Our focus ought to be on the Gift of God on the tree rather than the gifts under the tree. The great tragedy is that millions will receive and give gifts this Christmas and will have never received the GIFT OF GOD. As we tell the story of Christmas to our families, perhaps we can use the tree to tell the story from the Bible of the two trees. How that the fruit of the first tree caused man to come under God’s condemnation. And how the acceptance of Jesus Christ by faith as our Savour will bring about our eternal salvation.

Thanks for tuning in today and thanks in advance for your prayers and your gifts and Merry Christmas to you and all of your family as we enter This season, you know Jesus Christ was to be according to the prophecies of the lineage of David and guess what?
Joseph and Mary were both related back to King David Some have imagined a contradiction when they read the genealogy in Matthew chapter 1 of Christ and the genealogy in Luke chapter 3 of Christ. There is a difference, but there is no contradiction. The genealogy in Luke chapter 3 is that of Mary and the genealogy in Matthew chapter 1 is that of Joseph and they are identical until you get to David. If you will notice carefully in Matthew chapter 1 when we get to David it goes to his son Solomon down to Joseph as Joseph was of the lineage of Solomon of the Kingly line and could pass on the airship to the throne of David.
As in Luke’s Gospel, we have the lineage of Mary and when you get to David, it goes down to Mary through Nathan, another son of David. So in Matthew it goes down from David through Solomon. In Luke it goes down to Mary through Nathan, but David is the place where the tree divides. So take a close look and obviously the Bible does not contain anti-contradictions. And maybe you need to take a fresh look if you had thought that there was.
But there is no contradiction at all. Both these genealogies give us the fact that Barry and Joseph were of the lineage of David. You know, throughout the Bible it points out not only in prophecy that this would be the case, but in Romans when Paul talks about the gospel being promised in the Old Testament that Christ was mentioned in the Old Testament, you find this almost everywhere, it says, the gospel of God which God had promised of four by His prophets in the Holy Scriptures.
That’s Romans chapter 1, verse 1 and 2. And we have here the gospel had been promised of four, That means B4 by His prophets. That’s the writers of the Old Testament in the Holy Scriptures. That is the Word of God, the Bible that you and I have, the 39 books of the Old Testament. Verse 3 says, concerning His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Verse 3 goes on to say, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh.
That’s right. Jesus is God, but he took on flesh that was related back to King David. And so he was a man related back to David and all the way back to Abraham. And of course in Luke’s genealogy it takes us all the way back to Adam. But also it says in verse 4 here in Romans chapter 1, he was declared to be the Son of God with power. According to the spirit of holiness by the resurrection from the dead.
So we have Christ being God as well. The phrase, son of God, means that Jesus is God. Did you know that? You see the Jewish usage of that phrase means to have the same nature, to be essentially the same, the same characteristics as. That is typically used even today in the Jewish terminology. When you have Simon called Simon Bar Jonah, Bar means son of, and Simon Peter was the son of a man named Jonah. We have Jesus called the Son of God, and that meant that he came forth from God, but also that he has the same nature, the same characteristics that he is got.
For example, James and John in the New Testament were called the Sons of Thunder. Did that mean that their daddy’s name was Mr. Thunder? No! No, we know that James and John were the sons of Zevady. But apparently their nature was that they were hot-tempered, quick-tempered, and you could set them off real quickly, and they would respond like lightning. And apparently that characterized their nature. So James and John were called the sons of thunder. When Jesus is called the Son of God, it means he has the same nature, the same characteristic, the same being as God himself.
Barnabas in the New Testament was called the Son of Consolation. Did that mean that his name was Mr. Consolation or Consolation? The answer is no. It meant that Barnabas had the ability, the nature, the characteristics about him that he could console and comfort somebody in need of comfort. And so he was called the son of consolation. When Jesus Christ is called the son of man, it means he is fully and completely man. He has all the characteristics of a man.
He gets hungry, he gets tired, he has to sleep and get rest. And he has human emotions, Jesus wept and so on and so on. This is all true about Christ because he is a man. When he is called the son of God, it means he has the very nature of God. Christ therefore could raise the dead. He could multiply the loaves and the fishes. He could forgive sin, things that only God can do. And so Jesus is called the Son of Man, which means that He is fully and completely a human.
And that flesh came to us through Mary and Mary and Joseph were both related back to King David, although Joseph was not the human father of Jesus Christ. Christ when he is called the Son of God means that he is very God himself. He is also called the son of David, a messy, antique phrase, saying that he would be like David in many respects. What do we know about David? Well, he was a shepherd king and Christ, of course, is the great shepherd that gave his life for the sheep.
He also is coming the second time as a king to rule over the earth and over Israel. And so he is to sit upon the throne of David. And so he is in that sense the son of David, not only of the flesh related back to David but has David’s characteristics as a king that was after God’s own heart. We’re now going to go to the phone lines. I’m Dr. Englins from This Is Bibleline and we hope that you will tell your friends about Bibleline, help us grow our program.
We hope that you’ll take advantage of our Christmas special for a $100 gift, call in and ask for it. They’ll send you 20 of that CD that really does lead people to Christ. Tracks to go along with it, the message on the book on evangelism and all of this is about $150 value for a gift to Bibleline for $100. It’ll help Bibleline and also equip you. What we’re thinking about here is how can you be equipped to lead your friends and relatives to Christ over Christmas?
The seven minute video, DVD, will be ideal that will come apart as a part of this package and you can maybe get the family to sit still for seven minutes and maybe you’re not confident that you could do a good presentation but you’ll be able to put the CD into your DVD the DVD rather and be able to play a seven-minute presentation of how to be saved and take advantage of Christmas to share Christ and the gospel and lead your family members to Christ.
Wouldn’t that be great? We’re gonna go to the phone lines. The phone number is 1-800-576-3771 and we have Frank in Pinellas Park, Florida and Frank. Welcome to my line you’re on the air. Oh thank you, huh? Thank you. same to you. My question is, he’s not ashamed of the gospel and then he goes on to explain to him, why do you think Paul is not being ashamed of the gospel? I’ve been reading different opinions. He knew it worked. He knew it was real.
He got saved by believing the gospel and he knew it was the power of God to anyone that would believe that message. It would be saved. It’s just like if you were a salesperson and you are not ashamed of your product, you’re going to be successful in selling it. But if you’re ashamed of your product, let’s say you’re a vacuum cleaner salesman and you’re absolutely ashamed of your vacuum. You know it’s just a piece of junk. Now, you’re not going to be a good salesman, but if you know that that vacuum cleaner really does get the dirt and it’s a good value for your customer, then you’re going to, with a lot of enthusiasm, be not ashamed of it and brag on it and boast and say, hey, I got one myself and this thing really works.
I think you’ll sell all the vacuum cleaners. Paul was very enthusiastic about the message and he wasn’t ashamed of it. He knew it was real. He knew it would save and he knew that he didn’t have to ever apologize for telling anybody about Jesus Christ and the same is true for us today. And one more question if you don’t mind. What would you say are the essential things we as Christians have to share in the Gospel? In other words, what do we absolutely have to include when we tell people about the Gospel of Jesus?
And now… And I’ll just hang up and listen. I’ll just share your ministry. Thank you. Thank you, Frank. of all the Gospel is defined in 1 Corinthians 15 verses 3 and 4 as the message of death, the burial and the resurrection of Christ. It says very clearly Christ died for our sins. Also, 2 Corinthians 5 tells us what to say in verse 19. 2 Corinthians 5 19 says to wit, that’s old English, that means that is to say, or as you witness or give witness, this is what you are to witness to.
Three things. That Jesus Christ is God. That is essential. The deity of Christ is essential. That sets Christ apart from all other would be Saviors or Messiahs. And so Christ is God. Secondly, He is the one that reconciles the world to Himself. Or God reconciles us to Himself by Jesus Christ. So the message is one of salvation that God provides. It’s not based upon what we do for God. It’s based upon what God did for us at the cross.
And we’re to tell the world that He is reconciling the world unto Himself through Jesus Christ. And thirdly, this one is seldom taught by anybody. It says, not imputing their trespasses against them. That is the most amazing of all. God is not saying that if you do this you will go to hell or if you do that you will go to hell or if you do something else you will go to hell. Jesus paid for every imaginable sin you would ever commit past, present and future.
There is only one sin that you are accountable for and that is rejection of Christ. If you believe or trust on Jesus then you are saved and saved forever. If you reject that message, then you’re going to stand before God in all of your sins and have to spend an eternity in hell. But Jesus paid for your sins and so he’s saying your sins are forgiven. All you have to do is receive Christ and you’ll receive the forgiveness of your sins.
You’ll be reconciled to God. Thank you, Frank. We’re now going to Scott in Zephyr Hills, Florida and Scott, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yes, Dr. Listing quite a long time, but this is the first time I’ve called in. Great. Dr. List, I have some concierge course Paul is talking about a man who has been involved in fordication, and then he says, I’ve decided to deliver such a man to Satan for the destruction of his flesh so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
I was under the understanding that the teaching is absent of the body, present with the Lord, it appears that this man’s spirit was waiting until the day of the Lord Jesus. Did that not apply to him? No, it’s not really saying that. In the day of the Lord Jesus is the day when all the believers of this age will be gathered together at the event called the Rapture. And in other words, right now you know Christians, I know Christians, but we only know a small portion of those that are believers on this earth and we haven’t met all of those from the previous century and the century before that all the way back to Pentecost and so at the rapture which is called the day of the Lord Jesus when that occurs all of the believers will be there standing before the Lord and this man will be there with that whole
group so he’ll be part of the family part of the group although his flesh would be destroyed by Satan and he would lose his life. He would be absent from the body, present with Lord just like everybody else. But is saying basically that when all the believers are gathered together, in fact it says there in verse 4 when we are gathered together. I think that gathering together is at the return of Christ when we will meet the Lord in the air and all the believers of this whole age will be together in one place at one time and forever be with the Lord thereafter.
I see. Okay. Well, that clears it up very much. I appreciate that. You’re so welcome. Thank you for listening, Scott, and Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas to you. to you. Alright. We now have George enlisting up in Carpent Springs, Florida and George won’t go to the Bible when you’re on the air. Hey, Dr. Hank, quick question for you. You mentioned just a minute ago. Yes. Other people in the Old Testament only, I don’t think that there was anybody else in the New Testament that was called Son of Man.
How many were there and why were they called Son of Man and I’ll get off the line and listen. Okay, it definitely means that you’re a member of the human race and Ezekiel is called that oftentimes throughout the book of Ezekiel’s son of man prophesy upon these bones as it says in Ezekiel 37 and it’s speaking of him being a man. And obviously God asked him some hard questions that he couldn’t answer because he’s just a man and he says Ezekiel says to God, they’ll only know us.
I don’t know the answer to that question you’re asking. So God gave him the answer and told him what to preach over the scattered bones of Israel dispersed throughout the world and how they would be revived, go back to their land, and we’re seeing that prophecy fulfilled today. So definitely it’s a phrase that means a human being. So I could use that of you. You could use that of me. And of course it was used of Christ. But the uniqueness about Christ is he is called the Son of God, which means he was God in the flesh.
And so that is the difference. And thank you, George, for that call. And we are excited about all the peekable that are calling in. Yesterday I said that the blood type was determined by the Father and we had Elizabeth in Tampa call in. And thank you, Elizabeth. You corrected me. I did my homework. The blood is a contribution of the father and the mother. The sex is to turn by the father, but we do know that, as said in the article I read that often the mother does carry a baby that has the blood type different than hers.
Thank you for that correction and I learn often from my audience. I don’t want to thank you for bringing that to my intention. Anonymus in Tampa, Florida calls in and says, why do you insist that you do nothing to be saved? It isn’t that easy, according to Mr. Anonymous here in Tampa. Well I insist because the Bible says so. If you look at Romans 4, 5, it says to him that worketh not. That means to not do anything but would believe on Christ who justifies the ungodly, the Bible says in Romans 4-5 that God counts your faith in Christ for righteousness.
Ephesians 2-8 says, By Grace, By Mercy, Onmaritive Favor, Are You Saved Through Faith in Jesus Christ? And that not of yourself. It is the gift of God. not in Ephesians 2 8 says not of works, lest any man should boast. So I insist that we do nothing to be saved, but trust Jesus as our Savior, because that’s what the Bible teaches. And I didn’t write the Bible. And the Bible is the authority. We claim that it is the Word of God.
And of course the Bible is demonstratable. the word of God. It’s the only book that meets the qualifications. Definitely the Bible is a book that tells us things we could not have known and is accurate and tells the future before it ever happens. Sometimes thousands of years in advance and it’s right on target. All right, we have Amy from somewhere in Florida. I don’t know the city, it doesn’t give it here on my screen, but she left it off here a question and she says, what are you going to do if you lost God’s best gift for you.
Well, guess what, Amy? Can’t be done. Romans 11, 29, it says the gift of God is without repentance. The Greek word there is a metameletos. It means irrevocable. If God’s gift is salvation, which it is in Romans 6, 23, it says the gift of God is eternal life. Romans 11-29 says that gift is without repentance which the Greek word is ah. With the article A means like no in front of theist means no God atheist. Here it means there’s no changing of mind on the part of God about a gift that He’s given you.
So it’s irrevocable. It’s irrevocable. That is over there in Romans 1129. So I’m not going to lose God’s best gift because I received it when I was 18, when I trusted Christ. I received eternal life and I cannot be lost. God’s gifts are irrevocable. Once you receive the gift of God, which is eternal life, I tell people you are stuck. You have to go to heaven whether you like it or not. Now you can lose rewards, you can lose blessings, you can lose your joy, you can lose your effectiveness and many things, but you cannot lose your salvation.
Boy, we have lots of callers still ready to go here and we have to go to break. I’m Dr. Anclins from Mrs. Byblind. Again, we hope that you have a merry Christmas. Would you include Bibleline on your shopping list and give a gift to Bibleline? You can do it by mail or by credit card. It certainly would help us to end this year debt free, which would be great. God bless. Keep looking up and we’re going to be back right after the break as Jesus we believe is coming and coming soon.
Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Right, I’m Dr. England St. Benjamin. It’s great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning in to Bibleline. Again, everybody here at Bibleline wishes you a Merry Christmas and a happy holiday season. I hope it’s going to be a time of sharing and telling the story of Jesus. This is what it’s all about. And we want to help equip you to do that.
We have lots of folks getting our tracks and our evangelistic tools. The CD, How Permanent is Your Salvation, has led thousands of Christ. If you get that into somebody’s hand, who will listen to it, there’s a great chance that they’ll get saved. I know a nurse in a hospital tells me the story that she had a patient that was really going through a difficult time. Everything was going wrong. She got that CD in his hand. He played it and he got saved and everything turned around.
His spirit changed and his demeanor changed. It even obviously affected his health because he was so depressed and so distraught prior to his salvation. That CD did it. She says, you won’t believe what happened when he listened to that CD. In any case, we have a Christmas special going on. If you give a hundred dollar donation to Bible, I will send you twenty of those and twenty free ticket tracks to go with it. The book, handbook on personal evangelism will send you the DVD video, a seven minute presentation of the gospel that you can present to gatherings at Christmas, be your family or others are gathered together, see if you couldn’t get them to sit still for seven minutes and play that video.
Some of my articles will be included and that’s for a special Christmas gift to Bible and for $100 you can call and tell them you want the Christmas special. Our operators will know exactly what you’re talking about. Plus we have many Bibles and concordances and commentaries and other wonderful gifts here at Christmas that if you get them through Bibleline and our Resource Center, you’ll help Bibleline as well as give a wonderful gift to one of your friends. And you can go online and order that online and use your credit card there and it’ll appear on our screen here and we’ll package it and ship it right out.
Again, I’m Dr. Englund Sherman. I hope you listen to Bibleline every day. You can listen to it any time of day if you go to the internet. And if you don’t get the full program on your station, then you can receive the full program on the internet so you can go there right now and hear the second half if your radio station doesn’t care it. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom, Merry Christmas. We’re going to go and do Bibleline Part 2 right now and join stations that have gone to break.
And here we go. Hold on tight. Don’t change your dial. Bibleline 2. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Right, and this is my line, I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom, and we’re… We are coming to you live from Tampa, Florida. All the way up to Hudson, Tarpen Springs. and some even come on occasion from Spring Hill and Brooksville and Zephyr Hills and of course to the East Lakeland plant city and some even all the way over from around Auburndale. So don’t let it be an obstacle. This Sunday would be a good Sunday. We’re having a Christmas celebration service at 1030 and then we’re going to have a wonderful Christmas dinner and you can be my guest.
Just bring your Bible to your family and come and join us for the 1030 service and then stay for the lunch. We’ll have all kinds of food. One gentleman is cooking a 24-pound pork roast Spanish style. We’ll have turkey, we’ll have roast beef, we’ll have ham, we’ll have all kinds of foods I’ve heard are coming. and people do their very best. You’re going to just eat and just have a great time of fellowship. If you want to come this Sunday, it would be a good Sunday to come.
If you come at 9.15, you can also join my adult class and I’d love to have you join us for that. In the evening, we have our children putting on a Christmas program. You might want to come in the evening at 6 and join us for that. On December 24th, Christmas Eve Sunday will have our worship services in the morning and Sunday school and so on. But then in the evening we’ll have a 10 o’clock candlelight service with the Lord’s Supper.
We invite you to come and be a part of that special Christmas Eve service. I think you’ll really be blessed. We usually fill the church on that evening as we celebrate Christ coming into this world as a church on Christmas Eve at 10 p.m. in the evening. We’d love to have you come. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom, and again we are offering a Christmas special for a special gift of $100. You can get 20 How Permanent is your Salvation CDs sent to you.
This has led thousands to Christ. We had a lady come by this week with a cleaning service. She says, I have 23 customers. She wanted to get 23, how permanent is your salvation? She wanted to see each of her customers come to Christ and this will be a part of giving to them and giving back. And in that exciting, people evangelizing at Christmastime, telling people about Jesus and what it really means. So you’ll get 20, how permanent CDs, you’ll get 23 ticket tracks, you’ll get the book handbook on personal evangelism, You’ll get my Salvation Message DVD video and you’ll get a number of my articles about $150 value for your gift of $100.
And thank you in advance. Call in and our operators will take your order. We’ll ship it out as quickly as we can so that you have it in time to use it. And as you select certain people you want to target with the gospel, this is a great way to reach them for Christ. I’m Dr. Englund Strem, the phone number here is 1-800-576-3771 and we have Joan in Sun City Center and Joan, welcome to Bible Enya on the earth.
Yeah, hello. My name is Joan and I just heard your statement about we cannot lose our salvation And I’ve heard back and forth about once they’ve always stayed, but I never heard what you said before. And I am completely confused because I was with the understanding of free will to believe that Jesus died for us. And once we believe that, we still also had the free will to change our mind because I’ve actually witnessed people stay that they’ve changed their mind and go off and live almost a Hispanic life.
So, are we playing with words as far as saying losing it or? No, no we’re not. Let me just give you a couple of good verses. First of all, Jesus said in John 637, Him that cometh to me, I will in no wise cast out. That means under no circumstance would Christ ever cast out someone who has come to Him. I had one lady tell me that Christ had cast her out. And I said, that means that you were never saved because christ doesn’t cast out a believer and i said let’s read the verse again it says him to come up to me i will know why is cast out no exception clause uh…
you don’t have to tell me what sends you committed but uh… you’re not going to be cast out even better John 639 Jesus says this is the Father’s will which has sent me John 639 that of all of which the Father had given me I should lose none. N-O-N-E but raise them all up against the last day. So Jesus said he wouldn’t lose one person, not one, that has come to him. And therefore if one person were ever lost, Joan, then Christ would be a liar.
The Bible would be untrue. He promised he would not lose a single person. Now let me just say this, if you genuinely get saved, and a lot of people hear a works message, which is the Christian counterfeit, and they’re not saved. But if you really get saved in Hebrews chapter 12, it says that the Lord chasons or disciplines those that he receives into his family. So when you receive Christ, then God receives you into his family as a son or daughter and he for the first time becomes your father.
And he says he will discipline you if you are delinquent. Now let me just point out Hebrews 12a. It says if you be without chastisement or discipline, where of all, A-L-L, all of those that get saved are partakers of, it says then you are illegitimate. It uses a strong word in the King James. It says you are a bastard. not a son. In other words, you are illegitimately claiming to be a Christian when you are really not. If you could live as you pleased and God did not interfere, God spanks and disciplines delinquent Christians.
If you read 1 Corinthians 11 verse 30, it talks there about Corinthian believers who were living in willful sin after they were saved. He says for this cause, 1 Corinthians many of you are weak, many of you are sickly, and many of you are dead. The Lord took them home to heaven early. And then he makes a distinction between the saved and the lost. He says in verse 32, when we and Paul includes himself in that we, he’s obviously a Christian who’s writing the book, he says, when we are judged of the Lord, we are chastened or disciplined that we should not be condemned with the world.
So the world is going to go to hell, whereas Christians are dealt with differently. But I think we lump everybody together that even remotely names the name of Christ. But I think a very small percentage of those who claim that they’re Christians are, I think most have bought into the Christian counterfeit, which is that Christ had part, you do part, Christ paid for part, you pay for part. And basically, that’s Roman Catholic theology. The Roman Catholics teach that Christ died for original sin, but then you have a way of working off your sins through the Catholic Church and keeping the sacraments, and so Christ paid for part and you pay for part.
That’s not what the Bible teaches. The Bible teaches that Christ paid for every sin past, present, and future. I love that hymn that Jesus paid it all. All to him I owe, sin had left a crimson stain, but he washed it as wide as snow. So yes, you can never be lost, but no, you cannot live as you please. God will definitely interfere in the life of a believer who is delinquent. And if we’re obedient, God will bless us and reward us here and in heaven.
So Jonah, I hope that helps. And I’d love to have you here, my CD on how permanent is your salvation. If you’ll let my operators get your address, we’ll send that to you for a charge. Yeah, because at this point, understand if somebody is telling me that they’re a Christian and they’re saved and perhaps somewhere they’re not saved, how am I helping them if I don’t even know if they’re saved or not saved? Well, then you have to ask the right questions because one of the best questions you can ask is, can you lose it?
Now when you ask that question you’ll find out what they’re trusting in because if a person says, Joan, that they can lose their salvation, think about it. Here’s what they’re saying. They’re saying that how I live my life between now and when I die will determine my salvation. If I’m faithful and obedient till death I’ll go to heaven but if I’m delinquent or disobey God between now and death I’ll go to hell. That means how you live your life, determine your salvation, that makes you the Savior, Joan, and not Christ.
To be saved, you have to trust in what Christ did at the cross. In other words, the true gospel doesn’t point to our future as to what we’re going to do or not going to do, but the true gospel points us back to the cross where Jesus said it’s finished. He paid it all. And so if you truly are saved, you’re trusting Christ and Christ alone, and what He did for at the cross, you’re not looking to what you’re going to do or not going to do in your future as to the determining factor as to what you make heaven.
So if you ask the question, can you lose your salvation? Everybody who says that they can lose it, they’re not saved. So I know that I’m saved because I’m living a lifestyle that would please God according to his word like Paul was teaching the Corinthians. And I’m doing it out of love because I love God and I’m not doing it out of works or doing it because I might lose my salvation. Am I getting it now? Well, it sounds a little better, but obviously it has nothing to do with your lifestyle at all or how you live for Christ.
You see there’s a difference between salvation Which is totally bought by Christ death and shed blood at the cross and our response out of love Which is what you just mentioned that we serve him because we love him and because we’re grateful that he has saved us But our service Does not have a thing to do with our salvation in first Corinthians 3 when it talks about the judgment seat of Christ Where every believer one day will give an account for how they have lived since they have been saved It says in verse 15, even if at that point all of your works are burned up because you did nothing worthy of God’s reward It says you would still be saved yet so as by fire So you would suffer loss it says but it’s loss of reward not loss of salvation.
It says you would still be saved You know what I feel lighter already Wonderful. Yeah, good news. That’s what the gospel. I really get it now. That’s awesome Well, stay on the line of my operas and get your guts. We’ll send you that CD that is so powerful. I appreciate your teaching. Thank you so much, Joan. Thank you. Keep listening and somebody can pick up that line and we’ll get Joan that letter. We have Joe from Land the lakes just called in one of the thank God for Hank for you explaining eternal security so well.
He says I’m not too sure what the lesson here says but somebody scribbled that up. Well anyway thank you Joe for the nice compliment and you know I was confused for 18 years in my church and never had anybody explain it to me and I know what it’s like to be totally We’re going to go to Mike and Mike is sitting there waiting in Wesley Chapel and Mike, welcome to my room. Hey, good morning, Dr. Anks. Good morning. Yeah, I had a question for you.
A little while back, I remember you were talking about Santa and if you moved to the end, it’s both Satan. You thought there might be something deeper than that. I was just wondering if you ever looked into it where the word originated. Well, I don’t know about that, but you know, think about it. Accubates of God are attributed to Santa. For example, Santa is supposedly omniscient. He knows whether you’ve been good or whether you’ve been bad. That’s only God.
Satan is to be petitioned or we can pray to Santa. Children are told to make their request known to Santa and he will know what they want and I get it for Christmas. He’s apparently also omnipresent, at least on Christmas morning or Christmas Eve. Satan is able to be everywhere in the world, delivering simultaneously gifts to all the children in the world and so on and so on. So Satan, I mean Santa, is I think a substitute for God.
He’s taken the place of Jesus who is God and certainly the name to imply that and I think that if people are going to talk to their children about Santa Claus, I think they ought to be truthful and say, we can do this and Santa Claus make believe like Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. I don’t think you tell your children that Donald Duck is real but we can tell the children that Santa Claus is not real. I remember as a little boy that I discovered on my own, I don’t know, I was pretty young, that Santa Claus was not real.
And you know the effect was devastating because the people I loved and trusted told me that. Now they also took me to church and in fact I have an aunt that I dearly loved. And she was my Sunday school teacher during those younger years at the church. And so I figured that Christianity was also another grown up game that’s played on little children and I wasn’t going to fall for that one like I had fallen for Santa Claus, and it did a lot of damage in my life.
I became a real skeptic. Maybe it turned out to my advantage later because I just don’t believe anything I hear anymore because I learned some lessons early where I got hurt by people I’d dearly loved who misled me and told me that Santa Claus was real. That really did affect me. I was really hurt by that and I didn’t trust from that point on things that they said without proof. And I think that it’s damaging. I think we, if you’re going to do the Santa Claus deal, at least like Mickey Mouse and Donald Beck and everything else you need to tell them it’s make believe and just enjoy it.
But Jesus in contrast is real. But he’s the real thing. Right. Right. And then I also had another question for you. Solomon, is that the gentleman that’s supposed to come on that wants to build the temple on the temple mound? That is correct. Okay. I saw him on a show a couple days ago. I think it was the naked archeologist. And they’re going to get rid of the dome of the rock. Do you even really think about it? No, I don’t think they’re going to get rid of it at all.
I think if you read Revelation 11, it says John is caught into the future and he’s told to measure the temple and the altar and notices that there are worshipers there. That will be after the rapture and the temple’s rebuilt. Then he’s told not to measure the courtyard of the temple mount area because it’s given to the Gentiles right up until the end until Jesus comes back at the second coming. So apparently they will coexist until Christ comes back and then he will clean the Temple Mount Pot form of the two Arab mosques that are there.
Also in Ezekiel, chapter 42 or 43 I think it is, it says that when the temple is rebuilt there will be a wall of separation built around the temple to separate it from the profane area. And I believe the profane area is where those mosques are. So apparently it will be built and coexist as this world of ours, once everybody get along and they force Israel to do things, I think it will coexist right up until the end and then Christ will clean the temple mount and refurbish the third temple to become the most glorious temple greater than Solomon’s during his reign on the Earth in a thousand years.
So I don’t think it has to come down. that’s pretty amazing that it basically there’s provisions in the Bible just to leave alone until Jesus comes. That’s right. That’s pretty neat. What day is he coming on? Is it next month? He’s not coming here, at least not to my church. We’ve already had him in August of this year. By the way that person is equal. He’s equal 42-20 if you want to make a note of that. But if he’s coming the states he might be here in the area but i’m not aware uh…
okay i’m sorry i thought he was coming to the show i had thought i’d heard something like that one time or anyone thanks a lot doctor i appreciate it you’re welcome mike it was mike up in uh… uh… i think we uh… when we had a uh… technical difficulty are satellite people up in the troy played an old show of solomon coming and it played in the past couple months and you probably heard that and of course he’s already come and gone that we do have the video and the audio of that presentation when he was here if you want to order that uh…
you would be able to uh… to do that all right we have lots of colors here i don’t know if we’re going to get to them all we have filled with the holding forever uh… fill thanks for being so patient you’re on the line bill your near Oh, Dr. Eng. Yeah, you’re on the air. Oh, I’m sorry. Yes, I just want to reiterate what you were saying to Joan there. IGil over 30 years and I’ve definitely had my ups and downs in the Christian life and the part about chastising and discipline is definitely true.
But my heart is never waiving from trying to evangelize people to get them to believe in the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. And I know that I’ve been saved that whole time, even though my life has never been a great part of the Christian life. But the question I would like to ask you is, I totally agree with your assessment John had passed away. I had died in John chapter 2 verse 6 where he talks about going down to the bottom of the mountain.
Was he in Paradise at that time? Was he saved? He said? Yeah, absolutely he was saved. And he went down into Paradise. And Christ, of course, used him as a perfect type of himself. As Christ died, also went down into Paradise for three days and three nights. Jonah was in paradise for three days and three nights when Jonah was resurrected from the dead He came back into the body in the tomb of the well of the of the fishes bay Belly and Christ came up after three days andWrites into the body that was in the tomb There where his body was laid so very similar and Christ said that as Jonah was socialist on a man be I Understand that the thing is it just he just makes a bleak picture out of it when he’s reading about that apparently apparently because he had me more because he didn’t go to none of
our like it was supposed to I take it. Yeah for sure he was a disobedient prophet and God certainly got his attention. Are there any other Example’s in the Bible of people who go into paradise that we can gain a description of what that might have been like besides Luke 16. I believe it is. Not a whole lot in the Old Testament. I know that David talked about how he was going to go there in Psalm 16, but how that Christ was not leaving there, that Christ would come and take him out of there.
And that’s of course what happened when Christ died and after the three days he emptied Paradise out. It’s now no longer in the heart of the earth. It’s in heaven itself according to 2 Corinthians 12-3. Right, I understand that. The other question I have goes along the same line. I believe it’s Revelation 13th 3, that tells us that one of its heads were wounded, that the antichrist is killed during the midpoint of the tribulation, is it? I’m not too sure that that’s exactly what it means.
The seven heads are seven world powers. And I think it might mean that he dies in a sense a political death because it’s talking about politics there, and then he miraculously comes back to rule as the Antichrist. But I’m not too sure that we take it as a physical death. At least it was, it could be a physical wound of the head that maybe is life threatening and could be fatal, but he lives. It could also be a possibility.
I understand because I was a little under the impression that he did suffer a mortal wound and comes back to life after three days for example. Well it doesn’t really say that but I could also be true. Well the reason I ask that is because if that is the case where does his spirit go for that time that he’s passed away? That’s why I don’t think he dies. I think he’s either near death or people are amazed that he does survive when he should die and I think they marvel over the fact that it’s a simulated resurrection but it doesn’t really die.
I see. Okay. I also want to say thank you for the opportunity to get those sermons. I did get those months of sermons. I am really enjoying them and pass along that information and letting those out. So that was a very, very nice blessing and you have a Merry Christmas. All right. Thank you, Phil. We had offered a year’s worth of our messages and you can still of course order our Sunday messages. We make them available on CD for $5 a piece and that would be for a year, would be 52 Sundays, that’d be $260.
I will still give you the year for $250, which is $10 off and that would really help Bible life. We’re going to go to Madeline in Bradenton and Madeline, welcome to Bible life. Hi, happy Christmas to all of you. Thank you. I did. Santa Claus thing you just said. Yes. You hit the nail on the head. That was what happened to my family. I think it happens in a lot of families. And I think we just need to be honest with our children to gain their trust.
And especially if we want to tell them about God, they’re not going to believe us if we aren’t transparent and tell the truth. Well, thank you. When you baptized me last August with you big group. And it’s beautiful. Wonderful. I’m going to try to get them up to go Sunday and well that’s great. We’d like to see you there. Merry Christmas to you, Madeline. That was Madeleine down in Bradenton, Florida. We have Greg in Lakeland, Florida. And Greg, we have a doubt done in Lakeland, Florida.
He couldn’t apparently hold on. We have Joy in New York calling in and she says, have you seen the video? Afebel Window of Eternity by John Brevere. It’s an animated story about the judgment seat of Christ. Dr. Hank, you say you can’t lose your salvation. John Brevere says you can. Please elaborate. Well, I say that because I don’t count on him. I count on the Bible. The Bible says you cannot lose your salvation. We just recited two excellent verses.
But let me include not only John 637 and John 639, but how about Hebrews 13 5, Jesus says I will never leave you. Think about it. I will never, never means never. I’ll never leave you. And if somehow you did lose your salvation and went to hell, Jesus would have to go to hell with you. He said I’m never going to leave you. It’s just not going to happen. And plus Jesus says I give you eternal life. It’s eternal.
It’s not temporary life. It’s not a trial period. It’s not probation. It’s salvation. And this is where people go We are right at the end of it and I hate to have to run here. We got callers, we got off here and we’re having a good time and we got to go. But let me invite you, if you’re in the area, to come by this Sunday for our Christmas service and morning at 10.30. Stay for the wonderful Christmas dinner.
Really come and be my guest. I’d love to have you. we can sit down and enjoy. The food and the fellowship, you’ll have a great day. Also in the evening, our children put on a Christmas program on the 24th on Christmas Eve Sunday. We’ll have a 10 p.m. candlelight for the Lord’s Supper. That’ll be great. If you haven’t trusted Jesus, do it now. Lord, I am a sinner, but I trust Jesus right now to be my Savior, to forgive my sins, to give me the gift of eternal life and God will do that.
Then serve him and God will bless you. Keep looking up. Jesus is coming. 634. Or visit Bibleline Online at BibleLineMinistries.com. some of my articles. I hope you’ll take advantage and help Bible Anne out as well. So thank you in advance for ordering the $100 Christmas special. Also, if you’re just considering giving a Christmas gift to Bible Anne, that would be so helpful at this time. You know, a lot of times Christ doesn’t even make the shopping list. And it’s his birthday. And yet nothing is given to him. Can you imagine going to a birthday party, giving gifts to everybody at the party, but not the one whose birthday it is?
That’s what happens with Christ. You know, everybody gives a gift, but Christ doesn’t get anything. And maybe this is the year to put him on the list. What you consider using Bible on is a way of giving to the Lord this Christmas and give a special Christmas gift to Bible on. You can send it by mail and or you can give it by credit card over the phone if you call. We will be glad to give you that address or send you an envelope with it printed on it, but we hope that you will take advantage of the opportunity to celebrate Christ’s birthday by giving a gift to Christ this Christmas.
You have to run, keep looking up, Jesus is coming, join me again Monday and on the Internet you can join me all weekend long.
