You’ll be able to see them not only live, but as often as you will throughout the entire course.
For a special we’re running right now, if you call up and give a gift of $100, we’ll also include the 12 CDs. That would be normally a lot more money, but you can get the internet passcode, watch the classes. When the classes are completed after 12 weeks, you’ll also get 12 CDs, the 12 hours of teaching on the Gospel of John. This is going to be a great class. The wonderful book every Christian needs to be familiar with John’s Gospel, and there are some wonderful truths in there.
I think you’ll enjoy as we teach verse by verse through this wonderful book. Thanks again for tuning in today and we hope that you’ll take advantage of all these things that are happening. We’re very excited to learn that in Chattanooga, Tennessee, we have there a station that really has blessed us by putting us on four times a day. That’s right, we’re on four hours a day in Chattanooga and that is we’re on a 10 in the morning, 4 in the afternoon, 10 at 9 in 4 a.m.
in the morning and that’s for an hour, times a day and also they’re bonusing us on the weekends and that’s except for the time at 10 o’clock in the morning that’s a wonderful bonus thank God for those folks up there in Chattanooga but enjoy the Bible and of course thank you for all the other stations that were on as well and I know nationally they play us at I think 1 in the morning for an hour and we’re excited about that as well a lot of people are listening at that hour and we’re We’re so glad for all the stations that are on.
If you’re on one of the new stations, we are glad to be on in Jacksonville, WYMM, and that’s every day at 10 o’clock in the morning as well. That’s a powerful station reaching into Southern Georgia and all across the northeast part of the state of Florida. We hope that you’re enjoying a Bibleline every day, and don’t forget we have a Resource Center. You can look at that on the Internet as well. Go to BibleLineMinistries.org or dot com. Click on the online bookstore.
You’ll see the many resources we have, including many of my teachings on CD or DVD. Plus the Schofield Bible that we recommend so highly. We have that in a soft cover, hard cover, leather and large print. You’re certainly going to be in for a real blessing if you get yourself a Schofield Bible. The problem is when you go to the Christian bookstore, they don’t sell the old book old anymore and the new ones are kind of watered down. They add notes that were not by Dr.
Scoville. Many of the older notes have been watered down and are kind of bland. They lose the punch and I just don’t recommend the newer ones. So if you’re looking for it, make sure you get the 1909 or 1917 edition and of course that’s what we have here at our Bibleline resource center. We hope you’ll take advantage. We have concordances, commentaries, many things that will help you in learning God’s Word. In addition to tracks, we have the greatest book of evangelism ever written on the one-on-one.
That’s the handbook of personal evangelism. That’s just a gift of $12. We have that also in Spanish. We also have the Scofield Bible in Spanish. And it’s kind of a neat one because we have on the one side of the page, it’s the Spanish and the Spanish notes. And on the other side of the page, it’s English and the English notes by Dr. Scofield. That’s kind of a real treasure. And you can jump back and forth and read the English in English.
and read the Spanish if you’re able to do that. We’re going to go to the Bible for a few minutes, and if you have your Bible, you might want to open it up. If you have questions, you can call in and leave your question off here, or you can call in and be on the air, live with us at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. And we invite you to give us a call here on Bible on. We’re going to turn to the book of Romans, And here’s a passage that has caused some people confusion.
But it shouldn’t. It’s really quite clear as Paul is explaining the Apostle Paul God’s plan for the Gentiles during this age and how that Israel, because they as a nation rejected their Messiah, have been in a sense put on the bench temporarily. But this wonderful chapter says God’s not through with Israel. In fact, a Messiah is coming and Israel will be saved. And of course, it’s talking about all those, of course, that trust Jesus Christ as their Savior. Let’s take a look at this wonderful chapter.
First of all, it says in verse 1, I say then, have God cast away His people and the answer is God forbid. And He’s talking about the Jewish people. He says, I am also an Israelite of the seed of Abraham of the tribe of Benjamin. God did not cast away his people, which he foreknew. So here he tells us that God is set through with Israel. How wonderful. Then of course he tells us that we are saved by grace.
In verse 6, one of my favorite verses, it says, if you are saved by grace, then it is no more of works. Otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace, otherwise work is no more work. What he’s saying here is that you can’t mix the two. You’re either saved by God’s grace, receiving God’s wonderful mercy based not upon merit or works, but based upon what Jesus Christ accomplished for you at the cross.
When you trust Him, God saves you and saves you eternally. And that is of course good news. What is scary here, and it’s not splitting a hair, but it’s really what the gospel is and is not. If you had any works to grace, you’ll have no grace. And if you have no grace, you’ll not make heaven. And so anybody who’s attempting to be saved by anything that they are doing or not doing is a means of a part of their salvation won’t receive God’s grace, it will not be saved.
Isn’t that amazing? It says in the second half of Romans 11, 6, if it be of works, then it is no more grace. Otherwise, work by definition isn’t work. So basically, if you add any works, then you will not have any grace. The Bible is very consistent on that. Salvation is not of yourself. It’s the gift of God. It’s not of works, lest any man should boast. In verse 7 Paul in Romans 11 verse 7 says what then? Israel has not attained that which he seeketh for, but the election has obtained it and the rest were blinded.
So here it talks about Israel for the most part, having blinders over their eyes, missing the gospel and not coming to know Christ as their Savior. And as a result, God has turned to us Gentiles. says in verse 11, I say then have they stumbled that they should fall. God forbid the Bible says, but rather through their fall, salvation has come under the Gentiles. I’m a Gentile and most believers in this age are Gentiles, but then it goes on to say, for to provoke them to jealousy.
The Bible is very plain that the best witnesses to Jewish people are Gentiles. Are you believing that? That’s right. When a Jewish person tells another Jewish person about Jesus, they are often seen as traitors to the Jewish faith and they are not listened to. In fact, they are ostracized and sometimes they are spoken to anymore. But a Gentile can get away with it. And so we Gentiles are able to provoke Jews to jealousy so that they would get saved, but they have to trust Christ in order.
It says in verse 14, if by any means I may provoke to jealousy them which are of my flesh, that is the Jewish people and might save some of them. That was Paul’s desire that he might win them to Christ. But then he talks about here many of the Jewish people, although they were of the true olive tree, were broken off because of their unbelief. It says, don’t we as Gentiles in verse 18, don’t boast against the branches, but if they are boast, they’ll bear us not the root, but the root thee.
In other words, we have a connection to Judaism, we have a connection to the Old Testament. Jesus Christ is a Jewish Messiah, and He fulfilled the prophets, the Old Testament Jewish prophets and what they said. As we find here, it tells us here, if God spared not the natural branches, it says, take He also not spare thee. Now he’s not talking about an individual who’s gotten saved being lost, but he’s talking about that this age is going to come to an end and as we come to the end and we see more unbelief within what is called the church.
And the church drifts away from sound doctrine that all of a sudden God’s going to conclude this age and what will happen? He’ll turn back to the Jewish people who are called the natural branches, whereas we Gentiles are called the wild branches that have been grafted into that root, which is of course the Bible in Christ as Christ being the Savior. So notice it623, behold, therefore the goodness and severity of God on them which fell severity. That’s the Jewish people, but toward the goodness, then it says if I’ll continue this goodness, because this age will also come to a conclusion just like God judged Israel because of their rejection of the Messiah, but has a future plan that he will pick up on right after the Rapture.
He will also judge the Gentiles as we depart away from the truth. Verse 23 says, and they also, if they abide not still an unbelief, shall be grafted in. So Jewish people can be saved, and when they are become believers that are grafted back in to the natural tree, the natural olive tree as they are the natural branches and they are grafted back in. But when we believe we are the wild branches and we are grafted in. But it talks about here that corporately that the Jewish people were really broken off, the natural branches were broken off and we Gentiles have been grafted in.
But it’s not talking about a same person being lost, it’s talking about corporately the whole nation of the Jewish people and also the Gentiles as a large group of people that are not of the stock of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. And so we find here that they of course are going to come to the Lord and it says in verse 25, I would not brethren that you should be ignorant of this mystery unless you should be wise in your own conceits.
But blindness in part is happened to Israel. And then it says, until the fullness of the Gentiles become in. The fullness of the Gentiles, I believe, is when the body of Christ, the Gentile age, comes through a conclusion that’s at the rapture. And once that happens, and were caught up, then God resumes His plan for Israel, and He says over in verse 26 of this wonderful chapter, and so all Israel shall be saved, as it is written. There shall come out of Zion the deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob.
Remember Jacob is the name that is used for Jacob when he was unsaved, the night he wrestled with the angel of the Lord which was Christ, back in Genesis, he became saved, he trusted Christ, and his name was changed to Israel, which means child of God. So Jacob was born again when he trusted Christ, and during the tribulation period, many Jewish people will trust Christ as their Savior and become Israel. And so it’s not everybody who is at the senate of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob that go of heaven, but only those that are born again, or become children of God, or those that are saved, those that trust Christ as their Savior.
And this is talking about when Jesus comes back. At that point, He kills or slays every unbeliever on the earth, and only those that are left that are believers will enter into the thousand year reign of Christ. And among the Jewish descendants, obviously only believers will be left, and so they are all, therefore, true Israel. And so only believers being left among the Jewish people, they are said to be all saved, so all Israel shall be saved. But we know they’re saved by grace through faith, and it’s forever and ever.
You know, once you trust Christ, you can never be lost. While I’m out of here, let me go to a great verse, verse 29. It says, the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. That’s one of the forms of the word repent, amelatized, and metamines change as we know when we talk about metanoia. And A in front of meta means no change. And actually this is translated in some places, irrevocable. What it’s saying here in verse 29 is that the gifts and calling of God are without a change of mind on the part of God.
God does not change his mind. So therefore they are irrevocable. And in Romans 11, 29 it says the gifts and calling of God are without repentance or ametha the Greek word, which means there is no change of mind on God’s part, and obviously therefore they are irrevocable. So really it’s a great eternal security verse. Is salvation the gift of God? The Bible says yes, the gift of God is eternal life. And it says here that it’s irrevocable. So once you get saved, you’re stuck.
Isn’t that a great verse? I hope you mark that down someplace. Romans 11, 29, the gifts and calling of God are met the Militas. The two words, without repentance, are one Greek word, amethamilitas. It means no change of mind on the part of God. They are irrevocable. Once you get saved, you’re stuck like that. Tell people you have to go to heaven, whether you like it or not. Tough break. Too bad. So sad. Anyway, great to be with you today.
I’m Dr. Englunds from the Bible and we’re coming to you out of Tampa, Florida, live here at 10 o’clock every morning. We hope you’ll tune us in every day. So look for us on that dial every day right now where you’re listening and also you can go to the internet, catch the full program and also listen to us anytime, day or night. We’re going to go to the phone lines here in just a moment. The phone number is 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771.
We’re going to start that class tonight. If you’re in driving distance, call the Gospel of John. First by verse for six weeks, 12 hours of teaching, you can also call in and sign up, get the and take it on the internet from anywhere on the planet Earth. We’re going to go to Carol and she’s in St. Petersburg and Carol, welcome to Bibleline your On The Air. Hello. I never get tired of hearing you repeat the Gospel and you do it so well.
Thank you. And I just think sometimes we get so discouraged when we just keep giving it to our relatives, and our friends, and our neighbors, and how they just repeatedly turn down the truth and their ears and don’t live and how sad we are when we realize the wrath of God is on them. You know, the wrath of God is going to hit them because they’ve rejected Jesus. And then I was thinking about Noah. And sometimes, you know, we think Noah just had three sons and that was the standard of his family.
But he had to have cousins and uncles and brothers and sisters and aunts and nieces and nephews and close neighbor friends. He had to have so many people who heard his message and who rejected it and how that must have just broken his heart to know that the wrath of God was coming on them and they were not going to, they didn’t care and they wouldn’t take advantage of the ark and they wouldn’t get in. I think that’s why God had to just shut the door and lock it because his heart must have just been breaking to leave these people they loved so much behind.
Sometimes we don’t think about what it costs Noah, as he kept for 120 years telling people, telling them. And so we have no guarantees that when we keep telling that same wonderful story that anybody’s gonna listen to us either, but we just have to keep telling it. And then you’re absolutely right. And I just appreciate you telling it. And I know I have so many that I know who have rejected it and I get into your tapes even. And they just wanna do it by work and they don’t want the gift and they don’t want to get in the arc and be safe.
But Noah just gives me encouragement because I realized he just kept at it and he was saved and they weren’t because he didn’t try to get the message to them. Amen. You know he was for 120 years. Can you imagine witnessing and have nobody get saved in 120 years? That’s quite remarkable. And obviously that’s an encouragement to me to keep going. Obviously he was successful. Our success isn’t rated on how many people respond. If we’re giving you an out clear and in love, God is going to bless you for that faithfulness.
That was true of Noah. By the way, in God’s Hall of Fame in the Old Testament, there are verses that list three guys that are particularly special and Noah is one of those three. The other two… Yeah, well the other one was what? Noah and… Noah and Job and Daniel. And Daniel. Yeah. Those are the three that were really high on the list of God’s favorites. They just all were men of great faith and really stood tall and believed God.
Well, there was a place in the Bible where God said even if Daniel or Noah or Job asked me to do this, I would not be able to do it for you. can’t change his word can he has to be true to what he has spoken and that’s absolutely true but thank you for your faithfulness and we’re hanging in there with the gospel all right thank you Carol thank you Carol in St. Petersburg and you’re right well I’ll tell you sometimes people when they hear it don’t want to hear it and ultimately they’re going to be responsible for having rejected the wonderful gospel of Jesus.
We’re not going to go to John and he’s up in Eustis, Florida and John, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yeah, good morning Pastor Hank. And I do call you Pastor Hank because, you know, the Word of God gave you that title in Ephesians 4-11. I have a question for you concerning what What happens to the spirit of the Jew that has died before Christ? Well, if they are saved, then they are with the Lord today. Now prior to the cross, every Old Testament believer wound up in paradise which was in the heart of the earth.
And when Christ died, that’s where he went. He says in Matthew 1240 that he’d be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. the dying thief got saved. He told that dying thief in Luke 23, 43, today thou shalt be with me in paradise. So we know paradise was in the heart of the earth. And because sin had not yet been paid for, they had to wait. All the Old Testament believers had to wait until the final payment had been made for sin.
Then Jesus opens up paradise and has now vacated to the place and taken paradise to heaven. So we now know that believers that have died Jewish or otherwise are with the Lord just as all the Old Testament saints are with the Lord in heaven today. So today this side of the cross for all of us, it’s absent from the body, present with the Lord, second Corinthians 5, 8. That’s a great verse to memorize and to be familiar with. And John, I hope that helps.
yes it does and i like that also a lot comment about alanzi uh… you know for one for him we wouldn’t really know the truth about what’s going on in israel but i do notice though that he does do a lot of clothing from the n i d and the n asp and i was wondering why he doesn’t try to use the king james more often and i don’t know the answer that either i’d have to ask him i guess i can yes and and uh…
that’s that’s not a good thing to do so we’ll just leave it at that but lately especially how Lindsay has been coming out very strong uh… to speak out about what’s happening in the Middle East and seems like our american news has got a big blackout and we’re not hearing very much at all but things are heating up right now and uh… believe the levannese army has now come under attack from al-qaeda with rockets that are uh… being uh…
brought into the country under their noses and Obviously, I think al-Qaeda and Syria want to take over Lebanon and make it a part of Syria and Absolutely get rid of this government right now in Lebanon and take over the Lebanese army It’s a scary thing for the people in Lebanon and we’re seeing them at least heat up again right now Yes, and I also saw that the president is going to to donate some American dollars to the Palestinians? A lot of money is gonna go to the Palestinians and I hope they are careful at how it’s used.
Opens up for weapons, but I’m hoping it’s just for food and supplies and medicines and humanitarian needs, but a lot of times when that money gets there, it gets used for all the wrong things. And the same thing with Pakistan, we’re gonna send a low to, a boat of money over there to people that actually hate us and and and the people that the government of Pakistan and salt can’t control that hate Americans and hate America and are on the side of the of the jihad and the Islamic radicals who want to kill all this here in America as well.
Yes. Well, I want to say thank you very much Pastor Hank. I enjoy your ministry and I enjoy listening to someone who He divides the word of truth. Thank you very much, God. Just like you say, God bless. And keep looking up because Jesus is coming. I love that. Thanks a lot. God had used this Florida calling. We have David in Richmond, Virginia. David walked through the Bibleline. We don’t have much time. We’re coming up on the break. Okay, so what is your question?
Yes, sir. Good morning, Dr. Lindstrom. You had said a couple of weeks ago I was listening to you that you with one of the people who I was wondering if you had. No, that was just he and I sitting in his living room, but there are some audio tapes out where he has publicly come out with some of those same statements. If you’ll call after the program, I’ll let you know how you can go ahead and find some of those.
some of those but uh… yeah that’s not the frank logston and he was a past past of the moody memorial church in chicago wrote a number of books a real wonderful fellow and uh… a great heart but he was uh… he felt snooker dot in the devil really uh… had him do something that he later regretted he did so uh… we have to go to break we hope that you’ll uh… stay with us and uh… going the second half hour bible and thank you david for calling in from richmond and we’ll be right back so don’t go away i’ll be right back don’t go away by the line will be back in a moment give us a call it one eight hundred five seven six three seven seven one that’s one eight hundred five seven six thirty seven seventy one all right i’m not going to live from in this great to be with you today let me
tell you we’re gonna have a great class beginning tonight now many of you of course uh… can’t drive here to be in the classroom but guess what through the uh… technology we have today you’re going to be able to take this class from anywhere in the world. All you have to do is sign up and get the passcode. And if you go to my website and you go to the home page, you click on the camera, you go to the left, you’ll see a place that says classes.
And you click on that and it’ll be a place there to put a user ID and a passcode. And you’ll be into the classes whenever and as often as you want to watch them. So you could do that. If you call in today and we are asking for a gift of $60, that is $5 for every hour of teaching and that will help by the line but also allow you to watch these programs as often as you want throughout the course of this teaching for 12 hours, 6 weeks, 2 hours every night beginning tonight and we hope that you will be a part of that teaching.
Then of course we are offering a special right now if you give us a gift of $100 that will will also include when your classes are over sending you the 12 CDs of the 12 hours of teaching that you’ll have that to use until the Lord comes back. So you might want to do that. That’ll help by the line. It will. You know, the summer months or the lean months forgiving, I think almost every Christian organization will tell you that churches and missions groups and everybody seems to take a short fall during the summer.
This would be a great time for you to help shore us up and keep us strong and going here at Bible and we could use your help. We really could. And this would be a good time to do it. You can call in and give a gift to Bible and by calling our 1-800-Dumber and you can do it by credit card. You can also call and ask for an envelope to be sent to you with our address on it and mail an offering in.
And by the way, if you take the classes, that helps you and helps us too. It’s a win-win for us all. And of course, these classes, I think, are very valuable. I’ve taught for three different Bible colleges. I taught 11 years from the Moody Bible Institute of Chicago. And I love to teach. And I think you’re going to find these will be very, very valuable and very rich. And you’ll want to listen to them again and again. And the CDs are a wonderful way to be able to do that.
We hope that you’ll pray for Bible and through the summer months and pray God prospares. and we’re excited about how really we have response from around the world by people tuning into the Bibleline show on the Internet. We have got to go back to the station that’s been on break. We’re going to do the second half hour. I hope you’ll continue with me if you don’t have it on your station for the second half hour, go to the Internet and you’ll catch the full program.
Here we go to the second half hour of Bibleline. you like to call by the line and ask doctor lins from a question you can just pick up your phone and dial one eight hundred five seven six three seven seven one that’s one eight hundred five seven six thirty seven seventy one now here again is doctor hank lins from all right we’re back for that break in this is by the line of doctor hank linship it’s wonderful to be with you thanks for tuning in and uh…
here we are A little bit more than halfway through the summer. I hope you’re enjoying Bibleline every day and we get some wonderful notes. I’m gonna have to just keep them right in front of me here so I can read some of them to you. We get people telling us how they got the same, how they have grown in the Lord. I got a wonderful letter from a station manager who said that he looks forward to listening to Bibleline every day.
He’s learning so much and has created such a desire in him to learn God’s Word. That’s exciting. And we praise the Lord for what God is doing. through the Bible and program and through the internet really it’s world one. Tonight we’re excited that we’re going to start a class on the Gospel of John will be teaching for six weeks, two hours per Tuesday night for six weeks. That’s twelve hours of teaching and you can come tonight and sit in on the class and be a student we’re asking for a gift of sixty dollars.
That’s just really five dollars per class hour. We’re asking you to also, if you want to take it on the internet, to give us that $60 gift and we’ll give you the passcode and you’ll be in and be able to watch these programs. We have a special going on if you give us a gift of $100 to buy a line. We’ll not only give you the passcode to take this class on the Gospel of John over the next six weeks, but also we’ll send you the 12 CDs, the 12 hours of teaching when it’s all over at a greatly reduced price because it cost you a great deal more if you i got the cds without getting the special so the special will give you the past good to take the classes on the internet and in addition it will give you the twelve hours of cds
that will send you after we finish this course that’s exciting and we hope that you’ll uh… the uh… part of the class beginning tonight and uh… i think you’ll enjoy it you can watch it live but also you can go back and watch it in our time by the way you can join us for sunday services on the internet as well if you go to Bibleline Ministries dot org click on the camera and then you’ll see a blank screen right in the middle that becomes live sunday only between eleven and twelve so you go there right now it’ll be blank but if you want to watch past sermons go to your left it’ll say archives and there you’ll find probably about four months of programs sitting there waiting for you to watch i think you’ll enjoy the sunday sermons and by the way you can get the send a sermons on cd a lot of people do that
and if you want to subscribe it’s a gift of thirty dollars the bible and and every month at the end of the month we will package up and send you the cds of all the sunday sermons and a lot of people like have that collection and they use it and pass it along and witness with it it’s very very powerful and I think you’ll enjoy the Bible messages I bring from the pulpit here at Calvary Community Church. Again, the summer months are lean months as far as Christian giving.
All ministries report and experience a lack of giving during the summer for whatever reason. And this would be a great time for you to help Bible and in shore up our expenses to make sure that we’re able to pay them all and stay right where we need to be with Bible and so Would you consider giving a gift during this summer month of July and throughout the summer by giving a gift by credit card over the phone or by giving one through the mail.
You can call and ask for an envelope to be sent with our address on it, and you can mail that gift in to Bible. Don’t forget our resource center. Lots of things there you can order that will also help you very, very much. We have Mark in Jacksonville, Florida and we welcome you Mark to the Bible and program and he’s listening I mean apparently talking to me on a cell phone. Mark welcome to Bibleline Good morning. Yes, it is.
Um, I suppose I’m having a question. I’ve been talking to my mom for a couple years and About the salvation whole thing and it just except me free really to really realize it He’s the Bibleist who gives us the spirit, the token, or whatever, or earnest, or whatever it is to prove that we are His. So I’ve been kind of sharing that because it really has set me free for even the little thing that we do something daily. daily, you know, so, you know, I used to just kick myself so hard because…
because you know I just want to be perfect. But anyway, I’ve been kind of really sharing that because it really is exciting me the fact that you know it’s like it’s a done deal. I don’t have to worry about it. But it’s the fruit of God’s spirit and Christ in me that’s working the good works through me to do good. He’s doing it. He pleases through me. But anyway, my pastor, I love his heart and all this kind of stuff.
And he was saying from God’s perspective, you know, you can’t lose your salvation, but you can turn away. So hence I was thinking okay what about that pasted of it? They’re worse often than they were before, basically. I can’t quote it exactly. You’re talking about 2nd Peter 2.20 and they’re talking about people who were never believers. The whole chapter is talking about false preachers, false teachers. You see that from chapter 1 and all the way down in verse 17.
It says, these are clouds without water and they’re the ones to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever. They’re going to hell. And he goes on and he’ll let us all the pronouns there. they’re they them them them they’re they and It says that these are the ones that is talking about there that if they it doesn’t use the word taste at all It says that they have turned From the holy commandment delivered under them, which is to believe on Christ and as a result It’s worse off because they’ll be whole more accountable You know their degrees of punishment and hell and if you reject greater light than someone else you’ll be punished more greatly in hell because you rejected more and In Matthew’s Gospel, we find it tells us that where it talks about cities that Christ had walked through and preached in and done miracles in.
And he said because they rejected him that they would be worse off in hell than the people saw them because they rejected more light. And so very definitely if a person knows more, hears more and rejects more, he’s going to be responsible for more exactly is the word for it. But nobody who’s ever been saved has ever been lost. Once you’re saved forever, another good one you might want to add to your list is Hebrew 13 5 where Christ says I’ll never leave you.
Now never means never so he’s never going to leave you. In the wildest scenario, let’s say you did wind up in hell. Guess what? Jesus would have to go to hell with you because he says I’ll never leave you. That’s never going to happen. So you can just say, wow, I’m never going to go to hell because Christ will never go to hell. He’s never going to leave me. Christ, as I’ve been walking with the Lord now, it’s like even if I’m straight away, he may let me go to my end of my lease, but he always, it’s almost like he jerks me back or draws me back.
So I might, may have had a received Christ or gift or whatever and gone through that motion. They must have not ever really been saved in if they’re basically turning away. Well, that’s probably the case. You know, it says in Hebrews 12, 8, if a person is not chasin’ where of all of the believers are by the Lord, like you say he’s on your case, if it doesn’t happen, it says you’re a bastard and not a son. In other words, you might claim that you’re Christian, but you’re illegitimately claiming to be Christian in reality you’re a bastard and not one of God’s children because God chasin’ every one of his sons and you’re not going to be able to live as you please as a believer because that’s right you cannot go back to the things you were ashamed of i mean that that’s what happened to me and i’m just
uh… i’m i’m excited from the really in general but because it seems like it’s a god to draw me back to the basic and so i’m just like thank god for that and i’m just like saying it’s like okay well you got to do this to get saved and then when you get saved you got to do all these works to keep it up like that’s not how it works no we don’t even have to really repent i was reading it says if you’re he is if you could he’s faithful and just forgive you it even say really about repenting that fairly well the word we’re going to change of mind and it’s included in in faith when you trust christ you do change your mind from whatever you’re previously trusting in the trusting in christ you see the the greek word and this is the problem the english word
uh… means to turn from sin but the greek word doesn’t mean at all the greek word means a change of mind meta means change noia means mind methanoid the two words mean change of mind and when you trust christ you uh… obviously change your mind in the process for one of your previously trusting in to now trusting in crisis a year so every believer uh… has repented the moment of belief where they realize that i and it just frees you up from a lot of the junk that’s been taught out by a unbelievable unbelievable moment in order to know what i’m going to listen to our program up their jackson as we’re only been up there for a couple weeks so well i have a really look to jackson from their but i’ve actually i’ve started listening to you down in seraphonic about inspector construction
i’m on our for now with it widening things though i’ve been traveling i just caught you in the just it just really confirm what got doing in me and just you know but my is really helpful simplicity of christ a m of it so hard amen i just appreciate you well got what you think you’re calling in the mister alright there is a lot of highway and listening to Bible and we have Benjamin, in Clearwater, we also have a lot of offer questions and we’re trying to start getting to some of those, but we have Benjamin in Clearwater and Benjamin welcome to Bibleline.
Good morning Dr. Hank. My question today is in Revelation 21-22 of the New Year’s Alim, but also mentioned the Lamb. But there we like to know the temple and how that can be the temple. Thank you. All right. Let me go ahead and look at verse up. And it says here in verse 22, I saw no temple therein. It’s talking about the New Jerusalem, the heavenly city that us we believers will live in one day. It says, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
So it answers your question right there. They both are the temple. And the temple obviously is the place where we worship the Lord. So I think it’s in that sense where we have the Lord himself being the temple and we are living in his presence forever there to be able to worship him. You know sometimes the Bible doesn’t really just spell out everything but it’s quite claim that we’ll never have an earthly temple anymore or some other place to go to worship.
But we’ll be really at the feet of Jesus and at the feet of God forever to worship Him directly right there in the New Jerusalem as He’s going to take up residence and live in the New Jerusalem with us, which is very, very exciting. And I think that answers your question. Thank you, Benjamin. We have Bruce calling in from Clearwater Florida and he says you’re speaking about faith teachers. He says I believe Joyce Meyer is one of those. She says that her book, The Most Important Decision You’ll Ever Make, that Jesus paid for sin on the cross and in hell.
Could you please elaborate? Amazing. How many people have bought into the fact that Christ went to hell? One of the problems is the Apostles Creed that says that Christ is sinned into hell. Some of these teachers, including Joyce Meyer, have made a big deal about how Jesus went down there and got into a big scrap with the demons and with Satan. Kenneth Copeland teaches that and most of these faith teachers, these people ask you to put faith in faith, not faith in Christ.
Faith and faith doesn’t get you anywhere. But in any case, they believe that Jesus duked it out or scrapped with the demons and the devil for three days. Finally, Satan thought he had Christ really defeated in hell. Christ pulled some kind of a wonderful punch and catches Satan off guard and defeats the devil and pays the full payment for our sin. This is absolutely nonsense. Christ never went to hell, first of all. Christ went to paradise. He went to the place of comfort where the believers of the Old Testament were waiting in the heart of the earth.
And there he was not in flame and torment. Lord did he wrestle with any demons or Satan, who were by the way up here on the earth, not in the heart of the earth and they’re not in hell. Did you know that there’s nobody in hell right now? This is why this teaching is so wrong. Hell is empty. Satan gets to be the first one in and he’s not there yet. He won’t be cast in until after the thousand year reign of Christ.
In Revelation 20 verse 10, it tells us when the thousand years are expired, then Satan is brought up out of Hades where he’ll be just for the thousand years, but then you’ll be cast into the everlasting lake of fire and you’ll be torn in a day and night forever and ever so uh… this is wrong and of course the apostles creed is wrong that’s why i don’t recite the apostles creed of my church because uh… christ never went to hell and that’s uh…
very misleading teases on the cross said it is finished and that is one word in the greek and it’s an accounting term to tell us that it means full payment has been received for the sin that paid in full is what the Greek word means. In English it’s three words, it is finished, but basically the meaning comes across. It’s done. It’s a done deal as our previous caller said. Jesus paid it all, all to him I owe. Sin had left a crimson stain, but he washed his white snow and he did it all on the cross.
Jesus did not pay for one sin. What was the most important thing to do after he came off for the cross or after he died? He paid for it all on the cross. Thank you Bruce for that question and hopefully that answered it for you. We are now, let me give you the phone number again because we’ve got some more offer questions but the phone if you want to call in right now is a good time. 1-800-576-3771. We’re now going to go to Chuck in Sarasota.
He says, how do you define a fruitless believer and what Scripture helps explain it? Well, John 15 talks about four different categories of Christians. It describes a no-fruit Christian, a fruit Christian, a more fruit Christian, and a much-fruit Christian. John 15, and the difference really is after you’re saved how you are getting the nutrients you need by going to God’s Word and receiving God’s spiritual food Christ’s Word that will keep you alive. In fact, in verse 6, Jesus makes the wonderful statement, without me you can do nothing.
So the believer who ignores the Bible, the believer who doesn’t fellowship with other Christians, the believer that doesn’t pray, is going to be a weak Christian and pretty much ineffective. In order to be able to be a vibrant Christian, he says, I want you to be in me and I in you. And he defines those terms there because to be abiding in Christ, according to John 1510, means you’re keeping Christ commandments, not the Ten Commandments, but the commandments that Christ gave.
And as you do that, you’re abiding in Christ. And And then he says, I in you. And there he defines it, if you read a little bit for this chapter 15, as you take in God’s Word, then like it says in Corinthians, you’ll have the mind of Christ. You’ll know how God thinks what God wants you to do. It’s like people would wear that on their bracelet, www.What Would Jesus Do? WJD. And by the way, I found out that there was a difference.
Teenagers learned so much and they corrected me on this. I thought that it was all the same, WJD. But one was saying that one of them has a question mark like what would Jesus do, but the other one, WJD, means walk with Jesus daily. So both are good, isn’t it? That’s really great. But I was told by some teenager that it has to have the question mark to be really what would Jesus do. But getting back to what I was trying to say, the Word of God helps you to know what Jesus would do so you would know what decisions you need to make.
And so you need to be in Christ and He abided in you and is talking really about the daily interaction between you and the Lord. And the one who is in the Bible, who is listening to Christ, knowing what to do and is making decisions based upon God’s Word, is going to be a fruitful Christian. And by the way, I believe the fruit chuck is sold. I believe we are to reproduce ourselves. The fruit of the Spirit is the Spirit’s fruit.
That’s love to our peace, long that’s in Galbek, that’s in Galatians 5, 23, 22 and 23, of Galatians 5. But the fruit of the believer is anotherHandler. That’s when we reproduce ourselves. And I believe that’s what is talking about there. A fruit fruitful believer is one who has impacted other lives for Christ. rettyless believer is one who has never brought anyone to the Lord or influenced anyone to come to the Lord. and every believer is to do that. We have John in Luke’s Florida calling in with an offer question.
He says, please explain the terms Gnostic and Agnostic. Well, the word Gnostic means knowledge, and generally the Gnostics that are confronted in the early centuries of Christianity were those who felt they had special knowledge secret knowledge. And you got to watch out for anybody who uses the terms secret or mystery. The word translated mystery in the New Testament doesn’t mean something complicated or this difficult to figure out. It simply means something that had not been previously revealed or understood.
God doesn’t really hide anything from us. He’s right out in the open. And so those who claim that they have secret nozzer there The church talks about the mystery of the Eucharist. They talk about these secret mysteries and things that you have to get into to be able to understand things. That’s funny, but God speaks plainly and clearly about what he wants us to know. Some things he didn’t of the snow in the Old Testament. For example, the church age was not really revealed until after Christ had gone back to heaven or really after he went to the cross.
But otherwise, he lets us know everything. The word agnostic, the A in front of Gnostic means no knowledge. So somebody who claims to be an agnostic is saying, I don’t have any knowledge. Usually I say to them, I can tell. I didn’t make anybody happy when I say that does it. Anyway, an An agnostic is somebody without knowledge. An agnostic is one who claims they have knowledge, but generally they say they have special or secret knowledge. I would watch out for people who try to make this kind of claims because the Bible is open to all of us.
We don’t need a code book. The cults all have their code books to interpret the Bible with and so on. We don’t need the apocalypse code. We don’t need any book that will give us the code to understanding the Bible. the bible is uh… is open for all believers we have maria that in st peter’s burger over st peter’s burger welcome to bible you’re on the okay thanks i wanted to know if you think that the generation of her friends who believe in that one of three that away from your family and things like that there is but i i i wouldn’t uh…
you know put a lot of focus on it i think sometimes that that’s more damaging good like people feel like they’re so helplessly trapped Obviously things that we do are passed down to our children. They learn our habits, the good habits and the bad habits. And if we’re into false teachings they also will inherit those. But the chain can be broken. My whole family was unsaved and my sister was the one to broke the chain. She got saved. And then she came after me and I got saved.
And then the two of us got the rest of the family saved. My mom and dad, my other brother, my other sister. And we all got saved. And then we tried to break the chain within our greater family. And we were reaching other families that were related to us, Anne’s Uncles and Cousins and Nieces and Nefias with the Gospel. So we broke the chain. And obviously Jesus can break that chain for anybody. When we bring them to Christ, it opens a whole new playing field.
So these people that focus on that, I think it becomes so negative and you become so discouraged. You say, I’m in a generational curse I can’t get out of it and that’s baloney every believers set free in Christ Dad one more question about this more idea can believers be possessed by demons? No, you cannot be Always there right yeah, I like first John 4 4 it says greater is he that is in you then he Satan that’s in the world So there’s no demon that wants to dwell in the same body with the Holy Spirit And you see that even when people weren’t even possessed to read in the New Testament there that Christ would come and they would they would be terrified they didn’t want to have any deals with Christ and So if a person gets saved They are sealed by the Holy
Spirit. So nobody’s going to come in or go out or no demons are going to get in there Now you can be influenced no doubt about it, but you cannot be possessed Thank you very much. All right. You’re so welcome and thank you for that call We’re coming up on the end of the show here. Lots of questions still sitting there. And by the way, the class, we’re going to begin it tonight.
