Thanks for tuning in to the broadcast. We look forward to being with you every day, Monday to Friday, and here we are Monday. And this is a very special Monday because it’s the beginning of the crucifixion week.

And it was this week that Christ died as we celebrated 2,000 years ago. Sunday was Palm Sunday yesterday, and that was the day when Christ came down the slopes of the Mount of Olives, was acknowledged by the populace by the multitudes that he was the son of David, that’s the Messiah. And then of course he’s rejected by the leadership in the temple and they begin to pot his death. What an exciting week! And we certainly hope that you’re going to take full advantage of it.

We have a chart called the Crucifixion Chart and that’s something I developed over a period of years and it gives you what happened every day during that week, Monday through Friday, Monday through Sunday really, and you can follow the events by looking at the chart and looking at the scriptures and you can call and get that sent to you for free. Just call our 800 number, 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. We hope you’ll give us a call. This is Monday. We should be here all week long live from our studios here in Tampa, Florida, and we’re We’re coming to you from Calvary Community Church where I pastor where the Bibleline Studios are contained.

And we’d love to have you come by and visit with us. Our Resource Center is open every day, Monday through Friday from about 8 in the morning until about 4.30 in the afternoon. You’re welcome to drop in. If you can’t, guess what? On the internet you can visit our Resource Center on our webpage by the line ministries.org. Click on the online bookstore and you’ll be able to get it. By the way, we have people listening to our radio programs, watching our television programs, and also watching our worship services from all over the world.

Yesterday we had people from Indiana that came to visit us, that watched the worship services in Indiana. We had a family from South Carolina that watched us there that came by visitors. Well, somebody from South Florida came and visited us. They’re coming from all over and they’re watching the worship service on their computer. Some of them are putting it up on the big screen with their TV and it’s possible for you to do that too. You just have to ask somebody who can help you if you don’t know how to do that yourself.

We also had a family here. Their son got saved up in Cincinnati, Ohio and he watches our worship services and last Sunday because since that he was snowed in a lot of his friends called him and asked him where our website was so that we had a bunch of people watching from Cincinnati, the worship service. They couldn’t get out to their church so they watched it from their home. Just wanted you to know that you can do that too and you can check out our website Bible Iron Ministries.org or dot com.

This will be a great week. We have a service Wednesday night celebrating the fact of Christ’s crucifixion. We believe Christ was crucified on Wednesday, not Friday, and we’ll talk about why. And also we believe that Christ rose from the dead on Saturday at sundown when the Sabbath ends as it still does this hour. We just come back from Israel and Saturday at sundown the Sabbath is over. Israel comes back to life and actually at sundown Saturday it begins Sunday.

Sunday night comes first, then Sunday and you have to kind of give us some thought because the Jewish day is the night period first, the day period following and it runs from sundown to sundown. If you go to a synagogue on Friday night it’ll be full. Why? Because the Sabbath begins Friday at sundown. That’s really Saturday night and then following in the morning is Saturday. We’re going to be talking about the Bible for a little bit and we’ll be taking our live We invite you to give us a call here at Bible Linehead Coaters.

We hope you’re enjoying. By the way, we’re going to teach 2nd Peter. We’ll be teaching that soon. It’ll be 5 weeks, 2 hours per every Tuesday night. And we believe we’re going to do that on the 5 Tuesdays that will be there in April. So we’ll do that in April coming up right after we get done with Resurrection Sunday. I think we’ll have a week break and then we’ll start 2nd Peter. So if you’re in driving distance, you’ll be able to come and take that class here live in the classroom.

We just finished first Peter that’s available now on CD and DVD Plus all our worship services are available on CD or DVD Plus you can watch them on the internet for free if you’d like to do that And I hope you’ll take advantage of our website BibleLineMinistries.org You know the tradition of a Sunday morning resurrection is very much a part of modern Christianity Most everyone thinks of a Sunday morning resurrection. After all, the sunrise services seem to imply that this is when Jesus rose from the dead.

But Jesus said in Matthew 1240, as Jonah was three days and three nights in the Fishes Valley, social asunamand be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. Well, three days and three nights means 72 hours. Jesus defined the length of a day in John 11 verse 9. Our Lord said, are there not 12 hours in a day? Well, if there are 12 hours in the day period, then there are 12 hours in the night period and therefore three days and three nights would be 72 hours.

If Jesus was placed in the grave at sundown, as the Scriptures teach, take a look we find here in Luke 2354 and that day was the preparation and the Passover Sabbath drew on and it tells us that they then buried him just as the day was ending and the new day the Passover began. So then his resurrection had to be 72 hours later also at sundown. If you accept a Sunday morning resurrection, then Christ stayed in the grave for three days and four nights, not three days and three nights, as he said in Matthew 1240.

Have you ever wondered how Jesus Christ could be crucified on Friday, be resurrected on Sunday, and be buried for three days and three nights? Well, that’s impossible. You can’t possibly squeeze three days and three nights between Friday and Sunday. I know stretch of imagination is it possible to stretch the period from Friday evening to Sunday morning into three days and three nights. That’s why we believe that Jesus Christ died on Wednesday. We do not believe that Christ died on Friday, and if you turn to Matthew 1240, and notice Jesus Christ himself prophesied concerning his death, his burial, his resurrection, and said he would be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

That’s 72 hours. He clearly defines it as that. If there are 12 hours in a day and 12 hours in a night, it’s 72 hours and anything less than 72 hours would not fulfill the prophecy of Jonah or the words of Jesus Christ. Jonah was a type of Christ and fulfilled literally what would happen with Jesus when Christ would die. Jonah, by the way, died in the Fish’s belly. His soul went down into the heart of the earth. Read Jonah chapter 2.

He said the earth with his bars was about him forever. He was in the heart of the earth. He went into shield. There is no way you can get into shield, the place of the departed dead, without dying. And he prayed out of shield. And God raised up his body that had begun the corrupted process, it says he raised him up from corruption, and Jonah therefore was raised from the dead, just like Christ would be raised from the dead after the same length of period, three days and three nights.

Well, perhaps you’re wondering why the vast majority of Christians accept the fight of the Sunday burial of Christ, if it’s wrong. And the only answer that can be given is tradition. The Bible says in Colossians 2 8, be where lest any men spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. Colossians 2 8, this is a tradition that is not taught in the Bible that Christ is crucified on Friday.

Also there is no Ash Wednesday in your Bible, there is no Lent in your Bible, there might the lint ally and keep it no lint in anybody’s bible even the word eastern is taken and is not found in the bible well there is one reference in acts twelve four but it’s a mistranslation The word Easter comes from the word Ishtar is the same as Astaroth in the Old Testament. And Easter is therefore the name of the mother of Baal.

And certainly we would not want to celebrate a sex goddess, the mother of Baal. But I celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ again from the dead. That’s why I recommend everybody get rid of the E word Easter and start using the R word, resurrection. It’s so much more powerful and really gives a message when we use it. I had somebody at the cash register saying, happy Easter. And I said in reply, happy resurrection. I noticed the person’s body kind of was riveted for a second.

That the power of the word resurrection obviously stated where I stood. That Jesus had come back from the dead. And that’s what I was celebrating. The word Easter has no power. It’s obviously the name of the mother of Baal. And I believe we ought to just eliminate that word. And if you haven’t done it yet, start doing that. You know, this coming Sunday we’ll call that Resurrection Sunday. If we give out candy to the children which I believe we will, we’ll call it Resurrection Candy.

The music, special music, we’ll call it Resurrection music. If the ladies wear special dresses we’ll call it Resurrection dresses. It’s a very easy transition and it makes it awful lot of sense. I hope I can persuade a lot of people to let’s get rid of the E word and start using the R word and let’s talk about what really this celebration is all about. It’s about Jesus. It’s about the resurrection from the dead. Well in any case some people in order to explain the Good Friday tradition they say that Christ was buried during parts of three days and three nights.

It is Christ’s period for part of Friday, part of Saturday, and part of Sunday. Well, guess what? That isn’t even true if you look at the Scriptures carefully, but let’s go ahead and talk about that. Sometimes people ask, didn’t the Jews count part of a day as a whole day or part of the night as a whole night? Well, whenever you have the expression, they and I mentioned together in the Hebrew Scriptures, it always means a full day and a full night.

For example, in Genesis chapter 1, it says there, and the evening and the morning were the first day. So it’s clear, when those two are put together day and night or night and day or the evening and the morning, it constitutes a full day. And it goes on to say in the evening and morning or the second day, in the evening and morning or the third day, evening and morning or the fourth day and so on. So it constitutes a full day, not part of a day.

There are other examples throughout the Bible and Esther and 2 Samuel and obviously in Jonah, Jonah was in the fishes belly, 3 days and 3 nights. You know when the Bible talks about 40 days and 40 nights? What does that mean? It did not rain in the days of 40 days and 40 nights. It was just parts of 40 days and 40 nights, maybe it only rained for 24 hours. Well obviously that’s not true. In Christ’s fastened in the wilderness, forty days and forty nights.

Does forty days and forty nights mean forty days and forty nights? I believe it does. When Genesis says it rained in the days of Noah, forty days and forty nights, I believe it means forty days and forty nights. And if Christ said he would be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights, I think it means three days and three nights. Well guess what? Part of the confusion comes from verses like John 19, 31. It says the Jews, therefore, because it was the preparation that the body should not remain upon the cross on the Sabbath day.

For that Sabbath day was in high day, besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, that they might be taken away. Now the Sabbath in John, 1831 is not the regular Saturday Sabbath. Here’s where the error came in. They said he was crucified on the preparation of the Sabbath. And most people in their minds think Sabbath Saturday Saturday Saturday. And so the day before the preparation would have been Friday. But that is not a careful reading of the scripture because it tells us that that Sabbath was a high holy day of Israel.

The Passover was Thursday of the crucifixion week and was a high holy day. And Christ was crucified on the preparation of the Sabbath Passover which was Thursday which the preparation day was Wednesday, we believe Christ was crucified on Wednesday. So we also know the Bible tells us what time of day the Christ was crucified. You know the Bible tells us in John’s Gospel chapter 18 and 19 that Christ was nailed to the cross. At nine o’clock in the morning, that at three o’clock in the morning, he gave up his life and died to pay for our sins.

And then they had three hours between three o’clock and six p.m. or sundown to get his body into the grave. And if he goes in the grave at sundown, he has to rise at sundown. and we believe 72 hours later, Saturday at sundown, as the Sabbath ends, as the first day of the week begins with the night period first, Jesus rises from the dead. So guess what? We’re going to have a sundown service this week, this Saturday. You’re welcome to come if you’re driving distance at sundown, and we’re going to celebrate the resurrection of Christ at the time when we believe He rose.

Christ did not rise on Sunday morning. Although we’re going to celebrate the discovery of the empty tomb and the appearances of Christ after he rose from the dead. But when they came Sunday morning Christ was already risen by 12 hours. Well I just point these things out to make us all more careful Bible students. I find so many people don’t get salvation right. You can believe you are crucified on Friday or Wednesday or whatever day you want and it won’t affect your salvation.

But if you don’t get salvation right, the fact that eternal life is a gift, it cannot be earned. I was just reading a pamphlet this morning where some particular church is espousing more than faith in Christ to be saved. And they scare you. That’s the tactic. It seems that was used in the pamphlet I read that boy, if you didn’t do this and you didn’t do that, you weren’t saved and that you needed to go back and go through all these processes, including water baptism in order to be saved.

That’s not true. We’re saved, just like the dying thief was saved, by simply trusting Jesus as the one who died to pay for our sins was buried and rose again from the dead. Our salvation was purchased by Christ’s death at the cross and you shed blood. And when you trusted him, died for you. Shed his blood and paid your sin debt and forth was buried and rose again from the dead God saved you. We’re going to go to the phone lines.

We’ve got people waiting online. We’re going to go to Orange City, Florida and talk to Martin. Martin, welcome to my mind. You’re on the air. Yeah. God bless you, Dr. Hank. Thank you. Okay. I have a good question. I have a friend that, a neighbor that has visited me. I’ve been serving them over 10 years. And he said seven day Adventists. Actually, I am recording this because I want him to hear this. And we were here last night. We talked for hours.

And he’s made points. His main point was that when he began to speak to me, I noticed that I know what they believe. He mentioned Helen White, if you can help me with that, because I heard about Helen White. I also asked him about what happens when people die, and he told me that they don’t believe spirit they just believe that the body and the body and so are one thing and I know that they came from the from the Jiharo speak he he he became with the Genesis and then he began with the days the first day second day got to finish I told him I know what you I know I know what you’re taking me you’re gonna take me to the seventh to the Sabbath and he we are you for our honey we didn’t argue we just came is related He was related to the

Sabbath. He denied me. He got a little upset with me. Little hyper, don’t get like that. I just decided my faith. I am not safe. I am safe like grace. I am not safe for feeling the Sabbath. Even though he told me that he was not trying to say that, That’s exactly what he’s trying to say. say, you don’t have to convert me because I am a Christian and I believe in Jesus Christ I trust him as my savior.

Can you help me out a little bit with who he was and why he He says that the soul… The people of Jesus Christ said that you will be with me in paradise when he meant was that Jesus didn’t go to heaven, so he didn’t go to paradise. He went to ask a question. Thank you. Thank you, Martin, for calling you. That’s great. The Seventh-day Adventist believe in soul sleep, which is certainly not taught in the Bible. In Luke 16, beginning in verse 19, it talks about two minutes die.

They’re obviously very conscious after death, and their soul is sleeping. The rich man who was lost is in flame and torment and the other, the beggar that died named Lazarus was in comfort. They had a conversation and there was memory. Notice Abraham there tells the rich man, don’t you remember how you had it good before you died and now you’re in torment but Lazarus the beggar had it bad and now he has it good. He’s in the place of comfort.

Ellen G. White obviously is the one that all the seven-day admitted read her writings and therefore read the Bible and interpret the Bible through the lenses of her writings. That’s why they’ll never come clean. They have some of the same doctrines as the Joseph’s Witnesses. You’re right. They came and were split off of that movement and they don’t believe in help. They don’t believe really in salvation by faith. They believe, and here’s the craziness of it all. They set a date for the return of Christ.

I think it was 1844. They all waited for Christ to return, and they obviously waited and waited, and he didn’t come. Instead of admitting they had made a big error there, they said that no, they had the date right, but the event wrong. They invented now a brand new doctrine called the investigative judgment where supposedly Christ is investigating our works to determine whether we’re worthy of receiving grace. Well, that’s a backdoor approach to adding works to salvation. But the Sabbath, obviously, they believe is the mark of the living God, that if anybody worships on Sunday, that’s the mark of the Antichrist or the beast.

And so everybody who worshiped on Sunday is lost and only those who worship on Saturday are saved. But let me just read to you Colossians chapter 2. Jesus, when he died, it says he are blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross. And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it. but no man therefore judge you in meat or in drink or in respect of a holy day or of the new moon or of the Sabbath.

Which are shadow of things to come, but the body is of Christ. You know, God had a wonderful picture of what would happen in the future with the seven days of the Creative Week. And actually the seventh day pictured a thousand year day when Christ will rule on the earth and the whole earth will be at peace and at rest. The sixth, earlier days represent 6,000 years of human history. Look at the clock. We believe Adam was here 4,000 years ago.

So there were 4,000 years between Adam and Christ. That’s four days. Then since Christ till now, there have been two more days. We’re at the end of the sixth day, the seventh day is about to take place. And if you read the major minor prophets, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and all through the minor prophets, it talks about the day of the Lord. The day of the Lord is a thousand year day. In Revelation chapter 20, it mentions six times in that one chapter, the fact that it’s a thousand years long.

Let me just say hi to Miami, Florida, and all the people down in the south forward are listening on WM CU 1080 on the dial. I know you signed off earlier than the other stations, so we want to say that we are certainly aware that you’re listening, and God bless you. If you can help Bible and pray for us, you could call us and give us a gift to keep us on the air and help us expand to that full hour down there that we’d like to have.

Well, we’re back now to Martin, and this is a question of whether these people are saved or lost. And if you’re trusting in your works, which the seven-day dentist do. Then you’ll not be safe. There is no seven-day dentist that I’ve found that could say to you that their sins are all bonded out and that they’re assured of going to heaven right now. Because they’re selfish based upon works. They always have to put you off and say, I hope so.

I think so. I’d like to. I’m working at it. I’m doing my best. But they can never be assured that they’re going to go to heaven because they’re really trusting in their works. So the question to ask is, can you know right now whether you’re saved or not? Can you know right now for sure that you’re going to have it when you die? And they will say no. The true believer ought to be able to say, I know I’m saved.

I know I’m going to heaven. I know I’m a child of God. I know I’ve been born again. How do we know? Because the Word of God tells us so. You know, and you find the word no, K-N-O-W again and again and again and again through the Bible. First John 5, 13 says these things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God that you may know, K-N-O-W, that you have, present tense verb, eternal life.

You can know that you have eternal life. If you have eternal life right now, it will be eternal life tomorrow, next year, 10 years from now, 100 years from now, and so on. Thank you, Martin, for that call. We appreciate it. We need to pray for all those seven Adventists out there, all those Jones Witnesses out there, and all the others that are involved in false teaching, because tragically, they’re not going to make heaven as long as they’re trusting in works to ultimately get them there.

We’re going to come up on our break time here and take a break and come back into a second half hour. I hope you have your radio set and don’t move it. Don’t change that now because we’ll be back for a second half hour. Pray for us here at Bibleline and pray that we might have a great week as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus again from the dead this week and this week in this fashion. We’ll be right back after this short break.

Keep your radio tuned right where it is and we’ll be back in just a moment. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Hi, I’m Dr. England Sermann. It’s great to be with you. We certainly enjoy being with you each and every day. We had a wonderful time over the past couple of weeks going to Israel. We have lots of people talking to us about going again. If you’d like to get on that list, please call our 800-number-1-800-5763-771 and let us know if you’re interested.

It doesn’t mean you’re signing up today because we’re not even ready to sign anybody up. But we would like to know if you’re interested and we’ll get you on a list and we’ll like your input. We have people telling us they would like to maybe go to another country, so we’re talking about Greece. about Petra and Jordan. We’re talking about Egypt, but we can’t do them all, so we need to get your input. When’s the best time for you to go?

We’re ready to go. And it’ll be a lot of fun. We had a marmos trip, good hotels, good meals. We felt absolutely safe. We never even heard a car backfire. It was a wonderful time. And we got to baptize people in the Jordan. We got to float around in the Dead Sea. We got to visit the Tomb of Christ. We have to visit the Hill of Calvary. It was a spectacular time. Let us know. We’d love to have you go on our next trip to Israel.

By the way, also I hope you’ll get a resource sheet from us and also look at our online bookstore. We have done a lot of series where I’ve taught the Bible, verse by verse. We just finished verse Peter. We’re about to do second Peter. We also have done the Gospel of John. That was a wonderful, wonderful study. We have about, practically 20 hours of teaching on the Gospel of John that are available and we broke into two halves so you can get it part one, part two, about 10 hours of teaching each in the series.

And 20 hours total, verse by verse, on the Gospel of John. We also did the Book of Jude, the Book of Romans. We’ve done the Book of Hebrews which is considered a difficult book. And a lot of, if you go out there searching for commentary on Hebrews, they’re scarce. Most writers don’t even dare tackle the book, but we tackle the whole hard questions, all hard problems, and dealt with them. And I think Hebrews will come alive to you if you don’t have that set.

We also have some wonderful commentaries here that Jameson Possett Brown is my favorite for gift of $100. We have that three volume set that gives you something on every verse in the Bible. powerful, powerful stuff. Any case, I hope you’ll call us and get a resource sheet or go online, look at our online bookstore and take advantage of all the things that we have available for you. We’re going to join the stations that have been on break into the second half hour of Bibleline.

So keep your radio tuned right where it is and here we go. We’re getting ready now to join those other stations that will do the second half hour of Bibleline right now. Would you like to call by the line and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back for now, breaking. This is the pipeline. It’s so good to be with you.

We have had a… We’re on in North Adams, Massachusetts. We just talked to the radio manager there a few minutes ago. They are really enjoying Bibleline up there in Massachusetts. We’re on in New York, Michigan, we’re on Virginia. We’re on Pennsylvania. We’re on the Virginia by mine studios here in Tampa, Florida at the Calvary Community Church. If you’re ever going to chance to come by and visit with us, we would love to have you. We’re on in North Adams, Massachusetts, and we just talked to the radio manager there a few minutes ago.

They are really enjoying Bibleline up there in Massachusetts. We’re on New York. We’re on Michigan. We’re on Virginia. We’re on Pennsylvania. on in Tennessee, we’re on in Miami and Jackson, go to the land floor, the Sarasota, Florida, all over the Tampa Bay area. And on the internet, worldwide, it’s amazing how many places are tuning into Bible. And I got a wonderful letter here. I can find it in my stack, but we got a letter from a pastor in Central Africa, and he is listening to Bible and loves it.

He has said that he has a burden for people that speak the French language there in Central Africa and those that of course speak it in other countries including France and in Quebec and Canada and so on. He says that he would like to take his department of translation interpretation to which he says the very best certified Christian translators and he wants to translate all of our publications and books from English to French from our website, Bimalar Industries, to make them available in French as well.

Isn’t that exciting? So we have people really all over the world that are writing us, our contacting us, that are listening to the Bibleline. We get letters from many different countries in Africa, and this is a real sweet letter here, and we hope to respond to him. We have people in Japan. We just had a missionary here speak in our pulpit yesterday that is leaving now for a three-year commitment to Tokyo and said that in his training, he was taught, It took three to five years to build a relationship with someone before you can lead him to Christ.

And listening to the Bibleline and listening to the scriptures taught by us, he didn’t believe that. And went ahead and witnessed it. He said he led some Japanese people to Christ on the first encounter. Isn’t that amazing? And he’s got 22 other missionaries that are abandoning their former training, which is wrong. and just taking the powerful Word of God to people there in Japan and leading the Christ. Isn’t that great? And so praise the Lord for the Bibleline reaching out and winning people to Christ.

We had another fellow visit us in our worship service yesterday. Got saved through Bibleline now as in Christian ministry said he’s led over a hundred people to Christ in his past month. Wow, an on fire soul winner who got saved and now is carrying that message out with uh… a vengeance apparently uh… to be leading so many people to Christ that’s exciting and in case we’re so glad to be able to be with you here at bible and and we hope you’ll continue to listen and by the way if you could help us it would be great because it costs money beyond the air we have to talk about money we don’t pay any salaries here by blinds so we’re not talking about trying to get a personal gain, but we are talking about getting the message out.

And there’s only one way to do that. If we get on these stations, they all toss a great deal of money. And the only way we can pay for that is with a partnership with our listeners who say, hey, I think this program needs to continue. And I’d like to have it continue for my benefit, wherever you might be listening from. And we have one lady, for example, that is so faithful. She said, I think about a year and a half ago, I’m going to give one dollar a day to Bibleline.

And you know, every month you present that check. However many days there are in the month. And if everybody did that, that listens to Bibleline, we’d be able to be worldwide. No doubt about it. And we thank God for every one of you who pray for us and all of those of you that give, and your gifts are appreciated. And God bless you. We aren’t a big Christian ministry. We really have a handful of volunteers that make my blind big voice in our world and we’re reaching people and challenging people.

I feel like something like Gideon’s army of 300. I feel somewhat like… The twelve disciples who turned the world upside down. You don’t need to have a large number, but we do need to work together and partner together to be able to pull this off. And if you could call today and give a gift to Bibleline, it would be so appreciated. God bless you in advance. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you because you’re the ones who allow us to reach even further.

When I was a national this week, this past week, a door opened up to be in the middle of the day. on television in Turkey. They’re going to take the programs I’ve already done and translate them into the Turkey language and broadcast them over satellite over the whole country of Turkey. Of course, it will spill in the other countries around Turkey, so it will reach more than the Turkish people. But wow, and they say that Turkey has, as far as countries of the world is way up there as far as the number of television sets per capita, more than almost any other country.

So they’re watching television and they’ll be able to catch Bible and the true gospel from this program or the programs that we produce. Well, we’re going to go back to the photo lines. We have people waiting. We’re going to talk to David now. David is in Dunedin, Florida and David, welcome to Bibleline it’s great to have you on the air. Thank you. David, go ahead. Good morning. Good morning. Your Dr. Hank, in a recent Bible study, there was a difference of opinion over some verses and what would appreciate your take on Romans 13, 1 through 7.

The difference of opinion had to do with, did we violate by the American Revolution those verses? I think that obviously back in those days the people that came here to America came here primarily for religious freedom and they came to be able to tell people about Jesus Christ. You know, if the constitutions of the original thirteen colonies, all of them had a mission statement in there that they wanted to be able to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and without having anyone stopping them.

And that’s really why they came here. Of course, the British wanted to control them. But I think of a verse, for example, like in the book of Acts where we have Peter and the apostles being told that they could not preach Jesus Christ. And Peter stands up and says we ought to obey God rather than men. And I think that’s the whole point. And these early forefathers of our country did exactly that. They wanted to have the freedom to be able to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Now it’s gotten so reversed that if you talk about Christ or the Bible, you get in trouble. But obviously I think God really blessed this country because of our stand at the beginning as the first textbook in our country was the Bible. And the purpose of our early colonies was to evangelize and preach the gospel. And we had such a wonderful foundation that made this country really great. And obviously we have a great heritage. But it seems today that we’re becoming anti-God, anti-Christ, and just doing that terribly.

But obviously we are obligated to all of the laws of our country, but there are certain laws that we don’t honor. You know when Christ was presented with that difficult question about should he pay taxes to the Roman government, he took the coin and he said, whose image is on this coin? It was obviously Caesar’s picture on there, and he says, Rendering the Caesar, the things that are Caesar, send Rendering to God, the things that are God. So we do separate out and say, hey, we owe an allegiance to God above Caesar, and that we need to stand tall for the truths of God’s word, even if the government violates it.

So when the government violates our rights, as people made by God, created by God equally, no matter what race would come from, that we should be able to worship Him, which is what our founders seem to understand quite clearly from the Bible. And we had those rights given to us by our forefathers that we were to be able to worship Him in freedom. That’s disappearing today. And I think we didn’t violate it because I think we were standing up for the truths of God’s Word.

Thank you so much. We now have Liz in Prince George, Virginia. Liz, welcome to Byline. You’re on here. Thank you for taking my call. My question is, is there a scripture in the New Testament to support the death penalty? Well, let’s see here. I’m trying to think. I know the Old Testament certainly teaches that that’s never been rescinded, but I certainly believe in the death penalty. We have, I think, gotten our, where we don’t give a punishment equal to the crime anymore.

You know, when Christ was talking in the Sermon on the Mount, and I for an eye on a tooth for tooth, is really talking about the Old Testament law, that if you were to give a punishment suitable for the crime that was committed, that was really what that phrase was really talking about. If somebody knocked your tooth out, then you’d have their tooth out and so on. But basically today people commit a small crime and they seem to get away with murder.

And then others commit serious crimes, and they don’t get a punishment that’s more severe, that’s more in line with the type of crime that they committed. So we just have a confused system, and people don’t really get the message that obviously crime doesn’t pay because many believe in crime best pay in our society today because they’re able to get in out of jail as quick as they’re arrested. I had a police officer tell me they’re right back out on the street in a few hours.

So I think that that is I’ll have to think about a specific verse but I truly believe that God never rescinded that. It was definitely taught in the Old Testament law and even before that in Genesis chapter 9 it talks about if a man took a man out of a man’s life by man should his life be taken. So it talked about capital punishment throughout the Old Testament. Okay. Liz, I’ll have to keep looking and find a specific reference if I can.

Okay. Thank you. Thank you. Now, we have Curtis in Jacksonville, Florida, and Curtis. Welcome to Bibleline, and you’re on the air. Thank you, Dr. Hank. I’m Christian, and I don’t understand how when no family should have been the only family after the flood, how come we have so many different races on earth? Well, there’s a lot of different suggested answers. Obviously at the Tower of Babel in Genesis chapter 11, God came down and confounded the languages and the people were scattered on three different continents, Africa, Europe, and Asia.

And perhaps at the same time he changed the skin color. The Bible doesn’t say we don’t really know, but if you just go to your encyclopedia and look for that answer, they basically say that based upon their environment, the people in more northern latitudes usually have a lot of conflicted skin, and those that are more in the equatorial regions have a darker color skin, and that’s pretty much the answer scientists will give you. But I don’t really know the answer and I don’t think the Bible clearly spells it out, but But perhaps, and I think I lean toward maybe God changed his skin colors at the time of the Tower of Babel.

But we don’t really have a clear statement in the Bible that tells us. Well, I got to believe in a man that says he don’t know. And I think it’s, and that’s the most logical answer that I’ve heard yet. Well dynamite. Thank you, Kirsten. Thank you, David. Yeah, sometimes we don’t have an answer given in the Bible and we just have to say, the Bible doesn’t say and we just have to kind of guess at it. Well we get to heaven and find out whether we guess correctly or not, but the Bible doesn’t give us a definitive statement on that.

We have Jerry in Plant City, Florida, calling in and Jerry, welcome to Bibleline you’re on there. Yes, sir. In the book of Thessalonians, when the fellow speaks about the rapture, exactly how was that given to him and revealed to him, which I know it’s all from God and all What about that? Like John in the book of Revelations, all that was revealed to him and shown to him with the laughter being such a pivotal point in Christianity. How was that truly given to Paul to be able to write that and share that with the world?

It’s by inspiration. The Lord gave and I’d recommend in the very same book, Jerry, you take a look at chapter 2 of 1 Thessalonians and You’ll find in verse 13 Paul says this to the people at Thessalonica. For this cause also we thank God without ceasing because when you receive the Word of God which you heard of us you received it not as the Word of men but as it is in truth the Word of God which affects the work of also in you that believe.

So your Paul is challenged that what he spoke was God’s Word that God had given to him and that they could trust that. Peter tells us that in 2 Peter chapter 3 that Paul’s writings were scripture and that they were on the same level as the Old Testament Scriptures given to us by the prophets. It will give you one more verse and that’s 2 Peter chapter 3 and I love this. Peter tells us this wonderful truth where he says in verse 2 of 2 Peter 3 that we are to be mindful of the words, W-O-R-D-S, which is spoken before by the Holy Prophets, that’s the Old Testament, and of the commandment of us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior, and that includes Paul.

So it’s on the same level. That’s the New Testament, by the way, and the Old Testament, all one verse, and Peter says, we’re to be mindful of all of it. So you’re to read your Old Testament, you’re to read your New Testament, and to be mindful of those words and take them seriously because they are given by inspiration of God. And Peter tells us earlier in chapter 1 here that the Word of God did not come about by somebody just sitting down and saying, hey, I think I’m going to write scripture.

In chapter 1 in the 2nd Peter verse 21, it says, the scriptures came not an old time by the will of man but holy men i mean save men of god spake as they were moved that were moved in skydin directed by superintendent by the whole experience of the whole experience the author of the bible and he spoke through the different apostles got lots of colors out here we’re going to go to our next caller and that is gerry in plant city gerry welcome oops i think we just had gerry we’re gonna go to martin in orin city martin i welcome the bible on your own here Dr.

Hank, I thought before and I don’t want to take your time. It’s just that I forgot to ask you for my friend, the Adventist. When someone dies, since we are composed or made of body, spirit and soul, and what happens when someone dies? I mean, what happened to Jesus when Jesus did die? I mean, he went to the tomb and in that time, what really happened? with that guy that died, the thief, that what he… What did he thought to?

Alright, let me talk about that. Jesus said in Matthew 1240 he would be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. He told the dying thief over in Luke 23, 43, today they’ll also be with the entire life. So we know the entire life was in the heart of the earth. The place is called Shio, S-H-E-O-L in the Hebrew. It’s called Hades, H-A-D-E-S in the Greek. this hollow place in the heart of the earth. In Luke 16, beginning in verse 19, it reveals to us there, as Christ pulls back the curtain on the unseen world, that there were two places in the heart of the earth, a place of torment where the lost would go, and a place of comfort where the saved would go, and all the dead went to the heart of the earth.

The lost are still there and still continue to go there, and after the thousand year end of Christ will be delivered up according to Revelation 20 to be finally cast into hell after Satan is first in. The Bible tells us in 1925-41 that hell was created for Satan and his angels. So they get to be first. Then all of those of mankind that reject Christ will be brought up out of the holding tank where they’re, it’s not a purgatory, they’ll never get out of going to hell, but they’re held there waiting until Satan gets to be first in the held in their cast and to help.

But the believers of the Old Testament, because their sins were not yet paid for, the cross had not occurred, had to wait in the heart of the earth in a place called Paradise. But when Jesus rose, if you read Ephesians 4, it’s quite remarkable. It tells us in Ephesians 4, 8 through 10 that Christ descended into the lower parts of the earth. And when he ascended, he led captivity captive and took these people up to heaven. And so Paradise is now in heaven according to 2 Corinthians 12 1 through 3.

So Paradise has been removed from the heart of the earth. Now this side of the cross 2 Corinthians 5, 8, we’re absent from the body, present with the ward. And so when we die today, our body goes to the grave. And our soul and our spirit go to be with the Lord in heaven. And at the time of Christ we turn at the rapture, we get our new bodies. And I hope that tenor sums it up for you. Thank you, Martin.

And now we’re going to go to Dave in St. Petersburg. Dave, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hi, Dave. Yeah, I think I might have found a death penalty thing here in the New Testament. Okay, where is it? Okay, Luke 17 basically one three one and two it’s Then see said he into the disciples it is impossible, but that offenses will come but well unto him Through whom they come it were better for him than a millstone were hanged around about his neck and he passed into the sea And that he would should send one of these little one sounds like death telling the man.

Oh, yeah, it’s a pretty good stab at it. Yeah. Well thanks for doing that homework there. That’s very good and maybe that color is still listening and we’ll pick up on that. But yeah obviously there are offenses that are worthy of death and certainly you picked up on one of those and to offend a little child like that was worthy of death and we were just in Israel and we saw those millstones and they weigh a lot of them they weigh a lot.

I’d hate to have one tied around my neck and be cast into the you’re definitely going to be anchored to the bottom. Thank you Dave. Alright that was Dave coming up with an answer for us. That’s great. We have Angel in Tampa, Florida. Angel welcome to Bibleline. He said, have you ever heard of one of the listeners that say where did this game change? A long time ago, I came from the County Hall, where I told me go to Gen X-9 and Tim.

And he said that’s where the slave came from, black people. Because Noah apparently got drunk over there. The Bible was a sense of no, Noah got drunk and his son, Tim, or him. So he’s a naked-ness. I started to sign yesterday and I came and cover him and when he woke up and found out what was happening, he personally said, be your defendant, be a slave to your two brothers defendant. So, I know Israelites were a slave to the Babylonians and something like that, but apparently Sam, people went to the east.

And you figure we black people gone from Africa and Ham apparently went to Gaza south. That’s probably us with a confirm, but you know what I go around my password I said you’re my cousin I go around these campus here He said you’re my cousin before we all come from no one and his wife no nothing said of his wife But these three sons and if we are planted a con from gaffes seven cam You are me past the weird questions, you know, I know of it that the Bible say big battle Abraham I second Jacob will what where do favor and come from no one?

I know that my fellow friends, that’s a five-way. If you go on chapter nine and play in our genesis, he cares some. Okay well that’s a good point but you know it doesn’t say any about skin color there. Let’s say that the sense of him went south and and Jacob went into Europe and so on. The Bible does show that those three sons really became the fathers of the people of the three different continents, Africa, Europe and Asia. But it doesn’t tell us about the scheme of color.

So it’s still a big guess and thank you for that contribution, Angel. I appreciate that. Well, I’m excited. I don’t know about you, but this is a special week. Wednesday, we believe is when Christ was crucified at 9 in the morning, died at 3 We’re going to celebrate that Wednesday night here at our church, the crucifixion on the day that we believe it occurred. All this week we’ll be thinking about Jesus being crucified, buried, rising again from the dead, setting himself apart from all other religions and belief systems out there.
