The work of salvation was finished on the cross by Jesus Christ himself (Hebrews 1:3). If we want to be saved, then we must believe that Jesus Christ finished the work of salvation on the cross, and receive it as God’s free gift (Romans 6:23).

We’re gonna go through the scriptures now for a moment, and then we’ll come back and take our callers. You can call us again at 1-800-576-3. Did Peter teach the same gospel that we find Paul taught or that Jesus taught? The answer is a resounding yes. In fact, let me just begin with John the Baptist. He is the last of the Old Testament prophets. I want you to see what John the Baptist said. In John chapter 3, in verse 36, we have the words of John the Baptist.
No wonder Jesus said he was the greatest of the prophets. That’s John chapter 3 verse 36. Jesus here, John to Baptist is quoted and he says, He that believeth on the sun has everlasting life. He that believeth not the sun shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him. Pretty clear isn’t it? John is saying there are two groups, John the Baptist says there are two groups that believe on the Son of God and they have, presently, everlasting life and then there is the other group that believe not on the Son and the Bible says they will not see life but the wrath of God abideth on them.
John the Baptist made it ultra clear, either you trust Christ or you don’t trust Christ, either you are going to heaven or you are going to hell, either you are saved or you lost. Either you have life or you will not see life. Either you have God’s eternal life or you have the wrath of God abiding on you. John 3.36, what a great verse, that’s John the Baptist, the last of the Old Testament prophets. Then as we move along to see what Jesus had to say, Jesus said in John 5.24, verily I say unto you, he that heareth my word and believe of on him that sent me three things.
You have, present tense everlasting life, number two, you shall not come in the condemnation. Thirdly, you are passed from death unto life. And so obviously again, what a clear presentation. Christ says if you simply believe, the word believe really from the Greek means to trust, when you trust that Jesus Christ, buy His death in shed blood, paid your sin debt and full, three things happen. When you trusted He did that for you. You possess eternal life. You will never future come into condemnation.
It means really you will never go to hell. And thirdly, you are passed from death unto life. That’s the message of Christ. What did Peter have to say? Well, Peter, in one of the great, great verses in the book of Acts, Peter says in chapter 10 of Acts in verse 43 to Jesus or Yeshua from the Hebrew to Yeshua which in English the equivalent is Jesus give all the prophets witness he’s saying that every Old Testament prophet spoke about Jesus to him give all the prophets witness that through his name the name Yeshua which in English is Jesus by the way that occurs over 130 times in the Old Testament for those Those that try to say Jesus is not the Old Testament.
They’re certainly not reading the Bible that I’m reading. And Yeshua occurs over 130 times. And therefore Jesus is throughout the Old Testament. Every time the word Yeshua occurs you could put the English Jesus right there in the text. And here Peter says in Acts chapter 10 verse 43 to Yeshua or Jesus give all the prophets witness that through his name, whosoever believeth in him, that is the put their trust in him shall receive the remission of their sins.” Boy, you couldn’t get any clearer than that.
That sounds exactly what John the Baptist taught. That sounds like exactly what Jesus taught. And here Peter is right in line with that. In fact, in chapter 15, look at this wonderful statement by Peter. Peter says in Acts 1511. But we believe that through the grace, the grace meaning mercy on Meredith Faver, that we believe through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, we shall be saved. Wow! So Peter taught salvation by grace. Peter taught salvation by simply trusting Christ that whosoever believeth in Yeshua or Jesus shall receive the remission of sins.
And in chapter 15 verse 11 he goes on to say, We believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, we shall be saved. Did Paul come along with a different message? No. Let’s look over, if you will, at Ephesians 2, 8, and 9, where Paul, the apostle, writing to the believers in Ephesus, says, 4 by grace. Again, God’s grace is unmerited favor, His mercy. It says, by grace are you saved through faith? that none of yourselves is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast.
So salvation according to Paul is by grace, by mercy. Salvation according to Peter is by grace, by God’s mercy. We find that Jesus taught that it’s by grace or by mercy, that when you would simply trust in Him that you would be saved. He’d have eternal life, you’d never come into condemnation, but you’re passed from death and the life. John the Baptist taught the same message, John 3.36, he’d believe it on the Son has eternal life, he’d believe it not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him.
And so we find the Bible is in total harmony, totally agreement, which is what you would expect if God is the author of this wonderful book that he is. Have you trusted Christ as your Savior? My friend, if you haven’t, you need to because no one will enter heaven without Christ. We find that John the Baptist taught that, Jesus taught that, Paul taught that, Peter taught that, everybody taught it. The whole Bible is in harmony on this wonderful teaching that there’s only one way to heaven.
When Jesus said it so plainly in John 14, 6, He said, I am the way, I am the truth, I am the life, and no man can come to the Father but by me. You want to go to heaven? You have to trust Christ. There is no other way, and you have to simply trust that He died, and shed His blood to pay for your sins was buried and rose again from the dead when you trust Him, you become saved.
every believer is encouraged to make a second choice to serve the Lord and become a disciple of Christ. And that’s where rewards, that’s where blessings come in, that’s where every believer ought to be headed toward discipleship in becoming a servant, one who would serve the Lord all the days of his life. We’re going to go to the phone lines of Dr. Hank Lindstrom, this is Bibleline, we’re coming to you live from Tampa from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church.
And we look forward to meeting you someday. I hope you’ll come by and please write to us or come by or maybe take one of these classes by Internet that we have. And of course, watch our television programs and our worship services all for free on the Internet and also our radio programs can be heard daily. We’re going to go to Largo, Florida and we have Arlene patiently waiting. Arlene, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yes, good morning, Dr.
Lynch. Good morning. Yes, you sound different on the telephone. Well, what do you know? I know, but I’ve listened to you for many years now. Starting when you first had your one and a half hour program. Look at that. So, yes, I just love your program. But I do have a question for you, and I’d like to have a concrete answer on this, if I may. Do you know where in the Quran that actually says what does it actually say about those Christians?
Well, it really, the main thing is it attacks the gospel directly and it says that Jesus Christ is not the Son of God. He is not the Savior, that God or Allah never had a Son, which is true. Yes, I want to know where it is. Do you know where it is? We have a sheet somewhere here with those quotes in it. We also have a little booklet that you can get. I think it’s for a gift of $6.
It’s by John Anchenberg and it’s an excellent. It’s about 70-something pages and it really gives you those key passages and I used to quote the Quran. So that’s exactly what you needed. It shows you the contradictions in the Quran. It shows you the good quotes that you need to know to be able to point out the differences between the Bible and Islam. You can call a note of that. We can ship it to you if you’d like to call back and call our secretary here.
I will certainly do that and I thank you so much. Okay, I’ll leave. It was Arlene in Largo, Florida. And we are now going to go to Ralph in St. Petersburg. Ralph, welcome to Bible in St. Petersburg, Florida. Ralph, are you there? And I don’t hear Ralph, so I don’t know what happened. We’ll have to try to come back and get Ralph into the world. I don’t hear Ralph so I don’t know what happened. We’ll have to try to come back and get Ralph in just a minute.
So hopefully Ralph will call back. We have the phone line open right now. So if you want to call it’s 1-800-576-3771. We have an anonymous call from Tampa, Florida and the question is left off here. It says, How can you be sure that you are truly saved? Good one, good one, good one. I like the written guarantee. 1 John 513, Mr Anonymous says, These things God says, I have written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God.
So if you have trusted Jesus as your Savior, this verse is addressed to you. These things, 1 John 513, have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God that you may know K-N-O-W. It doesn’t say perhaps or maybe or you might guess so or think so or hope so. It says you can know so. So it says in 1 John 513, these things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God that you may know K-N-O-W, that you have, have as a present tense verb, You can know you have eternal life.
I saw that verse the night I got saved and I left that meeting knowing that I was going to heaven, knowing that I was saved. How did I know? Because God said so. Where in the Bible in 1 John 513? So 1 John 513 is the answer. I believe that there are many, many more verses that we could turn to, but we can know so because God said so. If God says it, then you believe it, that settles it.
God can’t lie. God will never break a promise. He’s going to deliver on whatever he promises. And so when you trust Jesus, Mr. Anonymous, you can know that you’re truly saved. 1 John 513. We now are going to Ralph in St. Petersburg. He is back. And so welcome Ralph to Bible Life. Good morning. Good morning. You know, I’m going back to the tragedy in Virginia. Okay. About that 76-year-old Jewish professor who sacrificed his life to save his 21 students.
Now, do you think that he’s going to go to heaven? I think, you know, we have a loving kind lord, regardless of his religious orientation. Don’t you think he would deserve to go to heaven? Well, you know, if you read the Bible, the Bible tells us that none of us deserved to go to heaven, that we’re all sinners and all condemned and all worthy of hell. And it’s only through God’s provision in Christ that we can enter heaven. Now I can’t say categorically that he never came to know Jesus as his Savior.
He may be a believer. There are secret believers. I was one for a whole year of my life. But my heart goes out to Jewish people. I’ve led many Jewish people to Christ because I believe the Scriptures are plain that unless you trust Christ, you cannot be saved. Whether you’re Gentile or Jewish and remember Jesus was a Jewish Savior and Jesus said, I am the way, the truth and the life. And no man cometh unto the Father but by me.
And all the disciples were Jewish and all the first Christians were Jewish. And they were amazed when Gentiles received this wonderful message and got saved. And now it’s gotten so reversed that we are sometimes shocked when we see a Jewish person get saved today. But it should be normal and we should be leading Jewish people to Christ. And I don’t keep the Lamb’s book of life so I don’t really know whether he went to Heaven or Hell, but we do know that you must, according to the Bible, trust Christ to be saved.
And we have to leave it with God’s Word as the authority and say that’s what the Bible says. Now I have another question. Okay. When you’re in heaven, do you wear clothing? Do you eat and drink? Good question. And again, I think we do. It says that we are going to be clothed with a robe of righteousness. Isaiah 61, 10. In other verses, so apparently we will be clothed. Secondly, about eating in the new Jerusalem described in Revelation chapter 21 and 22.
It tells us in chapter 22, there is the river of life that proceeds there from the throne of God and that will apparently get the drink of that water and also that we will get to eat of the tree of life that was in the garden and it’ll have twelve different kind of fruit on it. It’ll bloom and blossom. and bear fruit all year long. So apparently we’ll be able to, I guess, go down and sit by the river of life and reach up and pluck fruit off of the tree and eat and draw, enjoy a wonderful refreshing drink.
Apparently we might be able to take the leaves in a tree that’s implied and make a wonderful tea or a flavored drink. And so I think definitely We will eat and drink, but not to sustain life, but simply for enjoyment. We won’t have to worry about indigestion. We won’t have to worry about heartburn or anything like that. We’ll just be able to eat and enjoy and just enjoy eternity with the Lord. Thank you. Thank you very much. You’re welcome, Ralph, and God bless and thank you for calling in and thank you for listening.
We have James up in Pensacola, Florida, and James, welcome to Bibleline You’re on the air. Good morning, Dr. Ernst. Good morning. Hey, I’m getting 24. All right. I’ve always been a little bit confused about the Trinity. I hear so many people trying to describe it. They say there’s three gods and the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost are all equal power. And I’m just a little confused because if you read in 1 Corinthians 1524. He talks about the works that Jesus is completing and what all he’s going to finish, you know, and the mechanism to switch to on the last thing is taking the keys of death.
And then it says that he hands all authority back over to the Father who was never in subjection to him to start with. I’m going to hang up and I’ll just let you talk about it. Thank you James and certainly join the crowd because it is difficult first to First Timothy, 3 16 says, without controversy, great is the mystery of godliness that God was manifest in the flesh. So the Bible itself tells us that this is without controversy. This is a difficult doctrine for us to understand.
And obviously, because God is much greater than we, and we are finite and He is infinite. But apparently, God exists and has since eternity passed and will exist into eternity future as a triune or a trinity. God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, that’s clearly taught in Scripture. You see it even in Genesis 1-1, where it says, in the beginning, God, and the word for God there is the Hebrew word Elohim and the word is plural in Hebrew and in Hebrew plural means three or more.
In Hebrew they have words that are singular, they have words that are dual meaning two and then they have words that are plural which mean three or more. So you have really the Trinity implied in Genesis 1-1 in the beginning God a plurality Singularity creates the heavens and the earth verse 2 you have the Holy Spirit and the Spirit of God Moved upon the face of the waters and so on and then in verse 26 God Elohim a Plurality says let us create man in our image after our likeness So certainly you have again All members of the God had working in concert in the New Testament We certainly see that God is the Creator.
We have also Jesus Christ and Colossians spoken of as being the Creator. And we also have the Holy Spirit involved in the Creation. And so this is certainly what the Old Testament taught and now we get further light in the New Testament record. But we also have scriptures that make the claim that Jesus is God, the Holy Spirit is God, and that God the Father of course is the Eternal God. But what happened was that God took on flesh and we also have the man Jesus.
Now the second eternal member of the God had took on a body and we have a real man but he is sinless and at the same time he is God but he is a man and for all eternity we’re We’re going to see Jesus because you can’t see a spirit. John 424 tells us God is a spirit and that no man has seen God because he is a spirit, but we have seen God revealed In flesh. And so the Bible tells us that God revealed himself in the person of Jesus Christ.
But again, at the cross, it was the man Jesus that died because God can’t die. He’s eternal. And so God is eternal and cannot die. And so it was the man Jesus that died. And as you read the scriptures, you’ll notice as far as our salvation is concerned, it focuses in on the manhood of Christ, although he is God at the same time. time and tells us that Jesus the man, it says in Hebrews chapter 10 verse 11, this man, or verse 12, rather, this man after he had offered himself up, of course, came back in and has now seated at the right hand of the Father.
And it was this man, Jesus, that died and shed his blood. But yet at the same time being God, he could make an infinite payment to pay for the sins of the whole world. I hope that helps a little bit. We’re coming break so we’re going to have to take a break here and we’ll come back and do the second half hour of Bibleline and I hope you’ll stay tuned right where you are and listen to the second half.

What about Israel? What about the Rapture? What about the Tribulation? What about all these things? Is this really going to happen? Or is this something that somebody invented and this pawned off on Christianity today? We’re going to be talking about that and what the Bible says and how to rightly divide the Bible. I hope you’ll join me by way of internet by calling our 800 number and signing up for the class and getting the passcode so you’ll be able to enjoy.
Also when the classes are all over, these classes will be available on CV and also available on DVD so you can actually watch them wherever you go on your television or you can listen to them on your CD player or in your car wherever you might go. We’re excited about the Lord’s coming and we are by the way going to head back to Israel. We just got back from Israel, had a wonderful time. We’re talking about leaving on the end of the month of October, October 28th for a a Sunday afternoon and returning on April 10th, 14 days later Saturday and we’re going to find non-stop from Atlanta to Tel Aviv on Delta.
It’ll be a wonderful journey and if you’re interested, call us and get your name on our list. We’ll also go again in March and we will probably include Greece or maybe Petra, which is in in southern Jordan, this beautiful city carved out of the rock, 40 square miles of city where we believe the Jewish nation will flee the Antichrist and be hidden there in miraculously fed during that seven years of tribulation before Christ returns and sets up His kingdom with Israel being at the head of it.
We’re excited about all of it. I hope you’ll call us and leave us your number if you’re thinking about going to Israel. Also, if you haven’t given a gift to Bible and for the month of April would you consider doing that? You could do it by credit card over the phone or call us and we’ll send you an envelope with our address printed on it and you can mail your gift then to Bible and but it would sure help us if you could help us this month of April.
We’re about ready to rejoin those stations that have been on break and so stay tuned for Bible and Part 2. Would you like to call Bible and ask Dr. Lynch from a question? You can just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back from that break in. This is Bibleline and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church. And we are excited about being able to be with you today.
And thanks for tuning in and listening to the program. And by the way, we’re on the Internet 24-7 so you can go and listen to these programs again and again and again and again and enjoy them. thousands of people that are listening by way of internet. When we went to Israel just a couple of weeks ago, we met people in Nigeria that to our great surprise told us that they were listening to Bibleline on the internet in Nigeria in Africa.
I travel to Israel. They travel to Israel. We’re both seeing the wonderful sites in Israel. And here we come together, I think God put us together and get to hear that we’re able to minister to these people through Bible One. Guess what? A brand new door is opened up and we’re going to be going on shortwave and cover the entire continent of Africa. Not just Nigeria, but we’re talking about all of Africa and we’ll be on an hour a day in Africa.
Isn’t that exciting? I think the Lord is opening great doors of opportunity for us and we are excited about what God is doing and wants you to have a part in that. As you pray for Bibleline and as you give the Bible and you are a part of what Bibleline is accomplishing and I believe you are going to be rewarded with us who are actually a part of Bibleline here, actually producing the programs, you are going to be a part of it too because that is the way the Bible teaches it happens.
In Israel, ever in the Old Testament went out to war, there were people who had to stay home. They had to watch the animals and again watch the fields and care for the children and so on and so on. But you know when the army came home and if they had been victorious and they brought the spoils of the war back, they all shared equally. Isn’t that interesting? So those that are actually in the battle and those that stay behind to take care of the other needs are going to share equally.
And I believe that’s the case with us too, with you sharing the financial burden with us, helping us to stay on the air and reaching out. You’re going to be rewarded equally with us right here. I think that’s a wonderful concept and it is a biblical concept and I really believe it’s true. So I think that you’re going to really have wonderful benefits in heaven and it’s all about giving wisely. Somebody once said, do your giving while you’re living so you’re knowing where it’s going.
And that sure is smart. You ought to not anticipate something will happen after you die and you leave some money, but you’ll need to give while you’re living and give wisely to where something is really happening for God. We’re excited and if you want to help Bible end this month of April, you can send a gift by mail you can also give a gift by credit card over the phone and uh… if you would like to do it by mail and you need an envelope you can call us and we’ll be glad to send you an envelope with our dress already printed on it i hope you will do that and got what you think you’d advance we have a wonderful trip in israel and we’re going to go again at the end of october it’ll be a fourteen day trip leaving uh…
from at will and have course you will uh… include the departure from one other major airport you can get to but we’ll fly to Atlanta from Atlanta will fly nonstop on Delta to Israel and will be 14 days it’ll be a wonderful trip and I hope you’ll join me if not we’re gonna be going again in maybe March or April of next year and if you want to get your name on the list so that we’ll stay in touch with you if you’re interested we’ll be happy to Keep you posted and so I hope you will call in here and put your name on our Israel Prospect list that tells us you’re interested and it doesn’t obligate you to do a thing but just stay in touch with us.
We’re gonna hear the phone lines here. The phone number at Bibleline is 1-800-576-3771 and we have Charlene in Tampa, Florida and Charlene welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the Yes. Yes. Yeah. Yes. Yes. I’m not sure if you can believe that you are believing in Christ. Don’t you believe in Christ? You are saying that’s all you need to do. I think it often sends a message that as long as you believe that Christ exists, you can go ahead and you can just sin because you already anticipate that forgiveness and that’s what it does.
I really think it sends a wrong message. that you can’t work your way into heaven but I do believe that you can work your way out of heaven. I think if you believe in Christ you believe in what you stood for I’m believing is not for you to just continue to use which Romans addresses to some degree you know and I just think that sometimes people scholars are a little too user friendly for saying as long as you believe you’re in there.
What is your took for that? All right. Thank you, Charlene, for calling. You’re not the first person who’s come up with that. Once you trust Christ, what happens is something that’s irreversible. You become born again. You become a child of God’s family. And just as you cannot become unborn physically, nor can you become unborn spiritually. Plus God places his Holy Spirit in the believer. The Bible says the Holy Spirit will dwell us forever. So somehow you could work your way out of salvation.
He would wind up going to hell with the Holy Spirit going with you. That’s not going to happen. And of course, Christ indwells you forever. Christ says in Hebrews 13.5, I will never, never means never. I will never leave you Hebrews 13.5, which would mean Christ would go to hell for eternity if you could possibly lose it. Because once you trust Christ, He indwells you forever. He says, I will never leave you. Well, you know, when you preach the true gospel, this is the criticism that comes up.
Paul the Apostle had that criticism. Let me read to you Romans chapter 3 and verse 8 where we find Paul says, and not rather as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say, let us do evil that good may come, whose damn nation is just. What Paul is saying here is that there were people back then that said, hey, Paul is teaching that you can just trust Christ, And then you can go out and do evil and he says that was a slander against what he was saying You know what you trust Christ.
You can’t live as you please. Yes No matter what you do you’ll still go to heaven, but the Lord will spank you he’ll discipline you and If you read the Bible carefully the Bible tells us that God in many cases will take Christians home to heaven early So if you are attempting to live as you please with disregard to what the Bible says You might wind up in heaven soon and you’re planning on going 1 Corinthians 1130 says for this cause because the Corinthian believers were doing exactly what you’re saying.
He says, many of you are weak, many of you are sickly, and many of you are dead 1 Corinthians 1130. But then it talks about if we would only keep our lives in check, if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. But then verse 32 of 1 Corinthians 11 says, when we Christians, Charlene, are judged, We are chastened or disciplined of the Lord that we should not be condemned with the world. The world is going to hell, but we as believers are dealt with differently because we are members of the family.
We become born again. Secondly, we are all going to give an account one day at the judgment seat of Christ and some will suffer loss of reward for all eternity because they didn’t use their time wisely and live for Christ, and they lived for self, and it says in 1 Corinthians 3.15 that if your works abide after God tries or tests them by fire, that you’ll receive a reward. But verse 15 says in 1 Corinthians 3, if any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss.
It’s clearly loss of reward because it goes on to say, but he himself shall be be saved. Yet says the fire. So this man will still be saved even though he did zero or nothing for God. But he will suffer loss for all eternity because of his lack of service and living as he pleased. So the Bible very clearly is plain that once you become saved, you’re stuck. John 637 Christ said, him that cometh to me, I will in no wise cast out.
So he’s the one that keeps you saved and he’s not going to cast you out for any reason according to John 637. And then better than that is verse 39 where Jesus said, this is the Father’s will which has sent me that of all which have given me I should lose none. Not one would be lost. So once you’re saved, you’re saved forever, but you can’t live as you please, Charlie, because God will chase in you. Hope that helps.
Okay, fine. All right. And thank you, Charlene, for calling in. Good question. And a lot of people think this way, and Paul had the same problem, and I could cite other verses where Paul said, hey, people are saying the week and go out and live as we please. And he says, that’s a slander’s report. That is not true. That’s not what we’re going to do. That’s not what we’re teaching and you can’t let me as you please once you become safe.
We’re gonna go now to a Frank from old orchard be orchard beach in Maine But he’s visiting the area down here, and so we’re looking forward to talking to Frank and visiting here from Maine. Welcome to Bibleline hello Frank. Yes, you’re on the air Okay, you have a question If you’re listening to the radio, Frank, you’re going to really get confused. There’s a 20-second delay and I’m like near that radio in the background. Just talk to me on the phone.
Welcome. Dr. Lynch, I listen to you every day. Wonderful. Yes, my question is, I think you’re listening to the radio, Frank. You’re going to have to just forget that radio. Turn it down and talk directly to me on the telephone. Oh good. Okay, Frank, what’s the question? Dr. Lynch, my question is this. Okay? I’m a Christian. I believe in Jesus Christ. I read the Bible. Now, my question is this, Dr. Lynch, why is this so many parties all throughout creation?
It rained 40 days and 40 nights. Moses was 40 years old when he learned into the burning bush. Jesus won the desert for 40 years. Jesus showed up for 40 days after he rose from the dead and there’s all kinds of parties in the Bible. That’s my question, that’s my question, Dr. Lynchford. All right, very good. There’s a number of different numbers that reappear throughout the Bible and there is some meaning in all that, because the number 40, apparently is the number of testing.
the children were tested in the wilderness for 40 years. Jesus was fasted for 40 days and 40 nights and then was tested by Satan as he was tempted three times by the devil. So apparently 40 is the number of testing throughout the Bible and it just seems to work out that way every time so that we believe that that’s really what the meaning is. So I hope that helps a little bit. We have number one as the number of unity, number two as division, number three as the picture of the Trinity and so on and so on.
And there’s some books that have been written that are quite interesting about Bible numerology. I don’t get too heavy into that, but I think you’re very astute to pick that up, Frank, and we’re glad to have you visiting and listening to Bible Eye every day. We’re now going to Pastor Jimmy. And Pastor Jimmy is in Oldsmar. But maybe I have Vicki in Clearwater. It looks like I’ve had a call drop off here. So maybe I have Vicki. Vicki, welcome to Bible One.
Who do I have Vicki? I don’t know who I have. Sameingly here we’ve got a problem with the phones here. Anyway, this is Bible One. My name is Dr. Angel Instruments. We’re coming to you live from Tampa. We’re headed back to Israel. We’re excited about that. And we’re apparently going to take two trips, one in October, one again in March or April. We’d have to have you go. We are going to fly in the October of 14 day trip.
We’ll stay in wonderful hotels, your hotels, your meals, everything’s included in the price. We’re going to fly nonstop from Atlanta on Delta to Tel Aviv and come back on Delta. non-stop, and that’ll be really nice. I think to save time in not going to any other stops along the way as we did on our last trip. So, we’ll have a great time. It’ll be trip number 15 for me. We’re going to certainly have a great time, and it’ll be a teaching tour, and we’ll be teaching the Bible every day, and you’ll really, I think, have a great time.
We’ll also probably do our radio shows again from Israel. We’ll also probably do a lot of filming for our TV programs while we’re in Israel and you’ll be a part of that. So I think you’ll be greatly benefited. I hope you’ll go and if you’ll put your name on our Prospect list if you’ll call in and say hey, I’m interested We’ll kind of keep you informed and if you can go that’ll be great if you can’t we understand But if you don’t go this fall you could probably go with us this coming spring and then We’ll probably add some other Sites like Greece and maybe even Petra in southern Jordan We’re talking about it now as to where we’ll go.
But we’re right now going to go to Vicki in Clearwater and Vicki, welcome to Bibleline Your On The Air. Thank you. My name is Vicki from Clearwater. I was on the line and I got cut off, but now I’m back on again. I hear you. I have a call about tithing. Okay. Like in Malachi, 3, 10 and 11. Sure. say if that pertains to us today and what is the amount of tithing? Okay, tithing was 10% and that in the Old Testament was under the law and it was an obligation under the Old Testament law for them to give that tithe.
In the New Testament we’re not under the law, we’re under grace and so we now just give directly from the heart and somebody once said though and it’s a good point should we give less under grace than we gave under law and so I think it’s a good place to start giving and it’s 10 percent but again you need to make a choice. It says in Corinthians 2 Corinthians 9 let every man purpose in his heart and then and so let him give.
So you have to make it the liberty decision in your mind as to what you’re going to give and then give it it says not because of the necessity or give it grudgingly but God loves a cheerful giver. The word cheerful from the Greek means hilarious. Somebody is giving because they just want to. It’s compelling to them to give and it’s because they want to invest in the things of the Lord and because they love the Lord, but we’re not under the Old Testament ties.
So those verses of Malachi are all about Old Testament giving. I would read 2 Corinthians chapter 8 and chapter 9, which have a lot of good advice about New Testament giving. Okay, and giving can be more than money. It can be other things connected with the ties. I believe it’s the three T’s I call them time and talents and treasure so you can give up your time you can give up your talents and you can give up your treasure your financial blessing so absolutely you said that talent time talent and treasure what what’s the first one time your T.I.M.E.
and give your time right talents and treasure there you go the three keys. So that can be all intermingled into the word type. I think so. Thank you. You’re very welcome, Vicki, and thank you for calling. And we now have Vinnie in Hudson, Florida. Vinnie, welcome to Bibleline You’re on the air. Hey, Dr. Lindstrom, good to talk to you again. I was speaking with a fellow believer and a question came up. It’s kind of interesting. I’m wondering what your take on it would be.
We know we get our resurrection bodies and they’re going to be similar to Christ in appearance and age, correct? I believe so, yes. Okay. The question that came up is, will we have scars on our bodies and we use the reference of Christ’s nail prints in his hands and feet and the spear. So we’re just wondering about that. I’ll listen on the end. God bless you and keep up the good work. Okay. don’t believe we’ll have any scars. I believe our bodies will be perfect.
Job talks about in Job chapter 33 about our flesh being fresher than a baby’s. And so we’ll have wonderful complexion, wonderful skin, texture, and we’ll have bodies that will not get sick, that will never experience pain or sorrow or tears or death. So it’s going to be wonderful, but No, I don’t believe we’ll have any scars. Christ is going to keep those wounds as a reminder to us for eternity of His love and how He died for us at the cross.
We have a number of offer questions. I need to grab some of these. We’ll never get out of the hole here. But we have Ishmael from Lutz for, they’re calling in and he leaves this question off Eric, battling with his son who is studying with the Jehovah’s Witnesses and they claim that Jesus is not God. Please help me. That is really true and it’s sad because the witnesses are not saved as a result. If you look at 1 John, here’s a couple of verses you might want to write down.
1 John 2, that’s chapter 2 of 1 John, not regular John, but at the interview Bible you have 1 John 2 John and 3 John 3, Epistles of John. And in 1 John 2, it says in verse 23, Who’s Whoever Denies the Son? Now that’s the Jehovah’s Witnesses for sure. It says in verse 23, Who’s Whoever Denies the Son, the same half out the Father? So if the Witnesses deny the Son, they don’t have the Father and the Father of course is Jehovah.
So can you imagine Jehovah’s Witnesses without Jehovah? That’s a problem, isn’t it? And that’s not the only verse. By the way, let me just finish the verse It says but he that acknowledges the Son, he has the Father also. Let me go with you now to 2nd John I hope you’ll write these down. Second John verse 9 says, Whosoever transgresseth them, that’s everyone. And abideeth not in the doctrine of Christ, that’s one group is the Jehovah’s Witnesses that would fit that.
They do not abide in the doctrine of Christ. It says here in my Bible in second John verse 9, they don’t have God. It says, half not God. So not only are the Jehovah’s Witnesses Jehovahless without Jehovah, but they’re with Godless. They don’t have God. So when they come to your door and say, you don’t have God, you don’t have Jehovah, you’re just witnesses but not witnesses for Jehovah, because you don’t have Jehovah, nor do you have God. But if you read the rest of 2nd John verse 9, it says, he did a bidet in the doctrine of of Christ, he has both the Father and the Son.
And then there’s a warning that if any come to you and they don’t bring this doctrine of Christ, then you not to receive Him into your fellowship at all but you’re to exclude Him. You don’t want to be a partaker of their evil doctrine. This is obviously a major error in the teachings of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. They deny the deity of Christ. And Jesus obviously according to the Bible is God who took on a human body. Ishmael, I hope that helps you.
I hope you can reach your son. But you have to be a little bit strong. I believe in pointing out that the witnesses don’t have Jehovah nor do they have God. They are absolutely wrong and absolutely lost. And my heart goes out because they need to know the Lord is their Savior. In Lansing, Michigan, we’re on up there every day in Lansing. And she writes in and asks a question about 1 Corinthians 1529. And this is a verse that has puzzled people.
It’s really partly because of the King James translation. Let me read it to you. It says, else, what shall they do, which were our baptized for the dead? If the dead rise, not at all. are they then baptized for the dead? Well, of course the Mormons and others practice baptism for dead people. And this is a little craziness. But if you have a Scofield, this is why I recommend the Scofield, we have it in our Resource Center. It’s so good.
It says in the margin here, that is through the introductory right of baptism, are taking the places in the ranks left vacant by Christians who have died. So what it’s saying is why do we continue to baptize people? Why do we introduce people to Christ and baptize them if there’s no resurrection? Why are we baptizing more people when those that have already believed on Christ aren’t going to rise from the dead if there’s no resurrection? So it’s really saying that our whole Christian life and our efforts to win people to Christ and then and baptize them in the name of Christ are feudal efforts here to carry out the practice of Christianity if there is no resurrection.
We have Mary Lynn in the Canexville, Virginia and she’s also asking about the Joel’s Witnesses. She says, how do you respond to a Joel’s Witness? Any specific scripture you recommend? And of course I like the ones I just shared with you as I shared with this other fellow. I like also 8 John, John, another chapter 8 verse 24 where Jesus said, usual die in your sins for if you believe not that I am, that phrase I am is God’s name as he appeared to Moses at the burning bush.
Jesus is claiming to be God. And he says, unless you recognize that I am God, you’re going to die in your sins, which means that you’re going to die accountable for your sins and you’ll wind up going to hell. We have no more time and I have dozens of questions left. We’re going to have to leave it right at that.
