Prophecy always comes to pass. History proves the Bible. God gives more than abundant proof that the Bible is the Word of God. Because we are obstinate and hard to be convinced, God tells of future things before they happen and of things that we did not know! Read Isaiah 48:3-8 for yourself!

The Bible as we have said so many times is the Word of God. Not only does it claim to be the Word of God, but it also demonstrates that it is the word of God by its accuracy, by its longevity, by the fact that it can tell the future before it happens, and the claim is plain wherever you look that God claims to be the author. I am going to go back to Isaiah 48 in verse 3, and here Isaiah says about 740 years BC, Because he is really quoting God.
God says I have declared the former things from the beginning. They went forth out of my mouth, not Isaiah’s mouth, but God’s mouth. And I showed them. I did them suddenly and they came to pass. And so here Isaiah not claiming to be the author, but simply taking dictation from God. We find here he is quoting God as God said that he showed things and told things from his mouth which are recorded for us here in Scripture. Verse 4 is the verse I want you to look at.
Isaiah 48 4 where God says, because I knew that thou art obstinate and thy neck is an iron sinew and thou brow brass. I’ll never forget as a young believer reading this verse and I said, wow, that’s me. That’s me. Obstinate. Brass headed hard to be convinced. And you know, God said that I’m going to give you evidence so you can know that this Bible of yours is written by me, that it’s true. And so in verse 5, look at what God says in Isaiah 48, you ought to write this passage down, it’s great.
I have even, God says, from the beginning, showed it to be, look at the next phrase, before it came to pass, I showed it the, catch that phrase, before it came to pass, Before it came to pass, obviously he’s going to tell the future before it happens. And he says, I showed it to the last you should say, well my religion or my idol or my graven image or my opinion is correct. God said so you can know my Bible is what you need to trust and put confidence in.
I’m telling you these things before they come to pass. In verse 6 he tells us that we need to make up our mind not to sit in the middle of the road unable to make a decision about this thing. He says, you’ve heard and you see all this that I’ve shown you in my Bible. Will you not declare it? In other words, won’t you admit that this has to be my word because there’s no possible way that it could have been written just by men.
He says in verse 6, and this is God again, we’re quoting, I have shown you new things from this time, even hidden things, and thou didst not know them. He said, you didn’t know these things. So these are things that before man knew them, God told them. And here they are in the Old Testament and in the new, because God said, I know you’re obstinate, Ilimits I know your brass headed, I know your iron neck, I know you’re hard to be convinced.
So I’m telling you before they come to pass, just in the area of science, which was a particular interest to me. Science was my God and I graduated in electrical engineering from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. Science in particular impressed me. But you know the Bible says thousands of years ago, right here in Isaiah in chapter 40, that the earth is round. That’s long before man knew it. God says, you didn’t know these things. I’m telling you before you know them, before they come to pass, so that you can know that this book is written by me.
Well, in any case, God says in chapter 40 of Isaiah, have you not known? Have you not heard? That’s not Isaiah speaking. This is God himself speaking through Isaiah. He says, have you not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundation of the earth? And then God says, it is he that it is God that sits upon the circle of the earth. Let me ask you a very simple question, what shape is a circle?
It is round. You got it right. Congratulations. Well, guess what? The Hebrew word translated circle is a Hebrew word that means sphere. It really is talking about the earth being a round ball. Thousands of years ago, about 2000 years before Columbus ever sailed the ocean blue in 1492. It is God, if we were to read this in modern English, it is God that sits above the sphericity of the earth. The earth is a round ball and God sits above it.
From his vantage point, looking down, he says the inhabitants thereof are his grasshoppers. It has been on a tall building, you know what it is like to look down and people look so small and look like ants or insects. The Bible tells us from God’s vantage point we just look so teeny in that perspective. And then he says, he stretches out the heavens as a curtain and spread them out as a tent to dwell in. This is an amazing scientific fact.
Notn until James Hubble came along, the one from which the Hubble telescope has been named, James Hubble discovered that the universe is expanding outward. And the biggest shock to the scientists is it’s continuing to expand. It’s ever expanding, apparently from when the universe was created, all of the matter that was created as expanding outward, exploding outward from perhaps the Big Bang when in the beginning God brought the universe into existence. And it says here that he stretched it out to heaven, he spread it to the mouth.
Well that was twenty-seven hundred years ago and it wasn’t until just a little bit ago that James Hubble discovered what Isaiah had already said, what God had already said, that the universe is expanding, the universe is stretching out, the universe is spreading out and God’s taught that in the Bible thousands of years ago. I don’t know about you but I’m impressed. I am impressed because the Bible doesn’t include the myth of fairy tale, the superstition, the false concepts and ideas of the time in which the Bible was written.
You know, if we were to incorporate all the silly ideas that they had back in those days, I’m afraid that the Bible would just be pitched out by everybody. I love Isaiah, Leviticus 1711, it says the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I’ve given it to you upon the altar to make an entombment for your souls, for it is the blood that makes it an entombment for the soul. Well, Leviticus 1711 tells us that the life of our flesh is in our blood.
What an amazing scientific fact. Today we know that. But you know, if you were to go back just a few hundred years, when George Washington was president, he became very ill with double pneumonia. The best doctors the nation had to offer came to the side of our president George Washington and they prescribed, guess what, bloodletting. That’s right. And medical records today reveal that George Washington died from loss of blood because Because they drained out three pints of blood out of George Washington.
No wonder he died with double pneumonia and you drain out three pints of blood. Well obviously our science at that time was not very advanced and I sure wouldn’t be treated by one of the doctors of those days. But you know they failed to realize what the Bible said that the life of the flesh is in the blood. Today we know that for a fact. In fact, if you go to a hospital, it’s not fashionable to go unless you have an IV dripping down into your body.
Instead of draining fluids out, they put fluids in. Interesting, isn’t it? When you go to the doctor’s office, that nurse who smiles and comes forward and reaches her hand out, you think she’s going to shake your hand and greet you. And all of a sudden, when she catches your hand, she pricks the end of your hand and you’re bleeding and she takes that blood and puts it on a slide and he says, wow, I don’t want to shake hands with that nurse again.
Then they take that piece of glass with the blood on it into the microscope and they look in there and they say, no wonder you’re sick with all those things climbing around in your blood. You know, the blood work is what they want to do first nowadays. They are over exaggerated. They’re what happens in the doctor’s office. But in many cases, the first thing they want to do is do a blood work on you and they can determine from the blood the life of your body.
The life of the flesh is in the blood that tells us that in numerous places but Leviticus 1711 is one of those and science has advanced hasn’t it? You know in those early days the barbers were the ones who would oftentimes help and assist in the bloodletting and they had those strypit poles because they would take their razor sharp knives and slice your wrist and drain out a certain amount of blood. Wow, I’m glad I’m not living in those days.
And of course they would use leeches to suck the blood out. Boy, I’m glad we’ve come a long way since then. But the Bible, you see, was way ahead of its time. The Bible tells us what we know to be scientific fact today. Let’s just the beginning of it all. We don’t have time to cover a whole lesson on all the scientific facts of the Bible. But God said, I know you’re absent. I know you’re brass-etted. I know you’re hard to be convinced.
And I’m going to tell you things before you ever discovered them so you can know this book is true. I’m Dr. Englundstrom. This is Bibleline. If you haven’t trusted Christ, you need to. you. The Bible is never in wrong and if you die without Christ, according to the Bible you’ll spend all eternity in the lake of fire, the eternal hell. If you don’t, it’ll be the first time the Bible is ever wrong. You don’t want to gamble with that.
You need to trust Jesus Christ as the one who died and shed his blood to pay for your sins and was buried in Rosigund from the dead when you trust Him as your Savior God saves you. We’re going to hear the phone lines. We have Janet and Richmond, Virginia patiently waiting in and Janet, welcome to Bibleline You Are On The Air. Hello. Hi there. Hello, yes. My question is why do you believe in the pre-tribulation rapture and what Bible verses do you use that substantiate this because I’ve heard that this is a man-made doctrine and that the Bible never says that there will be a pre-tribulation rapture.
All right. That’s a lot of people say that and of course I would first go to 1 Thessalonians chapter 1 verse 10 where it says that we are to wait for his son from heaven which has delivered us from the wrath to come. That’s pretty plain. If the tribulation period were first, then the verse would have to read were to wait for the tribulation period and then Christ will come. But it says next event were to wait for his son from heaven which has delivered us from the wrath which is to come, which is the tribulation.
So Christ will come first and then the tribulation period and we find also in 1 Thessalonians 4 and in chapter 5. It tells us about the wonderful rapture in chapter 4 verse 16 and 17 and then it talks about in chapter 5 the tribulation period follows. In 2 Thessalonians it tells us that there will be a departure. The departure I believe is of the Holy Spirit who is hindering evil in this world and when And then he goes, we go.
And then they says the Antichrist will be revealed, the Tribulation Period will be underway. So there’s tons of verses that support the fact that we’re not going to go through the Tribulation Period at all. We’re going to be ruptured out before the judgments of the Tribulation Period report out upon the Earth. I have a 12-hour series which I’ve done on… done on the rapture and I cover all the false positions and why the Bible is clear that there is a rapture that happens before the tribulation and you might be interested in getting that serious if you want to do a serious study on it.
But thank you very much for your call. Okay. Well, that answer. Because, well, yes, I’ve just heard that this is a man-made doctrine or a man-made, you know. Well, obviously you can hear all kinds of things and depending on which group you’re listening to me and people’s witnesses say that jesus is not god or not listen to them to listen to the bible and people will say that the rapture is not in the bible and of course the english word rapture is not there but the uh…
the word rapture means caught up and and that’s in there that’s better understood by people anyway i’m glad it doesn’t use the word rapture because people probably be too lazy to look at the dictionary but if you read verse seventeen of first the saloon is for it says we which are alive in remain shall be caught up caught up caught up caught up that means rapture put it in the margin and it says to meet the Lord in the air so there is clearly a catching up of the believers and if they don’t like the word rapture they can say there’s a catching up a snatching up will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air and then from that point will forever be with the Lord.
Then chapter 5 describes the tribulation period that will follow that men who are left behind will not escape. Okay, so the first reference was first, the first ceremony in the last 10. Oh, it’s a great verse because obviously, and you’ll see many verses like that. We’re never told to wait for tribulation. We’re told to wait for Christ. So he’s first. Okay, yeah, that makes sense. Yeah. Okay. Thank you, Jan. All right. Thank you. All right. That was Janet up there in Richmond, Virginia.
By the way, you that are listening on WBDK, 1380, we’re going to go off the air there. the air there that station has been sold and the format is changing and we’re not going to be on the air. But you can hear us on WGGM 820 on the AM dial at the same time. Right now you can hear us. So get used to switching over because we’re going to go silent here at the end of the week. I think it is.
So not too many days longer and we’re going to be off the air on WBDK. But we still will be on the Richmond area on the station out of Chester WGGM 820 on the AM dial. We’re not going down to South Forta going to Richard in Fort Lauderdale. Richard will come to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Good morning, Professor. How are you today? Good. My comment has to do with what you were saying earlier about how God announces or lets us know about things before they’re discovered.
Unfortunately, I don’t have my Bible with me. I’m driving. But there is a faith in Proverbs 8 where Solomon describes the atom. He says I was describing how God created wisdom for some of his works and he says before the first Adam of dust and when he first traced the circle so that also describes the movement of the electron around the center of the Adam which wasn’t discovered before very recently. I learned from her, 8.ulet. I’ll have to take a look at that passage of fresh, but I know that the Bible definitely talks about the atom, for example, where Peter, just a fisherman, uneducated, but he describes nuclear energy in 2 Peter 3 10 when he talks about the elements cracking apart.
In 1611, the atom was the basic going block of the universe and it was on thought of that an atom could be broken down any simpler into the proton, the neutrons and the electrons and so on. And so they translated the Greek word which means to crack apart as to melt. So it says there in 2nd Peter 3.10 the King James that the elements would melt but actually the Greek word means to crack apart and it says with fervent heat and obviously that’s what happens when you have a nuclear explosion.
So Peter really describes nuclear energy being released when the atom is cracked apart and that’s Incredible the Bible is really an amazing book Because we’re only you know only in this time in history did man understand these concepts because we’re Learning about them now, but the boy back then they didn’t know and so how did Peter know that it had to be by revelation from God on. Exactly. The first time I read that I wondered how this element was automatically pulled into revelation.
Amen. It shows the marvel of God’s word. This is no doubt a book far above any other book that you could ever read or get your hands on and we need to appreciate it more. And get into it. Richard, thank you for calling. Thank you. All right. That was Richard down in Fort Lauderdale driving as we speak down the highway or on the road and calling in here. We have some of the air questions here. We have Ray in Lakeland, Florida calls in.
He says before Christ was crucified, how were people saved? And the answer is they were saved the same way we are. They simply looked forward to the coming of Christ in his death at Calvary as we looked back to that event and they trusted in Christ. You know it tells us that Abraham believed the gospel. Galatians chapter 3 verse 8. says the scripture for seeing that God would justify the nations through faith preached before the gospel under Abraham. You mean Abraham heard the gospel?
Yes. Did he believe the gospel? Yes. How is Abraham saved by faith in Christ? Wow. So there you have it. And amazingly in Galatians 3 16 it says, when God told him about that seed that would come of his lineage that would be the Messiah. It says that he wasn’t talking about multiple seeds, but seed singular and that seed was Christ. Abraham believed in Christ and that’s how Abraham was saved. So everybody has been saved the same way, but faith alone in Christ alone, the Old Testament saints look forward to it happening in the future as we look back to it happening in the past.
Christ is throughout the Old Testament. Jesus said in John’s Gospel chapter 5 in verse 46, had you believed Moses, he told his Jewish audience, had you believed Moses, who is the human writer, the first five books of the Bible, he said you to believe me, for he Moses wrote of me. Wow, so clearly Jesus said Moses wrote about me, so that’s Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Did it right on me? If you haven’t seen Jesus back there in those first five books, then you need to take a fresh look.
Because Jesus is throughout the entire Bible. And the Hebrew word is Yeshua, which in English is Jesus. So you don’t see the English word Jesus in the Old Testament. But the word Yeshua occurs over 130 times in the Old Testament. And that in English is Jesus. Jesus is there. He certainly is. They believed on Jesus and that’s how they were saved We have Joyce in Charlotteville, New York and she calls in and says we believers are referred to as the bride of Christ and She says in Revelation 21 to it clearly says she says the bride The bride can you explain?
Well if you read it carefully Charlotte and I’ve seen so many people do this they don’t read it very carefully It says in Revelation 21 verse 2, and I John saw the Holy City, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. It doesn’t say the New Jerusalem is the bride of Christ. It says the New Jerusalem sparkles, is beautiful and is prepared as a bride. How is a bride dressed? Why?
spend all day getting that bride ready. Everybody is working on her hair, her nails, and getting her dress on, and getting her makeup on. It is a big affair to get that bride ready. Well, God is preparing a place for you and me to live. That is the New Jerusalem. It will be beautiful as a bride is when she comes down that aisle. It does not say, and I am amazed all the time. I have people that don’t read the Bible carefully and they’ll say the bride of Christ is the New Jerusalem, but they don’t read their Bible very carefully.
It says prepared as a bride. Well, this is Bible I know. I think we went right by our break music here, but it’s good to be with you today and thank you again for tuning in to Bible I. And we appreciate all of our listeners and we hope that you’ll be listening every day Bibleline and if not on the error at your convenience on the internet because we are streaming 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on the internet.
Did you know that? If you haven’t tried it, you just got to try this. And now our television programs are also there. This week’s program that you can watch is about Iraq and its role in biblical prophecy. You don’t want to miss that. You’re going to be watching programming before we actually air it on television. So you get a heads up before it actually airs on television by watching us on the internet, plus you go to the archives and you can pick up the past programs.
So why not plan to do that and take advantage of that. By the way, that’s 24-7 and anywhere in the world people can watch Bible and television and listen to Bible and radio. You can download this to the Bible and you can download this to the Bible and you can download this to the Bible and teach the Bible and programs any time of day, whatever. You might be at a station that doesn’t play the full hour of Bible and there’s a few that don’t.
That’s usually because there’s somebody else that’s got a contract for that time and we’ll have to wait for that to maybe free up some time. But you can go to the internet and hear the full one hour of Bible on. Then you can do it maybe at home when you get home from work or you can do it during the middle of the night or before you go to work in the morning or whenever it’s convenient for you on the weekend.
But please take advantage of the Internet site, BibleLineMinistries.org.com. Again, I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. It’s great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning in to the Bibleline program. If you would pray for Bibleline, and maybe you might want to be a partner and help us, and assure that this program continues in your area, and that we might be able to take care of our expenses here over the summer, a gift would be appreciated. You can give a gift by credit card over the phone or get our address from our operators and they’ll show you how you can send a gift to Bible and help Bible and out.
We’re about ready to rejoin those stations that have been on break and do Bible in part too. So keep your radio dial tuned right where it is and we’ve got lots of callers and questions to go. And so stay with us! We’re going to do the second half of Bibleline right now. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr.
Hank Lindstrom. Alright, this is Bibleline. We’re through the break and Bibleline is coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios at the Calvary Community Church where I’m the pastor. We’re so excited. so excited about being able to be with you every day. And we look forward really to meeting our audience. And we had a number of people who got to meet this weekend who came by and actually visited from out of state and from other parts of the country who listened to Bible Eye and via the internet or by live broadcast.
And it’s exciting to be able to meet our listeners and know that you are being blessed by the program. And we really thank all of you who are our listeners, and especially our partners who make this program possible by their prayers and by their gifts. And maybe you’d like to help us too. We certainly could use your help over the summer, as things get a little bit leaner. By the way, we want to announce that Tuesday, we’re going to begin a new series of classes for five weeks, two hours per day, seven till nine.
We will have a class on 1st and 2nd Pissedellons 8 chapters. These are two exciting books and we just quoted from them a little bit ago on the question that was asked about the Rapture. Is it a pre-trip Rapture? And is that a man-made doctrine? What does the Bible say? And it’s a great book. It’s a wonderful book to turn to for answers about so many topics covering everything from salvation, the Christian life, our responsibilities and the Christian life.
The rapture, the tribulation period that follows the rise of Antichrist, the third temple, it will be rebuilt in Jerusalem we believe soon. The second coming of Christ and so many doctrines and how to live in view of the return of Jesus Christ. We are excited. If you are not in driving business, you can order the CD series of 10 hours of teaching. We will do over the next 5 weeks. Beginning That’s tomorrow night. If you’re in driving distance, hey, come on over and be in the classroom.
And don’t let money be enough to go. If you don’t have the money for it, please don’t even be embarrassed. Just come in and just say, I can’t afford it and you’re in. But if you can, we’re asking for a gift of $50, which will help defray some of the Bible on expenses we have. As during the summer, we certainly could use the extra help. If you’re listening, that would be great. great. If you can’t come and you live in another city, you can order the CD series as we’ll be recording that.
It will turn out the quality is such that you’ll feel like you’re right there in the classroom and you’ll want to get in on that. But nothing like being in the classroom and the excitement of everybody together, learning and turning the pages of the Bible together, we’re going to have fun. In any case, keep that in mind. Also, if you’re Here in the Tampa Bay area on the third Sunday of the month, which is this coming Sunday, we’ll have a dinner and we’d love to have you take advantage of that.
We’re also beginning our vacation Bible school this coming Monday in the mornings from 8 till noon. It’s free and if you have small children up through junior high, you’re welcome to bring them and we don’t charge a thing but they’ll have a wonderful, wonderful experience in vacation Bible School camp here at the Calvary Community Church in Tampa and they’re going to learn a lot of Bible. Our people are dedicated to make sure that every child leaves knowing Christ is Savior and is growing in their knowledge of Christ and we’re excited about all of that.
So pray for us as we go through the summer here and try to take advantage of the opportunity to reach boys and girls and we just finished the summer camp last month and we’ve got other things planned for reaching boys and girls and teenagers with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Well, we’re going to go back to the phone lines and also try to get back and answer some of the questions. By the way, Joyce in Charlottesville, New York also said, ”Explain fasting.
Fasting is, of course, no secret deal here. I mean, we all fast every day whether you realize it or not. When you go to bed at night, you don’t eat through the whole night. What is your first meal in the morning called? Break fast. Breakfast. Breakfast means you break the fast of not eating throughout the whole night. Everybody is faster. Everybody does fasting. I don’t eat continually through the night. When I go to sleep, I don’t eat again until morning.
My first meal, I break the fast with my breakfast in the morning. I love breakfast. Well guess what? When you fast, your mind is clear because when you eat all of your blood and your whole body goes into action to digest your food and so your mind gets a little dull. You sometimes get a little bit sleepy. Can you have any recollection of what happened at Thanksgiving when you ate too much turkey and gravy and dressing and all those good things that they had and pie?
Does everybody want to kind of mellow out and take a nap after at Thanksgiving dinner? That’s what happens. So basically the Bible is saying when you are trying to discern God’s will and when you’re praying and when you’re really trying to get in touch with God, you don’t want your mind dull and so you fast. I learned it in college before I ever learned it from the Bible. I learned that if I ate before a big exam in college I would do poorly.
So I always would eat at least three hours before any major exam in the University of Florida. And I found that that was very successful. And I carried that through my whole ministry even so I usually don’t ever eat shortly before I preach or before I go on the air because I’ll be yawning and sleeping during my radio show or during my morning message at the Calvary Community Church. And so I practice fasting all the time. I eat early enough so that my mind is clear by the time I have to be clear when I’m presenting God’s Word or when I’m praying or when I’m searching out what God would have me to learn.
I don’t like to read the Bible or study the Bible on a full stomach because again I get sleepy and I just can’t concentrate. So it’s better to do it on an empty stomach and then you’re alert and your mind is clear. So fasting is basically a wonderful revelation about our bodies that allows you to be more spiritually sharp. And that’s what the Bible talks about when you fast. But if there’s no magic about it, it’s just simply recognizing how our body works.
We’re going to Nancy in Lake Worth, Florida. Nancy, welcome to Bible Life. Good morning, Dr. Hank. It’s so good to hear you sound so strong again. I’m getting stronger every day. And it was the time there when every I couldn’t listen to your voice might would make my knees weak I hate for you, but there’s two quick things I wanted to cover last week You mentioned something about a lot of these cults are vegetarians. Yes, and what you were just speaking about Making your mind clear.
There’s a difference between a clear mind and malnutrition There’s a lot of secret vegetarians are suffering from malnutrition which leads to to seeing things, hearing things, a lot of willpower and things like that. That’s very interesting in that. I think that’s why the cults take advantage of that because it makes them more susceptible to whatever they’re teaching them. Exactly. But the other thing I wanted to mainly call about was I was able to catch a television show a couple of weeks ago and I saw you doing something on the screen which totally goes against every single way I was raised, you wrote in your Bible.
So underlined things you put yellow highlighter on it and my grandmother is rolling. We were allowed to make little pencil brackets, make a quick little pencil note in the margin and use the blank pages in the back. I was raised the same way. In our home, boy, you didn’t, the Bible’s like a, I guess, like a magic charm in the home and we would keep it out conspicuous but we wouldn’t be allowed to put anything on top of it.
We wouldn’t allow anything to disturb it. That’s right. And yet it’s really our workbook. If we read the Bible I think God would be much more pleased if we were out two or three of these Bibles by marking them up and using them than to keep it pristine by never looking at it. I never thought of it that way. Yeah. So I encourage people to wear them out. See how many of you were out in the lifetime. Oh, that’s fun.
Well, that’s great. OK, I’ll keep that in mind. OK. Thank you very much. Thank you for calling. That was Nancy in Lake Worth, Florida. Yeah, I had to really overcome that myself, because my family, boy, they had been the church I was raised in. You didn’t put a mark in the Bible at all. And so if you’ve seen my Bible on the TV show, it’s well marked up. In fact, some people have thought it was a Dead Sea scroll because it’s all marked up.
We’re going to George and Palm Beach Gardens and George. Welcome to Bibleline your own here. Good morning. Thank you. Oh, I guess I’ve virtually destroyed my Bible, I guess, but marking it up. I have a question on… Numbers chapter 12 verse 1 where it says, and Maryam and Aaron’s take against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman he had married. If I read this correctly, it was married to a black woman, and it refers back to the song of Solomon.
What is it? Yeah. except the one verse five where whoever that is, the brah. the bride says I am black. So I’m assuming here that that word I think in the Hebrew means dark under sunburned, but it could be absolutely black and the interesting thing is about the woman that he married was she was not a very spiritual woman and I think that might have been part of the problem as well as they recognize that about her. You know when Moses wanted to circumcise his children by her she refused to let him do that.
Oh yes, yes. And as a result, God almost killed Moses because he didn’t circumcise his sons and God stopped him in the way and had a sword out with the angel there to kill him. And then Zapora knew what was going on there, so she took a sharp stone and circumcised the sons right there on the spot and spared Moses’ life. But it’s an interesting story about she and not a spiritual woman. After that incident, we don’t really read anything more about her.
she kind of disappears off the scene although she may have been around there’s another uh… that says moses son koish which translates according to my bible to black and Hebrew so the negro tribe in Ethiopia and it says it’s grand son moses grand son pushes son son of ham moses son and koish well you know they’re they’re black father they’re black jews today a lot of the Ethiopian Jews, they had what they called Operation Moses, a number of years back where a lot of Jews in Ethiopia were in nature their lives and they went in and flew out, I think 20,000 black Jews back to the state of Israel and so they really have quite a wide variety of skin colors and skin textures.
I know that in Israel I was sitting at the Sea of Galilee with my wife and our guests and they were on the trip with me and my guide was there and I said look at the different faces. There was kind of like one of these Israeli folk dances and they were a big long string of people with their clap in their hands and you know back and forth and it was a fun event but I said look at how many different faces I see out there and my guy said well there’s probably 80 countries represented out there and it just got goosebumps because the Bible said they would come back from all over the world and we really see the multi-cultural aspect of the Jewish people as they’ve been dispersed and have intermarried and are now coming back into their land.
So you think that the Israelites have come back? I do. I think this is the return that the Bible speaks about. Isaiah said, well, Jeremiah in chapter 30 is very clear. He says in verse 3, I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers and they shall possess it. And he tells us that that would be after a two thousand year dispersion. So we’re clearly living in that time when obviously in 1948 Israel declared its independence.
And this is quite a miracle because no people have ever survived without their homeland, up for the Jewish people and now they’re back in that very land that they lived in thousands of years ago and are there in an anticipation I believe of the return of Jesus. We’re getting close. Weren’t they promised everything from the Nile to the Euphrates? Well they’re going to get it. You know when Jesus comes at the Second Coming he’s going to destroy every unbeliever on the earth and guess what all those people between the the and they are really i don’t think that it was the lord there’s a stubborn in their unbelief they claim that we’re the infidels so god is going to destroy the ball so that land will become vacated according to profit mike a chapter four all that land and all their spoils all that oil
will become israel’s and israel become the uh… richest nation in the head nation on the earth during the millennium yes they’re going to get it all it’s going to be okay thanks enough a lot and thank you for calling in Alright, we have Harold in… Hollywood, Florida. We don’t usually get a call from Harold on Monday, but Harold, good to hear from you. Well, that magnetic voice I have to listen to. Well, thank you. It’s good to hear your voice.
Well, I tell you, when I’m home now, I’m going to be going to my office in a half a day, but when I’m not, I do take your shows. And I, I heard several remarks. I don’t want to waste your time, you know, when I have, I know the believers are going to be on. I’m still an atheist. And by the way, I’m a white Jewish atheist. All right. But I heard I wanted to tell you, get, tell me, straight me out on this, that you said in your quote, you ask many questions.
I have that on tape. As a young believer, you mean about, yeah, I certainly had my questions. In fact, as a young believer, I wanted to know, am I wasting my time? Is this for real? I remember one of the first books I bought, Harold, was a book called Arsenal for Skeptics. I wanted to see the worst things that could be said against the Bible. And I found out that it was really a pretty shallow. It was mostly an attack upon things that had been done in the name of Christianity that were unchristian-like.
And I had to agree with the book on that, but I certainly didn’t see anything that they I brought up concerning the scriptures that caused me any concern at all. They would just add a chapter on so-called contradictions, but they were easily resolved. And I thought the book was shallow in that area. But I had to agree that there were a lot of things done down through the past 2000 years in the name of Christianity that I’m embarrassed about and that I’m associated with.
You know, just like what you talk about when you talk about these people that are fleecing the listeners in these different ministries, I’m embarrassed to be sometimes thrown into the same category as those people because we’re so. The Feeding Broadcast Network. And it’s a fact. But I do ask questions. And this morning I heard you talk about the Bible. So I wanted to ask you this question. Who edited the Bible and how is it compiled? Excellent question. Well the answer is that God is the author and the editor of the Bible and each book, as it was written, was written by an authentic spokesperson for God, like for example Moses.
As you read through the first five books of the Bible, it’s clear that Moses is quoting God throughout, and this is what God told him to put down. And each of those books were accepted immediately as being the inspired Word of God. And he got even, had him build a piece of furniture to hold or contain the scriptures called the Ark of the Covenant. And then each successive of Prophet, their writings were accepted as a scripture as they wrote them and were added to what we call the Canon of scripture which is from the Latin word meaning a rule or standard for what should be in the Bible and what should not.
And so each book was collected as it was written and the same as through the New Testament, the apostles were the writers and they were authentic spokesperson for God. people believed that what they were saying was from God. So each of those books were collected together, but no committee ever really sat together to decide which books would stay and which books would go. It was basically commonly accepted by those to whom these prophets and apostles wrote to as they were God’s Word and they were collected and recognized to be so.
And all the councils that came along from the council of Nicaea, which Constantine brought together, affirmed that what books were in the Bible, the 39 of the old that the Jewish people hadn’t accepted and the 27 of the new were indeed the Word of God. And there was a few books that were disputed, but nobody ever tossed anything out or added anything more to it. That is basically how it happened. Well, Dr. Hink, I knew that you were going to give me the answer.
Now the other question that I have, you mentioned Ethelonia, is that I’m pronouncing it right? Thessalonians. That’s okay. Thessalonians, it’s written to the people at Thessalonica, which is still a major city in Greece today, in northern Greece. They have about 300,000 people today. In the time of Paul, though, 2,000 years ago, there was about 200,000, so it was quite a significant city for that time. Okay, question. And I’m not good at this, but I know you’re the best. ravaged the lonius to 14 and 15.
Okay. Tell me if I read that right. All right, we’re in first or second. The Solonius. There’s two books. Well, two, 14 and 15. Oh, two. Chapter two. 14 and 15. I’m almost there. We’ll find it here. You Is this the one about where unto your called or is this the second book? Well, the three words I put in down with you, the Jews killed right here. Oh yeah, okay. I see where you’re at. In first Thessalonians 2, it says here, you brethren, became followers of the Church of God, which in Judea are in Christ Jesus, for you also have suffered the things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews.
So basically Christians were persecuted wherever they were persecuted in Greece as the Christians were in Jerusalem. But then it talks here about the Jews who killed the Lord Jesus Christ and their own prophets and they persecuted us. Did the Jews kill Christ? Well, everybody did. But in this particular instance, yes they did. Okay. Okay. I want to confirm what I’m hearing. All right, Dr. Hank, I don’t want to take up all your time. I have all kinds of things I want to ask you, but just one little funny part, you know, one person last week was talking about a bumper sticker about serving Christ because he’s a liberal or something like that.
I didn’t understand that, but go ahead. Okay, here’s one. Bumper sticker, true. Jesus saves Moses invests. All right. Okay. Thanks a lot, Harold. Thank you, sir. okay thanks a lot thank you sir and by the way i am heading out to uh… send you a uh… money order dynamite and i hope everybody copies my thought and what i’m doing well dynamite that’ll help us especially during the summer here take care all right now and uh… show them that was held down in south florida and uh…
obviously uh… we’re all responsible for the death of christ because he died for all of us and and the jews of course from them to take in the total wrap but that is not really what the Bible teaches. Alright, we’re going to go again to George. In Palm Beach Gardens, George, welcome to Bibleline. This is Wilborn in Richmond. What do you know Wilborn in Richmond? I’m glad we somehow got you confused. But with somebody else. I’m glad to have you.
Wilborn. Richmond, Virginia. Yeah, that’s OK. God is in control. Well, that’s for sure. Because when I pushed the button, I thought I was going to South Florida and here I went all the way to Richmond, Virginia. I’m glad to have you on board. Yes. First of all, I want to thank Harold for calling because I always love to hear him call and I know he says he’s an unbeliever and he’s a lot of times when I mentioned he’s where he’s wasting the time from the believers and believe it or not, Harold, you’re blessing the believers by your questions.
And so we get a windfall from your intelligent questions and I’m sure the angels in heaven are waiting to have some type of celebration when you finally choose salvation so that you can rely on not your own strength through life but through your strength and the strength of the Holy Spirit which is the most powerful strength of person. Not like people say, a lot of people say being a Christian is not true. Christian is just to… Well, we recognize our need because we are all in need of the Lord.
People need God. made in design so that we really can’t live without him and we just need to find him before it’s too late. And you’re absolutely right. I fully agree with that Harold definitely asked some really great questions that I think benefit all of us. Do you have a question today Wilburner? Yes I do. I like to wear a small and it’s an inexpensive necklace so that I belong to Jesus. I know some people are offended about a cross and you have also spoken before about engraving images.
I’m just wondering, I believe I know the answer, but I thought it would be a good question. Is there anything wrong? I don’t see a problem with that unless you begin to give it special significance. If it becomes an idol to you, some people I think watch too many Dracula movies and they think that that thing has power and they can hold it up and the devils will run from the cross and that’s not true. It’s not true. But sometimes people are getting trouble and they reach up and grab their cross-run their neck.
And I think that’s then putting undue significance to it. I think it’s a beautiful way of maybe relating to somebody else at your believer, but unless you make it an idol, which could easily happen, so you just need to be careful that you don’t do that. Thank you for calling and that was Wilburn in Richmond, Virginia. Don’t forget we have classes beginning tomorrow night. If you’re in the Tampa Bay area, drive in and be a member of my class.
