We’re going to be in Jerusalem all this week and we’ll be seeing so many things and today we had a wonderful day the weather was great and everybody was enthusiastic to see what we had come to see here and Our first stop this morning was on the top of the Mount of Olives. The Mount of Olives has mentioned many, many times in the Bible, and we know it is the mountain where Christ ascended from when He concluded His ministry after being crucified and dying and shedding His blood to pay for our sin.

He was buried and then rose from the dead 72 hours later and then showed Himself alive for forty days and then he ascends into heaven and is watched. It was visible. It says that as they beheld he was taken up from them in a cloud. That is Acts 1 verse 9. So Christ departed and the Bible tells us that he will come back in the same manner in which he had left and we were on the top of the amount of all of today.

When Christ comes back, he’ll return to the same mountain, it’s going to split in half, it’ll form a valley that will allow for the river of water that will flow out from underneath the new temple to flow directly east down to the Dead Sea and bring life to the Dead Sea. That’s in Zechariah chapter 14 where it says this river will flow summer and winter all year constant stream of water that will go down in two directions, one to the Mediterranean, the other to the Dead Sea, and by the way Jerusalem is dead center between those two seas.

It’s right there between the Mediterranean and the Dead Sea and we were there today. Now Jesus, when he was toward the of his ministry when he was ready to give himself as the sacrifice for our sins went down the slopes of the Mount of Olives. He rode on a donkey and the crowds strawed the way with palm branches and threw their coats and cloaks down on the ground and cried out, Hosanna, to the son of David. That’s a Messianic title.

Messianic means Messiah. So they cried out, Hosanna to the son of David. That was an Old Testament phrase that reminded us that the Messiah would come of David’s lineage. We know that Jesus Christ of the flesh. He was born out of the same lineages David came out of. That is out of the tribe of Judah. Jesus Christ came and fulfilled one of those prophecies. He came riding down the slopes of the Mount of Olives. About halfway down he looks over the city and he stops.

and he laments over the city’s rejection of him, he had come as their Savior, had come to bring salvation, and yet they had rejected him. In Matthew 23, in verse 37, it says, O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together even as a hen gathered her chickens under her wings and you would not. Notice it doesn’t say you could not, it says you would not.

Matthew 23 verse 37. So it was by personal choice that they rejected the Messiah and Jesus said how often he would have gathered them as a hen her chickens under her wings, but they would not. And so he then announces in verse 38, Behold your house is left unto you desolate, the house being the temple. That was the house that Solomon had built originally for God and to show his presence. And then the second temple rebuilt by those who came back from the Babylonian captivity was also the same house as far as God described it, although this was built by those captives that came back out of the Babylonian captivity.

And here Christ comes to that house, he’s rejected, and so he says, I’m leaving. Your house is left unto you, desolate. And many says in verse 39 I say unto you that you shall not see me henceforth tell you shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. In other words, until the Jews say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of Yeshua, which is equivalent in English to Jesus, he says he’s not coming back.

And I believe we are already seeing Jewish people coming to know that Christ is their Savior and we are beginning to see the blindness come off of their eyes and Jesus will come back and find that there will be millions of Jews and many, many, many more Gentiles that will have trusted Christ’s Savior by that time and when they say blessed or happy is the one that calls upon the name of Yeshua or Jesus, then we find that He will return.

So after the rapture, the blinders truly come off and many Jewish people will become saved and then He will come back. And already here in Israel I know that there are Jewish people who believe in Christ who are saying that very phrase right now. Blessed is he the cometh in the name of Yeshua or Jesus, and as a result I think it tells us we’re getting closer by the day. Then we find that after Jesus pronounces that judgment upon Israel in verse 24 it says in Matthew and Jesus went out and departed from the temple and the disciples came to him for to show him the buildings of the temple.

And Jesus saith unto them, see not all these things, barely I say unto you, there shall not be one stone left upon another that shall not be thrown down. And how real that became to all of us today, as the temple mount was swept clean by the the Romans, actually there was gold used with that temple and when they set it on fire the gold melted down between the stones and so the Romans in order to get all the gold took it apart stone by stone and pushed those stones off in the temple mound.

And so the prophecy was literally fulfilled and we saw like a rubble pile of these huge stones weighing thousands of pounds apiece, maybe several thousands of pounds, lying just as they fell 2,000 years ago. Amazing, isn’t it? And that’s one of the reasons why I believe the Bible is the Word of God. It never fails. Whenever it speaks of something in the future, it always comes to pass. We are living in the time now, I believe, when Jesus will return.

So then we walked down this ancient Roman road when Jesus came that day. He probably spent the night with Mary, Martha, and Lazarus. They lived just on the eastern side of the Mount of Olives and a little town called Bethany. and as he came to Jerusalem he came over the top of the mountain and began to cross down on the ancient Roman road which we walked on today. And as we left the place where he lamented over Jerusalem and said, you’ll not see me his fourth hill.

You shall say, blessed to see the cometh in the name of the Lord. We find that we continued our journey down and wound up in the Garden of Gethsemane. Now the Garden of Gethsemane is directly across the Kidron Valley from the double gate that is walled up and sealed up called the Golden Gate, the Eastern Gate and so on. And Ezekiel chapter 44 gave a prophecy long long long ago, way before Christ ever came the first time, that that gate would be for the Messiah, that he would go in and out of that gate and when did that happen?

Actually at his first coming, it actually says, God went in and out of that gate and Jesus is God and so he did go in and out of that gate. And then the Bible predicted that it would be walled up and not open again until Jesus would come back. That again is something visible we can see with our eyes that has been fulfilled in the 1500s when the Turks controlled the whole Middle East. There were no individual countries. There was just what was called the Audubon Empire and everything from Turkey all the way down to Egypt was all one country.

The sultan heard that the Bible taught that when the Messiah would come back, he would defeat them all and that he would enter in through that gate into the temple to set up his kingdom. And so the sultan ordered his engineers to wall it up to prevent that from happening. And of course we were kind of chuckling because obviously walling up the gate would not prevent Christ at all. He is going to open that gate and enter into the Temple Mount and he will rule and reign over the earth for a thousand years from the Temple right there in Jerusalem on the Temple Mount.

So there we saw the line from the Garden of Yosemite. You see when Christ would leave Jerusalem maybe in the afternoon it was the first stop as he crossed the valley, he catches his Roman road that would cross the Mount of Olives back to Bethany or wherever he was going. And so as he came out of the temple, that’s where he’d find himself right there. And here were all these olive trees. It was probably a pleasant place to stop and get shade and just maybe converse.

It was really a meeting area. And to his disciples in Christ the Bible says often resorted to that place. And so when Christ was about to be betrayed by Judas he came to that place. And when Christ at the Last Supper told Judas go and do what you are going to do quickly, we know that Judas went and he brought the soldiers and the lanterns and these armed men to take Christ and it says that he knew the place.

Judas had been there many times before with the other disciples in Christ and so he took the soldiers right there. But prior to their arrival, Jesus asked his disciples to pray with him and he there in prayer, agonized over what was going to take place the next day. He said, Father, if it be possible that this cup passed from me, but if not, I will be done and not mine. Not my will, but I will be done.” And so Christ prayed that three times, and during those times, the disciples kept falling asleep.

He asked them to stay awake and pray with him that they would not fall into temptation. But guess what? They fell asleep each time. They couldn’t stay awake. And as a result, when Christ was taken and apprehended, they fell in a temptation. Peter denied the Lord three times. Here’s the case of Jesus’ blood. Some in past ages have wondered about that, if that was not an exaggeration. But know if it’s a well-documented fact, but a person under extreme The little vessels in your capillaries or rather capillaries in your sweat glands break games.

8 7 7 9 8 9 9 7 8 and the blood then is mingled with your sweat and it pours out and Christ apparently was 9 9 9 9 9 in extreme agony as he faced the cross. Here was this sinless man all of a sudden going to become 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 sinned for us, and he would take the sins of you and me and everyone else who’s ever 9 9 9 9 9 lived, and he would become sinful before God.

And God would turn his back upon him, and the wrath of God would come upon him. And so Jesus Christ agonized over what was about to take place. And so that all happened in the garden of Gethsemane. By the way, this is Bible item, Dr. Anker, and Kielen Striman were coming to you from Jerusalem from our hotel in Jerusalem and we’re just a matter of blocks away from the old city of Jerusalem. Literally so. And we have a lot to see and we’re looking forward to seeing so much and I wish you could be here with us.

But we’re trying to bring you over here by way of radio to tell you what’s happening and what we’re experiencing. I’m sure we’re going to plan another trip so far about half the people on this trip that said they’ve got to come back. It’s just too much material to process. They want to come and continue their learning because this just really is too much to take in in one trip. I remember on my first trip that I knew I had to come back.

I said this is more than I can process and this will be my 14th time now, so it’s getting a little easier. But the first trip was really, really powerful, and I decided then I needed to do that. I sure hope that you will be thinking about that when we announce the departure date in the future that you might make plans to join us here on a trip to Israel. But right now we’re in Jerusalem, we’ve been up in Galilee and we’ve had a wonderful time this far.

I think I’ll break in right here and take a few questions. I think we have some offer questions. We have a guy named Twinegal and he lives in Utica, New York and he says, how does one talk to someone of the Mormon faith? Well everybody needs the same gospel, so you need to tell them about the death, the burial, the resurrection of Christ as the only means of salvation. The Mormons, like so many Christian groups, the Mormons are not Christian at all, they’re really a cult, but you talk to them just like even many Christian groups that believe in works for salvation.

The Mormons believe you have to have water baptism. The Mormons teach keeping the Ten Commandments, and so they basically works oriented as the means of their salvation. In order to be saved, you must recognize that Jesus Christ is God, and that He took on human flesh, and that He went to the cross, and by His death and shed blood paid for your sins in full, that He was buried, and that He rose again from the dead. The moment you trust Christ, you would be saved and receive eternal life.

But generally most cults don’t easily take to the Bible. They’re pretty thoroughly indoctrinated and most all cults have another book that they hold as a great authority. In this case the Book of Mormon. And so they need to be shown what the Bible has to say and how the salvation is by faith alone and Christ alone and as received at the moment you believe. So if you’re witnessing to a Mormon, that’s what I would remind you to keep in mind.

The basic key in winning anybody to Christ is presenting the gospel. The Bible says that the gospel is the power of God and the salvation to everyone that believed it, Romans 1, 16. So you have to believe or trust the gospel message, the message of the death, the barrel, and the resurrection of Christ in order to be saved. Someone on our tour group has asked the question, considering the large amount of salt in the Dead Sea, what type of natural disaster would it take to make the Dead Sea suitable for living things a huge flood or what?

Well I don’t know if it’s ever going to be possible, but it will have life coming right down to its edges. right now the Israelis are taking water and bringing it to the edge of the Dead Sea. It’s been a difficult process because they’ve had to flush out the sand, the water, even the soil is so saturated with salt there they have to wash a lot of that out. But now they’ve been raising these huge date farms, they have all kinds of other things that they grow down near the Dead Sea, including they grow all kinds of flowers here in Israel and including tulips of all things.

And you usually think of tulips, you think of Holland, but they export more tulips from Israel to Europe than Holland does. Isn’t that amazing? They put them on these jetliners and fly them over and sell them. Israel has an amazing number of different agricultural products that are now being raised along the edge of the Dead Sea. On my first trip I didn’t see anything like that and now you come down there and there are areas. But the river that will flow out from underneath the new temple when Jesus returns will bring living water down to the Dead Sea and it will bring life in the river all the way down.

fishes will be grown and I believe in pools all along the way and the Ezekiel seems to hint at that and then also the water will bring life for irrigation on either side and bring trees as Ezekiel says down the whole way and maybe bring some fish to part of the density. I don’t know though, it’ll ever become able to fully sustain any real life because of the tremendous salt content it has. That’s a good question. And I’ve thought about that and I don’t believe we’re probably going to ever see it be a body of water like the Sea of Galilee, which is very, very much alive.

Okay, we have Jose on our tour group. ask this question, the Trinity is present in the baptism of Jesus Christ. Are there other occasions when they are also together in the Bible? And of course, yes, that is indeed true. We have of course so many verses that have all three members in those verses. I like in John 14 in particular what Jesus says, and these are great verses to support the Trinity in the New Testament. In John 14, Christ says in verse 16, and I, that’s Jesus, the second eternal member of the Godhead, will pray the Father, that’s the first member of the eternal Godhead, and It says he shall give you another comforter, that is the Holy Spirit, verse 17 says even the spirit of truth which the world cannot receive because it sees him not, neither know of him, but you know him for he dwelt with you and shall be in you.

So here you have all three members of God hidden in one verse. I, Christ, will pray to the Father and he shall send you another comforter. The comforter is the Holy Spirit. So you have all three. If you look on down in verse 26 it says the comforter which is the Holy Spirit, that’s the third member of the eternal Godhead. Whom the Father, there you have the first member of the Godhead, will send in my name that’s Jesus, there you have the second member of the Godhead, all three, one, two, three and verse after verse in John’s gospel.

I have verses like that that you can find all three members, no wonder we believe in the Trinity. It’s hard to escape it. It’s certainly there. And so we surely thank you for that question. We are getting near our break time and we are going to try to bring you back in the second half hour to our trip here in Israel. We also want to say if you’ve never trusted Jesus Christ as your Savior, you need to do that.

If you die without Christ, you cannot enter heaven and the Bible teaches that you will wind up in hell. You do not want that to happen. And all you need to do is simply trust Jesus as your Savior and the way you can do that is just say, Lord, I’m a sinner. I don’t understand a whole lot, but I believe Jesus Christ died for me, paid for my sins was buried, and rose again from the dead. And the moment you trust Him, God will save you.

If you haven’t given a gift to the Bibleline this month, would you consider doing that? We’re totally supported by our listeners and without your help, we cannot stay on the And that’s just a simple fact. And I believe that Bible and would be a great investment spiritually. You know, we can lay up treasures in Heaven as we give of our time and our talents and our treasures. And if you’re thinking about where to give, you ought to give where you’re being blessed.

And give where souls are being won, the lost are being challenged. and people are making decisions for Christ after they become saved. You can do that by credit card over the phone by calling our operator and that number we’ve given on the phone or on the radio but also you can do it by check. If you want to call the agent number, they’ll be glad to send you an envelope with our address printed on it and or you can give a gift by credit card over the phone.

You can also do it on our online bookstore, on our website, BibleLineMinistries.org or dot com. You got to run a whole new video right here where it is, on trace it out. We’ll be right back into this short break. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well, I’m Dr. Anglican Sibren. This is Bibleline and it sure is great to be with you and we’re coming to you this week All of it from Israel and we certainly hope you’ll tune into each of these programs and enjoy Following us on our journey and we’re seeing so many things that really bring the Bible to life each and every part of this trip and We hope that you’ll listen these programs again and again on the internet by going to Bibleline ministries.org or dot com And of course, we’ll be sharing some of these things on our television program as well as we’ve been taking a lot of video that we hope we can present some of the things that we’ve done and seen on our television programs.

And you can get those on the Internet as well by clicking on the television set on the homepage of our website. Again, if you haven’t given the Bibleline this month, we hope that you’ll consider doing that. We appreciate you when you pray for so many have told us that they pray every day for Bibleline. And I’m so pleased that you are and humbled by your prayers. And we simply thank God for every one of you. And if you could give, you could do it by credit card or by mail.

All you have to do is call the 800 number and ask for an envelope to be sent out or you can do it by credit card over the phone or by credit card on our online bookstore on the website, BibleLineMinistries.org or .com. In any case, we certainly have a vital link between you and us without our partnership, without you sharing with how God has blessed you to Bible-ign ministries, we would not be able to be on the air. Would you tell your friends?

We had a most exciting adventure on this trip. We had a group of people from Nigeria join our nightly Bible study, and one of the men stood up and said that he listens to Bible-ign on the internet in Nigeria. Wow, that was an exciting moment for us to know how this program is reaching out. What are the chances of that happening? We believe about zero, but God obviously had brought this man and brought us to the same hotel at the same time to meet at the same moment and to share the blessing of how God can connect people up and that was a real blessing to all of our group.

many more things that have happened that have really been an exciting part of our journey here in the Holy Land. We’re going to go and return to the stations that have been on break into the second half of Bible and just stay tuned right where you are or if your station doesn’t carry it, go to the internet real quick and click on the spinning globe and you’ll be connected. Here we go. Talk to you.

Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. I’m Dr. Inglisrim and this is Bible I and we’re back from our break and we’re here in Jerusalem, Israel. That’s right. Jerusalem hard to believe isn’t it? And this is the first time we’ve ever tried to broadcast outside the United States and we’re excited about the fact that we’re able to bring these programs to you and that is exciting for us and hopefully exciting for you as well and I hope you’re We’re enjoying our commentary on what we’re experiencing here and maybe you would like to plan to be on the next trip with us as even most of the people on this group are telling me right now and we’re only halfway through that they need to come back because

there’s just so much to process. You see so many things, you just can’t process it in your mind, it’s overwhelming. And so maybe you can plan ahead and when we come again you could be on board with us and that would be wonderful. We are looking forward to being with you each everyday live from Tampa, Florida, when we get back next week. And so I hope you’ll be listening, and we’ll be back. And we’ll be able to take our live callers, which we haven’t been able to do.

But perhaps in the future, with the equipment that we might need to get to bring with us to do that, we could be able to pull that off. But every key thing costs money, and we try to run as cheap as we can, and we try to send all the money that comes in right back into getting this message out. Maybe you’d like to help us here in the month of March. Maybe you’d like to give a gift to Bibleline.

That would sure be greatly appreciated. Pray for us, first of all, and then if you can give a gift, that would be wonderful, and no gift is too small. In fact, some of the gifts that have touched me the most have been some guys in jail. We have people in jail all over the place that have been listening to the Bibleline. Some of them took a little offering up. All they had was postage stamps. They got them together and put them in all the books and said, this is all we have to send you.

They said it was a couple dollars worth of postage stamps. I thought, wow, that’s just like the widow’s wife. I think meant more to us than some other gifts that came in because we knew it was truly from the heart and it was a true expression of their appreciation for Bibleline. We certainly thank God and we often have prisoners asked for Bibles and other things to read and use for evangelism in the prison and maybe you could help Bibleline to be able to do that because Bibles aren’t as cheap anymore and we like to give them something that will be a very good tool for them to use and send them the tracks and other materials they might need.

So consider that as you give and you can give a gift by credit card over the phone by calling our 800 number 1-800-576-3771 or you can call our operators and leave or rather give your address, leave your address and we’ll be glad to send you an envelope with our dress printed on it and you could send that gift into Bible and God bless all of you. We thank you in advance for your prayers and for your gifts to Bible and I think we’ll first take a couple of questions and then we’ll go back to picking up on our tour to kind of change up the way we’re doing this.

We have a call here from Ed in North Prairie, Wisconsin. And we’ve been getting some more calls lately from Wisconsin. That’s exciting. Anyway, Ed has asked the question, tattooing and body piercing. Is it allowed for a Christian? And the answer is the Bible says no. Leviticus 1928 says that you’re not to do any cuttings in your body or print any marks on your body. And I know some listening have tattoos and you’ve already done that. And then it’s kind of like too late.

It’s not much you can do about it. You can try to have them removed. But I think this is more like a warning for your children or for young people or people who have not yet had those things that they would not do it. It’s like graffiti, I believe. If somebody came to your house and just put graffiti all over it, you would be quite upset. But you know, the Bible says that God created our bodies, and if you put marks all over him, I think it’s offensive to God because he doesn’t want graffiti on the body he built for you.

So both piercings and tattoos are wrong. Leviticus 19, 28, Ed and North Prairie with constant thank you for calling in. We have Brian in Tampa, Florida. He says, Hi, Dr. Lindstrom. Please explain the phrase, they that depart from me shall be written in the earth in Jeremiah 17-3. Let me look at that passage for a minute. I’m turning there and we’ll take a look at what it says in the context. But Jeremiah 17, verse 3, I am almost there.

I’m turning in my Bible as we speak. The Jeremiah 1713, and it says here O Lord, the hope of Israel, all the forsake these shall be ashamed, and all they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the Lord the fountain of living waters. Let us basically say that they will be lost, and apparently they will not be written in the the Lamb’s Wic of Life when they die, their names will be plotted out and so they will only be written in the earth which speaks about that they will not have the eternal life that we as believers have.

Thank you very much Brian and we appreciate your call. This morning we were up on top of the Mount of Olives on our trip here in Israel in Jerusalem and we were looking over the sea of Jerusalem and what a spectacular view we had from the top of the Mount of Olives. Our group also got a group picture and somehow they got me to get on a camel and I was in the rear of the picture on the camel and it was kind of a, I think it’s the only group picture we took so far on the whole trip and we were all together experiencing the wonderful view of the city of Jerusalem.

Then of course we went down below and we went to the Garden of Gethsemane and we saw awesome olive trees there which were over 2000 years old and were maybe there in the garden when Christ prayed that night when he agonized over the cross the next day. And so we may have seen some of the trees, maybe the Christ found shade under or prayed under and we were certainly really touched to be able to be there and to see these trees.

Seems like olive trees never die. They seem to continually produce fruit forever and ever. So sometimes they’re a picture of everlasting life. And so from there we drove to Mount Zion And in Mount Zion, we have the traditional burial place of King David. It may not that he was originally buried there. It may be that they relocated him there to that place. But there’s a long tradition that King David’s tomb is in Mount Zion, rather Mount Zion. And there we saw the place of his tomb.

It’s a very holy place to Jews. It’s like a synagogue, a place of worship, and the men and the women separate as they come to the tomb of David. But David, of course, was the one that God promised that the Messiah would come of His lineage. And the Bible certainly teaches that Christ will come again, and I believe we’re living close to when He will. And the many Jews that we’ve been able to talk to along this trip, when asked about believing in the Messiah’s coming, they all say yes.

Of course they don’t believe it’s the second coming, they believe it’s the first coming, and so they’re lost. But we’re praying that seed planted by us and others would bring many of these Jewish people to a saving knowledge of their Savior Jesus Christ and hopefully before it’s too late. We also, while we were there, saw the place at least close to something like where the Lord had the last supper. We saw an upper room and there’s a long tradition here, but we don’t know that that’s really that same room or not.

We were. Really, very, very close. Mount Zion isn’t very large, and we had to be within a couple blocks of, if not a couple hundred yards or a few yards away from where Christ had the Last Supper. And so that was exciting for us to be right there in that area. But also Pentecost occurred in Mount Zion, and the Holy Spirit came and dwelt the first believers at Pentecost and we saw the traditional site of where people sometimes believe that the place of Pentecost occurred.

Where again they were gathered together and were of one accord and then the Holy Spirit came and placed these believers into the body of Christ which was a new thing. You don’t have the body of Christ in the Old Testament. We don’t have the baptism with the Holy Spirit in the Old Testament because the baptism of the Holy Spirit is replacing the believer into the body of Christ. That first happened at Pentecost and then happens to every believer thereafter.

Upon belief for us we become baptized with the Holy Spirit, sealed with the Holy Spirit, dwelt with the Holy Spirit and regenerated by the Holy Spirit. Those are four operations of the Holy Spirit that every believer experiences at the moment belief. And the baptism is the placing of the believer in the Christ body. 1 Corinthians 12, 13 says by one spirit, are we all baptized into one body, whether we be bond or freed, you agree, and we’ve all been made to drink into one spirit.

So it is the immersing, the cleansing that occurs when you’re placed into Christ body that occurs. And in verse 27 of 1 Corinthians 12, it says now, not later, but right now you are the members of the body of Christ and you are the body of Christ and members in particular. So we know at the very moment or instant of belief you are placed into Christ’s body. And how exciting that is. Then we also went over to the whaling wall which is the western retaining wall around the temple mount and there is only a small portion of that wall exposed.

It really runs for many many blocks. It actually is the western retaining wall around a 35 acre temple mount platform and the only the top portion of the wall is exposed. When we walked up to the wedding wall today, we were only seeing the top 40 feet. To go down to the foundation stones, when Solomon built the temple, you have to go down another 80 feet. It’s possible to do that and to walk along the wall, right there where you see the mountain bedrock and the first stones that Solomon cut to lay over that, they’re cut to fit and and they fit perfectly and each of them were eight thousands of pounds.

You really have to wonder how could they accomplish this. But you can walk along that entire wall at the very base. And that is the really the pavement level at the time of Christ. And that was the path that was used to take Christ to Pilate. And right at the north end of that tunnel or right at the north end of the Western retaining wall, you have the fortress of Antonio where Pilate was early that morning when the Jews brought Jesus to Pilate.

And you can actually see it’s on the same level with the original stones of the courtyard of that fortress. And you can see because the horses of Pilate and of the Romans used horses and they would It slipped on those stones that we nearly slipped on many times. They cut grooves in them, big grooves so that it would provide some traction for the horses. And we’ll walk probably on that floor on the next day or so and get a chance to see where Price was actually standing there before Pilate when he said to the people, Behold the Man.

the king of Israel and they rejected him and demanded his crucifixion. And so that was a real special visit and the Whaling Wall is one of four walls that really encased the Temple Mount platform. The wall on the east we had seen early in the morning when we saw from the Mount of Olives. The southern wall we saw later when we went to the museum there and saw a lot of the excavations and the northern one we haven’t seen yet but we’ve seen at least a small portion of the western wall.

Most of it is He was buried in another site from view, but they have cleared it out at the very bottom so you can actually walk through that tunnel and come out of the fortress of Antonio. And then of course we got to visit some of the excavations and got to see really what an incredible place the temple used to be, but it was destroyed by the Romans as God had predicted it would be because of the rejection of Christ.

So the Jews lost their temple, they lost their city, and they were dispersed among the nations of the earth and have been until this past century when Jewish people have been coming back. Many of them came back because of the persecution of what happened in Europe with Hitler. We know that the Byzantine cross is basically kind of a square cross when you look at how it comes out. What Hitler did because he was anti-Christ is he broke each cross off and that became the swastika.

The swastika is really the result of breaking down the Jerusalem cross and breaking each branch of it off and they turn to the right as you twist them and that’s the swastika, which is a symbol of hatred toward God, hatred toward Christ, hatred toward the Jew and obviously That was the symbol they used as the banner for the Nazi regime that killed six million Jews. And many Jews have returned back to the state of Israel because of that persecution and the six million that were killed in the concentration camps in Israel.

So I mean in Europe and they came to Israel fleeing for a place to find refuge. And since then they’re coming from all over the world back to this land. A sure sign that the return of Christ is coming along right before. And so this is very, very exciting. We I think we’ll pause for a minute and look at some more off air questions. We have one from Gene in St. Petersburg. The question says, is it a sin to drink red wine sometimes if one doesn’t get drunk?

The answer is it’s not a sin to do that. It says that Ephesians 5, 18 be not drunk with wine. So the real prohibition is not to not drink wine but to not get drunk. I don’t drink any type of alcohol at all in any form because, especially in America, not so much in other countries, people think if you drink anything, you drink to get drunk because it seems to be an American thing where if you take alcohol in, you’re going to get drunk.

So I just don’t want anybody to think I drink alcohol and get drunk. So I don’t drink it at all, but I think you can. And in some countries, it’s a good thing because of the water conditions. You can get yourself sick and get dysentery and so on. And of course, the alcohol, the wines that we brew in America today are much, much, much stronger than the ones they drank in biblical times. They were a very mild wine, but it did prevent dysentery and so on.

And like Paul told Timothy, drink a little wine for your offered stomach troubles. And so Timothy had stomach troubles and Paul recommended drink a little wine for that. So it can have helpful advantages, but you’re not to get drunk. I hope that helps Jean. Ephesians 5-18 is the verse I just cited. Somebody on our tour is asking the question, what is Hezekiah’s wall? Well, Hezekiah was one of the early kings in Israel and he built a wall around the city of Jerusalem that we saw today was quite impressive.

The remains of it have been buried and we saw them at the south end of the temple today. Quite a king, he was a builder. the one that brought water inside the early city of Jerusalem by taking water from the Gehan Spring. And cutting through the mountain, they came from both sides and the workmen. It’s almost a mile or two. They came from both sides and only missed by a few inches. And there there was a description which now has been carved out and is in the British Museum in London that tells that story.

And I used to take my groups through that. I haven’t done it now lately. but we go in at the Gihan Spring and you need to wear some wet socks or tennis shoes. You’re going to get wet at least to your waist and you need to bring a flashlight because it’s no lights in there and so we provide our own light. But if you’re claustrophobic I recommend you don’t even do it but you go waist deeper more all the way through in that much water coming out of the Gihan spring flowing to the pool of Silom.

When you finally get to the other side you break out into this pool which I think we’re going to see tomorrow where the water flows into that pool and has for thousands of years. It has the guys about three thousand years ago and so that water is still flowing to this day. That was quite an engineering feat at that time to be able to figure out the direction and the angle of the descent of the water so it flows not trying to go up hill but it would go down and it came out perfectly as the work was started at both ends and people marvel today at that engineering feat that they could do that, chiseling from both sides and go through almost two miles of mountain and missed just by a few inches.

So I’m not going to do it on this trip but maybe we’ll try, if you want to come back and do that maybe we can arrange that, if they’ll let you. Things have changed a lot and that Gihan Spring now is probably in a safe neighborhood and Maybe difficult to get permission to Tsukuyomi But otherwise I’d love to do those kind of things and there was a tunnel when we visited Armageddon or Megiddo That we could have also gone through but they had some floods of rains there and it kind of made that impassable for right now, so we missed that opportunity, but There are lots of things for people who like to crawl through tunnels like I do, and so maybe you would want to do that sometime.

And if you go on our next trip, we’ll try to see what exciting things we’ll have in store for you. One of our highlights was our baptism, and we had three on this group that decided to get baptized. as some were going to change their mind. One of them is shaking his head at me right now as we produce this program. But it’s a wonderful experience for those who do it. Obviously, every believer should be baptized, not to be saved, but it’s a testimony that they’ve been cleansed or sinned by the blood of Jesus Christ.

So that was an exciting experience for us. But Israel is so full of things to see. You’re not going to really see everything in one trip, probably not in two trips. Usually every trip I enjoyed seeing something brand knew that I had never seen before or really was reminded of something I’d seen before and it became more meaningful to me on this trip or the trip before whenever I got to see it again. So we do invite you to plan on going.

That would be great. Alright, let’s go ahead and catch another question too. coming in here and we’re trying to keep up with him. John in New York says, if George Bush is such a professing Christian, why does he cater to the Muslim world? Well, I think he first of all just trying to try to soften relationships so that we can at least have dialogue and get along. But also perhaps he doesn’t understand that the God of Islam is not the same God that we worship as Christians, as I believe George Bushman has statement recently that the God of the Muslims and the God of Christianity is the same God.

That’s a serious error and I believe that is what has happened there. But you know the Muslim faith actually attacks the main But he says that God did not have a son and that’s certainly not true. That Jesus Christ is not the Son of God. And they say Jesus Christ did not die on the cross of Calvary, that he was not buried. he did not rise again from the dead and basically attacked the gospel message of the death, the barrel and the resurrection of Christ.

They need to be one to Christ, but also we need to realize that they hate us, especially the radical Muslims, want to see anybody who’s not a Christian, anybody who’s not saved, they want to see them dead. And that is scary, because even if you took the 15% that are radical Muslims, that’s around 350 Muslims that want to see all of us dead that are not of the Islamic faith. That’s a lot of people that want to kill me.

That’s more than I can imagine, 350 million Muslims are the radical ones because Muslim is about 1.2 billion people in Islam today. And most of them are going to die. I believe when Christ comes back because they will not trust Christ. We’re going to have to end the program. We’re out of time. I hope you’ll pray for us. If you can give a gift for this month, that’d be appreciated. We will have to say goodbye as we will be coming back to you from Jerusalem tomorrow.
