Good morning and welcome to Bibleline. Great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning in to the broadcast. We look forward to being with you each and every day and we’re here Monday through Friday live out of Tampa where we come to you from our Studios here at the Calvary Community Church where I’m the pastor.
Look forward to being with you every day And I hope that you look forward to being with Bibleline. We have some wonderful comments from our listeners He was talking to a fellow from New York yesterday and he said that every day they listened to Bibleline up there and are enjoying the program. So this is great. We had another fellow come by yesterday and he just came by to say I want you to know that two years ago he had trusted Christ through Bibleline.
And these are obviously words of encouragement. If you would like to hear Bibleline anytime of day you can go to the internet Bibleline and you’ll catch the programs 24-7. 147 countries have logged on. You can actually get by blind from anywhere in the world. You know, when you look at the map and we see all the countries that have logged on, we’re talking about Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, the Pacific Islands, the Cook Islands, the McCaw Islands, the Solomon Islands, Solomon Islands and also from even Beijing and Taiwan and throughout all of the continent of Asia.
We have many from South America, most South American countries have logged on and everything in the Middle East, almost all of the Muslim countries have logged on and of course all over Europe, South America, Central America and of course the United States. all over the world, the only continent that we haven’t had log on is Antarctica. And I don’t know how many people listen on the internet down there. But anyway, you certainly can go to BibleLineMinistries.org. You can catch our radio programs by clicking on the spinning globe.
You can click on the TV set and get our TV programs. You can click on the camera and get our worship services. So you can really watch our Sunday service live on Sunday mornings and you can also catch it in our time throughout the week. There’s lots of Sunday messages sitting there waiting for you. We just finished the class in time controversy. That’s now available on CD and DVD and you can get all 10 hours of teaching on that topic for a gift of $50 plus shipping and also you can get the DVD version if you like.
We have about 40 different presentations you can get. By the way, you might want to get our Sunday messages. For a gift of $30 a month, you can get all the Sunday messages sent to you on CD. And we’re going to be having all the titles, I think, up on the internet site where you can look on the online bookstore and find the titles. And order individually or you can actually order the whole year of 2006. That’s available as a block of 52 CDs or 52 hours of teaching from the pulpit.
We also have many great things in our resource, including Bibles. We have the Scofield Bible, which is getting more difficult to get in the old Scofield, which is the one you really would want to get. So let me encourage you to get one while you can. If you go to your Christian bookstore, they probably won’t have it because they sell the new hybrid, which I don’t like at all, and the old school feel you really have to get them to order it if they can find it, and it’s getting more difficult all the time.
We’re going to go to the Bible. We’ll be then taking our callers. If you’d like to call in, you can at 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. We hope that you will. The Bible is the inspired Word of God and we believe it from cover to cover. I even believe the cover. It says Holy Bible. We truly have not a book full of holes, but a holy Bible written by a Holy God who is the author of Scripture. You know, it tells us over in Second Peter about how we got our Bible.
Peter wrote two epistles, which by the way are hated by the liberal theologians because he covered topics that are so significant and are sensitive to liberal theologians who reject inspiration, reject miracles, reject the Bible as being the Word of God. And Peter spends time in both of his epistles telling us how the Bible is really God’s word. He tells us in 2 Peter, if you have your Bible open, in chapter 1 and verse 20, he says, knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
What does that mean? It means it’s not of a by itself interpretation. In other words, you can’t just lift passages out of the Bible and therefore make the Bible say what you want it to say. You have to read the verses in the context of the verse and of the passage and in the context of the whole Bible. For example, if you lift a passage out of its context, you could really prove atheism. That’s right. The Bible actually says there is no God.
Did you know that? Yeah. Psalm 14.1. Look it up. God. But if you read the whole verse, it says a full say of in his heart, there is no God. Now you get the full picture. A full says there is no God, but that’s why we can’t lift verses or parts of verses out and try to make them stand on their own. Peter says that’s a first principle in interpreting the Bible. We have to take the whole verse or the whole context of the verse to be able to come up with the right interpretation.
Then in verse 21 of 2 Peter chapter 1, Peter tells us for the prophecy or scripture came not in old time by the will of man. What it’s saying there is that none of the writers of the Bible ever sat down and said, I think I’m in a right scripture. Maybe I’ll be famous. Maybe He held, my name will live on forever. None of them ever just sat down with pen and hand, deciding that they were just going to write scripture.
They all spoke as they were commanded to speak by the Lord Himself, who is the author of scripture. Let me give you an example. In Jeremiah chapter 30, we find it says in verse 1, and this is so typical throughout the Old Testament, the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord saying, so notice what Jeremiah I write down is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord saying, verse 2, thus speaketh the Lord God of Israel saying, write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book.
So here you notice he is told by the Lord to write down the all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book. So here Jeremiah is told to write down what he is hearing. And also John the Apostle who wrote five New Testament books, the Gospel of John, three epistles of John, and the book of Revelation. In chapter 1 he hears a voice and he turns and he sees Jesus as he will be in his second coming.
And Jesus tells him right and he tells him right the things which thou hast seen and the things which are and the things which shall be hereafter. That’s the threefold division of the book of Revelation, given in Revelation 119. And he’s told to write. And you see that several times throughout the book where God tells him, write, write, write down what you are seeing, what you have seen, what you are seeing, and what is to come that you are seeing as he was, I believe, transported into the future to see the future.
That’s just one example. Obviously, the apostles wrote the New Testament and the prophets gave us the Old Testament, but God himself is the author. So we find in 2 Peter, chapter 1, verse 21 that the prophecy or scripture came not in old time by the will of man. It did not come about because one of these fellows decided to sit down and write scripture. It goes on to say, but holy men of God, and that means they were saved.
Holy means righteous. And did you know that every believer is righteous? God did not use any unsaved people in writing the Bible. Every one of them were saved. And therefore because they were saved and because they trusted Christ, he obviously calls them holy because the believer is credited with God’s righteousness at the moment of I believe. Let me just quote to you 2 Corinthians 521, which I love so much, that God made Christ to be sin for us, Christ who knew no sin that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.
What a great verse. It’s saying that your sins, my sins, were laid by God upon Christ at the cross. Christ who was sinless was now made to be sin for us. that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. This is the substitution of payment. This is the exchange that took place at the cross, your sins for God’s righteousness. And so when you trust Christ, God sees you no longer as a sinner condemned by your sin, but He sees you as righteous based upon what Christ has done for you.
This is such an amazing and wonderful truth. Those that believe you can lose your salvation see heaven seen that God has declared righteous the believer. Once you are declared righteous by God, you are considered God’s child forever and you can never be lost. You can obviously enter heaven because you have God’s righteousness. Anything short of that, anything that really is the result of your works will not get you into heaven. Trust Christ in order to be saved. So here we are in 2nd Peter 1 verse 21, and we learned that the writers of the Bible were saved then.
They were holy men or righteous men, and the only way you can become righteous is by belief. Abraham, Genesis 15 verse 6, Abraham believed God, and in the context it’s about Jesus, the seed that would come of his of his loins, that Jesus would come and he believed that promise about Jesus and it says and this was counted to him for righteousness. So Abraham became righteous by believing on Christ as it says in Galatians 3 8, the Scriptures foreseeing that God would justify the nations through faith preached before the gospel unto Abraham.
He goes on here to say but holy men of God, that saved men spaked as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. So here we learn the Holy Spirit as the author, but the word moved there means that they were guided by, directed by, super intended by, overseen by. And so it was the Holy Spirit that directed these prophets and apostles in giving us the scripture. He was the author, but he used men as a vessel or tool and instrument to bring about the Word of God.
And it says here that as they were moved and the Greek word means to guide or direct or oversee, to superintend, God watched over his Word as he gave it to us through these prophets and the apostles and it says here this was the Holy Spirit who is the author of scripture that did that. So we know that all scripture is given by inspiration of God according to the Bible. Later in chapter 3 of 2 Peter, Peter says in verse 2 that we are to be mindful of the words W-O-R-D-S which were spoken before by the Holy prophets, that’s the Old Testament, of the commandment of us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior, that’s the New Testament.
Here Peter in one wonderful verse, in 2 Peter 3, 2, tells us that we are to be mindful of the entire Bible, the Old Testament and the New Testament, both are to be believed. It’s interesting that a lot of Christians ignore the Old Testament. Oh my goodness, what a big mistake that is. The Bible is so rich from cover to cover and you don’t want to miss any part of it. And the Old Testament and the New Testament are both to be read and studied and Peter tells us to be mindful of the words of the ORDS which were spoken before by the Holy Prophets and of the command of us the apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ.
That’s the Old of New Testaments. And we already were told by Peter that these men who gave us the Bible were saved men, not writing from their own will or their own heart what they wanted to say, but they were holy men, directed by, guided by, moved by, super intended by the Holy Spirit, who truly is the author of the Bible. And you know, this is a book therefore we can count on. And I believe we can take it literally.
intended for us to do that and you see how literal the Bible is when Christ will base a whole argument as you read in the Gospels on the tenths of a verb or on whether a noun is singular or plural. I mean we’re talking about really technical stuff and that could not be if he did not intend for us to take it literally. The best news I ever heard was the good news that eternal life was a gift received by simple faith in trusting Jesus as Savior.
I was 18 when I discovered for the first time eternal life was a gift, that it was not of works, and that it was by simply trusting in what Christ did for me at the cross. cross. By his death and shed blood he purchased my salvation and God offered it to me free as a gift. And I said, God, I’ll take you up on your gift of salvation. I trusted Jesus as Savior. I walked out of that teenage meeting that I was in at 18 and I knew that I was saved.
I knew I was going to heaven. Not because of a feeling, not because somebody told me I was, but I saw it in the Scripture that whosoever believeth in Christ should not perish but have everlasting life. Because I trusted that Christ perished in my place, I therefore will not perish according to John 3 16, but I will possess presently at the moment of belief everlasting life. So I’ve had everlasting life until now from the time I was 18 when I trusted Christ.
receive eternal life not after you die but while you’re living at the moment you trust Christ. I hope you’ve done that. It’s the most important decision you’ll ever make. I’m Dr. Englunds from this is Bible and we’re gonna go to the phone lines. We certainly hope you will call in with your question if you have one and we’ll do our best to try to answer that question for you. We have Patty who calls in off air and asks this question.
She’s calling from Tampa, Florida and Patty Thank you for calling in and leaving this offer question. How do I react to the anti-Christian statements made by my friend who claims to be a pagan? Well, I think you need to think of some ways to get her attention and tell her perhaps that if she’s wrong, if she is wrong that you’ve lost nothing in trusting Christ. And if you’re right, then she’s lost everything because she’ll wind up in hell. If you’re right, then she’s lost everything.
But if she’s right, then you’ve really lost nothing. Because if you have trusted Christ, you’re going to go to heaven. But if she is wrong and hasn’t trusted Christ, then she’ll be lost forever. Anyway, I would use some statements that would cause her to lose some sleep and tell that she’s in trouble. That unbelief doesn’t change the truth of heaven and hell and the fact that there’s only one way to get there and that’s your trusting Christ as Savior.
Gus in Clearwater, Florida, leaves this off-air question. In John chapter 3, Jesus talks about the wind blowing and is this the the Holy Spirit. No, the wind is not the Holy Spirit. He’s saying that you can’t see wind, but you can see the effects of wind. For example, a tornado can tear up a whole town as we’ve seen recently on the news. And you can’t see the wind. Sometimes in a tornado you can see the things that the wind has picked up and is blowing around, but you actually don’t see the wind.
In the same way, he’s saying that the Holy Spirit is a spirit and we can’t see the Holy Spirit, but we can see the effects of the Holy Spirit, just like we can see the effects of wind. Ofer Frank in Tampa, Florida, what is your appraisal of the Holman Christian Standard Bible? I like the way it reads, but again, they have deletions like so many of the others, and that disappoints me. So you have to be careful. It’s interesting.
I’ve learned that in order for a publishing company to have a copyright, they have to change about 10% of the Bible to be able to have an exclusive copyright. That’s why we have so many deletions, so many changes in our Bibles out there and you really need to take a look at how much you’re getting in the way of a Bible that has deleted things. Some of the newer translations have as many as 5,000 deletions. You might want to get the book that we have here in our Resource Center, New Age Bible versions which really exposes about 20 of the modern translations and the changes and deletions that they’ve made.
The NIV drops 44 verses in their entirety. And in addition, many thousands of other smaller deletions. You don’t want to buy a whole bit cheat you out of what it has. Well, we are going to go to some live callers. Now we have Jacqueline I believe in Pittsburg, Virginia and welcome to Bibleline. Yes, Mr. Pastor. My name is Sen. Yury, and I hope you understand my Spanish. I want to wish you a happy Memorial Day, you and your church.
I wish you what I listened to you and something in the Navy, one in the Marines, for this country. I’d rather fight over there than fight over here. So, if we have to fight Islamic over here, you know it because of Abraham and the leaders in India with Hagar to destroy it. Yes. I will certainly pray and that’s a good reminder. Monday is Memorial Day and we certainly want to remember all of our servicemen and women and of course your children as well back then.
Well, God bless you. God bless you and go Gators. You know, hey man, I’m glad that you say one staple. We say always believe that, I believe that once you see because you choose a lot of Jesus to cover us as long as we get on a knee. I think a great job. As soon as I would comment after 90 days I might have to give me some deal and thank you for the Bible I’m in the book or job after I’ve finished the Bible Not prepare English and Spanish and it’s great.
God bless you man. Have a nice weekend up for you. You take care Thank you for that call and we now have angel in Tampa, Florida. I’m not too sure What line is on because I’m mixed up here that? We’re now going to go to I had the wrong person. That was Angel that we were talking to. Now we’re going to go to Jacqueline in Petersburg. I believe that’s in Virginia. Welcome to Bibleline. Good morning, Jasmine. Good morning. I just want to say thank God for you and your very blessing, continuing in ministry.
I have two questions. The first one is on, show me in the Bible if you can, the Bible knowledge where they say that women can reach the gospel to the world. First Timothy chapter 2, verse 11 and 12, could you please explain those coming? I’m going to hang up and I can hear you on the radio. Hi. Thank you very much about women preaching the word of God. In Timothy it tells us, and And this is an amazing verse, and of course it’s not popular to talk about this today with women becoming pastors and teachers.
But the Bible says in 1 Timothy chapter 2, verse 11, let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. Verse 12 says, I suffered not a woman to teach, and this is really teaching God’s Word. They are not to teach God’s word nor to usurp authority over the man but to be in silence. So what we have is that God has basically given the spiritual responsibility to men. He chose twelve apostles that were all men. He could have chosen women but he didn’t.
And we find that throughout the Bible it was men. The deacons were men and so on. The pastors’ elders were men, and Jesus himself was a man. It tells us the reasons why in verse 13 for Adam was first formed, then Eve. We have here Adam was first in order. There is obviously order and structure with God, because man was created first. He was given the spiritual responsibility to lead the family and to be the spiritual leader in the church and the family and so on.
Also a second reason given here is in verse 14 where it says, Adam was not deceived but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Men and women are created differently and apparently because women think more emotionally, men think more factually, women have a tendency to be more easily deceived. Satan knew that. And he went after Eve when she was alone apart from her husband. And when he had her alone, he deceived her. Adam was not deceived. He knew plainly what the facts were.
God had told him not to eat at the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. And so we find that women are more likely to be deceived. You know, a lot of the cults were started by women. I think that’s the reason why. LNG white. Thank you for your attention. See women generally being very clear as Bible teachers. Many of them step up to the plate to do it. But for example, one that’s very popular across America, K.
Arthur, believes you can lose your salvation. And that’s terribly wrong. And to believe you can lose your salvation is really a heresy. That’s to say that you really have to… to save yourself by living your Christian life out faithfully. And at the end, if you do so, you’ll go to heaven. That’s works. And it makes you the Savior, not Christ. And so I just don’t see any doctrinally sound women Bible teachers and God borns against this. So the men are to have that responsibility.
And because men think more factually, they’re less likely to steer away from the Bible. But today we’re living in a time of apostasy and we see so much departure from the word and that’s Sad about our time but women more so so God says no women are not to be Bible teachers and Thank you for that call and probably not the popular answer you want to hear We’re gonna go to break and do a second half hour of Bible and just a minute so don’t go away Stay tuned right where you are the Bible and we’llmonton be right back Don’t go away Bibleline will be back in a moment.
Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Alright, I’m Dr. Englund Stremen. This is Bibleline and it’s wonderful to be able to be with you. And thank you for your prayers and thank you for your support. It is because of you, the listener, that we are able to be on the air. May is a fast going here and if you’d like to be a part of this ministry for the month of May, we would appreciate that very much. We could use your help and if you could send a gift to Bibleline by mail, that would be wonderful or you could give it by credit card over the phone.
In any case, you can call the 800 number 1-800-576-3771 and our operators will be You can send an envelope with our address already on it and or you can give a gift directly by credit card over the phone. We hope that you’re enjoying my blind every day and taking advantage of the program. Maybe as a tool to reach others, get your friends to listen. If you have friends in another part of the country, tell them about the website and how they can listen to the radio, watch the TV, actually watch our worship services online on the internet. Also take a look at our online bookstore, Resource Center, and you’ll find there’s a lot of things there that will be helpful to you.
And of course we want to go to Israel again next year. Maybe April 1st, we’re kind of talking about what we’re going to do and where we’re going to go. And if you would like to be a part of that, I’d love to have you go. It’ll be trip number 15 for me. And what we need is your name and your phone number and we’ll keep you abreast of our plans and hopefully it will work with your plans so you can join us for this trip to Israel.
We just finished 10 hours of teaching on a class called In-Time Controversy. It’s amazing today that the return of Christ at the Rapture is being told or being told by some popular teachers that it’s already happened. It’s not going to happen. There is no Rapture. This is a sad sad day when we are robbed of the blessed hope the New Testament talks about which is the return of Christ to take us believers out. As we face these difficult times in which we live, I believe we are very close to the Lord’s Return, but to tell us that He is not coming, the above of the look is really terribly wrong.
You will find this class will be very helpful in understanding how this all came about, Why it’s still out there and what is wrong with the Hermonitics or the interpretation of the Bible by these folks that do that and how you can defend your position. So I hope you’ll do that. Your lens from a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back for that break and this is Bibleline.
We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church where I’m the pastor. Again, we look forward to being with you each and every day. I hope that you’ll join us every day or as often as you can. Of course, if you can’t catch the program when we come on the air on your radio station, you can catch us on the internet any time of day or night at BibleLineMinistries.org.com. I hope you will do that.
We are looking forward to meeting our listeners and if you have a chance to come by during the week, you can find our Resource Center open. I hope that we’ll get a chance to meet you and that you’ll get a chance to meet us. That would be wonderful If not, maybe on a worship day a Wednesday or a Sunday Sunday morning or Sunday evening you’re welcome to come and join us for Worship and all those worship times are there on the Internet if you don’t live in the area where you can just drive in Whenever you come to Florida if you come to the west coast of Florida make sure We’re just a block from the Tampa International Airport.
Easy to find. Take that extra minute or so and just stop off on your way wherever you’re going and knock on our door and say hello and let us get a chance to meet you. I know many have been doing that and it’s exciting to get to meet our listeners face to face and shake hands and be able to become acquainted. We’d love to have you do that. We have finished our Tuesday night class that was available now on CD or DVD and that is the in-time controversy about the return of Christ.
My friend, it is still future and you certainly will become informed as to how to defend your position on the fact that Christ is coming and coming soon by getting this series on DVD or CD call in and you can order that or if you, one just called and inquire about that and we’d love to have you get it. You know, there’s a lot of times sometimes you’re in your car, you’re traveling to an infrow to work or maybe going on a vacation.
We’ve got several that are leaving on vacations and trips and they get a bunch of CDs and they listen to and fro while they’re traveling and find out that it just really makes the trip very enjoyable. God’s Word as they travel. So we have our Sunday sermons available. You can get really all of the year 2006, all of the year 2005, and of course now all the way up here till the end of May. If you would like to subscribe, you can get each month sent to you on a regular basis.
For a gift of $30, you’ll get the CDs of the Sunday messages delivered here by myself here at the Calvary Community Church and you will be able to enjoy those as you go about your business or in your home or in your car wherever you go. We hope that you’ll let us know. If you’d like to go to Israel, I just came back trip number 14. The next trip will be trip number 15 for me and we’ll try to leave I think around April 1st.
We’d like to get your name and number so we can keep you acquainted with our plans and hopefully we can match up with your plans and that you’d be able to go with. It would be wonderful if we could do that. So give us a call and get your name on the list with your phone number and we’ll keep you informed. We also have certainly a lot of things on our website that we’d like to have you look at.
Not only can you hear the radio programs, watch the television programs, watch our worship services. You can take the classes online on the internet and you can also of course go to our online bookstore and we have articles that I’ve written questions I’ve answered so much that the website will keep you really informed and busy certainly all the time. We’re going to go to the callers in just a moment. That phone number is 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. And by the way, you can call in and leave an off-air question or you can call in and get up on the air with us and ask your question.
We would love to talk to you. So keep that in mind and give us a call and we will try to answer your question. If you haven’t helped Bibleline this month with may, would you consider before the month is out sending a gift to Bibleline? No gift is too small. We appreciate every gift that is sent. If you could give a generous gift that would really help us to clear out the month of Maine, come out even, and we could use your help.
Certainly we are dependent upon our listeners because… We don’t have any other means of support. We don’t have any pledges. We don’t have any subscribers. We simply have listeners who love the Lord and want to see this program continue. So give us a call and our prayers will be glad to send you an envelope with our address printed on it or take your gift over the phone by credit card. Whatever you’d like to do, they’ll be glad to help you with that.
We now want to go to the phone lines. We have Darnell in Petersburg, Virginia, and Darnell. Welcome to by one. How you doing dr. Hank good? All right. I have two things the first thing is when um With Mary seeing Jesus and she he told her not to touch her because he hadn’t went to the father yet And um, why was she able to touch it and how come later on? He asked him, you know He told Thomas the touching and he had you know the scriptures not letting us know that he had already been ahead And another thing dealing with women teaching, why did Paul send Apollo’s to Priscilla and Aquila and I’m going to listen off the lines.
Oh, and another, I want to talk to one of your people so I can send some money to y’all. All right. I’ll have our operator pick you up on the line right now. Anyway, certainly the, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, policy and the Aquila, I think the, uh, uh, certainly the Aquila was not the teacher, of the passage that he was a parent of the spokesperson, but they were a husband and wife.
And so they’re mentioned together, but he was, I think, the spokesperson there for God. We sure appreciate you calling in, Darnell, and hopefully you will continue to listen and ask your questions here on the air. I think I missed that first question, but now we’ll have to get that back from you in just a minute maybe my prayer and I’ll give it to you or give it to me and I’ll catch that. We’re not going to go to Sally and Sally is in Tampa for it.
Sally, welcome to Bibleline Your Own Year. Yes, sir. I love your show. God bless you. And the question I have today is concerning prayer. And when I am praying to Father God, it’s my understanding that I pray through His Son, Jesus Christ, to Him. Is that a correct understanding? Absolutely. Christ is the mediator. First Timothy 2.5 says there’s one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. So we pray to the Father through Jesus and in the direction that the Holy Spirit gives us.
scripture as we want to pray scripturally so that we get yes answers. Okay, that helps me a great deal. Thank you so much and again, God bless you. All right, you sure were welcome. Thank you, Sally, for calling in from Tampa. We have Jerry in Turkey Creek, Florida, leaves this offer question. Please explain Hebrews 6, 4, or 6. A lot of people have been confused over that. over that, what he is talking about here is not how to be saved or losing your salvation.
He is talking about a believer who slips away or falls away or drifts away from serving the Lord. And what he is saying there is it is impossible for you to go back and become saved again. The reason why is because you are saved forever when you first trust Christ as your Savior. And verse 1 talks about not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works. So salvation is when you recognize, you change your mind about works and realize that works can’t save you at all.
And you simply trust Christ. And when you make that change of mind to trust Christ and not trust yourself or works to save you, God saves you. But then if you get away from serving the Lord, you can’t go back and become saved again because you’re already saved. And if you attempt to, then you’re putting Christ to an open shame and you’re crucifying Him all over again to yourself. So if you notice the context, he says in verse 9 that he’s talking about things that accompany salvation.
In verse 10 he says, God is not unrighteous to forget your labor of love. So whatever works you do for Christ are going to be rewarded and he’s encouraging the believer Not to go back and try to become saved again, but to go on and serve the Lord again. And that will bring about reward and God is not going to forget your works of love and your labor for Christ. Now, if it meant you could lose it, it would be saying that you could never get it back.
I remember one lady in particular that I spoke to and she said that she had lost her salvation seven times and I thought I was interesting but anyway we went to this verse and I read it the way she interpreted it and I said I put on my sad face and I said, you know, I feel terribly, terribly bad for you. This verse says, if it means what you say it means, that it’s impossible for you now that you have lost your salvation for you to ever go back and become saved again.
So this verse says that you’re lost and you can never become saved again. So you’re going to hell. There’s nothing I can do, nothing you can do, nothing your church can do. You’re just forever lost. All you She changed her tune real quick. She said she came close to losing her salvation on seven occasions. This verse says, if you interpret it wrong, that if you lost your salvation, you could never ever become the same. Again, you would automatically go to hell.
That’s certainly not true. It’s talking about not loss of salvation. You know, you go to chapter 10, and there it tells us in verse 14, by one offering, Christ had perfected forever Those that are sanctified. So when you trust Christ, you’re perfected forever and you cannot be lost, but you can fall away from serving the Lord. Peter uses the praise, but he says we can fall from our steadfastness. In Hebrews it talks about falling from our confidence. And of course this is what the Bible is talking about.
The believer can never fall from salvation. You’ll never find a verse that teaches that. I hope that helps. If you go online to my website, bottleignministries.orgio.com, you’ll find there under Dr. Lynch from Zarticles, an article called Hebrew 6, 4, or 6. And you can read it and download it and print it out. And hopefully that’ll help you. It’s a lot more lengthy explanation for you. We have Dorothy in Utica, New York, calling in, is there a difference between your conscience and the Holy Spirit within you?
And yes, the answer is exactly that. The conscience is like the part of you that can be programmed to sound an alarm when you violate it. And the Bible talks about people having their conscience seared with a hot iron. Once you kind of deaden it out, you don’t listen to your conscience, you can kind of ignore. It’s like sometimes people who don’t fasten their seatbelts. There’s a little thing that will buzz every now and then, and they just ignore it.
So after a while they don’t even hear it anymore. But it’s a warning. And God gives us a conscience, and the Holy Spirit can try to convict you, but you can kind of sear your conscience so you don’t listen anymore. And that’s not the way it should be. We need to be sensitive to listen to God and what he’s telling us. But the Holy Spirit will try to convict us, but the conscience is something that is programmable. That’s why when we get into the Word, it will input good information that as we go our way, our conscience will be pricked when we do things that are contrary to God’s Word.
So we need to be careful that we don’t let our conscience become hardened or seared so that we don’t pay attention. We have maritime in Daytona Beach for calling in just now. It leaves us off our question. What is the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit? Very important to this person. Does not want to commit that blasphemy. He hears different answers as to what it’s all about. Well the blaspheming of the Holy Spirit is really a rejection of Christ. If you read the passage in Mark chapter 3, it says there that all manner of sins and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto the sins of men.
And that’s verse 28. Verse 29 says, but he that shall blaspheming against the Holy Spirit have never forgiven us, but is in danger of eternal damnation. But then the answer is in verse 30. He says, because they said, he Christ hath an unclean spirit. What happened here was that Christ had healed a man that was blind and dumb so that he both saw and spake, and the religious leaders could not deny the miracle. So they didn’t try. They simply said that he healed by the power of Satan, not by the power of the Holy Spirit.
So they were rejecting Christ. They were saying he was not the Savior. He was not the Messiah, yes he can heal people and they couldn’t deny that, so they simply said he did it by Satan’s power and that is the blasphemy. Verse 30 tells you the answer because they said Christ had an unclean spirit that was rejecting Christ. to say that he was not the Savior, not the Messiah, not the Son of God, not the Savior. The one who came to die to pay for your sins so that you might be forgiven and receive eternal life.
So it’s the same as that of John 3 18 where Jesus said in John 3 18, He that believeth on the Son is not condemned, but He that believeth not is condemned already because He hath not believed in the name of the only God and Son of God. So unbelief is the unpardonable sin, and the blasphemy and the Holy Spirit is the same sin of unbelief. It’s to say that Christ is not the Savior. He can do miracles, but he does it by Satan’s power because he’s not the Savior.
And so because they said Mark 3.30, mark it down, because they said Christ hath an unclean spirit, that was the blasphemy and that would cause him to be eternally lost. If you die without Christ rejecting him, then you will go to hell. And once you’re dead and you haven’t trusted Christ, you cannot be forgiven. That’s why it’s called the Unpartable Sin. Tim calls in from Lansing, Michigan. And Tim says, a friend of mine says that the seeds sown among the rocks represent Christians that have lost their salvation.
Please explain. That is certainly not true. He’s talking about Christians that have no fruit, and fruit is talking about souls. I believe every believer is to replace themselves with others that will come to no crisis saviour throughout their lifetime. And I believe a thirty-fold Christian that you can read about in the parable of the sower is one that by the time they’ve died have replaced themselves thirty times over. This is the seed sown upon good ground and a sixty-fold Christian is somebody who has replaced himself sixty times over.
You know that’s not really that difficult. If you led one person to Christ a year for thirty years, you would be a thirty-fold Christian. If you led one person, I mean two people to Christ per year over thirty years, you’d be a sixty-fold Christian. If you led three and a third people to Christ every year for thirty years, you’d be a hundred-fold Christian. Those are the ones that are fruit bearing and the seed zone among the thorns and the seed zone among the rocks are those that don’t produce any fruit.
And obviously God wants every Christian to produce fruit. So you don’t lose your salvation and it doesn’t say they lose their salvation but it tells us that they did not have any fruit. And you can see that you actually said in the gospel messages when you read about the parable of the sower, it tells that they bore no fruit or brought no fruit to perfection. And that’s really what it’s talking about here is that these are Christians that don’t bear fruit, whereas the good ground is believers that bear fruit, which is they reproduce themselves over their lifetime.
Thank you, Tim. I hope that helps. If you don’t, call back and we’ll take another stab at it. But we have now James in Largo, Florida. It says, in Luke 21, 24, when will the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled? The times of the Gentiles began with Babylon. When you read the book of Daniel, you’ll find that it began with the Gentile world powers that really put Israel in bondage and under their control for all the time from that time forward until now and will continue till the end of the tribulation period.
So the Babylonian Empire, the Medo-Persian Empire, the Grecian Empire, the Roman Empire, all of these really put Israel underneath their authority. And you know in the time of Christ Rome was ruling the world and the Jews hated that. They had to pay taxes to Rome. It was a Roman Caesar that demanded a census, a tax that caused Mary and Joseph to leave Nazareth and go to Bethlehem for that taxing, and while she was there, Jesus was born. So that’s going to continue.
Gentiles are still kind of overrunning Israel at this very moment, and we’ll right after the rapture all the way to the tribulation, and it’s not until Christ comes back that that the Gentiles will no longer be putting Israel in bondage. In fact Israel will become the head nation and Christ will be her king for the thousand year reign of Christ. And so the times of the Gentiles I believe began in BC 606 with Nebuchadnezzar In the Babylonian Empire and continue right all the way down through the end of the tribulation period and not until the second coming will the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
We have a bill in Pinellas Park calling in and he leaves this off air question. He says please explain Matthew 2432 about the fig tree. So verse 38 about eating, drinking, and marrying, and so on, what does this mean? Also… Well, in the parable there, he’s talking about Israel being the fig tree. If you read Matthew 21, after Christ had been rejected on Palm Sunday and they were beginning to pot his death, he sees on Monday a fig tree with leaves but no fruit.
And he comes and he’s disappointed and it’s a picture of Israel having the fluff and the the leaves and the appearance of being vibrant, but there was no fruit on the tree. And so he curses the tree and it withers away and it says in Matthew, let no fruit grow on the for an age. So for a whole age Israel was to be just withered away. And that’s been true. For two thousand years now Israel has been dispersed among the nations, but then in chapter 24 He talks about the fig tree being revived and how it will put forth leaves and fruit.
That would be when Christ would return. I think we are getting very close to that event. When it talks about the days of Noah, it is talking about that when Christ comes back in the Second Coming, not the Rapture, that he will kill every unbeliever on the earth. They will be crushed and killed by Christ. as the flood came and took the unbelievers away. They were not suspecting it. They were eating and drinking and marrying and giving in marriage and so on until the day that Noah entered into the ark and then the flood came and every unbeliever on the earth was destroyed by the flood.
Only the believers in the ark survived. In the same way when Christ comes back there will be two in the field. The one will be taken in judgment and killed, just like the flood took the unbelievers and killed them. And the one that’s left will be left to live into the Millennium. There will be two grinding at the mill. The one will be taken in judgment and killed, the other will be left to live into the Millennium. It’s not the same as the Rapture.
At the Rapture, the ones that are taken are caught up to meet the Lord in the air and the ones that are left are the unbelievers. The unbelievers are left behind at the Rapture, but at the Second Coming, the believers will be left behind to enter the Kingdom. They will be here on this Earth for a thousand years. The unbelievers will be taken in judgment and killed. All right. All fair. Jean in St. Petersburg calls in and she says, is it possible to die during the seven-year tribulation period as a believer?
Of course. In Revelation 20, it mentions there many, many, many, many martyrs. Those that will be killed because they would not receive the mark of the Antichrist. And so definitely probably millions will die as believers and be martyred according to Revelation chapter 20 verse 4. So check that out of course. And again this is Bible and I’m Dr. Anglin Strim and if you haven’t helped us for the month of May it’s about the end. If you could send a gift to Bible and that would be wonderful.
If you want to get an envelope with our address printed on a call and we’ll be glad to send it to you. Also you can give a gift by credit card over the phone, but we’re not trying to get your money. We just want to get this gospel message out and continue this program in your area and continue to expand. You know, we have the door open to us now to go on shortwave over the whole continent of Africa.
We’re so excited. We’re producing those programs right now and we’re looking forward to being on the air shortly in Africa on shortwave. for that. All of these things are costing money. This is of course the airtime is free. We only have our production costs, but just basically everything costs some money. And we’re not trying to get your money. We just want the gospel to go out. We don’t pay any salaries to anybody here at Bible and but we do want the money to be as wisely to get as many people to hear the gospel where Christ comes as possible.
We have Clinton in Memphis, Tennessee just called in and he asked this off-air question. In the book of Revelation, explain the look as it come out of the pit. And apparently these are special locus designed that will be a plague upon unbelievers. The look is don’t sting believers but only unbelievers. Your sting will be like a scorpion and you’ll want to die. Because it’s so painful, but yet the Bible says you won’t die. It’s the most painful experience you’ve ever experienced in your life.
And for five months, unbelievers will be tormented according to Revelation chapter 9 by these locus that will come out of the heart of the earth. I’m glad I’m leaving it the rapture, aren’t you? I wouldn’t want to be around when these locus come on the scene. Again, I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. If you haven’t trusted Christ, you need to do so. These are the end times and you don’t want to be left behind or you don’t want to die and wind up in hell.
If you don’t trust Christ, that’s what will happen. Right now you can just say, Lord, I’m a sinner. I don’t understand much, but I trust Christ to save me. The moment you do, when you trust His death and shed blood is the only means of your salvation He saves you. Then choose to live for Him and God will bless you and reward you for your faithful service. You’ve got to run, but we’ll be back Lord willing tomorrow. I hope you’ll join me.
Until then, keep looking up. Jesus is coming. And I believe very, very soon. You’ve been listening to Bibleline, a presentation of Bibleline Ministries of Tampa, Florida.
