Both of these are offered for a gift of $100. He did a great job of giving you the best. So you’re getting it for half and also you’ll help Bibleline a little bit. So, would you consider getting some of your resources right here? We’ve got Heaven tracks that work that lead people to Christ. We’ve got the book on evangelism called Handbook to Personal Evangelism. One of the real neat things we have here is the Stofield Bible in Spanish and English.

It is a beauty. It is a leather-bound Bible. The left side of every page is English with the Scofield notes. The right side is Spanish with the Spanish notes from Dr. Scofield. And it is a beauty plus we have just Spanish only. If you want to get a Scofield Bible in Spanish with the Spanish notes, we do have that available here too. So you might want to check that out. Well we are excited about getting into the Bible today.

If you have your Bible there, you might want to take a look and take a look at the Scriptures that we’ll be turning to today. We’re going to go to 1 Corinthians and we’re going to take a look at chapter 3 where we have the judgment seat of Christ, the judgment seat of Christ which is the judgment coming up for all believers that will take place at the event of the Rapture and that’s when the believers of this age which began at Pentecost, we’ll end at the rapture, are going to be judged according to their works to determine the degree of reward that they’ll receive in heaven.

This is for believers only, and if you are an unbeliever, then you’ll stand at another judgment that occurs a thousand years later called the Great White Throne Judgment, where all of the unsavably brought up and judged according to their works and assigned a degree of punishment in hell. So we learn according to the Bible that your works have nothing to do with your salvation. They have everything to do with your destination. In other words, when you trust Christ as Savior, you become saved and you will go to heaven.

But you will be judged that the judgment of Christ as to your works for degree of punishment or rather a reward or loss of reward. But the unbeliever who will go to hell because he’s an unbeliever will be judged according to his works to determine the degree of punishment that he’ll receive in hell. 1 Corinthians 3 describes this judgment where it says in verse 11, for other foundation can no man lay, and that is laid which is Jesus Christ.

So the foundation is Christ and only believers have this foundation, and so only Christians will be standing at this judgment. It then says in verse 12, if any man built upon this foundation, Gold, Silver, Precious Stones, Wood, Hay, Stubble. It mentions six different kinds of building materials here. The Gold, Silver, Precious Stones represent things that are done that are lasting, that will endure the flames that will test these works, and the Wood, Hay, and Silver represent things that are done for self, and our temporal will be burnt up and bring no reward in heaven.

Verse 13 says, Every man’s work shall be manifest or made known for the day shall be clear that is the judgment seat of Christ because it shall be revealed by fire and the fire shall try not the man, but every man’s work of what sort it is. So the fire will sort out your works. It will all be piled up, fire will hit it and those things which are done for self, wood, hand stubble will be burned up and nothing left but ashes.

But those things which are done for Christ will last and be rewarded and you’ll have rewards in heaven. Verse 14 says, If any man’s work abide which you have built there upon, he shall receive a reward. So in other words, if the fire tries your works and you’ve done things that are worthy of reward, things that are represented here by goals over precious stones, they’ll be purified and they’ll remain and you’ll receive a reward. In verse 15 says, If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss by his loss of reward, but he himself shall be saved yet so as by fire.

What is so interesting about this verse is obviously it implies here that somebody could live out their whole life and do nothing for Christ, zero for Christ, have their works all burned up, suffer the loss of reward, but yet it says here very clearly they would still be saved. They would still be saved. I hear all the time that unless your life changes, unless you gain new heights every day, as you’re on your upward way, that you won’t make heaven.

That’s craziness. The Bible doesn’t teach that. The Bible teaches that you’re saved at the moment you believe forever based upon the finished work of Christ at the cross that He paid our sin debt in full. And once you trust Him, you receive that gift to be eternal life, it’s offered completely free. And here it tells us in verse 15 of 1 Corinthians 3 that at the judgment seat of Christ when believers will stand there and give it account for what they’ve done since they’ve been saved.

If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss. That’s loss of reward. But notice he’ll be saved. He’ll be saved because he’s not saved by his works. He’s saved by trusting Christ as Savior. And so he saved because he has the foundation of Christ by trusting him as Savior. But his works might be burned up. He will suffer the loss of rewards for eternity in heaven, but he still will be saved yet so as by fire. It’s interesting that many people try to add works to salvation, but here the Bible is very clear that if a believer did no works after trusting Christ, He would suffer the loss of reward, but he himself shall be saved.

1 Corinthians 3.15 Look it up. Verse 8 tells us in this wonderful chapter, Every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labor. So we know that believers are going to be held accountable one day, and they will receive their own reward according to their own labor. Not their good intentions, but what they actually did, Whatever you do for Christ will be remembered. Whatever you do for Christ will be recorded and rewarded. But it has nothing to do with your salvation.

The Bible tells us our salvation has nothing to do with our works. But rewards have to do with our works. And that’s what this verse is saying here. Every man, verse 8 of 1 Corinthians 3, shall receive his own reward according to his own labor. So rewards are based upon labor. Salvation is in every case presented as God’s gift. A gift is something that is purchased by somebody else, sometimes at a great expense and given freely to the one that they give it to because they love you.

Well God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, which is obviously a very expensive gift, isn’t it? God gave Jesus to die for you and for me, so that he might purchase the gift of eternal life. And once you trust Christ, you receive that wonderful gift of eternal life. But then from that point on, you are to serve the Lord, and if you serve Him, you’ll be rewarded, and every man will receive his own reward according to his own labor.

First Corinthians 3 8. But even if you did not labor for Christ, if If he did not serve the Lord, verse 15 says, If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss, loss of reward, but he himself shall be saved.” So obviously, salvation has nothing to do with our works, and a person could live out their Christian life and not serve the Lord one day, not do one thing worthy of reward, and still be saved, but yet they would suffer the loss of reward.

I’m glad I learned about this as a young believer because I realized, whoa, my life was not involved in doing things for God. And so I was going to enter heaven as a believer with no rewards. And I decided I better do something about that. So I chose to start living through Christ. As you live for Christ, as you give of your time and your talents and your treasures to the Lord, you’re laying up treasure in heaven. And the Bible says that that is treasure that will be there forever.

You can’t take it with you when you die, but you can send it ahead if you live for Christ. And Jesus tells us in Matthew 6, lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven. The way we do that is by living for Christ here. So what are you doing on earth for heaven’s sake? In other words, what are you doing in this lifetime that will bring about an eternity of reward? One of the five martyred missionaries down in Ecuador many years ago said he is no fool.

This was Jim Elliot, one of those that were martyred, and he says he is no fool who gives up that which he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose. What a great quote. He is no fool who gives up that which he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose. you and I, we can’t keep anything that we have here. We’re going to leave it behind when we die, but we can spend our time and our talents and our treasures here and being laying up for ourselves rewards in heaven for eternity.

And I’m a smart believer. Whil be serving and be doing things that are going to count for eternity. And God is going to reward everything you do. Nothing will be forgotten. I always marvel at the story of the little widow, that when the disciples were at the temple and they saw Richmond offering huge offerings into the treasury there at the temple of Jerusalem during Christ’s day. They were just pointing it out to Christ and with their tongues hanging out of their mouths and they were just in awe at this giving by very rich people a large offering.

Jesus takes her eyes away to a little woman, a widow, and he says that she gave more than these rich men because she gave all her living. She had only one coin. She was the last calling that she possessed and she gave it as an offering. And God has immortalized this woman by letting us know that this woman’s gift was greater because, per se, she gave 100% while the rich men still had much left over that they kept for themselves.

And so whatever you give is going to be remembered, just like God saw that little woman give her might. And she is remembered through Scripture now for these thousands of years since. And we know that God notices everything we do. And no matter how small or insignificant it might seem to you or to me, God sees your heart and He sees what you have given or what you have done. And He’ll reward that in heaven one day. And the Bible tells us that we ought to be living here, recognizing that what we do for Christ is going to count forever, but what we do for self will be burned up and will not last.

Everything on this earth and the earth itself will one day be burned up by fire, and only the things that we’ve done for Christ will last. Will you have any treasure in heaven? I’m afraid you can start today. Start reading your Bible. Start sharing it with others. Start living for Christ and you’ll have rewards in heaven. I’m Dr. Anglinschirm and this is Bible and we’re going to go to our phone lines. The phone number is 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. We’re going to go to Levita in Lake Worth, Florida and Levita.

Welcome to Bible Anya on the Earth. Thank you very much, Dr. Hank. Yeah, I had a question. The term heart is used over 800 times in the King James Version of the Bible. We know that the heart is a pumping organ. So my question is from what term or term in the original language was the word heart translated? And was there just one word in the original language or many? Could there have been a better translation? Well the answer is yes.

It really means the center of your thought processes and back in 1611 they thought wrong that you did your thinking with your heart heart because obviously it would skip a beat or it would race or slow down depending on what was going on around you. And today we know you think with your brain. So really when you believe with your heart you’re really believing with the center of your thought processes. Today we know it is our brain. And we have those expressions from that 16-11 time like we say for example I love you with all my heart.

Well, that’s technically not true, but it’s not very romantic to say, I love you with all my brain. So if you want to tell your family, I love you with all my brain. It would probably cause them to be turned off. But we have that expression we’re getting used to it, but it really means the center of your thought processes. And that’s based on the wrong understanding of our anatomy back in 1611 and that we did our thinking with our heart, but we don’t.

And other cultures, I understand, they translated their bowels or their stomach or other intestines which are affected by our thoughts. And you can be frightened or afraid and it affects different parts of your body. But the actual word means the center of your thought processes and we’re just kind of stuck with it and it has to be explained sometimes because it isn’t really your pumping organ. Okay, so actually the words were translated correctly. It’s just that we we have a different understanding of the anatomy Today versus then yeah, exactly.

Yeah. Yes. They thought that we did think or think with our heart in those days And that’s why they translated hard, but the word would today would maybe be brain But it’s gonna be hard to put sell that to people to get it to right write our Bibles and say believe with all your brain What is the original language word, do you know? I forget right now I used to know that on the top of my tongue but I’d have to look it up.

If you get our website you can do it on our website. We have a Bible there with a concordance and you can look up the original word and it’s pretty easy. Okay. I really appreciate your time Dr. Hank. Thank you so much and God bless you. Thank you, David, in Lake Worth, Florida. And we’re now going to go to Skip in Clearwater, Florida, and Skip, welcome to Bibleigner on the air. And now you say that the parables are the parables obviously can be made to say a lot of things, but you have to interpret them in the light of clear doctrinal passages elsewhere or you’ll go astray.

If you look at the ones in Matthew 13, a couple of them Christ interprets for us. And when that gives us a real basis of defining the terms and if you didn’t have that you can really go all over the place. I have a lot of commentaries and you can probably read six different commentaries on a particular parable and get six different ideas about what it might say. So the parables are not written to make things clear but to conceal truth as Christ said.

I spoke in parables that seeing they would not see and hearing they would not hear and that they would not understand unless they’re any time they should be converted. So from the people that are wise in their own eyes and are not really seeking, they’ll be misled by the parables. But a person seeking the truth can find the answers, but you have to interpret them in a lot of clear passages. So whenever you approach a parable, you may make sure that whatever interpretation you come up with is in harmony with the rest of the Bible.

And so that one I don’t think is so mysterious, but you’d be surprised at how many different ideas come up out of that. I believe that it’s talking about a believer who departs away from the Father and then sees how foolish that was. It obviously is not a better life to live after the world and so he comes back to his Father and his Father receives him back. So God receives us back and we can be restored and God never casts us out.

He never loses us. We’re saved eternally once we trust him as our Savior. And so the Lord rejoices when we come back to serve, even live for Him, even if we’ve gotten away or if we’ve fallen away, we can come back and get going again. So you believe that that son was saved even though it says he was dead but now was alive? Yeah, he was dead as far as the intimacy with his father. He just disappeared off the scene and now he comes back and he’s alive to his father again He had…

in the sense that they are together and they’re fellowshipping. But he was very much his son the whole time. He never was not a son, had to be re-adopted into the family. He was a son all along. So that’s what? Well yeah, because I’m all the time. Absolutely. You know, I was my father’s son, whether I obeyed or disobeyed, whether I lived at home or whether I moved away. In fact, my father’s passed on to heaven, but I’m still his son.

There’s nothing that can ever undo that. And so here was a son who decided to take his inheritance and run off and do his thing, but he was still the father’s son at all times. He was at a fellowship and obviously found out that it wasn’t greener on the other side and obviously he missed out. I want to say goodbye to Miami. Miami, thank you for listening down there and again we appreciate me on the air in Miami. Again, we need you in Miami to pray for us.

And if you can support Bibleline so that we can continue the program there and also maybe get that second half hour and give you the full hour program. All right, we’re back to our listeners. We’re going to come back now to Carol in Punta Gorda, Florida. And Carol, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Thank you. Yes. How are you? Good. Good. I want to say first, thank you. I went for many years really not knowing as a Christian if I was saved or not.

There are so many churches that teach different doctrines, and I did call in last month, and I’ve got your packet. I wrote all of the saving salvation scriptures everywhere I could find, thanks to everything that you sent me, and now I feel absolutely secure. After I became a Christian in 75, but I am absolutely saved. So thank you. Oh, welcome. That’s wonderful news, Carol. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Oh, that’s exciting. Well, I am happy for you and been past that word one of the others.

I will. And I do have a question. You were talking about incurrentience about the things that we do for the Kingdom of God. The only thing that’s going to count as far as what we receive when we get to heaven. Now, isn’t, I mean, I know that we are not saved by what we do, but what we do for the Kingdom of God is that means just being nice or being kind or witnessing. Does it only mean witnessing? I’ve heard it said that, you know, what we aren’t supposed to do is to go ye therefore, which I understand.

But I have to be a very nice person as a Christian and very kind and good, but does that not count? And when you say all of those things which we’ve done into Christ will count. Can you kind of give me a little, can you break that down a little bit for me? I’m happy to do that. I’m going to have to do it in the second half hour because I’m out of time. Is that okay, Carol? Yes, I will be listening.

Okay. And I have to run. We’re going to take a break. We’ll come back after this short break and do a second half hour. And we’ll finish up talking about this question that Carol has. And so don’t change that dial. I’ll be right back after this short break. It will do by the second half Don’t go away Bibleline. We’ll be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771 That’s 1-800-576-3771 Well, I’m Dr. Englund’s chairman. It’s great to be with you and we thank you for tuning in today We appreciate all of our listeners and we’re excited about about bringing this program to you every day.

If you can, please consider giving and helping Bible on because we are totally list or supported and we could certainly use your help. If you would pray for us, that would be great. We know God knows here and answer prayer, no doubt about it. And also, we certainly need your financial support because we have no other means of being on the air, except to have you help us to make sure these bills get paid that we are on the year.

And we thank you in advance. God bless you, all of you that give and support Bibleline from wherever you might be, and we appreciate you all so much. Call and you can do it by credit card over the phone or you can call and ask for an unload to be sent and mail your gift in to Bibleline. Also if you order from our Resource Center that will help us somewhat and that would be great. so many things that you can order, including we just finished 2nd Peter last night.

And so you can order that series on CD or on DVD. And I think you’ll find that it’s very powerful. Be able to sit down with your Bible and go verse by verse through 1st and 2nd Peter. Both of those books now are finished and are available on CD or DVD and you can call today and order that. And I think it’ll help you a great deal. If you’re driving to and fro from work, you can throw it in your CD player and play it and learn while you’re driving to work or when you’re coming home from work or in your home or to use it to facilitate a Bible study or Sunday school class.

Play a portion of these and then have a discussion on it and it’ll be, I think, very powerful for you. We are looking forward to having you come by sometime if you ever come into the area from wherever you might be coming to Florida. Our church and the radio Bibleline headquarters is right here, One Block West of Tampa’s International Airport. So if you can find Tampa’s International Airport, which you ought to be able to find, you’ll be able to find us.

We’re just One Block West on the west side of the Tampa Airport. Come by and see us. Knock on the door and say hello. And obviously if you want to come by sometime, the third Sunday is always a great Sunday to come visit us as we have a dinner on those days and we’d love to have you come and join us for that nice lunch dinner on the third Sunday right after the 10 30 morning worship service. Come at 10 30 bring your family or appetite your Bible, be my guest, stay for the lunch and it’ll kind of make it a day for you and I think you’ll have a great time.

We’re going to rejoin the stations that have been on break and go back now and do the second half hour of Bible and so stay tuned and don’t change that dial. Here we go. When you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question, you can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. All right, we’re back to that break and this is Bible and it’s great to be with you. We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church.

We’re on the pastor and you’re always welcome to come by. and visit with us during the week. Our resource center is open every day. We’ve already had people coming by this morning before the radio show and we’re open every day till about 4.30 in the afternoon and you’re welcome to come by and join us here and visit. You can come on worship day if you’d like on a Sunday or Wednesday night and we have services tonight. You can come by and visit with us.

We hope you will. Also on the internet of course you can visit not only our resource center but you can visit our worship services because we webcast them live on Sunday morning but if you go to the camera on the home page BibleLineMinistries.org you’ll be able to get the archives there and there’s a years when the servants sitting there waiting for you to watch and hear on your computer. So you might want to take advantage of that and all the other things that are available there for you.

We’re going to go back to the phone lines. We’ve got all of our phone lines that are lighting up here left and right. We’re just talking to Carol down in Punta Gorda. And obviously whatever you do for the Lord, you know the Bible talks about, for example, in Ephesians. If you’re just a good employee for Christ, if you are a good witness that you do a good job and you don’t steal from your employer, that that is a witness for Christ and you’ll be rewarded for that.

It’s quite an interesting passage but just let me read this to you. It says servants or that would be employees. This is a Ephesians 6 verse 5, servants or employees be obedient to them that are your masters, that is your employer, according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, as in singleness of your heart as unto the Christ, not with eyeservice, as been pleasers, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart. It says, with good will, doing service as to the Lord, and not to men, knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth the same shall he receive of the Lord whether he be bond or Basically, it’s saying God’s going to reward you for that.

Here it talks about some of the things you mentioned here that Carol talks about knowing that whatever good any man do it, the same shall we receive in the Lord whether he be a slave or a free man. Just about almost anything you do during the day. If you do it as unto the Lord and you’re seeking to please him as you live your life and live it honestly and your good testimony, God is going to reward you. You may not like your boss, you may not like your work environment and maybe you’d like to get out of there, but if you are a good employee and you do a good job and you just realize that you’re really serving Christ, that He’s your real employer, He will reward you and compensate you for any losses that you’ve had here and you’ll be rewarded greatly in

heaven. So I think to just get up every day and say, Lord, I’m living this day for you. And I’m going to do my very best to live in according to the Bible and to be a witness as best as I can to the principles taught in the Bible and to share with others as I have opportunity. The Gospel of Christ is obviously the icing on the cake. But God is going to reward you for anything you do. giving a cup of water to somebody who’s thirsty in the name of Christ is a powerful, powerful witness.

Thank you. We’re now going to go to Angel in St. Petersburg, and by the way that phone number is 1-800-576-3771, but Angel, welcome to Bible On Your On The Earth. How are you doing Angel? Dr. Hank Lindstrom is regarding the doctrine of Calvinism. I just really want to introduce you to give me an explanation why you don’t believe it. I reject that teaching, but if you can give me your explanation on that, why you don’t believe it, just simply come and say hang up and listen to you.

Alright. Alright, well very good. Calvinism, really as it is taught, doesn’t match up with scripture. There are five points of Calvinism that are generally expressed. They’re usually remembered by the acronym QULUB. The first one is TotalblogsPredi, which I believe that we’re all depraved, that we’re….”tif 70710 sin passed upon the whole human race. But in Calvinism they say that you are spiritually dead, which is true, and that you as a spiritually dead person depraved and sinful, that you cannot even believe.

And so according to the Bible, we can And you is it says you can’t even believe a dead man can’t do anything. But guess what? The Bible says, for example, don’t need to be careful of the safety of your victim. I’ve done in John’s Gospel, chapter 5, that dead man can believe. It says in verse 25, Jesus says, an issue for a victim.

He’s been doing these are His words, not mine. Verily, verily I say unto you, the hour is coming, and now is, the same thing as his son. when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God, and they that here shall live. He’s been doing the same thing as your son. In other words, a person can hear who is spiritually dead. The words of Christ, the words of the He’s been doing the same thing.

scriptures and believe the gospel and become saved. So Calvinism says you can’t believe that you’re SolidGoldMagikarp and you cannot even believe so God has to give you faith. The second point of Calvinism, the you and tulip means unconditional election and that means that God does not choose you to be saved on the basis of your works. But Calvinism teaches not even on the basis of faith, that we’re not saved by faith, we’re saved by God choosing to save who he wants to save and those that he wants to send to hell, he sends to hell with disregard to belief.

But the Bible doesn’t teach that. The Bible teaches that God chooses to save people based upon belief. If you look at 1 Thessalonians 1, 1 Thessalonians 1 and says in verse 2, in verse 13, and what a great verse this one is, is the second Thessalonians by the way in chapter 2, in verse We are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren. We love the Lord because God has from the beginning chosen you to salvation. The Calvinist usually stops reading right there.

But it says from the beginning God has chosen you to salvation through and then it’s a sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth. So God chooses the safety of Him based upon their belief of the truth. But if you’re a Calvinist, the Calvinist says no, God chooses you, you, saves you, and then you believe as a consequence and not as a result of anything else. And then thirdly is limited atonement. The Calvinist teaches that Christ only died for the elect or for the believer, and that’s simply just not true.

If you look at 1 John 2, 2, it says that Jesus is the propitiation. That means the satisfying sacrifice for our sins. It says, and not for our sins also, but for the sins of the whole world. So the Bible is very clear that Christ died for everybody, but the Calvinist is wrong in saying that he only died for the one that God chose to save. And then of course they say the eye and tulip stands for irresistible grace that when God has chosen somebody with disregard to everything that he comes on him with his grace and his grace is not resistable, and therefore he is overcome and he becomes saved against his will.

And of course that is not true either if you read the book of Acts. When Stephen was preaching, Stephen said to his crowd that he preached to here that killed him a little bit later. He says in verse 51, he stiff decked and uncircumcised and hearted nearest. You do always resist the Holy Spirit. So here the Holy Spirit was resisted. Calvin says the Holy Spirit cannot be resisted. The last point of course of Calvinism is the P or the perseverance of the Saints and it’s the eternal security point but they twisted around because I’m eternally secure, not because I persevere but because Christ perseveres because he lives forever to make good on the promises name.

But a Calvinist will bring works into the back door by saying if you’re truly saved, You will find your life improving and changing in an upward way throughout your whole life. The Bible doesn’t teach that either. You have Christians, for example, like a lot whose life went negatively, down, down, down, down, down, lived in the city of Sodom and obviously had no testimony. His life winds up in ruin in a cave in a little town named Zor, his two daughters getting drunk and have sex with him and have children bind his life with a total mess.

He is an example of a believer because Peter says in his epistle that Lot was a righteous man, not because of his deeds, but because of his faith in Christ. He was declared righteous. Obviously we will see lot in heaven, but he wasn’t the example that a Christian ought to be as far as a Christian life. Basically that’s the answer is the way I reject all five points of Calvinism. I believe that they are all inconsistent with scripture. So it’s a man-made doctrine.

By the way, I have a five CD series just on election and predestination, or I go over the hard verses that they will try to bring up to you, and that’s available for gift of $25, and it will really help you, I think. So I hope that helps you, Angel, a little bit. That was a quick summary. And Angel, it must not stop me there. I couldn’t find him there. We’re now going to go to Patrick up in Richmond, Virginia, and Patrick, welcome to Bibleline I had a question on them.

I heard a question about the rapture. I just wanted to know, could you clarify that up for me because I was listening. I didn’t know it. I was trying to get a idea of what it is. Sure, I’ll be happy to. The rapture is described in 1 Thessalonians chapter chapter 4 verses 13 through 18. And there it talks about a group of people that will be living when Christ returns, that will never experience death, that will simply be caught up to meet the Lord in the air.

And it says it in verse 17 of 1 Thessalonians chapter It says that we which remain in our lives. So you’re still alive in your body when Christ comes and shouts in the upper atmosphere. And it says those which remain in our lives will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. The word caught up or the phrase caught up is the meaning of the word rapture. The word rapture does not occur in your Bible, but I think it’s better than it doesn’t.

Because most people don’t know what the word rapture means and they’d have to go to the dictionary and look it up. But it means caught up. Here the Bible says it will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. So it’s pretty clear that a group of people will meet the Lord in the air. It’s when we get our brand new bodies and it says from that point we’ll ever be with the Lord. And these are words of comfort to believers who are living in this world that we could be caught up to meet the Lord in the air.

But in any case, the previous verses, if we’ve already died as a believer, we’re going to get our resurrection bodies at that event. But there will be a group right at the very end of the age, which could happen at any time. I think we’re very close. We’ll meet the Lord up in the air. Hope that helps. Yeah. When you say which chapter was it? 1st Thessalonians 4, 13-18. What’s 13? Chapter 4 verses 13-18. 1st Thessalonians. Very much. You’re welcome Patrick.

Thank you so very much. Okay. We now have John in Chesterfield Virginia and John welcome to Bible in your own year Hey, that’s a hang. Yeah, and one and one to ask you this question for months But could never get tired before you and it you got your Bible handy. I do all right captain 13 in the book of Luke verse 4 of of those eighteen upon whom the tower in chalom fell and flew them thank you that they were sent us above all men that dwell in juries if he said those eighteen were all saved oh no no no no but what he’s talking about there is that the people who had read about that terrible tragedy where the tower fell upon him he says in the middle of the verse think ye think ye think ye that they were sent us above all men

and their thinking was wrong. So he tells them to repent, which means to change your mind, and realize that they weren’t. In other words, the people that were reading that were self-righteous and saying, I’m a good person. And I wasn’t there when that tower fell and I wasn’t killed by it because I’m a good person. But those people probably were nasty dirty sinners and got allowed that power to fall on them because they got what they deserved. And here Christ This is speaking to religious self-righteous people and said you need to repent or change your mind and realize that you are also a sinner, equally deserving of punishment.

And unless you change your mind and recognize that you are a sinner, you will also perish. We need to recognize that we need a Savior and change your mind about our condition that we are not eligible to enter heaven by anything that we do but we need a Savior, we need Christ. he’s telling us. To change our minds just as he told those people who are thinking was wrong. Do you think that they were sinners above all men? The answer is no.

He says, I tell you nay and accept you change your mind and recognize your own true condition before God. You will obviously perish. So when the world trades on a fail and all those 3000 people were killed, we don’t know whether they were saved or sinners, right? No, we don’t, not at all. But I’m sure there were many of those that were believers and they’re with the Lord today and tragically for those of us who are not. he died without christ there forever lost right thank you so much for answering that question i read my mind for months okay well that you called in thank you so much thank you so much okay and uh…

that was from uh… just to feel virginia with john we know we’re going to go to uh… charles in st peterburg charles welcome to my when you’re on the land charles you’re on the air Okay, my question is, please explain for me chapter 24 of Matthew. Matthew 24 verse 14. Okay. 14 and 15 really. Really 15 and 16. The whole chapter. It’s like 17, too. Alright, well, in 1924 we have Christ being asked the question what would be the sign of His coming, any outlines or number of things that will happen after the rapture during the tribulation that precedes His second coming.

The rapture and the second coming are not the same event, and the rapture is when Christ catches us out and ends the church age which began at Pentecost, and then the seven years there are the last seven years of the Old Testament that when concluded will bring about Christ’s return out of heaven to actually rule physically on this earth as King from Jerusalem. And during the tribulation period it says in verse 14, and this gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached.

Now the gospel of the Kingdom is not the message that I’m preaching right now. The message of the gospel of the grace of God is what we are to be preaching, that’s the message of salvation from hell to heaven. But the gospel of the kingdom is the good news that the kingdom is about to be established. That message was preached when Christ was here the first time and was the message that the kingdom was at hand and it could have been established at any time if the Jewish people had only accepted Christ as their king.

But we find that Christ was rejected and that message was abandoned and it will not be He preached again until the tribulation period and we know that many millions of Jews will trust Christ as their Savior and they will accept Him as their King and He will come back in the set of His Kingdom here on the earth. Verse 15 is talking about the Antichrist when he goes into the third temple that will be rebuilt right after the Rapture and he desecrates the temple, stops the sacrifices that will been resumed and places his image in the temple.

It’s called the Abomination of Desolation. And it’s a warning here to those Jews that are living in the tribulation period that they are to flee, run for the mountains, to get out of Jerusalem. And that’s because the Antichrist will turn against the Jews and try to kill as many as he possibly can. And we believe that Jews will flee over into the country of Jordan to the Rock City of Petra where they’ll be safe during the last three and a half years of the tribulation period until Christ comes back and then he’ll gather them and leave them out of there back to Israel.

Hope that helps a little bit. Did I miss anything? And I think he must have hung up. Hopefully that helps a little bit and thank you for that call. We now have Larry in Mason, Michigan and Larry, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. I’ve been listening to you this morning and talking about the mind of my daughter’s learning to play the piano hard and so and it brought to mind something, the correlation and interlith relation of the heart and the soul and the brain and the body.

And there’s our… I’m just wondering, when the Philippines 2-2 says, let this mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus. And it made me think that there are correlations and interlodations. And the brain is going to be in the grave someday. So will the heart send the body short of the rapture. But even then it will be transformed. But if it’s solely the brain or solely the blood pump, there’s something missing there. Um Well, I agree with you, Larry.

Obviously, when we lose this body, we’ll still exist, and truly it is our soul, that we’ll carry along with the memories of this world and so on that we’ll carry on into eternity. the real you and me and the body is the means by which those bits of information about our physical realm are fed into the soul and is the spirit that allows spiritual information to be fed into our soul and the soul and the spirit are the immaterial part of our bodies or rather our makeup that will carry on into eternity and will get a brand new body, a physical body at the time of the resurrection when we’re in heaven.

But we are body, soul and spirit. And so the physical brain is going to obviously be put into grave as you said, plus the physical heart would put into grave. But we’re going to get a new body. And obviously since we continue on and have memory and everything else as we find the rich man who died in Luke 16 and Lazarus the beggar who died. They had conscious memory and were fully aware of their situation even though they had lost their physical bodies and their brain and so on.

That’s a good point and you’re absolutely right to bring some clarity to that for us. Thank you so much Larry and we now are going to George in St. Petersburg. Dr. Eric Jores welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Yes. I wanted to get something out of the painting. Well obviously the Bible teaches that women are not… are not usurped the authority over the man in spiritual matters. It tells us that in 1 Timothy, if you have your Bible there, you can look it up for yourself.

But in 1 Timothy chapter 1, and let me chapter 2, rather, is a great, clear passage about this whole thing. It says, In my Bible, in years as well, I’m sure, verse 11, let the women learn in silence with all subjection, verse 12 says, but I suffer or allow not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. So it’s quite clear here that the woman is not to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

So I believe that women preachers and women elders and deacons are all forbidden in the Bible. That God could have chosen six women apostles, but he didn’t. He chose twelve men as apostles. The first deacons that were chosen in Acts 6 were all men. He didn’t choose three women and four men or four women and three men. were all seven deacons there chosen that were men and throughout the Bible this is God’s intention and there are two reasons why given here and it says in verse 13 of 1 Timothy chapter 2 for Adam was first formed in Eve so that was the first reason God’s order was that he created Adam first so Adam was given the spiritual headship and responsibility not Eve.

Secondly it says here Eve was deceived, Adam was not deceived back there in the garden. So women apparently, as they are made differently than men, think more emotionally, men think more factually. And so women therefore are more easily deceived as they think more emotionally. And you’ll see that with a number of the cults being started by women, the Seventh-day Adventist with LNG White. Obviously they think with their heart, they just can’t imagine a hell. So LNG White said there is no hell.

You’ll find that Mary Baker Eddie of the Christian scientists, she said there’s no hell. She couldn’t imagine that. So in her book, The Key to Science and Health in the Scriptures, she says that that’s an error in the Bible. That’s not to believe that, that there is a hell. I just got a letter this morning from a listener in California and he says that God has redeemed all of us. Do not promote the pagan hell. Hades is right out of the Egyptian mythology.

We do not choose to go there like so many teach. If you’re teaching hell I would ask you to stop dragging God’s love through the mud. I’d be blessed to know that he is God. And even over theology and garbage that is being taught. So here’s a man named Gary out in California who tells me that everybody’s going to be saved and nobody’s going to hear the hell that there is no hell and I need to stop preaching on hell.

Well obviously the Bible teaches hell and it predates everything else. So obviously from the very beginning of the Bible, the Bible talks about an eternity in hell for those that are lost and the Bible teaches in the Old Testament that the soul would never die and the fire would never be quenched and Jesus says the same thing in the New Testament about those who die without Christ, they’ll be forever lost. And so obviously we have to appeal to the scriptures which we believe our gods were.

Well we’re out of time, I’ve had a good time today with you, I hope you’ve enjoyed the program, I hope everybody listening is trusted Jesus as their Savior. If you haven’t, do it right now. Just tell a little more Lord on the center, but I trust that Jesus made the full payment for my sin was veered and rose again from the dead and you trust Him and God saves you. We’ve got to run, but we’ll be back tomorrow and I hope you’ll join me then.

Keep looking up and we believe Jesus is coming soon. You’ve been listening to Bibleline, a presentation of Bibleline Ministries of Tampa, Florida.
