Most Christians are not aware of how serious it is to add to what Jesus Christ has finished! It is the difference between whether or not a person is saved. It is the difference between heaven and hell.

So we’re excited about being able to be with you today and we’re going to go talk about the Bible for a few minutes. It’s difficult for some people to comprehend that salvation has nothing to do with our performance, it has nothing to do with our behavior, it has nothing to do with our obedience, it has to do with the performance of Christ, the obedience of Christ and the work that Christ performed on our behalf at the cross.

And our part is simply to receive that payment that Christ made for us at the cross of Calvary. And when we do by trusting Christ as our Savior, God forgives us and gives us the gift of eternal life. works He does not have to do with what happens after our destination is determined. By the way, did you know that belief or unbelief is what determines destination? Unbelievers go to hell. Believers go to heaven. Jesus said in John 10, chapter 3 and verse 18, He is a believer on Christ, is not condemned.

But he is a believer if not, is condemned already. Because, because it says, he hath not been. He is not believed. So the unbelievers can then because of his unbelief, the believer is not condemned because he has placed his belief or trust in Christ as Savior. And then that determines the destination. But then works. The believer will be judged one day by works to determine degree of reward or loss of reward in heaven. The unbeliever, did you know this, that the The unbeliever will have their works judged and a judgment called the Great White Stone Judgment, which is for unbelievers only.

And their works will determine the degree of punishment that they will receive in health. Did you know that? There are degrees of punishment in hell. Unbelievers will be affected by their works, but not as to destination. That’s determined by their unbelief. But at destination when they arrive, they will get a degree of punishment based upon their works or their deeds. Believers will go to heaven because they believe or trust it on Christ, and they will arrive in heaven being at a judgment called a judgment seat of Christ.

Their works will be evaluated to determine a degree or loss of reward in heaven. So there is an important place for works, but not for our salvation. were saved by grace, and many people don’t realize that the word grace really excludes by definition all works. In Romans 11, 6 it says, if by grace, then it is no more of works. Otherwise, grace is no more grace. But if it be works, then it’s no more grace. Otherwise, work is no more work.

There are opposites. If it’s daytime, it can’t be nighttime. Otherwise, daytime wouldn’t be daytime. If it were nighttime, it couldn’t be daytime. Otherwise nighttime wouldn’t be nighttime. It can’t be daytime and nighttime at the same time That’s what we’re talking about here If it’s by grace that it can’t be by works Otherwise grace is a grace, but if it be by works that it can’t be by grace otherwise work is at work You cannot mix the two it is impossible and so the salvation Is by grace?

apart from any human works Let me quote you a great quote by Dr. M. Ar-Dahan. He was certainly one of the greats and a mentor of mine as a millenn believer. He in his book that he wrote on the book of Hebrews published by Zonervin Publishing makes this wonderful quote which I think helps really bring clarification to what we’re talking about. He says, and I quote, there. ThereRecomm masculottenham to Jesus for salvation and coming after Christ for service. Having to Christ makes one a believer while coming after Christ, all believers are not disciples.

All believers are not disciples to become a believer who accepts the invitation of the gospel. To be a disciple one obeys the change to a life of dedicated service and separation. comes through the sacrifice of Christ. Discipleship only comes by sacrifice of self and surrender to his call for devoted service. Salvation is free, but discipleship involves paying the price of a separated walk. Salvation cannot be lost because it depends on God’s faithfulness, but discipleship can be lost because it depends upon our faithfulness.

Dr. Emmar Dahan in his book on Hebrews published by Zonarun. That’s a great clarification because there is a difference between salvation and discipleship. And a person is saved based upon what Christ did, not what we do for Him. When we trust in His finished work, God saves us, then the second decision, which I made a year after I made my first decision, I decided to serve the Lord and become a disciple. That’s where things really happen in your life as you begin to see God working in your life, joy, happiness, and rewards and blessings all come as a result of our service to the Lord.

In Matthew 721, many people point to this verse that says, many will say to me in that day, Lord Lord. And Christ said not everyone that say if Lord Lord will enter into the kingdom of heaven, but only those that do the will of my Father, which is in heaven. What is interesting about that verse is that the will of the Father for you to be saved is that you recognize you cannot work to be saved but trust Christ as your Savior.

But the will of God for one who is a believer is that you now serve Him out of gratitude and God will bless you and reward you for your faithful service. you cannot mix the two. In John 6.40 there is a great answer. It says, this is Nanto the will of the Father, and it is a great verse, that whosoever acknowledgeeth the Son, that it means you recognize and acknowledge who he is, that he is God who took on flesh, that he is the Savior who by his death and shed blood paid your sin dead and full, was buried and rose again from the dead.

It says that those who would believe on this one that they acknowledge who he is would have everlasting life. So the will of God is the same all that we believe. That’s what we just read in the very words of Christ in John 3. He to believe it on Christ is not condemned, but he to believe it not is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. We are so excited about being able to be with you every day.

I’m Dr. Englund from Mrs. Bibleline, and I hope that you are saved by faith alone in Christ alone. If you are trusting in any works to save you, think about it. Think about it. You’re not trusting Christ. If I were to ask you to trust my small boat tied up to a dock, and you were to step off the dock and put one foot on the boat, are you trusting the boat? No. on the dock. If you were to put both feet on the boat and you still have both hands on the dock, are you trusting the boat?

Of course not. You’re still trusting the dock. If you take and put both feet on the boat and take one hand off the dock but you still have one hand holding on to the dock, are you trusting the boat? No, you’re still trusting the dock. To be trusting the boat means you cut all ties to the dock, you don’t have any body part connected to the dock, you don’t have your hand on a rope, you don’t have your hand on the dock, you are simply trusting the boat fully to hold you up, and that’s what it is to trust Christ.

You have to cut all strings to baptism, church membership, to commandments, obedience, performance, doing whatever the will of God in as far as the Christian life, that has nothing to do with your salvation. In order to be saved, you must recognize that, because it says in Romans 11, 6, if by grace that it is no more of works. Otherwise grace is not grace, but if it be of works, and this is the important part to catch, then it is no more of grace.

I would hate to have you stand before God, having no grace, no mercy, because that would mean you would go to hell. The Bible says if you had any works to grace, you have violated grace. It is no longer grace and you will have no grace when you stand before the Lord. We need God’s grace, His mercy, but grace is only offered with the exclusion of any human work or merit. Grace is the absence of any human work. I’m Dr.

Englund from this is Bible and we’re going to go to the fun ones. We have done down in North Palm Beach, Florida and done. Welcome to Bibleline the Great and have you on the air. Hello. Hi Don, you’re on the air. Good. Thanks for taking my call. The reference that you made about a month or so ago that the Rapture date you sort of pinpointed for Rosh Hashan. Rosh Hashanah and it will be Friday this week. I’m canceling all my radio shows if we go out on Friday.

Well, I’ve already told my kids what to do with my clothes and everything else. I’m not saying he’s coming this year, but whatever year he comes, he’ll probably be on the show. I know. I just wanted to make sure. Now, did you have a specific scripture reference, or were there a number of scripture references on that? It’s all consolidated in Leviticus chapter 23. You have seven feast days that God gave to Israel. The first four were literally fulfilled on the day by Christ in his first coming events.

He died on the feast of Passover. The first Corinthians 5, 7, for even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us. He was buried during the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and spoke of his sinless body. And then he rose on the Feast of First Fruits day. First Corinthians 15, 20-22 tells us that Christ is the first fruits of the resurrection. Then the fourth feast Pentecost was fulfilled atrial on the day. It says in Acts 2, 1, when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all 7 for even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us.

He was buried during the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the spoke of his sinless body. And then he rose on the Feast of First Fruits Day. First Corinthians 15, 20 through 22 tells us that Christ is the first fruits of the resurrection. Then the fourth feast Pentecost was fulfilled atria on the day. It says the next 2-1 when the day of Pentecost is fully come, they were all together. together with one accord and the Holy Spirit came upon all the new believers.

And so all of those were fulfilled right on the day. The next one, which I think will conclude this age that Pentecost began, is the Feast of Trumpets. And so whatever your Christ comes back, I think it’s going to happen on that day. The Feast of Trumpets is on the 22nd every year. No, they go by the lunar calendar. So it slides back and forth just like Passover does every but this year it spokeswoman second Pelicans the Levitic frivol chapter what was that twenty three of Leviticus has all seven of those feast days right there for you to look at and they all are picture of the the first four the first coming events of Christ the latter three are in the fall and picture the second coming events of Christ okay from the viddicists twenty three and what verses the whole chapter all chapter

but thank you so much thank you god bless your ministry Alright, God bless you and thank you, Don, calling in from North Palm Beach. Off the air, we have Edgar in Petersburg, Virginia, calling in. We’re on the station up there in Chester, and it’s heard all over that area. He has a question, according to Romans 7 and 1 Corinthians 7, 39. Chapter 7 verse 39 says you are only to remarry in the Lord. If your partner dies, it says you are free to remarry, but it says in 1 Corinthians 7 39, so you need to marry a believer.

And otherwise you can remarry. If your partner dies, you are free to remarry. Grindens 739 and Romans 7 talks about that you’re free from that marriage contract when your partner dies. Alright we have Gary down in Bradenton, Florida and Gary, welcome to Bible Life. Good morning Doctor. How’s your weather down there in Bradenton? We’ll you all have a rain here this morning. Oh yeah, a lot of rain clouds are just out there now and hopefully the sun will be what can you do for you today Gary?

Well and I know this is probably going to be a continual discussion just like we had on the Trinity and obviously it’s your favorite subject and that’s the issue of salvation and if your listeners have bibles in front of them out there if you can turn to Hebrews chapter 6 and obviously we know the verses in question are four six. Well, and I’d like to actually include four through eight in the discussion because I think that is also important and you know obviously I think it’s fair to say the natural reading of this text is that people can lose their salvation That’s the natural reading of and that doesn’t mean that that’s what it says But that is the natural reading if you were to read it the first few times And then you have to piece it together to come to a different if you’re totally unfamiliar with the rest of the

Bible you would maybe come to that conclusion but otherwise no. I would disagree. I agree. You have to utilize other verses to read this but when you read this particular passage to interpret it the way you want or believe that it should be interpreted, you have to say that they’re talking about people falling away from doing good work, not falling away from salvation. And so the author of Hebrews is just saying, oh, by the way, if people fall away and do bad works, it’s a better way to view this verse, that the author of the Hebrews’ book is really saying, look, these people who fall what?

Now you say from works, but I think the passage is indicative of the other, because it says, since they again crucify themselves, the Son of God, and put him to open shame. Now there wouldn’t be a reason to put that added phrase in there for your interpretation. And then if you go down to verse 8… It talks about what’s going to happen to these people and it talks about that these people are going to end up being burned. And I think it’s fair to say when we look at the word burned in the scripture, people going to…

Now, please let me continue because this is an important issue. Obviously, it’s one of your favorite issues. If you go to Hebrews 10, which I know you do, and by the way, I have listened to your CD three times on this subject. I read your two or three pamphlets on this subject. And one of your main premises that you say that this can’t be referring to falling away from salvation is because it depends on one’s work. And I think that’s a fair premise.

However, there is another view that you could make it work by saying that you’re falling away from your belief God or the resurrection. It’s not that they’re salvation, it’s their non-belief because if to get to salvation, it can take non-belief, not works, not non-works, but non-belief to get them out of salvation. And just real briefly, if you go to Hebrews 10, interpret this particular passage as dealing with God spanking his own people. I think and I know there’s a quote of Scripture the Lord will judge his people, but I think if you go back to some of the Old Testament scriptures, he’s gonna judge his people to Basically to hell, but if you look at verse 39 in chapter 10 I think it’s clear that but we are not though to destruction But of those who have faith to the print again the soul your in the soul

the whole nation. What that the soul. I think you said I think it’s the shoyle. Right but shrink back to destruction. Wouldn’t be referring to believers. Is that a fair interpretation? Yeah, verse 39 improves. You can’t be lost because it says we’re none of them who draw back on the prediction or hell. But of those that believe to the saving of the soul. Once you believe your soul is saved or delivered from hell, you’ll never go to hell. Well, okay, that’s okay.

That’s but I think what he’s saying there is that he’s saying look we aren’t those people that are part of because we are continuing to believe in the gospel we are not those who are going to shrink back you can’t if if if you you can’t go back to something what you want had something i.e. salvation and they shrink back to destruction they came from destruction and then they shrunk back because they’re non-belief not because of work because of non-belief aid of Hebrews 6 about people being burned.

It’s not talking about people who believe one saved, always saved. Alright, let me go back and talk about this a little bit because of the time here. But in verse 8 of chapter 6, it’s not talking about the person burning in hell. It’s talking about the fruit of their labors being burnt up, which is of course speaking of loss of reward and that I think is the whole text here is that if you are getting away from the Lord you’re not going to have the reward you could have had.

Verse 7 talks about if you have a piece of property and you farm it and you dress it and so on then you’re going to have the crops that will come forth and you’ll have the reward of those crops and that blessing from God. But if you neglect your property all you’re going to the storms and briars grow up on it which would cause you to curse and those things would all just wind up being burned up because that’s all you can do with a field full of briars.

You might as well just set the thing on fire and start all over. He’s talking here about Christians here who were of Hebrew origin. They were used to that yearly sacrifice. So some of them thought that they had to go back and offer another sacrifice. What he’s saying here, it’s impossible for you to go back and become saved again because you’re saved once and for all and forever. What you need to do is get serving again. I’ll never forget one lady that told me she had lost her salvation and I said, where in the world did it say you can do that?

And she used this passage, Gary, to prove her point. And I put on my sad face and I said, oh, my heart goes out to you. I feel so badly for you. She said, why? As I said, if this passage means what you say that it means, that you can lose your salvation, then it says here you can never get it back. I know what I do, whatever you do, it’s impossible for you to be renewed under that change of mind, that repentance brought about your salvation.

And so I feel badly you’re going to hell. There’s nothing you can do about it, nothing I can do about it. Well she changed her tune real quick and she said that she came close to losing it, she didn’t really lose it. But what it’s saying here is that if you attempt to be saved again, all you would do is crucify Christ again to yourself, obviously, because he’ll never die a second or third or fourth time. And you would put him to an open chain by saying that his death at Calvary was not sufficient to pay for all of your sins, for all eternity.

And you are obviously going back to try to crucify him again and again and again, which is exactly what happens in the Roman Catholic Mass, where they crucify Christ again at every Mass, according to the Catechism, because they have to go back and kill him again in order to get salvation again because they lose it between when they leave the mass and they commit sins during the weekend and come back for confession and penance and go back through the mass all over again.

But the falling away, if you read other portions of the scripture, the only way it’s used of saved people is that they fall from their confidence, they fall from their steadfastness and in Hebrews you can see where he’s talking about believers who have fallen away from their steadfastness and their confidence and their assurance and those themes are throughout this wonderful book. And so what is happening here is if a believer falls from his assurance and his steadfastness as a living working believer, then he doesn’t need to go back and become saved again, which is impossible.

He needs to start serving again and he’ll get in on the rewards. Time for our break. We’ve got to do Bible and Part 2 in just a moment. So keep your video tuned right where it is and we’ll be right back after this short break. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. I want to say thank you for your prayers and your gifts the Bible And we’re going to go to mobile, Alabama. We have Roger Listening I think on that a new station that we’re on and how’s the signal up there Roger? It’s, uh, it’s that’s right here. Which is probably far beyond To the west of mobile as well as we know reaches the on Pensacola over to the east Well, I’m a little bit east of mobile not much but pretty close to mobile This is a testimony.

I’d like to share I I’m retired and I spend a lot of my time watching the news I have and And I was breathing and I didn’t feel very good listening to him argue. So I set aside the news and I got the Bible on CD and I listened to you and everything and I just turned completely to God’s Word. I even put a little Bible on the back of the toilet there in the bathroom. I mean I set myself up real good.

And last night I felt the spirit of God burning in my breath so strong. I just really feel the glory of God now because I’ve set that aside and I’m focusing more in on God. And this is my scripture I’d like to share. Draw an eye on the God and He’ll draw an eye unto you. First Peter, I believe, isn’t it? Yeah. And I’ve done another one that the Lord give me. The last government on earth, the components will be iron and clay.

It says in Daniel, I believe it’s. But then there’s the rock that’s cut without hands that smites the image on the feet that speaks of Christ coming. And we’re not of the iron or the clay. We shouldn’t look to the government. to answer all our problems, but we’re part of the rock. And it’s another kingdom altogether. And if we focused on him, we’ll guarantee all the promises that he’s given us. And we should look to that rather than demand to answer our problem.

Roger, thank you for sharing that testimony. You’re absolutely right. We need to get our eyes off of this world and put our eyes on the Lord and on heaven. And the Bible tells us that we ought to be looking up. watching for Christ’s return. Thank you for that call from Mobile, Alabama. We have Dave in Bradenton, Florida and, or rather Brandon, Florida. David, welcome to Bibleline. Good morning, Dr. Hank. I’m home a little bit under the weather today, but I heard your previous webinar over Hebrews, whether you can lose your salvation.

Yes. Now, I get upset over there, but what I’d like to offer to you, would you please expound on the doctrine of justification which distinguishes Christianity as a religion of grace and faith. God is a mutable, man is mutable, God changes man. When you’re announced, justified after imputed into the righteousness of Christ, that is permanent. That’s right. I’ll be glad to do that, Dave. Okay, I’ll hang up. Alright, thank you very much. He is talking about what happens at the moment of belief in God’s court of law.

He declares you as being righteous. The word justification is a legal term and has to do with God declaring you based upon the fact that someone took your place, Jesus Christ at the cross, and the fact that he He paid your full sin debt that God could therefore apply that payment that He made for you because He paid for your sins when He died so that you could be declared now as righteous as God or as Christ is based upon the subsidiary death.

The story is told of a judge where his son was brought before him in the courtroom and The judge found his son guilty and fined him to the full extent of the law. The judge took off his robe and walked over behind the veil and he took out his wall and paid the fine for his son so his son could be set free. In the sense that’s what God did. It’s a simplistic illustration, but God declares us guilty and we are guilty of sin and therefore condemned to go to hell.

What happened was that God took off his judge’s robes, you might say, and left heaven and came to the earth and took on human flesh, and went to the cross and paid the full penalty that was ours. And then that way he could let us go free, because he is a just God and could not just dismiss the fact that we had sinned. But being a just God, because of his love, he made provision for our sin by his death on the cross of Calvary.

And isn’t that wonderful? That’s how I know I’m saved. It says in Romans chapter 5 and verse 1, Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have present tense peace with God. We’re justified already if you have been a believer in the past at the moment of your belief and were declared righteous in God’s court of law. And that’s forever. It’s permanent. It will never be undone. The Bible tells us in Corinthians we can’t be judged twice. So therefore we are saved forever once we have come to know Christ as our Savior and God has declared us righteous in his court of law.

All of the air, Benjamin, in clear water, writes in and he calls in rather, says are the 144,000 going to be with the church in heaven or are they going to stay on the earth? The 144,000 are the Jews that will be witnessing during the tribulation period, 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes, Revelation 7, 4 through 8 tells us that, and they are going to be martyred during the tribulation period, and they are not a part of the church.

The church began at Pentecost and will conclude at the event called the Rapture and the hundred-forted with thousands get saved after the Rapture and are part of Israel. And of course they’re going to come back with all of the Old Testament saints who will also come back and receive their new bodies at the Second Coming and will rule and reign with Christ during the thousand years. So, but they are not included in the group of the church of the body of Christ.

We have an anonymous entampa. He calls in and says, where does it say in the Bible that we sin every day? Well, if you look over in 1 John 1 8, John the Apostle said, if we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. It is impossible to get through the day without sinning. Because and I’m not talking about robbing banks or committing murder, but you know James says to him in James 4 17, to him that knoweth to do good and doeth it not to him and his sin.

So there are sins where we fail to live up to our responsibilities as a believer. So I found out as a little boy that I could get in a lot of trouble by doing nothing. I remember I forget one day in particular my dad came home from work and he said son you’re in trouble and I said why dad I didn’t do anything. He said that’s your problem. You were supposed to help your mom today. You were supposed to care at the garbage.

You were supposed to clean up your room and make your bed and you didn’t do anything. You’re in trouble. I learned a big lesson real quick about how you can get in trouble for not doing anything. That’s the truth with the question. If you know you ought to pray every day, Mr. Anonymous, and you don’t, then you’re sinning in that day. If you know that you ought to read your Bible every day and you don’t, you’re sinning. If you know that you ought to attend church faithfully and you don’t, you’re sinning.

If you know that you ought to give to the Lord and you haven’t given anything to Him, you’re sinning. If you know there’s somebody lost that you know needs to hear the gospel and God is putting it upon your heart to burden you with that responsibility and you don’t witness to them, you’re sinning. And we could go on and on and on about just in the area of responsibility of things that we ought to do and have not done.

We are sinning. The Prophet Samuel asked the Lord’s forgiveness because he as a prophet had not prayed faithfully for God’s people as he should have and he had sinned against the Lord. So I’ll just stop right there because we could go on, but it seems like everything we do because we have a sin nature is tainted by sin and therefore we cannot escape one day without sinning. But that doesn’t mean we can’t have victory over sin. We can as a believer.

And it doesn’t mean that we’re committing the major sins of murder. Although the Bible says if you hate someone in your heart, you have committed murder with them. If you’ve lusted after the opposite sex, you’ve committed adultery in your heart and we could go on and on. So certainly sin is a little bit broader perhaps than what you are thinking about and it is things that can be done in word or thought or deed. If you say something unkind to somebody and they’ve hurt them you probably have sinned against them and so on.

Hopefully that helps answer your question and you’re welcome to call back. If you didn’t think it did then we’ll try to deal with it some more for you. We have Lewin Tampa, the calls in and leaves an off-air question. He says, what a pistol is it that Paul says God will discipline a Christian that is the Lincoln believer? Well, 1 Corinthians 11 says in verse 30, for this cause many of your weak and sickly among you and many sleep.

And it talks about God disciplines in verse 32, then the Lincoln believer. Also, Hebrews 12 verses 6 through 11 talk about the whom the Lord loves, he chases and scurges every son that he receives. So as a believer, you’re going to be disciplined if you’re a delinquent believer. What is the difference, Lu says, between the consequence of your sin and the chasing because of sin? Well the consequence of your sin, let’s say that you get angry and you hit your fist into the wall and you go right through the sheet rock and you leave a hole.

Well… The consequence is that hole in the wall that just won’t heal itself will be there and your hurt hand. You may break your hand or break bones in your hand or cut your hand and you’ll have the pain and the consequences of that. But also the chasing would be in addition to that. So obviously you don’t want to get into a situation where you’re delinquent and you have to have consequences and chasing both. We have Ryan in St.

Pete. Welcome to Bibleline your own ear. Hi, I’m Carter doing Good good go ahead. What can I do for you? I have a, when I was listening earlier, and the guest of God, I understand, and seems like a lot of listeners don’t understand because they keep calling in and they really don’t understand the gift of God. But let me say something. In Mark, I was doing a study, and In Mark 16 verses 16 it says, he who believes and is baptized will be saved.

Obviously the baptized is not water because John said, I mean, yeah, John said I baptized with water, but he who comes after me, baptized with the Holy Spirit. So when you trust Jesus Christ, I first sinned, was buried and rose again from the dead, you are saved at that moment in time. You are baptized with the Holy Spirit. He said, I was reading on it, but he who does not believe will be condemned. That condemned is eternally and how?

And then I kept reading it. In verse 17 it says, and these signs will follow, follow, keyword follow those who believe. And I believe, like you believe it was back in the time when it first started. In my name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues. They will take up serpents and if they drink anything badly it will by no means hurt them. They will they hands on a stick and they will recover. But then when I saw that word follow and I looked over in Matthew 722 the same list there they’re counting all these things that their works.

They’re not counting what Jesus did they’re counting in these these things that would follow the early believers and nowadays people are not trust in Jesus alone, they’re counting the things that they do after, well, if they are truly saved, but if they’re not, trust in Jesus alone, then they’re not saved. So when I went over to Matthew 7.22, it says, not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, shall honor the kingdom of heaven. And it says, many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name, cast out demons in your name, and then done many wonderful works in your name, and the Lord will be clear unto them.

I never knew you because they weren’t trusting Jesus alone. And that’s all I want to say, and I’m going to hang up with them. All right. Have a good day. All right. Thank you, Ryan, and… Saint Petersburg well This is true people have difficulty rightly dividing the word separating between what God has done for us, which is salvation, and what we do for Him, which is our showing or demonstrating our appreciation and love to Him for what He’s already done for us at the cross.

If you’re a small child, you know, your parents really do everything for you. It’s their gift to you. They feed you, they clothe you, they provide a safe environment and there’s nothing really you can do as an infant or a child. But a child gives back love and appreciation and bring joy to the parents. But the child really can’t survive without what the parent gives for them and that’s what salvation is all about. God does it all and we have to trust Him just like an infant or a small child that the parent provides that eternal life for us and we receive it as a free gift.

We have Dwayne in Tampa, Florida and Dwayne welcome to Bibleline. Yes, I want to get some clarity on Acts. Acts 2.38 is Peter telling the people at Pentecost that they have to repent. That means change your mind and be baptized and baptism there is if you read that verse carefully is the baptism in the name. The Greek word is really meant to be a symbol of Christ. In other words, in the authority that Christ is given by based upon His death and showed by the cross, that when you change your mind and trust Christ, you are washed or baptized of all your sins, and you receive the forgiveness of sin and you receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

The problem comes because repent is misunderstood today. The Greek word really means to change your mind. So Peter is saying change your mind. They had rejected Christ and crucified him because they thought he was an imposter. He says in verse 36, be it known unto you all that this same Jesus that you crucified God have made both Lord and Christ. It means he is God and he is the Messiah. And they would be cleansed or washed as the meaning of baptism in the name or in the authority of what Christ did for you at the cross in His name.

And when you trust in Him, you are washed and you are saved at the moment you believe. I hope that helps. I hear you’re ready in the background. But thank you, Twain. And Acts 2.38, repent means to change your mind and basically believe on Christ. you will be cleansed or washed in the name of the Lord Jesus and you will receive the forgiveness of your sins and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. I have one quick question and I’ll hang up. The Bible talks about once you sin women glee there is no sacrifice and I’m not touching the verse up. why no one talking about it’s he was ten twenty six and really what it’s saying is that there is no more sacrifice mean there’s no additional sacrifice In other words, you’re already safe forever. The previous verse 18 says where these sins are beers are forgiven and forgotten, they remain with no more sacrifice for sins.

So you don’t need another sacrifice. And so the whole point is even if you sin willfully, you don’t need another sacrifice, but you can expect as the following verses will say that he will discipline you and thank you if you sin willfully, but you don’t need to be saved again. You don’t mean another sacrifice. Price, one time sacrifice at the cross, was sufficient to save you forever. Right. Okay. I appreciate it. Okay. Sean, that was a good question, and that does throw people off.

We have Madeline in Bradenton, Florida, and Madeline. Welcome to Babylon. Oh, good morning Hank. Good morning. I hope this passed a week at Sunday for a meal. We had a wonderful time. Oh, great. Okay. Good question for you. What are the gifts from God that he gives us like teaching him? Yeah, there are 19 different gifts of the Spirit. Some of them were temporary in nature and of ceased. And I believe that you can discover what your gift is by just, first of all, God I think lets you know as you see there is a need in a particular area.

That’s one of the first directives. And if you have the desire to meet that need… He said, I believe you have that gift. So let’s say that like you just mentioned teaching, you say, boy, you know, these people don’t understand and they need to be taught. And then you have a desire to see that that gets accomplished. And then you start teaching and you find out, wow, you have the ability to teach and you’re really communicating with these folks.

Then I believe you have the gift of teaching. and so on and so on. I think it just comes out naturally as you begin to see a need in a particular area. Now all of us are to function in all the areas of the different gifts, but we are particularly gifted at least in one area or more and that’s where we really ought to focus our attention. Pastor Hank, is there a list of these gifts listed? They’re listed in 1 Corinthians 12 and In Ephesians chapter 4 And in Romans chapter 12 and those are the three places where you’ll find the gifts and you total them all up in a 19 total but some of them 1 Corinthians, that list, some of those were temporary nature That was one of the earliest written books and as time went on They have ceased.

Good talk of you. I got to run because you’re in. Bye bye. Bye bye. That was Madelyn We are at the end of the show and we’ll be back again tomorrow. Hope you’ll join us.
