We have a fellow that’s been coming here lately. He said he was in Afghanistan two years ago, and while he was in the military, he would go to his barracks and about 10 or 12 guys would gather around their laptop and watch our warning worship service.

He said that really carried them through their stay in Afghanistan. Isn’t that exciting? Around the world. I was in Israel, and I met a wonderful group of Christians from Nigeria, and I invited them come to the hotel for my evening Bible study and about forty of them came. And one of them stood up and said he listened to Bibleline in Nigeria. I just was blown away. I just couldn’t believe it. Here I was traveling to Israel from America. Here he was traveling to Israel from Nigeria and here we meet a Lister of the Bibleline Radio program from Nigeria.

We get letters from all over. In fact, we just got one from Kampala Uganda, a fellow that was so happy to find our website and you can pass that word along to your friends as well. That’s BibleInwinistries.org and just click on the online bookstore for our resource center, click on the camera for our television, click on the spinning globe for radio and you can catch our program live right now and of course at any time you want. We’re talking about Israel if the Lord doesn’t snatch us out this year we’ll be going February 23rd and if you want to get that brochure call in with your name and address and we’ll mail that out to you and you’ll be able to have the brochure to make your decision about the trip.

That’ll be February 23rd and if you want there’s an extension that leaves seven days earlier where we’ll go to Egypt, we’ll go to Cairo, we’ll go to the Cairo Museum and see the treasures of King Tut. There’s actually a hundred thousand artifacts. You’ll never see it in one day, but wow, it will just blow your mind. And also we will be staying at the Marriott on an island in the center of the Nile River downtown Cairo, the largest city in Africa, 25 million people.

And we’ll take a dinner cruise on the Nile River and that will be a beautiful experience. And then we’ll be visiting the pyramids and you’ll be able to enter if you’d like the great pyramid. And that is quite a thrilling experience. And we’ll have a great time and then we’ll be driving along the Exodus route. We’ll be driving along the Red Sea. We’ll go up to Elot in Israeli City, which is a place where people come from. all over the Middle East to vacation.

They scuba dive. The waters of the Red Sea are so clear and filled and teeming with life. And then they come and jet ski and He is a beautiful, beautiful place. We will then drive over into Jordan and see the rock city of Petra where the Jewish people will flee from the Antichrist during the tribulation period. It is 40 square miles of city carved right out of the rock and it is beautiful. It is called the Red Rose city of Petra.

One of the Indiana Jones films was filmed there. This city has basically just lost to the world for about 2000 years and was rediscovered 100 years ago and become now one of the modern 7 wonders of the world. Then of course when we finish we’ll go back to a lot, we’ll drive into Israel and meet those that are coming over just for the 10 day Israel portion and we’ll explore all of Israel from one end or the other. If you’d like to go as number 16 for me we’ll have a great time, love to have you make your plans.

We need to have you make your decision and put your deposit down by October 1st because the airlines won’t hold our seats any longer than that without the deposit. And then of course you have time to pay off the balance and be ready to depart with us for Israel coming this coming February 23rd. We’re excited about what we have in our resource center. I hope you’ll take a look at what we have online. But if you can come by that It would be great.

We’re open every day till about 4.30. People are coming by all the time to visit and we’d love to get the chance to meet our listeners and you’re welcome to do that too. You can also come by on a worship day. We open our resource center before and after the worship services and you can take a look and also we’d love to get a chance to meet you if you could. That would be great. Well, we’re going to talk about the Bible for a few minutes and then we’ll take our The firm member, if you’d like to call in, is 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771.

There is a lot of confusion because of lack of rightly dividing the word of truth when studying the Bible. 2 Timothy 2, 15 says, study to show thyself approved unto God as a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. By the way, that word approved there is referring to the approval that a believer can have when they stand before the judgment seat of Christ and that that judgment, that the believer who rightly divides the word of God, will not be ashamed as many believers will be ashamed.

will be guilty of not following the Bible’s teachings carefully and misleading people, and obviously God will be not happy, and you’ll suffer the loss of reward, and you’ll be ashamed, and obviously you’ll experience regret and sorrow for that. And so the Bible warns us about studying the Bible so that we can rightly divide the word of truth. There is a tremendous difference between being a disciple and being a believer. Being a disciple has absolutely nothing to do with a person’s salvation.

The classic example is Judas Iscariot. Judas was a disciple, but he was never a believer. Let me say that again. He was a disciple, one of the twelve, but he was never a believer. Judas went to hell because he never trusted Christ as Savior. So you could be a believer and not be a disciple. You could be a disciple and not be a believer. The Bible is very clear on that. And we have Judas, according to John’s Gospel chapter 6, Jesus says about Judas in John 664, there are some of you that believed not, for Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.

And he spake of Judas is carried the Son of Simon, for he it was that should betray him being one of the twelve. Jesus knew that Judas was not a believer, yet he was a disciple. So there are many that claim to be disciples and yet are not believers, and therefore one day they are going to wind up in hell because Because they have never trusted Christ as Savior, just as Judas did. There are those who become disciples. And this is the danger, because in Matthew 7 you see many, many disciples, many who submit themselves to the Lordship of Christ, who never become believers and are lost.

Read with me Matthew 7 verse 22 where Jesus says very plainly many will say to me in that day, that day being the day called the Great White Throne Judgment described in Revelation chapter 20. And many will say to me in that day Lord, Lord, notice this group acknowledge the Lordship of Christ and apparently have submitted their lives to be disciples of Christ. Notice they boast and brag in three areas of following Christ as disciples. They say, have we not preached in your name?

And have we not in your name cast out demons? And in thy name have we not done many wonderful works? Why these were dedicated people. These were people submitted to the Lord’s of Christ and they acknowledge that. They say, Lord, Lord, heaven be preached in your name. healed in your name and done many wonderful works in your name and then Jesus said he would say to them, I never knew you. He didn’t say I once knew you and I lost you.

He said I never knew you. Depart from me ye that work iniquity. Here, notice their good works were called sin. Why? Because they were doing those things to be saved. Here’s the boy. These people never mentioned the death, the burial, the resurrection of Christ, never mentioned the shed blood. These people had not trusted Christ as their Savior. They were working their way to heaven. They were thinking that by being disciples of Christ, they could enter heaven. That can’t happen, just like it didn’t happen for Judas.

Judas was a disciple. He was one of the twelve, and yet he never was a believer. Let me quote that again from John chapter 6 verse 64. It says, and Jesus is the one speaking here, there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not and who should betray him. He spake of Judas, Ascaria, the son of Simon, for he it was that should betray him being one of the twelve.

Now when you talk about discipleship, it should follow your becoming a believer. When you become a believer, you become saved, you become a child of God at that instant, and it’s irreversible. In John 647, Jesus says, very, very, I say unto you, he that believeth on me has everlasting life. It doesn’t tense. At the moment you believe you receive everlasting life and possess it forever thereafter. Then a second decision should follow where you become a disciple. And when you become a disciple, that’s where joy, testimony, effectiveness, power, reward, and other blessings are associated with being a disciple.

The hymn writer said, trust and obey, for there is no other way to be happy in Jesus. We trust Jesus Christ to be saved, but we trust and obey to be happy. Many Christians are miserable because they have never known the joy of serving the Lord. The decision of choosing to be a disciple is essential if you want to have joy and power, and blessings in your Christian life. And as a believer, we must learn how to rightly divide the word of truth and to be able to separate between being a believer and being a disciple.

When you look at the differences, they are many. To be saved, there is one condition only that must be met. That is the believer of trust on the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible is very clear that That that is the only condition, but to be a disciple The conditions are many it says in Luke you must hate your father mother wife your own life your children And of course the word hate there’s a comparative term It means your love for the words should be greater than your love for your wife and your family and your children and Everyone else you have to bear the cross of Christ You have to follow Christ.

You have to be willing to forsake all that you have. You have to deny yourself. You have to be willing to lose your life for Christ’s sake. And these are all characteristics of being a disciple. You know, when you compare the two and you’re rightly divine, when you become a believer, you come to Christ. Salvation is free. It cannot be lost. It depends upon Christ’s faithfulness, not yours. years eternal life is eternal it cannot be lost once you trust Christ We find it through the sacrifice of Christ and it’s received by simply believing or trusting.

The discipleship, though, you come instead of to Christ, come after Christ and it will cost you where salvation doesn’t cost us. It costs Christ his life at the cross. The discipleship can be lost, but salvation cannot be lost. They’re obviously different. We find that salvation depends upon Christ. faithfulness and his going to the cross to die force, but discipleship depends upon our faithfulness. We find that salvation is eternal, but discipleship is temporary. It’s only the length of this life here on this planet.

And then obviously your discipleship for Christ has ended. We find that salvation is through the sacrifice of Christ, but discipleship is through the sacrifice of yourself. Salvation is free and it is a gift, but the Christian life is one of service and working and serving Christ. We find that if you don’t careful, you will become confused. How many times have you heard of Anselus say, I want you to come forward and confess Christ publicly. I want you to follow Christ, take up His cross for sake all and so on and so on.

And I’m sure you’ve heard that. Well, obviously, if they’re trying to invite you to become saved, this is totally wrong because this is not an invitation for salvation. It’s an invitation to become a disciple. Let me read to you from Luke’s Gospel chapter 14. And notice what it says in Luke 14. Christ here is outlining two believers what you must do in order to become a disciple. And Jesus says in Luke chapter 14 in verse 27, Whose whoever doth not bear his cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.

He doesn’t say he can’t be saved. All that believe on the Lord Jesus Christ are saved. John 3 16, whosesoever, believeth or trusted in Christ, should not perish but have everlasting life. Here’s a condition now for discipleship. Then it says later in this chapter 14 of Luke, so likewise, whosoever he be of you, that for sake if not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.” So this is not saying you can’t be saved, it says you can’t be a disciple unless you are willing to forsake all that you have.

And so these are the conditions for discipleship, not for salvation. To be saved we simply come to Christ and receive the salvation that he has purchased by his death and shed blood. But to become a disciple is a second decision. For me, I got saved by simply trusting Christ as my Savior, and I received eternal life in eighteen. But it was a year later that I chose to be a disciple of Christ, where I said, Lord, from now on, I am going to live my life for you.

And it was a conscious decision to follow after Christ, to become a fisher of men, to to tell others about this wonderful message. There is a distinction, and you have to separate, or you have nothing but confusion that reigns. Remember the illustration God gave us a great one. One of the twelve disciples was Judas. He was a disciple but not a believer. And so you can be a believer and not a disciple, and you can be a disciple and not a believer.

And if you’re in that second category, one day you’ll stand before the Lord and you’ll say, Lord, Lord, I was your disciple. I preached in your name and I healed in your name and I did wonderful works in your name and Christ will say, I’m sorry, but that’s the wrong answer. I never knew you. Depart from me, ye that work in iquity. Have that crowd only said, Lord, we trusted that you gave your life at the cross and shed your blood to pay our sin debt and fall and you were buried and rose again from the dead.

And we trusted in your substitutionary death as the means of our salvation. God would have said, come on in. Come on in. All that simply come, trusting Christ alone. Is there only hope of heaven or a saved to be the disciple? It will cost you a price. I’m Dr. Englunds from where we go to the phone lines. We have callers already lined up. And if you want to call it’s 1-800-576-3771 and we have Angel in St. Petersburg. Angel, welcome to Bibleline…

You are on the air. Hey Hank, no questions about prayer and kind of like him. In the gospel, if you ask anything my name is should be given to you. Obviously we know we’ve been in James that says you know when you pray, you know believe that sometimes that’s not the case. Like sometimes God doesn’t answer, recognize your sovereignty and you will be done. That we believe that we know sometimes that he doesn’t answer. Is that correct? Well he does answer and it’s usually a no when when you’re talking about the that.

You know, it’s not always God’s will for you to be healed. And that’s the thing that a person must realize when you talk about healing. Paul was made sick by God on purpose to keep him humble in 2 Corinthians chapter 12. And Paul prayed three times to be healed. And God said, No, no, no, three times. And then we find that God told Paul, my grace is made strong. in your weakness. And so Paul said, most gladly therefore I now boast in my infirmities, in my weaknesses and so on.

Now Paul said, thank God I’m sick because when sometimes you’re sick, you think more about the Lord, you’re drawn to the Lord, you’re more dependent upon Him and you have more need of Him. And so you become closer to the Lord and spiritually you become stronger so uh… we have to actually ask ourselves what is god’s well eventually we’re all going to get sick and die uh… our bodies will wear out we only get about seventy years plus and then we’re going to be into eternity So, would you say that it’s appropriate or it’s fitting or safe when you start off when you’re going to play for somebody for healing, somebody in your congregation?

And is it appropriate to start off Lord if I just want to recognize this sovereignty? and that you’ll be done up but we’ve become here in a little bit into your word if you think that’s appropriate sure absolutely do recognize that you have to submit to whatever God wants to happen and he’s going to answer either yes if it’s within his will for that particular person to be healed or he’ll say no or there might be a delay and there’s not always an immediate answer but we find that sometimes we have to be careful that we don’t press a point when it’s not really his will.

Right. you got those people you have some other questions that you know they just kind of look at God as a genie in a bottle or a jack in the box and he just rub them and he he jumps his command but I think I’m gonna hang up and yeah I’ll have a blessing thank you angel and now we have Paul and Paul is in Sarasota Florida Paul welcome to my boy yes hey have our questions let me give you a short list the events and help me put them in the right order.

Okay, because you have a rapture that I’d like to know, you know, Judren’s seen a Christ and reward or loss of reward, and then millennium, and then Christ wipes away all your tears. Okay, that’s all I did order. And there’s a lot of more things to fill in the bikes with, but that’s that’s that’s it. You know, the next event is the rapture. There will be a seven-year tribulation that will follow during that In Heaven, the believers will be judged for reward or loss of reward.

On the earth, the Antichrist will rise to power and become this terrible dictator that will be dwelt and empowered by Satan. At the end of the seven years, the world will come to war in the Middle East over the oil, the Battle of Armageddon, and Christ will come back and defeat them instead of his kingdom on the earth. There will be a thousand years of peace on earth while he rules. At the end of those thousand years, his present earth will be destroyed by fire and then God God creates a new heavens and new earth and then we find God comes over and wipes away our tears and we are going to be in eternity forever and ever and ever living in the new Jerusalem, the heavenly city, the city of God and the lost will be forever cast into the eternal lake of fire and we will never see them again.

Okay, now I know that you often talk about loss of reward and embarrassment and grief and everything. Now of course there are many people who don’t believe that’s that. What is it that we will be experiencing that embarrassment and grief before Christ’s life appears? what period of time that is, you know, perhaps how long that is, or what is it that we will be experiencing that embarrassment and grief before Christ’s life slowly appears? Well apparently it’s from the time of the judgment of Christ which occurs at the rapture and then there will be a thousand and seven years, the seven years of fibrillation and the thousand year reign of Christ and then I got a wipe away from the Lord.

to wipe away our tears. So at least for a thousand and seven years, we will experience the loss and the regret and the sorrow and the tears that will come as a result of our lack of service. But I think also there will be the loss of reward for all eternity. But I don’t think there will be any tears over that. Simply some will have a greater capacity to reflect the glory of God and eternity than others. And it’s going to be based on what we did here.

Right, very good. Okay, I think that answers it. Beautiful, thank you Paul. We’re at the end of the first half hour, hard to believe how quickly it goes, but we’ll come back and do a second half hour. Again, let me remind you, Bibleline is listeners supported and we’re in August and we’re running a little bit short. We want to finish up this month with all of our bills paid. Could you help us? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back from that break and this is Bibleline and I’m Dr. Lindstrom and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida.

duration. This is Bible and I’m Dr. Inchlister and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church. And we’re excited about being able to be with you every day and God bless all of you who listen. We have such a wonderful audience and we appreciate each and every one of you and look forward to being with you on the radio every day. And I know a lot of you tell me that you listen every day.

That’s really quite flattering that you would do that. Some say that when they miss a day or two they miss their fix because they get their Bible out and they have their coffee and they study along with us as we open the Bible every day. And if they can’t get that every day they feel like they’ve going through some kind of withdrawal. Well we’re glad that you all feel that way and we hope that everybody listening is getting a blessing.

We know that many get saved through the program. He baptized one fellow Sunday that said he got saved three years ago by listening to Bibleline and he had been baptized before his salvation, but he knew by listening to Bibleline that didn’t count. Water baptism is a testimony of a person’s salvation after they become saved and we find that he decided that he wanted to be obedient and become water baptized and that was exciting. We enjoy getting to meet our listeners and to interact with them and find out what’s happening in their lives.

We find that many are choosing to serve the Lord, are going into ministry. One fellow told me he was just made a deacon in his church and they’re using him. He’s now teaching us Sunday school class. Another fellow said that he and his wife are now taking over the youth group and are working with the youth. We hear these stories constantly as people are, we believe, being equipped by the Bible line to takeolitan the word and apply it and share it in their church or in their family and lead people to Christ.

It’s exciting and we are excited to be a part of that and we hope that you are too. Maybe you have missionaries in another country? Would you tell them about Bibleline? We know we have missionaries in many countries that do listen to Bibleline and are on our website all the time. That includes Japan, North Korea, Africa. And obviously, maybe you have some missionaries that maybe don’t know about Bibleline. Would you email them or tell them somehow about Bibleline and how they can enjoy this program wherever they might be?

We’ve got collars all lined up ready to go here. We’re going to take your call in just a minute. If you want to call in, the phone number is 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. Hate to talk about giving, but we are in August. This is a summer time. It’s usually slower than the rest of the year, but also because perhaps of our economy or whatever, we are behind and we want to catch up be even at the end of this month which you consider giving a gift to Bible and you could call in and give it.

And let me just say this, in Philippians 4 17 there is a marvelous verse about giving. And Paul says to the people that Philippi, he says, not that I desire a gift. He says, I am not really trying to get you running, but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. realize when you give to a ministry that is doing something for God that is scriptural and sound and is impacting people’s lives, that the fruit of that ministry will accrue to your account in heaven as you give to that ministry.

Wow! Did that open up my eyes? And I thought to myself, wow, if I could have only lived during Paul’s time, I would have devoted all of my attention to supporting his ministry. say, Boy, wouldn’t you like to have the fruit that the apostle Paul had occurring to his account on your account? And you know, as we partner together, you will share equally, I believe, with all of us here that the Bible and headquarters and all those that minister.

Welcome to the Bibleline, we are going to share equally with us in the rewards. That’s the way it works in the Bible. God wants us to partner together. I think that’s why He has it such that we need you and hopefully you need Bibleline to help you with getting your questions answered and growing in the Lord and being challenged every day. Sometimes I feel like a cheerleader that we have to cheer the Christians on. Let’s go get them. Let’s tell people about the gospel.

We don’t have to apologize for the Bible. We know it’s the Word of God. And we can be bold and we can tell people, listen, if you want to enter heaven, you can know right now. If you only trust the Word as your Savior, the Bible doesn’t talk about waiting till after you die. The Bible says you can know right now. 1 John 5, 13 says, these things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God that you may know.

and obtW, not hope, not guess, not perhaps, not maybe. You can know you have eternal life. I know I’m saved. I know I have eternal life. I know I’m going to heaven. Why? Because the Bible says so. It’s written to those who believe so that they can know that they have eternal life. 1 John 513. Here we go. We’re going to go to the phone lines and we’re going to go to Harold in Tampa, Florida and Harold. Welcome to the Bible.

You are on the air. Hey, sir, it’s always a pleasure talking to you. I have two quick questions. I have a person that I know and he’s gay and he says he trusts in Christ and he wants to witness for Christ. But can you give me some scripture to help him get his life, get his help in order so he can be effective. The other one was a young lady went to a Bible study and she was told not to take her Bible everywhere she went and not to preach the gospel that it wasn’t her job to preach to him.

gospel. So give us some scriptures that will help us out and I’ll hang up. Thank you. Okay, thank you. Okay, thank you Harold in Tampa, Florida. Obviously, the gay lifestyle is an abomination according to the Bible. If a person who becomes saved is gay, they need to practice abstinence and to live a pure life and as they do they’ll become much more effective because obviously then people will find that they are credible, that people will believe what they have to say and they’ll be more likely to listen.

If you read over in 1 Thessalonians chapter 2, the chapter talks about the qualities of an effective withers for Christ and it says that in verse 4 that we are allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel and therefore we ought to speak it and share it with others. But if you read through the chapter you will find that there is a whole listing of qualities that the believer ought to have. It says here that in verse 2, even after we were shamefully, after we had suffered before reshapely, shamefully and treated as you know at Philippi, we were bolded in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God while there was a lot of contention over that.

In our exhortation, our encouragement was not of the seat nor of uncleanness nor in guile. And it says neither at any time you use we flattering words as you know, nor a cloak of covetousness. God is our witness nor been salt we glory neither of you. And it goes on here and talks about basically having your life in order that you might be an effective witnesses. We’re a lot of God to be put in trust with the gospel. Question number two about The person told not to carry their Bible and not to witness well that’s contrary to the Bible.

The Great Commission is a command to every believer. Mark 1615 says go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. And obviously it’s something that we are told to do and the Bible warns that those who try to stop us are going to be in trouble. If you read this very chapter we’re in here in 1 Thessalonians 2 where it says we’re a lot of God to be put in trust with the gospel and it tells us about how we need to have our life in order as well.

Here it talks about people there that were hindering the gospel at Thessalonica. It says here in verse 16 for giving us to speak. He says, there is an extra degree of punishment that will come upon those who try to hinder the gospel. If they’re lost, they’ll get a greater degree of punishment in hell. If they’re saved, they’ll obviously suffer the loss of reward for that because Satan really is the hinderer. And as you read through the New Testament, Paul said, Satan attempted to hinder him numerous times as he took the gospel out to the world.

And it’s really Satan. You have to see through that and realize that God encourages you and commands you to go forth with the word. Now we need to be smart, that means that we don’t just go right up in somebody’s face and try to force them. We are not to win people by force, as the Islam does by the sword. They convert people to Islam all the time, but they do it with the threat of death and cutting their heads off.

But we are to win people. And obviously we have a wonderful message that is very attractive when we present the true gospel. And we can win people to Christ. You know, you can’t push a noodle, but you can pull a noodle and we are not to push people into salvation, but we can attract them into it and explain the wonderful gospel and hopefully they’ll trust the Lord. I hope that helps a little bit, Harold, and thank you for that call.

We don’t have Ken in Miami, Florida, and Ken, thank you for calling in today. Hi. Hey, Ken. Good morning. Hey, good morning. I was hanging listening on your discipleship thing. I know that’s a big thing in Christendom with with all those following MacArthur or whether it’s MacArthur or you or whoever it may be, but as far as they’re teaching, but you know as far as rightly dividing the word hang, help me out here. Now when I When I received Christ as my only hope of heaven and I trusted in him as my Savior, it was then that I identified with his death and I died.

It was then that I received the gift of eternal life by believing that what his shed blood accomplished, it satisfied God’s righteous demand in order to bring me back to God. He gave me eternal life through faith. established that, but my concern is when you say that you then made a decision, when hear me out that the scripture, and I’m sure you know the Book of Romans, then the Lord comes from identifying with that debt, knowing and reckoning that to be true, and that it doesn’t come from petitioning the flesh and trying to deny myself.

The discipleship ends where it began and that’s where in Colossians 2, 6 and 7, all says as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord. So having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith just as you were instructed overflowing with gratitude. And so discipleship is just revealing the Christ that is already in you when you become born again and growing in that. We can’t petition the flesh to try to… We already died.

It’s a fact. It’s already happened. And so we must yield to God. Well, that’s the whole point. And obviously, it’s a separate event. You trust Christ, and that’s what God did for you. He saves you. But then our response is that we should live for him and serve him. In my case, it was a year after I got saved. In Peter’s life, according to the Bible, he didn’t really become converted until three years after he was saved. The night of the betrayal, Jesus Christ said, Peter, I’m praying for you that after you’re converted, that you will strengthen the brethren.

Obviously, at that point, he was not yet converted. Peter didn’t really become converted, which I mean, he didn’t fully yield himself to serve the Lord 100% until after the resurrection of Christ. Then Peter, the one who denied the Lord three times, Peter, the one that was a coward and fled with the other disciples the night of the taking of Jesus to crucify him the next morning. Now becomes the bold witness who stands before the very leadership of Israel and tells them, You are the Lord of glory, but God raised him from the dead.

So obviously… It’s a decision that we do need to make. It is obviously something that the Bible tells us to do. That’s a lifelong decision about how we’re going to live our lives. And Paul pleads with the believers in Romans 12. He says, I beseech you. I plead with you. I beg you. Brethren, in view of the mercy that God has had upon you, that you present your body’s a living sacrifice. Holy acceptable unto God which is only your reasonable service.

So he pleads with him to make that presentation and say, Lord, here’s my body. I’m going to use it for you now and I’m going to live for you now, whereas I had been living it for myself. And that is the difference. And I agree, everything you’ve said, we’re in agreement. We are saved by grace and we are obviously fully identified by Christ, that’s the burial and resurrection. It’s that identification that God sees us positionally, as already saved, already crucified and buried and resurrected in heaven right now as far as our position is concerned.

But in the actual state that we’re living in, we’re in a world that’s needing to hear the gospel and we need to yield to obey that. That’s what I think Paul is saying there. Thank you so much. We now have Pastor Willie in Schenectady, New York. Pastor Willie welcome to my blind you are on the air Pastor Willie are you there? Yes, I am okay. You’re on the air Dr. Hank. How are you good good? Listen and awful lot and learning awful lot from your program.

Thank you Yesterday you threw a curveball at my theology you were speaking to a woman about what you turned lay away Christians Where Christ hung on a cross and then he told to follow that was on its side said tonight you will be with me in paradise You said that Jesus Christ went to paradise for three days to get departed saints. That’s correct. Okay. Can you help me out a little bit because I want to substantiate this with passages of Scripture.

Let me give you a great idea. There’s a great one in Ephesians. Let’s just go there quickly first and I’ll let you comment. In Ephesians chapter 4, it tells us here about exactly what we’re talking about here. It says in Ephesians 4 and verse 8, wherefore he saith, when he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive. What group was that? That’s the Old Testament states that were held in the heart of the earth in paradise, and he gave gifts unto men.

Verse 9, now that he ascended, now he that ascended, what is it but did he also first descended into the lower parts of the earth. Verse 10, He did descend, it is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that He might fill all things. So here we see Christ going into the heart of the earth, descending into the lower parts of the earth, and He leads this group captive out of the earth up to heaven. And we believe that is the Old Testament saints.

They really couldn’t enjoy their salvation because sin had not yet been paid for, but once Christ died, then Christ took them out of paradise and now they’re with the Lord. And this side of the cross, when we die, we’re absent from the body, present with the Lord, we don’t ever have to go through the heart of the earth anymore to paradise. And if you read Luke 16, you have two men who die prior to the cross, and both of them go to the heart of the earth.

The Savior, the Lazarus, goes to paradise where Abraham was, and all the Old Testament and the rich man who has lost went to a place of employment torment and they could see each other across an impassable gulf but both groups were there but after the cross jesus took the paradise side out of the heart of the earth and now it’s in heaven itself that was a fusion for eight through ten years of great passage while one of that yesterday the world i was confused that paradise was in the heart of the earth that’s what you’re saying correct and you can reason that out real easily by Matthew twelve forty christity would be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth that’s pretty plain Matthew twelve forty that he told the dying thief loop twenty three forty three today now so be with me

in paradise so obviously uh… he’s going to the heart of the earth and that’s where paradise was and so uh… they’ve met in the heart of the earth and on the third day that dying thief and all the old testament saints were then taken up to have itself as we read the phasians for what they said it’s a little curveball in my theology because i was a under the belief that you know christ went to help but when i i listen the way you explain it It makes perfect sense and it’s biblical which is most important.

Yeah, that’s why I don’t mean you have to go back to you and to the word of the Lord. I’m glad to. Well good. I’m glad that it struck a chord there because I used to really got a costless creed which I don’t recite anymore and Christ descended in hell. That’s certainly not true. And the fact that Christ paid for all of us is on the cross is significant and Christ said just before he died it is finished and those three English people are not.

words are one Greek word. It means paid in full. Full satisfaction received for the debt. So he did not pay for one sin after he died. And during those three days he was proclaiming victory. Isaiah 61 verse 1 tells that he would proclaim liberty to the captives. And those are the same ones we read about Ephesians 4, that he would go into the heart of the earth and proclaim liberty to them. On the third day he opened up Paradise and took it up to heaven.

One more quick question for you and then I’ll leave you alone. Good. Some words in Scripture, correct me if I’m wrong. I think the Bible talks about saints for the three days he was gone. We’ll walk you around the streets at Jerusalem. Yeah. That’s in the Matthew 27 and it says, after his resurrection, there were saints and that was a sampling of the future resurrection. You know Christ came back on the feast of first fruit’s day, which was always a Sunday and it was a picture of the resurrection and it was a harvest day feast and what they would do if you read Leviticus 23 is that they would go out into the fields and grab handfuls of grain and bring them and present them before the priest as a sampling of the harvest that was the come of the grain that they were growing and obviously a picture of the resurrection.

So Christ when he came back it says the first Corinthians 15, 21 and 22 that Christ is the first fruits of the resurrection. He also had a sampling of the resurrection in fulfillment of the Old Testament type where there was a number of people that got the resurrection bodies showing that the future resurrection was the common and there would be a harvest of all the souls of all the same. They’d all get the resurrection bodies one day and be with the Lord.

Dr. Hank, do you know where a map to be 27, which verse? Verse 52 and 53. 52, I’m going to go back to the word. all men will work as you know that you’re hearing us up there in new york yes we are listened to you quite often and then and applied by beautiful great p st and god bless thank you thank you thank you now all right pastor willians connected the new york listening to us out of uh…

you to cut and uh… all the new york we’re not going to charlie in richmond virginia charlie welcome to by line you’re on here you have a question you’re on there Charlie you’re on the air go ahead. Okay. Do him. Have to hang good. Good. A little your ministry and I’ll tell you running you preaching the true gospel Yeah, I’m just gonna ask you a question. I was talking to someone y’all stay and um Don’t listen to the radio.

It’s okay. I’m coming. It’s the way Yeah, um, call me because um, I was talking to someone y’all stay about the same thing you were talking about this morning about Julius that he never believed in Christ and that’s the reason why he went to hell because he never believed in trusting in Christ So, because I want to ask that someone that commits suicide, it’s a true believer, and that we’ve gone through now. Sometimes people just don’t live in this life anymore and they commit suicide.

They will still go to heaven, right? Absolutely. First of all, John was… And you’re laying in somewhere, y’all say a lot of people are in there. First of all, in John 637, Jesus said, him that cometh to me, I will in no wise cast out. It doesn’t say except for suicide. It was him that cometh to me I will know why he is cast out. And then verse 39, Jesus said he would not lose one of those that had come to him.

Now one of the classic examples in the Bible is Samson. His final act, he was brought there to be mocked at the big stadium there of the Philistines and he was bound between two great pillars that were the support pillars and he asked God regained his strength so that he could push those pillars down. And he could have been a suicide. And of course it says more. He killed more in his death than he did during his life. And the Lord allowed him to do that.

He took his life. And obviously, Samson is in heaven. One of the great heroes of the Bible. That’s right. And you know, it’s so sad because so many people have bad preachers out here. And the preachers, like you said before, a lot of preachers are not reading the word and getting the true understanding of the word. And you know, and they lead a lot of people straight because, depending on what company you are today, she believes that if you could pursue it that you want to hear.

And I was showing her scripts, she’s in the word. And it’s like, it’s not getting through to her. You know, I know, if you’ve taught wrong one enough after a while, you just get to know that you’re not getting through it. Yeah. You think that when you do hear the truth that it’s it’s an error and it’s a sad thing But you just take it back to the simple verses of John 637 John 639 and just tell it is no exception here doesn’t say except for suicide It says Him that come up to me.

I will in no wise cast out. Thank you so much. Mr. Hanging you have a birthday All right. Thank you Charlie. We’re at the end of the show. It’s hard to believe the time goes by so rapidly We’ll be back again tomorrow and again we thank God for all of you. If you haven’t given a gift to Bible and would you help us out? We really need help to finish out August here on our feet and with all of our bills paid.

So call and give a gift would you? And I want to thank you in advance. God bless all of you who give and who pray for Bible and because you’re the ones who keep us on the air. You can call and do that by credit card or you could call and ask for an envelope to be sent with our address and mail that gift in. But we could sure use your help this month and that would be great. I hope everybody’s trusted the Lord.

We are running out of time so we’ll have to say goodbye. I’m Dr. Engle, and I’m saying goodbye for today. We’ll be back again tomorrow and we hope that you will plan to join us then. In the meantime, go to the internet and catch our poems as often as you like. Keep looking up. Jesus is coming. Be sure to tune in for another edition of Bibleline from Calvary Community Church of Tampa, Florida. Alright, this is Bibleline, I’m Dr. Inch Lindstrom and we had fun again today bringing the program to you. Today is a real time of conflict. Satan is wanting to take over this world. He wants to blind the minds of those which do not believe 2 Corinthians 4 and 4.

There is a battle over the Bible and over the gospel and what it is and what it isn’t. Satan would love to pervert that message. He would like to have you mix it all up and become confused. But the confusion doesn’t come from the Lord. You know the fact that it’s simple, that you can know your save and know you cannot be lost is so powerful and you don’t have to go back and say, did I do this right or did I do that right or did I do it with enough vigor or strength and it might continue on and will I lose it or whatever.

You don’t have to worry about that. Once you become saved, Christ says He will never cast you out. never lose you, you’re safe forever. Wow. And Satan wants to make salvation by works and make you think that you have to be a disciple to be saved when discipleship doesn’t save. You’re saved by Jesus in his definition of blood. And then discipleship is something that you choose separately and discipleship can be lost. You can lose your effectiveness in your testimony and your witness and your joy and your rewards, but you cannot lose your salvation.

Isn’t that wonderful? Again, I’m Dr. Englund Shroop and Bible Iron, and we hope that you’re praying for us, and if you can, give a gift that would be great for our operators right now and just tell them, hey, I want to help Bible Iron. A lady just called me the other day and she said, I don’t have much but would $5 help, and I assured her that it would. I said if everybody would give five dollars it would be great.

And she gave five dollars on her debit card over the phone. I’ll precious and how sweet. And that was all she could give. And we appreciate that. Thank you for listening today. We’ll be back again tomorrow. Keep looking up. Jesus is coming. I’m Dr. Englund from saying goodbye for today. We’ll be back tomorrow, Lord willing. . . . . . . . . .
