If one does not accept the shed blood of Christ, Christ will shed that person’s blood. No one will escape His wrath and fury except the saved, which have received by faith His shed blood. What about you, have you accepted the truth of Christ’s shed blood for you?

And welcome again to Bible and today. We are glad to be able to be with you. And we are live today. It’s Wednesday and Monday and Tuesday of this week. was at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention in Orlando, Florida. And there we made a lot of contacts and learned a lot and hopefully it will be a blessing to all of us. We believe we’re going to be able to get on the air in Africa and parts of Europe and also in Russia for free.
And we met some wonderful people that would like to take what we’re doing and even do the translation work for us. That’s exciting. Just a part of what we benefited from by going to this conference that occurs every year, the National Religious Broadcasters. I’m Dr. Englund Striman. We’re coming to you live right now from Tampa, Florida from our studios. It’s Wednesday and we hope that you’re having a great day. You’re always welcome to come by and visit our Resource Center, open every day till about 4.30 in the afternoon.
And we hope that you will do that. We hope also that you’ll maybe worship with us on Sunday or some Wednesday night, you can come out tonight at 6.30. We begin our service. The Bible study portion begins at 7 and we’d love to have you at ends at 8 o’clock. Sunday, of course, you can come at 9.15, join my adult class and put the kids in the other classes and you can stay for our worship service at 10.30 in the morning.
By the way, we webcast our morning worship. You can go on my website BibleLineMinistries.org.com and click there on the camera and you’ll be able to view our worship service. In fact, a lot of them are sitting there in their archives and you can go back and watch them. Let me recommend that you watch last Sundays. I think you’ll find it very, very fascinating. That was last Sunday’s sermon sitting right there waiting for you to look at that. Also, we had our classes last night.
We taught the class 7 and 8 in our series of 10 classes, 10 hours of teaching, on Jesus is coming. If you would like to get that series, you can call and order it. It will be available after next week when we conclude the class 9 and 10. We’ll have the series available on CD and we’ll also have it available on DVD. That’s going to be great. The DVD presentation is really crisp and clear and the sound is great.
It’ll be just like you’re sitting there right there on the front row in the classroom. We hope that you’ll take advantage. Take a look, if you will, on our website and our radio programs are streaming and we hope that you will take a look at all of those. We have a lot of off-air questions. We’ll try to get to those and answer them. And certainly we want you to call in the numbers 1-800-576-3771. That is 1-800-576-3771. And we invite you to call in and leave a question off here or be patient.
And we’ll put you up on the air. You can ask your question live on the radio. Last night, right after my class, I got a call from Flint, Michigan. And there we had a fellow that just couldn’t wait. And so I answered his question over the phone last evening as they listened from 9 to 10 at night in Flint, Michigan. In any case, we’re glad to have you on board today. Welcome to all of our people in Chattanooga, Nashville, Memphis, Tennessee.
Also for those in Mobile, Alabama in Pensacola, Florida and to the east over in Panama and Fort Walton Beach. I welcome all you folks over there in the land, Florida and all of the area in between. One fellow, forget the name of the little teeny town, but recognized my voice at the convention, and it turned out he figured out that he listened to me on the radio, out of the Dolan broadcast. And so we want to welcome all of you that are listening.
Wherever you might be, we have some of the people from the convention that said they’d be listening in their car this morning. So, welcome to all of you to the Bibleline program. We’ll talk a little bit about the Bible and then we’ll go right to the callers and you’re welcome again to call us at 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. Englundstrom and this is Bibleline and we are glad that you are with us this morning listening to the program as we come out of Tampa live from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church.
Chapter 19 of the book of Revelation is an exciting one and it really gives us a description here of the return of Jesus Christ out of heaven at his second coming. This is not the rapture. The rapture is the catching out of the bride of Christ. We believe the bride is the church. The body of believers comprised of everybody who has gotten saved from Pentecost until the last one is added to the body of Christ. That is when the rapture will happen and the church will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air and we which are living will be transformed into our new bodies and will be forever with the Lord.
What happens is, apparently, is a marriage takes place in heaven just before Jesus returns, and when he returns, there will be a thousand-year celebration during the millennium of the marriage of the Lamb to the bride, which is the church, and that is also included here. Let me read verse 7, where it says, Let us be glad and rejoice and give honor to him for the marriage of the Lamb is come and his wife has made herself ready. Now I love the Schofield Bible and the notes are so helpful and here is a wonderful note on this verse where it says in Dr.
Schofield’s notes written about a hundred years ago. It says here in the footnote the Lamb’s wife here is the bride, the church identified the bride of Christ and is to be distinguished from Israel, the adulterous and reputed wife of Jehovah yet to be restored. And so here it is the church. Then it says here, forgiven and restored wife could never be called a virgin as the church is or the bride of Christ. So here we find that it says in verse 9, he said unto me, right, blessed or happy are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.
And he said, he said unto me, these things are the true sayings of God. So those that are invited, who are they? Those are the people that get saved after the rapture during the tribulation period that are alive at the end of the seven years of tribulation. They will be invited to enter into the millennium as the subjects of that thousand year reign of Christ and they will enjoy this wonderful marriage supper which is the celebration of the marriage of Christ to the bride which is the Church, the body of Christ.
There’s another supper here mentioned down in verse 17. There’s the marriage supper of the Lamb which is I believe a thousand year celebration of the marriage of Christ to the Church to the bride. And then we have in verse 17 it says, I saw an angel standing in the sun and he cried with a loud voice saying to all the fouls that fly in the midst of heaven, come gather yourself together under the supper of the great God. Now this is a different supper and this happens right at the end of the tribulation period when Christ comes back, described in verses 11-16 here in Revelation 19.
And look at what is on the menu. If you were to grab one of the menus at the supper of the great God, it says here that you may eat the flesh of kings. Wow! So you can order up a king, or the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them. The flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great, there’s people on this menu.
And of course it’s not humans that eat them, it’s not cannibalism, but the fowls of the air are called to come, the buzzards, the eagles will come and feed all the birds of prey. We’ll come and feed on all these dead bodies. These are the millions and millions of bodies of the slain, those that are killed at the Battle of Armageddon. So the supper of the great God is not a very pleasant picture here to us. Dead bodies everywhere and vultures and birds of prey eating on their bodies and devouring them.
But that’s what’s on the menu here. And notice who are called to this one. It says here, a lot of boys saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, come and gather yourselves together under the supper of the great God. That you may eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of captains and the flesh of mighty men and the flesh of horses and of them that sit on them and the flesh of all men, the flesh of all men, both free and bond and that means slaves bond and both small and great.
Those that were poor, those that were rich and had importance in this world didn’t matter. If you died at the Battle of Armageddon, then the fouls of the year are called to eat the bodies all over the earth. So there are two suppers here in Revelation chapter 19. One is the marriage supper of the Lamb. That is a thousand year celebration. And notice it says here, blessed. It means happy. they which are called are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.
But we find that other supper come and die in here at the supper of the great God, is one of the fowls of the year being invited to come and died upon the dead bodies that are slain at Armageddon. This is an incredible chapter, and it says in verse 11, I saw heaven opened and behold white horse, and he that sat upon him was called faithful and true, and in righteousness that he judged and made war. This is Christ coming back at the second coming to rule and reign on the earth as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
And wow, that’s probably not too far away. Now it will be seven years after the Rapture, which happens first, and that’s when the bride is caught up and then the bride makes herself ready and the marriage takes place as Christ then comes back at his second coming and all believers are invited to enter into that thousand year kingdom and experience the marriage supper of the lamb which is a thousand year celebration of this marriage of Christ to his bride.
Well I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom and this is my blindest treat to be with you. looking forward to hearing from you today gives a call even if you just want to call and tell our offers hey i enjoyed by blind i’m hearing you loud and clear tell us where you’re calling in from so we’ll get some uh… idea about where people are listening and paying attention so uh… we’re going to join right now in st peter’s bird for them and john welcome to buy one year on the air i could morning i was one of your care comment on the uh…
ceremony significant the last Wednesday from a biblical standpoint Alrighty, I’m certain to do that. Thank you John Ash Wednesday is today and it’s the beginning day of Lent and by by the way There is no such thing as lent in your Bible. There might be lint But there is no l-e-n-t Lent is pagan it has to do with bail and if you read your history, Baal supposedly was gored in a hunting accident with a wild boar, and they prayed to the heathen gods for his recovery.
Some legends say that he died and they prayed and he was resurrected, but it always happens in the spring and these are 40 days of fasting and praying so that Baal might come back from the dead. Guess what? At the end of those 40 days, Baal comes back from the dead. It’s the counterfeit of the death and the barrel and the resurrection of Christ. Baal is the counterfeit of Christ, supposedly virgin-born to Simoramis, the wife of Nimrod, all the way back there in Genesis chapter 10 you can read about him.
And so there is no Lent. Lent is totally pagan and if you read the Roman Catholic Encyclopedia, it says Lent is a way of earning basically grace to help you get into heaven. So, the Catholics who will begin observing Lent today are earning their way to heaven by observing Lent. It’s a way that they can either have reduced days in purgatory or earn points toward getting into heaven. Lent is certainly not biblical. You will not be able to find the word Lent in your Bible.
And the doctrine of course is forbidden. In the Old Testament you will find that … There were those who worshipped and observed Lent on the Temple Mount, and God got so upset, he allowed Nebuchadnezzar to come and destroy the city of Jerusalem and the temple as a result. So obviously God was very upset and he tells us there in Ezekiel chapter 8 that he was so upset that he allowed Jerusalem and the temple to be destroyed because they committed these abominations on the temple mount.
So as far as God is concerned, this is the worship of Baal and Astroth. You know, if you read in the Old Testament, at the end of that 40 days, Astroth, that’s the mother of Baal. If you take the short form of that word, it’s Ash-tar. The English form is Easter. Easter is really the mother of Baal. And what happened to you in the 40 days that Easter celebrated the resurrection of her son, Baal, from the dead. And so I don’t celebrate Easter.
I celebrate the resurrection of Christ again from the dead. And I believe it’s important that people get rid of the E word and use the R word. So what do we call that Sunday? I call it resurrection Sunday. What do we call the candy? We might give to the children. We call it Resurrection Candy. What do we call the addresses that the ladies might wear that are special? We call them Resurrection Dresses and so on and so on. So obviously we don’t want to observe Easter, which is totally pagan.
And by the way, the Easter eggs and the Easter bunnies have nothing to do with Christ. have to do with sex and fertility. Easter was a sex goddess and the bunny rabbits speak about multiplication and sex and the eggs also talk about sex and fertility and so on has nothing to do with Jesus Christ and that’s sad. But Lent is a part of that. It’s the 40 days that preceded the supposed resurrection of I’m going to be eternally saved, not because I persevere, I’m eternally saved because my Savior perseveres forever because He is faithful, that promised salvation to me.
And certainly that’s the order and that’s what the Bible teaches, but that’s why I’m eternally saved because He is faithful. It says in verse 9 in chapter 1, God is faithful by whom you were invited into the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord. So when you trust Christ because He is faithful and will never break the promise that He made, that He promised to save you eternally. When you trust Him as your Savior, you can know that you are eternally saved.
But it is not dependent on upon my response. If I never hear the Calvary Community Church located in Tampa, Florida at 4811 George Road, and we’d love to have you come by and visit us sometime. We would love to have you come by during a worship service or come during the week and visit our resource center. All right, I think back if we had basically a technical difficulty, I think we’ve got it solved and we’re now live again. Again, we invite you to calls here at Bibleline.
A lot of our callers are seeing they’re waiting, wondering what’s going to go on. We’re about ready to really do the second half of Bible, I didn’t just a minute because we’re at that point in our schedule here. But I hope that you’re enjoying. We have our Resource Center open every day. We invite you to come by and visit that if you’re ever in the area from out of town. Or if you would like to come by on a worship day and visit us, we’d love to have you do that too.
We’re going to go down to David in Richmond, Virginia. He’s now not on the line. I guess he went away, but he’ll call back and we have other people calling in. We have Martha in Mulberry, Florida calls in and she says, how old was Esther when she became queen? And I don’t know that we can figure that out. I don’t know that the Bible tells us. But obviously Esther was a very beautiful woman. I’m assuming that she was youthful.
I don’t have an answer for you and I don’t know that there is an answer for that so we’re going to have to wait on that one. Let’s see what else we have here as we take a look at the Bible here. We have Off-Air Michelle in Bel Air Florida calling in and she says in Revelation 19, 8, what does the fine linen represent? I believe it refers to the righteousness of the saints. I think it’s the imputed righteousness myself.
The Bible talks about the righteousness of the unbeliever being as filthy rags in the Old Testament. And there are numerous verses that talk about that. But when you get saved, the Bible talks about a righteous garment which is a garment of salvation which is imputed or credited to the account of the believer. So when you become a believer, you are considered by God as righteous. And so it is my view that this is the righteousness that the saints have via the righteousness that Christ imputes to the believers account.
Let’s see here. Who else we have? We have Patty in Tampa, Florida. Please address the gay life style. Why is it wrong? And can you give scripture to back that up? And of course the answer is, it is wrong. And God never intended for Adam and Steve. He created Adam and Eve. And obviously he in the Old Testament forbids the homosexual relationship. If you go back to Leviticus, for example, and also in Deuteronomy, there are lots of verses that describe why it is wrong.
I’m going to try to turn to one of them here as we are going to probably have to do this right after the break because I think our break is coming up right now. But stay on their listening and we’ll try to get back to you with that verse in just one minute. Stay tuned. We’ll be right back. All right, I’m Dr. Hing Lindstrom and here we are coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church.
And we’ve had a few technical difficulties today. We can’t always explain that, but we’re so glad that you’re out there listening and we hope that you will continue to listen and we’ll try to work through those difficulties they happen every now and then hopefully you’ll be able to catch this program again and again on the internet and as we put our programs up everyday live as we go on the air here and you can listen to them at your leisure.
Not only that but our television programs are also there available for you and you can listen to those as well. And you can also, of course, catch our worship service on Sundays, and that’s available to you. Also, if you sign up for the course that I’m teaching, Jesus is coming, you can listen to that and watch it on the internet as well. That’s really a treat because it’s just as though you’re in the classroom, the quality is excellent. We have a wonderful resource center here at Bible and Headquarters and we have some excellent books and we have the Scofield Bible, the Old Edition, which is the one I recommend so highly.
We have that in Softback, Hardback Leather. We have it in large print and hardback in leather as well. So you can get a variety. If you go to your bookstore, you’re probably going to try to sell you the newer versions of the skill field which have been watered down and the notes have been changed. But I’d really truly recommend that you go and catch the old skill field which we have, of course, in our resource center. And that’s the only one that we offer.
That is the old skill field bible. And that’s available here in lots of different types. That’s the old Scofield in Softback, Hardback, Mother, and so on and so on. If you’d like, you’re welcome to call in and get a resource sheet and find out what that’s all about. And we hope that you’ll We continue to listen to Bibleline each and every day as we come to you live from our studios here in Tampa, Florida. If you haven’t given a gift to Bibleline, this is a good time to do that and we hope that you will do that.
Join us each and every day and tell your friends about the program, help us grow our audience. If you have questions, you’re welcome to call in and leave those questions off air or you can wait patiently online and hopefully we’ll get you up on the air so you can be live with us here at Bible and if you don’t have the Scofield Bible you might want to invest in it. That is a very powerful, powerful Bible. Also I have many CDs of my teachings on about 40 different topics, 10 hours to 12 hours of teaching.
I think you’ll enjoy those as you study the Bible and learn from us. We’re going to now go ahead and do the second half of Bibleline, and I hope you’ll keep you ready to tune right where it is. And it looks like we don’t have that opening bed music for some reason right now, and we have just had a couple of technical problems, but welcome to Bibleline. We’re coming to you live from our studios here in Tampa, Florida at the Calvary Community Church where I’m the pastor and we always invite folks to come by and see us and visit with us during the week and visit our resource center.
We also invite you to come by on a worship day and join us for worship here at Calvary Community Church. Of course, we welcome you to come and join our classes that we offer on Tuesday nights. This coming Tuesday will be the final two. If you want to come and sit in and see what it’s like to be in the class, I think everybody that is here at the class, in person, physically sitting here, really gets the most and they enjoy it thoroughly.
And if you’re able to come by and be a part of that, we would love to have you do that. So again, come by and check us out here at Bibleline and tell your friends about the program and if you ever get a chance to visit our resource center during the week or come by for worship service, you’re most welcome to do that. If you have a question, call us at 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. We had Patty in Tampa leave this all fair question about the game lifestyle.
Why is wrong and can I give scripture to back it up? Let me quote to you Leviticus 1822. It says, Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind, it is abomination. That’s about as clear as you’re going to ever get it. And there are numerous verses that say that. Here it also says in chapter 20 of Leviticus about homosexuality, if a man also lie with mankind as he laughs with a woman. Both of them have committed an abomination.
They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.” So here clearly in the Old Testament it was punishable by death that both the she and the he of the man with man relationship have committed an abomination the Bible says and they shall surely be put to death, their blood shall be upon them. So again I’ll read the verse Leviticus 20, verse 13, if a man also lie with mankind as he lieeth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination, they shall surely put the death, their blood shall be upon them.
Now can a person who has the gay lifestyle be saved? Yes, God so loved the world, including everybody, If they would only trust Jesus as their Savior, then of course God would save them. And of course then they should cease to practice homosexuality because that act is an abomination to the Lord. There are numerous verses old in New Testament, but those are some of the most powerful that you’ll find. And that’s Leviticus chapter 18, chapter 20, talks about all kinds of sexual entanglements that are obviously clearly wrong.
It says here, Richard in Tampa, Forty calls in with his offer of question, what are your thoughts on the event coming up with Lewis Palau? And I believe we answered this question the other day, but Lewis Palau does not have a clear gospel. He uses a lot of contemporary terms that I believe are wrong. So obviously I believe that if people get saved it will be in spite of the message given because from what I’ve read and heard and watched on the internet of others.
Presentations he gives they are works oriented and are really not the gospel. We have Fred in Plant City Florida and Fred welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yes. How you doing pastor? Good. I’ve got two questions and I’m gonna hang up on one for extra questions and listen to your answer. The first question is I want you to answer thoroughly. Christmas that origin just like you did Easter. And the second one is, obviously, something about there’s nowhere in the Bible that there’s women angels.
I want you to look at Zechariah chapter 5 verse 9. Give me your comments on that path. All right. We’ll do that, Fred. Thank you very much. Christmas is obviously, again, the pagan celebration of the birthday of Baal. The birthday of Christ was not celebrated in the Bible. It was not mentioned in the Bible. In fact, there’s no verse that tells us the exact day that Christ was born. But in the fourth century, Constantine declared the world to be Christian, and the pagan celebration of the birthday of Baal, all of a sudden, became renamed as the birthday of Christ, and that’s December 25th.
And the way it was celebrated was with cutting a tree out of the forest. If you read Jeremiah 10, that is clearly the way they would celebrate Bail’s birthday. They would cut a green tree in the winter time when all the other trees had shed their leaves as a symbol of his life-giving qualities. And they would nail that tree down in their home and decorate it with silver and gold. That custom of the tree is certainly pagan and is associated with Bail, not with Christ.
I believe Christ was born in October, probably on October 31st. If you go to the internet, you can listen to my message about the birth of Christ and I go through the scriptures that demonstrate that. I believe Satan has tried to take the glory of Christ’s birthday for himself and that’s why that’s become a day when Satan is glorified and celebrated and witches and goblins and so on. But I think the real day of Christ’s birthday is probably October 31st.
might sound really strange, but you can follow if you listen to that message I have on the internet sitting in the archives, or you can call our resource center and they’ll send you, you can order it, I think it’s $5 for a copy of that message on CD, it’s about an hour long going through the verses that hint as to when Christ was born and giving you calculations where you can calculate that. And so I hope you’ll take a look at those passages.
As far as angels not having wings, what you have there in Zechariah is a vision of the end times and we don’t have angels there. It is actually a vision here of these two women that carry this basket, which is, we believe, the corrupted gospel in all the world and the end times. And I think we already see that in a sense, but it’s certainly not talking about angels. Let me see here. It says here in verse 9 of Zechariah chapter 5, then I lifted up my eyes and looked and beholden came out two women and the wind was in their wings, for they had the wings like the wings of a stork.
Now the stork is an unclean bird and that speaks of evil or sin and notice two women and whenever women are associated in a religious sense with anything, it always has to do with false religion. You’ll find that the church in the book of Revelation that is the great whore, the world, the world church during the tribulation period is called the woman, the woman, the woman, the woman, the woman. So whenever you see women in spiritual context in the Bible.
It’s always talking about a false religious system. So here basically two women and they had the wings like the wings of a stork. That’s certainly not an angel but is a vision of this corruption of this church carried all over the world. There’s only one church in the world that exalts a woman to the very top, and you don’t see women exalted at all in Islam or Buddhism or the other religions of the world. But Roman Catholicism puts Mary right to the very top.
In fact, a few years ago, there was a petition. He said, I don’t know how many millions of people from 139 countries asking the Pope if they wouldn’t declare Mary as one of the Trinity would have make it the Holy Quartet rather than the Holy Trinity and that she’d be equal with the other members. Certainly the Roman Catholic Church teaches that she, Mary, that is, is the co-redemptress with Christ, which of course we believe is false. But no, that is not a reference that we could use to make it a place.
to support angels having wings. There are no angels with wings. Thank you, Fred, for calling in. We now have David in, let’s see here, David is in Richmond, Virginia, and David, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. I have to compensate hyper dispensationalism, and I will hang up and listen to your answer and thank you, sir. All right, you’re so welcome. Well, the classical dispensationalism is what I believe in Scofield. All ends very well that there have been different ages.
Certainly, there are three that are implied in the Book of Ephesians. Ephesians 3-2 talks about the dispensation of grace that began at Pentecost ends at the Rapture. The future dispensation that’s mentioned in Ephesians 1-11 is the dispensation of the fullness of times, and that is the millennium when the heavens will be merged with the people that are in their mortal bodies here on the earth and Christ will be ruling on the earth and will come back and rule and reign with him during that time.
And then of course preceding the dispensation of grace is the dispensation of law. Very clearly law began at Sinai and was interrupted by the rejection of Christ and the dispensation of law still has seven years to tick off the clock and that’s the tribulation period that we often refer to. So the tribulation period is ahead of us and that will be the darkest hours of human history but it will be under the dispensation of law. It will be the last seven years of the Old Testament.
As the Jews will be back in the land, they will rebuild the temple, they will be offering blood sacrifices again. There will be two Jewish prophets coming back, Moses and Elijah. We have 144,000 Jewish men getting saved, I think, through their evangelism. become God’s evangelist throughout the world and so on and so on. So we have obviously a Jewish time coming up here right after the Rapture and I think we can see that as we look out through the vision that we can have through the spectacles of the Bible as to what is happening.
The Jewish people are already back in the land and anticipation of that. And excuse me, Dr. Schofield gives us seven dispensations, some are very short, like the time in the garden called the dispensation of innocence and so on, right on down through time. And the last one being this dispensation I just mentioned, the dispensation of fullness of time. Now, hyper-dismasationalism fragments the Bible into many parts that really are imaginary or not there. For example, there is a number of people who believe that from Peter to Paul was a dispensation by itself.
And where they go wrong is that they try to say that Peter’s message didn’t agree with Paul’s message and that Peter preached a different plan of salvation. Well, that’s nonsense.Officers, no one has ever taught a different plan of salvation. who’s ever been saved has been saved by the blood of Christ alone. And Peter, of all people, makes that very clear. He tells us in Acts chapter 10 and verse 43, which is a favor to mine, he says there to Yeshua, or Jesus, that through his name, that is the the name of Jesus or Yeshua, that whosoever believeth in Him, that is Jesus, shall receive the remission of their sins.
So we finally make it very clear that through the name of Jesus that everybody who has ever been saved has been saved. They are saved by faith alone in Christ alone. So hyper-dispensationism is wrong. Now if you go to my website, we have some online books on my website. If you look for that on the home page and we have two, they’re kind of interesting. One is called Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth by Dr. C.I. Schofield. And there you’ll find The seven dispensations that I alluded to mention there.
And then we have another book written by Harry Ironside called Wrongly Dividing the Order of Truth. So if you’re interested in hyper dispensationalism, it’s in that book by Dr. Harry Ironside, who passed through the Moody Memorial Church in Chicago for 18 years after Dale Moody had passed away and a great Bible teacher and he wrote one that really does expose it and names it as being a heresy and you might want to check that out on my website, BibleLineMinistries.org or .com.
Thank you for your call. We appreciate that. We have Madeleine in Bradenton, Florida. Madeleine, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Hi, Peter. I’m telling you. So is some. So is something. I have a question about giving money to a particular group and I had pledged I would give something to buy the Bible. It’s called the Bible League and I didn’t know whether maybe I should give to my wife. I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of it or…
I have a nut real for me. It’s depending on what they send out. I always like to give to the ministry that’s closest biblically to the truth of the Bible. of you can get some of their tracks or literature that they have and see where they’re coming from and what they’re doing then you can make it an intelligent choice. But obviously we need to be giving where the gospel is given out and where the Word of God is doctrinally sound.
So you might want to check that out. I’m not really familiar with their belief system. Sometimes you can do that on the internet. go to their website usually most organizations have a doctor the statement that you can take a look at and there you can kind of ask yourself are they sound or does this sound like they’re a little bit wacky. Thank you. You’re welcome. Thank you Madelyn for calling into the Bible and today and certainly that’s the way you need to find a church also.
It’s the fine one that’s doctorally sound that believes the Bible. We have off here a caller from Chattanooga Tennessee I don’t have the name on that person and the person male or female I don’t know says when Jesus breathed on his disciples the Holy Spirit why did he do it again the day of Pentecost well up until Pentecost we’re still under the age of law and in the Old Testament the Holy Spirit would come and go so he empowered them with the Holy Spirit for those forty days after his resurrection until he ascends to heaven and then apparently the Holy Spirit left them as he would in Old Testament times.
And for the next 10 days they did not have the Holy Spirit, but then at Pentecost the Holy Spirit came to permanently. That’s the key word permanently involved the believer. And Christ had spoken about that in John 14, John 16, and they anticipated that, but it hadn’t happened yet. So to enable them to digest all that he wanted to teach them after the resurrection during those 40 days, he gave them the Holy Spirit and it was a temporary indwelling.
And then when the 40 days were up I believe the Holy Spirit left them, but then came permanently upon the believers of this age, every one of us, anyone that believes in Christ and trusts Christ as Savior receives the Holy Spirit in this age. In Romans 8 and 9 it says, If you have not the Holy Spirit of Christ, then you are none of his. So you’re not saved unless you have the Holy Spirit. Thank you for I call from Chattanooga, Tennessee and give us a call from up there in Chattanooga.
I think we probably have some new listeners and we’d love to hear from you. Sharon in Stuyveson, New York calls in and she says, where, Biblically, a child would be left behind at the time of the rapture to find themselves? Well, I don’t know of a scripture, so I can’t show you one. I wish I could show you one that would be definitive on that. So we’ll have to wait and see. But I certainly view the fact that the Rapture is an evacuation of believers.
Life continues on as though nothing had happened. Although, I think this will be something that will cause a lot of probably accidents if If a person is driving in a car at the Rapture and they’re a believer, the car will be unmanned and will probably crash. And who knows it might crash into another car. And there might be injuries. I don’t know. Planes might crash. Trains might crash. And numerous other things might be caused because somebody who is responsible behind the wheel.
In the cockpit of an airplane flying that plane might disappear as a Christian and the plane may then crash and people might die. But we’ll have to wait and see. Sharon, I wish that all children would be right with us, but I really feel like only believers are going. And if God were to take children, he would take all children off the earth. He’s not a respected person. So he would take children of the unsaved as well as the same.
And obviously there will be a whole generation taken away. Whereas the Bible talks about the tribulation period continues on. People will marry and be given marriage and not have children. And they’ll buy and they’ll sell and they’ll eat and they’ll drink. And life will continue on right after the rapture. So I don’t think that the children are going to be raptured out. Those, who are the age of accountability, not if they’ve become of age to trust Christ, then I believe that they will.
We’re going to go to the phone lines again. We have Paul in Richmond, Virginia, and Paul, welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Air. Hey, how you doing? Good, Paul. Listen, I just want you to talk about how faith in the Old Testament. I can do that. They were saved by trusting in Christ that he would come future to pay for sin. Abraham believed the promise of the coming Christ and as a result he was saved in Genesis 15 verse 6.
This is Abraham believed God and it was counted to him for righteousness. So Abraham believed. Jesus in John chapter 8 tells us that he appeared to Abraham and Abraham saw him and rejoiced to see him. So that’s pretty clear. And we have in Galatians 3 8 it says, and the scripture referring to the Old Testament foreseeing that God would justify the nations through faith preached before the Bible says the gospel and Abraham. of Abraham got the message. But I think Peter gives us one of the greatest verses in Acts chapter 10.
And let me just read this slowly. Acts 10, 43, write this one down. It says to him that is Jesus, give all the prophets witness that through his name, that’s all the prophets mean all the Old Testament writers who gave us the Old Testament, that they gave witness that through his name. So that’s talking about the name of Jesus. Of course, in the Hebrew it is Yeshua. In English it is spelled Jesus. And so it’s saying here through Yeshua.
By the way, that occurs over 130 times throughout the Old Testament. So Jesus is clearly there. Then it says, then, that whosoever believeth in him by name shall receive remission of sins. We have that very clearly in the Bible. You have in Genesis 22 Abraham actually enacting out the gospel and Abraham takes his own son a picture of Christ and takes him to Moriah, the mountain which is what Jerusalem is built on. Where was Christ crucified on Mount Moriah?
So here he acts out the crucifixion and you have the three days, you have the death, the barrel, the resurrection of Christ pictured and it’s right there in the book of Genesis, Abraham actually enacted out the gospel. Very clear. Jonah was a picture of Christ and the death barrel in resurrection. Jonah died in the Phishes Valley, went down into paradise in the heart of the earth for for three days and three nights, and then he came back and was resurrected from the dead and then went on his journey to preach at Nineveh.
In order for those people on the ship that he was on to be saved, he had to be cast overboard and died. So Jonah gave his life so the people on board the ship could be saved. It’s a picture of Christ dying for the sins of the world. also was buried three days and three nights and his body lay in the tomb but he went that into the heart of the earth where he told the dying thief today that should be with me in paradise and after three days he rose again from the dead he emptied paradise out took it up to heaven and now the believers of the Old Testament are with the Lord in heaven so hopefully that helps a little bit Thank you again for that question.
I believe that we are coming to the end of the hour here. Thank you for listening today. If you haven’t trusted Jesus as your Savior, you need to just say, Lord, I’m a sinner. I don’t understand a whole lot. But I believe Jesus Christ died on the cross and paid for my sins was buried and rose again from the dead. And I trust him right now as my Savior. that he died and paid for my sins by his death on the cross.
And the moment you do that, you’ve got to have a nose, and he’s the one that saves you. And he saves you eternally from that moment on. I hope that you have done that. I hope you’ve trusted Christ as your Savior and are assured of going to heaven.
