Welcome to Bibleline with Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Coming to you from Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida. Declaring God’s love through radio and television. Providing real answers to an ever-searching world. Got a question? Dial toll free at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here’s the host of Bibleline, Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Good morning and welcome to Bibleline great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning into the broadcast. We look forward to being with you every day Monday through Friday as we come to you live from our studios here in Tampa, Florida at the Calvary Community Church.
You’re always welcome to come by and visit our Resource Center. We’re open every day till about 4.30 in the afternoon, eastern standard time. Also, you’re welcome to come by on a worship day. And this Sunday coming is the third Sunday and that means a lunch dinner right after the the worship service. You’re welcome to come at 1030. Be my guest for the worship service. Bring your family, your appetite, your Bible, and then stay for the lunch dinner, a wonderful time of fellowship, great food, and usually different church members entertain us with some other music in the background, and we have a great time.
This Sunday also is the Sunday. We’re going to have a baptism, and if you have not been water-baptized since your salvation experience, then you’re welcome to be a part of this baptism call, the 800 number, and line that up with our operators. But that’ll be this Sunday at three o’clock. And if you’ve been baptized as an infant, doesn’t count, no such thing in the Bible as infant baptism. Not one instant can you ever find an instance where an infant was baptized.
Also, if you’re baptized prior to your salvation, that doesn’t count because what were you giving testimony 22. Water baptism is a testimony on the part of a believer of how they were cleansed of their sin by the blood of Christ. Nothing but the blood could wash away your sin. Water cannot take away any sin. Water is not a part of salvation, but water baptism is a picture that believers give when they give testimony of how their cleanse and washed of their sin by the blood of Christ.
In any case, this Sunday will be a big Sunday for us. We’d love to have you come and visit with us. And that’s at 10.30 for the morning worship, 9.15 for adult education in Sunday school. The dinner, the lunch will follow. And then at three we’ll have the baptism and we’ll probably all motorcade up a couple of miles north of the Bible and headquarters here at Calvary Community Church to a beautiful lake where we’ll be on a nice green lawn and then have the baptism in that outdoor situation which is beautiful.
We’re going to get into the Bible and then we’ll be taking our collars. The phone number here is 1-800-576-3771 and this is Bibleline. In Luke’s Gospel we find in chapter 8, the parable of the sower. And this one is seen in several of the Gospels, but the parable of the sower is a real interesting picture of how the word of God, the seed, is sown, but the results aren’t always the same. Let me read verse 11 where it says the parable is this.
This is Luke chapter 8 verse 11. The seed is the word of God. those by the wayside are they that here then comeeth the devil Satan and takeeth the word out of their hearts lest they should believe and be saved. I think it’s very clear here that these people never get saved. It says that Satan comes and takes the word out of their hearts lest they should believe and be saved. So they never become believers, they never become saved.
So the seed sown by the wayside are those who hear the word and they never really come to the place where they trust Jesus Christ as their Savior and become saved. You know the Bible uses that phrase when you hear the word in particular the gospel that is when you become saved. In Acts chapter 4 after Peter and Paul had preached after they had healed the impotent man it says in X4,4, how be it many of them which heard the word believed and then it says the number of men was about 5,000.
5,000 people got saved here and notice the terminology. They heard the word and they believed and then the 5000 were saved as a result. Ephesians seems to give us a little more clarity. It says you heard the word of truth speaking to all of us. And then it goes on to qualify that says the Gospel of your salvation, which is the message of the death of the barrel, the resurrection of Christ. And then having believed Ephesians 1.13 says you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.
So the moment you believe are simultaneous with belief, you’re sealed and you become saved and you’re saved forever, but these in the parable of the sower that are seed sown by the wayside never believe. It says here, the devil take the way the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. So these don’t get saved at all. Then in the next verses we will have really four different kinds of Christians. And if you are a believer, you are saved.
But as referencing the Christian life now, there are Christians that produce no fruit, Christians that produce fruit, Christians that produce much fruit, no fruit, fruit, more fruit and much fruit, four categories there. And every Christian is in one of those categories. Maybe you’re one of those that’s producing no fruit. And by the way, I believe fruit, as defined as the fruit of the believer, is actually us leading other people to Christ. It is us producing fruit. The fruit of the Spirit is the Spirit’s fruit.
As we yield ourselves to obey the Lord, the fruit of the Spirit becomes known in our life, which is love and joy and peace and gentleness and long suffering and so on and so on. There are nine listed in that list in Galatians 5, 22 and 23. But that’s the fruit of the Spirit. All of that fruit is non-material, not physical. You can’t touch it as the Spirit is non-material. So is the fruit of the Spirit. You can’t package up a box of love or a box of joy or a box of self-control.
Those things don’t come in a physical form. But that’s the fruit of the Spirit. But the fruit of the believer is for us to reproduce ourselves. And so if you lead someone else to Christ, that is your fruit. Also the Bible Tolls talks about the fruit of false teachers and their fruit is of course their converts which are not believers but are confused with false doctrine that comes from false teachers. That’s when it talks about in Matthew 7 when it says you shall know them by their fruits.
It’s not saying you’ll know them by their works because the cult members look really good. They look better than genuine Christians sometimes as far as the good works and the good deeds that they do. It’s saying you’ll know them by their fruit, which is their converts. I don’t have to travel to Salt Lake out in Utah to find out that the Mormon organization is corrupted. All I have to do is examine those Mormon missionaries that come to my door, asking them a couple of good questions about what they believe.
In contrast with the Bible, I find out that they are corrupt fruit, and therefore the tree they came off of, which which is the Mormon organization out in Utah is a corrupt organization. The same thing is true with the Jehovah’s Witnesses. I don’t have to travel to New York to go to the head of the Watchtower Society to find out the organization is corrupt. All I have to do is examine their fruit when they come knocking on my door and ask a couple of good questions about what they believe as contrasted with the Bible.
I find out that I have corrupt fruit standing at my door and they come off of a corrupt tree which the headquarters is up in New York for the Watchtower Society. Well, the Bible tells us that the fruit of the believer is another believer. If I were an apple tree and you were to look for fruit on my branches, you would expect little apples to appear on my branches, wouldn’t you? If I were an orange tree, you would expect little oranges on my branches.
Since I make Christian tree as a believer, then you would expect little baby Christians to hang off of my branches and that’s really what the Bible is saying, that every Christian should be fruit bearing and that we should reproduce ourselves. As we look forward here in this chapter 8 of Luke in verse 13, we have in the parable of the sower, they on the rock are they, which when they hear receive the word with joy and they have no root which for a while believe in time of temptation fall away.
So these are those that kind of don’t go very far. Yet they do believe, and I believe they’re saved, but they don’t produce any fruit. And the next group is in the same category. They which fell among the thorns are they, which when they have heard they go forth and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life and bring no fruit to perfection. So I believe the second group and the third group here are the no fruit Christians.
That is those that are sewn upon the rock and seed sewn upon the thorny places or among the thorns are those which bring no fruit to perfection. You see other things seem to choke out the growth of that Christian and that Christian doesn’t grow and doesn’t become productive for the Lord. And so they bring no fruit to production. And I think many, many Christians fall into this category. Then we get to verse 15 and it says, but that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word keep it.
That’s the key word there. Keep it and bring forth fruit with patience. In other passages it tells us some 30 fold, some 60 fold, and some 100 fold. What would that mean? A 30 fold Christian would be one who in their lifetime would reproduce themselves 30 times over. A 60 fold Christian is someone that during their lifetime would reproduce themselves 60 times over. If you are a 100 fold Christian, that means in your lifetime you would have reproduced yourself a hundred times over.
Wouldn’t that be great? That would be exciting. And you know, sometimes it happens even in your death as your testimony impacts the lives of others. I have had many funerals or that believer was living for the Lord. And when they died, when we shared their testimony and gave the gospel at their funeral service, 20 or 30 forty people, family members, would come to know Christ as they grieved the loss of their loved one and heard their story of salvation told plainly and are told that nothing would please their loved one more than if they also came to know Christ as their Savior so that they might be reunited altogether in heaven one day.
And so that fruit is ongoing, sometimes even after our death, but in any case the believer is to reproduce himself or herself. And that’s what happens when a believer keeps the word, that means continues in the word, and grows and matures and begins to live and share the gospel of Jesus Christ. They become fruit bearing. And in the other gospels it talks about 30 fold, 60 fold, 100 fold. You know, that’s not too impossible at all. If you were to live thirty years after you got saved and you led one person to Christ per year, think about it, 365 and a quarter days, truly you could influence somebody by bringing them to church under the sound of a good message.
Hopefully you attend a church like that. Or you give them a good gospel track. Or you personally sit down and explain the gospel in a whole year’s time. Don’t you think you should be able to lead someone to Christ? I think so. So if you live 30 years and you led one person per year to Christ, you would be a 30-fold Christian. If you did two per year for 30 years, you’d be a 60-fold Christian. If you led three and a third people to Christ every year for 30 years, you’d be a hundred fold Christian.
Wouldn’t that be great that when you slip on into eternity, you would be leaving behind many many that have come to know Christ as Savior through you. So I believe in Luke chapter 8 we have a very clear presentation here. The seed by the wayside of those that never get saved. They hear the word but Satan steals it away right after they hear it and they do not believe. It says in the last phrase here, lest they should believe and be saved.
So they never get saved. They never believe. Then the next two groups, the seed sown on the rock and on the thorny ground, are those that do not bring fruit forth to perfection. They seem to never grow, never mature as a believer. Things of this world choke out the growth, the cares of this world, the riches, and the pleasures of this life fill up their life so that they don’t have time to grow in the things of the Lord and they don’t bring any fruit to production.
Then the last group, seeds sewn upon good ground to break into three groups, that is the thirty-fold, the sixty-fold and the hundredfold Christian, these are the ones that hear the word and they keep it, they continue and they grow. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. This is Bibleline. And we are excited about being able to be with you today. We’re going to go right now to the phone lines. The phone lines are open and the phone number is 1-800-576-3771. And I’m so glad to hear from Harold in Hollywood, Florida, my Jewish atheist friend who claims me as his pastor, which is a real compliment.
Harold, welcome to Bibleline. Good to hear your voice. It’s better to hear your poison. I know, we went off, we went silent in South Florida. Yeah, I know. And it’s lucky I taped a lot of your programs, so I play them back, but I’m behind in all the updates, so I won’t waste too much of your time because I know the believers are on there and I’m the Jew-A-she-it-a-believer. So, I’m glad to hear, how you feeling? Good. I’m feeling great and I hope you’re in good health.
Well when I speak to you I’m in better health. Oh, thank you. Thank you so much. You know on the internet you can certainly catch our programs. I hope you can hear them that way. But I don’t have a computer. Ah! Well then… I do. I asked the screener, how can that be handled? He gave me the information. I can give it to one of my friends who has a computer. There you go. And they can download them for you in MP3 format and make CDs for you and you’ll be able to hear the programs.
programs well i take care of that she’s a she’s a nurse or uh… or or and her office and give it up that she knows about you also they’re all most of the people that i that i speak about uh… with you and everything they’re pretty cool they’re pretty cool and by the way they happen to be all believers wow wonderful they but they don’t have however i i i’m glad you’re hanging out with believers are all that’s great All my friends are believers.
But one question and here’s how it all started. The other night, I saw a t-shirt. It said, what would Jesus do? Is that what would he do? What would Jesus do is a common Christian. Okay. And I’m sure that you are the authority on the Bible talk and you speak truth. And that’s good. So I said, I’m going to call Dr. Hine. And here’s the question, because I don’t want to take time away from the believers. What is going to be with a YouTube Bible tour, and in between football games, there’s a commercial.
I switch over to Money Talk. And that’s the Feeding Broadcasting Network, or TBM. OK. All right. Now, the other day I punch in, and here’s what I hear. Benny Hinn. And here’s the question. He’s asking people. he bought a new jet and he shows it on t.v. and he says he needs ten thousand dollars or one thousand dollars to fuel the jet so he can get the word out. One thousand to ten thousand. That was on his show. Can you define to me what does seed, so or seed, what does that mean?
Well they have just really run with that where they can get you to give to their organization, they try to say that if you are farming, you plant seed, and obviously you get more seed back when the fruit or crop comes to fruition. But they’re trying to say if you give a gift to them, you’re going to get back more than you gave, which is not necessarily true, at least here in this world. You might get rewards in heaven.
But only if you’re giving to those that are doctrinally sound and are pleasing ministries to God or I think it’s a negative. I think you’re going to come up with a negative return on your investment if you’re giving wrongly. The Bible tells us that we’re not to give God’s speed or God’s blessing to organizations which teach doctrines that are not in line with Scripture. So I would think that that could possibly turn out to be a negative for you.
The thing of the matter is this is going on and on for the past weeks with the money, you know, send it, they’re going to cure your bankruptcy, they’re going to, I mean these people are believing this and they had sent me their last time. However, that was one thing, you know, that I saw all week. All week it was money talk. My question is how to get this fast, why they use the name of Jesus. Now that to me is like using the name in vain, is that correct?
I believe you’re exactly right. And you know, I think many of these are not really true, true believers. They are. The Bible warns about this. There are many false teachers, and he warns us not to be deceived. The only way you can be safe from reception is to know your Bible well and stay in the Bible and compare what these preachers are saying as compared to the Bible. Bible, and that light of the Scriptures exposes them as being false.
It says in Isaiah, if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. Okay. Now for my thought, I know that you always say 3-16, right? John 3-16, yes. And that, well, is that first? At the end, he says something about the only way, and those, if that’s an accept that they burn hell right i don’t know about that it’s implied in a verse but there are other verses that say exactly that if you don’t trust christ as the only means of your salvation uh…
then yes you will not go to heaven but you will burn and help okay so why isn’t that applied people like the penny hins and the over all these people that are conning people out of their money where’s the punishment well it does apply to them and i think they’re going to get there’s one day when they stand before the Lord. I think they’re in the category of Matthew 7, 22, when Christ says, many will stand before me in that day and say, Lord, Lord, didn’t we preach in your name and heal in your name and do many wonderful works in your name and Christ will say, I never knew you.
Depart for me either work iniquity, Matthew 7, 22 and 23. I think there There are many who claim that they are Christian and represent Christ and really do not. Christ will say I never knew you, even though they claim that they preached in the name of Christ, healed in the name of Christ, and did wonderful works in the name of Christ Christ that I never knew you. By the way, I listened to it. You were taken off because you know you’re a man of Bible the way I would listen to it, and they don’t want to have opponents like that on that.
It all started with the Robinson show when you were not allowed to give your opinion, your an enemy. I understand that and I’m sure that’s what happened to us. Okay, so now I’m going to let the believers get on to you. I still have your mailing address and I hope you’re getting my money orders. I am. Thank you so much Harold and you have a wonderful day. And you take care and as we say in Chinese, Shalom. I didn’t know that was Chinese Shalom.
Harold, a lot of people have been praying for you and are glad to hear your voice and we appreciate your calling in today. We have Jacob in Tampa, Florida. Jacob, welcome to Bible Life. My question actually gives you a little background in your familiar with Kingsfall when he had the army in the field at one time. he commanded them not to eat until they the vengeance on their enemies but his son had not heard the commandment and found some honey when they were out in the field and did eat the honey are you familiar with that uh…
go ahead continue ok well the the tip and that was a thing you know the there’s a story you know it goes into detail but over in proverbs following actually gives like a commandment in in proper was to if you found honey my son you know he did and that’s the line of david and file man and the other line with fall and johnathan uh… with the line of fall where that solid told his army not to eat anything and uh…
there is a controversy because his son did that i really bring it up because a diabetic uh… you know if he sees the commandment eat honey and is i mean that those things in following proverbs they may be more general they’re not more like specific command to be taken in all cases and maybe a divided diabetic wouldn’t necessarily shouldn’t honey you thought i thought we say so even though there’s a bible commandment in problems that says he’d honey if you find it uh…
i thought about where that comes from and you go back to that uh… that problem out in the field where saw So, you know, command is Army, not Ead, son Jonathan found some honey and ate it because he hadn’t heard the commandment and some of it. Right. I don’t know that the stories are related there, but I’ll go ahead and take a look at that and maybe we’ll get back to you on that tomorrow. But certainly, honey is one of those things that will help you understand build up your natural amenities and is obviously very, very helpful to you.
but also is a different kind of a sugar which I think you can assimilate honey a little bit easier than you could Some of the other sugars that come to us in other ways, so I’ll take a look at that And I sure do thank you Jacob. We’re coming up on our break. So we’re gonna have to Pick up this call again tomorrow or I just will bring it up tomorrow and try to comment on that for you But thanks for that That question we appreciate that we’re gonna go to break time here and we’ll come back and do the second half of Bibleline.

And there we’ll do the baptism at three o’clock Sunday afternoon the 17th of September. We have lots of all fair questions and we have also live callers calling in and we We want to invite you also to call in at 1-800-576-3771. We’re going to go right now to Betty in Citrus County and Betty, welcome to Bibleline your own year. Yes, good morning once again, Brother Lindstrom. Bob and I were so happy to hear Harold’s voice. We wanted if he was well or not.
But I’d like to do a tuition-happy new year if I may. Well, wonderful. I don’t know that he can hear you. The problem is that they took us off the station in South Florida and he says he believes that because of the doctrine that we have that he said they, most people don’t realize, but that station down there Miami had from six o’clock to ten o’clock in the morning pure Roman Catholic teachings. Oh my God. We came on a ten o’clock and we were obviously on the other side of the fence and I think that finally was the straw that…
The camel’s back. There you go. Yeah, it would be the Bible versus the Roman Catholic catechism. Well, if I may also just mention it anyway for the believers, the Jewish religion called it Rosh Hashanah the New Year. And we, well, they also call it Yom Trewa, the Feast of the Blowing, which is why the Shofar is blown so many times. As you teach, and I believe also it’s significant of the future taking away, catching away of the believers by the Lord.
And so I’d like to just say, La Shana, Tovatik, Sootehu, to all of our Jewish friends that are listening. And that means may you be inscribed for a good year. I pray that their name would be inscribed in the Lamb’s Book of Life. We’re going to be having a little bit of a service here for a Jewish man it is asked to come over. And what they do traditionally is they take pieces of apple and they dip them in the honey signifying of hoping for a sweep year.
So I thank you, Brother Lindstrom, and I just want to say Hark Sumia. Happy holiday to all of our Jewish friends. Okay. And we’re praying how world’s so amazing. Amen. Thank you, Betty. And next week, the 22nd of September could be the Rapture Day. that be something whatever your Christ comes he’ll probably come on the feast of trumpets. We’re going to John down in Riverview Florida and John welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Good morning. Good morning. I’m fine.
I got a question about inheritance in the Old Testament. I believe it says that inheritance, not in the Old Testament, but what did it say about it in the New Testament? I don’t know that it says anything about it in the New Testament, primarily because in the Old Testament you had a… The nation of Israel and it gave instructions as concerning the family and the inheritance being passed on down. The New Testament primarily is addressed to us, the Church, and we have heavenly promises.
The Jewish people have the earthly promises. God will still carry out those earthly promises to Israel, but I believe that it’s just not there. But basically it was to carry on, you So in those olden days you had the whole family. There was one person that was really the, like the patriarchal father and he was spiritually responsible for his family but also was the one that was I guess the inheritor himself and would pass along that inheritance to the firstborn who would be the heir and would could carry on that position.
But we don’t have that tradition in the New Testament with us, the Church. But in any case, we do pass inheritances on down. If you have anything left when you die, which nowadays it seems like everything gets eaten up, then somebody in your family or your children might share. However, you set up your will for them to inherit. Man is set up for my three children to divide equally, but my daddy gave his firstborn son the inheritance of a bunch of property up in Georgia and all.
And it’s just cause the rift in the family, not with me, but with some of my brothers and all. And I just, you know, I know the Bible says it’s supposed to get the firstborn, so I don’t get it out of my opinion. I wouldn’t lose a sleepover. The Bible warns of Luke chapter 12 about covetousness and and how a big problem arose there where there was a dispute over how the inheritance would be split up. Obviously Christ said your minds are in the wrong place because you are covetous and he spoke about how there are more important things which are spiritual and eternal than the earthly inheritance we can get here.
Thank you John for calling in. I hope I helped a little bit. And obviously there is a division in your family over that inheritance. You might ask him to read Luke chapter 12 where Christ spoke about that and maybe that will help someone. We have Othear, anonymous in Clearwater, saying, explain the rich young ruler when it says he will not inherit the kingdom of God unless he gives up everything. If you read carefully, there are two concepts going on here in that passage in Matthew chapter 19.
We find in verse 21 Jesus said unto him, Matthew 19 verse 21, If I will be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shall have treasure in heaven. There he is talking about rewards after you become saved, and the last phrase here has the two concepts that are going on. He says, and come, and then he says, and follow me. Now in order to be saved we simply come to Christ, we don’t bring anything.
We come as we are. I like that Him just as I am, I come without one plea, but that thy blood was shed for me. So we simply come to Christ and receive salvation as God’s free gift. Then we follow Christ in discipleship and that’s where we end up having treasures in heaven. We find that Jesus when he explains the passage later, we find in verse 28, Christ says, you which have followed me in the regeneration, which is the new birth.
It says in the last phrase of verse 29, will inherit eternal life. So if you just simply come to Christ and you become born again, then you will inherit eternal life. But then it says also here in verse 29, everyone that have forsaken houses or brothers or sisters or mother or wife or children or lands for my name’s sake, she’ll receive a hundred fold. That’s the treasure in heaven. So you get a hundred fold return on whatever you invest after you’re saved in the way of laying up treasures in heaven.
And a hundred fold return, by the way, is a 10,000% return on your investment. I don’t know of a better investment than that, do you? If you go to the bank, you’re going to get maybe a couple of cents on every dollar back. But if you invest with the Lord, you get a 10,000% return on your investment or you get a 100 back for every one you invest. So obviously that’s a great investment. So you’re missing the point here.
You simply come to Christ and you inherit eternal life. You are In the regeneration or the new birth verse 28 and then verse 29 says you inherit, which is a gift, eternal life. But then if you forsake things and give things up and you give to the poor and so on, then you will receive a hundredfold return on your investment. So I hope that helps a lot there. Alright, we are having another offer question here. Benjamin, in clear words, water says, are we born with a sleeping spirit?
And the answer is that we are born body, soul, and spirit. We are a triune being and our spirit is very much awake and alive, but it is cut off from God, so it’s considered spiritually dead. So in other words, if you’re an unbeliever, your spirit, which is the part of you, the non-material part of you, that allows access to the spirit world can really do well in receiving information from the spirit world from Satan and his angels. In the Bible, of course, we find there are those who are witches and those that go into the occult areas and actually communicate with Satan’s angels and receive spiritual information which is wrong.
But for the believer, once you become born again, your spirit is no longer cut off from God which is what spiritual death is. Now you can receive things from God. Let me quote 1 Corinthians 2, 14. The natural man, that’s the unsaved man, receive not the things of the Spirit of God for their foolishness in him. Neither can he know them because they are spiritually discerned. So the unsaved man can’t receive things from God’s Spirit, and the Bible pretty much is nonsense and foolishness to him.
But he can get involved with Satan and receive spiritual information, so his Spirit is very much alive. And it’s dead to God. But once you trust Christ, it says in Ephesians 2 1, and you have He quickened or you have He made alive who were dead in trespasses and sins. So we were spiritually dead, but are made alive or quickened at the moment of belief. But it doesn’t mean that our spirit is sleeping. It’s simply not able to receive from God until we become born again.
I hope that helps. We are, by the way, on a news station in the Pensacola area and not reaches all the way into Alabama, into Mobile, and also Pensacola and everything in between and even beyond. So we’re excited about being on the air up there and I hope you’re enjoying our broadcast on the news station that we’re on. I think it’s Pensacola 1090 on the AM dial of your radio. We have a family in Pensacola, Florida just called in and they wanted to know the time of the resurrection of the righteous dead.
When does that happen? I’m guessing here. And we find the resurrection of the Old Testament saints occurs at the end of the annual 70th week or at the end of the seven years of tribulation. You read about it in Revelation 20 where it talks there about the first resurrection and it’s referring to the tribulation saints and the Old Testament saints being given their resurrection bodies at that time. Now for us living in the church age, we are a separate group to ourselves and will be resurrected or given our resurrection bodies at the rapture seven years ahead of when the Old Testament saints get theirs.
In other words, I’m going to get my resurrection body seven years ahead of Daniel, ahead of Isaiah, ahead of Jeremiah, ahead of Abraham and so on. The Old Testament Saints have to wait till the end of the tribulation period, but we believers in the church age will get ours at the rapture. We have David in the Leon, Florida, and that is just a little bit north of the land, Florida. Welcome to the program, David. Good. Good. Good. Appreciate what you’re doing, especially in light of what you said about the radio station in South Florida that Harold was listening to that got cut off.
Yes. I don’t know if you’re familiar with Southwest Radio Church, but since January I’ve gotten information from them that they’ve been taken off like 23 or 24 stations. We’re doing the same thing you’re doing. that bought communication, Harold Camping and the Roman Catholic Church. I was just thinking a light of how the Bible says the night comeeth when no man can work. Is that applicable to the sort of thing where the truth is just being quenched and snuffed out by people that are going to make sure that…
I believe that’s true. The TBN network took Hal Lindsey off last year because he was seemingly to them pro-Israel. Here’s a so-called Christian station, Nepal and Jan network. And I think Jan made that decision and kicked Hal Lindsey off. And now most recently they’ve kicked Zola Levitt off of the TBN network again for being to pro-Israel and not siding with the Palestinians. So it’s amazing what’s happening now to Christian programming. We are possibly in danger of getting kicked off if we aren’t politically correct according to whatever standards they have and if we’re not religiously correct with whatever the ecumenical movement or whatever’s going on is all about.
So absolutely, if you speak the truth now, as you may get yourself in trouble. I was wondering that from the standpoint of your original station there in Richmond, Virginia, but you said that went Hispanic. Yeah, they changed the, they sold it and went completely different format. Right. Okay. Well, we’ll be praying for you guys sure to appreciate what you’re doing here in the land floor area and how it reaches out to everybody. Wonderful. Thank you, David. David up there in the land area actually on the air up here in the Leon, Florida.
Alright, and we have Bob in Minnesota while calling in off air. He says, is Tung’s the easiest miracle to fake? And I would have to say yes, absolutely. Anybody can do the gibberish. And what is amazing? It’s a gift and yet they oftentimes teach people how to speak in tongues. I used to really be curious about all these things and I would buy tapes and books on how to speak in tongues. I’ve read every kind of imaginable thing, everything from putting marbles in your mouth and trying to speak with them in your mouth or maybe squeezing your mouth or your vocal cords when you try to speak and try to mess up the sounds and obviously if it’s a gift you don’t need to do anything but this is kind of the craziness of it but they teach you how to do that and usually people just kind
of fake it in order to get along with the group and I don’t think that they’ve got the gift but the gift today is gone. The tongues is gone, what we have as a gibberish, which is not the biblical gift at all. Alright we have Veronica in Richmond, Virginia, off air calling in. She said she needs a couple scriptures on servitude. Well the Bible tells us that we all should be disciples or servants of the Lord and the Greek word, doulas, is translated servant in the New Testament really means a bond slave.
Slavery was not obviously something that you would want to be, you would not want to be a slave in the time of Christ. And yet many believers were slaves in the Roman Empire, they were slavery. And yet the Christians and Paul included took that term and turned it around and made a beautiful term because he said that he was a voluntary slave for Christ. And as believers, we ought to do that. I think Romans 12, 1 and 2 would be great where it says, I plead with you, brethren, in view of the mercy that God has had upon you, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice for Christ.
And you know, that’s really what it is. It means you are willing to spend your life for Christ, whatever you want you to do, that you would present your body as a living sacrifice. Not be conformed to this world, but be transformed through the Scriptures to the renewing of your mind. You will discover what is God’s will for your life. You will see God working in your life. So I would just suggest to you Veronica Romans 12 1 and 2.
And most of the letters, the epistles of Paul begin with Paul telling us proudly. Although he was born a free man, he was a servant, the Greek word do-loss, a bond slave, a voluntary slave for Christ. He presented his life. to Christ to use it however you know if you’re a slave you do whatever the master says and as a believer when we become disciples we submit ourselves voluntarily to be his slave to do whatever he would call upon us to do Veronica thank you for that question that’s a good one we have Debbie in Land of Lakes Florida she’s witnessing to a Jehovah’s Witness and uses Mark 13 13 about the end and you’ll be saved.
Please help. Well, Mark 1313, the enduring to the end is talking about physical salvation. It’s talking about those living in the tribulation period who are saved if they endure to the end of that tribulation period will be saved physically to live into the thousand year reign of Christ. It’s not talking about eternal salvation. The same is true over in Matthew 24, 13, where it says the same thing. He that endures to the end shall be saved. But the end there is the end of the tribulation period.
And we note that it says in chapter 24 of Matthew in verse 22 that except the tribulation period would be shortened just to be seven years in length. You should know flesh be saved. If Christ didn’t come back and stop the tribulation period and end it with just seven years, that mankind, if the army get were allowed to continue, would destroy himself. So all life on the planet would be extinguished. But those that do endure to the end of the tribulation period will be physically spared to live in the thousand year reign of Christ.
And I believe if you tie Matthew 2413 with Matthew 2422, that connection will give you clearly in the context of the fact that it is talking about a physical salvation. And many times the word saved is used in that way. We know that when Paul was in a terrible storm out there in the Mediterranean Sea, he received word from an angel saying that if everybody stayed on board they would be saved or spared. So Paul made that announcement, except you buy it in the ship, you cannot be saved.
He was talking about a physical deliverance. So everybody listened and paid attention and they all made it safely to shore when the ship broke up and they managed to get safely to shore all of them. So sometimes the word saved is used of a physical salvation, not an eternal salvation. So Debbie in Land of Lakes I hope that helps you. We have a call from Massachusetts and we have George in East Long Meadow, Massachusetts. Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air.
Good morning. How are you doing good? Purification I need here. We say absent from the body present with the Lord, right? We die and we go directly to be with the Lord That’s great as opposed to First that’s long in for their words says that getting Christ shall rise first That’s referring to the body So if you’ll notice verse 14 of first thessalonians for it tells us that if we believe that Jesus died in rose again and even so them also would sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
So they’re with him. He brings their souls back with him at the Rapture to the upper atmosphere. He shouts and their bodies are then brought up from the earth and body and soul. They are reunited. So the body is spoken of as sleeping. The soul doesn’t sleep and the soul is absent when the body present with the Lord. But it’s a new body. Yeah. Absolutely. It’ll be like Christ’s body. it will be a body will live in forever. Apparently we will not need sleep nor will we need to eat, but I think we will eat for enjoyment in heaven, but not because we need to fuel our bodies.
We will not have to take the medicine, huh? That’s right. No. No worry about indigestion and all those kind of things that we have with this body. You would speak about tongues again. What I had a question there was the difference between what happened in Acts 2, verse 4, and Acts 19, 6? Well, the only difference was that these believers that were, I mean these disciples have done the became believers there received that gift of tongues there. And it was a witness to Paul and the others that accompanied him that were Jewish that they had received the gospel.
But that was a temporary. It was assigned to Jews. It was assigned of the fact that it was a Gentile age. And now these gifts of languages were given to evangelize people in a Gentile language during this present age. But it no longer is necessary today because we have Gentiles everywhere that no Christ. Right. But it happened more than once. Obviously. Three times in the book of Acts. Act chapter 10 to 10 and 19 now As far as the tongues go, I mean, it seems to be a lot of confusion there If I understand it correctly It wasn’t that they were speaking in tongues so much as the people were hearing them in their language I don’t believe that I believe they actually spoke in those languages and they heard them in the language that they were born and raised with And that was the miracle if you read acts chapter two there
It says, how here we every man in the language where we were born and raised. So the gospel was getting out in a Gentile language to Jewish people that were there at Pentecost from all over the world. Sorry we have to run, but we’re out of time.
