BibleLineMinistries.org or .com. BibleLineMinistries.org or .com. Please take advantage of that. We have an online bookstore and we’ve got some new things.

I just got a few copies of this wonderful book called the Exodus case. It actually has photographs in there of the chariot wheels on the bottom of the Red Sea. And real interesting pictures and it’s like a National Geographic. It’s very heavy because it’s printed on very good quality paper, excellent pictures, telling the whole story and showing the route and a lot of scientific explanation of what happened as God opened the sea and drowned the Egyptian army and the parent remains of their chariots or right on the bottom of the Red Sea.

This book is a high quality, it is expensive, but if you want to give a donation to Bible $50 will send it out to you and I think you’ll really enjoy that. Plus we have numerous other wonderful books that are available. We have the book None of these Diseases which over a million copies have been sold not by us but it has well it the claim is that the Bible predates modern science by 3000 years. The Bible talks about following the rules that God gave and living longer lives.

And this book really documents the medical part of that and how the Bible is been way ahead of medical science and science for thousands of years. The title, None of these Diseases, comes right out of the Book of Exodus where God said he would put none of these diseases that had been upon the Egyptians upon Israel if they would only follow his rules. That’s a great book. And we’ve got The book on evangelism is called Handbook to Personal Vensism.

We have it in Spanish and English and we certainly hope that you’ll take advantage of these different books that we have in our resource center. We’re going to go to the Bible for a little bit and then we’re going to take our collars. We have lots of all fair questions. We’ll try to take those today as well, and I hope that you are there with your Bible open. And we’re going to take a look at Romans chapter 11 verse 6.

A lot of people don’t realize that if you add anything to what Christ did or take away that all of a sudden you violated the plan of salvation and therefore you will not be saved. We are saved by Christ alone, by faith alone, to what Christ accomplished for us at the cross. And the Bible tells us we are saved by grace. And grace means mercy, unmerited favor. And the Bible tells us that grace really by definition is the absence of any human work.

The Bible says in Romans 11, 6, what a great verse it is, if by grace, then it is no more of works. Otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace. Otherwise work is no more work. What did it just say? It said, basically grace and works are opposites. And if you attempt to be saved by any work, then you will not be saved because you will not have any grace or any mercy.

You don’t want to stand before God without His mercy. If you and I got what we deserved, we would all go to hell. That’s right. The Bible says we’re all sinners, we’re all condemned, we’re all headed for hell. And basically our purpose here on this earth is to share this great gospel. This is the great commission. You know, somebody once said, and I’ve never forgotten that, he said, God did not leave us here on the earth to make this world a better place to go to hell from.

I think a lot of Christianity is attempting to try to make the world a better place. And we’re never told to do that. Now, I think our presence and our influence does help to make our world a better place, but that’s not our purpose. This is a perishing planet. Everybody on this planet will wind up going to hell. Our purpose is to rescue those that have not trusted Christ from perishing. It not only tells us that Christ is sent to seek and to save that which was lost, that And as the reason why Christ came into this world, God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that’s why Christ came, that whosoever that would believe in Him would not perish but have everlasting life, John 3.16.

And so the reason why we’re left here as believers is to share that goodness with others and rescue them. It tells us in John’s Gospel that even as God the Father sent Christ, Christ says even so send I you. So we’re sent with that very same purpose that Christ had and that is to reach a lost in dying world with the Gospel of Christ. Where is your focus? Think about that statement again. I will repeat it one more time.

did not leave us here on the planet to make this world a better place to go to hell from. In other words, everybody on this planet without Christ is going to go to hell. And if you make it a better place and they don’t trust Christ, well they just leap off a better platform into the eternal lake of fire. The Bible teaches us we need to be saved and the Bible says that there is no one that can enter heaven apart from Christ.

And Romans 11.6 says, If by grace which means mercy, then it is no more of works. Otherwise grace is in grace. In other words, the definition of grace excludes works and as soon as you add any works to grace, you no longer have any grace. It reminds me of that story of the lady that went to the photographer. She had her pictures taken. She got the proofs back. She was irate. She was upset. She went back to the photographer through the proof back down on his desk and she said, these proofs don’t do me justice.

She was just weaming the photographer out. And the photographer said, lady, you don’t need justice. You need mercy. Well, you know, that’s really true of all of us. If we got justice, then we would never make heaven. What we need is God’s grace is mercy. And that is offered through faith in Jesus Christ. In Ephesians 2, 8, Ephesians chapter 2 verse 8, it says, 4 by grace, you have been saved through faith in Jesus Christ. You see, once you trust Christ, then God’s grace becomes available to you.

But if you’re attempting to add any work to that, you will have no grace. Romans 11, 6, the second half of the verse says, and if it may have works, then it is no more of grace. Otherwise, work is no longer work. So basically, if you add any work, the Bible says you’ll have no grace. If I were to offer you a glass of pure water, you would not hesitate to take that water and drink it down. But if I were to take one drop of poison and put it into that glass of water, you would hesitate and you’d back off and you wouldn’t want to take it.

Why? Because that one drop of poison, we’d contaminate the whole glass and you’d have a glass of poison. And you know, the same thing is true. God offers His grace and you contaminate it with one human work, with one thing that maybe you would do. Well guess what? The Bible says you no longer have grace. You’ve poisoned the whole glass of grace and now it is poisoned and it will not save you. It loses its power to save once you add any work to it.

Now certainly the Bible teaches that after we become saved we ought to work and we ought to live for Christ and lead others to Christ. But we don’t do that in order to be saved. And I’m saying this and making this a point because most people I talk to will say in one breath, yes they believe in Jesus Christ. But, but, but you got to go to church. You got to keep your commandments. You’ve got to live the Christian life, you’ve got to be baptized, you’ve got to be confirmed, don’t you, to be saved?

And the answer is if you add any of those things to God’s grace, you will not be saved because it’s by grace and the absence of any works. Ephesians 2.8 goes on to say, this salvation is not of yourself. It is the gift of God, if he is too nines us, not of works, not of works, not of works. Does any man should boast or brag? Does that say it anywhere else? Well it certainly does. It says in Romans chapter 9 verse 11 that God’s purpose, according to election, this is how God would elect to save people, it would be not of works, this is Romans 9-11, not of works but simply rather of him that call it.

In other words God invites people to be saved by trusting Christ as Savior that he died and shed his blood across in order to purchase their salvation. And it very clearly points out that this salvation God’s purpose in how he elects people to be saved is not based upon works at all, but it’s based upon simply God’s invitation inviting you to be saved. Let me go to Romans chapter 3 verse 28 where You have the conclusion of the first three chapters of Romans and it says, therefore we conclude Romans 3 28.

Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without without without without without it says without the needs of the law. Romans 3 28. What a great verse that one is. It says we’re saved by faith and not by works. It says we’re justified by faith without without the needs of the law. You have to come like the dying thief came to Christ. He was dying. He was being crucified. His life was about over and yet he looks to Christ and says, Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom.

He obviously believed that Christ was dying to pay for sin, that Christ would die and then rise again from the dead and have an eternal kingdom and he said, remember me. When you come into that kingdom, Christ said to him, today thou shall be with me in paradise. He didn’t come claiming that he did anything worthy of salvation. He simply trusted in Christ as his Savior. Just like the hymn writer got it right when he said, Just as I am I come, without one plea, but that thy blood was shed for me.

That’s the way we have to come and unless you come in that way you’ll not be saved. Just as I am I come without one plea, but that thy blood was shed for me. We come just like we are. We come as sinners, lost, condemned, headed for hell, and simply trust Christ and God saves us. How wonderful that is. I hope you’ve trusted Jesus as your Savior. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom and this is Bibleline and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida And we’re now going to go to the phone lines.

That phone number is 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. And we invite you to give us a call and we’ll get your question answered on the air. We have a lot of all-fares, so I’m going to first go to some of these. We have Bill in Venice, Florida, calling and leaving this software question. There is to be a mandatory National ID card to go into effect soon. Will you, Dr. Lynch, to be opposed to getting this card? Is it a precursor to the mark?

I think it is. I think we’re really headed fast toward marking everyone with a number. And of course, this is not the mark because the mark really won’t be given out until dead center in the middle of the seven years of tribulation, right square in the middle, Revelation 13 describes this mark that the false prophet will really cause to be placed into effect. And without that mark, you will not be able to buy or sell. And it is a number, apparently, according to Revelation 13.

And obviously, we’re moving there right now. The credit card, obviously, has been a prelude to that. You can buy with a number right now at the gas pump, at the grocery store, at the supermarket, at the department store, wherever you go. You can use that number and not use any cash. And we’re going to be moving more and more toward that. And I think this National Identity Card is a part of that. I’m not going to worry about it this side of the Rapture, because we’re leaving it the Rapture period.

But after the Rapture, during the Tribulation period, the Antichrist will control people by this National Identity Card. I definitely don’t think we can stop it. And we don’t have to worry about it this side of the Rapture. But after in the Tribulation period, the believers are told not to take that mark we’re going to line number one here and talk to show on implant city and i saw a mocha mocha and i want you on the air hi doctor hang i’d have a quick question and this goes back to high school when i was younger i thought i’d always heard that it’s a golden temple mosque that at the top of it there was something relating to that all of the only god is very thing that you know about that Not as far as in the mosque, but it certainly could be.

But definitely Islam teaches that Allah is the only God, and of course they’re wrong. Allah is the moon God, and that’s why you see the crescent moon on everything they have. And that’s who they pray to. When you see the minarets, even in Tampa here, at the University of Tampa, you see those minarets or prayer towers, at the top there’s a crescent moon always because they pray to the moon God. and that’s why you have the moon at the top.

Obviously these people are misled and the Bible forbids long before Mohammed ever came along. He came along in the sixth century, 80, and the Bible all the way back into the book of Genesis forbids the worship of the sun, the moon, the stars. Those are God’s creation and they are not God’s and they are not to be worshiped and yet people down through the centuries have departed from God’s Word and have worshiped the things God has created and Allah, the moon God, is one of God’s creation and is not God and is not to be worshipped.

But I don’t know and I’m going to Israel next week. I’ll try to ask that question when I get there. So thank you very much for calling in Sean from Plant City, Florida. We have Jordi from Denver and I believe we answered this twice already so I think we can get rid of that question. We’re going to go now to Janet in Boston, Massachusetts, calling in. Why don’t we see more pastors delivering the message of the true meaning of the word repent?

You know, that is a good question. But it’s because they’re not going to the original word. If you look up repent in the English dictionary, it will say turn from sin or sorrow for sin. The Greek word was poorly translated into English, and the English word repent does not mean the same thing as the Greek word metanoia. It’d be wonderful if they had never translated it, but just left the Greek word in our Bible. Preachers would be saying metanoia!

Metanoia! Metanoia! But at least we’d look it up and find out what the real meaning is, and metanoia means a change of mind. Meta, N-E-T-A means change, N-O-I-A means mind, the two together mean a change of mind, and that’s the way it is used throughout the Bible. You know, in the Old Testament, what is so amazing, the word for repent is a Hebrew word that’s used 43 times, 37 of those 43 times, it is God who repents. Isn’t that amazing?

Now think about it, if you have the definition in your head that repent means to turn from your sin, you’ve got a very serious theological problem. You’ve got a holy God who’s not capable of sinning, turning from his sin left and right throughout the Old Testament. Repent, repent, repent, repent. It’s God who repents. Only six times does in the Old Testament the word repent refer to men changing their mind. It’s God who repents. And if it means turn from sin and you’ve got a Holy God turning from the sin.

The math is like this. 37 out of the 43 times it is God who repents. That is if you divide 86% of the time the word repent is used in the Old Testament. It’s God who does the repenting. So if it means the turn from sin, God is the one who is turning from his sin in the Old Testament. What is amazing in the New Testament, the same thing the Greek word is methanoya, change A change of mind. Preachers will say, Repent, Turn from your sin.

Well guess what? There’s nowhere in the Bible that the phrase, let me quote now. does not even occur in the Bible once. Let me say that again. Repentance is taught in the Bible, but the phrase, repent of sin, quote, repent of sin, unquote, that phrase, repent of sin, does not even occur in the Bible once. I was so surprised because I heard that so used so often by preachers that I thought it was on every page of the Bible.

I’m amazed at how Now we get bad teaching and repent of sin doesn’t occur. And when preachers define that, when they preach and say repent of sin, they say turn from your sin. And at the same time, have you noticed, have you noticed this, they’ll oftentimes have the church choir or the crusade choir sing just as I am, I come. It seems like such a contradiction, doesn’t anybody see it? I saw it as a brand new believer and I said, this is crazy.

How can this be? The preacher saying, turn from sin and then the choir sings, no, don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t listen to him. Just as I am, I come without one plea that, but that thy blood was shed for me. So the choir saying, don’t believe the preacher, you just come as you are. And then the preacher comes right back and says, no, don’t listen to the choir. You have to turn from your sin. And the choir comes back with another stand of, just as I am, I come.

Oh my goodness. If you had to turn from your sin to be saved, the choir ought to seem, it seems to me, sing the same theme. I could even write it for them if we needed to, but obviously it’s wrong to say you have to turn from sin. That would be works for salvation. That would be something of self. The Bible says salvation is none of yourself. It would be a human work. The Bible says we come as we are, then God gives us the power of the Holy Spirit to be able to have victory over sin in our life and it comes after we become saved.

I had a lady that came to my church and she said, Pastor, I’m going to help. I said, why? She says, I smoke. And I said, why is that? She said, I can’t stop smoking. I’ve been told that this is a sin and I’m the turn for my sin and I’ve tried for years and years to get rid of this habit of smoking. I wish I could. And I said, well guess what? I have good news for you. You’re not going to go to hell because you smoke.

And I said, by the way, people in hell smoke, but they don’t go to hell because they smoke. I hope you got what I meant. In any case, I said, the word repent means to change your mind. You need to simply trust Christ the Savior. It never tells you to turn from sin to be same. She trusted Christ. Three weeks later she came back to me and she said, guess what pastor? I said, what? She said, I don’t smoke anymore.

I said, what? She said, I don’t have any desire to. God has given me victory over it. And prior to her salvation, she tried for years to get rid of her habit of smoking. But once she got saved, she had the power of the Holy Spirit to be able to have victory over that sin. It’s not turning from sin that saves. It’s trusting Christ that saves. And then He gives us the Holy Spirit to give us power to have victory over sin in our life once we are saved.

We have 10 in the Church. Keter Illinois and welcome to Bibleline. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Anyway, the guy that called in about that dome of the rock and that business about the writing, there’s writing up on there. You know, I learn amazing things. Listen to people like you and Allen, and these stuff like that. Up on top of the dome of the rock, there’s some Arabic written, and what it says that there is God has no son. You can check that out, I guess, when you’re over there.

I definitely will, yeah. Yeah. I’m sure. He follows that stuff pretty close. And one other question for you Dr. Hank, Simon the Saucer was, it says up in Acts chapter 8 verse 13 and Simon the Saucer believed, okay, and he followed along with Peter and I mean with Philip and them and then on down, then he tried to, he’s seen them lay on hands and people received the baptism of Holy Spirit through I’m gonna have I’m going to help.

Yeah, I’m standing. OK. I’m just taking out of this world. We have to go to break and we’ll come back and we’ll deal with Simon, the sorcerer. Don’t go away. Thank you. Thank you. Call that 1-800 number and you’ll be able to find out how you might do that.

You can even set it up where it would automatically come out every month out of your credit card account and however you want to do that, but that would be really helpful to us here at Bible on. We have Ken, he’s continuing to hold up in Decatur, Illinois, and he mentioned, apparently from Helensi, that the writing on the top of the Dome of the Rock in Israel on the Temple Mount says that Allah has no Son. Well, of course, that is true.

Only the true living God, Yahweh or Jehovah has a son that came and died who is Christ, did God in flesh to pay for our sins and of course Islam directly attacks the gospel of Jesus Christ. Ken we’re back to you. Yes sir, sir. Yes. From what I read about him. He was never a believer. He says he believed, but what did he believe? He believed Simon. And in other words, not Simon, I mean Philip. He actually was a sorcerer and a miracle worker, but he found that Philip had greater powers and did greater miracles than he could ever imagine.

And so he believed that he was a great miracle worker. Nowhere does it say he believed in Christ. It says the people at Samaria, they believed Philip, but they didn’t believe on Christ. I think that’s evident because when Peter and John get there they inquire and they find out they don’t have the Holy Spirit. And if you don’t have the Holy Spirit, you’re not saved. Romans 8 and 9 says, if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

And then we find that Simon simply through his eyes in verse 18 saw and misinterpreted what he saw and thought he could buy this power to give people the Holy Spirit. And Peter says in verse 20 that I money perish with me because thou hast thought. So his thinking was wrong. And he thought that the gift of God which is the Holy Spirit of Salvation might be purchased with money. But then verse 21 Peter clearly tells us that Simon was never saved.

It says thou have neither part nor lot in this matter. The word would matter there is the Greek word Lagos which is the name for Christ used in John’s Gospel where it says in the beginning was the word or in the beginning was the Lagos. And the Lagos was with God and the Lagos was God. And the Lagos verse 14 of John 1 became flesh and dwelt among us. And so Simon never had any part or lot in this Lagos, just Jesus.

And Peter’s telling him he needed to repent or change his mind about who Christ is and then he would be saved. So Simon was never saved. Okay, then then on in verse 13 and it also says that’s right. I think you’re excited. Describe it pretty well. Okay. Hey, thank you, Dr. Ague. I appreciate it. All right, Ken in the cater Illinois calling in and now we’re going to go to Robert in St. Petersburg. Robert, welcome to Bibleline. Yes, I have a disagreement with you.

You may not be major, but a lot of people want to call up and they go. But this person I know, he’s standing knowingly and willfully. And then you are, well, there’s no apparent judgment by God on him. They’re probably not safe. Well, my point is, is apparent to who? There’s many dimensions to the way a guy could punish someone. that’s not that mean more much more than let’s say something that would be apparent like his car just went bad or you know some of those you know it could be anything again many dimensions and I do appreciate your eternal security that you talk about all the time I don’t believe you know I don’t believe you can lose it then to borrow it break it shake it or anything but I don’t believe it’s I do believe it’s important for other people other Christians to counsel

other people and their difficulty but not to counsel them in a way that we question their salvation just because there’s a they’re not being punished in a way that’s apparent to that other person. I would I would wholeheartedly agree with you. God got my attention when I was in college and nobody else would have known but he would he really got to my heart to my soul and brought me to my knees where I dedicated my life to Christ and nobody else would have known that and and I think you’re absolutely right.

So on the outward appearance, nobody would ever know that anything was going on between God and me. I was a secret believer at that time and then I dedicated my life and then I began to witness and live for Christ and have ever since. But you’re absolutely right. You know, I thank you. And did you know I firstly considered and have a million dollars and then just come into a bunch of money and be backslidden. still be punished by God because the person that’s looking on this other person that just got all his money, that’s saying, well, see, that’s proof he’s not a Christian.

Not only is he rich, that’s proof. Some people think that right there. Then they’ll think, well, he can’t be punished by God. He just got this much money over here, stock market. I said, wait a minute, there’s many more things that turn a person, Frank. I mean, you turn, make a person happy to just, well, it could be a love relationship gone bad or something. There’s so many things and a lot of people who don’t have you hear this one of the church It’s my mate another point.

I’m on the make on the same subject is In first Timothy 5 8 the person who doesn’t take care of their children Worse than infidels and I’ve been to churches where there’s preachers that they got They’re not only having affairs. They’re having they have children. They’re not even taking care of the ministry I’m just saying that my experience with that is common and they’re just up there preaching all preaching down and those are not given enough for their facts, and their lives are high up with the people that he’s criticized and they’re given.

There’s nothing apparently going on with them. Now that’s not me saying they’re unsafe. I’m not going to judge them by the way they would judge me. There’s a lot of things, there’s a lot of dimensions to what makes of a person way of God, punish a person. Exactly, and we don’t really know all the facts ever, ever, because only God truly knows everything that goes on nothing escapes his site and uh… and we have to just trusted that’s going to take care of business with us as he promises in his work you say uh…

not you this is something i heard of some family post john telling god to go to remain It’s a clean, give him a bunch of this, give him a bunch of that. He gives him punishment, however God sees that this guy will be reconciled, or this guy will be dealt with. It’s not necessary. It’s a blessing to this person, but blessing doesn’t just mean showered with good things. It may be a good thing, as far as being punished, as far as that guy goes.

well i get angry with it robert and thank you for sharing all right thank you all right on no doubt. Our perception of things is not the same as what’s really taking place. We have Michael in Tampa, Florida here at McDill Air Force Base. Michael, welcome to Bibleline here on the air. Hey, Dr. Hank, I just had a question. I’ve been studying in the Old Testament and I was trying to make some sense out of the side. If I know that so many times in the Old Testament, God said to keep the side of the Holy, and we noted that from what I’ve heard, it was a very good idea.

it was Friday’s time down or 6 o’clock or Sunday’s at the clock. I wonder how we get to Sunday services that we normally hold mostly in the mouth or in the Christian church. You can have me on the other list on the radio if you would. You’re on my worship on Sunday? Right. Okay. Well, I think you and we’ll try to do that. What happened was that Christ came back from the dead on the first day of the week.

Then the next major appearance was on the 8th day, which was the first day of the week. Pentecost, when this church age began, was on a Sunday, 50 days after the resurrection. The resurrection was on a Sunday, so you go to 7 weeks and one more day. It’s Sunday that Pentecost occurred. You read in the book of Acts, and you read in the Pauline Epistles at the early Christians He’s been on the first day of the week. So basically Christ established the worship day as a commemoration of His resurrection every time we meet on the first day of the week we were remembering that Christ rose on the first day of the week.

And that is obviously the Christian day of worship. It’s not the Sabbath, the Sabbath is Saturday and the Jews still observe their Sabbath but We as believers commemorate Christ’s resurrection every time we meet on the first day of the week. So Christ established that. It started from the beginning. When he came back from the dead, it was on the first day of the week. I hope that helps. And thank you for that call. We have Ridge in Largo, Florida.

And welcome to Bibleline. Hello, Pastor Hank. Yes, sir. Yeah, look, I’ve got a quick question that I’ll hang up on this for the answer. In Deuteronomy, God through Moses called Israel the apple of his eye. What is the apple of the eye? And why did he call it Israel? Is apple of the eye? I’ll wait for the answer. Thank you. It means that they were special. They were special as God really didn’t choose the nation, but he chose Abraham.

He said, I’m going to make you a blessing and I’m going to bless all of your descendants. that bless you will be blessed and those that curse you will be cursed. And Israel has obviously done a lot wrong and God has had to chase in them and God said he would deal with them as with a son. And so he didn’t cast them out or lose them but he did chase in them. And obviously the Jewish people have gone through some really tough times.

And the reason why is because they have broken his commandments and they have not kept his Word. If you read back in the Old Testament, Leviticus chapter 26 in particular, it talks about the blessing and the curse. God told them very plainly that if they would keep his word, that he would bless them and if they would not keep his word, then he would bring a curse upon them. In Israel, we find that when they came into the Promised Land, There are two mountains and I’ve been there numerous times.

One is Mount Garesom and it’s green and beautiful all year long. The mountain across the valley on the other side is Mount Ebel. And Mount Ebel is bald, some like Stone Mountain in Georgia outside of Atlanta. And nothing is growing on that mountain, it’s just absolutely bald. And there the Word of God from Moses was read to the people. And as they faced the Mount Gerasim, they read the blessings that would come if he would only obey his word.

But then they turned and faced Mount Ebel and said, this is what it’s going to be like for you. If you don’t keep his word, you’ll be stripped of all blessings and you’ll be cursed as Mount Ebel is apparently a picture of a curse. So that’s basically what it’s all about. about people that would be God’s witnesses to his faithfulness, to his word, and he certainly kept his word with Israel. And they would bring about the Messiah Jesus Christ took on Jewish flesh out of the tribe of Judah.

And we find also they would be blessing to all the world in giving us the scriptures as all the Olden New Testaments are given to us by Jewish prophets and Jewish apostles. So hopefully, Ridsett will help you. We have Nellie in Mechanicsville, I’m doing fine. How are you doing today? Well, I’ve got problems but I’m doing okay. I need one question. Can you lose your salvation? No ma’am, that’s impossible. And that’s because God is the one who keeps you safe.

Yeah. And he can’t lose you. He promises he won’t. John 639, you need to write it down. and you write John what six thirty nine okay jesus says this is the father’s will that of all which you have given me I should lose none yeah well I didn’t reason I’m questioning you know I’ve heard some of the past the sale preachers say that you know you can lose it because if you go out there and you accept the Christ and just keep on sending you know you could lose it and I didn’t understand That’s wrong.

And basically what they’re saying without saying it directly is that your salvation has been dependent upon how you live your life. And that’s works. And that’s totally wrong. We’re not saved by what we do. If we could have been, then Christ could have stayed in heaven and never come and died on the cross. Jesus died because we couldn’t save ourselves. And when we trust Him, He’s the one that saves us. Well, I guess I’m saying to three and I’m trying to really get into my study and I’ve I just heard one say this morning that you could lose your salvation.

Could I ask you one more question? I don’t know if you want to remark on it. Do you think that Pastor Hagie is a good preacher? He’s got a lot of great speaking skills and everything else, but he believes you can lose your salvation. So no, I would not recommend you listen to Hagie. Okay. Well, see, I need to know because you don’t have very few on there that you feel safe listening to. That’s true. I have a time getting you.

I think sometimes somebody puts a thing that won’t leave you here. I have such a time finding your channel. Okay, one more thing before I go off, would you mind switching me to someone I would like to get a couple of your books, especially the one on speaking in tongues. Did you say, making that one day you had our article on that? I sure do. We have a CD on that and we have a DVD on that. Yeah, that’s what I would like to DVD, but I didn’t know where I wrote, you know, to get that.

Alrighty. We’ll do that right now, Nelly. Thank you for calling in today. And I just put you over to my operator. He will be able to take care of you. We have a number of offer questions. I’m trying to get to them. So I’m going to try to catch some of these. I have Elaine calling in from Houston, Texas, and leaving an off-air question, Elaine, and I hope you’re listening. Is there sin and gross sin, if so, isn’t this creating a type of caste system in the body of Christ?

Well, believe it or not, the grossest sins are those that are of a spiritual nature, and the Bible warns us as Christian about that. It says in 2 Corinthians 11 that God wants us to be as His bride chaste virgins. He wants us to remain pure. What he focuses on there, more than physical types of sins, he warns us about committing spiritual adultery where we go off away from God’s Word and and really maybe even not even knowingly or consciously have intercourse with other gods or with other forms of worship.

We need to be very careful that we stay true to the Bible. And it says in 2nd Corinthians 11, 3 that he says, I’m concerned about you, that Satan as by any means at his disposal might seduce you just like he seduced Eve back in the garden. So he warns us that we might depart away from the simplicity that is in Christ. The message of salvation is quite simple. And you know, Satan likes to add to it and complicate it, and that’s exactly what happens today.

And that’s what we were talking about at the beginning of of our program today about grace if you add any works is no longer grace. And if you try to be saved by any work in addition to faith in Christ, you’ll not be saved at all because you’ll have no grace, you’ll have no mercy because we’re saved by what Christ did for you and for me. And we are so excited about… The Bible is plain about that and clear.

Sometimes the sins that we might think are the grossest are really not because the spiritual sins are the greatest consequence. Obviously, the sin that causes a person to go to hell is the sin of unbelief. Nobody goes to hell because they lied or because they stole or because they committed murder. The reason why is because Jesus paid for every one of those sins that you and I might commit. that there is no sin that Christ did not pay for.

But the only sin that you are going to be held accountable for, the Bible says, is the sin of rejection of Christ because He is the only means by which you could be saved. And if you reject Him, then you will be not pardoned, but you will be cast into the eternal leg of fire. So obviously the grossest sin you might say that a lost person can commit is rejecting Christ. And the grossest sin that a believer can commit is to depart from God’s Word and as the Bible describes it, committing spiritual fornication or adultery, where we’re not true to the one in living God, the Lord Jesus Christ who took on flesh, God who took on flesh.

So hopefully that helps Elaine and thank you for tuning into us out in Houston, Texas. We have John in New Orleans and John walked from the Bible on your own ear. Yes, sir. I have some questions about an opinion that if we teach that then we kind of give license for Christians to sin. Well you know Paul was accused of that. If you read the book of Romans he says that people slandorously said about him that he He was teaching that you just go out and live as you please.

But he says that is obviously not true. You know, we’re saved once and for all, once we trust Christ, you’re born again. And there’s no provision in the Bible per person born again to become unborn. But some churches really have you coming back every week and being born again and again and again and again and again. That’s just bad teaching. you were born physically, you don’t have a second physical birth and once you get born spiritually the new birth that the Bible talks about, you are born again forever.

And the Bible says then the God the Holy Spirit comes to dwell you forever. And Jesus says in Hebrews 13 and 5, I will never leave you. So in other words Christ comes and dwells in your body and he says I’ll never leave you. Now think about it. If you somehow became lost and you went to hell, Christ would have to go to hell with you because he said, I’ll never leave you. That’s not going to happen. But he does say that he will chase him or discipline you as a delinquent believer.

So if you’re going to live in sin, then God is going to thank you. And Hebrews chapter 12 verse 6 says, for whom the Lord loves, he chases or disciplines and scourges every son that he receives. In verse 8, if you be without chastisement or discipline, where of all of God’s children are partakers, you are a bastard and not one of my sons. If you are claiming to be a Christian and are not, then God is not going to discipline you.

If you are truly born again, you cannot live as you please. The Bible talks about believers losing reward, losing their effectiveness, their testimony, their joy and you can even lose your life. The Lord might take you home to have it early but you can’t lose your salvation. Well, doesn’t that indicate though that in this chastening it says that if you endure then are you truly sons and that it comes to this matter of if you want to be a son of God, you got to repent and that’s not only repent and change your mind.

That means you’ve got to quit sinning, keep these commandments and be a son of God. And as far as the works goes, then we were created to do good work. Well we are after we get saved. The new birth is being created in Christ Jesus unto not because of or as a result of, but unto good works that we ought to do as a believer. If I never did a thing for God my whole life, I’d still go to heaven because of what Christ did for me.

He’s the Savior. It’s not… The Bible says you have no grace. Romans 11, 6 that we covered earlier. So once you become saved, Jesus says in John 6, 37 that hymn come up to me, I will in no wise cast out. So there’s no reason to to be cast out once you trust Christ. And then verse 39 of John 6 is even better where he says, this is the Father’s will which has sent me that of all of which have given me I should lose none, not one.

Basically if one person were ever lost after that he became saved the Bible would be wrong, Christ would be a liar and he makes a promise that he would never lose anybody. I’m never going to be lost, but my rewards, my blessings are based totally upon my works. And so if I’m going to be blessed, if I’m going to be rewarded, if I’m going to be happy, if I’m going to be effective, if I’m going to have rewards in heaven, that’s going to be based upon my service to Christ after I’m saved.

But it’s true, you can do anything you want after you’re saved and you’re still going to heaven, but you might get there sitting and you’re planning on going. There’s this helm and and it but cannot throw it away. You can’t you’re stuck Once you trust Christ, it’s impossible for you to ever become lost Well, we’ve got to run and we’ll have to get back to you tomorrow on that. I’m Dr. Anglister This has been by blind people. Look it up.

I hope you’ll plan to listen again tomorrow when we come back on the year again. I hope if you have a question you’ll call and leave it off air or plan between 10 and 11 Eastern Standard Time to call the program and we’ll put you up on the program. And of course we hope that you’ll pray for Bibleline and if you haven’t given a gift to Bibleline in this month of March we hope that you will plan to give a gift to Bible Line.

We’re going to be leaving for Israel on this coming Monday and we’ll do some shows from Israel. Hopefully as many as we can, we can’t guarantee that we’ll get a good connection to be able to do that, but we’re hoping to. In any case, pray for us as we visit the sites of the Bible and we’ll be going again and I hope you might stay in touch with us about the possibility of being in on the next trip that I take.

trip number 14 for me and we’d love to have you go and explore the land of Jesus just walking on those very stones that the apostles in Christ walked on thousands of years ago. In any case the Bible is true, salvation is a gift, it’s offered by faith in Christ to all that would trust Christ as Savior, who’s to ever believe within Him should not perish but have everlasting life. And everlasting means exactly that. It’s forever and ever and ever.

So if you have everlasting life today, it’ll be everlasting tomorrow and next week and a hundred years from now and a million years from now. It’s everlasting life that you receive in the present tense at the moment you believe. We’ve got a run, but we’ll be back Lord willing tomorrow. And I hope you’ll join us then. Or later today, go to the internet and catch this. and by the years we’re the program sitting there for you. In any case, have a wonderful day, and God bless, and we’ll be back tomorrow.
