Click on the online bookstore and you’ll be visiting all of our resources and we hope you’ll take a look at that.

Also we’re streaming the radio program right now and we’re on the internet on our website, BibleLineMinistries.org. For your iPod, we have webcasting, it’s all free. You can take advantage of all of that. Our worship services are also there on the Internet and you can go at 11 o’clock on Sunday morning Eastern time and click on the camera on the home page and you’ll be connected to our worship service live.

But also in our We have a year’s worth of sermons sitting there waiting for you to take a look at and you can watch them at your pleasure whenever it’s convenient for you. We’re excited about Israel and we’d love to have you go with us if we get a chance here to go on another trip. We hope that you’ll give us a call and get on the list as we plan it. We obviously have done this many times. It’ll be trip number 16 for me.

We have gone in the past real cheap and I found out that everybody on the trip gets sick. They don’t sleep because the hotels are lousy and they just a miserable trip. It is one of those like a cruise ship where everybody on there gets the flu or the virus. So we try to go so you have a good hotel, you have a good night’s rest, you have good food. don’t get Pharaoh’s revenge. You survive and come home healthy and enjoy every minute of the trip.

So this is a trip blend so that everybody benefits and obviously everybody takes care of their own expenses and we have a great time. So if you’d like to go, we’ll possibly go either in October or in the spring of this coming year. Give us a call and we’ll get you in on the plans. And when you think about the travel, the hotels, the meals, everything included, the price is about the same as what you spend it, take a vacation here in the US of A, even though you’re traveling halfway around the world.

Give us a call. We’d love to hear from you. And I hope you will call us here at Biobeline. We are teaching second Peter on Tuesday nights. And if you’re in the local area, You can come out and be a part of that class. We will have three more weeks to go. And we’ll be doing class five and six next Tuesday night. This is a great series. Second Peter is a book that the devil doesn’t like. It exposes the false teaching of the last days and equips the believer and motivates the believer to really utilize the time and the talents that God has given to each of us for God’s glory.

And you don’t want to miss one of these classes. Now, if you can’t come, you can order the CDs or DVDs of this series. And also, we do have first Peter already completed. And you can order that series. And when we finish this one, and three more Tuesdays, we’ll have second Peter ready to go. We also have about 40 different ones. You can get teachings on the Holy Spirit, on the Rapture, on the End Times about Jesus is coming, how to lead souls to Christ, parables, and then plus on books of the Bible, like the Book of Jude, or the Book of Hebrews, or the Book of Romans, or the Book of Revelation, or the Book of Daniel.

All these are available 10 or 12 hours of teaching, and you can know of the CD series, or in some cases now we have them on the CD. available in DVD so you can watch and listen to the classes. We’re going to get into the Bible and we’re going to be taking our callers. The phone number is 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. The question about repentance continually comes up and I guess it will just not go away. And the reason why is that the Greek word, normally translated repentance in the New Testament, was wrongly translated into the English word repent.

It does not mean the same thing. And as a result, we have had untold confusion ever since. The word repent, if you look it up in your dictionary, it means sorrow for sin or turning from sin. But the Greek word doesn’t mean that at all. The Greek word is meta noia. If you’ll write that down, meta, m-e-t-a, and then noia, n-o-i-a. Meta means change, noia means mind, and together it means a change of mind. That’s all that repentance is.

And order be saved, yes, you must repent, but it means to change your mind. Dr. Schofield in the Schofield Reference Bible which I use in 1909 put a footnote in there on page 1174 in Acts 17 saying that saving faith includes and implies that change of mind which is called repentance. In other words, when you trust Jesus Christ as Savior, you change your mind in the process and therefore you have repented. It does not mean the term from sin or it does not mean sorrow for sin.

That would add works to the plan of salvation. And the Bible is quite clear that salvation is not of yourself. It is not of works. It’s to the person Romans 4, 5 says that does not work, but would trust in Jesus Christ who justifies the ungodly. His faith in Christ is counted for righteousness. But the devil must jump up and down with joy every time it is misused because this confuses people. And I’m amazed, for example, in the new living translation.

Whoever did that, whenever the word repent would occur in the text, it must be a word processor and just slipped in there, turn from your sin. Turn from your sin. Apparently they don’t have a clue as to what the Greek word means and they put in this wrong meaning turn from sin. These modern translations oftentimes cause us a great deal of problems because they don’t do the research, they don’t do the homework, and they lead us away from the truth.

But you can look up, and I’m not making this up, and it’s not something original with me, Dr. Scofield, taught this 100 years ago in the Scofield Reference Bible. You can look up in a Concordance, the Greek word metanoia, and see that it means a change of mind. Let me just say this. If you understand this next phrase that I’m going to give out, you’ll understand the doctrine of repentance. You can repent without believing, But you cannot repent without, you can, now I got myself confused, you can repent without believing but you cannot believe without repenting.

In other words, you can change your mind about Christ, about salvation, about any number of things and yet not believe or trust Christ is your Savior. But you cannot trust Christ without having changed your mind in the process. So in other words, when you do believe, you have changed your mind from what you were previously trusting in, to trusting in Christ, and therefore you have repented. If you read the book of Acts, almost in every case, it’s a change of mind about who is Jesus Christ.

When Peter preached on Pentecost, he told the religious leaders that they had crucified the Lord of Glory. That this was actually God who came and took on human flesh. He was the Messiah of Israel. Now the Jews killed Christ because they thought he was an imposter, a fraud, a counterfeit, a charlatan, a deceiver. And so Peter is saying, you need to change your mind. He’s back. He’s alive. He has demonstrated that he is indeed the Messiah of Israel. And when they heard that message, they were pricked in their hearts, the Bible says in Acts 237 and they said, what should we do?

And Peter says in verse 38 of Acts 2, repent. Of course, the Greek word was metanoia and it means change your mind. You need to change your mind. You rejected the true Messiah of Israel. What’s so interesting to me is that Israel has had about 30 Messiahs appear on the scene down through time and all claiming to be the Messiah. They have accepted twenty-nine of them and the one that was the true Messiah they rejected. Did you know that’s exactly what the Bible teaches.

In fact the Bible tells us that the true Messiah would be rejected by Israel but accepted by the Gentiles. Now that’s a good question to ask. Can you think of any man who ever presented himself to Israel as a Messiah that the Jewish These people rejected that Gentiles accepted as being the true Messiah and have accepted Him as their Savior. Well, I’m afraid there’s only one and that’s Jesus Christ. But as you go through the book of Acts, again and again and again, it uses the phrase, Repentance toward God and Faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

In other words, change your mind about God and about how He provides salvation. It’s not a thing that we work for or earn or gain, but it’s something that God offers as a gift. And when we trust Jesus as our Savior, we become saved. And unfortunately, most preachers define it as turning from sin. The reason why is they go to their English dictionary. And as I said before, the Greek word metanoia does not mean the same thing as the English were repent and their Satan got a great victory.

You know, it’s amazing to me that many preachers will say, Turn from your sin, repent of sin. And by the way, the phrase repent of sin does not even occur in your Bible. You can look for that phrase in the King James Bible, and the phrase repent of sin doesn’t even occur. I was surprised because I heard it used so often as a young person. I thought it was on every page of the Bible, but it’s not there, not even once.

Another thing that’s interesting is in the Gospel of John, which most people consider a Gospel track that you could actually take and give out the Gospel of John and expect that somebody can read the Gospel of John and become saved. And guess what? How many times do you think the word repent occurs in the Gospel of John? Are you ready for this? Zero. Zero. Not once. Not in any form. Not repent. Repentance. Repented. Not in the Gospel of John at all.

Wow. Now, if you have to use the word repent in order for someone to be saved, then how can you give out the Gospel of John and expect somebody to be saved? The answer is you don’t have to use the word repent. Because when Jesus talked to Nicodemus and John 3 and told him that he had to be born again and the way to be born again was to trust Jesus Christ as Savior, John 3 16 is the heart of it, that whosoever believeth in Christ should not perish but have everlasting life.

Obviously, Nicodemus was required to change his mind. It’s implied and when Nicodemus trusted Christ, he changed his mind from what he had previously believed all of his life that would get him to heaven and trusted in Jesus Christ as the one that God provided. For our salvation that God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. When Nicodemus believed that message, he repented. He changed his mind from what he had previously trusted in all of his life.

What about the woman at John, Chapter 4, the woman at the well? Obviously, she learned on the spot there as Jesus talked to her at the well that Jesus was indeed the the Messiah. She trusted Christ as her Savior and became saved. Did Jesus tell her you have to repent first? No. She changed your mind and obviously as she changed her mind she obviously as she trusted Christ she changed her mind about whatever she previously believed in and became saved on the spot when she trusted Christ.

And all the way through the Gospel of John repentance is implied and I knew nothing about repentance and I got saved when I trusted Christ as I reflect back I changed my mind about quite a number of things. I never knew that Jesus was God and that night I was shown in the scripture that Jesus Christ was God who took on flesh. I never knew that salvation was a gift and that night I saw in the Bible for the first time that eternal life was a gift.

I never knew that salvation was not by works and that night I saw that in Scripture and I change my mind about the fact that salvation is not of words. And so many things as I reflect back I changed my mind about but I didn’t consciously saying I’m repenting, I’m repenting, I’m repenting. I simply trusted Christ and if you do as I said a moment ago you could repent without believing, you could change your mind without trusting Christ but you cannot trust Christ without repenting.

It’s important to understand that and so So when you trust Christ, you do change your mind from whatever you are previously trusting in. One of the biggest contradictions in all the world is the fact that preachers will say, turn from your sin and guess what? There will have a choir singing at the crusader in the church that will say the very opposite. The choir will sing, just as I am I come. Not one plea, but that thy blood we shed for me.”

Does anybody think anymore? The preacher is saying, turn from your sin, turn from your sin. And the choir is saying, don’t listen to him. Come just as you are. Come just as you are. Without anything, without one plea, but that Christ one we shed for you. And then the preacher says, don’t listen to the choir. Let me tell you that you have to turn from your sin tonight to be saved. And then the choir comes back with an understanding and says, no, don’t listen to the preacher.

Come just as you are. Who’s right? Well in this case, the choir’s got more sense than the preacher. Because the choir is saying, you come just like you are, and that’s what the Bible teaches. Jesus says, simply come. Come. All you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Salvation is God’s gift, and we receive it simply by trusting what he did. So I hope that helps clarify repentance a little bit. We have so many that preach it wrong and tell you that you have to turn from sin to be saved.

That would be a human work. The order is you trust Christ and then God the Holy Spirit indwells you and gives you the power to have victory over sin in your life. But never are we told as the condition of salvation that we change or turn or do anything, received the finished work of Christ at the cross. I’m Dr. Hank Vince from Mrs. Bible and we’re going to go to the phone lines and we have Ann waiting patiently from St.

Petersburg and Ann welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Thank you so much. I have a question about the Master. It’s in regard to we were discussing something in regard to a decompetament and I was wondering if there was any other person besides Moses that had a speaking They were sort of the person that brought this to mind, brought this to the table, was saying that it was a brother of the disciple John, which was James and John. And we can’t find it nowhere.

I can’t either. And there probably have been many down to the years as there are many people today that do have a speech impediment. But Moses is the only one that I can think of and certainly I know nothing about one of the apostles, brothers, having a speech impediment. So we might have to wait to heaven to find out who didn’t, who didn’t. But obviously God can use you in spite of your handicaps and your limitations as God used Moses in a great way.

Thank you so much and you have a blessing. Please take it all that I learned from me because I do learn when I listen. Thank you now, Ann. Colton Hessen didn’t have a speech impediment though, did he? He really did a great job in playing Moses. But I think if it was more scriptural, he would have stuttered or done something that would have reflected that speech impediment that Moses had. But definitely always think of Trump Heston when I think about Moses because he did such a spectacular job.

We have an offer question here from Joe down in Pembroke Pines, which is near Miami between Fort Lauderdale and Miami. He says, are you familiar with Oprah Winfrey? She is promoting a book called A New Earth. The book promotes unity in faiths. I feel that many Christian women are being deceived by Oprah, can you comment? When I agree with you, 100%, she believes that there are all different kinds of paths to get to God or to get to heaven.

And it might be Jesus for you, but it might be Buddha for somebody else. And obviously this is a denial of Christ as being, in fact she comes right out and says that Jesus Christ is not the only way to heaven. What the Bible says, and Jesus says, I am the way, the truth and the life, and no man cometh unto the Father but by me. So Jesus is the only way to heaven, and the Bible is very consistent that there is no other way than through Christ.

Read Isaiah chapter 45 and many other Old Testament passages. It says the same thing. There is only one Lord and His name one, and only through Him can you be saved. And the Bible says that any other way is a false way. It says so many times in Isaiah, and I love it, I almost want to go back and quote all of these, but it says, I even I am the Lord and beside me there is no Savior. So there is only one God, there is only one Savior, and that is Jesus Christ.

Dan says, and he calls in from Tampa, and leaves this offer a question, please discuss Isaiah 59-20. I’m confused about how this verse relates to repentance of sin and the term metanoia. Well, it really is again where people want to throw in repentance where it’s not there. It is talking about Israel needing to turn away from their transgressions, but it doesn’t mean repentance or it doesn’t mean anything related to metanoia, which is simply a change of mind. Israel, of course, you have to realize that Jacob is the name used for Abraham’s grandson as he was unsaved.

But after he wrestled with the angel of the Lord, which I believe was a pre-incredient appearance of Jesus Christ, his name was changed. He got saved to Israel, which means child of God. So Israel is a reference to the nation in a spiritual or saved state. And then as Christians, yes, we need to turn from our transgressions. We need to live for Christ. And the Lord is speaking here to His people, which are a redeemed people that are saved that need to now live for the Lord.

But never is this a condition for salvation. And that’s where they go wrong, trying to twist verses like Isaiah 5920 to say that. We’re going to go now to Carl and Carl is in Tampa, Florida and Carl, welcome to Bible and you’re on the air. Hello? Hello, Carl. Yes? You’re on the air. Okay. Let me ask you if I hang up a bit on Hebrews chapter 6 verse 1 through 6. If you could explain that and I’ll listen to you.

But I have one other question since somebody brought up about Oprah and talking about many ways or whatever. Did you ever have you ever watched the interview between Robert Schuller and Billy Graham? Yes, I am. Yes, I did. 1997? Yes, I have. Okay. And if you just want to give me a comment on that one, what he talked about as well. Okay. Okay. We’ll do that. By the way, I want to say goodbye to Miami. Miami, we are glad that we’re on the air with you.

I know you signed off for four other stations and thank you for being on board. If you could help Bibleite, it would be great if you could financially help. financially help us as well as pray for us as we want to continue in your area. We know that… Many are really, really departing from the Bible today and teaching that there are other ways to heaven other than Jesus Christ. And that’s simply a lie. And Satan is the author of these lies because he doesn’t want you to be saved.

And if he can get you sidetracked and I think that you can get to heaven any other way than through Jesus Christ, he knows you’ll go to hell. In Acts 4, 12, Peter makes it so clear. He says, neither is there salvation in any other, for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. Oprah, are you listening? Peter said, in Acts 4, 12, neither is there salvation in any other, for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.

And obviously Billy Graham in that interview with Robert Schuler said that people can be saved without Christ. That is amazing and shouldn’t have ever been said. But there are those who I guess want to be all inclusive and let everybody through the door. When Jesus said, I am the door. If any man enter in by me, he shall be saved. But if you try to get in to heaven any other way than through Christ who is the door, then you’re a robber in a thief and you’re not going to get in.

Well, we’re out of time here. We’re going to take a short break. We’ll come back into a second half hour. And I hope every one of you listening will continue with us for the second half hour of Bibleline. We’ll take a short break. We’re going to come right back and keep your radio tuned right where you are will finish up with our uh… comments for carl when we get back uh… from this break state to all the right back don’t go away by the line will be back in a moment give us a call it one eight hundred five seven six three seven seven one that’s one eight hundred five seven six thirty seven seventy one all right i’m not going to this is by one is great to be with you today and thanks you thank you for tuning into the by blind program

And we need you to know that we are listening to support it. And right now, this week, we’re experiencing a shortfall and we need your help by the end of this week. If you could help us, we need to have help right now. So if you could call, maybe give a gift by credit card over the phone, that would help us out. We need about $20,000 by the end of the week. And we’ve got, I think, almost half of that.

but we still have a ways to go and we could use your help if you want to keep Bible and on the air in every area. We might have to cut some areas if we don’t get this money in by this weekend. So pray for Bible and we’re not trying to get your money. We just want to get the gospel out beyond the air and it costs money. We don’t take any salaries. We really use the money efficiently. And if you want to be a part of this ministry, we’d love to have you partner with us and help us to be able to continue to be on the air.

So pray for us and if you could send a gift or better than that is to call in and do it by credit card or you can go to our online bookstore and give it by credit card on the Internet on our secure website. Again, don’t forget to listen to Bible and every day, pass that word on to your friends. If you have friends in other countries or the parts of the states, if they go to the Internet, they can catch us anywhere in the world, anytime of day, anywhere that they might be listening.

We know we have servicemen around the world that are listening to Bible and on the Internet. We also have 156 countries down that have logged in and we get correspondence by email back from numerous places all over Africa, Europe, India, Indonesia and so on and it’s exciting. So would you pray that we could continue to reach out to people that are lost in seeking with the Gospel of Jesus Christ? And obviously you can be a real prayer warrior and pray for Bible and pray that we might be able to see this ministry continue to grow and also to be able to stay on the areas, in areas where we already are by your generous gifts to Bible.

We couldn’t be on the air without you and we definitely need help right now. We’re going to return to stations that have been on break. We’re going to do the second half hour of Biblehead. So stay tuned. Don’t go away. I’ll be back right now. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom.

We’re back for that break and this is by the line. It’s great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning in to the broadcast. We are coming to you live from Tampa, Florida, from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church. And we invite you to join us every day, Monday through Friday live. And also we hope that you will go to the internet, catch us at maybe a time that’s convenient for you to sit down. And as a lot of people tell me, I like the fact that they can pause and fast forward and go back and so on.

We hope that you will participate in using the Internet site to use the things that we have there to get you into the Bible and programs. I’m Dr. Ang Linschroom and we’re excited about being able to bring Bible into you, but we’ve right now are suffering a shortfall because I think of the economy or whatever, but we need $20,000 by tomorrow by the end of the week and we have about half of that come in, but we still have ways to go.

Would you consider helping Bibleline to assure that we don’t have to cut a station or two to remain on the air? We would hate to cut any area and maybe wherever you’re listening right now could be one those areas where you just won’t hear by a blind and that would be sad. So we need your help and if you could help us that would be great. You can do it by credit card over the phone or you can mail that gift in but we really need it right away or we’re going to have to probably drop the station or two where we are.

We don’t want to do that and thank you to all of you who have responded thus far and we still have a ways to go so So we hope that you will cause and maybe give a gift by credit card or mail a gift in to Bibleline and no gift is too small. If you can only give a dollar, we know that God is going to add that all up and multiply it. And if you can give a larger gift of 50 or 100 or 500 or 1000, that would be wonderful.

And it would help us get caught up and be able to continue on the air in all the areas where we are right now. Anyway, I’ll let that go and I’ll trust that God will lay it on your heart to help my blood at this critical time. Carl, who just called in a moment ago, was asking about Hebrew 6, 1, 2, 6. And of course, this is a passage that apparently causes a lot of confusion for people. As you begin on the first verses, it’s talking to Christians, it’s talking to believers who are now told to go on toward maturity.

And in verse 4, it talks about it’s impossible for a believer. There are five things mentioned that are clear marks that these people are born again that they’re saved. If they fall away, now it’s impossible to fall away from salvation. This is talking about falling from your assurance, from your steadfastness, from service, but not from your salvation which is impossible. What it is saying here, if you were to fall away from serving the Lord, it is impossible for you to go back and become saved again because you are already saved forever.

Chapter 10 of Hebrews says, By one offering Christ perfects forever those that are sanctified Hebrews 10 14. So once you become saved, you’re saved forever and you can’t be lost. Christ will not cast you out. John 6 37, Christ will not lose you. John 6 39. And so what it’s telling these Hebrew believers in particular is that they don’t need to go back and become saved again. You see, they were used to the yearly sacrifice in the temple and how they had to come back again and again and again and again with another sacrifice every year.

And here it’s saying here it’s impossible if you fall away from serving the Lord to become saved again. It says if you attempt to do that you wind up crucifying Jesus Christ again. He says, here to yourself, because Christ is not going to die again, but you crucify him to himself and put him to an open shame. In other words, what you’re saying here is you’re telling people by attempting to be saved again that the one-time death of Christ was not sufficient to save you forever.

If you look at verse 9 in this passage, it says we’re talking about things in a company salvation. And it’s talking about rewards. Verse 10 says, God has done unrighteous to forget your work and your labor of love. So whatever you do, for God will be remembered, and God will reward you. So what it’s really saying is it’s impossible for you to become saved again, but you need to become serving again. And so if you have gotten away from the Lord, you need to come back.

If you haven’t been serving lately, you need to start serving again. But you don’t need to go back and become saved again because that is impossible. It says in verse 4, it is not possible for those that are saved. If they fall away from serving the Lord to go back and become saved again, because if you attempt to do that, you simply put Christ in an open chain by attempting to crucify Him all over again to pay for your said when Christ died once and that one time death was sufficient to save you forever.

So it’s putting him through the open chamber. It’s really a blasphemy against Christ to say that his one time death was not sufficient to save you eternally. If you have internet access, Carl, you might want to go to my website and look on the bottom right corner of the webpage, the homepage, to Dr. Lynch’s articles. up the article of written, called Hebrews 6, 4 through 6, and I have a lengthy explanation where you go right through what we just talked about.

Hopefully, Carl, that helps you, Carl, and called in from Tampa before the break. We now have Bill in Tampa, calling in, and Bill, welcome to Bible Ed. Hi, Hank. Just got a quick question, but I’d like you to spend a little time on it. I’ve I’ve tried to understand it and I just can’t understand it. But when Jesus said, if your eye causes you to sin, fuck it out, throw it away, it’s better to enter into life’s name than to hell with all your eyes or your hand if it causes you to sin, you know, likewise, you know.

Could you explain that to me? Well, basically Christ is saying you don’t want to wind up in hell at any cost. Then if your eye or your foot or your hand would prevent you from becoming saved, it would be better to lose it. I’ll never forget years ago I had a family and they had a son they were a wealthy family and their son was a young jet setter and he was about ready to take a trip around the world and the dad was very concerned about him and said would you talk to my son about his salvation and so I said I’d be happy to so we set up an appointment and the son had a little bit of an attitude he came into my office and he said as he looked at his wristwatch he said my dad said that you would talk to me and it would be a one-hour

our appointment, you’ve got one hour from right now. Give it your best shot. So here I was challenged now to give it my best shot and leave him to Christ in one hour. So anyway, I explained the gospel and he clearly understood what I was saying, but he said he didn’t believe it and wouldn’t buy into that and wouldn’t trust Christ. So I said, what would it take? And he didn’t really say that anything would convince him. He said he was pretty much beyond convincing.

And I said, well, let’s say that if only some event in your life would change your mind, what if I prayed right now for you and you would leave here to have an accident and you You would know that God answered that prayer and wouldn’t that convince you to believe the Bible and trust Christ as your Savior. And he said, no, that would just be coincidence. And I said, well, what if we got very specific? And I was thinking about this passage you were bringing up, Bill, and I said, well, what if in the accident that your right leg was severed exactly four inches above the knee, completely severed off?

If that were to happen, would you believe? I said, if that’s the only thing that would convince you, I wouldn’t pray that unless you agreed with me. Thank you. That you would agree to that as a condition that you would agree to so that if it happened you would believe. I believe if you allow me to do that, that it would happen. And so let’s pray together. Would you let me pray that your left leg, four inches above the knee, would be completely severed off in a car accident as you leave here?

And he said, no, he said, I won’t let you pray that. And he wouldn’t agree to that. And so I said according to the Bible, if keeping your leg would prevent you from going to, you know, to heaven or hell, then it would be better if you lost it. Well, anyway, he wouldn’t let me pray that. But I said, well, would you let me just pray that God wouldn’t hear fear in your life and bring you to a place where you would trust Christ in your Savior?

And he said, OK, and I prayed and he left. Well, I didn’t hear anything for quite a while, but later he came back to me and he I said, guess what? He says, I left your office and I flew on my first part of my journey to Africa. And he says, I know sooner than got to Africa, I contracted hepatitis. I was in a hospital in Africa for six months, my life hung in the balance. And then they had to fly me back to the States where I was also in a hospital for a number of more months.

And he says, I remembered what we prayed about. He says, you know, I’ve come to trust Jesus Christ as my Savior. And by the way, that guy not only trusted Christ, but he became a missionary in South America. What a great story. And that was a real life event. And I said, I believe if it would take the loss of your eye or your hand or your foot to get you saved, that it would be better to have that happen to you than for you to to go to hell with all your body parts so bill that that’s a real-life story that really work and this guy is a missionary to this day okay so he was talking to unbelievers actually yeah i was talking to an unbelieving guy he was a but i’m sorry uh…

uh… jesus was talking to unbelievers oh yeah absolutely always uh… we are going to go out for as a believer i think it all applied to me as a believer i guess that’s what i’m getting up a little bit yeah he’s talking about their going to hell and believe it’s a good help right that’s why i get to understand it i appreciate it though okay welcome bill and uh… thank you for calling we’re not going to go to kurtis in jacksville for the kurtis welcome to bible and you’re on the air the morning after good morning i got a question but i want to comment on your topic today and the bible right dot repented Well, two examples I’m thinking of, top of my hand was Abraham and Solomon Gomorr in Joshua going into the promised land.

You’re absolutely right. In fact, in the Old Testament, this is why the definition that repentance is turning from sin is wrong because of the 43 times that the word repent occurs in the Old Testament, 37 of the 43 times it is God who repents not man and if you do the math 37 divided by 43 that’s 86% of the time it’s God who does the repenting now if you define repent as turning from sin then you’ve got a serious theological problem you’ve got a holy sinless God who is not capable of sinning turning from his sin left and right obviously that can’t be the right definition and it’s talking here about a change of mind.

It’s not talking about God turning from sin. It’s not one number, the fact that he’s sinned just one time and everything that we believe would be alive. You got that right. It’s really crazy. Isn’t it Curtis? Not my question. On topic he was talking the other day when it says Jesus said if you other way with the door that you would be also in that chapter is that the jesus says that uh… he had that you are so i can’t remember exactly what you’re talking about you saying but he had to go get some other sheet because it’s not a bit what he referred to the gen-towel he sure was courtesy talking about that and tells because the jewish people obviously were rejecting Christ and so he was going to extend it to the Gentiles and invite them to be saved the same way and so the other sheep

I believe are Gentiles who would come in and of Christ. Okay, thank you. That’s what the Lord revealed to me and I just wanted to check it. Well good enough Curtis that’s great and thank God because I’m one of those gentiles. We have Mary Ann in Orange City, Florida. And Mary Ann, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Okay. I have a comment or a question on repentance. Also, it wouldn’t Jesus talk to the adulteress, woman caught in adultery.

He told her to go now and sin no more. How does that sit in with what you’ve been teaching about repentance? Right. Well, that’s right. He’s telling her not to go out and commit adultery again. Obviously there’s nobody who can live totally sin-free. So he’s not saying to not ever sin again because we all do. John the Apostle said 60 years after he was saved in 1 John 1 8, if we say we, he includes himself in that we, if we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not is.

So the believer still will sin but she didn’t have to go out and commit adultery again but we cannot live without sin. We might sin in thought or word or deed and also we sin in failure to do the things that we ought to do as a believer. James tells us to him one that knows to do good and do with it not to him and to sin James 4 17. So obviously there’s nobody on the planet that is able even after they’re saved to live completely sin free.

But she didn’t have to go out and commit adultery again. Actually, can I ask one more question? Sure. It’s kind of a newer concept to me that Father draws us to him instead of that we draw to I always find myself is seeking him out, teaches that he drives us. And what I’m wondering is does everybody get drawn to the father equally? Does everyone have an equal chance to get to heaven? You’re absolutely right. That’s right on. So God the Father draws everyone, and you have the choice to say no and reject him, and obviously many do reject him.

but they will not have an excuse one day because God the Father certainly sought them. Jesus, it says in Luke 1910, came to seek in the Saviour which was lost. So he came to seek us out and find us and bring us to himself but if you say no, then you are turning down the offer that he gives to you to be to save you and give you eternal life. We’re welcome and thank you, Mary Ann, in Orange City, Florida.

We have here Tim and Palm Harbor, Florida, calls in with this offer question. I know that no one can be saved except by Jesus. What about people that have never heard of him? For example, people in remote areas who have not been reached by the gospel? All the answer is, is that God implants knowledge of the fact that God exists within them. Now they may not know the gospel and they may not know Christ, but Romans 1, 19 says, because that which may be known of God is manifest or made known in them because God hath shouted unto them, verse 20 says, they are without excuse.

In other words, they are then responsible to seek. If you seek the Lord, you’re going to find him. In Jeremiah 2913, one of my favorite verses that says that if you seek the Lord with all your heart, you will find him. So I don’t care where you live, what remote area of the planet, God will get the gospel to you. And you see examples of that in the Bible. In fact, in the book of Job it tells us that if a person is seeking, that God will keep them alive through disease, through battle, through war, until a messenger can get to them and tell them how to be saved.

And you have stories of seeking people. You have the Ethiopian eunuch and he’s a man from Africa. And he is searching and God leads Philip over to him and Philip leads him to Christ in Acts chapter 8. Acts chapter 10, you have a man who is an Italian born and raised in Italy and he’s He’s on duty as a soldier in Israel, a centurion. He’s searching, he’s seeking. And what happens? God has him fetch Peter. And Peter tells him in his household how to be saved.

And there’s an example after example of people that are searching that find the gospel and find the truth. So Tim, I hope that helps. And if you look at my articles on the internet… Dr. Lindstrom’s article is bottom right hand corner of the home page and look up heathen and what about them? It’ll tell you a lot of examples of how God reaches the seeking person no matter where they might live on the planet. We have Mary. We don’t know what city she called in from, but she leaves this off her question.

Please explain the name Daystar. I see that this is discussed in Isaiah 1412 and second Peter. 1 19. There’s also a reference in the Scofield Bible on page 726. Well the Day Star is the morning star or is Christ. But in Isaiah 14 you have Lucifer who became Satan who aspired to be the Day Star or the morning star. He wanted to overthrow God, take over heaven and become the one who would replace Jesus Christ. And so he is the counterfeit Morningstar.

He is the false day star or Morningstar. And that’s what’s going on. Satan wants to obviously become Christ. And that’s why the Antichrist is called the Antichrist. He is the counterfeit Christ. And many things about the Antichrist will be things that are true about Christ. When the Antichrist comes to power, he’s going to rule the Western world from Jerusalem, just as Christ will rule the world from Jerusalem during the millennium. And he’ll demand worship, and he will obviously do miracles.

anything that Christ did, He’ll be a complete counterfeit of the Lord Jesus Christ. Okay, if you like to call in the phone numbers 1-800-576-3771. Let me again say that we are in a crisis this week. We’re in a shortfall financially. I think the economy and things have happened such that we need about $20,000 for the week is over so that we don’t have to cut any stations that were presently on and we’d hate to lose the station that you’re listing the Bible and on today.

So if you could help us, it would be really appreciated. And if you can’t, we love you just as much, but if you could, call today and give a gift by credit card over the phone. We need your help. So far we got about half of that money in and we have today and tomorrow to get the rest of it So could you help us? We need about 10,000 more and we need your help Could you call in and give a gift to Bible and no gift is too small if you can only give a dollar God bless him If you can give 10 that would be great If you could afford to give a larger gift of 50 or 100 that would it be even better and maybe some of you can give a gift of 500 or 1000.

We need your help to get that 10,000 that were short by this weekend. Would you consider calling 1-800-576-3771 and help Bibleline through this shortfall? And I hope that God will lay that on your heart to do that. Again, no matter what size gift, we We appreciate that and know that the world will take it and use it to keep Bible ongoing. We need your help. So please give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. We have David in St. Petersburg. Dave, welcome to Bible in.

Yes, just another passage for the fact that God reaches all men, is Titus 2-11 for the grace of God that brings us salvation, hath appeared. Amen. That’s a great verse. Titus 2, 11. 2, 11. Yes. Thank you, Dave. I appreciate that. All right. God is a desirous of reaching all men. Certainly, John 3 16 says it for God still of the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.

And it’s God still of the world, all of the human raised. Okay, we have a caller who called in giving us a reference to a person in the Bible who had a speech impediment. The reference is in Mark 732. If that person is still listening from the first half hour, it’s Mark 732, somebody else who had a speech impediment that’s referenced in the Bible. We have Billy in Pinellas Park says what does the number 12 refer to when it’s used in the Bible?

For example 12 apostles, 12 tribes. Does this have any relationship to how we use the number 12 today? For instance, there are 12 people on a jury. Well, if you read Matthew 19, it says that the 12 apostles will sit upon 12 thrones judging the nation of Israel. So maybe 12 people sitting on a panel today. judge came from the Bible. Matthew 19 says that the 12 apostles will sit on 12 thrones. Maybe that is the number that was chosen because of the Bible for the number of people on a jury.

Good point. Milly, thank you for calling in and I hope that is going to help. We are about at the end of the hour here and I do want to thank you so much for listening today. Again, we are experiencing a shortfall and things part of the economy and so on. But we need your help. Would you give a gift today to Bibleline? And we would ever be grateful if you would call us and ask our operators or tell them you’d like to give a gift and they’ll tell you how you can do that.

God bless, have a great day and we’ll look for you tomorrow. So keep listening to Bibleline and keep looking up.
