Bibleline Radio Show – 2007-04-05 – Easter is the mother of Baal

Should Christians use the ‘E’ word? What does the term Easter mean? In the Old Testament times the Bible talks about Ashtoreth and Baal worship in I Kings 11:5-6, The short form is Ashtar or Ishtar and the English form of the word is “EASTER”. Easter is nothing other than the mother of Baal and the celebration or worship of Ashtoreth is forbidden in the Old Testament Scriptures.

Good morning and welcome to Bibleline great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning into the broadcast We look forward to being with you each and every day Monday through Friday And we’re coming to you live from our studios right here in Tampa from the Calvary Community Church This is an exciting week.

We just had yesterday was good Wednesday And we had a wonderful service and people trusting Christ to save your last night and it was exciting. Of course, we’re now coming up on Saturday when we’re having a sundown service and we’re going to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ at sundown on Saturday, which is when we believe he rose from the dead. Think about it, if he was placed in the grave at sundown and said he would be in the grave three days and three nights at 72 hours.

He had to rise at sundown. If you leave Christ in the grave till Sunday morning that’s three days and four nights, Jesus said three days and three nights, not three days and four nights. And in the morning nobody saw the resurrection. They discovered an empty tomb and it was later that day that he appeared and showed himself alive. And so this Saturday you’re welcome to come at six o’clock to our Saturday sundown service. I just even like the sound of it.

And so we’ll be celebrating Christ’s resurrection. You’re welcome to come. And of course on Sunday we’ll be celebrating the Resurrection of Christ in our 10-30 Morning Worship and I also have an adult class you could join if you’d like to give me in my class at 9-15. On Sunday morning if you live in an area where you can’t drive here and in another state you can go on the internet on Sunday and catch us at 11 o’clock. Just go to BibleLineMinistries.org or dot com.

on the camera and you’ll be connected to the morning worship and you’ll catch the service right here from Tampa, Florida on your internet. That’s BibleLineMinistries.org.com. And of course we use the R word, not the E word, we call it Resurrection Sunday. And by the way, somebody called in was curious about whether we gave out eggs on Resurrection Sunday. We We do give candy to the children who come, but we don’t give any eggs out and we don’t go on egg hunts.

We are trying to avoid the paganism that’s been wet in the Christianity, and we simply celebrate the resurrection of Christ. Of course, we reward the children who listen and who are paying attention to the story of the gospel and the resurrection of Christ by giving them some candy on that special day. we call it resurrection candy. We are welcome to come, we would love to have you, that will be this Sunday and we hope that you will come and be a part of it with us.

We are excited about the fact that this is the most special week in all of Christianity where it is about the heart, meat of the Bible, the death, the barrel, the resurrection of Christ. Jesus Christ was crucified and buried and risen again from the dead and that is what the gospel message is all about. This message began to be unfolded right there in the book of Genesis in chapter 3 and is a thread that winds through the whole Bible right through the last chapters of the book of Revelation.

Revelation 22, we see the final invitation of the Bible when God says that whosoever will can come and take of the water of life freely. That wonderful invitation is given just before the book closes and the Bible is hindered. It tells us that anyone can receive the wonderful gift that was purchased by Christ, death, and shed blood at the cross and was in his receive when you put your trust in Christ as your Savior. I hope you’re excited and you should be as a believer because you’ll hear no better news than the gospel.

Good news. I heard it at 18, I trusted Christ and you know that was the most important decision that I ever made in my life to trust Christ received the gift of eternal life. And now because of that, I belong to the Lord and He belongs to me. We have obviously… He entered into his family and are related to him by birth. I am God’s son and you might be God’s son or daughter. When you trust Christ, you become born again and God becomes your father for the first time.

And so this is obviously a very special week. So, Saturday, if you’d like to come at 6 p.m., we have a sundown service and it will last about an hour and a half. And then on Sunday morning we have our 10-30 morning worship which will be a resurrection service and I also have an adult class. You’re welcome to come and join us for that if you would like. We’re also going to teach another Tuesday class coming up probably in the middle of April here.

We’ll announce the start of the class and we’ll give you the title of it and if you’re in driving this you can come and sit in those classes and be a student or you can also subscribe and watch them on the internet from anywhere in the world which is also exciting. Well in any case we’re excited about the season and we believe Christ rose from the dead and he’s alive forevermore. You know the resurrection is a critical part of the New Testament message because it is the fact that Christ is set apart from all other wannabes to the real and genuine Savior, the real God of the universe by His resurrection.

Jesus Christ, according to the Bible, is God. He is the second eternal member of the Godhead. He has existed from eternity past. He intercepted history by taking on a human body and that took place at Bethlehem and that’s what we celebrate at Christmastime, the incarnation God taking on flesh. He grew up and became a man and went to the cross and there he died taking your sins and mine upon himself and paying for them by his death on the cross of Calvary.

We know in 2 Corinthians 5, 21 it says that God made Christ to be sin for us. Christ who knew no sin that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. What a wonderful verse that is. It tells us that God took our sin and later upon Jesus Christ, in Christ who was absolutely sinless, who knew no sin was made to be sin for us, so that we in the exchange, the substitutionary death of Christ, might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

And that is, of course, the wonderful truth of the gospel. I’m a sinner. But my sins were taken by God and laid upon Christ, so were yours. And he paid for them. But when you trust that He did not for you, then God finishes the exchange and your account, my account, is credited with God’s righteousness. If you were as righteous as God, could you be certain of going to heaven? The answer is absolutely you could. And of course, that’s what the Bible teaches, that you are made righteous in Christ when you trust Christ as your Savior.

Philippians 3-9 says, Be found in him, that is Christ. Not having your own righteousness, which is of the law, or by works, but by the righteousness, which is of God by faith. So when you place your trust in Christ, you are found in Christ by faith, having Christ righteousness and not your own. God looks at the believer and sees Christ’s righteousness. and therefore your eligible inner heaven because you and I cannot earn eternal life. Our best works and deeds are filthy ranks and it’s impossible for us to earn our way to heaven or climb our way into heaven or do anything to save ourselves.

It is Christ and Christ alone and I never knew that. I was raised in church, but I never heard that it was only through faith in Christ that I would be saved. I hope you’ve trusted Christ as your Savior. And if you haven’t, that would be great if you would do that. And again, if you’re in the Tampa Bay area, come out and see us for our sundown service and Saturday at 6. And again, Sunday morning for our resurrection service at 10.30 in the morning.

We have the adult class and other classes at 915 and we would like to have you come and join us for all of that. We’re going to go and take a look at some of the offer questions and then take on-air questions. If you’d like to call in and get up on the air, the number is 1-800-576-3771. I think we’ll just go to Zipper Hills right now and we have Garland on the phone. Welcome to Bibleline your On-The-Air. Yes, sir, Dr.

Hank. I just want your comments if you thought that the church was doing any wrong in just Let’s say just singing contemporary Christian music instead of traditional hymns and As far as preaching Everything seemed like it has to be relevant to the very and is there anything wrong with contemporary preaching and And how often do you feel like that the church should do communion? And I’ll hang out and listen to your answers. Thank you, sir. All right. Well, on music, you know, the key thing is the words.

And today, the contemporary music is, as somebody once said, 7-11. Seven phrases repeated 11 times. And it’s usually pretty fluffy and light and not much substance to it. So I love personally the hymns because they have so much meat to them. And some of the great hymns are filled with wonderful teachings. And that’s another aspect of singing is that we can learn from hymns. Of course, some hymns are not sound. And certainly some of the contemporary music is not sound in doctrine.

So I think you have to not just sing anything, you have to be selective and careful. And nothing wrong with contemporary music, but a lot of it I think is more about the beat and more about everything but the words which are so important. So I’m not against contemporary music, but I do prefer the old hymn. Some of them are so wonderful. I love the old Reggae Cross which is obviously our theme song here on Bibleline. Contemporary preaching, nothing wrong with that but we’re to be teaching the Word.

If you read Acts chapter 2, the early church came together and the first thing on their list was they came together for the apostles doctrine. Are you being taught the Word of God in your church? That’s the important thing because that’s what the early church did and that’s what we are to do. We are to come together and study the Word of God. In fact, you read all through the book of Acts that was primary. The Word of God was what was taught.

When Paul talks to the elders at Ephesus when he was at My Leetus there in Acts chapter 20, he told them that he held back nothing but taught them the Word of God, all of it, and with held nothing. He was teaching them and instructing them in God’s Word. That is, of course, the key. And obviously today we’re not teaching much of the Word of God, and most people don’t know much of the Word of God, and most Christians can’t quote even a verse of scripture, which is sad.

I believe that we ought to be not only reading the Word of God, but we need to be memorizing. We need to be hiding it in our heart. The way we hide it in our heart, which is really our mind, is by memorization. It’s the only way you can do that. And so I really fairly recommend that you make sure that you’re teaching God’s Word and that the hymns or songs that you sing in temporary or the old-fashioned hymns that they are scriptural and that they have some substance to them.

I hope that answers your question there, Garland. And thank you for tuning into Bible. We have Tony now and Tony is in, let’s see here we have in Plant City. Tony, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Good morning Hank, how are you? Good. Well I’ve got a question and a comment. The question that I have is on the timeline of the death barrel and theÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ we always seem to be splitting hairs with people, you know, a day here, a day here and whatnot.

But I’m dealing with somebody who’s holding me up to a microscope you might say and you know I need to get a little bit more information. information about it and I’m wondering how. So if you can help me out with that, I’d be appreciated or I appreciate it. Okay. Then I guess my comment is before I hang up and listen to what you have to say about the death of barrels and other people that I associate with and deal with on a regular basis have been taught by you and very well about religion, truth and so forth.

We’re still doing the traditions, but we’re calling them something different. And that seems like that’s what happens when Constantine declared the world to be, you know, the world religion to be Christian. They took all of their traditions and all of their stuff and put, you know, Christian labels on it. And we still do it to this day. The only thing is now we’re changing the names back. The traditions are the same. You know what I mean? Okay. So, uh, Most of Christianity is still carrying all the pagan traditions along with them.

You’re right Well, you know, I heard yesterday that they were planning on having a resurrection egg hunt at the church this weekend. We’ve never had an egg hunt here. We don’t do that. I know. Well, I didn’t think of it. I did think of it. I just heard that yesterday and it kind of struck me as, you know, ah, and I didn’t think that you would do that. No, we don’t do that. Well, you know, I know that, you know, like with Christmas and Easter and other things like that, you know, I appreciate your stance and what you say and what you do.

You know, but you know, it’s a clear, you know, believers are different to me than Christians. And everybody that calls them Christians, they’re not even half of them aren’t even believers. But we act pretty much just like them, you know. And with some of the stuff, you know, I feel like I have the ability and the power side of that and not partake in it, you know. And people see me as an extremist because I won’t have anything to do with Christmas on December 25th.

You know, I don’t, you know, and part of my witnesses when people are calling me crazy and ask me why I do this and why I don’t. And, you know, it stands out better than me celebrating twice. Well, I do it zero to do with it. And they might see it as extreme, but they see a difference in the kind of believer that I am. Not that that’s really what I’m looking to do, it’s just the way it is.

Well, anyway, what we try to do here is I point out that we don’t use the E word, we use the R word. word. We have a sundown service rather than a sunrise service because we believe Christ rose at sundown. And of course we worship Christ and we celebrate his resurrection and we always have children’s things but we don’t have any of the eggs in the fertility things that we give out candy but candy doesn’t multiply and candy doesn’t represent fertility.

We We just give it as a reward for those that listen and pass and pay attention and are learning about Jesus Christ. As far as the timeline, I believe that when you go to Exodus 12 and you see how the lamb was picked out on the 10th day, we believe that 10th day was Palm Sunday. And then the lamb was to be examined and shown to be without blemish or without spot or sinless. And we believe that that’s what happened over the next several days from Palm Sunday till Christ goes to the cross.

And we find that Christ was examined by the Pharisees, the Sadducees, the Herodians, by Chaiaphas, by Anas, by Herod, and finally by Pilate, and Pilate being the last inquisitor, sons of all our pieces, I find no fault in this man. So he was the sinless Lamb of God. He died on the preparation day of the Passover, which was Wednesday, and he died exactly at 3 o’clock in the afternoon, which is exactly according to Exodus, the beginning of the twilight or the evening of the Passover.

And so he died exactly like it tells us it would happen. Then Thursday of that week was the 14th, which the Bible says that he was to be sacrificed on the Passover, which was the 14th in the evening. And then the evening was always the afternoon of the preceding day, so we believe Christ truly was crucified on Wednesday at 3 p.m. Placed in the grave at 6 p.m. And then Jesus in his own words tells us in Matthew 1240, he’d be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

And that would mean he has to come out of the grave at 6 p.m. Then Saturday, which is really the end of the Sabbath in the beginning of the first day of the week. So Christ rose right at the beginning of the first day of the week. And then Sunday morning they discovered the tomb empty and Christ was already alive and showed himself later after they had discovered that empty tomb when the sun came up in the morning. So basically the 17th day of the month was the Resurrection Sunday and the 10th day was Palm Sunday and if you get my crucifixion chart it has everything in between all laid out and I think the Bible is beautifully written and because the New Testament and the I hope that it helps a little bit and I don’t know if you’ve answered all of your questions, but we don’t really do anything pagan here that

I know of. We try to stay with the Bible and stay with the truth of it and make it clear to people. And I’m telling people that when you’re out on the street, say to people, happy resurrection. It’s a powerful witness to the fact that we believe Jesus is risen again and he’s the only Savior. How is it that with something that’s so well documented, you know, unlike his birthday, his death and his resurrection, it’s so well documented. we have so many clues.

How is it that we’re not all in a greenstone if it’s so open? How is it that we have Friday, Thursday, Wednesday? Well, I think the answer is that people aren’t really appealing to their Bible. They are taught and their churches don’t want to leave the comfortable tradition that they’ve established for so many centuries. They’re not really going to leap out and do something different. If you churches are having a sundown service, I don’t know if any really, but I’m doing it because I don’t really care whether people are offended by, we don’t practice a tradition.

But I want to do, what I want to do is present when Christ really did rise, was it sundown? And I think it’s quite clear, but it doesn’t matter. As far as being saved, if you trust that he died for you, was buried in Rosigund from the dead, you’ll be saved whether you believe it was on Saturday night or Sunday morning. But it shows that we’re not really careful students anymore. And that’s why I think the gospel is so confusing today to people because people aren’t giving a clear message anymore that it’s Christ alone and by faith in His shed blood alone that a person is saved.

And it’s not by any human contribution in addition to that that saves us or gets us saved. We’re saved eternally from the moment we trust Christ. It’s just a matter of people aren’t looking at their Bible. Unfortunately, I’m trying to get people back to the Bible and I raise all this to get people to, hey, I need to check that out for myself and hopefully they’re studying the Bible as a result of Bible. Thank you very much for the knowledge, Hank and God bless.

Okay, happy resurrection to you and we are going to go to Sean in Richmond, Virginia. Sean, welcome to Bibleline your on the air. I had a question about paying two taxes and their role in Christian life. Most specifically, I was wondering if they are more an advisor or authority. I’ve had a discussion with my father, where there’s an discrepancy in the Bible where I don’t totally agree. It’s actually timing. But my church does pre-tidy, but I don’t die because of that person’s hope.

First talk about what we’re all to give freely and I was wondering because of the use of the Scripturists as a Beethoven have authority because they watch over your soul when they are they actually a pastor putting their lives with spiritual Thais or are they action authority which can almost go over the Bible? All right All right, well, that’s a good question. And of course, in Ephesians 4, it says they are pastor teachers. That’s really one word and a pastor is a shepherd.

And obviously, he guides and directs. And obviously, they are not allowed to guide a direct outside of God’s Word or God’s will and they also teach or instruct what the Word of God has to say so that you might have the benefit of their usually many times a lifetime of experience in God’s Word and learning and teaching and so on. But again that doesn’t mean that you’re exempted from reading your Bible or using your brain and seeing what it says for yourself.

But in a church position, if you become a member of a church, then for order and for structure, there is an authority. And certainly you need to follow the leaders of the church, or you have chaos, and you have anarchy, and you have nothing but confusion. And so if you cannot agree with the church where you attend, then you need to find another one. But otherwise if you’re there, you need to be loyal and faithful and follow the leadership of the church if they are He said, teaching you to do things that are not scriptural, then you’re not obligated to keep those rulings, but certainly otherwise you should submit yourself to the leadership of your church.

In every situation we have to submit. We submit ourselves to our government and we’re to pay our taxes and in a marriage, you’re to submit yourselves one to another, the husband and the wife to each other. All these things are very, very basic teachings in the Bible. But timing, we’re not under the Old Testament law, but somebody once said, should we give less under grace than we gave under the law. And so you need to make a choice about how much to give.

But as I like Charles Rirey very much, and he says, well, why not give 9.5% or maybe 11% or 12%? and choose another number, but you’re not under the law where you give 10. You can, of course, that’s your choice. Anyway, we have to go to break and thank you for your call and we appreciate it. And we’re going to take a short break and come back and do a second half hour Bible line. I hope you’ll stay tuned and listen to the second half hour.

Call our 800 Dumber and get your name on that list because we’d love to have you on my 15th trip to Israel and the Middle East and we’re going to have a wonderful time and I’d love to have you come along with us.

We’re going to be talking about the Bible. We’ll take your call if you’d like to call in 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. All right, I’m going to take a couple of affairs and then we’ve got lots of people waiting live to go on the air. So let me first go to Barbara in Seminole. She says, elaborate on the church not being mentioned after the Rapture. Well, in the book of Revelation, you’ll see in chapters two and three, I believe seven messages to seven churches that really did exist, but it was a prophetic picture of church history over the past 2000 years.

And I believe we’re living right now during the later the Sea in Church Age, the picture of the lukewarm Church just before the Rapture happens. In chapter 4, verse 1 of Revelation, I believe we have a picture of the Rapture. John sees a door opened in heaven, hears a voice like a trumpet. It says, come up hither, and John is caught up, and after that the church is no longer mentioned. I believe that all of a sudden now the Raptures happen, and the next chapters, 4 through 19 of the book of Revelation, are commentary on the tribulation period.

And so the church is gone. It’s not there during the commentary on the Tribulation period because it’s been raptured out. So, Barbara, I hope that helps a little bit and we’ll wait to hear from you if you didn’t answer your question. We’re going to go to Edgar in Petersburg, Virginia, and Edgar, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Well, we’re getting close to the resurrection of Christ, at least the week that we celebrate. Yeah, I’ve been perusing Charles C.

Ryrie’s basic theology and the segment in the book that’s most intellectually appealing to me is the topic of Adams seeing being imputed to all of humanity. Well, he didn’t have any righteousness. He was the first sinner and he just like all of us have Adam sinned it says in Romans 5 12 and he passed that sin upon every air at one of us And so he had no righteousness to pass on we’re all sinners. We’re not righteous But Christ is the second Adam and he’s the one who redeemed the human race and his righteousness is the one that’s imputed to all that believe on Christ and so I I think that’s the answer.

Adam didn’t have any righteousness to impute. Okay, now when I say righteousness, what I mean is the fact that Christ is only me. Well, it is through Christ, but it’s not through Adam. Adam has no righteousness. He had to receive Christ’s righteousness, and so do we. And so Adam didn’t have a righteousness that he could pass on. He received a righteousness through faith in Christ, just like we do. And that’s how we’re saved. But he couldn’t pass that on.

He passed on his sin because that was affected our physical humanness. As we were his descendants that was passed on through his genes. But only through Christ can we receive righteousness. And when we trust him as Savior, we become born into his family. and then we’re related and we have his righteousness that is credited to our account. Okay, I got one more question. In Rome is 5-12, the Bible of Vers that sinned into the world by Adam. Wherefore not by Eve since she bit the fruit first.

And that’s right because obviously we’re related to Adam. It’s the man that passes on the seed that, uh, uh, conception that’s the life is, if you don’t have a man, you don’t have any children, uh, women without any men would not be able to procreate. And so it’s Ben who passes it on. So he became the head, you might say, the one that was responsible and not Eve. Okay, Edgar, and thank you for your call. And we’re going now to Marva in Richmond, Virginia.

And Marva, welcome to my one. You’re on the air. Hello. Am I saying your name correctly? Yes, yes, you are, sir. Okay, Marva. Welcome. on the earth. Okay hello I had a question about speaking in other tongues. Okay. And my question is I’ve heard some people say that some people when they’re speaking in other tongues it’s the devil speaking. Well you know there’s nobody speaking in tongues today. What is being done today is not the biblical gift which was a known foreign language to be used to evangelize the lost so they could hear the gospel in their very own language.

In fact, the Greek word used in the book of Acts is dialectos and it means a specific dialect of a specific language. So that gives us temporary nature. 1 Corinthians 13 says it would cease when the New Testament was completed, which was at the end of the 1st century. And There is no history of tongue speaking for 1900 years. It was in 1906 out in Azusa, California that this modern movement began. But nobody understands that language. It’s all gibberish and is by the way done by all the world religions.

The real gift has never been revived and nobody today is speaking in the biblical gift of tongues. Oh, okay. Well, what are we doing? they call it an unknown language that’s not directly to God? That’s right and the word unknown is not in the original. If you notice every time in your Bible you see the word unknown in 1 Corinthians 14 it’s an italics and the italicized words are italicized because the translators are letting you know that they added them that they’re not in the original manuscript.

So the word unknown doesn’t belong there and what they were trying to do is let us know that this was a language when it was in practice, unknown to the hearer when the Corinthian believers were misusing it in their church when they should have been using it in some foreign country, taking the gospel to people in their own language. They were using a foreign language in the Corinthian church when nobody at Corinth understood that language. And so Paul was pointing out that it was unknown to the hearer and that was a misuse of the genuine gift.

But there is no secret decoder language to talk to God and there is no unknown language. 1 Corinthians 14, 9 says, except you speak by the tongue, words easy to be understood. How shall it be known what is spoken? So where to speak plainly and in the language of the hearer so they can hear? And chapter 14 verse 22 tells us it’s a sign not to believers but to unbelievers so it was to be used with the lost. He’s doing that today.

Oh, so we’re just getting deceived, huh? Yes. Okay, so now what would you say to pray the Word of God? Is that the correct way to pray? Absolutely. I think you’re right on target. Okay, well thank you so much for your help. All right, Marva in Richmond, Virginia and the modern day tongues movement is not the biblical tongues at all. We have Betty in Beverly Hills Florida and Betty, welcome to Bibleline You’re on the Earth. Good morning, Brother Linsch.

I’ve been thinking about these catastrophic weather conditions and worldwide, as a matter of fact. I’d like to know what your theological position is on it, actually. Would you say that it’s a warning from God or how would we put that? I’m thinking also of in the book of Job. How apparently it was a tornado that destroyed Joe’s house and so forth and how actually God gave a safety permission. Would you help me on that, please? All right. I like Luke 21 25 where Christ gives us several things and we have a sign of his return.

It says that there shall be signs in the heaven and the sun and the moon and the stars and we certainly see that today with rockets going in the space. people living on it in space and the many other things that are happening in outer space that have our attention today. Also upon the earth it would be perplexity among the nations, the stress of nations and we certainly see that. And then lastly it says, the sea and the waves roaring which I think it talks about there are the weather changes and the storms that would come and it’s all a sign of the Lord’s return.

It says in verse 28, when these things begin to come to pass, Luke 21-25 and verse 28 says, when these things begin, then it says look up, lift up your heads because your redemption draws nice. I think these are in time signs and I think the weather changes are part of it and apparently it may be the beginning of Israel getting their second reign back. They only have one or any season but at one time because of their sin was taken away, they had two rainy seasons.

And apparently when Jesus comes back they’ll get that second rainy season and maybe whether patterns are changing worldwide to prepare for that event to take place when they’ll get a second rainy season again. I agree with you, Hawan and Lee. As a matter of fact I’ve heard it told that the second coming of Christ is referred to as the latter rain. But why I mention to this to you brother is I do hold your particular position and at one time I contacted a Christian cartoonist and complained that I was just sick of hearing weathermen and others referring to the weather conditions coming from mother nature and he drew a very beautiful cartoon and color and everything and it shows the back of someone sitting on a throne with his hand sort of on a lever and various weather phenomena and weather wheel.

Anyway, he’s saying go ahead, call me Mother Nature one more time. And it was really speaking of my position in the way I feel and I feel so frustrated with Mother Nature being referred to all of the time. I would say whatever happened to Father God. So we have this particular very pretty and I think message sending partume framed and Bob and I would like to bring it down and give it to you so maybe perhaps you’ll find a little corner for it.

Well thank you. Because we love you and God willing we’ll be seeing you for the sundown service and we just praise the Lord for you that you’re sticking close to the Word of God. Alright, well thank you and we look forward to having you for our Sundown service. That will be this Saturday at 6 p.m. as we celebrate the resurrection sundown on Saturday. And also on Sunday morning at our 1030 service we’ll be celebrating the resurrection of Christ. And you’re welcome to come and join us.

If you are not in the temporary, you can catch our morning worship service on the internet by clicking on the camera on the home page that’s BibleLineMinistries.org or .com either way. We’re now going to go to Rick in Lutz, Florida and Rick, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the year. Good morning, Dr. Hank. How are you doing? Good. purchase the 10 set DVD belief that matters and I just want to recommend that he teachings his own and I really appreciate it.

Well thank you. I appreciate it. That is which one was the one you ordered or God? Belieced that matters. Belieced that matters. You have the 10 set DVD. Well that’s great and I’m glad to hear that you’re enjoying that. We have quite a few different series that are so helpful for people if they would take advantage of either in the CD format or the DVD where they can actually watch the teaching as well as hear it. And thank you Rick for that compliment.

You’re welcome. Have a good resurrection Sunday. All right. Rick in Lutz, Florida just got some of our materials. That’s wonderful. We have Don in Lake Wales and I understand he’s a first time caller and thanks for calling in today Don. You’re on the air. Hello Don. Did I lose him or? I don’t hear that. Don’t either. I’ll have to have him call back or maybe our pretty good check to see if he’s on a different line but We’re looking forward to talking to Don and Lake Wales calling in for the very first time All right, well we’ll have to have Don call back.

I’m sorry Don. Whatever happened we lost you and We lost that call. Anyway Let’s see. I hear the phone ring. Maybe he’s calling back. We have David in St. Petersburg calls in and ask this offer question. It says says, what does the truth of the Bible point to? Not too sure what that question means, but the whole Bible focuses on Jesus. The book is written to reveal God, and God is revealed in the person of Jesus Christ, the God-Man who came to the earth and went to the cross and died to pay for our sins.

And this week, obviously, is the heart made of the whole Bible because this is the message that was unfolding from Genesis right on through to the book of Revelation in the last chapter. The fact that God loved the world, gave his son, and that whosoever would believe in him would not perish but have everlasting life. We have, uh, uh, uh, off here, Greg in Bradenton, Florida, asking was Paul married, and where do I find it in Scripture? And the answer is 1st Corinthians chapter 9 verses 6.

Take a look at that, Greg in Bradenton, Florida. Vicki in Largo calls in and leaves this offer a question, how do you speak to a Mormon about salvation? Well, the same way you would talk to anyone else, you have to give them the gospel message and go over the death of the barrel of the resurrection of Christ. The Mormons are quite difficult because again they are a cult, they are not Christian, they claim that they are the church of the Latter-day Saints of Jesus Christ, but they are not.

And they obviously have other writings that they hold to that are contradictory to the Bible. The Book of Mormon and the Bible are not compatible, and so you have to choose one as being wrong. And guess which one I would choose to begeoned. The Book of Mormon. But I wouldn’t try to get into too much of that. I would just go over the fact that they need to trust Christ as their Savior. And the Jesus of Mormonism is not the Jesus of the Bible.

So you have to identify the real Jesus as being the God of creation who came and took on human flesh and went to the cross. And then you have to point out salvation is by faith and not by works. The Mormons believe in water baptism for salvation, keeping the commandments for salvation, and obviously they’re wrong. So I would recommend that you stay with who Christ is and how he purchased our salvation by his death and shed blood, his burial and his resurrection.

Thank you. David in Schenectony, New York calls in, leaves this offer a question. What do you think about Nostradamus and Hidden Prophecy? Does it relate to the Bible? So, well, the Bible tells us there’d be many false teachers and he would fit into the category of a false prophet. Obviously if you ever read his prophecies you really have to stretch your imagination real big to try to come up with what he’s saying. And obviously in hindsight people are trying to match up things but I really can’t see They match up at all.

I believe that this is just a definite counterfeit Satan has his profits. But the test of a Bible prophet is that they’re always 100% accurate and that’s true of the prophets in the Bible. The Bible is never wrong, always right, and amazingly tells prophecies thousands of years in advance and never fails. We have John in Richmond, Virginia John, welcome to Bibleline thank you for holding. Yes, how are you brother Hank? Good. I don’t know how you tell them that.

Do you just want to read from the dead? Good. I’m matching up with the Bible. Well, how is it not matching up? You said, well, he didn’t ride on Sunday morning. No, he rose at the beginning of Sunday, which is the night period comes first as the Jews count time, and he rose exactly at the second that the first day of the week began, which it’s 6 p.m. Saturday. Yeah, you know, Christ was placed in the grave. Do you agree?

He was placed in the grave at sundown? He was crucified at 3 in the afternoon. He was placed in the grave at sundown as the Passover began. So the Passover began at 6 p.m. That was Thursday of the Crucifixion Week. And so Thursday night began Wednesday at 6 p.m. and then he would be in the grave for 72 hours, Manti 1240. And if you go in the grave for 72 hours, you have to come out at sundown. If you go in at sundown.

of Christ rose at the end of the Sabbath, the beginning of the first day of the week, and in the morning they discovered the empty tomb, but he had already been risen by twelve hours. No, well, to the stone, to the stone, the angels rolled the stone away, but they rolled it away and they went in and found the body was gone. He was already gone. No, but they did. They were there in the morning, didn’t it? Yeah, that’s right.

But Christ didn’t rise in the morning. He rose twelve hours earlier. He rose. Yep. For sure. This has a massive 28, you know, first chapter 28, chapter, or Matthew. What that’s talking about. Well, I’m talking about how that there was an earthquake in the morning and the angels rolling. rolled the stone away, but Christ had already risen earlier by 12 hours. Christ, think about it now. If Christ said Matthew 1240, He’d be in the grave three days and three nights, that’s 72 hours.

If you leave Him in the grave till Sunday morning, that would be three days and four nights, an extra night period. And that would be contrary to what Christ said. He said he’d be in the grave three days and three nights. So he was placed in the grave at the beginning of the Passover. The night period comes first at 6 p.m. Then he rises 72 hours later at the sundown at the beginning of the first day of the week.

Sunday night begins Saturday at 6 p.m. You have to think in terms of the Jewish people telling their day from the sundown to sundown and their night period is first and then the daylight period. Just like in Genesis, the evening and the morning were the first day. It doesn’t say the morning and the evening, it says the evening and the morning. They count their night first. Even to the sour, if you go to a synagogue on Friday night, they’re worshiping because Friday night is the Sabbath.

And so the Sabbath ends at 6 p.m. on Saturday and that’s when Sunday begins. Sunday night begins at 6 p.m. on Saturday. I know it’s complicated. You have to sit down and draw it out on paper maybe to see it, but Christ rose 72 hours after he’s placed on the grave. He rose at the beginning of the first day of the week, which was the night period first, and then in the morning they discovered the tomb empty. Thank you so much for calling.

We find here Frederick in Bradenton, Florida, calls in with a software question. In Genesis 32 it says, Jacob saw the face of God. Then there is a scripture that says nobody has seen God, that’s in John 1 verse 18. Please explain. Well, he actually was wrestling with Jesus. Jesus made a number of appearances in the Old Testament. Abraham saw Jesus, Jesus said, in John 8, and rejoiced because he got the scene. So we have some pre-incarnated appearances of Christ in the Old Testament and Jacob actually wrestled with Jesus and saw him.

So as a spirit nobody can see God, but God revealed in flesh can be seen and Jesus did appear there to Jacob and he wrestled with Jesus. And Jesus of course is the one he saw, God in flesh. Thank you. All fear, dawn in Lake Wales, Florida calls in, Cain enabled and then there was Seth and it says they took wives. Where did they come from? they married their sisters and that was not a problem. It wasn’t until Moses that God warned against incest and that’s because I think the first humans were absolutely perfect and they didn’t have any genetic defects and so there was no problem about intermarriage.

But today it’s such that even if you marry somebody that isn’t related to you at all There’s a problem of birth defects because the human race is going downhill fast and that’s because of sin. But Adam and Eve were perfect in the creation and their children were healthy and perfect and they had to marry their brothers and sisters. Dr. Hank Lindstrom has been funding with you.
