It will be a wonderful camp. And by the way on our radio page if you click on the spinning globe on our internet site BibleLineMinistries.org there’s a place set up right there for you to leave your offer your question It makes it really simple.

It’s all ready to go. Just type in your question. question and hit submit. Most Christians don’t realize how serious it is to add to what Jesus Christ has finished. It’s the difference between whether a person is saved or not saved. If you were to be on a dock and were to step off onto a small boat, would you be trusting the boat if you only had one foot on the boat? No, because you still have a foot on the dock.

What if you had both feet on the little boat but you had both hands on the dock? Would you be trusting the little boat? No you wouldn’t because you still have your hands on the dock. What if you have both feet on the boat and only one hand on the dock? You still wouldn’t be trusting the boat. Well what if you had both feet on the boat and just your hands on a rope tied to the dock? You still wouldn’t be trusting the boat because you’re still connected to that dock.

You know, it’s not until you totally cut all ties, all ropes, all means of connection to the dock that you’re actually trusting the boat to hold you up. And until you cut all ties, until you trust Jesus Christ alone, according to the Bible, you are not saved. That’s right. The Bible actually says if you add any works then you will not have any mercy and therefore you will not be saved. You know we are saved by grace. The Bible is very clear about that in Ephesians 2.8 it says 4 by grace.

By grace that means mercy, unmerited favor. Are you saved? It says through faith in Jesus Christ, Ephesians 2.8. Now grace by the Bible is really the absence of any works. Let’s go to the definition. Romans 11, 6, you have your Bible there, open it up. And mark this down, at least right now in the reference of looking up later, but Romans 11, 6 says, and if by grace, then it is no more of works. Otherwise, grace is no more grace.

In other words, they’re opposites and you can’t mix the two. Then it goes on to say in Romans 11-6, but if it be of works, then it’s no more grace, otherwise work is no more work. Let me say that again. If I grace, then it’s no more of works, otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it’s no more grace, otherwise work is no more work. What did I just say? Sounds confusing. I know Romans 11-6, but in saying that grace and works are the exact opposite of one another, you cannot mix the two.

If you were to graph grace and works, you’d have grace to one side and works on the other side separated by infinity. That’s right. They would never come together, never meet ever. You can’t put grace and works together, or you no longer have grace, nor do you have works. It is a mixture. And you can’t do that to be safe. The Bible is actually talking about salvation there in Revelation, excuse me, Romans chapter 11 verse 6, and it says, And if by grace, then it’s no more of works.

So you can’t add any works to grace, or you won’t have any grace. And that means you won’t have any mercy when you stand before God. You know, if you have no grace, you’re going to wind up in hell, because we’re only saved by God’s grace. We’re not saved by our works. reminds me that lady went to the photographers you had these pictures taken she got the proofs back and she was just absolutely love it she was angry she was mad she marches back down to the photographer and slams those proofs on his desk and says these pictures don’t do me justice in the photographer looked up at her and said lady you don’t need justice you need mercy Well you know, that’s the case with salvation because if we got justice, every one of us would go to hell.

If you’ve got what you deserved, if I got what I deserved, we’d all go to hell. It says in the book of lamentations in the Old Testament, if it were not for the mercies of God, we would all be destroyed. That’s right, we’d all go to hell. Not one kid in a heaven, we’re all disqualified for heaven because we’ve all sinned and have all come short of the glory of God. of God, and if we paid the penalty for sin, we’d have to go to hell.

You don’t want justice. Because that would mean you’d go to hell. You want God’s mercy and it’s only three is grace. Only three is mercy that you’re saved. And what is so scary that people don’t realize in Romans 11 6 it says if it be of works then it is no more of grace. No more of mercy. If you add any works to salvation my friend you don’t have it. Let me just say this. If I had a glass of absolutely pure distilled water.

I want to offer it to you. I’m sure you’d have no hesitation in taking that glass and drinking it down. Absolutely pure crystal clear water. You would not hesitate to drink it at all. But if you were to watch me, take and just put one drop of a deadly poison in that water and I tried to hand it to you. Would you accept it or refuse it? I think you’d refuse it, wouldn’t you? Why? That one drop of poison would contaminate the whole glass and you no longer have a glass of pure distilled crystal water, but you would have a glass of poison.

The same thing is true as if you had God’s grace offered to you, and God, by the way, offers his grace to everyone and someone or yourself were to add one work to that grace, saying that there’s one work or one thing you had to do, guess what? You would violate grace and it would poison it and you would no longer have grace. I believe a lot of people who think they’re going to heaven are not going to go to heaven because they have added something to what Christ has done.

Christ plus anything equals nothing because if you add to what Christ did then you have violated God’s plan of salvation which is by grace and it will equal no salvation at all. You know in the book of Galatians it says Christ has become of no effect unto you. This is the verse that says by the way you are fallen from grace. I was in a Christian bookstore and I heard a discussion going on the other side of the aisle of books there.

This one man was talking about how you could lose your salvation and he said to the other person, you can fall from grace. I couldn’t stand it. I had to walk around. I just kind of butted my way right into the conversation. I said, do you know where that says that in the Bible that you can fall from grace? Well neither one of them knew. And I said, why don’t we pick a Bible off the shelf here and let me share with you where it’s at.

That verse you are fallen from grace is not talking to a say person, it’s talking to a lost person. It says in Galatians 5-4, Christ is become of no effect unto you, and then it defines to whom it is speaking. It says whosoever of you are justified by the law or by works. It says you are fallen from grace. In other words, grace is offered to a person, but if you attempt to be saved by works, you’ll have no grace, just like we said in Romans 11, 6.

If you are offered God’s grace, which is mercy, unmerited favor, and it is always offered in the absence of any human work, and you add any work to it, Christ will count nothing for you, and you are fallen from grace. But then it’s interesting, in the very next verse in Galatians chapter 5 is where we It tells us and it switches gears here and it talks now to Christians and it says in verse 5 here For we Through the spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith if you’ll notice relations 5 4 It says you you you you you you you you and in verse 5 it says we we we we we we we we This is called rightly divided in the word of truth.

Verse 4 is talking to the lost. It says, Christ has become of no effect unto you, and then it defines who the you is. It says, Whose whoever our view are justified by the law or by works, you are the ones that are fallen from grace. Verse 5, though, it switches now as the writer of Galatians, which is the apostle Paul, all includes himself, but we, we, we, we, we, we, we, in verse 5, through the Spirit, wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

We weren’t hoped by the way there means an expectation that you’re certain is going to take place, that you excitedly anticipate. The English word hope, I’m afraid, sometimes means doubtful. I hope that it doesn’t rain today. I hope my car has enough gas in it to get me to the gas station. Or I hope my tire doesn’t go flat again this week. Well, those are all wrong use of the word hope. The biblical word means something short, something expected, something anticipated, something that you’re looking forward to.

And Galatians 5, 4, is not talking about a saved person being lost. Once you’re saved, my friend, you’re saved forever. You cannot be lost. But the sad thing is a lot of people who think they’re saved are not saved because they have fallen from grace in the sense that God has offered grace mercy to them. It says in Ephesians 2, 8, by grace are you saved through faith in Jesus Christ? If you say, no, I’ve got to do this.

I’ve got to do that. You had one work to grace. You no longer have grace. And so Christ will count nothing for you. And you are fallen from grace. But the believer waits for the righteousness which is by faith. And there’s quite a difference. I am pleading for souls because a lot of people are mixed up and they are trusting in Jesus’ life. trusting in Jesus plus. Christ plus baptism means you’re not saved. If you’re trusting in water baptism, he gets you to heaven, my friend, you’re not going to make heaven.

Christ plus church membership means you’re not going to be saved. If you’re trusting in that, surely you ought to be a member of a church and you truly ought to be water baptized after you’re saved, but if you’re trusting in that, to get you to heaven, my friend, you will not be saved. And we could go on and the list could be dozens of things that people are trusting in in addition to faith in Christ. Christ plus living the Christian life would mean you’d go to hell.

I believe every Christian ought to live the Christian life, but I’m living the Christian life not because I think I have to do that to be saved. If I didn’t live for Christ one single day, I would be saved because I’ve trusted in the finished work of Christ at the cross. He paid my sin debt in full, and therefore I’m completely saved as the Bible says in the book of Hebrews. He saves us to the uttermost, the Bible says in the book of Hebrews.

Somebody once said, he saves from the guttermost to the uttermost, certainly all of us are in that category. I hope you’ve trusted Christ in Christ alone. Then yes, out of gratitude, out of thankfulness, live for Him every day of your life, but you don’t get saved when you trust in your works plus Christ. You have to trust Christ alone. It’s by faith alone in Christ alone that you’re saved. I’m Dr. Hank Dinsen, we’re We’re going to go to the phone lines.

We’d love to hear from you if you have a question. Call us at 1-800-576-3771. Alright we have some offer questions. I’m going to grab a couple of real quick here. We have Clarence in Tampa, Florida. Clarence leaves us offer a question. What are the qualifications of any for someone to perform a baptism? Well, I don’t believe there are any set down in the scripture. If there were just two of you on a remote part of the earth and one got saved, the other saved one would certainly be able to perform a baptism.

But I think also that it is definitely a very spiritual and special event. And so I think it ought to be treated as such. I know one man said, I want to baptize my wife and I’m going to do it in the bathtub. Well, I thought that was kind of irreverent and certainly not going to be a very spiritual event. When we do water baptisms, and I’ve baptized a lot of people by immersion, we usually like to do it outdoors in a lake.

It’s so beautiful outdoors and so biblical. But we always take time to make sure that the candidate is safe. We try to make sure that they really understand what they’re doing. that the water baptism does not save them, but is a testimony of the fact they’ve been cleansed of their sin by the blood of Christ, and that if they were not water baptized they would still be saved. But they are encouraged and abiable to observe this ceremony, which is a testimony of their faith to publicly come out and declare that they are a believer that even cleansed of their sin by the blood of Christ.

So I… I think that you’d want to be baptized by somebody that was a spiritual mentor of some sort, a pastor or spiritual leader of some sort. You read 1st Corinthians chapter 14, beginning in verses 9 through verse 17, it talks about water baptism in there, it talks about Paul baptizing, Peter baptizing, and different leaders baptizing. But if you didn’t have anyone like that around, certainly I think another believer could baptize someone. But I think it would be almost better to wait and do it right.

So it’s an experience you can look back upon where you bid the Lord’s bidding by being water baptized in a way that it’s going to be a memorable spiritual experience for you. It doesn’t save you, but I believe you’re on to do it. We’re going to go to Kathy and Newport, Richie, and Kathy. Welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Air. Good morning. Pastor, my question is all my life I’ve heard, everything in the Bible question, except for the point of the Jews wandering through the desert for all those years.

The other day I heard that question and I was wondering if that is also an historical fact as well as a Bible fact? Well, of course it is. You have the Jewish people who came out of Egypt. Then because they didn’t really believe the report of Joshua and Caleb, there were 12 spies sent out and ten of them came back with a false report and basically said that the land was not concurable, that the walls went right up to heaven and the people they were so big they were like giants and they could never concur.

They had just conquered the world’s superpower. God had defeated the Egyptian army there in the Red Sea and here they didn’t have faith to trust that God would give them the land. And so God said, okay, I’m going to let this generation die. And they wandered into wellness for 40 years. And the Bible stands and falls together. Obviously these experiences are also endorsed in the New Testament. And so if they’re not true, then the Bible is not the word of God, it is not the truth.

And you might as well like to match and walk away. I think all the Bible stands together or falls together and you have to believe that these things are true. Okay. Thank you, Kathy. Hope that helps. Thank you. And you know, you read about it in the New Testament record as well. You have Nick in Tampa, Florida and Nick, welcome to Bibleline your own the air. Hi, Dr. Nick. I have a question about witnessing. I know the Bible says that the beholden now is accepted the time, you know, say the date salvation and I think the Bible also says that not to give it as holy to the dogs nor cast your pearl before swine so my question is I’ll get up here after I ask it when is it appropriate to witness and when is it like not appropriate to witness thank you.

All right well obviously you need to be sensitive but definitely the the Bible says we ought to witness in season out of season and and so on. And that’s a wonderful truth. In 2 Timothy chapter 4, it says, we’re to preach the word in season, out of season, reprove, rebuke, exalt with all-long suffering, and doctrine. So we’re very excited about the fact that God has given the green light to witness so. But I think that obviously you need to use your wisdom about when.

There’s things times when it’s not opportune to witness. Obviously you need to try to find a time when it’s convenient for that person and to share with them but otherwise I would go for it. Well we are we are got a message here from Miami that our radio show The Full Hour does not start until next week not today so I I was mistaken about that, but we’re thankful that we’re going to have that opportunity, and I believe that will be next Monday.

And so pray for that, the full hour down in Miami, Florida. Hope that answered the question on witnessing. Basically, you know, if somebody’s engaged in a meal or a conversation with somebody else or they’re busy at work. Those are not the right times to witness and you need to pick a time when You could actually, the best situation is one-on-one where there’s no distractions. And I know when I witnessed the first person I ever led to Christ, I picked a time when I knew that person would be alone.

There would be no other persons around and that we could be just the two of us. That’s ideal. If you have more than one person in the room or around, sometimes you can’t avoid that. but oftentimes they get in and distract everything and really hinder the whole witnessing situation. Hopefully that helps. We’ve got a lot of offer questions we’ll try to take some more in the second half hour. I’m Dr. Anglister, and this is Bibleline, and apparently Miami will get the full hour program next Monday, I was mistaken, and we’re looking forward to that one hour in Miami next week.

In any case, Bibleline is listeners-supported. If you could help us, we really could use your help. You know, the summer time is vacation time and other things. And we’re in a slow economy and Bible and really could use your help. This is a time when you could really help us by stepping up and giving a gift to Bible. And we’re not trying to get your money. We just want to get the gospel out. And we don’t pay any salaries.

So it’s not a thing about money for us. We want to just pay the stations and be able to stay on the air and to be able to reach out as far as we can before Jesus comes back. Pray with us about that and if you could call and give a gift my credit card today, it would be so appreciated and I want to thank you in advance. We’re going to go to break and come back. We’re going to do a second half hour Bibleline, so stay tuned.

I’ll be right back. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. Anglins from Yale and it’s great to be with you. Thanks for tuning into the broadcast. We appreciate everyone to be that listen and we hope that you’ll take advantage of all that my mind has to offer. We have the internet which has really been a powerful tool. I’ve had some wonderful emails over the weekend. One from Germany, a fellow that found this that would like to to translate our materials into German and distribute them in Germany.

I think that’s wonderful. We had another fellow from Albany, New York saying that he is constantly telling people about the program and bringing more listeners to the Bible and program and how God had led him to the Bible and program and he is so grateful because he was seeking. He felt that God directly led him to find Bibleline which satisfied his questions and they got answered on the program. We hear it all the time and we’re excited about how God is using Bibleline to do exactly that.

Maybe you’ve been blessed through Bibleline, maybe you’ve been saved through Bibleline and obviously we’re excited when we hear those stories. It greatly encourages us. We are listeners supported and the only means of support is our listeners. So we depend totally on you, the ones who are listening. And God has raised up people just like you who enjoy the program who have benefited by it and want to see it continue for the benefit of themselves and others and they give to Bible and to keep it going.

Well God bless all of you that do that because without you we really could not be on the air. We don’t have any other means of support. That’s the truth. We just trust that God will supply every day, every week, every month, through our listeners. If you would pray for us, we can be so grateful. If you would pray and also be able to give a financial gift to Bible. We need people that will give that regularly. If you could give a one-time gift, maybe a larger gift that would really help us out at this time.

We also want you to know that if you take advantage of the internet you can get your worship services, you can catch our TV programs, you can catch our radio programs, and we hope that you will take advantage of all those things. In our online bookstore is there to order resources. I spent a lot of money as a young believer on a lot of books that I found out later were worthless or not worth very much. So I’ll save you a lot of time.

If you go to our Resource Center, you can find books that I recommend that will really help you. We’re going to return to the stations that have been on break and do the second half hour Bibleline. So we hope that you’ll stick right with us here as we do part two right now. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom.

Alright, we’re back from that break and this is Bible and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida. From our studios here at the Calvary Community Church, we’re on the pastor and we’re excited about being with you every day. I look forward to the programs and looking forward always to meeting our listeners. We had a bunch come by yesterday on our third Sunday dinner and it was a pleasure to get to meet the listeners that came by and what a joy to hear their enthusiasm about what we What Bible means to them is just kind of lights a fire under us and keeps us encouraged and going forward.

So pray for us and pray for Bible and we pray that we will get a chance to meet you sometime. If you are a believer we know we will meet you because of the Rapture. That is going to be the greatest meeting in all of time because every believer of the The whole church age from Pentecost to the Rapture is going to meet in one place at one time and that’s going to be the greatest reunion for sure that we’ve ever seen.

I’m looking forward to meeting you there but if not, maybe we’ll get a chance to meet on this earth before that happens. So, you’re always welcome to come by. If you come into Florida from out of town, drop by and see us. We’re right behind the Tampa airport. So close I feel oftentimes I can reach up and slap those airplanes. I mean we’re close. We’re just one block west of the airport. So if you come in and you land at Tampa International, oftentimes when I do that I can look out the plane window and I can actually see the church as we’re landing.

We’re just directly west of the airport one block. Come on by and see us. take that extra minute to drive by and you’re welcome to come by during the week visit our resource center you’re welcome to come by on a Sunday and worship with us on a Wednesday or Sunday and by the way we have a youth teenage camp this coming week the 23rd and we still have a couple openings just a few if you have a teenager or you have several and you’d like them to go they’re going to get a Great Week of Bible and a lot of fun.

The Spring Fed Lake right there in Central Florida is a beautiful setting with the hill side there with the cabins, their condition and the meeting hall and the dining hall overlooking the lake is a beautiful place. And we’re going to give them a week of Bible. And if you want to get a teen saved and they go, I believe they’ll trust the Lord. have a great success rate in that area. And also, if they’re not living for Christ, the good chance that they would dedicate their life to serve the Lord and many do.

These camps are very, very powerful times in a teen’s life when they’re making vital decisions. So call us, we’ll give you the information about it. Maybe you’d like to send a teen or you have a teen that you’d like to have go to camp, we can range that. The Bible and his sisters supported me. Certainly, we could use your help this summer time, and also it’s a slow economy. We could use your help. The Bible and I is only supported through its sisters.

We don’t pay any salary, so you’re going to get the most for the investment. I believe that God wants believers to invest wisely. The Bible talks about that. If you give to a wrong organization, one that doesn’t have the correct gospel or false It will be negative because you will lose out because here you are expending your money or your time to support a ministry. But if the ministry doesn’t have the right message, the Bible says in 2nd John verse 9 that if you bid them God’s speed, you will be partaker of their evil deeds.

So you really come out minus and in 2nd John verse 8 it says, look to yourselves that we lose not those things which we have worked for, but that we receive a full reward. So some people are working for a bad organization or giving to a wrong organization and they’re going to come out negative because they’re not going to get the reward they expected because they’re going to be a partaker of the evil deeds in the message that’s incorrect by that organization.

I believe you’re going to find the Bibleline. He is true to the Bible and we are actually being very effective in winning people to Christ and challenging believers. Your investment I think will bring you the greatest return in heaven for your giving. We would trust that you will pray about it and if you will pray for Bible scrapped, if you could help us in this month it would greatly be appreciated. If you can call in today and you can give a gift by credit card over the phone and or you can call an S for an envelope to be sent and mail a gift in that would really help us here during this time when we’re experiencing a shortage.

We have Mark in Jackson, ville, Florida and Mark, welcome to Bibleline Year on the Air. Hey, good morning, Patrick. Thank you. I’m glad you’re there. I just need a little clarification. I’ll just read Duke of Washington. It’s pretty clear in the verses above. But I’m just curious about verse 23 of Colossians chapter 1, if you continue in the faith grounded. It’s very clear that he’s reconciled us and that we were sometimes alienated and by the blood of the cross and all that stuff, the benefits, except verse 23.

I’m just wondering how that working in context with this. If you could just clarify that, that’d be fun. I’ll just go off there. All right. Thank you, Mark. It’s not about the Christian life. It is talking about the day when we stand before the Lord that we would be found blameless and harmless and all those kind of things that we might have a full reward. We were just talking about rewards a moment ago and in order to Have your life really count for rewards you need to continue So we are saved by trusting Christ, but by continuing in the word we become His disciples and we will be earning rewards and is talking about the conditional part.

And that is our Christian life is conditioned upon our works. But our salvation is dependent upon the work that Christ did. So when you trust Christ, you become saved and saved eternally and it keeps you saved. saved, but if you’re saved then you’ll want to invest your time and your talents and your treasures so that God might reward you richly in heaven one day. We now have Adam. Adam is in Denver, Colorado and Adam welcome to the Bible and you’re on the air.

Hey, Pastor, thanks for taking my call. My question is in in Genesis 27 verse 20, and I’m having a little trouble with the end of that verse on there where it says, the verse reads, and I’ve said on his son, how is it thou hast found it so quickly, my son? And he said, because the Lord thy God brought it to me, what is he implying there? Basically he’s saying the Lord your God, right? Well, obviously it’s also his God, but he’s talking about the God of his father.

And he obviously embraced the same God, so he’s, I think, trying to make that happy there too by telling him that. So there’s no reason to read into that verse anymore, then? No. No, not that he believed in a different God, but it was the same God that he believed in. But obviously, especially in those days, the Father would pass the gospel down to his son and his daughters, and they believed in the God of their fathers. and you see those expressions in the Bible, the God of our fathers, and of course we sing to Him, you know, God of our fathers.

Thank you, Adam, and it was great. We’d like to now talk to Dave in St. Petersburg, and Dave, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Good morning, Pastor. Just a thing for the people that are out there witnessing, just another path to see Matthew, chapter 10. He’s been 12 through 15 and basically 14. If they won’t hear your words, just kick those off your feet and move on. And maybe you can kind of explain that and I’m going to hang up a little.

Okay Dave that’s for sure. In other words, the Bible doesn’t tell us that we should get hung up with somebody who doesn’t want to hear it and just stay on their case forever. I think you can pray for lost people, but sometimes you have to move on to some of it. There’s a lot of people that are seeking. And I think if you’re witnessing, you might want to pray, Lord, let me bump into somebody who’s seeking and hungry to hear the gospel.

And there are those like that. But I have found Some people somehow get a burden for the cults and they spend all their time on the cults which are very difficult to lead to Christ and And these people don’t want to hear what you have to say. It’s so it could be very discouraging So I believe that give them the gospel and tell them your praying for them, but then move on Thank you Dave, that’s a great word. If they don’t want to hear it, then kick the dust off your feet and move forward.

We now have Lionel and he is in Valarico, Florida. Lionel, welcome to Bibleline your own ear. Bible and you’re on the air. Yep. I’m just wondering about Luke whether he was a Jew or a Gentile, and if there’s anything in the Bible that tells us for sure, or is it just… find a deduction that we can find out? I think it’s kind of a deduction and there’s people that argue both ways. But the early Christians that initial group were pretty much all Jewish and they of course were given the Great Commission which was to take the gospel into all the world and to every creature and so it went out to the Gentiles and its time went along.

They found that the gentles came and took over because they embraced the message of Christ, which is exciting. But I don’t know that there’s a conclusive answer about Luke. We do know that he wrote two books of the Bible, the Gospel of Luke and the book of Acts and we really don’t know for sure whether he was Jewish or Gentile. But I, most, most all of the writers of the New Testament were definitely Jewish. So we’ll just have to wait and see.

And I think when you get there, just say, Hey, look, are you Jewish in background or Gentile. All right. We’re now going to go to Lionel in the Valrico, Florida and Let’s see here. I think I’ve got Gino in Tampa and Gino. Let’s go to Gino Okay, I just want to ask a question if If the devil was supposed to be a a terrible one of the two he is also described as an angel i’m kind of confused about that chairs and angels are different because i have a way to supply and that’s the case that we need that angels file if not to explain to me i’m sure the uh…

the word angel simply means messenger and that’s a broad term and it’s even used of men If you read in Revelation 2 and 3, it addresses the elder pastor teacher of each of the seven churches there in chapters 2 and 3 of the book of Revelation. It says to the angel of the church at Ephesus and Smyrna and the different churches. They’re talking about a human. Sometimes the word angels apply to a human that we are messengers. Although Satan was a cherub, not an angel, he’s called an angel in the broader sense that he is a messenger.

The Bible says he’s a messenger or an angel of light in 2 Corinthians chapter 11 verses 13 through 15. Satan is described as a messenger, but he’s a messenger of false information. You certainly don’t want to listen to what he has to say, but you need to be alert from the Bible to what the Bible says so you’ll know when you’re hearing Satan’s message. But no doubt about it. The word angel is a broad term and the typical angels that we think about as angels that large body that is considered or the Bible describes as a new verbal and of course a third of them are fallen and two thirds are the just angels or God’s angels.

That group doesn’t have wings and they are all male and they don’t get married and they don’t have kids. And so a lot of things about angels that we oftentimes are told are not really correct. So if you see a replica of an angel and if it’s feminine, it’s not an angel. I don’t know what you would call it, but there are only male angels. I remember, I think it was last year or year before, there was a gentleman in our church and he was at the mall with his wife shopping with Christmas.

He was bored, women like to shop and the men don’t generally. And so he went on a mission. He said, I’m going to find in the mall if they have a male angel. I don’t know how many stores he went into and asked the clerks and the manager and so on. He could find no male angels. They were all female. But of course that means that they’re not angels because there are no female angels and there are no baby angels.

They’re always in the Bible a pure masculine and they always peer as men and are mistaken for men. So they They don’t have wings and they don’t have halos and a lot of other things we’re typically told are not true. But I hope that answers the question. Satan was a chair but also called an angel because he’s a messier but he’s a false mess ier. Okay, now we have I think Geno in Tampa, Florida. Geno? I don’t know if I have Geno or not.

Well, apparently I don’t have anybody on that line. Let me go back to a couple of offer questions. Phil in Largo, Florida says, what is the meaning of abomination of desolation? He’s talking about the image of the Antichrist that will be placed into the rebuilt temple. When the rapture happens, a third temple will be built in Israel. And the sacrifices will be resumed. And the preparations for all of that have really been done. It’s all been pretty much completed.

I was in Israel just a couple of months ago. We saw the implements for sacrifice. We saw the menorah that will go in the rebuilt temple. The stones have been cut. We saw garments for the priesthood and so on. Everything is pretty much in place. So once the rapture happens it will be 1, 2, 3. But halfway through the seven year tribulation period before Christ comes back at the end of that seven years the Antichrist will actually desecrate the third temple and proclaim from that temple that he is God and will set up his image in the temple for men to worship.

It says it in 2 Thessalonians pretty clearly about the Antichrist. It says in chapter 2 in verse 4 of 2 Thessalonians, the son of tradition, the man of sin, the the Antichrist, who opposes and exalted himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped, so that he as God, saideth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. Well, that couldn’t happen today if you wanted it to happen, because the temple isn’t around. But the temple will be rebuilt right after the Rapture, and this man, the Antichrist, will actually enter into that temple and he’ll sit in that temple showing himself that he’s God so he’ll demand worship from the temple.

So his image is called this abomination as obviously it is not to the true and loving God and it’s going to be placed in the temple. Hopefully that helps. We have Helen in Dunneen, Florida. Helen, welcome to Bibleline. Could you tell me which are the doctrinal books and I’ll hang up and listen? Okay, most of the epistles are really the doctrinal books of the New Testament. And to get grounded, you need to read the books like Romans and Corinthians, Ephesians and Galatians and Philippians, Colossians and so on.

Those are the great doctrinal books, but any of the New Testament epistles are really going to give you good solid doctrine. The four gospels are pretty much a history of the life of Christ and the book of Acts is a history of the early church, but it’s not until you get into the epistles of the apostles that you get good solid doctrine. And so that’s where I would recommend you go. Hopefully that helps and thank you so much your question.

We’re now going to go to Mary in Bartow, Florida. Mary, welcome to my one. You’re on there. Okay, I have a question. The book of Job, chapter 2, verse 1, it talks about the sons of God coming before him and Satan with them. Now, I know you said that they never got never called an angel his son, but I can you explain that and I’ll hang up and listen? Sure, Mary. Thank you. It’s talking about believers and… On the first day of the week, you would go meet with other Christians to worship the Lord.

So that’s not unusual. So it was really like a church meeting. Here’s believers coming together, and Satan came along too. And by the way, I think if we could have the spiritual blinders pulled off our eyes, we might see. If we could have the spiritual blinders pulled off our eyes, we might see a host of Satan’s Angels also Posted there in our worship service Because Satan doesn’t like what we do and he obviously is watching and And looking for advantage with believer, so he’s he’s always around or his his demons are.

So that’s what it’s talking about. An angel is not ever called in the Bible a son of God. And Hebrews 1, 5 answers that once and for all. It says to which of the angels did God at any time say, Thou art my son. It’s very powerfully implied there. God never called an angel his son. So Mary, I hope that helps a little bit with that. Ed, in Tampa, Florida calls in, what kind of works will be burned up as wood hay stubble at the Judge of the City of Christ.

I believe almost anything done for self, things that are not going to count for eternity. But things that are done for the Lord, I think any spiritual type of activity will be bringing about rewards in heaven. Bible talks about giving a glass of cold water in the name of Jesus and that’s going to be rewarded. So there are lots of righteous acts and things that we can do, but there are five crowns that will definitely be rewarded, teaching the Word of God, leading souls to Christ, being a Christian who has endurance or patience through trials and so on and so on.

These are all going to be rewarded. So Ed, you can start earning rewards, but if you have just built your life around yourself and about earthly treasures, they’ll probably be burned up and you’ll have no rewards in heaven. Myra in Sarasota calls in, she says, did God create evil according to Isaiah 45-7? That’s an interesting verse. It’s a bad translation. The word evil there really means the consequences for sin. In other words, it really is translated into other places, adversity, suffering and so on and so on.

Things that would be accompanying evil. So God created consequences for sin is what it’s saying. He didn’t create evil, but he created the consequences for evil. So if you sin, there’s a consequence for that. Dr. Schofield in the Schofield Bible has an excellent note that points that out. He points out that the Hebrew word is translated sorrow, wretchedness, adversary, afflictions, calamities, but never translated sin. So God created evil only in the sense that he made wretchedness and sorrow, etc.

to be the sure fruits of sin. Good answer. God did not create evil, but he did create the consequences for evil. So hopefully that helped you out to me. Rod in Charles City, Virginia, calls in and he says, what is a prophetess? Are there any today? a lot of them claim to be. No, there aren’t any today. The gift of prophecy ceased according to 1 Corinthians chapter 13 verses 8 through 10. So the gift of a prophet is gone, male or female.

So there are no prophecies today, but there were in the Old Testament times, And there will be again in the Millennium, but right now there are zero, none at all. We have, I think, come to the end of the program and we’re about out of time. I hope everybody listening is trusted Jesus as Savior. If you haven’t, just say Lord I’m a sinner. I don’t understand much about the Bible, but I trust that Jesus is God who came to the earth and gave us the word of Calvary and shed his blood to pay for my sins was buried and rose again from the dead.

I trust him right now as my only hope of heaven and the moment you do, God of anemone knows that he saves you. Salvation is a gift. It’s received by simply trusting in the name of Jesus. in the finished work that Christ did for you at the cross. Bibleline is a list that’s supported. We are in the summer. It’s also a slow economy and Bibleline needs your help. If you could help us out, we could really use your help.

Would you pray about that? If you’ll pray for Bibleline, we would really be appreciative. But if you could call and maybe give a gift today, that would be also really appreciated. Or you can mail it, call and get the address or call an S for an omelet to be sent with our address on it. And that would be wonderful. We could use your help to stay on the air. We don’t pay any salaries. Our money’s when they come in, they go right back out to pay the bills for the stations that were on.

And some people say, well, how much do you get paid? I don’t get paid anything. We do this as a service to get the gospel out. I’m going to have to run, but we’ll be back again tomorrow. And I hope you’ll join me on Bible and tomorrow. I’m Dr. Englund Stirmen. We have to run to keep looking up. Jesus is coming and we believe very soon. God bless. I’ll see you tomorrow.
