But we are dependent upon our listeners to be able to be on the air because we have no other means of support. Maybe you’d like to commit to pray for Bibleline. And if you do, we would be most gracious because we really desire that you would pray for us. But also if you could give to Bibleline, that would be a wonderful way to keep us on the air. And you can do that two ways. You could do it by mail.
And we can send you on both if you want to call with our address on it. You could mail it in. And also you could do it by credit card over the phone with our operators. And you You can call in with that or you could also do it online a third way by going to our online bookstore. There’s a place where you can give to Bible and well guess what we are going to take a look at the Bible for a few minutes and we’ll take our callers.
People are already calling in today and we would love to have you call in as well. There are some wonderful wonderful verses in the Bible that I think when you have them called your attention that will help you in understanding how to rightly divide the word of God. I want you to turn with me to the book of Acts, chapter 28. We have Paul the Apostle. He’s in Rome. He’s on house arrest. He is telling Jewish people there in Rome why he’s there and he’s witnessing to them.
And what is so interesting is in verse 24 of Acts chapter 28 it says, Some believed the things which were spoken and some believed not. I think that’s a very significant verse because once you see it, I think you’ll see it everywhere that the Bible divides the whole world into two groups. Those that believe and those that believe not. I say there’s two kinds of Methodists, two kinds of Presbyterians, two kinds of Baptists, two kinds of Roman Catholics. There are those that believe, and that word means really to trust, that trust Jesus as their only hope of heaven, trusting in his death and shed blood is the only means by which their sins have been forgiven, and when they trust him they are saved, and then there are those who have not trusted Christ and are lost.
and there are two kinds of baptists, two kinds of methods, two kinds of Lutherans, two kinds of whatever, those that have believed or trusted Christ as their only hope of heaven and those that have not, those that are saved and those that are not. So it doesn’t matter really as far as going to heaven what church you’re affiliated with because that doesn’t get you to heaven. Christ is the Savior and if you have Christ you have life. Let me read the verse again.
Paul is witnessing, and some believed that word means to trust the things which were spoken, and some believed not. Now what did Paul speak here? Well it says here that he testified the Kingdom of God persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the Law of Moses and out of the prophets from morning till evening. You know the New Testament at this time was not compiled, and so Paul used the Old Testament to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and he persuaded them all day long for morning the evening, and some of them trusted Christ, and some did not trust Christ as Savior.
And that’s ever so. Whenever I have an audience before me, I know that there’s some there that have not trusted Christ. And there are some perhaps that have trusted Christ. So it’s very important for us to see the world in that way. John 3, Jesus said, He, the believer on Christ, is not condemned, but He, the believer not, is condemned already because He hath not believed. Notice two groups, those that believe on Christ not condemned, those that believe not on Christ condemned already because they have not believed or trusted on the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven and all those that believe are saved and those that do not believe are lost. And notice wherever you look in the Bible, once you see this you’ll see it everywhere. Some believe and some believe not. Some believe and some believe not. Let me go over to Acts chapter 17. Here you find Paul as he ministers the gospel at Thessalon-Nikah. He writes two letters, two epistles, to the people at Thessalonica called First and Second Thessalonians.
But when Paul came to Thessalonica, look at what it says here about how he ministered out of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It says in Acts 17 and verse 1, now when they had passed through Empiphilus and Epilonia, they came to Thessalonica where was a synagogue of the Jews. And Paul, verse 2, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three Sabbath days reasoned with them out of the Scriptures, opening and alleging that Christ must needs have suffered and then risen again from the dead, and that this Jesus, whom I pretend to you, is Christ.
Notice again the New Testament front not yet written, and Paul here goes to the Scriptures, Old Testament Scriptures, he opens them up and he alleges that Christ would come and suffer and then rise again from the dead and this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is the Christ of the Messiah. So he used the Old Testament to give them the message of the death, the burial, the resurrection of Christ and we find that the Bible tells us here that some of them believed.
And then we have in verse 5 there were those that believe not, wherever you look it seems like you have the two groups, those that believe and those that believe not. Sometimes we get involved with saying well what church do you attend or what denomination are you a part of and that really has no bearing on your salvation except you may be attending a false church but otherwise it has no bearing at all on your salvation. If you are a believer, if you have believed on Christ, that he died, shed his blood, paid your sin debt and full, was buried and rose again from dead, and you believe or trust that he did not for you, then you are saved.
And those that believe not, that do not trust Christ as their Savior, no matter what church they attend or they are a member of, are lost. And so the Bible is very clear. I’m just giving you a few illustrations because the Bible divides the world into two groups those that believe and those that believe not John the Baptist also gives us that Division if you read John 336 John the Baptist said he the belief of on the Sun has everlasting life Then he says but those that believe not the Sun shall not see life life, but the wrath of God abides on them.
Again, He gives us the two groups. Those that believe have eternal life, those that do not believe or do not trust Christ, will not see life, but the wrath of God abides upon them. So, what are you? Are you a believer or are you not a believer? And a lot of people will say, well, I’m a Baptist or others will say, I’m a Roman Catholic or others will say, I’m a Lutheran. Well, guess what? That has no bearing at all on whether you are saved, because it is whether or not you have trusted Christ that obviously gets you into heaven.
Jesus said, whosesoever believeth in Christ should not perish but have everlasting life? That is John 3 16. For God so loved the world, Jesus said that he gave his only begotten son, that whosesoever believeth in Christ should not perish but have eternal life, but the negative is also implied. That if you do not believe, you will not have everlasting life and you will perish. So whether or not your believer is what determines whether you’re saved or not. And so you might be a church member, you might be active.
I’ve led a number of people to Christ here in this past year that were over 80, attended church all their life and never knew how to go to heaven because they were trusting in their church membership. They were trusting in their good works and their good deeds to get them to heaven when they discovered the Bible says salvation is not a works. It’s the gift of God that Christ purchased our salvation by His death and shed blood. That the only way to heaven was to trust Christ and that put them in a group that would be saved.
Those that would believe would have eternal life and not be condemned, but those that would not believe would be condemned and would not see life, but the wrath of God would be upon Him for all eternity. My friend, I’m Dr. Ankeren Kincin, and this is by the line, I trust that you have put your trust in Jesus as your Savior. And if you have, at the very moment you trusted Christ, you received everlasting life at that moment. You don’t wait until after you die to get eternal life.
It’s received at the moment you believe. And because it’s eternal, you’ll have it tomorrow, you’ll have it next week, you’ll have it next year, you’ll have it a hundred years from now, you’ll have it a million years from now, you’ll have it a billion years from now, it’s eternal life that God offered. It’s not probation, it’s salvation. Well, again, thank you for tuning in to Bible and the Bible and Dr. Englund, so we’re going to go to the phone line.
You can call us if you want and be on the air live with us right now at 1-800-576-37. We are going to go to Ken Indicator, Illinois. And Ken, welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Hello Dr. Hank. Yes Sir Ken. I’ve got a question about the konai in the bloodline of Joseph and Mary. You remember konai in Jeremiah 2330? You know God said that he would never, his seed would never set up on the throne of David and that nobody would, you know, ruling in Judah.
And I heard you talk on this one time on this bloodline. And Jesus could not have come through the bloodline that Konaia was in. And that’s why Joseph was not the father of Christ. Also, not only the curse of Krenaia would have been upon Jesus had Joseph been the real father of Christ, but also the curse of Adam, the sin nature of Adam would have been passed on to Jesus had Joseph been the father. But because Joseph was not the Father, but God was the Father.
Jesus was sinless. But because Joseph was not the Father, the airship to the throne could be passed on, but the curse of Kaniya would not be upon him. Jesus also, physically of the flesh, was related back to David through his other son Nathan. And that’s what we have in the genealogy in MOOC Chapter 3. There you have the genealogy on Mary’s side, and you’ll find that Mary was related back to David through You saw Nathan, the lineage in Matthew’s Gospel gives us the lineage back to David through Solomon, the King of Lion and Joseph was on that line, but Joseph could pass on the heirship to the throne, but not actually pass on the curse of Kaddiah because he was not It’s not the father.
Right. Okay. Well, that’s what I was trying to get straight down because I was in a conversation with a person and I had anyway, there’s been a death in the family and he was concerned about the his bloodline being passed on through some nephews because he had nobody else and they were the most on God. But the kids that you’d ever want to meet and I was trying to tell them how so well actually you have to worry about your bloodline because your bloodline is through the Lord Jesus Christ now because you’ve been born into the family of God.
So the only people in your family are going to continue on through eternity in your bloodline of those who have accepted Christ as their Savior. Then your bloodline goes on and on and on and on forever. That’s a wonderful thing to think about, I guess, when you’ve got no bloodline children in this world, but yet you have the bloodline of the Lord Jesus Christ to be a born in his family. I need you to get that straight from you on this Konaia business because that’s what I was trying to show him was that Jesus, you know, the blood of Jesus, when, you know, when we accept Christ as our Savior, we are basically, we’re washed and cleansed in his blood and we’re of his bloodline because we’re born into the family of God from then on spiritually in his bloodline.
Anyway, thank you, Dr. Horritt. You think you can? And every one of us are, as believers, related to one another by the blood of Christ in the family of God as you mentioned were members of God’s family brothers and sisters in that family by a new birth but just because you’re born into this world is not place you in the family of God. We don’t have Rodney in Flint, Michigan. Rodney welcome to Bibleline your own ear. Yes, Dr. Lutee not able to make proper decision.
Where did they go if they died pre-mitch when they died? Well I I believe they go to heaven and the answer I usually appeal to 2 Samuel 1223. David had a child by Bathsheba. The child became ill and after 7 days the child died. David makes this remarkable statement in 2 Samuel 1223 that the child would not return back to him but that he would go to be with that child. Now we know David was saved. The 23rd Psalm David said I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
So David knew he would be joined together to his child. He is an infant child and a died. So we believe before the age of accountability, any children that die will go directly to heaven. Christ died for everyone, potentially everybody can be saved. They’re under the blood until they reach the age of accountability. And that varies I think for each child. I think the best verse I’ve ever found on that is the last verse in the book of Jonah where God himself tells us that there were in Nineveh.
120,000 children that couldn’t tell their left hand from their right hand. Apparently, that’s the age when they become accountable. I know some adults can’t tell their left hand from their right hand, so I don’t know if they’re accountable or not. But some are never going to become accountable, and whenever they die, they’ll go directly to heaven. Okay, and that’s Jonah? Oh, Jonah. Yeah, Jonah. The last chapter, chapter four, the last verse. Chapter four and the last verse. Okay, well that’s interesting, I didn’t know that.
Okay, that asks us pretty well much what I need to know. Well, wonderful, and thank you for calling in Rodney in Flint, Michigan. We’re going to go back to Michigan this time. We have Buddy in Lake Odessa, Michigan, and Buddy, welcome to Bibleline, and you are on the air. Morning, Pastor. Good morning. Well, we have a beautiful weather this morning. nice and cool and close guys and wow perfect perfect weather you mentioned arcy you did not mention the fact that he absolutely he is a proterist he believes that Nero was the antichrist that the tribulation period was from 80 64 to 70 that Christ came back in 80 70 when the Romans took Jerusalem That is kind of weird.
And another thing you may just study about. I think the chain is flawed. I have one and it’s got a lot of wonderful materials in the back from maps and weights and measures and great stuff for Bible trivia. But their chain is not consistent. I find that a lot of people who have bad doctrine use the Thompson chain and I think the Thompson chain maybe has been responsible for the bad doctrine. So there’s a chain in the Schofield Bible which I recommend and it’s usually right on.
I mean it is excellent and it doesn’t steer you off. In the Thompson chain you start off on one doctor and then it takes you to another and if you don’t know what you’re doing you can be misled by the chain. So I don’t like it as much. I have it within a few feet of me but the Bible I like is the Old Schofield Reference Bible. Thank you and thank you for calling in all the way from Laco, Desa, Michigan.
That was Buddy calling in. We now have Jeff down in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. And Jeff, welcome to Bibleline. I know I’m here. Good day. Thank you for taking my call, Pastor. You’re welcome. Preston, I would just like to make the statement to you that you always make is that we are saved by great true faith. And that Christ alone, not the only way we are saved, not by our words, let the enemy suppose and I always hear you repeat that.
Questions, sir? If I really believe and I really have faith in Christ, he’s a full guide for me. I represent him that guide for me. Well, it should. You know, there’s a difference in our standing, which is perfection in Christ. And our state, we’re actually still in a sin nature and still sin as believers. And all of our lives should be a closing of the gap. We ought to be striving to be more Christ-like every day and bring our life into conformity to the standing that we have in Christ.
Again, the Schofield Bible has some wonderful notes. You can go on my website and I have online books on the left corner and that will give you the book by Dr. Schofield on how to rightly divide. I’m going to have to say goodbye to you folks out of Miami because you go off the air right now and we’ll continue on with other stations but we’ll be back again tomorrow and thanks for calling in Jeff and Miami we’ll see you tomorrow.
Anyway we’ll go back to continue with Jeff here but the rightly dividing the word of truth is so important and you’ll see Paul telling us very plainly that our standing in Christ is that we were absolutely seen as righteous as though we had never sinned, judicially declared righteous in God’s court of law based on the Christ’s substitution of your death. But in our actual state, Paul says in Romans 7 and 18, I know that in me that it’s in my flesh, dwoth no good thing for how to will is present with me, but how to perform that which is good I find not for the evil that I would not that I do in the And the good that I would not, that I don’t.
And so he talks about this conflict between the two. And so the believer has a struggle between two natures. We’re going to Israel. I would love to have you go. February 25th, my money will take off and leave for Tel Aviv and will explore the country from one end to the other. Love to have you go. Call me and really call me and I’ll be glad the operators will have put you right through to me. We’ll talk about the trip.
I’ll get a brochure out to you in the mail immediately or you can look at it online. Go to Bibleline News on the home page of our website, BibleLineMinistries.org and you’ll be able to pull down the full four-page brochure and the two-page itinerary and get all the information you need. Also, don’t forget that if you’re living in the area here of Tampa, we’re going to have a class beginning next Tuesday night on 1 Peter. We’ll do 10 hours of teaching over 5 week 7, actually about 7, 10, 7, 15 at 9 till 9, 15 at 9, 2 hours.
And we’ll also make those available on CD and see you can purchase those. And it’s a cost of $50 a gift to Bibleline to be able to take the class. I hope you will. We’re going to have to go to break time and we’ll come back into a second half hour of Bibleline. So I hope you’ll keep you ready to write where it is. We’ll take a short break. We’ll come right back and we’ll do another half hour on the internet.
You can catch us all the way through. So don’t go away. Keep you ready to write where it is. I’ll be right back. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. Englund. It’s great to be with you today. They thank you so much for tuning in. We really do appreciate our audience and we have people coming by all the time to our Bible and headquarters and we get a chance to meet you and we really do appreciate that opportunity.
We have people coming by every day and wow, it’s really an exciting event when we get to meet the listener that listens to Bible and you know a lot of these people who come by say they’ve never actually called a program. That amazes me. They listen faithfully and we are so appreciative of it. God bless you and I am so glad that my blind is a blessing to so many. Let me just tell you the facts of life that we are listeners supported and we need your help.
If you could pray for us that would be wonderful and if you can give a gift to my blind to keep us on the air you know we have to pay to be on the air. It’s not free and it costs a great deal of money believe it or not and we are extending ourselves out right on the edge so that we’re very, very tight because we want to be out with the gospel as far as we can go.
And you know, we don’t pay any salary, so we’re probably the most efficient ministry out there because we really just throw all the money right back into getting the gospel out. We believe that the time is getting short. urgent that we reach as many people while we can because you know once Jesus comes and he snatches out all the believers we won’t be able to do anymore. So obviously we’re trying to do it while we can while we’re living and while we have opportunity.
Would you consider giving a gift to Bible? You could call right now and you could offer a gift by credit card over the phone. If you’d like to mail a gift you can ask for envelopes to be sent with our address on it and you can mail that gift in. You can also go online by the line ministries.org. Click on the online bookstore. There’s a place to give there to Bible. And we want to say thank you in advance.
God bless you and thank you for your prayers and for your gifts to Bible. I’m going to make this program possible. We also of course want you to know that we have our sermons online. You can watch them at any time of day or night, a year’s worth sitting there by the ministries dot org click on the camera you want to watch a television programs their live there if you click on the t-v set and if you want to listen to radio programs they’re there if you click on the spinning globe and you know you can download the radio programs i have a fellow here in our church right now that is visiting here who listens to my blind and he’s downloaded i think two hundred and seventy hours of by blind in his i thought amazing.
We’re going to go back down to a second half hour by one so keep you ready to right where it is. We’ll be right now starting a second half hour. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. All right, we’re back from that break and it’s exciting to be with you here on Bible on every day It’s wonderful, you know that we can get together like this and talk about the Bible get your questions answered I had one lady tell me that she had a question.
She asked her pastor He said to her submit it in writing and give me eight weeks Well, she said I didn’t have eight weeks She called Bible and got an answer right then. We try to give you a real quick answer and a scriptural answer. And if I don’t know the answer, we’ll tell you I don’t know the answer and we’ll try to research it and get it for you. But no doubt about it. The Bible has answers. And I think it’s encouraging.
It was for me to know that the Bible had answers. And Peter tells us in 1 Peter chapter 3 and verse 15 to be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear. Peter is telling us to be prepared to give answers to people around us that ask questions and we hope that we are helping you get answers to your questions that you will be able to give to the people that you love and that are asking you for answers.
And that’s exciting. It really is exciting to see what God is doing through Bibleline and through our listeners as we hear the stories and we’re excited about that. You know we have our webcast of our Sunday worship services and when we give our invitation here one lady called me and said, I know you couldn’t see me but I raised my hand in front of my computer as you gave the invitation to trust Jesus as Savior. And I great, we’re reaching people around the world on the internet and our worship services are there for you to view and you’ve got a year’s worth of servants sitting there if you want to take a look by going to Bibleline Ministries dot org clicking on the camera or listening to our TV programs by clicking on the TV set or listening to the radio programs by clicking on the spinning globe.
Lots there for you. Again, we’re going to Israel coming up real soon. I want you to be with me. We have a super time. It’ll be 15, the trip number 15 for me and we’re going to be just be everywhere. be at the Sea of Galilee. We’ll be there where Christ fed the 5,000. We’ll sail on a boat similar to the boat that the fishermen use, except a larger scale. And we’ll be out on the Sea of Galilee. You’ll get to see the fishermen and the nets and just be able to go back in time to the time of Christ and make the Bible, it makes the Bible live for you.
We’ll get to eat some fish from the Sea of Galilee. Just like the fish they ate 2000 years ago the kind that Jesus and the disciples ate. I hope you’ll go with me. Give me a call. I’ll talk to you personally. I’ll have the operators make sure you get your call right through to me and I’d love to have you travel with me. It’ll be a wonderful trip. 12 full days in Israel. We’ll leave on a Monday come back on a Friday a week later and I hope you’ll go with me.
February 25th. Give me a call and we’ll see that we’ll make it happen we have a lot of calls that we’re going to go to tom in richmond virginia and we have six lines and they’re all six of them light it up we’ll try to get to everybody as quickly as we can come welcome the babbling from richmond virginia and the morning and i think i’ve got some information for you on that tomson chain reference bible i don’t know there’s a couple of passages and i lay it where they actually take the word israel and and change it to the word church i don’t know if you’re aware of that i was that Okay well I’m driving right now Hank but it’s been a pretty short time there.
I’m not sure where but I will find out and give you a call back. But I did look and I actually checked the 10 reference Bible and it changed. They’ve done it. That is amazing. I’m just shocked every day of what’s happening with some of these Bibles and the New King James as well. Change the text without even warning you or telling you and it’s scary. Yeah, I’ve read that book that you have by Gail Riplinger and I’m currently reading another one and it displays you away when you tell more people if they ought to become more aware of the Thank you, Tom, so much.
And of course I’m not a King James only, but the King James has its flaws, but they’ve been around for so long. They’ve been worked out in most good reference bibles in the Scofield, usually takes care of the problems for you handling. You know, one of those is repent. That was a bad translation. The Greek word is metanoia means a change of mind, and the English word repent doesn’t mean the same thing. So that’s caused untold confusion. and has given the devil a way of adding works to salvation by telling you that you have to turn from sin to be saved, which is not true.
You come as you are, you get saved, the Holy Spirit involves you and give you the power to have victory over sin, and that’s after your saved. We now have Thomas in Tampa, Florida. Thomas, welcome to my book on the earth. Thank you, Pastor Hank. I have a, this is scripture is kind of perplexing to me. I’m not sure where it’s at, but it basically says, Jesus was speaking to those who are among Him. Instead, there are those who are among you.
You now, that will not take death until you see the coming, wouldn’t die until the second coming or whatever. I missed the five, so could you help me out? Absolutely. That’s in Matthew 1628. Christ there said there are some of you standing here that you’ll want to taste the death, so you shall see the son of man coming in his power and his glory. Well, if you go to the very next verse, chapter 17 of Matthew, it says that after six days, he goes up into a high mountain and he takes three of his disciples, William, Peter, James, and John, and there he’s transferred and they see him as he will be in the second coming just six days later.
So they didn’t die. They lived six more days and they saw it happen. So that’s what he was referring to. He saw his second coming six days later as he demonstrated what it would be like. I knew you would have the answer. I thank you so much, Pastor. You’re so welcome, Thomas. Thomas and Tampa. And boy people use that verse and they say the Bible isn’t accurate or Christ isn’t coming back because he told people his time that he would be back before they died and they just don’t they don’t do their homework.
We’re going to go down to Orlando in Orange City in the middle of the state and so Orlando welcome to Bylin. Thank you. I was watching Doug Blackbachelor. He’s one of the leaders of the Seven Day Adventist in California, one of the ministries there. I forgot the name of it. Anyway, we were talking about end-time events and he was saying, I know he’s wrong. He was saying about that coming up the Lord will be a visible thing. and it won’t be like a thief in the night, like most Christians believe and he was commenting that it was going to be a visible thing.
And also I want to see the comment from that. And also I want to let you know that buddy of mine told me he knows you and he says he also says he is the teacher, a right man for ice so work where he lives in the condos where he used to live where he lives now. Thanks for working on us. He said that you can find the URL. Real good teaching. I can work. So I’ll just get off the phone with the P on the radio.
Thank you so much. Here again we have to rightly divide the word of truth. The seven Edna is really far from the truth in so many ways, but there’s a difference between the rapture and the second coming. They’re not the same event. At the rapture Christ comes by Himself. First the salinity is 416 and says the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with the shout. and coming. Christ comes with all his angels and all his power and all his glory.
He is visibly seen at the rapture he is not seen. At the rapture Christ is coming for his saints. At the second coming he is coming with his saints. I have outlined about 20 differences between the rapture and the second coming. That article I have written is available to If you want to call and we can mail it to you or you can go to my website Bible The Rapture, snatch us out, we’ll beat the Lord in the air.
Nobody will see that except those that are caught up. Seven years later, he’ll come back visibly as King over the earth and rule and reign over the earth for a thousand years. We now have Ben in St. Petersburg and Ben, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. What would you say to somebody that would use Revelations 3.11, which speaks about let nobody take your crown as a scripture to use it against. Also Hebrews 1026. Okay. Well the first one there is your crown is not your salvation.
A crown is a reward. There are five specific crowns that are offered to believers as a reward. There is a soul in his crown. If you lead souls to Christ, you get a crown for each soul. I believe you lead the Christ. There is the sufferers crown. The one who suffers or is martyred for Christ that will receive a crown. There is the crown that is given to those who watch for Christ’s return. Second Timothy 4-8 tells us about a crown that if you are watching for Christ’s return, you’ll get a crown.
crown for keeping yourself pure and disciplined for the Lord and so on and so on. There’s a teacher’s crown, first Peter 5’4″, if you teach the word of God you’ll get the crown of glory. So you can lose crowns, you can lose rewards, but you cannot lose your salvation. So they obviously aren’t paying good attention. Salvation is always without exception, never will you find it very is a gift. It’s not a reward, it’s not a crown. It’s earned. The Christian life, in the Christian life, you can earn rewards, you can earn crowns, but you can’t earn salvation.
You receive that free as a gift. Are you still there Ben? I don’t know what was the second question. About Hebrews 10, 28 or 26? Yes, like 30. Well, in the Hebrews 10, 26, notice the writer of Hebrews includes himself in that verse. He says, if we sin willfully, after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remain a more sacrifice. What it’s saying is that you don’t need to become saved again, even if you sin willfully, after you’re saved you’ll never be lost, you’re saved eternally.
But then it goes on to talk about in the next verses about how God will discipline you, that there will be judgment for you, not only here in this life but at the judgment seat of Christ where you will suffer loss of reward. But the Lord will definitely deal with the delinquent believer and it says in verse 30 that the Lord shall judge his people. Verse 31 says it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the Lord and God.
And so if you live as you please willfully after your saved God will spank you. But he will never cast you out or lose you, John 637, John 639, he promises he never lose you, never cast you out. But he might invite you home to heaven early. In other words, you might take your life. So you can lose your rewards, lose your crowns, you can lose your life, you can lose your joy, you can lose your effectiveness, you can lose your testimony, but you cannot lose your salvation.
So Ben, I hope it helps. Yes, thank you. Thank you for that. All right, then that was great. And then calling in from St. Petersburg, we now have Jean in the very Florida and Jean welcome to Bibleline you on here. Thank you. I have a question actually if it’s verifiable. I’d like to know the prophetic side to this. If I can try to study genealogies and you do a wonderful job there. I’ve heard you many times. But I ran across this the other day.
From Adam to Abraham supposedly it’s a one thousand nine hundred forty eight years from Abraham to Jesus one thousand nine hundred forty eight years from Jesus to the birth of Israel again. nineteen forty eight years which actually happened in nineteen forty eight the one thousand forty eight year is that true do you know i’m not real sure but i don’t know if it could be because uh… uh… the bible is interesting to what the way God lays things out.
He’s got a real wonderful way of doing that and it makes good sense, but I’ll think about that. I haven’t looked at that, but that’s very entirely possible. Well, my curiosity is if that is correct and we’re soon we’ll be coming into the 48th year and 40 years of the new century. I wonder what the propheticness would be. I’m sure it’s the second coming. We’re about there. I think we’re getting closer every day. Of course the Rapture happens first, but seven years later the second coming will occur and we’re getting…
Thank you, Gene. We’ll try to do that. That was Gene in DeBary, Florida. You’re welcome to calls here at 1-800-576-3771. We’re going to start a brand-new teaching on Tuesday nights. I’ll be teaching two hours every Tuesday night. That will be for five weeks on first Peter. That’s going to be a wonderful study. It covers so many doctrines in 1 Peter, including Christians suffering from all the time. and being tested and tried here in this world. And it helps us understand what we can expect in our daily life as a Christian, and not be disappointed when we go through trials and tribulations, but to realize that this is something that God uses to make us more effective for him.
We’re going to have a great time, and we’ll also make these available on CD. But if you’re in driving distance, we want you to come by to sit in the classroom. There is a charge against the Bibleline for $50. It’s only $5 per class hour. And that helps a little bit to keep Bibleline on the air. But I think you’ll really enjoy the fellowship and the teaching. And that will be 1st Peter, beginning January 15th. Tuesday night, a week from the night.
We’ll be studying 1st Peter for five weeks, two hours per night. Actually, class probably won’t start till about 10 or 15 after 7. And it will run probably about 10 or 15 after 9. And we hope that you’ll be a student in the classroom. We’d love to have you. Also, don’t forget that Israel trip coming up real fast here in February 25th. I want you to go with me. We’re going to have a dynamic time and the Bible is going to live for you.
We just got back from the trip last March and I watched people change over those two weeks. It’s amazing how the Word of God in a concentrated way. It’s like transforming. No doubt about it. Nobody came home the same as when they left home. And that’s great. So I want you to go. Give us a call. And our hub, our hub is put your call right through to me. I’d love to talk to you. And there’s no reason to be afraid.
I think we’re going to have a safe and wonderful trip. I wouldn’t take you in the harm’s way. I definitely would not do that. So I think we’re going to have a wonderful safe trip. We didn’t even hear a car back far in the last trip. So we felt very safe, had a great time. We’re not going to do anything to endanger ourselves or put ourselves at risk. So, uh, plan to go with it. Okay, we have a number of offer questions.
I want to take a couple of those real quick here. And in the land floor, it leaves us off for a question, if God gave us a free will to choose him or not, if we don’t choose him, why are we punished? Well obviously the answer is that we’re already condemned, we’re already headed for hell. And what God has done is provided a way of rescue a savior. And if you don’t want to be rescued, then obviously you’re going to go on to your eternal fate.
The Bible says that we’re born into sin and that we have a sin nature. And the Bible says those that have not believed on Christ are already right now condemned of God. But if you trust Christ, you will not be condemned and not go to hell. So you’re already headed for punishment. You’re already going to be cast in an eternal like a fire. God has provided a Savior that if you choose Him, you will not go to help. We have Mary in Barco, Florida.
And Mary, good to hear from you. Welcome. You’re on the air. Good morning, Pastor Hank. I’d like to ask you a question about Genesis chapter 2 and, excuse me, chapter 1, verse 27. It says, where God created male and female, He created them in His own image. And he doesn’t say until the next chapter that he breathed life into them. So I don’t understand this. I’d like to hang up and listen to your answer and you have a God bless day.
All right. In chapter one you have a summary of what God did. And then in chapter two you have the details of how he did it. You know, I might tell you that I went to the grocery store and that’s a summary maybe of what I accomplished. But then I might go back in another chapter and tell you how that I owned the weight of the store. I went to the bank and I went to the post office and then I went to the store and what things I did while I was in the store and how I paid by cash or by credit card at the register and grab my bags and put them in the car and so on.
So basically chapter two gives you more detailed explanation and there is no contradiction there. But chapter one summarizes chapter two gives you the details. It’s that simple. complicated about it at all. Charles and George that leaves an unfair question for us. He says I received a large print Scofield Bible for Christmas. It is a 1917 Scofield with 1996 notes. Is this the same as the old Scofield? I would think so if it says it’s a 1917 but I don’t know what else it says there.
Oxford Press has really been clever in their marketing and they don’t really let you know really clearly sometimes what they’re doing. But the new hybrid you definitely don’t want and the new skill field you don’t want. They have tampered with the text of the Bible, they’ve also tampered with the notes and they’ve also added new notes and not by Dr. Schofield. If it says it’s a 1917 edition, I would hope that that’s it, but that 1996 part scares me, so I really don’t know.
If you could photocopy that page and fax it to me or mail it to me, I’ll take a look at that copy of that page and see what I think. Thank you, Charles. I really don’t know the answer without looking at your Bible in my hand. Joyce in Charlotte, Bill North in New York calls in, leaves us off her question, referring to 2 Corinthians and the Macedonian Church beyond their ability, what does this mean? In chapter eight, it talks about the people of Macedonia being very poor, poverty, stricken.
And yet they gave abundantly is what it means. They gave beyond what they should have been able to give, They sacrificially gave to where they apparently sort changed themselves in other areas. So they gave abundantly. And here Paul applauds them for their love and their desire to please God and see the gospel go forth that they really dug deep. And although they didn’t have much, they gave a lot. And I know a story of a missionary and he said that the tribe he was dealing with was very, very poor.
And he didn’t have the heart to ask them to give an offering because they were so poor. But then he read the scriptures and said, if I don’t tell them to give, then I’m cheating them out of the blessing of giving and God rewarding them for their faithful giving. And so he told them that they wanted to build a church and he told them that if they would give that God would bless. And so one brought an egg from his chicken.
Another brought some other item and didn’t seem like much. But they took those things and then they sold them and they got money. Eventually they built the church to that and God blessed abundantly to build it. church out in the jungle. This mission has gone really taught him a lesson. It also richly blessed the people as they gave and saw the result of their giving, but they didn’t have much to give. They gave what they had. God blessed them richly.
This is really what is talking about there in 2 Corinthians chapter 8 about the Macedonians giving. All right, we have the phone number here’s 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. We have here Steve in Seminole, he leaves an offer question, explain the camel to the eye of a needle. What is the eye of a needle? I believe, at least I have seen and has been told to me in Israel, you would have the gates on the city that they would close at night because while people are sleeping, an enemy army could come in and take the city very, very easily.
So what they would do is they’d have a little gate in the bottom of the big gate. So if you came after sundown when the gates of the city were closed, they would open that little gate and for you to get through the little gate, you would have to bend down in order to enter. So one or two guys could defend the city because as you’re bent over, if you’re an enemy they could take a baseball bat and hit you over the head and you’re done for.
Then they could drag you out of the way and hit the next guy over the head because you could only enter one by one by one and you’d have to be bent over and very vulnerable entering the city that way. So easy way to defend the city. If you came right at night with your camel, if you get your camel through that, you A little gate inside the big gate called the Needles Eye was almost nine upon possible. He had to pull on one end and shove on the other.
The camel had to be down on its knees. And that’s really the story of it. It’s more difficult for a camel to enter to the eye of the needle than for a rich man in a heaven. And I think that’s what it’s talking about. We are about out of time, but real quick, Chris and Seminole, if you have a question real quick, we can maybe say something about it. I’m sorry. We have a few seconds left. Oh, okay. I don’t have time.
Well, God bless you. Have a great day. All right. We’ll catch you tomorrow. Sorry about that time. It’s just out. Anyway, we have to run. I hope you’ll call us about Israel. I hope you’ll be thinking about the Tuesday class on 1 Peter next Tuesday. If you’re in the area, I hope you’ll call and maybe give a gift to Bibleline. We’re listening to support and we need your help. And then you can do that by credit card over the phone or ask for an envelope to be sent.
I hope everybody listening has trusted Jesus Christ the Savior and received God’s free gift of eternal life that’s offered to all that would believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. And I hope that you’ll have a great day today and please join us again tomorrow. And if you can, if you’re in the area, come by and see us. Our resource centers open every day till about 4.30. You can always come to a worship service as well. We love to have you.
to run, keep looking up, Jesus is coming. We believe He’s coming soon. And if you’re a believer, you’re going to be caught up to be with us. Well, I’m Dr. Englunds-Stru, and we had a great time being with you today. This Tuesday, the year 2008, amazing how we have passed right on through 2007. Here we are in 2008, and a brand new year. And pray for Bibleline as we try to reach out with the gospel, to answer people’s questions and try to make the issues of Bible clear so you can understand them and how you can be able to use them to share with your family and friends and others that you’ll be able to be a witness to.
Pray for Bible and we are a list of support and we do need your help. If you could consider giving a gift to Bible and it would really be appreciated. gift is a small call and give a gift by credit card over the phone. We had to leave this weekend that gave $8 on our credit card. I thought, how wonderful. Thank God. We appreciate all of those who give a gift. No matter what size, we believe God is going to supply.
He does through you, the listener, enjoy the program that would like to be a part of the ministry. It’s not how much you give, but it’s giving of how God has blessed you. And if you only have a little and you can give a little, God like the widow’s might is going to honor you for that gift. If you’re able to give much more, then God will bless you to the degree that you give and percents with what you have available to give.
I believe that God works it that way. When Christ talked about the widow, he talked about the rich man that they gave out of their abundance and it really wasn’t a burden upon them to give. But with the widow, she gave all that she had, all her living, and got immortalized her by her faithfulness in giving that little mite, the last coin that she had, she gave it all. She gave 100 percent. Wow. And that little widow is going to be honored for that for all eternity.
Isn’t that great? I think that’s kind of neat. We have to run, but we’ll be back again tomorrow. Hope you’ll join us here on Bibleline and every day. And don’t forget to pass that word on to your friends as well. Keep looking up. Jesus is coming. You’ve been listening to Bibleline, a presentation of Bibleline Ministries of Tampa, Florida.
