Bibleline Radio Show – 2006-06-14 – The Earth – How Old?

I spoke to a skeptic who said, “I can’t believe the Bible because it teaches that the earth was created six thousand years ago.” I replied, “Where does the Bible say that?” He said, “In Genesis”. I remarked, “Show me.” Of course he couldn’t show me. He was poly-parroting what he thought that the Bible taught. So many times people reject the Bible because of what they think it says. Often times they have never read the Bible.

Feel free to call in. I spoke to a skeptic a couple of years ago and he said, I can’t believe that the Bible teaches that the earth was created 6,000 years ago.

I replied, where does the Bible say that? He says, in Genesis. In I remarked, show me. Of course, he couldn’t show me. He was polyperiting what he thought the Bible taught. So many times people reject the Bible because of what they think the Bible says. Sometimes they have never read the Bible. Unfortunately many Christians don’t know what the Bible teaches, and therefore they are not ready with an answer or they are ready to accept something that really isn’t biblical because they don’t check it out in their Bible.

God invites the thinking reasoning person to examine what his word does say. In Isaiah it says in chapter 1, come now. Let us reason together, saith the Lord, though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow, though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. God wants us to use our brains, and He says, let’s go ahead and reason together. You want to sit down with God and reason things out? Well He’s given us a lot to chew on in His Word.

to the creation of the earth, God does not set a date. God says… In Genesis 1-1, in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1-1. This could have been billions of years ago. Sometimes in the dateless past, in fact nothing in the biblical record contradicts that. On the contrary, the Bible record gives us an amazing count of how the earth came into being and its future destiny. First of all, the earth was created in the dateless countless paths, then later judged and became void without form.

The seven days in Genesis chapter 1 were really a recreation of the earth and God making it habitable again. In type, this is a beautiful picture of the new birth, a new creation where once there was chaos and ruin. Think about that as God oftentimes has pictures for us to see his beautiful plan of redemption In other words, the earth was created originally perfect and it was inhabited. I believe all the angels lived on the original earth but then became judged and became as we find it in Genesis 1-2 without form and without void.

We find here that the seven days in Genesis 1 were really a re-creative week where the earth was made inhabitable again. In Type, this is a beautiful picture of the new birth, a new creation when all was once chaos in ruin. The creation of the original Earth was in the beginning. It was doubtless a beautiful Earth, covered with vegetation, inhabited with foul fish, animal life. And of course, we believe angelic life and that Lucifer ruled over all of God’s angels on this Earth.

I just saw an article in the paper just last week where they have discovered at the North Pole by drilling down that once a long time ago the North Pole was a subtropical climate and the average temperature was 74 degrees and they’re discovering as they take up core samples that the Earth at that time was luscious at the North Pole. I believe this is a part of that original creation that was destroyed when you see Genesis 1-2 describe the earth becoming formless and void.

While we find that the earth continued for a long time, we don’t know how long until this catastrophe befell the earth where it became formless and void. Suburged in water and darkness according to Genesis 1-2, it is clear from the scripture that the earth was not void when originally created as seen by Isaiah 45 18. Let me quote this verse, For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens, got himself that formed the earth and made it. He hath established it.

He created it not in vain. By the way translated void in Genesis 1-2 in the Hebrew. He formed it to be inhabited. I am the LORD and there is none else. So we are told clearly in Isaiah 45-18 that God when he originally created the earth did not create it void as we find it in Genesis 1-2. Interesting isn’t it? Comments on Genesis 1-2 by Dr. C. I. Scofield in the Scofield Reference Bible says that Jeremiah 4, Isaiah 24, and Isaiah 45 clearly indicated that the earth had undergone a cataclysmic change as a result of divine judgment.

The face of the earth marks everywhere of such a catastrophe. There are not wanting intimations which connect it with the previous testing in Fall of Angels. When you look at Ezekiel 28 and Isaiah 14, which goes beyond the kings of Tyre and Babylon, it’s clear that the earth was judged at one time and all life was destroyed. Contrary to popular thought, Satan lived on the earth not in heaven. Lucifer, Satan’s name before the fall, was ruling over the original earth.

All of God’s angels were living on the original earth. In Isaiah 14 we have the five eye-wills of Satan. This passage reveals that when Satan fell, he was the ruler here on the earth. Satan said, or Lucifer said, I will ascend into heaven. He’s clearly not in heaven. Satan said, I will exalt my throne above the stars. He was a ruler and was below the stars of the earth. Satan said in Isaiah 14 verse 13, I will sit also upon the Mount of the congregation in the sides of the north.

The Bible clearly hints here that heaven is in the north and Satan wanted to go there and overthrow God. Satan also said, number four, I will ascend above the heights of the clouds. Apparently Satan was below the clouds on the earth here wanting to overthrow God. And lastly he says I’m going to be like the most high. Well God judged the earth in Genesis 1-2 when Lucifer took one-third of God’s angels in a rebellion against God. The earth was flooded and submerged with water and was in darkness.

Scientists tell us if our sun’s light were cut off from the earth for as little as 72 hours that our earth would be quick frozen. Perhaps this would explain the ice ages. Perhaps this might explain the mammoths found quick frozen in the Siberian earth with undigested by vegetation, still in their stomachs. Petroleum is fossilized remains of animal life. Coal is the fossilized remains of plant life. Was this from the original earth? Perhaps so. Perhaps many fossils are from the animal life from the original earth created prior to Adam and Eve.

Genesis is the book of beginnings. It records not only the beginnings of the heavens and the earth, a plant, animal and human life, but of all the institutions and relationships we have in the Bible. We have the New Birth pictured. Just as the earth was created, it was judged. Then a new creation was necessary. In seven days, God remade the earth and place man in dominion over the earth. Adam was created, he sinned, and he was judged, and a new birth became necessary.

In order to be saved, Jesus said you must be born again. You become born again when you trust that Jesus Christ died and paid for your sins in full at the cross of Calvary. It is a wonderful thing to know and be assured of your salvation. A lot of people have trouble with their assurance. You know the devil wants to rob you of assurance. He doesn’t want you to know what the Bible says you can know. He doesn’t want you to know that you are secure, save forever, can never be lost once you trust Christ as Savior.

When people hear that, they usually object and say, well that would mean I could live as I please. But they haven’t read their Bible very carefully because the Bible says the Christian is not able to live as they please because God will discipline every child he receives into his family by the new birth. When you delinquent, God will discipline you. In your obedient, he will bless you. And so the Lord deals with the believer as to how he behaves once he becomes saved.

You cannot live as you please once you become a believer. But you will still go to heaven. Your salvation is never in jeopardy. The Bible says in John 637 that Christ would in no wise cast out anyone that comes to him. I love verse 39 where you can’t be lost because we’re not keeping our salvation. Christ is keeping a save that says in John 639, this is the Father’s will. Christ tells us that of all of which You’ve given me, I should lose none, not one, but raise them all up again at the last day.

I’m Dr. Englundstrom. This is Bibleline. It’s wonderful to be able to be with you. We look forward to hearing from you. If you’d like to call us, the number is 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. If you’d like to download our radio programs, you can do that for free. And now the latest thing we’ve just added is that we have a button on there called Toddcast. allows you the flexibility of automatically receiving audio radio programs featuring by Blind Ministries Daily Collins Show and it’ll show on your iPod M3 player or your computer via the internet without having to browse the web every day.

Subscribing is easy, it’s free when you register right there, it’s all there right in front of you when you go to that radio page. Just go to our website, Bible Administries.org or .com. Click on that spinning globe in the upper right-hand page. You’ll have two red buttons confronting you. Either will take you to where you need to go. The one button will take you to today’s show the other to the archives, but you’ll see the the podcasting button. It’s a rectangular button on the right side and then it will show you how you can register.

And it’s free, it’s free, and you can be getting our programs and hearing them again and again. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom and we’re going to go to the phone lines. We have Felicia in Brandon, Florida and Felicia, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Hi, thanks a lot for taking my call. You’re welcome. You have a great show and got a lot of good information. One question that I have that I haven’t really been able to get peace on or to find any type of answer on in the Bible is, What do you think ghosts are?

I know there’s a lot of people that say they feel spirits or things like that. Is it just is it people that have died that haven’t been saved? Well, the word ghost is an old word. We don’t use it as much anymore in our regular conversation. But it’s the same word that is translated spirit in the Bible and it has to do with those that have died. But there are no ghosts around because when a person dies, if they’re a believer, you might want to write this down.

Second Corinthians 5, 8, you’re absent from the body, present with the Lord. But if you’re an unbeliever, you go to Hades and neither one can come back. So the souls of departed dead are not around. Now angels are about us and we know that a third of the angels are Satan’s and Satan’s angels are about and I think that they masquerade many times and if you go to a seance or try to contact the dead they might even make an appearance and impersonate your dead relative and you might think you’ve contacted a ghost or a spirit of someone who’s died but that isn’t really true.

The Bible really opens up our understanding is what happens on the unseen world. I have a series where I taught 10 or 12 hours on the spirit world which is really powerful. It goes into all those kind of things. But I would recommend you read Luke 16 verses 19 to the end of the chapter which pulls back the curtain on the unseen world where you see two men that die, one saved and one is lost and you notice that they are no longer on the earth.

One is Lazarus the beggar and he goes to be with believers and the rich man who is an unbeliever goes to Hades in the heart of the earth where he is in flame and torment. He is still there to this very day. So I don’t worry about ghosts at night because they just don’t exist. But Satan is real and his angels are real so we need to recognize that. But if you are living for Christ the Bible says that you resist a devil by being steadfast in the faith.

doing what’s right. God is going to keep you safe from his Satan’s angels. Okay, well that is definitely, definitely helpful because I was always puzzled on that, so it’s actually angels that are satanic. Absolutely. God’s angels are about us too, and they’re guardians of the believer. He was one thirteen says in Satan, God’s angels guard and watch over us. Satan’s angels are out there, no doubt about it. If they were allowed to, they would do us all harm. Sometimes if we sin or go away from the Lord, God might pull down the hedge a little bit and allow Satan’s angels to get at us.

We know in 1 Corinthians 5 there was a man there who openly was sinning and the Bible says to deliver such a one unto Satan for the destruction of his body, of his flesh, that the Spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. sometimes God can even allow Satan to take a person’s life, but they’ll still be saved, but that’s not the way you want to go home to heaven. Right, right. So they would still go to heaven and it’s just that it would be a little bit hard for them on the earth.

They’ll leave early. And early departure. But those are fascinating topics. And we also have a book here called The Spirit World by Clarence Larkin has lots of charts. And it’s a wonderful book called The Spirit World by Clarence Larkin. and also have, I think my CD series is 10 hours of teaching on the spirit world. It’s also a people love that series. I’m sorry, is that on your website? It’s on the website also. You can get both of those things, the book, the spirit world and the CD series is on the website.

And the spirit world is by what was your name again? Clarence Larkin. That’s a wonderful book and lots of charts that show from the very beginning when the angels were created until we’re out into eternity future. basically what the bible says about the role of angels in the fallen angels in what happens and it’s a wonderful chapters that explain it’s really great well wonderful thank you so much for the information really to help me well please you think you’re calling you’re welcome all right it was please in brandon florida and you’re welcome to call in by the way and that is that one eight hundred five seven six three seven seven one one eight hundred 5763771.

Satan’s world is real and you don’t want to get yourself involved in that world. There are many things that are forbidden in the Bible. Let me turn back to the Old Testament for just a moment and share with you the Bible warns about things that we are not to practice lest we get ourselves in big trouble in these areas where Satan is so powerful. Let me see where that is real quick here and I’m turning now to the book of Deuteronomy.

Deuteronomy is a wonderful book and has some great information for us about spiritual things. It says in verse 9 of chapter 18, when God was instructing Israel, when thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. Let me just say, in America today, these practices are becoming more increasingly practiced. I think it’s because we are now departing from our Christian base and are really headed in the Satan’s world quickly as a country even.

Verse 10, there shall not be found any one among you that make it his son or daughter to pass through the fire. That was offering up children in sacrifice and to Satan or that use a divination or an observer of times or an enchanter or a witch or a charmer or a consultant with familiar spirits at the medium or a wizard that’s a male witch or a necromancer That’s somebody who contacts the dead. Verse 12, this is Deuteronomy 1812.

For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord. So God strictly forbids all these occult practices which will take you into Satan’s spiritual realm which you don’t want to deal with. We’re going to go to Paul in Winter Haven, Florida. And Paul, we welcome you to the Bible and program. You’re on the air. well thank you I’ve got a question that when you’re saved, you’re saved and you can’t lose your salvation. Yes, that’s great. is one part of the bible i don’t have a right with me it’s not gospel which he does it you know i the distant of that your name and then exactly what what well the whole point there is that christ said i never knew you he said i he didn’t say i once knew you know i lost you he said i never knew these were people

they were really counting on their works to get them to have it if you read verse it’s Matthew 7 22 and 23 that you’re referring to. Okay. And in Matthew 7 22 Jesus says and apparently there’ll be a large number of people that claim that they are Christians it’ll be in this category. Many will come to me at that day Jesus said and they’ll say Lord Lord and then they go on to brag in three areas. Didn’t we preach in your name and then didn’t we cast out demons in your name and then Thirdly it says and didn’t we do many wonderful works in your name now what you have to recognize here is that they didn’t mention anything about the death shed blood and barrel and resurrection of Christ they were obviously doing what the Bible says is forbidden because of God’s plan of salvation they were boasting and bragging in the area of the things that

they had done and they said look at what we’ve done why we preached we healed we went out and did wonderful works in your name and Christ said I’m sorry that’s that’s not the way you get into heaven. I never knew you, depart from me that you work in equity. Now I was raised in a church where I was taught that I had to work my way to heaven. And I was 18 before I ever heard the gospel that I couldn’t work my way to heaven, that Jesus paid it all.

And when I would simply trust Jesus as my Savior, He would save me. And I remember seeing in Ephesians 2, 9, salvation being a gift and not of works. And I realized, and I remember when through my mind I said somebody’s wrong, somebody’s wrong. Either my church is right and the Bible is wrong, or the Bible is right and my church is wrong and I chose the Bible over my church. My church taught exactly what Matthew 722 is talking about.

You had to do those good works in heaven and then I saw the Bible taught that I could not be saved by my works but I was saved by trusting Christ’s death and shed blood. I guess Jesus could read their hearts. absolutely. That wasn’t the right place. They did not know the Lord is their Savior. They had never trusted His death. To be saved, you have to TRUST the Jesus dying and shed His blood to pay your sin debt was buried and rose again from dead.

If you bypass the cross and you focus on your life and what you’re doing to get you to heaven, you’ll not make heaven. Well, a good question. Oh, thank you. I liked what you said earlier though. How about the Martin’s circle? You lost it. That happens. Yeah, well I sure thank you for calling and I hope you continue to listen and winter haven’t until your friends about the program. This is Bibleline. We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida, from our studios at the Calvary Community Church. And we look forward to being with you each and every day. And we hope that you look forward to being with us. We’re on in Mobile, Alabama, in Kansas City, Missouri. We’re on in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Richmond, Virginia, Chester, Virginia, Utah, York, Albany, New York. We’re on in Lansing, Michigan, Flint, and Saigonaw, Michigan, and Cincinnati, Ohio, Michigan, and Cincinnati, Ohio, Lexican, Kentucky, and so on and so on. I’m Dura Central America. We invite you to tune in and pass the word along to your friends about the Bible and program. This Sunday, by the way, is Father’s Day. I hope you’re going to honor your dad or your granddad. This is a wonderful opportunity to fulfill that Ten Commandment be reminded of the responsibility to do that all year long.

The Bible says honor thy father, honor thy father. Special to men with a promise. The Bible tells us the only of the 10 kenems that your life will be long and things will go well if you would honor your dad. Wow. It’s exciting. Maybe your dad has passed on in your believer. Then the Bible of course says of course you have your heavenly father and a special time you can honor him as well. In any case, we’re going to have a dinner if you’re in driving distance of Calvary community.

Come on by for our 10-30 morning worship service and then stay for the dinner we’ll have and enjoy the food and fellowship as we honor all the dads and granddads at our worship service this Sunday on Father’s Day. So pray for that. Next week our teens will leave this Sunday to go off to camp and we’re hoping for lots of great things to happen in the lives of these teenagers. As we pump them as full as we can with God’s Word and trust that that Word will take root in their lives and we’ll see teens come on fire for God at our summer camp this coming week.

So pray for Bible line and pray for this Sunday as we try to reach maybe unsaved heads that might be brought to the service and may become the know Jesus as their Savior as a result of that. We want to thank all of you who give the Bibleline and those that give are the ones who keep this program on the air. We ought to all applaud them and thank God for the Bibleline partners whose partnership is real. I mean, without our partners we’d be off the air.

That is a fact. We don’t have a piggy bank. We don’t have a reserve account. We don’t have subscribers or pledges. If you don’t have anybody underwriting this program, I feel like we’re naked before the Almighty God. And we appeal to Him and He raises up people just like you who keep this program going, God bless you. You’re going to be glad one day in heaven as God will reward you, I think, because you are a wise investor. This ministry is really trying to be as true to the Word of God as we possibly can.

We don’t give answers to please the hearer. We speak to please God. You know, 1 Timothy 2, 4, tells us that God allows us to be put in trust with the gospel. And it goes on to say, even so we speak, not as pleasing men. A lot of ministries please men and say what people want to hear. But we are told in this wonderful verse in 1 Timothy 2, 4 that we’re to speak to please God, not men. Sometimes the answers we give don’t please the people who are listening Because their views are not in line with God’s word and they’re offended by what God has to say so pray for us we really have taken a stand that we’re going to teach what God’s word says and We’re going to speak to please God not men and so we’re going to try to give you honest answers

You may not agree But we hope that will challenge you to check it out in your Bible to see if we’re not correct And if we’re not you can correct us call our 800 number and tell us how we’re wrong The phone number here’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m just saying to you We sure appreciate all of our contributors and thank you for being a part of the Bibleline program We’re going to go now to Stephen Fort Lauderdale. Let me give that phone number 1-800-576-3771.

And Stephen Fort Lauderdale, welcome to Bible Enya on the air. Hi Dr. Langston, how are you? Good. Let me turn on my radio. Just wanted to have two quick questions. I’m going to go ahead and play it after my wife. She’s a ghost hunter or whatever. I know they have this program in a sense. I have a question about your comment on the on the angels living on earth first. There are forms of whatever you think physically. Well, I think there were spirit forms, but apparently angels can take on form.

And I know that. that in the bible you see sometimes angels do make appearances and even christ before kelby for befellham uh… made appearances throughout the old testament was seen my Abraham and my moses and so on so on i think so that that’s my question thank you much all right thank you steve that was steve and for low del florida we now have uh… betty and betty is uh… In Citrus County Betty welcome to Bible I Morning brother and how you feeling did that storm go through your county?

Yes, we got much needed rain a lot of wind and that but we’re fine. Thank you wonderful We didn’t have anything yesterday at all not even a drop of rain. I don’t think it’s kidding You made me laugh when you said the people talking about it in New York might think all of Florida’s underwater Well my sister called me this morning and she says it was unbelievable She was very concerned about me because what she saw on television and they hyped it up like we were just all being blown away down here in Florida.

And at last I said I didn’t even get a drop of rain yesterday. And maybe ten mile an hour wind was about the biggest I got. I was praying that you had your baby. You took a fuck. Oh. Listen, how are you feeling? I’m feeling a lot better. Every day getting stronger and I thank God for all the prayers of all the people that I thank God is answering those prayers. Yeah, we’re praying for you. We call your program, Anna, in the morning.

I don’t want to take a lot of time, Brother, and Chump. I have a comment and then a question, if I may. Sure. The comment, when you were speaking about the ghost and Satan and so forth, recently at a prayer meeting at our church that we’ve newly become members of, I heard brothers pray in this manner. He said, he mentioned the enemy’s name, and then he said, get the behind me. And later, I made a comment in class that I didn’t think we should be talking to the enemy.

As a matter of fact, God may even consider that a former prayer. If we can say, you know, Lord, if I’m feeling oppressed or something, would you please put a edge around me or, you know, move the enemy? What is your take on that, please? I agree with you. I think we need to focus on the Lord and not on demons and on Satan because he’s completely under God’s sovereignty and he can’t wiggle his little finger without God’s permission and Satan is real and we certainly should respect his power and even Michael the Archangel didn’t bring a railing against Satan but said the Lord rebuked me.

So I think we just need to appeal like that’s Jude verse 9 a great verse which taught me a lot about if that was Michael the Archangel who’s certainly much more powerful than I and he didn’t want to come against Satan at all but just simply said Lord you rebuke Satan that’s the direction we ought to go just look to the Lord for protection from Satan and God will send all the angels we need to take care of Satan.

Those are the references that I use to support my particular position. Now Brother Lindston I have so much trouble with this cell phone and sending out the porch hoping that it will break up again so i didn’t really think i have to get through the years so my question is not really truly formed but in the vickis fifteen verses nineteen to twenty five and in there it was that another word anyone with an issue of blood would make uh…

a priest or who never unclean how what how should i deal with matthew nine twenty two twenty two when the lady at with the issue of blood touches that tiki on the carment of the Lord Jesus, the fringes. Someone asked me, you know, we certainly know him become unclean, but how could we handle that? He was still under the law. Well that’s true, but you know you have to just, I guess go beyond all that to realize who Jesus is.

He was the sinless son of God, the Lamb of God, and certainly nobody’s gonna be able to make him unclean because he is by nature clean. He is the resurrection and the life. He’s the way, the truth and the life. And he’s the door. He’s the bread of life. He is the source of life. So I just don’t think it would apply to him. Yeah, I realize that it wouldn’t make a mind claim because he fulfilled the Lord never sinned.

Now, Brother, uh, mention them. Do you have tracks for Jewish people? We don’t right now. We did have some, but I need to get them printed again. Part of the problem is to have the resources to have the inventory and everything. And we definitely have a wonderful Jewish track that you, I don’t probably, you have not seen written by a friend of mine. to mind, but we’re going to try to resurrect that and we’ll try to get some imprint sometime in this next, you know, before the years out.

Well, I am now in track of the, in charge of the track rack, because I objected that we had tracks of Muslims and everyone, but not, everyone, but not the Jewish people. So I went online and I got one from the Good News Publishers who said, how would you recognize the Messiah? the text is wonderful old-passed in its scriptures with excello you know pro quoted and explained right there is an image of jesus on the front which i object to because i want to know who had the camera hahaha boy yeah i know i keep in can look to you for perhaps a good track in the future thank you berry we love you and keep up the good work that blestion okay you too bye bye that’s uh…

considerably nor the ceteris for the city of the was up in the path of that storm i believe uh… thank you very and now we’re going to go to scott down in clear water for and uh… scott welcome to my mind you are on the air okay sir yes sir up i got a question and i’m looking for some significance after geeples of and nobody recognized him until he revealed himself. And I’m curious, when he went into the room where the 12 disciples were, and he confronted Thomas and he said, I won’t believe unless I stick my finger in your side and all that.

I’m just wondering why they couldn’t recognize her. or what happened to the rest of the wounds? Is there any spiritual significance in all of that? Like the threat? You know, the other disciples did recognize him and of course he pointed out his wounds to in verse 20 of John 20. He showed them his hands in his feet and his side, but Thomas wasn’t there. And Thomas not being there said that he just couldn’t believe Christ could have lived again after he saw that body that had been, you know, punctured and had five deadly wounds in addition to the other bruises and cuts from the crown of thorns and things that you just mentioned.

But Thomas obviously became thoroughly convinced when Jesus shows him those open wounds and tells him to put his finger and the wound in his hands or thrust his fist into the wound and his side showing you how large that gaping hole was in the side of his check area. So definitely Thomas was convinced at that particular point. But I think the wounds are there and will be there when Jesus comes back. It says in Zachariah and in Revelation that they are going to look upon him whom they have pierced.

And so they will see the pierced marks and they will recognize him by that when he comes back to the Second Coming. So he is going to retain that body with the wound marks of calvary in them forever okay well i appreciate that i was just looking to tune on the all i think those are the most i think that was those are the most significant wounds i think the other or paling comparison so that’s probably why well what’s what’s he saw the big wounds he he he did that jesus was resurrected no doubt about it i will thank you very much for everything all right thank you scott that scott calling in from clear water for you welcome to call if you would like And again, we have all of your questions.

We have Paul in Tampa who calls in and he says, where did children go if they died? Well, the answer is children below the age of accountability go to heaven. And we know that, here’s a great verse. You ought to write this one down. Second Samuel, 1223, David has a baby by Bathsheba and the baby becomes ill and the Lord takes the baby home. the baby dies at seven days old and we have an amazing statement by David. David said that the child shall not return to me but I’m going to be with that child.

We know David went to heaven and so we know that he would go to heaven to see his child and so all children. The Bible is likely to be found under the age of accountability, which I believe is probably pretty young. I would go directly to heaven. A child is a boarded, unnatural or unnatural. We’d go to heaven. Up to the age when they become accountable, if they die they go straight to heaven. If you’ve lost a young child in infin- in particular, you can count on the factor in heaven.

is 2 Samuel 12 23. Paul also says somewhere in the Bible it says that if you lose your life you have eternal life and if you love your life you lose your life. What does this mean? Well there are a couple of passages. I’ll take you to Mark chapter 8 and it’s really talking about the Christian life and it’s talking about rewards. And when it talks about losing your life. It’s talking about it in the sense that the world would look at it.

You know, a lot of people say that you’re wasting your life or you’re forfeiting your life or wasting your life if you live for Christ. They don’t see any real value in living for Christ. But you’ll notice in verse 35 of Mark 8, he’s saying, whosoever will save his life, shall will lose it. Notice if you save your life for your own benefit, use it for your own pleasures, then when you give it account at the Judgement seat of Christ for rewards, you will have lost your life because you will have not earned any rewards by having lived for Christ.

But then he goes on to say, if you will lose your life or better said, spend your life for my sake and the gospels, then you will have saved it because everything you have done, then will then count for rewards in heaven. So basically it is speaking about rewards, it does not mean that you will have eternal life. That is not in the passage here at all. It simply says that what your life represents from the time you get saved till the time you die, if you spend it for yourself, then you will have lost your life in the sense that we will earn no rewards for you in heaven.

But if you spend it for Christ and for the gospel’s sake, then you will have saved it in the sense that it will be rewarded. So it’s talking about rewards here. It’s not talking about eternal life at all. That’s not in the passage at all. And that passage is Mark 8, 35, and 36. You might want to take a look at that again. If you have a question further, call me back, Paul, and that was an off-air question. We have Karen in Winter Haven, Florida, and she, that’s in the heart of the state of Florida.

Where, or who do we pray to, to God Jesus of the Holy Spirit? Her ten-year-old wants to know if it’s okay to end in Jesus’ name. Great question. And the answer is we pray to God the Father through Jesus, who is the mediator in the direction and power of the Holy Spirit. That’s generally the rule. And when we say in Jesus name at the end, it is our saying that we want God’s will above our own, that we want to do it whatever we’re asking in a way that it would please God.

So we only want things that Jesus would approve. And so your ten-year-old has a great way of ending his prayer. In other words, I don’t want to end my prayer saying I want my will, I want the will of Jesus, I in my prayer are saying not my will, but thy name or thy will be done. I pray in Jesus name. Good one. Jesus is the meeting. Of course, he’s the one who is the one through whom we can reach God the Father.

We are to pray scripturally. The Holy Spirit is the one who teaches us in the Word how to pray. That’s the answer to that question. The Pronomerhood Bibleline, 1-800-576-3771, and you’re welcome to give us a call. Jim in Chesterville, Virginia, calls in, says that it’s okay to take someone off of life support to die. Well I think that you can follow their wishes. You know if they have a living will, they can decide whether they want to be resuscitated or not.

And that is an easy way to follow it out. Sometimes families are left with the choice. But in any case, you know, without all this modern equipment today, many people would have died rather earlier. And sometimes we’re not doing them a favor by letting their bodies just be a vegetable after the machines can keep you going indefinitely. So I think Come. That it is okay. I’m not for euthanasia or the taking of a life, but I think they allow a person to die naturally when it’s time for them to go is perfectly okay.

And if you have a different opinion, I’d love to hear your side of the story. Give me a call. Off the air, Vinny in Hudson, Florida says, If you pray the rosary is that blasphemy and the rosary is really the Roman Catholic Chinese abacus. It’s a method of counting. I was introduced to the abacus which is the Chinese little calculator and you just slide the beads around and you count all the Catholics in order to do penance. They’re assigned so many Hail Marys or our fathers and the beads help them keep track that they don’t, you know, unnecessarily say too many prayers or maybe not say enough to be able to do their penance.

The whole thing is not the rosary. It’s the idea that you have to say repetitious prayers to be able to work off sins that you’ve committed. That is not scriptural at all. And so, yes, that is wrong. We’re going to go to Charles now in Largo, for the Charles welcome to by the line. Good morning sir. God bless you. Thank you. I called you yesterday and I believe I spoke with you and was trying to explain something but I had my words and would it read to you?

Okay. All right. You want to read it for us though or? I would wear children. Says the Lord come back to me and I would. Okay. That That was chapter four. What was the verse again? First 22 22 is You must be reading for another translation the King James says for my people is foolish. They have not known me They are I am so sorry. I am so sorry. It’s Jeremiah three verse 22. Oh, no wonder I’m in the right chapter I was gonna say well what translation are you reading from?

All right, we’re going to return you backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we are coming to the for thou art the Lord our God. So what is the pointer question? I was trying to explain that yesterday that I’ve received the message from God that I have to put out. And it’s basically to the world. And it is this. What is this? That the children of Israel should repent. They need to turn around now so says the Lord.

Well you’re absolutely right. Most of the Jews in Israel are agnostics at best and they don’t they don’t know the Lord, and they need to change your mind about who Christ is, and receive him as a savior and that’s true around the world. Israel is, is right. Are the children of God, but we all are each and every one of us. What to call on? No, the answer is no. In Romans chapter nine and verse eight, it says, just because you’re a child of the flesh does not make you a child of God, but only those that are believed on the promised Savior become God’s children.

And so the phrase here is referring to the descendants of Israel. They are his children, even though they are adults. I know sometimes we get the wrong picture. For example, when the Israelites wanted in the wilderness, they were called the children of Israel. I’ve had some people say, well, why did God let a bunch of little kids run around out in the wilderness? And it wasn’t little kids, they were quite adult. In fact, he said all those that would wander around that were above 20 years of age.

So I tell you how old they were. We’re going to die out there in that 40 years and those that were 20 and under would then eventually then come into the Promised Land. So the phrase children of Israel were children of Adam, but were not children of God until we have the new birth and trust Christ and Savior. So when it says children of Israel, they were to the descendants of Israel. Jacob was his name before he got saved and his name was changed to Child of God which Israel means Child of God and that was only when he trusted Christ and so Jewish people are children of Israel but they’re not children of God until they trust Christ’s Savior.

Does that help? I’ll just one quick question and I’ll let you go. Okay. Yeah, if you trust Christ, everybody that is trusted Christ is a child of God. You’re absolutely right. You got that right. Well, thank you Charles and that was a great question and I think probably a lot of people appreciated the clarification on that. You’re not a child of God until you trust Christ. Everybody that’s trusted Christ is a child of God. You’re born again, but just because you’re born physically into the world and maybe are raised in a Christian church or may raise an America does not make you a Christian.
