I love to teach. I taught for three different Bible colleges, 11 years for Moody Bible Institute of Chicago. And we are offering a course on the Gospel of John. And tomorrow night we’ll have class 5 and 6 of our 12 hours of teaching on John’s gospel. And we’ll have the whole series available on CD. A lot of folks are taking this class live and also watching it at their leisure throughout the week. Again, I’m Dr. Anglins from, and we’re excited about being with you. And we hope that you’re enjoying the summer. Our programs are listeners supported, and we thank God for all of you who pray for and a gift to Bible. And we appreciate you so much. And this is the summer. It’s the lean time and giving most churches and ministries suffer a shortfall during the summer, and we’re no exception.

And you could help us if you’d like to help us at this time with a gift. You could do that by credit card over the phone or you could mail a gift to us. And we just really are trying to get the gospel out. We’re so excited about the reports. We get all the time from people that are listening to the Bibleline broadcast and people getting saved and actually even going into ministry in many cases. And that’s exciting. We again invite you to call in and if you have a question or a comment, you can call during the show today and we’ll try to answer that.

We have a lot of offer questions we’ll be trying to get to as many of those as we possibly can. We’re going to take a look at the Bible for a few minutes. The Bible talks about overcomers. I remember I’m thinking about these passages don’t apply to me and I am buying them for many years. Unfortunately, for me they are wonderful blessings. And we have the Duckles and Omen. And I’m thinking that if you look at the theory that you have that you would be looking at is born of God, overcome with the world.

And this is the victory that overcome with the is. world, even our faith. Who is he that overcome with the world? But he doesn’t believe that Jesus is the Son of God. What it’s saying here is that if you’ve been born again, then you are an overcomer. And the victory that brought about that overcoming is your faith in Christ. And then verse 5 clearly says the question and gives the answer. Who is he that overcome with the world, but he that believe it that Jesus is the Son of God.

In other words, by virtue of what Christ accomplished for you and for me, because he overcame death the grave, the penalty for sin and so on. Satan, by virtue of the fact that he did it on your behalf, when you trust Christ as Savior, you become an overcomer. Isn’t that wonderful to know? And so every believer is an overcomer, and when you read the overcoming verses, you can know that they apply to you. That’s right. Let me give you one of the great ones.

It’s Revelation 21 verse 7. Revelation 21 verse 7. It says, He that overcometh shall inherit all things. Well, who’s the overcomer? That’s you and me as believers if you are a believer. If you’re not a believer, obviously it doesn’t refer to you, but if you’re an overcomer, that is your believer. You’ve believed or trusted Christ as your Savior. You have been born again. it says you shall inherit all things. Then also notice it says in Revelation 21 verse 7, I will be his God and he shall be my son.

In other words, it will all ties in with being born again. And you’ll be a son of God or a child of God’s family by the new birth. As we just said, it tells us in 1 John 5 verse 1 that whosoever believe that Jesus is the Son of God is born of God. Then verse 4 says, whatsoever is born of God, overcome with the world. And this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. So we find that a person who believes on Christ, trusts Christ as their Savior, is born again.

And the person who is born again, the Bible says in verse 4, verse John 5, is an overcomer. And then it asks the question and answers that who is he that overcome with the world, answer he that believeeth that Jesus is the Son of God. So if you’re a believer, you are an overcomer and there are wonderful promises, especially in chapters two and three of the book of Revelation that refer to overcomers. Early on in the book of Revelation it says, blessed is the one who reads the book of Revelation And I keep the words that are taught in this wonderful book of Revelation.

And obviously the blessing is that when Cth you read these verses, they are wonderful promises. One of the things I love so much is verse 11 of chapter 2, where it says, Ere, let him hear what the Spirit says. What is interesting is that it is talking about spiritual hearing. You can hear things, but not hear things that are spiritual. In other words, the believer has the switch turned on, or the light comes on for the believer. When you read the Bible, it is spiritually discerned, and God says that He will open your understanding, which is the doctrine of illumination, not inspiration, but illumination.

The inspiration of Scripture is where God spoke through different men, His Holy Spirit spoke through them, and His words were put down in the Bible through these different human writers. But illumination is for the reader of the Bible who has gone open his understanding or her understanding of what the Scriptures teach. And obviously if you’re not saved, if you’re an unbeliever, the Word of God is probably I’m not going to make a whole lot of sense to you. It says in 1 Corinthians 2, 14, the natural man.

And that is really the unsaved man, the unregenerate man, the man who’s not been born again. And in 1 Corinthians 2, 14, it says the natural man, receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness in the hymn. Neither can he know them because they’re spiritually discerned. How many times have you heard somebody say the Bible is a lot of foolishness? Or I can’t make any sense out of the Bible. That’s a tip off that they’re probably not saved.

Because once you get saved, all of a sudden the doctrine of illumination kicks in where the Lord opens your understanding to the Scriptures. But if you’re unsaved, it’s foolishness. If you’re unsaved, it doesn’t make any sense to you. 1 Corinthians 2, 14, look it up. But once you become a believer, then you have in a sense spiritual eyesight, you have spiritual ears. And if you are saved, hopefully you have ears to hear what the author of scripture, God the Holy Spirit, says to us in the Word of God.

That’s what it’s saying here in Revelation 2.11, he that have an ear, that is spiritual hearing, to be able to hear what God says. And if you’re a believer, you want to be able to hear what he says. And it says what the Spirit says, and that’s the Holy Spirit who is the Author of Scripture. We find that Peter tells us that it’s the Holy Spirit who spoke through and guided the writing of the Bible, that he superintended the Scriptures so that what we have in the Bible is the Infallible, Inerrant, Inspired Word of God.

And you can trust the Bible, but I don’t know if you can trust much else out there. He definitely can trust the word of God and God is the author. The Holy Spirit is the author and he here is writing these particular blessings to the churches which are the people of the church age and in local churches and in Revelation chapter 2 and chapter 3 we have Christ speaking to the churches which are the believers of the church age that began at Pentecost, it will end at the rapture.

He has a particular message, and the Holy Spirit is the one who put this down, as the Holy Spirit spoke to John the apostle and directed him to write these things down. In fact, the Lord told John to write the things which thou hast seen. He says, write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which He will be here after. And He is writing them as an eyewitness, one who was seeing and hearing what He saw that He was to record.

And here we have the message of Christ to us, but as believers. And He says, He did overcome it. And again we find that defined clearly as a believer. So if you are a believer, this is a verse to you, Revelation 2 and 11. It is a great one. It says, He did overcome it. We found in 1 John 5, 5, who is he that overcome with answer? He the believer that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. It says here, he that overcome it shall not be heard of the second death.

What does that mean? Well, the second death is defined in Revelation 20 verse 14 as to be cast into the eternal lake of fire, the final hell. So you don’t want that to happen to you. But guess what? your believer, this verse is actually that you’ll never go to hell. You can write that in the margin. I will never go to hell. Isn’t that good news? That’s worth jumping up about, getting excited about. And I’m excited to know that I will never go to hell.

Why? I am a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe He died and paid for my sins in full by His death and shed blood. I believe He was buried and rose again from the dead. I trust Him as my Savior. And as a result, according to I John 5, 4, and 5, I am an overcomer by virtue of what Christ overcame at the cross on my behalf. And it tells us here that I will not be hurt of the second death, and the second death is to be cast into the eternal lake of fire.

So Revelation 2, 11 says, Heathetheth an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the such as he that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death, you will never go to hell. Wow! Is is that eternal security? Well it sure is. We are eternally secure because of what Christ did for us. Our salvation and our security is not based upon our behavior or what we do or accomplish. based upon what Christ has done for us at the cross.

Isn’t that amazing? I just read a doctoral statement and by the way you really ought to find out what your church believes you ought to ask for a doctoral statement. That’s where they say in print what they believe. I read this one and it says the believer’s security is conditional. Oh boy. And then they laid out different ways that you could lose your salvation. The believer’s security, my friend, is not conditional. It’s unconditional. Jesus said unconditionally. In John 637, hymn that cometh to me, I will in no wise.

He says, I will in no wise. That means in no case or under no circumstance, when I He said, I had one lady tell me, but you don’t know what I did wrong. And if you only knew the sin that I committed, you would agree with me that Christ would cast me out. And I said, lady, let’s look at this verse again. Christ said, He that come with the mean, you say that you’ve come to Christ and trusted Him as your Savior.

He says, I will in no wise. That means in no case or under no circumstance, would I… But I ever cast you out. There is no exception clause here at the end of the verse that says, except you commit the sin that I committed. Well obviously there’s no wiggle room there. When you trust Christ Jesus makes the promise I will in no wise. Under no circumstances would I ever cast you out. But I always have those clever people that say, okay I can see Christ won’t cast me out John 6 37 you got me there but then they try to proceed and say well Christ won’t cast me out but I can cast myself out.

Well if you look at verse 39 that’s not possible either. Jesus said in verse 39 this is the Father’s will that of all which had sent me I should lose what? Nothing not one but should raise them up again at the last day. Isn’t that wonderful? Christ will never cast you out but also even better he will not lose you you see he’s the one that is responsible to keep you saved and That is God’s charge to Christ and Jesus Christ said it’s the Father’s will That he would not lose one that has come to him in that great is I’m saved eternally I will never go to hell How do I know revolution 211 is one of many verses because the believer the overcomers shall not be hurt of the second death Boy, that’s good in it.

It’s great news. We’re gonna talk to people on the phone lines We got callers calling in and you’re welcome to call us at 1-800-576-3771 And we have Terry down in North Port, Florida and Terry welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air Thank you my friend. Thank you for talking my call I’ve long been a believer and I believe that devil cannot read my mind. He has no idea idea what I’m thinking. Now I haven’t been able to find any scripture passages that make me want to believe that anymore.

So do you have anything according to that? Well I sure do. The Bible has got a great verse. Let me see if I can find that. It should be back in the Old Testament here. First Kings chapter 8, verse 39, it says in this verse, for thou even thou only know us the hearts of all the children of Ben. That’s page 398. If you have a skill field reference Bible, it’s 1 Kings 8 verse 39. So only the Lord knows the hearts of men.

Really great verse? Absolutely wonderful. Well, it makes you feel better to know it’s said in the scriptures. But I think the devil can kind of read by our body language and by the things that we do, what’s going on in our heads. But he does actually know our thoughts. Thank God. Yes, absolutely. Well, thank you for your program, brother. I appreciate it. All right, Terry. I’m glad I could remember what that person was. That’s 1 Kings 839, only the Lord only knows your thoughts.

Dave in Clearwater calls and leaves this question off here. He says in Matthew 12, says three days and three nights. Why Dave before the night? I think that’s just the translator’s choice. We do know in the Old Testament, certainly the Jewish people always count their night first and you see that even in Genesis where you have the seven days of the recreated week. It says the evening and the morning where the first day, the evening and the morning where the second day, the evening being the dark period, the day being the light period when the sun is shining.

And so the two constitute one day. So a full day, 24 hours, is constituted by a period of darkness and a period of light. And I believe that Jesus is just telling us here the length of time that he would be in the grave. So just check that out Matthew 1240. Alright, also it says in Luke 2421 the road to the Mass refers to the first day of the week. Again, you have to recognize when they are counting there.

And it says this is the, let me just. He said, I’ll turn there in my Bible to that verse. People bring this up to try to see that it doesn’t work out, that Christ was crucified on Wednesday because of this particular verse. And this is about the only objection you could really try to bring up. You have to notice here what it is really saying. It says in verse 19. Let’s see. It’s chapter 24 verse 21. But we trusted that it had been Christ, which had a ridiculous idea.

redeemed Israel and beside all this, today is the third day since these things were done. Well, Christ was crucified on the Passover, which really meant on the afternoon preceding, which is when the Passover land would be offered in the evening of the Passover day. So if you go from the Passover when it was done, and then you count three days, it would be then Friday, Saturday and Sunday then would have been the third day. That’s exactly what it’s saying there.

So Christ I believe was crucified on Wednesday. The Passover began on Wednesday night at sundown and continued through Thursday night sundown and then he He was crucified on Wednesday afternoon, which the twilight time or the evening time was between three and six. Anyway, I hope that’s helpful and we thank you, Dave, for that question. And Christ, we believe, was in the grave a full 72 hours. Therefore, we believe that he was raised 72 hours later that puts the resurrection Saturday at sundown and he was already risen by 12 hours when they discovered the empty tomb on Sunday morning.

There was no resurrection on Sunday morning. That was the discovery of the empty tomb. We have here Saul in Bradenton, Florida, and he says, explain Matthew 1916 through 19 and their Christ of course tells this rich man who is asking what good thing must I do in order to have eternal life. Christ gives him the commandments and that was the right thing to do. You see the law was given as a schoolmaster according to the Galatians chapter 3 and the schoolmaster is to show us our need of a Savior because no one has ever kept the law.

In John 7, Jesus said, did not Moses give you the law and yet no one has ever kept it. And so Christ was using the law in a rightful way. That’s what Timothy’s Paul saying in Timothy to Timothy about this, how that there were many who didn’t understand the purpose for which the law was given, that it was an instructor, a teacher, and it was to bring us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. And then once we have placed our faith in Christ, we’re no longer under that teacher.

Well, it’s interesting in the first Timothy, it says here that there were false teachers that came along and says, these have swerved and have turned aside under vain jangling, first Timothy chapter 1 verse 6. Vane Jangling reminds me of those little things that you put outside and the wind blows them and they’re called wind chimes or whatever they are and they just drives me nuts. I don’t think I could live with one at my house because they just make this sound all day long whenever the wind is blowing.

And it’s just Vane Jangling. That’s the complicated thing that I know of and maybe somebody might think that’s music to their ears but it just really drives me crazy. In any case, verse 7, these people desire to be teachers of the law, understanding neither what they say nor where of they affirm. Verse 8, notice Paul says, we know that the law is good if a man uses it lawfully. Well the lawful use of the law is to point out to someone in need of a Savior, but they need to trust Christ and normally say that’s exactly what Christ is doing.

This young man, though, didn’t get the point. When he was confronted with that, he said he’d kept all the law. Well, that’s not true. Nobody’s ever kept the law. The Bible says there’s none righteous, no not one. Ecclesiastes 7.20 says there’s not adjustment upon the earth who doeth good and sineth not. So certainly that’s not true. And so this is basically Christ pointing out that he himself was a savior and then he He says if you come to him, he would save you.

Also I think you’re bringing up a passage in Matthew 5, and let me just take a look at that in Saul. This is Matthew chapter 5, and it’ll be, let’s see here, where it says in verse So… I’m almost there. Matthew chapter 5 and it says here in verse 20, I say unto you that except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, as you shall know wise enter into the kingdom of heaven. He’s saying here, yet be as righteous as God and see after you better than the best that they could point out.

In fact, verse 48 says you have to be as perfect even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. The only way you can do that is to trust Christ and to have Him credit your account with that. We’ve got to go to break. We’ll come back and do a second half hour Bibleline and we hope you’ll call in in the meantime and I’ll be right back. So don’t go away. I’ll be right back in just a moment.

Alright we’re back from that break and this is Bible and I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom is wonderful to be with you.

It really is. And to be able to talk about the Scriptures and to be able to point out what they say is so wonderful. You know, the Bible is the Word of God and it’s the authority and yet it’s amazing to me that people are not getting taught the Bible in their churches anymore. In fact… Generally, not even in Sunday school, do they really get a good, solid, doctrinal teaching in God’s Word. It’s absolutely amazing. And this is a time when we see the results of all that, because our nation is drifting into spiritual darkness, because the Bible is the light.

And as we open the Bible and study it, it guides our path. light into our path and lights our way as we go. It’s so important to get into that book and that’s what we try to do here on Bible Light. Thank you for tuning in. This is Monday and we’ll be here for the rest of the week and I hope you’ll join me each and every day. And by the way, if you have the internet, you can catch these programs as often as you like day or night.

And a lot of folks tell me they listen in the evening again or maybe if they They missed the program for the first time and there’s lots of them sitting there. You’re welcome to go to the internet BibleLineMinistries.org or .com and take a look for yourself. By the way, we want you to know we have a lot of resources that you can check out in our online bookstore. But if you live in the area, come by and see us live here and we’d love to have you visit a resource center here where Bivaline is headquartered at the Calvary Community Church.

We’re looking right next to Tampa’s airport. So we’re very easy to find no matter where you might be. And I hope you’ll be coming by sometime. And you know, we would love to have you do that and give you the raw treatment. But if you can join even our worship services on the internet site, BibleLineMinistries.org. You can join us in our Resource Center by browsing on that on the internet. That’s exciting. Got a question here from Patty in St.

Paul’s. St. Petersburg, she says, I would like to know if all the books Dr. Hank has in his store have been read by him. I don’t want to read anything that might not be the truth. I trust Dr. Hank with all he has since I have been listening to him. I have not found him to be anything but truthful. Thank you, Dr. Hank, for being there for me and others who listen to wrong messages over the years who have listened to wrong messages over the years.

We finally see the true light through your plain English teaching. Thank you and I know that I’m praying for you and for all those who volunteer there with you. Well that’s a good question and I recommend all the books but I truthfully have to say I haven’t read all of them all the way through. Some of them are, for example, reference books, and I have used them and found them always to be very, very good. But I haven’t read a lot of reference books you don’t read through, like you would the Bible, chapter by chapter verse by verse, or whatever.

But some I have. But I’ve used all of these for many years, and I’ve found them to be effective and be sound. But to be honest, I’ve rented the Bible through many times, but I haven’t read every book and a resource center all the way through. But people will find mistakes in human books. So if you find a mistake in there, it’ll point it out to me. But generally these are really very, very sound, very sound authors. And I would suspect you’d have difficulty finding error in anything that we have here.

But no, I haven’t read every word in every one of those books, but I’ve read most of them, but not all of them. But I recommend them all. Or I wouldn’t put them in our resource center. But that’s a good question and thank you, Patricia, for asking that. We have some live callers, a lot of off-air questions. And so we’re going to proceed here. And we’re going to go to Prince in Petersburg, Virginia. And Prince, welcome to Bibleline your own Good morning, sir.

How are you doing? Doing fine. Thank you. Fine. I was listening to you program and you have some very valuable information. And my question was calling about speaking in tongues in a church and nobody understands that people be speaking in tongues and there’s no interpreter. Well, first of all, I believe the gift of tongues ceased in the first century that nobody today is speaking in the biblical gift. You know, the Greek word in Acts chapter 2 when Pentecost happened is the Greek word dialectos, and it means a specific dialect of a specific language.

So it’s not this gibberish that’s being done today, and the gibberish that’s being done today is being done by all the world religions. And it just doesn’t… He says, I mean, nobody understands it. The people that are speaking it and the ones that are listening to it don’t have a clue. And that is not the biblical gift. Obviously, it says in 1 Corinthians 14 verse 9 about the true gift. It says, except he speak by the tongue words easy to be understood.

How shall it be known what is spoken? You just speak into the air. So you really need to be speaking words that are clearly understood by the person you’re talking to. That was the reason. for the gift. It was to evangelize. It was to communicate. And if you’re doing a gibberish that nobody understands, then you don’t have a gift at all. Then also verse 22 of 1 Corinthians 14, Prince says it was for evangelism. It says things are for a sign.

Not to them that believe, but to them that believe not. That’s pretty clear. So where should it be used? It should be used with unbelievers. You know that nobody today wants to use this gift with unbelievers. I’ve been putting on the challenge now for years, I guess several decades. Now I say, listen, get in my car. If you got the gift, let’s go to the mall. I’ll get you a crowd. I might have to freak out, but I can get a crowd.

Then I’ll introduce you and you do your gibberish and let’s see. If you have the real gift, we ought to have a revival because the Bible says it’s a sign to unbelievers. And I usually see people really get real I don’t want to go. I couldn’t even drag them into my car. And I always tell them I’m by mistake, dinner, effort. I want to see this thing work. They never want to use it with unsafe. But read that verse.

1 Corinthians 14, 22. Tungs are first signed, not to those who believe. No. These people that do it in their church, don’t they? Around so-called other believers. But they don’t like to do it out in the public. And that’s because they know that the unbelievers don’t respond to this very well at all. They think you’re a little bit crazy. They probably call for the people in the white coats. But that’s what it’s saying there in 1 Corinthians 14. It’s really a gift of angelized.

And it is a gift that is ceased. 1 Corinthians 13, 8 through 10 says that tongues would come to a complete halt. The word cease there in the Greek means to utterly stop. and it says in verse 10 it would happen when that which was perfect which we believe as the scriptures were completed and Then these gifts would cease the spectacular ones and they all ended by the end of the first century In fact, probably even before that Corinthians lists tongues in its list of gifts But when you get to Ephesians written later It’s prebrity apparently already gone in Ephesians 4 when the gifts are listed tongues is gone when you get the Romans written even later And it lists the gifts in Romans chapter 12.

Tungs are gone. So they ceased even before the New Testament got completed. But apparently people that had it can’t tell they died so it probably lasted all the way till the end of the first century. Do you have any information that you can send me on that? Absolutely. We have a CD that I’ve done that really goes through all the passages and explains them. Verse by verse that’s just for gift of five dollars. We also have a book by Merle Unger.

He’s the author of the Hunger Bible Dictionary and many other books. He’s got a book called New Testament Teaching on Tongues and he exegetes those passages in Corinthians and shows without a doubt that tongues ceased 2000 years ago that what is being done today is not the biblical gift of a foreign language without any training to be used to evangelize the lost in their language. So you can call in and place that order after the program and they’ll ship up the book.

I think the book goes for about, I think it’s about $15 and my CD has been very effective. We’ve had a lot of people delivered from the tongues movement by listening to that because it’s, I believe, a false movement. Okay. That’s what I was wondering because we had some kids one time. They didn’t understand what the people were saying. They was acting their mother, but was insane. she contributed so it wasn’t affected to them. I’ll get back with you right now.

I have to wait till some money getting my check and account. I’ll call back another time. Wonderful. Thank you, Prince. This is a part of the end times when you have the counterfeit coming along. The Bible is a God of symmetry and as we have the genuine gifts given at Pentecost and they ceased by the end of the first century. Christ tells us and warns us about the rise of false gifts that would rise about a hundred years perhaps before Christ would return and They would just gain a great foothold where they would continue to increase right up until Christ comes back.

Jesus says in Matthew 24, 24. The great news is that there shall rise false preachers in the last days and it says they shall show great signs and wonders in so much if it were possible. They would deceive the genuine believers and what we see that happening today, where we have the rise of false preachers and false messages and false signs and wonders, which are fooling people. All right, thank you so much. We have. Kevin in Largo. Can you offer spiritual insights he says in regard to stress?

Absolutely. Let me tell you that you need to read the Scriptures and they will help you greatly. But let me point out a particular one. I’ll just read a portion of this passage to you from Philippians, one of the pistols of Paul. In Philippians chapter 4, he says, Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is in hand. Then it says, Be careful for nothing. In other words, don’t be anxious. Don’t be under stress. It says, But in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be known unto God.

And what does it say in verse 7, Kevin says, And the peace of God which passive all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. What a wonderful passage. In other words, when you have difficulty, don’t get stressed out, but really go to the Lord. And with thanksgiving, let him know what your problem is. Let your request be known unto God. And verse 7 says, the peace of God which human beings that are not say don’t really understand will keep your heart through the most difficult times.

So turn to the Lord, Kevin, and I think that will help you. We have Dee up in Richmond, Virginia, and Dee, welcome to Bibleline You’re on the air. Hi, Dr. Hank. I’d love to show my question today is to marry the mother of Jesus. Is it in a scripture saying where she was a Levite other than the cousin of Elizabeth? I mean, Sister of Elizabeth? Oh, that’s about all we know about her. There are different stories told about her.

All we know is that she is a wife. Elizabeth is the, we’re talking about Mary now, or Mary is of course cousin to Elizabeth, but otherwise we only know that she is of the lineage of David. If you read the genealogy in Luke 3, you can see that Mary is a descendant from King David through his son Nathan and in Matthew’s Gospel the genealogy of Christ there we have Joseph being related back to King David through his son Solomon.

So Joseph came from the Kingly side of David’s line and Mary came from the other side through Nathan and those two were and those two were both related back to King David and therefore Christ’s, the flesh was related to King David as the Bible said he would be through Mary, but the kingship, the crown, would be passed on through Solomon’s line through Joseph the Christ. Okay, what lined him up with the priesthood? He’s not lined up with the Levites at all.

In fact, it says in Hebrews that he’s a priest after the order of Melchizedek the Levitical priest all died and They had the you know servant only died and then he got replaced But the Bible says that Melchizedek had no beginning of days I think Melchizedek was a pre-incurring and apparent incarnated care appearance of Christ in the Old Testament And we find that he was after that order so he wasn’t totally leave on okay Jesus came up the tribe of Judah Yeah, but I was thinking, I forgot about, you know, Kezadak, I was thinking that his bathtast, that when Jesus got baptized, was not only mine and him up with man’s sin, but it was also a ceremonial story and his priesthood like the…

Well, he fulfilled that time, but he was not after the order of the Levitical Priest. He was after the order of Melchizedek. Hebrew 7 is a great chapter to read on that. Okay. But he was definitely on the tribe of Judah, the tribe of Levi. David was on the tribe of Judah, and he was a direct descendant through Mary and Joseph of David. Thank you. Thank you and that was in Richmond, Virginia. We have Charlie in the land, Florida, in regards to Hebrews 9 and 14.

Explain the role of the Holy Spirit in Christ’s sacrifice. Let me go over to Hebrews chapter 9 for just a moment. It’s a great passage here. It says in verse 12, needed by the blood of goats and calves. by his own blood. Christ entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. I really believe that that’s talking about Christ, took the blood that he shed at the cross up to heaven and applied it on the mercy seat in heaven.

Look at you in verse 24. For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are figures of the true, but in the heaven itself now to appear in the presence of God for us. Notice He went into the real temple the one in heaven and the ones on earth were made after that pattern of the heavenly one But Christ took his blood there Then it says in verse 13 for if the blood of bulls and of goats and the ashes of an heifer The sprinkling of the end of the unclean sanctified to the purifying of the flesh How much more shall the blood of Christ who through the eternal?

Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience. It says here, I lost my place here, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God. So the Holy Spirit, obviously, when you trust Christ, you are taken and placed into the body of Christ. And so God sees you crucified with Christ, buried with Christ, and resurrected with Christ. And so you are therefore saved because God saw you on the cross paying for your sins in Christ. The Holy Spirit does that operation of what is called sanctification.

We are sanctified by the Spirit of God at the moment we believe. that word sanctified means to make pure and holy. And so the Holy Spirit really takes you at the moment of belief, places you into Christ’s body positionally, and God sees you as crucified and buried and risen again from the dead. And that’s, I believe, the answer to that question. Thank you, Charlie, from the land, Florida. We have Rachel in St. Petersburg. Where can I read in the Bible to learn the story of Satan?

Well, that’s interesting because there’s not one any one particular passage. But I would recommend to you Isaiah chapter 14 in particular verses 13 and 14 that you have the five I wills there of Satan’s rebellion. Also Ezekiel chapter 28 is talking about the king of Tyre, but it drops back further from him to the one that was in, apparently, inspiring him or directing him, that was Satan himself and it says that he actually walked in the garden of Eden and Ezekiel 28.

So when we read the Genesis narrative, we only find Adam and Eve God and there’s a fourth person that has to be Satan. And so this king of Tyre could not have walked in the garden of Eden, but Satan did. And then it tells us that he’s a cherub. And obviously that is a special created being and that he was really without sin until pride caused him to fall and try to rebel against God himself which is when Satan fell.

Those are interesting passages and there are others. If you have a good Bible like the Schofield Reference Bible which we have here in our Resource Center it has lots of notes and lots of cross-references to give you a lot of verses about Satan and there are many, many more that tell us a great deal about Satan in the book of Revelation itself. Thank you Rachel for calling in, I hope that helps. Tracy in Clearwater calls in and she says, Do we have to kneel when praying?

Can we pray while driving at our or just get work, etc. Does the Bible say we must kneel? The answer is no. You can pray at any time, any place. Luke 18 1 says that we’re to pray without ceasing. Obviously that means if you had the kneel you would never get up off your knees. So obviously we can pray wherever we are. But in the Bible, sometimes people would kneel, but many other times we see people standing with their arms outstretched and praying, and others praying in different situations under different circumstances.

We know that there is no set form of how you should pray. So, no you can pray. It’s you having conversation with God and you don’t have to kneel to do that. Alright we have some more off our questions. We have Saul. Saul apparently has to couple here today already I think. He’s asking a question about Acts 21 and I’m turning there right now. chapter 21 and he’s asking about verses 20 through 25. Here we find that Paul takes a Jewish vow involving a Jewish sacrifice.

I believe what’s going on here is that Jew, Rather, Paul, who was a Jew, wanted tohered to the Jews very badly. And you kind of get his take on things from over in Corinthians. And so I’m really going to go there to answer your question because he had such a desire to win people to Christ that he says in verse 31 of chapter 10 of 1 Corinthians, he says, whether therefore you eat or drink or whatsoever you do to all to the glory of God, giving none offense needed to the Jews nor to the Gentiles nor to the Church of God.

Even as I please all men in all things not seeking by own prophet but the prophet of many that they might be saved. So Paul is really saying that he did not want to offend, and as long as he didn’t break the scriptures, he went along with people. For example, if you were trying to witness to people who were offended by those who were short-sleeved shirts, I think Paul would have put on a long-sleeved shirt so he could talk to them about Christ.

So it’s not an issue that there’s anything wrong with wearing a short sleeve shirt or a long sleeve shirt, but if some were offended by short sleeve shirts he would have worn a long sleeve shirt. I think that’s sort of the whole point that was going on there. That Paul wanted to be able to win them. And so he pleased them in areas where they might be offended and he did that so he could win them to Christ. And I think that’s a good strategy.

Thank you Saul and if I didn’t answer that to your satisfaction, send it back at me. We’ll try it again. Alright we have Peter in Herkchimer, New York. He says, As a born-again believer, should I continue to ask for forgiveness for my sins or should I thank God for forgiving? The latter is true. There’s no place in the Bible that tells us we need to ask for the forgiveness because we’ve already been forgiven. But we should thank Him for having forgiven our sins.

Hebrews 10, verse 17 says, there are sins and iniquities. Well I remember no more. So they are forgiven and forgotten as far as our salvation is concerned. So we don’t have to ask for forgiveness again. Ephesians 4.30 says we should forgive others even as Christ has already forgiven us. So we’re already forgiven. If we trust Christ and Savior, we’re forgiven forever. Our sins are forgotten and gone. Peter, I hope that helps. And definitely a good question. We are going to have to run.

Time is run out for this program. I want to go spy so quickly. But we’ll be back tomorrow, Lord willing. And again, tomorrow night we have those classes. If you want to call up and get it and take it on the internet you can. Personally, finish. You can take and get all the CDs. You know, I have about 40 of these teachings on CD. Some of them are on DVD, and you can call and order them and learn, I believe, a great deal from these teaching series that are done.

Plus our Sunday Sermons are available. For a gift of $30 a month, we can send you all the Sunday Sermons, and we’re about ready to send out now the full month of July as we just yesterday finished the last Sunday July. You might want to get them. I have to run, but keep praying for my blind and I hope we’ll be talking to you tomorrow when we come back and tell your friends about the program and email those around the world to let them know they can get it on the internet as well.

Gotta go. Keep looking up. Jesus is coming and we believe very soon. You’ve been listening to Bibleline, the presentation of Bibleline Ministries of Tampa, Florida. It’s been great being with you today. We sure have enjoyed it. I hope you’ve enjoyed it. And it’s fun to get into God’s Word and hopefully a lot People tell us that they really feel challenged to dig in more on their own because of the program and because of what they’re learning and some of it is brand new. Never heard it before and one man told me he learned more in 30 days from Bibleline that he had in 30 years in his church and we hear this kind of comments a lot.

Because again today we’re living in a time I think when churches are not just Doing what they ought to be doing they should be teaching the word in Acts to the early Christian church came together To study the apostles doctrine. That was the word of God. That’s what made the early church strong The fact that the church today is not teaching much of the word we have a weak Christianity and we’re not really being effective today as we ought to because we are not loudly proclaiming our faith.

Unfortunately because of the vacuum left, what’s happening is the world religions are taking over and we see obviously Islam on the move to take over the world and many other eastern religions coming into the United States. We need to get going here as Christians really need to wake up because we need to proclaim Christ loudly and clearly. Thank you for tuning in today and again if you want to help us the summer months or lean months and this is the time when you can help shore us up and help us make sure that we can get to the summer okay.

You can send a gift to Bibleline by mailing it to our address here at 48-11 George Road. You can also do it by credit card over the phone. Just call the 800 number. We can even mail you an envelope with our address on it. And I hope you’ll consider doing that before July is over. It’s just about over. You’ve got to run, but we’ll be back tomorrow. I hope you’ll join me then. Until then, God bless you and keep hooking up because Jesus truly is coming and is coming soon.
