We have that Scofield Bible which I think you’re gonna find so helpful and that’s the one I use and it is the 1909 or 1917 edition. Those since then, of course, have been, I think, corrupted because they’ve added notes that are not by Dr. Schofield and they’ve changed actually the text of the scripture and did a lot of things that I think have made it very inferior.

But if you’d like to get one, you’re welcome to order off of the internet as well. We have it on our resource center on the internet. Just go to BibleLineMinistries.org. Click on the online bookstore. You’ll be able to get our resource center. You’ll be able to get our radio programs, our worship services, and so much more. So take a look at that. We’re going to get into the Bible and we’ll be taking our callers today. If you’d like to call in, that number is 1-800-576-3771.

That’s 1-800-576-3771. So we’d love to have you call. If you have a question, we’ll try to answer it. And if you would like to be up on the air with us, you can ask your question live on the air. Do you have your Bible there? If you do, open it up and we’ll take a look at scriptures today, and we’re going to turn to the Gospel of Mark. And here in Mark’s Gospel, chapter 4, we find a very interesting passage.

Mark’s Gospel, chapter 4, and turn there in your Bible with me and take a look for yourself. Mark 4, and we’re going to be He was going to be here on verse 9. Jesus here had just spoken to parable of the sower and He said to them, He said, Here’s to hear, let Him hear. And when He was alone, verse 10, they were with Him with the 12, asked Him of the parable. He said unto them unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God.

of them that are without, that is the unsaved, all these things are done in parables that seeing they may see and not perceive and hearing they may hear. And not understand less that any time they should be converted and their sins should be forgiven them. Isn’t that an interesting answer? You know, parables were not stories given to make something clear. But parables were meant to conceal truth rather than reveal truth. Most people get that wrong. You know, when you ask a person why do you try speaking parables, they usually will tell you.

without even blinking their eye that Christ told a story to try to get a point across very, very clear to the hearer. But that’s not what the Bible says. The Bible says Christ’s spoken parables that seeing they may see and not perceive and hearing they may hear and not understand less than any time they should be converted and their sins should be forgiven them. Isn’t that amazing? That’s why when you approach a parable you have to be very careful because parables can be made to say just about anything you want them to say.

And if you probably got five or six different commentaries and looked up a particular parable of, you’d probably get five or six different answers as to what the parables are about. And that’s why the parables can be confusing and also the parables can be misleading and you have to be very careful to interpret them. The key to interpreting the Bible is always interpreting a difficult passage in the light of a clear passage. When you have a clear statement in Scripture like at John 3 16, you never want to take a passage that is more difficult and interpreted and contradict a John 3 16 or a simple verse.

You always interpret them in the light of clear scripture and you’re going to come out right. Well obviously Jesus here is warning his disciples that under you it is given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of God. But unto them that are without, that is the unsaved. All these things are done in parables that seeing they may see and not perceive and hearing they may hear and not understand, thus that any time they should be converted and their sins should be forgiven them.

So parables you need to be careful with. And I did a 10-hour teaching on parables where we taught how to interpret a parable and how you have to make sure that your interpretation is in line with clear scriptures, clear doctrinal passages and then you’re going to come out right. But you say, well why in the world would Christ want to conceal truth? Well, let’s go over to Matthew 11. And here Jesus says something very interesting. He prays to the Father in Matthew chapter 11, and he says in verse 25, at that time Jesus answered and said, I thank the O Father, Lord of Heaven and Earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and has revealed them unto babies.

It’s interesting here that a child, a baby, a young person can understand Scripture and yet those that are wise in their own eyes and prudent that these things would be hidden from them. So basically the key is you need to seek the truth. If you really want to know truth, God will make the truth available to you and you’ll be able to understand it. A child can come to the scripture and understand the love of God and the fact that God sent Jesus to die to pay for their sins and trust Jesus as their Savior.

But there are others who think they are smart and in their own wisdom actually wind up being blinded and they don’t trust the Lord. Let me go with you to 1 Corinthians chapter 1. you see this principle throughout the Bible where it seems that those who are wise in their own sight seem to miss the truths of Scripture. In 1 Corinthians chapter 1 it says here about the Gospel message. It says for the preaching of the gospel, The first thing that is the power of God is the power of God.

Isn’t that interesting? They would say that the gospel is foolishness. It doesn’t make any sense to them. And yet the person who is seeking the truth and wanting the truth recognizes that the preaching of the cross is the power of God unto salvation. In fact, it says here in verse 21, in 1st Corinthians chapter 1, it says, for after that in the wisdom of God, the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

So what is considered foolish by the world? The Bible says in God that God and his wisdom shows that by the foolishness of what man would think is foolishness of preaching the gospel of Christ, it’s the power of God, it’s the means by which a person is saved. So the Bible tells us that the Bible is like a filter. For those who are seeking truth, God opens the truth of God’s word to them. In 1 Corinthians 2, 14 it says, The natural man, the unsaved man, the person who is not born again, does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness of them, neither can he know them because they are spiritually discerned.

In other words, the person who is unsaved really can’t understand the Bible. And if you ever hear somebody say, well, the Bible doesn’t make any sense. It’s a lot of foolishness. You can tell they’re probably not saved because it says in that verse 1 Corinthians 2, 14, the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God. They are foolishness unto him, neither can he know them because they are spiritually discerned. So if you’re unsaved, you can read the Bible and read the Bible and read the Bible and read the Bible and it doesn’t make a lot of sense.

Nothing seems to make sense to you and it might seem to be foolish and you might just reject it. But to the person who is seeking the truth, God opens up the understanding so you can understand the scriptures. And once you become saved, it’s like the light turns on, and all of a sudden the Bible becomes clearer. And as you study the Bible as a believer, and ask the Lord’s help to illuminate your understanding, the Bible becomes very understandable to the believer.

But many times, unsaved people are approaching the Bible and it doesn’t make any sense to them at all. But the wonderful message is so simple that even a child can understand it and receive that God so loved the world, that is, he gave his only begotten son, that’s the Lord Jesus Christ, that whosoever anyone that would believe or trust in Christ’s Savior would receive the wonderful gift of everlasting life. And that’s the best news you’re ever going to hear.

If you haven’t trusted Christ, my friend, you cannot go to heaven. The Bible says, Acts 4, 12, neither is there salvation in any other, for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. There is only one Savior, only one way to be saved, and that is to place your trust that Jesus died and shed his blood and paid your sin dead and full at the cross was buried and rose again from the dead.

I hope you have done that, and I pray that every listener today would trust the Lord as or Savior if they haven’t. And if you have, then you ought to be learning your Bible and sharing this good news with your family, your friends, your loved ones. Certainly you don’t want anyone to be lost and not make heaven because obviously the alternative is not a tricative alternative. That is to go to hell and be separated from God forever and ever and ever in the eternal lake of fire.

I’m Dr. Englunds from we’re going to go to Bill Gates Florida and we’re going to talk to Scott and Scott welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yes, how you doing this morning about an effort? Good. I called in about two weeks ago and I asked you a question about if a pastor or a deacon was a fall into a temptation or a fall into sin. Not actually how do the church deal with that? And you say that there is going to be the leaders of the church, I guess, the elders of the church.

I, last week I heard a young man called in and asked you a question about, he said he was married and he had got a divorce. And he, he said he had got saved and he had married. He wanted to be a victim. He asked you, would that be okay? And you told him no. And I wanted to know what would be the difference between the victim and the pastor when both of them had the same qualification with one wife.

one wife. You say that it means that when the virus speak on one wife, they’re forever. So if he cannot be a deacon because he has a divorce, what about the process that have been married two or three times? What about the process that have been married and shouldn’t be ordained? So how do you go about that? So I don’t think they should be the pastor. And some churches obviously are not following the rules of the Bible, but the Bible says in 1 Timothy 3 and in Titus chapter 1, where the rear.

he gives the rules for a pastor at Elder Deacon, is that they are to be the husband of one wife. And so obviously they’re not following the Bible. And if you have the choice as a member of that church to find another church, or obviously if a pastor while he’s pastoring divorces and remarries, then obviously he is violating the scriptures and the church leadership should deal with that. But today, as I said last week, there are so many divorces that people are bending the rules because it’s hard to find somebody nowadays that has not been divorced to be an elder or deacon.

That is a mean person that’s been divorced and remarried can’t serve. can serve in wonderful ways and be very effective and lead lots of people to Christ and be a very powerful addition to the Church. But those particular positions according to the Scripture are not to be held by somebody who has been divorced. So that’s the beacon and the path that should date those two positions should not be held by someone that have been divorced, right? That’s right. Okay.

All right, thanks for that. You’re sure welcome. Thank you Scott for calling in today from Bill Glades, Florida. We have Brother Atwell and Sonoma, Fassa, Florida and Brother Atwell. Welcome to Iowa and you’re on the air. Yes sir. Good morning. The man who was on the screen there, there was a scripture there. The other night I went over there to see that message going on over there, that so-called revival. The revival of devils. And I went over there and the man claimed they were going to raise their dead.

They had a man in a casket supposedly on the lawn somewhere. And they used the scripture only, only used what scripture all night. on a great one scripture one in person and i wanted you to uh… tell us that people People know. How he read your scripture, sir. But if the spirit of him raises up Jesus from the dead, dwelling you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his spirit that dwelleth in you.

Now, for the people that we got the same Same prize, God! Well, that’s an issue in the scripture. I was talking obviously at the time of the resurrection. If you are saved and if you’re saved God the Holy Spirit dwells in you, then at the time of the resurrection, you’re going to be raised from the dead and that’s about your new body. But as far as raising anybody from the dead right now, that’s not happening and obviously they can’t do that.

I remember myself chasing some of these meetings down as a young believer many years ago and I went to a meeting in Miami where they were going to raise the dead and obviously they never did. And they can’t. They can’t raise the dead. And that’s amazingly a part of the so-called gift of healing when in Matthew 10 when Christ sent up the disciples they were to be able to raise the den, they were over the cleansed lepers. And by the way leprosy is a disease where your parts of your body actually die and are rotting and there’s an awful stench associated with that rotting flesh that occurs with somebody that has leprosy.

So to heal a leper, you have to replace this in flesh. That’s just not happening today. And I never see anybody go on stage with one arm and come off a two, or go on stage with one leg and come off a two. It doesn’t happen. So this is all a forest today. It’s not the biblical gift at all. If we really had the gift of healing happening today, and I’m not saying that God can’t heal, I believe in divine healing, but I don’t believe in divine healers.

And if the gift were still operative today, you ought to be able to come into town and go to the hospital. That’s where you have sick people and raise them all up, room by room, floor by floor. Would that be something to empty an entire hospital out? Dear, this is the truth of people that are definitely in need of healing. It just doesn’t happen. They don’t even go near the hospital. And this whole thing is simply a counterfeit of the truth and it’s a lot of people are being deceived big time.

I went over there to see for myself and I’m going to carry it with the Bible being fulfilled. You know, if these people are being fooled now, wait until they show reels. You know, the Bible says that there will be signs and wonders and that if it were possible, the very elect would be fooled. Well, you’re absolutely right. It’s in Matthew 24 that…

He would deceive even some of the very elective those that are genuinely saved. And Christ gave us warning that in the last days there would be this kind of deception. Thank you so much, Brother Atwell. And I don’t recommend people go to visit those kinds of meetings because I think that you can become confused and it can be a harm to you. We’re now going to go to Martin in Malta, New York, and Martin, welcome to Bible In. Good morning, Pastor Hank, thank you for having me.

I get a question, I hear a long time listener, and I get a question about loss of rewards. What if I lose my rewards throughout life yet I’m still saved and I go to heaven? And what if I have the lowest place in heaven? I mean will I be a disappointment to God or you know I don’t want to open up a can of worms on on rewards But I’ll hang up and listen for the answer and God bless you and your ministry.

Thank you so much Apparently there will be sorrow. There will be regret. There will be tears But apparently that will come to a conclusion It’s not until after the thousand-year reign of Christ we become judged as believers at the Rapture and that is seven years before the Second Coming and it’s a thousand and seven years before God creates the New Heavens and New Earth But if you read Revelation chapter 21, it says then that this former Earth has passed away and there’s a new heavens and New Earth and that God will come over and actually personally wipe away all the tears from our eyes and Then it says the former things will not be remembered.

That is, I think the things that would bring sorrow to us in eternity. So there’s a period of time during which there will be sorrow in heaven for the believers. But after the thousand year reign of Christ and when the new heavens and new earth have been created and we’re now living in the New Jerusalem, God will wife away those tears and there will be no more sorrow and there will be no more death. All those things will be passed away, and I believe parts of our memory which would bring sorrow will also be erased at that time.

So there will be regret. Obviously, as a believer, we ought to recognize how serious it is to live for Christ, and then we’re going to give an account someday. And if we were to die as a Christian, we will be standing before the Joseph’s of Christ. In 2 Corinthians 5 and verse 10 it says we must all appear before the Judgement of Christ that we may receive the things done in our body whether they be good or bad and that is when there will be some embarrassment, there will be a shameless, there will be regret, there will be sorrow, there will be tears, but at the end of the thousand years, so maybe for a thousand and seven years Christians will have tears and regret and then he will wife away our tears.

Hopefully that answers the question for you. We now have Annette and she is in Sefter, Florida and Annette, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hello? Hi Annette. Hi. You’re on the air. Thank you. Okay, go ahead and ask your question. You’re on the air. Oh, yes sir. What I wanted to know is when people pass away, they’re supposed to be dead and they don’t see them till judgment day, right? No, it’s not. I was near a grave, you don’t, they’re not supposed to be, they’re dead.

Well, you don’t see them. They’re not walking around on the earth as a shadow or once they’re dead they don’t come and talk to you. No they don’t. Right. Okay. So I live near a graveyard and a friend of mine says, you see the spirits. And it scares me. I don’t see them. So what I want to know is people that think they see these spirits is that they have satan or… Well, they’re probably unsaved and obviously Satan would love to carry out the deception that there are ghosts or spirits or demons and he impersonates it.

So obviously that’s what’s going on there. Once the person dies, they’re no longer in that body and no longer in the graveyard. If they’re a believer, they’re absent from the body, they’re present with the Lord. If they’re an unbeliever, they’re absent from the body and present in Hades and eventually will be cast into hell. But they’re not in the graveyard anymore. So whatever he might be seeing would have to be one of Satan’s angels impersonating the dead and obviously for doing a deception on that particular person.

But there is no humans around that have died. They’re all either in heaven or in Hades. Well, how come some people can see them and don’t care? I think theAlabama’s can’t see them because we’re born again. The unsaved have a real good connection to the spirit world and the devil would love to deceive them. I believe that’s the answer. We’re going to have to come up on our break here and we’re about out of time. So we’ll try to take your call if you want to call in right after the break.

The number is 1-800-576-3771. Again Bibleline is coming to you every day and again we are listeners support. If you would like to help us, it would be greatly appreciated. free for us and also you could give a gift. You could do that right now by telephone by calling in and saying like to give a gift to Bible and by credit card and we can do that right now or you can ask for an envelope to be sent with our dress on mail that in.

But we really could not be on the air without your help. So do pray for us and we’re going to take a short break. We’ll come right back and we’re going to do a second half hour by the line and we hope that you’ll stay with your radio tune right where it is. I’ll be right back after this short break. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. 771. Alright, I’m not going to cleanse the room, it has been great to be with…

Alright, I’m Dr. Englundszstrum. It’s been great to be with you on this Monday as we come off the weekend and we have a whole week ahead of us. Thank you for tuning in. I hope you’re enjoying the program wherever you are. a question and you’d like to get an answer you can call and get up on the air with us and I’ll try to answer it or you can leave that question off here. We’ve got a lot of those and we’ll try to catch up with some of the all-fair questions and we will try to answer your questions.

So give us a call and we’ll try to do that. By the way again Bibleline has a resource center where we have books that I personally approve of that would save you a lot When you go out to your Christian bookstore, they have tons of books. Many of them might be dangerous to your spiritual health. You’ve got to be careful what you read. Many of them have bad doctrine. You don’t want to just buy anything that’s on the shelf.

You want to have books that you can trust. Of course, the book is the Bible which you can trust from and we hope that you’ll take advantage of our resource center. You can do that online or you can come by in person and we hope that you’ll take a look at those books that we do have and you can by the way call and ask for a resource sheet to be sent to you. We’ll mail that out and has a list of all the books and you can order using that resource sheet over the phone or even do that by mail.

We’re so glad to be able to be with you. Again, we are listed and supported. If you could help Bible on that would be greatly appreciated. We need your prayers for sure. And if you could financially help Bible on you could give a gift by credit card over the phone or you could also give it by mail. If you want to call and ask for an envelope to be sent we’ll be happy to mail you an envelope with our address on it.

You can send your gift back back in, in that way. We have my sermons that I give every Sunday available on CD and DVD. You might want to get some of those. Those are great teaching tools and a lot of people tell me that they listen to them several times and the second time, the third time, they get a great deal more than they did the first time through. So you might want to take advantage. A gift of $30 a month, you can get it set up so it all happens automatically.

And every month at the end of the month, all the sermons for that month will be sent on CD right to your home. Why not try that? I think you’ll find that a real blessing. Plus, I’ve got about 40 different teachings of 10 or 12 hours that would really help you on a particular subject or book of the Bible and you might try that. We’re going to go back and rejoin the stations has there been a break into the second half hour of Bible and right now.

Would you like to call Bible and ask Dr. Lynch from a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lynch from… Alright we’re back from that break and this is Bible and it’s great to be with you. It’s Monday and we have the whole week to go and we have a lot of offer questions. We’ll try to get to those as soon as we can. We’re coming to you live from our studios right here in Tampa, the Calvary Community Church.

We invite you to come by and visit us if you ever come to Florida. And we have people that come and visit us from all over, really, that are hearing the program or hearing about the program. And we certainly want to welcome those that are listening now in Evansville, Indiana, and those that are listening out of Salem, Indiana. Those that are listening in West Virginia, in Huntington, and Charlotte West Virginia, we welcome you to the program. And I hope we get to hear from you today.

Give us a call. We’d love to hear from you and from all the other areas where people are hearing the Bible and program. We’re going to go right now to Albert in Richmond, Virginia, and Albert, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. I need to check out something that was brought up in our Sunday school class yesterday. This guy was talking about Paul’s thorn in the flesh. And he said that his thorn in the flesh, according, was the Pharisees because he said he went back to what they called the law of first usage.

So anyway, I questioned that. And so did a friend of mine. So then after the Sunday school class, I asked him where was that in the Bible. and he said it was somewhere in Genesis, but we never could find it. And so I said, well, I’ll call you Monday and find out what the deal is. All right. Well, I think he’s way off base. Paul had a real infirmity to his flesh, and apparently it was a problem with his eyes, maybe an eye disease.

If you read the book, The Galatians, it tells us a couple of hints there. It tells us that the people in Galatia loved him so much that they were willing to pluck out their own eyes and give them to him. Obviously that indicates that he needed some eyes and if it were possible to do a eye transplant they would have actually been willing to donate to rise to Paul. Then when you read the sixth chapter of Galatians you find that it tells us there that Paul, who was very passionate about the message that he wrote in Galatians, personally wrote that letter, although it was with great difficulty because of his eye problems.

Most of the time he dictated his letters and he says that when he wrote it, it was very large and he didn’t mean the length because it was only six chapters, but he meant the letters themselves were very large. So he wrote this one and apparently he had the right big letters in order to accommodate his vision problem so i think it was uh… he had an eye problem i think he had vision problem remember he was blinded on road to Damascus maybe right right not down yeah so uh…

that would suggest we don’t really know it doesn’t identify what the thorn is in second cringley’s fall when it discusses that but i think in glacial we got a good hint there that it was probably he had an eye problem thank you sir all right you sure what am albert in richmond virginia we’re not going to go to Gregory, he’s in Miami, Florida, and Gregory, welcome to Bible and you’re on the air. Yes, good morning, how are you, Dr.?

Good. Good, I have a question. All right, go. Okay, the first one is in reference to, well, we know that the church began to officially own on tentacles, right? And that’s when the local body was was established. That’s correct. My question to you is when did the Catholic Church, when was it established as we know it today? What epoch of time exactly when? Probably not until the sixth century. The end of the 500s. The first actual pope that they can point to was about 585 AD Pope Gregory.

degree. And before that, the church really was one and it was headed up in the 4th century in Istanbul, what is called Constantinople, as Constantine declared the whole world to be Christian and that was where the church was headed. It then split into two branches, the Western branch, which is the Roman Catholic Church in the Eastern branch, which is the Greek Catholic Church and those two branches still exist today. And of course Rome claims that they are the one universal church toward Catholic, but the Greek church also claims to be the one universal church and they’re the Eastern Catholic Church, but The Roman Catholic Church as we know it today didn’t really exist till around the sixth century We get on reference to John 1515 When he is the henceforth I call you not servants, for the servant knows not what his Lord do it.

Does that mean that we’re not going to serve or slave to Christ but just sons? In other words, are we still, you know, servants? Does that mean that we’re not going to serve and just sons? It doesn’t mean neither, but it does think about we have an intimate relationship with Christ where we are let in on things that otherwise nobody could ever know. He’s given us his word, the word of God. And as we read the word of God, God illuminates our understanding.

we really can understand what God had in mind for us to do and what his plans are for the future and we’re led in on all those things and the reasons why he wants us to do things in a certain way are all spelled out of his scriptures. So we’re not just told do this, don’t do that, but he explains everything in the New Testament to us and so there’s an intimacy that is talking about. But it doesn’t include that we were none of the certain people that are the six who that we are brought with the price.

That’s right. Right? And we are to serve you. Absolutely. Exactly. Thank you, Dr. Have a great day. Okay, Gregory in Miami, Florida. And we’re coming to the people down in South Florida on WMCU 1080 on the dial. We now have Don in Orange City, Florida. And Don, welcome to Bibleline. Hey, thanks a lot for having me. Say I just want to refer to a question that was asked, you know, a while back concerning a while back concerned marriage yes and you know the bible says that way back there in the beginning like you know whom god has joined together let not man put a son or and you and i know and i think everybody knows that god doesn’t join all these marriages together it’s just flash attracting flash and then we flash quit attracting the other flash and so on and they go ahead and get a

divorce but uh… what i was getting at what at the point i wanted to really get at was that before a person gets saved, now, before a person ever gets saved, they can do anything they want to, and they’re going to be going to hell according to the Bible because they’re not saved. But once they get saved, then, then, and become a Christian, then they follow the rules that God has set up. And of course I know that there’s different denominations that have a rule saying listen if you’ve ever been married then you can’t be a pastor or a deacon or whatever.

And that’s all right. But as far as God is concerned, according to what the Bible says, He absolutely forgets everything that you’ve ever done, whether you’ve been married once, twice, three times, four times, whatever. But once you get saved, then no more marriage and divorce and marriage and divorce. That’s the way that I see it, according to what the Bible says. Well, I agree with you as far as the Christian life. You’re absolutely right on. But I think that that doesn’t negate what the Bible says about certain positions of leadership.

And I think that God had set it down that way because he was setting an example. an example. You know in the Old Testament the priest had more responsibility than the average person and he was not allowed to marry somebody who had been divorced. He was to marry a virgin. So you could not serve as a priest in the Old Testament unless you were We’re both pure. And you married a virgin in the Old Testament. And the same thing is true where the, maybe the equivalent of the priest in a sense would be the pastor of the church leader.

And you’re the example to the congregation. And I believe if the people in the church say, well, more than that deacon has been married two, three times and the pastor has been married a couple of times and I guess it’s alright to get divorced because they have. I think the picture that God wants for the children and the congregation is that these men are held to that standard, which is above what everybody else is held to so that they are the examples for the rest of the congregation.

Yes, well that’s very, very well-crystly. But as far as salvation, and obviously God will not hold that against you. You’re saved by grace through faith and it has nothing to do with what you’ve been married or not married or what kind of things you’ve done in your past or even what you’re doing now. I mean, once you’re saved, you’re saved. But there are consequences for living in sin after you become saved as God will discipline those that become His children.

Yep. He sure will and he has a right to do it. Yeah. Because then we fall under the leadership of what God wants. Exactly. for marriage can be forced to marriage in divorce i’m not for it at all but i do know people may people who feel that they’re just not worth anything at the even get safe because well i’ve been married and i’m divorced and i were married and were definitely going on good now but you know i’ve just been married divorce and i just don’t feel like that god he don’t want me to do anything you know that that’s not going to put many leadership and i tell him no i said that’s not so according to bob will god don’t even know you’ve been married two or three times Well he knows but he’s not going to hold that against you as far as service.

But there are so many areas where a person can serve and they can serve without being a deacon or elder or pastor and sometimes much more effective in fact in reaching people and in ministry than the pastor himself. So God can use them in a great way but I think that those particular positions are restricted to those who have only been married to one wife. Thank you. Well, thanks a lot for listening to me. You’re welcome. That was a good point.

We now have Jose in Miami, Florida, and Jose, welcome to Bibleline you are on the year and welcome to the Bible and program. Hey, I got a big shout-out to you, Dr. I got a quick question for you. Are you aware of the G-Pole system that’s going around the churches of America, get world because I go to a G-12 system church and I’m curious I mean they can’t so many things about it like I don’t know if you’re aware you have any information about it because I haven’t seen no a lot of people talk negative about it never seen nothing ungodly happening in my church and we are a G-12 system church I don’t know if you could help me out with something you know I really don’t know about the G-12 I’m I’m gonna have to do some research and find out for you

Jose. I don’t know what that means. J12 is a system thought about Cessah Catea and Colombia. They start off with 12 leaders. Each third start up with 12 leaders and each leader has to have 4 disciples and that’s how they multiply. Each leader has a leader and they have to fight with 12 and they have small groups and they grow and multiply. I see. If you want to do some research, I’ll go back a week from now. I don’t know.

But I was just curious because I hear so many negative things are buying and I’m praying about it and just how I make sure I’m not in the wrong church. Sure. I’ll do that for you, Jose, and I’ll maybe get back to you sometime and maybe later this week. week. Okay. Thank you, Jose. Thank you. Good listening. All right. It was Jose down in Miami, Florida. Let me take a couple of off-care questions here. We got a bunch of them sitting here, and we find here that Patty from Tampa calls in and says Israel alerted their people that seismic studies show that an earthquake is possible at any time.

How does that, along with threats from Iran, line up with in-time Bible prophecy? Well, we know, according to the Bible, Patty, that there will be earthquakes in diverse places. That’s in 1924 as a sign of the Second Coming in. The frequency of earthquakes around the world is increasing and the magnitude of them is increasing. Obviously, there’s websites now where you can track how many earthquakes are taking place every day and where they are taking place in the world. But biblically, we know also when Christ comes back there’s going to be an earthquake in Jerusalem.

It’s going to divide the city. There’s lots of things about earthquakes, and we just have to say that it’s all part of the mix of the end times. We’re going to see a lot of earthquakes in different places and also in Israel itself. We have Holly in North. I’m not too sure that city, but she writes in with this question off here. Can women be Bible teachers? I know that they’re not doing it. I know that there are not to be preachers, but how about in Sunday school?

And certainly I think they can be used in church and they can give testimony and they can sing and many things. But it has to be under the male leadership and authority of the church. If you read 1 Timothy 2.12, it says that women are not to usurp authority over the man. So if they are asked or invited to teach and they’re invited to sing or to give testimony, then I think that’s just perfectly legitimate. But there really not to be the leaders or really the Bible teachers.

And if you read Titus, it does tell the areas where women ought to focus their teaching. I don’t know if you ever looked at Titus chapter 2, but it has a list here of areas where women are to teach and it talks about the older women teaching younger women in particular and it says here that they are to teach that they may teach verse 4. Second, and this is Titus 2, 4, that they may teach the young women to be sober, that’s number 1, they are to teach the younger women to love their husbands, that’s number 2, they are to teach younger women to love their children, that’s number 3, they are to teach the younger women to be discreet, that’s number four.

They’re to teach younger women to be chased, that’s number five. They’re to teach younger women to be keyfors at home, that’s number six. They’re to teach younger women to be good, that’s number seven. They are to teach younger women to be obedient to their own husbands, that’s number eight, and so on and so on. So it doesn’t really say that they are to be Bible teachers, but I think in the Sunday school they certainly should instruct the children in the scriptures as well.

So I hope that helps a little bit, but there are not to be the preachers, the evangelists, and the elders, or deacons, and certainly God didn’t choose some of the apostles to be women. He chose all the disciples as men, and all the first deacons were men. Hope that helps a little bit. Thank you for calling in. By the way, the phone number here is 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. We’d love to hear from you folks up in Indiana and in West Virginia that are listening.

If you have a question or we’d like to just call and say, hey, I’m hearing the program, we’d love to hear from that. Shamika in St. Petersburg calls in and leaves us all care question. She says those who are saved and then taken home early was this because they did not stop sinning. Well, it looks like that’s the case in 1 Corinthians 5. There you have a man in the Corinthian church living in fornication with his mother or step mother and it says he was proud and puffed up and no, he did not stop sinning.

And so Paul says there in verse 5, of 1 Corinthians 5, to deliver such a one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh that the Spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. So we find that apparently God allowed Satan to kill him, but yet it says his Spirit would be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. When Christ comes back, he would be saved. We have Bernard, and he’s in Tampa, Florida, and Bernard, welcome to Bibleline you’re on Hi, Pastor.

My question is about profits now. There’s a lot of profits and profit is as women, profit is and men profit nowadays. As soon as you go a lot of them out there nowadays and I think their profits stop existing as John when John and the Bible but also that after the what the word became new after everything I’m trying to think of it was all about what are your after the perfect and the perfect which is the word of God that’s in the Bible can get all those things each did.

Well I believe you’re absolutely right. You know in 1 Corinthians 13 and that’s what you’re referencing there verses 8 through 10 it names their three gifts that would totally cease when the New Testament record was complete. that was the gift of knowledge. A lot of preachers are claiming they have to give to knowledge today, and I believe what they have is not what the Bible describes as a gift of knowledge. The gift of prophecy, so that is ceased. There should be no prophets around today.

And then, of course, the gift of tongues. All three did cease, and we don’t have any prophets today. So those that are claiming to be prophets, I would avoid them. I think I’d walk a big circle around them and stay away because this is a counterfeit. What they’re generally doing is they’re doing what a fortune teller would do. They tell you about your short-term future, about how you might meet somebody or come into some money or different things that might happen.

You might sell your house. But the typical gift of prophecy was to be able to tell the future things on God’s program. That’s not a necessary gift anymore because we have the New Testament that tells us that the rapture is what’s next, then the tribulation period. That’s when the Antichrist will be revealed and Christ will come back at his second coming and defeat the Antichrist instead of his kingdom. There will be a thousand year rule and then this earth will be destroyed by fire and God will create a new heavens and a new earth and then we’ll be into eternity.

And many more details are given to us by the gift of prophecy through the writers of the the Bible, but the gift is not around today. Generally they’ll do something very short-term this basically witchcraft and fortune telling and then become psychics and that’s not the biblical gift. So Bernard I hope that helps and thank you very much for that call. We now have Ben in Zephyr Hills Florida and Ben welcome to Bibleline your own ear. Yes hello good morning thank you Dr.

Hank for taking my call. Actually it’s a lot of versus, so I won’t read all those, but Luke chapter, it’s the parable of the good steward, I believe. And I wonder if you could at least give some sort of overview or explain what that means. All right, I’m turning there right now. Luke 16, and I’m almost there. Hold on, hold on, let’s see. Luke 16, and here it talks about the, let’s see here. Yeah, he was a fellow that is unsaved, but he was smarter than Christians in that he was planning for his future.

And so he made friends with people using his money and whatever, but he was planning ahead and obviously many Christians are not planning ahead at all. And the real picture of course I think is eternity. We ought to realize that whatever we do here is going to count for eternity and we ought to be laying up treasures in heaven by living for Christ here. And sometimes the people in this world that are unsaved are smarter in that regard than believers are.

We’re not really preparing for the future by living for Christ now and recognizing the significance of laying up treasures in heaven like Christ has to do. I think that’s the main thrust of that whole passage. Well, thank you. Since you had mentioned parables in your opening, I had just prompted my thinking. A guy asked me a question about that a couple of days ago. And I don’t think I gave him a clear answer. You certainly helped a lot there.

Thank you so much. You’re so welcome, Ben. Thank you for calling in today. And we would love to hear from you if you want to call us at 1-800- hundred five seven six three seven seven one we have Bernard back he had a second question and I guess I didn’t get that second question but not walking back thank you my question is something is those individuals like these profitters that’s out there now they and the profits out there now they do you think it might be following the angel light so they confuse them they doctrine of the thinking what they think is because they listen to the angel because someone think we can with the Holy Spirit.

Yeah, I think sometimes they’re listening to the wrong Spirit and that’s something the Bible warns about is that the only way you can tell whether you’re really hearing the truth from the Spirit of God is to test the Spirit’s against the Bible. First John chapter 4 verse 1 says, Beloved, that’s speaking to the believers, it says, don’t be gullible. So don’t believe everything you hear. It says because there are many false teachers gone out into the world, but test the spirits and we do that.

He says, listen to what they say, but comparing it to Scripture, and if it doesn’t agree with the Bible, then we know it’s not coming from God because God will never lead us into error. And everything that somebody who is on target with God will give you will be in line with Scripture every time. Isaiah 8, 20, one of my favorite verses says, if they speak non according to this word, that is the word of God, it is because there is no light in them.

So when you begin to listen to God, it is because there is no light in them. So when you begin to listen to what they have to say, they usually hang themselves by saying things that are contrary to Scripture. And then you know that’s not coming from God. So that’s the test. Test them against the Scriptures. And even for yourself, it says in 2 Corinthians 13.5, examine yourself whether you be in the faith. In other words, we can get off-track.

So we constantly need to monitor our beliefs and our direction of life and our conduct with the Scripture to see that we’re right in tune with the Lord and where we ought to be. But the Bible is the authority and the Bible is the light that lightens our path and guides our steps. And so we need to be into God’s Word. I sure hope that helps there. That helps tremendously. I hope a lot of individuals out there heard that because there’s so much things going on in that world, you know, and that’s key to it.

Because if the Holy Spirit is leading you, it’s going to lead you back to the Word of God because he’s the author of the Bible. Amen, that is certainly true. And we’re out of time here. It’s amazing. The program goes so quickly. But again, I’m Dr. Anke Lindstrom. It’s been great to be with you today. I hope you’ll tune us in again tomorrow.
