We’re going to turn to the Bible here and we’ll be taking a look at some scriptures and we hope you’ll turn in the Bible with us and you’ll be able to call in and we’ll get you up on the air and you’ll be able to ask your question here on Bibleline today. We are going to turn to 1 Thessalonians chapter 5 today which talks about the issue of can we know when the return of Christ at the Rapture is near?
It says in verse 1, of the times and seasons brethren, you have no need that I write unto you. Then it says in verse 2, for yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord. Now let me take a minute here to talk about that phrase the day of the Lord. The day of the Lord is a thousand year day that is about to take place. We believe it’s called the millennium, which millennium is two Latin words, million and a meaning thousand years.
Christ will actually rule on the earth for a thousand years and that is called the day of the Lord. In its technical usage, it’s only the thousand years, but in the broader sense it includes the seven years of the tribulation period that follow the rapture. That’s what’s taking place here in 1 Thessalonians chapter 5. The rapture happens, chapter 4, and then the day of the Lord begins, and it begins right after the rapture has happened. includes all of the seven years of the tribulation period and includes the thousand year earthly reign of Christ.
So it says here, yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord succumeth as a thief in the night. many people talk about. Hey, that means we can’t know because you don’t know when the thief is going to come. But notice verse 4 tells us clearly that believers are not going to be caught off guard as a thief would catch us off guard. It says in verse 4, but you brethren, you believers are not in darkness that that they should overtake you as a thief.
So we’re not to be surprised. We should be watching and looking and expecting and not surprise it all when Jesus returns we ought to say, Lord, we’ve been waiting and this is the moment we’ve been looking forward to and we shouldn’t be cut off guard at all. But the world, the lost, will be cut off guard. Let me read verse 4 again. You brethren, you believers are not in darkness that that day should overtake you as a thief. So the day of the Lord will not take us by surprise.
be expecting it, watching for it, it says in verse 5, you are all children of light and children of the day. We are not of night nor of darkness, so we have the light of God’s Word. We know of the times and seasons when Christ would return and we are there. You know Israel has been back in the land as a nation for 60 years. That’s right. Israel for two thousand years did not exist as a nation. They had no homeland.
But in May 14, 1948, Israel became a nation. And this very month, Israel has been celebrating her 60th birthday. That’s right. Israel has been a nation for 60 years this month, this year. Now, what do we know? In Matthew, it tells us that the generation living when Israel would become would not pass until Christ would return. Now Psalm 90 verse 10 tells us the length of a generation that’s 70 years, maybe 80, but 70. 3 score in 10 is the length of life that God has appointed to us humans.
And so if you add 70 in the 1948, that That takes you to ten more years because Israel now has been celebrating sixty years, but if you were talking about seventy years and we still got ten more years, that would be to the second coming. If you subtract the seven years of the tribulation period to bring us back to the rapture, that might mean we only have three more years left. I’m not a date setter, but certainly it’s interesting to speculate that we’ve got to be close.
We have to be in the times the Bible has spoken about. And the believer should not be caught off guard at all. You yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord is so coming to the thief of the night, but not for the believer. Verse 4 of 1st Thessalonians 5, you brethren are not in darkness that day should overtake you as a thief. We should not be caught off guard at all. Now verse 3 tells us one of the things that we can look for that people are going to be talking and saying when it’s time for Christ to return, for when they shall say peace and security.
Those terms are being tossed about a lot today, and when people are talking about peace on the earth, and in particular peace for Israel, a Middle East peace being solved. And guess what? President Bush says he wants to bring peace in the Middle East before he goes out of office this year. Wow. Could it be that this is the peace that the Bible is talking about? I don’t know. But definitely it says here when they shall say peace and security, then what?
The tribulation period will come upon them, then sudden destruction will come upon them as travail upon a woman with child and they shall not escape. In other words, just like a woman who is pregnant cannot escape the pain of childbearing, so will the world not escape the trials and tribulations and judgments of the tribulation period that will follow the rapture. Once the rapture has happened, they will experience sudden destruction, it says in verse 3, and it says, as travail upon a woman with child, they shall not escape.
You brethren are not in darkness that that day should overtake you as a thief. The Bible is really saying here we can know when the time is ready for Christ to come back. It’s interesting how there are signs apparently over in China before the earthquake there that took so many lives and still with the blocked rivers because of landslides threatens another million or so people with drowning. It’s incredible. But you know, there were pictures I saw on the internet of Millions of frogs that were on the move.
The frogs apparently knew prior to the earthquake ever taking place that something was up. Animals seemed to have this sense of knowing. There’s signs apparently that we’re not aware of that animals know and they begin to move before an earthquake. Well, God has given us signs about his return and I believe we can see him. The major sign is the return of the Jew back to the state of Israel. They have become a nation in their land again, and that affording to the Bible in the prophet Ozea defines the latter days.
The latter days are defined as when Israel would go back to their land and become a nation again. So we’re in the last days, and look at all the other things that are happening at the same time that lead us to believe that we’re getting close. Whatever your Christ comes back, I believe it will be in the fall on the Feast of Trumpets. will be this year, September 30th. If the Lord were to come this year, that’s probably the most likely date.
Now I didn’t set the date. I didn’t say he’s coming this year. But whatever your Christ comes, it’ll be on the Feast of Trumpets and this year it happens to fall on September 30th. What does that mean? You’ve got about four months left, and Jesus would be back if, if, if he comes this year. If he doesn’t come this year, I’ll be watching next year. We just said a moment ago, maybe it’s three years out, or who knows maybe even longer, but we’re in the times and seasons of Christ’s return.
I think we ought to not think that His coming will be far off because we ought to live in the excitement of His soon coming. It ought to motivate us to make every day count, not in order to be saved because we’re saved by what Christ did for us at the Cross of Calvary, but in order to have a full reward, in order to win as many people in our family and our loved ones to Christ as many as possible before the Lord comes back.
We ought to be busy serving and living for Christ as we watch for the Lord to return. It’s exciting. I believe that as we watch the newspapers, we’re watching the news catch up to the Bible as the Bible is tomorrow’s news today. If you haven’t trusted Christ as your Savior, you need to do that. It’s the most important decision you’ll ever make in your life. Your whole eternity is based upon whether or not you trust Jesus as your Savior.
Would you do it right now? Just tell the Lord, Lord, I am a sinner. I don’t understand much about the Bible. what i heard just now makes sense and i trust jesus christ right now as my savior as my only hope of heaven as the one who paid the sin debt that i owed and paid it in full by his death and shed blood at the cross was buried and rose again for the dead i trust jesus christ right now to save me would you do that it’s the most important decision you’ll ever make and by the way if you do that You will be in the Rapture if you are living when Christ returns, which is a good chance he will be.
We will meet in the air and get our new bodies, which is described in the previous chapter here in 1 Thessalonians 4. Today we are talking about chapter 5 that there is a sign, and there are many more, for the Rapture. One of the signs is that the world would be talking about peace and safety, probably for Israel and it’s being talked about right now and President Bush says he wants to bring it about before this year is out.
Could that be the peace that first us saloons 5-3 is talking about and then boom the rapture happens sudden destruction comes on the world and they’ll not escape it as to rail upon a woman the child will not escape it but we brethren are not going to be surprised if If we’re reading our Bible and paying attention, the signs are everywhere that Christ is about to return. I’m Dr. Englund’s chairman. We’re going to go to the phone lines. We’ve got people waiting to go here and we’re going to go all the way to Denver, Colorado and talk to Adam in Denver, Colorado.
Adam, welcome to my mind. You are on the air. Hey, thank you, Pastor. I have a question, a couple of questions in Matthew. The first one is Matthew 18 verses 21 and 22 about forgiveness, 70 times 70 or 70 times 7. Could you explain that for me? Well, we should be forgiving like God is forgiving. I think it’s an expression to mean that you just don’t stop forgiving. We need to always forgive others as God has forgiven us in Christ.
I love Ephesians 430, which tells us exactly that. We ought to forgive others even as Christ has already forgiven us. Think of all the things that we’ve done wrong in our lifetime and Jesus forgave them all as He took those sins and nailed them to the cross and paid for them by His death and shed blood and we ought to also be, if were to be God-like, be forgiving as well of those who sin against us. So I think that’s the answer.
Just keep on forgiving. Okay, so you don’t remember what I did. No, I wouldn’t take a log here and say, okay, I’m keeping you 400 and we’re getting close to the end here. I’m not going to forgive you anymore when I get to 75-7. Okay. My next question is in Matthew 2 verse 15. It says in there that if the Jewish people didn’t accept Christ as Messiah the first time, will they expect him to come out of Egypt as his verse?
I refer back to Hosea I believe. No, I don’t think so. It’s talking about a prophecy fulfilled of his first coming when he did go down to Egypt. And obviously the children of Israel coming out of Egypt were a picture of how a Redeemer would come out of Egypt. And that was Moses. And here the Redeemer for the world and for our sins, Jesus also comes out of Egypt. An interesting parallel. Okay. Good. I’ll be dead. How is there any way and get some the hymns that you talk about, the old hymns?
Do you have those available on CD or anything like that? We don’t have the old hymns, but we do have the hymnal that we use in our worship services here, which has the grand old hymns of the faith. And we offer that for sale in our bookstore. You can call and order it. I believe it goes for $20. They’ll ship it right out to you. Okay. Thank you very much for taking my call. Alright, thank you, Adam, in Denver, Colorado, and we’re now going to go to Tom in Tampa, Florida.
Tom, welcome to Bibleline. Good morning, I have potential. I appreciate your program. I would like to know the significance of the three sound or voice is that to be heard at the rapture? Well, you know, it says in 1st, that’s 11, it’s 4, 16. The Lord Himself showed the seven descend from heaven with a shout. We know that that shout probably is what will bring forth the bodies from the earth, the new bodies that the saints will get when they come back with Christ from heaven as they’re absent from the body present with the Lord but they’ll come back and get their new body.
You know when Jesus was at the grave of Lazarus in John 11 when he shouted, Lazarus, come forth. Lazarus came forth out of the grave. So I think that’s the picture there. Also it says here there will be the voice or the archangel. So apparently and the archangel which is Michael will also shout and announce this event. And then lastly, the Trump of God. So there’ll be a trumpet that will sound. And this trumpet perhaps is the trumpet that we move out on.
If you read in the book of, I think it’s an exodus, there were two trumpets they would sound. One would alert the people that God was about to move the camp in the wilderness, and they would pack up, and then the second Trump was the final Trump, the last Trump, when they would move out. And so then they would follow the Lord as his presence would be seen either in the pillar of fire at night or the cloud in the day.
And they would follow that pillar or that cloud depending on when God moved them at day or night. And they would follow that as he led them through the wilderness during those 40 years. So I think those are the three and that’s we’ll find out for sure what it all means when it happens but that’s probably what they all are about. I lost our caller. I think he decided to just listen off here. We’d love to have you call.
You can call us here at 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. And we’re going to take a couple of our off-air questions here. We have several and we have a caller from Sarasota, Florida. And he gives us this off your qu- And so we’ll see what he says here. He says, my friend is a Christian dad. He’s going to meet his Mormon son in Utah. He needs questions to ask his son about his faith of Mormonism. He’s leaving for Utah tomorrow. Needs help.
Well, there’s a couple of things. First of all, the Jesus of Mormonism is not the Jesus of the Bible. To be saved, you have to believe on the Jesus of the Bible. And the Jesus of the Bible. The Jesus of the Bible according to the scriptures is God. He’s got to took on human flesh. John’s gospel is so wonderful and has a lot of reference to that. It says in John 1-1, in the beginning was the Word. The Word was with God and the Word was God.
Then it says verse 14, and the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. God actually came to the earth and took on human flesh. And it says in John 1, 12, to as many who has received Him, that is the Jesus that is the God of creation who took on flesh at Bethlehem and died on the cross of Calvary. When you receive Him, God gives you the authority to become born again to become His sons. The Mormons also, I believe in salvation by works, water baptism and many other things are essential.
And obviously that’s completely conjured to the Bible. Ephesians 2 8 and 9 says salvation is not of yourself. It’s not of works. Let’s say he mentioned boast. It is the gift of God. So you might want to use just a couple of verses. John 3 16, along with John 1 12, and the fact that Jesus is introduced in John’s gospel is being God. And then the fact that salvation is not of works. And if you can handle those issues right there, you’ve got it made.
I hope that helps and thank you for calling in with that question and we’ll pray for your son that he’ll come to know Christ. We have John in Riverview Florida and John Riverview Florida in Riverview Florida. Welcome to Bibleline thank you not for answering to you all the time. That’s Dr. Lindstrom, I was concerned I hear about the 12 tribes scattered abroad when I read in the New Testament. And then I hear about, I read about the return of Israel in 1948 back to their land.
I’m not I’m not sure if I understand when did they leave the light. Okay, there are two dispersions spoken of in the Bible. There’s one when Nebuchadnezzar came against Israel. Actually, the Assyrians came and took away the 10 northern tribes around 700 years BC. And then Nebuchadnezzar came against Jerusalem and BC 606 and took the southern two tribes away captive into Iraq. And so those Jews have been what we call the dysphora, and many of them went back and were there in the time of Christ.
And many of those became Christians and James writes in his letter in James in New Testament to the 12 tribes scattered abroad. So he writes to those Jews that were scattered abroad that trusted Christ as their Savior and gives them instruction in the book of James. But there was a second dispersion greater than the first. It happened in 8070 when the Romans came and destroyed Jerusalem and whatever Jews they didn’t kill they put on the slave market and they have been scattered for the past 2000 years and they have been really virtually a desolate land without the Jews for the past 2000 years.
But what is interesting is that the Bible talks about in the Old Testament a return from that second dispersion would be the time when the Messiah or Jesus would come back. Let me give you the verse in Isaiah 11 verse 11 and it says it shall come to pass in that day. The Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people which shall be left from Assyrian and all the islands and coast of the earth.
Let me say goodbye to Miami. Miami, we’re so glad to have you all on the air, listening down there in South Florida. God bless you all and join us every day. We’ll be back again on Monday. Again, you can help my blind and finish out this month by calling and giving a gift by credit card over the phone. We have wonderful passengers like that to tell us about two dispersions. One, He had been a way to pretend the basic way back around the time of the Assyrians.
He took away the 10 northern tribes and the southern tribes around 600 years before Christ. Then a return after the 70 years of captivity, but not all returned. In 87, that was a total dispersion. Rome put everybody on the slave market. sold about if they weren’t. weren’t already killed and so the return today is that second return that Isaiah speaks about that is the final return and then Jesus comes back. Hope that helps. Yes, it does. Thank you very much.
All right, you’re welcome and we now have Dave in Tampa, Florida. Dave, welcome to Bible and you’re on the earth. I have a question about how you recognize the Bible that in a Jewish language and there There is actually no J, that’s the time of Jesus and Joshua and Yahweh. And we hear from you as far as recommending team games version and some of the translations that are made and letters that are used are incorrect if translated directly. I agree and nobody really knows for sure how to pronounce his name but what we are doing you is giving an English pronunciation.
So it’s Yahweh but the Y sound is pronounced as a J in English and that’s really what’s going on there. We have to go to break name. I hope if you want to continue this you just hold on and we’ll talk about it when I get back from break. Hold your radio right where it is and don’t let that dial change and we’ll come back back into a second half hour and God bless you. Thank you all for tuning in today.
We’ll do another second half hour and then we’ll be gone for the weekend and come back on Monday. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well I’m Dr. Englund’s chairman. It’s great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning in to the broadcast we appreciate you and all of our listeners and look forward to being with you every day we’re so excited about the different things that are happening with Bible and and the fact that the web has just given us a worldwide outreach 156 countries have logged on to Bibleline.org and you can log on as well and you can click on the spinning globe get radio click on the TV set get TV and you can click on the camera and get our television of our worship services.
And by the way, you can get our worship service live Sunday morning by going there at 11 o’clock and clicking on. You’ll see some clouds going by. You’ll hear the old rugged cross. And as soon as I begin the message, the video and the audio will come up. Last weekend, we had a group up in Kentucky at a family reunion in the mountains of a state park. And at the Buckhorn Lodge, they had a big screen projector. They hooked up to the internet and a number of the people there came at the invitation of one of the family members who loves by the line and they all sat around and one of them apparently raised their hand although I couldn’t see them.
They’re looking at a TV screen but they said it was clear, perfect and at least one got saved. And so, wow, we’re excited and we hear these stories from really around the world. You can watch our worship service on Sunday or watch in an archive. Last Sunday’s sermon is sitting there. You can watch it any time of day or night and you can go back and catch a year’s worth of sermons and I hope you will. Our radio programs, we have two years sitting there for you to look at and lots of our television programs I believe we could keep you real busy if you go to our website BibleLineMinistries.org.
So you can go to our online bookstore and take a look at all the resources we have, Bibles and commentaries and CDs and things that will really help you, I believe, grow. And these are things that I have personally approved. I have bought a lot of books, thousands of books in my lifetime, and most of them are not worth a whole lot, and I wish I had not wasted my money. And so what we will do for you is if you order from our resource center, you’ll get books that are the best of the best and you’ll get the most value for your investment when you buy some books to learn God’s Word.
But of course the greatest book is the Bible. We have that Schofield, the original, the 1909 or 1917 editions which are unpoluted and not watered down as some of the Newerons are. So you can call and get those and we’ll ship them right out to you. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. We’re going to rejoin the stations that have been on break and do the second half hour Bibleline. So keep your radio tuned right here. And we’re going to be by blind part two right now.
Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. All right, we’re back from that break. And this is a Bible and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida. Where on the pastor you’re invited to come by and visit us anytime. If you want to come by on a Sunday you can come by and worship with us.
We’d love to have you. Our worship service begins at 10 30 in the morning. If you have internet you can catch it anywhere in the world. So that means if you live in another state, another town, another place you’ll be able to catch our worship service anytime of day or night and you can catch it live on Sunday morning if you go there at 11 and wait and are patient and as soon as I begin the message the audio in the video will come up and you’ll be able to watch.
I hope you’ll do that and I hope you’ll enjoy. We’re talking to Dave in Tampa, Florida and the question about how to pronounce God’s name, you know it’s interesting when we talk about different languages Dave. For example, the J in Spanish is pronounced in English. We pronounce it Jose instead of with a J sound. And even Jesus, we pronounce it Jesus. So there’s an H sound instead of a J sound. So these are language difficulties and I don’t think God is terribly upset about that as long as we are believing in the God of the Bible and this is his name as it translates into another language.
And we do have those differences and we just have to wait and see what God says when we get to the same one day. But actually nobody even knows how to pronounce God’s name. It’s four consonants in the Hebrew YHWH and that is most often pronounced today as Yahweh. They put two vowels, A and E between the YHWH. So it’s YHWH, pronounce Yahweh and we’ll have to wait until we get to heaven to see to see if we get it right and uh…
little quick question you i’ve already recommended several or remember the only thing the translation became games what’s your thoughts on the bowinger translation the bollinger study bible if you’re familiar with it well i don’t like the bones are because uh… he’s uh… i think it’s a hyper-disimaginous but the Scofield what I like and the Scofield Bible’s notes are excellent Bye bye.
and the notes are all geared to doctrine. In other words, most Bibles have biographical, geographical, historical type of data. They’re wonderful for Bible trivia. But when you want to know about redemption, salvation, glorification, predestination, evolution, inspiration or whatever, angels, demons, the Scofield notes are geared to those doctrines and it’s powerful. Okay, yesterday, and I know that the early church had some hymns. I was wondering what’s the difference between the hymns and the Lord. What I was trying to say is that the early church didn’t have it at all and the focus has now shifted to, it’s almost all that, in very little word at all.
Whereas the early church came together, if you read Acts 2.41, they came together, steadfastly, one for apostles doctor which is scripture so that was the number one thing they were looking for they weren’t i had a guy do then write a church he says do you have a man you know what kind of music you have that was the only thing he was focused on he was not focused on the word at all and that’s the problem today is that our everybody’s being attracted to the church not for the word of god but for the entertainment of for the music of the praise and worship well get right we should work out there are The point I was going to say was that we sure we love to sing the old traditional hymns and we do all that but we that’s not our focus our focus here is the word of
God. Thank you. All right. Thank you Dave and we have another day Dave. It’s Dave Dave Dave and we have Dave in Plant City Dave. Welcome to Bibleline your own the year. Good morning Dr. Hank it’s always a pleasure to talk to you and how are you today. Good. Good, great. I got three questions I’d like to ask you today. I heard one of the earlier callers mention trumpets and I hear a lot of people that I talk to.
They think the trumpets and revelations are the same trumpets and Corinthians and in Thessalonians and when I look at one of those books for Reddit, the 9 A.D., and how could those trumpets be? Those people think those trumpets are in any kind of relationship. Well, they’re not for a number of reasons, but also the seven trumpets won’t sound until after the rapture during the tribulation period. And as I mentioned earlier, it’s really referring to the last trump being the trump that they would move out on.
When the first trump was sounded, they were alerted to pack their bags and get ready to move because God would be able to move the camp in the wilderness. on the last Trump, the second Trump, they moved. They actually began movement and moved out to the new location. And so it is the phrase, the expression, the last Trump is the Trump on which we move. When that happens, we’re going to go up and meet the Lord of the Year.
Does Psalm 81-3 or anything mention of the Trumpet there? I don’t think so at all. No, I don’t think the Rapture is in the Old Testament. Okay. But 90-10 Psalms that you mentioned, what does the verse of the wild way? 80 years and of course some people live now even more than 80 years. It’s talking about that God might bless you with longer than 70 years but the actual length of time that God has given for us to live is 70.
That’s the average time that He’s appointed for man to live. And then of course our souls fly away to heaven. We are going to die and go to be with the Lord. So it’s talking about 70 years, 80 years, maybe a little bit longer than you’re going to go. Thank you so much and you have a great day and God bless you and your ministry. Thank you Dave and that was Dave in Plant City. We have Anthony down in Sarasota, Florida and Anthony.
Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hello Anthony. Yes, good morning Dr. Lynch. I had a question regarding the book of James chapter 2 verse 11 forward. This is speaking about faith without works is dead. I just wanted to know if you can explain a little bit on this verse and I’ll go ahead and hang up the list. Sure. He talks all the way through the book to believers. He calls him my brother and my brother and my brother and my brother.
Verse 14 of chapter 2 says, what does it profit my brother? He’s talking to believers. He’s also talking about the judgment seat of Christ. He’s not talking about unsaved people, how to be saved. He’s talking to saved people about how to come out on top of the judgment seat of Christ. He says in verse 12, so speaky and so do ye as they they’ll be judged by the perfect law of liberty. That’s the Judge of the City of Christ when you’re going to be judged.
You’ve had liberties that you’ve been saved to make choices. And if you choose the life of the Lord, you’re going to be rewarded. If you don’t have any works, you’ll not be rewarded. In verse 14, he talks about profit. That’s reward. It’s earned. Salvation is without exception. Always spoken of as the gift of God, which is not earned. It was purchased by God through Christ’s death and shed blood, but rewards or profit or gain come as a result of our efforts as we live for Christ after we’re saved.
And James says even if you have faith, but have no works, it will not save you. Verse 14, not from hell, he’s talking about the consequences of the judgment seat of Christ. It will not save you from the loss of reward. It will not save you from the embarrassment. It will not save you from the regret. It will not save you from the sorrow, it will not save you from the tears, and it goes on and on. All of the consequences of you not having any works as a saved person.
You’ll still be saved from hell, but you will not be saved from the consequences of that judgment, which will be obviously a real rude awakening for those that have not lived for Christ. They will have no rewards in heaven. They will be embarrassed. They will be obviously regretful and tearful and it’s not until after the thousand year reign of Christ that God comes over and wipes away those tears. You’ll read Revelation chapter 21 verse 4 that the Lord comes over in person and wipes the way the tears from our eyes.
But there will be tears I believe for a time in heaven as we regret what we didn’t do for the Lord while we were able to. that answers your question and helps a lot Anthony. And thank you for your call. We’re now going to go to Michael in Riverview and Michael, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yes, question is. Say that again. Thank you. My question is today is that about the baptism. I know that there are several types of baptism.
I want to find out. Well, I believe you ought to be water baptized as a believer, but not to earn salvation or be a part of it. But as a testimony, it’s a way of outwardly expressing the fact that you’ve been cleansed of your sin by the blood of Christ. It marks the new beginning of Christ. the new beginning of life that you have as a believer in Christ that now you can live for Christ and earn rewards in heaven and really represent the Lord here in this world.
And I baptize people every year. We baptized some just a couple of weeks ago. I baptized 12 this year in Israel in the Jordan River by immersion. And it’s a testimony. But water does not save. Nobody’s ever been saved by water baptism. Right. Now, I also want to know the difference, I know the symboliseness back in Matthew 28 and talks about good and the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. So I need to know the difference and what is the set difference between what Peter said and what that’s a big argument.
Yeah. I Yeah, I think that’s an argument that goes nowhere. If you’ll notice Matthew 28, 19, it says, baptize them in the name singular of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. They don’t have the same name. Jesus is Jehovah or Yahweh. The Father is Jesus or rather is Jehovah or Yahweh. in all his spirit is Jesus or Yahweh, they all have the same name. And I think that’s just not an argument worth going into. I baptize saying in the name of the Father of the Son of the Holy Spirit, but some just say I baptize you in the name of Jesus, which I don’t think it makes a difference.
You’re very welcome and God bless you. Thank you for calling in Michael in Riverview, Florida. We now have Phil in Largo, Florida and Phil, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yes, Dr. For a long time and I wrote into your website what we would be thinking the Bible has been revealed and you had referred me to true. That’s true. Okay, exactly. Now, will we serve just and the new Jewish woman on earth? Will we be expanded throughout the heavens?
I don’t know. We just have to guess at that, but obviously it does tell us that we’ll serve it as temple day and night. So we’ll have things to do that will be very fulfilling and work does not occur. The curse came after the fall in the garden and they were already, Adam was already given the job of tending to the garden prior to the curse. And the curse simply made work hard where you’d have to sweat to produce the crop whereas before it was a piece of cake.
So we will work in heaven. It’s very going to be very satisfying and God will give us jobs that will be very satisfying. each one of us will enjoy what we’re doing and we’ll keep busy. Right. I’m aware of all that. I was from the original Daily. The other thing I was wondering though is that because God is omnipresent and wherever He is we’re going to be, that we’d be able to go through the universe, you know, like not necessarily like Star Trek, but I mean, you know, I think we’ll move it to speed of thought and there could be dimensions there and this type of thing.
And I was wondering if we would be limited just to the New Jerusalem and heaven and I would work on that. it doesn’t say that we find to i’m sorry it doesn’t say that i i don’t doubt that we’ll be able to explore the whole universe and be wonderful one other question and that is uh… i believe that i should be coming up very soon to an i’d jackman and be set up beautiful thing the other night saying that they’ve not been looking for the signs anymore you’re looking for the shout could be believed so close but uh…
do you do you believe the anti-crisis right after that there will be some time And also the temple will that be built directly after? No, we’re both a timeline of the rapture if we believe that the antichrist could be riding soon or whatever. I think things are happening right now that are preparing the way that it happens immediately. As soon as the rapture happens, the antichrist then begins to openly move toward trying to grab the world under his power and authority.
And the temple stones have already been cut. We might have Gershaun Solomon back here in September. He’s the man who’s been cutting them since the six day war and and he’s got two big cornerstones And we’ve had him here before but everything’s done. I was just in his a couple of months ago. We saw The implements for worship we saw the menorah we saw everything it’s all ready to go and it’s just a matter of a political decision allowing them to build a temple and it’ll be underway so I think it happens immediately.
There is no time lager or time break between the rapture and when the events of the tribulation period start happening. already seen the ground were clade and it’s been happening really over a hundred years the Jewish people going back becoming a nation sixty years ago and the developments and things in Israel and the things in the world of the nations lining themselves up as they are are all the events that would lead up to the battle of Armageddon the price of all of the oil of the pump is causing the nations to focus on that oil and obviously there’ll be war in the Middle least and we’re seeing it all come together.
All I totally agree. The one thing I want to, when the rapture does happen, doesn’t the any Christ get noticed because he is able to explain the way that phenomenon? Yeah, so he’ll be around and he will go through it. He doesn’t necessarily have to be in power. He’ll just be a man of great influence and elegance and charm and he can explain that away and doesn’t that kind of put him on a national scene? Oh yeah, I think he’s already on a national scene.
We might be looking at him right now. I don’t know who he is. I don’t know if we’re close. He’s already ready to go, I think. I totally agree. Okay. Well, thank you very much. You have a nice weekend. I love your show. Thanks a lot. Phil in Largo. We now have Anonymous from Jacksonville, Florida. Anonymous. Welcome to Bible End. Good morning, Dr. Lancer. I have two questions and I’ll hang up and listen. First about the Bible translation. I have one that my southern Baptist preacher friend gave me.
the new Christian version, the NCV, I guess that’s the new Christian version. It’s put out by Max Clekato and I’ve been reading and it seems like it’s pretty good. It just has a lot of very clear English the way we seek now in America. So I compared a lot to the King James and it seems like it’s okay but I want to know if you don’t think about it. Written by Max Clekato, I think of a group of men with him that did it and Thomas Nelson publisher.
The second question is what about the part in the Bible where it says that Jesus won’t return and all these signs we see happening but he won’t come back until the gospel frees to all the world and right now they claim that there’s still remote areas of the jungle places that have not heard the word yet so you know you wonder how much longer that would be and as babies keep being born they’ll never hear so it seems like you know the gospel doesn’t actually fully get preached to all the world because the newer generations and I’m going to hang up and listen thank you to have a good day sir.
I’m not really familiar with that next locator Bible the new Christian Bible But I’ll do some homework on that and we’ll check it out there coming out with newbins all the time And it’s so hard to keep up with everything that’s going on But as far as the gospel being preached in all the world if you read that carefully in Matthew 24 14 Is talking about the gospel of the kingdom? That’s not being preached now But after the rapture the gospel of the kingdom the fact that the kingdom is about to be set up the Christ will be coming back shortly shortly and rule and reign on this earth, that will be preached in the other world.
So it’s not even talking about now. That’s really misapplied by many evangelists right now that are trying to tell you that if you give your money and help them spread the gospel into another country or into another remote area, that will speed up the return of Christ. That’s nonsense. Christ is going to come right on schedule and is really talking near Matthew 24 of the the gospel of the kingdom that will be preached which is not being preached now in all the world prior to christ second coming and so that’s what that’s talking about thank you for your call uh…
anonymous in jackson bill florida we don’t have matthew in spring hill florida and matthew welcome to bible and you’re on the air morning and com i have a question there’s a decent amount of people out on our online community and part of in the form of aliens and imparted them knowledge on how to build things mathematical knowledge astronomical knowledge uh… i’m just curious that your thoughts on angels uh… if god has anything about an angel’s alien sorry uh… what god has to say about the bible and uh…
that’s just nonsense thank you uh… i think it’s all nonsense myself the there are angels uh… fallen and those that are the jester god’s angels but uh… I don’t believe that there are any other creatures in space except for the ones that God has created, the cherub, the serum, and the angels as we know them and all the other plant and animal life on the planet and of course man. So I think that is all not true. And of course they’re just looking for different ways to explain our past without going to the scripture.
And obviously that’s man’s way and Satan’s way. Of course to try to explain things without going to the Word of God. I think that you’ll not find anything there and that one day they’ll also discover that was a rabbit trail that took them in the wrong direction. We’re now going to go to Ann in Lake Mary, Florida, and Ann. Welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Air. Well, thank you very much for taking my call. Good morning. Good morning. I’ve gone to many religions, many churches in my pursuit of truth.
My question that I never really seemed to get a satisfying answer. I understand why Jesus got resurrected really gave credence to the fact that he was the Messiah, the fourth-old Messiah. Why is there a need for resurrection if mankind’s ultimate destination is either heaven or hell or in some cases the Capitorian limbo? Well, there is no purgatory limb, those are invented doctors, but obviously we’re going to lose this body and we’re going to get new bodies. The saved will get their new bodies at the return of Christ, the unsaved will get their new bodies after the Millennial Kingdom is over when they’re brought up out of Hades and their reunited soul and body and then cast in that body into hell.
This body would not withstand hell, but apparently the body that the lost will get one day will be able to withstand the flame and torment of hell forever and ever and ever. And of course we who get our resurrection bodies, these bodies will exist forever and they’ll be perfect and they’ll be our servants. Whereas right now, oftentimes we’re serving our body when we feel the need to eat, we run to the refrigerator and when we get hot, we run inside the air conditioning and so on and our bodies dictate a lot of what we do.
But in heaven, that will not be through our bodies, will be slaves to us and do whatever we decide that we want to do. And it’s going to be wonderful. I appreciate that Chris 528 and 29 brings out that the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice, meaning the voice of Jesus and come out. doesn’t that indicate that it would be an earthly resurrection, that they would be in their tombs? Well, the new bodies will spring forth from the earth, but what that passage doesn’t reveal is the time interval between the two.
If you read Revelation 20, it talks about the saved dead, getting the resurrection bodies first, and then it says the rest of the dead live not again until thousand years were finished, Revelation 20 verse 5. So the unsaved they’d get their resurrection bodies a thousand years after the saved do and they will come forth out of the planet earth. So if God needs the very same molecules that were part of your body here now to resurrect and to be a part of your new body, I don’t know, but if you did, I think it’s no problem for him and he’s going to do that.
Well, thank you for your help. Okay, the new body will be physical and it will therefore it will come forth from the earth and I believe that’s the answer. We have Rodney in Lakeland, Florida. Rodney, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the earth. Hey Hank, how are you doing? We haven’t been out there in quite a while. Mainly due to these gas prices, we easily came out there and we enjoy your service very much. But at least we’re able to catch you on the radio.
Anyway, I guess I have more of a comment, really, than a question and I guess there’s kind of a question in there too, how to deal with the situation. This so-called revival thing going on in lakeland uh… i happen to work right across the street from that church that’s involved in it and coming contact with people that are all wrapped up in the smith and it’s just it’s almost here when you talk to them because i try to you know tell them basically Basically this is all.
It’s just really sad, you know, because you can point out things and it’s like infuriating. You know, the people are being misled and just… I know, all kinds of crazy things. And of course Todd Bentley’s 50 million dollar jet sitting over here in Tampa for him to go anyplace he wants. This is a crazy world we’re living in and much deception and obviously if it were really true that they could heal, they ought to really hit the hospitals here in the area and go floor by floor and room by room and empty the mountains.
empty them out. They can’t do that. But the main issue is the gospel and they don’t have the gospel right. They all believe in a lose your salvation gospel, which really means they’re trusting in their works and these people are not saved. That’s why they’re blinded and they have that glazed look because they don’t know the Lord and that they would claim their Christian and obviously they’re being misled. Rodney, I’m out of time. We are going to close out the day.
