And if you want to get the full program, go to the Internet, you get the whole thing, and we hope that you will.

Here in the West Coast of Florida, we’re on 570 and 910 on the AM. We’re also in Sarasota on, I think it’s 91.5 FM. We’re welcome all of our new listeners in the Jacksonville area. We’re on WYMM 50,000 watts. It reaches all the way over to Gainesville, Lake City, the I-75 quarter and it also reaches the I-95 quarter and everything in between and up in the Southern Georgia as well.

we’re excited about the new listeners that are finding us in that area of the northeast corner of the state of Florida. Of course we have a regular audience down in the Land Florida and that station reaches all the way down to Orlando and welcome to the program and all the other areas in the country. If I start naming them all we’ll be here all day and we don’t want to do that. We’re excited about about how people are learning.

I have an email here. It’s entitled, I Want Truth. And he tells me that he is paying attention to what we’re saying here on the Bioline Show. He says, I’ve been listening to your CD on Tons and listening to the radio. And he says, something is really drawing me to the truth. He says, you’re getting me in trouble. But that’s OK. God comes first in my life, so he’s obviously learning that he’s not going to a church that’s in line with the Bible but is going to be making serious decisions.

And so, God bless all of you that are really discovering truth and that might mean that you discover that the church you were raised in is not giving you the truth. I was raised for 18 years in a church. Now, I’m going to talk about the Bible. I’ll never forget Ephesians 2.89, which says, for by grace are you saved through faith in Jesus Christ, and that none of yourselves it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast or brag.

And I’ll never forget that phrase, it’s the gift of God stood out. I knew what a gift was, and I said to myself, if going to heaven is a gift, then I could go to heaven. Could go to heaven and boy that sounded good on my ears Then I read in verse 9 of Ephesians 2 that it was not of works and I said to myself in my head Somebody’s wrong somebody’s wrong somebody’s wrong Either my church is right and the Bible is wrong or the Bible is right my church is wrong I realized immediately that there was a difference between what I was reading in the Bible and what I was hearing in my church My church taught works for salvation, and the Bible was saying salvation was not of works.

It was the gift of God. It was not of works lest any man should boast or brag. Wow, what a defining moment in time. I’ll never forget it to this very hour. I was just 18, just out of high school, and I could tell the difference. And that is, it’s not of works, lest any man should boast or brag. Wow. And you know, most people think it’s based on works that we get to heaven. Wherever you look in the Bible it seems that is the mindset.

When we go to the Gospels, Christ was confronted with that as well. If you turn to John chapter 5 with me, if you have your Bible there, Jesus here is talking to a religious group, but yet they really were in a mindset that they thought they might have to work their way to heaven. And they ask Christ the question here in John 6, rather. This is John’s Gospel chapter 6 in verse 28. They said unto him, What shall we do that we might work the works of God?

So that’s the mindset. They wanted to know what should we do that we might work the works we’ve got. The answer is the wonderful answer Christ gave in John 629. Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God that you believe on Him whom ye has sent. So the answer is Christ. In other words, this is the work of God that you believe on Him whom ye have sent. Jesus said, This is the work of God that you believe on Him whom ye have sent.

Jesus came for the express purpose of doing the work of salvation on our behalf and the The work that he worked on the cross when he died completely paid for your sins and mind. When you simply believe or trust on Christ who was the one who did the work of salvation then God saves you. He saves you eternally. That is good news and it’s the best news you’re ever going to hear. Jesus on the cross said it is finished.

You know, all the churches that are wrong say it’s not finished, that you still have to do something. It’s amazing. In the cults the same way, the seven-day Adventist, when Jesus said it is finished, Ellen G. White, who is the infallible interpreter of the Bible for the seven-day Adventist church, says it’s not finished. She says that Christ is right now in the Holy of Holies performing the investigative judgment He’s weighing your works and my works on the scales in order to determine whether we are worthy of receiving God’s grace or not.

Make salvation by works and tells us that it’s not finished. There is no seventh in the Adventist if they believe the doctrines of the Church that the Seventh Adventist teach and the writings of Ellen G. White that can say right now I know I’m going to heaven. Why? Because it’s unfinished. It’s not finished. Most people when you ask them, where are you going to go when you’re going to go when you die. Heaven, I hope. Why? Because to them it’s not finished.

They have to wait until after they die. They have the works examined on a great big scale to figure out whether they’re going to make it or not. But true believer can say right now, I’m assured of going to heaven. I know I’m going to heaven. I have eternal life. I am saved. I’m forgiven. I’m a child of God. And I know without a doubt that I’ll go to heaven when I die. Why? Because The work of salvation is finished and Jesus gives us marvelous answer in John 6 29.

Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God that you believe on Him whom He has sent. When you believe or trust on Christ the word believe there means trust. When you trust Christ that is the just these would perform the work of salvation on the cross. He did the cross, it is finished. And when you believe on him, then you have done the work that will get you into heaven. That is you have believe the work that will get you into heaven.

We really do not work at all. But notice the crowd here that Christ was addressing thought they had to work to be saved. It says in verse 28 of John 6, What shall we do that we might work the works of God? They were looking to do work. One of the verses that really got my attention was Romans 4, 5, where it says, But to him the worketh not. I couldn’t believe my eyes. This was so contrary to what my church taught, I said, this can’t be, but the verse is saying to the one who does not work, but would believe on Christ that justifies the ungodly, that’s us.

His faith in Christ would be counted for righteousness. You see, God counts what Christ did for us at the cross, the work that He performed as Christ is the one who did the work of salvation and finished it on the cross when we put our faith in Christ, God counts our faith in Christ for the righteousness that we need to be of inner heaven. What a great verse. And it says there clearly to him that does not work, but would trust in Jesus the one who died for you and me that are ungodly.

Your faith in Christ would be counted for the righteousness that you need to enter heaven. And that’s exactly what we read here in John’s Gospel chapter 6. What work can you do? You can do no work. So the price is saying to the one who does not work, but if you’d only believe on the one that God sent, then you would, obviously, believe on the work that would save you, and that’s the work that was done across. Even in the Old Testament, it talked about a work that God would do that would bring about salvation, and those that would believe on that work would be saved.

This wonderful work that Christ did, and even in the Old Testament, it anticipated people just couldn’t buy into this. They couldn’t believe it because it’s so simple. It says here in Acts 13 and verse 40, For I work a work in your days, a work which that you shall in no wise believe, though a man declared unto you. What was that work that he would work in their days two thousand years ago? It was the work of the cross.

It was Jesus taking the sins of the world upon himself and paying for them in their entirety and declaring as just before he died that this work was accomplished. He says, it is finished. How many churches are telling you it’s not finished? The Roman Catholic Church says it’s not finished. You have to keep going to Mass. You have to keep going to confession and do penance and go to Mass. You have to keep keeping the sacraments and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

And you just name the churches and name their doctrines and they’re all saying it’s not finished. It’s not finished. It’s not finished. It’s not finished. The Mass, according to the catechism of the Roman Catholic Church, is the crucifixion of Christ all over again to pay for sin every time the Mass is offered up. They’re saying it’s not finished. It’s not finished. When Jesus declared it’s finished, this is the big problem. And in John 6 it comes out so clear in those two verses, verse 28 and 29, what work should we do that we may do the work of God to be same?

And Christ said this is the work of God that you believe on Him whom He has said. Jesus is the one who performed the work of salvation. He’s the one that finished it, and when you believe or simply trust on Him, then you are saved and it has zero to do with any work that you or I might do. That’s a hard concept for us, isn’t it? Because we’re so works-oriented throughout life that we think there’s something that we’ve got to do or not do, and that somehow whatever we do in the future will determine whether we make heaven or not.

And the Bible says that’s not right at all. There is a test I call the grace test. Grace by definition means the absence of any works. If you just are listening to a message or reading a book about the Bible, if you’ll close your eyes. He is the test. Close your eyes and ask yourself, you may not know a thing about doctrine, but you close your eyes and you say, am I being tugged at? Am I being asked to do something or not do something in my future that will determine whether I make heaven or not?

If you are, you’re hearing a false message. And it fails the grace test because grace is the absence of works. It’s God’s unmerited favor. and mercy toward the center. It’s not narrative, it’s not deserved, it’s not earned, it’s not based on works. And so grace is the absence of works. And you know it’s a real simple test and you can immediately say this is false. The true gospel always takes the lost in nine center and points him back into the past to the cross where Jesus accomplished the work of salvation and finished it on the cross.

So the true gospel says, Jesus paid it all. The false gospel says, it’s not finished. You have to keep on keeping on. You have to keep on holding on. You have to keep on working your way toward heaven, eating new heights every day as you climb your upward way. Well, that’s not true. Jesus paid it all. I’m so glad that I found this out. I’m saved. I know I’m saved. nothing can ever undo this salvation. It says in Romans 839, I’m persuaded that neither death nor wife nor angels nor principalities nor things present or things to come shall be able to separate me from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus.

Nothing can separate you once you get saved. You’re stuck. You have to go to heaven whether you like it or not. If you serve the Lord, God is going to reward you for it. I’m Dr. Englund’s room. This is Bibleline. Our phone number here is 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3777. We’ll get you up on the air with us. That’s 1-800-576-3771. We’re going to go first to Larry and he’s in Tampa, Florida. Larry, welcome to Bibleline you on the line. Hi, Dr.

Hank, how are you today? Good. Good, good. I’m a Catholic, and I just heard what you said about the re-crucifixion somehow at Mass. And that’s a misunderstanding of what actually takes place, and it’s really common for that to be sort of misunderstood. actually happens by our teaching is that there’s a made presence. It’s not a Christ can’t crucify it again, obviously, as you know, and we know, but it’s more of a transcendation of time and space, as it were, that only God can do, and that he’s made presence in the Eucharist for us, in community, to join him in community, as He said to us, you know, only he that eats my flesh and drinks my blood, maybe, you know, allowed into the kingdom of heaven theology.

I just wanted to help you with that and try to clear that up. There is no re-cruise of fiction as it were, or there’s no or anything like that. It’s more of just a new testing. I’m just taking the quote from the Catechism. It says is the mass the same sacrifice as that of Calvary and the Kentism says yes the mass is the same sacrifice as that of Calvary but you’re saying it’s in some way. You have to go a little further.

I’m driving. I don’t have any fun. I did read it yesterday in my catechism and it talks about re-present, not represent, re-present and then right after that it says made present and that’s how that’s what we we believe is that we are made present at that sacrifice, not so much that we do it again in our space and time so does me. But as I understand it though, sins are forgiven at the mass up to that point and that would be wrong as well because according to what we were just saying a moment ago, Christ paid for all of our sins past, present, and future of the cross and He declared it to be finished at the cross so we don’t need to have sins forgiven and increments every time someone would go to the mass.

Well, for us, we don’t want to commune with God with mortal sin. What we classify as mortal sin, the serious sin. And so we, you know, by our sacraments, of course, one of those being confession asked for absolution and forgiveness. We recognize that we’re sinners. So we ask for that prior to receiving the body of Christ. Not, not. And of course, there is a Confederate at the beginning where we confess to Almighty God. and to our brothers and sisters that were sinners.

And that’s just part of our tradition to give, first of all, give thanks and to confess who we are as sinners and then to hear the Word of God in the Old Testament and then to hear the New Testament and a homily, as it were, I think you know all this, but just as a refresher and then to join in communion and worship God. I mean, every day we can go to Mass. If we go to Mass at my church, there’s two.

I mean, we do. Every day we worship God at the Mass and commune with Him so that we might live better lives and bring others to Christ. I mean, that’s what it’s all about anyway, isn’t it? Well, yeah, but is the Mass a part of the salvation process? But if you didn’t go to Mass, would you be saved? Oh, yes. Of course you could. I mean, God asked for one hour a week in our faith as it were to come worship Him on the Sabbath or on Sunday or as it were.

You don’t think He’s a lot to ask. But again, He knows we’re sinners that we can’t always do as he asked. I think it’s just a matter of being in that state of grace at the end. We’re at the end of your life when you go to see God. If you’re in that state of grace, so to speak, and you come to recognize who he is as the savior of the world, it is to be judged. I can’t make that judgment.

I don’t think anyone can. it’s only God can decide that of force. But you seem to be implying that at the end of your life you have to be in the state of grace to be able to live in heaven, whereas the Bible teaches from the moment you trust Christ whenever that happens in your life. You’re saved forever. You receive eternal life at that moment and your eternal life is never in jeopardy because of what Christ did. That’s the thing that’s where we differ.

Yeah, again, well, it’s just a degree of theology, I think, in that more new testament, you know, we’re looking at it from that new Testament aspect, and of course the two do go together, but that ours is more that, you know, say, original teaching or the first teachings through the interpretation of Peter as the rock of the church and on that rock, I think it became the foundation for Christianity and then the fallicism as it evolved into what we know today.

Well Larry, thank you for sharing your present presentation of what the Mass is all about for us. I’d like to hear some from some former Roman Catholics and see if you would agree. It seems like the salvation of the Roman Catholic Church is that you have to be in a state of grace as you conclude your life to be able to find entrance into heaven. Whereas the Bible says, past tense by grace you have been saved in Ephesians 2 8.

Base the Paul what Christ did for you and it’s not based upon any works or any deeds that you would do list you both and say well look i did this all my life i want to mass and i prayed and i did penance and so on the bible says that the work that is uh… the work of salvation was done totally by christ without us what do you think and i’d like to hear from some of you give us a call and we’ll uh…

see what you have to say we’re going to call in seraphyl or they call welcome to bivalen hey doctor i get the car and you but uh… now i got trucking job I got it all that is so good. I’ve got it all that and I don’t have you and it’s still not that good. Well, we’ll have to get up on that satellite radio sometime soon. I wish, hey, I have a question about Mitt Ron. My dad, he’s not real when it comes to religious stuff.

And that’s why the Christian right and a lot of the religious people don’t like The Mormon is a m-or-or-or m-romic for that case and he seems like such a deal. And I told him that they believe in works to get to heaven. Yes indeed you are and they have an agenda too that they want to actually take over and have everybody become Mormon eventually and again like what Islam wants to do and they want to get involved in government and that’s why we have a number of Mormons involved in government.

But their system is really really a cult. They don’t believe in hell Which most of us deny they deny the deity of Christ they claim they’re the church of Jesus Christ and all out of His saints, but they don’t believe in the same Jesus that you and I believe in and they obviously believe actually that they pre-existed before they were here on this earth that they were actually on the planet Tola, believe it or not, and that they migrated here and that Jesus preceded them to start producing human bodies as Adam was really the, it was Jesus.

He was the Adam God and that they’re producing bodies so that these disembodied spirits who come here from the planet Tola will have a place to have a body. It’s just really strange. They’re claiming by their own admission to be aliens and their beliefs are very, very strange. And so I guess the whole thought of a president having those kinds of strange views would be really scary as well as having a Muslim president or a Buddhist president. I think our values would probably really be greatly threatened.

We have a country that’s been founded on Christian violence. We’re going to have to go to break here. I’m sorry that the time has run out here on us. But thank you again for tuning in today. Our television night is tonight. You can catch us at 6.30 on Drake TV nationwide on channel 321 World Harvest Television. And at seven o’clock all over the West Coast you can catch us on the Christian Television Network. We’ll be back in just a minute.

I’d like to hear some comments about our previous caller, Larry, on Roman Catholicism. And don’t go wake if you radio tune right where it is it will be right back. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Alright, I’m Dr. Englund. It’s great to be with you. Thanks for tuning in to the Bible and broadcast. You know, one of the things that is difficult for people to comprehend is the difference between what the Bible teaches about salvation and what most churches teach.

And it is very clear, I believe. And it’s quite a different. And so, salvation is the major issue of the Bible. And salvation by the Bible is declared wherever you look, as without works. Whereas all of the false teachings out there say that there’s something you have to do and Basically that is where the difference lies And we are getting wonderful letters from people as we just noted a letter earlier an email that said that this person is getting in trouble in their church because they’re He’s discovering that his beliefs from the Bible are not the same as that what the church teaches and that is so often true My goodness, thank you for tuning in.

We appreciate all of you listeners. It’s August. It’s in the summer months. This is the lean time for Christian giving. We certainly would appreciate your prayers. And if you could help us here through the summer, that would be great. The expenses continue, but the giving seems to drop off during the summer. Somebody described it as a two-humped camel. I guess the time when people give more is in the spring and the fall, and the summer is the time when it kind of is like that gap between the two humps of the camel and it kind of slumps off.

That’s true, and it happens for all ministries, all churches and so on. If you could help us, that’d be great. You can send a gift by mail. You could also give a gift by credit card over the phone. Call our 800-numer operators over here, family. They’ll be glad to take your address and we’ll send you an envelope with our address on it. You can mail your gift in the Bible and or you can call in and give your credit card number and give a gift over the phone.

We also have some wonderful resources. He said, I need a good track to be able to leave my friends to Christ. We have the greatest track. This, am I going to have a track which is a quiz with the answers and scriptures all printed out in there. It works. And we see people trust the Lord. I had a fellow called me this morning. And he said it was so easy. He actually led two people to Christ this morning. And he was so excited.

He wanted to just dance up and down. But the track, he said, was so, so great. It made it so easy. It’s right. on target. We’re going to rejoin the stations that have been on break and do the second half of Bible and so stay with me as we do Bible in part 2. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lynch from a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr.

Hank Lynch from All right, we’re back from that break and this is Bible and we’re coming from Tampa, Florida, from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church, where I’m the pastor. We’re right next to Tampa’s International Airport. I talked to the lady this morning. She says, we never knew that you were so close. They live right here in Tampa, and they just thought that we had to be somewhere else in the country. We heard that so many times where people haven’t paid attention to where we’re coming from, but we’re coming right to you from Tampa, Florida.

And of course, if you live in other cities, you can visit our website and almost feel like you’re right here with us. You can watch our worship services, you can watch our TV programs, you can listen to our radio programs, you can read the articles that are written and downloaded and print them out. And we’ve got three books. We have that book on evangelism. I keep bragging about, you can buy that for a gift of $12 by my call and order on the online bookstore.

But also you’ll find that we have an instant entirety on my website. You can go and print out chapters or portions of chapters and read the book for free. If you want, it’s right there on the internet. I hope you’ll take advantage of all the things we have there. But we want to thank all of you who pray for us, all of you that give the Bibleline. Your gifts make such a difference. We have a number of older folks who tell us, wow, they have a clear understanding.

We had a lady yesterday, came in and she said, you are my teacher, you’re my teacher. Had her daughter with her and wanted to introduce her to me. She just said that she’s got everybody in her church listening to Bibleline. She says, oh man, they all give each other a high five when they talk about Bibleline and just enjoys the program. We’re excited about how God is using the program to just keep people excited about the Lord and His coming and about the wonderful salvation that He’s provided for us that was purchased totally and completely by Christ’s death, our part simply to receive it by faith.

And we’re excited about all of that. And you’re the one to keep this program on the air. It really is bigger than all of us. people don’t have an idea. They think, how much do you get paid to be on the radio? Well, I don’t get paid anything to be on the radio. Believe it or not, I don’t get paid at all. We put everything into these shows and just being on in Tampa cost us over 100,000 a year.

I just thought I’d throw that out to give you an idea that this is expensive. And we just have to trust our audience to supply. And so I’m just being quite frank with you because I need to talk about money and if I didn’t have to, if I was an multimillion here, I would just pay it out of my pocket and do it and just not even say a word about it. But you know, it’s not God’s plan. I came to realize that God wants us to partner together.

And as we partner together, you share in the same blessings that I share in because we become partners in accomplishing this goal of reaching out to the lost. I also found out in the Bible that if you don’t give correctly, you can lose reward. What I mean by that is if, like in 2 John, if you’re giving to a church or a ministry that has a wrong message, the Bible says in 2 John verse 8, look to yourselves that you lose not those things which you’ve worked for.

So you may be giving money and doing it in all good conscience. If their message is wrong, verse 11 says, If you bid them Godspeed and you endorse them or support them, you are a partaker of your evil deeds. And verse 8 in 2nd John says, Be careful, look to yourself that you lose not the reward you’re looking to receive one day by giving in a wrong way. If you give to a scripturally unsound ministry, you will get no reward for that.

You’ll be held accountable for the sins that you are supporting and the false message that you’re supporting. and so absolutely you don’t want to do that. You need to be in a good church first of all. And when this Dr. Lisa, we have a sheet here that I’ve written an article called Beliefs That Matter, about 25 basic doctrines that a good church ought to believe. And you can go ahead and not take that sheet as a worksheet to find out if your church is on the mark or not.

And it’s just a list of scriptures about the Bible being the Word of God, about the Trinity, about the deity of Christ, about salvation, about faith, about the ministry of the Holy Spirit, about heaven, about hell, just basic fundamental doctrines that a good sound church ought to embrace. And if you’re attending an unsound church, then you really need to find a new one. And I know that’s difficult. A lot of people say, I have so many friends. And I’ve been raised here all my life.

I was confronted with that. I was raised in church for 18 years and I really had to realize that, wow, the church I was raised in taught absolutely the opposite of what the Bible taught and somebody was wrong. My church was wrong and I had to leave and find another church and as a result we got to lead a lot of those people to Christ after we had left. But while I was there, they silenced me. They wouldn’t let me tell and I can understand.

They didn’t want me to tell people they could have eternal life when they didn’t believe you could have eternal life They believed that after you died That’s when it would be determined that the work of salvation was not finished that we had to finish it by living out our lives so that And like basically like Larry said a moment ago in that call that you have to be in the state of grace at the end of your life You’d be able to have in according to the Roman Catholic Church and and that’s not true.

We’re saved at the moment we believe because Christ has finished the work of salvation. But in any case, you could help us at this time. Summer is the lean time when in August. If you want to give a gift, you can go by credit card over the phone. I believe you’re going to share whatever rewards this program brings equally with me. That’s what the Bible teaches. Even in the Old Testament, when the nation of Israel went to war, there were people that stayed home that watered the fields and took care of the animals and took care of the children that were left behind while the soldiers went to war.

When they came back, if they won, with the spoils of war, everybody shared equally. They divided them up equally with those who stayed at home and those that actually were out there in the battle wielding the sword. And I think the same is true. When you give to a ministry that’s doctrinally sound, you share equally because you’re partnering with that ministry. A little bit of insight on giving, and it sort of changed my attitude when I realized, wow, I was the loser if I didn’t give because I want to lay up treasure in heaven as Christ said, and we need to do that by carefully examining what we’re doing.

It says in 2nd John 2, look to yourselves. You lose not Those things that you’re working for but that you might receive a full reward if you give unwise link Especially to support bad doctrine or a false message You are gonna not have any reward at all and you’ll be Shocked one day. Okay, that’s enough of that But thank you for listening to me and we pray that Bible and is a blessing to you We are just saying that we do need your help.

We’re going to go to Shane in St. Peter’s Burg in Shane. Welcome to my one year on the air. Hey Hank, how you doing? Good. Question for you. I believe that once you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior that you’re saved for eternal life as you do agree. But what I want to ask is a reference in scripture that if you are the type of person who is enslaved through Jesus Christ, but you don’t build on that foundation through your life.

In other words, not living in the will of God, that God may actually take you early. What references, Scripture, can you give me so I can study on that? Absolutely. In 1 Corinthians 11, verse 30, apparently the Corinthians, there was a number of them just like that. He says, for this cause, many of you are weak, many of you are sickly, and many of you are dead. He talks about if we would judge our own lives and keep them in line and God would not have to judge us first 31 But verse 32 and this is the great verse it says but when we as believers are judged We are chasing or disciplined of the Lord that we should not be condemned with the world.

So the world, the lost, those that are not believers on Christ are going to go to hell. But we believers, when we’re delinquent, we don’t go to hell. God, when he judges us, will discipline our lives. And in verse 30, we see part of that discipline, the extreme form would be that he’d take you home to heaven early. First Corinthians 11.30. Let me ask you this, with someone knowing that verse and still attracted by the ways of the world and knowing that they believe in Jesus Christ, they’ve been forgiven of their sins through Jesus Christ, and they still decide to insert in certain areas of their life to follow the way of the world, what motivation, knowing that they’re going to of heaven and knowing heaven is going to be a wonderful place being in the presence of the Father.

What motivation do they have to turn away from the way to the world if they know that they’re going to have it anyway? And I can’t even go on early. Well, there are two things that are really pointed out in 1 Corinthians, number one, that we’re going to suffer loss of reward one day for eternity. That ought to really get our attention and it’s very real in 1 Corinthians chapter 3. It tells us if we build, as you mentioned earlier, on the foundation of Christ, things that are pleasing to God and are rewardable will receive a reward.

But even if we have burnt everything burned up, we’d still be saved, but it says we’re going to suffer loss. There will be a loss of reward for all eternity. And then of course the Lord’s personal dealing in our lives and just putting our lives to be really happy. It’s true in every home too. In obedient child is a happy child. A disobedient child is an unhappy child And the same thing is true in the family of God when you’re disobedient You’re just not going to be happy and a lot of Christians are are unhappy.

They’re grumpy and But if you’re a believer in the will of God you ought to be happy because that’s What the Bible says so you can be content and be happy when you’re doing the things that God wants you to do and and you’re living for Him. So the incentive, of course, is to do that. But the highest, really, incentive is the love of God, which ought to be the motivation for us to serve the Lord in 2 Corinthians 5, and where 14 says the love of God constrains us.

You know, when I, and it really kind of goes through this scenario in that passage, but when I figured out that the Lord, I deserved to go to hell, and so does everybody, well condemned to all sinners. But I when I realized that he loved me enough to give his life And shed his blood for me so that I could be saved. I realized wow I owe him everything and I would be selfish not to live for him I said to myself the least I could do is tell somebody else about him and I began to witness and it changed my whole life And that’s the real motivation that that’ll keep you going Day and night it Keeps your pumped up.

Yeah, I agree with you totally I think that a person who has accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior when they are living a simple life or or things that acquainted with them that they can’t live with any kind of peace because of the conviction of the Holy Spirit within them and I believe that eventually Anybody with any kind of conscience or any kind of morals within them are going to see the air of their ways and hopefully through the power of the Holy Spirit will turn away from that and ask for forgiveness and recognize the things that they’re doing in their life.

Amen. I agree with the Shane. Thank you very much, Dr. Hank. Thank you. That was Shane and he was in St. Petersburg. We have an entwine, I think, in Tampa, Florida. Good morning. Hi. Good morning. Good morning. Thank you. On the call of the Catholic, what is the truth? I mean, the truth is that in John 6, God is just quite speaking there about him as the the bread of life. I am the bread of life. We know that Jesus is simply by the bread.

That’s what Jesus Christ means. I’m from heaven, who is Jesus Christ. But I have a question. My question is since of flesh. He’s so thin. For me, I have difficulty to reconcile that with Jesus Christ, inherit and finally, from Mary herself. How do you reconcile? Well, you know, God took on human flesh. In order to redeem mankind, there had to be a sinless man of the human race and Jesus of the flesh, really, his lineage is through Mary in Luke 3 all the way back to Adam.

And we know that Joseph was not the father, so there is no link to Adam through Joseph. Joseph’s role is to pass on the airship through the throne because Joseph was related in Matthew He won back to King David and his son Solomon and the King Reeline was there in that genealogy. But look through, we know that he’s a member of the human race. And because God was the Father, he was sinless because the sin is passed on through the man.

And we partake of Christ’s flesh, which by the way in verse 51 of John 6, he gave it the cross and that’s what he’s saying. He gave his flesh for the sins of the world at the cross and the way we receive that is by believing that he did that for us. He says in verse 47, I say unto you, John 6, 47, he either believeth on me has everlasting life and then he says the very next verse, I am that bread of life.

And then he talks about giving his life at the cross and the way we receive Christ’s flesh and his blood is by trusting that he shed it on the cross to pay for our sins. A little bit later for those that might think they have to actually bite down on a piece of bread which the Roman Catholics say is actually transformed into the very body cells of Jesus body and that the wine is transformed into his actual blood. At the mass it says in verse 63, it is the spirit that quickeneth or makeeth alive the flesh profits nothing.

The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life. In other words, he is telling them how he would give his flesh and shed his blood at the cross. In verse 64, to prove that point, he says there are some of you that believe none. In other words, the way you receive Christ’s blood and his body is by believing or trusting that he gave it at the cross to pay for your sin. He said in verse 47, this is a clear plan as you’ll ever see it, very rarely I say unto you, he the believer on me has everlasting life.

I am that bread of life. And then he goes on to tell how he would give his flesh at the cross and shed his blood. When we partake of that, when we eat his flesh and drink his blood, we do that by believing that he’s shedded at the cross for our sins. And it’s very plain in verse 63 saying the flesh profits nothing. It’s the spirit that makes a life. You could actually bite Christ’s arm and draw blood and actually ingest some flesh and that wouldn’t get you to heaven.

And Christ is making it clear that he wasn’t talking about cannibalism. He’s talking about trusting in what he did in his giving of his flesh and blood at the cross. I hope that helps and so that’s the answer to that question. We’re now going to go to Jane out in Texas and Jane, welcome to Bible In. Yes. You’re on the air Jane. Yes. Thank you for taking my call. I have a couple of questions. One is regarding Isaiah 1, verses 18 to 20.

And I’m wondering, was that just only for the Israelites that he was talking to at that particular time, or does that pertain to us now? And if so, doesn’t 1 Corinthians 5 verses 9 to 11 kind of contradict that? Or in what way would it contradict it? Well, and this is saying that I wrote to you in my letter, you say not to associate with immoral people. You know, I did not at all mean with the moral people of the world, but you know, to the so-called brothers.

Well, first of all, in Isaiah 1, he’s talking here about salvation. The nation of Israel had really departed. He says even animals are smarter than you guys. at least known who feeds them and who is their… He says, you don’t even have enough sense to realize I’m the one that created you and you need to come to me. And he says, in verse 18, come now and let us reason together. And the Lord here talks about his love, his mercy, and how he’s willing to forgive.

And he says, though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow, and though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. So the Lord is saying here that all you have to do is simply come and reason with him and receive him as the Savior and he will totally forgive your sins which is wonderful and how wonderful that is. But then in Corinthians 5 we’re talking about people who are saved that we then need to of course live a life that’s pleasing to the Lord and separate ourselves from people that or not because as the Bible says, evil companions corrupt our good manners.

And so if you’re hanging out with people that aren’t living for the Lord, you’re probably going to drag you down. I remember as a brand new believer realizing there were some friends that I had to just get rid of. And if you read the first Psalm, it says, blessed is the man that does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly which are the unsaved and doesn’t sit with them and participate with them. But the one whose mind is in the God’s word where he meditates in God’s law day and night, that’s the man who’s going to be fruitful and be happy and so on.

So I think that we have two different things going on here. I think Isaiah 1 is talking to Israel lost and away from their Savior, their Creator. And he’s being invited to become saved. But then in chapter 5 of Corinthians we call my people are already saved. And earlier in that chapter you see a man who’s living in fornication in chapter 5 and verse 1 with his mother, probably a stepmother. But in any case he was proud and the Lord through Paul says in verse 5 to deliver such a one unto Satan for the destruction of his flesh that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

So the Lord would take that man home. We were asked that question earlier where our passage is where the Lord takes Christians home to have an early. Well that’s an example of that where this man would maybe die as a result of some sexual sin or who knows what the cause of death would be. yet he would still be saved when he gets to heaven. Right. Well, what if people are using that first chapter of Isaiah to basically say, you know, if they’re in the church and they’re having a relationship with someone who is supposedly saved, but who continues to be involved in immorality and then says that if, you know, as long as they’ve repented and turned their life around, then there’s no reason why they shouldn’t continue to associate with them or build a relationship with them.

Well, if they have put it behind them, that’s not a ballgame, but if they’re openly still sitting, then we are to shun them and to, the church should not fellowship with them. And that’s what it’s saying there. I think it says have no company with them. And then of course it tells us that we can’t totally cut ourselves from everybody in the world that commit sins. Otherwise we’d have to leave the planet. We live here in a sinful world and we’re to be lights.

But we need as Christians to be careful that we don’t condone sin or that we fellowship with those that are openly sitting. We need to withdraw from them and we need to basically tell everybody to look for somebody who’s more spiritual than you are and let them mentor you. and let them encourage you so that you can go to the next level. You don’t want to pick somebody who’s less spiritual than you and say, I’m going to follow you because they’ll drag you down.

But isn’t that not really showing the love of Christ? Because Christ was even asked about the Ten Commandments, about what was the greatest commandment. And he said, basically, to love with all your hope. Well, yeah, of course. But the love of person is your, you know. But again, you’ve got to have purity within the church or you have an immoral church. And the Corinthian church was really plagued with that. And Paul wrote that letter to tell him that they needed to really straighten up.

And he talked about that one man living in fornication that the Lord would take his life. And he would still be saved one day when he stands for the Lord. And then he warns them about loss of reward. And by God’s chasing in their life. in chapter 11, chapter 10 he talks about how God took 23,000 Christians home in one day. And so he was pretty strong about what he was saying that they needed to get their act together.

So, Dr. Lindstrom does it basically then bow down to, I guess, the will. In other words, if you’re in a church and for instance in a premarital type situation and choosing a mate and someone who has, from what you were just saying previously, who’s had a moral life and continued to sin even while in the church versus, you know, turning away from that person and maybe looking for someone that is following Christ more closely. Is that the best thing to do?

Yeah, absolutely. You really don’t want to follow someone who’s living anymore. If you want to follow somebody who’s living trying to please the Lord. So definitely you need to pick the right friends. I would read the first song. It’s very good about how if you pick the wrong people to hang with, it’s going to lead you down downward progression. You see that in the Bible that there’s a progression of drifting away from the Lord. You need to stay tight with the Lord.
