It’s Thursday and tonight our TV program is on direct TV nationwide. We’re seeing everywhere that direct TV has subscribers and that’s all over the North American continent from Canada down to the Caribbean from Alaska, of course to Maine and Florida, everything across the North American continent. That’s 6.30 tonight on World Harvest Television Channel 367 on Direct TV. So if you have Direct TV, you can tune into that program, but guess what? You can catch it on the internet. You can go to BibleLineMinistries.org and you can click on the spinning globe for radio.
You can click on the TV set for television. You can click on the camera for the worship services and we hope you’ll do that. We were really excited this weekend where we had a family reunion up in the mountains of Kentucky. And there they had a big large screen projector and one of the family members wanted the family to hear the gospels so they had our worship service live right there off of the internet and they had fifteen of the reunion join that and one of them raised his hand to trust the Lord at the invitation.
That’s exciting and we’re looking forward to hear more reports as we have people really around the world that are listening and watching to our worship services. We had a soldier here in our church that just got back from Afghanistan. He said he and a bunch of the guys would get in the barracks and get on the internet and watch our worship service about 10 or 12 of them at a time every Sunday in Afghanistan. He said it really carried him through the war.
It’s exciting. We’re just hearing wonderful reports all the time. This is Bibleline and we’re coming to you live out of Tampa. You can catch this program again and again on the Internet. I hope you’ll give that a chance. We have some great classes available on CD. We just finished 2nd Peter. What a great study that is. And it’s available on CD and DVD. You can call and get your order in and we’ll ship it right out. We also have 1st Peter, 10 hours of teaching on 1st Peter, ten hours of teaching on 2 Peter, a great verse by verse exposition of these wonderful words of Peter given to us by inspiration as the Holy Spirit directed Peter in the writing of these two great books.
Also we have the Gospel of John. That’s twenty hours of teaching on the Gospel of John. What a wonderful series that was. We also have the Book of Revelation, the Book of Daniel, we have the Book of Romans, the Book of Jude, the Book of Hebrews, many different presentations about forty different ones you can order we have a twelve hour series on the holy spirit we have a series on parables we have a series on the in-time prophecies uh…
so many different doctrines and things that are taught you’ll enjoy getting those we also have some wonderful books in our resource center including the skill field bible we have it in spanish and we have it in english with the skill field notes What a wonderful study aid the Scofield is. If you go out to your bookstore, they’re going to say the wrong one. They’re promoting now the hybrid, which is the number three Scofield. You don’t want it. Some of the notes are absolutely wrong.
They were added, are not written by Dr. Scofield. Dr. Scofield would obviously, I’m sure, be very upset to think that his name is associated with these notes that have been added. They don’t identify which ones are added. And you have to really do your homework and have the old school field there and compare with the new page by page to see what they’ve added. So don’t get that. We have the old here in Stockette By the Line in our race or center.
And that’s the only one we’ll carry. We don’t want you to get the wrong one. So we have the correct one here at our headquarters. We also have some wonderful books on the scriptures. We have new age vinyl versions which we’ll tell you about the changes that are made in so many of these translations today. You might want to get that. It’s about 800 pages. We have the strongest concordance which allows you to have a combined scholarship of 200 Hebrew and Greek scholars.
And by a simple number code system, you can look up any word in the Bible, every thee, every thou, every and every but, every shout, and look at the original word of what it meant, how it’s translated, and wow, that is a great, great aid. If you wanted to do a word study, like say you wanted to teach on the Holy Spirit, you could very quickly find every verse in the Bible that has the Holy Spirit in it, just one, two, three, boom, boom, boom, and you have got a complete study on the word Holy Spirit as it’s used in the Bible.
You might want to get one of these. They’re reasonable. They’re I think $30 and it’s much more expensive than that in their bookstore. But it’s a great, great tool. It’s quite thick. It’s a great also booster chair for your children or grandchildren, as well as a great study for the Bible study tool. We’re going to get into the Bible here little bit, then we’re going to be taking our callers. If you want to call in today the numbers 1-800-576-3771, that’s 1-800-576-3771.
Turn of you will in your Bibles to 1 Thessalonians chapter 4. 1 Thessalonians chapter 4. And we’re going to talk a little bit about the Rapture. You know, the Rapture is the next event on God’s program. I don’t know when the Rapture will happen, but I do believe whatever year that it does occur, that it will happen in the fall on the Feast of Trumpets. There are seven feast days that God gave to Israel back in Leviticus 23. You can read about all seven of them in one chapter, Leviticus 23.
The first of those was the Feast of Passover and guess what? Jesus died right on the Passover when the Passover of a Lamb of Israel was being offered. Jesus was offered as the Lamb of God. It was a prophecy. The feast days are all prophetic pictures of the first and second coming of Christ. The next feast was the Feast of the Living Bread, its Book of Christ’s Body, and his sinless Body was placed in the grave during the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
The next feast was the Feast of First Fruits and its Book of Resurrection. guess what? Jesus rose from the dead on the feast of first fruit stay. The New Testament confirms that, you know, in 1 Corinthians 5, 7, it says, for even Christ, our Passover is sacrificed for us. For even Christ, our Passover is sacrificed for us. 1 Corinthians 5, 7. So Jesus was the fulfillment of the Passover. 1 Corinthians 15, 20, and 22 tells us that Jesus Christ is the first fruits of the resurrection.
He was indeed the fulfillment of the feast of first fruits. The fourth feast was the feast of Pentecost. And guess what? In Acts 2 we read, when the day of Pentecost would fully come, what happens the Holy Spirit comes to indwell the believers of this age. This age began on the feast of Pentecost. The next three feasts are in the fall of the year and refer I believe and are prophetic about the second coming events and the next feast should be the one to conclude the church ages.
It began with the Feast of Pentecost. It will be concluded with the Feast of Trumpets and that’s the Rapture. And guess what? This year it happened September 30th. So if the Lord comes this year, you don’t have a whole lot of time left. We’re coming up hard and fast on June and then July and August and then September. September 30th we’re out of here if if the Lord were to come this year back to tape up I didn’t say he’s coming this year but he could He could and if he does You’ve got four months and we’re out of here if you knew for a fact that Jesus was coming this September 30th Would it change your life in any way is there anybody you’d want to talk to is there anybody you would want to lead the Christ Is there anything you’d like to change about what you’re doing?
Would you like to make your life more valuable for eternity by maximizing what you’re doing for God? My friend if that’s the case you ought to be doing it anyway He’s going to be doing it anyway. You never know when you’re going to die and you never know when Christ is going to return and it could be that he’ll come this year and September 30th might be the date. I don’t know about you, but every year in the fall because I know it’ll occur on that feast day.
I kind of get up on my tippy toes because I get ready to anticipate the Lord’s return. In factitual rapture practice. I’m always teasing about this, but I would get out where nobody’s watching and kind of rock back and forth on your toes. and heels, kind of, uh, loosen up your arms and kind of flap them a little bit and loosen them and get ready to take off. It’s a lot of fun. I was preaching up in Georgia and we were out in the parking lot afterward and some of the people were all excited about my teaching on the Rapture and so we had a whole group that were just, we were playing around, uh, rocking back and forth on our toes and heels and flapping arms a little bit.
People must have thought we were crazy but we were having fun. We believe Jesus Christ is coming, and He is coming soon. We don’t have a date. I’m not a date center. But let me tell you, since the first four feast days were fulfilled on the day, it’s very reasonable for us to assume that the last three feasts which typify second coming events will happen right on the day. So I believe that whatever year Jesus does return, it will happen on the Feast of Trumpets.
September 30th this year. I would start counting down. It’s an exciting way to live. To look at the prospect of Christ coming this year and to live in that exciting expectation of His return. Alright, let’s look at our Bibles. 1 Thessalonians 4 verse 13 says, I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren concerning those which are asleep that you sorrow not even as others which have no hope. It’s talking about death. In the Bible, the body is spoken of as sleeping till the time of the resurrection.
But there is no such thing as soul sleep. The Seventh day I’ve been with the wrong. They teach the soul sleeps until the resurrection. There are others who teach soul sleep. It’s not correct. When people die, they are absent from the body as a Christian, absent from the body present with the Lord. If you read Luke 16, beginning in verse 19, you have two men who die, and immediately upon their death, their conscious awake alive, and obviously aware of their circumstances.
One is a rich man in these inflament torment. He’s lost. He’s an unbeliever. The other is a beggar named Lazarus, and he’s very much alive and paradise in a place of comfort. And he remembers his past life. So there’s no such thing as soul sleep. Their souls are very much conscious and awake and alive. That’s Luke 16, verse 19 to the end of the chapter. But the body’s spoken of his sleep. He can tell the resurrection. And so here the people at Thessalonica were curious about what happened to those loved ones who had died.
And he says, I want to let you know so that you don’t sorrow, even as those which have no hope. And of course, I was talking about the return of Christ. This expectation that you and I have of Christ’s return. Here’s the key, verse 14, verse Thessalonians 4, 14 says, if we believe, if we believe, if we believe, that Greek word believe means to trust. If we trust, look at what it says, that Jesus died and rose again. That’s the Gospel.
That’s the key to being saved. That’s the key to being in the Rapture. And if you have believed or trusted that Jesus died for you and shed his blood and paid your sin debt and full was buried in Rosie Ginford and then my friend, you’re going to be in the event called the Rapture. And guess what? Those that have already died are with the Lord right now and they’re coming back. In verse 14, most people miss it. They go right over it.
If we believe that Jesus died and rose again, verse 14 of 1st Thessalonians chapter 4, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will what God bring with him. They’re already with him. And when Jesus comes back, God will bring their souls with him when he comes back. Isn’t that interesting? It says here in my Bible, if we believe that Jesus died in Rose again, even so them which also which sleep in Jesus, well, God bring with him. Now, a few verses later, we see Jesus coming back.
And of course, Jesus is God. And here’s another wonderful affirmation of the deity of Christ, because when Jesus comes back. God is coming back. Jesus is the God-man and he comes back and brings with him the souls of those that have already died. Their bodies are spoken of as sleepy. And so what happens at the event when he shouts? Their new bodies spring forth from the earth and meet their souls in the air and their reunited soul and body forever.
Look at verse 16. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout with the voice of the Archangel with the Trump of God and the dead in Christ to rise first. What’s that song? talking about the bodies. The bodies have been spoken of as sleeping in the grave. Their souls are alive and present and conscious with the Lord. When he comes back, he brings those souls with him, verse 14. And when he shouts in the upper atmosphere, their bodies rise up from the earth and meet their souls and their reunited soul and body.
Then here’s the verse that concerns you and me because if we’re alive, we could be in this event This is verse 17 of 1st Thessalonians 4. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds. Then we which are alive and remain. That’s the rapture. Be caught up. The word rapture means caught up. And will be caught up together with them. Who’s the them? The them is those that have already died who are with the Lord that Jesus brings back with him when he comes.
They get their resurrection bodies first and then we follow and in the twinkling of an eye, we’re caught up and transformed on the way up into our new bodies. And it says, in the last phrase, so shall we be ever with the Lord. So shall we be ever with the Lord. In other words, forever and ever for that point on, you’ll never be separated from the Lord at all for even a second. and then in verse 18 it says, Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
What great words of comfort they are because we know we’re going to be a part of a great reunion one day when all the believers of all the ages will meet in the atmosphere and in the clouds above the earth. And those that have died will come back with Christ and their new bodies will rise up from the earth and we which are live and remain will be caught up together and meet them and be transformed on the way up.
That’s going to be a great day. I’m going to give everybody a high five on the way up It’s going to be great. I’m Dr. Engleman’s from this is my blind. I hope you’ve trusted Jesus as your Savior And if you have you’re going to be in the Rapture There’s no doubt about it. No doubt about it. Every believer is going to be caught up to be in that Rapture You know we have some wonderful people at writing all the time Let me just open the letter this morning.
Dear Dr. Lindstrom, I really enjoy listening to your radio program. It really helps me a lot. And thank God for you because you make everything so clear about the Bible. I’m sending a gift to you for your work that you are doing for God. And what a sweet note here from this dear lady. And we get letters and notes all the time and it’s so encouraging to know that we’re We are a blessing to you that are listening and I hope that we are a blessing to you.
And if you could help my blind just like this to your lady, she said a little bit to help us and wow, every bit of that counts and allows us to be on the air because we don’t have any other source of support. Our listeners are the ones that keep us on the air. What a miracle and blessing it’s been to see God’s supply through people just like you who enjoy the program. Well, we’re getting ready to go on the air with our listeners and we have James down in Miami, Florida and James, welcome to my blind you are on the air.
James, you’re welcome. James? Yeah, James. Good morning, Dr. Lindstrom. Been listening to you for a while now. Thank you all for your ministry of teaching. That’s helped me a lot. I want to come and have a friend of mine that we would discuss about the Rapture and we got to say the bait about if when the the rapture calm and you’re in a situation like in a commitment for an occasion and you’re supposed to be saved when the rapture calm and your commitment for an occasion that Jesus Christ will still take you with them.
My code is not just so. And the other question I want to ask is and when the Bible says in the sea they mean they’re going to come back to their deposit going to reform again. They’re all going to come up, you know, as they were before they were devoured by the sea animals or whatever. You’re going to hang up and just hang on the radio. Thank you very much, Dr. Leshram. Well, on that first one, it doesn’t matter what you might be doing when Christ comes.
You’re going to be raptured up, but it will certainly be embarrassing. The Bible talks about some Christians being ashamed. . . . When Christ returns. Let me give you a great verse and there’ll be a shame that they’ll also suffer the loss of reward at that event. You don’t want that to happen to you. So, as a believer, you don’t want to be caught doing things you’d be embarrassed doing when Jesus comes back. In fact, the fact that we know he’s coming soon ought to cause us to live a pure life so that we’ll be pleasing when he takes us up in his sight.
But it says He will not cast you out. John 637 says, Jesus said he would not lose one. So you are not lost by what you do. You are kept by Jesus who will not lose anyone. So you are saved forever. On the question of Revelation Revelation 20 at the Great White Throne Judgment when the sea gave up the dead which were in it. I really personally think that that’s referring to the angels. The angels lived on this earth prior to Adam and Eve.
That original earth which was inhabited with plants and animals and dinosaurs was destroyed. Apparently, maybe as NASA says, by a huge asteroid with 150 miles of ammeter that struck in the area that you could have peninsula in the Gulf of Mexico. They say that so much debris was cast up into the atmosphere that the sun’s light was cut off for millions of years and that accounts for the ice ages. As scientists tell us if our sun’s light were cut off for as little as 72 hours, the earth would become quick frozen.
Then about 6,000 years ago, God warmed up the earth and put life on it again and this time he puts man in charge over the earth. I believe the present land masses were once the bottoms of the oceans. If you go up to Pike’s Peak outside of Denver, Colorado, you’ll soon find seashells. Why? Did somebody just take truckload of seashells up there and dump them around? No. They’re a part of the geology. This was once the bottom of the ocean, the Bible, rather the oceanographers tell us.
I’ve been in the Garcia caves in Mexico, 4,000 feet above sea level. All the interior walls of these caves are sea shells. Oceanographers tell us this was the bottom of the ocean. So I believe what is the bottom of the oceans today was the land in the time of the original creation and vice versa. And so the place where the angels lived is now submerged and is under God’s curse in a sense as he judged those fallen angels. And so the sea, the area that is now, the land that was once the original earth is now covered by the oceans and the dead or the angels will be brought up out of their own judgement cast into the lake of fire.
Hope that helps and we’re going to go now to Linda in Dunedin, Florida. Linda, welcome to Bible Eye. Good morning, passes Linda. How are you? Good. Turn your radio down. We’re hearing the radio in the background. Okay. I want to make a comment about the exclusivity that was brought about by the Bishop of New England and they were saying about evangelizing Muslims and to clarify that there is only one way and I’m reading that in Acts 9 verse 2 please elaborate on what is going on with Bishop Lowe from the way.
It’s not only he, but I mean this is happening Everywhere it seems like an all-out apostasy that’s happening a departure from the word Let me just take a minute Linda to say goodbye to Miami Miami. We love you all down there Thank you for listening and we just heard from a caller in Miami we want you all to know that we Appreciate y’all and again We’d like to continue in your area and your support was is vital to to those decisions So please help us if you would call and give a gift or a print bill, at least you’re praying for us.
So anyway, Linda, we’re living in an age of apostasy. It says in 2 Timothy, chapter 4 and verse 3, the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine. Actually, the word endure means they’ll stand up against and they’ll not put up. With Sound Doctrine, they’ll actually be activated with it. They’ll want their ears tickled so they’ll heat to the cell teachers that will entertain them. The churches today have become entertainment centers. And a lot of Sunday’s morning services are basically aerobic sessions.
People are on their feet dancing and jumping around waving their arms. And they might as well go to an aerobics class. The early church, if you read the book of Acts, came together for the Apostles’ Doctrine. That is the study of the Word of God. We have absolutely gone the other direction. You’ll find nothing about jumping around or praise and worship in the early church. They came together to study the Word of God. That’s not happening today. And that’s what the Bible said they would not endure.
They would stand up against that and they would turn away their ears from the truth and be We turn them to fables or lies and we’re seeing it happen right before our eyes today. Well, we’re going to have to take our break and do a second half hour. So I hope you’ll continue to listen and if you have a question call in on our 800 number and we’ll try to get to your question and answer it on the airternal.
I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom, this is Bibleline and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios and you’re always the welcome to come by and visit with us and visit our resource center or come to a worship service anytime you’re in the area from out state we’re right next to the airport come by and see us again we need your support if you could give a gift today and finish out the month of May 4th by calling in and giving a gift by credit card that would be great or ask for an envelope to be sent and we’ll be glad to do that and you could mail your gift in.
God bless you and I hope you’ll stay tuned now for the second half hour as we’ll take a break and come right back and go at it for another half hour and it’s on the internet by the way you can catch it there to live I’ll be right back. I’m Dr. Engleinserman. We’ll pick this break and can be right back. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well, I’m Dr.
Engleinserman. It’s wonderful to be with you and I enjoy being with you every day. And we thank God for all of you that write us and tell us that you’re praying for us and that you are. supporting us and we just obviously are greatly encouraged by that. Your letters mean a great deal to us and we’d love to hear from you and you can write to us or you can email us, you can call us on the telephone, we’d love to hear from you.
And we get calls from all over the U.S. that are telling us the same thing. And we appreciate every one of you. We got a wonderful call from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The gentleman said he wants to be a lifelong partner with us. He doesn’t want Bible unto ever go off the air in Pittsburgh and he wants to be able to continue to hear it and the other folks up there in that Pittsburgh area to listen to Bible. Pray for us as we try to reach out with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
You could be a partner with us and I believe share equally in whatever rewards we get from what we’re doing because I believe that’s the Bible principle and that’s how God works. If we had the money to do this show without our audience I think we would probably have a tendency to do that. But you know, we don’t have that money, so we’re dependent upon you, and that’s God’s plan, because that way we can share together. And it’s a true partnership between our listeners and getting that gospel out to the world that needs to hear it so desperately.
Pray for us, and if you could give a gift, it would be great. You could call and give that gift by credit card over the phone, or you can call and get If you want to be a part of the Bible, you can do it in the Bible. We’re talking about a trip to Israel. I hope you’ll join me for trip number 16, February 18. This one will leave for the option part to Egypt and Jordan and to the beautiful city of Elot on the Red Sea.
Then for those that just want to do a 10-day portion, you can do just 10 days in Israel with us and you would fly over and meet me. As you come off the plane, we’ll be together for 10 days in Israel. Or you can join me for the entire trip, which will be 5 days in Egypt, Jordan and Elot. And then we’ll enter Israel and meet all those coming in from the States for the 10 day Israel portion. It’ll be a wonderful trip.
I’d love to have you on board with me. If the Lord doesn’t take us out this September, we’ll be planning to go. We’re going to also, again, encourage you to take a look at our Resource Center online. We’ve got so many wonderful things, and it would be helpful if you would get your resources from us. Not only would it be helpful to us, by-one, but it would be helpful to you because we screen these books and you’re going to get the best for your dollar when you buy from our Resource Center.
We’re going to take our audience and go right back to the stations that have been on break We can do part two. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. All right back from that break and it’s great to be with you I tell you it’s so exciting to be able to say I know I have eternal life I know my sins are forgiven.
I know I’m going to heaven. I know that I’m gonna have a brand new body I know that I have a mansion waiting for me and heaven all these things are true for the believer You ought to be able to say I know I know I know I know I know And yet today we have so many people that deny the truths of God’s Word and say you can’t know, you can’t know, you can’t know, when you can’t know.
Wow, the Bible is loaded with wonderful promises and every one of us as believers need to begin to discover them and let ourselves just enjoy the wonderful promises that God has given to us as believers. If you’re not going to heaven or not sure of going to heaven, you can be sure right now before this program is ever over. When you trust that Jesus Christ died for you and paid your sin debt and full, it was buried and rose again from the dead, God saves you.
Wow, that’s got to be the best news you’ll ever hear in your entire life. And you could do it right now. You could just say, Lord, I’m a sinner. I don’t understand much about the Bible, but I believe Jesus Christ died for me. I paid my sin debt and full was buried and rose again from the dead. I trust him right now as my Savior, as my only hope of heaven. And you know God will save you the moment you trust Christ.
It’s the best news you’re ever going to ever hear. We’re talking about a trip to Israel next February if the world hasn’t wrapped your house out this September. And if you’d like to go, please just give us your name and phone number in the dress and we’ll mail you a brochure as soon as we get them. We’re about ready to totally finalize this thing. We’ve been taking your input and making decisions and it looks like we’ve got everything in order to go.
And I hope you will plan to go if you can. It’s a trip of a lifetime and you will just be amazed at how it will transform your life in that you will learn so much and become so knowledgeable in just a couple of weeks. We’ll be teaching all day long. You’ll hear me for morning to night on location right where the things happened and you’re going to have a great time. It’s going to be wonderful. I hope you’ll do it.
Give us a call and get on our list for the Israel trip. And if you have a question, you’re able to, you’re welcome to call in right now and we’ll get you up on the air and we’ll take your question. We have Brother Atwell right now from Sononah, sasa florida and brother at will welcome the Bible and you are on the air hello brother at will and I think brother at will is not there okay well anyway we’ll find out where he went we’re now going to go to Franz in my Emmy and Franz welcome to my one you’re on the air you make sure you turn your radio down front but you are near uh…
yet how are you good yeah one of the ask your question that i’ve been somewhat troubled by uh… i look at your program all the time by the way that i’ve got a little bit troubled by the issue of baptism i consider myself at the type of christ when i’m reading john when he’s quite stuck in the academia it makes it very clear the baptism is a very important part of becoming a disciple of Christ likewise in Acts 2.
Well just stop for just a minute. Stop for just a minute. In John 3 you will not find the word baptize at all. It’s not there. You’re reading something into that passage is not there. The word is B-O-R-N. There’s a tremendous difference between being born and being baptized. Now when you came into this world out of your mother’s womb that was birth. When you were baptized, that was another ball game altogether where you were immersed in water. Jesus said you have to be born of water, which is the flesh birth.
If you read the context there, it’s very clear. You’re enclosed in a sack of water in your mother’s womb. When that water sack breaks… Then you come out into this world and that’s the birth of water. It calls it in verse 6, the flesh birth. That which is born of the flesh is flesh. Jesus said, Marvel not that I said unto thee, you must be born again. So the second birth, we already have the water birth. The second one is the spirit birth.
There’s nothing about water baptism at all in John 3. You cannot find it. If you can show me the word baptize in John chapter 3, then I’ll be absolutely shocked because it’s not there. It’s just not there. This is also in Romans 6 and you got Acts 2 that I referenced before. Okay, well let’s go to Romans 6. That’s not talking about water. There are 10 different baptisms taught in the New Testament. Most of them are dry. For example, John the Baptist talked about Christ baptizing with the Holy Spirit.
That’s not water. He talks about Christ baptizing with fire. That’s not water. We find in Matthew chapter 20, he talks about the baptism of death. not water and so on and so on and so on. There are ten different baptisms and only a couple of them are with water and water has nothing to do with our salvation. So in Romans 6 it talks about a baptism into Christ’s death. That is the baptism of the Holy Spirit which places you into Christ’s body.
In 1 Corinthians 12, 13 it says, by one spirit are we all baptized into one body. Whether we are bond or free or Jew or Greek and have made the drink into one spirit, the result is you are verse 27 of 1 Corinthians 12, the body of Christ and members of particular. So therefore, when Christ was crucified, you were crucified because God saw you in Christ’s body nailed to that cross at Calvary. When Jesus was laid in the tomb, God saw you laying in that tomb according to Romans 6 because you were baptized into his body and therefore into his death and his burial.
And when Christ rose, you rose because you were seen by God in Christ’s body. Has nothing to do with water. You’ll not find any water in Romans 6. There is no water there. I recommend that you get my CD on baptisms and I teach all ten baptisms and most of them have nothing to do with your salvation at all and they are most of them without a liquid or without water at all. Most people when they see the word baptize their minds lock up water, water, water, water, water, water, water, not true you need to be a better Bible student and in John 3 there is no water, Roman 6 there is no water and most of the time we are not talking about a water baptism when you see the word baptize.
Okay, and by the way, Franz, if you are trusting in water baptism to get you to heaven, you won’t be saved because you’re trusting in works and not Christ. All those who teach water baptism for salvation are not going to make heaven because if you add any human work to what Christ did for you on the cross, you’ll not be saved. Let me quote for you Titus 3.5, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us.
And then it says by the washing of the new birth, when you are born again, it happens at the moment you trust Christ, you are washed, but you’re not washed in water, you’re washed in the blood of Christ, and it’s only the blood of Christ that can take away your sin. And what I’m concerned about, Franz, is that you’re not going to go to heaven, that you’re not saved. If you’re trusting that you have to be water baptized, that makes salvation of yourself.
And the Bible says salvation is by grace, Ephesians 2.8, through faith in Jesus Christ, and it’s not of yourself, it is the gift of God, and it’s not of works. That’s the name and should both. If you had to do something that would obviously be a human work and water baptism has nothing to do with salvation, please remember that the dying thief never had a chance to get baptized and the dying thief, Christ said to him today, how shall it be with me in paradise?
He could have said, I’m sorry, but you don’t have a chance to get baptized, it looks like you’re going to go to hell. The dying thief was saved on the spot by trusting Christ the Savior. We have Darnell in Darnell is in St. Petersburg and Darnell welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Hey Dr. Hank how you doing this morning? Good. Alright you were talking about the not the angels that were in the water of revelation or something like that, that it will come up out of the water.
Well, I think it speaks about their dwelling place was the sea giving up the dead as opposed to the land. I think it’s a reference to probably angels. We know the angels are cast into hell with Satan or right after Satan is. In Revelation 20 verse 10 you have Satan cast into the lake of fire where the beast of the false prophet are. And then we look for a reference where angels are cast in and it must be that phrase the sea gave up the dead which were in it.
So I believe that the dead was in the dead. So I believe that the dead was in the dead. that the earth was originally inhabited with all of God’s angels. And Lucifer was the God of this world ruling over all of them and it was planned in animal life. And we’re, by the way, using that animal life today in our gas tank. The petroleum, the oil is the remains of the life forms that were destroyed and have been and preserved in pockets, they fossilized in pockets underneath the earth in these oil reserves.
The coal deposits are fossilized plant life and we burn that coal and we burn that petroleum to data keeper. We’ll go, that’s a part of this destruction to have on the earth. Nobody can explain why we have these pockets of coal and animal life preserved under the earth except that was a part of a cataclysmic judgment upon the earth. And the angels, I believe, I think like some of mythology has some basis like the lost continent of Atlantis. I think Atlantis or the Atlantic was once a continent and the North American continent that we’re on was once at the bottom of the sea and oceanographers can demonstrate that their seashells inland even on the top of the mountains and the Rockies where they say at one time this was at the bottom of the ocean.
So I think God reversed everything. And so the areas where the angels lived will deliver up those angels that are going to be cast into hell with Satan. And I think they come out of the area that which is now the seas of the earth. Could you explain this one thing coming because what you said to me makes much sense. But I also heard of another fellow who was getting ready to talk about a teaching called Particles to Particles.
If someone, suppose they died at sea and they had their ashes spread out in the sea or something like that, they’ll, could you have you? I heard of that. What was he talking about? He was teaching about particles and particles or something. I have no idea. But you know, if you fell overboard and you were drowned in the sharks’ nature, that’s not a problem as far as the resurrection. If God needs to find the exact molecules that made up your body, he can do that.
So I have no problem with that. But I don’t, I think that the number of people killed at sea are so few compared to those who die on land that is probably not talking about that. I think it has to do with this large body of angels and it seems like there’s always in the Bible in affinity between the fallen angels and the sea. You know in the angels that the fallen angels of the demons that were in the swine on the edge of the Sea of Galilee and they ran headlong into the sea and they were drowned.
It seems like there’s always a connection between water and the demons. That seems to be the place of where they’d like to go where they used to once live which is now the bottoms of the oceans. I don’t know. Well it’s a speculation on my part but I think it fits pretty well with scripture I think. Right. It sounds really good to you guys. Thank you so much for calling in Darnell. That was Darnell in St. Petersburg. We have brother at well.
He’s back. He’s back brother at well from Tonona, sense of Florida welcome to the program. You know I’ve been listening about the rapture with you this morning and I’ve got two main questions for you. I was reading here that the Lawless Sea and Church where Jesus addressed and I’m assuming this… What you did? He said I know my work now about I need a hot cold a hot I would that work over Luke warm and neither cold you be out of my mouth now my question is sir This is the church that’s going to be raptured when this is the worst church of the bunch that was seven church ages through history.
And how can people believe that they don’t want do nothing you know what i mean this is the do not the church aid and yet uh… and second question when they go to explain it but go to free can We hope that has kept the word of our patient. I will also keep me from the our temptation which shall come upon all the world to try them to dwell on theirs. Now if the lot of sea of church is going to be spewed out of the mouth but yet they use three tins just to buy that’s going to be the one who left it.
How can you do that sir? Well answer is everybody in the church age is going to be in the event of the rapture and the rapture The Rapture is really pictured to us in chapter 4 verse 1 of the book of Revelation where John says he saw a door open in heaven and he heard a voice that was like the Son of a trumpet. was Christ and it says, come up hither and from that point on the church is no longer mentioned in the book of Revelation as it is raptured out and then it says I’m going to show you the things which must be hereafter.
That is the future things of the tribulation period, the millennium and then eternity. The laity of the seeing church was not in danger of losing their salvation but they were in danger of losing their opportunity to be a light or a witness in the world. He says, you make me nauseous. He says, you make me want to throw up. You make me want to, the nice word I guess is regurgitate because he says that you are neither hot nor cold and because you’re lukewarm you make me nauseous.
And so he was telling them that he wanted them to benefit when he comes back, not suffer the loss of reward, but he says, you all think you’re doing fine, but he says you’re naked and wretched and blind and poor, but he says, I’m counseling you, verse 18 of Revelation 3, to buy of me gold, try it in the fire. He wanted them to be rich. In other words, the riches that really count are the riches that are given out at the judgment seat of Christ.
And when as a believer you live for Christ, you will have rewards that are going to be eternal given to you based upon your deeds. But this church was not going to lose salvation, but He said you are going to enter heaven with no rewards. And he says please, listen to my counsel. Jesus according to Isaiah 9, 6 is the one whose name is wonderful, counselor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. And he is counseling this church to get their life in order so that they can continue to be a light or a lampstand in this world.
But I think God is about ready to pull the plug in. It might be this year. He’s going to rapture all of us out, even though many don’t. And obviously we don’t deserve salvation nor do we deserve to be raptured. But it’s going to happen based on God’s grace. And we’re saved by grace, brother Atwell, through faith in Jesus Christ. This salvation is not of ourselves. It’s the gift of God and it’s not of works, lest any man should boast or brag.
It has nothing to do with our works. Good points and Brother Atwell, thanks for calling in today. We have now Kathleen in Tampa, Florida. Kathleen, welcome to the Bible. Hi, thank you. You’re on the air. Go ahead. Oh, hi, Dr. Listrom. I’m new to the Bible, so I was just wondering what it says in scripture about Lord Jesus showing himself to you in dreams. It doesn’t and I would be a little bit skeptical of anybody who claims that they’re having these dreams.
That’s happening a lot in some areas. I know this Todd Bentley in Lakeland, Florida says that he’s been caught up to heaven numerous times and he actually sat down with the Apostle Paul in his log cabin in heaven. I didn’t know they had log cabins in heaven but apparently Todd Bentley says he’s been there and I don’t know where this guy makes these things up but this is not to be expected, to be looked for, I would stay out of that area.
I think this is the area of the occult, and this is the area where demons and Satan seem to flourish. Don’t go there at all. You don’t need to have any of those kinds of communications because he reveals himself to us in Scripture. Even Peter, as he writes about the last days, talks about us loving Jesus even though we have not seen Him. And he knows that most of the people in this age from Pentecostal or Rapture will never ever see Christ until they see Him in heaven.
And yet he tells us here that we love Him, and I’ll read the verse here, it’s a beautiful It says here about his glorious appearing. In verse 7 of 1 Peter, in verse 80 says, when or rather whom having not seen you love in whom though you have not yet seen him yet believing you rejoice with joy and speakable and full of glory. So we’re not to be looking to see Christ until he appears. So if you’re seeing appearances, I think you might be getting full.
Satan is an angel of light. Second Corinthians 11 verse 14 says, Satan is an angel of light. angel of light and he will deceive people and you hear these stories of people that have had the life after death experiences and they see this angel of light. I think they’re seeing not Jesus, although they claim they’re seeing Jesus. I think they’re seeing Satan because the message coming back from these so-called appearances is usually always contrary to the Bible. That’s why you have to be really careful in the area of these kinds of things and I would say stay away from it, Kathleen.
Okay, thank you. You’re very welcome and I hope that helps. It’s a day of real craziness out there. And in any case we have John in St. Petersburg and he says, are you familiar with Stephen Kathy Gray? I think that they’re way off target. I would stay away from him. It says I heard him say that Martin Luther was a racist against the Jews. Well, guess what? Everybody that came out of the Reformation pretty much was anti-Jewish and this is because of preterism and replacement theology.
Back in the 5th century Augustine taught that God was through with Israel and that they were cursed and that the church has replaced Israel, this is called replacement theology and the Roman Catholic Church holds that doctrine to this very day and they have been very much anti-Semitic in their positions down through time. And obviously, I think more recently the Catholic Church is apologized to the Jews, but they have had that position. And most of the Protestant churches that came out of the Reformation held that same false teaching that came out of Roman Catholicism, that God was all through the Jews, and so therefore they are hated.
And you know, Jewish people are very difficult to reach with the gospel sometimes because they have been called the Christ killers. The Christ killers. And guess what? We all were our Christ killers. Everybody in the human race is responsible for Christ’s death because he died for your sins and mine and to try to hold the Jews totally accountable for that is wrong. The Gentiles are also responsible. And if you go back to the cross of Calvary, you know that the Jews delivered Christ to be crucified.
But it was Pilate, the one who represented the Gentile world government of the time, Rome, that actually produced the sentence against him. But at the same time, Jesus said, no man takes my life from me. I have the power to lay it down on myself, and I have the power to take it up again. Jesus Christ gave his life, but we’re all responsible because he died for every one of us. So you could say John Calvin, John Wesley, everybody that came out of the Reformation had this bent against the Jews and Roman Catholic Church has held that position down through time and Christ and the Jews have been called Christ killers as a result.
But we should love the Jew and we need to win them, they need to trust Christ and we need to bring the gospel to them and lead as many of them as we can to Christ. We have Joe in Pembert-Pines, Florida saying in Acts 1 it says, what does verse 7 mean? People who say we can’t know if we, they were close to the Lord’s return, can try to use this as a proof text. What it is saying is that at that particular point in time, God had not clearly revealed His plan for this present age.
But the kingdom that was promised is still going to take place. But as to the time of when that kingdom would appear, it obviously appears after the church age, which is 2,000 years in length, that began 10 days after that little discussion there in Acts 1. It happened after Christ ascends in verses 9, 10, and 11 of Acts 1, and it occurs 10 days later after that at Pentecost when the Holy Spirit came to indole the believers and begin this present age.
But after this age ends at the rapture, then The last seven years will tick off and then we’ll know exactly when that kingdom will be established because it established exactly seven years after the rapture. And that’s when it’ll be clear that it’s looming directly ahead once the people in the tribulation period are hearing the gospel. Hope that helps a little bit, Joe, and we’re at the end of the program here. I want to say again that we have a wonderful, wonderful addition to our website.
If you go to our online bookstore on the right side of every page, there’s a vertical banner on the right side that allows you to go to our music department, music for children, and we have six wonderful CDs that really enabled you to have a real input in your child’s life, your grandchild’s life, your nephew’s needs. It is so powerful. It has impacted my grandchild. 30 months old in such an incredible way.
