Bibleline Radio Show – 2007-02-15 – Only Begotten Son

John 3:16 reminds us of this wonderful doctrine of the incarnation of God in a human body. Jesus was then to die on Calvary to pay for the sins of all mankind, so that all who would trust (believe) on Christ would not perish, but have everlasting life.

are also on our website. Plus, we have our worship services and you can go ahead and see so much articles I’ve written and many other things. We have some exciting books in our Resource Center. One is called The Final Drama by John F. Wahlberg. He was a past president of the Dallas Philological Seminary. Excellent writer, one of my favorites, and he’s got this book, ticket a book, called Fourteen Keys, the Understanding Profiting Scripture. This is a jewel, and we have that in our Resource Center.

We also have Hal Lindsey’s book, The Everlasting Hatred. If you want to understand the conflict in the Middle East, this will help you because it begins in Genesis with the hatred that began with Isaac and Ishmael that takes us right down to today. You certainly want to get a copy of this book. It will help you understand it. And we have that in our Resource Center. We also have the book New Testament Teaching on Tongues by Merle Unger, an outstanding book.

Merle Unger has the Unger Bible Dictionary and many other wonderful volumes that he’s written. This one is exceptionally good called New Testament teaching on tongues. It goes over the passages in 1 Corinthians 12, 13, and 14 and demonstrates from Scripture that the gift of tongues ceased at the end of the first century with completion of the New Testament and it is over. There is nobody today speaking in the biblical gift of tongues which was a known foreign language. It was even more Other than that it was a specific dialect of that language and used to communicate to those of different languages the gospel message it was to win the lost.

It says in 1 Corinthians 1422, tons are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to those that believe not. So no one take a look at that book and many of us that we have in our Resource Center, you can see a listing of them on the Internet site. Or you can call and we’ll send you a resource sheet that will give you a listing of all these different resources that we have. Good to be with you.

We’ll be taking calls in a minute. We have a lot of all-fare questions that we need to get answered today. And if you want to call us, the number is 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. And give us a call and you can get up on the air with us live. And or you can leave an leave an offer a question which will try to answer as soon as we possibly can. We’re going to go right to some of these offer questions I believe right now because we have so many.

We have Diane in Tampa, Florida and she says, was King Nebuchadnezzar saved? Well, he didn’t begin save, but it looks like by Chapter 4, this man came to know Jesus as his Savior. And if you read Daniel chapter 4, you see the testimony of Nebuchadnezzar, where I think he has gotten saved. And these words are so amazing. They’re just like anybody that would be a believer would say. It says in verse 1 of chapter 4 of Daniel, Diane, Nebuchadnezzar, the king, unto all of people, nations, languages that dwell in all the earth.

Peace be multiplied unto you.” That sounds like a good New Testament phrase, doesn’t it? I thought it good to show the signs and wonders that the High God hath wrought toward me. How great are His signs and how mighty are His wonders. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom and His dominion even from generation to generation. And so here we have, I think, Nebuchadnezzar as a safe man by the time we get to chapter 4. So in answer to your question, I do believe indeed that he became saved.

We’re going to go to John now in Richmond, Virginia and John, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Oh yeah, thank you for taking my car, Palsane. I just wanted to get you to a sound on where Jesus fulfilled the law. And this is what I’m believing. I’m believing that some of the pastors and teachers are here, they’re teaching things that are Old Testament that’s been fulfilled. And I just wanted you to astound on how the transition from old covenant to new covenant and what’s the difference?

Alright well basically the covenant given from Mount Sinai could never save anybody. So Christ came along and fulfilled the law. He was absolutely sinless. And He exchanged at the cross our sins for His righteousness. I love 2 Corinthians 521, 2 Corinthians 521, that says that God made Christ to be sin for us, Christ who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. It tells us in Romans 8 verse 3 for what the law could not do, in that it was weak through through the flesh, that is, our flesh, and the fact that we broke the law, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin condemned sin in the flesh.

That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, not by us, but in us. In other words, when we trust Christ, the very righteousness that the law demanded, the very righteousness of God is credited to the account of the believer. And every believer is seen by God as righteous. So the law could never save anybody. The Bible tells us that no one has ever been saved by the law. When you go to chapter 3 of Romans, it tells us in conclusion of chapter 3 the summary of the first three chapter of Romans and it says in verse 28, therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

So when a person places their faith in Christ, it’s at that point they become saved and they’re saved eternally. So John I hope that helps you and we… We certainly appreciate your call today. The number here at Bibleline is 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. So we hope that you’ll keep listening and tell your friends about the program. Don, in Tampa, Florida calls in with this offer question, do you agree with any or all the five points of Calvinism? Well, I don’t agree with them as they’re generally presented.

I believe they could not be considered a one point or a two point or a three point or a four point Calvinist. It seems that’s the way it’s going nowadays. One of them that can never be defended at all is number 3, which is limited atonement. The Bible is very clear that Christ died for all. Calvinism teaches he only died for the elect or those that God chose to be saved. It says in 1 John chapter 2 and verse 2, Christ is the propitiation, that’s a big word, but it means satisfying sacrifice for our sins.

And then it goes on to say, and not for our sins only, but also for the sins of the whole world, how can you get limited to Atonement out of that verse? Obviously, it is contrary to the Bible. But basically, the first one is that we’re totally depraved, and certainly we are sinners and unable to save ourselves, which is what the first point of Calvinism teaches. But they say that you are spiritually dead and not even capable of believing.

They say dead men can’t do anything, therefore can’t believe. That’s not true. Jesus says in John 5.25 that the hour is coming and now is when the dead, spiritually dead, those that are living, would hear the voice of the Son of God and they would hear that his receiving his words would be saved, that they would live. Verse 24 he proceeds up by saying, Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word. So lost people can hear the words of the Son of God, Jesus Christ.

And when they hear his message of death, his death and burial and resurrection is the means of salvation. And believe that message, according to John 524, three things happen. They have eternal life at that very moment and forever thereafter. They are promised that they will never come into condemnation and thirdly the Bible says they’re passed from death Underlife so they were dead They hear the voices of the Son of God and become saved in verse 25 He goes on to explain that and says the hour is coming and now is when Those who hear the voice of the Son of God Hearing it receiving it will receive eternal life.

They will be saved and so dead men can hear so I disagree with number one, so I strike that from the list. Point number two is unconditional election, which I certainly believe in unconditional election. We are not elected on the basis of our works, our church membership, our baptism, our confirmation or anything else, but the Calvinist says not even on the basis of belief. I disagree with that because we are chosen upon belief. 2 Thessalonians 2.13 says that we have been chosen from the foundation of the world.

Most people stop reading there. It says through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth. So when you believe the truth, then you become chosen. God chose before the foundation of the world to save all that would believe. Upon your belief of the truth or trusting Christ, you become saved. So definitely I disagree with point number two, except obviously we’re not saved or chosen based upon our works, our deeds or anything else, but we are chosen when we believe the scriptures clearly teach that Calvinism is wrong on that.

The third one is limited to Toman. I don’t agree with that. Christ died for all men. Hebrews 2 9 says Christ tasted death for every man. I don’t know how anybody could possibly try it with the Bible anyway, defend the third point of Calvinism. The fourth point is called irresistible grace and the Calvinist teaches that God picks up people to be saved. Then he comes upon them and they cannot resist his grace. They are overcome and saved against their will.

Really, God saves those that he chooses according to Calvinism with disregard to your belief or He makes the choice for you. Certainly that’s not true in the book of Acts. It clearly tells us in Stephen’s message that The Jewish people had resisted God’s grace over the ages. He says in verse 51 of Acts 7, you stiff-hearted or stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears. You do always resist the Holy Spirit. So here the Holy Spirit can be resisted and irresistible grace as you cannot resist the Holy Spirit.

He comes and overpowers the unbeliever that’s chosen to be saved and they believe as a consequence of being chosen rather than being chosen as a consequence of believing, which I believe is the correct order. We have Naomi in Tampa, Florida and Naomi, welcome to my line. You’re on the air. Good morning. How are you? Good. Do you believe that tragic incidents such as a child being abused or a young person dying as meaning what they before their time and illnesses such as tragic illnesses would have to be given authority from the Lord?

Absolutely. I really believe that with all my heart. I had my son at 16, he had killed in a car accident and that was just an unexpected event in my life who would have ever dreamed that I would lose him. We decided to make the best of that and accept it from God and we know that we had a funeral for service for him for claiming the gospel. We must have had, I don’t know, hundreds and hundreds of teens get saved.

He had a lot of friends and in fact we had to have 12 police sheriff’s cars that we hired to direct the funeral procession. And with all the news that we blocked all the traffic in Tampa, that was a big funeral and we got a lot of people saved. And I said to myself the moment I knew that he was gone that I’m going to try to reach as many of his friends for Christ as I can so that they’ll all join him in heaven.

And I believe that we were blessed of God to be able to reach really hundreds and hundreds of teenagers that came to his service and God saved. And so we need to, when things come our way, look for what God can do to turn it to a blessing. And although we have certainly missed him and grieve his loss, we know he’s in heaven. trusted Christ and we tried to reach as many of his friends for Christ that we possibly could and and the Lord blessed in that regard and so we’re tickled at that but a lot of his friends will be in heaven with him one day.

Wonderful, thank you so much for that. I appreciate it. You have a blessed day. Thank you Naomi and sometimes we have to look at the positive side of tragedy. And by the way, here’s the verse that I love very much. 1 Corinthians 10 tells us in verse 13, if you’re going through trials or tribulations and difficult times, it tells us in verse 13 of chapter 10 of 1 Corinthians, there has with no temptation or testing, taken you, but such as as common to men, and God is faithful who will not allow you to be tempted above that which you are able, but will with the temptation or trial also make a way to escape that you may be able to bear it.

So in other words, God watches over you and he will never bring a circumstance in your life that is greater than you are able to handle. He knows your limits and definitely he will watch over the trial so that you will not go through and experience more difficult than you are going to be able to handle. By the way, going back to that question on Calvinism, the fifth point is the one that I really see as the worst point of Calvinism called the Perseverance of the Saints.

This is of course the so-called eternal security point, but it’s the back door by which basically most Calvinists add works to salvation. They say that you will persevere if you have been elected of God and chosen and that your Christian life will improve. That is not based upon Scripture at all. I’m going to be eternally saved, not because I persevere. I am eternally saved because my Savior perseveres forever because He is faithful that promised salvation to me. And certainly that’s the order and that’s what the Bible teaches, but that’s why I am eternally saved because He is faithful.

It says in verse 9 of 1 Corinthians chapter 1, God is faithful by whom you were invited Thank you. He is the fellowship of his son Jesus Christ our Lord. So when you trust Christ because he is faithful and will never break the promise that he made that he promised to save you eternally. When you trust him as your Savior you can know that you are eternally saved. But it is not dependent upon my response. If I never served the Lord a single day I would still be saved.

But there would be consequences. When you go to 1 Corinthians chapter 3 in verse 15 when it talks about the Lord is the Lord. the judgment seat of Christ, it says in verse 15, if any man’s work shall be burned, that’s when our works are examined at the judgment seat of Christ, it says here he shall suffer loss, but he himself shall be saved, yet so has by fire. In other words, this verse tells me that if a person had done nothing for Christ, if all All their works were of no value for reward, and they were all burnt up.

The person would suffer loss of reward, obviously, but it says you are very plainly, he himself shall be saved. That runs absolutely contrary to the doctrine of Calvinism called the Perseverance of the Saints that says you have to have works, and unless you have works it would demonstrate that you were never chosen. is not true and there is no verse to support that. In fact, there are those in the Bible who went in a negative direction after they got saved and one of the classic examples is Lot.

He didn’t improve. He went downhill. He went down, down, down and literally down into the Sodom Valley. Abraham lived up above that. The Sodom Valley is below sea level. Dead Sea is about 1,300 feet below sea level. And so this is where a lot went. He not only went down spiritually, but down geographically to the lowest spot on the face of the earth to live, and his life was a mess. But yet the Bible tells us in Peter that he was righteous before God.

That’s because of his faith, not because of his works. And so this is just a lie. Now, definitely every believer on a live for Christ. And it’s a choice that we have, just like we have a choice to accept or reject Christ. And if you reject Christ by choice, then you go to hell and it’s on your head. And the Bible tells those who reject Christ that they bring this judgment upon themselves because they reject the Savior that God has provided that no one needs to go to hell because Christ died for all men.

And if you trust Him, you’ll be saved. But then after your saved, you have the choice to serve or not to serve. And if you choose not to, there are consequences. Not hell, but you will certainly suffer the loss of reward. And you will suffer and experience the embarrassment, the regret, the tears, the sorrows, and the ashamedness that a believer will experience at the judgment of the state of Christ. Let me just quote a familiar verse. Intimacy 215 says study to show thyself approved unto God.

That word approved means approved at the judgment seat of Christ. And it says here as a workman, we ought to be working for Christ after we’re saved. We need to study to know what to do as we work for God. And it says that you may be not ashamed. There will be believers who will be ashamed, who have not studied and have not worked according to God’s Word and who have not rightly divided the Word of Truth. So when you look at 2nd Timothy 15, it’s not talking about earning your way to heaven, it’s talking to the believer and saying study to show yourself approved, and that’s at the judgment’s heat of Christ, as a workman that needs not to be ashamed.

Some workman will be ashamed and they’ll have tears and regret and sorrow and loss of reward because they didn’t work for God or didn’t work according to God’s word, not rightly dividing a word of truth. So obviously I reject all five points of Calvinism as they are generally presented. There is some truth generally in all of them, but I’m afraid that anybody who believes in eternal security is generally labeled as a Calvinist. And anybody who believes you can lose it is generally labeled as Armenian in theological terms.

I believe there’s another position. That’s the Bible. What does the Bible say? And I’m in line, I hope, with the Bible. That’s what I attempt to be in line with Scripture. And if you can show me in Scripture, then I’m going to be obligated to believe it. Because this is the book that I find in God’s Word. I want to thank all of you for listening today. We’re going to have to hold off the rest of questions here until the second half hour.

If you haven’t trusted Christ, why not whisper that prayer right now? Just say, Lord, I’m a sinner. I don’t understand much about the Bible. But I believe Jesus died for me, was buried, grows again from the dead. I trust him right now. That’s my Savior. In the moment you do, God will save you. And I pray that you’ll do that and then make a second decision to serve him. and you’ll be so glad you did. We’re gonna go to our break and we’ll come back and do the second half hour of Bibleline.

If you haven’t given a gift to Bibleline, would you consider doing that? We really have no other way of keeping these programs going, except for the partnership we have between our listeners and those who are here in our studios that help get this program out.

Your help is absolutely indispensable to this program. And again, thank you in advance for praying for us and for giving to my one. We’re going to go to Kay now and she’s up in Richmond, Virginia and Kay, welcome to Bible and thank you, sir. Good morning, Pastor. My question is can someone who the believer who’s confessed the name of Christ and believe don’t Christ live in adultery their entire life practically and still be saved and go to heaven? Well, they can, but there are consequences to that.

If they’re genuinely saved, most likely God is going to spank them and they’re going to have a lot of difficulties. You have 1 Corinthians 5, an example there of a man living in point of cation. In this case, it’s even real bad. It says with his mother, apparently it’s a stepmother and the Lord says in verse 5, to deliver such a one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh that’s his body, that the spirit may be saved in the day of Lord Jesus.

So if nothing’s happening that way, it’s probably then the guy is not saved. But if he’s genuinely saved, then definitely God is going to be all over him. And I don’t think he’s going to be able to pull that off without major consequences in his life. So the Bible changes. I’m not a detective, Mitch, is that adulterous? Can I enter into the kingdom? Is that the same thing as heaven? That is exactly right. But again, that’s talking about people without Christ.

You may have committed any kind of sin and not the only unpardonable sin is to reject Christ. When you see that listing that you’re just talking about there in 1 Corinthians 6, 9 and 10, most people don’t read far enough. verse 11 says, and such were some of you, but you are washed, you are justified, you are sanctified in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then he goes on to say that all things are lawful to us who are believers, but it’s not expedient to do them.

In other words, we really could do anything and still go to heaven according to verse 10 there, I mean verse 12, but that’s not a smart thing to do because you’re going to stand before the Lord one day and give an account, you’ll be ashamed, you’ll suffer loss of reward and they will be regret and tears as you enter heaven. But also there will be consequences here as the Lord disciplines delinquent believers. So you can’t live as you please and get away with it.

You will go to heaven, but you might get to heaven soon and you’re planned on it or the other consequences will come down on you pretty hard. God is not going to allow you to live as you please. Hebrews 12 is a great chapter to read on this where it says, whom the Lord loves, he chases and scourges every sun. Who may receive? So if you received in his family by the new birth, he’s definitely going to be involved in chasing or disciplining in your life.

Verse 8 says, and here’s the verse you need to write down. Hebrews 12-8, if anybody be without chastisement, where of it says all are partakers, then it says you’re a bastard and not a son. In other words, you’re illegitimate and claiming to be a Christian. If you could get away with living as you pleased without God’s chasing or disciplining your life, then you could be a Christian. So if somebody is not apparently being chasin’ or disciplined, I would write them off as being unsaved.

That they are a bastard claiming to be a Christian illegitimately so when they’re not really born again at all. Thank you, Pastor. All right. Kay, thank you so much for calling in from Richmond, Virginia. We have Lou in Tampa, Florida, and Lou, welcome to Bibleline your On The Earth. Well, good morning, Dr. Hank. How are you? Good. I think you’ve touched on this before, Dr. Hank. I’m going to use Psalms as an example. Psalm 38 in one of the verses, I think 15, the word Lord is used twice.

The first word it says, oh Lord, and Lord is all capital letters, and somewhere else in that same verse, it says Lord again, capital letter, and then small lowercase letters on the ORD. What was the reason for that? Well, Schilfield has some good notes if you use the Schilfield Bible back in the Book of Genesis. But Lord and all capitals, capital L, capital O, capital R, capital D, the translators are letting you know this is God’s personal name, Yahweh or Jehovah.

Then Lord in small letters comes from the Hebrew word Adonoi, govtrack which is a term of respect means Master Lord King ruler, the one that you ought to respect and be obedient to. Could that be Christ? Well, absolutely. Sure. Okay. So we could be talking about Jehovah. In the same verse David could be speaking of Jehovah God and Christ to come. Absolutely. Alright. Alright. Thank you Dr. Hank. Appreciate it. You’re very welcome. Thank you Lou for calling in today. We have Bill in Port Charlotte Florida and Bill.

Welcome to Bibleline You’re on the earth. Yeah. I’d like to find out if I understood you correct, but the baptism of the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues does not exist anymore. Well the baptismal spirit does it Every believer is baptized with Holy Spirit. It says in 1 Corinthians 12, 13, 4 by 1 Spirit. we all, A-L-L, baptized into one body. That’s the placing of the believer into the body of Christ at the moment of belief. But tongues is a gift that is ceased.

It’s one of the gifts that was temporary. In 1 Corinthians 13, 8 through 10, it tells us that tongues would cease when the New Testament record was completed, and it did. And you read down through church history, tongues was gone. And this revival of tongues, it began in Azusa Street out in California in 1906, is a counterfeit movement. That’s a gibberish. Nobody doing that knows what they’re saying, nor does anybody that hears them know what they’re saying. And the real gift was a communication tool.

It says in 1 Corinthians 14, 9, except you speak by the tongue, words easy to be understood, how shall be known what is spoken. You just are blowing hot air into the air and you’re wasting your breath it says in our first friend is fourteen nine so the real gift is gone uh… the modern movement is a counterfeit i’ve never seen anybody yet that spoke in a known for my which without training uh… and if they did have that gift and they should use it for evangelism and i don’t see that happening either so it means that uh…

all these churches like pedicot or all or speaking in tongues and and whatnot are not to Well, they’re doing the gibberish and they’re having fun at it, but it’s not the real gift and the Mormons also do it They’re not even Christian the Buddhists do it the people in Islam do it. It’s done by all the world religions This gibberish is done everywhere the Eskimos do it. I mean this gibberish is I was reading a national geographic on a flight to Dallas and it talked about the same thing in South America from Chile all the way up the Andes chain that all these countries did this esthetic speech at the gibberish and has nothing to do with Christianity.

It is something that’s done in a seance with a witch and the witch will break into this esthetic gibberish speech. you can read about the encyclopedias done worldwide by all the different religions of the world if it’s from god why does he give it to all these people that don’t even know christ or don’t even believe the bible Well, how about the people that do know the Bible? Well, I think it tells me that they don’t know their Bible and they’re being fooled with a counterfeit gift.

And especially when you read that Christ said in Matthew 24 24, as a sign of His coming as we get at the end of the age, He says false preachers would arise and they would show great signs and miracles in so much that if it were possible the very elect would be deceived in Christ as I’m warning you aces in verse 20. 25 of Matthew 24 I tell you this before it happens Don’t get tricked in other words in the last days.

We’re not to expect genuine Christians to do signs and wonders We’re to expect false preachers to do it and that’s exactly what’s happening What’s that book you were talking about? It’s called it’s called the New Testament teaching on tongues by Merle under and we have it here I think it’s like gift of fifteen dollars and we could ship it right out to you. It is an excellent teaching on tongues. New Testament teaching on tongues by Merle Unger. He’s a very respected writer.

I’ve got right in front of me here Unger’s commentary on the Old Testament. Excellent, excellent reference material. I’ve got his new, got his Bible dictionary. Excellent and well-known and well-respected dictionary. He’s written many, many books and this is one of the classics I think he’s written called the New Testament teaching on tongues any exegetes chapter 12, 13 and 14 of Corinthians. It’s excellent Is he the same hunger that has the The Bible according yep Right, yes, that’s correct How old was this bookman out?

I could probably tell you in a second. Here I went. I laid it down by my feet here and I’m picking it up to see what the copyright is on this particular book So that he has scriptural references and everything. Oh my he goes. Yeah, absolutely verse by verse here The counter analyst book is 1971 There’s a whole bunch of churches that are wrong man. That’s correct You’re absolutely right So this I Was how do I get that how do I get that book call back on our 800 number that’s for one of our operators in the bookstore in our research it was that the uh…

and a crystal book store by the way or not may or may not you know we have we stock it but uh… i’m sure they could order for you but we have it right here available for you will be able to do that new testament to you on time that’s our thinking on time okay okay thank you bill thank you you know it’s interesting you know because i i discovered what i got saved there were so many things that i have been taught in my church that were wrong.

And I had to come to grips with that. I had to choose either my church and its teachings, or I had to choose the Bible. And I think you know which direction I went. I chose the Bible over my church. And I realized as time went along that I’ve been taught wrong on a lot of things. And we were teasing at Christmas time how, for example, on angels, my goodness. There is no such thing in the Bible as a female angel.

And yet, when you look at the angels that they hang on trees or the angels they sell in the mall and the angel collections that people have, they’re all female. They’re all female. I don’t know what they are. They’re not angels because angels are always male and angels don’t even have wings. There’s not a verse in the Bible that says angels have wings. They’re always mistaken for men. When the two angels that came to destroy Sodom walked into the city, they weren’t recognized as angels.

In fact, the whole city lusted after them and they wanted to rape these men. They thought they were men. It turns out the next morning that those two men, angels, destroyed the whole city and killed everybody there. So they were some tough guys, but they were not men. They were really angels. Thank you for that call. We’re now going to cook in Chester, Virginia and cook. Welcome to Bibleline your On The Line. Hi, it’s Nelly. Nelly, I’m sorry. I’m good at the deal.

Oh, you’re in McKinney’s shell. Okay, good. How you doing, Nelly? Well, I have done real good, but God loves me. I’ve had a lot of surgery on my back and things, but I need you to help me out a little bit. I’m trying to teach what he tells me to teach, and I’ve got a niece that’s very into being here and she thinks all these things that play in her in spirit and knocking her out in the floor is for real and i’ve tried to show her in the book of revelations and you know uh…

where it says this stuff is not from the lord they can do great wonders you know make time to come down That all line wonders. I show it to her in the Bible, but I hate to see her go to this man when he’s preaching false things. Well, you know we have a book here in our Resource Center called Christianity in Cryses by Hank Hennigraft. And it really exposes you. You know, Benny Henn believes there are nine members of the Trinity.

Yeah. That’s craziness. Yeah. And a lot of people that go to his meetings get hurt. I have one fellow in our church here that was slain in the spirit, fell back against the pew and has permanent back injuries. We had another lady that went last year against her son’s wishes. He said, Mom, please don’t go. She fell back. She hit her arm against the pew and broke it between the elbow and the shoulder. She’s still recovering. And she was screaming, been paying, and they told her to shut up and they took her out of the meeting because she was disturbing the meeting.

I think he should have healed her. If he hadn’t been, he hadn’t broke it. He should have fixed it. Exactly. And then she goes to one of the same kind of churches and where the woman comes every year and makes all this gold fall out of her hair. And I said, well, what is the need for that? I said, well, do me a favor. I know you’re tired of the time, but we could talk forever. I’d love it. I said, bring me some of this gold and let me see it.

I don’t believe it. And she did. She bought me, scooped some up and bought it. So I didn’t tell her. I took it up here to an old man. I know that’s the old man. He looked at it and he said, why are you showing me this? I said, I won’t tell you what you tell me what this is. He said, the only thing I can see is that you can grind up. He said, but definitely I hope you’re not trying to buy some of this.

It’s not gold. It’s fake. So then I told him the story. and he better feel like because he is a southern Baptist man. And, but I didn’t want to tell him what it was, just see what he would say. So I went back to her and told her, she said, well, I don’t guess he did recognize it. That’s not from this earth. You know. Yeah, they just want to believe whatever they want to believe. Yeah, so I don’t know what, you know, I’ve got one more question I’d like to ask because it kind of confused me.

Where he says, how should I be born again? I cannot go into my mother’s womb and he tells him by water. do you have to be baptized by water in order to be saved? No, no you don’t. That’s not talking about water baptism. It talks about a birth of water and that is the natural birth when you’re enclosed in the mother’s womb in a second water. When that water breaks, then out comes the baby and that’s what it’s talking about.

I don’t think it. I’ve been baptized but I was baptized in a Christian church. But I think it’s in other words if you want to be baptized you’re showing you know your faith in God exactly The moment yeah, and it’s hard for me I’m 73 now and it’s hard for me to really understand everything And I just wanted because there were so many people I’m sure died when they’re playing when the 9-11 They were Christians that maybe didn’t have a chance to be baptized and I said no that couldn’t be right that you had the bees No, just remember the dying thief.

He was never water baptized, but yet Christ said today you’re gonna be with me in paradise. One more question. How proud I let you go. When you are the Christians die, do they go directly up to heaven? Absolutely. 2 Corinthians 5, 8 says absent from the body, present with the Lord. Because one verse, I don’t know where it is, it says the dead shall rise first, it’s in Christ. now that’s not about the body the body rises and meets the soul that’s a lot of the board all right well i wish that uh…

do you have a church here in enrichment i wish i did but no i’m uh… down in campus where i have a new year in camp but i wondered if you had a or one up this way i don’t know no no no no no at the long way for me to come every day i know it i love you god bless you thank you nilly And unfortunately, this whole slaying in the Spirit thing is not biblical at all.

In fact, they’re probably telling us something. When I see people that fall backwards on the ground in the Bible, they’re unsaved. That’s right. Maybe they’re telling us without even realizing it, that they’re not saved. Read John 18, you have Christ in the Garden of Yosemite, you have all the soldiers coming to apprehend him, and he comes out and says, who are you looking for? and they said, Jesus of Nazareth, when He gives His divine name, He says, I am.

They all fell backward right on their back sides, right down on the ground. They were all in the same soldiers. They didn’t know the Lord. And I believe, because you can’t find an example of saved people experiencing this, that this in the Bible is a tip off to us when you see people being slain in the Spirit so called, which is unbiblical, that you actually have unsaved people doing this. So But all those people that fall down, I believe, are not saved.

I really believe that the Lord has let us see that in the Bible so you can recognize that they don’t know. The Lord as their savior. This is Bibleline. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. The phone number is 1-800-576-3771. And we have numerous calls here that are off air. We have Ken and Illinois. He says, would like to know when you are in Israel, will you have taped programs for your daily program? If so, would you do a whole program teaching for us how to be an effective witness for our Lord?

Well, that’s a great suggestion, Ken, and we’re going to hope to do some reports from Israel every day, and we’ll just see how that all works out. We obviously will be prepared to do that. I believe if we can get a clear line back to the states, We ought to be able to produce programs and you’ll hear some fresh stuff right from the land where Jesus was born and lived and died and and purchased our salvation. So we’re gonna do our best Ken in Illinois is concerned about when we leave for March next month that we’ll Have some exciting material for him to listen to in Illinois.

We’ll try we’re gonna do our best and thank you for calling in. It says you’re off air, Jack in Venice, Florida calls in and he says I love your article, Eternal Salvation. Could I please explain Revelation 2-5 and is talking there about not losing salvation but is talking about having your candlestick or lampstand removed. And you know each church in Revelation chapter 2 and 3 was a lamp and prophetically they pictured church history for us and the first church there described by the church’s Ephesus, the word Ephesus in the Greek means desirable, but this church was desirable.

It was fervent in their faith and their works and Jesus of course evaluates them but he says I have somewhat against thee because you’ve left your first love. What he warned about, unless they would change their mind, then he would remove their candlestick. That means that their opportunity, their privilege to be a witness for Christ would be removed. Then he moved to the next church age called by the church at Smyrna, a time of persecution and being a witness for Christ and so on and so on.

But it’s never a loss of salvation. Each church did lose their privilege as they drifted away after a period of time, but they never lost salvation, which cannot be lost. So notice there’s a division in them when you rightly divide the word of truth between the Christian life and the candle or lampstand that each church was is talking about their witness then you can lose your witness, but you can’t lose your salvation. And so we need to be alert to that.

In any case, we hope that you will take a look at our website. On Sundays, you can actually worship with us and watch our Sunday morning message every Sunday morning on the Internet.
