As we webcast the morning worship service on Sunday, you can catch it live where you You can go during the week and any time of day or night and catch a year’s worth of sermons. That’s right, they’re all sitting there in archive. We are going to be teaching beginning April 1st, the book of 2 Peter.
What a grand book that one is. One I know that Satan hates and we’re going to be covering 10 hours of teaching on 5 Tuesday nights from 7 till 9. And if you’re in driving distance, they have you come and sign up and be a part of the class. And if not, you can order the CDs or DVDs of the class when you get all done. We already have first Peter done and ready. If you want to order first Peter, that’s 10 hours of teaching, you can get that on CD or DVD.
And beginning April 1st, it’s a Tuesday. There’ll be five Tuesdays in a row in April and we’ll get second Peter done and that’ll be available for you to get. We just finished prior to that the Gospel of John. That was about 20 hours of teaching. We did 18 class hours but each class was an hour and five minutes long. So when you had it all up it turned out to be over 20 hours of teaching and you can get that in two parts.
Part one and part two we broke it up because it was lengthy but it was well worth to take the time and go verse by verse in the Gospel of John. I hope you’ll take advantage of some of these things you can call and order them over the phone and I know that there will be a great blessing to you as you drive to and fro from work, throw that CD in and listen and be learning from God’s Word.
As you are at home, maybe at your desk with the Bible, you can, what the nice thing is about these is you can stop me, pause me, back me, fast forward me and the same thing is true with the internet. Even on the Sunday morning sermon you can go forward or backward or pause and take your Bible and take the time to look up the passage and pay attention to what we’re saying. Well, we had a wonderful Resurrection Sunday.
I hope you did. And we had people get saved and it was just the glorious time. Our children performed on Saturday night. They did a great job. And we just had a great weekend. I hope you had a wonderful Crucifixion Week with the climax of Christ’s Resurrection being celebrated yesterday. And we hope that it was a blessed week for you as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ again from the dead. We just got back from Israel just a couple of weeks ago.
We’re planning to go again. We would love to have you get on that list if you are interested and maybe give us your input as we would like to hear when would be the best time for you to go. Also would you like to go to another country? We are thinking about adding another country. Maybe Egypt. Jordan, southern Jordan, where the Jews will flee from the Antichrist, or maybe Greece. We’re just right now toying with all that. We’ll soon be making up our minds, so we need you to let us know when you call and leave your name and your information and give us some I have been 15 times and this next trip will be number 16 and I will tell you that we just got back and it was safe, it was wonderful, the food was good, the hotels were good, the weather was good, just everything was good.
We had a marvelous time. I hope you will plan to go with me on our next trip. you are the heroes that keep us on the ball or keep us on the air and it’s really greatly appreciated. Thank God for all of you. Pray for and give the Bible and thank you so very much. We really get into the Bible. If you have your Bible there you might want to open it up and we’ll turn to John’s gospel chapter 19 and we find amazingly there were many prophecies fulfilled by Christ’s One of the things that’s interesting is verse 30 of John 19 where it says, Jesus, therefore when he had received the vinegar, he said it is finished.
Those three words are very powerful and in the Greek, in test it was written in the Greek language, it is one word to tell us die. It’s an accounting term. It means paid in full, full satisfaction received for the debt. And so when Jesus died on the cross, he fully, incompletely, satisfied God’s justice and paid our sin debt in full by his death on the cross. Isn’t that great to know? Because there are those who teach that Christ died for sins during the three days after he died.
There are some that speculate that Christ went to hell. Well, that’s craziness. Nobody’s in hell right now. Not even Satan. Satan, as angels, have been judged and will be thrown into hell. Satan and his angels are the ones for whom hell was created. But they’re the first ones in, and that won’t happen until after Christ has come back at his second coming seven years after the Rapture and has ruled and made on the search for a thousand years. At the end of those thousand years it tells us in Revelation 20 verse 10 in the Bill that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire.
It says he will be tormented day and night, forever and ever and ever. Wow! So that’s coming up and then all the lost of mankind will be cast into hell after they have been brought forth and given a degree of punishment and hell based upon their works. Their lost are going to hell because they did not trust Christ, but they will be judged according to their works to discern the degree of punishment that they will receive in hell. So right now hell is empty.
There’s nobody in hell. Christ didn’t go to hell. The apostles created his wrong that says he descended into hell. Unfortunately that has misled a lot of people and some say that Jesus during the three days after he came off of the cross, battled Satan and his demons in hell. And it was looking really bad for Christ and he got knocked around and beat around and finally right at the end of the three days. Jesus somehow takes a deep breath and comes with a sucker punch and gets Satan right on the chin and knocks him out and wins the victory and our sin debt was paid for.
That is craziness. That is nonsense. That is a trick of the devil to bypass the cross and that shed blood of Christ is the means of the payment for our sin. He did not pay for our sin after he came off the cross. The payment for sin was made by His blood. Revelation 1-5 says unto Him that loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood. Jesus paid for our sins by His death and shed blood to try to say that He paid for them later is obviously not true.
Also is one of Satan’s tactics to take us away from the gospel message that says that Christ died for our sins. 1 Corinthians 15 1 verse 3. And here we have it. It says that on the cross here, right at the end of those six hours that he hung there from nine in the morning until three in the afternoon, he says finally at the very end it is finished. And then he bowed his head and gave up the spirit.
He bowed his head and gave up the spirit. I believe Jesus Christ could have stayed alive and not died had he not wanted to. So you’re John 10, Christ says, I have the power to lay my life down and I have the power to take it up again. No one else has that kind of power. Jesus is God who took on flesh and we find that Jesus had the power to lay his life down and at the appropriate time he bows his head and he dismisses his soul and spirit from his body and he dies physically.
And so Jesus was fully in control, even right up in the last minute, and then he deliberately chose to give his life. It was a little bit later that they discovered that he was dead. One of the soldiers came and it says here when they came to Jesus and saw that he was dead already, they didn’t break his legs. What is that all about? Well, you know, they wanted to get the bodies off the cross because the Passover holiday began Thursday and it really began Wednesday, 9 at 6 p.m.
because the Jews count their night period first. So we believe Christ was Christ and I died on Wednesday at 3 in the afternoon as when he died. at 6. 6 p.m. about at sundown the Passover began. And so to speed up the crucifixion they would break their legs. The Jews therefore because it was the preparation. That was Wednesday of the crucifixion week, but the body should not remain upon the cross on the Sabbath day. This was not the Saturday Sabbath.
It says that Sabbath day, it was one of the high-home days of Israel mentioned in Leviticus 23, each were considered as Sabbath and this was the Passover Sabbath. They besought Pilate, in verse 31 of John, that they might break their legs, that they might be taken away. You see a person crucified and actually winds up dying of suffocation and they have to push up their whole body weight to be able to fill their lungs and you can imagine how painful that would be because the two feet at the bottom were spiked together, they would have to push their whole body weight up on that spike holding the two feet.
You can imagine the pain that would rivet through the body and every time they took a breath, they would push up like that inhale, filler lungs, slump down, exhale and every breath had to be taken that way. It was excruciating. The pain was horrible and we find that to speed up the crucifixion, they would break the legs of the victims. The soldiers then went out with, I guess, a plank or like a baseball bat. They would take it and, I guess, like a major league hitter, swing that bat across the victim’s knees, break their legs, and then the victim would slump, would not be able to push up to get a breath, and they would quickly suffocate and die.
That’s what it says Because here was the case with Christ and the thieves. Then came the soldiers and they broke their legs of the first thief. And then of the other that was crucified with him. But when they came to Jesus verse 33 of John 19, they saw that he was already dead and they did not break his legs. But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side and four wither came out blood and water. So here we find they didn’t break the bones of Christ’s legs and guess what?
It says these things were done that the Scripture might be fulfilled, a bone of Him shall not be broken. Isn’t that amazing? How close it was? It could have been that they would have broke the legs of Christ, but notice Jesus died first and He was already dead. And when they came to Him they didn’t have to break His legs. But then we see a soldier taking a spear and thrusting it up into his side into the chest of the heart cavity and forth with their spilt out blood and water.
That tells us he was already dead because once a person dies the blood begins to separate the plasma from the solid parts and here we see a describing blood and water coming out. That means he was already dead and the body, the blood was already separating out. It’s interesting here it says again another scripture was fulfilled. They shall look on him whom they pierced. Isn’t that amazing? This piercing of his side by the Roman soldier was a prophecy from the Old Testament and Jesus fulfilled so many prophecies in that twenty four hour period from the time he was betrayed in the garden.
Notice here it tells us that not a bone in his body would be broken and yet it also says here he would be pierced and they would look upon him who may have pierced and the prophecy was fulfilled by that soldier piercing his chest cavity. Jesus then was hurriedly buried and had to be placed in the grave by sundown. And then we findanooga hours later at sundown Christ rose from the dead. And then Sunday morning they discovered the empty tomb.
He was alive, and he’s alive forevermore. That’s exciting. And you know, somebody, I think, watching on the Internet… A text message to me and I found it after the service was over and it simply said in bold type he is risen and it was right at the same point I’m sure I looked at the time when I had mentioned that in our morning worship service and apparently they were rejoicing and couldn’t help but text message me and I saw that after church was over an hour or so later that somebody rejoiced with me that Christ was risen he’s alive forever more.
God bless all of you out there. I’ll tell you. This is exciting. And you know, we have a living Savior. This is how we know He is the only Savior. Christ, from the beginning, said, what sign He was asked, would you show that that would tell us that you’re the Messiah? And He said only one sign would be given this adulterous and evil generation. And that would be the sign of the prophet Jonah. That is Jonah died. As Jonah was three days and three nights in the Fish’s Belly, socialist son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth, then he would come back from the dead.
The resurrection sets Jesus Christ apart from all world religious leaders and founders of world religions. They’re all dead men. They can’t help you, but Jesus is alive. And he said, he who believes on me or trusts on me me has everlasting life. You have eternal life from the moment you believe, the moment you trust. The better word is trust because the Greek word says we have to trust that he died. He died and I’ve sinned that in full by his death and shed blood was buried.
Rose again from the dead, the moment you trust him, God saves you. We’re going to go to the phone lines of Dr. Anclinsen. This is the Bibleline. We’re coming to you live right now. It’s Monday. It’s the day after the resurrection that we celebrated yesterday. And we’re going to go to Albany, New York, and we’re going to talk to David up in Albany, New York, and David, thanks for calling today. Hey, how about, how are you doing? Good. I went to the church over the weekend, I went to the church and I’m trying to, it turns The parents died, it was one of those, one of those, the movement with those guys black out the church and do that whole adult purpose driven thing.
Rick, what? Yeah, the Rick Warren. Yeah, what is that all about? I mean, it felt like you were somewhere where you weren’t supposed to be his Christmas. I mean, the whole darkness, I mean, first of all, you couldn’t read your Bible and secondly, they used all these chapters up, no verses, and it was just a mess. I just couldn’t understand what the darkness was about, and I just wanted to ask you. Well, I think is to attract the world, and it’s more like a nightclub type atmosphere is the way I view it, and they remove all symbols of Christianity, all crosses, and all symbols are gone and they attract with the music and the darkness and to me I just really came by end of that.
I know older folks can’t handle the noise and the loudness of the music. That’s probably what you experience too. And it’s unfortunate but we’re living in a time now when they are departing from Sound Doctrine just like it says in Second Timothy chapter 4 and we’re seeing this apostasy happen right before our very eyes and that’s a sign that we’re close to the rapture. So in one sense you can rejoice, say Jesus is coming soon, this is the evidence of it and in the other way we can grieve because, wow, the churches are departing away from the Word of God and they’re using other methods to attract people and the major reason why I should go.
The church is the worship of the Lord and to learn from his word and that is being abandoned today, unfortunately. Well, thank you very much. Thank you, David. I appreciate you calling, David, and that’s becoming more and more popular. We now have Wilbert in St. Petersburg. Wilbert, welcome to the Bible and you’re on here. I guess I have a question in good morning concerning Pharaoh. What he also drawn to himself or just was his army drawn to. I wasn’t clear.
Pharaoh himself also drowned in the Red Sea. In fact, we have a book here called The Exodus Case, which is really a phenomenal book and it has pictures. They have discovered the chariots on the bottom of the Red Sea, and these are taken by scuba divers. You can see pictures of the scuba divers and of the cherry wheels on the bottom. They found one chariot that was not encrusted with barnacles and things, and they believe that that must have been the chariot of the ferry himself that was gold overlaid, and the barnacles and things would not stick to that.
So they actually found the pharaoh’s chariot. quite an amazing book and a lot of people are enjoying that to show their friends that, hey, you know, as we advance along here, we’re finding more and more evidences that the Bible is an anchored book and tells us exactly what happened and we can confirm that today, many times, by the discoveries through modern science and archaeology and so on. Okay. All right. Well, thank you. All right, and definitely I think they might have found Ferrell’s chariot.
We’re going to go to D in Richmond, Virginia and D. Welcome to Bibleline you are on there. Hi, Dr. Hank. How you doing? Good. I’d just like to add to your Friday crucifixion deal. Not only was it three stabs in a row, you know, the past think that the Maya Supper was on pass over day. When you look at the word, the bread they used is two different words for bread. Unleavened bread is the MOS, strong 106. 106 were unleavened and always placed in front of that.
The Lord Supper has mentioned that loaf cartos is always used. And there’s no way they could have eaten loaf bread had to be out to house. and then to this affliction. But it would have to have been before pass. It’s just not making sense. The most people can figure that out very early. I was a young child. And I said, how in a world do you get three days? And three nights between Friday and Sunday? And I never did sit well with me.
And of course, after I got saved and took a closer look, you realize that it certainly could not have been Friday. And the mistake came from that verse. We just read a moment ago in John 1931 because it reads the Sabbath day and he was crucified on the preparation of the Sabbath and so they normally assume that Saturday and therefore he’s crucified on Friday but they failed to read carefully it says that Sabbath was a high holy day of Israel so it was the Passover Sabbath that is talking about and that was on Thursday and the preparation day was Wednesday exactly and they said it was that they couldn’t leave them on the cross on the Sabbath Sabbath day that’s right in the Passover was a Sabbath day.
The Feast of Unleavened Bread on the 15th was out which would have been Friday, was also a Sabbath day. And then Saturday was a weekly Sabbath. So it was three Sabbath days in a row. So it had to be on a Wednesday. There you go. But anyway, I just wanted to add that. Thank you, Dee. And also, Matthew 21 says, when the Sabbath’s plural ended, then came the first day the week and the women came and they came to finish the burial.
We know we’re going to go to Sam in Lakeland, Florida. Sam, welcome to Bibleline, and you’re on the air. Hello. I enjoy your conversation there. I wasn’t asking something, but God was saying something to you last week. He was talking about it. He said, every year we come around and you’ve been teaching on the root of that. Thanks, Gibbonne. I mean, Easter reason, Jesus reason. And he said to him that it only didn’t matter that Jesus was roped. every year you have children standing raising up cheering all the time so you have to always teach every year because cheering have never heard it so you have to reach it and teach that all the time don’t you?
Absolutely sure the death film resurrection is the heartbeat of the Bible and you can’t escape it from the very beginning pages of Genesis right on through the last book of Revelation the Bible talks about the blood it talks about the death of Christ and either in type or specific prophecies about it and then of course the actual gospels telling the story of how it really happened and without that message you can’t be saved. You have to believe the gospel is Romans 1 16th.
That I’m not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. For it the gospel is the power of God and the salvation to everyone that I believe it. So Sam, thank you for that call. We appreciate that. And we’re now going to go to Anne in Vermont, ville, Michigan. Well, Anne, welcome to Bibleline. And good to have you on the air. Hi. I was just wondering how important you feel that it is to teach creations versus the evolution. Well, I think it’s very important to point out that we did not evolve.
Obviously, that is the origin for those who don’t believe in God. And the second, our position as to how man came into being. But the Bible is very clear that God created Adam and Eve. They were the first humans. The first man was Adam. The Bible says that specifically. In 1 Corinthians 1545, the first man ever created was Adam. We’ve got to go to break and we’ll try to get back with you and right after the break and I hope all of you will stay tuned.
We’ll be back in just a minute and do the second part two of the second half hour Bibleline. Don’t go away. I’ll be right back. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. We’re going to rejoin stations that are now breaking into the second half hour by one, I’ll keep you ready to write where it is and we’ll be right back with you in one second so they’ll go away. We’ll be right back. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back from that break and this is Bible and Dr.
Lindstrom is wonderful to be with you. We’re broadcasting to you live from our studios here in Tampa, Florida at the Calvary Community Church where I’m the pastor and it’s exciting to be here with you on Monday morning after The Bible is the most significant event that has ever taken place in history. God planned it before the foundations of the world. Let us know well in advance of His coming, giving us hundreds of prophecies that were literally, literally, literally fulfilled by Jesus Christ.
We believe the Bible should be taken literally. previously, as demonstrated that it should be because these prophecies were fulfilled and you see that word so many times in the gospels that this prophecy or that prophecy or whatever prophecy was fulfilled by Christ as we just said in the past half hour that the fact they didn’t break a bone in his body was the fulfillment of an Old Testament prophecy. The fact that the soldier pierced his side was the fulfillment of an Old Testament prophecy and the fact that Christ would give his life was foretold by the prophets and Christ came and did exactly that.
I hope you’ve trusted him as your Savior. There’s no other way to be saved, but by trusting Christ. And if you try to be saved by your works, you won’t be saved because salvation is not based upon what we do for God. It’s what God did for us at the cross through Christ and his death and shed blood that purchased our salvation. We’re going to go back to the phone lines we have Ann who’s been so patient from Vermont, ville, Michigan.
And where did we live off Ann? What was that? I’m trying to remember where we left off. We got started with your thoughts. Oh, well, you were just talking about believing in the literal rising of Jesus after he died on the cross and in teaching some of the creation versus evolution, I’ve run across many people that say they do not believe the creation story literally, but if you don’t, then how do you believe that Jesus Christ literally? Well, you’re exactly right because the Bible stands or falls.
It’s all together all nothing. And Jesus obviously endorses the creation in 1919. He says, have you never read that God made him at the beginning, male and female? And that was a creation. And obviously, man didn’t come off some conveyor belt at the end of some evolutionary process. He was created specifically apart from all other life by God taking dust of the ground and fasting man and breathing in his nostrils for the birth of life. And you know the evidence is now coming on our side because like I read just recently they used DNA and they tested the DNA on the Crobactam man and they said there’s absolutely no connection between humans and Crobactam because the DNA proves it.
So more and more science advances I think the evolutionists are going to have to run and hide in the caves someplace because they’re going to be obviously embarrassed and they’ll be having put their feet in their mouth. It’s not going to taste too good. And so the Bible is going to be vindicated. But unfortunately a lot of people try to disbelieve the Bible and they accept lies instead of the truth. Yes, I think it also overlooked as a great tool for reaching people to go either deeper in their face.
Once you really show all the scientific proof that is available to back up creation, I think it opens the eyes to many people of just how awesome God is. Amen. I absolutely agree with you and I graduated myself from the University of Florida in electrical engineering and science was my God and when I found out what the Bible had to offer me, I was absolutely amazed that the Bible was accurate in the areas of science that it taught the years of its rounds, thousands of years ago way before Columbus ever sailed the ocean blue and that the universe has created out of energy.
The very concept that Einstein came along with 3,000 years after the Bible told us that. It’s quite a remarkable thing. Most people just have never been taught that. Nobody points it out. I think it’s a shame that we don’t teach more on that. I agree. I just wish more people felt that way. Most people tell me that my passion for that particular area is not really a waste of time, a lot of people just. Well I believe you’re right on and keep it up.
Okay, thank you. And that’s up in Michigan. We now are going to go to Lois down in Bradenton, Florida. Lois, are welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. On your program, Dr. Lindstrom, we listen every day. Wonderful. And I’ve learned so much. Now, the problem I’m wondering about, I know that the gospel is the death, death, very resurrection of Jesus and he died for our sins and about trust in him. But I was just wondering when Jesus was on the earth, what did he preach?
I mean, he was putting them in the gospel because he was still alive and I know he spoke in parables but what I’m John spoke, you know, went for repentance and I was just wondering what jesus and what people say during the time he was on earth absolutely uh… let me just say that john three sixteen guess what is spoken by jesus very early on in his ministry said for god so love the world that’s all of us that he gave his own of the gotten some is talking about himself that who’s whoever would believe or trust in christ should not perish but have everlasting life so there’s a dot that’s right that’s right Okay, okay, so it’s right there.
So that’s what that’s what he preached. That’s right. That’s what he preached and John the Baptist before him preached the same thing if you look at John 336 it’s a direct quote from John the Baptist and it said there that Jesus rather John the Baptist said he the believeth on the Sun has everlasting life He the believeth not the Sun shall not see life but the wrath of God abideth on him So John the Baptist also preached a very clear message.
But he wasn’t the death, virile and resurrection that he preached. Well, yes it was. And that’s what he taught. He taught he was going to die. It says in numerous verses that Jesus would go to the cross and he’d be delivered on the hands of sinful men and he would be crucified and rise again from the dead. You see that early on throughout Matthew’s Gospel of Mark and Luke. I’ll give you a quote here from Matthew and here Jesus is the beginning, let’s see here.
I’ll give you one of those quotes where Jesus says that he was going to be turned over to the religious leaders of Israel and be rejected and crucified and so on. It says here in verse 21 of Matthew 16, from that time forth began Jesus the show on his disciples, how did he must go up into Jerusalem and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes and be killed and be raised again the third day. So it’s all there.
Okay. So he did preach about that. Yes he did. Yes he did. Okay. Well I just wondered about that. you know what i mean what the gosh i was not what we would have to leave absolutely was uh… that’s exactly right as a good question that you brought it up okay thank you so much doctor let’s okay thank you lois that was lost and braid and for that we have george in venice florida and george welcome to buy one yes uh…
thank you doctor and my question is uh… in regards to after the lord had risen uh… and he appeared to the disciples he still had the uh… scars on his hand and in a side but uh… in regards to that when he met the two men on the road i will always wondered if maybe they didn’t recognize him because uh… if he had those cars maybe also it said his face was you know he’s so badly beaten that is probably face was disfigured uh…
and maybe that’s why those guys didn’t recognize them do you think that’s possible Well, I think it’s more than that. If you read Luke 24 16, it talks about that walk along the road to Emmaus. It says their eyes were holding that they should not know him. So God really kept them blinded here. As this story, I think, was not only for their benefit, but for ours as well. And we learn from them what they were thinking. Jesus interviews them and he says, why are you sad?
And then they tell the story about how Christ had been crucified and how they had hoped that he was the Messiah and so on and so on. And then he goes on to explain, oh, fools and so hard to believe all that the prophets have spoken. And that is that Christ would have to die and suffer first. And then in the second coming he would come in his glory to bring peace on earth good will toward men. And so he lays out the plan and then of course their eyes were open and they break you to bread and they recognize who he was.
It’s a great story. And I think we’re 16 though as the answer to your question. Yeah, okay. Well, great. Thank you. All right. Thank you. And that was George then in Venice, Florida We’re now going to go to John in Brandon, Florida John welcome to my blend. You’re on the air Good morning, Dr. Hank. I have a question. I think it was asked one type of nevertheless my question is at the end of the Old Testament, within that period between the end of the the book of the New Testament.
What happened in that time to it? Does anybody know? Is there any proof of any additional books written? What I’m really trying to get out is, I believe it was a period of three. If anyone had an idea or if you can probably throw some light, I’m going to hang up and then you can answer some. Okay, John, that’s a very good question. We call those the silent years and there was over 400 years of silence. Israel had really departed from the Lord and he withdrew his prophets.
So there was no authentic spokesperson for God during that time. And the one who broke the silence, the last Old Testament prophet was John the Baptist. And then of course he introduced Christ, who is God. And when Christ spoke, it was God speaking. But yes, we do have writings from that time, but they’re not inspired of God. They were not written by a prophet or authentic spokesperson for God. Those books are available. In fact, some have added them to the Old Testament scriptures.
The Catholic Church added about 14 or 15 books that are just basically Jewish histories. The Maccabees and other books tell about the Maccabees in wars and the problems that Israel is facing during that time. very interesting reading but they’re just not as tired of God and that fills in the gaps there of what happened in that time and of course other writings have come to light about that time period. In fact the Essenes who were the ones who copied the scriptures at Kumaan where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found.
We have a number of their writings that tell about the days prior to and after even Christ was crucified and right up until when the Romans came and apparently took them all away or killed them all and they had hidden their scrolls in the caves there and they remained up until 1947 when the first Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered there which were preserved because of the very dry, dry climate down there by the Dead Sea. We’re going to Darnell in St.
Petersburg. Darnell, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hey, how are you doing, Dr. Hank? Good. I had a friend. I’m trying to witness too about Christ. He came up with a question about the Easter Bunny. What did Easter… I told him that the Easter thing was a pagan belief that I couldn’t go into the Internet. We have a book called Two Babylons here in our Resource Center that really goes into that history. But it has to do with Astroth and Bail.
And you’ll find that name if you have a cordial fine throughout the Old Testament. And if you take off the last three letters, it’s just Ash-tar, the English form is Easter. And that’s the name of the mother, Bail. She was a sex goddess. And the bunny rabbits and the eggs all speak of sex fertility, rapid reproduction, and that’s where it came from. It has nothing to do with Jesus at all. So that’s got went into Christianity as the celebration of the Astrath and Baal has continued.
But when Constantine in the fourth century declared that the world be all Christian, The pagan celebration didn’t go away, but all of a sudden, Astroth became Mary and Baal became Jesus. You really have to ask sometimes, are you being presented the same ancient Babylonian system of the worship of a mother and a child and known in the Bible in the Old Testament as Astroth and Baal? Or do you have the real Mary and the real Jesus? You know, Astroth was called the Queen of Heaven.
Look at how that adaptation has taken place where many teach that Mary is the queen of heaven. That’s all paganism. And that’s not true. That’s not really the Mary of the Bible. And so unfortunately a lot of people accepting a Mary is not the Mary of scriptures and even a Jesus that’s not the Jesus of the Bible. And this is where Satan’s been really clever to bring us a counterfeit that slides right in and looks almost like the real thing.
So we’ve got to be able to read our Bibles carefully and the Booktube Abolons will really help expose that to you. Well, again, that was having to do with Asgoth as a sex goddess. The bunnies spoke about sex and rapid reproduction. You know, rapids have a little babies real quickly. quickly. And touch that. All right, thanks a lot, though. You’re welcome. Thank you, Don. All right. And so that’s really what that’s all about. And I don’t have a problem with people having bunny rabbits or eggs or whatever, but I think we need to recognize the false origin.
And really, this holiday should have been only about Jesus. It’s all about him. We’re now going to go to Jane in Jesus Saint Petersburg and Jane, welcome to Bibleline. Welcome. I just wanted to make a comment to the lady that called just a few minutes ago asking about what Jesus preached. In Luke 20, verse 1, it says that he taught the people in the temple and he preached the gospel to the chief priests and the scribes, the elders. So it says right there that he did preach the gospel.
Amen. Well, great. Thank you for sharing that. You’re welcome. And also quite a while ago you had a caller asking about Bible Studies Fellowship. Yes. And I have been in that since 1990. And it was a Bible study started by Witherall Johnson and she was a missionary to China. And it’s a Bible study that teaches that you’re saved by grace alone. Well, I faith in Jesus Christ and that’s it. Appreciate you’re sharing that with us, Jane. You’re welcome. All right.
Jane in St. Petersburg, letting us know that. We have Carl in Tampa, Florida, and Carl, welcome to Bibleline your own here. Yeah, that’s right. I was just studying a little bit. I don’t know why, but lately I’ve been being confronted with some Joe witnesses. And I find that some of the people that are probably not reading their own Bible, I did give an example in the book of John, John 1, 23, as it talked about John the Baptist and the wilderness, the pen and the wave for the Lord.
And it also refers back to back to why they have chapter forty verse three and it up smart uh… a man in wilderness prepared way for the lord and i looked it up and their bible on the internet on the the world translation bible and there it says that uh… john the baptist was prepared the way straight or job over amen Amen. And it says that also in Isaiah chapter 40 verse 3 and I’m thinking if that’s what it says there then I read no more Bible because right there tells you that Jesus Christ is Jehovah.
And so if there’s anybody that’s listening in right now that there’s Jehovah witness then they just look it up for themselves and they’ll see that and the same thing when it talks about Jesus Christ being Emmanuel. and thereby was said, or by was said, Jesus Christ, a man you’ll be meaning God with us, and thereby was says, with us is God. Wow. And that’s who a man you is, and Jesus Christ is a man you, and they’re even in their Bible.
So I think that if they just read the room Bible, they’ll probably get saved. I think you’re exactly right. They’re brainwashed by the Watchtower Society and and thanks for bringing that up. That’s really good and I’m glad that You’re arming us up here with what to say when we’re talking to a witness Yes, okay. I bless God bless you. Call that was Carl and St. Petersburg. We’re glad to have all of you listening today. Thank you for tuning in.
You know, we are listeners supported and without your help we really couldn’t be on the year. And this would be a time you could really help us. We have gotten a little bit behind. I’ve noticed a lot of ministries are telling me that their offerings have been hurt by the economy. And we’re no exception. And if you could help us, that would really be greatly appreciated. and God bless you for your help in advance. You can call and give a gift by credit card over the phone.
Or you can call and ask for an envelope to be sent mail your gift to Bibleline. You can also just give on the internet in our online bookstore there if you go to BibleLineMinistries.org. Click on the online bookstore to give there. We need your help and we’re not trying to get your money. We’re trying to get the gospel out. We believe that Christ is returning soon. Truly, the signs are everywhere. Not only… In the secular world, look at the flooding, look at the weather changes, look at the wars and rumors of wars, look at the famines and some parts of the world and the crazy world we’re living in.
Where the Bible tells us it’s a fearful time as we see the danger of nuclear war and other things I think Christ is coming soon and we need as believers to say let’s get going. Let’s wake up here. Let’s tell the world why we can because, you know, there’s a day coming. When you and I will not be able to witness, there’s a day coming when Bible line will not be on the air. And we’re going to be raptured out and our opportunities will be over.
And I believe we need to do all we can do. And that’s why I push right out to the limit of what we have, what God gives us in the way of gifts from our listeners. We try to spread ourselves right out to the very edge. And we’re excited about what God is doing. We’re going to be going on TV in Turkey free. I met the fellow that’s headed that project. He really likes what we’re doing. He says that what they need is teaching, which is hard to find anymore.
And they’re going to take my television programs, translate them into Turkish and beam them into Turkey on satellites. We’re very excited about that. That’s going to be happening pretty soon. We also had a fellow who is tuning in to Bibleline over in Central Africa in a French-speaking country. He’s asked if he could get his translators to the permission to translate our materials all into French to be used there in Central Africa in French-speaking countries. So we’re excited. What God is doing, and we hear about people getting saved all the time through Bibleline.
And maybe you’ve gotten saved through Bible and would you consider giving a gift? Just call the 800 number and you can give one by phone over the phone and you can give it by your credit card or you can mail that gift in. God bless you and thank you in advance. We now have David in Largo, Florida and David, welcome to Bibleline your own the air. Thank you, Dr. Lindstrom. I’m calling and rectoring about the event I go on with this that those 400 years were used and part of least anyway to kind of trade language so that when the gospel message was ready to be preached there was a way to try.
Well I think you’re right. The Romans obviously were builders and they built these roads and the gospel went quickly at that time and everything was ready for it to happen. And I think the same is true today as it will be a very short period of time where the gospel needs to get into all the world during the true-blasted period after the rapture and with the satellites and TVs and all this modern technology I think it’s ready again for the same kind of a thing that would happen on a grander scale worldwide and so we’re living in a time when price is returning.
That’s good thank you for sharing that David. Alright that was David in Largo Florida. We’re coming up here on the very end of the show today. Time is running out but I I hope everybody had a wonderful celebration of the resurrection. There’s no doubt about it. This is the zenith of Christianity, the most important week of the year that we could possibly celebrate. It’s a great time to talk about Christ and lead us to Christ. We pray that you’re going to be able to reach a lot of people for Christ and your family, loved ones and friends.
and this is a great opportunity to witness when we have these holidays. Also, we want you to know our Resource Center has lots of wonderful tools. The Scofield Bible, which I recommend so highly, and we now have a large print, strong skincordance, believe it or not. Nelson has put in one out we have that now available at a real good price, and we also have numerous other books for evangelizing and tracks that really work people to Christ and we have the CD how permanent is your salvation that we find that if you get something to listen to it, the chances are that they would trust the Lord.
It’s really been phenomenal and a lot of people are using them as a witnessing tool. I’m going to have to run but we’re so glad that you tuned in today.
