We’re going to turn to the Bible then we’ll answer your questions. We’ve got lots of off air. We’ll try to get that. we have a caller calling in all the way from California. I think we’ll go ahead and take the California call sensor calling in long distance. We’ll have a Mrs. Cohen in California. Welcome to Bibleignor on the air. Hello. Hi, you’re on the air. Hi. How you doing? Good. Welcome. Yes. I have a question for you about Christmas.

Okay. I am curious whether it’s a sin to celebrate Christmas. Oh, it’s certainly not a sin to celebrate Christmas. I believe that there’s a lot of paganism. that has been included in the modern-day celebration and we need to, I think, make it a true celebration of Christ’s birthday. But Santa seems like he’s taken the center stage, you know, and if you take the word Santa and slide the letter into the end, it becomes Satan. So I think there’s something to that that he’s the one that is welcome at the mall.

He’s the one that’s, you know, photographed with your children in the mall. He’s the one that we talk about so much and and and Jesus gets left out of his own birthday party So I think that we need to It’s not a sin, but I think we need to use it as an opportunity as a Christian I think to tell people the real meaning of Christmas and why Christ came and took on human flesh there And that’s what happened then went to the cross the guy to pay for our sins So hopefully that helps a little bit.

I don’t have a problem I’ll be celebrating Christmas and it’s a great time to tell people about Christ and about the gift of eternal life That’s the greatest gift if you go through life and you haven’t received that gift Then you’re in deep trouble because you won’t make heaven unless you receive the gift of God Which the Bible says is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord Well, we’re born again Jews. Okay. Okay, and we do believe that Jesus died on the cross for us And there’s no other way to heaven.

I I am really confused with a lot of my believing friends that, you know, with the Christmas trees and… Yeah, that’s all pagan, that’s for sure. And I don’t like the tree myself. But, you know, to tell people that Jesus was born here at our church, we have a big birthday cake, we have the children sing happy birthday to Jesus, and we talk about the birth and how he came in a very humble way being born there in a stable laden to manger.

Well they tell me that I’m trying to be legalistic by having the tree and all that stuff. Well, but I see the pagan roots of it because Christ wasn’t even born on that day. Oh right, he’s probably born in October and that’s what we teach. But the birthday of bail was celebrated on December 25th and Jeremiah 10 describes the Christmas tree. It says that they would go out and they would cut down a perfectly good tree and drag it home, nail it down and then decorate it with silver and gold.

That practice is still around to this day. But I don’t see a problem with celebrating Christmas. And I even tell people if they’re going to insist on the tree then the whole story of redemption can be told through two trees and you can use it as an object lesson. The first tree was in the garden, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and when men put a man for took of that death and ruin and sin came upon the human race.

But the second tree, by the way, also, where there was a garden where that second tree was, those who partake of the fruit on that tree, which is Christ nailed to that cross, received the forgiveness of sin and the gift of eternal life and were delivered from the curse, which is a wonderful way to illustrate the children as we look at the tree and say, the real gift is not under the tree. The gift is on the tree. It was Christ nailed to the tree as the Bible tells us he was nailed to a tree and paid our sin debt and full by his death and shed blood.

So we could use the trees as an obvious one. I don’t think anybody today is talking about bail when they celebrate that with that tree. But I think we really need to focus on Christ though if we’re going to have a tree which I don’t like to have a tree at all but if you do I appreciate you saying that yeah I know that I’m I really think it is pagan but but some people if they’re going to insist and some people just have you know there’s so much family and friends involved in and I’m not trying to condemn them I just want them to understand that I don’t see the tree I’m not trying to tell them that they’re not allowed to do that right but I just think that we need to celebrate price for who he is.

I agree. How did you find out about our program? Actually, I was looking on the website for John McArthur because he had a teaching about it this morning. And you came up with his sight. Well look at that. So that was a blessing because I’ve been trying to get somebody to answer this for years for me. Well look at that and of course you can on the internet now hear my radio program every day out there in California. Absolutely that’s great.

And God bless you. If you have direct TV we’re going to be on at 6.30 Eastern time. That’ll be 4.30 this afternoon out there in California on television. Okay. Well, Bob Leshian, thank you so much for your time. And thank you for calling in. That was Mrs. Cohen out in California. She and her husband, Jewish Believers, calling in today and finding us off of the Internet. Well, we’re going to take a look at Matthew, chapter 19 for just a moment.

We have here a rich young ruler who comes to Christ and he says, Good Master, what good Good things shall I do that I may have eternal life.” This is Matthew 19, 16. And then Christ says to him, why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, and that is God. You know, it’s interesting that we generally don’t recognize the fact that there is none good, no not one. There’s only one good, and that is God. Jesus Christ here is basically pointing out who he is and that he is good because he is God and then he goes on to say, if thou will enter into life, keep the commandments.

Well, you know, the commandments are the requirement for entering heaven, but nobody has ever been able to keep them. So, therefore, the commandments cannot save as the Bible says in Galatians 2.16, knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have been justified by believing in Christ’s Savior, not by the works of the law, for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Not one person could ever get to heaven by keeping the law.

Yet Christ brings up the law because it shows us our need, and that was the intent of the law to be a schoolmaster according to Galatians chapter 3. to bring us to Christ. And so when Christ brings that up, the fellow says to Christ, which, and of course Christ names a few of the commandments, what is the honor thy father and thy mother, and thou shalt love thy neighbors thyself? Nobody has kept those. Tell me what child have you ever seen that all the time, 100% of the time, always honored their father and their mother and find somebody who has always loved their neighbor just as much as they love themselves.

Well, this young man said all these things have I kept for my youth up what lack I yet. Obviously, he missed the fact that he was a sinner because he is claiming here that he’s perfect. He’s kept all the commandments. He’s kept them from his youth up. He hasn’t broken any of them. And then of course Christ gives the answer that you have to come to Him to be saved. Verse 28 it says, If you follow Me in the regeneration, that’s the new birth.

It says of verse 29, you’ll inherit eternal life. But he talks about two things here with this man. He talks about salvation and then he talks about the Christian life. And if you are tuned in to rightly dividing the word, you’ll notice in verse 21, he says, if you will be perfect or mature, go and sell that which thou hast, give to the poor and thou shall have treasure in heaven. Now rewards are earned by serving the Lord. So he then says, come and follow me.

That’s the key right there in this whole chapter. If you mark the word come, all we do to be saved is come. Matthew 11, 28 says, coming to me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. So salvation is simply by coming to Christ. And then he says, follow me and following Christ has to do with the Christian life where Christ said in Matthew 4, 19, follow me and I will make you a fisher of men.

Well obviously if you become a follower of Christ you will have treasure in heaven, but If you simply come to Christ, you’ll have salvation. And you know even the disciples got mixed up in this whole event here and they said then it’d be difficult for somebody to go to heaven. In fact they said how can anybody get into heaven? And they said in verse 25, who then can be saved? the disciples said to Christ. And Jesus says in verse 26, He said with men, this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.

What he’s saying here is that it’s impossible for you to earn your way to heaven. And the only way to be saved is to simply trust in Jesus who died in your place and paid your sin debt and receive that gift of eternal life. And then if you secondly follow Christ, you’ll have rewards in heaven. So this is a wonderful passage, but many people get it wrong and they try to add works to salvation. Here’s certainly not teaching works for salvation.

It says the works will bring about treasure in heaven, simply coming to Christ and being reborn. Verse 28 will bring about you receiving the forgiveness of your sin and the gift of the Holy Spirit and eternal life. I’m Dr. Engdinsch, and this is Bibleline, and we’re going to take our callers now. If you’d like to call Bibleline, it’s 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. And give us a call and we’ll try to get your question answered today. Plus, we’d like to try to take care of as many of the offer questions as we possibly can.

Our first caller is David in Tampa. Actually, you’re the second caller today, but David, welcome to Bibleline. Hey, Dr. Hank, how are you doing this morning? Good. All right. Thanks for taking my call. I had a question on what you’re just talking about. It seems to be a struggle of mine recently. How do we relate that to Matthew 7? Well, 721 says not everyone that say a floor of Lord shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but those that do the will of my Father.

And God’s will for the lost person is that they simply come to Christ or trust Him without regard to their works, but simply trust Christ in His finished work to be saved. Then after your save, God’s will is for you to live for Him and serve Him and earn rewards in heaven. I think the key cross-reference that is good for Matthew 721 is John 6.40, where it says, This is the will of him that sent me, that whosoever seeeth or acknowledgeeth who Christ is and believeth on him may have everlasting life.

So the will of God for salvation is to trust Christ without works and become saved, but after you become saved, then the will for the Christian life and for the believer to live that Christian life is that we serve him and that we become a disciple of Christ. So you have to again rightly divide the word of truth. That’s what Second Timothy says, study to show you yourself as a believer approved at the judgment sheet of Christ when Christ evaluates our lives later as workmen that need not to be ashamed, rightly dividing or stating the truth of God’s word in right order.

So the will of God for salvation is that you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and unless you meet that qualification you’ll not enter heaven. Once you become a believer, then God’s will for you is to live for him, and that brings about reward. Okay, so that’s why in the rest of that Matthew passage, it talks about do all these things. And they were doing those things to be saved, and so they weren’t saved. In Matthew 7, 22, they notice our boasting and bragging in three areas of service, and they said, we preached in your name, we healed in your name, and we did wonderful works in your name in Christ said sorry wrong answer my death at the cross and my shed blood is the right answer you guys fail that test and so as a result I never knew you he says you

would never save because you were attempting to be saved by their works and they boasted about all the three areas where they obviously put a lot of effort into preaching and healing and doing wonderful works in the name of Christ and Christ said I’m sorry I never knew you but if they had only done the will of the Father for Salvation that was to believe on the finished work of Christ, they would have been saved. And then if they had served and preached and healed and did wonderful works in the name of Christ, they would have had reward.

Great. Okay. So when you refer to do my will, it’s… Well, not even loving him. It says in John 640, and you’ll need to write that one down and take a close look at it. But Jesus says about salvation where he’s clearly talking about the will of God in relationship to Salvatius in John 6. He says this is the will of the Father, and this is in John chapter 6 in verse 40. This is the will of him that sent me, whosoever seeeth the Son, or acknowledgeeth the Son, or recognizeeth who the Son is, and believeth on Christ may have everlasting life, and I’ll raise him up again in the last day.

So the will of God to be saved is to trust Christ. The will of God after you become is is free to serve him and you have to separate or other by was uh… just confusion yeah it does become confused if you know and that’s and we’re told to do that thank you so much david and second timothy two fifteen study to show thyself approved under god that’s talking about not for salvation again if you are paying attention he’s talking to christians who are to become workmen now that they’re saved and they’ll be approved at the judgment of christ we’ve got to evaluate their works as they are workmen who will be evaluated as what kind of works that they did as a christian and in order to be able to be approved you need to rightly divide the word of truth so that you are not uh…

uh… working uh… according to what you think but rather according to what god tells us we ought to do We have Louie in Tampa, Florida. Louie, welcome to Bibleline. I knew you are on the air. Yeah. OK, Lou, you’re on the air. Yeah. I’ll try to see what it is like in the devil. You come over your mind and you can’t move and stuff like that. Well, Taya, are you a believer, Lou? Yeah. If you’ve trusted Christ as your only means of reaching heaven, Then the Bible says you’re saved and then the Holy Spirit draws in your body and Satan can influence you from the outside.

So now what you need to do is to cleanse your mind by constantly getting into the Bible. The Bible says in Psalm 119 verse 9, how shall a young man cleanse his way? And it says by taking heed according to his word. So you need to know what the Bible says and you need to take heed and apply that in your life and if you’re going to the wrong places and hanging with the wrong people and doing the wrong things then your mind is going to get all messed up because the devil will work on you but you need to be taking heed to God’s word and doing what God wants you to do and then you’ll find the devil will flee.

So I hope that helps you. Alright, thank you Lou that was Lou in Tampa, Florida and when the devil is getting into your mind. It’s because you are usually not taking heed according to God’s word. If you’re into the word and you’re taking heed to it, the devil will flee and you’ll have the secret to victory in your Christian life. But if you’re going to the wrong places and you’re hanging with the wrong people and you’re not taking heed according to God’s word, then life is going to be in shambles and obviously the devil will take advantage of your mind as well.

Wally in Tampa, Florida calls in, he leaves us off-air question, he says, in Romans 10 9 it reads, Confess and Believe for Salvation and John’s 3 16 states to believe, what does the confession mean in Romans 10 9? Well the answer, Wally is in verse 10 where it says, that we believe and are made righteous, But then we confess to the salvation that we’ve received when we believed. In other words, confession here is talking about witnessing. After we are saved, we are to confess Christ not to be saved, but to acknowledge and tell people how we became saved or lead people to Christ.

And it says, how can they call upon Him in whom they have not heard and how slowly here unless somebody tells them. So we need to be the ones confessing or witnessing and telling people about how to go to heaven. And then when they hear the gospel message, the gospel message can bring life to that unsaved person who will then trust Christ and call upon Him as the means of their salvation. So it’s not saying that we have to confess Christ to be saved.

But if we have believed on Christ, we are saved. Verse 10. And then we confess to the salvation that we already have. We make confession unto not for but unto the salvation that we’ve received. We have Eden calling in from Port Charlotte, Florida and Eden. Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. You’re on the air. Even don’t listen to the radio or it will get you confused. How you do? Good. Can I have a question? My question is I’m a believer.

I believe it. What my problem is, every time God always has some kind of problems coming into my way, I don’t know if it’s because the devil is going to fight you when you try to do things that are spiritual. You can just count on that because he doesn’t want you to grow. He doesn’t want you to live a life for Christ and he’s going to do everything to hinder. When it comes time to sit down and read your Bible, something will become a God.

come along to distract you. When you attempt to go to church, you get an invitation to do something else on Sunday. So it’s a constant battle. You have to make choices for God every time and that’s the secret. You have to say, know to the devil and say yes to God all the time. Thank you so much for that call. We’re going to be going to break here. The time is running out. It goes so quickly. And thank you again for listening today and we’re excited to have people calling in from all over and we’ve got a lot of offer questions going to take to an answer here.

If you’ve never been sure of your salvation, you need to trust Jesus as Savior. He alone can save you. Just tell the Lord Lord I’m a sinner. But I trust Jesus and His death and shed blood is the means of my salvation that He paid my sin, and full was buried in rose again from the dead when you trust him God saves you. And then of course choose to live for him as a second decision that will bring about treasure in heaven and reward.

We’re going to go to break and we’ll come back and we’ll do the second half of Bible and so keep your radio dial tuned right where it is and don’t go away and I’ll be right back. Don’t go away Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. It’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. Englund. This is my one. Great to be with you today. Thanks again for tuning in to the broadcast of my blind. And we are sure to thank you for being a part of us.

And we want to tell you that our partnership with our listeners is absolutely vital because we are putting on the program. But in order to get this program out, we have to pay the radio stations for satellite time and phone bills and everything else. And we don’t pay any salaries. I don’t get a salary nor does any of our staff here. We all volunteer ourselves to the Byline program. So really, as a ministry, we are getting the most bang for the dollar.

And we need you to pray for us and we need you to partner with us. If you can give us a financial gift, that would really assure Bibleline could continue in your area and also enable us to expand even further. We’re pushing ourselves beyond the envelope here and therefore we could really use your help. And we’re not trying to get your money. We really are. I’ll tell you. I know some ministries apparently seem to be, but Philippians 4 17 is my favorite verse.

Paul says to the Philippian believers, not that I desire a gift. I’m not trying to get your money. He says, but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. And so when you invest in a ministry that’s bearing fruit, that fruit will count to your account as well when you invest in that ministry. So as you give the Bible on, you’re going to have fruit in heaven, I believe, because we believe we are reaching people with the gospel.

We are influencing people to get their Bible open and start living for Christ and are many going into ministry as a result of Bible and that’s exciting. Well if you want to have a part in this ministry we would love to have you partner with us. You can give a gift by credit card over the phone you can also call in to our operators and they’ll be glad to send you an envelope with our address already printed on it and you can help Bible and out and we could really use your help at this time.

So consider being a a Bible and partner. Pray for us and give the Bible and no gift is too small, but if you could give generously, it would really help Bible and to accomplish the Great Commission to go into all the world and preach the gospel ever creature. Our TV programs are being aired in Mongolia. Our radio program is aired in Honduras and on the Internet… We’ve reached 146 countries this past year and that is exciting. We have to go to our second half of Bibleline now so we’re going to rejoin stations that have been on break.

If your station doesn’t carry it, go to the internet and you can catch the full hour at Bibleline Ministries not ORG. And here we go, part two. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question, you can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back through that break and here’s Bible and Part 2. We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida, from Calvary Community Church, where I’m the pastor, where Our Bible and studios are and we broadcast live from here and by special digital phone lines we go directly to Detroit and up there we have some wonderful people and Graham Parker in particular I want to thank Graham for all the good work he does and he puts us right up on the satellite which is orbiting planet Earth over the equator at around 22,000, 23,000

miles up in the sky or above the planet and then radio stations then take this program off of the satellite and we’re on all across America. And we’re excited about the technology that allows us to do what we do and be able to do it right here from Tampa, Florida from our studios at the Calvary Community Church. Maybe you’d like to be a part of this ministry which is growing and reaching out and we hope that will reach the whole world.

As we are looking for Christ to come back, time is running out, I believe. The sand is about at the bottom of the hourglass as far as the return of Christ is coming. And maybe the hour is coming when you will be able to do no more for the Lord because they will rapture us out. So we need to do all that we can do now before the Lord comes back, because until we are raptured out, we need to be busy, busy, busy for the Lord.

That’s what we attempt to do here at Bibleline. Your prayers and your gifts to Bibleline are really an indispensable part of this ministry. We can be your voice and you can be the support that allows the voice to go out over the because again, without the financial partnership with our listeners who give to the program, we really could not be on the air. We could really use your help at this time. If you’d like to send a gift to Bibleline, you can do that by mail.

You can give it by credit card over the phone. And again, we’re not really trying to get your money because there are no salaries paid for Bibleline to anybody, not me or anyone else. We don’t have a reserve account. We don’t have a piggy bank. We just are trusting God. And we sometimes are right there at the edge where we say, Lord, how will we be able to pay for these radio bills and then the Lord supplies through people just like you that God touches and they invest in this ministry.

And if you’d like to do that, you can do by phone, by credit card and or by mailing it in. And if you just call our operators, I’ll be glad to send you an envelope with our address printed on it. But we really want to get the gospel out. We really mean that from Obama or our heart. And we really appreciate every one of you who do give and do pray. And if you have not become a partner, consider helping us because we really could use your help.

If every believer that listens to the Bible and would give just a little bit, we would be able to reach this world for Christ. We are just seeing amazing results from what we do have and where we are going as we are now on the air across a lot of North America. And we are reaching out every day and through the internet now thousands of people listen to Bible and are finding the truth and we’re excited about that as well.

By the way, this is our television day. We’re on the Dish Network, rather a direct TV, World Harvest Television at 6.30 Eastern Standard Time this afternoon. That will be all across North America. That’s at 6.30 on Channel 321. Then at 7 o’clock on the West Coast of Florida, we’re on tonight on CTN on the Christian Television Network. That’s everywhere on the Let’s get to Florida from about four miles up to Crystal River and over over to Orlando. So, tune us in today on our Bible and television.

And by the way, our television and radio programs are on the internet. 24 hours a day you can go back and watch and listen to programs for the past month. And that’s exciting. A lot of people are enjoying doing that. I have a sister in Ohio and she listens up there on the internet, usually in the evening and catches the program. And that’s exciting that although we’re not on a broadcast station in her part of Ohio, she’s able to catch the program in the evening off of the Internet when she has a chance to sit down after dinner and tune us in.

So that’s exciting and we hope that you’ll also enjoy. We are now webcasting our Sunday morning worship service. If you get on my home page on the website, BibleLineMinistries.org, click on that camera Right now we have the past two Sundays in archive you can watch and also you can catch it live at 11 o’clock on Sunday morning if you go to our website Bibleline Ministries.org. We have Mary in Bartow, Florida and Mary welcome to Bible on you’re on the air.

Oh good morning. Good morning. I can hardly hear you. I’m I’m sorry but I’ll try to speak up. Okay. The question I had was, once you get saved, it’s your spirit that’s saved, correct? And the body can never really be saved. You just have to kind of train it to what it’s supposed to do. Well, we’re saved. And obviously, we’re going to lose this body, but we’ll get a brand new perfect body, a sittless body. So our old nature is connected with the body, apparently.

and the flesh and its lust are what causes problems in this life but uh… the bible says that will uh… be uh… totally completely redeemed obviously the bodies of part of that salvation and although right now we’re still waiting for that new body and uh… and it says in second gradness five in this body we we grow and we have pains and and all the other things associated with the physical body But we are going to lose this body and be absent from the body, present with the Lord, and there the Bible promises we will get a new body.

So 2 Corinthians 5 is a good chapter to take a look at. But the redemption of Christ includes our body, but we don’t get our new body until after we die. Right. Well, I know that because after you are saved, the old man still wants to do the same old stuff. Absolutely. to retrain it. Well it never becomes any better Mary so we really can’t retrain it. We just have to make yes choices to God and say no to the flesh or no to the devil.

That’s a constant every day affair where they say absolutely. Well you know Paul talked about about thirty years after he was saved he says in Romans 7 he says in verse 18 I know that in me that is in my flesh, well no good thing for how to will his present with him but how to perform that which is good I find not and then he says in verse 19 for the good that I would I do not but the evil that I would not that I do.

So he struggled thirty years after he was saved and some people are shocked to hear that they thought that the apostles never ever committed a single act of sin after they were saved but they did. Oh yeah. Yeah, I know they did. I thought it was a Bible full of sinners. Well, isn’t that the truth? I mean obviously there are some people who claim that they have gotten beyond that and they don’t sin anymore but they’re only deceiving themselves.

Really? They’ve already died or something. Well, you know, I’ve met some of them and they are the holier than thou. And I’m not even comments about it. It’s kind of a big It’s a laugh for me because God says these people come up to you And they say stand by yourself because I’m holier than thou in Isaiah Chapter 65 and God says these people irritate me. So he says they’re just self-deceive So yeah, I like to scratch in affairs.

Yeah, they had it just right Confuses you Sheila, right? That’s right, but Isaiah makes it very plain in chapter 60 four six we are all as an unclean thing and all of our right righteousnesses are silti rights we all do fade as a leaf and our nick witties have carried us away so everybody is included in that and and there’s uh… one day i’m glad we get rid of the sinful body will be not capable of sitting anymore. I’m glad you’re able to catch us out there, Barto.

You’re hearing us on the radio now, huh? Oh, yes. Mm-hmm. I did it a while over. That’s wonderful. And well, I hope many others in Barto are listening as well. I hope so too. God bless you. Thank you, Mary. And your ministry. Thank you so much. That was Mary in Barto, Florida to the east of Tampa. We have Garland in Zephyr Hills, Florida and Garland. Welcome to Bibleline your own the air. Yes, sir. Could you? Could you please explain what is truly meant by when it says that the marriage bed?

Now you can’t get graphic or anything, but found on it. Well, what is saying there in Hebrews 13.5 is what you’re referring to. Or I think it’s 13.3. It says the marriage bed is under file. And basically, whatever a couple decide they want to do in their marriage bed is fine. is nothing that is wrong. If you are consenting together as a married couple, whatever you want to do in the area of sex is fine. But outside of marriage it says it’s wrong and that God said he would judge.

So basically in a marriage you can do whatever you want. Hope that answers it, Garland. Thank you so very much. And that’s Hebrews chapter 13. We have Brian in Atlanta. Is that Texas? Atlanta, Texas. Never heard of Atlanta, Texas. But Brian, are you there? I am here. Where are you in Texas? What’s that? I can’t hear you very well. What state are you in? Oh, I’m in Atlanta, Texas. It’s right by the border of Arkansas there. Look at that.

I didn’t know there was Atlanta, Texas. But welcome to Vimaline. Thank you. Thank you. I actually used to live in Florida. I moved out here. Okay. Okay. I have a question. I know you’ve answered it before, but I spent a while because I’ve just moved out here and I’ve just been doing a little studying. I’m getting married. And I have a question on Matthew chapter 5 verses 27 to 30 where Jesus is talking about if you think you’re going to commit a sin, if you’re out or chopped your hand off, it’s better to do that than to have your body throw into hell.

I know he doesn’t actually mean that you’re going to go to hell in person, but I was wondering if you could clarify that for me. Well I think he’s talking there to somebody who is lost that if you were to lose a body member and then as a result becomes saved, it would be better than having a body that’s completely hold to be cast into hell. So he’s talking here about getting saved. So if it would take an injury, sometimes people get saved as a result of they have a calamity in their life, maybe a death or a surgery or an accident or maybe they lose a body part and they obviously causes them to reflect about life and what it’s all about and seek the Lord.

seek, but it says that if you were to lose a body member, it would be better to have lost that than to have a whole body, verse 29, that would be cast into hell. In verse 30, he says the same thing. So, let’s say you lost a finger or a hand, and as a result, then you came to know the Lord. It would be better to know Christ without one hand than to have a completely whole physical well body to be cast into hell.

So that’s mostly for unsaved. Absolutely, yeah. It’s talking there about the inner heaven that you have to be as righteous as God. And he was talking to some very self-righteous people here. He says, in verse 20, I say unto you that except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. Now the Pharisees woke up every morning and said, I’m going to be good today. And I’m going to be real good today.

In other words, they worked at being good. They were the best people around and they were working at it. But God says, that’s not enough to get you to heaven. You have to exceed the righteousness of PHOTO people that are working at being good every day. And you have to be as righteous as God is. Verse 48 says, How perfect be therefore perfect even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. That’s pretty perfect, isn’t it? I mean, if righteousness is God.

And so, it basically is saying, to be saved you have to trust Christ and have His righteousness credited to your account. And he’s talking about the seriousness of the whole matter, saying that it would be better for you to have an injury or lose a finger, lose a hand, lose a foot, and through that covenant of Christ and be saved than to have a completely whole body and be cast in hell. I guess that makes sense. Sometimes you just got to read the few verses before and after to understand.

There you go. Well Brian, I’m so glad you’re able to catch us out there, I guess, on the Internet, huh? Oh yeah, yeah. I used to listen to you every day when I was out in Florida, but I don’t think I get a radio program here where I am. Oh, wonderful. Yeah, we’re not in Texas yet on any broadcast stations, but Ward willing, we’ll just see if we can’t get out there someplace. Alright. But thanks and keep listening out there.

Sure will. Thank you much. All right. Brian in Atlanta, Texas, isn’t that something? Atlanta, Texas. I never knew there was a city named Atlanta in Texas, but I learned something new every day. And we are excited about reaching out through Bibleline. And that’s an example there. I call her earlier on this program from California and also Brian. And those are through the Internet. We know that we have about 13,000 radio listeners on the internet and that extends beyond the United States as 146 countries have logged in.

Again, if you’d like to invest in Bibleline, your investment I think will pay great dividends in heaven. I think the fruit that is coming to the Lord through Bibleline is going to be counted to your account as you give your gift to the Bible. And because that’s what Philippians 4 17 says. Paul says to the Philippian believers, not that I desire a gift. I’m not trying to get your money, but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.

So as a believer, when you invest where the gospel’s going out, people are getting saved, people are being challenged, people are moving forward, people are making decisions to live for Christ. God is being honored. Christ is being honored. The Bible tells us that that fruit will add up on your account as you give to support that ministry. So it’s exciting and we are excited to have you as a partner with us. As you pray for us, I hope everybody’s listening would pray for us.

And if you could give and we could use your gift and your help right now, we really could. And so you can do that by credit card or you can send it in by mail. And God bless you in thanking the advance for helping us here. We have Carter in St. Petersburg and Carter. Welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Carter are you there? Oh yes. All right. You’re on the air. Do you have a question? All right.

Okay. Listen off. Don’t listen on the radio. It’s 20 seconds later. You got to listen on the phone or you’ll never be able to communicate. I think you’re listening on the radio and that just doesn’t work. It’s 20 second delay and by the time we communicate we’re 20 second apart on every question and return comment. We have a caller from Colorado calling in. He says, I attend the New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I believe if Tim Haggard is saved, he could never lose his salvation.

And I have been told by others that he can and may have backslid. Well, apparently he believes he has lost his salvation, which tells me he’s never saved to begin with. This is unfortunate, but we have a lot of people in pulpits that aren’t even saved. You have to really be keen and listen carefully to find out whether you’re listening to somebody who’s genuinely saved or not. I personally believe that there are many television and radio evangelists that aren’t even saved.

You can tell if they believe you can lose your salvation that they don’t have it right. Because if you believe you can lose it, you’re really saying that what you do between now and death, good or bad determines your salvation that makes you the Savior, not Christ. It’s really based on works, therefore, because what you do between now and death is your works. The true plan of salvation always takes us, Tom, and points us back to the cross and says it’s finished.

Christ paid our sin debt in full. So Tom, I know that has to be a tragedy for your church to have that revelation come out in the news. But we’re glad that you’re listening to Bibleline on the internet. out there in Colorado, and we obviously pray that this former pastor now, I guess, of yours would come to know Christ is his Savior, because obviously if he confesses he lost it, he never had it, because if you’re not saved forever, you’re not saved.

If you’re not saved forever, you’re not saved. We’re going to go back to Carter. Carter, now I think he has got his radio off. Welcome to Bibleline again. Can you hear me now Carter? Yes, I barely hear all right. Well, just what is your question? Is this is it doctor you are on the air all right? Doctor I missed a couple of times. I’m sorry Sorry about that. We got disconnected and maybe my phone batteries went to dead. But the reason I called, I picked up a book that a friend of mine had who he was messed up pretty bad by the Seventh of day of Vanis Church and he had a really bad experience when he was young.

But he’s still interested in religions, of course, say. And he had a book. and it’s just been published about two years ago on the Dead Sea Scrolls. Are you familiar with that? I don’t know what the book is, but go ahead. Well, it has, it was written about a hundred years, two hundred years was the riding time and they found that the scrolls in a cave, I’m sure you’re familiar with that. I’ve been to Kumaan, I’ve been where they found the…

Oh, you sure? Oh, yeah, I’ve been… been there numerous times and absolutely it’s a wonderful experience. Oh well I uncovered so many of you. Yeah. Well what is your question? Well I just wondered if we have so much to First to cover biblically, you really don’t need anything else, but to uncover such a magnificent piece of literature, and it coincide with…the Bible is very rare today, especially with the cult and so on and so forth. what i was going to comment on was i started out about thirty five years ago and i purchased the book called kingdom of the call well that is a wonderful one that helps expose all the cults and what the cults do Carter is that they really go off away from the Bible instead co- of using the Bible as their source.

And they wind up denying the essential elements of the Bible. Usually all the cults deny hell. There is no hell. And the seven Adventist, Joe’s Witnesses, the Christian scientists, none of them believe in hell. And then they also deny salvation by faith alone in the shed blood of Christ. It’s all about works. The Joe’s Witnesses are working their way to heaven. The seven Adventists are working their way into heaven and so on and so on and so on. And so these are all on a wrong trail.

That’s why the Bible is the book we appeal to and that’s what Bible is all about, pointing out what the Scriptures have to say. And obviously if you don’t do that, you’re in trouble. But the Dead Sea Scrolls, wonderful, fine, have confirmed. I’ve seen many of these in the museum in Jerusalem on my trips where you can see the the Dead Sea Scrolls displayed for you. We now have Jose in Seminole, Florida and Jose welcome to Bibleline your own year.

Hello, good morning. Hey, how’s it going? Good. We’ve just got a very little time. Good. We have a very little time, Jose. So we need to get your question. Okay. Because the Great Show is almost over. Okay. Reason for my call is, and I’ll say quickly, I was listening to you talking to about everything being okay to do in marriage, in the marriage bed and everything else? I sure do. What is the question? Okay, well you know I have a medical background and I just wanted to share this with you.

The thought of me is not wise in marriage or outside of marriage. And the reason why is because that part of the body is the body, a lot of viruses like hepatitis A’s and any other virus you can think of is being taken out of the body constantly via that route. Whether it’s a man or woman or a man or a man, do that act. It’s an abomination because what it does is it introduces infectious bacteria. And viruses back into the body totally disturbs that part of the body and it’s really not something that God blesses.

Well, thank you very much for that information. I really wasn’t thinking that direction, but basically, the marriage relationship and sexual34head marriages were God-planted to be had and not outside of marriage, and that’s the main point, I think it adverse in Hebrews. Thank you so much, Jose, for sharing your medical material with a book about sexual Well, well, thank you very much for that information. And I really wasn’t thinking that direction. But basically the marriage relationship and sex with the marriages were got planned to be had and not outside of marriage.

And that’s the main point. I think it’s adverse in Hebrews.
