We’ll talk about the Bible for a little bit. Then we’ll go ahead and take your questions off here and on here. The 800 number is 1-800-576-37. 7-1, 1-800-576-3771. We’re going to turn to the Gospel of John and we’re going to look at chapter 5 and we have here a most interesting chapter about Jesus and in John’s Gospel we find it is the Gospel that declares the deity of Christ.

We know that there are four Gospels and some people ask why are there four and the answer is is that each one of them gives us a different point of Christ. Jesus in the book of Matthew is presented as a king, and things that relate to his Kinghood are talked about in the book of Matthew. In Mark’s Gospel, Christ is presented as a servant, and we have the things related to his service mentioned in Mark’s Gospel. In Luke’s Gospel, Christ is presented as a man, and we have The humanness of Christ brought out in Luke’s Gospel.

In John’s Gospel, Christ is presented as God. And we have the amazing chapters that talk about the deity of Christ in John’s Gospel. And all four are true, but they give us a complete picture of Christ as we see the four Gospels giving these four different aspects about who Christ is. We find here that Jesus had healed a man here who was impotent for 38 years. This man, all of a sudden, was able to take up his bed and walk.

Many of the religious legalists of that day wanted to give him a ticket for that. It says, the Jews therefore said to him that it was cured in verse 10 of chapter 5 of John that it is the Sabbath day. It’s not lawful for thee to carry thy bed. So here’s a guy who never could walk or carry his bed. Now, walking and carrying his bed on the Sabbath day, and they said, hey, that’s illegal. They wanted to give him a ticket.

In any case, when the man departed and the Jesus knew that Jesus was the one who had made him whole, they then came after Christ because they wanted to persecute him because he had done these things on the Sabbath day. Isn’t that amazing? that they wanted to just come down on Christ because he had healed a man who had never walked for 38 years and he does this on the Sabbath day. What we find in verse 17, Jesus says to them, my father worked at Hiddah 2 and I work.

Now this statement was really a claim to his deity and in verse 18, therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him because he not only had broken the Sabbath, but said also that God was his father making himself equal with God. So here we have Jesus claiming to be God and they recognize it and they wanted to kill him because of this. So here we have Christ demonstrating that he is God by healing a man who had never walked for 38 years.

the modern healers of today don’t do those kind of miracles do they they don’t heal people that haven’t walked for 38 years and obviously the real miracles were done 2000 years ago then we find in verse 19 Jesus said unto them barely barely I say unto you the son of man could do nothing of himself but what he seeeth the Father do for what things so ever he do it these also do with the son likewise. So you’ll notice here that Jesus is cranked claiming to be God again as he does whatever the Father does.

No one else could make that claim. And then it says for the Father in love with the Son and showeth him all things that he himself doeth and he will show him greater works than these that you may marvel. And then he says as the The Father raises the dead and makes them alive, even so the Son makes alive whom He will. Notice only God has the power to raise the dead. And here Jesus has the power to raise the dead.

He also can do all the things that the Father does, which again he’s claiming that He’s equal with God as we see in verse 18 of chapter 5. And then it says in verse 21, as the Father raises up the dead and makes them alive, even so the Son makes alive whom he will, for the Father judges no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son. Well, God is the judge of all men, and here Christ is claiming to be that judge.

Not only does he raise the dead, not only does he do all the things that the Father does, But also we find here that he claims to be equal with God and he claims that he obviously is the judge of all men. Verse 23 says that all men should honor the son even as they honor the father. He that honoreth not the son, honoreth not the father that has sent him. So notice he deserves equal honor or equal worship with God the Father.

So Jesus Christ is God and he demands honor and worship just as the Father does. He’s able to raise the dead just as the Father does. the judge of all men, just as the Father is, he can do all the things that the Father does, and obviously, Christ is claiming to be God. Then in verse 24, one of my favorite verses, Jesus says, very, very, I say unto you, he that heareth my word. And here we have Christ words being the very words of God.

Jesus is not quoting some prophet or someone else, or even quoting God the Father, Jesus Christ said, He that hear My Word. So when you believe the words of Christ, you’re actually believing the words of God. And that’s why it is so significant to pay attention to what Christ said. And that’s what He’s saying here in verse 24. He says, barely, barely. That means truthfully, truthfully. What that really means is not that Christ ever told a lie. But this is a truth set apart from the rest of the truth of God’s Word.

A truth that you don’t want to miss. In other words, when you’re reading your Bible and you come to a very rarely stop and really think about it because this is the truth you don’t want to miss. And look at the wonderful truth we have here in verse 24. It says here and believe it. When you believe on Christ, when you trust Him as your Savior, three things take place. Christ says according to His words, which are the words of God.

It says number one you have everlasting life. That means it’s a present possession received at the moment you believe. I have eternal life right now. When did I receive it? When I was eighteen, I trusted Christ as my Savior. A lot of people think you have to wait until after you die to receive eternal life or to know whether you’re going to heaven or not. That’s not true. The Bible tells you from the very moment you trust Christ you can be absolutely assured of going to heaven because God says so.

He says right here. If you are listening and paying attention to Christ’s words, which are the words of God, he says when you believe on him that you presently possess everlasting life. And I have everlasting life right now. How about you? If you have trusted Christ as your Savior according to the Word of God, according to the Word of Christ in John 524, you have right now everlasting life. Secondly, it says you will not come into condemnation. You can write in the margin of your Bible next to John 524 that if you are a believer you will never go to hell.

It is saying you will never be condemned, ever be condemned. In other words you will never go to hell. You will never be condemned to hell because the Bible says you will never be condemned. I believe is saved forever and ever and ever and a believer will never wind up going to And lastly here it says, excuse me, the believer is passed from death unto life. Once you become a believer, you were spiritually dead, but you’re made spiritually alive at the moment you trust Christ.

And so whereas you were spiritually dead, now you’re spiritually alive and you’re alive forevermore. So this is everlasting life that you’ve received and you were spiritually dead, but now you’re alive forever and ever and ever and will forever be with the Lord. This is an incredible chapter and we find that at the voice of Jesus we find in a few verses further down here, all that are in the graves will one day respond. All the believers will receive their new bodies as Christ will shout and the bodies will come out of the graves and believers will get new bodies.

But the unbelievers a thousand years later, after the thousand year reign of Christ, will also get new bodies as Christ will shout and their bodies will come forth and unbelievers will receive a new body that will withstand hell’s fire forever and ever. And in those bodies they will be cast into the eternal lake of fire where the Bible says there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth forever and ever and ever. I’m Dr. Englund from I hope you’ve been praying that you’ve trusted Christ as your Savior.

And if you haven’t, let me just encourage you right now to say, Lord, I am a sinner, and that’s just being honest. But I trust Jesus right now as my Savior, as the one who died to forgive my sin, the one who shed his blood and paid my sin debt and full, was buried in Rosalguin from the that I trust him right now to save me. Good to talk to you today. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. This is Bibleline. We’re going to go to the phone lines.

You’re welcome to call in at 1-800-576-3771. Again, tomorrow night I’m starting a new class. The Gospel of John for 12 hours, six weeks, and getting tomorrow night 7-9. For six weeks we’ll teach the Gospel of John. That’ll be 12 hours of teaching. You can come and sign up and take it in the classroom. We’re asking you to come back. a gift of $60 to buy a line, and that’s only $5 per class hour. And then of course that’ll help buy a line.

But also if you live in another city or another place, you can sign up over the phone, get the passcode. It’ll still cost the $60, but you’ll be able to get the passcode and watch these classes, not only live when we do them tomorrow night, but also you can catch them again and again and again as you’ll sit there on the internet for you to watch even after the classes have ended. But a special that we’re running today and tomorrow is if you sign up over the phone for the internet and you give us a gift of $100 to Bible and will also include when the classes are finished, 12 CDs of the 12 hours of teaching will ship that out to your home.

And so you’ll not only get to watch the classes live, but you’ll also be able to get the CDs at the end of the classes as well. We’re going to go to the phone lines and we’ll also get the off-air question, so please call us at 1-800-576-3771. We have Joe in Pembroke Pines and he asks a question off-air. Joe says, what was the time of the Crusades all about? I hear people say that there were Christians who murdered people.

Please explain. Well, let’s just say there were Roman Catholics that killed people. There’s a difference, I believe, and there are many Roman Catholics, I believe, that have simply trusted Jesus alone as their Savior and our Christians. But if you ask many Roman Catholics, are you a Christian? They’ll say, I’m Roman Catholic. I think they know the difference. And there is a difference between being a Roman Catholic and a Christian. Well because the Roman Catholic Church from the time of Augustine on the 5th century rejected Israel as having any future that God was through with Israel and replaced Israel by the church, they believed that they were in charge of taking over this world for Christ.

And so they thought they could do that with armies. And so they sent out the Crusades and they did murder a lot of people because we were going to take the world by force. Jesus talks at Matthew about the violent, try to take the kingdom or the world by force. And obviously the Crusades were a terrible dark hour in history and obviously there are many people still impacted by the terrible crimes that were committed in the name of Jesus Christ.

But this is really the Roman Catholic Church and their bad theology that God was done with Israel and that the Church had replaced Israel. The Church was to bring peace on earth, but they didn’t do it in a peaceful way. They did it with a sword and they went out and murdered in the name of Christ. Of course, we know that the crusaders were defeated by the Muslims and obviously that age kind of went by. But this is really what it was all about and it was a history, part of history that I think as Christians were embarrassed about that these things happened in the name of Jesus Christ.

But many of the Reformation churches have the same doctrine. That is most of the Reformation churches believe in replacement theology, that the churches replaced Israel, that there is no future plan. Obviously this is totally wrong and we believe were very, very, very close to when Christ is going to come back. And once He snatches us out in this church age is concluded at the rapture, then seven years will tick off the clock, I believe the last seven years of the Old Testament age.

And during that time Israel will get another opportunity to receive Christ as their king and this time a large remnant will call upon Jesus as their Savior. The Christ will come back as your King and establish peace on earth, good will toward men, and Israel will be the head nation on the earth, and Christ himself will bring peace on earth and a kingdom that he will establish, but the church doesn’t do this. The church is the bride of Christ and will be caught up to meet the Lord of the year.

We’re going to get a Benjamin in Clearwater Florida. Benjamin, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. I have a little bit of a doubt here in 184 when they say that how the soul can… First of all, it’s not really talking about your soul. The soul can never die if you look at Matthew 10, 28. You can kill the body, but you can’t kill the soul. But the translation there causes the problem. The word soul there means your life.

And what it’s talking about is if you sin, God might take you home to heaven early and it’s talking about physical death. So if you sin, then God will take your life early. We know that there are many, many examples in the Bible and we know that Moses in fact was one of those. That he committed the sin unto death that it talks about in 1 John 5, 16, where he committed the sin where God took his life. Moses, because he smoked the rock, instead of speaking to the rock as he was instructed, we find that Christ, rather God, took Moses’ life.

He was still physically strong. His vision was great in 2020, and God took him home. He never got to lead the children of Israel into the Promised Land that Joshua, one of the young men that came out of Egypt with Moses, was the one that lead led them into the Promised Land. So, he’s talking about physical death, not eternal death. And Benjamin apparently is hung up. Thank you Benjamin for the question and we appreciate that call. We’re going to try to take your call if you’ll call in right now.

It’s 1-800-576-3771. We know that Carl calls in here off air and he says, please explain Act 6-8-8-6. It looks like Stephen and Philip had power to do miracles. I thought this was for only the apostles. And the answer is no. Many believers had the gift to do miracles. But again it was short and it was a temporary gift until the completion of the New Testament. You’ll find early on in the book of Acts quite a number of miracles spoken about, but then as you went further along or go further along in the book of Acts, you see miracles kind of disappearing.

It was only during those early years before the New Testament was written that they could do miracles, but yes, absolutely. Stephen and Thump had the power to do miracles, and that is absolutely a correct answer there, Karl. So, thank you for that question. I’m Dr. Anglinson. This is my Blind. Again, we want to announce tomorrow night we’re starting the teaching on the Gospel of John two hours seven till nine for six Tuesdays and we’d love to have you in the classroom.

But if you live too far to be able to drive, you can from anywhere on the planet earth take the Gospel of John the class that I’m teaching by way of internet. All you have to do is call and sign up and for the gift of $60 will give you the passcode. You’ll need a user ID and a passcode and you’ll be able to watch these classes live and as often as you like, thread all the six weeks of teaching and then usually for another month after that.

Also if you sign up and give a gift of $100 to Bible and that’ll really help us out, we’ll also include when the classes are finished the 12 CDs, the 12 hours of teaching on CD sent to your house as well. So you really get a real bargain there if you sign up early and get the $100 special. That will help my blind through the summer and we’re going to also have a great time. The Gospel of John is one of those wonderful, wonderful books in the New Testament that everybody will want to be very familiar with and we’re going to through it verse by verse and I will do that in 12 hours of teaching and I hope that you’re one of my students.

We’d love to have you in the classroom or watching on the internet. We’re now going to go to the phone lines. We have Mike sitting out there and Mike is calling in from somewhere but I don’t know where. Mike, welcome to Bibleline your on the air. Hi Mike, where you calling from? I’m calling from Clearwater, sir. Okay. I wanted to ask you I was listening to that Grace TU program yesterday and he was saying and Alright, well that’s correct.

The Bible says in 1997 the same thing that narrow is the way that leads into life and few are those that find it and broad as the way that leads to destruction and many are those which enter their end. They’re at so apparently the majority people do not find the truth and do not trust the Lord. Satan is good at blinding people and many of them choose religions that will take him right to hell. You have to trust Christ.

He is the only way to heaven, not a religion, not a set of rules, but Jesus himself is the Savior. According to the Bible, whosoever believeth in Christ would not perish but have everlasting life. We are coming upon our break time. We hope that you will continue to listen to the second half hour of Bibleline after the break. We also hope that you will consider helping Bibleline the summer months of the lean months for giving in all Christian ministries.

Bible and there’s no exception. If you could help Bible and at this time ensure up our finances over the summer, that would be great. You can do it by credit card over the phone or you can mail a gift to Bible and God bless all of you who do. We’re going to go to break. We’ll be right back. It’s Monday and we’ll be here at Lord willing all week long. We hope that you’ll be joining the program every day. We want to praise the Lord for all of our listeners and welcome all of you that are listening in many different parts of the country to our live broadcast, but also many that listen on the internet around the world.

I talked to a young lady last night, she and her husband are missionaries and children of missionaries and they said that their folks are actively working in Korea and they listen to the Bible and over there, that she has introduced them to Bible and talked to a young lady this morning on the phone from Freeport and the Bahamas. She said she listens every day on the internet. So we’re excited about the fact that we get reports from all over the world.

We had a wonderful email last week from India, a fellow that listens to the Bibleline there. God is blessing and He is using the Bibleline program by the internet all over the world. We thank God for all of you that are listening by broadcast. We are very excited about the class I am going to be teaching tomorrow night, the Gospel of John, verse by verse. We will do the over a six week period, two hours every Tuesday night from seventh to nine.

During the class is live and also in archive all week long as often as you like. So that’s exciting. If you want to do that by internet it’s a cost of $60. The same as the cost for being in the classroom here. If you come and sign up tomorrow night it’ll be $60.

But obviously if you want to get in on our special for $100 when the classes are over, we’ll send you 12 CDs, 12 hours of teaching. The entire class will come to you on CD as a special bonus. And by the way, if you can’t afford the class, just let us know and we’ll try to work with you because we don’t want anyone to not come because of lack of funds. We want you to learn the word of God, but we are also trying of course to keep Bible and use this to help Bible and pay its bills.

So if you would take the class and consider this a donation to help Bible and that would be great. We sure do. Thank you for tuning in today and we hope that you’ll be listening all this week. Tell your friends about the program, help us grow our audience. And also, if you can, go watch our worship services. Those are free on the Internet. Go click on that camera on the homepage. Read the articles that I’ve written, Dr. Hank Owens from the the hanker lunchrooms articles at the bottom of the right hand side of the home page and check out the many other things that we have there.

We’re going to rejoin the stations that have been on break and do the second half of Bible and so I hope you’ll join me and that’ll be in about two more seconds. Here we go. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom.

Alright, we’re back from that break and this is Bibleline. We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida. In any case, we’re teaching a brand new class tomorrow night.

Beginning tomorrow night we’ll teach the Gospel of John for 12 hours of teaching six weeks, two hours every night from 7 to 9 starting tomorrow night. We’d love to have you in the classroom and if you sign up, it’s for a gift of $60. If you can’t afford it, just tell me and we’ll try to work a deal for you because we want you to come. We’ll give you a scholarship if we have to. But we want you to come and it’s not about money.

But we would like to help Bibleline through the summer by you’re helping us by taking the class and giving a gift to Bibleline. Also tomorrow night you can take the class if you’re in another city on the internet. If you call up and pay the fee, we’ll give you the user code and the password and you’ll be able to watch these live and also as often as you want. I hope you’ll be a part of that. We’re going to go to the phone lines here and if you would like to call in the phone Number is 1-800-576-3771. Also, summer is a lean time as far as Christian giving all ministries experience it, churches as well. And so if you would like to help Bible on during this summertime kind of a slump giving you might say, this is a wonderful time to come to our aid. And if you would like to help us, that would be great.

You can send a gift by mail or you can give one by credit card over the phone. God bless all of you who listen to and are helping Bible and by your gifts. God bless you and thank you in advance. We’re going to go up to New York now. We have Rome New York. We have Tony and Tony is on the line. Tony, welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Good morning, Dr. Hank. Good morning. My question is on X-5-19 where it says in the King James Version, the angel of the Lord.

to Burnham and Geth, it was Ann Angel of the Lord. I was just wondering what translation is correct on that. Well, I think the Angel of the word is exclusively used in the Old Testament and there it’s always a preincarnate appearance of Jesus. So this is not Jesus appearing there in John 5, so it has to be we believe Ann Angel. And so I believe that would be correct and I certainly agree with Vernon McGee. He is certainly a great Bible teacher and I would be in agreement with that.

So that would be the answer I believe. In the New Testament that is not necessarily the case. In the Old Testament every time, without exception, whenever you read about the angel of the Lord, it is talking about Jesus. And so Jesus appeared many times in the Old Testament and he appeared to Abraham and he is there called the angel of the Lord and so on throughout the Old Testament. So he made many appearances and that’s the answer for you Tony.

Okay, great. Can I ask you one more question? Sure, go ahead. I’m in a Bible study with someone that I disagree with on some major doctrine. He believes that salvation is a process. He believes that you could lose your salvation. He believes that baptism is necessary for salvation. And my question is, should I remain in a study with someone who I disagree with on such major doctrines like this? Obviously you are to have no fellowship with him. Now, if you’re kind of a leading to Christ and you can have input and he’s listening to you that would be fine.

But otherwise, that’s a no win for you. You really shouldn’t be in a Bible study where you’re both equally as far as your position because he’s clearly wrong. Unfortunately, his whole position is works because obviously just from what you said, there are things that he has to do to be saved. that makes him the Savior not Christ, whereas the Bible teaches clearly that Christ paid it all. There is nothing remaining for us to do. I love Hebrews 1-3 where it says Christ by himself purged our sins.

That completely leaves us out. And you see it in the wonderful example that Christ gives us with the two thieves dying on the cross, the one that was saved did nothing but simply believe he wasn’t baptized. He didn’t join the church. He didn’t live the Christian life. He couldn’t make restitution for his evil deeds. He simply trusted. And Jesus said, today, now she’ll be with me in paradise. So there’s something real wrong with what this man is saying because certainly it doesn’t agree with the Bible.

But if you’re able to let, if he’s listening and you’re able to lead him to Christ, that’d be great, but otherwise I wouldn’t be in the Bible study with him. Okay, great. Thank you, Dr. Hank. All right, thank you, Tony. And the Bible says in Ephesians 5, 11, have no fellowship with the unprovable works of darkness. So you can believe people in Christ, but fellowship is a different ballgame when you have an evening playing ground as though you’re both are right.

That doesn’t really work. Thank you, Tony. We have Reuben in Tampa, Florida, and he leaves an all-fair question for us. How can one be saved without works? I’m studying with the Jehovah’s Witness. Well, you’re studying with the wrong group because they certainly are terribly wrong. They reject Christ and the Bible tells us in 1 John, you ought to write this one down, Ruben, and I think you ought to stop your study with the witnesses because they are a false group.

But in 1 John 2, let me just share with you what it says. It says in chapter 2, verse 22, who is a liar? But he that denyeth that Jesus is the Christ. He is antichrist, the denyeth the Father and the Son. Then it says in verse 23, whosesoever denyeth the Son, the same hath not the Father. Think about that. Because the Jehovah’s Witnesses deny the Son, they don’t have the Father or they don’t have Jehovah. Can you imagine a Jehovah’s Witness not having Jehovah?

It’s, it’s, it’s, it’s, I’m laughing, but it’s sad. I mean, it breaks my heart. These people don’t have Jehovah, yet they claim to be Jehovah’s Witness. Look at you, what? Second John. This is also incredible. It says that if a person does not abide in the doctrine of Christ, verse 9 of 2 John. It says, whosoever, byeth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. So according to this verse, the Jehovah’s Witnesses are not only fatherless or Jehovahless, but they are godless.

They don’t have God. Because if you deny the Son, then you have denied the Father, and you don’t have God nor the Father. But it It says in 1st John 2, 23, he that acknowledges the Son has the Father also. In any case, we’re saved without works because our works can’t save us. The Bible says in Isaiah 64, 6, that our best righteous deeds are filthy rags in God’s sight. Isaiah 64, 6. And the Bible tells us that Jesus completely paid our sin debt, so there’s nothing left for us to pay.

When Jesus was on the cross, He used the phrase, it is finished. That means He completely paid our sin debt while He was still on the cross, not later. Interesting, isn’t it? So, the witnesses are trying to work their way to heaven. Unfortunately, they’ll never make it. They deny Jesus, who is the Savior, claiming He’s Michael the Archangel, which is certainly not true, and that He’s not God, and therefore they’re lost. They are fatherless, godless and they’re lost and I would stop studying with the witnesses immediately.

Thank you for your call. We’re now going to go to Irvin in Lakeland, Florida and Irvin woke them to buy one on the air. You’re on the air. Don’t listen to the radio because it’s 20 seconds behind. Oh, I’m sorry. Yeah, I had a question about the rapture. I was watching a program about the book of Revelation. Well, if they’re looking for the word rapture, no, but the rapture is there in chapter 4 verse 1 where John sees a door in heaven open, and then he hears a voice that says, come up hither.

And John is caught up. The word rapture means caught up. And there John representing the church age is caught up and from that point on the church is no longer mentioned in the book of Revelation Christ gives a message to the seven churches in Asia Minor in chapters 2 and 3 and Profetically that’s been a picture of church history over the past two thousand years the church at Ephesus being a picture of the first century church and moving all the way down to the Laodicean church, a picture of the church as we see it today, a lukewarm church that is more concerned about being entertained and material things than they are spiritual things.

And so at the end of the age, then there’s a door open in heaven. There’s a voice. The voice of Christ sounds like a trumpet. And he says, come up, Hitler. John is caught up. That’s the rapture. And after that, that the church is no longer mentioned because now we are on Jewish territory and we find that God is going to be dealing with Israel and Christ will come back in chapter 19, set up a kingdom that Revelation 20 tells us six times will be for a thousand years in length, then this earth will be destroyed by fire and God creates a new heaven, some new earth in chapters 21 and 22 of Revelation speak about eternity.

But the rapture is there but if you are looking for the word rapture it is nowhere in the Bible. Okay. Very much. All right. Thank you for calling in. That was Ervin in Lakeland, Florida. We have Tony in Tampa, Florida. Tony, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hi, good morning. Concerning the, doesn’t the Bible says, the soul that finished, it shall die. But now, that’s exactly what Benjamin was saying earlier in the program. But the word soul in the Old Testament there means really your life, not your soul.

The New Testament, it’s a little bit different there where it says in Matthew 11, 28, or 10, 28, that the soul doesn’t die. You can kill the body, but you can’t kill the soul. But the soul will be cast into hell if you’re lost, and there you’ll be separated from God forever and ever and ever. So the soul doesn’t die, but the body dies. And upon death, your soul and your spirit go to be with the Lord, or if you’re unsaved, go to Hades and ultimately be cast in the helm.

I haven’t finished with that question. You’re right ahead. In Matthew 10, 28, just like you quoted, but if you continue in the reverse, fear of the one, fear not of the one that can kill your body, that cannot kill your soul, that fear of the one that can kill not only your body, but your soul in hell. So God is the only one that can do that, that can destroy the soul. And by the way, when John 3, 16, if anybody is believing Christ, he shall live, but he did not believe it.

He shall perish. That’s the same word as destroyed, destroyed, destroyed. No, it’s not. The word destroyed is up-alumae in the Greek, and it means to lose or to separate. And what happens as Death in the Bible described as a separation, the person that is unsaved will be lost or separated or forever in hell. But the soul will really live on forever and ever. Those in hell will never die. You know, in Matthew and Mark’s Gospel chapter 9, three times Christ said that in Gehenna the Final Hell that the soul will never die and the fire will never be quenched.

So he says it three times, the soul will never die and the fire will never be quenched. So a person in Hell will experience Hell fire and gnashing and weeping of teeth forever and ever and ever. When you read Revelation chapter 14 when it talks about those that are going to be cast in the Hell, it says the smoke of their torment ascended up forever and ever and ever. It says they have no rest day nor night forever and ever and ever.

And it says in Revelation 20 verse 10, there will be torment and day and night forever and ever and ever. So clearly the soul doesn’t die, but it can be separated. The word destroy there doesn’t mean that it’s no longer existent, but simply it means to be lost. is not a word that means A great verse in 2 Thessalonians where it talks about Christ coming back and taking vengeance upon all unbelievers and how they will be separated from God forever.

Let me quote that verse where it says that Christ comes back in flaming fire taking vengeance on those that do not know God. that’s the Lord in one eight those that do not obey the gospel that is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ verse nine who shall be punished with everlasting destruction everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glorious power so again they’re going to be separated forever and ever and ever but never will they cease to exist they will be there forever.

If it is true that what you are saying, then death doesn’t mean death, it means live away from God. Then we should not be talking about death anymore. Well, you’re right. The word death always in the Bible means separation. For example, physical death is the separation of your soul from your body. And then spiritual death is the separation of your soul from God. And the eternal death, the second death the Bible describes, is the separation of your soul body from God in hell forever and ever and ever.

So death never means annihilation. Death always means separation. It’s always used in that sense. And that’s what happened back in the garden when Adam and Eve sinned when they took of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of the guneval. They experienced spiritual death at the instant they took of the fruit. And all of a sudden they’re separated from God. God no longer walked into the cool garden without him and Eve. that he was now separated from them and Adam and Eve were separated from him and that’s spiritual death.

I appreciate your answer but it’s clear also that God, the middle clear that he’s not going to be done away with sin and with sinness and that’s when righteousness would be found anywhere. Well, they’ll be found in hell because in Revelation, you read over there in chapter 21, that the ones that are lost will remain filthy and unrighteous forever in hell. Whereas the righteous or the saved will remain in the Lord’s presence forever and ever and ever. So they’re going to be eternally separate and we’ll never see the lost again, but they will be forever alive as their souls will live forever.

Tony thank you so much it was a good discussion and we’re now going to James in Chester Virginia James welcome to Bibleline yes hello good morning how are you good you ready for my I’m ready. Okay. I’ve been doing some research with someone that is interested in a man at work. This girl is saved but the man is not saved. And I wanted to get some information together for her in relation to the fact that a saved person is not supposed to be even in a relationship but especially not in marriage with someone that’s not saved.

And one day I was in a relationship with a man who was not saved. And one, I remember there in the scripture there, the reference where in the Old Testament where the men of Israel had married, in a Mary with some of the people that God had forbid them to marry, and there was a place where they had been instructed to send their wives away, the wives that they had married, that they were not supposed to marry, to send them away.

Are you able to? able to I can do about tomorrow’s program but I can’t do right now but certainly the New Testament teaches that principle it tells in first Corinthians seven for example if a A person is widowed after they have lost their husband by death or free to remarry, but it says here clearly in verse 39 of 1 Corinthians 7, only in the Lord. She is at liberty to be married to whom she will if the husband has died, but only in the Lord she is to marry another believer.

Second Corinthians chapter 6 talks about not being unequally yoked with an unbeliever. So believers are not to marry unbelievers. It says quite clearly in verse 16 of 2 Corinthians 6, it says what agreement? It says in verse 15, has an unbeliever. We don’t have a fellowship or connection. And so it says that we shouldn’t tie ourselves together with somebody who’s unsafe. So the rule in the Bible is always a believer should marry another believer. And obviously I think that was the point where Israel was not to marry these other races or these other nations because they worshipped false gods and they were not to marry.

It is throughout the Bible and I hope that helps you there in Chester Virginia James. We are now going to John in Richmond Virginia. John, welcome to Bibleline Your Honor. Hello. Hi John. Hello. Hello, I’m out of black girl, so you just playing to our Japa first John three and three through seven All right, we’ll do that person First John 3 is talking about those that are born again and we have a new birth of God which is not capable of sinning.

It is a sinless birth which is of God. The wonderful truth here, it says here, behold, verse 1, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us that we should be called the sons of God. So we as a believer have a brand new birth and it is a birth of God. According to verse 9, whatsoever is born of God to not commit sin. For his seed remains in him, that is God’s seed remains in him, and he cannot sin because he is born of God.

At the same time, we have the seed of man in us. We have had a birth related back to Adam, and Adam’s sinful nature has been passed to us. So we also find that we do sin. In 1 John, the same book in chapter 1 and verse 8, John, the apostle says, if we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. So what we have going on here in 1 John is there are two births and two natures and that every believer has to contend with the struggle that goes on between the flesh nature and the spirit nature that the believer has both.

Now Paul, the apostle, thirty years after he was saved tells about this struggle over in chapter 7. I think this will help enlighten you John up there in Richmond, Virginia. It says in verse 18 of Romans 7, I know that in me that is in my flesh dwelleth no good thing. Paul said this 30 years after he got saved. He says, for the will is present with me, but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not, but the evil that I would not, that I do.

So Paul was saying he had a struggle going on here. He had in his flesh a sinful nature that obviously did not want to please God and at the same time he had a new nature, a sinless nature and there was a war going on. It says in verse 23, I see in verse 22, I see I delight in the law of God after the inward man. That’s the new birth that is of God’s seed. But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind and bringing me into captivity to the law sin which is in my members.

And then he says, Oh, Richard, man that I am, who shall deliver me from the body? You see, it is our flesh nature, our body that is still causing us a great deal of grief in this life. But when you’re born again, you have a new birth and that new birth is righteous and holy and sinless and cannot sin. So this is what John is talking about there in 1 John, the new birth which is sinless and the old birth of Eventually we’ll be taken away by death or at the rapture we will not have the capacity to be able to sin anymore.

We’re now going to Dave in Clearwater, Florida and he says in X chapter 6 verses 1 through 2 are these the same 12 at Pentecost I think. In X chapter 6 there you probably have the generic term for the 12. was a term used of the apostles and it was understood that this is that group that was with Christ before. We know that Judas commit a suicide and Paul doesn’t come along until chapter 9 of the book of Acts but I believe he is the apostle that replaced Judas.

But I think that phrase, the 12, we see another place where it says about Matthias that he was numbered with the 12. The 12 is a generic term that is talking about the 12 apostles, but there were only 12 and Paul replaced Judas. We have Jim and Oldsmar Ford calling in off air and he says, please explain the error of the teaching of Joel Olster. He’s mostly a positive thinker and motivational speaker. But on his interview with Larry King Live, you can go on the internet and Google it and get it up real quick.

But about 20 times he’s asked a very good question by Larry King and he said, I don’t know, I don’t know, I don’t know. How many times on the program? And to very important questions like, would a person who dies without Christ go to hell? He said, I don’t know. Does a person have to trust Christ? Did he go to heaven? I don’t know. Obviously, that’s pretty serious and I would hate to ask him how to go to heaven if he didn’t know the answer.

So he’s not obviously one who seems to understand or know what the Bible has to say. So watch out for the teaching of Joel’s thing. We have to run. The time has run out. Don’t forget we’ll teach a new class tomorrow. You can sign up over the phone by take it by internet or come out and sign up and take it and prove it real high person tomorrow night.
