John 3:16 reminds us of this wonderful doctrine of the incarnation of God in a human body. Jesus was then to die on Calvary to pay for the sins of all mankind, so that all who would trust (believe) on Christ would not perish, but have everlasting life.

We’re going to do one class for five weeks, two hours per Tuesday night, and that’ll be five weeks and we’ll finish a class, and then we’ll start another one. That way we’ll concentrate on one class for ten hours of teaching two hours per every Tuesday night beginning the 19th of September. Of course, the potential date for the Rapture is the 22nd of September, the Feast of Trumpets, and should the Rapture happen this year, we’re going to be canceling the rest of our classes.
Of course, I’m having fun with you. We don’t know when the Lord is coming back, but this year could be the year. Certainly, it could. And if he comes this year, we’ll be out of here the 22nd of September, which is the most reasonable date for the Rapture to happen, whatever year it happens. This year it happens to fall on the… We will demonstrate from the scriptures why when we get into October we will talk about that. We will also come up on the birth date of Christ and we will be talking about that in the beginning of next month.
We believe Christ was born in October and we will demonstrate from the scriptures why when we get into October we will talk about that. services from Calvary where Bible I said quarter and we will inform you as we get closer here we’re almost ready and we’ll be looking forward to bringing the worship services to you so many have called us and have told us that they just cannot find a good Bible teaching church. One person said they couldn’t find one within a hundred miles of where they were.
Wow, so I don’t I don’t know if they visited every church in the area within 100 miles, but apparently they said they just really were very discouraged. And while they search and while you search, if you’re looking for a good church, we’re going to bring you the worship service from Bible and headquarters at Calvary Community Church beginning as soon as we can and we’ll announce that start date. It might even be this weekend. So be listening all week long.
Give you Bible open turn if you will to the gospel of John You know there are those who teach that you and I have no choice As to our salvation that God elects Some to be saved and some to go to hell and that we have no choice in that at all one of the verses that is brought up to to Reinforce this for that position is John 644 where Jesus said, No man can come to me except the Father which has sent me, draw him and I’ll raise him up at the last day.
So there are those who put a lot of focus on this particular verse that unless you are drawn by the Lord that you will not be saved and only those who have been selected before him will be the ones that are drawn to the Lord. And what they don’t tell you is, and maybe they don’t even know it, maybe they’ve never read John’s Gospel past chapter 6, but they need to go over to John’s Gospel chapter 12 Jesus says in verse 32 when he talks about his crucifixion that is just ahead of him.
He says in John 1232, and I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. Whoa! Well, look at that. It tells us here that everybody, 100% of all the human race, is drawn by Christ to himself. And so therefore, how do you explain that? Well, obviously nobody can come to the Father except he is drawn, but God draws everybody. Let me read that verse again in John 12, verse 31 and verse 32. It says, and I, if I be lifted up from the earth, draw all men unto me, this he said signifying what death he should die.
So he’s talking about the crucifixion and how he would draw all men unto himself. So obviously the choice is ours. He draws everyone. The Holy Spirit convicts everyone. Everyone is invited to be saved. for God so loved the world, it tells us in John 3 16 that he gave his only begotten son that the choice is ours that whosoever believeth or trusteth in Christ, that whosoever that believeth or trusteth in Christ should not perish but have everlasting life. D.L.
Moody said it as simply as you’ll ever hear it, he said the whosoever wills are the elect, the whosoever wants are the non-elect, and so God has, before the foundations of the earth, chosen to save all those that would believe on Him, or trust on Him, and He’s chosen before the foundations of the earth that He would not save those that have not believed on Him. And so the choice is yours. And if you believe and the invitation is extended to everyone, who so ever believe it, if you believe or trust in Christ, then the Bible says, You will not perish because Christ perished in your place.
You’ll have everlasting life. That is what God has predetermined before the foundation of the earth. The choice is yours. But if you do not believe on Christ, you do not trust Him, then you will perish and you’ll not have everlasting life. That’s what also God determined before the foundations of the earth. So the choice is yours. The Holy Spirit convex every man of sin, righteousness and judgment. According to John’s gospel. in John 644 where it says no man can come to the Father except the Father draw him.
That’s true, but in John 12, 32 and 33 we find that he draws all men. All men are drawn. You know, it’s interesting. A lot of people just don’t read far enough. Those people apparently never read past John 6. They never get as far as John chapter 12 where they see that God draws all men. Let me share with you another verse. I love this one. It’s in 2 Thessalonians. Again, people get hung up and they don’t even read the complete verse.
It says in verse 13, we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren, beloved of the Lord because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation, and that’s all they read. And they say, look at that. God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation, but they don’t read the conclusion of the verse. The verse goes on to say, through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth. In other words, when you believe the truth, then the Holy Spirit sanctifies you or makes you pure in holy and God’s sight.
And God has chosen to save those who would believe the truth. That’s really what it’s saying here in 2 Thessalonians 2, 13. We are bound to give thanks always to God for you brethren. Beloved of the Lord because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation how? How? Through sanctification of the Spirit that is God’s part and belief of the truth that is your part. When you believe the gospel then God will sanctify you or make you pure and holy through the Holy Spirit and you are then one of the elect one of the chosen.
But the choice is in your ball court. You are the one that has to believe the truth. And of course the truth is the truth concerning Christ, His death, His burial, His resurrection. There is only one way to be saved, and Christ is that way. Everybody is invited to be saved. Everybody potentially can be saved. Second Peter tells us that God is not willing that any should perish, not that many should perish, not that any should perish, but that all men should come to repentance or change of mind and trust Jesus as their Savior.
I’m Dr. Englund, and this is Bibleline. We’re going to go to the phone lines. If you want to dial us up, the number is 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. Hopefully you had a nice day yesterday, Labor Day, and a lot of people had to work yesterday. A lot of the stores were open and in the grocery store I had to go to the grocery store and I asked the cashier, when do you get off today? She says at 10 o’clock when we close.
Wow. So somebody worked all day long. But we hope you had a great day and hopefully it was a nice time for you. And here we are on Tuesday coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church. us at 1-800-576-3771. Off the air we have Mark calling in from Charlotte, Michigan and he says in Mark 13 it talks about a temple being rebuilt in three days. How do we know what this is talking about?
Could it be the temple in 8070 that was destroyed? No the answer is no it’s talking about the temple of Christ’s body. When Christ would be crucified, Christ is saying that He would resurrect that body in three days. There are several references to this mark, and I’m going to go to the one that is in John’s Gospel. In John chapter 2, we find the Jewish people here that were confronting Christ said in verse 18 of John’s Gospel chapter 2.
What’s signed? Show us thou us seeing that thou doest these things and in verse 19 of John 2 mark Jesus answered and said unto them destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up. Now the Jews also were thinking about that temple that was standing on the Temple Mount. And they said forty and six years was the temple or this temple in building. And will thou rare it up in three days? But verse 21, here’s your answer Mark in Charlotte, Michigan.
The answer is in verse 21 of John chapter 2. It says here, He spake of the temple of His body. And therefore he was risen from the dead. His disciples remembered that he had said this unto them, and they believed the scripture and the word which Jesus had said. So Christ was talking about the temple of his body being resurrected in three days. Thank you, Mark. We have David in Kabul skill, New York. David calls in and leaves this altar question.
He says Mormons believe that they are the only church recognized by the Lord. Well, it’s probably one of the many churches that are not recognized by the Lord. The Mormons aren’t even Christian. Did you know that Mormon theology tells us that the Mormons all are aliens? They all came here to earth from the planet Cola. I didn’t make this up. This is true! They admit and claim that they are all aliens that migrated here from the planet Cola. It almost sounds like that Superman story where he came from the planet Kraktan.
Well, it’s a lot of similarities. And of course what they believe is that Elohim, the spirit god, was producing all kinds of babies there on the planet Kolob and they needed bodies for these spirits to end well. So they got together 12 of Elohim’s sons. Jesus was present. Lucifer, Satan was present. And they drew straws. And the straw fell upon Jesus. And Jesus was sent to the earth as the Adam God. To start creating human bodies here on the earth for these spirits to end well.
So the spirits, these creations of Elohim, the Spirit, gone, began to migrate here and take on bodies here on the planet Earth. Lucifer got jealous. Mormons are kind of quiet on this today, but they said Lucifer came on his own and that all the black races are actually fathered by Satan. Isn’t that amazing? Well obviously the Mormon Church believes all the black folks came from Satan and all the white folks came from Jesus. All of that is Mormon theology which is totally wrong, not even Christian.
The Jesus of Mormonism is not the Jesus of the Bible. The whole revelation supposedly given to Joseph Smith was given to him by the angel Maroni. What I say is this is all Maroni Baloney. Don’t buy into Mormonism. It is a cult. It is false. They don’t believe in hell. They don’t believe in the Christ, the Bible. They believe that they are aliens who have migrated here from the planet Cola. By the way, the Mormons, you might want to ask them this is a little bit an intimate question.
But they wear some secret underwear that keep them safe. They never take it off. 24 hours a day, they have to wear their secret underwears. If you know a Mormon, they’re wearing it. If you ask them, of course, they’ll be terribly embarrassed, but they all wear this secret underwear that covers them and keeps them safe. It protects them. They don’t go anywhere without it. Anyway, Mormonism is a false group. Don’t buy into that. It is totally unchristian. It is not Christian at all.
We have Henry in Tampa, Florida, who’s just called in, and Henry welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hi, my name is Henry Walker. I come from Tampa, Florida, but I’m really from New Orleans, McRethane, Katrina. I’m going through some crowd. Well what you need to do Henry is you need to get into a good Bible church where you’re sitting into the sound of God’s word. You also need to be reading your Bible on a regular basis. You know the Christian’s food is the Bible.
Jesus said in Matthew 4, 4, man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. If you have an eaten or dined on God’s word lately you’re going to be weak. If you didn’t eat physical food every day. You would get weak, wouldn’t you? Certainly you would. And for a while, you would actually die. But as a Christian, you need to eat God’s Word every day and digest it. And it will strengthen you spiritually.
I can tell real quick when I don’t get into my Bible like I ought to, I feel weak. And we are strengthened when we are taking God’s word and it is the means by which we grow as a Christian. In 1 Peter 2 2 it says as new-born babies as Christians born again we are to desire the sincere milk of God’s word that we may grow and that means about our spiritual growth and our becoming mature as believers. So Henry I recommend that you get into the Bible.
I recommend you find a good Bible believing teaching church where you’ll have other Christians that will encourage you and lift you up and I understand what you’re saying. So I would get moving and of course we’ll Bible aren’t, we’ll help you become encouraged and get you into the Bible as well. Thank you for that call, Henry in Tampa, Florida, a victim of the Katrina hurricane who apparently has come here to be in our area. We have George and George is calling in from East Long Meadow, Massachusetts.
Wow. And George, welcome to Bibleline. George, you’re on the air. And let’s see what’s happening here with George. And I’m not able to get that call up on the air here, so we’ll see what happens there with that call. We’ll try to get George to call back. But calling all the way from East Long Meadow, Massachusetts. George Callback will get you up on the air. We have Tony in Richmond, Virginia. Tony, welcome to my blind. I can’t get Tony up.
Somehow I’m not getting the calls to come up on the air. We’ll go on to some more off-air questions and we’ll hopefully get the phone problem resolved here. We have off the air, Anonymous from Clearwater. First on 1-9, why must you confess your sins if Christ paid for them? Well Christ paid for every sin that you had ever commit, past, present, and future. And obviously as far as our salvation is concerned, they are gone, gone, gone forever gone, never to be brought up again and not only are they forgiven but they are forgotten.
But in our daily walk with the Lord we find that we sin and that breaks fellowship. And John in 1 John is talking about fellowship. And he says in order to have fellowship with the Lord you have to be in agreement with the Lord and walking in the light as He is in the light. And it tells us there as a Christian 1 John 1 8, John the Apostle includes himself, he He says, If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
But because sin breaks our intimacy, our walk with the Lord, we need to confess that sin. So verse 9 says, If we confess our sins, he that is God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, that is those things which we confess to him. And then he says, and who cleanses us from all unrighteousness. So he wipes the slate clean. Let me help you with this anonymous and clear water. When I was born into my family, my mom and dad, here I was a little boy growing up, I was from the moment of birth forever their son.
Even though now they have passed on into eternity, I am still the biological son of my mother and my father. And nothing can ever undo that. is the Quivlin of the past tense of our salvation. Once you trust Christ, you are forever his, you’re forever his son or your daughter. But then as I began to grow up and as I began to do things that were contrary to what my parents would have me to do, I found myself in trouble with them.
And I found my intimacy with them was strained until we got that thing So if I didn’t do the chores that I was responsible to do, I was in trouble. And I needed to confess that and make it right. And then I would get my allowance and then I would get maybe extra privileges. But if I didn’t cooperate with my parents, then my fellowship in a sense was broken. And it was kind of like a heavy cloud and a silence that was between us.
And obviously I was restricted and I was not able to do the things that I wanted to do that were privileges that my parents gave to me. So basically that’s the present tense of our salvation. In case you didn’t know it, the Bible teaches three tenses of our salvation. The past tense is we’re delivered from the penalty of sin. We’ll never go to hell once we trust Christ. The present tense of our salvation is we’re delivered from the power of sin as we live for the Lord and walk and fellowship with Him.
with him, and we cleanse our sins daily by confessing him to the Lord. The future tense of our salvation is that we are delivered from the presence of sin. Once we get to heaven and have rid ourselves of this body, we will never sin again and will not be capable of sinning in heaven. So the past tense is deliverance from the penalty of sin, the present tense from the power of sin, the future tense of salvation is deliverance from the presence of sin.
All three are taught in the Bible and apparently you’ve missed number two and number three. We have to go to break here with the end of the first half of Bible and we’ll be back in just a minute so don’t go away. Keep your radio down to right here. We’ll be right back for Bible and too. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. England Strimman. It’s wonderful to be able to be with you.
Thanks for tuning in today. And we certainly enjoy being with you every day. And thanks for tuning in today. We’re getting calls, obviously, from all over the country. As soon as we find out we’ll let you know.
And we now are streaming our television programs as well as radio and we’re excited about hearing how many are tuning in to the Bibleline television programs. You can get those 24 hours a day, seven Even there is a week from anywhere in the world. I have a sister that lives in Ohio and she watches Bibleline television on the computer, on her internet. And guess what? She also listens to Bibleline radio and she catches it on the internet because we don’t broadcast live radio into her city but she doesn’t also have the dish network or direct TV so she doesn’t get the television broadcast but she’s able to see it because she goes to the internet site go to my website by the line ministries dot orgio dot com click on that little TV set and uh…
up in the right hand top corner of the home page and you’ll be connected to a page that has TV on the left side radio on the right just click click click and you’ve got it made we’re about ready to webcast our our worship services and we hope that you’ll uh… be ready when we make that announcement and we’re almost ready. We’re practicing and we have a, it hidden behind the scenes and when we’re ready we’ll let you know it’s there and you can go and pick up our church worship services here at Calvary Community or Bible and it’s headquartered.

So if you would like to help us continue Bibleline in your area and to carry out this ministry of getting the gospel out to a world that needs to hear it. You can send a gift or you can. He is the chief of Bibleline. He is the chief of Bibleline. He is the chief of Bibleline.
gift to Bible and also ask for a resource list so you can learn of the different resources we have to help you in your Christian growth. We are about ready to return now to do Bible and part 2, to stations that have been on break and so keep your radio down to the right where it is and we’ll be right back now with Bibleline part 2. The second half. to have. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr.
Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Well, we’re back from that break. From the break and it’s wonderful to be with you and thank you for tuning in today. And by the way, we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida, from our studios at the the Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida, where I am the pastor. And we always invite our listeners to come by and see us.
We’re exactly one block west of the Tampa International Airport. We’re located on George Road at 4811 George Road, which is between Memorial and Hillsborough avenues in Tampa here just one block west of the Veterans Expressway that actually begins right to the west of the Tampa airport. In fact, it is essentially the same as the perimeter road that surrounds the airport on the west side. Come by and see us. We’d love to meet you. I’d love to have you come by and worship with us.
We will have a lunch right after the morning worship. You are welcome to be my guest. Come at 1030 and stay for lunch. And also we are having a baptism. If you have not been water baptized since you have been saved, we will be happy to include you in our baptism. We would love to be able to be the one to perform that for you. Baptism is a testimony of how we are cleansed of our sin by the blood of Christ.
If you were baptized as an infant, does it count? There is no such thing as infant baptism in the Bible. You cannot find me a verse or anybody as an infant was baptized. Also if you were baptized before, your salvation experience does not count. What were you giving testimony to? Obviously that is not biblical. And it’s a testimony after you become saved. And if you have trusted Jesus Christ as Savior and have not been immersed by water baptism as a testimony of your faith, you ought to do that in obedience to Christ’s command, that we all ought to be giving testimony in that way.
So you’re welcome to be a part of our baptism on the 17th of September at 3 in the afternoon. It will be after that wonderful morning worship service and the dinner that will follow the lunch and then we’ll motorcade up a couple miles north of where Calvary is to a beautiful home on a lake and we’ll do it outdoors which I love to do baptisms outdoors in fact, I have just loved to do them in Israel in the Jordan River I’ve taken 13 tours over there leading people to Israel and we’re thinking What about going this coming spring?
If you want to get on the list as potentially interested in going to Israel with me, this just means you want to have me inform you as to dates, times and costs if we go this coming spring, 2007, let me know. Of course, if the Lord comes this year on the Feast of Trumpets, we’re canceling any plans that we’d fly over there In that way we’ll come back with Jesus and rule and reign with him and we’ll see Jerusalem then.
We’d love to have you go with us if we do get to do a trip this coming year. We have lots of callers waiting to get up on the air. You’re welcome to call us at 1-800-576-3771. And don’t forget you can catch our programs again and again on the Internet at BibleLineMinistries.org.com. Radio and television are streamed and you can catch them at your leisure any time of day Any day of the week any day of the year. It’s exciting.
We’re gonna go now to George who we didn’t get up before from East Long Meadow Massachusetts George welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air Good morning. Good morning. Before my question, I just wanted to comment that it’s amazing through the miracle of the Internet. We’re getting the word out worldwide. Even Jay Burnham McGee, who’s been dead for 20 years, I think. I’ve been with the Lord for 20 years, is still preaching and teaching. Isn’t it wonderful? We have people living in space, flying around in space like angels.
Interesting, isn’t it? in the last days no doubt about it. Christ truly has got to be coming soon and we’re just delighted that you’re able to catch our program and I’m sure you’re getting good quality and it’s great on the internet. Yeah. Well you’re… Then I got it on the radio and I’m home. Oh that’s wonderful. Well how can we help you today? Well I have read you a good Friday paper and And I certainly agree with you on that.
But there’s one place I’m stumbling in that you can help me with is, quite celebrated the path over with his disciples. When did he do that? If he was crucified on the preparation day. Well, he did it on Tuesday night of that week. The answer is, if you go back to Exodus 12, and it doesn’t come out in the translation in the King James, but they would offer the lamb between the evenings that really allowed for two different nights when the Passover could be offered.
And so the evening of the preparation was Tuesday night, the preparation day was Wednesday and the evening of that afternoon was actually the evening of the Passover itself. Christ, we believe, was crucified at three o’clock, the beginning of the evening period, which is considered between 3pm and 6pm on Wednesday, but they were also legitimately able to offer the sacrifice on the previous evening. So Exodus 12 gives permission. And I think God must have designed it that way with this in mind so that Christ Himself could observe the Passover and then He Himself become the Passover.
And yet it all fell within that 24-hour period which is included in the wording there between the evenings back in Exodus chapter 12. Very good. Thank you. You’re so welcome and thanks for listening and calling in today. You’re welcome. All right. George up in East Long, Meadow, Massachusetts, listening on the Internet. Isn’t that exciting? We have Tony in Richmond, Virginia. Tony, welcome to Bibleline your own ear. Tony? And having a problem with that line. I can’t get Tony up for whatever reason.
We have Harold in Chester, Virginia. Harold, welcome to Bibleline your own year. And I can’t get anything with that line either. I don’t know what we are having problems here, but we’ll try to get it resolved. We have K and Sarasota. Let’s see if I can get K up on the line here. K, welcome to Bibleline. Good morning. You had spoken last week on a gentleman called asking about meat, about what he should eat and what he should eat.
And he was kind of concerned about that area. And you had said that there is a doctrine that if you abstain from meat, that you are teaching a doctrine of demons. that is correct in and of course you can choose not to eat meat there’s nothing wrong with that but for a religious organization or group to forbid you to eat meat is a doctor of demons uh… the roman catholic church for example forbade you to eat meat on friday of course they were saying because that was the day that christ was crucified on which they’re wrong we believe christ is crucified on wednesday so they picked the wrong day it should have been good Wednesday instead of good Friday and Friday was just plain Friday.
But that doesn’t matter. They would, you know, that’s why the countess always ate fish on Friday because they weren’t allowed to eat meat. And that was a big sin if you were a Roman Catholic to eat meat on Friday. But there are numerous groups that forbid the eating of meat period. And usually the cults are the most notorious at that and especially Satan groups do not eat meat. They forbid the eating of meat. And the Bible says in 1 Timothy 4-1 you can read it for yourself.
Right, I read that. Okay. But then it goes on to say that we’re legitimately able to eat meat that there’s nothing to be refused as long as we give thanks. Senator Speaker of the Senate. To God as we eat of it and we’re not restricted. But if you want to be a vegetarian or not eat meat, that’s just fine. But for a religious group to forbid you to eat meat and put emposetentities for you to do so is wrong.
that you say it so strongly that if people don’t eat meat there or teach others not to their teaching a doctrine of demons, now I said this before with you that I have many, many friends who have abstained from meat and have cured themselves of campers and various illnesses. Well I agree today our meat so you know we have all these cows that are injected with all kinds of antibiotics and everything else than steroids to make them grow faster and I understand even these large eggs in the grocery store, those have been produced by introducing certain storeas and the chickens to make the large eggs.
So if you buy the extra large eggs, you’re probably contaminated eggs with, and I’m not an expert, but I’ll just tell you what I hear. But apparently, we’re interfering today, and I agree with you a lot of stuff. We should be healthier if we can just eliminate a lot of things, because even our fruits and vegetables and everything else. I’ve been sprayed with chemicals unless we wash them. Even at that, I’m sure we’re taking in things that we shouldn’t be taking into our bodies.
But definitely the Bible does state that for a religious group to impose restrictions on you where they say you cannot do this is wrong. Well, also when you look at the word meat in the New Testament, it means more than just animal product and many of the words when you go to the Greek, like in that first Timothy for one. It doesn’t just mean animal product. It means articles are forbidden by the Jewish law. And that’s more than just meat.
It is a Jewish tradition that’s being carried through into the New Testament, still hanging on to that law. And I think that’s what Christ is talking about. We are saved by grace, not by the law and the law. The B-R-O-M-A is the word that is used in 1 Timothy 4-1. And that is ceremonial articles forbidden by the Jewish law. I think sometimes we always want to make that an animal product. word meat sometimes could mean food when it’s translated properly and you have to go to your contortence and look through that.
I sure don’t have a problem with what you’re saying. It kind of scares me when I hear you so strongly telling people, you know, because also in 1st, 20, and 813 it says if food needs to be bothered to offend, I will never eat meat. Well, that’s a never ballgame there but the point is that for a religious group to impose certain rules on you that the bible doesn’t impose upon you is wrong and that is of the devil apparently and that’s what we’re talking about here so uh…
the jewish law they’re going back to the jewish law but it doesn’t matter if they if a really if a for example satanic group that says you cannot eat any kind of meat is that’s that is it exactly i think what this is talking about that’s a lie you you don’t get salvation by not eating meat or doing right or wrong or hanging under the Jewish law or hanging hand. Well, even if it’s not for salvation, even if, but look at the other one there.
It’s also forbidding to Mary and the Roman Catholics have deeply violated that the priests and the nuns are not allowed to get married is forbidden. Look at the problems that has created for them in the pedophile priests today and and all of the things that they’re embarrassed with today. It’s all as a result of that. I would like to say thank you for calling. I appreciate your comments and I do say it strongly. When some religious group imposes rules on you that are not in line with God’s word, then that is wrong.
And to tell me that I cannot have a hamburger is included in that, I believe, and that would be wrong. I can choose not to eat a hamburger, but if you’re telling me I cannot, that’s in violation of this particular verse. We’re going to Tony in Richmond, Virginia and Tony welcome to Bible in your own ear. And apparently I can’t take line 5 up on the air here because for whatever reason it will not come up. So we’re not going to go to Tony right now, we’ll eventually get Tony somehow.
We’re going to go now to Hugh as an off-air question from Edgewater, he says, what is the difference between the book of life and the Lamb’s book of life? And I don’t believe there’s any difference. But the Bible does contrast over in Revelation chapter 20 books as contrasted with the book of life or the Lamb’s book of life. And there is a difference there. The books I think just record all of our deeds, good and bad, and the book of life or the Lamb’s which of life records the names of those.
Good, eligible for entering heaven. Everybody’s name is in that book and if you die as an unbeliever, your name I believe is stricken from the Lamb’s Book of Life at death. And the believer who becomes a believer at some point in his life from that point on is a promise that his name will never come out of the book. Now we’re going to go to Tony and Richmond and Tony, welcome to Bibleline. Okay, good morning, Dr. Hank. Thanks for being patient.
We had trouble getting you up on the air today, but you’re persistent I’m guessing the devil of angels doesn’t want me to understand something else that I’m taking it as well probably so But yeah, I had a couple of questions actually to okay. What’s your take on Christian? Well, what do you how do you define that? What do you mean by that? Everybody’s a Christian that names the name of Christ. Well, I come across this is teaching where they say that was, you know, oh, OK, that certainly is not true and can be rejected because the Bible is quite clear that unless you trust Jesus, you will not be saved.
And obviously Christ makes it plain in Matthew 7 that Nero is the way that leads them to life and few are those that find it and brought us the way that leads to destruction. and many are those which go in that way which will wind up in destruction and hell forever. I agree with you. It was just a group or not really a group. I’m not sure if you’re familiar with the tent maker organization. No, I’m not. It seems it is a cult where they profess about, you know, everybody will eventually get saved that they’re going back to the original Greek text that they’re saying most Bible translations now are wrong, that they’re not translating certain words correctly or they’re putting words in and they’re not putting the full gospel in there.
And I was like, okay. But thank God, I prayed about it and I looked into the verses and it just doesn’t flow from what the whole Bible teaches. kind of contradict itself. Absolutely. Those people are wrong. There is only one way to have an ex-Christ and if you die without him you are forever gone. Tony, thank you for your call. Hope that has helped a little bit. We are now going to Gene in DeBary. I don’t know what state that is.
Gene, welcome to Vibeline. Not able to get that call up. Those lines apparently are not working today and we will have to get you to call back see if we can get you back on a line that is working. We’ve had more problems with phones in the past month or so, and we trust that the Lord will help us get this resolved. We have Michael in Utica, New York, calling in, and he says, do you see anything wrong with having a collection of old of old Egyptian statue art is that unbiblical?
I don’t believe so unless you take it that these are objects of worship that you prayed to these as gods or worship them and so on. But the Bible definitely says in the second commandment, we are not to make any graven images which obviously were not to bow down to them or worship them and so on. And there are many religious groups that do. I know traveling through Greece, you would see icons along the roadside where apparently you could stop and pray to one of these saints and you have their picture there.
I thought, boy, is that a direct violation of the Bible? And every mile or so you’d see an icon and a little place where you could stop and pray to that saint. That’s totally unbiblical. But I don’t think that’s what you’re doing. And I don’t see anything wrong with what you’re doing. I don’t think it’s a violation of the commandment. The Jews today, though, are very careful not to break that commandment. It’s a real reversal for them. in the Old Testament times, they were always worshiping idols, and yet today if you go to a synagogue, you will not find any depictions of any face, any human in a synagogue at all.
It’s amazing how the Bible accurately predicted in the book of Hosea, the Prophet of Hosea, that during this two thousand year period between the first and second comings of Christ, that they would not make any images, and boy they don’t. It’s interesting that they’re very careful not to do that. And… It’s an amazing verification of the accuracy of God’s Word, not his for sure. Offair, Vicki in Tampa calls in and she says, if we’re not under the law and you say we do not have to tithe, then why do we have to listen to the Old Testament when it comes to divorce?
Certainly there are principles taught in the Bible and things that are not ever rescinded. In the Old Testament, for example, it talked about capital punishment. And capital punishment has never been rescinded. And we believe that that is a right that God has given to human government to take the life of someone who has taken the life of someone else. And I certainly believe capital punishment is a deterrent to the heinous crimes. And the Bible certainly offered about 20 crimes that were punishable by death.
And so I think that the Bible has some very good rules for us, but we’re still to give, even though it may not be a tie, or 10%, we are to choose to give a percent of what God has blessed us with. The berry I understand is north of the land in Florida and Gene from the berry is now on the line. We’ll finally get you up. Thanks for being patient. Hello. Gene, you’re on the air. Oh, hey, Dr.
Ellington. How are you doing? Good. Hey, I kind of got a comment followed up by kind of a question on your opinion regarding all the laws and the different things in the Bible. I believe that if we do not try to adhere to the scriptures as closely as we can, although So a lot of the law has nothing to do with the salvation, we all know. But if we don’t adhere to the Bible as well as we can, we’ll have a tendency to want to use our own judgment, our own man made evaluation on life as we know it and kind of drift away from the Bible.
And probably the reason I say this, I was just reading, I’m not sure if you’re familiar with the UK Times. I’m not. It’s kind of like the equivalent of the New York Times. Just past weekend, and it kind of floored me. They were talking about the Roman Catholic Church, just came out with a proclamation that they now believe, although the Bible was a good book, it was written thousands of years ago, and they say that we should no longer adhere to the book itself because it’s not relevant to the modern time that we live in that’s crazy and and they went on and on on how it’s at the bible of the past not of the future and their their changing their enrollment after church well this moment that church would love to have it’s uh…
not look at the bible because they’re obviously teaching many doctrines which are directly in violation of in concert what the bible teaches exactly and and i think what people don’t you know realize i happen to believe that you know if you go into the prophecy and the deal and the one world religious leader which to me would be the the pope because he’s really the only big guy in the block now for the whole world uh… would turn from his state and they’ve been turning now for quite a while and each year seems like they get a little more drastic in their turn i would agree with the other jane i think you’re absolutely right and And today, under grace, doesn’t mean we become lawless, but that we really follow the principles of the Bible from the heart and not because of the letter of the law.
So I don’t do it because I have a commandment that says, Thou shalt not, but because I love the Lord and when I want to please Him, I do it from the heart and I’m not doing it because I have a rule that says, don’t do it. Absolutely. because we’re Christians and we know the difference between right and wrong and the things that God says that we should do and we do a lot of obedience. It’s nothing to do with salvation but the world’s going to be soapy-turvy there.
Everybody wants to make new laws for everything that we do and do away with the old and on and in with the new and all kinds of crazy stuff and really that was my thought. That’s great. Gina, thank you for calling in. I understand that they play us again in the evening over there from 9 until 10 o’clock. Oh yeah absolutely twice a day I love it. That’s great. We need to hear more of everything. That’s beautiful. Well Gene thanks for calling in today and God bless you.
Hey God bless you too. Thank you. Alright that was Gene in the berry Florida. Oh we’re apparently very close to the land Florida if that makes any sense if you know what that’s at. We have Todd in Tampa, Florida. Todd welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Turn your radio down Todd be My drawn the air oh hey, how you doing? I do it over Hank yet to be quick because we don’t miss time Listen up a couple weeks ago.
I heard somebody talking about the Trinity and they want to prove and tell me what you think I’m gonna hear you I’ll leave it. I leave this to me. I think I’m listen And it’s a 43 10 God says that no God for before me or need a shot of you after me God says that the father and Hebrews 1 chapter 8, God the Father addresses the Son, saying that he’s God. In verse 9 of chapter 1 of Hebrews and 10 of chapter Hebrews, he says that the earth and heaven were created by his hand, and he is the Lord.
So that’s the verse right there that he’s quarreled, that he is definitely Elohim. I’m going to hang up and listen. Thank you, Dr. Haggad. Those are great passages that you’ve decided. And Hebrews 1 definitely has the entire Godhead included. You can see that they’re obviously working in consent concert together the Father created the earth the spirit Created the earth and so did Jesus. He is addressed as God there who also is the creator of the earth If you’ve never trusted Jesus as your Savior would you do it right now?
