Well whenever the true gospel is given there are usually two basic objections. If a witness does not know how to deal with these objections the result will often be that the person being witnessed to will not trust Jesus Christ as their Savior. In other words, Gospel means good news and the Gospel of Jesus Christ is truly good news. Romans 1, verse 16 says, For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believe it.

To the Jew first and to the Greek. Ephesians 2 says, By grace, by mercy, Are you saved through faith in Jesus Christ and And that none of yourselves is the gift of God not of works, lest any man should boast. The first objection to the true gospel is usually, I can’t believe that, because that’s too simple. Well, it’s the simplicity of the true gospel that has been a stumbling block to many down through the centuries. It seems that man in his pride always wants to add something to the finished work of Christ.

Israel stumbled because it was too simple. In Romans we read that Israel did not attain to the righteousness required in her heaven, that is the righteousness of God. The question is asked why? In Romans 9.32. And it says, wherefore, because they sought it, not by faith, but where by the works of the law. They stumbled at that stumbling stone as it is written, behold I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and a rock of offense and whosoever believe it on him shall not be ashamed.

It was too simple, and so the Jews wanted to add works, and therefore they did not attain to the righteousness which comes by faith in Jesus Christ as Savior. You see, Jesus paid it all, and Jesus therefore became a stumbling block to them. They didn’t seek salvation by faith, but by the works of the law. Newton uses that fact that the gospel is simple to prevent people from trusting Jesus Christ as their only hope of reaching heaven. Notice how it tells us in 2 Corinthians 11-3.

Here I am going to quote from 2 Corinthians 11-3 and it says that I fear less by any means as the serpent begowed Eve through his subtlety so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. From the simplicity that is in Christ. In other words, it is the simplicity of the message of Jesus Christ that Satan uses to corrupt the mind of the unbeliever to think that works a change in behavior, obedience, or change in lifestyle will bring about salvation.

When the Bible says salvation is in Ephesians 2, 9, not of works, lest any man should boast or brag. It is saying that no works, whether good or bad, have anything to do with salvation. It is by grace that you are saved through faith, Ephesians 2-8. The second objection is often stated, I can’t accept that, because that would mean I could live as I please. It’s still good of heaven. Well, you know, it is true that the moment a person puts your trust in Jesus Christ as Savior, that they’re saved forever.

Jesus promised that he would never cast the sound or lose anyone once they become saved. John 637, John 639. But it is not true that you can live with you please, even though you’ll never be lost. A disobedient believer will incur the chasing or discipline of God and the Father will discipline that The liquid believer and the believer can lose his joy, lose his power, lose his effectiveness, lose his testimony, lose his rewards, but he cannot lose his salvation.

Salvation was purchased by the sacrifice of Christ alone, and his blood alone can cleanse our sin and provide for us salvation. The Christian life is dependent upon the sacrifice of self, but salvation is dependent upon the sacrifice of Christ alone at the cross. In other words, we become a child of God by the new birth at the moment we trust Christ as our Savior. We will never be any more saved than at that moment. In other words, at the moment a person is saved, he’s totally completely and forever saved.

God becomes our Father, we become his child at that very moment that we trust Christ. The unsaved person has God as Creator, but not as his Father, and as our Father God deals with us differently than he does with the lost. We become his children, and he does discipline the delinquent believers. 1 Corinthians 11-32 says, when we believers are judged, we are chastened or disciplined of the Lord that we should not be condemned with the world, the unbelievers. And he tells us how many of the Krinthian believers were disciplined because of their disobedience to the Lord.

If you’re a believer, my friend, you cannot leave as you please because the Lord will discipline you. And obviously, every believer is therefore a child of God and will be disciplined if they’re delinquent. So the two objections are quite simple. One is too simple, and that of course is the truth about the gospel. It is simple and Satan would cause you to stumble because of that. Well, we’re going to go to Tony in Plant City. I’m Dr. Anglinson. This is Bibleline.

We’ve got people waiting on the line and we’ve got all fair callers and we’re going to try to take them. The number here is 1-800-576-3771 and we’re going to Tony in Plant City. Tony, welcome to Bibleline. You are on the air. Good morning Hank. How are you? Good. And I need your help and I’m dealing with baptism and stuff like that. I really just wanted you to talk about that for a little bit this morning and give me something.

I can go back You know back home tonight and get on the computer and research, you know, you know No, all right. We’ll take that They’ve rejected the gospel that I’ve given them and I’m dealing with two entire families and I don’t want to give up on them and you know, I know what they believe and I’m now I’ve got to start don’t really know where to begin. Okay. We’ll take tackle that for you, Tony Tony and Plant City.

By the way, on the internet I have several pages or papers written about baptism if you go into Dr. Lindstrom’s articles and read and download those. Also I believe in our archives on our website for radio we have a CD there on baptism that’s available for to listen to and also you could of course order my CD on 10 baptisms, two Sunday messages that we combined together where I covered the 10 baptisms taught in the New Testament. Well obviously if you believe in baptism for salvation you are not trusting Christ alone and therefore you really are in danger of not being saved because you are not really trusting Christ alone is the only hope of your salvation.

Water baptism is a work. baptism is something that a Christian does as a testimony of their faith once they have become saved. Jesus in fact obviously says that salvation is a work in Matthew 3.15 where he told John that allow us to do this work of righteousness here that we might fulfill Thank you. Thank you. I’m so glad we’re here with you. All right, and we’ll see you next time. I’ll see you later soon. Everyone have a little bit of time.

I can’t really tell you what. And go through this before you. Okay. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. And. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. See you guys later. Bye bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. The Old Testament type, which was the priest in the Old Testament when he was 30 years of age, was consecrated to the ministry by being baptized by total immersion once, only once in their lifetime. And guess what? Jesus was 30 years of age when John baptized him.

It was a total immersion in the Jordan River and that marked the beginning of the ministry of Christ. Certainly Christ didn’t have to be water baptized to be saved, but this was the marking of his ministry. history. And obviously, what a baptism doesn’t save. 1 Corinthians 1, 14, I love it, because Paul said because of the division, caused over who baptized who in Corinth, Paul says, I thank God that I’ve baptized none of you. Now, if it were a requirement for salvation, Paul would actually be saying, I thank God that none of you are saved.

Obviously, we You can never imagine that because Paul really loved the lost and one of them to be saved very badly. And so he says, I thank God that I baptized none of you. Then verse 17 is quite remarkable. 1 Corinthians 1, 17 says Christ sent me not to baptize but to preach the gospel. So the gospel is a message that excludes water baptism or Paul could not have said that. So if water baptism were part of the gospel, he could never have said Christ sent me not to baptize, but he sent me to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

It is the gospel message that saves, and when you simply trust Christ, you become saved. But the Lutherans usually believe in infant baptism, which is something that Martin Luther should have cleaned up back there at the time of the Reformation, but it was carried over from Catholicism. And there is no such thing as infant baptism in the Bible. They cannot demonstrate it to you. It cannot be found, it just doesn’t happen. And obviously that is a doctrinal error. Baptism, as for the believer is described in Acts 8, where you have the Ethiopian eunuch saved and they come to a body of water, he asks the question, what does hinder me from being baptized?

And Paul says, if you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Savior, then you may, He confessed there that he trusted Christ and that Christ was the Son of God. They both Philip and the Iniquet down into the body of water and baptized him by immersion. Then they both came up out of the waters and they parted their ways. By the way, if you have the NIV, Acts 837 that talks about what you must do to be qualified to be baptized by water as a believer, that is your confession of faith that Christ is the Savior, the Son of God is gone.

It’s just gone. It’s not there. There are 44 verses dropped in their entirety and it’s kind of shocking. You know the devil is a clever devil. There’s only two ways that he can attack the word of God. That’s by addition and subtraction. You see that in Revelation chapter 22 in verses 18 and 19 that there’s a warning to those that would add or to those that would subtract. But you know, if you add a lot of people who read the Bible would perhaps catch the tradition, but a more subtle way is by subtraction.

If you leave things out of the Bible, you’re less likely to recognize that they’re missing. And guess what? Most of the modern translations you have, the amount of deletions amount over 5,000, and it’s scary. How many times the blood is just omitted. And how many times the name of Christ is omitted? How many times they manipulate and drop words and the NIV drops 44 verses in their entirety. And you’re less likely to discover that because it’s easier to pick up on something they add than it is something that they subtract.

Instead of devils, a clever devil really attacking the Bible today. We have the New Age Bible Version book about almost 800 pages that will just really blow your socks off when you read about the well about 20 of the most modern translations out there and what they have done to the Word of God. We’re gonna go off here now to Curtis in Tampa. Curtis calls in and says that Adam and Eve have sex before the fall. The answer is no.

After they were kicked out of the garden then it says Adam knew his wife Eve and she conceived. Now the word no there is to have to know her in a sexual way. And so notice the result of that sexual act in chapter 4 of Genesis verse 1 Eve conceived and we believe because there’s only one conception mentioned that Adam and Eve had twins that Cain and Abel were actually twins. And so there was one conception and two births and Cain and Abel were twins and that was when they had sex Genesis 4.1.

after they were kicked out of the garden after the fall. Curtis, good question. And obviously one that doesn’t get asked too often but hopefully that answers it for you. We have Mary Lou calling in from Kansas City, Kansas. We’re on the air in Kansas City and boy it’s nice to hear from you Mary Lou. She says, what is your biblical thought on massage, acupuncture, alternate medicine healing? You know, I think I think that if it works then fine. We’re not too familiar in this country with acupuncture because that’s something from the Far East.

But apparently people get relief and certainly the Bible talks about when you’re sick to go to the doctor. And there are many today though that talk about you don’t need to go to any doctor and sometimes when that happens they die. I’ll never forget I had a young friend when I was just 15 years of age. I had a paper route down in Miami, Florida and my 15 year old friend had diabetes and his parents were Christian science and they didn’t believe in going to the doctor.

And so my friend went into a diabetic coma and died and I believed the Christian science religion murdered him. And that was awful. That was awful and I never forgotten it. But you know the wonderful thing was that later his mom and dad, because they were so hurt and began to search, they found Christ the Savior and became saved about the time that I became saved when I was 18. But I’ve never forgotten the fact that they would not take him to the doctor.

There are many groups that preach healing like the Christian scientists and others. I don’t know if you realize how much the Christian scientists focus on healing. Mary Baker Eddy, who is the founder of the Christian Science for Religion, wrote the book called Key to the Scriptures in Science and Health, and she talks about how there is no such thing as sickness, there is no such thing as disease, there is no such thing as death. These are all illusions in your mind, and so therefore your thinking is wrong, and all you have to do is go to a Christian science practitioner and they’ll readjust your thinking and so when you’re sick you just think you’re sick and of course I guess when you die you just think you’re dead but there’s some crazy stuff out there and obviously there’s a lot that we watch on television which

I think is a counterfeit movement of healing but I think the good of your doctors find if you find relief from we know that chiropractors bring a lot of relief and I I understand from many the acupuncture really does help and so if you get relief from that wonderful Give it a try Luke by the way who wrote two books in the New Testament was a physician. Did you know that dr. Luke author? human writer of the book of Luke the gospel Luke and the book of acts and he was a Docker and Certainly the Bible says and Jesus said it himself if you’re sick then you need a physician but if you’re well then you don’t need one and that’s kind of the way it goes.

Alright we have Joel in Clearwater calling in and says have you heard of Christian heathenism by John Piper? No I haven’t read the book and so I don’t really know what he’s talking about but I don’t doubt that we have heathenism creeping into not only America but in even Christianity. By the way along that line look at how many Christians today along with the world are putting tattoos on your body did you know in the old testament says that you’re not to print any marks on your body that’s right is forbidden to print any marks on your body and so if you’re a believer it’s like putting graffiti on a house or on a on a building downtown god doesn’t want you to put graffiti on your body and you’re not also uh…

to make any cuttings in your body so if you’re a believer this is something that were forbidden to do But look at what has happened our culture now is including paganism or Hethanism in our society and certainly it’s crept even into the church. Well the verses back here in Leviticus chapter 19 verse 28 It says you shall not make any cuttings in your flesh And it also says you’re not to print any marks upon you and God says I am the Lord The Lord is the one that makes that decision.

So, if you already have a tattoo, obviously you’re kind of stuck. But if you haven’t, this is preventative. You’re not to print marks on your body and you’re not to cut your flesh. So, that’s a good warning. That’s Leviticus 19-28. Thank you for the question, but certainly we’re becoming more heathen-like, aren’t we? I remember as a boy we just saw the ones in the jungle in the National Geographic magazines having all the body cuttings and the tattoos and marks on their body.

But now you just go into the mall and we see our teens marking their bodies up and tattoos today are becoming popular. It’s a part of the heathenism I believe it’s creeping into America. Paul and Sarasota just called in and he said, In Job, Job was protected. You are talking about Job, Chapter 33, where it talks about the lost. If they seek the Lord, God will keep them safe through war, disease, battle, or whatever, until they can hear the Gospel message.

So if you’re a seeking loss person, God won’t let you die until you get the message. I showed chapter 23, 33 rather. Paul, I hope you can look that one up. I’m Dr. Englinschroom. This is Bibleline. We’re coming up on our break time. By the way, tomorrow is our television day. You can catch us tomorrow morning at 7 a.m. on the dish on Angel 1 on Sky Angel. You can catch us at 8 o’clock in the morning on more television, Channel 32 here in the Tampa Bay area at 630 on direct TV nationwide on Channel 321 on World Harvest Television and then all of the west coast of Florida here from Fort Myers to Crystal River over to Orlando.

You can catch us at 7 o’clock on WLCF or the Christian Television Network. That’s tomorrow night at 7. So watch for our television programs and of course our TV and radio are streamed and you can watch them on our website 24 hours a day. Gotta run and keep looking up as we go to break and we’ll be back in just a minute to do Bible in Part 2. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771.

That’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. Englund, and it’s great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning in, and we appreciate all of you that are our listeners. And thank you for praying for us. We know that some people really deeply appreciate this program. In fact, a lot of folks do talk to a couple people on the phone in the past couple of days and told me that I have awakened things in them from God’s Word that just have totally changed their lives.

And we are excited because when a person hears the gospel and gets saved, that is the most momentous decision they will ever make in their life. And then when you make that second choice after you are saved to live for Christ and get in on the blessings and rewards that God offers, that is even a second spectacular decision you make. But the most important one is that of getting saved. I hope you are saved as you listen right now and that if you have entrusted Christ that you would do it right now.

Just tell the Lord, Lord I am a sinner. We all are. But I trust Jesus Christ right now as my only hope of heaven, and believing that He died and shed His blood to pay for my sin debt and full was buried and rose again from the head. The moment you trust Him, God saves you and then make that second choice to live for Him. Would you consider praying for Bibleline? We need lots of prayer partners that would pray for this program.

We also would like to ask you to consider to help us with support. Maybe you could give a gift to Bible and we are totally supported by our listeners. I don’t get paid, our staff doesn’t get paid. We don’t have a piggy bank, we don’t have a reserve account. We are totally dependent upon our listeners. If our listeners stopped giving, we would be immediately off the air because we don’t have any other resources. There’s nobody underwriting the program. We don’t have pledges.

We don’t have subscribers. We have simply gone, and the Lord is supplying through people like you who enjoy the program and want to be a part of it. You can give a gift by the way by credit card over the phone. Call our operators and they’ll tell you how you can do that, or then we’ll recite the address for you so you can send it by mail, or if you ask for it, they can send you an envelope with our address already printed on it.

So in any case, consider being a Bibleline partner and helping us with a monthly gift to keep Bibleline on the air. Your gift is greatly appreciated and also here during the summer greatly needed. We just had a lightning strike that took out a lot of our equipment and that was quite expensive I guess around $50 million total to take care of all that need that we weren’t expecting. And so that was like a little hit there that we had to take and you could really help us maybe clear up those expenses related to the lightning strike on our radio equipment.

And help us to get back. Everything working like it should. We’re going to do Bibleline Part 2 right now, so keep your radio dial tuned right where it is, and we’re going to be right back and do the second half of Bibleline. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back from that break and this is timeline.

It’s wonderful to be able to be with you. This is Wednesday and tomorrow is our television day. You can catch our programs throughout the day, beginning at 7 o’clock on the Dish Network on Angel One on Sky Angel Nationwide at 8 o’clock in the Tampa Bay Area on more television, Channel 32 on cable, I believe it’s Channel 12. If you have the direct TV satellite, you can then get our program 630. That’s nationwide at 630 on World Harvest Television as channel 3-2-1.

So you’re welcome to watch those programs. Then at 7 o’clock, we’re on, of course, in the Tampa Bay area and all across the West Coast of Florida on cable. that’s on WLCF or CTN, the Christian television network here on the West Coast of Florida. But now take note that we are now on the internet streaming our television programs 24 hours a day. Boy, that’s been a blessing. A lot of people are really excited and we’re reaching into places with our internet now where we don’t have a radio broadcast and that is exciting.

We are on all over the world. 140 countries have logged in so far. Some of the latest ones are Albania, their northwest of Greece, Ecuador, down there on the equator in South America, the Samoa Islands and the Pacific Ocean. We also have the Cook Islands, the Macaw Islands, and we’re all over the Pacific and Asia. It’s amazing to me all over Africa. We are excited about what God is doing through Bible and as we are broadcasting on a station in Honduras and reaching that country with the Gospel of Christ.

Our Bible and television program is aired in Mongolia. Isn’t that incredible? Well, I don’t know how to explain it except God is doing that through listeners and people who pray for and give the Bible and to make it possible for us to accomplish that. I don’t get paid nor does our staff. We are probably the best bargain for the amount of money you invest as to how it is bringing about spiritual results than any outfit I know because we don’t have any overhead.

We don’t have any salaries. All we have is radio costs which are expensive and satellite costs and phone line costs and equipment costs and things like that. But otherwise, when you give a gift, it’s going right there to get this message out to the world. And so perhaps maybe you’d like to give a gift to Bible. You can send that by mail. You can also call in on our 800 number and give it by credit card. You can give by going to the website to our online bookstore.

There’s a place there where you can give to Bible and. In any case, thank you in advance for your gifts to Bible and. We’re going to go to the phone lines if you want to dial us up. It’s 1-800-576-3771. Well we’re going to take some off air calls. We have Levita in Lake Worth. She says, what other Bible than the King James? Can you hand out to people? People are afraid of the King James saying it’s too hard to read.

Let me just tell you to challenge them, Levita, and tell them that the King James is written at a fifth or sixth grade level and ask them are you having difficulty reading at the fifth and sixth grade level? Most of them just shut their mouth from that point on. Did you know that most all of the other translations that claim to be so easy to read are at least two, three, four, five degrees of or levels of grade difficulty than the King James?

That’s right. The problem that King James gives some people at the beginning is the these and those. But as I just was speaking to a brand new believer this past week, he said he always had trouble with the Bible, but then he got saved. He said, you know, these and thou’s have melted away in the past four months and I don’t even slow down when I see them now. He understands what they mean. And so it’s not that difficult.

It really isn’t. It is a very, it’s really simple. And I lead people to Christ all the time and get them into a King James and they just do fine. And of course we recommend the old so-field reference Bible in the King James edition, which if you go to your books though, they probably won’t even have to be in the book. And I’m not going to be in the book. have it. That’s right. They’re marketing the new skill field or the hybrid of the new and old combined together and I believe they’re terrible.

It’s not, you know, that you should take it out and burn it on a trash pile, but the old skill field is certainly superior to the new ones. Well, we’re going to go to the phone lines. The number is 1-800-576-3771. We have Greg and Lakeland, Florida and Greg, welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Thanks, Dr. M. Good question. Have you done a series? Yeah, I’m about to Matthew. It’s been a while. So that is something that we could do again because it’s been years and years since I taught the book of Matthew in a series.

Are you giving me a suggestion for this fall? No, no, it would be a suggestion. I do believe that we do have Matthew on CD though. you want to get get it when i thought it a number of years ago is that it’s been six or eight years all i’ll have to do that because it’s a little bit of a cold question that people have from the gospels come up with a map here i’ve got a question for you regarding that um…

matthew truck after twenty five i understand the parable but the ten virgins um… skill field gives a real good you know uh… explanation that he gives explanation for the other two you know he talks about the judgment of jenn pylen nation or i guess where it says the Lord’s return test the Gentile Nations, and also the Lord’s return test the servants. I tell you about the servants, I’m too talented to one talent. I’m not even interested about that, but the more I read it, the less I understand, because it sounds like this guy, the one talent, is, would be a Christian because he’s a servant, but then you look at the last verse down there, and verse 30, he says he’s cast matter of darkness, and then, and then think about the Gentile Nations.

It sounds like that these people are going into hell because of what they did and did not do. And that’s kind of the way David Jeremiah explained. He said that they’re not justified by their work, but it doesn’t seem to be compatible with the gospel. Okay. Well, you’re, I guess, some good questions there. Actually in the parable of the talents there, there are three different guys. One is given five talents and one is given two or three, and the last one is given one.

And the last one though is described as wicked. And whenever you see the word wicked in the Bible, it’s referred to somebody who’s an unbeliever because their best righteous deeds are filled with rags and are considered wickedness in God’s sight. But the other two are called good, you might notice. Now the Bible says in Romans 3 and 12, there’s none that doeth good, no not one. So how can anybody be called good? Well the answer is if they trust Christ, the goodness or righteousness of God is credited to their account and they are seen by God as being good.

But unless you trust Christ you are considered to be wicked. So the first two are saved and the last one is lost and that is why he is cast in naught or darkness. You will also notice there is something else that says the first one he says is a good and faithful servant. So he was not only saved as he’s called good. Also, Matthew 19, Christ said to the rich young ruler, why did you call me good? There’s been good but one and that is God.

So obviously this man didn’t realize that only God is good. Everybody else is wicked but once you trust Christ you’re considered good. But then notice he was also faithful. Well, he was allowed to enter into heaven because he was good. But then he says he would be made ruler over many things and that was a reward for being faithful. So there are two doctrines going on there, the doctrine of salvation, which salvation is by faith and a person is declared righteous or good when they trust Christ based upon his substitution of death at the cross.

But then when you are faithful then you are rewarded for that faithfulness and so they are able to enter heaven because they were good or saved or believers and then they were rewarded for their faithfulness. But the last guy was wicked, that means he’s an unbeliever, he’s standing before God in his own righteousness which is wickedness and also he was thoughtful. There are degrees of punishment in hell and so this guy not only is cast into hell but there’s a degree of punishment waiting for him because he was thoughtful on top of it.

Oh, that’s the little eye opener. That is deep. So I’ve just taken part of that and of course my parable set covers those very well and you might want to get that CD set on the parables where I cover all those. And also the other, the judgment of the nations, you’ll notice right up front he divides the sheep from the goats. The sheep are the same, the believers, the goats are the unbelievers for a goat to become a believer or to become a sheep.

there has to be a new birth. And so obviously for a goat to be a sheep they have to believe on Christ which they didn’t. But sheep have certain characteristics, goats have certain characteristics and the sheep by nature and especially I believe what it’s talking about there is during the tribulation period the ones that become believers become believers because of the 144,000 in their witness and the third group in that passage is talking about Christ’s brethren which are the Jewish witnesses, the 144,000 that were witnessed during the tribulation period.

And so the ones that get saved through them will have compassion for them and visit them in prison and give them clothing and give them food and help them because they are appreciative for them bringing the gospel to them. But the goats who are lost and are totally indifferent to those Jewish witnesses during the tribulation did not care whether they rotted or died in prison and did not go and provide food or clothing or visit them. And so it was basically again the believers were appreciative and the unbelievers didn’t care at all about these one hundred forty thousand.

So you’ll notice this is quite clear. It says in as much as you did it under them, my brother and that’s his Jewish brother and the hundred forty four thousand, it’ll be witnessing during the tribulation you did it under me. The believers really were compassionate upon the 144,000 as they’re all going to be persecuted and they will all be martyred and the believers the sheep will have compassion on them but the unbelievers won’t. But they didn’t have compassion and by that be saved because they were sheep because they were saved through the witness of the 144,000 they had compassion and they cared for them but the the loss didn’t care at all and probably were glad to get rid of them.

Wow. That that that’s great. I mean that’s a huge relief in a big eye opener. I’m gonna have to get that series. Yeah. Well Matthew, I’m gonna try to get there. Are you are you store open on a. Okay. Sometimes Saturday morning call before you come just to make sure. Okay. And like this Saturday it probably won’t be because I have a wedding. Okay. That I won’t be here. So but sometimes I’m here on Saturday morning and then it’s open if I’m here.

So call in advance and we can work that out for you. But we’re always open after our worship services and open during the week from about 8 to 4.30 every day. Well, hey, thank you very much for everything. You’re very welcome and thank you for that call. Those were good questions and obviously somebody who is into the Bible, Greg studying in Lakeland and those are probing questions and obviously usually you don’t get good answers when you go to your commentaries and things, they don’t really tell you.

We had Paul, and we already answered that question from Paul and Sarah, so to about when a lost person is seeking the truth of the gospel, God promises to keep them alive through disease or war, and until they hear the messenger that brings the gospel to them. So in other words, If you are going to seek the gospel, you will not die until the gospel gets to you. So if you have been seeking, God is going to keep you alive until you get the message and then you can respond and get saved.

Ken in St. Petersburg calls in off air. By the way, our call in numbers 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. Ken in St. Pete calls in and he says, you said that there is nothing wrong with acupuncture and other healing remedies. Most of these are connected to Eastern pagan religious background. Well, this is true and I agree with you. You just have to throw out that nonsense. In fact, if you go to a health food store, sometimes when you eat the natural food or whatever the programs they want you to get into the yin and the yang and the ester other eastern religious things which are totally false.

But there’s no doubt about the fact that you can separate that out. So I agree with you and a lot of health and stores are connected to pagan religion and naturalism and even witchcraft and have nothing to do with Christianity. But so if you’re a person who practices acupuncture has you saying some chant or prayer, then I don’t want to take the whole package. I found even with youth in that you go and teach them some of the martial arts.

They have you do pagan chants or prayers and things like that. I think it’s terrible. But sometimes Christian kids will wind up getting in a class to get some self-protection, and they got them all there bending and bowing. all their bending and bowing and and chanting pagan prayers. I think it’s terrible, it should not happen. So if you have a Christian instructor, they’re not going to do that to you and have you do all that pagan nonsense that gets added in.

But we get the Devil’s clever. He finds one way or another to mix in the false with the truth. We have a Trent in Richmond, Virginia. Trent, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Okay, I got another. So, John. Don’t waste off the answer, man. This one here, co-rath, the grandfather of Moses, came from, came with Levi and Jacob into Egypt, and then they give his ages around 130. He fathered Moses’ father, and he lived to be about 130 years old, and then there was Moses.

But the Bible says that the soldier in Egypt was 130 years. If you count from the time that Jacob arrived or even Joseph arrived in Egypt. He had much less than 200 years. So I’m wondering if maybe we should be counting. I know you get exactly half of 430 years if you count from Abraham’s original soldier in Egypt when he was 75. And then he had Isaac when he was 100. And Isaac had Jacob when he was 60. That all as up to pass exactly half of 430.

So where do we start the count? All right, give me those verses and I’ll have to dig it out again for you before tomorrow because those are things that we don’t generally focus on and I’ll have to go back and I don’t memorize those things. But I’m usually those sometimes even because of numbers of being represented by a letter in the Hebrew alphabet, not as we do in English. Sometimes if that letter is not copied exactly correctly, you can get a wrong number for for an age or a time.

But anyway, I will look that up for tomorrow’s program and give you an answer then because I I can’t tell you right off the top of my head on that one. and so Trent be listening tomorrow. We’ll get back to you. We have CJ in Florida and she says she cannot have a baby medically. What does the Bible say about this? Well, I don’t know exactly what to tell you, but there are obviously people that cannot have children. In the Bible it talks about women that are barren.

Of course men can also be unable to produce a baby. That sometimes happens. We find that Sarah couldn’t have a child. You know that she and Abraham devised the plan to have a child through Hagar and they had ishmael which is causes the grief we see in the Middle East right here today. But in any case, God miraculously intervened and obviously her son Isaac was really born by a miracle of God. And it was a picture of Christ who was actually brought about through Mary without a human father.

But then you find Rebecca later also couldn’t have children and it tells us that Satan had closed up her womb so she couldn’t. Sometimes even Satan can be involved here where a child is not able to conceive because of Satan. We know that Isaac prayed and the Lord opened up her womb and allowed her to have twins and she bore Jacob and Esau. So you need to seek medical opinions but also you can pray to the Lord and certainly if it’s his will he can probably give you a child.

Otherwise I would recommend adoption or becoming a foster parent because I know that having a child is obviously important to you or you wouldn’t ask this question. CJ will be praying for you. God bless you and thank you for calling in. Bob, I’ve been clear what it calls in and says, what is your opinion on the book, sinners in the hands of an angry God by John Edwards. Obviously that was written hundreds of years ago. But obviously he preached on health.

If you are not a believer, then you’re going to be experiencing God’s wrath. Let me just give you a good reference. 2 Thessalonians chapter 1 verse 8 says that Christ comes back at the Second Coming in flaming fire, taking vengeance on those that do not know God. So John Edwards is right. Boy, if you’re a lost person and you die without Christ, then he will bring down his fire and wrath upon you. you if you have not obeyed the gospel of Jesus Christ.

So absolutely he was right on to preach hell. The modern day preachers today don’t want to talk about hell. So I think John Edwards would find himself out of place with the modern day preachers, but I believe we all ought to preach about hell because it’s in the Bible and unbelief or not talking about it will not put out the fires of hell. a person who dies as a lost person, a sinner without Christ will go to hell. And they will experience the wrath of an angry God because God will come against them in all of his flame and fire and torment forever and ever and ever.

The Bible makes that clear. We’re now going to Julia in Bradenton, Florida. And Julia calls in and says, Abraham was born in Ur of the Khaledis. What was his nationality? Well, he was a Gentile, I guess you might say, and he lived over there in Iraq. But God had him leave his family and his homeland and traveled to Israel and he became the first Hebrew. The word Hebrew means to cross over. And so Abraham became the first Hebrew. So his nationality now we would say Hebrew but he was a Gentile and became the first Hebrew.

Bob and Sarah said it goes in and he says are the unsaved blinded to the Bible? To what degree? Touch on that. Well you’re absolutely right they are blinded to the Bible. If you want a good reference 1 Corinthians 2 14 says the natural man the unsaved man the unregenerate man the man is not born again the man is not saved the man that is not trusted Christ cannot receive the things of the Spirit of God. For their foolishness to Him neither can He know them because they are spiritually discerned.

So the lost person really can’t comprehend the Bible. But the Bible is powerful and can bring life to an unsafe person so they can understand the gospel. And if the gospel gets through to them and They believe the gospel, they become saved, and become spiritually alive to God, and the Bible becomes open. And it doesn’t mean that you are going to immediately understand everything in the Bible, but now the Bible becomes open to the one who becomes saved. And I would read 1 Corinthians 2, 14, and I just quoted.

Jerry, in Seminole, just called in, and he says, what happens to the saved and the unsaved when they die? the same when they die, goes straight to be with the Lord, absent from the body, present with the Lord, write the verse down, second Corinthians 5 and eight, absent from the body, present with the Lord. What happens to the lost one they die? They go immediately to the heart of the earth to a place called Hades in Luke 16, beginning in verse 19 to the end of the chapter.

You see Christ thinking about a rich man that dies, and instantly he is in a place of flame and torment in the heart of the earth called Hades and there he is fully conscious, has memory, recognizes his surroundings and has conscious memory of his past and is still there to this very day and eventually will wind up in the eternal lake of fire, the eternal hell. So the saved go to be immediately with the Lord and the lost go immediately to Hades.

If we receive resurrection bodies, the saved at the event of the rapture and the unsaved at the end of the Millennial Kingdom of Christ, and they will be given the resurrection bodies before they are cast into hell. Hope that helps Jerry, and that was Jerry in 7.0. The phone number here at Bibleline is 1-800-576-3771. We have Gail in Chester, Fields, Virginia, and Gail, welcome to Bibleline. You are on the air. I was so glad to hear just a little while back the gentleman called to ask you something about Matthew 25, the parable of the talents.

Yes ma’am. And that also had been on my mind recently so I know that was the answer to a prayer for me. Wonderful. Yes, but I want you to please explain to me what he meant when he said the last servant He said, I know that you are a hard man or a harsh man and you reap where you don’t sow. What did he mean by that? Why did the master tell him you should have gone and put my money in the bank?

They were used to giving an investment. Of course the pictures, Christ being the king, everybody in his kingdom as a servant whether saved or not. They were still responsible to the king. This one was irresponsible and he was an unbeliever. He was considered wicked. He’s cast into outer darkness and there would be a punishment or degree of punishment based upon his works. So he’s really telling us about this guy that he was an honorary character I guess. And he was considered wicked and soft-flowing God was going to make him pay for it.

But he was never a believer. So the word servant, we need to just recognize that everybody under the king is a servant to the king. And so it has nothing to do with salvation. Oh, okay. Well, now understand that little better. Thank you so much Pastor Hank and I just praise the Lord that he used your program today to answer that prayer for me. Isn’t that great? Thank you. Gail. All right. Take care. Bless you. We’re out of time.
