Welcome to Bibleline with Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Coming to you from Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida declaring God’s love through radio and television, providing real answers to an ever-searching world. Got a question? Dial toll-free at 1-800-576-3771. Now here’s the host of Bibleline. Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Hank Lindstrom. Well, good morning and welcome to Bibleline. Great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning into the broadcast. We look forward to being with you every day, Monday through Friday. And we’re coming to you live from our studios here in Tampa, Florida at the Calvert Community Church from the pastor.

Thanks for tuning in today. And hopefully we’ll have a great week together as we talk to you and answer your questions and talk about the scriptures. And thanks for tuning in today. By the way, we’re streaming right now live to the internet. If you would like to catch this program on the internet now, live or later in the day or night or later in the week or maybe next month, you’ll be able to do that by going to BibleLineMinistries.org and just click on that spinning globe and you’ll have our radio programs.

And also, if you click on the TV, you’ll get our TV programs. If you click on the camera, you’ll get our worship services. And if you go to the online bookstore, you’ll get our resource center. I hope you’ll take a look and enjoy the things that we have there. By the way, we have a number of things in our resource center that are inexpensive. We have a book and these are all seven dollars. This is the Bible made easy, seven dollars.

Bible prophecy made easy, $7. Bible study made easy, $7. Bible teachings made easy, $7. Knowing God’s will made easier, $7. The facts on the masons, $7. The facts on Islam, $7. We have one called the Bible Promise Book, a thousand promises from God’s Word in King James for five dollars and we’ve got one called more than a carpenter for six dollars which is a powerful presentation that Jesus Christ is more than a carpenter. He’s actually God who came and took on human flesh.

In addition to that we have the Schofield Bibles which are the old edition which is the one that’s better. It is more to the point and not diluted and watered down as the modern ones are. We also have many other commentaries. I recommend the Jameson Faucet Brown. We have that in three volumes. Covers something on every verse of the Bible. And that one retails for about 150. We have it per gift of 100. That’ll help by the line. We also have the Jay Verda McGee Five Volume commentary.

for something on every chapter of the Bible and its retails for 200, we have it for a gift of 100. Those are nice specials. We also have the Lewis-Perry Shafer systematic theology. Originally in eight biomes, it’s now been published nothing missing in four volumes and we have that wonderful set that goes for about 180 dollars for a gift of 100 dollars also. So you might want to get some of those things if you’re the more serious student, but also for the one who is looking for an inexpensive gift, we’ve got a lot of inexpensive things.

We have some wonderful tracks also that are great for evangelism. The MI going to heaven track, we have in Spanish, we have two different forms of it in English and this track does the job for you. All the verses are there, highlighted in a different color and most people will take this track because it has a quiz in it. It’s very intriguing and it’ll actually lead a person to Christ without you doing anything. If you just get it in somebody’s hands and they’ll take the quiz and then read the answers, they’ll get it, they’ll have it.

And we’ve seen a lot of folks get saved just by reading the track. You know, we had somebody say that they used to have a lot of tracks. They were pretty. They had sometimes a nice story, but they never let anybody to Christ with them. Well, they love our tracks that they have found and discovered now because they say these tracks really work. They actually lead people to Christ. They’re not exciting and it really is exciting. We’re going to get into the Bible for a few minutes and then we’re going to, of course, take our callers.

If you’d like to call us here at Bibleline, you can get up on the air with us live or you can leave an off air question. in the number is 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Give us a call. We’d love to hear from you. And also, if you go to our website, BibleLineMinistries.org, click on the spinning globe. It’ll come up with a radio page that already is set to go for you to type in your question, put your first name in your city, hit submit, and we’ll get that.

and we’ll try to get your question answered on the air. So that makes it real easy for you to get a message to us quickly about an offer question if you’d like to hear us answer that on the air. We’re going to turn in our Bibles to Luke’s Gospel, chapter 16, and this is a fascinating passage here. This is not a parable. This is not a parable. How do we know it’s not a parable? Because Jesus names real people specific individuals in this chapter.

And what is so fascinating about this particular chapter, Luke 16 in the Bible, is that Jesus pulls back the curtain on the unseen world and we get to see what happens at the very moment of death to a person who’s saved, to a person who’s lost, and it’s very fascinating to be able to have that insight, which otherwise you really wouldn’t know. So we find that two men are contemporaries and they both die, but one goes to heaven and one goes to Hades eventually.

He’ll wind up in hell. It says in verse 19 of Luke 16, there was a certain witch man which was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day. there was a certain beggar named Lazarus which was laid at his gate full of source. Notice that names here by name Lazarus was the same fellow. He’s a beggar. He is obviously not in good condition health wise. Also he’s not in good condition money wise. He has to eat off the crumbs of the rich man’s table.

It says verse 21, and desiring to be fed with crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table, it says more over the dogs came and lick his sword. So his health was not good, his financial condition was not good, but yet he was saved. Verse 22, it says, and it came to pass. Time went along here and they both died. It says Here’s your, it came to pass that the beggar died and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom.

So, we learn here that angels do assist in taking the soul of a dying person directly to be with the other believers. I really think that that’s because Satan would like to prevent that from happening. And so angels give us safe escort into the presence of the Lord. Here in this case before the cross, the saved went to the heart of the earth to a place called Paradise, but even then angels escorted the soul of the person who was saved.

When we die, also angels, I believe, assist in giving a safe escort through the atmosphere on up to be with the Lord in heaven. And that’s because Satan is the one who controls the atmosphere on this earth and he would love to prevent you and me from being able to go directly to the Lord. You know what the Bible says for the believer? Absent from the body, present with the Lord, 2 Corinthians 5-8. What a great verse that is, 2 Corinthians 5-8.

Well, here it came to pass the bigger dine and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom, Abraham and the Bible, as described as the Father of all who believe. Whether you are Jew, whether you are Gentile, whether you are under the law or not under the law, and whether you are a slave or whether you are a free man, if you trusted Christ, Abraham was your spiritual father in that everybody who has ever saved is Saved the way Abraham was saved and guess how he was saved He simply trusted on Jesus as his Savior Way back there in Genesis chapter 15 we read about it.

He was told about the Messiah coming of His loins, a physical descendant of Him, and that He believed that promise. Genesis 15 says, Abraham believed what God told him about Jesus, and it was counted to Him for righteousness. So Abraham was made righteous, and he was saved based upon his faith or trust in Jesus. Jesus Christ is Savior. And by the way, the New Testament supports that teaching. It says in Galatians 3, 8, the Scriptures, speaking of the Old Testament, foreseen that God would justify the nations through faith preached before the Gospel and Abraham.

That’s right. Abraham heard the Gospel, believed the Gospel, and that’s how he got saved, believing the message of the death, the barrel of the resurrection of Christ. Well the Bible tells us here in verse 22 the rich man also died and was buried and in hell and it reads hell but actually the Greek word is Hades and Hades is not the same place as hell. Everybody in Hades will eventually be cast into hell but Hades is a place where the The lost will wait until Satan, the one for whom hell was created, will be first in, then his angels, and then everybody in the human race that has rejected Christ will be cast in to the place prepared for the devil and his angels.

So it reads here in hell, it should read Hades, he lifted up his eyes being in torment. And notice he can look afar off and see Abraham and Lazarus with him. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me. It says, for I am tormented in this flame, send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue. Here’s a man in flame in torment. And yet he can see Abraham and Lazarus.

How can that be? Well the Bible describes here that there is an impassable gulf that separated between where the saved were and the lost were in the heart of the earth. It was impassable. How do we know? Well it tells us that in verse 26 where it says, decide all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed so that they that would come from, uh, uh, hence to you cannot, neither can they pass to us that would come from Pence.

So we find that those that were in the torment part could not cross over to where the save were and the save part, they couldn’t cross over to where the lost were in flame and torment. So Lazarus wouldn’t have been able to make the journey across the gulf. It was an impassable gulf. By the way, when Jesus died, Jesus went into that place where Lazarus went, and where all the Old Testament saints were waiting for their sins to be paid for, and on the third day, Jesus opens up that place in the heart of the earth and takes all the believers up to heaven and no longer are there any believers in the heart of the earth.

The unbelievers are still there in Flame and Forman in Hades, but the believers are gone. I want to read from Ephesians chapter 4. And by the way, some of the modern translations absolutely destroy and eliminate this story completely. If you have, for example, the living Bible or the new living Bible, they absolutely destroy it. It’s gone. It’s just not there. what’s so sad about some of the new Bibles, you get cheated. You get cheated. That’s right. And you need to be alert to that because many wonderful verses are just eliminated.

Totally. The NIV drops 44 verses in their entirety. Let me read to you from Ephesians 4 and it says in verse 8, wherefore he saith? When he Christ ascended up on high, he led captivity captive and gave gifts unto men. What group was that? That was the people that were saved of the Old Testament who had to wait in the heart of the earth in this place called paradise for their sins to be paid for. They had what I call a layaway salvation.

He was laid away for them. They had the promise that they would receive it, but they couldn’t enjoy it until it was fully paid for. And when Jesus died on the cross, He Himself went down there into the heart of the earth. Let’s read on here in verse 9 of Ephesians 4. Now He that ascended, what is it but that He also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? Verse 10 tells us, He that descended, that’s Christ.

Notice, is the same that us ended up far above all heavens that he might fill all things. So here it tells us that Christ descended into the lower parts of the earth, and when he ascended he led this group captive up to heaven. That’s what happened to all the Old Testament saints. This side of the cross, we now go directly to heaven. We don’t have to go through the heart of the earth anymore. absent from the body, present with the Lord, but the Old Testament saints knew that they had to go to this place of waiting in the heart of the earth called Paradise.

Jesus told the dying thief in Luke 23, 43, today thou shalt be with me in Paradise. Well, what an interesting chapter. And we find that the rich man was lost and in flame and torment, but he all of a sudden becomes aware that he doesn’t want his brothers to join him. He says, I have five brothers on the earth, and please, please, send Lazarus there, someone to witness to my five brothers lest they also come to this place of torment.

Well, you know, nobody who dies who’s unsaved, wants any family members to join them. They know what it’s like. And here he gets interested in prayer. He gets interested in evangelism, but it’s too late for him. It’s too late. Once a person dies, it is too late. You cannot say prayers for the dead. You cannot like candles for the dead. You cannot say masses for the dead and think that they’re going to get any help. You cannot help somebody after they’re dead.

That’s why it’s so important to witness while people are still alive. That’s why it’s so important to give the gospel to your loved ones while they’re still living. If you’re listening right now and you’ve never been sure about where you would spend eternity, Would you right now trust Jesus as your Savior? If you don’t know what to do or what to say, just say something like this, God, I admit that I’m a sinner and we all are. That’s just being honest.

But God, what I heard made sense and I trust Jesus Christ right now as my Savior, as my only means or hope of reaching heaven, I trust Jesus Christ as the one who died and by By his death and shed blood, paid for my sins and purchased my salvation. And I trust him right now to forgive me, to save me, to give me the gift of eternal life, and to be my only means by which I will reach heaven one day.

You know the moment you do that, God, if it has been those, and He saves you. Would you whisper that prayer right now wherever you are? You might be driving. You might be sitting. You might be walking. You might be standing, you might be in your car or truck or in your home or office. But wherever you might be, would you right now, just say, Lord, I’m a sinner, but I trust Jesus Christ right now as my Savior, believing that He died by His death and shed blood, paid for my sin debt, and purchased by salvation, I trust Him right now to forgive me to save me and my friend the moment you do, you’re saved.

You’re saved forever because Jesus paid it all. There’s nothing for you to do but receive it by faith. We have Tom and Tampa. I want you to call me if you have a question. It’s 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. And we’re going to go down to Tampa, Florida and talk to Tom who’s been patiently waiting and Tom won’t come to Bible and you’re on the air. Yes, Dr. Lynch, I have a question. And, um, um, uh, reference three, uh, Bible verses. At number one, first Bible verse you’re familiar with is Genesis 12, 2, and 3.

And then Genesis 10, 3. In the United States and Genesis 12, in Judaism, I’ve always wondered about this. There’s just as there is in Islam, there’s two main sects. You’ve got the Ashkenazi as well as the Sephardic. In Obadiah 20, it mentions the Sephora, in my fact, part of the verse, this is mentioning the captivity of Jerusalem, which is the Sephora shall possess the cities of the south. However, when you go to Genesis 10, 3, it mentions makes reference to the Ashkenazi.

The Oskanology, which is the Sons of Gomar, which came from the Son of Japus. And the Oskanology, they’re not bloodline Jews. Michael. My question is, where does the blessing go to bloodline or does it go to anybody that claims that they are? I believe it only goes through the bloodline. If you read Romans 9, it says, those who are loved the seed of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, God had planned out the plan of redemption and salvation and how the Messiah would come through that line and that’s the descendants of God promised thee, we blessed back in Genesis.

I’ll bless them, bless the encursed them at Kirsty and that blessing and curse has never been rescinded and is still operative even to this very day. And we find that when the Prophet Balaam, who was wanting to get hired to preach whatever message they’d asked him to preach, he was about to do what Balaek wanted to do and curse Israel. And God got his attention and almost killed him and that his donkey speak out in the morning because he was stubborn in not paying attention.

And we find that finally when he stood up on that high hill and overlooked the nation of Israel. said how or bail him said how can I curse that which God is blessed he cannot so when God has blessed Israel he’s they cannot be cursed by God or by a prophet of God they are going to ultimately be blessed and we find that that blessing is still coming about first of all it says in the promise of salvation all the nations of the earth would be blessed through the Messiah that we come through Israel but also the earthly promises will be fulfilled and the whole earth will be blessed as Israel becomes the head nation on the earth in Jerusalem with Christ their king ruling over them and ruling over all the other kings of the earth and the whole earth will come under the authority of

Jesus and the head nation on the earth, the richest nation on the earth, the most blessed nation of the earth will be Israel during that time. But I really believe from the book of Romans 9, 10 and 11 is clearly the bloodline. Well, you know what I find very fascinating, and it is very interesting, the, you know, when Islam came, you know, basically took over, you know, most of Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. Many, many Jews converted over to Islam, and I know that a lot of the Palestinians, their Anasthetans were Jews, bloodline Jews.

Well, you know, they were forced to. It was either converted over or be killed because Islam would kill the infidel. So if you wanted to stay alive, you had to do what you had to do. And obviously that also happened under Catholicism as well. I know in Spain in 1492, the same year that Columbus sailed the ocean blue, the command was made. Either you leave Spain which many Jewish people did or convert to Catholicism which many Jews did or die, which also happened while the Jews were killed.

So this has been under the threat of the sword that many converted to Islam. But Islam came only 600 years after Christ and stole from the Old Testament teachings about the Jews and also stole from the New Testament teachings about Christ and put this This whole concoction together you’ll find a lot of direct quotes right from the Bible in the Quran. Oh, I know that to be a fact. I find it very interesting because you have this mixture now in the Middle East of Palestinians who are actually bloodline Jews.

I believe that when Jesus appears… And a nation would be reborn. You’re recommending it with an interesting discussion. And of course ultimately, only those Jews that have trusted Christ will be spared at the end of the tribulation period when Christ returns visibly to rule over the earth. And they are the only ones who will enter into the millennium along with Gentiles who have trusted Christ and Jews who trust Christ. Only they will enter in all unbelievers will be slain at the Second Coming of Christ.

Our phone lines will be sent to the end of the day. or light it up, but we’ll have to keep everybody held over the break. We’re coming up on that break time right now. And again, we’re going to take a short break and come back. If you haven’t, by the way, helped Bibleline, would you consider praying for Bibleline? And also, if you could give a financial gift, it would really help us here during the lean months of the summer.

And we could certainly use your help today. If you could call and give a gift to Bibleline, it would be greatly appreciated. And we need your help. This is a time when if you can help us, you would really benefit us because of the tightness of the summer. When people are having vacations and we are having an economy like we have it, we could use your help. So call and see if you can give a gift today or call for an envelope to be sent with our address and mail that gift in.

We’re going to take a short break. We’ll be right back to keeping radio tune right where it is. I’m Dr. Englund’s from saying hold that radio tight. We’ll be right back and do part two of the Second Half Hour of Bible Life. Don’t go away. Bible Life will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well, I’m Dr. Englund’s from it. It’s fun to be with you every day, Monday through Friday, and here we are Tuesday and looking forward to a great week.

Thank you for tuning in today, And if you’ll tell your friends about the program, maybe they can join us for the rest of the week as well. And by the way, they don’t have to live even in the United States. They can live anywhere in the world because of the Internet. That is amazing to me. You know, I was in Israel. We met a wonderful group of Nigerian Christians. I invited them to come to my hotel for the Bible study I had in the evening in our hotel in Israel.

And about 40 of them came. And one of them stood up and said, he listened to Bibleline in Nigeria. I was blown away. How amazing. Here I travel from the United States to Israel. Here this fellow traveled from Nigeria to Israel. We meet up and he’s a listener to the Bibleline program. We know we have people all over the world. 158 countries have logon to the internet site. So maybe you have missionaries. Maybe you have family. Maybe you have people in the military.

be in another part of the world. They can actually tune in our worship services and see and hear the sermons. They can listen to the radio programs as often as they like. They can download them for their iPod and carry them around with them and listen to them at their leisure. I hope you’ll pass that word along. And we have people all the time asking, how can we hear by the line where we live? And if we are not broadcasting in your city, you can hear us on the internet wherever you might be by going to BibleLineMinistries.org BibleLineMinistries.org.

Click on the spinning globe and you’ve got radio. Click on the TV set and you’ve got television. Click on the camera and you’ve got our worship services. And by the way, this past Sunday’s sermon was about the Jews. We just had a question about that and it was about how God is going to bless the Jews and curse those who curse the Jews and that’s all in some of these messages you might want to go back and look at that.

That’s right there on the internet sitting waiting for you to take a look at. By the way again we mentioned some of the books we have in our bookstore. Not everything is expensive. We have a lot of items that are under ten dollars and you might call and ask for a resource sheet to be sent. Or you might just call and ask what items do you feature that are less than $5. Maybe you want to give it an expensive gift to someone.

Or maybe you want a book that will help you that you don’t have a lot of money and you’d like to get something like that. We’ll ship it right out. . . . . . . Give us a call. We’re going to rejoin stations now at a bit on break. Do the second half hour Bibleline, so keep your radio right where it is. And we’ll do another half hour, so stay tuned right here.

Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Bible and it’s great to be with you. And again, thank you for listening. We had a number of people that came by our resource center yesterday and they tell me how they listen as often as they can. And we’re just humbled and blessed as we hear about the results of Bible and how we’re helping Christians to grow, to become strong, to become witnessing Christians as they tell me they learn how to be able to talk to their friends with confidence and to be able to tell them about how they can be saved.

And we are so excited about that. We’ve had people tell us they’ve gone into Christian work because of it. We have a missionary that just left for Japan and he’s using our materials. He says they are so powerful. in Japan in using the clear presentation of the gospel in leading Japanese to Christ. We are excited about that. Please pray for those that are out there giving out a clear message of the gospel. We know we have missionaries not only in Japan that are listening, but Korea and Africa and around the world that have found the Bible and program.

I hope you help us pass that word along. Would you email your missionaries or write them a letter given the address for BibleLineMinistries.org? And we know that so far six continents have logged on the islands of the Pacific, Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Asia, India, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, South America, Central America, and all across North America, including Canada and Alaska. And we’re excited about that. And we thank you for your prayers, which we believe God is answering in blessing, Bible and allowing us to reach out.

So pray for Bible and if you could give a gift, we would certainly appreciate it. We are a list of your support. We have no other means and summer is tight for us and we can do your help. Could you say I could give a little extra or I could give something to Bible and call and offer to give one over the phone by credit card or call and ask for an envelope to be sent and mail your gift in or listen carefully at the end of the program and just copy down the address and mail that gift in.

God bless you. Thank you in advance. We appreciate every one of you who pray for and give the Bible and because you’re the ones who enable us to be on the air every day. Thank you, thank you, thank you. We’re now going to go to Miami. We have Jan on the line in Miami and Jan, welcome to Bible and you’re on the air. Good morning. Hi. I had the question. Last Friday I believe it was you were speaking with a caller about replacement theology and and spreaderism, are they the same thing?

Yeah, pretty much the same thing. It’s called dominionism, post-millennialism, or millennialism, spreaderism, replacement theology, are pretty much all in the same boat, the same camp. And they reject that there is a future earthly plan for the nation of Israel here on this earth and reject the prophecies about that kingdom, which most of the major minor prophets talk about. and certainly the book of Revelation talks about it says six times in chapter 20 about a kingdom that will be a thousand years of length and it rejects all of that.

And you had said, I believe, I got in on only part of it, that James Kennedy and Archie Sproul had signed a letter or a statement concerning this on the Knox. Yeah, there was an open letter there. If you have trouble getting it, you can call after the program and we’ll be glad to give you the direct links so you can find it. I couldn’t get it. It’s hard to say. It’s kind of hidden way down underneath the layers.

But yes, it comes right out and says that what is happening in Israel today is not a fulfillment of prophecy. And we’re not to expect anything like what is happening to be a fulfillment of biblical prophecy that the people in the state of Israel today have absolutely no claim to that land. And it’s amazing. Of course, we covered those scriptures from Jeremiah 31 where it says in verse 35, as long as the sun is still shining and the moon and the stars are seen at night, God says I’m not done with Israel.

I was just surprised to see those two names attached to that family. Well, you know, I think more than that. And that’s amazing because you have the second signer when you read the list of those who signed RC Spoles No. 2. Okay, well, I will call after and get the instructions on how to get there. We’ll be happy to do that for you================ Okay, well, thank you so much. You’re welcome. Thank you, Jan, in Miami, Florida. Florida. And actually this teaching began with Augustine in the 5th century has carried down to this very hour through the Roman Catholic Church.

And most of the Reformation churches have carried that bad doctrine as well. And it has really been the root of anti-Semitism in Christianity, which is a shame that Christians would hate Jews. But I talked to a lady just this other day and she said, you know, when she was raised a little girl, she was always told that the Jews were Christ-killers and therefore we should not like them. And I said, isn’t that sad? That’s exactly what this is all about.

And we need to love the Jew, we need to win the Jew to Christ. Paul says in Romans 9, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they might be saved. And he tells about how they need to understand that it’s not by works, just like us Gentiles need to understand that. And it’s just by simple faith in Christ and what he’s done for us. We’re now going to go to Ken in Clearwater, Florida, and Ken, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air.

Good morning, Pastor Hank. The first one relates to your opening comments there, but Luke 16, one thing that’s understanding understanding over the years that I understand that before the Cross, the believers of Saul would go to Paradise and the son of the earth and after the Cross, according to 2 Corinthians there, would go to heaven and not have to go to Paradise. But the thing that confuses me is to look about the thief when he says he will be in Paradise with me.

to me that seems like that would be after the cross and the thief could go to directly the heaven unless he was just sort of a company, Christ on the lake to pay advice on the trip to bring back the believers there and the thief would only be impureged by sort of momentarily. Is it right or that right? Well, exactly. Exactly, and the reason why is because Christ had not yet announced the victory that happened And then…

at the cross to the Old Testament Saints. Then after the three days of celebration of the victory he had in paradise, he opened the place up and took them all out. We just read that passage in Isaiah, nces rather, excuse me, Ephesians 4, 8-10 where Christ ascended and then he led this group out of there and rewarded them and he descended into the lower parts of the earth and then he ascended far above all visible heavens to fulfill these things.

obviously he that was in that catch all time of three days where he had to uh… wait and join the rest of the old estimates and simply take it up to heaven uh… with christ okay i understand that my second question is Looking at the confusion when I try to explain the gospel and Christianity to some people. I think you’ve mentioned, of course, it says that the way it is pretty narrow to salvation if I understand it correctly. And I think I’ve heard you comment over the years that there’s probably a relatively small fraction of people that have been saved or in heaven.

And one thing that comes up with explaining that is somebody might ask, well, If most people have been created or in hell, why would a loving God do that? He knows basically what’s going to happen in the end. And only a small fraction would be saved. It’s just sometimes it’s hard for me to explain in other way being narrow to salvation, which I understand. But when you look at the numbers, when people ask, you know, that particular question, and I’ll hang up a little bit.

thank you can it’s a good question and it comes up all the time uh… jesus of course is the way and it’s narrow uh… because uh… is only one way i have been accused over the years of being narrow-minded people say You mean to say only? Christians, only believers in Christ will go to heaven. Well, you’re sure narrow minded. You need to be more inclusive and let other groups in. And I’m telling him, I don’t make the rules. That’s what God set down.

And he says that there’s lots of ways that Satan is presented to go to hell. And unfortunately, many are those that go in there at because you can choose any religion you want and they’ll all take you to hell. Every one of them. There’s only one way to heaven, and that’s Jesus Christ, and all those who put their trust in Christ will go to heaven. And it’s unfortunate that man will have a tendency to go his own way and reject the truth.

Sometimes when it’s given to them, they’ll say, I don’t want it, I don’t want to hear it. But actually, God is not sending people to hell. The whole human race is lost because of sin, and he is providing a means of rescue which could potentially save every human being that has ever been born. The Bible tells us in 2 Peter 3.9 that God is long-suffering. He gives us, sometimes, extra years to live so that we might have opportunity to trust the Lord because it says he is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repent.

So God desires for everybody to be saved. He wants everybody to go to heaven. But we can’t blame God. We have to say that the whole human race is already condemned. They have all sinned and have come short of the glory of God. But God has provided a Savior for the whole world. And it’s his and John 3 16 for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. That whosoever any and all that would believe on Christ would be saved.

Ken, I hope that helps. We now have Mary in Spring Hill, Florida. And Mary, welcome to my blind. You are on the air. Yes, Pastor Hank, a comment. Noah was really narrow-minded, wasn’t he? He certainly was. He was only one of eight people that believed it was going to be a flood. Yeah, my comment was, what is your opinion on the Mediterranean Union? Have you heard about that? No, I’m not too sure what that is. Tell me about it.

Sarkozy is creating a Mediterranean Union with Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, and Israel. Ah, look at that. Well, I learned something new every day. You know, it’s interesting how the world is kind of aligning itself. I think to survive probably economically and in every way with the conditions we have with oil and shortages of food and the different economic blocks that kind of control everything. I think people are trying to come together to try to say this is the only way we’re going to survive is if we can kind of hook up with other people.

So I’m curious about that, but I’m not too sure how it plays into Bible prophecy. Don’t you find it interesting? Yes, I do. And of course, ultimately, all the goal is to have a world government, which is what Satan wants to try to do. And we can see the push for a world bank, for a world government, for a world religion, for one universal language. And all of this is really taking us back to the Tower of Babel, which, of course, corrupted the Earth so quickly.

And then God judged it. And again, we’re going to come right back to that point. which all began by the way to our act and here we are back in a racket it’s all ready to have uh… uh… this come together where christ will have to come back in and uh… take over the earth uh… and destroy the christ and with the pope trying to get together with all the other religions so we can all get along it’s just amazing isn’t it because uh…

he doesn’t try to uh… point out that they’re wrong because catholic’s and teaches as long as there’s considered whatever god they believe in they’re going to make Yeah, it’s really exciting. I know it is. But Jesus said, I am the way the truth and the life. And no man come with unto the Father but by me. So we need to obviously let people know that there’s no other way to heaven than Jesus himself. I thank you and I appreciate your ministry.

Well, you’re very welcome. Thank you for listening up there in Spring Hill, Florida. And this is Bibleline. If you’d like to call in, the phone number is. Let me announce it again. 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. You know, this summer here has been a time of lightning. We’ve had several stations that were on take lightning hits and have been repairing their towers and had been on reduced power. So maybe if you’re struggling to listen someplace, calls and let us know. But we have already been informed about some Well, we’re going to take a couple of offer questions real quick here and then we’ll take the live callers again that numbers one eight hundred five seven six three seven seven one if you want to call in one eight hundred five seven six three seven seven one John and Miami calls in and leaves this offer question he says are there any scriptures that talk about

Satan on earth during the time. of the dinosaurs. Also, what do you think about the new living translation? Well, I believe that Jeremiah, chapter 4, takes us all the way back to when the earth existed with plants, animals, and dinosaurs prior to Genesis 1-2. And I believe it describes where God destroys all the life on the earth and it becomes, as you find it in Genesis 1-2, and the earth was without form and void. So yes, I think that’s one of the references.

And if you have a Scofield Bible of the note, there is quite fascinating. But apparently Jeremiah got a trip back through time and saw the earth as it had been destroyed. And it says there, God brought the earth to its knees by his anger and his presence. So God himself personally destroyed the life on this planet. And then the seven days we believe we’re recreating a week so that man can be placed on the earth. About the new living translation, it’s terrible.

It’s obviously a paraphrase, which means they can say whatever they want to say. As I said earlier today, they completely destroyed the story of Christ going down into the heart of the earth. They make it to be that Christ came down to the surface of the earth and they destroy the story that He goes down into the heart of the earth and takes paradise and opens the gates and lets those people out to go to heaven. And now this side of the cross we go straight to heaven, absent from the body, present with the Lord.

There’s a ton of examples. Also in James, it makes salvation out to be by works. It talks about justification by works, which has to do with the believer being justified before men in that they would believe he does have faith. But they translate it that you’re saved by works. Totally different concept, totally wrong. And I don’t want to get cranked up too hard on the new living because it stirs me up, but I think it’s a bad one. And you recognize what you have when you’ve got a paraphrase, especially.

We’re going to go to Jeff now, and he’s in Palmetto, Florida. And Jeff, welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Oh, hello, let me turn the radio off there. I’m going to ask a question and hang up, sir. Sure, OK, OK. I’ve been reading the Thessalonians for a second. Thessalonians. Paul has come them not to be ignorant that the day of the Lord won’t come until the son of tradition is revealed and that he’s going to sit in the temple, declaring himself to be God.

And then he goes on later and he says if you could also comment about when they say peace and safety is last. Is that like when a world leader would take over and say they say there’s not going to be any more wars and stuff and I’ll hang up and listen to your answer. Okay. The piece of safety part is first Thessalonians 5 and it talks about prior to the Rapture that there would be talk of peace and security and then boom the Rapture would happen and the tribulation period a time of sudden destruction would come upon the world and they would not escape.

But it tells us in verse 4, 1st Thessalonians 5, that we will not be called off guard by the rapture for reading our Bibles, and that we will escape the tribulation period that will come upon the earth. Then chapter 2 of 2 Thessalonians talks about the day of the Lord which includes the seven year tribulation period and all of the millennium. in the broad sense the thousand years from the rapture until the end of the millennium, a seven year tribulation period plus a thousand year earthly reign of Christ.

And the marking of the beginning of the tribulation period is the revealing of the anachrist. And he’s revealed only after the Holy Spirit is taken out at the rapture, which he’s the 1 in chapter 2 of 2nd Thessalonians. The Restrains Evil in this world by being in us who are believers and when he’s taken out we go out and then the Antichrist will be revealed. He’ll go into a rebuilt temple in Jerusalem and proclaim that he’s God to bend to be worship.

And then verse 8 tells us that Christ will come back and destroy the Antichrist with the brightness of his coming. Hopefully that gives a little clarity there and I have several teaching series where I go over this in great detail. If you want to get the CD series on that, Jeff, I think it would be very helpful. We also here have Jacob and Jacob is in St. Petersburg and waiting patiently and Jacob welcome to Bibleline you’re on the end.

Oh yeah and I know that it says in the Old Testament Leviticus against tattoos but I’ve also heard that that’s under the old covenant being the Old Testament and it were under a new covenant with the death of Christ the Christ of Wonder and where you thought about that. I think it’s still enforced today. God says in Leviticus 19, 28, that you’re not to print any marks on your body and you’re not to make any cuttings in your body.

But if you read 1 Corinthians 6, 19, and 20 in the New Testament, it talks about how the Christ when he died purchased your body. And it says, therefore, glorify God in your body, in your spirit, which are his. So obviously, how do tattoos and body piercings glorify the Lord? They don’t. It’s actually like riding your feet on the beautiful body that God gave you. And if you had somebody write graffiti all over your house, you would be outraged and you would want to probably call the police and claim vandalism had taken place.

But look at how many people are doing vandalism and riding your feet on the beautiful body God gave him. We’re not to defile this body. There are numerous verses in the New Testament that would say that. I would point you first to 1 Corinthians 6, 19, and 20. But Luke, I rather Leviticus 19, 28 clearly says, don’t print any marks and not do any cuttings in your body. What has happened today? Well, when I was young, we saw those kind of things on in national geographic and the jungles around the world where people were far from God and into paganism.

But now, wow, it’s in mainstream America. And what has happened is just amazing how we have gone so far away from God in our country today. We’re living close to when Christ is going to come back and judge this world for sure. Thank you for that call. We’re now going to go to Neftali in Pinellas Park and Neftali. Welcome to the Bible and you are on the air. Dr. Icy. And you have a question? Yes sir, my question is about if you believe in Christ.

That’s correct. The moment you trust Christ you are saved from that moment eternally forward and so you’ll never be lost once you come to know Christ. Okay, so yeah, I find that a little difficult because if I believe to, and I should also go into the Bible and have a relationship with the Lord and then follow. Well, guess what? We certainly ought to live for the Lord, but nobody’s ever been saved by keeping the Ten Commandments. It says in Galatians 3.11 that no man is justified by the works of the law.

It’s evident in fact in Galatians 3 10 it says cursed is everyone that is attempting to be saved by the law or by works. You’ll go to hell if you attempt to be saved by the works of the law. And basically salvation has nothing to do with our works, nothing to do with our behavior, nothing to do with our conduct. Salvation is something that God purchased with disregard to us totally except that He He loved us and took our sins and paid for them.

When you trust in His finished work at the cross, God saves you and He saves you eternally. Now whatever good works we do, we do out of love, out of gratitude, out of thankfulness to the Lord for what He has done for us. But if you are attempting to enter heaven or think you have to enter heaven by doing any good works or keeping the commandments, you will not be saved. The Bible makes that very clear. Many of the New Testament Epistles deal directly with that, that we cannot redeem ourselves by anything that we do.

And it says in 1 Peter 1 that we are redeemed with the precious blood. The Lord Jesus Christ who is the sinless, spotless Lamb of God who is slain to pay for our sins. So I’m sure understand what you’re thinking there, but I had to realize that salvation had nothing to do with my works. And when I simply trusted Christ, which is the way everybody who is saved is saved, just like the dying thief, there was nothing he could do.

He couldn’t get baptized. He couldn’t join a church. He couldn’t live the Christian life. He couldn’t do good for the poor. He was dying. He had seconds, maybe minutes left. And he trusted Christ, and Jesus said to him, in Luke 23, 43, today thou shall be with me in paradise. So hopefully that helps a little bit, but take a fresh look at, for example, Ephesians, chapter two, verses eight and nine in particular. It says salvation is not a worksist by grace.
