Exciting times in which we are living here at Cezanne-Hosea chapter 3 verse 4, what a prophecy this is, the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king and without a prince and without a sacrifice and without an image and without an ephod and without did you know that when Christ came he was king of Israel but rejected.
And because of that the Bible here predicted that they would be many days without a king Israel has not had a king for two thousand years. Since Jesus was rejected they have no king. They have a Prime Minister, they have a President but they don’t have a king and they will have have no king until Jesus comes back again. It also says here in my Bible in Hosea chapter 3 and verse 4 that they would be without a prince.
That means an heir to the throne. For somebody who said upon the Jewish throne, they would have to be of the ancestry of King David. And obviously nobody today could prove that. The genealogical records were destroyed in Jerusalem in 8070 when the Romans conquered Israel. And so nobody could prove their lineage back to King David except for one that’s Jesus Christ. So his lineage is recorded for us in Matthew chapter 1 and in Luke chapter 3 and you will notice that Jesus Christ can trace his ancestry right back to King David.
So there is no prince except for Christ who is called in Isaiah 9 6, the prince of peace. And he is coming and will rule as king over Israel. The next one is so amazing to me. In Hosea chapter 3, if you’re just tuning in, Hosea chapter 3 verse 4, it says that the children of Israel would abide many days without a sacrifice. They had sacrifices right up until AD 71, the temple was destroyed by the Romans, but for 2000 years the Jewish people have not had a sacrifice.
That is really quite a remarkable prophecy because the Jews have always offered sacrifices. And even before the nation of Israel was founded, you see Abel bringing a lamb way back there in the earliest pages of Genesis. And it seemed like everywhere you look in the Old Testament, they offered sacrifices, and yet there have been none since the destruction of the temple in 8070. The Bible predicted that. Here it is in Hosea, chapter 3, the children of Israel for 2000 years have not had a king.
For 2000 years they have not had an heir to the throne of Israel. For 2000 years they have not had their blood sacrifices. Amazing isn’t it? Then it says here and without an image. That also is quite a remarkable prophecy because Israel was always guilty of imagery and making false gods. Remember when they came out of Egypt? You remember when Moses went up into Mount Sinai? The people got impatient and they told Aaron, hey, we don’t know what happened to this Moses, but how about make us a god?
And so they gave him their jewelry and everything else and he melted it down and made a golden calf and they worshiped that image. You know Israel has been guilty for ages of making idols and worshiping them and got very upset with it. But you know for the past 2000 years we haven’t had any images and that’s an amazing fulfillment of prophecy. And you’ll find if you go to a synagogue they don’t have images. There are no images. Wow, they’re very plain, very simple as far as no images at all.
Then it says here in chapter 3 verse 4 of Hosea they’d be without an Ephon. You know that’s the garment of the high priest and of the priesthood and it’s really saying here they wouldn’t have a priesthood. You know the Jewish people do they have rabbis which means teachers but they don’t have any priests rather any priests today because they’re gone. The priesthood has not existed for the past 2000 years. That’s an amazing fulfillment of prophecy. By the way, the Bible said this thousands of years ago.
Lastly, it tells us without care of him. Those are household gods. They don’t have that either. But look at verse 5 of Hosea chapter 3. Afterward, afterward, afterward it says, afterwards, shall the children of Israel return. And we believe they return as of 1948 became a nation again for the first time in 2000 years. It says they would seek the Lord their God and David their King and should fear the Lord and his goodness in the latter days My friend the Bible defines the latter days as when the Jewish people would return After this many-day period without a king without a prince without a sacrifice without a priesthood without images Without household gods.
It is amazing God looks into the future and calls it as it is for the past two thousand years, we have seen exactly this amazing prophecy fulfilled and involves a whole nation, the Jewish people. They would be without a king, without a prince, without a sacrifice, without images, without their priesthood, without household gods, and yet afterward they would return back to their land. And that would be the latter days. My My friend, we are living in the latter days.
These are the days that the prophets have spoken about. These are the days when Christ is coming. Israel missed the first coming. It says here in the Scripture that they missed this special time when the Messiah was to come. I want to read an interesting passage here in Luke’s Gospel. It talks about how that Jesus said that they weren’t paying attention. It says He was rejected as he came down the slopes of the Mount of Olives on Palm Sunday.
Verse 41 of Luke 19 says, when he was come near, he beheld the city and he wept. Here he had come the king, the Messiah, and they rejected him. He says in verse 42, saying, as he wept, if thou hast known, even thou, at least in this thy day, this was their day, the day of opportunity to receive their king and they turned him down and rejected him. It says here if thou hast known, even though at least in this thy day the things which belong unto thy peace, but now are they hid from their eyes.
They had opportunity to have peace, to have their king rule over and bring peace on earth good will toward men, but they missed it. You know, I think a lot of Christians today aren’t aware that we’re living in a similar time when Jesus is about ready to come back at the second time, and a lot of Christians aren’t aware of it. We need to be lifting up our heads. Our redemption draws nigh. And a lot of people are missing out on the excitement of living in the expectancy of the soon return of Jesus Christ.
He’s coming and He’s coming soon. And I hope every believer would really take advantage of this new year and be watching for the Lord to come back and be using their days wisely as time is running out. Time is running out. Christ is coming back. And once the Rapture happens, then your opportunity to do something significant for God is over. And you’ll suffer the loss of reward, which you could have had rewards for living your life for Christ if you don’t.
This is a great day as we begin the New Year to make plans to use your life effectively this coming year and get in the blessings and the joy and the rewards that come by living for Christ. I’m Dr. Angklyn Stroom. This is the Bible. I hope everybody is listening. It’s trusted Jesus as Savior. If you haven’t, you need to do that. We look forward to a great year. Hopefully we’ll see great things happen right up until the day Jesus comes and snatches us out.
Again, I’m Dr. Anglinson with phone number, here’s 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. Well, we’re going to go to the phone callers and also we’re going to take some offer questions. We have a number of those. We have a question here in David in St. Petersburg just called in. And we find here it says, can we reach the kingdom of heaven by doing away with money? And of course the answer is no. Let me see the verse here that you are referencing to see why you would think that.
It says, no man can serve two masters. He will either hate the one and love the other or else he will hold the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and Mammon or money. We aren’t saved by our deeds. We’re not saved by our works. Yet, it’s interesting that sometimes people think that we’re saved by what we do. When we serve the Lord, obviously money gets in the way sometimes because we need to have our focus on heaven.
Christ tells us here in this wonderful passage to be looking up and to lay treasures in heaven. And we hope that you are doing that because Christ said where your treasures are, that your heart will be also. In any case, we are not saved by our works and notice the key words in verse 24 here that you cited. You cannot serve God. If your focus is on this world and on worldly treasures and worldly riches and worldly fame, then obviously you’re not going to be a good servant of Christ.
We need to focus on heaven and things and focus on pleasing the Lord. And so David, I hope that helps and thank you for calling in with your question today. We have Derek in Florida, somewhere in Florida, I don’t know where, but Derek calls in and says, when I heard you explain why Jesus is crucified on Wednesday and then rose again from the grave on Saturday, it made sense. It is until I came across Mark 16. I am looking over there and it says here in my Bible that very early in the morning, the first day of the week, they came under the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.
They said among themselves, who shall roll away the stone from the door of the sepulchre? When they looked, the stone was rolled away and it says it was very great. And entering the sepulcher, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed with a long white garment. That’s an angel, by the way. And they were afraid. And he said unto them, be not afraid. Do you seek Jesus of Nazareth, which is crucified? He has risen. He’s not here.
I don’t get the point. Sunday night is precedes Sunday and Sunday began Saturday at sundown. Christ rose at sundown Saturday, 6 p.m. That was the beginning of the first day of the week. That was Sunday night. In the morning, very early as the sun rose, they came and found the tomb empty. Nobody saw Christ rise on Sunday morning. rose at the beginning of the day. That was Saturday at 6 p.m. when Sunday night begins. Never notice driving by a synagogue on Friday night at 6 p.m.
the Sabbath has begun and the Jewish people meet on the Sabbath as it begins. That’s Saturday night on Friday night. It’s a little mixed up sometimes if you’re not used to that. We count our days from midnight to midnight, the Jews count theirs from Sunday on the Sunday. They count their night first, just like it does in Genesis, and the evening and the morning were the first day, and the evening and the morning were the second day, and so on, and so on.
So the evening was first. Well, Derek called back or write or give us another offer a question, but it made sense until he came across Mark 16. Mark 16 doesn’t change anything. They came in the morning and there was the discovery of the empty tomb. They didn’t see the resurrection. We have another one calling in from Brampton, Ontario, Canada, Claude, says, after the flood, no three sons populated the world. Now, Africa and the rest of the black world is always ignored.
We’re not all the prophets black and all these rights. Well we don’t know that. It does tell us that Moses married a woman, apparently was black, but we don’t have anything that would tell us the skin color. Most of the people in the Middle East have a pretty good suntan, but I don’t think they were black. So I don’t know, give us another question here, maybe I can get some more clarification about what you’re looking for. We have Sam in Lakeland, Florida on the line and we’re going to go to Sam.
Sam, welcome to Bibleline Happy New Year. Oh, Happy New Year to you. You know, I enjoy your, I like to give a comment. I enjoy your program very much and I listen to you quite a bit. You know, I hear a lot of people talking about not celebrating Christmas on account. They don’t know that. Even the birthday are not on account in the Sunday clock or so like that. But at the same time, a hope to mind and spend the whole Christian faith believe is just believe, just believe.
There’s no proof on everything, no more what the words say, and that’s the proof we have. So, deal with bone and flesh, and man celebrate pictures and different ones when they do good things, and they recognize it, and they celebrate. So, like me, nowadays, like we should really celebrate Christmas, not the Mount of Santa Claus, because man got in there and put them for Santa Claus to use a name to make money. But at the same time Jesus came.
And everybody has vacation. I mean, they have to get paid, Christmas, and they’ll get paid for those days off. So that’s the blessing. So the thing is, like everybody should be really celebrating Christmas in the name of Jesus Christ, and they’re in order to tell people about why they’re so great. They’re still going to be on the count of Jesus. Now on the count of the Sunday clock, they’re going to count of Jesus. And everybody should be correct on his day, that people think about everybody in the open they do they sell.
And when people start to say they not want to celebrate children, they don’t have opportunities to tell as much that you have to use the body to use the pride. But if everybody is celebrating to use the pride, they call everybody how to cope people can go home in different ways. So everybody gets to celebrate more and they have to have more opportunities being in any time of the year to tell and witness to Jesus Christ. And that’s the coming I’d like to give.
like you sound like a preacher there Sam but absolutely I think celebrating Christmas is a wonderful opportunity not only to focus on Jesus and who he is but what he did for us at the cross and how we can be saved when we trust him as our Savior. The early Christians apparently didn’t celebrate the birthday of Christ but they did come together the first day of the week every week and celebrate his death. They would have the Lord’s Supper and they would be reminded of his broken body and his shed blood by taking him the elements in that very simple Supper that the Lord has given to us as believers.
And interesting that we today put more emphasis it seems like on the birth of Christ and on his death. But the important thing is to recognize that you can believe in the birth and celebrate the birth and still go to hell you must trust that Christ died and shed his blood was buried and rose again from the dead to be saved. You must trust Christ as your Savior. We have marked internet question from Tampa. Please explain Psalm 371. Who are the evil doers?
Are they people or demons? Well they’re people. It tells us who they are later on in that wonderful Psalms 37. It tells us here that they are people and they will be cut off. That means really they will be cut off from God’s presence. They will be cast into the everlasting lake of fire. And in here you have the terms righteous as versus the evil or wicked ones. And by the way, anybody, and I had to learn this as a new believer reading my Bible, The Bible tells us that anybody who is an unbeliever is considered in the Bible wicked because why their righteousness is far short of the righteousness of God and its wickedness.
So in other words, the righteous are the believers because they have a righteousness which is imparted to them or imputed to them that God sees them as righteous based upon the substitution of death of Christ. in Romans 3 and 10, there is no righteous, no not one. So nobody on the earth is righteous of ourselves, but believers are called righteous from the get-go. All the way back there in Genesis we find that Abel obtained witness, the Bible says in Hebrews 11-4, when he offered up his lamb the sacrifice[_ he offered, he obtained witnesses, God received that sacrifice, that he was already righteous, he was already a saved man.
We find that Tain, though, being unsaved was of that wicked one and was considered evil or wicked. So, anybody without price is an evil doer. Even though they might be very moral, they might do very wonderful things. It’s something that fools a lot of people because they look at the outward appearance. And yet the outward appearance doesn’t always tell us the true story. Christ speaks about the religious leaders in His time. And He tells us how outwardly they looked great.
They really did have a lot of people fooled because people were looking at the outside. But Jesus said about these people, He says, Warren do you scribes and Pharisees? This is Matthew 2327. hypocrites for you are like unto whiteed sepicurs. That was the gravestones that they would keep painted nice and white, which indeed appear beautiful outward but are within full of dead men’s bones and of all uncleanness. So it tells us here that you also appear outwardly righteous unto men, but inside they were wicked.
So here are religious leaders who appear righteous and yet they are considered by the Lord wicked because it is a… The fact that they don’t have God’s righteousness and man’s righteousness is wickedness. This is Bibleline. We’re coming up on the break time here and we’re glad that you’re listening and I hope you’re enjoying the program wherever you might meet. And again, thank you for tuning into Bibleline today and we’re going to do a second half in just a moment.
And of course, we hope that you’ll catch the second half and listen to the full program again. Thank you. All of you who have been a part of the Bible. have a wonderful, wonderful year. I am Dr. Englinser. We are going to go to break. In the meantime, don’t change that radio dial because we will come right back. We thank you again for tuning in today. Happy New Year. We are excited about the brand new year and what God is going to do.
We hope that you are excited as well and will be a partner with us and your prayers and your gifts to Bible and that will help us continue this mission. We’ll be right back after this short break. Don’t go away. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. Angelina Linser, it’s great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning in and being a part of our program and we hope that you’re telling your friends about the program and helping us expand it.
Again, thank you for being a listener, but we hope that you’ll put us on your prayer list and pray for us. We certainly need God’s help and we need your prayers on our behalf to pray for us each and every day. Put us on all this someplace where Bible and is prayed for me, pray for our staff, and pray that we’ll have a great year, this coming year, and I hope you’ll be a very real part of Bible and in this coming year.
And by the way, we are listeners supported. Not only do we need your prayers, but if you can help us financially, that would be great. Again, we don’t pay any salaries out, but we do have a lot of expenses because it costs a lot of money to be on the radio. And there’s a lot of other expenses that are related to it, including getting up on the satellite and the satellite charges and the phone bills. And every person that calls in on our 800 number, we pay the long distance bill on that.
And so when you’re waiting even online on the phone for it to get up on the air, that’s a long distance bill that ByBlind pays. So your gift to ByBlind would be very helpful and maybe you might consider to give to ByBlind in this coming year. And certainly your gifts would be greatly appreciated. Again, I’m Dr. Englund, Mr. Byblind, and we have our program on the internet as well as on regular broadcast, and we hope that you will take advantage of the internet site, Byblind Ministries, as a way to get the programs, TV, and radio.
Also the many other things that we have available there as well. Take a look at our online bookstore. We have a lot of resources a lot of things that will help you that you could take a look at pictures of it and you can look at the descriptions of the products and You can order right there on the internet and I hope you will you’ll do that and of course Just pray for us in this coming year that we might see great Things happen as we’ve had so many blessings over this past year that we trust that God will continue to allow those blessings occur in this coming year.
I’m Dr. Englundstrom and we’re about ready to go back and join the station’s about station break and do the second half of Bible on and we hope that you’ll be listening to the second half. And again, call somebody up and ask them to join you as we do the second half. So keep your radio down to right where it is. We’re going to take a short intermission here as we come back to do the second half. Stay tuned right And right where you are.
Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back from our break. And it’s great to be with you today on Bibleline. As we come to you live from our studios right here in Tampa, Florida. Here at the Calvary Community Church where I am the pastor, look forward to having you come by sometime and visit our resource center during the week, open every day till about 430.
Also, come by. a great worship service and visit with us. We had so many people come by from all over the country that visited us during the holidays and that was wonderful to meet those that listened to Bibleline or watch our programs in different parts of the country that were in town Not to for the holidays and came by and saw us and that was great and the tenant of our services, we really did enjoy getting to meet those of you that came by and you’re always welcome anytime of year not just during the holidays but whenever you’re in the area, please just come on by and say hi and visit us here for worship service or also on our weekdays when we have our resource center open, come by and say hi and take a look at what we’ve got.
Again, I want to thank all of you who pray for us. We certainly want everybody to put us on your perilous. Would you do that? Write that down. Pray for my whole hand every day. The devil sure has given us a hard time, but I believe that’s because we’re accomplishing something and the devil doesn’t like, I think, the word to get out. And so we expect that that is par for the Course. You know, it tells us in Timothy that those that will have got Christ Jesus will suffer persecution and that happens and it seems like the devil gave us a fit with phone lines and equipment and lightning strikes and everything else that happened this past year that would try to interrupt the program and sometimes those are things that we just have learned to expect and we said, devil that’s not going to stop us, we’re going
to continue to proclaim your word as long as we have breath in our bodies here at Bible and so continue to pray for us and if you could you could help us also to stay on the air by your gifts if you would consider being a giver to Bible and again nobody gets any salary from Bible and so all the money is go to keep us on the air and to pay those expenses And so maybe you’d like to help us.
If you just gave a dollar for every day you listened, wouldn’t that be great? If every listener did that, we’d have more than enough, I’m sure, to take care of all the needs that we have. But consider that anyway. And maybe give a gift. Maybe if you gave 50 cents a day every for every month, that would be great. But maybe sit down and think about an amount. maybe you might give on a regular basis that would really help Bible and I hate to talk about money and we’re really not trying to get your money.
It’s a necessary thing that we have to do because we don’t have a reserve account. We don’t have pledges or subscribers. We don’t have anybody underwriting the program. We simply trust God and he supplies through people just like you who listen and who enjoy the program. Okay, we’re going to go back to phone lines we have uh… all fears and we’ve got some live ones we got scott in zephyr hills for the and scott welcome to bible yeah i guess doctor mister mike like uh…
ask you a question and i’m going to hang up and listen to your answer okay i’ve often heard you say that uh… there’s no one at present in hell that satan will be the first so my question is uh… where are present we the sole spirits of the dead unsaved if they’re not in hell. Alright, the answer is they’re in Hades, and one of the problems that has occurred is that the word Hades sometimes is translated hell, which it shouldn’t be.
The Greek word for the real final hell, the eternal lake of fire is Kihana, whereas Hades is the word for a place in the heart of the earth. And if you read Luke 16, beginning at verse 19 It gives a description of a rich man who dies and finds himself in flame and torment in the heart of the earth in this place called Hades. He is still there. He will be there till after the thousand year reign of Christ.
If you read Revelation 20, it tells us when the thousand years are expired. Satan is then loosed out of being in Hades himself for that thousand years and then he will be cast into the eternal lake of fire verse 10 of chapter 20 Revelation. Then we see all the unsaved dead, small and great, brought up out of Hades given resurrection bodies, judged according to their works, assigned a degree of punishment and cast into the same lake of fire that Satan is going to be cast into.
So that’s kind of a brief summary, but there are numerous verses. If you have a skill field, the notes are so wonderful that describe these different doctrines and it will give you the passages to look up at. No doubt. I will remind you that Satan is first. ItInterstitial for the Devil and his angels Matthew 20.1. The lost died immediately are present like that rich man. It’s a good example. And will remain there. Wait until I cast into the eternal like a fire.
and Dr. Winston that their conscience is conscious, but they’re not in the flames of hell then, right? They’re not in hell yet, but they’re in flames. The Bible says that the Richmond says that I’m tormented in this flame, so he’s definitely in a place of flame and torment. It’s not a purgatory. He’s not getting rid of his sin debt because the only way that can be done is by Christ death on behalf or a person would have to spend all eternity in hell if they paid for their sin that.
So there’s no way of working it off. If you die without Christ, you’re forever lost. And so that’s the case of everybody that dies. And the rich man was very concerned there. If you read the conversation, this is a real story about his five brothers that were still on the earth that were not yet dead, but were very much alive, but yet were not believers. And he wanted somebody to go witness to them because he says, less they should also come to this place of torment.
So he was clearly in torment and he was still there to this hour. So is there any difference then Dr. Lindstrom in their condition? Is there any real difference between 80s and hell? Oh absolutely. And apparently in hell there will be degrees of punishment which in Haiti is apparently there is not any degree. But in Revelation 20 the unsaved will be given an assignment as to what degree of punishment they’ll receive according to the light they rejected in court according to the works and deeds that they did and other numerous verses that talk about degrees of punishment so state will be the worst punished in hell and then not others according to what they’ve done i would imagine a guy like a hitler and others that have been the you know committed he needs crimes would definitely be and getting the worst type of punishment held could be down
i think what i’ve cleared that up i was a little confused thank you so much for your help well you’re so welcome and thank you for listening in calling in today uh… to by one all right we have uh… the number of other all fair questions here we try to take a few of them uh… we have a done in braidon florida He is asking a question here about Revelation 9-1. And contrasting that with John 6, let me just take a look at Revelation 9-1 first and see what it says.
It says here in Revelation 9, and I am almost there, verse 1, and the fifth angel sounded and I saw a star fall from heaven under the earth and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. He says, Explain John 665 with that verse in mind. Let’s see what John 665 says. I’m not too sure if I see a connection here. It says in verse 65, he said, therefore said I unto you that no man can come unto me except that we are given him of my Father.
I don’t really see the connection here. I’m just asking you to explain two different verses. Don in Bradenton, please call back and explain what you’re asking. I don’t see any correlation between the two verses at all. And maybe I misunderstood the question. So call back and we’ll go at this one again. All right, we have Greg in Tampa, Florida calls in, all fair says, Dr. Hank, I know the Bible tells us to pray to God, the Father, in Jesus name.
But since he’s my Savior and since I try to daily walk with him, is it okay to pray to Christ directly as well? And I think it’s fine. But actually, we have to realize that Jesus is God, the Holy Spirit is God, and the Father is God. The three are one. But the Bible order is that we prayed to the Father through Jesus and in the direction given to us in God’s word which is written by the Holy Spirit.
But I don’t think there’s a problem with addressing Jesus directly. We have Eddie in Lakeland, Florida. He leaves this off air question for us. In Genesis chapter 4, Eddie says, explain. Okay. Well, I’m heading there right now, Eddie, and we’re going to Genesis chapter 4 verse 24 says. If Cain shall be avenged seventyfold, truly Le Meck 70 and sevenfold. It’s just saying basically that God had given a warning here and a mark upon Cain that nobody would touch him and if anybody did then they would be avenged by the Lord himself and he is saying here that that the same would be even more so if they did anything to LeMec.
So this was the, that’s all it’s saying is that he would be punished in a greater way. We have John and Tampa and John. Welcome to Bibleline. Hi, it’s Pastor Hack. Yes, sir. That’s nice of a privilege to talk to you again. I, as I think I talked to you a couple of days ago, I was on my way out to St. the same beats. Okay. And I heard you and a couple of times since that you’ve just studied the Bible and how to study the Bible.
Now I just wanted to offer a couple of verses you allow me to string it, three verses or so together. So make a point. I think it’s quite precious and I enjoyed your answer. There’s a wonderful verse in Isaiah 28, whom shall the Lord teach knowledge. Of course, the context and that’s. that chapter ultimately is the rejection of Israel regarding that knowledge, but nonetheless, the truth, the principle still exists, that it’s the Lord who teaches by his Spirit. But there’s a wonderful verse that says in John 7, 17, if a man’s willing or wills to do God’s will, he shall know.
I may not know very hard to attitude his Lord, help me be obedient to what you show me. promise in the scripture with the same force of that I’m going to learn what he knows I have need to learn in order to put one foot in front of another to please him. And the other verse I would link with it is in Exodus, I’ve always loved these verses, it says, the one who gathers much has nothing over. The one who gathers little will have no lack.
promises from God as to how I can learn the Bible. I’m never going to learn it as a seminary student. I’m only going to learn it when I walk with the Lord. All right, John, that was good advice. God bless. All right. And that is really true. You know, it also is if somebody just sits down and reads the Bible, you’re probably going to get very much. Jesus, of course, tells us the key to learning is yoking yourself together with him in service.
Then if you serve him, then you will learn. So a lot of people just think they can sit down and just read the Bible intellectually and they can glean information truly. But he says in Matthew 11, 29, I’m going to add this John to what you have said, take my yoke upon you. Now the yoke was, of course, that instrument that they would put over the oxen’s head. Use it with a double yoke. They’d put it over the heads, the ropes going back to the plow and the reins to guide the oxen.
Came back off of that yoke. But it’s talking about laboring for Christ. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you shall find rest unto yourselves. So the way we really learn is by doing. Once we read the Word of God and put it into practice, then we become matured and we learn as we do. There are some people who sit in a pew that haven’t made any progress, even though they might not be.
