We have some great stuff in our resource center. We have a terrific booklet by Dr. Charles Swindall on divorce and remarriage. I think it’s seven dollars. And that really is the best presentation I’ve ever seen on the topic by giving you the different scenarios and covering what the scripture says. That’s a good one. Divorce and remarriage by Chuck Swindall. We also have the Schofield Bible in Spanish and in English. We have the 1909-1917 edition, which is what you want.

The newer ones have been watered down and the notes have been changed and they’re inferior in my opinion. So I would hope that you’d be at the old school field, which is the only one that we offer here at Bibleline. If you’d like to call in again that number is 1-800-576-3771. I hope you’ll give us a call. We’re going to open our Bibles to Roman, rather John’s Gospel, chapter 8. John’s Gospel, chapter 8. And it’s interesting that people get confused.

And some of the times the confusion is caused by preachers who don’t rightly divide the word of truth. And we know that lordship salvation comes up which has to do with the Christian life, not about salvation. To try to say that you must submit yourself to the lordship of Christ to be saved is not correct. You simply trust Christ to be saved and then you make make a decision to become a disciple which is where you submit yourself to the Lordship of Christ.

Let me give you an example. If you have your Bible open to John’s Gospel, we have a group here of unsaved people that are listening to Jesus and Jesus says to them in verse 24, I said therefore unto you that you shall die in your sins, for if you believe not that I am, you shall die in your sins. What he’s saying here is that he’s God. He says here that he is I AM. That’s the divine title that God used back in the book of Exodus when he appeared to Moses at the Burning Bush.

And when Moses asked God his name, he said, my name is I AM. Well, Jesus is claiming to be the very God that appeared to Abraham and Isaac and Jacob that at the burning bush appeared to Moses, and this is who Jesus is claiming to be, not just a man, but he is God in flesh the Savior. And then of course he goes on in this discussion, and in verse 30 of John chapter 8 it says, and as he spoke these words, many believed on him.

If you’re marking your Bible, look at that phrase, many believed on him. They got saved. They believe, of course, the Greek word here is bestuo, P-I-S-T-E-U-O, and it really means best to trust. The Greek word means to trust, to rely upon, to put your confidence in, to rest your weight upon, and when you trust Christ, that’s when you become the same. The English word believe can mean a sense to historical facts, but that doesn’t say, You have to trust Christ that He died for you and shed His blood and was buried and rose again from the dead.

To be said, that’s the gospel message. And we find here that as He’s picked these words, many believe on Him. But are you ready now for a lesson in rightly dividing the word of truth? If you will look carefully here with me, it says in verse 31 of John 8, then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him. Notice a group believed on him in verse 30, they got saved, they trusted him, and then he now addresses his message to those that believed on him and he says, if you continue, if you continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed.

Then so you’re saved, they were saved when they believed on him. Earlier in John’s Jesus says in John 647, verily, verily I say unto you, he that believeth on me has everlasting life. So when you believe on Christ, or trust on Christ as your Savior, you possess everlasting life at that very moment, and forever thereafter. But then he addresses those that had believed on him, and he says, if you, those who had believed on him, those that had just gotten saved.

If you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed. So there’s a vast difference between being saved and being a disciple. To be a believer, you simply come to Christ and trust Him as the one who died on the cross to pay for your sins. To be a disciple, you have to follow Christ and live for Christ and that has to do with the Christian life and that is really a totally separate decision and a totally separate event.

I became saved when I trusted Christ as Savior at 18. It was about a year later that I chose to continue and to follow Christ and to live for Him and I became a disciple about a year later. And we find that… Usually, there is a time interval between somebody getting saved and making that decision to live for Christ and serve Christ. But salvation is a gift and it has nothing to do with you continuing. The Bible says that the moment you believe you’re passed from death unto life, John 524, we find that the moment you believe you possess everlasting life, John 647, at the moment you believe God says that you will never go to hell.

John 524 and John 1028. At the moment you believe God promises that no one will be able to pluck you out of his hand. You are saved and secure and your salvation is settled and you’re going to go to heaven no matter what. The moment you trust Christ you receive eternal life which is irreversible. But now the Christian life is another ball game. And Christ speaks to those that had gotten saved that believed on him in John 8.30. In verse 31 he addresses them and he says to those that believe on him, if you continue in my word, then are you my disciples.

Let’s go over to Mark chapter 8 where we have a discussion here where here he is saying to those disciples in verse 34, Whosoever will come after me. That has to do with discipleship. A tip-off is when you’re rightly dividing. When you look for the phrase, come to that Solation. You simply come to Christ to be saved. Matthew 11, 28, come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden and I’ll give you rest. All you have to do is come to Christ and trust Him as your Savior and you become saved.

But here it says, his deliver will come after me. That has to do with the Christian life. That has to do with what is required to become a disciple. And it says, his deliver will come after me, let him notice deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. Those are all conditions for the Christian life. And in this wonderful passage it talks about in verse 35, whosoever will save his life shall lose it, but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospels the same shall save it.

What I’m talking about here is what are you going to do with your Christian life that you have once you get saved? If you spend it for yourself, your life that is, then you will have lost it because you will have lost the value you could have had you used it for Christ. If you live for Christ there are eternal rewards that can be earned. are treasures in heaven that we can lay up as we do things for the Lord.

Jesus said in Matthew 6, don’t lay up for yourselves treasures here on the earth where the thieves break through and steal and rust, corrupts it and so on. He says lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven. The way we lay up treasures in heaven is by investing now in this life of our time and our talents and treasures for the Lord. And as we invest now things for the Lord we find in heaven will have treasures in heaven. So it says here that if you will save or in other words spend your life for yourself you will have lost it when you stand before the Lord and you will have nothing to show no rewards in heaven.

Whosoever will in the sense the world would say lose your life or spend your life for my sake and for the gospels That means you’re going to let your life be used for Christ the same shall save it In other words your life will count for something when you die and stand before the Lord one day as a believer If you have done nothing here in a sense your life has been forfeited or lost It has no value in heaven.

There are no rewards, no treasures laid up. But if you serve the Lord here and live for Him every day, you’re laying up treasures in heaven and you will have saved your life or invested your life. And the rewards will come as a result. Verse 36 goes on to say, what shall it profit a man? Let me just say a word about the word profit because salvation… is not in view here. Wherever you look in the Bible without exception, you’ll never find an exception.

Salvation is always presented as being the gift of God. In Romans 623 it says the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. The gift of God is the gift of God. The gift of God, Ephesians 2 8, it says salvation is by grace and it is the gift of God, Ephesians In Romans 5, it mentions about six times that it’s the free gift. It’s a free gift purchased by Christ of the Cross, but offered to you and me free when we trust Jesus as our Savior.

When you talk about profit, you’re talking about something that is deserved, something that is earned, and is talking about rewards. And here Jesus is saying in Matthew, excuse me, Mark chapter 8 verse 36, for what shall it profit a man if he should gain the whole world and lose his own soul? It’s not talking about going to hell here or losing your salvation. It’s talking about the word soul that really should be translated in life. In other words, losing or not using or not having the full reward you could have had for spending your life for Christ’s sake.

In other words, if you were to become the richest man in the world, the most powerful man in the world, the most influential man in the world, if you had gained really in a sense the whole world really was yours and you got all that, what profit will you have in heaven? Because the only way you can have profit in heaven. The only way you can have rewards in heaven is by using your life here for Christ. But if you use your life here for self and even if you were to gain the whole world, you would lose that at death because you can’t take it with you.

I’ve never yet seen a U-Haul behind a hearse. Everybody leaves all their treasures, their earthly treasures You can’t take it with Him, but you can send treasures ahead by living for Christ. That’s what is talking about here. And so it’s talking about what would you exchange for your life? Will it be earthly riches, earthly fame, earthly treasures? Is that what you’re looking for? Well then that will be your reward. But if you’re looking to serve the Lord, you’ll have eternal treasures, eternal rewards, and God will bless you forever for your faithfulness here.

I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. This is Bible and we’re gonna go to the phone lines. We have all of our lines lighted up. We’re gonna go first to St. Petersburg and we’re gonna talk to Angel. Angel, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hello there, Danny Angel, Ben. Do you know what I just wanna say? You know, you have blessings. I mean, I really wanna laugh at the show here here and just to keep it up. My question here is, well, it’s not a Calvinism, and I completely reject it.

But they have some interesting point sometimes. Sometimes they bring up and that sometimes I’m not able to sort it out my mind. So, you know, before God created even Satan Lucifer, he knew that Lucifer would rebel, rebel, guess him, would you agree with that? Absolutely. God knows the future. He is… Obviously not bound by time But he doesn’t know the future because he made it happen Some things that God has predetermined it yes, but otherwise he has not made your choice for you Nor did he make Satan’s choice for him he foresaw it, but he didn’t Right know it in advance because he he determined it would be that way come to that you know to the best part of our knowledge of God and everything well now setting the name of the face of birth we know it’s not really repaint and just regretting, but is he really regretting because he knew before the foundation of the world that that would happen?

I mean you understand what I’m saying here he is saying that he repented, but he already planned the letter continue because he planned Jesus to come into the world before the foundation of the world. But here he was gonna ruin the world that you found favor and no advice. And uh… Well, I… well absolutely you know god was very uh… disturbed by that of course he knew it was going to happen but uh… it did grieve him very deeply that man would uh…

turn his back on him and his love you know in john three sixteen when it says for god so love the world you know everybody uh… that’s a member of the human race is going to go to hell. That’s what is already determined because they have a sin nature and they sin and the penalty percent is death. But what God did was provide a way of rescue A Savior for everyone and potentially everybody could go to heaven. And that was God’s intention, but it grieves him when men reject his love and reject his offer of salvation through Christ and go their own way.

And the Bible says that Christ is the only way to heaven. He’s the way the truth to life and no man can come into the Father but by him. But the Bible warns that what sin is all about is that man goes his own way. In Isaiah 53, 6, this is all we like sheep. God is straight, we have turned everyone to his own way. And that means our plan of salvation, our means of going to heaven rather than the one that God devised which is through Christ.

And Christ is the only way to heaven. And if you miss that, you’re not going to make it, for sure. Right. Well, okay, so, well, I’m trying to get it fixed straight up in my mind here. before the foundation of will before even created. Create Lucifer knowing at that time that he would have been grieved with man. Absolutely. And it’s at the same time that he also then made the provision. It’s before the foundations of the world that in God’s design and plan, Christ was slain.

It says in 1 Peter chapter 1 that Jesus was actually slain before the foundations of the world. it got it already devised the plan of redemption for a man who would go his own direction that all that would believe on him would be saved, that no one would be excluded. Anyone and everyone could come and simply trust Christ and be saved. Okay. Now, just one more. I’m sorry. Yesterday, I just heard something being mentioned that all that the Father gives me will come to me.

And now we’ll use that and say, you know, here’s a prime example that, you know, God I’m not seeing it that way. I’m just seeing, with the foreknowledge, all those who would partake of Christ, were those who would partake of Christ, those who would be at pre-destin to be conformed for the image of the fun. So I’m just thinking that this particular verse, speaking about the sovereignty of God. Well, it is talking about God’s sovereignty and God’s sovereignty. God before the foundation of the world chose to save all that would believe and chose not to save all those that would not believe.

Neil Moody had a way of simplifying things and he said the Hoosoover wills are the elect and the Hoosoover won’ts are the non-elect. So God has chosen to save all that would believe and if you don’t believe then you will not be in that group called the elect or the chosen. So God foreknew that there would be those who would reject him and there would be those that would receive him but he chose to save all that would believe.

those that believe he gives them the Christ and then he promises that they would never be cast out for any reason or ever be lost. Okay. On my handgump I’m a bulbous tea and I’m still listening to you on the radio. I have a Calvin friend. This is what he says. He says, does God hate everybody? And the typical response is that God loved everybody, forgot they loved the wealth and he goes to the east wall for Jacob had a wealth and he fell out and hated it.

If you can explain that, I’m just going to hang up. I’ll certainly do that. Thank you so much, Angel, for that call. You know, in Romans, when it discusses that in chapter 9 of Romans, you find there that it quotes that passage, but that’s quoted from Malachi, and that’s at the end of the Old Testament age, hundreds and hundreds of years after Esau was dead. So it wasn’t that he before the foundation of the world hated Esau, but rather because Esau did reject Christ and because he refused the plan of salvation and did not accept God’s provision, therefore he stood before God in his sin and obviously was therefore hated.

And his descendants did the same thing. This was very much a sad thing for God, and God had great displeasure with that. So Esau and his descendants all went a direction away from God, and they rejected his provision and therefore were lost. And if you die… I hope that is helped and thank you for that call. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. We’re at the end of this first half of the video. He says Christ, when he comes back, comes back in flaming fire, taking vengeance on those who do not know God and have not obeyed the Gospel, and they are not believed on Christ.

And they will be punished forever in hell! And I hope that has helped. And thank you for that call. I am Dr. Hank Lindstrom. We are at the end of this first half hour. hour and then we’re going to go to a break and come back. Let me again remind you that we’re in August and we really could help you use your help. We are short here during the summer and we could use your help to make sure that we come out of August on our feet with all of our bills paid.

Would you consider giving a gift to Bibleline? You could call and give it by credit card over the phone or you could call it as for an envelope to be sent and merely gift in. We’re really not trying to get your money. We don’t pay any salaries here, but we do want to continue to give the gospel out. And the only way that’s possible is through you, our listeners, who pray for us and give to us. And God bless and thank all of you who do give and pray for Bible and you’re the ones that are the ones that keep it going.

God bless you. We’re going to take that breakdown, come back into a second half hour so I hope you’ll keep your radio right where it’s at and we’ll be right back in just a moment to do a second half hour. A Bible and I’m Dr. Englinsen will be right back. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well I’m Dr. Englinsen and it’s great to be with you. It’s Wednesday and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church in Tampa.

Please come by and see us if you ever come into the Tampa Bay area. And if you cannot, you can visit our worship services online. You can listen to our radio programs online. You can watch our television programs online. You can visit our resource center online. Check it out at BibleLineMinistries.org. Bibleline We are so excited about what God is doing through Bible and we hear of people getting saved all the time. I had several, this is past week, tell me, I got saved by listening to Bible.

One fellow said three years ago, I got saved by listening to Bible and now all of a sudden his Christian life is beginning to grow. I had a couple come by that are beginning to work with the youth in their church. Church. And they were so excited about how they really understood the Gospel through Bibleline. And with great emotion, they just say how exciting it is to be able to share this with the teens in their church and see them come to know the truth, which they said they never apparently heard or understood that they just needed somebody to bring the message to them.

These are exciting things and certainly make me encouraged to know that we’re helping people not only to be saved but also how to communicate that with others, including their family, but also as they work in a ministry within the church where they try to reach out to their friends and neighbors and business associates, they can lead people to Christ. It’s great. Bible and islister supported and I really do hate to talk about money and if I didn’t have to I wouldn’t probably bring it up but that’s not God’s plan.

He wants us to partner together. This is an opportunity. You know if you don’t give God will raise up somebody else who will and they’re the one that’s going to get the blessing. They’re the one that’s going to get the reward and you’ll be cheated out of that. And you know When I understood that, it made all the difference in the world for me. I realized, wow, you know, if I withhold, if I don’t give, then God will use somebody else and they’re going to get the reward.

They’re going to get the blessings. And I believe you’ll be rewarded richly for supporting Bible and because of what God is doing through the Bible and programs. Would you consider calling and giving a gift to Bible and today? I believe that God will richly bless you for that and we could certainly use your help. We’re going to rejoin the station sound that have been on break and do a second half hour. I hope you keep that radio right where it is because here we go, part 2.

Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800 —————————————————————- 576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back for that break and it’s exciting to be with you. It’s Wednesday. We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida. from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church when I’m the pastor and you’re always welcome to come by and visit our resource center. We’ll put every day till about 4.30 and you’re always welcome to come by and visit during a worship service and we just are excited about getting people saved.

We had a bunch of people get saved Sunday during our worship service and we hear people every day that are getting saved through Bible and through the ministries of Bible and we’re excited about what God is doing. Hope you are too. Check out our website BibleLineMinistries.org. You can listen to our radio program live right now. It’s a stream to the internet. You can catch it later in archive. I write up a little summary of what I talked about in the beginning of the program on each program.

scroll through all of those and you can see, wow that’s the program on here or that’s the topic I’d like to hear discussed and you can find the program that would be the one that would help you. Also our Sunday sermons are sitting there on the Internet, a years work. You can scroll through the titles and maybe see a title of a message that you would like to hear. So there’s a whole year’s where the sermons that you can watch and listen to on the Internet and I hope If you will, you’re going to find that I think there will be a great benefit to you.

Plus our resource center is there and if you want to give to Bibleline, there’s a place on our online bookstore to do that as well. And by the way, we are listeners supported. We are in the summertime and summertime is traditionally slower than the rest of the year, but with our economy and different things, this has been a little slower than normal. You could use your help right now. Would you be willing to pray for Vibeline? Would you be willing to give a gift to Bible?

If I didn’t have to, I wouldn’t talk about money probably, but I know that’s not God’s plan. God wants you to be able to invest wisely in things that are eternal. I believe Bible is that kind of investment. If you don’t give, God would raise up somebody else and they’re going to get the reward. going to get the blessing and you’ll not get it. Sometimes that’s the way it works out. And when I understood that I said, wow, I want the blessing.

I want the reward. I want to give where it’s going to pay off, where souls are being saved and people are being challenged, the people are going into ministry. And I just had a couple come by yesterday, the husband did, the wife didn’t, but they talked to the wife on the phone and they both are in ministry in their church and they’re so excited because they really got it clear from Bibleline and it seems to be the program that steers them as they are motivated to win teenagers to Christ in their youth program where God has now raised them up to do that.

We hear these kinds of stories all the time and it’s wonderful to see what God is doing And if you want to help us out, this would be a great time. We’re wanting to come out on our feet with no bills, hit the end of August, and we really could use your help at this time. Would you consider calling and giving a gift by credit card over the phone today, or maybe calling and asking for an envelope to be sent to you in mail?

Your gift in, it would really help us. And I want to thank you in advance. God bless all of you who pray and give. This is really a miracle of the Lord every day. we see the Lord provide and he obviously uses you the listener to do that and what a blessing it is to partner together like that so we can get this message out to the world. All my phone lines are lighted up. We’re going to try to move through these colors as quickly as we can.

We have Dean in Tampa, Florida and Dean. Welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Yes. Good morning, Dr. Lester. Good morning. How are you this morning? My question to you is, exaltation. What is the gift of exaltation? Alright, it really means to encourage. And so if you have the ability to encourage somebody. I didn’t understand it for a long time. I guess it was because as a new believer I didn’t look up the words and see their meanings, but it really means, uh, encourage her.

And there are a number of verses where it tells us that we are to exhort other believers. And as we exhort them, we’re encouraging Doub to move forward and not to look back, but to continue to grow in the things of the Lord. And obviously every believer I think has a ministry in encouraging================ people, but also some are more gifted in that area than others. And I see the encourager as a cheerleader, just saying keep on keeping on and reminding you and me to do that.

Trying to think of a verse off hand and I mind his just going blank, but there are numerous verses where It uses the word, Excitation, but it means encouragement and I hope that that will help you a little bit and I’ll try to think of a verse for the program as overdine. Okay. Thank you, Dean. Thank you. All right. That was Dean and Exorder is an encourager. We now have Marilyn. She’s in Largo, Florida and Margo, welcome to Bible Eye.

Hi, Dr. Hank. Yes. Let’s see. is why don’t most churches recite the Apostles Creed and why doesn’t it appear in the Bible and where did it originate from? I’m going to hang up and listen to your answer. God bless you. Okay. Well, I don’t recite the Apostles Creed either. You know, it says in the Apostles Creed, which is a man-made creed somewhere after the fourth century, and different creeds have been made, but they seem to all have some kind of flaw.

It says in the Apostles created Christ ascended into hell. Well, that is certainly not true. Jesus, when curtailes when he died, he tells us where he’s going to go. In Matthew 12-40 he he’d be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. And we know that prior to Calvary, paradise was in the heart of the earth, as well as the place where the lost would be in plain in torment, they are still there, but Paradise has been emptied out.

Remember what he told the thief on the cross that believed? He said, today thou shalt be with thee in Paradise. At the same time he tells us he would be three days and few nights in the heart of the earth. Christ went down into the heart of the earth where Paradise was, and there he met the dying thief in all the Old Testament saints, and he proclaimed victory that he He had paid the sin that finally they had been waiting for him to do, and now that their sins were fully paid for, he could take him up to heaven.

On the third day, Christ opened up Paradise and removed it from the heart of the earth and is taken into heaven. Now believers are absent from the body and present with the Lord. Second Corinthians 12, 2 and 3 tell us that Paradise is now in heaven itself. was no longer in the heart of the earth, but certainly Christ didn’t go to hell. There are those who, because I think of the Apostles Creed, and thinking that Christ went to hell, make up these crazy stories that Jesus for three days and three nights was battling with the demons and with Satan, and after three days of hard fighting, finally Jesus gets a knock out blow on the devil and knocks him out and gets the victory and finally pays are sinned.

This is craziness because if you read your Bible carefully, every sin was fully paid for on the cross. When Jesus died, His final words were, it is finished. And that word is really one word in the Greek language and is to tell us that it means paid and full. Full satisfaction received for the debt. Jesus did not pay for one sin after he came off the cross. When Jesus died, immediately, sin had been paid for by his death and he proclaimed that on the cross, then he goes into the heart of the earth where the Old Testament saints were waiting because they couldn’t enter heaven yet because their sins really weren’t paid for.

They had what I call a layaway salvation and as soon as Christ died, he went down there and told him, we have victory over sin, a paid for the sin debt and And on the third day he took him up to heaven. I hope that helps. So thank you for that call and we will now go to Matthew… In the spring hill Florida and Matthew welcome to Bibleline Year on the air. Hey greetings on a one day morning Hank.

Amen. I got a question in light of what you spoke on this morning. Can I hear what Jeff to say about Romans chapter two versus six through those two. Right what is talking about there and you just mentioned the key word there. Summit lost people that seek and will make seek they will find the truth and become saved. And I’m Obviously it’s by believing the gospel, verse 16 and not only in chapter 2, but verse 16 of chapter 1, it’s the power of God to believe the gospel and you become saved.

But you see a wonderful illustration of that in Acts chapter 10 where you have the Roman soldier Cornelius and he was a good man. He prayed, he gave alms to the people and he was devout and so on and he was seeking. And what happened was because he was seeking God, of course, had him contact Peter. Peter came and led him and his family all to Christ. So that was really a beautiful story of a man. He was doing the best with what he knew and was seeking the truth.

But he wasn’t saved because of any of the things he was doing. He was saved when he heard the gospel and he got saved. Seek and you will find. Thanks. There you go. Thank you so much for that call. And by the way, I now have a few verses here on exhorting. And it says here in Acts 240, it testified and exhort. Acts 27, 22, and now I exhort you to be a good cheer. And we find in 2 Corinthians 9, 5, therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren and uh…

first of the sony’s five fourteen now we exhort you brother and he’s encouragement and uh… there’s dozens of verses i just uh… yet a few there that uh… i uh… one to share with you thank you we don’t have billy down in my area florida and uh… billy welcome the bible and you’re on the air well i believe you have a question we’re on the air yes okay thank you What is your question? I’m the Lord, just in your teaching.

Thank you. I was just listening to Christian Kaba, you did answer that. Yeah. Yes. You need to encourage. That’s right. Okay, right. But my question for you is I’ve been about the study and this question was asked. You must be baptized with water to enter the kingdom of God. And to, in my thinking about that I was saying it was a two-way question. There’s a two-way question. Well, that is not true. And if you’re thinking about John 3.5, when you use that, it doesn’t say be baptized with water.

It says you must be born of water and of the Spirit, or you cannot enter the kingdom of God. water is the flesh birth which you already have and the second birth is the new birth that occurs when you trust Christ and that’s essential if you don’t have that new birth you’ll never go to heaven but nowhere does the Bible ever say you have to be baptized with water to be saved. Okay, what about in Matthew 16, 16, that’s Mark 16, 16.

Mark 16. Yeah, he to believe it in his baptized shall be saved but he to believe it not shall I don’t believe that’s talking about water there. You probably ought to look online or call and ask for one of my articles about baptism. There are ten different baptisms taught in the New Testament and most of them are dry. And I believe that this baptism is talking about a Mark 16, 16 is the spirit baptism. You’ll notice in Mark 1-8, John the Baptist says, says, I indeed have baptized you with water.

That’s clearly water baptism. But then it says he, Christ, shall baptize with the Holy Spirit. And we don’t find water anymore in the book of Mark at all. When you get to chapter 16, Christ is already crucified. He’s risen now from the dead. And here, after his resurrection, he’s instructing his disciples to go forth and preach the gospel to every creature verse 15. And then he says he to believe it and his baptized were cleansed or washed is going to be saved.

And obviously since Christ is the one who is speaking and he is the one who cleanses or washes you of your sin by his blood after he becomes saved. I believe it’s the baptism that John talked about in Mark 1 8, the baptism of the Holy Spirit. He’s talking about not water. Alright, try it. Alright. Hope that helped. I think you really enjoy one of my articles. If you’ll call, we’ll send it to you for free. And I also have a CD that covers all ten baptisms and explains them so that in the context you’ll know which isdebian because if you don’t read carefully, a lot of people just automatically think water, whatever they see the word baptize.

And that’s obviously going to leave the confusion because there are ten different baptisms taught in the New Testament. You have to read it. read the context to make sure you know which one is talking about. Right, right. So what the buck do them is necessary though, right? Yes, but not to be safe. I just baptized a whole bunch of people, a couple of dozen on Sunday, and they were giving testimony of how they were cleansed of their sin by the blood of Christ.

The water was merely symbolic in ceremonial, and every believer really ought to be water baptized as an act of obedience as a Christian. There’s always a blessing whenever we’re obedient to the Lord, but it doesn’t save and obviously the dying thief that believed Never was water baptized, but yet he was saved Right, he obviously had no opportunity to get water baptized But but if you can if you’re a believer and you have opportunity I’ve had people get saved in the hospital near death and they didn’t have a chance to get water baptized But I was sure them that they’re still gonna go to heaven because water doesn’t save them I understand all of that and that’s why I was debating.

So that’s why I was saying that. Good for you. My articles will help you. Those are free. If you have internet access, go to my website BibleLineMinistries.org. Bottom right hand corner, click on Dr. Lindstrom’s articles. And then there’s about four or five articles I’ve written on about baptism. And it’s all right there. And you can read it and you’ll be armed to the teeth for the next time you get into that discussion. Yes, sir. Thank you. Thank you very much doctor.

Okay Billy. You have a blessed day. Me too. Bye bye. Billy, a lot of people want to try to put water into salvation and it’s not there. We’re cleansed of our sin by the blood of Christ. I love that hymn. The hymn writer got it right. He said, what can wash away my sin? And the answer is what? Nothing but the blood. Nothing but the blood. Nothing but the blood. Not water. Nothing but the blood. All right, we’re going to go now to Jonah.

and not the general of the Old Testament but Jonah in Tampa. Jonah welcome to Bible and you’re on the earth. Hi how you doing? I just had a question I was reading through Exodus in fronting Moses and and seeking to put him to death and I didn’t understand that I read it over a few times to see if there’s any reason for it and I didn’t find anything. Well the reason is because Moses’s wife Obviously was not with the program she Apparently would not allow Moses to circumcise his son and Because Moses was the link went in that area God was going to kill him and if you read what happens here It says the verse 24 it came to pass by the way in the end that the Lord met Moses and sought to kill him and And Zapora obviously knew what the problem was because it says

Moses’ wife, Zapora, took a sharp stone and cut off the foreskin of her son and cast it at Moses’ feet. And look at what her comment was. You can see her disgust. She said, surely a bloody husband now are to me. So God let him go and then she said, here a bloody husband to me because of the circumcision. She did not want to have her son circumcised, but she did save her husband’s life. And because Moses was the lead to children of Israel and as a leader, obviously he had to be the example.

He had not rather circumcised his children as he should have. And God was saying, Moses, how am I going to kill you? And Zaporik stepped up to the plate and circumcised the son and saved Moses his life. So that’s the answer. Now, awesome. That clears everything out. That makes sense. Okay, Jonah. Thanks for coming. Alright. Alright, and obviously the poor was I think wearing the pants in that family up until that point and I think Moses and the poor both learned a big lesson there.

We’re now going to go to Eddie down in Miami and Eddie welcome to Bibleline Year on the Year. Good morning, pastor. Good morning. I have a question. I was reading about the Ark of the Covenant and I noticed on the Ark of the Covenant there’s like a table with two angels on either end on both ends. Those are not angels. Those are Cherbim and Cherbim are not the same as angels. They are a special created being a limited number.

I don’t know. I think maybe. …and then there are seraphim which are also special created beings and then we have angel angels. So the cherubim did have wings and they have wings as they overshadow the top of the Ark of the Covenant. Right now Mike, thank you for clearing that up. My question was when Mary Magdalene went into the tomb and found the two angels on both ends of where Jesus was laying, is that like another sign of the Luke covenant?

Like it was back in the Old Testament? No, that has nothing to do with that. But… But obviously these angelic messengers let them know what had happened. The tomb was empty and they were bewildered. They thought somebody had stole the body. They were there really to prepare that body further for burial because the preparedness happened so hurriedly three days before. So they came to complete it. They brought spices and ointments in order to prepare the body, but it was gone.

And of course the angel said, why do you seek the living among the dead? He’s not here. He’s risen just like he told you. So they just simply were there to explain. So it has nothing to do after Jesus rose again. No, that doesn’t. Obviously the blood that he shed is the blood of the new covenant. And obviously the new covenant was brought into effect by Christ, death and shed blood at the cross. But those two angels there at the tomb had nothing to do with that.

All right, you’re sure welcome, Eddie. Thank you for your call. We now go to Carl in Tampa, Florida. Carl, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. You mentioned the other day about that when When someone gets saved at the same celebrating heaven and on the angels and all that. And I was thinking, well, you know, then how can someone… And how can someone believe that someone can lose their salvation? Because at that moment, they celebrate, but at the moment the person turns their life over when they put their trust in Christ.

And if that based on the work or any kind of works, because then the Bible would also talk about people that lost their salvation and there would be sadness. That’s a great point. I’ve never heard it brought up before, but I’m going to use that. I’m going to steal what’s going on, you Carl. I mean I would hear people say, oh there’s somebody, oh another said, oh there’s somebody, oh another said. The other thing I’m going to say is that there are some people that are saved just as in New Testament when they had, there was a word going around, they had to act and it was saved, they had to be circumcised.

Well, we know that those people were saved, but now they’re starting to put their trust on circumcision. And I think there are probably some people out there that are saved and they have put their trust in Christ. save at that moment and uh… and now for some reason they’re believing some other thing that they have to do after salvation would be to believe those people are saying that it is the most Absolutely. Yeah, you can go into bad doctrine after you become saved.

And I think people do. They’re not really reading their Bible for themselves. And they just, whatever they hear, they take it in. I always tease that when they sit before a pastor, they say, what he feeds me, I will swallow. and they just take in whatever they hear you can’t do that i felt people check me out you have to check out whatever you hear the bible says test the different speakers or or profits or teachers uh… against the word that if they don’t agree with about bible they’re wrong including that that that we have to have some stand we have to have the ruler that’s right and the only stand the rule that we have is the bible and i thought people out of the time i mean when i could be with a thing that’s a little bit of a mobile and i heard this

that preaching this but i don’t see them in my book so where they get this from it’s a lot of these a lot of these teachings are man-made a lot of teachers are somehow that they they they miss interpret something on a contract and uh… but uh… when you go on and i think that the back up by the word i got up without all the time we’re right on and i really appreciate you uh… chairing up with me that’s a great illustration when a person gets saved here that it’s announced in heaven the people in heaven If they could ever lose their salvation, what sadness that would bring when they would have had their hopes up and that their child or their mother or father was going to go meet them in heaven and now they’re not going to come.

And that’s crazy. We are safe for everyone once you trust Christ. Thank you, Carl. Yeah, that’s great. Okay. Have a blessed day. Okay. Wow. The time goes by so quickly and we don’t have time for any more callers today, but I hope everybody listening has trusted Jesus as their Savior. The only way to go to heaven is to trust Christ and Christ alone. Again, I want to say that we do need help here as we finish out August here at Bibleline.

We are short. And I hate to talk about money, but it is important because we want to continue in all of our areas. And the continuous program means we have to pay the radio stations and the other bills. We don’t pay any salaries, so we’re probably more efficient than any other ministry that I know of, but we could use your help. Would you be willing to consider calling and giving a gift to Bibleline today by credit card or also maybe get an envelope sent to you you and mail that gift in.

No gift is too small and if everybody would help a little bit it would really help us out and we’ll come out of this month without owing anybody anything. I’m Dr. Englister, I have to run, the time is out but we’ll be back again tomorrow. I hope you’ll join me and in the meantime keep looking up. Jesus is coming and I really believe you have been listening to Bibleline, a presentation of Bibleline Ministries of Tampa, Florida.
