The major sign indicating that we are in the Latter Days is the return of the Jews to the State of Israel. Since 1948 Israel is a nation again for the first time in 2,000 years. This is the generation that will see the return of the Lord. A seven-year peace treaty will be negotiated by the Antichrist between Israel and her Arab neighbors.

By the way, we also are going to teach a new class beginning the 24th of April and we hope that you’ll come and be a part of that.
If you’re in the driving distance area here by the line, come out and on Tuesday nights from 7 to 9, you’ll be able to join us for the two hour, for five week class, ten hours of teaching and this is going to be on the in-time controversy. We are living where the Second Coming of Christ, the Rapture, and all of these wonderful teachings are under direct attack. And so we’re going to spend time arming the Christian to be able to defend their position and to know what they believe and why they believe it.
We certainly hope that you’ll be a part of those classes. If you live in another area, in another state, you’re able to call in, get a passcode word as you sign up for the class and be able to watch it on the internet and also not only at the time when it’s live but you’ll be able to go back and watch it as often as you like. So keep that in mind. The 24th will begin. You can go ahead and sign up and advance if you want to take it over the internet or you can call up and sign up in advance if you’re going to come and take it in person.
That’s by coming here to the Calvary Community Church at 4811 George Road in Tampa, Florida. That’s Tuesday nights beginning on 24th of April from 7 to 9 for 5 weeks, 10 hours of instruction. We’re going to have a great time. We invite you to be a part of that. So we’re going to take callers today if you want to call into Bible. the phone number is 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. So give us a call and we’ll be glad to take your questions on air or off air.
You can leave it off air if you like and many do but you can also to come up on the air live with us if you would like. We are living, I believe, in the end times. They are clearly defined by the prophet Hosea, as when the Jewish people would return back to their land. This has happened literally. We find the Bible teaches, even back in the books of Moses, the first 5 books of the Bible, that Israel would be scattered in a worldwide dispersion.
And then they would return, and then Christ would return. And you’ll find that we’re living. Now in those days where the Jewish people have returned back to the state of Israel, Israel has become a nation again for the first time in 2000 years. And we believe we are on the very verge of the events that the Bible speaks about happening and that is Christ first coming for us at the Rapture, then followed by seven years of tribulation and then Christ returning in all of his power and all of his glory at the Second Coming to establish a Kingdom of Peace on Earth, Good Will, toward Men.
What the angels announced that the First Coming has been postponed because Christ was rejected, but when He comes the Second Time, which we believe is in the very near future, He will bring Peace on Earth, Good Will, toward Men. That’s exciting. I think we’re living in those days. We just got back from Israel and we had a wonderful time there. I’ve never seen such excitement among non-believing Jews about the rebuilding of their temple. It seems like it’s exciting. Even in the storefront, we saw a model of the temple that you could buy and take home, which I didn’t do.
But they had a sign and said, Now by it now before the Third Temple has been erected, we also saw a Menorah, a beautiful seven-branched candlestick made out of pure gold. Apparently some very wealthy benefactor gave the money for this and it stands about waist high. It’s a beautiful piece and it must cost millions to be solid gold and is beautifully crafted. This apparently is all set to go to be put into the third temple, along with the implements for sacrifice and the garments of the priesthood.
We had a young lady about 18 years of age just excited and glowing with excitement about the soon rebuilding of that third temple. It’s exciting. I think that we are seeing the signs and I’ve never seen that kind of excitement in Israel before this trip and just signs everywhere that the talk, the buzz is that the temple needs to be rebuilt and they want to get it up soon. And of course we know that Jesus according to the prophet Malachi will come back suddenly to a third temple that will be rebuilt and he’ll come suddenly to his temple that tells this in Malachi, and we find that there has to be a temple built before Christ can come back if he’s going to return to a temple.
And certainly in the book of 2 Thessalonians, the Antichrist, the man of sin, this wicked man who will come on the scene that will be empowered by Satan himself is going to enter into that temple it tells us in 2nd, Pessalonians chapter 2, and actually proclaim or professing that he is God and demand to be worshipped. That is another factor that tells us that there has to be a temple rebuilt or this could not even happen. And we find, of course, in the book of Revelation it tells us about the temple and the worshipers it will be at that temple in Chapter 11 that obviously is still future.
A third temple is coming and that Jesus Christ will come back and defeat the armies of this world. And I don’t remember in history ever reading about that, but it’s still future. And the armies of this world will come together and the army will come back and he will actually wind up being engaged by the armies of this world as they turn their weapons heavenward to try to take Christ out and he will of course defeat them and establish his kingdom here on this earth for a thousand years.
I hope you’ve trusted Christ as your savior. It’s certainly the most important decision you’d ever make in your life. Eternal life is a gift it’s been purchased by Christ death and shed blood offered free But all those that would simply put their trust. In Jesus Christ as your Savior. Have you done that? I certainly hope you have. It’s the most important decision that you would ever make in your entire life. And by the way, again, this is Bibleline. We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church.
This Sunday is our third Sunday, which means we have a dinner. You’re welcome to come and stay for lunch right after the morning service. Come at 9.15. Enjoy the night. my adult study, come at 1030, enjoy the worship service and then be my guest to stay for a wonderful dinner following. And those are always a terrific time to come and visit if you are. You can also, if you live in another city, in another state and can’t be here, you can join our worship service on the internet by clicking on the camera on the homepage of our website by the line ministries.org or .com.
And we hope that you’ll join us for our class that’s coming up on April 24th for five weeks, and that’s two hours per Tuesday night for five weeks, ten hours of teaching on the in-time controversy about the coming of Christ. Second Peter chapter three, it says that scoffers would come along in the last days saying, where is the promise of His coming? And we see exactly that happening today, even among Christian circles, debating whether Christ has already come or whether he’s coming again.
And we’ll be talking about that in this ten hours of teaching. I think you’ll find fascinating. And you can sign up and take the class on the Internet. And you can watch it not only live when it occurs, but go back and watch it again and again. And of course, the CDs and the DVDs of this teaching will be made available. We already have a wonderful series called, Jesus is Coming available on CD and DVD. We have one on 10 vital doctrines on CD and DVD.
We also have one on meeting the challenge, which was a perfect class, a challenge to you and me to live the Christian life and get busy about doing what God wants us to do and those are all available on CD and DVD and really powerful teachings available to you. We’re going to go to the phone lines. We have Lake Mary. We have Nyla on the line from Lake Mary, Florida and Nyla, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Good morning.
Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Okay. In a resurrection day we get together with the pamillion, we end up talking about salvation. My brother is getting ready to start teaching in a church, Spanish church, but he came out with something that we didn’t agree with. And this is the, he believes the person who has been saved has to get baptized for the redemption of sin and if they don’t get baptized, they don’t belong to the church and they won’t go with the church up in the rapture.
Well, that’s certainly not true at all and the water baptism is not a means of salvation or redemption. In fact, water will wash away your sin. Only the blood of Christ could wash away your sin. I like what the hymn writer wrote when he said, what could wash away my sin? the answer being only the blood of Christ. Nothing but the blood. Nothing but the blood could wash away by sin. Remind him of the dying thief who believed on Christ.
He was never water baptized and yet Jesus said to him, today thou shall be with me in paradise. I also like 1 Corinthians chapter 1 verse 14 where Paul because of the division caused over who had baptized who there at Corinth Paul says I thank God I baptized none of you. Well if water baptism were important as far as your salvation or getting you in the rapture then Paul could have never said that because he would say I’m glad you’re not saved and I’m glad you’re going to hell and I’m glad you’re not going to be in the rapture.
Paul said, I thank God, 1 Corinthians 1, 14, that I baptized none of you, but just two families or three families there. Then, verse 17, he says, Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel. So, he’s clearly telling us there that water baptism is not a part of the gospel, the saving message of the good news of the death, the burial, and the resurrection of Christ. But it’s one of the ordinances of the church, something that we ought to do as a testimony but not as a means of our salvation.
I have several sheets or articles that I’ve written on baptism. We’ll be glad to send those to you. I also have a CD Where I teach about 10 baptisms taught in the New Testament, and obviously there’s only one of them that saves and it’s not water. It’s the baptism where you’re placed into the body of Christ called the baptism of the Holy Spirit. That takes place at the moment of belief. Every believer has that baptism, but water doesn’t save.
So definitely you don’t want to go with that teaching. Mm-hmm for sure. Yes. Well, now I’m glad you’re listening to Bible. I mean, I hope we can help you Alright, and you put me just through to the one of your uh, stats I can ask for the CD. I’ll do that right now Okay, that was Nila and Nila wants to be Dila what you talked about so we’re not going to go to another phone line and we’re going to talk to gene in St.
Petersburg. Jean, welcome to Bibleline John Millan. Hello, Jean. Yeah, hi, you’re on the air. Hi, I have three questions and I’ll hang up. I wanted to know what happens is we’re in the rapture and we know that like I have a mortgage. And also do angels have free will and also in Heaven, where we’re in Heaven, what’s the distinction between angels and saints? And I’ll hang up to get answers. Okay. First of all, if at the Rapture you go up, you, obviously your dead will have to be paid by somebody else because you won’t be around to pay it.
I guess it would be the same as if you had died. Your dead is not yours anymore. It’ll be in somebody else’s hand. We teased one time about setting up our incorporation here to leave our assets of our church into the hands of 144,000 because obviously we’re not going to be here and it won’t really matter for us but we wanted to get into some kind of Christian hands. We know the 144,000 but of course it won’t happen because how could we identify them with other names and obviously just to put a statement out like that but it’s kind of fun to speculate what will happen to your properties and your debts and your assets when you leave.
Well you You leave it behind. That’s why the Christian needs to be thinking about leaving treasure in heaven. That comes by living for Christ after your same. As we invest in our time and our talents and our treasures with Christ in heaven, then we’ll have treasure in heaven when we get there based upon the works or deeds we’ve done here. As far as angels having free will, they had a choice way back when and a third of the angels chose with Satan to rebel against God and try to overthrow heaven.
They’ve all been judged and now they don’t have a choice anymore. Every one of the fallen angels are already judged and they’re already headed for the eternal lake of fire. They are not in hell yet. They will be cast in once Satan is cast in, but that won’t happen until after the thousand year earthly reign of Christ, which we believe is coming up rather quickly. If the rapture were to happen today, it would be seven years of tribulation, then Christ would establish that thousand year kingdom.
So a thousand and seven years later, after the rapture, the Satan would be cast into the everlasting lake of fire. Found in Revelation 20 verse 10, where the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire, where the beast in the False Prophet are and shall be tormented day and night, forever and ever. Then we learn, of course, that St. Zangel’s are cast in after Satan, and then all the dead of the human race are brought up out of Hades, a place of where they’re being held in anticipation of this.
They’ll be judged at the Great White-Turn Judgment, assigned a degree of punishment according to their works, and then they’ll also be cast into hell. As far as angels and us who are saints, we are higher than the angels the Bible tells us that we have actually been made to be God’s sons or daughters. It says in 1 John chapter 3, and I love this verse, this is Beloved, what manner of love the Father had bestowed upon us that we should be called as sons of God.
And Hebrews 1 5, it tells us God never called an angel his son. So angels do God’s bidding, but God never called an angel his son, but we actually become sons and daughters in God’s family by the new birth when we trust Christ. I hope that answers all of your questions and thank you so much. We have Tony in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Tony, welcome to Bibleline your own the air. Yes, this is me, I’m calling.
That at all. Okay, I was talking to a buddy of mine about a Revelation 5th, 3rd chapter, verse 5. And he had used this in as you could lose your salvation and discontained to Revelation 22, 18 and 19. If you tell me a little bit about that? The verse in Revelation 3.5 is a wonderful promise. It says to him that overcometh. Now you have to define terms and an overcomer is a believer. I remember as a new Christian reading the overcoming verses and thinking, boy, that’s not me, that’s somebody else.
I never realized that every believer is an overcomer. It says in 1 John chapter 5, and I would recommend you write this down, but 1 John 5 4 says, for whatsoever is born of God, overcome with the world, and this is the victory that overcome with the world, even our faith. And then verse 5 says, who is he that overcome with the world? Answer, he that believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. So when you become a believer, you become an overcomer by virtue of Christ overcoming On our behalf, He overcame the penalty of sin and death.
He overcame the grave. And He came back from the dead. He’s alive forevermore. He paid our sin debt in full by his death at the cross. So who is He that overcometh the world? Answer 1 John 5, 5. He that believeth that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. So in Revelation 3, 5, it says if you’re an overcomer, several things will happen. Number one, He’s going to clothe you in white raiment. That speaks of the righteousness that the believer is clothed with.
Right now we’re clothed with filthy rags. The Bible says our best works, our righteous acts, our filthy rags and guides sight. Isaiah 64-6. But we find that when you trust Christ we receive a garment of salvation, a robe of righteousness, according to Isaiah 61 verse 10. And so as a believer we’re seen by God as righteous. Secondly, he makes a promise that I will not blot out your name out of the book of life. So in other words, everybody’s name is in the book of life from the beginning because Christ died for everyone and potentially everyone can go to heaven.
We’re usually taught backwards on this. Most people think your name is written down in the book of life when you accept Christ. That’s not true. Everybody’s name is in there. If you die as an unbeliever at death, your name is stricken from the book of life. But if you become a believer during your lifetime, at the moment you believe God makes the promise to you, Revelation 3.5, I will not blot out his name out of the book of life.
So once you become a believer, your name never comes out of the book of life. So that’s the wonderful promise. Now in Revelation 22, 18 and 19 that you made reference to, there it talks about unbelievers. That’s the final invitation of the Bible. And it’s saying that if you add to or take away from the message of the Bible concerning Jesus Christ that you will not be saved and what will happen, your name will be taken out of the book.
Because again, everybody’s name is in the book to begin with. And if you die, having perverted the message of the Bible and not accepting the Jesus of the Bible and what he accomplished for you at the cross as the only means of your salvation when you die your name’s taken out of the book and you’ll be cast into the lake of fire. So I hope that helps. Can you read here? I’m right here. Okay, I heard Hank Haney Graham and I’d be a freak-hate haney Graham.
He was talking about a sex thief. And I had to myself, I had said, there’s no such thing as that. It either you save or you ain’t saved. He said some of us have like a sex thief. I don’t understand what is it, Kenneth Hayes? Hank Haneckinagra, he has said some of us have a step safe. It’s not a gender rancher. And I said, that’s not bibberal. No, it isn’t. I don’t think that. You either believe her or not in the Bible divides the whole world into believers and unbelievers.
So if you’ve trusted Christ, you’re safe forever and you’re stuck. You have to have one of your life in a knot. Yeah. So I would disagree with Hank Haneckinagra if on that. Yes, thank you. Thank you so much. No problem Tony. Okay, I’m 100% on that there. I believe everybody’s name is written in the city with non-suppares. But if you… That without accepting the Lord your name is glotted out. Absolutely. Well, thank you Tony. That’s Tony in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Calling in and we’re on every day up there in Pittsburgh.
We’re excited about that and we now have Paul in St. John’sville, New York and Paul Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Well, hello Dr. Lindstrom I have a brother-in-law who either has a cross or a crucifixor is he want and he has questions about the four letters that are above that The top of the cross there’s four letters you want to know what they meant I Believe it just is the inscription of Jesus Christ is the king of the Jews king of the Jews That’s what I told but I just wanted to find out from you because I wanted to be 100% accurate I want to make sure he doesn’t get any wrong information.
Thank you Paul. Okay, thank you very much. Alright, Paul up in St. John’sville, New York calling in. We have Benjamin from Clearwater and Benjamin, welcome to Bibleline Year on the Year. It is amazing today that the blessed hope, the return of Christ and the raptures being robbed from us. many of our teachings, people are left confused. We need to know what the Bible says and how to defend it.
It basically will come down to how do you interpret the Bible and methods of interpretation. What is the correct way to approach the Bible? I think you’re going to find it a very fascinating study as we will really be looking at the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation. It’s ten hours of teaching. They’re going to be available on CD or DVD. If you’re not in the area where you cannot come out and sit in the class, you can sign up over the telephone to take it on the internet.

767-371, where you have Linda in Tampa, Florida and Linda. Welcome to the Bible and you’re on the air. Hello. Hi, Linda. Hi. I wanted to ask a question referenced clergy. I think my boyfriend is confused about what it takes to be called part of the clergy. So I was under the impression that you had to be in a church, a member of a particular church, and that within that church you are ordained you can become clergy. So would you explain it to me because I have gone online and I’ve been reading in the Bible and he and I don’t seem to be able to come to a conclusion as to why he should not have clergy on the front of his truck?
Okay. Well, generally somebody who’s a clergyman is somebody that has been ordained and usually ordained by a particular church denomination and have been examined. They have some types of credentials, their education, and they have experience. And usually a body of men will have different requirements that must be met. And then finally, they are ordained. Basically, when you read about ordination in the New Testament, it was that a person who had the skills and had the training was selected out and pointed out to be an elder or deacon or a pastor.
And the same is pretty much true today. So just to grab that title for yourself, I think would not be correct. But it is true that every believer is certainly ordained of God to share the gospel with other people and we can all tell people about Christ. But not everybody is actually in the ministry and derives their livelihood from preaching the gospel of Christ. So you’re absolutely right and I think he would be wrong in this case to have clergy on is a bumper when he’s not pastoring a church or is not ordained as a minister.
Okay, help me out with this part because you say the church. That’s where we get into an argument because the way you and I are saying in a church in ordained is the institution may i got established where there is a minister and he is the ship and he said that he is a member of the church meaning you know the entire christian body that church not you know what i mean or any other named church this is true if he’s a believer but but who has recognized him as being a pastor leader or i was ordained by god Well, that’s not the same thing.
That’s the non-selling hymn. So that would be wrong. He is ordained of God as we all are. John’s Gospel, chapter 15, verse 16 says that we have been chosen and ordained to go and bring forth fruit. But that is it means that God has to gaze. John 15, 16 says that we’ve been ordained to go and bring forth fruit. And that’s true for every believer. But not every believer is a pastor. or a shepherd or a clergyman. Okay, and in order to be a clergyman, where in the Bible does this say you have to be in a structured church?
Well, the requirements, and I’ll just give you these so you can read them for yourself, but in first Timothy chapter three it lays out the twenty requirements for a leader and also in Titus chapter one. So if you read those two chapters, you’ll have it all laid out. Hi, this is chapter one. Right. And first Timothy chapter three. Thank you, Linda. Thank you very much. All right, and some are self-proclaimed and obviously it’s not the same thing. Every believer is certainly out of witness.
Every believer ought to live for Christ. Every believer ought to bring forth fruit, which I believe is winning souls to Christ, but not every believer is a pastor, elder, or a teacher, and not all have preparedness. themselves and been recognized for their accomplishments and been ordained into the ministry. We have Brad in Clearwater, Florida. Brad, welcome to my morning. Good morning, Pastor Lynch. I just wanted to call and say, I appreciate your call and your response that you had on the call that I called in at 1020 on the overcoming.
A long time ago I used to listen to this song called Stand Up, Stand Up for Jesus. I always thought that the person who overcome it was the one who turned and walked away from something that wasn’t right. I guess we get that false impression off of people. They’re at work and it’s their last piece of somebody that doesn’t appreciate the place of business and trash it before they leave. I just want to call and share that with you.
Okay, thank you Brad. Okay, sure thing. Alright, that was Brad in Clearwater. And an overcomer is a believer. 1 John 5 5. Who is he that overcometh the world? Answer he to believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Grace in Sun City Center, Florida here calls in, says, You say not to pray to the dead, but can we pray for the dead? And the answer is no. You can’t do one thing to help the dead. None of the Mormons teach that you can pray for the dead.
And they have genealogical records so that you can pray for all of your dead relatives and so on. This will not help them and you can’t help them once a person has died without Christ or forever lost. And so we’re not only not to pray to the dead, but not to pray for the dead. It is scripturally wrong. Grace also asks about Revelation chapter 12 and in verse 7 in particular. So I’m going to turn there and take a look.
In Revelation 12, 7 it says there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against Satan or the dragon and the dragon and his angels. That battle hasn’t happened yet. That’ll happen dead center in the middle of the tribulation period, three and a half years after the Rapture. There will be war over the atmosphere around the planet, and Satan will lose control of the atmosphere around the earth and be confined to the surface of the earth. Right now, he’s called according to Ephesians 2, 2, the prince of the power of the year.
So obviously the way is being prepared after the Rapture during the tribulation period for Christ to come back and take over the planet from Satan who right now is called the God of this world 2 Corinthians 4. So the first thing you do when taking on enemies you got to take care of the airspace first. In modern wars that’s the first thing that they do. try to take out the airports and pick out the planes of the enemy so they can control the air.
We did that in Iraq and both goings into Iraq. We took out the missiles. We took out the runways. We took out the planes and so that we control the air space. And so the same is true. The atmosphere around the earth is under control of Satan right now. And so So the first thing that Jesus does is takes out the control of the atmosphere around the earth. So Michael fights against Satan and his angels and they lose. That is Satan and his angels lose and Satan is cast onto the surface and he is mad as a hornet and the last three and a half years of the tribulation become the most intense.
Thank you. Thank you very much for your call grace from the Sun City Center. We have Jerry in the land, Florida, calling in and Jerry, welcome to Bibleline your own here. Yes, sir. I was just wanting to hear what’s found on behalf of the New Testament, that communion should be done in the church in all of your feet. Okay. We’ll try to answer that. You know, it doesn’t tell us. It says in 1st Corinthians 11, as often as you do this, that is the Lord’s Supper, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
So it uses that phrase, I think, twice in that one chapter, 1st Corinthians 11, which is the most definitive chapter on the Lord’s Supper, and it says as often as you do it. It appears from the book of Acts that the early Christians did it every week. But it is not anywhere stated in Scripture how often. Now, our church has chosen to do it once a month. So the church I pastor, Calvary Community Church, we do it once a month on the first Sunday of the month prior to our morning worship.
And that’s simply a matter of choice, and apparently we can choose. We did that simply because we didn’t want to become just a ritual. And I think sometimes people just do it as a ritual and lose the communion part, the constitutionally with the Lord, the time of just talking to Him and being reminded of what He did for us and the greatness of His love and the greatness of His sacrifice at Calvary. So if times get worse in this country before the Lord comes back, I believe we’ll probably opt to do it more often.
Some churches do it quarterly or biannually and I think that’s just too long a period to wait. But the Bible doesn’t tell us that we have to have it weekly or daily or monthly. It says as often as you do this. But I don’t think you ought to put it off too long. And I think churches that don’t observe the Lord’s Supper are delinquent. As Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 11 and the 1st 2 verses that we are to keep the ordinances and they are to, I believe, the Lord’s Supper and water baptism, water baptism being done once.
the fact that you’re that you’re washed of your sin only once by the blood of Christ. And the second Lord Supper which has to do with our walk and our fellowship, our communion with the Lord, and that should be done regularly, but it doesn’t tell us how often. I hope that helps. Thank you for that call from Dylan, Florida. We have here David in St. Petersburg calls in with an offer question. He says, if God calls for us to be humble, not to be jealous, then why do we have to worship God?
And why does it say that God is a jealous God? Well, again, God is a jealous God in that he doesn’t want us to worship any other God. He wants us to be loyal to him. And we don’t worship God because we have to, but hopefully because we recognize who He is in our relationship to Him. That obviously we have become benefactors from a wonderful, wonderful God who loved us and gave His life for us so that we could be eternally His.
And we owe our lives to Him and we ought to worship Him and praise Him and thank Him every day for what he’s done for us. Tim in West Jefferson, Ohio calls in, leaves this offer question. He says, I’ve been witnessing to a young Mormon convert and need help. What Bible verses can help? Thank you. Well, I would recommend the book we have called Handbook to Personal Evangelism. It has not only a chapter on what to say and talk about when you’re talking to a Mormon, but also the basic essentials that every Christian needs to have to be strong and effective so that you can witness and share the gospel with somebody else.
But basically, if he is a convert to Christianity, I don’t know if you mean by a young Mormon convert, whether he just became a Mormon or not, I think you need to let him know that The Book of Mormon is contrary to the Bible, contradicts the Bible and is obviously wrong. The Mormons teach works, keeping commandments, water baptism essential for salvation. You need to point out thatruary salvation is not of works.anguage is Ephesians 2, 8, 9. Romans 4, 5.
And numerous other verses that if you get this handbook on evangelism it will help you. If he is not saved yet then you need to concentrate on who Christ is because the Christ of Mormonism is not the Christ of the Bible and that salvation is not by works as the Mormons believe in works. We have Jerome in Hopewell, Virginia and he calls in off-air and leaves this question, Salvation is a free gift but isn’t obedience required? And then it says here for blessing question mark.
Salvation is a free gift, doesn’t require us to do anything but receive it. So when you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, the Bible says you’re saved. Well, that means you trust Him as your Savior. But then to be a disciple or servant of Christ and earn rewards and have blessings, we need to be obedient. But if we did nothing in our entire life for Christ, once we were saved, we’d still be saved. Give you a great verse to look up.
First Corinthians chapter 3 verse 15 says, at the judgment seat of Christ where believers will be examined and their works will be judged. It says, if any man’s works shall be burned, he shall suffer loss. It’s loss of reward, but it goes on to say, but he himself shall be saved, yet so has by fire. So even if you did nothing in your entire life worthy of reward. You’d still be saved. If your works are burned up, you will suffer loss of reward, but you’ll still be saved, the Bible says.
So our works have nothing to do with our salvation, but everything to do with the degree of reward will receive in heaven. Mike in Brandon, Florida calls in, was it customary to add spices to a body three days after it was buried, no, it was not. And they did that in the case of Christ. They were coming to add the spices because the burial was so hurried. He died at three, had to be in the grave by six on the afternoon of the Passover beginning at 6 p.m.
And they didn’t have much time to do it right. So they were coming to finish the hurried burial. And it It was not customary to do that. Thank you Mike for that question. Paul in Sarasota calls in and says, Offair, where in the Bible does it say that the tribulation will be seven years? Well, one of the key passages is Daniel chapter nine, verse 27, Daniel nine, 27. It talks about a 70th week of years, seven years, that would be the final seven years to complete all of the prophecies related to the Messiah.
Daniel was told in Daniel 924 that 70 weeks of years or 490 years would fulfill all prophecy. Part was fulfilled at the end of 69 weeks of years or 483 years, and it tells you when to start counting. When the commandment was given to rebuild Jerusalem, they were to start counting. start counting, and 483 years later Christ would die. The clock stopped ticking because Christ was rejected by the Jewish nation, and for 2000 years God has turned to us gentiles.
But once the rapture happens, the last seven years, the 70th week of Daniel will tick off the clock, and then Christ will come back, and all of the prophecies concerning Christ will be fulfilled. So half of them have been fulfilled in his first coming, the other half will be fulfilled in his second coming, and they will be fulfilled at the end of that seven years of tribulation, and Daniel 927 is a great verse to get you started. We have Janine in Tampa, Florida, says, explain First Timothy 212 and relationship to women teaching in Well, obviously the Bible is talking about women teaching Scripture and that is the Bible in usurping authority over men.
In Titus it tells us that women should be teachers of good things and they should, the older women should teach the younger women to be chased, to be keepers at home, to love children, and other husbands, and things like that. But it’s in Timothy that you’re referring to it refers to the Word of God. Alright, we have a little bit of time left if you want to call us 1-800-576-3771. Darryl in New York calls in and says how was humanity started?
Well without him an Eve. Then it says here who was Cain’s wife? Well, it was one of his sisters. At the time of the murder, Cain was already married and when he was vanished and went to the land of Nod, he took his wife with him. And there it says he knew his wife. That speaks of a sexual relationship with her. and the result if you read the verse carefully she conceives. So they had children there in the land of Nod where he was banished, but Cain was married.
Obviously, Adam and Eve were the most perfectly created humans that have ever been on the planet. There was no gene defects, there was no problem with inner marriage. It wasn’t until Moses came along that God said it would not be wrong to have marriage of sisters. Today, the human race is going even further downhill such that you don’t even have to marry a cousin or a sister that have birth defects. The chances are greater all the time because of man sin.
We’re headed downhill. Adam and Eve were perfect and there were no birth defects at the very beginning. We’re about out of time. I hope you’ve trusted Jesus as your Savior if you haven’t. You need to. You can do it right now and just tell the Lord, Lord, I’m a sinner, but I believe Jesus died and paid for my sins by his death at the cross, was buried and rose again from the dead. And God will save you the moment you do that.
