The rapture is the next event in God’s program. This is when Jesus Christ will return part way from Heaven and catch us out to meet Him in the air. If the prophecies are of events that will happen after we leave at the rapture, and we can see many of these occurring today, then we must be very close to the rapture.

We are excited about being in the last days we believe Christ is coming and is coming soon. If you are a believer, you may be in a group that will be exempted from death. In 1st Thessalonians 4, it says that if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, that the gospel message.
Then it says when Jesus comes, He will bring those souls of those that have died with Him. So we know that believers when they die, they’re absent from the body, present with the Lord. And when Christ returns, He’ll bring the souls of those that have died with Him, and their new bodies will rise up from the earth and meet the Lord in the air. That is the next event on God’s program. That could happen this year. Wouldn’t that be something?
Every believer on the face of the earth would be caught up to meet the Lord in the air and from that point on forever be with the Lord. It says in verse 16 of 1st Thessalonians 4, for the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout. So Jesus will come and he’ll shout. They’ll be the voice of the archangel, the trump of God and the dead in Christ shall rise first. What is that talking about? It’s talking about the body.
The body is spoken of as sleeping in the grave, the soul. The soul is present in conscious and with the Lord at the moment of death. Second Corinthians 5-8, absent from the body present with the Lord. But when Jesus comes, He will bring with Him. Verse 14, verse 14 of 1 Thessalonians 4 says He’ll bring with Him those that have already died. But their bodies will rise up from the earth first and then it says in verse 17, we which are alive.
That’s you. you and me. Hopefully if we are living at the event when Christ comes back, we which are alive and remain shall be caught up. That is the word Rapture. The word Rapture means caught up and there it is. I prefer it really just as it reads. The word Rapture, nobody knows what it means. You have to look it up in the dictionary but it means to be caught up. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them.
The them is those that have already died, whose bodies are sleeping in the grave, their souls are present and conscious with the Lord, and when the rapture happens, they receive their bodies as quickly as I faster or sooner than we get ours. We are going to be caught up right behind them to meet them in the air, and our new bodies will be transformed into our new bodies on the way up. It tells us over in Philippians and this is a beautiful verse.
It tells us that our citizenship as a believer is in heaven. Did you know that you are a citizen of heaven according to the Bible? That’s right. It says in Philippians 3.20, for our citizenship is in heaven. And then it says, from whence also we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. So we’re looking for Christ, which is what we’re supposed to be doing. Twenty-three times in the Gospels it tells us we’re to be watching, we’re to be looking for Christ.
The Preterus position is basically, look but you won’t see anything. Those who teach praterism believe that Christ will come back, but he comes back after everything’s all said and done. We are not to be looking for a rapture, we’re not to be looking for an earthly kingdom where Christ will rule and reign on this earth. But it says here, verse 21 of Philippians 3, who shall change our vile body that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body.
So the believer is going to have our bodies will have our bodies changed on the way up at the event of the Rapture every believer Will be in the Rapture that is living at the time of The event all those that have died before from Pentecost until the Rapture Will come back with Christ to the upper atmosphere their souls will come with him them according to 1st Thessalonians 414 and then their new bodies will rise up from the earth then we which are alive and remain you will be caught up to meet them in the air.
I believe that if you’re healthy a little bit longer you very possibly could be in this group called those that are raptured and you will be in a part of a group that will never die. That’s right, there is a group that will be exempted from death. You have the pictures in the Old Testament. Enoch, for example, before the flood was raptured out. Hebrews 11 tells us he was translated, he was walking along and all of a sudden he was not because the Lord took him and caught him up.
And then what happens? The flood comes upon the earth. a picture of the tribulation period. And we are obviously seeing something pictured to us in the Old Testament that will take place. Also, the story of Lot. We found that Lot and his family were evacuated before the judgment came upon Sodom and Gomorrah. And so we’re going to be raptured out, we’ll be snatched out or taken out or delivered from the coming judgment that will come on the earth during the seven years that will follow the rapture.
And then of course at the end of that seven years Christ returns to establish His Kingdom six times alone. In Revelation 20 it mentions the length. The Bible is promised throughout all of the Bible from the writings of Moses right on through the end of the New Testament. Christ will come back and establish a kingdom and be king over the earth. Have you trusted Christ? There’s only one way to be saved. There’s only one way to go to heaven.
1 Thessalonians 4 and 14 says it, If we believe that Jesus died and rose again, the word believe means more than mental assent, it means trust. When you trust Jesus Christ as the one who died for you, it’s at that moment that you trust Him, that you become saved, and from that moment on, saved eternally. I received eternal life when I was 18. When I trusted Christ, I still possess it and will forever into eternity. That is obviously good news.
And I hope you believe that good news and trusted Christ is your Savior and are assured that whenever you die, you’ll go to heaven. You know, it’s so simple. The Bible gives us a written guarantee. In chapter 5 verse 13 of 1 John, it says, These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God that you may know. K-N-O-W, not guess, not hope, not perhaps, not maybe. But you can actually know that you have ever lasting life.
Wow. And a lot of people, I don’t think, know that good news. But if you’re a believer, you ought to know right now that you’re saved and you’re going to have, and you have eternal life, you’ll never be cast out John 6, 37. You’ll never be lost because God is the one who keeps you saved. Jesus said it, Boel in John 10, 28, he says, I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish. That phrase really means you’ll never go to hell once you trust Christ.
They’ll never perish. That’s because Christ perished in your place. And then thirdly it says in that wonderful verse in John 10, 28, and neither shall any pluck them out of my hand. So to be lost, someone would have to be able to be more powerful than Christ, who is God, pluck you out of his hand. Can’t happen. Can’t happen. Will not happen. So when you trust Christ, my friend, you are saved and saved forever. I’m Dr. Englunds from, and we’re going to go to the phone lines here and take our callers.
The phone numbers are 1-800-576-3771. One 800 5763771. And I hope that you will give us a call and we will be glad to take your questions today. We have a lot of all fair questions. I hope we can get them squeezed in today between the live callers. We have Benjamin in Clearwater Florida. Benjamin, welcome to Bibleline your own here. Good morning, Dr. Hank. In first of thessalonians chapter 4, I mentioned that the church got him met Jesus in the air.
And it meant you 24, 29 to 31, say the angel come to pick up some people. We understand that different situation because one Jesus comes to prepare the children. the church and in Matthew the angel came to take those people and who they. Okay excellent question and the answer is that in Matthew 24 we’re talking about the second coming of Christ seven years after the rapture and at the rapture no angels are involved at all. It says in verse 16 for the Lord Himself shall descend.
So Christ comes by Himself and He is the one that calls us up to medium in the air and forever we will be with the Lord. But then seven years later when Christ comes back in all of His power and all of His glory, it says in verse 30 that they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power. . . . and great glory! That, of course, is not the rapture because, at the rapture, only the believers see it happen, because we’re caught up and meet the Lord high upon the atmosphere.
Nobody else even sees the event. We just simply disappear, but at the second coming, then Christ, when He comes in all His power and all His glory, according to Matthew 24, 30, He will then send forth His angels, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from the one end of Heaven to the other. They’ll all be gathered together. gather at the judgment of the nations, described in chapter 25 of Matthew, where Christ will sit on his throne right there in Jerusalem and judge the nations, and the saved, gathered here by the angels, the elect, will be placed on his right hand.
According to Matthew 13, the angels also will be sent out and gather up all the unsaved. They will be placed on his left hand. He will pronounce to those on his left hand, depart from the Eucharist and everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels, and Christ will slay all the unsaved on the entire earth. And only the saved will remain, and those elect in their human bodies are still in their mortal bodies. They haven’t died yet. They will live into the thousand year rule of Christ and be the subjects of that time.
So I hope that answers the question for you there, Benjamin. two different events here in view. So that was Benjamin and we’re now going to go to Jerry in Seftner, Florida and Jerry, welcome to Bibleline. My question is when trials were speaking about the generation that sees Israel become a nation that they shall not pass away for that takes place. Do you feel that we are that final generation and is that a set timetable according to that passage even though we know that no man knows Dave nor the howler and what he has said that we are that final generation and I’ll hang up and listen to the answer.
Thank you sir. Okay yes I believe we’re in that generation that will live to see Christ return. Actually that’s in Matthew 24 and he says learn a parable of the fig tree. Now just as Christ was rejected on Palm Sunday as he came down the slopes of the Bana Valas and entered Jerusalem and by the way just a few weeks ago we walked that very same road. I was over there in Israel with a group of people that went with me and we walked down that very road and we stopped at the traditional place where Christ stop, then overlook Jerusalem and wept over the fact that they had refused him.
He goes down the slopes, they spread palm trees, branches along the walkway and they cried out hosanna to the son of David. They recognize him as being the Messiah. He goes into the temple and they reject him and they begin to plot his death. Obviously Christ went to the across the data paper, Your Sins and Mine. We find that Jesus the next morning comes back to Jerusalem and he sees a fig tree with leaves but no fruit and he curses that fig tree and says that no fruit grew on the for a whole age and immediately the tree withered.
That was a picture of Israel now being set aside because of the rejection of Christ. But Jesus then goes on in Matthew 24 to say, when you see the fig tree blossom again, when you see it put forth leaves, you know that the return of Christ is near. And so he talks about that this generation, the one living when Israel would blossom and put forth leaves would be the generation to see Christ’s return. I believe the date is probably more likely 1967 because that’s the first time when Israel actually put forth leaves, you might say, if you were to see Israel as a plant springing up since 1948 when the branch was yet tender according to Matthew 2432 when Jesus says, Now learn a parable of the fig tree when his branch is yet tender and put forth leaves.
Then you know that summer is nigh. And so when Israel was just 19 years old in the Six Day War, that was the only time Israel expanded and perhaps we could interpret that to being that that’s when she put forth leaves and she put forth five leaves. Israel gained the go on heights, gained the West Bank. He gained Jerusalem, gained the Negev, and gained Gaza. There were five leaves that Israel put forth in 1967. If you add a generation to that, that might be the date of the Second Coming.
Jack Van Eppe computes a generation by taking the three groups of fourteen generations that spread time between Abraham and Christ that you read about in Matthew chapter 1. He takes the total number of years between Abraham and Christ, divides it by three times fourteen generations. That’s how many generations it took to get to Christ, and he comes out with fifty-one and a half years. If you add that to June 1967, that would mean the second coming of Christ would be in the year 2018.
If you subtract 7 years for the tribulation, the rapture would be in 2000, and what would it be? 2012 or 2011, somewhere in there. So I don’t know. I’m not a date setter, but certainly the rapture could be in the very near future. And this is a great parable to learn to watch. This is the Israeli nation grow up as a fig tree, now put forth leaves and becoming a nation again in their land as they have been. Thank you for that question and we appreciate that call.
We have Tony in Tampa, Florida. Tony, welcome to Bibleline you’re on there. Yes, this is regarding the rapture question. Yes sir. The word in the Greek, it’s almost pronounced the same as the English, but it’s the word that cannot be translated the atmosphere because it’s the birth of life, the Numa, the Spirit, that’s how we meet Christ. And you cannot meet Christ in the flesh, that’s all the word is expressing, that we that will be changed to meet him.
It is not the rapture. I beg to differ. You notice it talks about clouds there. Obviously the air is talking about is the air in which we see the clouds and it says we will be caught up to meet him in the air in the clouds. So it is in the upper atmosphere above the earth. Christ will come back into Satan’s territory as Satan is the prince of the power of the air. You ought to take a look at the word air there in Ephesians chapter 2 and verse 2 it says Satan is the prince of the power of the air.
He controls the atmosphere around the earth as well as the earth itself. He is the God of this world, 2 Corinthians 4 and 4, and when Jesus comes back, if he He didn’t descend into the atmosphere. Perhaps Satan would prevent this event from taking place. But Christ comes into Satan’s territory and gives us safe escort back to heaven. It’s exciting. And I believe that that’s clearly what it’s talking about. It’s the air that Satan is the prince over, the atmosphere around the earth.
it is a meeting in the clouds above the earth and then from that point on will forever be with the Lord. Thank you for that call and we now have some offer questions. Let me talk about a few of these if I can. Jackie in Pimbroke Pines calls in and says did Cain marry his sister in order to have children? is this okay? Well obviously he did. We find that Cain was married before he was banished to the land of Nod and so Cain took his wife when he was banished and he went to the land of Nod and there he had children by her and there was a number of descendants that sprang forth from Cain.
At the very beginning when Adam and Eve were created they were created They were no defects and no gene defects. And so they intermarried and there was no problem. It was not until Moses, some many years later, that God warned against intermarriage. And I think that’s because of the problem that comes from intermarriage. And today, of course, I think the human race is degenerated even further such that you You don’t even have to marry a close relative to have a problem with children being born with.
He is a man of the human race. He is a man of the human race. He is a man of the human race. He’s a man in his sin that we would really just totally mess ourselves up. In Samaria, you still have some Samaritans still living and they have been intermarrying now for centuries and centuries and that was a sad thing to see in Israel because these people are suffering all kinds of… of birth defects and that was just almost more than I wanted to see to visit this Samaritan colony in Israel where they have been for centuries and centuries in breeding.
That is why God warned against it later. Adam and Eve were perfect. There was no problem at the very beginning of intermarriage. It wasn’t until Moses that God declared that incest was wrong and that intermarity even close relatives was wrong and it was forbidden in the Bible. Many states have laws against that and Florida is one of them where you’re not to be able to marry a sister or brother or cousin. These are part of the law that all really comes out of the Bible.
Thank you for that question, Jackie. I hope that answers it and we’re glad to have you listening down there in South Florida. While the program moves along so quickly, and here we are on break time coming up. And so we’re going to go to break and come back and do a second half hour of Bibleline. And if your station doesn’t carry it, if you go to the internet, you’ll be able to catch the full program. So go to the internet if you don’t have the full program in your area.
And we’re going to come back and do a second half hour. keep your radio dial tuned right where it is and we’ll be right back in just a moment. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. Anglister and this is Bibleline and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida and it’s exciting to be able to be with you and we appreciate all of you listeners. This is May, it’s hard to believe we’re in the month of May, but if you haven’t given a gift to Bibleline, this would be a good time to give it for the month of May.
We are totally listening and supporting. We’re not really trying to ask for ourselves because all of our funds go right back into ministry. We need your help to be on the air in all the places where we are and to assure the The program continues in your area and that we can reach out further. We need your help. Yesterday, I recorded a number of segments that will be a part of the radio programs we’re going to be sending to Africa.
We’re going to be on shortwave over the whole continent of Africa. Wow, what a wonderful door of opportunity God has offered us. The air time will cost us nothing, but it is our time and it is our production of the programs and other things that will be the only cost. But otherwise, the Lord is opening great doors for Bible Island. If you want to be a part of this, and would like to reap the benefits of it, because I believe that you will share in the rewards that we will get for our labors and our efforts to get the gospel to many parts of the world where they so desperately need to hear it.
So we’re excited about taking the gospel message in Bibleline to Africa. We’ll be on 60 minutes a day throughout all of Africa on shortwave. We’re excited. Pray for us and maybe you’d like to send a gift. You can do it by mail or you can call the 800 number and give a gift by credit card over the phone. We hope that you will consider giving Bibleline a helping hand at this time and we thank you in advance for your prayers and for your gifts that keep Bibleline on the air.
God bless you and thank you so much. If you’re interested in going to Israel, please call us and get your name on a list so that we’ll keep you in touch as to our next trip to Israel. I just got a letter here from a lister out in Oklahoma and Hugo, Oklahoma and says I’ve been wanting to go to Israel and so we are hoping that maybe this family from Oklahoma will join us on this next wonderful trip. We just got back and it was great and we hope that you’ll give us a call at 1-800-576-3771.
We’re going to rejoin now the stations that have been on break and do the second half hour of Bibleline. the Bible and so keep your radio tuned right where it is and join us now for Bible and to would you like to call by the line and ask doctor lins from a question you can just pick up your phone and dial one eight hundred five seven six three seven seven one that’s one eight hundred five seven six thirty seven seventy one now here again is doctor Hank lins from all right we’re back from that break this is by the line we’re coming to live from Tampa, Florida, for our studios here at the Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida.
And we look forward to being with you every day. And we thank God that we have this opportunity to meet like this on radio. God bless all of you who pray for us and give the Bible. And you’re the ones who make all of this possible. Today’s our television day. And tonight at 6.30 Eastern time, we’re going to be on World Harvest Television. on direct TV channel 321 channel 321 I hope you’ll tune us in at 630 Eastern Standard Time people all over America see that program we get calls from the West Coast from California and Washington all the way back to Maine and Massachusetts and all the way down here to Florida all over people are seeing that program at seven o’clock we’re on the Christian television network that’s only on the West Coast of Florida and we’re seeing up and down the West
coast of Florida from Fort Myers to Crystal River over to Orlando. We certainly hope that you’ll tune us in tonight at 630 on World Harvest Television on Direct TV and at 7 o’clock on the Christian Television Network here on the West Coast of Florida. Would you join us for our TV tonight? And by the way, on the internet, you can catch our TV programs and also our worship services and they’re available. By the way, too, we also have these classes we’re doing here on a regular basis and we have those classes on DVD so you can get them on CD which is just the audio.
You could also get them on DVD and we just finished four hours so far of our new class called in time controversies about the in time debate over whether Christ has already come or whether he’s coming future. There are many who are coming out of the woodwork that are saying that Christ already came in AD 70. And there is a future coming of Christ, but there is no millennial kingdom that Christ will come back after the kingdom age or there is no millennium, there are a millennialist or at best post-millennials which says that they’ll come back at the end of the millennium.
We are going to be talking about all of that and why this is wrong and how the Bible is very clear if you take it literally that there is the next event called the Rapture and then the Tribulation, then the return of Christ to rule and reign and bring peace on this earth. If you would like to take that class you can sign up and watch it live or watch it in archive as often as you like by getting the passcode if you sign up to take that class.
But also when this class and as other classes have completed, we have the CDs and the DVDs available. We have already on DVD the class. I taught on Jesus is coming, 10 hours of teaching about the return of Christ. And then we have 10 hours of teaching available on DVD. On a class we taught 10 vital doctrines. And that was really great to cover the major doctrines of the Bible and you’ll be able to get that on CD or DVD.
We also have the class meeting the challenge which has to do with the Christian life and what God really is looking for, you, in you and me and how we can meet that challenge and accomplish it here in this world. That’s where the rewards, that’s where the blessings come in. We have 40 different classes that you can order. We hope you’ll take advantage. The favorite commentary of mine, Jameson Foset Brown, which covers a little bit on every verse of the Bible is apparently not going to be reprinted.
It’s out of print. We have some broken sets. We have Volume 1 and Volume 3, but we can’t get Volume 2. So Volume 1 covers Genesis through Esther and for a gift of $30 you can get that wonderful commentary that once they’re gone. I don’t believe you’re going to be able to get it. And then we have volume three, which is the whole New Testament. That’s really neat because for a gift of $30, you could order just the New Testament.
Isn’t that exciting? And you have this wonderful commentary which I believe is one of it is my favorite, but I believe it’s the best out there. In addition to having your Scofield Bible, the old Scofield Bible, you’ve really got it made. Why not call? And we have the old skill field available. If you go to your books through you’re not going to get it. They’re going to sell you the new hybrid which the notes have been changed. They’ve been altered and watered down.
You know, why do we have so many different new translations and why do they differ so much? And the answer is, for a publisher to get their own copyright, they have to change their translation translation of the Bible by 10% minimum to be able to get a copyright. No wonder they’re messing them up big time because each publisher is wanting to have their own copyright for their own particular exclusive Bible. And in order to get a copyright, they have to change it by 10%.
Boy, we’re in trouble, aren’t we? And that’s what’s happening with many of these modern translations that are really confusing the Bible. We have a very good book called New Age Bible Versions that deals with these different modern translations. About 20 of them are evaluated and I’ll tell you it’s scary. You really have to be careful nowadays to see that you’re not being cheated out of what God has said. And as God said in Revelation 22, we’re not to add to or take away.
Some of these have as many as 5,000 deletions. thousand deletions. Wow, that’s like taking a scissors and start cutting out parts of your Bible. Would you like to have that happen for you? Well, that’s an amazing thing. Well, I’m so glad that you listen to the Bibleline and we want to thank all of you who pray for us and give us here a call every now and then and give your questions to us over the year or or we enjoy talking with you and answering questions for you.
And I hope that you will join us every day and tell your friends. And to keep this program coming, would you give a gift for the month of May? You can do it by credit card over the phone or you can do it by mail if you just call us. We’ll send you an envelope with our address on it. We’re going to go back to the phone lines and we’ve got all of our lines lit up. And we’ll try to take your call and get these questions answered as quickly as we can.
We have Brad in Clearwater, Florida, and Brad, welcome to Bible India on the Earth. Good morning, Pastor Armstrong. I have a question for you. I was wondering if another is going to be mass confusion in the… after the rapturo and I was wondering if there’s possibly a gud could arrange that where… Where sea air and traffic would all be at ground level and stop as opposed to having a calamity. I’ll hang up and listen to your response by reading.
Wait, wait one second, man. I’m not too sure I understood that question. I understood that question. Would you repeat that? I think he didn’t hear my response here. I’m not too sure what he was saying there. And so, Brad, I’m so sorry that you’re going to have to call back. I just didn’t understand your question. We’re going to go to Bill in Tampa, Florida, and Bill, welcome to Bibleline You’re on the year. Yes. Dr. Lynch? Yes. Yes. I had a question.
First off, thank you for your ministry. If may God bless you and all that help you with the ministry here. I’ve heard you speak numerous times on repentance. That seems to be a popular topic here. I wonder if you can help me second chronicles fit into. I can listen off the air for your free life. All right. Let me head back there for you, Bill, in second chronicles, Chapter 7. And certain second chronicles occurs right after first chronicles. I’m almost there as I move back through my Bible.
Verse 14, this is a popular one. I think there’s a song written about it and everything where it says, If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways. Then will I hear from heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land. First of all, this verse is generally taken terribly out of context. The My People here is Israel and it is the Jewish people. And it says here, if they would humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then he would forgive their sin and heal their land.
And this has to do with earthly, forgiveness here as the Jewish people because they did not were cast off of the land in 8070 as the Romans came against Jerusalem and the greatest slaughter of Jews outside of what Hitler did occurred then in 8070 and the ones that were left living were sold on the slave market and sent out throughout all the world so the Jews have been dispersed But they’re coming back to their land now. And we know that there’s going to be an awakening among the Jewish people after the rapture that the blinders will come off their eyes and many, many, many Jews will come to know Christ.
And they will actually find the fulfillment of this passage here where if my people which are called by my name, you know the name Israel comes from three Hebrew words, ish-rah-el. it means child of God. And Jacob was the first Israelite when he actually wrestled with the angel of the Lord. He was wrestling with Jesus. And that night he got saved and God renamed him from Jacob to Israel, which when he was a child of God. And the Bible tells us in Romans, not everybody who is an ascendant of Jacob or Israel is Israel.
What it’s saying is that just because you’re physically descendant from Jacob doesn’t mean you’re a believer. But all those that are of the faith of Jacob who trusted in Jesus that night as he wrestled with Jesus, become born again and become a child of God. So it is that the true Israel of Jacob’s descendants are those that have trusted Jesus Christ as are Savior. And we know that most of the Jews right now in the state of Israel are not saved, they are unbelievers, but after the Rapture the skills come off and many of them will become saved.
In fact, probably one third according to Malachi of the Jews in the state of Israel will become saved and they will obviously call upon the name of the Lord and they will say blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord and the Lord will come back. This is the prayer I think that will be fully fulfilled by them. But many of course, play it by application. I guess by application you can apply it to the U.S.
of A. and tell us that if we would pray and so on and humble ourselves that God would restore the United States, and I think that’s an application and possibly we could say that, but technically Bill, the meaning is this is the people that are descendant of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and here we We have God telling Israel that they needed to pay attention. He says in verse 13, If I shut up heaven and there be no rain, or if I command the locust and devour the land, or if I send pestilence against my people, those are judgments that would come against Israel in the land because of their sin.
In verse 14, If they would only pray and turn to the Lord and stop their wicked practices, would heal their land and restore them and we believe that is coming. He’s already cast them off the land for the past two thousand years. He’s now brought them back in preparation for them to see this prophecy fulfilled. Thank you, Bill. I hope that answers the question for you. We have Nadine in Ohio calling in. He says, I keep hearing about a movement called the Emergent Church.
I don’t understand what it is, but I get the feeling it’s something to stay away from. And absolutely I would do that. It is a combination of mysticism, new age, ideology, and a return to Rome. And these are some of the building blocks of the emerging church. Emerging church actually will become, I believe, the Church of the Tribulation period, the church that will be and remember when the Rapture happens all believers are snatched out so it will be Really ripe and ready to be controlled by the Antichrist and according to Revelation 17 The emerging church will ultimately Be a tool to help the rise of the Antichrist to power and then the and in the Antichrist will turn on the church and destroy it midway through the tribulation period.
Hope that helps a little bit. Anonymous in Clearwater calls in, leaves this off their question. Were Adam and Eve saved? Answer is yes. In Genesis 2, 20, it talks about, or chapter 3 verse 20, it talks about Adam’s faith. It says he named Eve, Eve is a word that means mother of all living. Now when he named his wife, Eve, they had not yet had any children. And yet he talks about in faith that she would have children and she would be the mother of all living.
Now what Adam had heard just a little bit ago, if you look at Genesis 3.15, it says that God made a promise that the Redeemer, the Saviour, would come of the lineage of Adam and Eve and would be the seed of the woman or Eve. So he believed the Saviour would come through Eve. And so that’s how he named her that. As a result, the very next verse says that then God clothed Adam and Eve with coats of skins of animals.
That was a picture of Jesus being slain for you and for me. An innocent animal had to be slain. Its blood had to be shed, and its skin, or its coat, became the covering that covered Adam and Eve. Now, in the same way,Parents when you trust Christ, he was innocent and was slain. His blood was shed, and his righteousness becomes our covering and becomes the garment of salvation that makes us eligible to enter heaven. So hopefully that answers the question.
I believe we see Adam and Eve’s salvation pictured to us in Genesis 3, 20, and 21, especially in the picture of God taking an instant animal, shedding its blood, and then using that animal skin to cover them a picture of what Christ would do when he would die on the cross for you and for me. We have Stacy in Land of Lakes, Florida. Stacy, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yes, I had a question about Satan being bound during the thousand-year reign.
Sure. In Revelation I read that it was Satan that was bound, but I was under the impression that his angels, the demons, also would be bound. But a question arose, maybe that’s how the generation ends up failing and becoming unsaved in the thousand years. Is Satan and the demon bound or just Satan? No, Satan and his angels are bound in the bottomless pit, which is Hades is the heart of the earth. And it’s at the end of the millennium he’s loosed for just a little season.
I think just to expose the fact that many who have become born during that tribulation, rather than that millennial kingdom will not trust the Lord because of the wickedness of the human heart. And so people won’t be able to say in all ages past that it was the devil who made them do it because we know that in the millennium, even with him bound and not available to deceive people, people will still reject the Lord. And I think it’s Jeremiah 17, 9 in action, where it says the heart of the mind or the old nature that we have is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked and so the human nature such that even under ideal conditions with Christ visibly being seen in ruling over the earth and his word going out to the ends of the earth and the earth at peace and Satan and his angels bound
that people will still reject the Lord do you know the scripture of him that that the angels are bound that I could reference to others? That I can’t think of at the top of my head. I know Matthew 2541 always puts them together. Satan and his angels are like a… always go hand in hand. But we… I think it is implied in a couple places. I’ll have to think about that. Well, thank you so much. And definitely they are bound though because the Satanic influence would not cease if only he were bound as angels would carry out the mission.
But they are bound as well. And I think there is a verse that we could probably find for that. Maybe one of our listeners will come up with it and bring it back at us. We have Edgar in Petersburg, Virginia. Ed, you’re welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hello, Dr. Angus, a blessing to hear your voice over the airwaves again. For my question, it’s in St. John 1428. And I want to ask you to render your exposition when Christ said for my…
for my father is greater than I. Well, it’s talking about him as far as a man is concerned. Jesus is God and he’s a man. He’s the God, God man. And as a man, He is greater, the Father is greater than Christ. But it doesn’t say that the Father is better than Christ. They’re both sinless. And Christ is, as it says in Philippians 2, thought it out robbery to be equal with God. And so being equal with God is clearly the point that we’re not making here.
Greater only in the sense that Jesus as a man was not the same as God the Father who has all power in his hands. But yet we find that Jesus was God at the same time. The fascinating thing that the Bible says without controversy, great is the mystery of godliness. That God was manifest in a human body. That will fully comprehend it one day, but Jesus is God and man, and as a man, he prayed to God as his father.
Obviously, you don’t pray to someone less than you or equal to you. You pray to someone greater than you in Christ as a man, He prayed to God the Father, but yet at the same time he was God, so he was equal with God. Now the witnesses, the Job’s witnesses, recognize that the humanity of Christ, they focus on these very teachings, but they fail to recognize his deity, whereas Christ is obviously God and the claim is there. In John 824, Christ said that if you don’t believe that I am, which is the very name of God from Exodus 3 when God appeared to Moses at the burning bush, then Christ says you’re going to die in your sins.
So we find that definitely Jesus is God and man at the same time. Thank you for calling in Edgar from Petersburg, Virginia. Irene in Inglewood, Florida calls in and she says, you say that the Spirit goes to be with the Lord when we die. Where does the soul go? Same place. The soul and spirit, although separate and distinct, are never separated. So where the soul goes, the spirit goes, and where the spirit goes, the soul goes. Where does the body go?
It usually is placed in a grave, and will disintegrate and go back to become dust from which it came. But if it’s burn up or cremated or if you die at sea and the sharks eat your body, it doesn’t really matter. We have a brand new body waiting for us according to 2 Corinthians 5-1 that when we die and go to heaven when the Lord returns at the event of the Rapture, He’ll give us that brand new body. So we’ll be complete again as a Trinity, a body, soul and spirit.
But the soul and spirit go to heaven immediately upon death and they’re never separated. Okay, we have here in the spring hill for her. She calls in and says, can you please explain in the Jewish marriage process so believers can understand the bride of Christ. How the father sends him for the bride when the time is right. You see the picture back there in Genesis 24 where Abraham sends out his eldest servant, Eliezer, to a far land to pick out a bride for his son Isaac.
And we have the Holy Spirit during this age pictured by Eliezer going into a far country that’s the planet Earth, where he’s getting a bride together for his son Jesus. So when Jesus comes, ah… He is the first to meet that bride in the air. The Holy Spirit will be taken out according to 2 Thessalonians 2. And when he is taken up, we go up and he will be presenting the bride to Christ. And then Christ in heaven over the next seven years will become married to him and come back with him and the earth will celebrate for a thousand years the marriage of Christ, the lamb to his bride which is the church.
Hopefully that helps a little bit, but it’s a beautiful picture that it’s not the right time obviously yet, but when the time is right, then we’re going to find that the bride will be brought by the Holy Spirit to meet Christ in the air. All right, this is Dr. England Sherman. We’ve had fun meeting with you today. I hope you’ve enjoyed Bibleline as we come to you live from Tampa, Florida. and our studios here at the Calvary Community Church. Pray for us, we’re excited about going back to Israel, this coming fall, maybe begin next spring, if you wanna be on the list, so that we’ll keep you informed as to our plans, give us a call and leave your name and number, and we’ll keep you updated as we make our plans.
We hope that it will work so that you could go along with us. Also, pray for us as we have a door open to Africa on shortwave and we are in the process right now putting those programs together to be broadcast over the entire continent of Africa on shortwave. Most people in the world are listening on shortwave except here in America. But it’s a wonderful tool where we can reach so many and we’re going to pray for Bible and pray for the many stations that we’re on right now and for the different opportunities we have through the internet to be able to get the gospel message out and we hear from people who are being reached and are blessed by the programs.
We need your help though to continue that and it’s your gifts that keep Bibleline on the air. If you haven’t given a gift for the month of May, would you consider giving a gift? No gift is too small. But if you could give a generous gift, it It would be very helpful to us to be able to make sure that this program continues in your area and that we are able to expand out and reach out to others so that the gospel gets out to the world.
I think we are living close to the Lord’s return. I wouldn’t be surprised if Christ came this year. I am not saying he is and I am not a date center, but truly we are to be watching, looking for his return, and obviously if he had already come and the second coming has passed, then we wouldn’t be looking to the future. He’s coming first at the Rapture to stench us out. Then he will come back and rule and reign seven years later on this earth for a thousand years.
We’ve got to run, keep looking up, we’ll be back tomorrow, and join me then. Jesus is coming. You’ve been listening to Bibleline, a presentation of Bibleline Ministries of Tampa, Florida.
