Thanks for tuning in to the broadcast. We look forward to being with you every day. Monday through Friday as we come to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church where I’m the pastor.

Thank you for tuning in today and by the way you can catch this program on the internet live right now. Also, you can go back and catch that in archive and listen to it as often as you like any time of day, any place in the world. That’s exciting. 152 countries have logged in. The latest one being Georgia, not the state of Georgia here in the United States, but the country of Georgia between Russia and Turkey. We’re excited about all over the world.

People are finding Bibleline on the internet. Plus, our worship services are there. We had people all over the world yesterday watching our worship service. You can go to our website, BibleLineMinistries.org, click on the camera, you’ll be connected to the worship services in our archive. If you do it 11 o’clock on Sunday morning, you’ll catch it live wherever you might be on the planet. We had a young man attending our church services yesterday and he said his girlfriend in Scotland was watching the worship service over there.

interesting, isn’t it? What a small world has become because of the internet and the other modern technologies that we have. By the way, we’re leaving for Israel February 25th. I’d love to have you go with me. It’s getting close to the end here, but we want you to get in. We still have room and we’ll have a wonderful trip. We’ll leave February 25th a Monday coming back on March 7th a Friday, 12 full days in Israel. We’re going to have a wonderful time.

I would love to have you go with me. It will be trip number 15 for me, and we’ll be having a great time. We were there this past March and we had a safe trip, a wonderful trip and we’re going back and we’re going to do some new things. And some of the old things will always, of course, visit the Hill of Calvary, the Tomb of Christ, the Sea of Galilee, and see the Mediterranean and baptize in the Jordan River.

We’re going to have a great time. I hope you’ll go. Give me a call. We’ll get that brochure right out to you. I’ll be happy to talk to you about the trip and tell you what you need to do. And we want you to go. Also, we start a brand new class. If you’re in the Tampa Bay area and in driving distance, we at seven o’clock tomorrow night will have a new class. We’ll have a new class. I’ll be teaching first Peter for five weeks on Tuesday night.

We’ll be teaching first Peter. You’re welcome to come and be a student. There is a charge and that’ll be a gift of Bible and a fifty dollars, just five dollars per class hour. But we’ll do ten hours on first Peter. What a wonderful book that is. All kinds of doctrines are touched on in first Peter. And of course the main theme will be the sufferings and the trials that Christians go through. And maybe that would be something that would fit what’s happening in your life right now, if you’re going through any trials or difficulties you’ll want to become familiar with first peters.

Give it a try. That’ll be tomorrow night and we really actually start the class something about 10 or 15 after the hour. So it’ll go from 7.15 to about 9.15 and we hope that gives you time to get off from work and get over to the class. If you live in another area, you can get these classes on CD. We will be recording them. And also, we are going to make them available on DVD. We now have available now our worship services on DVD and also our classes and sermons available on CD.

So you can get it either way if you’d like to get a CD of the Sunday Morning Worship service or a DVD of the Sunday Morning Worship. You can do that also. These classes on 1st Peter, you’ll be able to get them if you like on DVD and watch the video. You’ll be right there in the classroom. You can also get the CD set and we hope you’ll take advantage of that as well. Good to be with you. We’re excited about the brand new week.

This is Monday and we’ll be here Lord willing all week long and we hope that you’ll be joining us and telling your friends about the Bibleline program. We are excited, of course, about the times in which we’re living. We believe that Christ is going to return and we don’t set dates, but we know we should be watching as the Bible tells us that we should be watching for the Lord Jesus Christ to return. If you are a student of the Bible, then you certainly want to become familiar with 2 Timothy 215.

And it says there is study to show thyself approved unto God a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. This is a great verse and it is one that every Christian really ought to take to heart. Study. You need to study God’s Word. It’s very important. It’s our manual. It’s our workbook. It’s our blueprint. It’s our guidebook. It is the book that you need to know. And it requires some study. You just can’t go to sleep at night, putting the Bible under your pillow and expect to wake up in the morning and you’ll understand it.

That’s what I think the problem with some of these newer translations are being promoted as so easy to read or understand that you really miss the meeting because they delete things and they sometimes actually change the meeting. You don’t want that. Some of these translations absolutely attack major doctrines within the Bible and you need to be alert to that. We have a book here in our resource center called New Age Bible Versions. And for a gift of $20 you can get that.

It’s about 800 pages thick. It will cover most of the new modern translations that are out there and lets you see what’s going on for yourself as you can actually look at the verses that have been changed or altered. And it makes a big difference. Some of the Bibles, for example, the New Schofield Bible, changes the text sometimes without even telling you. In Matthew chapter 7 where it says narrow is the way that leads unto life and broad is the way that leads to destruction, they change the word narrow to hard, H-A-R-D.

That’s a totally different concept. It doesn’t teach in the Bible that it’s hard to go to heaven, but it does say that it’s narrow in the sense that there’s only one way to heaven. There’s not two or three or four or five ways. There’s only one way. I remember in college hearing the illustration that of a wheel and you had all the spokes that led from the outside of the wheel to the hub. The hub supposedly being heaven and that each of the spokes represented a different religion and it didn’t really matter which spoke each shows or which religion you chose, they would all lead to the same place.

That’s not true. That’s not true. In fact, Jesus said in Matthew 7, 13 and 14 that all of the spokes except for one will lead you to hell. Baud is the way that leads you to destruction. But narrow is the way that leads to life and really that’s talking about the fact that it is exclusively in Christ. That Jesus is the only way to heaven, no one can enter heaven another way. There is no other way. Christ said, I am the way, the truth and the life, and no man can come under the Father but by me.

In John’s Gospel, chapter 10, Jesus talks about the shepherd, and he talks about himself being the good shepherd. And he says there, he in verse 1, verily, verily, I say unto you, he that entereth not in by the door into the chute fold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a robber and a thief. In other words, if you try to get into heaven any other way than through the door, and Jesus later in this chapter in verse 9 says he is the door, and by him if you enter in you’ll be saved.

But if you try to enter into heaven any other way, then you’re a robber and a thief. You’re trying to break into heaven. And guess what? You’re not going to be able to do it. It says here, let me read that verse again, John 10 verse 1, barely, verily I say unto you, he that entereth not in by the door into the sheepfold. But time is up some other way. The same is a thief and a robber. But he that enters in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep and then he says later, Verily, verily, I say unto you in verse 7, I am the door of the sheep.

Verse 9, I am the door by me if any man enter in he shall be saved. So to go to heaven is narrow in the sense that there’s only one savior and It’s amazing how many people have got this wrong and I know that I have heard it down through the years. People would say, when I would tell them that they needed to trust Jesus to go to heaven and then they would say, well you’re awful, narrow-minded. You believe that the only way to heaven is your way and I said, well my way of course is not really that important.

Christ is the way and the Bible very clearly says there is no other way in. Let me quote John 14, 6, Christ said I am the way, the truth and the life, and he says no man comeeth unto the Father but by me. No man comeeth unto the Father but by me. No man comeeth unto the Father but by me. That’s pretty exclusive isn’t it? And well somebody said to me, well you are sending everybody else to hell. I’m not sending anybody to help.

But the Bible is very clear that this is what God says. And obviously, He’s the one that makes the rules. And God said in His Word that only through Christ can you enter heaven. And by the way, He came and died on the cross of Calvary, completely paid your sin debt by His death and shed blood was buried and rose again from the dead. And when you believe that message, you become saved. The Word believed their meaning to trust.

You have to trust. It’s more than mental assent. It really is trusting in Jesus Christ as your only hope of heaven. I’m Dr. England Stroom. This is a Bibleline and we’re going to go to the phone lines in just a minute. The phone number is 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Give us a call and we’ll put you up on the air and we’ll try to answer your questions today and I hope that you will dial that number right now 1-800-576-3771. We have a new station North Adams, Massachusetts, an FM station and they’re playing us twice a day, 9 o’clock in the morning and 9 o’clock at night, two hours on that station every day.

We thank God for the station manager who uh… was listening to us on another station instead i’ve got to have that program running on my station he called me last week and said now get to listen to you on my own station in that great so we’re excited about that we’re going to go to the phone lines if you want to call twenty hundred five seven six uh… three seven seven one we’re going to go to jeff and jeff is in at lanta and uh…

jeff welcome to my lawyer on the internet with a georgia morning back to thank you for taking my call again you have just appreciate it you have just who is to us and we we like the word that up to you despite fourteen words it also in john four fifteen he said if you love me he my commandant and then also in john ten you’ve got done a few here my voice and i know them and they fall and done he was speaking on collosian two fourteen And Colosians 2014 speaks about blocking out the handwriting of ordinances that would against us.

Verse 16 speaks about let no man judge in need or drink or in new moon or holiday or the summer days. What was that talking about? Because you can run me through the verse 24 to 26. says that Moses wrote the laws, the ors. The ordinance is not the same commandment because Exodus 31 says God wrote the 10th. So the law that Moses wrote in view from the 31 24 to 26. What law is worth it? Numbers 12, numbers 28 first.

Well the answer is that there were about 969 laws that were given. God gave them all but Moses wrote those down with his hand whereas God himself with his own finger carved out the 10 commandments in the two cabots of the law. No one has ever kept the law. Jesus said in John chapter 7 verse 19, did not Moses give you the law and yet none of you have kept the law. Now once you trust Christ, you’re saved forever and the verse you referenced just a Mom ago in John’s Gospel Chapter 10, Jesus said… My sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow me.

There is not talking about following living the Christian life. It’s following him to heaven. Christ left to go back to heaven and he said, unless you have trusted him, you can’t go to heaven with him. Let me go to John chapter 8 which provides the platform for this. John 8 in verse 24, Jesus said, therefore, or Jesus says here, I said, therefore unto you that you shall die in your sins, for if you believe not that I am, you shall die in your sins.

And so just prior to that, he had said unto them, I am the way and I go my way and you shall seek me and shall die in your sins with her I go, you cannot come. you go, I cannot come because they were unbelievers. If they had believed and many of them did, then he says, you’ll follow me to heaven. That’s what Jesus said in John 14 when he left. He said, in my father’s house, there are many mansions.

If it were not so, I would have told you, I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you all, come again and receive you unto myself that where I am, there you may be also. So Let’s talk about following him to heaven, not living the Christian life. Now, in the Christian life, after we’re saved, we ought to follow Christ here, and that means it will be Soloners. Christ said in Matthew 4, 19, follow me, and I’ll make you fishers of men.

So I hope that helps, Jeff, and obviously rightly dividing, as we said a moment ago, is to separate between salvation, which is what God provides for us that we receive as a gift by faith and the Christian life where we reciprocate and live for Christ and can earn rewards which are totally separate from our being saved. We have Selby now in Atlanta. This is Atlanta Day. Selby, welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Air. Yes, Pius. Thank you for taking the call.

My question also pertains to our study on Friday. On the same text, Col. 2014. The definition of the question is, the definition in the Bible for sin says it’s the transgression of the law. I’d like for you to please specify those who still are not clear which law was made to the cause, because if it’s the term commandment, then it means there is no sin. Because sin is the transgression of the law. You see the most of it, thank you.

You’re very welcome. Actually, again, the law was taken out of the way as the means by which we would be living our Christian life. We are never saved by the law. Nobody’s ever been saved by the law. And obviously, there’s sin even when there is no law. If you read Romans 5, it makes it clear. Prior to Moses, men still sinned and we’re still experiencing death, the consequences of sin prior to the laws of Moses ever been given. But that was basically the way life in Israel would be conducted.

They would follow those laws. Today, we live under grace and we live not breaking the laws, but keeping them because we do it from the heart. I want to please the Lord, and so therefore I will obviously follow His instructions. I don’t do that because I’m obligated I do it because I want to. And that’s the major difference there. But nobody has ever been saved by any laws. Nobody’s ever kept them. So nobody can. In fact, it says in Galatians 3.10, there’s a curse upon somebody who’s attempting to be saved by the law.

Because curse is everyone that continues not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. Galatians 3.10. So you’re under a curse. And if you not only have to keep the law perfectly, you have to continue to do that all the days of your life. If you ever break one of those laws, you would be condemned. Obviously if you try to keep the Sabbath, that means you can do nothing. No work from Friday’s sundown to Saturday’s sundown.

In Numbers 15 you read about a man who picked up some sticks on Saturday. They took him out and stoned him to death. The penalty was death. If you ever went out and raked your yard, you’d be stoned if you lived in the Old Testament. They’d take you right out and you would be stoned to death. Obviously, you can’t do any work at all on the Sabbath. We have Gino in Tampa, Florida. Gino, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on here.

You can’t do it. Thank you. General, you have to turn your radio down. Gina, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Okay, thank you. I was calling and to find out about the scripture, the states, what we’re buying on earth, we’re buying in heaven and what we lose on earth. We also move in heaven. I want to find out what what is the meaning of that. I’m not having a problem with the fact. All right. Thank you, Gina. It’s talking about the church.

Christ didn’t know. produces the fact that he’s going to build his church in Matthew 16, Matthew 18 talks about his binding and loosing and is talking about within the church the leadership of the church can make decisions that are binding upon the congregation. Now we’re never bound to do something wrong or to break or violate scripture but let’s say that our choir director at our church decides that there’s a particular song that the church or the choir is going to sing over form before the congregation is on Sunday morning.

And let’s just say that the choir is going to sing the old rugged cross, the theme song for Bible Land. And let’s say that you say, well, I would like to sing what a friend we have in Jesus. Well, guess what? You are out of order. You are violating God’s will because the leadership has the authority to make decisions that are binding. This is for order and infrastructure. And obviously, if you went up there and sang what a friend we have in Jesus while the rest of the choir was singing the old rugged cross, it would cause, obviously, disruption and division and a problem.

Obviously, everybody in the choir needs to be singing the same tune. A seven-inch little superintendent under the authority of the leadership of the the church has the right to set the curriculum for the children. And all of a sudden if you decide you wanted to teach something else, you would be out of order as a Sunday school teacher. It’s binding upon you. If you don’t like that, you can appeal or you can find another church. But basically that’s what is talking about in Matthew 18 is that the leadership can make decisions that are binding so that the church flows in order and structure and that it’s in harmony.

and that makes perfectly good sense, doesn’t it? Thank you for calling in today. We have also here, Darnell in St. Petersburg, Darnell. Welcome to Bible Inn. Hey, how you doing, Dr. Hank? Question about Matthew 24 and our men of co-working this morning, we were looking at these verses here. And verse 51, there was a guy who has a flight cast with the hypocrites. And I didn’t have a chance enough to really look at it, but as we went over today, we were assuming that this guy was never saved.

He had not been a saved fellow. And I because I believe that you can never lose your salvation to. But could you explain it to just that just scripture? Right. In the word of hypocrite there, the Greek means unbeliever. So there he’s cast out. You know, a simple rule is you always interpret a difficult verse in the light of a clear one. In John chapter six and verse 37, Christ says, Him that cometh to me, I to know why it’s cast out.

This guy is cast asunder. So obviously he cannot be a believer because Christ will not cast out anyone under any circumstance for any reason. He makes that promise in John 6 37. So we know right up front that if this first seems to imply that a safe person being cast away and is lost and goes to hell, then it’s obviously a wrong interpretation. So we really find that the guy is an unbeliever and that’s what really says the word hypocrite there in the Greek is really unbeliever.

So he is not a believer and he’s cast out because he never trusted the Lord. Want to say goodbye to our Miami audience, thank you for tuning in down to Miami. We’re excited about being there and one day maybe we’ll get the full hour but we appreciate you all listening and we have to let you go early before the other stations go off the air but I just want to say a quick hi and a bye to you Miami listeners.

Okay, we now have Jerry in Plant City on the line and Jerry, welcome to Bible on your own year. Jerry, are you there? Yes sir. You have a question? Yes, I was wondering what was the significance 2012 that was on the learning channel. And that brother Jack Van Ampey spoke a little bit about it on his program this past week.

I didn’t know if you knew anything about that. And one other question, Tony Baker. Thank you. All right. Well, thank you very much for that call, Jerry. Definitely we’re living in the end times and what’s happening I think in the Middle East is really a sign that we’re close because they’re talking peace in the Middle East. peace everywhere. I think President Bush is now in Saudi Arabia talking peace there. He was in Kuwait. He was in Israel. And obviously, peace in the Middle East is a major thing predicted in the Bible.

And it says in 1 Thessalonians 5, those that when the world is talking about peace and security in the Middle East, that’s a sign that the rapture is about to happen and the tribulation period will be underway. You can read it for yourself in 1 Thessalonians We’re going to have to go to break here. We’re really coming up hard and fast on that break. But we’ll come back. We’ll do a second and a half hour. I want you to be with me.

We have a lot of colors out there trying to get in on the line today. 1-800 is the number 576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. We have David who’s been patient waiting over the break and David is in Bradenton, Florida and David, welcome to Bibleline, you’re on the air. Question I’ve been, uh, kind of studied the Passover in the Love and Bread and in, um, Leviticus 23, it talks about on the 14th day with the Passover. And then on the 15th day it was an 11 bread.

But you go over to Matthew 26 17. Um, it says now on the first day of the feast of an 11 bread, the disciples came to Jesus saying to him, where do you want us to prepare? for you to eat the Passover. And I kind of, when I understand Derek, kind of sounds like the Passover was the first day of 11 bread, so I’m trying to learn these feast days and I kind of have a hard time with that one.

Well, I… Well I agree with you. It gets you all complicated some time, but I believe that it really begins at the same time and it is really a picture of Christ’s sinless body. You’ll find that in the Lord’s Supper, which followed the Passover, Christ took the bread and gave thanks and broke it. it spoke of his sinless body. Levin is a symbol of evil or sin, and he broke that piece of bread which was representative of his body, and the picture there is that it was a sinless body by the fact that it was not leavened.

And so by the way, when the Jewish people observe the Passover, they take three… He’s of Motsam Bread, which are unleavened, and they take the middle piece and break it in half. And it’s interesting that I think that there’s a picture of the second member of the Godhead, the Lord Jesus Christ being the one who was crucified for you and for me. And then they wrap the half of that in a napkin and hide it. And after the Passover is over, the children are sent out to look for it.

And that’s a picture of the burial of Christ and the resurrection of Christ. And there’s some beautiful pictures there that are right in the face of every Jewish person that observes the Passover. And it’s all about Jesus. It’s all about His death. It’s about His burial. and it’s about his resurrection and that’s amazing is it kind of interesting yes it is and I just you know I’ve been trying to learn you know I and study the Hebrew from evening evening at evening so I wanted to try to find out did they ask me killed killed to the matter what time that’s easy.

When does the evening start with it the first night or with it the second night? Well, it can be either one. It actually reads back in Exodus between the evenings. And so the evening period was a twilight from three to six. And so it could have been on, and in this case, Christ observed it on the evening of the preparation day and then he himself was offered up on the evening of the Passover. And so both were legitimate. So he had the Passover dinner the night before the night of the eve of the crucifixion.

He died at three o’clock in the afternoon, which is in the evening. And he was buried by 6 p.m. I believe on Wednesday and in 72 hours after he was placed in the grave he came back from the dead. Okay. That makes sense. Okay. Good. Okay. Thank you David. And apparently a real student of the Bible there. We’re going to go now to Mary Ann in Orange City. Mary Ann, you’re on there. Mary Ann, are you there? I don’t know.

Let’s see here. Mary Ann, oh. Mary Ann once, Mary Ann twice. I don’t know. Mary Ann is not listening. Call back Mary Ann. We’ll try to get you up on the air. I thought we had the right line there, but we’ll check back with Mary Ann in just a few minutes. Can you, we’ll find out real quick what happened to Mary Ann. We have some off air questions that says here, Eleanor from Clearwater calls him with this offer question.

I heard you say the United States would take over the Middle East. Please explain. Well, obviously, if you read the books on prophecy, the Bible talks about the Antichrist will come out of an 11th nation birth by Europe, and that is the US of A, that the United States would actually take over Europe also militarily, and Daniel talks about it plucking up three countries by the roots, and I believe that But those are three countries where our military is established there in Europe.

We are their defense force. Should a president become a dictator of this country, he could very easily, as the Supreme Commander of our military, order a takeover of Europe. It would happen just boom, boom, boom, because we are firmly established there. They would have no chance. The rest of Europe would become ours. They would all bow down and say, well, we’ll do whatever you want. And then Europe and America together will take over all of what was ancient Assyria.

And you see numerous references to Assyria being taken over. Read Daniel 11 where it says the Antichrist will actually go into the Middle East. Many countries there will be overthrown. I believe there will be Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Israel included and Egypt. Daniel 11 tells us that. And then the Antichrist will put his palace in Jerusalem, and as the false Christ ruled the world from Jerusalem. And this man who is the head of the U.S. will be called the Assyrian by rite of conquest.

And in Micah, the prophet chapter 5, it talks about Jesus coming, head to toes or head to head with the Antichrist called the Assyrian, and he defeats him. And that’s the second coming in Christ, and then establish His Kingdom here on this Earth. Hope that helps a little bit. We We now have Marianne in Orange City and good to have you. Welcome to the program. Marianne, are you there? Yes. Okay, good. I have a question. Good. It’s from Hebrew 6, 4 to 6.

I do explain that. Hebrews 6, 4, there’s a talking here about believers who have experienced a great experience. have experienced a change of mind from works that cannot save them to trust in Christ, verse 1 talks about them moving forward toward maturity from the decision they made when they got saved which is called repentance from dead works. So they changed their mind about works realizing they are dead and cannot produce life but simply trust in Christ. Then it talks about moving forward in your Christian life and verse 4 says, once you are saved, it’s impossible to renew you again under that repentance that you had when you got saved in verse 1.

And it says, if you attempt to be saved again, you’ll be crucifying Christ all over again to yourself and putting Christ to an open shame. So if you fall away from serving the Lord or if you fall away from your confidence or your steadfastness, the key is not to go back and try to become saved again, but the key is to go back and start serving again. Notice verse 9, it says we’re talking about things here that accompany salvation.

Look at verse 10, it says, God is not unrighteous to forget your work and your labor of love. God is going to reward everything you’ve done for him. So the point is that Christ died once to pay for your sin, and he paid for your pescence, your presence ends and your future sins. Once you trust Him, if you fall away, you are not going to try to go back to hopefully and try to become saved again because that’s impossible.

That’s what it’s saying there. One lady a number of years ago told me that she had lost her salvation seven times. I said, where do you find this in the Bible? She went to Hebrew 6, 4, through 6. And when she told me that, I said, oh, I feel terrible. I feel badly for you. Oh, my heart goes out to you. She says, what do you mean? Because if this passage means you can lose your salvation and you’ve lost yours, then you can never be saved again.

And you’re going to go to hell. There’s nothing I can do about it, nothing you can do about it, nothing your church can do about it. Guess what? She says, well, I came close to losing it. She said I didn’t really lose it. She changed her mind when she realized that verse would condemn her. It’s saying there that if it means you can lose your salvation, you’ll never be able to get it back. You’re in a bad way. But it’s not saying that.

It’s saying, if you fall away from serving the Lord, it’s impossible to lose your salvation. But you can lose your reward, your blessings, your testimony, your effectiveness, and even your life. And so as a believer, if you get away from the Lord, you need to get back with Him and start serving again. And God is gonna reward you for that. So that’s what He was talking about. Okay, thank you. You’re very welcome. And if you go to my internet site, I’ve written an article about that called the title Hebrew 6, 4, 3, 6, and you can download that or just read it on the internet site, BibleLineMinistries.org.

And then in the bottom right hand corner of the home page, it’ll say, Dr. Lynch, there’s articles. Click there and look for the one under Hebrew 6, 4, 3, 6. All right, we have some more anonymous questions here. And we did the one by Eleanor a moment ago in Clearwater. And we find here Walter in Tampa, Forta calls in with his offer question. Please explain the parable of the talents in Matthew 2514 on. Well, there you have three different men.

Each of them are given money to invest. And the third one turns out to be unsaved. And he is called the unprofitable servant. and he has casted out our darkness. Again, as we said earlier with the other passage in Matthew, it’s talking about an unsafe person, because again, you always interpret a difficult verse in the light of a clear one. In John 637, Jesus said, “‘Him that cometh to me, I will in no wise cast out.'” That means in a no circumstance would Christ ever cast out a believer.

But then if you look in the text here, you study to rightly divide the word, you’ll find that the first two guys Verse 21 and verse 23, God calls them good and faithful. Well, there are two things going on here. First of all, no one is good of themselves. In Matthew 19, Christ told the rich young ruler, why did you call me good? There is none good, but one and that is God. So if you look over there in Matthew chapter 19, that’s a great quote.

Jesus is pointing out, no human being is good or righteous because we’ve all sinned and on top come short of the glory of God. But yet the Bible does call some people good or righteous and that’s because they receive a righteousness or a goodness that is imputed or credited to their account because of the substitution of death of Christ. Christ became sin for us so that we may become the righteousness of God and Him. Second Corinthians 521. What a great verse that is.

God made Christ. Second Corinthians 521. made Christ to be sinned for us, Christ who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God and Him. So this man was called good, verse 21. The second guy was called good, verse 23, because they were believers. And they were given the righteousness of God that God viewed them as righteous because of Christ death in their place. Then both of these are mentioned as being faithful, which has to do with the Christian life.

enter into heaven because they are good or righteous or because they are believers. But then we find that because they are faithful it says here that they would be rewarded. He says I will make you ruler over many things. That has to do with authority and your job description when you get to heaven that will be based upon your works or deeds here. So they will be rewarded for their faithfulness but they enter as it says here. Enter that to the joy of the Lord, that’s because they were believers.

But if you look at the last guy, verse 26, his Lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked. So he was wicked, and by the way, the wicked and the Bible are unbelievers. The righteous are believers, and the wicked are the unbelievers. So your neighbor might be a wonderful neighbor, keep their lawn nice and pay their taxes and take good care of their kids, but if they’re not believers, even if their church members, the Bible describes them as wicked, because all of us, without the righteousness of Christ or God, are wicked in God’s sight.

So he was unsaved, because all unsaved are wicked. And then in addition to that, he was thoughtful. I mean, he was lazy. So obviously there are degrees of punishment and hell for the unbelievers. He’s cast in the hunter darkness. There’s weeping and ashing of teeth. But also he’s assigned a degree of punishment because of his slothfulness. The two first guys were believers, but they were rewarded in heaven based upon their faithfulness. But they entered heaven because they simply trusted Christ as their Savior.

Hope that helps Walter. Thank you for calling in and I’ll offer a question from Tampa. We have here Carl in Tampa, Florida. There’s a teaching that Adam’s first wife was not Eve, but a person named Lithium. Is this a false teaching? Is this a Jewish myth? Well, I don’t know about what it’s a Jewish myth, but that’s certainly false. We find that Jesus in Matthew 19 says, did you never read that God created them at the beginning male and female?

He’s talking clearly about Adam and Eve. And wherever you look, that is confirmed throughout scripture that the first man, 1 Corinthians 1545 on the planet was Adam. And Eve was the woman made from his side. Every other woman who’s ever been on this earth came about from the natural relationship between a man and a woman. They’re conceived and born as a child is by the mother of the woman, but Eve was the only woman that didn’t have a mother.

And so there is no lithium that was created out of the atom only had so many ribs and God used one rib and made one woman and brought her under the man. So not true. Totally false. Thank you, Carl, for asking that question. We have Chris in New Samaritan Beach Florida. He says some preachers claim to have the Holy Spirit yet say salvation can be lost. How can you have the Holy Spirit but not have eternal security? Good question because Ephesians 1,13, and 14 tells us, Chris in New Samaritan Beach, that the Holy Spirit is the seal and indwals the believer until you’re safely in heaven and tell the redemption of the purchase possession.

Redefisions 1, 13, and 14. Obviously these preachers… We have done in Milwaukee, Wisconsin calls in, leaves this offer a question he wants me to take a look at Luke chapter 12 verse 48. So we’re turning there right now. And Luke chapter 12 verse 48 says, but he that knew not and did commit things worthy of stripes was beaten with fuse stripes. And here again is talking about God, I believe, chasting or dealing with a delinquent believer. You will be in a sense given a spanking as a believer.

God, if you have children or you’re the child of your parents, you’re their child whether you’re obedient or whether you’re not obedient. But what happens is the obedient child is the one that’s rewarded and blessed. The disobedient child suffers the losses of reward and also is sometimes spanked. And that’s what we’re reading about here. So it’s talking here about a person who is not obedient to God’s will and God might have to get their attention. But it’s not talking about hell.

The believer will never be cast into hell, John 637. Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. Thank you, Don, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, listening to Bibleline. We have Joe in Pimbroke, Pines, Florida. He says, I reject predarism. How do we interpret 2 Peter 3, 10? And it says the day of the Lord here with no mention of the tribulation or the thousand year millennium. Preterus used this in Revelation 21, 1 through 5 to prove their stand.

Well you know the day of the Lord begins with the tribulation period but it ends with the destruction of the earth. And so this is what it’s referring to here when the Lord will finally destroy the earth by fire, then in 2 Peter 3, 13, it talks about that we have a new heavens and a new earth that we’re looking forward to. If you read the context very carefully, or in 2 Peter, it begins with the creation and then it talks about the perdition of ungodly men and the ungodly men being cast into hell and that occurs at the end of the day of the war and that is when the earth is destroyed by fire.

So if you read very carefully it all matches up nice and neat and Joe and Timbork Pines, thank you for calling in, I hope that helps. We have Joyce in New York and she calls from New York and asks this offer a question, devotionals. Is there a definition of this and is there a scripture that says we should do this? Actually, this is man-made, but it’s a good idea to take a time where you spend some time alone with the Lord and We find that Jesus took time to get apart and just have some quiet time It’s a good practice, but there’s no verse.

It says thou shalt get up every day and have a devotional time but I think you can in your life and it will be very, very profitable for you. Sometimes we just close out the world, get your Bible open, and take some time to read and just talk to the Lord and spend some time with Him. Great idea. Certainly the principle is taught in the Bible, but there is no verse that says that you must do this every day.

But yet at the same time we’re told to get into God’s word every day. in Matthew 4, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. So that requires, like we, physical food, the spiritual food we need to be hidden to the Bible on a regular basis. Wow, we have so many wonderful questions here from people that are calling in. And let me just see, I think we have some that just came in this morning.

I want to catch one of these if we can get to that. This is, again, a question that just, I think, came in today. Gene. Okay. Thank you. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. He calls in from Tampa, Florida, and he says, why did the people of the Old Testament live so long? Did they have the same marking of time? Yes, they answered. Prior to the flood, apparently, it had never rained according to the Bible until the flood. In Genesis 2.5, it says, a mist went up to water the face of the whole earth.

And I did this one time. all these calculations of the length of life. And I noticed that once the flood happened, the length of life shortened down rather almost immediately. And perhaps the additional water vapor in the atmosphere shielded out deadly rays from space which probably allowed these people to live much longer lives. I hope that helps and we’ll call back if we didn’t get it for you. We’re at the end of the program. I hope you’ll go to Israel with me.

We’ll talk about Israel or we’ll send your brochure, just call and ask.
