Bibleline Radio Show – 2006-07-03 – Now that I am saved

Once you know that you are saved, then there are a number of things that you ought to do to please the Lord. These are not things to do to be saved, but things to do in obedience because you are saved. These things ought to be done daily. But a believer can fall from his steadfastness as to his service for Jesus Christ.

And those turn out really good and people are really enjoying the CD series on these. We’re going to take a look at the Bible for a little bit and then we’re going to Take our collars. We also have a studio audience here today We have a bunch of people that have come and set it in to visit with us and we welcome them to the Program as we welcome you also to the Bibleline program We’re going to take a look at a wonderful verse in Acts chapter 2 and verse 38 we’ve learned there what made the early church significant.

I remember when I got saved, I never heard the gospel in the church I was raised in. And when I did get saved, I realized there were so many things that I was taught that really were not difficult. And what made the early church strong, if you read Acts 2,38, there were 3,000 people we got saved on the day of Pentecost and it says in verse 42 of Acts chapter 2 and they continued and they continued steadfastly and it says here in the Apostles doctrine and so on.

One of the things about the Christian life is that it is a continuous process of growth and you have to continue if you are going to be effective. was affected because people continued. There are a lot of Christian dropouts, people that get started but then for one reason or another you become discouraged or sidetracked and they don’t go any further in their Christian life, although they are saved. They lose out on the rewards, the blessings and the joy that comes by living for Christ after you become saved.

Salvation is a gift. It’s been purchased by Christ’s death and shed blood and is received as a gift at the moment. of belief or trust in Christ as your Savior. But then the second choice we’re to make is to live for Christ and the Christian life is one of continuing if you’re going to be an effective Christian. If you’re going to be a Christian who is enjoying the benefits of living for Christ, the joy and the excitement of of seeing God work in your life and directing your path.

These are the exciting things of the Christian life. I love Proverbs 3, 5, and 6, where it says, trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding in all your ways, acknowledge him and he shall direct your paths. So if you want God directing your path and leading your life, then obviously you need to continue and it says here in Acts 2.42 they continued but not only that they continued steadfastly and what does that mean?

It means that they set their feet so that they wouldn’t be deterred or that nobody could change their course of life but they determined that they were going to be firm in living out the Christian life as long as they were here on the planet. Very few are like that. My My hero in the Bible is Noah, who preached for 120 years even though no one responded to his preaching. Not one person got saved during that whole time, and Peter describes him as a preacher of righteousness.

Apparently, he faithfully preached those 120 years while the ark was being built, where Peter tells us that God waited, giving those people opportunity to get saved. But during that 120 years none of them apparently ever believed the gospel. Can you imagine witnessing for a year and not having anybody trust the Lord, would you be discouraged? Would you throw in the towel? Would you quit? Many would. How about 10 years? Wouldn’t you throw in the towel and say, hey, nobody’s responding.

Maybe I’m wasting my time. What about 20 years or 30 years? Well Noah went on for 50, 60 years, 70 years, 80 years, 90 years, 100 years, 110 years, 120 years Noah faithfully preached and the Bible of course tells us as we proclaim his word we’re successful. It’s not dependent upon the response because that’s on the head of the other person. They have to respond to the message but we’re successful when we proclaim that message and Noah was a great preacher.

And one of the heroes of the Bible there are three men that are in highest standing I guess in God’s Hall of Fame mentioned in in several places in the Old Testament. And Noah is one of those three. You know who the other two are? It mentions three guys that are outstanding believers. And that was Noah and Daniel and Joe. Those three men stood out as unusually great Christians who have things about their Christian life that we ought to follow after and let them be our mentors as Christians.

Well the early Christian was dynamic because they continued and they continued steadfastly and it says here in the Apostles doctrine. It says that because the New Testament yet was not written but yet the New Testament was written by the Apostles and so the Apostles doctrine was really the Word of God. And we find that even Paul tells us as he talks to the people at Thessalonica that he commended them for receiving his words as being the Word of God.

And Paul says they were correct, that they were not the words of men, but it was the Word of God which brought about salvation to their lives and began to guide and direct them. And so even as Paul wrote the New Testament epistles, those were accepted as being the Word of God right from the get-go. So are Peter’s writings. These were Scripture. These were God’s words. And God used these men to bring it about. Later Peter tells us that we’re to be mindful in 2 Peter 3, 2 of the words spoken before by the prophets.

That’s the Old Testament and of us the apostles of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, which is the New Testament. Notice, when it says here, that it continues steadfastly in the apostles doctrine. That is the Word of God. Throughout the New Testament and the Old Testament, it is claimed that these words are the Word of God. Peter tells us the Word of God liveth and abiteth forever and ever and ever. Long after this planet has perished, long after this planet has been destroyed and replaced by a new earth and a new heaven, the Bible tells us that the Lord is the Son of God.

scriptures will still be around forever. They’re never going to be changed, never going to be rescinded. We’re not allowed to change them. God gives a warning in Revelation 22 about adding or subtracting from them and we find that we need to know what this book has to say. The book of Hebrews tells us that we’re to follow those who preached unto us the word of God. Now there’s a lot of people preaching out there today but they’re not necessarily preaching the word of God.

So we’re only admonished in the Bible to follow those who are preaching to us God’s Word. And if you’re listening to other voices that are not accurately giving you what God’s Word says, then you’re going to be misled and misdirected. And so the Bible tells us were to follow those who are teaching us what God said. And the early Christians continued Acts 242 steadfastly in the Apostles doctrine. In other words, they were listening to what God said through the apostles, which is essentially the 27 books of the New Testament, and that’s what made them dynamic.

That’s what made them strong. Where do you stand in relationship to the Word of God as a believer? If you’re a believer, are you continuing every day and are you continuing steadfastly and are you continuing in the Word of God, in the apostles doctrine? Well, if you are, that will make you a strong believer. And you’ll be effective. But Satan doesn’t want that to happen. So what happens? He obviously bumps most Christians out of the action by getting them to stay away from their Bible and to not continue.

They kind of drop out, Christian dropouts, and they don’t continue steadfastly. We need to set our faces toward the Lord and live our lives in view of the fact He’s coming back. While we’re living in exciting times, signs in the heavens, tomorrow the space shuttle will launch. We pray that it will be a successful launch. At the same time, North Korea might try to steal our thunder by launching their long-range ballistic missile. And we don’t know what kind of payload they might have.

But they certainly are saying that if we mess with that launch, that they will retaliate with a nuclear strike. Boy, how the anti-the stakes been driven up here lately. We are being threatened with nuclear war. Well, the Bible says there would be wars and rumors of wars in the last days, and I think we are there, and it’s not going to get better. It’s only going to get worse until Jesus comes back and brings peace on earth good will toward I hope you are a believer as you listen today.

If you haven’t trusted Christ, you need to, because if you die without Christ, you’ll go to hell. There is no one who can enter heaven apart from Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ said, I am the way the truth of the life, and no man can come unto the Father but by me, John 14, 6. And so if you have not trusted Christ, you are actually gambling with all eternity at stake. If you die without Christ, The Bible has never been wrong.

You are going to wind up in hell. You don’t want that to happen. God so loved the world that he gave his only beyond the Son that if you would simply believe or trust that Jesus died and shed his blood to pay for your sins, the Bible says you would not perish because he perished in your place but you would have everlasting life. I am Dr. Englund from Mrs. Bibleline. We are excited about being able to be with you today.

Thanks for tuning in to the broadcast. We are going to go to the phone lines. We have a number of callers. We have one in Richmond, Virginia. We have Reverus and Reverus, welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Are you there? Yes, hello, I am here. Okay, you are on the air. Yes, okay, this is my first time. What is that name called? And I have a couple of questions for you. Which is the meaning of the quote?

Well a cult is by definition those who deny the basic tenets of Christianity. So generally they deny the Word of God as being the sole authority for our belief system. They usually deny the Trinity. They usually deny the deity of Christ. They usually deny hell. They usually deny salvation by faith. So those are some of the basic tenets of Christianity that are… He is denied by occult. So we define the Jehovah’s Witnesses as an occult because they believe the Watchtower Society and their information is the lens through which they read the Bible.

They do not believe in the Trinity. They do not believe in the Deaf Christ. They do not believe in salvation by faith. They do not believe in hell and so on and so on. So that’s why we call them occult. Okay. Okay. Now I have a another question. I hear you saying that Jesus was crucified on Thursday. He was crucified on Wednesday. Thursday of that week he was crucified was the Passover and he was crucified in the afternoon of the Passover because the Jews count their night first.

They count their days from Sunday on the Sunday evening. Wednesday night at 6 o’clock was Thursday night or the Passover began. And the evening of the Passover would have been Wednesday afternoon and the evening period is from three o’clock to six o’clock and Christ died exactly at three o’clock. We believe on Wednesday in that time period that the Bible said the Passover should be offered up and then he was buried at six and in the grave 72 hours and we believe rose Saturday at six p.m.

Well, absolutely the Bible doesn’t mention time playing at 24 hours each day. But the thing is this, yeah. Well yeah it does. In John 11 it says Jesus said, are there not 12 hours in the day and in the night? Yeah. So the 12 hours is the daylight period, 12 hours is the night period. And Jesus said in Matthew 1240 he would be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. That’s clearly a 72 hour period.

Yeah, this is another topic that I like to discuss another day. Sure. But the thing is this, see if you will be in the Bible, the book of look chapter 23 54 to 56 you will see that Jesus was crucified in the day of the preparation right and that was the preparation of the Passover that Saturday Sabbath and the Passover that week was on Thursday and Saturday was the regular Saturday Sabbath but he was crucified on the preparation of Passover which was Which was Wednesday?

The preparation day is not for the festival, for the feast. It’s called Friday is the day of preparation. If you read the next episode. the 1623 when Israel was about to get the collectm full you know on Friday got all the people my Sabbath day right but the preparation we’re talking about is not for the Sabbath it was for the Passover which is also called a Sabbath even though it did not occur on a Saturday so during that week there were several Sabbaths.

In fact, in Matthew 28 verse 1 it says, in the end of the Sabbaths, then as the first day began to dawn, the women came with the spices to finish the burial. So there were several Sabbaths that week and the seven feast days that God gave to Israel that you read about all of Leviticus 23, all each were a Sabbath, even though many of them did not occur on a Saturday. The feast of first fruits was always a Sunday.

The But these Topenikos was always a Sunday and so we’re not talking about the Saturday Sabbath here. I agree with that point but the thing is that the day that Jesus Christ died what I call a high day on Sabbath. You know why? Because high day is not for the feast. The high day was because it was double Sabbath. Sabah of the seven the week the feast of the Passover high day for that that reason and If you read the history In Sabah, it was a high day during the Israel time and the date that Jesus Christ This is this is not what happened if you read very carefully It says in John 19 that it was the pastor the preparation of the Passover which was always a I say a day separate.

Generally did not fall on the Saturday and it was Thursday of that week. So I’m sorry that I really thoroughly disagree with you and I think we’ll get some Jewish callers that we’ll call in and I’m sure we’ll tell you that you are in error on this. We’re not going to go to Lue in Tampa, Florida. Lue, welcome to Bible Andrew on the air. Well, Dr. Hank, how are you today? Good. How are you doing? Good. Good. I’ll ask the question and then I’ll hang up and listen to your response.

Okay, having, if I give you these four time periods, the Present day prior, right before the Rapture, then immediately following the Rapture we had the seven years of tribulation. Immediately after the seven years we have the thousand year reign and I’m even going to include that time when Satan is loosed for a short period. If you had to guess the percentage of Christians, and I mean genuine believing Christians, would you say we would have more Christians in what time period?

period this present day the seven years of tribulation or the thousand years inclusive of the short time that satan blues what what what would you say and i’m going to uh… hang up and listen your response all right that’s a tough one because uh… we would just purely be guessing that i would imagine during the millennium we’d have the most believers of any uh… but percentage wise of of the total population of any time because Christ is going to be visibly ruling on the earth from Jerusalem and the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord.

And so I would say that that would be the time when there would be the majority. Now we do know that Satan is loosed at the end and rounds up a large group of unbelievers. But obviously we believe that that is the probably the time when the most believers will be around. Alright we’re going to now go to George and Palm Beach Gardens. George welcome to Bobline you’re on the air. George are you there? And I think I lost George are you there?

Yes. Okay you’re on the air. Good morning. Just kind of a little curiosity here. The New Covenant. What is there an exact time of the initiation of the New Covenant like was it when Christ died when he ascended or when the Holy Spirit came upon the Apostles? Well, the New Covenant began with Christ, definitely, because when I believe when Jesus said it is finished, that’s when it really took place. Okay. Okay. So, we have the good news in the God’s books, Acts which are history, then we have the Epistles, the prophecy of Revelation.

As far as Christians go, the Epistles for our instructions and our conduct or whatever correct we do not go to anything in the old customer right we do the lessons for us to be learned from the old testament but no the where that the i call the twenty seven weeks of the new testament to find print of the new covenant okay so that’s uh… probably we stand there all right that makes sense if i may and i don’t know the new age what is this all about Well, the New Age is really the incorporation of really Eastern religions and other teachings into Christianity and they call it New Age, but it’s really nothing new its old age made so-called new given a new Facade but it’s nothing new under the Sun the Bible tells us and we’re really actually being taken backwards by these different

Things from the Eastern religions that are brought into Christianity today and people think that’s a smart thing to do But it’s really Whenever you depart from the Bible you’re being very foolish. Thank you. All right. Well, there’s a lot of good books out That kind of exposed what the new age is all about but it’s really old age brought in under a new garment a new cover a new way of presenting it and it’s really a false teaching that is coming into Christianity.

In any case we are excited about being with you today if you’d like to call us you’re welcome to call in at 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. So please take advantage of that and also don’t forget our internet site. You can go to that and click on the the internet site to our radio programs and you’ll be able to listen to 24 hours a day seven days a week. Give us a call 1-800-576-3771. We would love to hear from you. Alright, we have Anthony who calls in from…

He says, if you cannot leave your salvation, what do you then save from? Well, obviously you have to get salvation first and then of course you can’t lose it when you receive it. But you’re saved from hell in order that you might go to heaven at the moment you trust Jesus as your Savior. So it’s essential that you trust Him and unless you do, you will not be able to enter heaven. The only way you can go to heaven is to trust Jesus Christ.

as your personal savior if you haven’t done that then you’re in deep deep trouble so i hope that you have i trusted crisis your savior we’re gonna go to lowest and bellare low school here hello yet we must have a rare low school we have here no yeah you’re on the air go ahead i want to have a very sorry i just put up my radio car at my cell phone uh… good morning to you sometime ago a gentleman called in and he tried to make a point that he did not carry the cross um…

this other guy carried the cross for him He quoted from all four gospels. They will get the gospel of John if I remember it. He said that… we have to go to break the kitchen just a minute so hold on don’t go away we’ll be right back don’t go away by the line will be back in a moment give us a call at one eight hundred five seven six three seven seven one That’s 1-800-576-3771. We come to you live every day, Monday through Friday from Tampa, Florida and we look forward to being with you and we are listener supported. If you’re enjoying this program then you need to thank all of those who are Bibleline partners who give to this program that allow us to be on the air. And you could be one of those if you’d like. Obviously it requires all of us participating to make this program possible. Our partnership with our listeners is very, very real.

We really don’t have the finances to be able to afford this program. It’s much bigger than me. It’s much bigger than my church. And this is a wonderful adventure where we’re reaching out across America on many stations from New York to Florida and all the way over to the Mississippi River up and down the eastern part of the country. And we are looking forward to continuing to bring these programs to you and to expand these programs. And in order to be able to do that, we need certainly our listeners to participate and help us.

Maybe you would like to be a partner. You can send a gift to Bible and at 4811 George Road in Tampa, Florida and the Zippus or you can give a gift by credit card over the phone by calling that 800 number. If you couldn’t get that address, you can call our operators. They’ll be glad to recite that address to you. And they’ll be glad to maybe send you an envelope with the address already printed on it. And certainly we hope that you will take advantage of that.

And again, we’re not trying to get your money. We really want to get the Word of God out. And the only way that can happen is if we have our partners helping us. This would be a great time to help us. In the summer it’s a little bit more lean. We could use your help right now to make sure that all of our stations are able to be carried and continued on. And that you’ll be able to listen wherever you might be listening from today.

So would you consider being a Bibleline partner, praying for Bibleline and also giving a gift to Bibleline? people who would give us regular gifts every month and that would allow us to be able to continue all of our programming wherever we might be. We’re excited about what’s happening with the Internet. We had 10,300 people listen in the month of May and we’re anxious to see what our totals are for the month of June. And of course, we know that now we’re going to be able to see our television programs on the Internet.

wonderful breakthrough for us and of course all of these things cost money and we just need your help and your prayers. So would you pray for us? We’re about ready to join those stations that have been on station break and do Bible in part two so we want you to stay tuned and don’t go away because we’re going to join now the other stations that have been on break and do the second half. A Bibleline. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr.

Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back from that break and this is Bible and we’re coming to you live by the way from our studios right here in Tampa, Florida at the Calvary Community Church and again we are excited about classes beginning July 11th a week from the 4th of July Tuesday nights for five weeks from seven to nine o’clock we’ll be studying the eight exciting chapters of first Thessalonians and and second Thessalonians.

But In any case, we are excited about being able to bring this program to you today. And we want to thank all of our listeners who are the ones who make that possible. We’re now going to a caller in Port Charlotte, Florida.

And we have, I’m not sure how to pronounce your name. Would you help me out? Usniel, usniel. Usniel, I’m pretty close anyway. I tried hard, but welcome to by one. Yeah. Some time ago, I am in the car more to the family, the matter of how I come in the car, now I am speaking with you on my side of the phone. Some time ago I heard a program where a gentleman was trying to make the point that Jesus did not carry the cross.

It was someone who carried the cross for him. And he quoted the four gods part in the, I don’t have a bad weapon, no, unfortunately because of many cars, as I said. And when he got to John, it was a sort of, and he said that the pronoun that was used Simon, I’m not referring to Jesus. That I find very hard to swallow and he said you would get back to him. Did you do any research on that and get back to him?

No, I apologize because as you remind me of it, I didn’t. I never got back to that. I don’t know what happened, but I guess I let that just slip through the cracks. But it appears that Christ carried the cross most of the way, but obviously the most all denominations for example believe that Simon was compelled to carry the crossbeam at least of the last bit of the way to the hill of Calvary. And did you have a particular verse that you had in mind there?

No, unfortunately I just had a little chance reading for somebody who knows where I could make the call. Yeah, let me know. I don’t have my Bible with me, but I just wanted to… I’m going to get my operators to write that down so I can make sure that I do the homework on that and find out for you. Okay. Good to hear from you. Thanks for calling in down there in Port Charlotte, Florida. Okay, my friend. Thank you.

All right And we’ll try to do the research on that and if my operators will make a note of that for me We’ll be able to get to that. We’re gonna go to Lois in Bell Air, Florida and Lois, welcome to Bibleline you are on the air Hello, God bless you. I guess I kind of wondered I’ve always wondered What should you consider to be the most legitimate in-house debate? And are there any issues in the Christian faith that you have not settled for yourself yet?

I missed that first part. Say it one more time. Which issues in the Christian faith in-house debate do you consider to be the most legitimate? And then have you not settled for any of those questions for yourself yet? I think I’ve got everything pretty settled in my mind about the major different issues. Of course, the greatest doctrine, the one that is most important, is salvation. And it’s amazing to me how much debate there is when there really should be no debate at all.

It seems like it’s pretty straightforward that Jesus died and paid for our sins. And he did that because we could do nothing to save ourselves. And we need to simply trust him and he saves us. And it’s not therefore based upon our works or deeds, but based upon what he accomplished for. by his substitution of death at the cross. I believe that that is not debatable almost in the sense that I see it so clearly, but yet there are those who just seem to ignore that and tell you that you have to keep the commandments, you have to keep the Sabbath, or you have to go to church, you have to live the Christian life, or you have to be water baptized, and all these other issues drop in there.

That’s because I think a really poor scholarship, people are not reading their Bible very carefully, and they’re generally coming I think with church tradition and teaching that as doctrine even though it contradicts what the clear teaching of the Bible is. I think most of those issues are pretty clearly spelled out in the Bible and I think even the ones that have to do with prophecy in other areas. But I think there are major things that we need to major in and minor things that are not as important to get excited over.

And there are some debates that really, I think are just a waste of time. And the Bible warns about foolish questions and questions about genealogies that just, you spend all your life on and you don’t get anywhere with. So the Bible warns us about getting sidetracked like that, but we need to stay with the major things. I’ve been studying it a long time, I’ve been studying it a lifetime, and I’ve always been curious about everything. I always love to hear what people have to say.

I listen to their questions and I’ve learned a lot from the questions that have been asked me that I had to do homework to find out the answers from the scriptures for my own satisfaction as well as helping somebody else out who had a question. I feel pretty comfortable about where i stand on the bible that i hold to the bible being the word of god and that i believe the bible says what it means means what it says and where to take it pretty much literally except when it tells us that it’s giving us an allegory or something is metaphorical or something okay thank you and you’re very welcome that is lois and bellaire we have now shawn in richmond virginia and that shawn uh…

welcome the bible and you are on the air How are you doing? Good. Boundary maybe a week ago and there’s definitely a blessing to my heart in giving this opportunity here that question answered by me and the guy. Well thank you. I know that I struggled as a new believer years and years ago where I didn’t know who to turn to. And I had so many questions. I was so inquisitive and I didn’t know where to go or who to turn to and I just struggled.

And of course over the years got us through my studies that have given me answers. But that’s why we’re providing Bible and for people because we believe that there is a great need to get people Quick answers right from the Bible. I’m glad you’re enjoying the program It is our pastor because sometimes people Because of the questions you asked make think that you’re trying to major on the minor But you know a lot of these questions are legitimate. I just thank you again for that My question I have two questions for you.

I’m gonna hang up and listen to your answer. Okay, and Peter it talks about about husbands dwelling with your lives according to knowledge. I wonder if you can answer that question for me. Explain that to me. That one there, that scripture. And the second one was about tithing. What is your, what have you learned? What have you come to in terms of tithing now that we’re under the New Testament and the tithing still apply to the New Testament Christian?

Is it still ceremonial and like it’s applied to us? Okay. Thank you, Sean, in Richmond, Virginia for that call. Well, in First Peter, Chapter 3, we’re talking about dwelling with your wives, husbands, according to knowledge. I think we have to do our homework and realize that women don’t think the same way that men do and vice versa as one book came out and said, men are from Mars and women are from Venus or which weaver that goes. But obviously, the needs of a man and the needs of a woman are different.

So for a man to meet the needs of a woman, he needs to understand what her needs are. And a man, his needs are very basic. And a man can get along with a bed, a refrigerator and a TV set, I think, and probably survive through life and do quite well. But for a woman, there is this need of having a home and wanting to have children and raise children. And so they look at your home differently than we do.

They have, most women have… He is a little special thing that women do in order to make a house a home and they have a desire within themselves to make that a place where they can raise the family and have children and so on. So there are wonderful books out there. I know James Dobson has a couple of them. He’s got a book that says what every wife wishes her husband knew about women and there’s the book that is the opposite whatever husband which his wife knew about men and as you learn about the other partner obviously then you can perhaps satisfy their needs but if you’re just trying to satisfy their needs by thinking their needs are the same as yours as a male versus a female you’re gonna have problems because they are not the same.

On the other question about tithing, tithing was under the law, but we’re still obligated to give. It says over in 1 Corinthians or other 2 Corinthians 8 and 9, two wonderful chapters about giving, that basically as we give, we’re going to be blessed or rewarded. We’re actually laying up treasures in heaven. And some people give much more than 10%. Some great Christians I’ve read about, I believe Mr. Armor of Armor Meats and John Dear of John Dear Tractors, these men were given about 90% of their income to the Lord and living on just 10%.

So basically the Bible gives us the principle of giving as we have been prospered by the Lord and that we are to make a personal determination as to how much to give. And so you might give more than 10 percent, but we’re not under the law. And the Bible tells us that God in 2 Corinthians 8, 9 that God loves someone who gives hilariously or gives from the heart, not because there is a need or because they feel obligated to give but because they want to.

And God really wants a willing heart, chapter 8 of 2 Corinthians really describes that. And so if you’re doing it because you’re obligated to do it or you’re doing it because there’s a need you’re trying to meet, it’s not necessarily the giving that God is looking for. He’s looking for somebody who willingly gives from the heart because he loves the Lord. And so I think we shouldn’t certainly give less than we would have under law, under grace, and we ought to figure out how much should we give and give a portion of that which God has blessed us with.

Hope that helps a little bit. We have Glenn in Pensacola, Florida and Glenn, welcome to Bibleline. Good morning, Dr. Hank. So you’re able to hear us up there loud and clear? Yes. Well, good. We did listen to you on 550 AM out of Atmore. Yes. And now it’s been transferred to 610 Pensacola. Okay. I know that it was a problem with the power or the station or something, but I’m glad you’re able to hear us up there in Pensacola, Florida.

Yes, we’re hearing you very good. I need some help with scripture verses. Okay. You talked about, or you have talked about angels living on a former earth? Yes, I believe that that is the case. And what verses, or what verse would you… Well, like Isaiah 14, where you have the five eye-wills of Satan, and if you read this carefully, Obviously Lucifer was not in heaven when he was planning his invasion of heaven He says in the first time I will in Isaiah 14 13.

He says I will Ascend in the heaven so why would he say that if he was already living in heaven? He was not living in heaven I believe he was as he still has the title today the god of this world Lived over all and ruling over this earth and over all the angels of God that lived here with him and then secondly He says I am going to ascend above the stars of God. So apparently he was below the visible planetary heavens that was going to go beyond the stars to the edge of the universe where heaven itself was.

Thirdly he says I am going to sit also upon the mountain of the congregation in the sides of the north. He talks about this corridor in the north where there is a void and there are no stars. Job describes it 35 hundred years ago in Job 26 7 that God stretches out the north over the empty place and hangs here upon nothing. So apparently Job is telling us about this place where Heaven itself is and Lucifer was going to go there into the north where Heaven itself is and there establish his throne He was the God of this world and when he took a third of the angels with him in his invasion, then God cast him and those angels back in the earth.

He said, I will be like the most high. So it’s apparent that Lucifer didn’t live in heaven. He lived on the earth. He was the God of this world. And when he took a third of the angels with him in his invasion, then God cast him and those angels back down. back down to the earth and the earth I believe became as it was in verse 2 without form and void. I would also use the little book of Jude verse 6 tells us about how the angels that went with Satan or Lucifer in this invasion left the peace of real estate that God had given them to live on.

If you notice what it says in Jude verse 6 and it says here that the angels which kept not their first estate. In other words, they had a piece of real estate that God gave them. It was the planet earth, but they left their own habitation. So they left the place that God had given them to inhabit, which I believe was the planet earth. These are the ones that he’s reserved in the everlasting chains under darkness, under the judgment of the great day, which is going to occur at the Second Coming of Christ, when Satan and his angels will finally cast into the eternal lake of fire.

So why are they still around here on the earth because this was their former place of habitation. They left it and they were cast back down to it and are now judged and are going to wind up being cast into the everlasting lake of fire. They’re numerous other verses but that is a beginning on this. I have some tapes where you can hear by teaching where I go through a lot of this one tape I call creation of a one hour, I guess about a 40 minute presentation gives a lot of verses that you would be looking for when they were cast down from heaven from the other from attempting to enter heaven they were actually on the earth they were sending toward heaven and when god threw him back down do we have time for one more little dissertation go for it uh…

in his equal thirty eight you had referred to uh… when the russians come upon israel yes uh… and you said it would start the battle of armageddon or world war three at one time by still believe that and how do you go there how do you arrive at that conclusion well because you’ll find the similarities in Ezekiel 38 are the same as what the bible describes the book uh… in the book of revelation as to the battle of armageddon which of course is when uh…

christ comes back and he uh… defeats the armies of the world at the battle of Armageddon. If you read Ezekiel 38, it says surely in that day in verse 19, there should be a great shaking in the land of Israel. Verse 20, so that the fishes of the sea and the fowls of the heaven and the beasts of the field in all creeping things that creep upon the earth and all men that are upon the face of the earth, and here’s what you need to mark, shall shake at my presence.

So that is Jesus coming back and he’s going to shake up this world and defeat the armies of the world including Russia that initiates this coming against Israel and that figures off that arm again. Sounds very good to me. Okay. Thank you. Thank you for calling in. Alright. Now we’re going to go to Levita. Oh, Levita, Redix, he’s being link worth Florida. Levita. to Bible and you’re on the air. Thank you, Dr. Hank. I guess it’s more of a comment than a question.

Last week our friend Harold, thank you, Drew. He called and asked other Christians to call in and share how they envisioned the return of Jesus. Yes. And we were thinking about that. And Harold, I quit thinking about that years ago because my grandma was watching and she died, then my mother was watching and she died. I realize there’s a good possibility that I will probably die before his return. So I decided to concentrate on that. First, I think Harold should seek the kingdom rather than watching for the return.

And Harold is obviously a very intelligent man, but there’s going to be a lot of dummies like me in heaven. Harold has what I call paralysis from analysis. You’re spending way too much time watching Benny Hinn, the 700 Club, etc. and looking for what is wrong with religion rather than the simplicity of Jesus’ message. Don’t confuse the message with the messenger. That can only be resolved by praying the sinner’s prayer and then and only then will you know the truth and the truth will set you free.

Come on Harold, get off the fence. If you die tonight. Where are you going? Thank you, Dr. Hank. Oh, right. Well, thanks for good advice for Harold. And I know he’ll be hearing a listing that he listens to the programs. And so he’ll catch that. Thanks a lot, Levita. Thank you, Dr. Hank. Bye-bye. We’re praying that Harold will come over the edge and trust the Lord as his Savior. We’re going to Victoria in Jacksonville, Florida. And Victoria, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air.

Yes, good morning. I have a question with regards to spiritual gifts. Okay. I was reading Scholfield, my Scholfield study Bible in 1 Corinthians chapter 12, 28 to 31, specifically verse 28. All right. Now where all of these gifts and they refer to teachers, I guess the gift of miracles, gift of healings helps, diversity of tongues. This whole area in there, I’ve heard you speak to especially with regards to tongues, no longer being applicable and not today. But what does that speak to them?

What does that mean? Diversity of tongues and as it continues in the next few verses. Well you know at the time 1 Corinthians was written that was early on in the 1st century the real gift of tongues was still operative and so he was talking about some of the gifts that were still in operation at that time. If you notice verse 29 and also verse 28 the first one in the list of gifts is the gift of apostles. You have back and ceased.

Obviously we don’t have any more apostles and so he’s listing gifts in order of importance He puts tongues at the bottom of the list, but it was still in operation. And then he in chapter 14 gives some correction as to how the Corinthians were misusing that wonderful gift. They should have been using it in evangelism and were using it in their church and the people in the church didn’t understand that form language. So he said you have to interpret it and only two or three at most doing this and you have to maintain order and not the confusion where a lot of different people were displaying their gift of a foreign language and doing it at the same time.

Nobody knew what the role was going on. So he was just laying down the rules for how it should be applied. But these particular gifts we believe have gone. In chapter 13 outlines at least three that would disappear, the gift of knowledge, the gift of prophecy and the gift of tongues would be concluded when the New Testament record was completed, which is perfect in verse 10 of chapter 13. And so we believe that he’s writing instruction to people who still had the gift and it was still in operation and giving them advice as to how to use it properly.

All right. That I understand the gift of healing. This is an area where I get a lot of flak if you can use that word from friends. When I try to say say to me, is it possible for a healing to take place today, a miracle healing. And the answer is yes. But I believe in divine healing, but I don’t believe in divine healers. The gift of healing where somebody has the power to heal somebody, I believe is gone.

But I think, and obviously in our prayer meeting, when we have people that are sick, we pray for them. We have a list of those that are, you know, we’re going in for surgery and we pray for them and we believe certainly God can heal according to his will. not always God’s will know to heal you. In 2 Corinthians 12 Paul was made ill by the Lord on purpose to keep him humble. And Paul prayed three times to be healed and God said no three times.

And then the Lord told Paul that I made you sick to keep you humble and when you’re weak then I am stronger in your life as you become more dependent upon me. Paul then goes on to say most gladly therefore will I take pleasure in my illness and in my Distresses and my necessities and and my persecutions and so on that the power of Christ my rest upon me so sometimes when we are weak we become stronger spiritually because we are Dependent upon the Lord in a way that we weren’t otherwise and therefore God is stronger in us as we Put our dependence more on him and that’s what Paul experienced I think that’s also, yes, I understand that now.

And I do see that when people become ill or they have a debilitating or even terminal illness, their whole focus from an outward perspective is shifts. Absolutely. And they finally begin to focus on what is important and it’s amazing. Often that’s when a healing will take place. That’s right. That’s when a healing will take place. Thank you very much for explaining that to me. I read that over the weekend and I was determined to try to get through this morning.

Well, you’re so welcome and thank you, Victoria, listening in Jacksonville, Florida. And we’re excited about all of our listeners who are calling in. We have Mr. Anonymous, a different one than we normally talk to. And he’s up there in… Richmond, Virginia. So welcome, Mr. Anonymous. We only have a few seconds left, so… Okay, good morning, Dr. Hank. Hey, that verse in chapter 19, my main… at the very end, he’s walked away from it. So that question needs to be asked a little bit more.

Yes, yes. You’ve got to really nail them to the wall because it’s almost like double-talk. In one breath they say you can’t lose it, but then you can walk away and lose it. We’ve got to go. I’m so sorry to come. you off? Because we’re out of time. But this is Bibleline. Keep looking up. Jesus is coming. And also through the gifts of our listeners, we’re able to pay the bills to stay on the air. Maybe you’d like to help us here during the summer. We could certainly use your help to make sure that we are able to carry all the stations that we’re on and be able to continue to see our program by the line expanded. We’re going to have to leave for the day because of the time, but keep looking up. Jesus is coming and may be sooner than we think and would not be great.
