Bibleline Radio Show – 2007-04-30 – Easy Believism

What is “Easy Believism”? Usually the phrase “easy-believism” is a slam against those who teach that salvation is not by human works, but by faith in Jesus Christ alone. It is clear from the Scriptures that salvation is received by faith only in the finished work of Jesus Christ.

We’re going to open our Bibles today to 1 Corinthians chapter 11 and in verse 3 we have a most remarkable verse.

You know, when you give out the true gospel there are two objections that always come up. One of the first is That’s too simple. That’s too simple. And I remember when I first began to witness that bothered me when people would tell me that. But you know, I’ve changed my mind because the Bible says it is indeed simple and it’s the fact that it’s simple that Satan uses to prevent people from trusting Christ. Let me read to you 2 Corinthians 11-3 where here it says, but I fear, lest by any means as the serpent that was Satan begowed Eve that’s Mrs.

Adam that was back in the garden by the way through his subtlety. I fear, lest by any means as a serpent be called Eve through his subtlety, so your mind should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. This message is simple. And when I hear somebody say, well, that’s just too simple. It’s got to be more to it than that. I realize, wow, they’re understanding what I’m presenting to them. In fact, I usually kind of reach around and pat myself on the back and say, hey, you’re communicating.

Because if they tell me it’s too simple, they’re understanding what I’m saying at least. They may not believe it and they may stumble over the fact that it’s simple, but it is simple. And you know what the Bible says, especially like the Jewish people, it says they would stumble over the stumbling block. The stumbling block being Christ. In other words, the fact that it was so simple that Jesus paid the full payment for sin. And when we simply trust Him as our Savior, God saves us and saves us eternally.

It’s so simple that people just kind of trip over it and miss it and the devil is good at using that tool to prevent you from trusting Christ and Savior. So in any case, it is simple. And so don’t let that bother you. When you tell somebody that, yes, Jesus did it all. Yes, Jesus is God who took an onion flesh. Jesus went to the cross that He paid for every sin you would ever commit past present and future.

Yes, Jesus was buried. Yes, He came back from the dead. He’s alive forevermore. And when you trust in His substitutionary death, God gives you the gift of eternal life. It’s completely free. There’s nothing else required. And people say, well, that’s too simple. It’s got to be more. But you know, it is simple. The Bible tells us here in 2nd Corinthians 11 I fear, lest by any means as the serpent begowed Eve through his subtly so your mind should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

My friend, the message is simple, and so don’t let that prevent you from coming to know Christ as your Savior. It’s all paid for. You simply receive it by trusting Christ. The second objection that I hear so often is, oh, that would mean you could live as you please. And that is nothing new. Paul the Apostle had to contend with that as well. Because again, that’s one of the objections that seems to naturally come up. And if you tell somebody they’re saved, it’s a gift.

They receive it the moment they believe and they’re safe forever and they can’t lose it. People naturally conclude sometimes. Well, that would mean that you could go out and live as you please and you’ll still go to heaven. And, well, it’s true you could do anything and still go to heaven and not be lost, but there are consequences and you can’t really live as you please without God interfering. But look at what it says in Romans chapter 3 and verse 8.

Paul here experienced the same problem, the same objection. It says, and not rather, Romans 3, 8. As we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say, let us do evil that good may come, whose damn nation is just. Well, Paul says, people are slandering me. They’re saying that I’m telling people that they can go out and live as they please. And when Paul wasn’t telling them that, he was telling them, yes, you’re safe forever. You can’t be lost.

You are eternally safe, wouldn’t you, trust Christ and Savior, but there are consequences. If you are delinquent as a believer, God says he will thank you. I love Hebrews 12, and I think if you would write this down, you’ll be glad you did. Hebrews 12, verse 6, it says, for whom the Lord loves, he chases the modern word would be disciplines, and scourges every son whom he receives. So when you experience the new birth, when you receive as a son in the God’s family, when you trust Jesus Christ as your Savior, from that moment on God says that He disciplines His children.

Verse 8 says, and this is powerful, Hebrews 12, 8 says, and if you be without chastisement or discipline, where of all, that is all that becomes saved, are partakers of this discipline, it says you’re a bastard. Pretty strong word in the King James. You’re a bastard and not a son. What does that mean? It’s saying you’re illegitimately claiming that you’re a child of God when you’re not. Because if you are genuinely saved, God is going to discipline you. You cannot live as you please.

God is going to interfere. Just like a parent will interfere and discipline their child, God, as your Heavenly Father, will discipline you if you are going to be delinquent as a believer. You can’t live as you please. You are saved forever. You can’t be lost, but there are consequences. And the Bible here tells us in verse 11, no discipline for the present seems to be joyous, but grievous. Well, that’s pretty straightforward, isn’t it? I don’t remember. ever being disciplined by my dad and saying, boy, that’s wonderful.

I’m enjoying this. Let’s do it more often. Let me invite my friends over. Let’s have take an ice cream and celebrate when I get disciplined. Of course not. That was an embarrassing thing. You didn’t want anybody else to know and you wanted it to be more of a private matter. And it wasn’t a joyous occasion at all, but it was grievous. That’s what the verse is saying here. In Hebrews 1211 it says, Now no discipline or chastening for the present, seem it to be joyous, but it’s grievous.

Nevertheless, here’s the part you need to read. Nevertheless, nevertheless, nevertheless afterward it yielded the peaceable fruit of what? Righteousness. It doesn’t lead to a life of sin. The fact that you’re saved by grace, that it’s not of yourself, it’s the gift of God, it’s not of works. The fact that you don’t have to do anything and the fact that you’re safe forever to get based upon what Christ did for you. It doesn’t lead to a life of sin. It says here because God chases or disciplines His children.

No chasing for the present seems to be joys. Hebrews 1211. But Greek is nevertheless afterward, afterward, afterward, at yield of the peaceful fruit of righteous living unto them which are exercised thereby. Now, if you’re not exercised thereby, in other words, if God doesn’t discipline you, the Bible People are saying here quite clearly in verse 8 of Hebrews 12, you are a bastard, you are not a son, you are not a child of God. You are roaming around claiming that you are, but if you get away with living as you please, my friend you are not saved.

The Bible says once you become saved God is going to interfere in your life. He might even take you home to heaven early. 1 Corinthians 1130, the Corinthian believers experienced that and he says because of their delinquency. God says for this cause in 1 Corinthians 1130, for this cause many of you are weak, many of you are sickly, and many of you are dead. That’s right. The Lord took a lot of the Corinthians believers home to heaven early. So when you give out the true gospel that Jesus paid it all, we simply receive it as a gift, and we’re saved forever at the moment we trust Christ.

We can never be lost no matter what we do. The two objections are, that’s too simple. And we just said the answer is there in 2 Corinthians 11-3 that Paul here writes and says he’s worried I fear less by any means as the serpent Satan begowed Eve through his subtlety back in the garden that your mind should be corrupted from the simplicity that’s in Christ. It is simple and you might as well get used to it. It’s a simple message.

And I find that truth really always generally comes out simple. I graduated in electrical engineering. I found that the basic formulas for the universe and for science in general and for formulas relating electric electricity are all simple. Very simple. E is equal to M C squared. The most profound equation of our time Einstein said that energy and matter are equitable, E is equal to Mc squared. Very simple form. It’s not walls and walls of writing on the board. It’s a very simple formula that just expresses the relationship between matter and energy.

Amazing. And then of course the second objection that you could live as you please is certainly unfounded. The Bible says you can’t live as you please. God is going to spank you. And if you’re not spanked, if he’s not going to discipline you, then you’re not a child who got it all. You’re a bastard claiming to be a son, and the Bible says, if you be without chastisement, Hebrews 12-8, or discipline, where of all are partakers, then you are a bastard and not a son.

I am Dr. Anglins from this Bible. I am just great to be with you. It’s Monday. We look forward to hearing from you. The phone Remember here, if you want to call in, is 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771, give us a call. And we’ll try to take your questions. Again, don’t forget that tomorrow night we have the second week, classes three and four in our series, called In Time Controversy. I hope you will be listening. By internet you can call and sign up for the class and get the passcode or you can come and sit in class if you’re in driving distance.

Okay, we’re going to go to some of the offer questions we have here and we have here Tony, a preacher in Hudson, ability Florida, calls in and says, I heard you not speak the truth. You talk about a rapture. We call it the second coming. coming. It doesn’t happen until the Antichrist is revealed. We go up to what Paul says at the seventh Trump. Well, it sounds like Tony, you’re very confused. The seventh Trump is the end of the Tribulation, and that’s seven years after the Rapture.

You’re telling me then that the Church, the bride of Christ, will be dragged through the Tribulation, the darkest hours of new history. That’s certainly not true. If you look at 1 Thessalonians 1 10, we know it says, we’re to wait not for tribulation, but we’re to wait for his son from heaven which delivered us from the wrath which is to come. So we are, you know, if we had to go through the tribulation, the verse would say that we have to wait for tribulation.

But the Bible never says that. It says we are to wait for his son who delivered us from the tribulation, from the wrath that is to come. The tribulation period is a time of wrath and destruction if you read chapter 5 verses 3 and 4 in 1 Thessalonians. And the fact that it says that it happens at the last Trump is not telling you that you count the trumpets in Revelation and it’s the seventh Trump which is at the end of the tribulation.

It’s talking about an expression used in the Old Testament where when Israel was in the wilderness and when they would be ready to move on, when God led them, his presence was made known in the tabernacle. In the night time by pillar of fire, in the day time by cloud, when the cloud began to move or the pillar of fire began to move, they were to break camp and go. So they would sound a trumpet that said, pack your bags, fold your tense get ready to move.

And the last Trump, this is when we move out. So the last Trump is a figure of speech to say that’s the Trump that sounds that really announces the fact that we’re moving out of here. We should already be ready to go. As a believer, you are ready. You’re going to be in the rapture with you like it or not. But it’s going to happen when that last Trump sounds it’s not the seventh of the seven trumpets in the book of Revelation.

And the Antichrist, of course, will be revealed after the Rapture. Second Thessalonians makes that very clear, Tony. In Second Thessalonians in chapter 2, it tells us in verse 3 that there will be first a departure. Let me read the verse and we’ll talk about it for just a moment, but it says, let no man deceive you by any means for that day shall not come except there come a falling away first. Now the word or the phrase falling away first really means in the Greek a departure.

Some have thought that this is a departure from doctrine which would be apostasy, but it isn’t because if you read the context of this chapter it tells us it’s the departure of the Holy Spirit, the one who is hindering iniquity here in this world as the Holy Spirit indwells us believers. Verse 7 says, the mystery of iniquity doth already work. Only he, that’s the Holy Spirit, who now hindrith iniquity in this world will continue to hinder it until he be taken out of the way.

Well, the Holy Spirit is going to be taken out when he goes, we go because he indwells us permanently. Then it says in verse 8, and then shall that wicked one be revealed. The Antichrist will be revealed right after this departure of the Holy Spirit. This age only does the Holy Spirit permanently involve believers from Pentecost and Tumbler Rapture. And when the one who is hindering iniquity is taken out or departs, then we find when he is taken out of the way it says in verse 8, then that wicked one will be revealed.

The same thought is in verse 3 and 4 where it says that no No man deceived you by any means for that day shall not come, except there come my departure first, and then what? The man of sin will be revealed. The son of perdition. This is the anacrist. He will be revealed after the departure. It is clear in the context of the chapter that the departure is that of the Holy Spirit.

I think I didn’t read in the last sentence here of your comments here, Tony, preacher from Hudson, Florida. In 1st Thessalonians, Paul is speaking in what is going to happen at the 2nd coming, not the Rapture. Well, it’s certainly not true. So that is unfortunate that you have missed that. There is a departure. The Holy Spirit will be taken out. And then the Antichrist will be revealed. and the Holy Spirit when He goes we go and that is the Rapture of the Church.

And the Second Coming is totally different. If you read chapter 4 verse 16 of 1st of Solonius it says the Lord himself shall descend from heaven. When you read about the Second Coming Revelation 1 and 7 it says every eye shall see Him. The whole earth will see the Second Coming of Christ but nobody sees the Rapture except those that are caught up in it, but there will be millions who will simply disappear. Well, and then there’s another comment here and it says, you need to get real, I hope I am real, the book of Revelation speaks of overcomers.

And of course, guess what? That’s every believer. 1 John 5, 5 says, who is he that overcome of the world? Answer, he to believe that the Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Believers are overcomers. By virtue of what Christ did for us on the cross, He overcame Satan, overcame death, overcame the penalty of sin, and so on. And as a result of what He did on our behalf, when we trust Him as our Savior, we become overcomers. Read 1 John 5, verse 4 says, Whose whoever is born of God overcome with the world, and this is the victory that overcome with the world, even our faith.

Verse 5 is even better. It says, who is he that overcome with the world answer? He that believe that the Jesus Christ is the Son of God. So if you’ve believed on Christ, you’ve trusted him as your Savior, my friend, you are an overcomer. So thank you for telling me to get real and that I am not telling the truth or speaking the truth. I believe that you’re in error and thank you for your call. Tony from Hudson, Florida.

We have Tim in Clearwater He says, are you a part of the preachers that scare people to have a relationship with Jesus Christ so they won’t have to go through the tribulation? And if you have a relationship with Christ, you’ll be raptured. Well I don’t believe I’m scaring anybody. I’m simply telling people what they must do to be saved. When you trust Christ, you will be saved. And when you are saved, a relationship is only one of about 30 or 40 or 50 consequences that happen when you believe.

When you believe you become born again, and that of course gives you a relationship because you become God’s child. And God is not going to take the bride of Christ, which we also become through the tribulation. We are going to be caught up to meet the Lord in the air. There will be a marriage in heaven and we will come back with Christ at the end of the tribulation period and the whole thousand year reign of Christ will be a marriage supper celebration of the marriage of the Lamb.

We are going to go to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and we are going to talk to Tony in Pittsburgh and welcome to Bible Ed. Yes, how are you doing Hank? Good. I am going to ask you about a season 4.11. Alright. The way I was taught a apostle, they were saying with Jesus. They all were eyewitnesses of Christ, including Paul, saw him on the Damascus Road. Also apparently according to the Galatians, one was taught personally by the Lord in Arabia after his resurrection.

Paul got the same length of time of training that the other apostles did that had spent three years under the teaching of Christ. But the apostles, there are no more apostles today. They’ve all died. And that was one of the gifts of the Spirit there in Ephesians 4 and 11 that he gave some apostles. But the gift of apostleship today is gone. Okay, it okay given and at the liking Malachi Malachi 310 Do you did it’s that bibble for the day for?

Titan no it isn’t that tiny was under the law and that was under the law that was given in Mount Sinai But we’re today not under the law and so We’re obviously to give but the Bible says that were to give as we The law of the law of the law has been prospered by God, a percentage, and as we purpose in our hearts, 2 Corinthians 8 and 9, both are two wonderful chapters on giving. And grace giving is giving from the heart not because you are obligated under the law to give.

So under the Old Testament tithing you had to give because the law required it of you. But in the New Testament we give it because we want to give it and it’s from the heart. It’s just… a total difference there. We are no longer under the law, but we’re under grace. And so what we do in service to the Lord today is from the heart. It’s because we want to do it. In other words, some people go to work and they are required to be there 40 hours and they watch that clock and they don’t spend one extra second there.

But you know, if you serve out of love, I put in a lot more than 40 hours and I do it because I love to. I want to be here. I’m looking forward to what I do and it’s very rewarding to me. So I’m not looking in a clock and say when’s my break coming up or was my lunch coming up or how soon can I get out of here. I really don’t feel that way. I like what I do and I enjoy it.

So when you serve from the heart, when you give from the heart, it’s a whole different ball game than giving under the law where you better be here and you better stay here for exactly x number of minutes or you’re not going to get paid. But this one, if I’m on the pastor and they believe in tired and they believe in the firefold minister and that there, okay if I’m under that there, if somebody in the church would come to me and say, do you believe in that?

We’ve got to go to break and we’ll be right back and do a second half hour Bible and don’t go away Don’t go away Bibleline will be back in a moment give us a call at 1-800-576-3771 That’s 1-800-576-3771 All right, I’m Dr. Englund’s chairman It’s Monday and is excited to be with you You know, we just got back from Israel We had a wonderful time and we look forward to going again. This is called replacement theology where Israel has been replaced by the church. And this is really nonsense and certainly bad teaching and certainlyn the interpretation of the Bible. We are going to be covering all of these different views and how these errors have developed and what the Bible really says. And I hope you’ll take it if not in person, you can sign up and get the passcode and take it on the internet from anywhere on the planet earth. That’s right.

So if you are hearing about this program or listening to this program somehow, however, you can take this class no matter where you live if you have internet access. So I consider that also when we get all finished, the CDs and DVDs will be available so you can hear it or watch it and hear it depending on whether you get CDs or DVDs when we finish the classes. We are listeners supported. Thank God for all of you who do give the Bible on because if you didn’t, we wouldn’t be on the air.

But we could use your help. If you haven’t given a gift this month of April, it’s running out and we could use some more help to come out even in April. Please consider praying for us every day. If you could, send the gift to Bibleline. No gift is too small. But if you give a generous gift, that would really help us here at this time. Call and you can do it over the phone by credit card or call and ask for an envelope to be sent to you.

We’ll send it out and you can send the gift by check in the mail. We hope that you will do that and we’ll thank you in advance. God bless you. Thank you for praying for Bibleline. we thank you for your gifts which keep us on the air. If you would like to go to Israel, we just got back. We had a wonderful time. We’d like to go again in October. Please call and get on our list so we can keep you informed.

And we’ll also go again in the spring. So if you would like to go with us to Israel, let us know and we’ll keep you abreast of all our plans and how you can get on board with us. We’ll have a wonderful time. I guarantee you, it’ll be trip number 15 for me and we’ll see this wonderful land where the Bible of course has its origin and its roots are in Israel. We’re going to go back to the phone lines.

If you’d like to call us, it’s 1-800-576-3771. And for that previous caller, I don’t know if we completely wrapped it up for you, but certainly we’re under grace and not under law, and therefore we serve because we serve out of love and because we want to, not because we have to. I know my salvation is secure. It’s paid for totally by what Christ did for me, and I don’t have to do anything to be saved or to stay saved.

I serve the Lord every day and I have since I was about 19 because I’m grateful. I’m thankful. I want other people to hear this great news. And that’s why I serve. We are saved to serve. We are not saved by serving, but we are saved. So that we might serve the Lord. We have Robert and Tampa. He says, I went to your website and looked at your test. I thought it was a waste of time in relationship to the truth of God.

What about his glory? How do we manifest God’s glory? We think your faith in God because it is not by just faith alone. This is the theme of so much scripture like Romans. Why waste a chapter on baptism if it’s not important? Anyway, thank you Robert for calling in and obviously you are confused. There are ten Baptisms taught in the New Testament and if you’re referring to Romans chapter 6 about baptism, it’s not talking about water. It’s talking about the baptism that occurs when you trust Christ.

By faith alone by the way, if you just back up a little bit, Romans 4, 5 says, but to Him that worked if not, but to Him that worked if not, but believeth on Him that justified the ungomod, that’s Christ. Your faith in Christ is counted for righteousness. It’s very clear that you don’t work to be saved, but you trust Christ to be saved, and your faith in Christ is counted for righteousness. When that happens, you are placed into the body of Christ by the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

In chapter 6 of Romans is talking about not water, but how we are baptized into the very body of Christ and therefore were baptized into his death, his burial, his resurrection, because God sees us in Christ and whatever happened to Christ therefore happened to us. And Robert, I think you’re terribly confused and I’m concerned that if you are mixed up and think you have to be water baptized to be saved, you’ll wind up in hell because The salvation is none of yourself.

Ephesians 2 8, read it, 4 by grace, mercy and merit of paper are you saved through faith and that the salvation is none of yourself. It is the gift of God and is none of works. Ephesians 2 9, lest any man should boast. We are going to go to Orlando. We have Wayne patiently waiting and Wayne welcome to Bibleline you on the air. Good morning. Good morning. I just want to touch base on a comment you made which of course I agreed to.

It seems like both sides, people of the, I guess the on-mill and the pre-millennial people are really starting to take aim for another. The truth is the truth whether you like it or not, people as someone who believes in a criminal rapture people who are who may believe on in a moment when you’ll see all of you’re going to get raptured whether they that whether they would be like it or not i guess i guess my comment is well that will be a surprise for yeah and both certainly will miss mister mister hanograph people be pleasantly surprised i hope so uh…

mike i guess my bigger concern is is whole thing i know it’s someone who who really appreciate a crystal clear gospel as some of you who went with lived in the small town and sort of the only church that had come from it with the small on the lineal press the curio church who pre who preached a crystal clear gospel uh… and obviously living in florida no longer will go to that that you know that church on live there you know i just i i i know of churches that teach a pre-millennial eschatology where i’m not sure the pastor the elders or anyone the church and vice versa.

And I guess it is a little bit of a struggle, but let me just encourage you, just like I would encourage anyone, just to make sure that when you’re talking to people who may not understand this argument, to make sure that the gospel in and of itself is what’s most important. And if there are people that may be wrong about this, and there may be people who are right, who aren’t going to be raptured because they believe in a different gospel, even though they believe in a pre-millennial return, there’s going to be people who are going to be pleasantly surprised who believe in an omelepetology.

And I just want to just encourage that and I guess get your comment. Thanks. Okay. Well, I think you really hit the nail on the head there. We ought to major in what is major and what is minor and obviously solvations at the top. If you don’t get that right, nothing else really matters at all. But if you are genuinely saved, whatever your theology is about the rapture, the return of Christ, you’re going to find out what happens. And I believe, of course, you’ll find that you’ll be raptured out before the tribulation period.

But, thank you, Wayne. That’s a real good perspective that we certainly need to make sure that everybody gets saved and with this regard to everything else. And then… The Bible says that in the lower level of importance is the other issues. Salvation is obviously the most important. We don’t want anyone to go to hell, and there’s no need for anyone to go to hell because Christ died for everyone and whosoever the Bible says would believe or trust in Christ would not perish but have everlasting life.

Thank you, Wayne. In Orlando, we have Denise in Clearwater and Denise, welcome to Bimod. Yeah, hi. I enjoy the program. I want to have a comment and a question. The question is on Daniel 1137 in the King James Bible at the Beast shall not desire women. I’m under the impression that he’s going to be a homosexual. Well, I don’t believe that. I think it’s saying there he will not regard the desire of women, which is different. In other words, the natural desire of a woman is to marry and have children raise their family.

And he’s not going to have any regard for that. We already see that in our unisex society today. Men and women today fighting as soldiers firing weapons at enemy. I just couldn’t imagine myself as a child that we’d have any women on the front lines firing weapons or doing any of those things. But today it’s a different ball game. I was talking to a lady yesterday or I said it to you, rather. said that she has never yet pumped any gas and she’s not going to she’d rather get a cab or walk but but I remember when women never pumped gas but now it’s routine to see ladies at the pump pump in the gas in their car and so on so our world is changing rapidly and I think it’s talking about that women will be required to do things that men are required to do and he’ll have not any

regard for the fact that the woman might desire to have a home and raise kids and and have a family and all that. Think the Antichrist will disregard anything in a way of favors toward women. Oh, I see. Now I wanted to make a comment. The History Channel has been running the program now on the Antichrist. They did last night in Armageddon. And I did watch it anyway. But my overall impression is that they’re trying to tell the world that this Antichrist talk to be mystical like the figment of some imagination well i think a lot of that teaching that we say does it want you to uh…

really believe the bible literally and to accept these things is things are going to happen so he’s going to do all he can through many times these types of programs which uh… will uh… cause you you know to doubt the bible but if you read the bible carefully usually find the or don’t present the accurate rendering of what the Bible says. You’re right on that respect. They left out a lot of things that Jesus quoted. They just gave little pieces of scripture here and there, but they didn’t mention what came out of Jesus teaching out of his mouth.

now. And I saw Tim LaHaye interviewed and also Hal Lindsey, which was good. I respect that they had them. Yeah. And that’s it. The end of my comment. Well Denise, thank you for calling. Thank you very much for taking me in. Thank you. You’re welcome Denise in Clearwater, Florida. And we are now going to Reggie in Tampa. Reggie welcome to Bibleline hey, how do you doing this morning, dr. Good glad to hear from you again? Thank you I got the ladies that just talked about the history channel.

That was one of my pet peeves too I critiqued it last night and it was totally out of context They went to Daniel to try to go along with revelation But when they took Daniel they went with the iron they jumped totally to that and they were like well This was Rome during the time they’re explaining Rome and the and the people in the area But they didn’t use it in correlation with revelations in the time frames the way the statue of Daniel was laid out They totally dotted around it, but that’s not really what I called about what really irritated me this morning when I turn on the television This guy was sitting up drawing in money saying that he’s a master prophet of God and I don’t think people totally from Christians don’t understand what a prophet is and what the word is to prophesy

Okay, they taking these two words as the same instead of as two different meanings I mean, well, I appreciate if you just tell people to put the meanings between the two. All right. Thank you so much, Reggie, Reggie and Tampa. The gift of prophecy, by the way, has ceased. It tells us in 1st Corinthians 13, 8 through 10, about three gifts in particular that would disappear, that were temporary in nature, to help the early church as the church transitioned through the change from the Jews being God’s witnesses.

Now the Gentiles being God’s witnesses and until the New Testament was completed. So it says there that the gift of prophecy was a gift that was a partial gift, the gift of knowledge was a gift that was a partial gift. And they would cease when the Word of God, which is what is perfect, has come and also the gift of tongues would come to a complete and utter halt, which it did. There’s nobody today speaking in the biblical gift of tongues.

Sometimes the word prophecy is used to be one who tells forth rather than foretell. In that sense you could use it today, but otherwise the gift of prophecy is gone and the biblical gift of prophecy would be that you would tell the events that now we don’t need the gift to get because it’s found right there in the Bible. The next event is the Rapture. The next event after that is the Tribulation Period, the rise of the Antichrist, and the judgments of that Tribulation Period, the Second Coming of Christ, and then the Millennial Kingdom, and then of course the destruction of this Earth by fire, and the new heavens and the new earth being created, and so on and so on.

We have George in South Carolina writes in and gives us an offer question. He says, explained in Romans 4, 4, and 5, but of death. it say in verse 4, not a hymn that work is, is the reward not reckoned of mercy, grace, but of debt. In other words, as long as you’re trying to work your way to be saved, you’re not paying off any of your sin debt. And as a consequence, your sin debt increases. It’s just like if you have an electric bill and you really don’t send any money in, your debt will increase because you’re using more electricity and your bill will go on and on until they cut your electricity off.

But you’re not reducing to that unless you’re able to pay for it by real money. And the only way that sin can be paid for is by you going to hell or Christ dying as the substitute who died to pay for your sins in your place. And when you trust in Him, the Bible says in Romans 4, 5, but to Him that does not work, but would trust on Christ who justifies Godly. faith in Christ is accounted for righteousness.

Thank you, George. I hope that helps. We’re going to a caller in Tampa and to Nina. I’m not too sure if I’m explaining your name correctly, so help me out. Hello. This is, yes. Good morning, Dr. Good morning. How do I pronounce your name? Antoine Huuchen. Okay. Antoine, alright, thank you. Very good. Dr. Huuthen, you attribute the following away with the rapture. That should be happening first before I come in. But yet also it is here that this son of a physician, who is the antichrist, should be here, should come to this question.

Jesus Christ, we turn. Well, if you’ll notice, there are two things going on in that chapter, 2 Thessalonians. It says the departure of the Holy Spirit takes place first, and that’s the one who is hindering iniquity will continue to hinder until he be taken out of the way. That’s the Holy Spirit, and that is the rapture, because when he goes, we go, and the Holy Spirit was taken up, and we go up with the Holy Spirit. But then it says the Antichrist, the Manus in, the son of perdition will be revealed.

Verse 8 says, whom the Lord will destroy with the brightness of his coming. So that happens after the revealing of the Antichrist. But the revealing of the Antichrist takes place after the departure. So we have the departure first, then the revealing of the Antichrist, and then the destruction of the Antichrist. Verse 8 with the second coming, where Christ comes in all his power and glory and destroys him with the brightness of his coming. So we have both the rapture and the second coming in that chapter separated by seven years.

But the subject is the second coming on the chapter that should happen first. So the following away and the appearance of the enterprise, those things should happen first. And after that, right, we’ll go back. But the word falling away is in the Greek a departure. The departure is clearly the one who is hindering iniquity will be taken away. That is the Holy Spirit in us as believers. So when He goes, we go, that is the rapture, that is the departure.

The following way is the departure of the Holy Spirit and that is the departure of the churches. We are taken out as we are the salt of the earth and we are hindering iniquity as the only spirit is in us and we’ll be taking out of the way. Then the Antichrist is revealed. He goes into the temple verse 4 and will proclaim that he’s God. Now that can’t happen yet. Because the temple has not been rebuilt, but we believe right after the rapture, after this departure of the Holy Spirit, the third temple will be rebuilt in Jerusalem, and the Antichrist will go into that temple, and he’ll stop the sacrifices that will have been resumed, and he will proclaim that he is God and demand to be worshiped according to verse 4.

And then verse 8, Christ comes back and destroys the Santa Christ with the abundance of His coming. That is the second coming. The second coming in the Rapture are not the same. same event that’s the confusion i think uh… i appreciate your or answer better even the temple is the body of quite that is spiritual that is something spiritual things after quite that the temple become become his body easy head i believe that the opposite the opposite they think about it a minute now because as the man of sin the antichrist will go into that temple so he’s going to go into believers bodies now Galileo is going to go into a physical building where he is going to make, it says there are proclamation that he is God and demand to be worshiped.

So that can’t be our bodies. The Antichrist will go into a building and there he will make the pronouncement that he is God and that is yet to happen. Sure do thank you for the call though and we will talk about it further. We have now Betty in Beverly Hills Florida patiently waiting here. Beverly welcome, I mean Betty in Beverly Hills welcome to Bibleline good morning brother and stuff. My husband and I have been sharing some things with a new believer and we’ve told him and shown him that there are no female angels in the Bible and he’s drawn our attention to Zachariah chapter 5 verses 5 through 11 actually the issue being verse 9.

Right, that’s not an angel. That’s not an angel. It’s talking about a woman there. And the woman had wings like the wings of a storm. Right. The storm is an unclean bird and so this is certainly not anything of God because these are on the forbidden list in God’s list. And so this is a, whenever, and Scofield does a good job, a woman, whenever you see prophecy is out of place because it represents bad doctrine and bad teaching. of the bad teachings of the last days which were living will be carried all the way back to the Middle East where the nations once began.

And I think we’re seeing that happen even right now by our presence over there and how the, you know, it’s amazing to me that the cults are now worldwide and they’re expanding their terrible teachings everywhere. And they’re afflicting these people in these different countries, even in the Middle East. So this is, I think, talking about a woman, but it’s not an angel. And the woman is really in the vision here. It’s a picture of the spreading of bad doctrine.

And in the wings of a historical picture, it is a polluted or a forbidden bird. that we’re not to accept the influence of, but yet the influence of that bird will be powerful, or that woman will be powerful. Now, Brother Lynch, can I explain that that is speaking metaphorically, that division or no? Well, it is a vision, and it’s really, obviously it has to be interpreted as to what it means, and I think you can connect that woman with the Revelation 17 Church.

that this woman is a religious system that will make its influence known in the Middle East and it moves in there in the last days in particular and it’s obviously evil as it’s a picture of the stork issues, the wings of a stork are used, which is a clean bird. And brothers, I make back a comment on all of these folks that really don’t get it that we’re going to be taken out before God brings a wrap on the unsaved on the earth.

Wouldn’t that be called double indemnity Assange? If we were to stay here, I mean our sins have been paid for on the cross by the Lord Jesus Christ. And the thing is, is that there is a distinction that which most people are not recognizing when they have that problem between Israel and the church and the Gentiles. And God has a purpose for the Church, which is a heavenly purpose. The Church began at Pentecostal in the Rapture, but then God’s plan for Israel has gone on since Abraham, and it has been interrupted since Christ was rejected, but will be resumed as soon as the Rapture happens, and God’s earthly plan for Israel and earthly kingdom Then we’ll be carried out.
