We’ve had 148 countries log on so far from all over the world.
And so your friends in other countries can tune into the Bible and program. Please let them know. Maybe you have some in the military or relatives living in other countries. Or maybe you know missionaries in other countries. I know we have missionaries in many parts of the world that are listening in on Bible because of the internet, isn’t that wonderful? And we’re excited about it. We just finished the 10 hours of teaching on end-time controversy about the attack on the doctrine of the Second Coming of Christ and the Rapture.
And you’ll find it a very interesting class on methods of interpreting the Bible about the false doctrines and where they come from and how the Bible should be taken literally and if you do then you’re certainly going to believe that Jesus is coming next at the Rapture to catch us out. Wouldn’t that be something if he came this year? Certainly it could happen. We’ve got lots of things in our resource and you can call and ask for a resource list to be sent to you.
All you have to do is now that number 1-800-576-3771. We’d be glad to send a resource sheet to you. If you go online you You can go to the online bookstore on the website and then you’ll find pictures and descriptions of all the things that we have. You can order right there off of the internet site. We’re going to go to the Bible for a little bit and then we’ll take your questions if you want to call in it’s 1-800-576-3771.
That’s 1-800-576-3771. Give us a call. I will get you up on the air. In the Bible, it talks about how we’re saved by grace. If you add any works to grace, then you no longer have grace, but you’ll have to stand before God in your works, which would mean that you would be lost. It’s interesting that the Bible talks about the wheat and the tears, and the wheat and the tears grow up together. And I’m not a farmer, but from what I’ve read and I’ve studied, apparently the wheat and tears look just alike and cannot be detected one from the other very easily.
But at the time of harvest, I’m told that the tears stand up tall and the wheat bows it’s A head over with a heavy grain and isn’t that an interesting picture that God has given to us, because the wheat and tears are standing there saying, look Lord, what we’ve done, why we’ve preached in your name and we’ve healed in your name and we’ve done many wonderful works in your name and Christ will say to them, I never knew you, but the wheat bow their head over and they say as the hymn writer said, just as I am I come without one plea, but that by blood was shed for me.
The true believer recognizes his inability to save himself and places him is trust in the completed finished work of Christ at the cross where he paid our sin debt in full. And so the wheat stand tall, proud and boastful as the Bible says salvation is not of works, lest any man should boast. And so the way you detect somebody who is not saved is by whether of their trusting in their works are not, and usually they’ll brag very easily about all the things that they’re doing to get them to heaven.
There’s what I call the grace test, and that is you may not know a whole lot about the Bible, but if you close your eyes and just ask yourself when you’re hearing a message, a preacher, a sermon, a radio teacher or television, Bible teacher, close your eyes and ask yourself, am I being asked, am I being tugged to do something or not do something in my future that will determine whether I make heaven or not? If that is the case, then it has failed the great steps.
That’s works, my friend. That’s works. If you’re being tugged, you Let me say that while I’m being asked to do this or not do that, and I’m being told that there’s something in my future that will ultimately determine my salvation, that’s works. And that’s a false message. Easy to detect that way. I remember as a brand new believer not knowing exactly what was wrong, sometimes with a message I heard. But as I close my eyes, it said, am I being tugged here to do something or not do something?
And sure enough, that was an easy way to test whether it was of God or not. You know, the true message always takes the loss to the dying sinner. And Poinsim, not to his future, which is the false message, but Poinsim, back to his past, all the way back to the cross of Calvary, where Jesus said on the cross, it is what? Finished. That is an accounting term, it really means paid and full. Full satisfaction received from the debt.
So in other words, the true message of the gospel, the true message of grace, takes us back to Calvary and points us back to the cross where Jesus paid it all. But the false message always has you looking forward to what you’re going to do or not do in your future and if that is the determining factor my friend, that works. you’ll not be saved.” Isn’t that amazing? You know, once you become saved my friend, there’s nothing that can ever undo that salvation.
I love Romans 8, 38, and 39. It says, for I am persuaded that neither death nor her life nor angels or principalities or powers are things present nor things to come. Look at that. Nothing in your future. Things to come nor any other creation shall be able to separate me from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus. In other words, there’s nothing that can ever undo what God did for you and me at the cross. Once you trust Him, you are forever saved.
You can’t ever become unborn. You can never become lost or unsaved once you’ve trusted Christ. I tell people, you’re stuck. You have to go to heaven whether you like it or not. Tough break, learn to live with it. Well, you know that’s true. that doesn’t give us a license to sin, not at all. The Bible is very clear about that. If you trust Christ, you become born again. God becomes your Father for the first time. You become his son or daughter.
If you’re delinquent, God will discipline you and you’ll suffer the loss of reward. But if your obedient God will bless you and he’ll reward you, but you’ll never be lost. You know, when I was born into my parents’ family, I became their son. And I was their son, whether I was obedient, or whether I was disobedient. My obedience, my behavior, had nothing to do with the fact that I was their son. That’s right, I was born into their family.
I’m still their son. There’s nothing that can ever change that. I’m stuck. That’s right. Like it or not, I am their child. I am their son. Now, when I was the link-win or disobedient, sometimes that meant my allowance was cut. My privileges were cut. They might have said to me, you’re not going anywhere this weekend. You’re grounded. You’re not going out this evening. You’re grounded. And I had consequences for my behavior. But I was still there. But when I was obedient and I did my chores and I did the things that required of me when I lived at home with my mom and dad, sometimes I got a little bit of a bonus in my allowance.
And I was a given privileges. I maybe could stay out a little bit later than I normally would be able to stay out. And so I was given privileges and that was a reward. The same thing is true with God. Once you trust Christ, you’re saved forever. Nothing can ever undo that. But your obedience brings about a degree of reward and your disobedience will bring about a discipline from the Lord upon your life and you’ll stand accountable one day and you’ll suffer the loss of reward in eternity.
So as a believer, you’re saved forever, but it doesn’t mean you have a license to sin because God as a good father will discipline his children. It says over in Hebrews 12, 6, for whom the Lord loves. He chases or disciplines and scourges every son whom he receives. So if you are received into God’s family by the new birth, you trust Christ as your Savior, your Savior eternally, and then God becomes your Father, and He will begin to work in your life to bring you to a place where you can be not only in God’s favor as far as blessing and reward is concerned, but that you’ll be a servant that is pleasing to the Lord.
God wants to discipline you so that you might bring pleasure to Him as you live for Him each and every day. And I hope that you’ve trusted Christ as your Savior. My friend, it is this grace test that’s so important. Ask yourself, the next time you hear a message, anywhere in your church or on the radio or wherever, close your eyes and just say, am I being tugged to do something or not do something? And if you are, that’s a false message, because that’s pointing you to your own future and what you will do or what you will not do as the determining factor as to whether you’re go to heaven or not.
That’s false. The true message always takes you, puts you where your focus back to the cross, where Jesus said it’s finished. Pate and full. It’s done. Isn’t that wonderful? And that of course is the truth. So ask yourself, sometimes it’s subtle. You don’t really know what’s going on, but you know that they’re asking you to do something. Whether you have to walk in aisle, whether you have to turn from your sin, whether you have to join the church, whether you have to be confirmed, whether you have to be baptized, whether you have to pray, whether you have to go to Mass, whether you have to do penance, and the list goes on and on and on and on.
My friend, if you have to do anything, then that’s salvation by works. Jesus paid it all,” the hymn writer wrote, all to him I owe, sin had left a crimson stain, but he, Jesus, washed it, has white snow. There is nothing for you to do. Jesus paid it all. When you trust him, you become saved. Then of course God invites us to become servants or disciples, and we can serve him, and God will richly bless us for that. I’m Dr.
Englunds from This is Bible. I’m just great to be with you. The phone number here at MyBlind is 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Alright we have some questions here off here. I think I’ll take a few of those and we have people also calling him today. We’re going to go to Steve in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He He says in John chapter 20 verse 15, what these is Christ referring to? I believe you must be talking about John 21 verse 15 because it doesn’t make sense in John 20.
Let’s go over there. Christ is talking to Peter. This is after the resurrection. We find here he says, love us thou me more than these. Well, the answer is Peter here gone fishing. After the resurrection, he was really going back to his old life. And you know, as he backslid, really, if you talk about backsliding, this is Peter backsliding, and people that backslide don’t backslide alone. They take other people with him. They take him down the tubes, right with him, and he takes some of his disciple buddies and says, let’s go fishing.
Well, they fished all night and didn’t catch a thing. And then Jesus, of course, is on the shore and he tells them to cast a net on the other side of the boat. You know, I know that doesn’t make a bit of difference except that God’s involved here. And sure enough, they caught so many fish. The nets were about to break. And we find here that Peter loved fishing. And as they laid out, all these many fish that almost sank the boats that they were in.
Jesus says, do you love me more than these? In other words, do you love Christ more than you love your career or your favorite activities here in this life? What is most important to you? And obviously, he had to make a choice there if he’s going to be a disciple of Christ. You have to choose. Do you love Christ first and supremely above all other things? And that’s what it’s all about. And in order to be a disciple, you have to do that.
For saking all of the things, you put Christ first in your life, not last. Steve, I hope that helps. He’s talking about fishing, talking about the many fish that were laid on the ground that they had just caught. Because Christ told him to cast in the other side of the boat. And he loved fishing, but he says to Peter, do you love fishing more than you love me? What are you going to choose to do with your life? And of course we know earlier he had chosen to forsake his fishing career and follow Christ and be a disciple.
But now here after the resurrection are you believing it? Peter backs lines and goes back to his former lifestyle. And Christ confronts him again. And so he makes a decision after the resurrection that I know I’m not going to go back to my former lifestyle. But I’m going to live for you. Thank you for calling in from Chattanooga, Tennessee. We have Jean in Tampa, Florida calling in off air and he says, why don’t Jehovah’s Witnesses believe in blood transfusions?
Well, the answer is, is they believe your soul is in your blood. So if you’re, you got transfused blood from somebody else, somebody else’s soul might enter into your body. Really crazy belief, but certainly not taught by the Bible. And so obviously many witnesses refuse under surgery, which could mean they might die and many have the refused blood transfusion during surgery. We have the second question by Gene is where does it say in the Bible Christ the hope of glory and that’s Colossians 1 27 where Christ is in us, He dwells in us when we trust Christ as Savior.
And by the way in Hebrews 13 5 Jesus says I will never leave you and I’ll never forsake you. Isn’t that wonderful? So He’ll never leave you, He’ll never forsake you, you’re safe forever. And notice He is the hope of glory and the word hope in the Bible from the Greek is a word that means an expectation that you know will come to pass without a doubt and that you excitedly anticipate it. And so Christ is dwelling in us and He is this one who is our expectation who will take us all the way safely to heaven’s shore, plan our feet in heaven, and there will live with Him forever and ever and experience the presence of God forever.
Great and we sure thank you for calling in Gene from Tampa, Florida. We have Felix in Tampa, Florida. Do angels have feelings? And is Gabriel the only angel with feeling? And the answer is, no, all angels are created alike. And a third of them followed Satan when he attempted to overthrow God in heaven. But the other two-thirds are what are called in the Bible, the just angels or the righteous angels, the ones that did not make that choice. They had a choice and they made their choice then.
There’s no salvation today for the fallen angels. They already have been, they’ve had their choice, they rejected the Lord and they chose the fallen Satan. They’ve already been judged and they’ve already been given an appointment to spend all eternity in hell with Well, we have a caller we haven’t heard from him in a long time, Dr. Anonymous is somewhere roaming around in Florida. He says, so we don’t know where he’s backpacking or hitchhiking or whether he’s driving but Dr.
Anonymous welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. I’m doing good. Where are you? All right. I guess we’re gonna get any more information on you. What is your question today? I’m almost real fun Yeah, listen, I’ve been listening and you know, I understand what you’re saying that we are saved by grace and this is true. This is the Word of God and there’s nothing we can absolutely do to earn our way into heaven that somewhere in here when you were just, you know, you was talking about repentance, change of mind.
So we’re in here. People that are really living in sin, somewhere in here, they’re going to have to put the gun down. They’re going to have to stop stealing people calls. And they’re going to have to get their heart changed from within by changing their mind from their heart. Now, I looked at it this way as a believer, because I trust Jesus says my savior. And I understand that when we try to work our way to have them through our self-righteousness, they’re the negative thing like Jesus doesn’t like this.
We don’t really need him. But I’m talking about, I’m saying, you’re gonna, a murderer, you’re gonna have to stop killing people. You know what I’m saying? That means repentance. Somebody that’s stealing calls, You know what happens here, Dr. Anonymous, they will stop stealing cars. Sometimes they get caught, you know when they go to jail and murder sometimes Go to jail for their life and sometimes they’re executed. That’s all a part of God’s dealing with them about their sin. But definitely it has nothing to do.
And this is hard for, I know a lot of folks including yourself to understand, but Christ died for sinners. And He died for murderers. And even some believers after they were saved did some of those grievous sins. Remember Moses? He committed murder. He killed an Egyptian and buried his body in the sand. And God And this applied for that, he had to flee Egypt because Pharaoh was coming after him. And for 40 years he wandered out there in the desert as a shepherd and then he was raised up 40 years later.
He was now 80. He was 40 when he committed that murder and then God brought him back to lead the chilovisual out of Egypt. So here was a man who committed murder. And we have David, Saveman, committing murder and adultery. And we find here that the Lord chastened him, and we find that David really was brought to his knees. And David cried out and said, Lord, restore unto me the joy of my salvation. And you can find that in Psalm 51 as he has gone to restore the joy.
He lost his joy. He lost that joy that he had as a Christian living for Christ and God had disciplined him sorely and he recognized that and he asked God to restore the joy. But he never lost his salvation. That was never in danger. And we sure do thank you for that thought. I know a lot of people think like you do. Dr. Anonymous, but salvation, you have to realize has nothing to do with behavior, has nothing to do with conduct, has nothing to do with our obedience, it has to do with Christ.
When you trust Him, He saves you forever, but you do not get away with living as you please. God is the one that deals with you. A Vicki. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. The question, where is our spirit, our soul, and the Holy Spirit when we receive Jesus, we have the Holy Spirit. Where are they all? Am I? Well, you mentioned about Jehovah, witnesses, you know. Well, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in our bodies and our soul and our spirit dwell within this body of ours.
And we are triune beings, bodies, soul and spirit. But the soul and spirit are the non-material part of our makeup. and although the soul and spirit are separate and different, The Bible is always together. When we die, our soul and spirit go to be with the Lord of our Christian, but our body returns to the grave and returns back to the elements from which it came. But we’ll get brand new bodies in heaven that will house our soul and our spirit once again.
According to 2 Corinthians 5, much of the first part of the chapter deals with that. But we find the Holy Spirit also comes to indwell in our bodies, and that happens at the moment of belief and of course we find that we just quoted a moment ago Colossians 1 27 Christ also dwells in our bodies once we become saved then I hope that answers your question we are out of time here in our studio we have a couple of teens that are out of school two brothers Casey and Cody we welcome to the Bible and program also we want to say if you haven’t trusted Christ you need to do that and unless you trust Christ alone, if you feel you have to do certain things in order to be saved or to stay saved, you have heard a false message, not the one of grace.

Sunday and of course Sunday morning you can get basically two hours of me. I teach an adult class at 9 and 15 and I have the worship service at 10.30. Now if you live in another city you can catch our worship service on the internet, even live or you can go back and catch it at a later time. But if you go and click on the camera on the home page or our website you will find that At about 11 o’clock you’ll see clouds rolling on by, you’ll hear the O-rogged cross, and about 11 o’clock or about maybe a few minutes after, be patient there.
But as soon as I begin to message, and it’s not always the same minute, but right after 11 sometimes you’ll all of a sudden see the audio in the video come up and you’ll be able to catch our worship serviceGre, or you can go back and listen to it in archive. We have a couple of months where the message is sitting there for you. By the way, you can subscribe to the Sunday Messages that I deliver every week and you can get them on CD sent to your home.
I believe it’s a gift of $30 and we’ll send them out every month. You can set that up so it happens automatically and they just continue to come to your home and you’ll be able to listen and enjoy in your car and your home or wherever you might be. Plus we have many many other presentations. We just finished this two hour, I mean, a 10 hour class called End Time Controversy. That’s available on CD and DVD. So if you’d like to get any of those, we have about 40.
Well, I’m the book of Revelation. That’s one of the most popular that we have in the book of Daniel. And these are all great. You might want to to get the class on Jesus’ coming. Very exciting about in-time prophecy and of course the one on ten vital doctrines that will really keep you on top of everything. We’re going to go back to the phone lines and we’re going to now talk to James and Margot. James, welcome to Bible End.
Yeah, good morning. Good morning. Have a question. Levelation 21-1. New, having a new earth. Is that a new heaven or a new earth? Is there a car beef fur or a half to the millenia? Not again. Not occurs after the millennium. If you read chapter 20, we find the millennium comes to a close. There’s one final confrontation with Satan. He’s cast in verse 10 into the lake of fire. Then you have the great white throne judgment and it talks in verse 11 about the heaven earth fleeing away as it’s destroyed.
And then in chapter 21 verse 1, the new heavens and new earth appear. And then we have the new Jerusalem introduced that comes down from heaven and I believe will orbit in. Well it’s to give us a pristine earth right now. You can hardly go anywhere where you don’t find what? Rusted cans and junk and trash and pollution and look at how we have trashed this planet as a human race.
He’s getting the earth. We’re going to have a perfect earth. It’s going to be wonderful. Can you imagine maybe if you get a chance to canoe down the stream and the new earth, that it’ll be clear as crystal, the water won’t be polluted. You’ll get to see those fish coming right up to the surface and maybe pet them.
Yes the question would be just saying this happens to after the millennium. The question is, who is on the new earth? Everybody that is saved of all the ages will enter into the New Jerusalem and it will, I believe, be above the earth orbiting and the gates will be open day and night. And I believe we’ll be able to go down and enjoy this new earth. I’m looking forward to it myself. And so you can walk down a beach and it’ll be absolutely beautiful and clean and maybe canoe down a stream or climb a mountain or enjoy a beautiful valley and just enjoy the beaties of God’s creation.
So you’re saying everything that has to be all in one thing? Well, essentially so. Yeah, the New Jerusalem comes down to the earth and you just read it in chapter 21. Pretty plain that it’s right there and the New Earth is there and all the saved. Now the Jehovah’s Witnesses, they get things confused and they try to say that only the 144,000 Jehovah’s Witnesses, the first ones that became Witnesses, are in the New Jerusalem, and then all the rest are going to be down on the New Earth.
But unfortunately, they don’t realize that they won’t be in either place. They’re going to be in a place where, of course, they don’t even believe it exists, but it’s called H-E-L-L. They’ll be in hell because they reject Christ as Savior. But all the saved. If you read chapter 21 of Revelation, it tells us that all of the saved of all the nations will enter into the New Jerusalem and the new heavens and the new earth will be our, you might say, your playground.
That’s it. Okay? All right. Thank you. Thank you, James, and that is James over in Largo. And only saved will enter in. In verse 20, chapter 21 verse 27, it says that there shall not enter into it anything that the Father neither whatsoever worketh abomination or makeeth a lie. So one lie would be enough to keep you out of heaven and the New Jerusalem and boy that’s the verse that got my attention. As I was raised in church, I was faithful in church and I was a leader in my church as a team, but I was lost.
I didn’t see that I was lost because I thought that I was just about as good as anybody else and we were taught works would get us to heaven. When I finally saw that verse that night, I realized, wow, I’ve told more than one lie, I’m in trouble, and I really began to pay real close attention and I learned that eternal life was a gift and that the righteousness required to inner heaven was offered through faith in Christ. And when you trust Christ, the very righteousness of God is credited to your count.
You can read Revelation, you can read any book in the Bible and basically this theme is throughout the Bible from Genesis on. Genesis 15, 6, Abraham believed the Gospel message and it says it was counted to him for righteousness. Abraham was made righteous by faith in Christ. Thank you James. We’re now going to go to Sam in Lakeland, Florida and Sam. Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Oh, enjoy your program there. And I had this guy with another, I’m not a Macau.
And I like to give him a, I like to say something. I hope he listens. I like to give a sense. I’m going to wait with Sam this morning about you have to do something to be a salvation that’s proved you say. but the person he said he believed in either he saved. So the thing about he shouldn’t know how the law worked in his life. I mean, I’ve had a lot of people say a lot of things, but he shouldn’t know how the world looked in his life.
And before he got saved, how bad he were, and it wasn’t nothing good in him. And then when he got saved, the law started changing his whole attitude about himself. As he read the Bible, he read the Word, and everything God give him the strength to not do these things. So he should be able to see how the Lord will be in his life and his character, but at the same time, when we have our children, we want them to go to college and everything that don’t let them not be our child, they don’t go to college, but we want them to go to college so they can get a better job and enjoy themselves.
And that kind of character make us feel good. But at the same time, to train back God, when God… He wants to do the same thing. So what you do is not calling your salvation. He wants you to do all the good things so you can enjoy Him on earth and have wars put up in heaven. And a lot of people get the idea that flesh. The flesh got no good thing in them. It’s just bad. And they feel that when they heal into the flesh, that’s the part called them to go to hell.
But flesh can’t call you to go to hell because Jesus is the one who’s over all of that. Well, thank you, Sam, and I hope Dr. Anonymous is listening. The problem is that if you’re trusting in works in addition to Fade in Christ, then you’re not going to be saved until you come to the place where you trust Christ alone as your Savior. That’s the scary part. And that’s what I am so concerned about that it’s not splitting a hair, but it’s determining whether a person really is truly saving that.
As long as you’re trusting in anything that you can do, you’re not really trusting Christ. I like the illustration that if you’re on a dock and you’re going to step off onto a small boat, if you just put one foot on the boat, are you trusting the boat? And the answer is no. You still have a foot on the dock. Even if you put two feet on the boat, but you have both hands on the dock, you’re not trusting the boat.
And a lot of A lot of people are that way. They put maybe two feet on Christ, but they really still have their hands on other works and things that they’re doing to save them ultimately. And so they really never have trusted the boat. So they’ve never really trusted Christ. It’s not until you cut all ties with the dock and totally rest all of your weight upon Christ. Like you would put all of your weight on the boat. You’ve not trusted the boat until you’ve put all of your weight on the boat.
You haven’t trusted Christ, so you’ve cut all ties to any other thing that you might think might help you to get into heaven one day. And so that’s important to recognize. And then, of course, after you’re saved, God invites you to serve Him, and we ought to, but not to be saved, but because we are. Well we have, like I said, down in Pimbroke, Pines, Florida, calling in, he leaves this offer a question. He says, what is your opinion on tithing?
Well, is it something that’s required today or was it only required in the Old Testament days? Well, it was a requirement under the Old Testament law to give 10%. But this side of the cross, we’re not under the law, we’re under grace. So it means that we’re not constrained to do it by law, but we are constrained to give by love. says in 2 Corinthians 5, 14, it is the love of Christ that constrains us today. So if you really love the Lord, you should give from the heart.
And the Bible says, then 2 Corinthians 9, a great chapter on giving that we shouldn’t give because of the necessity or give grudgingly, but God loves a cheerful giver. The Greek word is the same word translated hilarious. In other words, you just enjoy. You just can’t wait to give and you want to give because you love the Lord. And it’s something you do from the heart. So it’s a different focus. And under the Old Testament, they just had to do it period.
It was a law. But now this side, we don’t have to give that way. Now, that is something maybe you could take advantage of, but in not giving. But if you don’t give, you’re the loser. My whole philosophy on giving changed when I saw Philippians 4, 17. Paul said about giving. He says, not that I desire a gift. He said, I’m not trying to get your money, but he says, I desire fruit that may have bound to your account.
Now I admit that there are preachers today that are trying to get your money. and I’m embarrassed to be categorized with all these people that are out there that are like that. But that’s sad. And so I try not to speak about money if I don’t have to because of that. But yet at the same time we need to because the Bible tells us that it’s a way that we can invest in eternity. And in Philippians 4, 17, it says, not that I desire a gift, but I desire a fruit that may abound your account.
In other words, as you invested, if you did in the ministry of the Apostle Paul, whatever fruit that he bore would be accruing to your account in heaven. Boy, if I could only go back in time and be somebody that would be supporting Paul, I would love to have his fruit lining up on my account in heaven, that’s for sure. And that’s why giving is where you win. So win, win, win, because you’re going to benefit if you give wisely.
Now if you give to an organization that has a false message, it’s a negative. You’re going to lose reward. 2 John, verse 8 says, look to yourselves that you lose not those things that you’ve worked for, but that you might receive a full reward. Then it mentions in verse 11, if you bid Godspeed or if you endorse or give or support a ministry where the ministry is giving a false message, it says you’re a partaker of their evil deeds, and you will lose reward, according to 2 John, verse 8 and verse 11.
you will come out negative. So it’s very important to be smart in giving and know where you’re giving while you’re living. You need to know if you’re giving to an organization or to a ministry where the gospel is preached and Christ is honored and souls are getting saved and people are being challenged with the gospel of Jesus Christ as Savior. And so that’s where you need to give in. The more you give, the more fruit is going to be counted to your account in heaven, I believe, and it’s a privilege that every believer has.
And I think it’s based upon your ability to give. If you can’t give a million dollars, if you don’t have a million dollars, but if you only had a might like the little widow that we read about in the New Testament, she gave more than all the rich men because she gave all that she had, Christ said. In other words, she gave 100%. So it really is based upon how God has blessed you. If you give a lot but you have more, a great deal left over for yourself, then maybe you really haven’t given very much, this widow gave all her living, Christ said.
So she gave more than all those that gave great quantities of money, because she gave a higher percentage. I hope that helps, and thank you for calling in from South Florida and Pimbroke Pines, very close there to Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale in that area down in South Florida. We have Carl in Riverview and Carl, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the earth. Oh, thank you, Dr. Lynch. I wanted to respond to Sam. I know Sam is saved, but Sam got to be able to identify when people that ain’t saved.
If you don’t give 100% of the credit to Jesus, you’re not saved. So when you look at people that say they have changed and then made a difference for us to change, that doesn’t mean they saved. That smoke for 30 years and stopped. She’s not a Christian. She don’t even go to church. Yes, she changed. It’s a lot of people thinking because they’re changing what they see other people that say they have changed that they say that has nothing to do with it.
Behavior, like you said earlier, has nothing to do with whether you say it or not. I just wanted to respond to Sam because Sam seems like he was feeling sorry for the guy but at the same time he’s given the guy credit saying he’s changed, got changed and that That doesn’t mean that God’s changing you. That person making changes, but that has nothing to do with that person being saved. You’re saved by the blood of Jesus Christ, His works on the cross.
Do with anything we’ve done. Thanks. Well, Col, you’re exactly right and thank you so very much. So basically you’re saying that Dr. Anonymous possibly is not saved because he feels he has to do some of these things in order to be saved. And we find that Sam came on the air and assumed that Dr. Anonymous was saved and that he ought to relate to his own personal experience to understand that those who get saved perhaps will change the way they’re living their life.
And we ought to as believers, not to be saved, but because we are and that we want to live the place of the Lord. We have a couple of off-air calls and again if you’d like to call in you can dial us at If you would like to go to Israel, it is time to start thinking. We want you to give us your name and your phone number so we can keep you abreast of what we decide is. We are here in committing to a date and committing to an itinerary and we will commit to the price so that you can know what it is going to cost.
We had a marvelous trip back in March of this year and we just had a safe trip. We enjoyed the hotels were wonderful, the food was great, the weather was wonderful. We just it just couldn’t have been better. And that was trip number 14 for me. We of course obviously our whole group admitted this changed our life because you were walking where Jesus walked and you saw the places where the biblical events took place. We went down to the creek bed where David picked up the stone to kill Goliath.
Wow, it was exciting just to be in those places where these events took place and it made the Bible really come alive for us. We have David now and David is calling in from the land Florida. And David, welcome to Bibleend Year on the Year. Morning, Pastor Lindstrom. How are you doing? Good. We’re listening to you here on WYND and D.D. and we really appreciate you here. I didn’t hear the whole thing about Dr. Anonymous, but what little I picked up with the last few people called in, I think I know where the guy is coming from, he probably is safe, and there’s something I’ve struggled with.
I don’t know if you’re familiar with computer code. I’ve had some when we went through college. And if there’s a statement like if, then, do while, those are conditional statements. And in the Bible, as you read through it, you’ll read if, and then then, and then do, and then while. And those are like conditions in the Bible that where man does something, God does something in response. So I too have struggled with that, but I know that it’s not us, it’s the finished work of Christ on the cross.
We’re just tripping over ourselves a lot of times. We’ve got to do this, we’ve got to do that. Oh man, I didn’t do this, I didn’t do that. Oh wow, now I really blew it. And just stuff like that. But I think I know where Dr. Anonymous is coming from because there’s if statements through the Bible there’s been statements, there’s due and then while and when you’re mind wrestles with all those things and when you’re you know and so that’s all.
When you’re careful student you notice that those really are applying to the Christian life because the rewards and blessings are conditioned upon our service to the Lord and those verses sometimes are confused by some to be salvation verses and they’re not. Right. And David, you’re exactly right and I’m glad you share that because absolutely there are people that get mixed up on that. And as you grow in your knowledge of the scripture, you begin to learn how to rightly divide and separate that out and separate what Christ has done, which is for our salvation and what we do for Him, which is our appreciation.
And that is of course where the blessings come in and the rewards come in. Right. In computer code, lines of control always come back to if, then do while. So if you write computer code and lines in that, have an if statement, that next line of code won’t proceed, so it won’t happen. Unless you have the if statement, then do while. So I understand that’s been a real wrestling match to me too because I’m thinking, well, here I’ve got to do all these conditional things and I’m not doing them, you know, and I’m really big in trouble.
So thank you. Amen. Well, thank you David for listening over there and to be YND in Delanne, Florida. And we’re glad that we’re over in that area for you. And of course the people that came by yesterday to visit us from Daytona. Listen in on that station out of Delanne. We have Debbie in Chesterfield, Virginia, and Debbie, welcome to Bible Eye of the Year on the Earth. Hi, this is Debbie in Chesterfield, Virginia, and good morning. Good morning. And my husband and I have seen a church that’s been very sound and expository teaching, but they’re now the pastor and the elders are following John Piper with Lordship Salvation, Calvinism, strain into that direction.
I don’t know at what point, you know, what the essentials of the truth are. If my husband and I need to separate or if we should just continue to pray that their eyes will be opened. If you give some insight, please. Sure. That’s a tough question. But Lordship Salvation really is a false gospel. It’s really a subtlety on the part of the devil. And you know, we ought to be submissive to the Lord and letting me be the Lord of our life.
But not as a condition for salvation. That becomes a false gospel. And if you read Galatians 1, 8, and 9, it becomes an accursed message. And so you really don’t want to have to be supportive of a message that is really one that we call somebody to be lost. I believe in Matthew 7 verse 22, you have the Lordship crowd. And they say, Lord, Lord, and they acknowledge His Lordship. Then they notice, display their obedience to Lordship, and they say, look at what we’ve done, why we’ve preached in your name.
healed in your name and done many wonderful works in your name and Christ said to that group I never knew you. So Lordship doesn’t lead to heaven, it leads to hell. If you’re trusting in Christ to be saved in Him alone, you’re saved. But if you’re trusting in your obedience to the Lordship of Christ to be saved, that’s works, and you’ll not be saved. So it’s a scary world because we’re getting more and more unsound teaching all over the place and many are following those and of course that’s what the Bible said would happen I think as we close up the age before Christ comes and stenthes us out.
Wow, we’ll be praying for you. Okay, thank you so much. I appreciate the insight. Okay, and I love some of the things by Charles Ryrie. He’s got a book called Balancing the Christian Life, which has become of the best chapters I’ve read on Lordship. And he says, the Gospel of Grace and the Gospel of Lordship cannot both be the true Gospel. One of them is wrong. That’s certainly common sense, isn’t And so you have to reject the false message.
It’s not the message of grace like we spoke of today. We are just running out of time. We’ve got more off-air questions. We’ve got some more live callers from Virginia here, but I don’t believe we have time enough to do it. We’ve got to say goodbye. We’ll be back next week. I hope you’ll have a great and safe weekend. If you ever come into the area, please come by and see us. If you haven’t given a gift for the month of May, to Bible and Buddha call us and help us out as may as about over.
