Bibleline Radio Show – 2006-06-09 – Telling the Gift of God

The message of the gospel is the power of God unto salvation. Paul tells us in Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ; for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” The gospel is like a two-edged sword. For those who believe the gospel, they will be saved. For those who reject the gospel, they will be lost. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” For those who believe, they will have everlasting life. For those who reject Christ, they will perish.

Well, good morning and welcome to Bibleline great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning into the broadcast as we come to you live from Tampa, Florida, from our studios at the Calvary Community Church.

We’re on the pastor. We look forward to being with you each and every day, Monday through Friday. And we hope that you’ll take advantage of not only being able to listen to us on the broadcast, but also on the internet as we stream to the internet right now. You can go there by going to our website, BibleLineMinistries.com or .org. Click on the spinning globe on the upper right hand corner. You’ll be confronted with two red buttons. The first we’ll take you to today’s show the other to the archives.

Thanks for tuning in. Yesterday was our television day and people across the country were able to see Bible Line. Of course, we’re also on the air in Mongolia with our Bible and television program and with radio. We are now in Honduras Central America. You are always welcome to come by and visit our Bible and Resource Center. We have a number of things that will really help you. You know, I have thousands and thousands of books as I am a book lover, but most of them I think are worthless.

I have selected books that I think will be really helpful to you out of all the ones that I have enjoyed over the years. And those are in our By Blind Resource Center. You can go online, look at our online bookstore, see pictures of them and get descriptions of them. You can also call our operators and I’ll send you a resource sheet and you can order off of that sheet either by mail or over the phone. And also you can drop by.

So if you’re ever in the area, please drop in and visit our Resource Centerhari and check out what we have available for you. In a way of tracks, angelistic tools, we have the greatest book on evangelism in the world. It is called handbook to personal evangelism, we have it in Spanish and in English, but it is also available in Japanese, Korean, French, even Arabic, so if you need to get a copy in another language like that we can acquire that for you.

But this book tells you how to lead a solar Christ. It tells you an imaginary conversation between you and that person you’ll talk to. What you’ll say, what they’ll say, what they’ll say, and it leads you right through to the conclusion where you lead them to Christ. It tells you how to talk to an atheist, an agnostic, an evolutionist, a cult member, and just that family member that needs to be saved. This is a great book not only to teach you how to evangelize, but to sure up your own faith in giving you answers that not only will assure you but give you courage to be able to tell others about Christ.

I also have a 10-hour series on how to lead a soul to Christ, 10 CVs, and that is an invaluable set. I remember when we taught that in the classroom that at the end of the 10 weeks everybody stood and applauded. I wasn’t expecting that, but obviously they really did enjoy that series and you’ll be like you were there those nights when we gave that series. July 11th we’re going to start a summer mini series here. If you’re living within driving distance you may want to plan to come on Tuesday nights between 7 and 9 and we’re about to announce a title.

What we’ll teach for 2 hours for 5 weeks or 10 hours of teaching and then of course in September we’ll offer 3 separate courses and we’re still open as to what we’ll teach in the fall. If you have a suggestion, we’ll take it and consider it and maybe we’ll teach a class that you might suggest. In any case, we have about 40 of these classes that we’ve done in the past. 10 hours or 12 hours of teaching available on CD and they are powerful.

Many have started Bible studies. I know of one. In an attorney’s office where there are numerous secretaries and attorneys, they have a Bible study and they use my CDs to facilitate that. Another man has a Bible study in his home and he’s had to add on to his home because of the people that want to come out and listen to the Bible study that he has using our CDs and so on. I hear this from all over the country and we’re excited about how the CDs are powerful.

We just finished the Book of Jude, the Book of Romans and the Book of Hebrews. Those are powerful. That was a wonderful series and you might want to get the 10 hours of teaching on the Book of Jude, the 10 hours of teaching on the Book of Romans, the 10 hours of teaching on the Book of Hebrews. These were powerful, powerful teachings. We also have a book that is new that is extremely enlightening called Rome and Evangelicalism to show how the ecumenical movement is really on a fast track.

How many of the popular national evangelists and national organizations are linking up with Rome and the ties are getting stronger every day. book will just blow your mind and you’ll be able to look up organizations and see the quotes as to their ties now with Roman Catholicism. Interesting book and those are available in our bookstore and many other new titles that we feel will be very helpful to you including books on the Rick Warren Purpose Driven movement. One called Who’s Driving the Purpose Driven Church.

Number two book is deceived on purpose. These are powerful presentations of the new age implications of the Rick Warren purpose-driven movement that is sweeping worldwide. Very powerful, powerful movement. In any case, I’m Dr. Anglinschroom. This is my blind mind. It’s great to be with you on this Friday. And I hope you’re good at church somewhere this Sunday. If you don’t have a church home and you’re living in driving business, come visit us. the Calvary Community Church, located at 4811 George Road, Tampa, Florida, 33634, or Zipen, were right next to the Tampa International Airport.

Very easy to find, and we hope that you’ll take advantage of the fact that we’re close to some of you, and you can come on in and see us. And of course on the third Sunday, this Sunday, the third Sunday, this month will be Father’s Day. Come and be my guest and we’ll celebrate dads and have a wonderful dinner. You can be my guest. We’re going to turn over to 1 Peter and 1 Peter chapter 3 in verse 15.

It says, Be ready, always, to give an answer to every man that asks a few a reason of the hope or expectation that is in you with weakness and fear. I took this verse to heart many years ago. I believe every believer ought to be ready. I found many times if somebody is called upon to give testimony, they’ll say, I’m not ready. If they’re called upon to witness, they’ll say, I’m not ready. If they’re called upon to teach a class or lesson, I’m not ready.

And I hear so often Christian saying, I’m not ready. I’m not ready. I’m not ready. The Bible says we should be ready. And here is a great verse for you. It’s 1 Peter 3.15 as a believer. It says be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks if you a reason. When someone is asking you a question, do you have an answer for them? And I believe that’s really what Bible is all about. Giving answers to people who have questions right from the Bible.

And you have to study to be able to do that. Second Timothy 2.15 says study to show that self-approved under God as a workman, a workman, not a bookworm, but a workman that needs not to be ashamed, not be ashamed at the judgment seat of Christ when you’re going to be evaluated for what kind of workman you have been, but it says rightly dividing the word of truth. You need to become skilled in the Bible enough to be able to divide the different doctrines, to be able to separate between salvation and Christian service or discipleship, to be able to separate between the rapture and the second coming, not the same event at all, to be able to separate between grace and works, to be able to separate between the different ages or dispensations that are in the Bible, to divide between the standing of the believer and the

actual state of the believer. In our standing we are declared righteous before God, but in our actual state we find ourselves still in a sinful body and struggling with sin every day. So as a believer we need to be able to recognize positionally we’re righteous, but yet in our actual state we need to be striving toward being as Christlike as possible in our daily life. and so on and so on and so on. These are all wonderful, wonderful things to discover and learn.

And by the way, if you get our hardback Scofield that we offer in our Resource Center, it has the notes by Dr. C.I. Scofield, the editor of the Scofield Bible, on how to interpret the Bible. And he goes through many of these that I just have mentioned and shows you the secret I’m being able to rightly divide the word of truth. But basically God is saying in 1 Peter 3, 15, be ready always, be ready always. Why was Paul the Apostle so successful?

Why was he so used of God? Let me read what he says over in Romans chapter 1 verse 15. He says, so as much as in me is, I am ready. I am ready. I am ready. How is ready? Are you ready? You’re not going to be effective if you’re not ready as a Christian. And in order to become ready, you need to prepare yourself. That’s why I believe our CD series and our DVD series of teachings will really help you and prepare you.

Oftentimes when I’m teaching, especially in the classroom, we talk about the topic of hermeneutics without using that word. Hermeneutics is a Greek word that impresses people, but it means really the science of of interpretation of the Bible. How do you interpret the Bible? How do you know you have the right interpretation? And the tips on how to do that are often just right there in my teachings as we teach you how to be able to do that. Paul was ready, and are you ready?

And he was ready to do what? It says in Romans 1.15 to preach the gospel. He was ready to tell somebody how they could have eternal life by explaining the death of the barrel of resurrection of Christ as being the message that is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that would believe it. The following verse for 16 says I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. The message of the death of the barrel of resurrection of Christ is the power it says here of God unto salvation to everyone that believe it.

That word means to trust. you trust that Jesus did indeed die and by his death and shed blood paid your sin, that in full was buried in rose again from the dead. God saves you. This is the book by the way that Martin Luther, the reformer, was studying when he got saved. He was a Roman Catholic priest. He had a doctorate of divinity degree in the Roman Catholic He was asked to teach at the University of Wittenberg in Germany.

He was asked of all things to teach the book of Romans. Well, obviously, to teach it, he had to read it. So he began to read the book of Romans. He gets to verse 16, 17, and 18, and something happens in Martin Luther’s head. He says, this is not what I’ve been taught as a Roman Catholic. This is different than what I’ve been taught as a Roman Catholic. And guess what? Martin Luther got saved. He recognized that it was the gospel that was the power of God in the salvation, and he simply believed that gospel message, the message of the shed blood, the death and burial and resurrection of Christ, as the only means of his entrance into heaven.

And as a result, Martin Luther proclaimed that message and it marked the beginning of the Reformation. The Reformation being really an attempt to reform the Roman Catholic Church and get them back to the truth, get them back to the Bible. Unfortunately Rome resisted and hasn’t made much progress, but many churches and denominations sprang forth because of the newly discovered, rediscovered truth that salvation is by faith and not by works. That is by trusting Christ and not by trusting the church or penance or mass or works or the things that man can do.

But Jesus came as a Savior to do what we could not do for ourselves. That he would pay the penalty for us in so that we could be saved. And the Bible teaches that eternal life is the free gift. Romans chapter 5 says Numerous times that salvation is the free gift of God, free gift of God, free gift of God, free gift of God. Wow, those were exciting words for me as a teenager at 18 when I heard that.

And I said, God, I’ll take you up on your free gift. And I did. I hope you have trusted Christ as your only hope of heaven. I hope you will look up Romans 1 and 16. What a great verse we just quoted at the gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth or would trust in Christ as Savior. I am Dr. Hank Lindstrom, this is Bible and we are going to go ahead and go to the phone lines.

We have lots of people waiting for us to come back to the Bible. waiting. We have all your questions where to go. We’re going to go to Joe in Pimbroke Pines which is in South Florida near Hollywood Florida. Joe, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hey Pastor Hank, how are you? Good. I just wanted to tell you first of all, I’m going to ask the minister you have there and as a fellow believer in stuff and I just want to tell you how awesome program you have and how blessed I’ve been by listening to you on the radio and stuff.

Well that’s wonderful Joe and I’m so glad that you’re able to hear I’m here in South Florida. I also want to say that I’m a truck driver and I do a route on the road and stuff and that’s why I’m able to listen to you and do my stops and sometimes I even leave my truck running so I can hear you finish off on the questions that you answer and stuff. That’s exciting. But anyway, I’m going to take too much of your time.

I do have a question. I want you to clarify something for me. I don’t know if you know who Dr. Walter Martin is. Do you remember him? I sure do. He’s in heaven now. Yes. I think he was an awesome teacher as well, but I was listening to one of his tapes and teaching all of them about Jehovah’s Witnesses. He said on one of my tapes that, and Mark chapter 16 verses 9 through 20, he was saying that that was not on scripture, that it was finished off by someone because the last part of Mark was like gone or ripped off on a manuscript and it was finished off because it says that Jews appeared to them in another form in verse 12 and that he that believe it and it’s baptized shall be saved and that’s victory because how can you believe he baptized his works?

Well that’s where I would disagree with Walgermatt and I believe those last verses belong there and should be there. This is based upon some later manuscript finds and because they are Older than other manuscripts we have doesn’t mean that they’re necessarily correct in the emissions that they have brought to us. In fact, some of the modern translations have thousands of emissions based upon these two manuscripts, the Sinaiticus and also the Vaticanus manuscripts that were found which were apparently different than the traditional manuscript families.

I don’t see a problem at all in those verses. Verse 16 is talking about, I think, the baptism that saves, which is not water, but it’s the baptism of the Holy Spirit. And he to believe it, and the one that Christ baptizes with the Holy Spirit is saved. It’s not talking about water at all. If you read Mark’s context in verse 8 of chapter 1, John the Baptist says, I indeed of baptized you with water, but he Christ shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit.

You don’t see water anymore in Mark’s Gospel till you get to chapter 16 when Christ is already resurrected from the dead and he’s the one speaking here after the resurrection and he says he the believer and is baptized. He’s obviously the one speaking. He’s the one that does the baptizing and it’s the baptism with the Holy Spirit that brings about salvation to the believer and I think he’s talking about that baptism not water. Yeah, I agree with your 100% because I heard you talk about this before but I just wanted to get it out in the air and people had that question about that because I think the new translations which I grew to under the scent for way short of the King James and I just wanted to bring that out because I think those Bible translations which unfortunately I have a few copies of because as

I was growing I didn’t know the difference and now I realize it now so I have them there and I think they have those little footnotes that there shouldn’t be in this such and such but I agree with you on that also. And that’s why the NIV drops 44 verses in their entirety, all based upon that same kind of nonsense. It’s all based on two manuscripts and a couple of guys back in the 1800s, Westcott and Hort in particular relied heavily on them and wrote their own with other men who were about 15 in this committee, wrote their own Greek text which is the critical text which is a a man-made Greek text, off of which most of these monotranslations are coming.

It’s not off of a raw manuscript, a text that has come down through us two times, but it is a man-made Greek text that called the critical text, and I totally reject that. It has lots of flaws in it. It seems to actually make an attempt to do away with the deity of Christ. One of the men on that committee was a Unitarian that don’t believe in the deity of Christ and you see his influence in 1 Timothy 3 16.

I love this verse where it says, without controversy, great is the mystery of godliness that God was manifest in the flesh. Well, the English Standard Version, the American Standard Version, the New American Standard Version, and all of these translate this by our common confession as though the deity of Christ rested upon our vote. We don’t have to vote on whether he’s got or not. The Bible clearly declares it, but then he goes on to say, he was manifest in the flesh.

That’s absolutely meaningless because go your manifest in the flesh. I Hank, I’m manifest in the flesh. manifest in the flesh, but to say God was manifest in the flesh, that’s significant, and they just take away that deity out of that verse. There are so many examples I could point to, but it’s scary what’s going on with these modern translations. Yeah, I absolutely agree with you because they don’t even sound right when you read it. You’re like, what’s missing here?

And like you said about that, what is that one that Rick Warren uses? Oh my goodness, the new message Bible. That is the worst thing I’ve ever seen in my life. I call it the comic book. I have one with just a few feet away from me here and it probably is a attracting demons to my office I think because that’s scary. That is so bad. But I have it here as a reference but it takes an absolutely reverses meanings of passages I mean to the very opposite of what they’re teaching.

It is unbelievably bad. I agree with you. I know I read a few things in it. I was hate a man. This doesn’t even sound right. And it uses New Age phrases in the Lord’s Prayer in particular. It says as is above so it is below. That has been a new age phrase for hundreds of years and they just threw it right into the Ward’s Prayer. God has got to be really upset with what’s going on here and it’s a typical phrase that the Rick Ward likes to use as well and It’s not biblical.

Unfortunately, this is the way we’re going nowadays. We’re going deeply away from the Bible quickly. We have a book here in our Resource Center called New Age Bible Versions, which exposes about 20 of these modern translations. You can see the passages for yourself. It points out where they’re distorting the major doctrines of the Bible And soon I think there’ll be a Bible out there that’ll be absolutely meaningless to anyone because the truth will be flushed out of it. Yeah, I have that New Age version.

Thank you. I bought a lot of stuff from your Resource Center and I will continue to donate to you and stuff. Because they’re a wonderful job you do. And I also want to say something to Harold and Hollywood. He’s not too far from me out this way. And I hope he comes to know you a little more. Because I think he’s getting close and God’s plugging out of the Savior. He’s one of my neighbors out here somewhere and I hate him calling all the time Well, you know I think Harold is close but and and he knows and we make it very clear that if you die without Christ you’ll go to hell and so it’s a real serious matter and and I Almost doubt he’s an atheist or he wouldn’t be del you know asking all these questions But I think he’s close maybe to trusting

Christ. I pray so anyway. We pray for his salvation He must trust Christ if he’s to make heaven. Well, Dr. Hank, thank you very much. I’ll let you go and get the other qualities and have a blessed day and God bless you. Thank you and thank you for that call. That was Joe Dunham Pembert Pines, which is near Hollywood, Florida. We have Mike in Bradenton, Florida, and Mike, welcome, Bible, and you’re on the air. Oh, thanks, Dr. Lynch, from, first of all, I want to say I appreciate your ministry and thanks for putting yourself out there.

I just have a quick question and then I’m going to hang out and let you answer it. But I’ve been memorizing a script here lately and one of the passages that I’m memorizing is in the third chapter of John, you know, the four and after John 3-16. And there’s a verse that sort of baffles me a little bit. And no man has ascended into heaven but he who descended from heaven, even the Son of man and I just don’t really understand that I was going to get your input.

What is saying there is that No one has the power of themselves to ascend into heaven except for Christ. There have been people in the Old Testament that have been caught up to heaven, but they didn’t ascend. Christ of his own power left the planet earth from the Mount of Olives after 40 days after his resurrection and he simply just ascended into heaven. When I go to heaven, I’m going to be snatched up at the rapture. I hope if I’m living when it happens, which I believe is close, but I don’t have the power myself to just step out of the in my parking lot and ascend into heaven, the Lord is going to have to catch me up to be in heaven.

And that’s what it’s saying that no man, you, me or anyone else on this planet has the power to just ascend into heaven. We are dependent upon God to take us there. And Christ, though, of his own power ascended right into heaven. So that’s what it’s talking about. Okay. Well, that’s great. That helps me out a lot because I was thinking, you know, because I knew that people had been taken into heaven before. Right. John 3 14 you’re talking about.

I remember when I had a problem with myself and I finally, the Lord gave me the answer. I believe that is the correct answer for that. Okay. Thank you. And we’re coming up on our break here. Wow. It goes so fast. It says I have to believe and we got lots of callers still waiting. All fair questions. We’ll try to catch them in a minute. I hope you have trusted Jesus if you haven’t. Do it right now. Don’t waste another second.

And don’t change that now. We’re going to be right back after this short break to do the second half of Bible lines. So stay tuned as we go to break. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. Englund Stremen, this is Bible and it’s Friday and I hope you’ve had a good week with us listening to Bible and I hope you’ll continue to listen over the weekend. On the internet you can hear us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Go to my website, there’s lots of things for you to look at there including the fact that you can listen to the radio program 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Take a look. The address is BibleLineMinistries.org or .com. BibleLineMinistries.org or .com. Click on that spinning globe in the upper right hand corner. You’ll be in front of two red buttons. The one will connect you to today’s show the other to the archives. Again, Bibleline is listed or supported.

Thank God for all of you who are partners with us and give the Bibleline. We really couldn’t do without you. I thank God every day for the listeners that make this program possible. We know this whole program is a miracle. We started out as a 15 minute program five years ago and we never knew that we would go anywhere but it turned into a half hour program and then an hour program and then it expanded beyond Tampa, expanded to other states and now we’re in many states across America and on the web we’re worldwide but also now we’ve gone outside of our country to Honduras where we’re on the air down in Central America.

We’re looking forward to great things as we continue to trust God and as you pray for us and as you give the Bible on you make it possible for us to accomplish what’s happening. No gift is too small and every believer who listens if they would give a a little bit would help us be able to do great things. And already, God is doing great things. I don’t get paid nor does our staff, and we are really maximizing your gift.

I don’t know of any ministry that probably has the best use of the money, because we are, I guess, almost exclusively. All that money goes to airtime, but also phone bills and things that equipment bills and things like that. Also our satellite fees to go up on the satellite to make delivery easy to all the stations that pull us down off of the satellite. It’s exciting and it’s complicated sometimes and it’s expensive, but the Lord is using people like you to provide.

You can give a gift by credit card over the phone if you call our 800 number. You can also Maila gift in at 4811 George Road Tampa, Florida. 3-3-6-3-4. We’re going to rejoin stations that have been on break. If you can’t get the second half on the station you’re listening to, go to the internet. You’ll hear the entire program. And as many times as you want 24-7. Don’t go away. We’re going to do Bible and Planetline Part 2 right now.

No. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-77-8. 805763771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright we’re back from that break and this is Bible and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida for our studios at the Calvary Community Church and we’re excited about being able to do that. Thank you for all of you who have prayed for and sent cards or letters or left messages to tell us that you’ve been praying for me as I had a staff infection.

and when to the hospital and recovering in almost release by all my doctors and getting my strength back. It’s exciting to see how God has certainly responded to all of your prayers and how God has gotten me through my staff infection. Pray for me as we continue to recover and pray for Bibleline as we reach out to the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We pray that that person listening today that is not sure of salvation would learn from God’s word that they could be absolutely sure of going to heaven.

And as an old favorite of mine, Oliver Green used to say, God please save that sinner that’s closest to going to hell. My friend, you don’t know when you might leave this planet and if you’re listening and you’re not sure of your salvation, you could slip into eternity and be cast into the eternal like a fire forever and ever. I don’t like to tell anybody that, but that’s the truth. And if you die without Christ, you’ll not make heaven.

And if you’re not a believer and you’re not saved, if you haven’t trusted in the shed blood of Christ is the only means of you’re going to heaven, you need to do that. And I do pray that God would really speak to you through His Word today. If you are lost and you’re close to going to hell, Don’t waste another moment. Don’t put it off another second. Just whisper that prayer between you and the living God until God got on the sinner.

I don’t understand much about the Bible, but I do believe in trust in Jesus Christ and his death and his shed blood as the only means of my salvation and the moment you trust in God saves you and He doesn’t turn anyone away Whose the Weber the Bible says that would believe on the Lord Jesus Christ would be saved and that includes you. I hope you would do that. And if you can put it on your list to pray for us every day, that would be really appreciated.

And if you could send a gift to Bible then that would help us out greatly. And God bless all of you who are doing that. We got lots of callers out there. We’re going to go ahead and start going to those callers. We’re going to go first to Carol in St. Petersburg and Carol, welcome to Bibleline your own year. Hello. And you had mentioned that we needed to always be ready to give the gospel. Yes. Are the program. And there’s another step to it also that I think is so important.

And that is to be watching for the opportunity and to learn how to open up the conversation in order to be able to give the gospel to the person that you’re dealing with. I was out with Lady one day who was selling a product and she said whenever she was three feet from somebody for three minutes she figured it was her opportunity to give them one of her business cards. And I watched her diligently do this and I thought, wait a minute, if I’m three feet from someone for three minutes, God has set up an appointment for me to tell them the gospel.

So I started watching for opportunities to share Christ and to be just on the alert. You know, somebody close to me for a period of time and am I able to open this conversation? And I’ve just watched God open at the most amazing ideas for me. You know, I was just standing by an older couple one time and I said, oh, I just was wondering, have you ever, have you made your preparation yet and your reservations for eternity? And they both looked at me like, what?

You know, and I said, do you have your plants made? And I said, we’re all getting close to it, you know, and this man said, you know, I never thought about that before. No, you don’t. We don’t have made. And I said, wow, you know, and one day it was raining. I went into the store and just standing there, went into the rain, I talked to the merchants, and I thought, how can I open this up? And I said, isn’t it amazing that the creator brought this rain to us and controls the weather pattern?

Have you ever met the creators? And I just told him to Jesus, you know, and then I wanted to, and he stood there and listened to me, you know, about this loving God who loved him so much and who sent his son to die for him and who pays the penalty for sins. And it’s been wonderful to watch the opportunities and to see how God, if you really want to bring up the subject, God just gives you amazing opportunities that, and even words to say, because the gospel is so simple.

and anybody can give the gospel, but it’s getting somebody on the white wavelength to listen to it. I’ve been traveling, I’ve met people that I really like, and I sit near them and I say, you know, I really, really like you. And I wish I could get to know you and spend time with you. And the only way I’m going to be able to do that is if you’ve come to heaven, because I’m going to get heaven. Now you’re going to be there.

And they’ll say, well, I don’t know. I just did this in London. And this man said, well, I don’t know. I said, well, you know, you have to make reservations to go. Just like you made this trip, you have to plan it. And I said, let me tell you how you can be in heaven. And we can sit down and really talk then. And it’ll be so much fun to just get to know you. And I went through the gospel with him and gave him a little new testament.

And so I’m starting reading the book of John, you know, and flying Jesus in there. And then, you know, we’ll be together with him one day. But it’s wonderful to see how God just miraculously does this thing. And a lot of times I will just say, are you Christian? And they will say yes or no, you know. And if they say yes, I say, well, could you tell me, when I hear the word Christian, what does that mean to you?

How do you just find Christian? And so often it’s not a Christian at all. Exactly. I just talked to a man at a good bookstore the day and he said, oh, yeah, oh, yeah, Christian. I said, what does that word mean to you? And I said, Christian, what did you mean? He said, well, I believe there’s a higher power and there’s a spirit world and he went through all this stuff. And I said, well, some of that is true, but that’s not what a Christian is.

Christian’s one who believes in Jesus Christ and what he did for them when I went through the gospel with him. But if you always ask them, even if you have nothing else, you’re able to say, by the way, are you Christian? And if they are, they will define what it is for you. And you know where they are not. If they say, well, no, but some day, one conversation about the rest of the McDonald’s, and I saw this lady saying, I kind of depressed, and I stood by her for a minute, and then I thought, I need to talk to her.

And so I said, are you Christian? And she said, no, but you know, I stopped some day. I liked to be. And I said, well, this is your chance today. I used to tell you how to be a Christian. And she prayed with me, and when she left, she just hugged me and hugged me, and I gave her a lonely testament. And I said, you know, go out from here and I, you’re a Christian and you have to grow.

But I say that to say, you know, the gospel is ABC. An admit your center believes you just died for your sins and call upon Him. And that is so easy to tell. But the hard part is getting the opportunity to tell them the story and getting that door open so they will listen to you. And I think that’s all a part of being prepared to give out the gospel. Amen. I agree with you, Carol. That was great. I sure.

Glad you shared that with all of our listeners, because if we’re looking for opportunities, they’re there and then we need to be creative. And as you have shared with us, you can use almost anything that’s going on as an opportunity to get that conversation going. Yeah, it is the most exciting thing in the world. If anybody is bored, just go out shopping and find yourself next to somebody for three minutes. It was in three feet and just open it up because the world wants to hear this.

They really do and nobody is talking about it. I believe you are absolutely right. I do thank you. Thank you very much. Alright, thank you Carol. That was great. And you know the P.E. book that we have here does exactly what Carol is saying. It shares with you how you can get that conversation open in addition to what to share when you do get it open. And it is, like she said, it’s wonderful. It’s fun. I have people telling me, I’ve never had so much fun in all my life because when you live your life that way it’s exciting because all of a sudden you’re meeting people and you’re sharing with them the most important message they’ll ever hear in their life.

We’re going to go to Jeff now down in Venice, Florida. And Jeff, welcome to my one. Hey Dr. Hank, how are you doing? I wonder if you can clarify something for me. Impulsive Pitbull, C. Austin spoke about the predestination of the elect and set aside since birth. How does that correspond with Christ saying it’s my father’s will that none should perish? Well, obviously, if you read about all those passages in the context, that God predestinates all that would believe to be saved and all that are not believers are predestined to go to hell.

So basically, your choice is your choice to accept or reject Christ. And as I like to say, DL Moody simplified it so much. He said, the Whosoever wills are the elect and the Whosoever won’t serve the non-elect. So that’s where it really breaks apart. God knows the future, but he doesn’t know it because he’s made your choice for you. But it is your choice who’s whoever is a bona fide offer in the bible that anyone that would believe or trust in christ would not perish they’d have eternal if that’s been predetermined but if you don’t believe you will perish and you’ll not have eternal if that’s been predetermined so uh…

every believer is predetermined to go to heaven so calls predestination of the pocket actually got for knowledge of well uh… not necessarily i mean he he he knows who will be saved based upon his foreknowledge, but every believer has been predestimated to be conformed to the image of Christ’s, and that will ultimately take place in heaven when you have a body like Christ and you’ll be sin-free, and you’ll be able to do many things that Christ can do, and so on.

But you are, you know, he doesn’t predesten your choice. That’s right, right. Let me give you a great verse. I love this one in 1 Thessalonians 2 Thessalonians 2 in verse 13 it says, but we are bound to give thanks always to God for you brethren beloved of the Lord because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation. I’m going to stop there because a lot of people stop there but then I’m going to read on and here’s the answer he’s chosen you from the beginning to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth.

So he chose to save you based upon two things happening, your part believing on Christ or trusting him and then the Holy Spirit taking and cleansing you of your sin and placing you into the body of Christ. So in real time we are invited and then we respond and when we believe the truth we become saved. In verse 14 it goes on to say here in 2 Thessalonians where unto he called you by our gospel. So In other words, he invites you to be saved.

And when you respond and believe the truth, he saves you. And he chose to save those that would believe that truth before the foundations of the earth from the very beginning. Now that invitation to be saved, is that what Christ was talking about when he said none can come to the Father unless they are drawn to him? Well yes, but also, and there he draws everybody. But if you read chapter 12 of John, he says in verse 32 that if I be lifted up, he is speaking about going on the cross, which he was, I will draw all men unto me.

So basically he draws everybody, but you can say no. No, I refuse to trust Christ. And those who die without Christ are going to be lost forever. But if they choose to trust Christ, then they are already then predestined to go to heaven if they once they believe you are in. Can I ask you one more quick question? Yeah, sure. The Apostle Paul and the Apostle John, were they the only two that were ever taken up to heaven? Of the Apostles?

Apostles, yes. I should say in the New Testament those were the only two, correct? I’m trying to think of somebody else, but I think that’s going to be about it. Was there anybody else in the Old Testament? Well, you know, Elijah, Enoch and so on were caught up, yes. in the Old Testament, they were caught up, you know, Enoch was walking with the Lord of Genesis chapter 5 one day and all of a sudden the Lord took him. He was 11.

They were never to return though, correct? Right, they never died. And they looked for any spotty and it was gone, so he was bodily caught up and Elijah the same way. Right. Inafari Chirrit was taken away. So those are examples, yeah, and I think they’re pictures of the rapture. That’s what’s going to happen to those that are living when Christ returns. There will be a group exempted from death and will be caught straight up to meet the Lord in the air.

I hope it’s tomorrow. That’ll be great. Thank you. Alright. Thank you. That was Jeff in Venice, Florida. We have now Vinny in Hudson, Florida. And Vinny, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the year. Dr. Hank, how are you? You’re 100% recovery. Well, thank you. I’m almost there. I’ll tell you I’m feeling better every day. I never felt that. I just obviously was weakened by it. the and I had obviously a time when I couldn’t walk on my foot that I got the infection in, but I’m doing better every day and I thank God.

And I’ve had a great experience through it all. I’ve let a lot of people to Christ, nurses, and we got to talk to a lot of doctors about the Lord and my surgeon and we’ve had a ball just witnessing. It’s been fun. Great, great. I’ve been out of the loop for a few repeat shows from a couple months ago when I was gone. What happened? Oh Lord, I hope he’s all right. and then I found out what happened and I’ve been praying for you.

Thank you. Yeah, we had fun. We even did the part of the two programs right from my hospital bed. Right. And that’s when I found out when you were half hour alive and then you’d go the other half through tape and I said, oh, okay. That’s what’s going on. We had a lot of fun. We had hospital administrators and a lot of them nervous and they’re just going to the staff crowd it into the room and they’re all excited and say, he’s doing a live radio show right from his bed.

we had to be in front of them now i got a couple comments i was listening to a pastor on the radio the other week and he said something that really caught my attention uh… he said that we this country is a godless country and then he went to quote on some sixty million people claim to be christians that leaves two hundred and forty million that don’t sell theoretically this is a godless country and and i have three with them it won’t be correct no i didn’t start it off with people that came here uh…

to escape the tyranny of the roman kavic church in europe and they came here because of their faith in christ and the first original thirteen colonies all if you read their uh… their constitutions declared their faith in christ and the reason why they established themselves was so that they could preach in freedom the gospel of jesus christ and uh… how wonderful that all thirteen colonies if you read it is just almost brings tears your eyes to say wow what has happened when these original colonies all came here to preach christ they were all christian right and i believe that was one of the requirements to be a leader in the colony is you have to be a christian Well, you’re right and boy what has happened there wouldn’t be great if we could only elect Christians to governments In those days they definitely were looking for men of of integrity and men of

Christian faith To guide them and and look at how God blessed our country in the Azerda days because of that That’s right and and this is for Harold I would like him to read Romans 1 because in that God tells us that no man will have any excuse for not believing i think how it needs to change his is title because he claims to be a jewish atheist yes and it doesn’t and a few not believe in god at all with the right to a a a agnostic well he sees that uh…

being uh… adieu uh… not as a uh… religious faith i think that is a uh… race alright but in a few of someone who doesn’t believe in god and i mean in roman to tell this look around you everything we see here it’s it’s his witness to us that he’s real he is alive and he created this all of it it didn’t just happen by chance uh… evolution or it’s got divine will that everything happened in how that they can eat the change from an atheist to an agnostic because i did believe i heard him say that he he did that was believe in god so maybe we’re getting them closer well praying for them i i think you hear all this open the truth and hopefully shortly he’ll come to know jesus as is mccyan that’s right well you have a uh…

held i do contribute to Dr. Lindstrom all right thank you for that call it was venny in hudson florida we now have a Jack in Lake Worth, Florida Jack we want to welcome you to Bible ed and you’re on the air Thank you. Glad you took my call, Dr. Lindstrom. I’m a little bit troubled. Having been still a raised Catholic. Yes. And what I find when I’m listening to you talk, I have a kind of a fear of anti-Semitism, especially with the Jews.

I mean, this idea of, and my church does not push this, that you’re going to go to the church. hell if you don’t believe in Christ. Well I know the Catholic Church believes that you can go to hell without Christ. I mean to heaven without Christ but the Bible teaches that there’s only one way to heaven and that is through Christ. But we’re not anti-Semitism. I love the Jew. In fact I’ve led tours to Israel 13 times and I have Jewish people in my congregation that have believed on Christ as their Messiah.

And my heart really is with Israel every step of the way. When I read the news each day, I pray for the peace of Jerusalem and pray for the souls of those in Israel that need to be saved. And I’ve led many people to Christ in Israel. All my trips over there. But I love the Jew and there’s no antisemitism here. But the Bible teaches and Christ is the one who said it. He said, I am the way. I am the truth.

I am the life and no man. I don’t care who they are. I can come into the Father but by me. was Jewish and he claims that you have to trust in himself as a Jew that was God who took on flesh that paid for our sins in order to be same. But why doesn’t the Catholic Church teach this then? They don’t teach this. I know it. It’s because in the 5th century they derailed. Augustine said that God was through with the Jews and because they killed Christ and the Catholic Church is down to the years called the Jewish people Christ killers and have kind of written them off.

But God hasn’t written them off and they still need to be saved and God loves them in price died for them. Yeah, but the Catholic Church has come closer to the late Paul Paul II when to the whaling while they visited the synagogues, they visited the… I think they’re trained to subtly apologize for what they did in World War II and their stance against Israel, but they still haven’t… Did you know your Catholic Church is still not recognized as the state of Israel?

They’ve already seen me. How are they doing now? I don’t think there’s been an official resignation there. Israel is not having an- They’re not effective. Like I said, Pope John, Paul, a second one over. We’ve been to Israel. Yeah. That’s not- We’re not talking about an official recognition of the state of Israel. They have not done so. Israel does not have an ambassador to the Vatican as other countries do or can. They have no recognition officially that Israel is a state of bona fide country having a right to exist in the Roman Catholic Church rejects that.

But they seem to be close to the new act to the Jews. I mean, this rapture, this whole rapture, but the Catholic Church doesn’t go along with that. No, because they don’t believe in that. The Catholic Church believes in no millennium at all. are all-millennial and they believe that the church will establish peace on earth goodwill toward men and this dominionism uh… teaching of the wrong catholic church says that they’re gonna control the world and they’re gonna i’d just like to crusade is where the first ones you tried that they came over there to conquer the middle east and and establish uh…

drossam as the uh… head nation that they were going to be the catholic church will rule the world from drossam and of course they they failed the muslims uh… send them back with their tails between their legs but uh… the that’s all part of false theology that caused the crusades in the beginning but but that’s not what they got there they were killing jusola on the way killing jus and muslims that’s right the church has a history of of a and i don’t deny this one bit i’m very critical and the history of any time it is mont lupa was uh…

in his late years I will spoke about burning synagogues. He was very anti-Semitic and his lady is. Well, it’s unfortunate that anybody would be anti-Semitic because God so loved the world. He loved everybody and anti-Semitism is really of the devil. We should love everybody. And I certainly love the Jews. So there’s no anti-Semitism here. But the Bible does teach that those that die without Christ, I don’t care whether Jewish, Catholic, Baptist or Lutheran or Methodist or whatever, they’ll go to hell.

And if that anti-Semitism, it’s God said the whole world is lost. But Jesus came to save us, and if we reject Christ, we go to hell. I hope you’ve trusted Christ as your Savior because… Oh yeah, but that’s not the problem I have. As a matter of fact, you read… You haven’t read Hal Lindsey’s book, I take it. The Holocaust? I haven’t read that one. I urge you to read it because he talks about the God has a plan for the Jews.

He doesn’t talk about going to hell either. I’d really love to have you read the book and then comment it because I’d really love to see your opinion on this. Jack, I’ll do it. Thank you very much. All right. Thank you, Jack. That was Jack. And the Jewish person and the Gentile both, you know, all the first Christians were Jews, all the disciples were Jews. Christ was a Jew. And God of course provided salvation through Christ who came out of the tribe of Judah.

And in the book of Revelation it’s called the Lion of the tribe of Judah. Without Christ you cannot make heaven. I don’t care who you are. I hope you’ve trusted Christ. I hope you enjoyed the program. I hope you’ll join us again on Monday. We’ll be back live on Monday.
