All the major roads lead to the airport, and we’re right on the west side, a block west of the main north-south runway. We’re so close to the airport many times I feel like I can reach out and slap those airplanes. That’s right. We’re right next to the airport. So I’m telling you that so that if you get more than a block or so away from the airport, you can know you’re making a mistake. You want to hug the airport on the west, and there we are, a block west of the main permanent road which runs north and south on the west of the airport.
And we’re on George Road, midway between Memorial and Hillsborough. And we hope that you’ll come by and see us. If you come by on Sunday, we will have the wards up on the first Sunday of the month, which will be this coming Sunday. You’re coming you’re coming from a distance, that’s the great day to come because you can get fed before you go back home and I hope you will.
We’re talking about another trip next February to Israel. If you want to go to Israel, it will be trip number 16 for me. It’s life transforming because you’re studying the Bible on the spot where everything happened and we do that from morning to night. It’s a wonderful experience and that will be February next year. us your name and phone number and information and we’ll send you a brochure as soon as we settle on everything and get those brochures in our hands.
We also want you to know that we have finished our second Peter, our series on second Peter and it’s 10 hours of teaching. It’s available on CV, it’s also available on DVD for a little bit more and a lot of people are enjoying this series already. We had a great time and it’s a book that the devil doesn’t want you to know about. Second Peter is hated by liberal scholarship and by, I’m sure, Satan as he reveals in time information that’s important for you and me to be able to deal with the issues that we’re facing right now.
Wow, what a crazy world we’re living in. You want help? Turn to Second Peter and if you would like to get our CD series or our DVD series, I think it will be really quite a wonderful study. You can use it to facilitate a Bible study, a Sunday school class, a home Bible study, or your personal study, or use the CDs in your cars to go to and fro from work or wherever you might be. We’re excited about being with you today.
We’re going to turn to our Bibles, and if you have your Bible, you might want to turn there with me, and then we’ll take our callers. We’re already having people calling and you can call in at 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. I got an email yesterday from Kampala, Uganda, and a fellow rights entity says, thanks. So we have people catching this program on the internet around the world, 156 countries have logged in and we’re excited about a listener over there in Kampala, Uganda, who writes in by email and that’s exciting.
So pray for us, we’re excited about what God is doing through Bibleline and through the different avenues that we can reach out to a lost and dying world. Well, open up your Bible with me if you would and we’re going to turn to John’s Gospel, chapter 1, verse 12. It’s a wonderful verse and it tells us here as many as received Him to them God gave power or authority for them to become the sons of God. You know, what a great verse it is on salvation and it’s amazing to me how that sometimes all the phrases we hear all of our life and the teachings that we hear that aren’t really connected to the Bible seem to override verses like this.
I heard a wonderful Bible teacher on the air and he was on the radio and he was concluding his program and he came to the gospel and he said, it’s not too late for you to be saved. He says right now you could give your heart or your life to Christ and be saved. I thought, how could that happen? Here’s a pretty bright fellow. I really got a blessing out of his Bible teaching and here he comes to the gospel and turns it completely around.
What did he say? He said, it’s not too late for you to be saved. You can right now give your heart to Jesus and be saved. Guess what? If you look at John 1-12, you’ll find that the plan of salvation in the Bible is the exact opposite of that. It says in John 1-12, but as many as received Him to them, God gave power or authority for them to become the sons of God. In other words, the Bible is very clear that God is the giver and that we’re the receivers.
But once a preacher says, or if you say, when you’re telling people how to be saved, your life. He said, you know, John gave his heart to Jesus a number of years ago and blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. And I said, well, that’s wonderful, but giving your heart to Jesus doesn’t get you saved, giving your life to Jesus doesn’t get you saved. his heart that Jesus a number of years ago and blah blah blah blah blah blah and I said well that’s wonderful but giving your heart to Jesus doesn’t get you saved giving your life to Jesus doesn’t get you saved because that makes you the Savior you’re giving God something and God becomes the receiver when wherever you look in the Bible God is the giver and we’re the receivers think about John 3 16 with me for just a moment for
God soul of the world that he gave, he gave, he gave, he gave, his only begotten son. That whosoever what, believe it, when we believe, we receive the payment that Jesus made for us holding the cross by receiving Christ. And this wonderful verse that we’re looking at right now in John 1.12 says, as many as received him Christ. Salvation is in a person, it’s not in a set of commandments, it’s not in a set of rules, it’s not in a denomination or a church, it’s not in an organization, it’s in Jesus Himself.
And when you receive Jesus, Him, God grants authority. He gives you the authority to become one of His children and you receive everlasting life and you become born again. Wherever you look, Romans 6, 23 says the gift of God is eternal life. The gift of God is eternal life. The gift of God is eternal life. Whose gift is it? It’s God’s gift. God is the giver. We’re the receivers. The gift of God is eternal life. It says through Jesus Christ our Lord.
The gift of God is eternal life. Not through us doing anything, but by faith receiving what God has done for us at the cross of Calvary. If you look at Ephesians 2 and it says, by grace, by mercy, on Meredith Taver, are Are you saved through faith? That is faith in Jesus Christ. And that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. It is the gift of God. It is the gift of God. It is the gift of God.
Ephesians 2.8. 1 John 5.11 says, this is the record that God hath given, that God hath given, that God hath given, that God hath given, that God hath given, that God hath given eternal life. And this life is in his Son. He that has the Son has life, he that has not the Son of God has not life. And then God goes on to say in verse 13 of 1 John 5, it says, These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God that you may know, not hope not, yes, not perhaps not maybe, you can actually know that you have everlasting life.
Wow, isn’t that great news? So as I heard that radio preacher preach, he did a great job, great mess Then he got to the invitation and totally told his audience the very opposite of what the Bible taught. And I thought, how can that happen? Point of the devil is good, isn’t he? The devil knows how to change that message to a message that will not save. And that is really a tragedy. But in John 1 12, it tells me in my Bible, as many as received him Christ to them God gave.
were the receivers when you tell someone to give you a life or give you a heart to Christ, you become the giver, God becomes the receiver. That’s the opposite, that’s the opposite of what the Bible teaches and is completely out of phase with the scripture. It’s 180 degrees the opposite direction and how can that happen? Maybe you’ve used that phrase. I have Christian people that I bump into and I hear it often and they’ll say oh yes my my my aunt gave her heart to Christ and blah blah blah blah and they refer to that incident as being the means by which they became saved.
My friend you’re not saved by giving anything to God whether it’s your heart your liver your kidney your thyroid Here, adenoids are your tonsils. We don’t give God anything to be saved. God doesn’t need anything that we have. He’s the giver. God’s all of the world He gave His Son. When you believe on Christ, you receive that wonderful gift of everlasting life. I hope you’ve done that. I’m Dr. Englund, from The Sub-Bible, and we’re going to go right to the phone lines.
We have a caller down in my Emmy. We have Scott waiting, and Scott, we welcome you to the Bible and program. You’re on the air. Hello, Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Yes, Scott. You’re doing good. I really appreciate your ministry. I wanted to ask my first question is I’m trying to figure out how those are saved before Christ. I remember they. If you’d also help me with like from Adam’s time up to. I don’t know if you have any versions. Well, absolutely.
The Bible tells us that everybody who’s ever been saved has been saved by someone trusting Christ as Savior. And Peter gives us that answer in Acts 10, 43, you might want to write it down. But in Acts 10, 43, Peter says to him, that is Jesus, or from the Hebrew Yeshua, that is God who would save you, the Messiah, the Savior, the one that was promised by the prophets, Yeshua, Yeshua occurs in the Old Testament over 130 times and you’ll find that Peter says in Acts 10, 43, to Yeshua or in English Jesus, give all the prophets witness.
Now the prophets are the writers of the Old Testament and he says all the prophets give witness to Jesus or Yeshua that through his name Yeshua or Jesus, who’s to ever believe within him, that is, Yeshua or Jesus, shall receive the remission of their sins. So Peter in one verse sweeps across the whole Old Testament and tells us that everybody that was ever saved was saved by faith in Christ. You know, it says there in Hebrews 11-4, by faith able.
You know, Abel brought a lamb as a sacrifice and that was a testimony of the fact that he believed in the Lamb of God that would come one day and die on the cross of Calvary for your sins and mine and for able sins as well. And when he offered up that Lamb, the Bible says in Hebrews 11-4, he obtained witness that he was righteous. So he was made righteous when he believed on the Lord Jesus Christ and then offered up that sacrifice as a testimonial of the fact that he was made righteous by faith and faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ.
I hope that helps a little bit, but that’s a great verse. And he asked 1043 summarizes the whole testament for us. Now that’s great. And I didn’t have an understanding that they helped. And all right, so I guess my other question is basically, I understand it. Well, I’m trying to compare it basically. So for example, I have others who, you know, they do everything not fully believing that by it. Sir, we’ll say that as a regulations on refers to the laws gene making, or why may Santa Lithuanians trust in the wealth of God.
Of all nations, all nations trust in the honour of your goodness. But the other certainty is that fixed Well, you know, saving faith is faith in Christ. And when you are trusting in Christ plus or Christ minus, you’re not going to be saved. You have to trust Christ in Christ alone. Romans 4, 5, just a couple of verses, and I would just confront them with these verses and ask them to explain them to you because they’re so clear that you really can’t go wrong Romans 4-5 says to him that work if not, that means that he does not work, but he believes on Christ who justifies him godly.
His faith in Christ is counted for righteousness. In the previous couple of verses there, it tells us that the scripture tells us about Abraham and his experience, and it says, what did Abraham discover as concerning his works there in Romans chapter 4 and it says if Abraham were justified by works verse 2 he would have where of the glory but not before God but not before God. And so that is interesting. And then this is what’s in the scripture and then it quotes how Abraham was saved by faith.
It says what’s in the scripture and it quotes Genesis 15 and 6 to Abraham, believe God. Not believed in God but believe God and what God told him about the promise Savior Jesus and Abraham believed that promise and he was saved. Feasance 289 or two other good ones, by grace are he saved through faith, and none of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, not of works, as any man should boast. As long as somebody is working to be saved, they will not be saved.
That’s my favorite scripture and I can’t understand it for life on me why they don’t accept it. And now my last question because I know you have a lot of guys in one. Do you have any theological books coming up? I have a book in the final stages. It should be off the press shortly and so I hope we can soon announce that on Bibleline and make you get it. Thank you so much. I really appreciate your ministry. Okay Scott, thank you in Miami, Florida and we’re saved by Faith Alone.
God is the giver. We’re the receivers when you trust Christ. You’re safe forever. We have Bill in Pinellas Park and Bill, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Good. I just say before that he 2039 said that we are not the call. call anybody father and you are not a real father and my question and in the book sixteen twenty four when they’re talking about uh… it says that you cried out father a brand have mercy on me so my question is why would they call a brand father when the bible says you shouldn’t call anybody on earth your father yeah well here we have the uh…
physical lineage of Lazarus their last Landreth was a descendant of the Jewish nation and Abraham was the father of that nation. And so he truly is their physical father. So I mean obviously there’s no problem with calling. He was a great great great great great great great great great grandfather but he was the father of all the Jewish people and so he had gotten saved and now was with his fathers in the sense that all those generations that had believed on Christ were there also in paradise when he arrived.
But we’re talking about a spiritual father. There’s only really one heavenly father, and that’s the point that Jesus was making there, that we really have one God and one eternal God, the Father that we’re to look to, and not to put men in that position of God, but rather men can represent God to us or present God to us and be witnesses of the Lord, but they should not be called Father in that sense. So I hope that makes a distinction there for you.
Okay, and then also I heard you say before on the term brethren that’s saved people. And this and the… And reading in Genesis 19 and 7. Well not there, but as Paul and James and other writers of the New Testament epistles, they’re We’re talking to those that are brethren in the sense that they’ve been born again into the family of God and we’re all brothers and sisters in what have you family. When you’re reading back in Genesis you’re probably reading about family members and even in the New Testament if you read in the gospels it talks about Christ brethren and he had four brothers that were his brothers or brethren and so you have to just read the context to make sure you’re talking about the right thing.
In the epistles definitely the writers Paul and James and others are writing to the believers which they all address them as brethren because they’re all in the same family by the new birth and were brothers and sisters Yeah, he’s just doing a general term that obviously He’s talking to the people there in in Sodom which were lost and they certainly were not saved people that didn’t imply that they were. Okay. And I’ll ask a question here. I hear you talk a lot on John 639 as a salvation verse.
And I kind of agree there, but my question I guess would be if I go wordish right, how does a person tell when one scripture has more than one mean? And in the sense that on John 639, he says, this is the will of my father who sent me that of all he is. It’s not me like that script who is referring to his disciples and not for everybody else. Okay, hold on a second. I have to say goodbye to Miami.
Thank you for tuning in today. Keep tuning us in every day. Don’t forget to watch us on Channel 367 on direct TV tonight at 6 30 Eastern time Well, I had to break away just to say goodbye to Miami as they break away early before other stations But Jesus didn’t lose any now. He refers there to to Judas, but Judas was never saved as being one of his disciples that would not continue into eternity with him, but otherwise every believer would not be lost or not be cast out once you’re saved, you’re saved forever.
And he’s the one that keeps us saved. Yeah, but that John, 18-9, it says of those when you gave me I’ve lost none but that he’s talking there about his disciples. Right. Right. But also, if you’ll notice in John 6, though, it’s much more encompassing in these, it’s the Father as well, that he would not lose any of those that have been given to him or those that have come to him. And so if you’ve come to him, you’re in that category, and so you’ll never be lost.
And if you don’t like that, there’s hundreds of other verses that say you can’t be lost once you become saved. You know, if you look at Ephesians 1, 13, it says, every believer, upon belief is sealed with the Holy Spirit, and you’re sealed until you’re actually in heaven standing on heaven’s ground and you’re there with the Lord forever. So it’s impossible to be lost. Right. Bye. Thank you Bill. I got a run here at this first half hour lease.
We’re going to take our break and come back into a second half hour and we’ll catch our other cars that are waiting and maybe we’ll get some offer questions in today. We hope that you’ll tune in to Bibleline each and every day. If you haven’t given a gift to Bibleline we can really use your help. It seems like with the way of the economy as we just need everybody’s help here to keep us on the air in all the areas where we are and we’re thanking God that God has opened up great doors for us and we need your prayers and your gifts and if you’d call and give a gift by credit card today that’d be great.
God bless you, we’ll be right back to a second and a half hours so stay tuned. Don’t go away, Bibleline will be back in a moment. us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. Englund. It’s great to be with you today. Thanks again for tuning in to the broadcast. And we look forward to being with you each and every day. We’re excited about the fact that we’re able to be with you five days a week. And then on the internet, we’re on their seven days a week 24 hours a day.
So if you go to the internet site you can catch our programs as often as you like again and again and again and again. What’s neat is there’s lots of things there on that website that if you go you can download those programs in the mp3 format for your iPod. You can sign up for the webcasting it doesn’t cost you anything where they’ll send that radio program automatically to your computer every day. You can take advantage of all these things and watch our television programs, watch our worship services, and even catch them live on Sunday morning, if you would like, and that would be dynamite.
So take advantage of that. We also want you to know that we are listening to support, and we hate to talk about money, but in order to be out there on the air as we are, it requires that we pay the stations, and we don’t pay any salary. So we have been able to move out there pretty far with a very low budget. And thanks to you that listened and the gift, we have been able to stay on the air everywhere.
And we don’t want that to change. So we could use your help right now. And if you could give a gift to Bible, it would be greatly appreciated. All you have to do is call the 800 number and tell the operators you’d like to give a gift and they’ll help you with that. Also, if you want to mail it, you can ask them for an envelope to be sent, and we’ll send you an envelope with our address on it.
Mail your gift to Bibleline, and we want to thank you in advance for your prayers and for your gifts and for keeping us on the air. You guys are the heroes of the Bibleline program, and we appreciate each and every one of you. We want you to tell your friends about the program and help us expand our audience, and if you have friends overseas or in other parts of the country, tell them as well, because if they have internet access, they can watch and listen to my blind from anywhere in the world.
As I said, I just got an email here from Compalate Uganda in Africa, Central Africa, and the fellow says, thanks, thanks, thanks. Thanks for my mind. So we’re praising the Lord that God is giving us an audience around the world and so far 156 countries have logged on. And that’s by the grace of God. That’s wonderful. And we’re excited about that. And we have people all over the world and all over the U.S. that are catching Bible. Bible and it’s thanks to you that pray for us and give the Bible and make that possible.
Here we’re going to go into our second half now Bible has to stay tuned. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. wonderful to be with you. Thanks for tuning in today to the Bibleline program. And I’m just so glad that I’m saved and a heavy turn of life that I can know I’m going to heaven and the Bible teaches that you can actually know that while you’re living before you ever die.
That really is an exciting experience to be assured that whenever you would die that you would go to heaven to be with the Lord and we want people to know that good news message It is a gift, it is free, it is received by faith and kept by God forever for you so you can never become lost. That is the basis of an effective Christian, one who knows that they are saved. Paul didn’t say, I hope I am saved.
Paul said, I know and I am persuaded that neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities nor things present or things to come nor height nor death or any other creature or creation. be able to separate me from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus. Nothing can undo what God does at the moment of the new birth. And for that moment on you become saved eternally. This is Thursday and tonight we’ll be on Direct TV, Channel 367 at 630 Easter Standard Time.
You can catch that anywhere on the North American continent if you have Direct TV. Just go to Channel 367 and you’ll get our weekly television program and that’s nationwide all over the North American continent. We get calls all the way from Alaska, all over the West Coast, all the way across America to the East Coast, from Canada, and also down in the Caribbean. So anybody that has direct TV can catch us. And I think that’s about 25 million potential viewers can catch our Bibleline program.
Catch up to the end of on DirectTV. Then of course in the Tampa Bay Area, Bibleline is on the air here on the local station for all seven days. So we’re on 10 o’clock every day, eastern standard time all across the Tampa Bay Area, seven days a week. We’re excited about a station in North Adams, Massachusetts. We’re on an FM station there and we are on twice a day and we’re excited about that. We’re on at 9 in the morning and 9 o’clock at night and we’re excited about hearing that there are people enjoying a Bibleline in Massachusetts as well as we’re in New York and Pennsylvania and Virginia and Tennessee and we’re on in Michigan and all over Florida here in Jacksonville, the land Florida, Miami, Florida and the west coast of Florida here center, so to Florida and and pray for by one as we continue to reach out.
We are listeners supported, and if you’re one of our regular listeners, we appeal to you to help us stay on the air because it is your gifts that keep us going. And we don’t pay any salary, so we are able to do a lot with what God gives us, but we do need to have your help so that we don’t ever have to cut a station anywhere where we’re on the air. So would you pray about getting a gift to Bibleline?
We really are not trying your money. We want to get the gospel out. And I believe that you will be made richer in heaven as you give and invest to Bibleline because God is doing great things through us. I hear it Bibleline and you’re as a partner would share equally with us, I think in whatever rewards or fruit that we would have. That’s a biblical principle all the way through know, testament, even when Israel went out to war. Those who stayed at home to keep care of the fields, the crops, the animals, the families, and so on, when they came home if they won the war, would share in the spoils of that war.
And so I believe that every believer who participates by prayer and gifts to a ministry will share in the rewards of that ministry. And we covet your prayers and we certainly hope that you’ll help by the line to take care of those needs every month. Thank you in advance. God bless you. We’re going to go to the phone lines. We’ve got a call right now from Maine and Chris or rather Massachusetts. Chris in Boston, Massachusetts is calling in and Chris, thank you for your patience and waiting to be on the air.
Hello, Dr. Limson. How are you? Good. I am actually just two quick questions, but my first question is I have some Christian friends of mine and We all you know to discuss different things Look of Christ and what some my friends believe that during the lost years quote-unquote lost years of Jesus that he migrated Eastwards towards India and Southeast Asian they usually bring up the flatly deny it They don’t have any evidence against it, but they just don’t believe it and I was wondering if you heard of that and where do you stand on that?
Yeah, I’ve heard all that. That’s a complete nonsense. I think the Bible is quite clear that he stayed at home and worked in his father’s carpenter shop in Nazareth until he became thirty. And that’s when he launched his ministry. He didn’t have to go anywhere to learn anything from anybody. He’s gone. And as gone, he is omniscient. And obviously those are the claims that he makes. In fact, as you read through the gospels, you’ll find that there are verses that are popping out all the time that Christ was never caught by, surprised, never caught off guard, but fully knew exactly what his purpose was from the get-go from when he came into this world and knew that he was going to go to the cross and die to pay for the sins of the world.
One interesting passage is, let me just, I need another Bible here, do you have one? I have an old Bible I was using and there was a few pages missing there that had fallen on it, isn’t that interesting? The passage I was going to turn to was not available to me. Here we go to John 18 for example. Here we have the betrayal and the garden of Gethsemane and we have here that Judas in In verse 3 of chapter 18 of John, receives a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees and he can them with fither, with lanterns and torches and weapons.
In verse 4 it says, Jesus therefore caught totally by surprise, ran to the back of the garden, hid under a big olive tree. No, it doesn’t say that. Excuse me, I heard that wrong in my chris. It says, Jesus therefore knowing all things that should come upon him went forth and said into them. Jesus at no time was caught off guard or surprised by anybody. He’s got it. And so all that sounds. The lost books of the Bible and these other books are pure fantasy.
If you read the book called The Impency of Jesus, it has Jesus as a little child playing out in the mud puddle with the other kids in the neighborhood and they’re building their mud cakes and he fashions little sparrows and breathes life into them and they fly away. One of the stories tells us that one of the kids made a mud ball and threw it and hit Jesus in the face. Jesus got mad and cursed a little kid and he was withered up and then the next scene you have the parents of the little withered boy dragging their withered son over to Mary and Joseph and say look what your son did to my son, get your son Jesus to fix him.
Well, you know, you read that stuff and you just have to laugh. It’s like, you know, this is not scripture and you can read that stuff. It’s just a lot of nonsense. I’ve read all that stuff and I don’t buy an anything. That’s just the devil trying to mess with people’s minds. But Jesus is the God who took on flesh. Yep. And Dr. Lintz, my second question is, I guess it’s more practical, but living in this world today, it’s so materialistic, so secular.
You know, when I’ve watched TV or watch movies, sometimes I cringe because I’m not sure if I should be watching certain things. I mean, even if it seems the most harmless, I guess, it’s a certain program. I’m not sure if I should just completely eradicate that for my life or watch things and just try to take the good out of it and omit the bad, so to speak. You know, because you could say there’s violence everywhere or sometimes you don’t want to be caught up in too much of anything.
And I don’t know if you generally… I’m watching less and less. I don’t know. I react when I see those things. Every time I hear a nasty word or see something that I really believe I shouldn’t have seen, it just like jolts my whole body. I just feel like, why did I see that? And I think, you know, I just try to watch and keep current with things that are going on in this world. But I realize I don’t need a lot of more of that, I mean less of that, more of God’s word.
And as you read the Word of God, it just is so refreshing, so wonderful. And I’m learning new things from the Bible every day, and I’ve been studying the Bible for a lifetime. And it’s just an exciting adventure. Because this book is beyond all of us, and it certainly has things for us to discover. There are passages I’ve read, and I get new things out of them. It sets a depth to the Word of God that’s just phenomenal. And there’s a joy that as God reveals things to you that you know you’re really in committing your connection here with the living God.
It’s exciting. Absolutely. And Doc, I must say that I do love, I mean I love reading the Bible also when I’m in the morning and even when I come back from school. But I also love listening to your program every day because I do find that even the way we know i i do get a lot of joy out of that well thank you chris and glad you’re able to hear me up there in boston messages thank you sir all right keep listening and that was uh…
christin uh… boston uh… massages we have james now in seminal florida and jane welcome to buy more in your honor good morning sir good morning uh… one of the uh… points that uh… folks that oppose the preteress say uh… to oppose it say that there is no early church writings on the route and be able to fact that the Catholic Church Church suppressed many church writings and even kept the common folks from having access to the Bible itself. It is therefore entirely possible that Dr.
doctrine on the writings on the right and my correct answer. But you know it’s not even really an argument because the scripture clearly teaches it and you can find numerous passages about the rapture in the New Testament and John 14, Jesus there, I think is talking about the Rapture. He says he was leaving, he would go and prepare a place for us and if he would go and prepare a place for us, he would come again and receive us under himself that we would be also.
I think he’s talking about coming back for us at the Rapture and snatching us up at the end this age. In John 11, he says in verse 25 that if you believe you’ll be in the resurrection, but then verse 26, I believe he’s talking about the rapture and he says, and whosoever liveth and believeth in me, she’ll never die. And he’s talking about a group of people that would be believers and living and never die, and there’ll be an exception to death, and those that are living at the time of the rapture will be in that group.
And obviously they’ll be living and never die. And I’m expecting to be in that group. I think we’re close enough to… I think we’re very close. One more question, like maybe the teaching on the Trinity or that are not in antique writings? I believe a lot of doctors possibly were suppressed. And when we talk about the dark ages, it’s talking about a time of spiritual darkness where the Bible was really not read by the people. It was, you know, and Latin, you know, as it became a dead language.
Nobody knew what was being said. You know, many churches did everything in Latin, and nobody understood what was going on. It kept everybody in the dark. That didn’t make any sense at all. And so a lot of teachings were totally suppressed and kept away from the people people didn’t know what was going on and just followed uh… blindly whatever the church said that’s not exactly alright thank you very much thank you james it was james in seminal we’re now going to go to john in riverview and john welcome to bible and you’re on the air dot the hand yes sir I think I want to ask you about something that I heard and I have not been able to find it in the Bible about a reference to Jacob’s bones being stolen to prevent Israel from leaving Egypt.
I don’t know about that, but they were preserved and so they took them up when they left Egypt all the way back to Israel and buried them up in near Shechem, which is where Jacob’s well is, and the traditional side of the grave of Joseph is right there to this very day. Okay, that was a preacher that said something about the bones had been stolen and Moses went to the water and he called the bones and the bones floated up just like the axe head floated up.
No, that’s nonsense. Somebody had a dream and told her to dream. That’s not in the Bible. Okay. I thought so. Thank you, John. Thank you. All right Joseph’s bones were kept for that entire time of captivity down in Egypt and then when they left Egypt with Moses they carried them to the Willowness for those 40 years and then when the end of the promise line in their Joshua, they carried those bones into Israel and they buried them there near where Jacob had dug a well where Jacob’s well is.
We’re now going to Carl in Tampa, Florida and Carl welcome to Bibleline your on the air. Yeah, I just need to ask you. I haven’t really heard much about it, but I know that Calcannic, I think it’s called, I’m just curious, you know, have you read it? Can you do the information that you do? What he’s saying? I’ll just hang up on the… I have read it and I think it’s absolutely worthless. His book, Sprinkled’s Pixie Dust on the Bible, and he says what you’re reading there doesn’t really mean what it says.
And he writes off the rapture, the tribulation period, the millennium as not being real. And he says that Christ came back in AD 70, and the tribulation period was AD 60-40, AD 70, and that Nero was the Antichrist, and that the prophecies of the coming of Christ all fulfilled in 8070, that it’s all over. And he tries to take passages in the Old Testament to make his point and say that these weren’t literally fulfilled. Therefore, the ones in the New Testament that are similar aren’t going to be literally fulfilled, and he’s wrong.
He’s just wrong because the ones in the Old Testament were literally fulfilled or will still be fulfilled in the future. the ones in the New Testament will also be fulfilled literally. So thank you for the question but I totally disagree with Kenner graph. He’s a prenrest, believes that God is through with Israel. He obviously doesn’t believe in a rapture or the tribulation period or the second coming of Christ and the thousand year millennial kingdom that is going to be established according to the Bible.
We now have an anonymous caller from Jacksonville, Florida. And welcome to Bibleline Year on Women. Yes, good morning, Dr. Lynch. I’m just going to ask a question and hang up and listen. What are the Bible books that are in the Catholic Bible? I haven’t read them, but Sirah, Maccabees, and those type of books. I want to know who are they written by and if they’re fiction or nonfiction, and why would they have left them in their Bible? We don’t have them.
I’ll hang up and say, answer. Thank you, sir. Alright, thank you, you know. You know, the Catholic Church added books that were written during what we call the Silent New Year’s, guided with drawn-all of his prophets. So these were not books that were inspired. But they are Jewish histories of the history of the Jewish people after the Babylonian captivity when guided with drawn-all the prophets until the time of John the Baptist. And so they are history, they are interesting reading, but if they had been scripture, they should have been accepted as they were written as being the inspired word of God, but they were never accepted by the Jewish people as they were written as being God’s word.
Neither did Christ when He came along say that, hey, you missed these books, they should be added to the Bible, nor did the early church fathers or the apostles say that, hey, we missed these books, they should be added to the Bible. The Catholic Church at the Council of Trent in 1554 AD, nearly 2,000 years after these books were written, decided to add them. That was a big mistake. These books are not scripture. They’re an interesting history and I think you can learn from them.
Good job. I wouldn’t lose any sleep over it to argue this point with anybody who really wants to believe their scripture because they don’t change any doctrines whatsoever. They’re just history of the Jewish people during that time. So it don’t affect our salvation. They don’t affect the doctrines of heaven or hell or anything else. So I wouldn’t spend a lot of time arguing over it, but they don’t belong in the Bible. They don’t fit the pattern. When Moses wrote his words were accepted as the word of God immediately and the writings of Moses were placed in the Ark and the Covenant and each Old Testament book as it was written was added to that Ark and these books that the Catholic Church added didn’t fit that pattern at all.
They weren’t accepted until 2000 years too late. That tells you they were never scripture and Christ certainly could have corrected the problem but he never quotes them or mentions them. They are not a part of scripture. Thank you so much. Anonymous in Jackson, Florida. We have now Martin and Sarah Toga Springs, New York and Martin. Good to have you with us here on Bibleline. Good morning. Good morning. Hey, good morning, Pastor Lindstrom. How are you? Good. Good. Good. I’m calling from Sir Toga Springs, New York.
I want to just let you know, thank you for getting the truth out and the teachings of the Bible. God bless you and your ministry on this. My wife and I are now typing to Bibleline ministries and I just want to get that out so that people can hear it so that you can continue this teaching and truth. Pardon me? Praise the Lord and thank you. God bless you for your gifts and your prayers for this ministry. Oh, you’re welcome.
You’re welcome. One other thing I’d just like to say is, you know, with this big bang theory, I’ve had that figured out for a long time and I figured, you know, if I could share it real quick. Okay, go ahead. Well, basically, God said it. Bang, it happened. I love it. It’s about that simple. I love simplicity. I think truth is always simple. You got it. God spoke and the university became. That’s it. I love it. Mr. Lynch drum, thank you very much.
Thank you, Mark. I did the awareness, gonna go with that, but that was great, I love that. We’re gonna go now to Mark in Orlando, Florida, and Mark, welcome to Bibleline You’re on the air. Hello, Mark? This is not Mark. I’m sorry, but who are you? He’s anonymous. You’re anonymous, okay. I just wanna share something that helped me to understand the new birth. I went to Genesis and when Adam disobeyed God, the evidence of his death, of his spiritual death helped me to understand what happens when we’ve become born again.
When Adam sinned against God and when he disobeyed God and that relationship, that fellowship he had with God prior totally died out and the evidence of that happening even though they may not have felt different, the evidence is that they hit themselves, they lied. All of that happened as an evidence of their spiritual death. And when we’re born again, even though we may not feel different or we may not look different, we truly receive salvation. The Holy Spirit comes into us and bursts us into a right relationship with God and that fellowship is restored.
So it’s impossible. Be the same once you become born again. Even though we’re not, of course we grow spiritually because it’s like a natural baby has to grow, a spiritual baby has to grow. But the change happens on the inside. Because even before you receive salvation, God has already began to do a work in you to turn your heart toward Him where you are desiring something. You may not understand exactly what you are desiring. But when you hear the gospel, that’s why it’s so important for believers to preach the gospel.
Because when an unsaved person hears a gospel, that faith connects. Grace and Grace connect and they open their heart to receive the gift of salvation and they’re never the same. You can’t be the same and the Holy Spirit is more than just to seal us until the day of redemption. He’s to make us witnesses. He teaches us how to live right. He teaches us how to worship God. He teaches us how to be witnesses for Christ. So it’s more than just a mind thing where I just change my mind.
Well of course, when you trust Christ, you do change your mind on the process. But you’re exactly right. I certainly agree with you. What’s it you’re calling from? Jack’s and so. Oh, from Jack’s and so. Well, nice to have you listening up there. And thank you for your input today. We are getting close to the end here, so I’m going to have to move to the next call. But we have Butch down in Sarasota. Butch, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air.
Well, hi, but yeah, how you don’t good? Yeah Well, I have a friend of mine. It’s a ex Adventist and she divorced her husband and She’s getting remarried and and I’ll just hang up with the answer that okay well certainly about eternity she needs to Trust Jesus as her only hope of heaven at the Adventist just believe obviously in keeping the Sabbath and works to go to heaven so she needs to know the Lord. As a believer, you’re only to marry another believer.
So as an Adventist, I would say she’s in the category of not knowing the Lord because the Adventist is working his way to heaven and not saved there for, I believe. And so whoever is marrying her, I if their believer would try to get her saved. So the turn to anything is not the real important thing more than the marriage. Obviously if two believers come together then they can be in harmony and serve the Lord together and it will be as the way God intended it.
So I don’t know enough to be able to fully answer your question here but it sounds like salvation is an issue here here with her being an Adventist. Thank you, butch, and we now have to end the program. The time is over. We’ll forget to watch us on DirecTV channel 367 and 630 Eastern Time. Don’t forget to keep looking up for Jesus to come, and He is coming. And pray for Bible Islander if you can give a gift to help us.
