and we have lots of off here, lots of colors. We’re going to go to Warrica, Oklahoma and we have Jimmy on the line in Oklahoma. Welcome to Bibleline. Good morning Dr. Neschow. Good morning. I’m a daily listener by the satellite. Wonderful. The question I have for you today is can you tell me what’s the difference between the What’s the difference in the Gospel of the Kingdom of his preach before Jesus died and the Gospel of Paul that we find in 1 Corinthians 15124?
Well very good. You know, there are four gospels mentioned in the Bible. There’s the Gospel of the Kingdom, the Kingdom of Heaven message, which was a message about an earthly kingdom which was the promise that God had given to Israel had they received Jesus as their king, then the kingdom would have been established a thousand year earthly reign that will still take place when Christ comes back the second time. A large remnant of Jewish people will come to know Christ as Savior during the fibrillation period after the rapture and that kingdom will be established and there will be peace on earth.
Good will toward men. a beautiful future is ahead, but until Christ returns there is not going to be any peace on this earth. But the gospel of the grace of God that Paul preached, which is also mentioned there in Acts 20 where he said that God had sent him to preach the gospel of the grace of Jesus, that’s a message that has always been around. who has ever been saved has been saved by grace, Adam and Eve and Abel and all the way through the Old Testament, the heroes of the Bible and those that were saved, were saved by believing in the future coming of Christ, the Diet Calvary’s Cross.
And Peter tells us that in Acts chapter 10 verse 43, he says to Jesus or to Yeshua, give all the the Prophet’s Witness. That’s the writers of the Old Testament. He says that through his name, the name of Jesus or Yeshua, whosoever believe within him, that is Jesus or Yeshua, shall receive the remission of their sins. So we find that everybody who’s ever been saved has been saved, as Peter tells us, by simply believing or trusting in the name of Yeshua or Jesus, God who took on flesh.
There’s also the everlasting gospel in the book of Revelation which is the final announcement before Christ returns at the Second Coming that He’s going to take over the earth and bring peace and He’s going to condemn all those that had not yet trusted Christ. It will be the final signal that Christ is now coming and it’s too late for those that are lost and it’s a wonderful time for the future. But it also mentions a false gospel which is the perversion of the true gospel of Christ.
the gospel that Jesus taught before he died and took away the sins of the world with that maybe not apply to us that came in after he died? Well the gospel of the kingdom was offered up until Christ was rejected and that message of the gospel of the kingdom will not be preached again until after the rapture. It says in Matthew 24, 14, that this gospel of the kingdom of heaven shall be preached and all the world for a witness and then the end of the tribulation will come and Christ will come back.
But right, all the way throughout his ministry that Christ always invited people to be saved with Nicodemus. You see how he said, and Christ is quoted there, for God so loved the world as he told Nicodemus the story that he said that Nicodemus that he gave is only begotten son, that whosoever Nicodemus that would believe, if you would believe Nicodemus, you would not perish, but you would have everlasting life. the salvation has always been presented. Let me ask you one more quick question.
I have the, I bought it from your ministry, the School of Field Study Bible. Yes. I read that. An easy to read Bible. I’m sure it’s not as good, but the English standard version is your neat nose-pulled defects in that one? Absolutely there is. In fact, that’s the first of a string of translations. This came out of England off the critical text made by a committee of 15 men who made up their own text which is severely flawed. It has over 5,000 deletions.
And this particular translation, the English Standard Version, was an attempt to replace the King James. And it didn’t go anywhere. In ten years it died. And then an American group decided to take the same venture and they called the same Bible the American Standard Version. And then when the copyright ran out on that one, a man out of California of the Lockyear Foundation said that he would make the American Standard new and that became the new American Standard. But you can see the influence of one of the guys that was on that committee that made the man-made Greek critical text was the Unitarian, didn’t believe in the deity of Christ.
And you can see that in 1 Timothy 3 16 in all three versions where it says, where it says in the King James, let me quote it from the King James, it says, without controversy The great is the mystery of godliness that God was made known or manifested in the flesh, justified in the spirit and so on and so on. But in the three versions that I just mentioned that sprung from the English standard, the American standard, and then the New American standard, it says by our common confession, seemingly implying that the deity of Christ rests upon our vote, which it doesn’t.
And then it says that he was manifested in the flesh. absolutely meaningless because you’re manifest in the flesh Jimmy and I’m manifest in the flesh yeah but to say that God was manifest in the flesh is the real meaning there and they just take it away and you could Timothy that second this first Timothy 3 16 second Timothy 3 16 says all scriptures given my inspiration of God okay but that’s a wonderful verse and and and so many more I could quote, but it’s disturbing really because they keep bringing these back as though they’re something new and they’re not new, they’re old and this was the first on the chain of bad translations.
Great, that’s very helpful. Thank you Dr. Leshram. You’re very welcome Jimmy and thank you for calling in from Warrica, Oklahoma out there in the middle of the country. We have Alan from Richmond, Virginia and Alan, welcome to the Bible and you were on the earth. Hi, how are you doing? Good. I’m way back on the first call I believe you had. Yes, okay. You’re relating with the Christmas tree? Yeah. Yes. One of the things that I noticed in Jeremiah the second verse in chapter 10.
Yes. It clearly states that we’re not even supposed to learn the way of the Eden. Well, that’s a good. You’re absolutely right. That was the birthday of bail that they were celebrating, and we were supposed to indoctrinate our children in bail worship. The tree truly is taken, and I’m not really for the tree, but there are people who I don’t think will ever get rid of their tree. If they have to have a tree, I suggest they tell about the tree that Jesus was nailed to the tree of Calvary and there how he died so that the real gift of Christmas, which is offered all year long, the gift of eternal life might be received by all those that would trust Christ as Savior and God offers that gift to everyone and anyone that would simply trust Christ.
But you’re absolutely right and we shouldn’t be teaching paganism and bail worship. And the same thing happens in the spring. You know Easter is the name of the mother of bail and I don’t like that word at all. I try to get people to drop the E word and use the R word resurrection instead of the bales mother’s name, Easter. But I thought if we’re calling and sharing that with us today and that was great. So thank you for calling in Allen from Richmond, Virginia.
We have a number of off-air questions. We have John in Plant City calling in, and it says, Tyler told the Jews that his hands were clean in this matter, and the blood of sending Jesus to die was on their hands and also on their children’s. Well. Pilate, of course, was trying to wash his hands in the matter, but no doubt about it. He was guilty of making the decree. And Jesus pointed that out to Pilate when he was making that sentence.
If you go over to John’s Gospel, chapter 19, we have the conversation between Pilate and Christ. And we find here that Pilate said in the Christ, speakest thou not unto me? Knowest not that I have the power to crucify you and I have the power to release you. Jesus said thou couldest have no power at all against me except that were given me from above. Therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin. From that point on Pilate sought to release him but he could not have lived out What about it?
Was responsible as he represented the Gentiles and of course the religious leaders representing Israel took and obviously both were guilty of the crucifix of Christ and we all are because he died to pay for the sins of the world. We have Harold in Tampa, Florida calling in. Harold welcome to Bibleline. Hey sir, how you doing? It’s always a pleasure. Thank you. i was talking to the whole the witness today and and i’m reading from my bible and i just wasn’t getting across to her and john chapter one her bible was saying that the work agar and my bible said the word was god and so i’m sure that she was saying that she has to work he has to work in order to make it to happen and i’m sure on a several places where it said no work so i and i got a little a little flustrated because i’m showing other
bible and she just totally you know taking things and kind of turning around and I’ll hang up and listen to you. All right. Well the Joseph and Mrs. are good at that, Harold. What is interesting is that they add the article A. They’re in John 1-1 and make Jesus a God, saying he is a God and not the God. But you know if you do that, wherever you find God in John’s gospel, you have to add the article A or you’re not being fair here.
There is no grammatical reason why they should add the article A. So that would mean in John 3 16 for A God so loved the world and so on and so on. It doesn’t make any sense. But I let them do that. And since they teach that Jesus is a created being that He is A God and not the God, that proves without a doubt they are false witnesses. How do I know? Because Because in Isaiah 43-10, the very name that Jhos witnesses take for themselves, Jhos witnesses comes from this verse and it says, You are my witnesses, sayeth the Lord.
Of course, God here is talking about Israel, not the Jhos witnesses. And he goes on to say, My servant whom I have chosen that you may know and believe me and understand that I am He. Before me, God says here, There was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. So to say that Jesus Christ was a God formed after Yahweh or Jehovah makes them a false prophet because God says, before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
There would not be another God coming along and so therefore the Jehovah’s Witnesses are false witnesses. And of course they clearly teach works for salvation and it’s very difficult to get through. You just have to keep plugging away and let them know that they are false because they deny Jesus Christ. 1 John 2 23 says, Who’s Whoever Denyeth the Son? The same hath not the Father. The Father is Jehovah or Yahweh. Can you imagine Job’s Witnesses without Jehovah? That’s right.
They don’t have Jehovah. It says, Who’s Whoever Denyeth the Son and the Job’s Witnesses deny Christ? he is God himself and therefore they do not have the Father. So they are Jehovahless. So I call them the Jehovahless Jehovah’s Witnesses. They don’t have Jehovah, but a true believer in Christ does. We have Greg now in Pinellas County, Florida and Greg, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Good morning. Good morning. I’ll listen to you for a number of years now for some I have had a chance to call in.
Well good, that’s great. Could you explain to me one more time I’ve heard you do it before but I’m still troubled by Hebrews 1026 in terms of losing yourself. Sure. Hebrews 1026 says if we sin willfully after that we’ve received the knowledge of the truth. They’re the writer of Hebrews and that’s debatable as to who that is and we really don’t know for sure. He is obviously a believer, so he is talking about believers. And it says if we sin willfully after we receive the knowledge of the truth, I believe that refers to us being saved.
It says there remain no more sacrifice for sins. What it is really saying is that we don’t need another sacrifice. The one-time sacrifice of Christ saves us eternally. The same thought is up earlier where it tells us about in verse 14 how by one offering he perfects forever the believer. Verse 17 says there are sins and iniquities. I remember no more. Verse 18 says where remission of these is there is no more offering. Now here in verse 18 I have taken the phrase no more offering and I have circled it.
Then I went down to verse 26 and I circled the phrase no more sacrifice and I drew a line between the two. Because what it’s saying is, because Christ died once to pay for all of your sins, past, present, and future, that there is no more additional offering necessary because your sins are already forgiven, past, present, and future. Even verse 26 says, even if you willfully sin against the Lord, you don’t need another sacrifice. But then verse 27, 28, 29, all the way through here talks about how God will discipline or judge The delinquent believer.
So if you’re going to sin willfully, you’re asking for trouble. It says in verse 31, well verse 30 at the end it says, the Lord shall judge his people. That’s the believer. And verse 31 says, it’s a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. So God can bring about discipline in your life and the loss of reward in heaven. And he goes on in this chapter then to talk about how that we need to be patient and live for Christ and be true to Him so that we might earn rewards in Heaven.
Verse 35, cast not away, therefore, your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward. So rewards are in view here. In Psalms 36, you have need of patience that after you’ve done the will of God, you might receive the promise or the rewards that God has offered to the faithful servant of Christ. But even if you sin-wulfly, you don’t need to go back and be saved again, you don’t need another sacrifice Christ, one time sacrifice was sufficient to save you forever.
So the person? Absolutely. So if we sin willfully, we still don’t need another Savior. We’re safe forever. But verse 27, 28, it says that God though will judge you, not send you to hell. But God will obviously, like it says over in 1st Corinthians 1132 when we Christians are judged we are chastened or disciplined of the Lord that we should not be condemned with the world. So the world is going to be condemned but the believer when judged is chastened or disciplined by God.
So this is what is talking about here in this chapter. I thank you for going through that one more time for now. I read that I just kind of do a some yeah yeah some people get scared when they read it because they don’t know what it means and others use it to try to say that you are going to be lost, but it’s not saying that at all. It’s saying there is no need for another sacrifice. Just like in verse 18, once Christ has paid for all of your sins and you have received those sins, the remission of your sins through faith in Christ, where remission of these in-sverse 18 says there is no more offering for sin.
It’s stuck here to the Hebrew believers who were used to that yearly sacrifice at the temple. They were thinking in terms of needing another sacrifice. This book is written to say, no, you don’t need another sacrifice. The Old Testament sacrifices were often repeatedly, but they could never take away sin. Chapter 9 verse 12 says, neither by the blood of bulls and of goats, but by Christ by his own blood, he entered once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
Christ offered one sacrifice in contrast to the many sacrifices that they offered at the temple and those sacrifices wouldn’t take away sin but Christ took away all of our sin when we trust Him. Thank you for your time and thank you for your ministry. You’re very welcome. Thank you, Greg, and Pinellas County. We have Tony in Rome, New York, and Ron Tony. Thank you for, whoop, I just lost Tony. or maybe I hit the wrong button here. Tony in Rome, New York, welcome to Bible Ed.
Thank you. Good morning, Dr. Hank. Good to hear from you. Please explain the difference between Matthew 516 and Matthew 61. Alright, Matthew 516. I’m turning there right now. And… Are you listening? Is that up in the Albany New York area or where part of New York are you in? That’s the radio station that I listened to. Okay, yeah, okay. That’s what I thought. Well, wonderful. 512, rejoice and be exceeding… 516, Dr. 516, I’m sorry. Yes. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in Heaven.
and contrast that with what? Verse 1, take heed that you do not your alms before men, your righteous acts or deeds, to be seen of them. So the whole point is your attitude in doing these works. If you’re doing it to be seen in the sense that you’re going to receive the credit or the glory, then it says here that you lose your reward. You have no reward of your Father, which is in heaven. But we are to do our good deeds and sharing the gospel without regard to getting credit for that.
In other words, we do it because we love the Lord and because we love the lost and we’re not out there to say, look at what I’m doing that maybe others are not doing. I think it all has to do an attitude. It talks about later in chapter 6 about not your left hand, no one in your right hand is doing. It’s basically, I would be impossible I think. basically what it’s saying is that don’t do it for show do it because you really love the Lord okay and that’s the whole point there so I hope that helps I don’t know if there was an alms no I think it’d be probably the same on the alms there means really righteous deeds so good works and righteous deeds would be equivalent and I think the whole point is are you doing it for the benefit of the
Lord and because you love him or are you doing it so that you’re getting credit. Verse 4, chapter 6 says, let your alms be in secret that my father would see if in secret shall reward the openly. So, in other words, don’t do it for show and don’t brag or boast about what you’re doing. Do it to reach the lost and to please the Lord. Okay, great. Thanks a lot, Tony. And keep listening up there in New York, calling in from Rome, New York and Upper New York State where we’re on the air up there.
We have some off-air questions. We’ll try to get to some of those. If you have a question, you can actually, on the internet, leave your off-air question. Also, if you want to call in, even though you might be hearing by blind in a different time of day than when you’re live, when we’re live, you can go ahead and call in at any time and leave an offer question and we’ll try to get that answered the following day. John in Warner Robbins, Georgia calls in and says, I missed the first part of yesterday’s broadcast.
In John 637, do you believe Jesus speaking of election when he said, all that the Father has given me shall come to me? I believe what is talking about there is that the Father has chosen to save those that believe. And so all of those that believe are then given to Christ for His safe keeping. He says He would not cast them out for any reason. In verse 39, He said He would not lose even one of those. So Christ is the one who not only saves you but keeps you saved.
In John 10 we have the same thought in verse 28 where he says, neither shall any pluck them out of my hand. We’re held tightly in the hand of Christ and cannot be lost once we become saved in his forever. And yes, it is speaking of election and God has elected to save all that would believe and all that believe the Father gives those into the hands of Christ to hold tightly and keep secure. Christ tells us it is the Father’s will, verse 39, that He would not lose any of those that God had given to Him, but would keep them all saved and raise them all up again at the last day.
