Bibleline Radio Show – 2006-12-18 – Jesus – Fulfillment of All Prophecy

Mary was used of God as the host to bring forth the body of Jesus’ humanity. When the angel told Mary that she would conceive and have a son, she replied, “How shall this be, seeing I know not a man (Luke 1:31-34)?” The angel responded by saying, “The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God (Luke 1:35).”

There’s a place there where if you turn to the radio page to leave. to leave an offer question and if you want to do that on the internet it’ll it’ll come to us rather quickly and we’ll try to get Get your question answered.

We have a bunch of them that we’re gonna try to get to today We’re gonna go to the Bible and we’re gonna go back to Genesis 3 15 This is the earliest promise of the coming of Jesus Christ and This is right there when Adam and Eve had sinned And God pronounces this solution as to what would happen one day. He says in verse 15, I will put imnity between the, that Satan and the woman, that’s Eve. Between thy seed, that’s probably antichrist, the seed of the antichrist, or of Satan rather, and her seed, the seed of the woman, which is probably a veiled reference to the virgin birth.

Usually the seed is obviously passed on through the man, but here it talks about a woman having seed without a man, probably referring to the virgin birth for sure, is talking about Jesus. Then in the last part of the verse it has the two comings of Christ. It says it, that is the seed of the woman or Jesus, would bruise thy head, which speaks about Christ’s victory over the devil and how ultimately Christ will take away His power and authority and rule over the earth and on into eternity.

Then it says, and thou Satan shall bruise his heel. That’s the first coming. The other is the second coming of Christ and the bruising of Christ’s heel is probably a veiled reference to the crucifixion. That’s right. the only death we know of where the heel of the victim is bruised is crucifixion. A person being crucified has to push up on his heel because they can’t breathe, they can exhale, but they can’t inhale without pushing up, then fill their lungs and then slump down and exhale.

And so ultimately a person being crucified dies of suffocation. That’s right. In fact, you know, when the religious leaders wanted to get the bodies off the cross because the Passover was approaching at 6 p.m., they sent the soldiers out and they broke the legs of the two thieves. They used something like a baseball bat and they would swing it across their knees and crack their legs and then they would slump down, not able to push up anymore. They would quickly die.

When they came to the body of Christ, they found he was already dead. So they did not break a bone in the body of Christ. Isn’t that amazing? Because it says there at John 19, 35 that the Scripture might be fulfilled that they would not break a bone in the body of the Messiah. That had been predicted a thousand years earlier in the Psalms and look at how literally that was filled. When they came to speed up the crucifixion, Christ was already dead.

They didn’t break his bones, but they broke the legs of the two things. And so obviously we know that a person being crucified has their heel bruised from pushing up every time they take a breath. And we find here that it talks about Satan would bruise the heel of Christ, referring to the crucifixion the first coming, and that Christ, the seed of the woman, would bruise the head of Satan. That is victory over Satan at the second coming when Christ takes Satan and he is bound in the bottomless pit and ultimately after the thousand year reign of Christ is cast into the everlasting lake of fire.

Satan knows now from this point on that a woman is going to have a child and that child would ultimately be his downfall. So So throughout the Bible we see an attack upon the lineage of Christ. And we find right from the get-go when Adam and Eve had Cain and Abel. Abel probably was the one through whom the Messiah would come. And what did Satan do? Satan used Cain to kill Abel. I believe for the purpose of preventing the baby, the Messiah, from coming into the world.

That’s right. So that murder was inspired by Satan. How do we know? Well, in 1 John 3.15, it says that Satan… He was acting under the instructions from the devil to kill his brother. Of course God replaced Abel with Seth and he became the one in the lineage of Christ. But you could really spend an incredible amount of time just following the lineage of Christ and seeing the attacks of Satan upon the line to prevent it. Then when Christ was born, we know that Satan was sitting there ready to kill that baby as soon as it was born into this world.

In the book of Revelation, it tells us about a man-child, which is the Lord Jesus Christ, who would one day rule over the earth as a king over the entire earth. And we find here that it tells us in Revelation 12 and verse 4 that the dragon, which is identified here as Satan stood before the woman, the nation of Israel, Revelation 12 verse 4, which was ready to be delivered for to devour her child, as soon as it was born.

When you get your Christmas cards, you don’t generally see what I’m going to depict now, but if you were in the stable where the baby was lying in a manger and there’s Mary and And Joseph, that stable was probably filled with Satan’s demons and Satan was present. He wanted to kill that baby. And obviously he was not able to do so. We know that he tried to use Herod to kill that baby. And Herod killed every baby two years old and under in Bethlehem and all the surrounding cities in order to eliminate this child.

of course got a warned Joseph to flee to Egypt because Herod would try to do that and of course they escaped the hand of Herod and stayed in Egypt until Herod died and then they came back to Israel. But we find that definitely Satan was there. So if you can just imagine a Christmas card and there’s the stable and it’s filled with demons. Well, that’s not the picture you normally get. Let me tell you, read Revelation 12, 4. It says, the dragon stood before Israel, which was ready to be delivered for it to devour her child as soon as it was born.

So when Christ was born, let me tell you, the demons were present. Satan was present. He wanted to kill this child, and there were numerous attempts throughout the life of Christ to get rid of this baby. This one that would ultimately defeat Satan, and of course in the first coming, Satan would Bruce’s heel, speaking of the crucifixion at the cross of Calvary. You know Jesus died for you and for me, and He brought about our salvation through His death and shed blood at the cross of Calvary.

He died to pay for your sins in mind, and He paid for our sin debt and full, our past sins, our present sins, and our future sins. That’s right, when Christ died, you weren’t even born. All of your sins were future, and He paid for all of them. And when we simply come to Him, trusting that He fully died and paid our sin debt in full by His death and shed blood was buried and rose again from the dead.

God saved you. Isn’t that great? And that is of course the best news that you’re ever going to hear. I didn’t hear that message explained to me till I was eighteen. Are you believing that? I was raised in church. I was confirmed in Pabtahisten, Hamachnaisen, Pashtahisen, Capsizen, Simonizen. You name it, I went through it. But you know I never knew how to go to heaven. Nobody ever told me that I had to personally trust that Jesus Christ died for me.

And if I would trust Him as my Savior, I would not perish because He perished in my place, but I would have everlasting life. That’s good news. And I hope that you have trusted Christ as your Savior. If you haven’t, you’ve missed the meaning of Christmas because it’s all about Christ. It’s all about the gift of eternal life that’s offered through Christ to all that would believe on Him. I’m Dr. Inktonstrom. This is by blind. We’ve got lots of followers waiting.

We’ve got lots of offer questions. We’re going to try to take them as quickly as we can. I’d like to wish every one of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. And also let you know that we do have that Christmas special still running 20. How permanent? which really works. A lot of people have gotten saved and then we offer 20 free ticket tracks to go with each one of those CDs to give out, to help equip you to evangelize here over the holidays as you come across friends and relatives that you want to target with the gospel.

This will work. Plus, we’ll include the book Handbook on Personal Evangelism, a video DVD of The Gospel 7 minutes long that you can play for the family or friends or family when they come over to your house during the Christmas season. And also about 5 of my articles that will be included. About $150 value. A Christmas special for a donation of $100. We’ll send that right out. Just call our 800 number and our operators will take your order. Right now we’re going to go to John and he’s in Brandon, Florida.

And John, welcome to Bibleline. Good morning, Dr. How are you? Good. A while back, I heard you talk about Judas Yscariot and he really was never saved. But then I read Matthew 27, where he did repent after he gave the coins back. Now, it’s the stop for a minute because that is uniquely one of the different words from the Greek is translated repent that means sorrow or regret and it’s not the main word that is used. And so it never tells us that Judas changed his mind.

He simply regretted what he had done and wanted to take that money and take it back to the priest. But there’s no record that he ever did change his mind and get saved. In fact, the Bible tells us that Judas went to his own place which is, he’s also called the son of perdition he went to hell but it was because he never did trust the Lord and he did regret but he didn’t trust the Lord as a Savior.

He did? So it does say in the Bible that he did go to hell? Yeah, if you read Acts chapter 1 it talks about him going to a special place probably the heart of the earth in Hades or Shiel there is what is called the bottle of his pit. where Satan will be bound during the Millennial Kingdom and a chain will be put about him and he’ll be peddle locked in there until the thousand Uranus up. Apparently that’s exactly where Judas went.

You can see that in Acts chapter 1 I think let’s see the exact reference is verse 25 of Acts chapter 1 you’ll see that reference. Okay. Okay, John. Great. Thank you for that. All right. And Judas never was a believer in John 6. Jesus says in verse 64 that he knew from the beginning who they were that believed not and who should betray him and he identifies Judas there as an unbeliever. And interesting as in John 13 also says that all the disciples were clean except for one was Judas.

When Peter spoke for all the apostles and said, we believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And you have the words of eternal life. Jesus had to step in and correct them and said not all of you, one of you is a devil. And he was referring to Judas. So 11 were saved, but Judas was never saved. We have Robert down in Pompano uh… beach for the and robert welcome to bible hey mary christmas doctor lintland for a great michael uh…

i was trying to witness someone uh… yesterday uh… about uh… you know becoming saved and they came up with a uh… a very interesting passage in the bible that i had not thought much on and it found in loop uh… chapter ten verses twenty five to thirty seven i was hoping i couldn’t really answer although it sounds like the lawyer that is talking to Christ is attempting Christ and he sounds very arrogant but I couldn’t explain the passage. I was hoping you could help me with it.

Well what is happening there is this man was of course trying to tempt Christ but he also was asking what he had to do to be saved. Now the law in the Old Testament according to Galatians 3 was given to show us that we We have broken it and are in need of a Savior. It says in Galatians 3.24, the law is a schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ that we might be justified by faith. So in other words, as somebody said, the law is like a mirror.

You can look into a mirror and see that your face is dirty, but then you don’t clean your face with the mirror. You reach down and get some soap and use water and you lather up and wash your face. And so the mirror can’t cleanse you any more than the law. And yet the law shows us like the mirror that we have sinned and we’ve come shortly before we’ve gone. Christ did exactly that. This young man obviously was self-righteous and deceived and he said, as Christ named some of the commandments, all these things have I done from my youth up.

he was trying to justify himself, but he was not saved. And so some people who don’t read very carefully conclude that you can be saved by works. But other passages are quite clear that no one has ever Kep the Ten Commandments. If you look, for example, at John 7, Jesus says in verse 19, did not Moses give you the law? And yet none of you have kept the law? Nobody has. Galatians 2, 16, a memorized it as a brand new believer.

It’s kind of a tough verse to memorize, but it’s so wonderful. It says, knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ, Peter is the one that Paul is talking to you there. He says, Peter, even we have trusted in Christ that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Relations to 16, of course, the whole book of Galatians deals with the issue of the law being unable to save anyone because no one has ever been able to keep it except for Christ who is God and he was sinless.

But of course, this rich young ruler went away, apparently never coming to know Christ is his Savior. Which, you know, not everybody we talk to will trust the Lord. And Christ didn’t have everybody that he talked to receive him as Savior either, including this fellow. And of course, Jude is one of his own disciples. We now have Jim in Lakeland, Florida. And Jim, welcome to the Bible on your own here. Thank you, brother. How are you doing? Good. something some time ago and I always wondered about it since and I thought I would kind of ask the person so far who has steered me straight in many many areas and it kind of goes along with some of the things that you said in the opening your opening remarks.

This individual we have already been forgiven for all of our sins past, present and future. Sin we don’t have to ask God to forgive us, but we do need to go to him to agree with doctrine that I’ve committed is sinful. Well, most of that is absolutely correct, but first done one nine is the verse about a believer in their walk, confessing their sin, and the object there or the purpose of that is for forgiveness in our daily walk.

As far as salvation was forgiven forever when we trust Christ as Savior and our sins are forgotten, forgive and deliver them up against us again as far as going to heaven. But it says in 1 John 1, 9, if we confess our sins teasp, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins. So he forgives those that we name to him, and then it says, and cleanses us from all unrighteousness. This is in the context of fellowship in our walk with Christ.

It says, if we walk in the light as he is in the light, then we have fellowship with him. And so walking in the light means that when we sin, and this is not necessarily something we do at the end of the day, which is fine, but the thought there is that as we walk, as we sin, moment by moment throughout the day, if we recognize that we’ve done something that is wrong, we ought to confess it right there, and it allows us to continue in fellowship with the Lord in our walk, it has nothing to do with our salvation.

Next. No, the answer is no. We need to confess it and thank God that He’s already forgiven us. I like Ephesians 4.30. It talks about us being kind-hearted, one to another, forgiving others, even as Christ has already forgiven us. So we’re already forgiven. But we need to acknowledge that all the time. I think it’s great for us to recognize that. And if we sin, it does break fellowship, not our relationship, but our fellowship with the world, our walk……. our intimacy and so we need to confess.

Very good. Thank you. 😉 Okay, I hope that helps. Thank you Jim and that was Jim over in Lake Wales, Florida. Debbie in Chesterfield, Virginia, says comment on the Seeker Church. I believe I did answer this the other day, but it says the Church Growth Movement. Is there any scriptural support for this. This whole movement, I believe, is not really biblically based. The Bible talks about every individual believer is commissioned to take the gospel of the for Jesus Christ, to their family, to their friends, to their neighbors.

And obviously, We, each of us individually, have been commissioned. That’s the great commission to go out and tell the world about Christ. This modern movement is really all about church growth, not really getting people saved. In fact, somebody who recently attended one of the classes on this said, you don’t have to worry about witnessing, they were told, you just bring them to church. So basically, this whole movement is about getting people out to church, that is the church’s responsibility.

And that’s really not technically true. And you better hope that your pastor gives an outright, or even if you’re brought to the church, they may be deceived and not be saved. And so it’s important that we know what the gospel is, that we give a clear presentation to those that are lost to make sure that they do get saved. This is Bibleline, and we’re coming up on our break. We do have another half hour to go. We hope that you’ll call in if you have a question and we hope you’re enjoying the broadcast.

We are streaming right now and you can catch the full program on the internet and stay tuned right here because we’re going to take a short break. We’ll come right back and do the second half of Bible and so keep you ready to tune right where it is. I’m Dr. Englund from Mrs. Bible and we’ll be back in just a moment. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well, I’m Dr.

Englund Striman. This is Bob Landis. Great to be with you today. Thanks again for tuning in to the broadcast. And we hope that you enjoy it every day. And again, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. This is a great time to evangelize. And we have many things to help equip you to be able to do that and we hope that you’ll take advantage. We have the Christmas Special, a $100 donation, and we’ll send you 20 CDs, the one-hour presentation of how permanent is your salvation.

This has led thousands to Christ. You might selectively give them out to 20 friends that you’d like to see get saved. If they listen to it, there’s a great chance that they will. We’ve seen that kind of success. This will send you 20 free ticket tracks to go along with that. We’ll also send you the handbook on personal evangelism which will tell you how to lead a soul to Christ. We’ll send you my video DVD on Salvation, a 7 minute presentation that you can play for gatherings over the holiday and lead your family and friends to Christ.

Also some of my articles will include about $150 value but that $100 Christmas special is still available. You can call our operators and they’ll be glad to help you and you can do that by credit card over the phone. They’ll ship it right out so you’ll have it in time to use over the holidays with friends and you can give them out in your gifts. You can give them out in your Christmas cards. You can give them out from your hand to their hand and say, hey, I want you to listen to this here at Christmas.

A lot of people are doing that and a lot of people are getting saved as a result. Also we want you to know that Bibleline is lister supported and if while you’re giving gifts we’d consider maybe giving a special gift to Bibleline that would be greatly appreciated. We’d like to exit year 2006 with all of our bills paid and enter the new year debt free. So if you would like to give a gift to Bible and a special Christmas gift that would be wonderful, you know it is Christ’s birthday and we should give a gift to Christ.

He oftentimes gets left off the shopping list but maybe you might include Bible and as a way of giving a special gift to Christ here at this season. We certainly hope you have a wonderful and safe holiday and to your family and friends have a safe holiday and that you’re maybe able to target some of those that are unsaved in your family and reach them with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We sure are glad that you are listening. We want you to stay tuned now for the second half.

If you go to the internet, you get the full program there. And we’re going to do now the second half of Bibleline right now. So stay tuned. We’ll be doing part two. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Linz from a question? You can. Pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. All right, we’re back from that break. This is by the line. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom, and we’re coming to you.

We live from Tampa, Florida from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church. We just love the season. It’s a great opportunity for us to evangelize and tell us about Christ. We had people get saved in our morning service. We had people get saved in our evening children’s program service. We hear about people getting saved every day, not only through the radio and television, through our listeners who tell us that they are evangelizing their friends and leading them to crisis.

We’re excited about creating a little spark there because we believe that you and I as believers are responsible to carry the gospel to those that are lost. We have a number of tools here at Bibleline in our Resource Center that you can order on the Internet if you go to BibleLineMinistries.org. You can also order over the phone. You can call and have a send-your-resource list or sheet and you can have that by your side. When you’re looking for something, look to see if we have it there for you.

We have Bibles and commentaries and Bible dictionaries and concordances and things that I recommend that would be useful in your learning. If you have a question about you don’t even really know quite what you need, you can call in and we’ll try to advise you depending on where you are in your Christian life. And certainly we recommend that old Schofield Bible. If you go out to the bookstore they’re going to sell you the new one and it’s inferior. Let me tell you, many of the notes are not even written by Dr.

Schofield yet they call it the Schofield Reference Bible. Many of those older notes have been watered down and rewritten and they just don’t have the punch, the clarity that the old Scofield does. We carry only the old Scofield because we believe it’s superior and that’s available if you want to order that through the website or by calling in and ordering. We have that $100 Christmas special that’ll help you. We have 20, how permanent is your Salvation CDs that will send you plus 20 tracks to go along with that plus the handbook on personal evangelism plus the seven minute DVD video presentation that you can play for gatherings for your family around the Christmas time and some of my articles that will include a $150 value for a special Christmas gift to the Bible and of a hundred dollars.

That will help equip you to be able to lead people to Christ. Pick out people that you want to get saved and make sure to get one of these how permanent is your salvation DVD’s. We know that one lady came by who had a cleaning service and she had 23 clients. She bought 23 of these how permanent is your salvation CDs in order to evangelize her clients. Isn’t that great? What a wonderful thing to see people reaching out with the gospel.

And here she’s doing it in the workplace with the people that she is employed by, the homes that she cleans. And I thought, how wonderful. That was a blessing to me to see people concerned, to want to get the gospel. And we had a lady last night, get four. She needed four more. She constantly gives them out. And I wanted four more to give out because she knows that they work and she had four people in mind that she wanted to give this out before Christmas.

So they might really know what Christmas is all about. It’s all about Jesus. We’re going to hear the phone lines again. We have lots of off-airs. We’ll try to get to them. But we have Lindsey in St. Petersburg and Lindsey, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hello, Dr. Lynch. Good morning. My question is about the responsibility of elders and deacons and pastors and scripture. And if I can just tell you why I’m asking, I belong to a non-denominational church.

And in our church, we have a court of chain of command. And first, the chain of command is God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. And then our pastor, and then we have ministry leaders. We don’t actually have officially elders or deacons in our church. And so, you know, our pastor is completely in control and his accountability is only to God. I just wondered if that is scriptural. I mean, if you’re supposed to be able, I know that in Acts 15, I think, and seven, it talks about how the leaders and the elders all got together to discuss certain actions that were the congregation were doing.

And I don’t know if that happens at my church. If it’s just our pastor makes a decision and we just have to re-follow it. Of course, as long as I, for myself, I study to show myself approved, but I don’t always agree. Does that, does my question make sense? Yeah, well it sure does. And you know that in the early church you see, always it mentions elders, or more than one that was in leadership. I know we have elders and deacons in my church here and we meet regularly and what we like to do is to have our elders in harmony and vote unanimous for things that we want to do.

If there’s somebody who has a hesitation, we generally just say let’s wait on it until we all are in agreement because we want our leaders to be in agreement. But we have a sheet or an article that I’ve written. It’s on the internet, if you go to the internet to BibleLineMinistries.org and click on Dr. Lynch’s articles. You can download the requirements for elders and deacons that have a sheet on that, or we can mail it to you if you call our 800 number and ask our person to send that sheet out to you.

You can do that, but you’ll find if you read Titus chapter 1 or 1 Timothy chapter 3, those chapters give about 20 requirements for those that are elders and deacons. And generally, I’ve never seen any place in the New Testament where a church just had one elder. There was always more than one. And of course, there’s the pastor teacher who is an elder, but then there are other elders and it’s kind of nice to have an agreement at the headship of the church and the leadership that the people can look to.

And certainly if something goes array that they can to guide the ship when the ship is maybe going through a storm. So I think that definitely that you should have elders and deacons in the church and That’s the New Testament policy or the way it was established. And you see it in the book of Acts chapter 6, as you just mentioned, where the apostles got together and said we needed to add people that would be deacons that would carry out some of the administration of the duties within the church so that the apostles could continue to carry their focus, which was the ministry of the word and prayer.

Right. And I have to tell you that we do have ministry leaders and their men ministry leaders and their ministers. But it’s not equality. The pastor is in charge. He’s the head of our church and he’s in charge. You understand what I mean? I understand. There’s only one person who’s completely in charge and then he has the ministry leaders who answer to him. So I don’t think there’s any voting going on. The thing is brought to us and this is what we’re going to do and then everybody just does what we’re talking about.

Do you have a written… It’s for whatever reason it just doesn’t fit right back to it. Sure. You have a written constitution that outlines who has the power. Obviously, you know, in the Bible the elders were responsible for the spiritual direction of the church and the spiritual purity of the church and so on. And then the deacons were to take care of the other things. Actually the word deacon means table waiter and they were to carry out the other responsibilities of the physical needs of the church, not only the individuals but perhaps the properties and the grounds and taking out the offerings and other things like that.

I’m trying to think of a good book on that. I think there is a book that does a good job on that I can’t think of it right now off my head, but I would certainly read those two chapters at least and you’ll give you a little bit of full understanding. You might look to see if your church has any flowchart that includes these others, but if they’re not elected people and they’re just hired by the pastor in terms of under his control, that’s a different ballgame.

That’s not the same thing as the leaders. We do have a flowchart that, again, the people who fall underneath the pastor and his wife, because of the unfollow son, Holy Spirit is the beginning of the flowchart, then our pastor, then the leaders of ministries, men leaders of ministries and their spouses, that they were selected by the pastor. They do not have any equality whatsoever with the pastor. You know, he makes the decisions and we… And then they take care of us.

It’s like he said, they do kind of follow the role of deacons and elders, except our pastor is over them. And it’s clear that no questions are asked or, you know, he’s in charge. And that’s the part that’s scary because I’m going to read what you’ve Titus and part Timothy and Simon. Well, somebody does have to believe that they also need to be accountable. Right. That’s it. Yeah. When you’re not accountable to any, I mean, we all are accountable to Christ, but it’s so easy when he’s not physical to be led astray.

And we may hear another spirit opposed to the Holy Spirit. Right. Well, I’ll pray for you and pray that you can come to an understanding what the Scripture teaches and make your decisions based on that. Thank you very much. That was Lindsay in St. Petersburg. We’re now going to Jason in Indian Rocks Beach and that’s here at Florida. Welcome Jason to Bhagwan. Hi. Good morning. Good morning. How are you, Dr. Lid? I just want to thank you so much for your ministry.

I’ve learned a lot about salvation and have just had a joy in hearing all that you’ve shared about salvation. I do have a question regarding Galatians 519. And I was just curious of your thoughts on that. And then also my second part question was, my aunt recently asked me about Benny Hinn. And I was just wondering your thoughts on him. All right. Well in Galatians 519, it’s talking here about the works of the flesh. This is talking about a believer and the struggle that every believer has with their two natures.

And it says in verse 17 that the flesh, that’s the flesh nature inherited from Adam, lust of the against the spirit which refers to the birth of the spirit, the new birth, and the spirit against the flesh. So they, as it says here as the verse continues, these are contrary to the one to the other. So the flesh doesn’t want to please God necessarily, but the spirit does want to please the Lord. And so it says here it causes a conflict so that you cannot do the things that you would.

So the secret is in verse 16 that we need to choose to walk in the Spirit. That means to walk in obedience to the Spirit of God who is the author of scripture who guides our steps through the word of God. And then it says you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. So the lusts of the flesh really never go away, but if you cater to or submit to the new birth or the spirit nature, then you wind up not fulfilling the lust of the flesh nature and that’s the key to having victory.

Now if you walk in the flesh, then it tells us in verse 19, 20 and 21, these are the kind things you’re going to have in your life which obviously hopefully we wouldn’t want to have adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, invings, murders, drunkenness, revelings and so on. And it says, obviously these are the results of walking or living in the flesh and a Christian can do that. And it’s saying that you don’t want to do that because that is what causes the loss to be condemned if they die without Christ.

Verse 22 says, but the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance against such there is no law. So if you are going to walk in the Spirit, as verse 16 says, then the fruit that you’ll have is the fruit that the Spirit will manifest in your life and everybody I think would like to have joy. They’d like to have peace. They’d like patience and all So basically if I stopped following the scriptures and walked just after whatever my flesh desires, the consequences are described in verses 19 through 23 for any believer.

And obviously some of the greats of the Bible know it got drunk because he obviously was following the flesh right after the flood and got drunk and the consequences were great. And also David committed adultery with Bathsheba and murdered her husband, Uriah. And so those were believers who committed to acts. And the list goes on. The Bible doesn’t hide the sins of the believers, but there you see many that were walking in the flesh, at least at those times in their life.

So at that point, I mean, if you’re a believer and you’re entertaining these things. well you say but then you’re going to suffer the the loss of reward you’re in kuragod’s chasing or discipline upon your life you’ll stand just to christ and give an account the embarrassed and suffer loss of reward for eternity for it and so the consequences are great but uh… as a believer we need to walk in the spirit Is this saying you will not inherit the kingdom of God, so you don’t believe?

No, it’s saying that that is true of those who don’t know Christ. They will not because they’ll stand before God and have to be cast into hell because of those things. We who are believers have been delivered from the penalty of sin and it tells us a little bit later that I think it’s verse 24 that we are flesh has been crucified with Christ and therefore we are not going to be cast into hell. We’ll never experience it. the second death will never go to hell as a believer.

But he’s warning us here that what kind of life do you want to have? Right, once you’re a believer you have a choice of how you want to live that life style. And there are some believers who choose to be rebellious just like if you’re a parent, your child can be rebellious and not follow your instructions. and that makes it difficult for the parent and also makes it for a miserable child too. Sure. And God wants us to be happy and He wants to discipline us so that we might receive the rewards and the benefits and the blessings and the fruit of the Spirit in our lives as Christians.

Sure. So it doesn’t say, in fact, the passage in 1 Corinthians 6, you might write this down as a parallel passage, verses 9 through 11, it lists that same list of sins, and then it says, and such were some of you, but you are washed, you are justified, you are sanctified in the name of the Lord Jesus in the spirit of our God. So it tells us that the believer has been washed or cleansed, and we will not have the consequences that the lost will have, who will not go to heaven, who will not inherit the Kingdom of God because they are standing before God in their sin, whereas we will stand before God in Christ having our sins forgiven.

That’s a great cross-reference there. It says, you have been washed. You have been, although they were in those categories, they have been washed, justified, sanctified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the spirit of our God. And the appeal then to serve the Lord in that chapter goes on down to verse 19 and 20 where it says, what don’t you realize that your body now is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you and you’re bought with a price?

Therefore glorify God in your body and your spirit which you’re his. So we belong to the Lord and we should live to please him because he gave his life so that we might live. And so the appeal is now to live for Christ because of what He did for us, because of our wonderful future that’s ahead after death when we go to be with the Lord. But it’s not a threat that we’re going to go to hell. We’ve been washed, we’ve been justified, we’ve been sanctified.

And now we need to recognize that our bodies are His temple. And we obviously grieve the Lord whenever we use our bodies in a way that does not glorify him but simply is feeding our flesh. So now it’s living out of a heart of obedience as opposed to what can I get away with as a Christian. Exactly. Yeah. All right. Well Jason, thanks for the call. Thank you, sir. And I just might ask me a question about Benny Hinn and I didn’t have a lot to give back to him after I had a question.

Well Benny Hinn is obviously far off from the scriptures. We have a book here written by Hank Hennigraft and a resource center called Christianity in what is it? Tricies. And that one details a lot of things. He obviously is saying a lot of things that he just makes up as he goes along. He says, and the quotes are all in this book, in fact there’s also a CD you can get that It has the quotes right off of his programs.

But he says that Adam and Eve, for example, before the fall, could fly to the moon. They could swim under the sea without gills or without scuba equipment. That whole lot of just real absolute craziness. He believes that Trinity is actually nine, not three. And he believes that each member of the Godhead is also a Trinity. there’s actually nine members of the Godhead, not three. He has some really strange beliefs. His gospel is not right. And so I believe he’s a false prophet.

Well, thank you for that. I can share that with her. All right. Thank you, Dr. Lindstrom. You’re welcome, Jason. And thank you for calling in from Indian Rocks Beach. We have Nathan down in Bradenton, Florida, and Nathan welcome to Bibleline You’re on the air. Good morning. Comment the comment and a question please. In regard to whether or not we as Christians should forgive us if in fact we do send a transgress against his law or against his word. The is almost David who was a man after God’s own heart.

In Psalms 25 and 18 typically to forgive him for having sent against him and of course in several other places as well. And then in Matthew 6 and 12 Jesus He just himself taught us to ask God for forgiveness and to give others forgiveness as they ask it of us. And then it was… And then of course in Matthew 7 and 7 with read, ask and he shall be given. See, can you shall find not going to shall be opened unto you?

And so I would use this simple example that if my son wrecked my car last night and came to me and just confessed it and said, hey, that I wrecked your car, that wouldn’t be quite enough for me to get that he were guilty and convicted of his sins and sorry for his sins in his own heart. It’s a damnable heresy to teach that Christians can go around just telling God what they did and expect that regardless of their attitude in the matter matter that the cross covers that the whole that gamut however uh…

my my comment or my question rather is this uh… if in fact judas had not betrayed price then what would have happened to judas Well he was still good at hell because he never was a believer. John 664 says he was well an unbeliever. So because he never trusted Christ, Judas was lost and was still going the health he’s going to help because he’s going to help because he committed suicide a lot of people uh… teach that you just want to help because he committed suicide that’s not true either no i understand and i do think that we’re not justified by our works uh…

or saved by our works let me put it that way but uh… but the scripture does teach by the works you will know them uh… with the stuff which is something that you were just describing a reference to penny in and then in the bible says that even a child is known to be pure or evil by his works even by the account. So my question again is this, apparently you believe that if Judith had been saved and I’m and i mean uh…

it going to your church and attending your church and had your blessing and then be treated by state still could not have gone to hell he would have gone straight to heaven if he had been a believer now as far as that you should know the mother works that is not really what it says in Matthew 7 Christ was talking about false teachers and he says you should know them by their fruit. Now fruit there I believe is their converts or their proselytes.

In other words he talks about a good tree bringing forth good fruit and evil or corrupt tree bringing forth evil fruit. So I believe for example the Jehovah’s Witnesses. I don’t have to go to Brooklyn, New York to the head of the Watchtower Society to discover that the Joe’s Witnesses are wrong. All I have to do is examine their fruit when they come knocking on my door. The same thing is true of the Mormons. I just examine their fruit when they knock on my door.

I don’t have to go out to Utah, to Salt Lake City, to their headquarters to discover that. It’s saying there, in other words, hopefully you would learn a lot about me by talking to somebody maybe I’ve led to Christ and taught that they would be hopefully sound and doctrine and they would have salvation correct and have received the Lord as their Savior. So I think that we’re looking at works. Sometimes the cults have better works than genuine Christians and that’s an unfortunate embarrassment to us.

But definitely the fruit when you examine the fruit as to what they believe about Christ and about the major doctrines of the Bible they are seriously flawed. But I’ll let you clarify for me again that you believe that if Judas had been a genuine Christian, if he had genuinely at some time been saved, at even though he would betray Christ, he still would have went to heaven. Absolutely. And you know, Jesus made the statement in John 6, 37, him that cometh to me, I will in no wise cast out.

That means for no reason or any circumstance would he ever cast you out. And even more, and better than that is John 639 where Christ said, this is the Father’s will which has sent me that of all which have given me I should lose none. But raise them up against the last day. And so he would not lose any. So if Judas were saved, he could not lose even Judas because he said he would not lose any and that was God the fathers of course will.

Thank you very much, Nathan. I have to run. But you made a good point on the confession. But I think the issue goes back on that to is it a requirement to ask for forgiveness to be saved and the answer is no. We are saved by trusting what Christ did for us and it’s not us asking or or Anything it’s not even our prayer. It’s our trusting that he died for us that saves as We trust in what he did for us and it’s Christ who saved when we put our trust in him good good points And thank you for calling.
